The Anchormen Show with Matt Gaetz

Episode 81 LIVE: Omni-Bust (feat. Rep. Dan Bishop) – Firebrand with Matt Gaetz

Summary

Matt Gaetz was one of the few members in the entire Congress who bothered to stand up against permanent Washington on behalf of his constituents. He could cause a lot of hiccups in passing the laws, so we're going to keep running those stories to get hurt again. If you stand for the flag and kneel in prayer, if you want to build America up and not burn her to the ground, then you're in the right place.

00:00:00.000 Matt Gaetz was one of the very few members in the entire Congress who bothered to stand
00:00:07.560 up against permanent Washington on behalf of his constituents.
00:00:10.880 Matt Gaetz right now, he's a problem in the Democratic Party.
00:00:13.700 He could cause a lot of hiccups in passing the laws.
00:00:16.720 So we're going to keep running those stories to get hurt again.
00:00:19.880 If you stand for the flag and kneel in prayer, if you want to build America up and not burn
00:00:26.020 her to the ground, then welcome, my fellow patriots.
00:00:29.320 You are in the right place.
00:00:31.020 This is the movement for you.
00:00:33.120 You ever watch this guy on television?
00:00:35.460 Like a machine, Matt Gaetz.
00:00:37.860 I'm a canceled man in some corners of the Internet.
00:00:41.020 Many days, I'm a marked man in Congress, a wanted man by the deep state.
00:00:45.440 They aren't really coming for me.
00:00:47.600 They're coming for you.
00:00:49.620 I'm just in the way.
00:00:56.020 Providing assistance for the Ukrainians to defeat the Russians, that's the number one
00:01:02.580 priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans.
00:01:08.500 That's sort of how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment.
00:01:17.260 That's Mitch McConnell.
00:01:18.800 That's your Republican leadership in Washington, D.C., and they think so little of you.
00:01:24.380 They tell you that you're not even their priority.
00:01:27.700 They tell it to you right to your face, and that is what we are fighting against each and
00:01:31.860 every day.
00:01:32.720 Thank you so much for joining us.
00:01:34.020 We are simulcast streaming out of room 2021 in the Rayburn office building in the Capitol
00:01:39.220 complex in Washington, D.C., and thank you for the comments.
00:01:42.680 We got the live stream going and folks telling us they're joining us from Georgia, Tucson,
00:01:47.400 Texas, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
00:01:49.840 And what I can report to you is that as the 117th Congress is coming to a close now, the
00:01:56.160 Democrats are doing their very best to steal Christmas by holding us all hostage while
00:02:01.320 they try to pass their 4,000-page omnibus spending bill.
00:02:06.520 Bunch of grinches, I would say.
00:02:08.800 And I wouldn't touch this bill with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole.
00:02:13.000 So what I'm going to do on this program is break down some of the worst features.
00:02:17.680 We've got Congressman Dan Bishop just stopped by the office, had a great conversation with
00:02:22.440 him about some of the nuggets his staff found in this bill that work against the American
00:02:27.300 people.
00:02:27.820 So first, we are doing a lot of spending abroad, and it is not good.
00:02:34.160 We allocate $32 million for the United Nations Population Fund.
00:02:39.940 That's as scary as it sounds.
00:02:41.500 And any money not used shall be made available for abortions abroad.
00:02:49.260 $575 million is allocated for abortions in areas where population growth threatens biodiversity.
00:02:58.500 I mean, just hear that.
00:03:00.440 Abortions as a mechanism for population control.
00:03:06.100 Environmental abortion.
00:03:07.620 I could not dream up a more Malthusian, dystopic, anti-human policy if I tried.
00:03:15.100 An alien hell-bent on exterminating humankind could not do a better job than this bill.
00:03:20.660 So we're going to spend another $25 million on people-to-people reconciliation programs,
00:03:26.900 which bring together individuals of different ethnic, racial, religious, and political backgrounds
00:03:32.960 from areas of civil war.
00:03:35.760 That's abroad.
00:03:36.720 What a stupid idea.
00:03:39.620 What Yale foreign policy master's graduate deemed this a critical function of our government?
00:03:46.360 Is a U.S.-funded globalist design struggle session what we're really waiting for to stop
00:03:52.720 like the Hutus and the Tutsis from hacking each other to pieces?
00:03:57.360 Maybe if we just gave the Sunnis and the Shiites a little more time to work out their differences
00:04:03.440 under the auspices of an international program,
00:04:06.540 maybe that would get them to put aside a centuries-old beef.
00:04:11.400 You know, if this really worked, we should have tried it in Afghanistan.
00:04:15.340 But no, that was the last forever war.
00:04:18.000 Now we clearly know what the next one is.
00:04:20.100 This is foolish.
00:04:21.460 This is a waste of money.
00:04:22.720 And maybe, just maybe, we should stop meddling in these affairs abroad
00:04:28.800 because our involvement doesn't always make things better and it frequently makes things worse.
00:04:33.780 But wait, there's more.
00:04:35.120 $20 million to strengthen democracy in civil society in Central Europe
00:04:41.460 through combating anti-Semitism and promoting minority rights.
