The Ben Shapiro Show - Angry Old Man Screams At Americans | Ep. 1664

00:00:00.000 Joe Biden gives an endless State of the Union address in which he lies repeatedly and yells at Americans about how democracy is finished unless we spend endless amounts of money and the media predictably gush.

00:00:10.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:10.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:23.000 So, last night is one of the worst events in American life.

00:00:25.000 The State of the Union address.

00:00:26.000 Yes, I hate it with the fiery passion of a thousand suns.

00:00:29.000 Doesn't matter who the president is.

00:00:30.000 I've said a thousand times, I despise the State of the Union address.

00:00:33.000 It's a monarchic institution that has nothing to do with the actual constitutional mandate for a State of the Union statement.

00:00:39.000 He could have signed a letter and been done with it.

00:00:41.000 Instead, we sat through an old man yelling at clouds for an hour.

00:00:43.000 If you missed the speech last night, I'm going to give you the real brief version right now.

00:00:47.000 All you have to do, just to relive it, head on over to your local old age home, find a slightly deranged geriatric, and let him yell at you about airline fees for about an hour. 0.61

00:00:55.000 That's pretty much what it was last night.

00:00:57.000 Now, there was always some drama.

00:00:59.000 You had some Republicans in the chamber who were yelling at the president.

00:01:02.000 You had Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example, who seemed to be wearing a Cruella de Vil coat, yelling at the president of the United States.

00:01:08.000 She was actually carrying a balloon beforehand.

00:01:10.000 You had Kyrsten Sinema, who's dressed up like Big Bird.

00:01:12.000 There were some theatrics that were involved.

00:01:15.000 Mitt Romney, before the speech, went over to George Santos and told him he didn't belong in the chamber, and then went and clapped with all the Democrats. 1.00

00:01:20.000 It was just... Everyone is stupid, and everything is stupid, and I am never more cynical than I am the morning after the State of the Union address, especially given the fact that the media praised this thing to the skies. 0.99

00:01:30.000 Apparently Joe Biden was unbelievable, according to our genius members of the Praetorian Guard media. 1.00

00:01:35.000 He did an amazing job.

00:01:36.000 I will let you judge, however, for yourself how the President of the United States did.

00:01:40.000 So they shot him full of amphetamines or something, and then he came on stage.

00:01:45.000 And as you can see, he's looking all weird.

00:01:48.000 He's looking a lot older than he did even when he took office.

00:01:52.000 He's 80 years old now.

00:01:53.000 If he were to run for and win re-election, he would be 86 years old in his last year in office, which is really, really old.

00:02:01.000 And he is not, like, a good 80.

00:02:03.000 He is a not amazing 80.

00:02:04.000 I know a lot of 80-year-olds who are in better shape than Joe Biden.

00:02:07.000 Joe Biden showed it last night.

00:02:09.000 There was an attempt to, again, maintain that the bar is so low that if he crosses it, like, if he speaks basic English without botching it too much, that this is a big win for him.

00:02:19.000 Anyway, he starts off this speech by botching a joke about Chuck Schumer.

00:02:24.000 And it was kind of downhill from there.

00:02:26.000 Here we go.

00:02:28.000 Congratulations to Chuck Schumer.

00:02:29.000 Another, uh, you know, another term is Senate Minority Leader.

00:02:36.000 You know, I think you, uh, only this time you have a slightly bigger majority, Mr. Leader.

00:02:41.000 You're the Majority Leader.

00:02:43.000 About that much bigger?

00:02:45.000 Well, I tell you what.

00:02:47.000 I tell you what, that is not good.

00:02:49.000 So you have Chuck Schumer cracking his Joker grin, and you have Joe Biden wandering through cornfields, and Kamala Harris sitting in the background like, man.

00:02:58.000 The chances that he keels over the middle of the speech are not insignificant.

00:03:01.000 Kamala's like, maybe I'll become president tonight.

00:03:03.000 She was pretty excited last night.

00:03:05.000 So, the speech broke down into a few parts.

00:03:08.000 Part one was, what an amazing job Joe Biden has done.

00:03:12.000 And nobody actually believes this.

00:03:13.000 By the polling data, he's still in the low 40s in terms of approval rating.

00:03:16.000 People are very skeptical about the state of the economy.

00:03:19.000 He told a bunch of whoppers right here.

00:03:21.000 He made claims without context.

00:03:23.000 And the Democrats all stood up and cheered, of course.

00:03:25.000 So he began by touting his economic record.

00:03:29.000 And here, the lies just began.

00:03:31.000 And they really didn't stop the whole way.

00:03:34.000 Two years ago, the economy was reeling.

00:03:37.000 I stand here tonight, after we've created, with the help of many people in this room, 12 million new jobs.

00:03:43.000 More jobs created in two years than any president's created in four years.

00:03:47.000 And two years ago, COVID had shut down, our businesses were closed, our schools were robbed of so much, and today, COVID no longer controls our lives.

00:03:58.000 Okay, so, again, the number of lies packed into that fairly short segment, I mean, that is about a 25-second clip.

00:04:06.000 The number of lies there?

00:04:07.000 A lot.

00:04:08.000 So, number one, he says, two years ago, our economy was reeling.

00:04:12.000 Well, actually, actually, Two years ago was February of 2021.

00:04:16.000 The recovery had already begun by February of 2021.

00:04:19.000 And when he says that he has created a record 12 million new jobs, he, of course, is ignoring the fact that we had the greatest artificially induced economic coma of all time in 2020.

00:04:28.000 And so if you look at a chart of employment destruction and creation, what it looks like is employment is going like this under Trump and then bam, it falls directly off the table.

00:04:36.000 And then In the last months of the Trump presidency, it spikes back up and it's going right back toward the line where it was before and then it sort of levels off.

00:04:43.000 And so we're missing all these jobs between where we could have been if Joe Biden weren't a terrible economic president and where we are.

00:04:50.000 But he says he's responsible for all the job creation from something he had nothing to do with.

00:04:55.000 Well, I really dislike it when presidents declare, of either party by the way, that they create jobs.

00:04:59.000 No, you don't.

00:05:01.000 You don't.

00:05:01.000 I don't see you hiring all 300 of our employees here at Daily Wire.

00:05:04.000 We created those jobs, and really, our consumers created those jobs.

00:05:09.000 You had nothing to do with it.

00:05:09.000 All you do is siphon off a bunch of money from us and from our consumers.

00:05:13.000 That's what you do.

00:05:14.000 You steal the money from the people, and then you give it to your favorite political causes.

00:05:18.000 So don't pretend that the government is a quote-unquote job creator.

00:05:21.000 The government can be a job killer, but it takes actual individual human beings to create jobs. 1.00

00:05:28.000 I hate that shortish dick. 1.00

00:05:29.000 That's not the only lie there either. 1.00

00:05:30.000 Then he says, two years ago, COVID shut down our businesses and closed our schools and robbed it.

00:05:35.000 Well, it didn't do it by itself, dude.

00:05:37.000 I mean, to be fair, you did that thing.

00:05:40.000 Twas thee.

00:05:42.000 It's an absurdity that all these people who are responsible for shutting down the economy are now claiming that they had nothing to do with any of it.

00:05:50.000 It's just bizarrely magical.

00:05:53.000 COVID just, did you know that COVID shut down our entire economy?

00:05:56.000 Because I remember government actors, where I was living in California, literally saying you could not go into your place of work.

00:06:02.000 So a lot of lies just in the first couple of minutes of Joe Biden's speech.

00:06:05.000 We're gonna continue with that in just one second.

00:06:08.000 First, The simple fact of the matter is you can't trust Joe Biden, obviously.

00:06:12.000 And why would you trust Joe Biden and his minions not to spy on you online?

00:06:16.000 Because they are.

00:06:17.000 I mean, the members of the government, they are spying on you online.

00:06:19.000 They're checking on what you do.

00:06:21.000 They're coordinating with big tech.

00:06:22.000 It's a really perverse relationship.

00:06:23.000 They wear can and glove together.

00:06:25.000 Why would you let them grab your data?

00:06:26.000 You don't like them and they don't like you very much.

00:06:28.000 So stop letting them grab your data.

00:06:30.000 Instead, head on over to ExpressVPN.

00:06:32.000 Big government would love to have all that data. 1.00

00:07:14.000 Okay, so Joe Biden is going through his great achievements.

00:07:16.000 His great achievements apparently include being alive and things happening, right?

00:07:20.000 Because that's what happened when the jobs were created again.

00:07:24.000 And also, apparently, saving democracy, right?

00:07:26.000 This is one that gives him self-credit for.

00:07:28.000 He keeps talking.

00:07:29.000 This is his shtick.

00:07:30.000 He did this during the election cycle.

00:07:32.000 He did it post the election cycle.

00:07:33.000 This notion that his presidency stood between America and the abyss, that American democracy has been in serious danger for the last several years because a bunch of droogs decided that they were going to run into the Capitol building and get themselves arrested. 1.00

00:07:46.000 He did that routine again last night.

00:07:48.000 He's going to continue doing this until he's no longer president.

00:07:51.000 Years ago, democracy faced its greatest threats in the Civil War, and today, though bruised, our democracy remains unbowed and unbroken.

00:07:59.000 Okay, how many words did he slur in that particular clip?

00:08:01.000 Let us count the ways.

00:08:03.000 Democracy.

00:08:05.000 Are you guys fans of democracy?

00:08:06.000 I'm a fan of democracy.

00:08:08.000 How about you?

00:08:10.000 Essentially, this speech, and it was more than an hour, was one long word punctuated by, come on, man, and then random yelling at Republicans.

00:08:18.000 So that was good.

00:08:19.000 He then explained how he thought the 2022 election went.

00:08:22.000 Apparently, the clear message from the 2022 election is bipartisanship.

00:08:25.000 And this is one of these schticks that Biden really does that's grating as all hell.

00:08:28.000 He says, I'm a bipartisan guy.

00:08:30.000 I like working across the other side of the aisle.

00:08:32.000 Also, all of my opponents are responsible for Paul Pelosi being hit in the head with a hammer.

