You all were not telling the truth, and you should not be trusted.
00:00:06.540
Congressman Matt Gaetz, thank you for what you did for your country tonight.
00:00:09.280
Be offended with the Democratic whip, not House of Republicans.
00:00:16.720
Welcome to Hot Takes. I'm Congressman Matt Gaetz.
00:00:23.240
Mark Meadows and Jake Tapper had a spirited exchange.
00:00:27.120
Your own folks at the White House vote by mail.
00:00:28.800
President Trump and the First Lady, as you noted, requested mail-in ballots this week in Florida.
00:00:33.300
Other White House officials, Vice President Pence, Kayleigh McEnany, Kayleigh Ann Conway, a half dozen cabinet officials, all vote by mail.
00:00:40.180
Here's what I can tell you, is absentee, no excuse, what I call no excuse absentee.
00:00:45.720
Say, listen, I'm concerned because of the pandemic.
00:00:48.600
Will you send me an absentee ballot that comes directly to me?
00:00:53.560
I have a signature requirement that makes sure that it's me that's actually voting, and I send it back.
00:00:59.800
The president doesn't have a problem with that.
00:01:01.380
Chris Bentley, president of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union Local 297, which covers Kansas and part of Missouri, two good Trump states,
00:01:10.120
told CNN that postal management has already taken out four machines in Kansas City, two machines in Springfield, Missouri,
00:01:17.240
and one machine in Wichita, Kansas, that is earlier this year under this new Postmaster General.
00:01:24.880
With all due respect, and if we look at it, I can talk to Kansas.
00:01:35.040
They're part of a processing center that comes in.
00:01:38.360
And as we start to move those out, if they were not part of an already scheduled reallocation, it's not happening.
00:01:46.320
It's not a new initiative by this Postmaster General.
00:01:49.060
So Missouri and Kansas are apparently the evidence that Jake Tapper believes show some effort to disrupt the election.
00:01:56.340
And to me, that's exculpatory for the administration.
00:01:59.800
No one's trying to sway the votes in Kansas and Missouri.
00:02:02.520
I mean, if you only saw this alleged activity happening with the swapping out of machines,
00:02:09.740
the upgrading of machines in Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Ohio,
00:02:14.320
maybe one could make the argument that those changes are somehow politically motivated.
00:02:19.240
But when you see them enterprise-wide, when you see them in places like Missouri and Kansas,
00:02:23.860
it seems to suggest this is just what happens with the Postal Office.
00:02:30.000
Let's get to the business of having a free, fair, honest, countable election.
00:02:35.140
And in doing so, I think it's important to point out the distinction between the type of mail voting system we have in Florida
00:02:41.700
and the type that is being proposed in some other places.
00:02:46.360
The president has no problem with people requesting a vote-by-mail ballot,
00:02:51.620
receiving that ballot, and then casting it lawfully.
00:02:55.600
We've done that in a variety of places around the country without consequence
00:03:00.760
The problem is when someone doesn't request a ballot,
00:03:04.100
and you just have oodles and oodles of ballots being sent to people who didn't ask for them.
00:03:08.640
Maybe it's someone who has only ever voted on Election Day
00:03:11.340
and only intends to vote on Election Day, or maybe it's an early voter.
00:03:14.340
Then you really have a lack of accountability over the ballots,
00:03:20.640
And then these balloteros come and get them and fill them out and submit them,
00:03:24.420
and they count as voted ballots, even if that person never intended to vote,
00:03:28.080
never intended to vote absentee, may have voted in some other manner or some other jurisdiction.
00:03:34.360
Let's hope we have an election with integrity that we're all proud of.
00:03:37.980
Ralph Nader getting the cold shoulder from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
00:03:47.180
He apparently is still alive and engaged in politics.
00:03:55.360
no real reason to go over them about the president and his behavior.
00:04:00.140
And Ralph Nader does not believe the Democrats are doing enough.
00:04:03.380
I mean, again, they impeached him and then failed to remove him.
00:04:07.960
They have had historic obstruction to the agenda that will help regular Americans.
00:04:13.960
But Ralph Nader is not getting any of his letters really acknowledged by Nancy Pelosi or AOC.
00:04:21.360
And it's sort of a snooty letter from him indicating that, you know,
00:04:27.340
And, you know, why haven't they gotten back to him?
00:04:30.020
Hey, Ralph, you're not one of AOC's constituents.
00:04:33.380
She doesn't have an obligation to meet with you.
00:04:36.080
She doesn't have an obligation to write you back.
00:04:39.960
but I certainly think that it's just quite something when someone believes that
00:04:44.180
they have a birthright to your time and your causes when they're not your constituents.
00:04:50.560
And in this case, it just kind of looks like Ralph Nader is trying to get attention,
00:04:54.340
not really do anything other than reassert himself within the left-wing woke-topia.
00:05:02.920
I would think that time with Ralph Nader probably wouldn't be too helpful to anyone.
00:05:08.360
So I'm here for the AOC cold shoulder of Ralph Nader.
00:05:12.420
In calendar year 2017 and 2018, I made the argument that you weren't seeing a crime
00:05:21.900
with the collusion alleged between the Trump campaign and Russia.
00:05:27.980
Elements within our own government working to delegitimize and destabilize the presidency
00:05:32.560
were trying to frame Donald Trump, members of his campaign, members of his family even.