00:04:45.680 I'm all for promoting minority rights.
00:04:49.240 I'm against anti-Semitism.
00:04:51.920 But are we really pretending that we know better than the Central Europeans
00:04:56.980 what they want and need to be able to resolve their differences?
00:05:00.800 Like, at what point is the State Department the great provider of the silver bullet
00:05:05.860 for anti-Semitism and repression of minority rights in Central Europe?
00:05:09.580 Like, we're basically funding China.
00:05:12.460 We're allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to them and they engage in abject slavery.
00:05:17.020 But we're going to go preach about minority rights in Central Europe because we know best.
00:05:21.680 We even found extra cash in this bill to establish a $200 million gender equity fund
00:05:27.480 to fund gender programs in Pakistan.
00:05:32.560 So Pakistanis confused about which bathroom to use.
00:05:36.080 Fear not, help is on the way from the United States.
00:05:38.640 I know that the Pakistanis, what they're really waiting for is for the United States
00:05:43.720 to explain our concepts of gender to them.
00:05:46.500 That will endear them to us, of course.
00:05:49.060 We focus a lot on the rest of the world, for better or worse.
00:05:53.360 But it really doesn't feel like we're doing the same for our own people.
00:05:56.820 For example, we're giving $410 million for border security in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman.
00:06:08.440 All while prohibiting Customs and Border Patrol from using funding to improve our own border security.
00:06:14.760 So why are other countries' borders more important than our own?
00:06:19.620 I'm not against border security in those other countries, but just maybe they should pay for it.
00:06:24.340 No other country is funding our border security with their treasury because that would be foolish.
00:06:30.680 So if we don't protect our borders, no one else will.
00:06:35.820 And we're concerned about everyone else's, not our own.
00:06:38.060 Now speaking of borders, we don't have any right now.
00:06:40.960 Which is why we're allocating $1.2 million in services for DACA requirements
00:06:45.820 and $750,000 to the Trans-Latin Coalition to provide, quote,
00:06:51.940 workforce development programs and supportive services for trans and gender non-conforming
00:06:57.480 and intersex immigrant women in Los Angeles.
00:07:01.280 Yes, that is literally something that the federal government is funding in this omnibus spending bill.
00:07:08.200 What is a woman? Nobody knows.
00:07:11.180 Anyway, if that's not enough, the bill provides for the creation of a, quote,
00:07:14.700 Ukrainian Independence Park in D.C.
00:07:18.200 Just what we need.
00:07:18.980 I'll be talking about that with Congressman Dan Bishop in just a moment.
00:07:23.120 So the establishment politicians want to stand in solidarity with everyone but their own people,
00:07:28.040 and that is the principal message of this legislation.
00:07:31.280 Let's pivot over to domestic policy real quick.
00:07:35.460 I want to go through some of the domestic features.
00:07:38.700 For starters, we are naming a federal building in San Francisco after Nancy Pelosi
00:07:43.960 and spending $3.6 million to name a trail in Georgia after Michelle Obama,
00:07:49.680 $2 million for the Great Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore.
00:07:54.900 That's quite the wax experience.
00:07:57.700 It also looks like woke spending didn't stop abroad.
00:08:02.020 The critical race theory chickens have come to roost.
00:08:04.420 We're spending $524.4 million for DEI and structural racism-focused NIH work,
00:08:15.000 $26 million for the House of Representatives Diversity and Inclusion Office.
00:08:20.480 We're even dropping another $477,000 for anti-racist training provided by the Equity Institute.
00:08:27.420 And of course, New York City, they need an LGBTQ plus museum.
00:08:34.780 So we'll be spending $3 million on that as well.
00:08:38.740 How fierce.
00:08:41.280 That's not all, folks.
00:08:43.220 The deep state's getting their cut in this spending bill.
00:08:45.540 The FBI, that should be subject to subpoenas, not buckets of cash,
00:08:51.700 now getting $11.3 billion and $375 million for a new headquarters.
00:08:58.220 The ATF is getting $1.75 billion.
00:09:01.540 And the icing on the cake is $2.63 billion for U.S. attorneys
00:09:06.100 with an emphasis on January 6th prosecutions and domestic terrorism.
00:09:11.140 That is deep state for anyone who has politics that makes us uncomfortable.
00:09:17.320 Presumably to help with this, the bill allocates $7.5 million
00:09:21.800 to better understand the, quote, domestic radicalization phenomenon,
00:09:26.620 plus an extra $1 million to study gun violence.
00:09:30.520 The deep state really wants to figure out why the American people
00:09:33.540 just aren't so crazy about them.
00:09:36.520 And if we aren't, if we aren't willing to just sign up to have
00:09:39.500 entities like the FBI control social media and engage in domestic psyops,
00:09:45.060 well then, you know what?
00:09:46.840 They'll take this money and they'll engage in those activities
00:09:50.600 and you just have to like it.
00:09:52.260 You have to tolerate it.
00:09:53.500 It's insane.
00:09:54.440 No Republican should be voting for this.
00:09:56.460 And if it's not enough, the bill is allocating $355 million
00:09:59.680 to prepare for an influenza pandemic,
00:10:02.020 including funding for additional surveillance tools.