00:08:36.000 He literally said that at the end of the speech.

00:08:38.000 But we'll get to that in a moment.

00:08:39.000 Here's Joe Biden talking about how the message is we all have to work together.

00:08:43.000 Also, my Republican opponents are the worst people on earth.

00:08:46.000 I think the people sent us a clear message.

00:08:48.000 Fighting for the sake of fighting.

00:08:50.000 Power for the sake of power.

00:08:52.000 Conflict for the sake of conflict gets us nowhere.

00:08:55.000 That's always been my vision of our country, and I know it's many of yours.

00:08:59.000 To restore the soul of this nation.

00:09:00.000 This old doof is not restoring the soul of anything.

00:09:03.000 I'm really sick of the religious language that is placed around politics.

00:09:06.000 It makes me kind of nauseous.

00:09:08.000 You used to get this with Barack Obama also.

00:09:10.000 You remember Michelle Obama said that Barack Obama was going to restore the soul of our nation, but apparently it has to be done repeatedly.

00:09:15.000 Apparently we all have exorcised, we have to exorcise our demons every so often with a democratic president.

00:09:19.000 So Barack Obama was going to restore the soul of the nation, and then apparently Donald Trump stole the soul or something, and now Joe Biden is back here.

00:09:25.000 If you think this corrupt old politician is going to save the soul of the nation, you have another think coming. 0.98

00:09:30.000 It is very, very silly, and it's insulting, and again, it's a substitute of politics for religion, which is in and of itself blasphemous. 0.97

00:09:36.000 And then he got to inflation, and of course he's going to claim that he's done a great job on inflation. 0.91

00:09:40.000 He'd done this clip five.

00:09:43.000 Inflation has been a global problem because the pandemic disrupted our supply chains and Putin's unfair and brutal war in Ukraine disrupted energy supplies as well as food supplies, blocking all that grain in Ukraine.

00:09:59.000 But we're better positioned than any country on earth right now.

00:10:02.000 But we have more to do.

00:10:04.000 But here at home, inflation is coming down.

00:10:07.000 Yeah, this is inspiring, inspiring words from a very, very shouty president of the United States.

00:10:12.000 Again, everything bad that happens is an extraneous event.

00:10:16.000 And everything good that happens is Joe Biden's massive accomplishment.

00:10:19.000 So it doesn't matter that inflation preceded the war in Ukraine.

00:10:23.000 It doesn't matter that Joe Biden accelerated the inflation by pouring money on the giant gas fire of inflation.

00:10:29.000 It doesn't matter that inflation rates is coming down.

00:10:31.000 Inflation is still in December at 6.5%.

00:10:34.000 We aim for 2% from the Federal Reserve.

00:10:36.000 So that means that it is approximately 325% higher than it should be normally.

00:10:41.000 So just really well done there.

00:10:44.000 But Joe Biden has a solution.

00:10:45.000 Then we get into Section 2 of the speech.

00:10:46.000 So Section 1 is all of my massive accomplishments, and everybody's looking around going, what?

00:10:50.000 And then we get to Section 2 of the speech.

00:10:53.000 Since he's done such an amazing job, and since the American public failed to put Republicans in charge of the Senate, largely because Republicans decided to raid the local homeless shelter for candidates, Joe Biden believes that he now has a mandate to, wait for it, wait for it, spend more money.

00:11:05.000 Yes, you didn't see that coming, did you?

00:11:07.000 Joe Biden, the greatest spender in American history, wants to spend more money.

00:11:11.000 So he laid out a wish list of things that he wishes to spend money on.

00:11:15.000 And the answer is pretty much everything.

00:11:16.000 Because as you know, folks, when you got a $32 trillion national debt, When your debt-to-GDP ratio is now running at 125, 130%, what we need to do, clearly, is spend more.

00:11:27.000 When we have inflation raging at 6.5%, what we need is to spend more money.

00:11:32.000 I mean, any genius will tell you this, even if his hair plugs, which are now falling out, even if they've grown directly into his brainstem.

00:11:39.000 Here is the President of the United States, and he's going to tell you about all the different ways he's going to spend money that he either creates from thin air to inflate the currency, or that he's going to seize from you.

00:11:47.000 And when we do these projects, And again, I get criticized for this, but I make no excuses for it.

00:11:54.000 We're going to buy American.

00:11:54.000 What was that?

00:11:56.000 We're going to buy American.

00:11:57.000 We're going to buy Aminu.

00:12:00.000 Yeah.

00:12:05.000 And it's totally, it's totally consistent with international trade rules.

00:12:11.000 Why America has been the law since 1933, but for too long, past administrations, Democrat and Republican, have fought to get around it.

00:12:19.000 Not anymore.

00:12:21.000 Tonight, I'm announcing new standards that require all construction materials used in federal infrastructure projects to be made in America.

00:12:31.000 Expensive stuff!

00:12:31.000 Yeah!

00:12:32.000 You pay for it, my friends!

00:12:33.000 Woo! 0.99

00:12:35.000 So, let me explain something about the autarky-driven nature of what he's talking about.

00:12:39.000 You get to pay for all that.

00:12:41.000 When he says, buy American, what he essentially means is that we should spend more money as taxpayers for things, quote-unquote, made in America, and it'll cost you.

00:12:50.000 He's not paying for anything.

00:12:50.000 You're the one who's gonna have to pay.

00:12:51.000 He doesn't pay for things.

00:12:53.000 He's a government bureaucrat who's been on the dole for the last 60 years of his life.

00:12:57.000 Come on.

00:12:58.000 Come on.

00:12:59.000 Well, you know, if we're talking about people who are dependent on your dollars, you know who else is dependent on your dollars?

00:13:04.000 Woke corporations.

00:13:05.000 They actually are dependent on your dollars, which really begs the question as to why you are spending your dollars with corporations that hate your guts and then use your money against you.

00:13:13.000 I will tell you about a company that's not going to do that.

00:13:14.000 That is pure talk.

00:13:15.000 So, it turns out that Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, these are all run by people who do not like you very much.

00:13:19.000 They don't like your politics.

00:13:20.000 They spend money on political causes you don't approve of.

00:13:22.000 PeerTalk is not that.

00:13:23.000 Proudly veteran-owned, employs a U.S.-based customer service team, and absolutely refuses to spend money on things like woke news networks.

00:13:30.000 PeerTalk's service is excellent.

00:14:08.000 Okay, speaking of things that he wants to spend money on, he was touting the Inflation Reduction Act, was the president of the United States, slurring his words all the way through.

00:14:15.000 And we'll get to the media reaction afterward.

00:14:17.000 It is amazing how many people in the media, whose professional job it is to look good on TV and say words in coherent fashion, We're able to pretend that Joe Biden was articulate last night.

00:14:27.000 He could not get through a sentence without stumbling all over himself like one of the three stooges in a studio laden with banana peels. 0.72

00:14:34.000 But apparently he did an amazing job.

00:14:35.000 Here he was explaining that the Inflation Reduction Act has been a massive boon.

00:14:40.000 What are you going to get money to pay for those medical bills?

00:14:43.000 Are you going to have to sell the house or try to get a second mortgage on it?

00:14:47.000 I get it.

00:14:48.000 I get it.

00:14:48.000 No you don't.

00:14:50.000 With the Inflation Reduction Act that I signed into law, we're taking on powerful interest to bring healthcare costs down so you can sleep better at night.

00:14:59.000 And my favorite thing about the speech is where he proclaims that he's bringing costs down while bringing you historically high inflation, like 40-year highs in inflation.

00:15:06.000 Of course, he had time to rip on Big Pharma, which is a laugh.

00:15:10.000 As Candace Owens pointed out last night on our backstage, no one has made Big Pharma richer than a man who attempted to literally force 80 million people in the United States to vaccinate against their will.

00:15:20.000 Pfizer is very, very wealthy because President Joe Biden exists.

00:15:25.000 Here we go.

00:15:26.000 Big Pharma has been unfairly charging people hundreds of dollars, four to five hundred dollars a month, making record profits.

00:15:36.000 Not anymore.

00:15:37.000 And now what he's actually talking about here is he's trying to make the case that basically we should use the power of the federal government to crack down on the prices that are charged by the pharmaceutical companies for their drugs.

00:15:47.000 Now, here's the problem with that.

00:15:49.000 All the other countries on earth with state-run systems bargain with the drug companies in order to drive the price down.

00:15:56.000 They can only do that because we pay high prices.

00:15:58.000 They are free riders.

00:15:59.000 What we actually should do is if we're going to declare a trade war, this is one area where we actually should.

00:16:04.000 We should force other countries to pay what the drugs are worth because what's happening right now is that essentially because we pay them more money through the private markets, all the big pharma companies are located in the United States.

00:16:13.000 That is the reason.

00:16:15.000 All medical development on planet Earth, essentially, is done in the United States, and that is for a reason.

00:16:19.000 There are trade-offs in policy.

00:16:20.000 This is one of them.

00:16:21.000 You could get cheaper drugs from Big Pharma.

00:16:23.000 Also, R&D would absolutely stop, and you just would not have new drugs.

00:16:27.000 This is the bargain that people are cutting.

00:16:29.000 But put policy aside, again, this guy saying that he wishes to impoverish Big Pharma is a joke.

00:16:34.000 He has made Big Pharma richer than any president in American history, so far as I'm aware.

00:16:39.000 But he didn't just tout the Inflation Reduction Act because it was going after Big Pharma, supposedly.

00:16:44.000 Also, he says we're tackling climate.

00:16:45.000 Yay! 0.99

00:16:46.000 Folks, are you excited?

00:16:47.000 Because we have endless money, obviously.

00:16:49.000 There's always more money.

00:16:52.000 Look, the Inflation Reduction Act is also the most significant investment ever in climate change.

00:17:00.000 Ever.

00:17:04.000 Lower utility bill.

00:17:06.000 Creating American jobs.

00:17:08.000 Leading the world to a clean energy future.

00:17:09.000 I've visited the devastating aftermath of record floods, droughts, storms, and wildfires.

00:17:14.000 From Arizona to Mexico, all the way up to the Canadian border.

