00:00:24.000 But as you know, the left's assault on America is far from over.

00:00:48.000 Alrighty, folks.

00:00:49.000 So, Joe Biden is officially out of the race.

00:00:51.000 He announced it via Twitter of all places.

00:00:54.000 Eastern time, about 146.

00:00:57.000 Eastern time, he announced it via Twitter, which I guess Elon wins since that's the way he decided to do it.

00:01:03.000 I thought that if Joe Biden was going to do this, he would have announced that he had a presser or some sort of big statement that he was going to give from the Oval Office or from the White House somewhere.

00:01:12.000 And then he was going to do that at a preset time later in the evening.

00:01:15.000 That is not how he chose to do it.

00:01:16.000 Instead, he released the following letter.

00:01:19.000 Here's the text of the letter.

00:01:21.000 Again, just a screenshot released via Twitter, quote, My fellow Americans, over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a nation.

00:01:28.000 Today, America has the strongest economy in the world.

00:01:31.000 We've made historic investments in rebuilding our nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans.

00:01:38.000 We've provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances.

00:01:42.000 Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years.

00:01:44.000 Appointed the first African-American woman to the Supreme Court.

00:01:47.000 By the way, only he's allowed to mention that. 0.98

00:01:49.000 If you mention that, you're a racist.

00:01:50.000 And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. 0.88

00:01:53.000 Hmm, interesting.

00:01:54.000 Hmm.

00:01:54.000 I feel like if that were true, he would not be dropping out of the race.

00:01:56.000 today.

00:01:57.000 I feel like if that were true, he would not be dropping out of the race.

00:02:01.000 He wouldn't have like a 32% approval rating.

00:02:03.000 He continues, I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people.

00:02:06.000 Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since

00:02:10.000 the Great Depression.

00:02:14.000 We protected and preserved our democracy and we've revitalized and strengthened our alliances

00:02:18.000 Like, every element of this, of course, is untrue, which is the real reason he is dropping out, as we'll get to in a moment.

00:02:22.000 It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president, and while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.

00:02:33.000 I'll speak to the nation later this week in more detail about my decision.

00:02:36.000 For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me re-elected.

00:02:40.000 I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work, and let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

00:02:49.000 I believe today what I always have, there's nothing America can't do when we do it together.

00:02:52.000 We just have to remember we are the United States of America and a bully band.

00:02:56.000 Okay, now, there are many things about this message that are rather shocking.

00:03:00.000 Number one, he says that he is stepping away from his candidacy but not from the presidency.

00:03:06.000 So why?

00:03:06.000 And that's the obvious question.

00:03:08.000 If you are in a state of senility, you need to step away from the presidency because we're about to launch into one of the most dangerous periods in American history. 0.90

00:03:16.000 The rest of the world knows that Joe Biden is a lame duck president.

00:03:19.000 They know that at very best, his successor might be able to take over for another term. 0.55

00:03:25.000 But they also know that he's totally senile and not in control of his faculties at this point.

00:03:29.000 I mean, when Joe Biden wakes up and someone tells him he's no longer running for president, he's going to be quite shocked about that, I would assume.

00:03:36.000 I mean, by the way, he could wake up tomorrow and undo this, I would assume also, since he's been vacillating on this, as we now know, for weeks.

00:03:43.000 But this means a couple of big things, obviously.

00:03:46.000 It means that Kamala Harris, as we'll see in a moment, is likely to be the Democratic presidential nominee for president. 0.93

00:03:51.000 It also means that the primary system just doesn't exist anymore.

00:03:53.000 That if you decide The party decides that a candidate is running so weak against the opposition that they can't possibly win, that if they can put the screws to that person sufficiently, that person will step aside.

00:04:05.000 Joe Biden in this letter never makes mention of why he's dropping out.

00:04:08.000 He never makes mention of why, right?

00:04:09.000 He doesn't say he's doing it because he's senile, even though that's clearly the case.

00:04:13.000 Instead, all he says is that it's in the best interest of his party and the country for him to stand down and focus on fulfilling his duties as president.

00:04:21.000 So he's saying the quiet part out loud.

00:04:22.000 The real reason he's dropping out is because he's losing to Donald Trump.