00:10:05.380 That shouldn't scare you at all right now.
00:10:07.200 Surveillance tools in the hands of the medical industrial complex
00:10:10.100 with $355 million behind them.
00:10:14.220 Oh, and the bill also creates a permanent pandemic czar,
00:10:18.940 a permanent Fauci,
00:10:20.420 because I know that's what America has been asking for.
00:10:23.620 Now, the Vax Injury Trust Fund was raised in the legislation
00:10:27.820 from $13.2 million to $15.2 million.
00:10:30.540 Are they expecting more vaccine injuries
00:10:32.300 from the safest and most effective experimental vaccine in the world?
00:10:35.880 Well, interesting that that got a plus up.
00:10:39.920 As you can see, this omnibus bill is a disaster.
00:10:42.480 I am going to vote against it.
00:10:44.160 And any congressman that claims to represent the best interest
00:10:47.200 of the American people should too.
00:10:49.440 Now, recently, my colleague Dan Bishop from North Carolina
00:10:52.320 joined me on Firebrand to discuss that.
00:10:55.840 Take a listen to the discussion.
00:10:56.860 When you get these bills that are thousands of pages
00:11:03.180 and deal with all these different programs and equities at play,
00:11:08.500 talk to people about the process that you and your team use
00:11:11.340 to go in and evaluate it on their behalf,
00:11:13.400 because often we don't have a lot of time.
00:11:15.040 You know, Matt, as you know, we have small staff,
00:11:17.640 each member of Congress.
00:11:18.620 And in your case, in my case,
00:11:21.380 we've got some really fine young people
00:11:23.420 that work themselves to a frenzy.
00:11:26.540 And they just, you know, jumped onto this.
00:11:28.860 And when members of Congress were home,
00:11:31.300 this 4,000-plus page text appears out of nowhere.
00:11:36.560 And they just began digging in, going as hard as they could,
00:11:39.860 and had the vision to see that it would be helpful to the American people
00:11:43.180 and people would take interest in it
00:11:44.500 to get some information out about just how bad it is.
00:11:47.440 And they know that no one's going to sit there
00:11:50.040 and comb through every program with the particularity that they deserve.
00:11:54.460 But yet, your folks were diving in.
00:11:56.920 You've really exposed some of the worst elements.
00:11:58.840 Put up the Bishop tweet,
00:12:00.420 and you talk about the element of the bill
00:12:02.440 that expressly prohibits CBP funding
00:12:04.860 from being used to improve border security.
00:12:07.220 And I know you've been to the border.
00:12:08.760 I've been to the border.
00:12:09.740 They are so frustrated when they say,
00:12:11.680 we have tech and we're not allowed to plug it in.
00:12:14.920 Matt, I'm sure your viewers know this.
00:12:17.060 It's on Firebrand.
00:12:18.080 But CBP is the Customs and Border Patrol, right?
00:12:21.860 And there's literally language.
00:12:23.760 It's quoted and highlighted in that tweet
00:12:26.620 that none of the funds provided in this particular subsection
00:12:30.460 shall be used to acquire, maintain,
00:12:32.940 or extend border security technology and capabilities,
00:12:35.940 except for technology and capabilities
00:12:37.540 to improve border patrol processing.
00:12:39.660 Processing.
00:12:40.240 And we know what that's a code for.
00:12:41.600 That means they're processing more people into the country
00:12:43.900 to turn them loose faster.
00:12:45.240 Yeah, that processing is unidirectional.
00:12:47.400 They're not processing them out like they should be.
00:12:49.600 They're only processing them in.
00:12:51.820 And it affects the morale of border patrol
00:12:54.280 to see that they're not able to actually do their jobs.
00:12:58.460 I don't know how any Republican could vote for that.
00:13:00.720 With all the focus on the border,
00:13:02.600 how could any Republican vote for something
00:13:04.680 that literally ties the hand of Customs and Border Patrol?
00:13:07.320 And yet, what we understand and know is
00:13:10.260 this bill would not advance
00:13:11.640 but for Republican votes in the Senate.
00:13:13.760 It's going to get a lot of Republican votes in the Senate.
00:13:16.200 This is the status quo, Matt,
00:13:18.100 that for the sake of the country,
00:13:20.300 the country cannot wait for this to be fixed anymore.
00:13:22.940 That status quo must change.
00:13:25.620 Well, any Republican who dares to vote for this
00:13:28.220 better not say a word about the border
00:13:29.680 because they obviously don't give a damn about the border.
00:13:31.800 Unless it's the border of another country
00:13:33.620 because your staff also found
00:13:35.600 that at the same time the legislation
00:13:37.520 is allocating $410 million
00:13:39.140 toward border security
00:13:40.500 for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman.
00:13:44.900 So I guess it's not border security
00:13:48.760 that the authors are opposed to.
00:13:51.040 It's just American border security.
00:13:52.760 And they certainly are going to try to take care
00:13:54.340 of Ukraine border security.
00:13:55.500 But you're right.