00:17:19.000 More timber has been burned than I've observed from helicopters than the entire state of Missouri.

00:17:26.000 And we don't have global warming?

00:17:28.000 Not a problem.

00:17:29.000 More timber has been bombed in the same city as I live in Canada.

00:17:36.000 He is an amazing, amazing person.

00:17:37.000 Amazing.

00:17:38.000 More timber has been burned that I've observed from helicopters than the entire state of Missouri?

00:17:44.000 How long was he on that helicopter for?

00:17:46.000 Also, they're saying it's not global.

00:17:48.000 Yes, I'm saying that's not global warming.

00:17:50.000 They said that's really crappy forestry policy in the state of California, particularly.

00:17:54.000 They left all of the dead brush out there to burn.

00:17:57.000 This has been a longstanding problem in the state of California.

00:18:00.000 But there you go.

00:18:01.000 Joe Biden, he's an amazing dude.

00:18:03.000 Also, we're going to be spending money on electric vehicle charging stations.

00:18:07.000 So you're saying to yourself, I can't afford gas, and this doof wants to spend money to build electric vehicle charging stations to benefit people who can afford Teslas.

00:18:17.000 Now listen, works for me, I own a Tesla.

00:18:20.000 However, I'm not looking for a subsidy from the President of the United States on this What he's really attempting to do, of course, is to pay union members, right?

00:18:26.000 All the unions.

00:18:27.000 The most corrupt bargain in American politics that nobody talks about is the fact that public sector unions, working with the federal government, are constantly getting giveaways from the taxpayer and then negotiating with the very people they help elect.

00:18:37.000 It is open corruption.

00:18:38.000 And Joe Biden is one of the most corrupt people in American politics.

00:18:41.000 So here he was last night bragging about how it is vital that we create 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations that you cannot plug your car into because if you're like most Americans, you don't have an electric car.

00:18:51.000 But we will be paying a bunch of union members who will then spend their union dues on reelecting Joe Biden.

00:18:57.000 We're going to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations installed across the country by tens of thousands of IBW workers.

00:19:07.000 We're helping families save more than $1,000 a year with tax credits to purchase electric vehicles and efficient appliances, energy efficient appliances.

00:19:18.000 So I'm just going to remind you, he says he's going to give you back $1,000 a year on your electric car.

00:19:24.000 The base price for certain models of Tesla is $94,000.

00:19:26.000 The Model S is $95,000.

00:19:26.000 $4,000. The Model S is $95,000. The Model Y, I'm looking at their website right now, is $55,000, the Model Y. So, yeah, I mean, that's great, Joe.

00:19:37.000 I'm excited.

00:19:38.000 Just very, very exciting stuff there from the president of the United States.

00:19:42.000 The Model 3 is $54,000, but you can save $1,000 because Joe Biden is going to give you a tax credit.

00:19:47.000 And all of this ties into the climate crisis.

00:19:50.000 Again, the government always needs a new crisis.

00:19:52.000 So COVID is not a crisis anymore, according to the President of the United States.

00:19:55.000 Sure, he is still using that as leverage in order to try to relieve student loan debt unconstitutionally, but it's not a crisis anymore.

00:20:01.000 We need a new crisis.

00:20:02.000 The new crisis, of course, is going to be that it's warm outside, guys, and it's going to get a little warmer over the course of the next hundred years.

00:20:08.000 So you should freak out.

00:20:09.000 Freak out, everybody.

00:20:10.000 Here is Joseph R. Biden.

00:20:14.000 Climate crisis doesn't care if you're in a red or blue state.

00:20:18.000 It's an existential threat.

00:20:21.000 We have an obligation, not to ourselves, but to our children and grandchildren to confront it.

00:20:26.000 I'm proud of how America, at last, is stepping up to the challenge.

00:20:32.000 We're still going to need oil and gas for a while.

00:20:35.000 But guess what?

00:20:35.000 No, we do.

00:20:39.000 But there's so much more to do.

00:20:43.000 We're going to need oil and gas for a little while.

00:20:47.000 This line would come back to bite him later in the speech, in one of the most hilarious and dramatic moments of the speech.

00:20:51.000 We'll get to that momentarily.

00:20:52.000 First, let's talk about something that you can do that's actually good for your family, not sitting through the State of the Union Address.

00:20:57.000 I'm glad you didn't do that last night.

00:20:59.000 I had to travel to Nashville just to do that last night. 0.95

00:21:01.000 I gotta tell you, it sucked.

00:21:02.000 But if you want to do something great for your family, you should instead go on over to Legacy Box.

00:21:07.000 If you're talking about something great you can do for your parents, something for your spouse, go out to your garage, or your parents' garage, and what you will find there are a bunch of old videotapes.

00:21:14.000 You don't have a VCR.

00:21:15.000 You'll find a bunch of old film reels.

00:21:16.000 You don't have a projector.

00:21:18.000 You don't have any of the machinery that is necessary in order to access those memories.

00:21:21.000 Do not let those memories just die.

00:21:23.000 instead preserve your family's history with Legacy Box.

00:21:25.000 Legacy Box is a simple, safe way to digitize your treasured videotapes, film reels, and photos.

00:21:29.000 Everything is done by hand right here in the United States.

00:21:35.000 I've done this a couple of times for my parents.

00:21:36.000 I've done it in my own garage, and it's amazing.

00:21:39.000 Because again, you look at these old pictures, these old film reels, and you're accessing memories that have been hidden from view for decades in some cases.

00:21:45.000 Visit Legacybox.com slash Shapiro.

00:21:52.000 Again, Legacybox.com slash Shapiro.

00:21:56.000 Okay, so...

00:21:57.000 Joe Biden gets through his climate change, big spending nonsense, and then he gets to taxes.

00:22:02.000 So how's he going to pay for all this?

00:22:03.000 The answer, of course, is that he's going to yell at the rich people again and pretend they don't pay their fair share of taxes.

00:22:09.000 Now, let me explain to you.

00:22:10.000 Rich people don't only pay their fair share of taxes.

00:22:12.000 They pay literally everyone's taxes.

00:22:15.000 57% of households in the United States pay no income tax.

00:22:18.000 That does not sound fair to me.

00:22:20.000 I have been at nearly every income bracket in American public life.

00:22:24.000 And I can tell you this, I pay way the hell more taxes now than I did 15 years ago when I was in a much lower income tax bracket.

00:22:32.000 Joe Biden proclaiming that people who are wealthy don't pay their fair share is sort of like proclaiming that the morbidly obese do not pay their fair share in terms of food.

00:22:41.000 They really, really do.

00:22:44.000 Okay, it turns out that the people who earn the most also pay the most in taxes, and they pay a disproportionate share in taxes.

00:22:49.000 The percentage of money that the most wealthy in our society own compared to the amount of taxes that they pay.

00:22:55.000 When you're talking about earned income, we're not talking about their assets that they already paid taxes on and then translate into real estate or stock or something.

00:23:01.000 Wildly disproportionate.

00:23:02.000 They pay more than they actually earn in terms of percentage taxes versus percentage of the income earned from the economy.

00:23:09.000 But he's going to keep proclaiming forever and always that the rich aren't paying their fair share because if Joe Biden never told the truth about taxes, which is to pay for all of his garbage, you, like the normal middle class person, or you, the person at the bottom end of the spectrum, you're going to have to increase your taxes.

00:23:22.000 If he ever said that, everybody would immediately dismiss him.

00:23:25.000 By the way, the only person in American public life who's actually honest enough to say this on the left is Bernie Sanders.

00:23:29.000 Bernie will be like, yeah, it's true.

00:23:30.000 We're going to have to tax you.

00:23:32.000 You'll make $30,000 a year.

00:23:33.000 We need a 60% tax rate on you.

00:23:34.000 It's the only way we can pay for all this.

00:23:36.000 At least he's honest. 0.99

00:23:37.000 Joe Biden's a liar, so here we go. 0.86

00:23:40.000 No billionaire should be paying a lower tax rate than a school teacher or firefighter. 0.98

00:23:44.000 I mean it.

00:23:46.000 Think about it.

00:23:50.000 Think about it.

00:23:51.000 No, no, no billionaire should pay a lower tax rate than a school teacher.

00:23:54.000 No billionaire is paying a lower tax rate than a school teacher or firefighter.

00:23:57.000 You're categorizing the income differently.

00:23:59.000 They're billionaires who don't actually earn an income.

00:24:01.000 They put all their money in their assets.

00:24:03.000 Those assets, things like their stock, they're not actually earning money from the stock.

00:24:08.000 The stock has not been sold, so the capital gain has not been realized.

00:24:11.000 When it is, they will pay a capital gains tax.

00:24:14.000 And he said last night, quote, I think a lot of you at home agree with me, our present tax system is simply unfair.

00:24:18.000 Well, I agree with you on that.

00:24:19.000 He says, the idea that in 2020, 55 of the biggest companies in America made $40 billion in profits and paid zero in federal income taxes, that's simply not fair.

00:24:27.000 What metrics are you using?

00:24:29.000 A increased stock price does not mean that they realized a profit.

00:24:32.000 That is not the same thing. 0.96

00:24:36.000 It's all ridiculous. 0.96

00:24:37.000 And I think the most ridiculous thing, and this is really funny, is he started ripping on Big Oil, and then he got caught in the middle of one of his lies, like literally in the middle of the speech. 0.96

00:24:46.000 And this is where the speech started to get actually mildly interesting and spicy. 0.74

00:24:49.000 And this is because members of the crowd started laughing at him.

00:24:52.000 He started to sort of play with the crowd.

00:24:54.000 So the Republicans in the audience, Kevin McCarthy had told them beforehand, shut up, like don't do this.

00:25:00.000 And many of them simply ignored him.

00:25:03.000 And the reason that many of them simply ignored him is because the Republicans have a serious collective action problem, obviously.

00:25:07.000 The incentives are misaligned.

00:25:09.000 Democrats would like for Republicans to yell during the State of the Union address, specifically so that the media can claim that Joe Biden and Democrats are being victimized by the evil, terrible, out-of-control Republicans.

00:25:17.000 This is one of their narratives.

