00:03:04.980 Yeah, so for your audience, for anyone listening, you know, that doesn't really know what this is. So title fraud or title theft is essentially where scammers and thieves are taking advantage of this loophole in our legal system. They're going and filing some documents at the county recorder level that the county can't turn away as long as they're filled out properly.
00:03:26.520 And essentially what they're doing is they're taking these documents that are meant for a purpose, right?
00:03:31.660 They're generally a quick claim deed is what is used, even though there are a few different ways they can do it.
00:03:36.780 They're filing this document, which generally is used to, you know, transfer ownership between family members or, you know, when there isn't money being changed in hands.
00:03:46.880 It's essentially transferring your ownership.
00:03:48.360 They're filing these documents. No one at the county office is required by law to authenticate notary stamps or, you know, make sure some of them will require ID.
00:03:58.900 But that's very, very easy to fake. And once this is filed, essentially what happens is your ownership is in the scammers hands and then they can go out and take loans against the property or even sell your home behind your back in a lot of cases that we've seen.
00:04:13.720 And it's very easy to commit and very, very hard to unwind.

00:04:18.940 Yeah, people aren't, you know, breaking in and stealing your stuff, but they're taking ownership on paper.

00:04:28.300 So what does a home title lock do that can protect you from, God, something like this happening?

00:04:36.520 So sadly and unfortunately, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, the crime can't be prevented.
00:04:43.240 the actual crime of the fraud, the paperwork being filed at the county. No company that claims to be
00:04:49.200 able to do that is telling the truth, because unfortunately, what would keep that from happening
00:04:53.060 are changes to the law itself, right? Our legal system is very outdated. The Freedom of Information
00:05:00.580 Act created this process back in the, what was it, 1967. So everything's very outdated. But
00:05:06.220 what we do as a company is we are not only monitoring and alerts, what we call our million

00:05:45.780 this. It's very sad, very scary. What he would do is he would transfer ownership and then he would
00:05:50.240 go and take out multiple hard money loans in a day and all of a sudden disappears because he did
00:05:54.880 this under a fake name and then the homeowners can't unwind it. So what we do that's different
00:05:59.560 is we're monitoring, but we're most importantly restoration. So we'll spend up to a million
00:06:03.900 dollars to jump in and fix the fraud, whether that's just getting the home back in your name,
00:06:09.480 which a lot of people don't realize takes a long time it's a lot of legal process you can't just
00:06:14.400 walk into accounting and say hey this is fraud tear it up nope once it's on record you have to
00:06:19.040 get it seen before a judge i would just i would just go and do exactly what they did to someone
00:06:23.760 else's house you'd think but the thing is what it is is it's that's horrible yes it is we we're
00:06:32.080 it's joke we're all joking right of course no but this is this is very serious and and unfortunately
00:06:37.680 you can't just go in and get it taken off because at the point where someone else's ownership is on
00:06:42.800 record your title is now clouded right this can cause problems for mortgages being taken out

00:09:16.600 oh well i have you know credit monitoring identity protection if someone takes out a loan in my name
00:09:21.360 like I'm covered. The thing is, when they're transferring your ownership, this isn't in your
00:09:25.480 name anymore. They're transferring it out of your name. What they're doing is they're utilizing the
00:09:29.500 property for collateral. So we monitor the property, not the person. So anything that
00:09:34.380 comes in will have to do with that. And then with our restoration, again, million dollar
00:09:38.700 triple lock protection, we have a team of legal experts that we have built across the entire U.S.
00:09:46.060 to make sure that whatever state one of our victims is in, we are ready to jump in and fix

00:10:15.460 in Florida. Um, but because the guy was, you know, a lot older, he wasn't really paying attention to
00:10:20.620 his notifications uh found out a little bit too late money had been transferred someone posted
00:10:26.220 the property on you know the the place where you go to look at all the houses and the property it
00:10:31.480 can't say the name but it's there and he posted it for sale sold it cash to someone uh money had
00:10:37.980 exchanged hands the moment that the son started getting you know calls about this property being
00:10:43.200 posted online they were looking into it found out they had home title lock we jumped in and and
00:10:48.040 luckily got everything taken care of um and not luckily as in we can't do it but luckily as in
00:10:55.120 we caught it before it went you know so far to the point where they're getting bulldozers in
00:10:59.920 the property clear and stuff out and trying to build a new house right um but but that's what
00:11:04.640 we do and why we do what we do about 10 percent of the counties in the u.s do have their own
00:11:10.240 monitoring software um but you're you're going to have the same problem as if you didn't have
00:11:14.680 something in the first place, because if you're a victim and you go in, they're going to say,
00:11:18.500 hey, get a lawyer and go get it seen before a judge. And they're not going to help you with
00:11:22.240 anything. So the home title lock difference is us being there for the homeowner. Yeah. Especially
00:11:28.600 in this day and age where you have so much of your, well, your properties, digital information
00:11:35.040 available for people out there. I would assume years ago, it must've been a lot harder to get

00:13:22.520 pet parrot 89 year old man oh my god devastating just a nightmare yeah we get stories like this