00:13:57.360 And again, lest anyone think we're exaggerating,
00:14:00.080 these amounts are appropriated for those countries,
00:14:02.740 quote, for enhanced border security.
00:14:05.720 You will not find that phrase
00:14:07.720 about the American border in this bill anywhere.
00:14:10.720 I'm not against border security in Tunisia.
00:14:13.140 I'm for it.
00:14:14.000 I just think that it might be
00:14:15.200 like a principal obligation of the Tunisians.
00:14:19.340 Imagine that.
00:14:20.480 Well, Ukraine is certainly on a lot of people's mind.
00:14:24.500 Ukraine got great treatment in this legislation.
00:14:29.000 Another $47 billion for Ukraine
00:14:32.580 and also the Ukraine independence park right in D.C.
00:14:36.820 Don't you think that'll deter Vladimir Putin
00:14:38.820 when he finds that we have built
00:14:40.160 a Ukrainian independence park?
00:14:41.760 It's really what we've been waiting for.
00:14:42.400 He'll throw those tanks in reverse, won't he?
00:14:44.240 The world's been waiting for that park
00:14:45.540 so that we could stop Vladimir Putin.
00:14:47.060 You know, that $47 billion more in this bill for Ukraine
00:14:51.700 will take the United States' total spend for that, Matt.
00:14:54.500 We've seen it in bill after bill come past us
00:14:56.640 with Democrats ramming it through
00:14:58.160 and Senate Republicans helping them.
00:15:00.600 There were over $100 billion.
00:15:02.660 Russia's entire defense budget is $84 billion.
00:15:05.880 And it seems as though it's not just defense
00:15:09.580 where some of this money is headed.
00:15:11.280 $12.9 billion in economic assistance
00:15:13.740 to stabilize the economy
00:15:15.520 and spur economic recovery in Ukraine.
00:15:17.480 So if you were looking for an economic nationalist agenda,
00:15:23.300 I guess you've got one.
00:15:24.980 It's just for Ukraine, not for the United States of America.
00:15:28.520 And, you know, I think there are a lot of viewers
00:15:30.660 who sympathize with the plight of the Ukrainians,
00:15:32.480 Ukrainians, but, I mean, in an $80 billion war
00:15:36.040 is it the last $47 billion that kicks the door in?
00:15:38.760 We'll see.
00:15:40.240 Thank you for pointing this stuff out.
00:15:42.260 It's likely to pass, right?
00:15:44.020 Clearly.
00:15:44.840 Republicans in the Senate will make this bill pass.
00:15:47.360 And then, I don't know,
00:15:48.160 maybe a Republican or two in the House will support it.
00:15:50.920 But, you know, I really don't think
00:15:53.540 the country can take much more of this, Matt.
00:15:55.120 And I worry about the leverage that we need
00:15:57.740 with the power of the purse,
00:15:58.960 not to bring chaos to our government,
00:16:01.120 but you and I want to work real hard
00:16:03.200 to try to constrain the very spending
00:16:05.940 that's been impacting inflation.
00:16:07.680 It kind of feels like this ties our hands, too.
00:16:09.620 Another half billion dollars for the FBI.
00:16:12.040 You and I want to get after the FBI.
00:16:13.680 Another half billion dollars
00:16:14.500 and several hundred million dollars
00:16:16.400 for a new FBI headquarters.
00:16:18.120 We need to be asking them questions,
00:16:19.440 holding them to account.
00:16:20.600 This takes our leverage away right here.
00:16:23.620 Well, Mitch McConnell should be ashamed
00:16:25.180 for supporting this.
00:16:26.440 He should be ashamed for saying
00:16:27.820 the number one priority is to fund
00:16:30.360 our ambitions in Ukraine.
00:16:32.340 And any Republican should absolutely
00:16:33.800 be ashamed that votes for it.
00:16:35.280 Dan, thanks for breaking it down.
00:16:36.380 Thanks to your great team members
00:16:37.460 for doing the work for a lot of us
00:16:39.320 and finding some of the ugliest bumps
00:16:41.780 on this terrible bill.
00:16:43.040 They did a great job.
00:16:43.980 Thank you, Matt.
00:16:44.520 Thanks.
00:16:44.780 We'll be right back.
00:17:14.780 American people, regardless of your ideology,
00:17:18.280 regardless of whether you're a Democrat
00:17:19.460 or Republican, we need that advocacy.
00:17:22.600 It's not done yet, but unfortunately,
00:17:24.640 the uniparty forces in the swamp,
00:17:27.240 they're really at a zenith of power right now
00:17:29.520 with Democrats holding unified control
00:17:31.860 of the government.
00:17:33.320 So we talked a lot about how that's going to change
00:17:35.620 and Republicans are going to take over,
00:17:37.340 albeit through a disappointing midterm election.
00:17:40.320 I was at the Turning Point America Fest
00:17:43.000 in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:17:44.540 The rest of the show,
00:17:45.280 we're going to show you some clips from my speech.
00:17:47.420 I want you to know what I thought,
00:17:49.280 breaking down the midterms,
00:17:50.900 the Democrats, the Republicans,
00:17:52.700 and the lessons we should learn.
00:17:54.060 Here's some of my remarks from Turning Point.