00:25:18.000 They can't really run on their amazing records. 0.99

00:25:20.000 What they're going to run on is Republicans are out of control and crazy.

00:25:22.000 So Democrats would like for Republicans to yell at them.

00:25:25.000 Republicans, like Ken McCarthy would like for Republicans not to yell at Joe Biden because they figure, okay, it's just a speech.

00:25:31.000 It'll be over in an hour and then everyone will forget about it.

00:25:34.000 But Joe Biden will be able to cut commercials off of yelling Republicans for a while.

00:25:37.000 But if you are a Republican congressperson, the way that you get more famous and the way that you raise more money is by being the person who yells at Joe Biden during a speech.

00:25:45.000 So you have a serious collective action problem inside the Republican Party, where you have certain people for whom it is in their interest to yell at Joe Biden, and then the general party not super interested in yelling at Joe Biden.

00:25:56.000 There was some of that last night.

00:25:57.000 For my part, I don't care if anybody yells at Joe Biden.

00:25:59.000 I really don't.

00:25:59.000 I think our whole State of the Union malarkey, as Joe Biden might put it, our whole sort of pomp and circumstance, you can never say a word as the president spews lies over and over and over.

00:26:10.000 I think it's stupid. 0.98

00:26:11.000 I'd rather have this be like parliamentary question time in the UK where everybody just yells at the Prime Minister. 0.99

00:26:15.000 It would be much more interesting and satisfying, frankly.

00:26:18.000 But we did get a little bit of that last night.

00:26:20.000 So here was Joe Biden going after big oil and then tacitly admitting the reason why the oil companies are not building new refineries is because of him.

00:26:29.000 Have you noticed big oil just reported its profits, record profits?

00:26:34.000 Last year they made $200 billion in the midst of a global energy crisis.

00:26:43.000 I think it's outrageous.

00:26:45.000 They invested too little of that profit to increase domestic production.

00:26:45.000 Why?

00:26:50.000 And when I talked to a couple of them, they said, we're afraid you're going to shut down all the oil refineries anyway, so why should we invest in them?

00:26:58.000 I said, we're going to need oil for at least another decade.

00:27:01.000 And that's going to exceed and beyond that.

00:27:06.000 We're going to need it.

00:27:08.000 And everybody laughs at him.

00:27:10.000 All the Republicans laugh at him.

00:27:11.000 Like, open laughter.

00:27:12.000 Because, you know how long it takes to build an oil refinery?

00:27:15.000 And license an oil refinery?

00:27:17.000 You're supposed to sink hundreds of millions of dollars into building oil refineries that'll take seven years to build, and then, three years later, your friends are gonna shut it down?

00:27:17.000 So what?

00:27:24.000 First of all, we're gonna need oil a lot longer than that. 1.00

00:27:26.000 This is just stupid. 0.99

00:27:27.000 But, when Joe Biden says things like this, he's admitting the reason that they're not doing the thing is because of him. 1.00

00:27:34.000 But he's a doddering fool, so of course he's admitting that. 0.99

00:27:36.000 Okay, then the lies just continue to pace. 1.00

00:27:38.000 His fiscal lies.

00:27:39.000 He suggested that his administration has cut the deficit.

00:27:41.000 It is not true by any stretch of the imagination.

00:27:41.000 This is not true.

00:27:43.000 In the last two years, my administration has cut the deficit by more than 1.7 trillion dollars.

00:27:54.000 No, it has not.

00:27:55.000 The largest deficit reduction in American history.

00:27:57.000 No.

00:27:58.000 Under the previous administration, The American deficit went up four years in a row.

00:28:03.000 OK, the deficit went up in absolute terms, meaning that the debt went up.

00:28:09.000 OK, here's if you look at a chart of the American deficit, here's what it looks like year on year.

00:28:13.000 So you go from like 2016 to that 2012.

00:28:14.000 It goes like this.

00:28:17.000 Right, steps up, up, up, up, up.

00:28:18.000 Then in 2020, because of COVID, it jumps really, really high because everybody just blew out the spending.

00:28:24.000 And in 2021, when this duke took office, it went down a little bit from 2020, but it was still record highs in terms of the amount of debt that we were racking up.

00:28:32.000 And then in 2022, it went down from 2021, but it was still way higher than the deficit was in, say, 2019.

00:28:38.000 Right, if you actually just remove 2020 and 2021, the COVID years, it is the highest deficit we have ever run.

00:28:45.000 But he's saying it's a reduction because we didn't spend as much as we did in 2020-2021, when COVID was a thing.

00:28:52.000 So it's just, it's lying with statistics. 0.81

00:28:55.000 And as a famous person once said, there are lies, there are damn lies in their statistics, and Joe Biden is fluent in all three of those things.

00:29:03.000 And this all led the way for he wants to spend as much money as you can possibly spend without any fight on the deficit ceiling. 0.87

00:29:10.000 This is what he wants.

00:29:11.000 And this led him to lie about things.

00:29:12.000 I mean, open lies.

00:29:13.000 And again, this is where it started to get kind of spicy in the room.

00:29:16.000 Republicans were yelling at him because he was accusing them of a thing they are not going to do.

00:29:20.000 Namely, negotiate over Social Security and Medicare over the debt ceiling.

00:29:22.000 They're not doing this.

00:29:23.000 Kevin McCarthy has already said they're not doing this.

00:29:25.000 But Joe Biden lied about it in the room.

00:29:27.000 Then he had to walk back his lies in real time because he was lying in the room.

00:29:32.000 Some of my Republican friends want to take the economy hostage.

00:29:36.000 I get it.

00:29:37.000 Unless I agree to their economic plans.

00:29:41.000 All of you at home should know what those plans are.

00:29:44.000 Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset.

00:29:52.000 I'm not saying it's the majority.

00:29:57.000 Let me give you, anybody who doubts it, contact my office.

00:30:02.000 I'll give you a copy.

00:30:04.000 I'll give you a copy of the proposal.

00:30:06.000 That means Congress doesn't vote.

00:30:09.000 Well, I'm glad to see you.

00:30:13.000 I tell you, I enjoy conversion.

00:30:16.000 You know, it means if Congress doesn't keep the programs the way they are, they'd go away.

00:30:21.000 Other Republicans say, I'm not saying it's the majority of you.

00:30:23.000 I don't even think it's even a significant...

00:30:27.000 But it's being proposed by individuals.

00:30:30.000 I'm not politely not naming them, but it's being proposed by some of you.

00:30:34.000 Look, folks, the idea is that we're not going to be moved into being threatened to default on the debt if we don't respond.

00:30:49.000 So, folks, as we all apparently agree, Social Security and Medicare is off the books now.

00:30:58.000 Everybody said that Social Security and Medicare was not going to be part of the debt ceiling negotiation.

00:31:02.000 Now, I will point out here that we are cruising for a bruising on Social Security and Medicare.

00:31:07.000 And this is the highest form of demagoguery.

00:31:09.000 The easiest thing in American public life, seriously, for a politician is to say I'm not going to touch this massive entitlement program that will bankrupt the country.

00:31:15.000 And if you do touch it, then you should be politically electrocuted.

00:31:18.000 There's a reason why entitlement programs have long been considered the third rail of American politics.

00:31:22.000 But let me just remind you that if Social Security and Medicare are not reformed, Brian Reidel from the Manhattan Institute points this out.

00:31:28.000 There will be a 15.3% payroll tax rising to 25% plus a value-added tax rising to 20% over the next few decades.

00:31:37.000 That's what it would take to pay for the Congressional Budget Office's rosiest scenario.

00:31:42.000 So a vast tax increase.

00:31:43.000 There will be cuts in benefits.

00:31:44.000 There will be changes in the retirement age.

00:31:46.000 All those things are going to happen simply because circumstance will dictate that those things happen.

00:31:52.000 But everybody in the room is going to cheer for themselves right now because nobody actually has the stones to do the hard thing.

00:31:56.000 Now, should Republicans negotiate with Joe Biden over this?

00:31:58.000 Of course they should not because it's not going to happen. 0.99

00:32:00.000 It would be stupid politics to do that. 0.99

00:32:01.000 But Joe Biden is lying. 0.99

00:32:02.000 I mean, when he says that there's a widespread Republican sentiment that they're going to sunset Medicare or Social Security for the debt ceiling negotiations, he is just lying to you.

00:32:11.000 It is not true.

00:32:12.000 And so when everybody yells at him, Republicans are getting a lot of flack for this.

00:32:15.000 But Joe Biden had to walk it back in real time.

00:32:17.000 So at least credit to those Republicans for doing that much.

00:32:20.000 As we'll see, it got a little bit worse later.

00:32:22.000 They were yelling at him about fentanyl and blaming him for deaths on fentanyl.

00:32:24.000 I don't think that's smart politics.

00:32:26.000 Again, I don't care if people yell at Joe Biden during a speech.

00:32:28.000 I'm fine with politicians taking it right on the chin from each other.

00:32:31.000 In fact, more.

00:32:32.000 I like more of that.

00:32:33.000 But in terms of sort of the smart politics of it, not super smart.

00:32:36.000 We'll get to that in a moment.

00:32:37.000 Plus, we'll get to Joe Biden, who apparently cares a lot about baggage fees, but not so much about the rising threat of China.

00:32:45.000 First, simple fact of the matter is that we hired the wrong guy for the job.

00:32:48.000 When it came to the President of the United States, you would not like to hire the wrong person for your job.

00:32:53.000 Or, how would you like your HR department to have to deal with Joe Biden?

00:32:56.000 If you were the HR department at the White House and this dude is just walking around sniffing hair, would that make you a happy camper?

00:33:01.000 Well, if you don't have HR at your company, you are making a large-scale mistake.

00:33:04.000 This is why you need Bambi.

00:34:42.000 Okay, so once Joe Biden got past the debt ceiling stuff, we got sort of a grab bag of policies.

00:34:46.000 And this is what most State of the Union addresses turn into, to be fair to our no-longer-with-it presidents of the United States.

00:34:52.000 It just turned into him picking random apples off the policy tree.

00:34:56.000 So he spent a bizarre amount of time on junk fees.

