Donald Trump has been convicted of 34 felonies in a grand jury investigation in New York City. Now what does this mean for the future of the 2020 election? Is he eligible to run for president? And if so, who will be the next president?
00:06:44.300Must be nice to vote for a political party that actually follows through, no matter how destructive those policies are.
00:06:51.420And so what we see here is obviously a jury that was designed to go ahead and convict Trump with a set of laws that are not really supposed to be applied to Trump in this scenario and create a large amount of charges to go ahead and try to make it very difficult for him to run for president.
00:07:58.820And I have been told repeatedly by many people, very responsible conservatives, very upstanding conservatives, respected conservatives, that my use of things like the friend enemy distinction, that my understanding and pointing out things like the constitutional order is over.
00:08:19.080That rule of law is over and we are in the realm of pure Machiavellian politics at this point, that that was super dangerous, that we weren't allowed to talk about that.
00:08:30.580We weren't allowed to notice that the most dangerous thing was not that we were being threatened with a knife.
00:08:35.040The most dangerous thing is noticing that we were being threatened with a knife.
00:08:39.800It's the most dangerous part was not that we were in a knife fight and we need to figure out how to fight back.
00:08:44.340The most important thing was not to notice the knife.
00:08:47.300I've been told this over and over again, that if we just didn't notice what the Democrats were doing, we just didn't notice what had been done to the United States.
00:08:56.240If we just didn't pay attention, if we hit our heads in the sand and we talked about principles, then eventually the Democrats would stop doing this.
00:09:19.980But ultimately, he believed that the elites had enough self-discipline to realize that if they tore that last little shred of social fabric, if they burned that last little bit of social fabric, if they destroyed the last fig leaf of rule of law and constitutional order away,
00:09:38.600that they would be completely throwing the stability of their regime into chaos, he believed that they were competent enough to hold themselves back.
00:13:28.200I just did a story yesterday, I just did my column this week, about the appeal to heaven flag and how they're attacking Alito and Thomas yet again.
00:13:36.900And if that seems weirdly timed to you, if you were confused about why all of a sudden they were once again manufacturing the most ridiculous things possible to try to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court,
00:14:41.200If we had competent elites, they simply would have allowed Trump to get elected and then smother his second term in bureaucracy, much like they did the first.
00:14:53.360And they would have let the Trump mania peter out and they would have moved on to Mitt Romney's or something again.
00:14:58.820But we are not ruled by competent elites.
00:15:06.340They can't even be evil and competent.
00:15:08.500We at least used to have people who were good at this, but they're not there anymore.
00:15:11.740They've been replaced by the next generation of true believers and degenerated children who are completely unworthy of the legacy and the machine that they inherited.
00:15:23.360They don't have the self-control necessary to stop themselves from just burning this all down.
00:16:03.500We're so through the looking glass that we would make the most ridiculous parodies of a Soviet totalitarian state look like a joke.
00:16:14.140Like that's where we're at at this point where there is no scenario off the table where, yeah, no, totally.
00:16:19.780We could be in a scenario where the sitting president jails his opposition and then mocks them for not being able to show up to the debate because they locked him in prison.
00:16:30.160We could literally be in that scenario.
00:16:35.960And so we're really in a position where we can't bet against the idea that Donald Trump will end up in jail, though I am, again, doubtful.
00:16:44.920The crimes that he was charged with are already pretty thin, could went uphill.
00:16:51.060Even if he is sentenced, the sentencing is likely to be suspended for some duration of the trial, or he could be basically given a slap on the wrist because ultimately the charges are so manufactured that they don't even carry a minimum penalty, I believe.
00:17:05.620And so therefore it would it would be very easy for them to to go ahead and convict Trump, but not really punish him.
00:17:14.320And ultimately, that's what a lot of these people wanted.
00:17:16.200Right. They just wanted to be able to say the Republican Party has has nominated a convicted felon.
00:19:29.800I think that ultimately him being convicted in this way actually increases his sympathy.
00:19:34.880I think even with uncommitted voters and even a few people on the left that are like, I don't know, man, this is too far.
00:19:42.600I think that this does increase the chances of, you know, his poll numbers support.
00:19:48.600I think ultimately that does move things in his favor.
00:19:51.740But if you just watch what happened in a courtroom and you actually watch what happened in 2020 and you think that a fair election is coming back, you have lost your mind.
00:20:05.200That is the most insane cope I have ever heard of in my life.
00:20:07.880You think that these guys would manufacture charges that they would create out of whole cloth?
00:20:16.580An application of the law with the explicit goal of keeping Donald Trump from running for president, that they would go out of their way to try to remove him from the ballot by making up some narrative about insurrection.
00:20:32.200Especially after everything you saw in 2020.
00:20:34.100And if you, again, if you need to go back and see evidence of what happened in 2020, read Molly Hemingway's excellent book, Rig, which doesn't come into, it doesn't make any kind of conspiracy theories.
00:20:44.620It's not, you know, whether or not a bunch of votes got dumped somewhere at 3 a.m., that's not her argument.