00:17:55.440 These midterms did disappoint many of us,
00:18:01.500 but in a lot of ways, I don't blame the Democrats.
00:18:05.560 They did everything they could possibly do
00:18:08.380 to hand us this election.
00:18:10.520 They crashed the economy,
00:18:12.340 attacked American energy.
00:18:14.180 They were doing this weird, woke stuff
00:18:16.920 that is unmentionable in polite company.
00:18:19.860 We have no border at all.
00:18:24.200 Indeed, the Democrats did their part,
00:18:26.420 but I believe we deserved far better from Republicans,
00:18:30.240 and I am here tonight to talk about how to fix it.
00:18:33.420 Some say we should moderate,
00:18:39.660 paint in those pastel colors,
00:18:41.880 put the bold away,
00:18:43.400 embrace the meek,
00:18:45.000 less America first,
00:18:47.200 more Liz Cheney,
00:18:48.960 maybe shake the Bush family tree
00:18:53.200 and see what falls out.
00:18:54.540 My friends, the problem with slow surrender
00:19:00.940 as a political strategy
00:19:03.120 is that even when you win
00:19:05.740 with these establishment shills,
00:19:09.120 America still loses.
00:19:11.320 Was it really worth standing
00:19:13.400 with Republican governors
00:19:15.080 in Maryland, Ohio, and Arizona
00:19:17.760 who got elected preaching freedom
00:19:19.940 and then pushed lockdowns
00:19:22.100 and mandates on their people?
00:19:23.640 How foolish were they?
00:19:25.900 How foolish were we to tolerate it?
00:19:28.660 In Florida, if you're still wearing a mask,
00:19:30.940 we just assume you're hideous.
00:19:38.480 But on the big stuff,
00:19:40.760 the major challenges that we now face,
00:19:44.400 a Republican party with no sharp edges
00:19:47.580 will be manipulated, co-opted, and worthless.
00:19:51.280 Controlled opposition
00:19:53.480 just isn't going to cut it anymore.
00:19:56.240 And that's where I come in.
00:20:00.860 Just look.
00:20:02.380 Just look at what we learned this week.
00:20:05.640 The FBI has entire teams of people
00:20:08.700 dedicated to try to shape public opinion
00:20:12.240 on social media.
00:20:13.600 And we know about it at Twitter
00:20:16.100 because Elon bought Twitter.
00:20:17.800 But this same stuff is going on
00:20:20.180 at Meta, at Google, at Amazon.
00:20:23.360 They want to control what you see
00:20:26.000 so that they can ultimately control
00:20:28.020 how you behave.
00:20:29.800 This is not the proper role of government.
00:20:32.480 And any official who gave the orders
00:20:35.320 to try to manipulate
00:20:36.580 the political perspectives of American citizens
00:20:39.840 will be called to heel
00:20:41.300 before the House Judiciary Committee
00:20:42.900 in the coming weeks and months.
00:20:44.500 I don't plan on a whole lot of softball questions
00:20:55.180 and patty-cake games
00:20:56.880 with the corrupt deep state.
00:20:59.360 Relentless interrogation is what they deserve
00:21:02.920 and we should stand for no less.
00:21:04.620 We are back live.
00:21:09.880 Christine on Facebook says
00:21:11.100 we need new leadership.
00:21:12.500 Maggie on Getter says
00:21:13.860 defund the FBI.
00:21:15.480 That might be where this ultimately ends up.
00:21:18.040 And John on Rumble wants to know
00:21:20.060 why even AOC would vote for this bill
00:21:23.080 when the populist left claims
00:21:25.700 they are against all of these foreign entanglements.
00:21:29.220 You think they might actually show some opposition,
00:21:31.820 show some backbone.
00:21:32.660 But they have totally folded
00:21:34.700 and they intend to vote for this monstrosity.
00:21:37.400 So I think it's right to call out
00:21:39.260 the hypocrisy of AOC and the rest of the squad
00:21:42.040 for backing this legislation
00:21:43.940 that does so much
00:21:45.060 that we're just blatantly against their stated goals.
00:21:49.200 I also had an opportunity at Turning Point
00:21:52.120 to talk about changes in election laws.
00:21:54.300 And this is really important
00:21:55.360 because in a lot of places
00:21:56.840 people are getting blackpilled on politics
00:21:59.060 because they just say,
00:22:00.340 you know what,
00:22:00.760 we feel like our vote doesn't count.
00:22:02.800 It doesn't matter.
00:22:03.480 It's not going to be respected.
00:22:04.640 I believe that the sunshine state
00:22:07.760 can really shine a path forward.
00:22:10.840 And I talked to officials in Arizona about that.
00:22:14.280 Take a listen to those remarks
00:22:15.380 on changes to election law.
00:22:16.760 America first means actually putting the American voters first.
00:22:24.640 And our evolving tactics must draw us into central focus
00:22:29.740 on necessary changes to election laws.
00:22:33.360 To those of you from Maricopa County,
00:22:37.000 you don't have to live this way.
00:22:38.860 Arizona is a great state full of wonderful people.
00:22:46.460 But the election administration here,
00:22:49.360 wolf, it is embarrassing.