00:35:00.000 He spent more time on junk fees, like baggage fees from your airline.

00:35:04.000 He spent more time on that than he did on China, which seems like a misprioritization.

00:35:08.000 I mean, I've noticed that he's spending an enormous amount of time on very small things and avoiding a lot of the big elephants in the room.

00:35:15.000 So here he was yesterday going on and on about junk fees, which is a weird speech.

00:35:21.000 You got an old dementia ridden human being yelling at you about junk fees and baggage fees. 1.00

00:35:28.000 If I wanted to listen to my grandfather shout about baggage fees, I could just go over to the local old age home. 0.99

00:35:33.000 I mean, what in the world?

00:35:35.000 I know how unfair it feels when a company overcharges you and gets away with it.

00:35:40.000 Not anymore.

00:35:42.000 We've written a bill to stop it all.

00:35:43.000 It's called the Junk Fee Prevention Act.

00:35:46.000 We're gonna ban surprise resort fees that hotels charge on your bill.

00:35:51.000 Baggage fees are bad enough.

00:35:54.000 Airlines can't treat your child like a piece of baggage. 0.99

00:35:58.000 Americans are tired of being, we're tired of being played for suckers. 0.99

00:36:02.000 We're tired of being blamed for suckers. 0.99

00:36:04.000 They can't treat your child like a piece of baggage. 1.00

00:36:05.000 You should kill your child in the womb. 1.00

00:36:07.000 That's not bad. 1.00

00:36:08.000 There's airlines, and they take your kids, and they put them in a suitcase.

00:36:11.000 They throw them in the bottom of the airliners, bouncing around in there, and it's bad.

00:36:16.000 They come out the other end, and baggage handler is sniffing your panties and sniffing your child, which is in your baggage.

00:36:21.000 We don't get a lot of that anymore.

00:36:22.000 Junk-free prevention moogle.

00:36:25.000 Yeah!

00:36:26.000 And Kamala Harris is like, yes, Mr. President.

00:36:28.000 Yes, it's yes.

00:36:33.000 And then he paid homage to the greatest doctor of all and the true president of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden.

00:36:38.000 How dare you suggest she's not a real doctor?

00:36:40.000 She's the most doctor-y doctor who ever doctored.

00:36:42.000 I mean, sure, she can't actually do anything if you're sick, but here we go.

00:36:46.000 Jill, my wife, who teaches full-time.

00:36:48.000 No, she doesn't.

00:36:48.000 Has an expression.

00:36:50.000 Hope I get it right, kid.

00:36:52.000 Any nation that out-educates us is going to out-compete us.

00:36:56.000 Any nation that out-educates is going to out-compete us.

00:36:59.000 Folks, we all know 12 years of education is not enough to win the economic competition of the 21st century.

00:37:08.000 We want to have the best educated workforce.

00:37:10.000 Let's finish the job by providing access to preschool for 3 and 4 years old.

00:37:18.000 Yes, amazing idea. 0.62

00:37:19.000 Our education system is garbage from K through 12. 0.99

00:37:21.000 Let's add two more years of garbage education. 1.00

00:37:24.000 And let's mess up all of our higher education as well by forcing equity on them. 0.98

00:37:29.000 Great idea, Joe.

00:37:31.000 Genius stuff.

00:37:31.000 And of course, we have money for this.

00:37:32.000 There's always money for this.

00:37:34.000 He got to COVID as well.

00:37:36.000 And again, it is amazing to me how he treats COVID as a magical thing that just sort of happened to his administration, as opposed to him botching nearly every area of COVID policy.

00:37:43.000 It is policy to botch.

00:37:44.000 Here we go with him ignoring the fact that he is not responsible for any of the things he is about to say that are good.

00:37:49.000 And he is responsible for most of the things he's about to say that are bad.

00:37:53.000 In the midst of the COVID crisis, when schools were closed.

00:37:57.000 Why were they closed?

00:38:00.000 And we were shutting down everything.

00:38:03.000 Let's recognize how far we came in the fight against the pandemic itself.

00:38:08.000 While the virus is not gone, thanks to the resilience of the American people and the ingenuity of medicine, we've broken the COVID grip on us.

00:38:17.000 COVID deaths are down by 90%.

00:38:20.000 We've saved millions of lives and opened up We opened our country back up, and soon we'll end the public health emergency.

00:38:28.000 You didn't open the country back up.

00:38:29.000 It took you until, like, May of this year to declare the public health emergency over.

00:38:33.000 If it had been up to them, they would have kept the country shut down pretty much forever.

00:38:38.000 It was only when the eventuality of Americans being sick of staying in their homes began to rear its ugly head that Joe Biden and the rest of the Democrats had to actually toe the line.

00:38:47.000 He also blamed, by the way, COVID for the spike in violent crime.

00:38:49.000 It had nothing to do with his entire party embracing the idea that the police are evil.

00:38:52.000 And as we'll get to in just a moment, he actually once again embraced the idea that police are evil.

00:38:56.000 Apparently it was just COVID.

00:38:57.000 When a virus hits, people just go and murder people.

00:38:59.000 Did you know that?

00:39:00.000 It has nothing to do with bad government policy.

00:39:01.000 It has nothing to do with allowing rioters to run amok in the streets in the name of quote-unquote racial justice.

00:39:07.000 It has to do with people getting sick and dying of COVID when they're 80 years old.

00:39:11.000 Now, I know that you might be missing the correlation here, like any rational human being.

00:39:14.000 Joe Biden isn't missing the correlation.

00:39:15.000 According to him, crime spiked in 2020 because of COVID.

00:39:18.000 It had nothing to do with giant protests that enervated police departments around the country and led to a massive spike in murder rates that continued into 2021 and 2022 under his presidency.

00:39:28.000 COVID left its scars, like the spike in violent crime in 2020, the first year of the pandemic.

00:39:36.000 We have an obligation to make sure all people are safe.

00:39:40.000 Public safety depends on public trust, as all of us know.

00:39:44.000 But too often, that trust is violated.

00:39:47.000 Okay, so according to Joe Biden, it was all COVID policy that led to the spike in crime.

00:39:51.000 Had nothing to do with the anti-police stuff that he's been pushing.

00:39:54.000 By the way, he did push a bunch of anti-police stuff last night.

00:39:56.000 He had the Tyree Nichols family join him at the State of the Union.

00:39:58.000 Again, one of the things I hate most about the State of the Union is it was started by Ronald Reagan.

00:40:02.000 At the time, it was supposed to be sort of a fresh thing to spice up the State of the Union address, which is he would call up to the balcony and be like, Give a hand to Bob.

00:40:09.000 Bob's great.

00:40:10.000 I mean, Bob started his own small business and he's doing an amazing job.

00:40:13.000 Hand for Bob!

00:40:14.000 Everyone would cheer.

00:40:15.000 It was great.

00:40:15.000 And now, it's let me bring my litany of victims who I can use as props for my political point of view.

00:40:21.000 So you brought the family of Tyree Nichols, a black man killed in a confrontation.

00:40:26.000 And when I say confrontation, I mean they were literally holding his hands behind his back and punching him by five black police officers.

00:40:31.000 But according to Joe Biden, that's about race.

00:40:32.000 Of course, of course.

00:40:33.000 Because it is always about race.

00:40:35.000 It does not matter that this story is not a racial story.

00:40:37.000 It is a race story, according to Joe Biden.

00:40:39.000 And it's also a racial police story, according to Joe Biden.

00:40:41.000 The police are bad.

00:40:43.000 The police are a problem.

00:40:44.000 The police need to be blamed, broad writ, for bad actions by certain people in certain cities.

00:40:49.000 That's what needs to happen.

00:40:51.000 Also, it's COVID's fault that the crime rate is going up.

00:40:53.000 Here was Joe Biden, who was taking advantage of the truly tragic death of a person, Beat to death, it seems, by the cops, to pretend that it's all about racism.

00:41:03.000 And then give us the talk.

00:41:06.000 Join us tonight are the parents of Tyree Nichols.

00:41:11.000 Welcome.

00:41:12.000 We had to bury Tyree last week.

00:41:18.000 As many of you personally know, there's no word to describe the heartache or grief of losing a child.

00:41:24.000 But imagine, imagine if you lost that child at the hands of the law.

00:41:30.000 Imagine having to worry whether your son or daughter came home from walking down the street, playing in the park, or just driving a car.

00:41:39.000 That's what happens when cops shoot people randomly.

00:41:42.000 I've never had to have the talk. 0.90

00:41:45.000 The talk that brown and black parents have had to have with their children.

00:41:49.000 Beau, Hunter, Ashton, my children.

00:41:52.000 I never had to have the talk with them.

00:41:54.000 I never had to tell them if a police officer pulls you over, turn your interior lights on right away.

00:42:02.000 Don't reach for your license.

00:42:04.000 Keep your hands on the steering wheel. 0.70

00:42:06.000 The police are all racist, guys.

00:42:08.000 Imagine having to worry like that every single time your kid got in a car. 0.98

00:42:13.000 Okay, there are 40 million black Americans in this country.

00:42:17.000 And the number of black Americans who are shot while unarmed in the United States every year is maybe two dozen on the high end.

00:42:24.000 If you are deeply worried every time you get in a car that you're going to get shot by a cop, you are misprioritizing your worries.

00:42:30.000 You are statistically inaccurate in your worries.

00:42:31.000 By the way, I was under the impression that pretty much everybody like in driver's ed is told how to handle it when a cop pulls you over.

00:42:37.000 You keep your hands on the steering wheel.

00:42:38.000 You don't reach for the glove compartment because there might be a gun in there and cops have to be on their guard, for example.

00:42:44.000 I was given that talk by my parents and I was like a middle to upper middle class Jewish kid.

00:42:51.000 In any case, the notion that this has no impact on crime rates, when you just rip the cops, broadly speaking, and you keep suggesting that the mistrust between populations and the cops is justified, is of course wrong and bad, but Joe Biden did that last night.

00:43:03.000 He did tend to backload in this speech, I will say, the more controversial portions of the speech.