00:20:50.800Her argument is in a very provable and fundamental way.
00:20:53.820There was an open air, you know, organization of different actors, what we would call a conspiracy, to keep Donald Trump from getting elected in 2020.
00:21:10.720And it's not something, again, you don't have to be some wacky guy without, you know, you don't have to Alex Jones it with a tinfoil hat.
00:21:16.720Though they had me on Infowars recently, so thanks, guys.
00:21:19.940But you don't have to be that person to just acknowledge the obvious facts, the enumerated facts in a book like Molly Hemingway's.
00:21:29.020Somebody who's a serious journalist or respected journalist, not some firebrand, somebody who's had a level head and a lot of credibility.
00:21:35.920Can bring together and point out that, no, like, the 2020 election was absolutely one that was manipulated on a large scale by social media, by large Democratic donors, by a process that was completely corrupted intentionally from the top down.
00:21:52.180And you really think that this is going to be a scenario where, like, it all just gets fixed in November?
00:23:52.120Hit for tat is the only thing that keeps things in alignment.
00:23:55.240And by the way, that's what the Constitution says, too.
00:23:58.380The checks and balances aren't magical.
00:24:00.760The whole point of the checks and balances are that two sides will want things so badly that they will check each other.
00:24:06.920But if one side is completely given up and the other side is going and doing anything and everything to win, then there is no deterrent.
00:24:15.280The whole idea of the pendulum swinging back being the reason that you don't invest power into the government is that at some point the pendulum has to swing, which means you have to take action, which means you have to punish your political enemy.
00:24:29.460If you are not doing that and the other side is, they will win and you will lose, period.
00:26:39.120You need to be punishing political enemies.
00:26:41.240If you're a member of the Democratic Party and you supported this action against Donald Trump and you have one hair out of place, you need to go to jail.
00:26:50.160If you have made one mistake that a prosecutor can go ahead and push you on, you need to go to jail.
00:42:01.440Again, I think that there is a certain truth to the fact that ultimately they don't believe that any of these institutions belong to us anymore.
00:42:11.020They don't think that they serve the country.
00:42:13.000They only serve the interests of the managerial elite.
00:42:15.600And, of course, there is some truth to that.
00:42:17.260But ultimately, I think that you have to recognize that the country is not just the institution.
00:45:01.460I would say that there was pretty obviously extreme effort because of Trump and because of the threat they felt like he actually represented, even though I don't think he did at all.
00:45:11.600Ultimately, I think that there was a huge effort in coordinated to seriously alter the rules.
00:45:17.960Much of it above board in some ways, you know, and not not not perhaps the midnight of ballot dump that many people have speculated.
00:45:27.220But again, if you want to get references for that, I think Molly Hemingway's book is the place to go.
00:46:11.220I know Governor DeSantis has worked to clean up voter rolls and show up the process in states like Florida.
00:46:16.280But he was going to win that everywhere anyway.
00:46:18.000So that's not really where it has to take place.
00:46:20.460Gail, thanks for the definition or the donation, but I'm going to skip that one just to be super safe because, you know, it is election season and censorship is going to be everywhere.
00:46:33.200Old Sean or 01 Sean 01 says it's too late to appeal to red state politicians to start arresting political enemies.
00:47:24.140But ultimately, I think you can do all of this legally with legal justification backing you every step of the way.
00:47:29.400You just have to actually enforce the law as it's written.
00:47:32.120You just have to actually take the steps that you can take.
00:47:34.800You need to have the courage as a Republican executive or as an attorney general or as a prosecutor to go ahead and apply the law the way that it should be applied.
00:47:47.960So that said, guys, I'm going to go ahead and wrap this up.
00:47:56.820Remember that Christ is king and ultimately that his will be done.
00:48:03.600And the biggest thing that you can do is, once again, focus on your family, focus on the well-being of your community, make things better locally.
00:48:13.520You may not be able to change everything that's happening nationally, and that's okay.
00:48:18.760That's not ultimately where your peace comes from.
00:48:21.820That doesn't mean that you shouldn't do anything.
00:48:25.220I'm just saying that remember ultimately what matters.
00:48:28.940And what matters is the good you can do around you.
00:48:31.600And if that means that you can lend your aid to brave politicians who will take action or that you yourself can be a brave politician that takes action, then that's fantastic.
00:48:42.540But try not to get blackpilled on a bunch of stuff happening far away.
00:48:48.180Try to do the best to care for the people around you.
00:49:23.400You should read this because it really is the best case, the most coherent case I can make to tell you how liberal democracies became tyrannies, how we got here, why the things that are happening are happening.
00:49:36.160I'm doing my best in one show, but the book obviously lays it out in a very thorough case in a way that I hope is helpful to people at crazy times like this.
00:49:45.900Thank you so much, guys, for watching.
00:49:49.360The audience is really amazing, and I really appreciate your support.
00:49:53.300I hope all of you, again, just take care of your families and your communities, and you do your best in moments like this to go ahead and rally around each other.
00:50:01.420Thanks for watching, guys, and as always, I'll talk to you next time.