00:22:51.600 Brazil is a country with 214 million people.
00:22:56.200 Many of them live in the jungles of the Amazon in Brazil.
00:23:00.740 And they know who wins an election the next day.
00:23:05.240 Sometimes a single county in Arizona can take weeks.
00:23:10.020 This is the United States of America.
00:23:12.200 We are not a third world country.
00:23:14.380 It is time we start acting like the vibrant republic that we are,
00:23:18.620 and that means securing the integrity of our elections.
00:23:21.040 This can be done.
00:23:27.640 I know that it does not have to be this way
00:23:30.880 because it has never been this way.
00:23:34.320 We used to get election results on time.
00:23:37.240 We didn't have these problems.
00:23:38.920 Some of you may be old enough to remember back in 2000
00:23:42.600 when Florida was in the spotlight over the Bush v. Gore matter.
00:23:47.140 We had the hanging chads and the dimpled chads.
00:23:50.160 And what is astonishing to me reflecting back on that
00:23:54.760 is that it was actually embarrassing and an oddity
00:23:59.180 to not be able to quickly and precisely resolve your elections
00:24:03.480 within approximate time of the people voting.
00:24:06.440 And now you look at these elections
00:24:08.080 and you see like Jake Tapper on CNN saying,
00:24:10.720 well, we won't know Pennsylvania for weeks.
00:24:13.180 And I'm thinking, why is this?
00:24:15.300 Well, in Florida, we changed the laws.
00:24:19.000 And so if you are a state lawmaker,
00:24:21.760 if you have influence with our several states,
00:24:24.980 let's talk about some of the specific changes
00:24:27.480 that I think will help us combat this challenge going forward.
00:24:31.640 Florida, indeed, can be the nation's guidepost on this.
00:24:37.080 In Florida, we passed legislation that allows counties
00:24:40.500 to start counting mail-in ballots 22 days before the election.
00:24:44.060 Now think about how significant that is.
00:24:45.900 That means in smaller batches, we can actually look at the votes,
00:24:50.160 we can compare the signatures,
00:24:51.780 and you don't end up with some crazy circumstance in Wayne County, Michigan,
00:24:55.920 where somehow only in the urban areas they have laws and chain of custody
00:25:00.660 that only applies to them and not anyone else.
00:25:03.280 And it's the same story in Fulton County
00:25:05.720 and in the just absolute pitholes of election failure
00:25:09.920 that we should not have to tolerate in America.
00:25:12.280 In Florida, state law also requires that early voting ballots
00:25:17.040 be completed and counted before election day.
00:25:20.800 And then the results are immediately posted within 30 minutes of the election.
00:25:25.060 So there's not this, like, crazy guessing game
00:25:27.320 about finding out whose Aunt Irma works at the elections office
00:25:30.840 and where they might have, like, another bucket of 200 ballots.
00:25:35.260 Mail-in ballots have to be received by 7 p.m. on election day.
00:25:41.000 I can't even believe that's controversial.
00:25:43.740 We don't just mail them out either to every dead guy on the voter rolls.
00:25:48.560 In Florida, you have to actually have a real human being
00:25:51.680 that really requests one of these ballots.
00:25:54.440 We use paper ballots in Florida.
00:25:56.500 Imagine that.
00:25:57.300 And we do so because it was one of the demands of Florida Democrats.
00:26:02.080 Our machines are rigorously tested,
00:26:04.500 so we don't end up like Maricopa County,
00:26:06.700 where voting machines are breaking down
00:26:09.080 more than the ice cream machine at the McDonald's.
00:26:13.660 The other benefit of having, like, sane, real people election laws
00:26:18.660 is that if things go crazy and lawsuits start filing,
00:26:23.500 we might actually win some of them.
00:26:25.720 I know of what I speak.
00:26:27.880 In 2018, there was a serious effort
00:26:30.720 to steal the election in Florida
00:26:33.140 from Senator Rick Scott and Governor Ron DeSantis.
00:26:36.180 It was tens of thousands of ballots
00:26:38.380 in a universe of more than 8.5 million.
00:26:41.300 And when the local supervisors of elections
00:26:44.160 did not follow the law,
00:26:46.180 we were able to go immediately to court
00:26:48.740 against two supervisors,
00:26:50.840 have the judges issue injunctions,
00:26:52.760 and then there were no mystery ballots
00:26:55.140 that could be willed into existence
00:26:56.760 at some later time.
00:26:58.180 We treat ballots and voting like public records,
00:27:02.740 and our citizens have a constitutional right
00:27:04.780 to know what the hell is going on.
00:27:06.920 That should be the standard for America.
00:27:14.500 We are back live,
00:27:16.280 and some folks are suggesting in the comments section
00:27:18.480 that I pursue a bid for Speaker of the House.
00:27:21.220 I assure you that would not be successful.
00:27:24.140 I would not have the requisite support.
00:27:25.760 I would not have anywhere close to the requisite support.
00:27:28.700 But I am making a critique,
00:27:30.540 not just of one person,
00:27:32.620 but a corrupt institution in Washington, D.C.