00:04:26.000 That basically Donald Trump clocked him so hard in the debate, and frankly, he fell down on the job so poorly in the debate, that that ended his presidential candidacy.

00:04:33.000 So he's not dropping out because he won't be able to fulfill a second term.

00:04:38.000 He in his own mind believes that he absolutely would be able to fulfill a second term.

00:04:42.000 He's dropping out because he is losing and losing really, really badly. 0.99

00:04:46.000 So Joe Biden is dropping out because he's losing really, really badly, but all of his friends are saying that he's a hero for dropping out, which is unbelievably stupid. 0.93

00:04:52.000 It doesn't make you a hero to drop out of a race that you are losing when everyone forces you out of the race. 0.99

00:04:56.000 But you know what is not stupid? 0.98

00:04:58.000 Getting life insurance. 0.89

00:04:59.000 It is actually very, very important for you to get life insurance.

00:05:52.000 That's PolicyGenius.com slash Shapiro.

00:05:54.000 So the initial speculation, the minute that this came out, was that there was something weird about the letter in that Joe Biden actually had not endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency.

00:06:04.000 Then, just a few minutes later, he tweeted that he, in fact, would endorse her for the presidency.

00:06:08.000 It was about half an hour later.

00:06:11.000 My fellow Democrats, I've decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my

00:06:14.000 energies on my duties as president for the remainder of my term.

00:06:16.000 My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my vice

00:06:20.000 president and it's been the best decision I've made.

00:06:23.000 Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.

00:06:27.000 Democrats, it's time to come together and beat Trump.

00:06:30.000 Let's do this.

00:06:31.000 It's pretty humiliating for him because he has to admit that Kamala Harris, who's wildly unpopular and terrible at her job, actually has a better shot at beating Trump than he does. 0.77

00:06:40.000 It also must be sort of humiliating because we know that Jill really does not like Kamala Harris at all.

00:06:45.000 For her part, Kamala Harris put out a statement Her statement reads, quote, On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country.

00:06:55.000 His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many presidents who have served two terms in office.

00:07:02.000 So now we're going to get the kiss story of Joe Biden.

00:07:05.000 This was the trade.

00:07:06.000 The trade was, we'll have a DNC where we pay homage to the wonders of Joe Biden.

00:07:10.000 And then, it's not Joe Biden's fault if the Democratic Party goes down in flames.

00:07:14.000 It's whoever gets appointed next to run against Donald Trump.

00:07:17.000 That is the bargain.

00:07:18.000 And presumably, there'll be a very, very well apportioned presidential library in Rehoboth Beach or something.

00:07:23.000 Kamala Harris continues, it is a profound honor to serve as his vice president.

00:07:26.000 I am deeply grateful to the president, Dr. Biden, and the entire Biden family.

00:07:29.000 I first came to know President Biden through his son, Beau.

00:07:32.000 We were friends from our days working together as attorneys general of our home states.

00:07:35.000 As we worked together, Beau would tell me stories about his dad, the kind of father and the kind of man he was, and the qualities Beau revered in his father are the same qualities, the same values I've seen every single day in Joe's leadership as president.

00:07:46.000 His honesty and integrity, his big heart and commitment to his faith and his family, his love of our country and the American people.

00:07:51.000 Okay, let's be real about this.

00:07:52.000 None of this is true.

00:07:54.000 Joe Biden is a self-interested politician.

00:07:56.000 He has been since he was 29 years old and when he won his first Senate race and immediately started using his senatorial power in Delaware to direct corrupt activities to the benefit of his family.

00:08:06.000 Again, as far as the idea that he is honest and filled with integrity, this is going to be a serious question for Kamala Harris.

00:08:12.000 We'll get to many of the attack lines on Kamala Harris in a little bit, but one of the big ones is going to be Kamala knew that he was senile for literally two years and just weeks ago was talking about how the man was reciting Virgil in Latin backwards upside down behind closed doors.

00:08:28.000 So she was complicit in lying to the American people.

00:08:32.000 By the way, today, she could 25th Amendment him.

00:08:35.000 Today, she could lead the way to get the cabinet to get rid of Joe Biden as president because, again, he is senile.

00:08:41.000 She is not doing this, which means it is all political for these people.