00:43:07.000 He filled up the middle of the speech with all this garbage about junk fees and resort fees, because I know that's top of mind for you, is that resort fee that you were charged on the vacation you couldn't go to this year because of his inflation.

00:43:18.000 But he backloaded a bunch of the more controversial stuff he called for gun control.

00:43:21.000 When he got to the border, then we got another one of these confrontations between Joe Biden and the rest of Congress.

00:43:27.000 So here he was complaining about border policy and suggesting the only way to solve the border policy is for mass legalization of illegal immigrants to take place, which of course is not really the problem.

00:43:38.000 The big problem is that you left the border wide open, you doof.

00:43:42.000 But American border problems won't be fixed until Congress acts.

00:43:46.000 If we don't pass my comprehensive immigration reform, we at least pass my plan to provide the equipment and officers to secure the border.

00:43:53.000 And a pathway to citizenship for dreamers, those on temporary status, farm workers, essential workers.

00:44:07.000 By the way, if Joe Biden put up a bill tomorrow to fund the Border Patrol, that would pass unanimously if Democrats could get off their hands.

00:44:14.000 But of course, that's not what he's proposing at all.

00:44:17.000 During this portion of the speech, by the way, Joe Biden also started talking about, you know, deaths from fentanyl.

00:44:23.000 And he was yelled at for that.

00:44:25.000 He was yelled at because Republicans are like, dude, when you're talking about deaths from fentanyl, that's because of your border policy.

00:44:31.000 Deaths from fentanyl have spiked because you left a wide open border and you have drug mules who are packing that stuff across the border.

00:44:38.000 So this was a moment where a couple Republicans yelled at him, suggesting that a specific fentanyl death, Joe Biden is to blame for that.

00:44:46.000 I'm not a huge fan of that kind of politics because I don't think that you can link any single death to the policies of the President of the United States.

00:44:53.000 However, if you're saying that the increase in fentanyl overdoses in the United States is due in large part to his border policies, that part's true.

00:45:00.000 Here is Joe Biden on fentanyl and Republicans yelling at him.

00:45:03.000 Fentanyl is killing more than 70,000 Americans a year.

00:45:07.000 They're shouting border.

00:45:12.000 You got it.

00:45:13.000 It's your fault.

00:45:19.000 Somebody shouted, it's your fault.

00:45:20.000 Well, I mean, that part is true. 0.86

00:45:21.000 I mean, if you leave the border wide open and then fentanyl is pouring across it, it is kind of your fault.

00:45:26.000 I've noticed that this border crisis has not existed under any other president to this magnitude.

00:45:32.000 The media, as we'll see, were very exercised about this part, where Republicans got mad and yelled it at Joe Biden. 0.97

00:45:36.000 Okay, but the biggest applause line of the night, if you were a Democrat, came when he said he wants to kill more babies. 0.99

00:45:41.000 There's so much grandstanding in these State of the Union addresses, it really is pathetic. 0.98

00:45:45.000 Part of that grandstanding involves claiming that Republicans are going to pass a bill to ban all abortions in the United States in a Congress where they do not control the Senate. 0.61

00:45:54.000 And then they're going to send it to a Democratic president.

00:45:56.000 It ain't gonna happen.

00:45:57.000 Joe Biden grandstanded on it, of course.

00:46:00.000 Congress must restore the right that was taken away in Roe v. Wade and protect Roe v. Wade.

00:46:07.000 Give every woman a constant right.

00:46:16.000 The Vice President and I are doing everything to protect access to reproductive health care and safeguard patient safety.

00:46:26.000 Yeah, that's wonderful.

00:46:29.000 The biggest cheers of the night for more dead babies.

00:46:31.000 Really solid stuff.

00:46:32.000 Joe Biden also, again, he backloaded a lot of the controversial stuff, figuring people would tune out.

00:46:37.000 But he also talked about the trans kids, right?

00:46:39.000 Trans kids, they're everywhere.

00:46:40.000 And it's all biological.

00:46:42.000 It is not a social contagion in any way, shape, or form, despite the fact that pretty much all the trans kids are popping up in very blue enclaves, in very blue areas. 0.65

00:46:50.000 Apparently, it's a problem affecting all of us.

00:46:52.000 And if we can't trans the kids, man, what is America even for, says Joe Biden.

00:46:56.000 Let's also pass the Bipartisan Equality Act to ensure LGBTQ Americans, especially transgender young people, can live with safety and dignity.

00:47:07.000 What is a transgender young person?

00:47:09.000 Again, I want him to explain how a five-year-old is transgender.

00:47:11.000 Please explain to me how a five-year-old boy is actually a girl.

00:47:14.000 Explain the biology, Joe.

00:47:15.000 Explain how it works.

00:47:16.000 He can't, of course. 0.63

00:47:16.000 It's all propagandistic nonsense. 0.63

00:47:18.000 Okay, then he came to foreign policy.

00:47:20.000 Don't worry, guys, we're getting close to the end, kind of.

00:47:22.000 Kind of.

00:47:23.000 He got to foreign policy.

00:47:24.000 And this part was pretty galling, considering the fact that we spent the last week watching a giant Chinese spy balloon flow directly across the continental United States, like all the way from Montana, over the entire continental United States, across South Carolina, and then it gets shot down over the ocean.

00:47:40.000 Joe Biden tried to play that as though he is doing an amazing job confronting China.

00:47:43.000 Which would come as a shock to pretty much everyone who watched a giant Chinese spy balloon fly across the entirety of the continental United States while we did nothing about it.

00:47:51.000 So here is Joe Biden, clip 28, talking about how the People's Republic of China is really on the run, which again, no, they are not.

00:48:02.000 Before I came to office, the story was about how the People's Republic of China was increasing its power and America was failing in the world.

00:48:11.000 Not anymore.

00:48:13.000 We made clear, and I made clear in my personal conversations, which have been many, with President Xi, that we seek competition, not conflict.

00:48:22.000 But make no mistake about it.

00:48:24.000 As we made clear last week, if China threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country, and we did.

00:48:31.000 We were so strong, we shot down a balloon.

00:48:34.000 A big ol' balloon.

00:48:37.000 And then he started really shouting.

00:48:39.000 Now, I don't know if the drugs finally kicked in and he took them too close to time and finally, like, or he got overstimulated by all the shiny lights that were in the room, or what exactly happened here.

00:48:50.000 But he just started randomly yelling.

00:48:52.000 It was super weird.

00:48:53.000 Here was an old man yelling at clouds for you.

00:48:57.000 Autocracy's grown weaker, not stronger.

00:48:59.000 Name me a world leader who changed places with Xi Jinping.

00:49:03.000 Name me one!

00:49:05.000 Name me one!

00:49:09.000 What?

00:49:10.000 What?

00:49:10.000 The actual F?

00:49:12.000 Name?

00:49:13.000 Name me one!

00:49:14.000 Name me one!

00:49:15.000 Do it!

00:49:16.000 Wrong. 1.00

00:49:16.000 Punch it in the mouth! 1.00

00:49:18.000 Dog face punch! 1.00

00:49:19.000 Name me one!

00:49:21.000 Okay, so I could name you probably a hundred world leaders who would change places with Xi Jinping.

00:49:26.000 He is, in fact, the dictatorial, authoritarian leader of a country with extraordinary world power, a huge economy, and a billion people over whom he presides.

00:49:35.000 I could name you many world leaders who would change places with Xi Jinping. 0.58

00:49:39.000 But Joe Biden is a weird old man.

00:49:40.000 I mean, he's a really weird old guy. 0.86

00:49:43.000 So, all right.

00:49:44.000 Finally, we get to the conclusion of his speech.

00:49:46.000 And the conclusion of his speech, this great unifying precedent, so unifying, so bipartisan, is you hit Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer, didn't you?

00:49:53.000 It was you. 0.87

00:49:54.000 Now, you may have thought that it was some weird homeless drunk guy who was a career nudist, high on drugs.

00:50:00.000 And you may have thought, well, isn't the problem there that there's a huge crime and drug problem in Nancy Pelosi's city?

00:50:06.000 Wrong you are.

00:50:07.000 It was you.

00:50:08.000 I don't know if you have an alibi for that night.

00:50:10.000 I don't know what you thought you were having Dinner with your kids, putting them to bed, maybe doing a little bit of work, sitting on the TV watching some TV with the wife, sitting on the couch watching some TV with the wife.

00:50:20.000 Yeah, that's what you thought you were doing that night.

00:50:21.000 In actuality, you were breaking into Nancy Pelosi's home and hitting Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer. 0.94

00:50:27.000 You. 0.89

00:50:27.000 Yes, you. 0.89

00:50:28.000 And the reason you were doing it is because you voted for Trump, didn't you? 0.51

00:50:31.000 You, you Trump voters, you MAGA MAGGOT MAGA MOOGA MAGA SUPER ULTRA MAGA DOOPER SUPER POOPER SCOOPER MAGA.

00:50:37.000 It was you! 0.97

00:50:38.000 You took a ball-peen hammer and you smashed old Paul directly in the grave.

00:50:41.000 Like, what is this?

00:50:42.000 What is this?

00:50:43.000 So he gets to the end of the speech, and after being like, I'm bipartisan, we all work together to spend more money than God has ever created, because that's the United States and the soul of America!

00:50:51.000 And no!

00:50:53.000 And he finishes up by explaining that you, yes, you, Bill, I'm talking to you right now, it was thee who smashed Paul Pelosi in the head.

00:51:06.000 Oh, God, here we go.

00:51:08.000 The last few years, our democracy has been threatened and attacked, put at risk, put to the test in this very room on January the 6th.

00:51:17.000 And then, just a few months ago, an unhinged, big lie assailed and unleashed a political violence at the home of the then Speaker of the House of Representatives, using the very same language the insurrectionists used as they stalked these halls and chanted on January 6th.

00:51:36.000 Here tonight in this chamber is a man who bears the scars of that brutal attack, but is as tough and as strong and as resilient as they get.

00:51:44.000 My friend, Paul Pelosi.