00:27:35.860 And unfortunately,
00:27:37.760 that means we have to take a stand
00:27:39.480 and maybe have some turbulent days
00:27:41.380 at the beginning of January,
00:27:42.420 but it will be worth it
00:27:44.000 if we do not have Kevin McCarthy
00:27:46.040 unaccountable as Speaker of the House.
00:27:48.500 And I made that argument at Turning Point.
00:27:51.060 Take a listen.
00:27:51.560 So our laws and our tactics must change.
00:27:59.100 But some of our leaders must be changed, too.
00:28:05.560 Our ancestors,
00:28:07.920 out of love of country,
00:28:10.060 pledged their lives and their fortunes
00:28:12.660 and their sacred honor.
00:28:14.080 Is the best Congress can really do today
00:28:17.500 pledging a vote for Mitch McConnell or Kevin McCarthy?
00:28:23.620 I've had enough McFailure.
00:28:27.040 In football,
00:28:28.520 when the team doesn't win the games it's supposed to win,
00:28:32.680 they fire the coach.
00:28:34.660 In business,
00:28:35.640 when the company does not match its projected earnings,
00:28:39.360 then the board gets rid of the CEO.
00:28:41.460 And so in Republican politics,
00:28:44.640 maybe I'm not the crazy one
00:28:46.360 if I say that the people
00:28:47.800 who vastly underperformed expectations
00:28:50.600 shouldn't be promoted
00:28:52.300 to third in line to the presidency.
00:28:59.700 My friends,
00:29:00.800 I take no joy in sharing this with you,
00:29:03.920 but I'm going to tell you now
00:29:05.380 what every single Republican member of Congress
00:29:08.760 knows in their heart
00:29:10.060 whether they'll admit it or not.
00:29:12.880 Kevin McCarthy
00:29:13.820 believes in nothing.
00:29:17.360 I'm serious about that.
00:29:20.180 Nothing except money and power.
00:29:22.480 But he failed to deliver the power,
00:29:24.600 as promised.
00:29:25.580 And he got plenty of money,
00:29:26.780 some of it from Sam Bankman Freed.
00:29:29.340 But he believes in nothing.
00:29:31.960 And if we vote for him,
00:29:33.740 neither do we.
00:29:34.480 Peter Thiel called these midterm elections
00:29:38.340 depressingly disastrous.
00:29:41.480 But they are revealing
00:29:42.940 because we saw failure up close.
00:29:46.400 And as Tucker Carlson reminded us
00:29:48.320 at the beginning of this conference,
00:29:50.480 we must learn from this experience
00:29:52.640 and grow and be better.
00:29:55.520 Kevin McCarthy
00:29:56.260 calls his lobbyist-written platform
00:29:58.940 the commitment to America.
00:30:00.840 But Kevin doesn't keep his commitments.
00:30:04.300 Not to the Republican conference,
00:30:06.140 not to anyone,
00:30:07.160 but the lobbyists that fund campaigns.
00:30:09.480 Kevin isn't committed.
00:30:10.900 He is compromised
00:30:11.660 by the corrupt swamp.
00:30:13.960 And he's incoherent.
00:30:16.000 When you believe in nothing,
00:30:17.800 my friends,
00:30:18.420 you will settle on everything.
00:30:20.360 You'll farm out the work,
00:30:22.020 enrich your pals,
00:30:23.080 and maybe they'll even let you
00:30:24.360 crash their pad.
00:30:26.180 But I think Joe Biden
00:30:27.920 might actually be right
00:30:29.080 about one thing.
00:30:29.900 We are in a battle
00:30:32.960 for the soul of our country.
00:30:35.900 And Kevin is going into that battle
00:30:37.840 with soulless influence peddlers
00:30:40.280 by his side.
00:30:42.080 He isn't on this stage today
00:30:44.360 because I am pretty confident
00:30:45.840 he would get booed off of it.
00:30:47.440 I would be a great leader.
00:30:59.600 I just have no followers.
00:31:01.900 You say what you will about Trump,
00:31:04.000 but he actually believed in stuff,
00:31:05.880 making our country better.
00:31:07.460 His beliefs were so bold
00:31:09.820 that the media could not stop
00:31:11.760 obsessing about them or him
00:31:13.920 or all of us who supported him.
00:31:20.500 Trump's policies were so good,
00:31:22.760 Joe Biden's even trying
00:31:23.800 to copy him right now.
00:31:25.440 Banning TikTok
00:31:26.120 was initially a Trump initiative.
00:31:28.980 Domesticating manufacturing
00:31:30.700 was an issue set
00:31:32.320 that Trump talked about
00:31:33.500 way before anyone else
00:31:34.780 in American politics
00:31:35.860 had any type of vision for it.
00:31:37.660 And the Joe Biden
00:31:39.260 streamlining permitting bill
00:31:40.660 is essentially an extension
00:31:42.120 of the regulatory reform
00:31:43.780 instituted by President Trump.
00:31:46.080 These are indeed Trump's initiatives.
00:31:48.320 And now I fear, my friends,
00:31:50.020 we are in need of true vision.