00:05:38.380
And, oh my gosh, the Democrats and the media and even some Republicans said,
00:05:53.120
We now have a plea from Kevin Clinesmith, attorney with the FBI, of guilty
00:05:59.540
for fabricating evidence before a secret court.
00:06:03.720
And it really is troubling to see our government weaponized against any political campaign,
00:06:11.180
in particular here, the winning political campaign.
00:06:16.360
He's the lawyer who previously said, viva la resistance, and was identified in Michael
00:06:24.000
And it's nice to see that the crimes, that the setups, that the illegal activity,
00:06:28.740
that all of that doesn't just result in a report, that it actually results in an indictment,
00:06:35.760
And hopefully this is just the first shoe to drop of many where we can hold those accountable
00:06:46.460
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was on Marita Bartiromo's show Sunday morning.
00:06:51.680
He had some keen insights regarding dealing with the pandemic, dealing with economic recovery,
00:06:57.740
and also the frame for the upcoming Democratic convention.
00:07:01.660
Tomorrow, look who you've got speaking at the Democratic National Convention.
00:07:13.300
Isn't that interesting that John Kasich is one of the speakers on Monday night?
00:07:19.220
Well, this shows you the never-Trump crowd, how they're triggered by President Trump.
00:07:24.820
Everything he's ever stood for his entire life, everything his supporters gave him,
00:07:28.020
he's going to stand up there on Monday night and basically throw it all away, okay?
00:07:34.460
The globalization projects are so radical by these Democrats.
00:07:41.380
So, no, I think Biden picked the perfect candidate for him because I think it's so juxtaposed
00:07:47.140
I think Senator Harris is the perfect running mate for him because now you can show the globalization.
00:07:52.580
Remember, with Biden, you don't have a Manchurian candidate.
00:07:58.180
The victory right here for President Trump, I think, is very specific.
00:08:04.840
You hold him accountable for the economic carnage, for all the deaths.
00:08:08.160
You start to confront the Chinese Communist Party everywhere in technology and economics
00:08:15.380
You start to bring back high-value-added manufacturing jobs.
00:08:24.280
He's compromised by the Chinese Communist Party.
00:08:28.940
So, they're not going to be able to combat that.
00:08:30.960
I think President Trump, action, action, action, like he's been doing,
00:08:34.620
and what Jared Kushner did the other day in this fabulous deal with UAE,
00:08:41.360
That's bringing back the Middle East to the side of the United States
00:08:44.600
in this great confrontation with the Chinese Communist Party
00:08:46.940
against Iran, against Pakistan, against Turkey, and against Russia.
00:08:53.840
Did Massachusetts Congresswoman and Squad Member Ayanna Pressley
00:09:03.500
You know, this is as much about public outcry and organizing and mobilizing
00:09:08.120
and applying pressure so that this GOP-led Senate and that these governors
00:09:12.660
that continue to carry water for this administration, putting the American
00:09:16.020
people in harm's way, turning a deaf ear to the needs of our families
00:09:27.400
You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there's unrest
00:09:31.560
And unfortunately, there's plenty to go around.
00:09:35.560
I believe that Americans ought to be able to share their ideas, thoughts, concerns.
00:09:40.060
I think they ought to be able to organize in doing so.
00:09:42.400
But when you're engaged in this type of a call, as Congresswoman Pressley is,
00:09:47.800
it seems to go beyond peaceful protest to unrest, to disruption in a way that is a dog
00:09:55.060
vessel to those who would break the law, who would burn, riot and loot.
00:09:59.500
And I think we deserve better from members of Congress than to encourage the most destructive
00:10:06.600
We should be a nation that builds things up to its best version and not a nation that's
00:10:12.220
leaders call for unrest and disturbance and discord and harm to our fellow Americans.
00:10:17.660
Is there anything more American than a bald eagle taking down a drone?
00:10:31.040
And over Lake Michigan, there was a Phantom 4 drone being operated by law enforcement.
00:10:36.760
And the American bald eagle ripped off one of the propellers, sent the aircraft to the
00:10:44.160
I guess they're saying that it could have been a territorial squabble with the drone or
00:10:49.360
the eagle could have just been hungry, saw something flying and appeared to strike.
00:10:56.120
Maybe there's like some sort of endangered or threatened species implication and we can,
00:11:00.580
you know, see if we can at least get the Chinese drones out of the sky.
00:11:04.400
But score one for America, the American bald eagle knocking the drone out of the sky above
00:11:18.240
And in the Sunshine State, in Florida, tomorrow, there is a primary election.
00:11:23.240
And I hope that all Floridians will take part in that election.
00:11:28.880
Your supervisor of elections should have the up-to-date information.
00:11:33.160
And whether you're going to vote Republican, Democrat, otherwise, know that it is important
00:11:47.240
And in the upcoming Florida election, folks can choose to participate in the selection of
00:11:53.960
I don't know that there are any other major parties that have primaries.
00:11:57.560
Every once in a while, there are a couple libertarians that will be in a primary.
00:12:03.540
But it is an important moment to note the policy choice that Florida has made to allow Republicans
00:12:10.220
to pick the Republican candidates and Democrats to pick the Democrat candidates.
00:12:19.180
And I think that's preferable because it allows the various parties to select the people that
00:12:24.480
they believe will be the best public servants among them and the best messengers.
00:12:27.960
And so with our closed primary system, we're still hoping for a lot of participation, a
00:12:35.760
And if you join us tomorrow, I'm sure I'll break down some of the results and offer some