00:51:45.000 Paul, stand up. 0.97

00:51:47.000 So you thought you had nothing to do with that, and then it was a crazy guy, high on drugs, who hit Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer. 0.98

00:51:52.000 It turns out it was you. 0.90

00:51:53.000 And also it was Donald Trump.

00:51:55.000 Does Donald Trump actually have an alibi for that night?

00:51:58.000 Or is a giant orange man smashing Paul Pelosi in the head with a ballpoint hammer?

00:52:02.000 Is that what he's got?

00:52:05.000 This is just shades of his Philadelphia speech, where democracy is a threat, which is why you have to leave the old man in charge, spend all the money, and take more authoritarian control over your daily life.

00:52:13.000 That is the important thing.

00:52:14.000 He concluded with a call for an end to political violence in the nation.

00:52:18.000 No mention, by the way, of all the attacks on pro-life facilities all over the United States.

00:52:23.000 No mention of the threats to the members of the Supreme Court, which were essentially greenlit by his own White House press secretary, who's like, oh, well, if people just protest outside the houses of Supreme Court justice, what could be the problem?

00:52:34.000 No mention of any of that.

00:52:36.000 He stands for peace and justice, does the President of the United States.

00:52:41.000 We must all speak out.

00:52:43.000 There's no place for political violence in America.

00:52:45.000 We have to protect the right to vote, not suppress the fundamental right.

00:52:49.000 Honor the results of our elections, not subvert the will of the people.

00:52:52.000 We have to uphold the rule of law and restore trust in our institutions of democracy.

00:52:57.000 We must give hate and extremism, in any form, no safe harbor.

00:53:03.000 And Ilhan Omar is sitting there clapping. 0.81

00:53:07.000 The hypocrisy, the gaslighting in these speeches is beyond compare. 0.94

00:53:09.000 Okay.

00:53:10.000 All of this brings us to our treasured media.

00:53:14.000 So, you knew it was coming.

00:53:16.000 The media declared this.

00:53:17.000 You've heard a lot of the speech at this point, right? 0.97

00:53:19.000 I've played you many minutes of this geriatric fool yelling at the clouds and at you and talking about junk fees and baggage fees and shooting down Chinese balloons and Paul Pelosi's head and all the rest of this. 0.93

00:53:32.000 And did you find it inspiring? 0.98

00:53:34.000 I mean, just straight up, Republican, Democrat, Independent.

00:53:36.000 Did you listen to that?

00:53:37.000 And you're like, my God, that man is a sterling orator.

00:53:40.000 He's the modern day Demosthenes.

00:53:43.000 He has all of the qualities of Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan.

00:53:47.000 And Winston Churchill rolled into one in terms of his verbal approach.

00:53:50.000 The dexterity, the fluency, just astonishing.

00:53:53.000 Is that what you were thinking when you listened to this man slur one long word?

00:53:58.000 Speak an entire speech as though he had potatoes that had been mashed in his mouth?

00:54:03.000 As he babbled nonsensically and then had to back off his point in the middle of the speech?

00:54:07.000 Is that what you got?

00:54:08.000 Well, that's what our media got from him.

00:54:11.000 Our media, who are high on their own farts, they locked themselves in the car and they farted their way through this entire speech.

00:54:17.000 And then really enjoyed the smell.

00:54:20.000 They were just gushing, just gushing.

00:54:22.000 So over on CNN, Chris Wallace and Jake Tapper, they were like, this was an amazing speech.

00:54:25.000 It was just, I mean, have you ever seen a speech like that?

00:54:27.000 It was, it was incredible.

00:54:30.000 It was inspiring.

00:54:31.000 It was, it was just, it reminded you of the best of America.

00:54:36.000 Saying the state of our union is strong, he was feisty, he was combative, at times even responsive to the crowd, his second State of the Union Address.

00:54:44.000 The President was heckled quite often and quite rudely by many of the same House Republicans who made the Speaker's life so difficult a month ago when we were sitting here.

00:54:54.000 And what everybody's going to remember, what all the clips are going to be tomorrow morning on the news, are of that moment when the president, I don't know that you could say he baited or provoked them, but he certainly was very happy when he got the response he got from Republicans.

00:55:07.000 Oh, it was amazing.

00:55:08.000 I mean, they were so rude.

00:55:09.000 They were so terrible. 0.55

00:55:10.000 So rude, so terrible.

00:55:16.000 This man gave a speech in front of a blood-red Independence Hall declaring half the American population extremist enemies of the Republic.

00:55:23.000 So forgive me if people saying that he was lying when he was lying does not get me exorcised.

00:55:29.000 Meanwhile, Wolf Blitzer said, it was the best speech I ever saw Joe Biden give.

00:55:31.000 Now granted, that is a very low bar, but here is Wolf Blitzer.

00:55:35.000 And we're up here on Capitol Hill right now.

00:55:37.000 Casey Hunt and Caitlin Collins are with me.

00:55:40.000 You know, Caitlin, I've heard President Biden, going back to his 36 years in the U.S.

00:55:44.000 Senate, deliver a lot of speeches over the years.

00:55:47.000 I've covered him for many, many years.

00:55:49.000 I've gotten to know him a bit.

00:55:51.000 I think this was the best speech I have ever heard him deliver.

00:55:55.000 He was passionate.

00:55:56.000 It was extremely well-written.

00:55:58.000 He clearly had practiced it.

00:56:00.000 And he delivered a powerful message to the American people.

00:56:04.000 As Wolf Blitzer.

00:56:05.000 So, you know, last night on our Backstage Live, we had a little hand puppet made from a paper bag of Joe Biden's face that we did some jokes with and I manipulated.

00:56:12.000 And, you know, I had my hand in the paper bag. 0.99

00:56:15.000 Well, I mean, that was unusual because normally it's the legacy media that has its head up Joe Biden's ass. 0.98

00:56:20.000 And Wolf Blitzer really brought that energy. 0.99

00:56:23.000 So did Joy Reid last night.

00:56:24.000 Joy Reid was just gushing.

00:56:25.000 She was like, oh, so inspiring.

00:56:27.000 I have to say, these people are good actors.

00:56:29.000 They're good at pretending.

00:56:30.000 I could not pretend this way.

00:56:32.000 I could certainly not pretend.

00:56:33.000 If a Republican spoke this poorly, I could not pretend they did an amazing job.

00:56:37.000 Here is Joe Biden's apparently greatest cheerleader, Joy Reid.

00:56:42.000 It's literally brilliant speechcraft, honestly.

00:56:46.000 Brilliant speechcraft.

00:56:46.000 Brilliant.

00:56:47.000 He uses Joe Biden's sort of natural pugnacious, sort of light-hearted pugnaciousness to his advantage and to their extreme disadvantage.

00:56:54.000 The things they're howling at are not arguable.

00:56:57.000 Rick Scott not only proposed sunsetting Social Security, he wrote it down and put it forward.

00:57:02.000 Guys, he's the president.

00:57:03.000 What did you think he was going to do?

00:57:05.000 Start crying?

00:57:06.000 He was like, don't write that down and publish it.

00:57:08.000 But he was like, no, I'm going to go on Fox News and defend it.

00:57:10.000 So he's right on the fact.

00:57:11.000 He literally said, OK, fine, offer your plan.

00:57:14.000 He starts riffing with them.

00:57:15.000 And as you said, Chris, they're literally arguing with the only guy with a microphone.

00:57:19.000 And he held that stage.

00:57:21.000 This was Biden, I think, at his best.

00:57:24.000 He was so good.

00:57:25.000 I mean, he helped guys.

00:57:26.000 He's the president.

00:57:26.000 What did you think he was going to start crying, like run away?

00:57:29.000 It was it was wow.

00:57:31.000 It's a magic moment.

00:57:33.000 Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow, who is back from, I don't even know where she's been, Rachel Maddow, or was she Chris Hayes?

00:57:39.000 It's hard for me to tell.

00:57:40.000 They live one pair of glasses on the desk over at MSNBC and then the various anchors trade them.

00:57:45.000 Here is Rachel Maddow saying it was filled with pace and energy.

00:57:49.000 That man had his insure today, did he?

00:57:53.000 was long in word count, but it was delivered with a lot of energy and a lot of pace and a combativeness and sort of liveliness that I'm not sure that I've ever seen in this particular type of presidential address.

00:58:10.000 Oh wow, I'm just inspiring.

00:58:12.000 Are you inspired?

00:58:13.000 You're feeling inspired?

00:58:14.000 So the media today are going to be about how he's going to get a balance, get a big boost off of it.

00:58:17.000 No, he won't.

00:58:18.000 He won't.

00:58:19.000 People seven minutes from now are not going to remember the State of the Union address.

00:58:21.000 Now, what the media are really going to focus on are not, they're not going to focus on Biden's performance.

00:58:25.000 They're going to focus on the pugnacity of his opposition.

00:58:28.000 They're going to focus on the fact that Republicans were yelling at him.

00:58:30.000 And so Joe Scarborough led the way this morning over on MSNBC.

00:58:32.000 He was saying, Republicans are so terrible, they couldn't even stand up for how amazing Joe Biden is.

00:58:36.000 They couldn't even. 0.99

00:58:38.000 The dumbest game in the State of the Union politics is who stood up for what? 0.98

00:58:42.000 Who cares? 0.99

00:58:44.000 Cares! 1.00

00:58:45.000 It's stupid! 1.00

00:58:46.000 It's all stu- Joe Scarborough. 1.00

00:58:52.000 And Republicans can't cheer about having the supply chain start in America.

00:58:57.000 Republicans can't cheer, Gene, about bringing manufacturing jobs home.

00:59:04.000 And the one that I thought was the craziest thing in the world was when Biden just set it up, like every great politician does.

00:59:12.000 Let me tell you something.

00:59:14.000 When things go bad in America, we come out of it stronger.

00:59:18.000 And to hell with the rest of the world.

00:59:20.000 They think we're weak.

00:59:22.000 Let me tell you, American democracy is stronger and more resilient than ever.

00:59:28.000 Boom.

00:59:28.000 Everybody stands up.

00:59:29.000 No, they don't.

00:59:31.000 Republicans could not stand up for the greatness of America.

00:59:36.000 They stayed seated. 0.97

00:59:38.000 You're so boring.