00:08:45.000 She says, with the Selfless and Patriotic Act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life, putting the American people and our country above everything else.

00:08:52.000 Again, that is a really weird way to read.

00:08:54.000 He's losing a race, and so now he's dropping out.

00:08:57.000 That's a very strange way to read that. 0.62

00:08:59.000 He's running a crappy race, He's really bad at this, and he's senile.

00:09:03.000 He's not dropping—we can't say that he should drop from the race because he's senile, because then he'd also have to drop from the presidency.

00:09:08.000 So instead, we're going to say that he's undergoing a massive sacrifice by stepping out of the race.

00:09:12.000 The real question should be, why is he incapable of defending his record?

00:09:16.000 If the problem is not the senility, why isn't he capable of defending his record?

00:09:21.000 Pretty good question, right?

00:09:23.000 The answer is, it's the senility.

00:09:25.000 And realistically, it's not even the senility.

00:09:26.000 Realistically, it is just the fact that Joe Biden is getting whomped in the polls right now by Donald Trump.

00:09:32.000 In the immediate lead up to him stepping out, polling showed Trump winning Virginia and the Rust Belt.

00:09:39.000 The RealClearPolitics projected electoral college showing had him winning 325 electoral college votes against Joe Biden's 213.

00:09:46.000 That is, in fact, a blowout.

00:09:47.000 There was a poll that came out in the hours before Joe Biden decided to step out showing that Joe Biden was getting clobbered in Michigan by fully seven points.

00:09:57.000 According to Politico, Joe Biden was far outspending Donald Trump even before the debate, and it was having no impact at all.

00:10:03.000 So the real reason, again, he's getting out is because he's losing.

00:10:06.000 And so they've decided they're going to pull their starting pitcher and they're going to put in a reliever.

00:10:10.000 And the reliever is apparently Kamala Harris.

00:10:12.000 She says, I'm honored to have the president's endorsement.

00:10:15.000 My intention is to earn and win this nomination.

00:10:16.000 No, wait a second, you're not going to earn anything.

00:10:18.000 She's never earned anything.

00:10:19.000 Are you kidding me?

00:10:20.000 Kamala Harris is going to earn and win? 1.00

00:10:21.000 Like, really?

00:10:23.000 Kamala Harris, are you serious?

00:10:25.000 She's never earned or won anything.

00:10:28.000 She was legitimately handed her original post in California state government because she was sleeping with Willie Brown. 1.00

00:10:34.000 And then he backed her in her race for San Francisco DA.

00:10:37.000 And then she lucked into her job as attorney general of the state.

00:10:41.000 And then from there, she really lucked into her job as senator.

00:10:44.000 And then she ran the worst presidential campaign, like one of the worst of all time. 0.99

00:10:47.000 And then she proceeded to luck into her job as vice president. 0.97

00:10:50.000 Earn and win the nomination.

00:10:51.000 She's not earning and winning anything. 0.99

00:10:52.000 She's inheriting it. 0.93

00:10:53.000 Joe Biden is trying to transfer over his delegates to her.

00:10:56.000 And his money, by the way.

00:10:58.000 Because it turns out that that giant $100 million stash for the Biden-Harris campaign still can be used by, wait for it, Kamala Harris.

00:11:06.000 She says, over the past year, I've traveled across the country talking with Americans

00:11:09.000 about the clear choice in this momentous election. That is what I will continue to do in the days and

00:11:12.000 weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party and unite our nation

00:11:16.000 to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.

00:11:19.000 By the way, that is your first hint that she is going to be running a very bad race. If her 1.00

00:11:23.000 opener is Project 2025, that does not scare people because Donald Trump doesn't even know what it is

00:11:28.000 and you don't know what it is and no one knows what it is.

00:11:31.000 It is a 922-page program from the Heritage Foundation that no one alive has read, ever, or will.

00:11:38.000 If that is the bleeding point of the spear for her, good luck. 0.71

00:11:41.000 She says, we have 107 days until election day.

00:11:43.000 Together we will fight and together we will win.

00:11:45.000 Well, we will find out.

00:11:47.000 Meanwhile, oddly enough, the Clintons immediately swiveled behind Kamala Harris. 0.94

00:11:52.000 But you know who didn't?