00:31:53.140 Our politics cannot just be money
00:31:55.540 running through lobbyist luncheons
00:31:57.560 and sloganeering with focus groups.
00:32:00.120 Biden is 80 and totally senile.
00:32:03.140 So you tell me,
00:32:04.960 why is he kicking our ass
00:32:06.220 on this omnibus spending bill
00:32:07.760 right now?
00:32:08.960 It's because Kevin McCarthy
00:32:11.740 believes in nothing.
00:32:15.040 Here's what I believe.
00:32:16.620 I believe we should put budgets
00:32:18.140 on the floor of the House
00:32:19.360 that balance
00:32:20.200 and then we should vote for them.
00:32:21.640 I believe we should have
00:32:22.740 immigration laws
00:32:23.920 that we're serious about
00:32:25.300 and actually enforce.
00:32:26.540 And when people break those laws,
00:32:28.160 they should actually be deported
00:32:29.660 where they came from,
00:32:31.000 not be allowed to stick around
00:32:32.200 our country by the millions
00:32:34.020 starting the new wave
00:32:35.200 of chain migration.
00:32:38.560 I believe we ought to have
00:32:40.000 a full court press
00:32:41.280 against this weaponized government
00:32:43.480 that has been turned
00:32:44.520 against our people.
00:32:45.840 And if that means abolishing
00:32:47.100 every one of these
00:32:47.940 three-letter agencies
00:32:49.020 from the FBI to the ATF,
00:32:51.720 I'm ready to get going
00:32:53.080 and I've got my pencil.
00:32:54.440 I believe that we actually
00:33:04.000 ought to make voting easy
00:33:05.700 and cheating hard
00:33:06.980 and I believe we should not
00:33:08.380 sell out to powerful corporations
00:33:10.600 that pollute our water,
00:33:12.500 our skies,
00:33:13.340 or the digital marketplace
00:33:14.680 of ideas.
00:33:18.460 I'm grateful for your response
00:33:20.720 but I will admit
00:33:22.060 I am the most imperfect
00:33:24.360 of vessels
00:33:25.260 to be carrying this message.
00:33:27.560 Many of you prayed for me
00:33:28.740 and hoped for me
00:33:30.060 and I want you to know
00:33:31.280 how much that means to me.
00:33:33.740 Your faith in me
00:33:34.660 I truly hope to justify
00:33:36.260 each and every day
00:33:37.640 with service to you
00:33:40.020 and you alone.
00:33:45.860 President Trump proved
00:33:47.420 that even those of us
00:33:48.960 who have flaws
00:33:49.960 can fight back
00:33:51.320 against a corrupt system
00:33:52.800 without fear.
00:33:54.620 And so I will work
00:33:55.760 with anyone and everyone
00:33:57.560 to change this system
00:33:59.020 and to deliver results
00:34:00.300 for our brave patriots.
00:34:01.960 To stop the invasion
00:34:03.240 on our southern border,
00:34:04.740 to end wars
00:34:05.940 that drain our nation
00:34:07.360 of its treasure
00:34:08.200 and its bravest patriots,
00:34:09.860 to stop sending money
00:34:11.100 to Ukraine,
00:34:12.380 like,
00:34:12.980 somehow that's a bigger priority
00:34:16.200 than what's happening
00:34:16.920 to our people.
00:34:17.680 And certainly
00:34:19.340 to restrict unfair trade.
00:34:21.580 But we should not
00:34:22.960 move forward
00:34:23.760 beholden
00:34:25.040 to the legislative policy
00:34:27.120 written by Frank Luntz
00:34:29.040 on a bar napkin.
00:34:30.680 We should not be beholden
00:34:32.860 to the free speech policy
00:34:34.780 that was passed
00:34:35.820 to Kevin McCarthy
00:34:36.760 in exchange for money
00:34:38.460 from his best friend
00:34:39.960 Pfizer lobbyist.
00:34:41.060 And we should not
00:34:42.700 be beholden
00:34:43.580 to the political philosophy
00:34:45.420 of Kevin McCarthy
00:34:46.660 at all
00:34:47.420 because Kevin McCarthy
00:34:49.480 believes in nothing.
00:34:51.540 I believe in things
00:34:52.800 and I know you do too.
00:34:54.360 We've got a country
00:34:55.220 to save.
00:34:56.000 You can fight with me
00:34:56.940 any day of the week,
00:34:57.800 Turning Point.
00:34:58.460 Let's go get them.
00:34:59.380 Man, that was fun.
00:35:09.860 Special thanks
00:35:10.560 to Charlie Kirk
00:35:11.900 and the entire team
00:35:13.020 at Turning Point
00:35:13.860 for putting on
00:35:14.940 just a terrific opportunity
00:35:16.680 for collaboration
00:35:17.560 and discussion
00:35:18.440 of ideas.
00:35:19.400 And thank you so much
00:35:20.360 for joining me.
00:35:21.580 We're going to be fighting
00:35:22.240 against this omnibus
00:35:23.800 spending legislation
00:35:24.900 and the corrupt system
00:35:27.040 that allows that
00:35:28.100 to continue to happen
00:35:29.120 to our people.
00:35:30.340 Thanks for joining me.