00:59:39.000 Meanwhile, CNN's Caitlin Collins, she says that she confronted a GOP representative on, do you think it was okay to yell at Joe Biden?

00:59:44.000 I mean, that was, guys, we have to have civility.

00:59:46.000 Civility is the thing.

00:59:47.000 I mean, sure, he's calling you all essentially responsible for the attempted murder of the Speaker of the House's husband.

00:59:52.000 But, I mean, you guys were yelling at him.

00:59:56.000 The president was talking about fentanyl and what a problem that is in this country, which I think anyone would acknowledge.

01:00:01.000 A Republican from Tennessee, one of your colleagues, Andy Ogles, shouted at the president after he was talking about a father whose daughter had died as a result of fentanyl, shouted, it's your fault, at the president.

01:00:13.000 Say what you will about the heckling last night.

01:00:14.000 Some people thought it was lively and added to it.

01:00:16.000 But in that moment, was that appropriate?

01:00:19.000 Was that appropriate?

01:00:21.000 What I need to hear is about appropriateness from Caitlin Collins sitting next to Don Lemon, the least appropriate anchor in American public life.

01:00:28.000 So, will there be any real fallout from this?

01:00:30.000 Not really.

01:00:31.000 Actually, the person who did the best last night was Sarah Huckabee Sanders, so her Republican response last night was actually quite good.

01:00:36.000 It's very rare that you see a Republican response that's any good, and I thought that Sarah did actually a really nice job with the Republican response.

01:00:44.000 And while you reap the consequences of their failures, the Biden administration seems more interested in woke fantasies than the hard reality Americans face every day.

01:00:56.000 Most Americans simply want to live their lives in freedom and peace.

01:01:00.000 But we are under attack in a left-wing culture war we didn't start and never wanted to fight.

01:01:06.000 Every day we are told we must partake in their rituals, salute their flags, and worship their false idols.

01:01:13.000 All while big government colludes with big tech to strip away the most American thing there is.

01:01:20.000 Your freedom of speech.

01:01:22.000 That's not normal.

01:01:23.000 It's crazy.

01:01:25.000 And it's wrong.

01:01:27.000 Make no mistake.

01:01:29.000 Republicans will not surrender this fight.

01:01:32.000 We will lead with courage and do what's right, not what's politically correct or convenient.

01:01:38.000 By the way, there is a new generation of Republican leaders who are rising, and they are going to be a real threat to Joe Biden and his Democratic dominance right now.

01:01:45.000 It's going to be people like Sarah Sanders.

01:01:47.000 It's going to be people like Ron DeSantis.

01:01:49.000 It's going to be people like Tim Scott.

01:01:50.000 There's a whole generation of new Republican leaders who are going to be much better at this than I think some of the older Republican leaders have been.

01:01:58.000 Okay, I'm in a really bad mood, so we're not going to do any things that I like today.

01:02:01.000 We're just going to do a few things that I hate.

01:02:07.000 So, Thing I Hate No.

01:02:08.000 1.

01:02:08.000 So, my friend Joe Rogan yesterday, or a couple of days ago, he had on Sagar Anjani and Crystal Ball.

01:02:14.000 They are the hosts of Breaking Points, which is a political podcast, which is a fun listen.

01:02:18.000 It's an interesting work to listen.

01:02:20.000 Crystal Ball was doing a full-scale defense of Ilhan Omar being a raging Jew-hater.

01:02:24.000 And Joe Rogan, being Joe, was riffing.

01:02:28.000 And as he was riffing, he just sort of dumped out an idea about Jews that is At the very least, not good.

01:02:38.000 Because I'm friends with Joe, I'm going to chalk this up to Joe just riffing.

01:02:42.000 There are a couple of ways to interpret what he is saying right here.

01:02:44.000 Suffice it to say that the meme that Jews are into money, like disproportionately into money, like Jews love the money, that is anti-Semitic.

01:02:52.000 Okay, if you say Jews love money more than other people love money, I'm going to need some evidence on that score, number one. 1.00

01:02:58.000 Number two, It is, in fact, an anti-Jewish statement to suggest that Jews have a particular love for the mullah because they are corrupt or terrible or whatever. 0.64

01:03:08.000 That all ties into... So, here was the bit that went viral yesterday from Joe's show.

01:03:14.000 ...next to Ilyan Omar, where she's apologizing for talking about it's all about the Benjamins.

01:03:19.000 Yeah.

01:03:19.000 Which is just about money.

01:03:21.000 She's talking about money.

01:03:21.000 She shouldn't have apologized.

01:03:22.000 I mean, I'll go ahead and say it.

01:03:23.000 That's not an anti-Semitic statement.

01:03:25.000 It's about, the Benjamins are money.

01:03:25.000 I don't think that is.

01:03:27.000 You know, the idea that Jewish people are not into money is ridiculous. 0.98

01:03:31.000 That's like saying Italians aren't into pizza. 0.99

01:03:31.000 Listen. 0.99

01:03:34.000 It's f***ing stupid. 1.00

01:03:35.000 Listen. 1.00

01:03:36.000 Okay, so there are a couple ways to read that, right?

01:03:38.000 One is the anti-Semitic way, which is Jews are disproportionately into money, right? 0.85

01:03:42.000 And the Italians are into pizza, like, Italians are disproportionately into pizza, Jews are into money, or Italians invented pizza, Jews invented money, like, the Jews are in control of world finance. 0.93

01:03:51.000 The other way to read that is that what he is saying is that Jews like money like everybody else likes money, Italians like pizza like everybody else likes pizza.

01:03:51.000 That's one way to read it.

01:03:59.000 Okay, that is one way to read it.

01:04:00.000 I'll leave it up to you which one you think is more accurate.

01:04:03.000 However, to pretend that that's actually what Ilhan Omar was saying it's not true, okay?

01:04:07.000 Ilhan Omar, when she said it's all about the Benjamins, she was specifically referring to American support for Israel and the suggestion was that AIPAC was paying members of Congress using Jew money in order to get people to support Israel.

01:04:16.000 That was the suggestion from the all about the Benjamins tweet.

01:04:19.000 Okay, so this obviously has gone viral.

01:04:24.000 Joe's not an anti-Semite.

01:04:24.000 I know Joe well.

01:04:26.000 That statement is not good.

01:04:29.000 And, you know, I assume that if I called Joe up, he would say that he meant the second thing, not the first thing.

01:04:35.000 That's what I will assume from that.

01:04:36.000 Because, again, I know Joe.

01:04:38.000 Other things that I hate.

01:04:38.000 Okay.

01:04:41.000 So there's been this story about a Twitch star who apparently was now being, her face was essentially grafted onto AI pornography.

01:04:52.000 So as a not fan of pornography, as a person who thinks that pornography is one of the scourges of Western public life, I have a lot of sympathy for this person.

01:04:59.000 So her name is QT Cinderella, that's what she calls herself. 0.89

01:05:01.000 Her real name is Blair. 0.96

01:05:02.000 And she was a victim of deepfake porn. 1.00

01:05:05.000 So people pasted her face onto a pre-existing adult video to make it look like she was appearing in the pornography. 0.99

01:05:11.000 And people were making fun of her because she was emotional about this.

01:05:14.000 Here is what she sounded like.

01:05:17.000 If you are able to look at women who are not selling themselves or benefiting off of being seen sexually, they're not benefiting, they're not selling it, they're not platforming it themselves.

01:05:30.000 If you are able to look at that, You are the problem.

01:05:34.000 You see women as an object. 0.96

01:05:37.000 You should not be okay doing that.

01:05:43.000 And it should not be a part of my job to have to pay money to get this stuff taken down.

01:05:50.000 It should not be part of my job to be harassed, to see pictures of me nude spread around.

01:05:55.000 It should not be something that is found on the internet.

01:05:58.000 It shouldn't be.

01:05:59.000 That shouldn't be a part of my job.

01:06:02.000 And the fact that it is, is exhausting. 0.95

01:06:08.000 And to the person that made that website, I'm going to f***ing sue you. 0.60

01:06:12.000 This is what it looks like to feel violated. 0.95

01:06:15.000 This is what it looks like to feel taken advantage of.

01:06:19.000 Okay, so people are making fun of her.

01:06:20.000 I saw some on the right, some on the left, people making fun of her. 0.52

01:06:23.000 My sympathies are all with her.

01:06:24.000 Yes, she was exploited. 0.99

01:06:26.000 Yes, she was violated.

01:06:27.000 Yes, there is something deeply wrong with taking a person's face and posting it on another person's naked body and then pretending that person engaged in pornography.

01:06:33.000 But there is something that our culture refuses to say here, and that is that pornography is bad.

01:06:37.000 It is bad for the person who is actively consenting to the pornography.

01:06:41.000 It's bad for the person who is utilizing the pornography.

01:06:43.000 It's bad for the person like this person who is caught apparently in the crossfire having nothing to do with pornography.

01:06:48.000 But you can say it is bad for people to make pornography and to consume pornography.

01:06:52.000 It's okay to say that.

01:06:54.000 On a moral level, it is a bad thing.

01:06:55.000 Pornography is not a net positive for society.

01:06:58.000 It is not a net neutral for society.

01:07:00.000 It teaches men to treat women as sex objects.

01:07:03.000 Obviously, this is the case.

01:07:06.000 And whether women consent to it or not, it is still wrong, by the way. 1.00

01:07:10.000 It's particularly wrong for her because she says, I didn't even consent to be part of this and now you're treating me as a sex object by pasting my face onto nudes of somebody else.

01:07:18.000 And she's totally right about that.

01:07:20.000 But we can also add, That even if she had consented to it, which she did not, it would still be wrong.

01:07:26.000 It is bad for the soul.

01:07:27.000 Human beings are not supposed to see each other that way, ideally, which is why we used to confine sexual activity to marriage and commitment and love.

01:07:34.000 And now we no longer do.

01:07:35.000 And the wages of that are an incredibly destructive culture that catches innocent people, like this person, in the crossfire.

01:07:42.000 Alrighty, guys, we've reached the end of today's show, but if you're not a member, you should be.