00:11:53.000 The Obamas.

00:11:54.000 So Bill Clinton put out a statement on behalf of both himself and Hillary Clinton.

00:11:58.000 And this was presumably to take Hillary Clinton off the table as a possible kind of last minute dark horse candidate who would jump into some sort of open convention scenario. 1.00

00:12:07.000 They put out a statement supportive of Biden and also of Kamala Harris.

00:12:10.000 He said, President Biden has capped his extraordinary career of service with a presidency that has

00:12:14.000 lifted America out of an unprecedented pandemic, created millions of new jobs, blah, blah,

00:12:18.000 blah, blah, blah, blah.

00:12:20.000 We join millions of Americans in thanking President Biden for all he has accomplished,

00:12:24.000 standing up for America time and again, with his North Star always being what's best for

00:12:27.000 the country.

00:12:29.000 Which country?

00:12:29.000 Like China?

00:12:30.000 Or like, you know, whichever country is paying his family.

00:12:33.000 But we are honored to join the President in endorsing Vice President Harris, and we'll do whatever we can to support her.

00:12:38.000 And then they just start ripping on Donald Trump.

00:12:41.000 So the Clintons, they are backing Kamala Harris.

00:12:43.000 That's not exactly a pure relationship, but let me tell you something that is pure.

00:13:43.000 Meanwhile, Barack Obama put out a statement, and the entire statement is about the magic of Joe Biden.

00:13:47.000 Now, let's be clear.

00:13:49.000 Joe Biden and Barack Obama hate each other with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. 1.00

00:13:54.000 Barack Obama correctly believes that Joe Biden is an idiot. 1.00

00:13:56.000 Barack Obama correctly believes that Joe Biden is a failure. 1.00

00:13:59.000 And he believes that Joe Biden is only president because he rode Barack Obama's coattails.

00:14:03.000 And Joe Biden knows that Barack Obama believes all these things.

00:14:06.000 And so one of the big problems here is that Obama and his team are putting serious pressure on Joe Biden to drop out.

00:14:11.000 And specifically because Joe hates Barack and Barack hates Joe, Joe lasted longer than he might otherwise have.

00:14:18.000 Because they do not get along.

00:14:20.000 Barack Obama sees himself as the creator of Joe Biden and he's embarrassed by that because Joe Biden is an embarrassing person.

00:14:27.000 So Barack Obama puts out a statement, quote, 16 years ago, when I began my search for vice president, I know about Joe's remarkable career on the public surface.

00:14:35.000 What I came to admire even more was his character, his deep empathy, his hard-earned resilience, his fundamental decency and belief that everyone counts.

00:14:43.000 And he goes on and on and on along these lines, paragraph after paragraph.

00:14:47.000 And then he gets to the part that's really interesting.

00:14:48.000 He says, we will be navigating uncharted waters in the day ahead.

00:14:51.000 But I have extraordinary confidence the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.

00:14:57.000 So you notice what they're not doing right there.

00:15:00.000 The thing they are not doing is endorsing Kamala Harris.

00:15:02.000 Now, that doesn't mean that they're not behind the scenes endorsing Kamala Harris.

00:15:07.000 There are a lot of people who are speculating out there that the reason they're not endorsing Kamala is because they think they're going to jet set in Michelle at the last minute and Michelle will be the candidate.

00:15:14.000 That would be a smart move for Democrats. 0.84

00:15:16.000 I really don't think that's going to happen.

00:15:17.000 Michelle has very little interest in running for higher office again. 0.84

00:15:20.000 She had enough of it when Barack was president.

00:15:22.000 Beyond that, Barack and Kamala are very close.

00:15:24.000 You'll recall.

00:15:25.000 Years ago, Barack Obama said she was the hottest AG in the country.

00:15:29.000 And then he had to apologize for that.

00:15:31.000 And then he made one of the final calls to Joe Biden to convince Joe Biden to take Kamala Harris as the vice president.

00:15:35.000 So again, I think it's possible to overread what Obama is doing here, to read it as a sort of initiation of a battle against Kamala Harris.

00:15:43.000 I don't think that's what's going to happen here.

00:15:45.000 So what happens next?

00:15:47.000 According to the Washington Post, There are two paths for replacing him at the top of the ticket.

00:15:53.000 The first is this virtual convention.

00:15:54.000 So the virtual convention, which really is all of the delegates just voting, that's supposed to happen between August 1st and August 7th.

00:16:00.000 That is the reason there was a big rush to get Joe Biden out of the race.

00:16:03.000 The hope is that the virtual convention will lock it up for Kamala before you get to the open convention.

00:16:07.000 An open convention would be, everybody arrives at the convention, which is just happening August 19th in Chicago.

00:16:14.000 It'll be like 1968 all over again if it's an open convention.

00:16:17.000 And nobody knows exactly who the nominee will be, and then there are riots outside, and all of the rest.

00:16:22.000 So they're trying to forestall that by ramming Kamala Harris through very, very early.

00:16:27.000 So again, he's now endorsed Vice President Harris.

00:16:30.000 That doesn't mean that his delegates automatically go to her, but heavy advisory role, right?

00:16:35.000 And again, Bill Clinton has now endorsed, Hillary Clinton has now endorsed Barack Obama.

00:16:39.000 He will.

00:16:39.000 He will end up endorsing in the end.

00:16:41.000 Again, I think that all of the happy talk about the possibility of other people jumping in, highly unlikely.

00:16:46.000 Josh Shapiro, a possible rival.

00:16:48.000 He's the governor of Pennsylvania.

00:16:49.000 He's already endorsed Kamala Harris.

00:16:51.000 Gavin Newsom, by proxy, has effectively endorsed Kamala Harris at this point.

00:16:55.000 Gretchen Whitmer has apparently already told NBC News she has no intent on jumping in. 0.75

00:16:59.000 There are no other possible rivals.

00:17:01.000 So that means it's Kamala.

00:17:03.000 It's Kamala.

00:17:03.000 So what does that actually mean for the race?

00:17:07.000 Well, it means a bunch of things.

00:17:08.000 One, this is now a totally new race. 1.00

00:17:10.000 It's a totally new race because, again, the entire Trump campaign, as you would, was directed against Joe Biden.

00:17:15.000 And that meant that the campaign had Joe Biden on the ropes on the basis of policy.

00:17:20.000 And then after the debate, Joe Biden started to physically fall apart and mentally fall apart in front of everybody.

00:17:25.000 And so the entire campaign swiveled to focus on the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of fulfilling the job.

00:17:30.000 Now that Joe Biden is out, that means that the Trump campaign is going to have to come up with a bunch of other angles They're gonna need a totally new playbook.

00:17:37.000 What are the best lines of attack on Kamala Harris?

00:17:41.000 Also, the entire dynamic of the race shifts.

00:17:43.000 Because, as I've said this entire election cycle, if this race is a referendum on Donald Trump, he is going to lose.

00:17:49.000 If the race is a referendum on the Democratic candidate, the Democratic candidate, who was Joe Biden, was going to lose.

00:17:54.000 It very clearly became a referendum on Joe Biden as soon as he went up there on the debate stage and made a mess of himself.

00:18:01.000 As soon as he pooped his pants on the debate stage, it was basically over for Joe Biden.

00:18:05.000 Because all you could think about when you thought about the presidential race was Joe Biden.

00:18:09.000 Well, in the last week, obviously, a lot of focus has shifted back to Donald Trump because of the assassination attempt, because of the RNC.

00:18:14.000 And now Joe Biden is out.

00:18:16.000 And so the Democrats have replaced their biggest liability in Joe Biden.

00:18:19.000 Now, that doesn't mean that Kamala Harris is popular.

00:18:21.000 She is very, very not popular. 0.87

00:18:23.000 The polls that do exist between Harris and Trump demonstrate that Trump still has the advantage.

00:18:31.000 Those polls have high levels of variability.

00:18:33.000 There's some polls showing Trump up as much as 11 points on Kamala Harris, and then there are other polls that show them basically dead even.

00:18:40.000 Kamala is a very unpopular vice president.

00:18:43.000 Her approval rating is somewhere in the low 30s.

00:18:48.000 Nate Silver has a pretty good rundown.

00:18:50.000 The case against Kamala Harris and the case for Kamala Harris.

00:18:54.000 The case against her is that she has a really bad track record.

00:18:57.000 She's run a bunch of bad campaigns, going all the way back to her original senatorial campaign. 1.00

00:19:01.000 She spent way too much money. 0.98

00:19:02.000 She was able to survive that because she was running against Loretta Sanchez. 0.99

00:19:06.000 She effectively had no rival in that race.

00:19:09.000 And so she was able to walk into the office, but she ran a very bad campaign. 0.98

00:19:12.000 Then she ran a very, very bad presidential campaign. 0.99

00:19:14.000 So can she run a very, very good presidential campaign this time? 0.99

00:19:17.000 That's a big problem for her. 1.00

00:19:20.000 Nate Silver also makes the point that there's been a lot of talk about Kamala Harris driving out higher numbers of black voters.

00:19:25.000 But, as he says, Kamala Harris might have a larger Electoral College popular vote gap than Biden if she does worse among white voters but better among voters of color. 1.00

00:19:34.000 In other words, if she ends up freighting a bunch of voters who are black and Hispanic For white people in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, then she could actually lose worse than Biden in those particular areas.

00:19:47.000 She also inherits all the policies of the administration.

00:19:51.000 She has been the representative of many of those policies.

00:19:55.000 The fact that there has been this massive cover-up of Joe Biden's health, and that she's been complicit in that, is going to be a line of attack against her.

00:20:02.000 Most people do not like her very much.

00:20:04.000 She's going to inherit Joe Biden's campaign staff, presumably. 0.80

00:20:08.000 The upside is that she's alive, right?

00:20:10.000 That's the big upside for the Democrats.

00:20:11.000 She's not Joe Biden.

00:20:12.000 So you've already seen them start to retell their line of attack against Donald Trump.

00:20:16.000 Their line of attack is that she is 59 and he is 78.

00:20:18.000 The age issue is now flipped.

00:20:21.000 So it's now about Donald Trump.

00:20:23.000 Now, do most people believe that Donald Trump is in anything remotely like the shape that Joe Biden was?

00:20:28.000 Of course not.

00:20:28.000 Nobody thinks that.

00:20:29.000 However, that is going to be the case they make, is that we dumped our old, unpopular candidate.

00:20:33.000 You guys are still running your old, unpopular candidate.

00:20:36.000 That is why she will do better than Joe Biden would.

00:20:40.000 Also worth noting, all the Democratic Senate candidates in this race, up until very recently, were doing much, much better than Joe Biden, which sort of suggests that the problem might be Biden, not necessarily that the problem is Kamala Harris.

00:20:50.000 Her disapproval rating is approximately 50%.

00:20:53.000 Biden's was like 57%.

00:20:57.000 She also has a pretty high floor, as Nate Silver points out.

00:20:59.000 That's the case for her. 0.84

00:21:00.000 A lot of Normie Dems are going to come back.

00:21:02.000 The fundraisers will open up again.

00:21:04.000 All the money will start flowing once again.

00:21:06.000 And again, the Republicans are going to have to come up with some sort of actual attack line against Kamala Harris, which is harder than it is with Joe Biden, because while she's the vice president, she's not actually the president. 0.91

00:21:17.000 You can see that the sort of depressed voter turnout that Republicans were counting on for Democrats, that may start to dissipate as well.

00:21:23.000 Now, again, does Donald Trump still have the advantage?

00:21:26.000 Absolutely.

00:21:27.000 Yes, he does.

00:21:27.000 He clearly has the advantage right now in this race.

00:21:29.000 It's still a time of turmoil.

00:21:31.000 Kamala hasn't been formally even named the nominee at this point.

00:21:35.000 With that said, it's a very different race.

00:21:36.000 And what this means, if you're a Republican, is whatever you thought was going to happen, you need to go out and work three to four times as hard to make sure that it actually does, in fact, happen.

00:21:45.000 The race has changed. 0.97

00:21:47.000 In an instant, it has really, really changed.

00:21:49.000 Act Blue raked in nearly $50 million in the seven hours after Harris's campaign launch.

00:21:55.000 That is a massive amount of money.

00:21:57.000 The donors immediately came out off the bench and started throwing money at Kamala Harris' campaign. 0.81

00:22:04.000 Well, with Kamala Harris now the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, the question of Israel is, of course, still in the news because she is not good on Israel.

00:22:11.000 In fact, Israel is maybe the only country I've ever heard of that is continually called upon to fight for its own existence.

00:22:17.000 In a situation like this, it's especially important to know who your friends are.

00:22:20.000 The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and its hundreds of thousands of Christian and Jewish supporters are such friends.

00:22:25.000 For more than 40 years, the Fellowship has been working to alleviate poverty and provide security both in Israel and in Jewish communities around the world.

00:22:32.000 They've helped hundreds of thousands of Jews from around the world make Aliyah to their Biblical homeland.

00:22:36.000 That's why I partnered with the Fellowship, both in times of crisis and every day.

00:22:39.000 They are there on the ground efficiently and effectively delivering aid when people need it most.

00:22:54.000 That's BenForTheFellowship.org.

00:22:55.000 God bless and thank you, BenForTheFellowship.org.

00:22:58.000 If passed is prologue and the Biden administration has been terrible for Israel, a Kamala Harris administration would be much worse.

00:23:04.000 Well, listen, they need your help over there.

00:23:06.000 The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, IFCJ.org.

00:23:10.000 So what exactly are the attack lines going to be on Kamala Harris?

00:23:13.000 Well, J.D.

00:23:13.000 Vance, who's the new vice presidential nominee for the Republicans, he retailed one of those attack lines.

00:23:19.000 In the lead-up to Joe Biden stepping out of the race, he says, you know, what exactly have you ever done, Kamala Harris?

00:23:24.000 This is a good question.

00:23:27.000 Kamala Harris said something to the effect that I have no loyalty to this country.

00:23:38.000 Well, I don't know, Kamala.

00:23:39.000 I did serve in the United States Marine Corps and built a business.

00:23:42.000 What the hell have you done other than collect the check?

00:23:47.000 Now again, it's not going to be J.D.

00:23:48.000 Vance debating Kamala Harris now.

00:23:50.000 Now it's going to be Donald Trump versus Kamala Harris.

00:23:52.000 And that debate is going to be fascinating.

00:23:54.000 It's going to be fascinating, number one, because Kamala Harris, she actually can hold herself together during a debate. 1.00

00:24:00.000 You'll recall that early on, she actually did quite well in her debate against against Joe Biden in the original primary race.

00:24:07.000 And then she sort of held her own with Mike Pence.

00:24:09.000 I mean, like, Mike Pence I think did much better than she did, but I thought that she wasn't absolutely awful.

00:24:14.000 She's not going to die on the stage the way that Joe Biden did.

00:24:16.000 Now, I do think that Donald Trump should prepare for a patented Kamala Harris Random word salad.

00:24:22.000 She serves word salads of all varieties.

00:24:24.000 She's got like a kale word salad. 1.00

00:24:26.000 She's got like a Caesar word salad. 1.00

00:24:28.000 She's got all sorts of Greek words, like all sorts of wonderful types of world.

00:24:31.000 It's basically soup plantation over there in terms of her verbiage. 1.00

00:24:35.000 And so I would be very happy if Donald Trump would reuse the line he used against Joe Biden.

00:24:41.000 He said, I have no idea what you said at the end of that sentence, and I don't think you do either.

00:24:45.000 He can do that, except he can just say, I have no idea what she just said at the end of that sentence, and I don't think she does either.

00:24:50.000 Because that's still true.

00:24:52.000 She is going to be completely incoherent. 0.99

00:24:55.000 So there are a few things that are really good attack lines against Kamala Harris. 0.99

00:24:59.000 One, obviously, is the fact that she is a liar. 1.00

00:25:02.000 She is a liar. 1.00

00:25:02.000 She lied about Joe Biden's health. 1.00

00:25:04.000 She lied about it for months.

00:25:05.000 She lied about it for years.

00:25:07.000 She went out there and she said over and over and over again that he was totally fine and wonderful and everything was cool and great.

00:25:12.000 And it was a lie.

00:25:13.000 And it turns out the American people don't like people who lie about that sort of thing.

00:25:17.000 So that is attack line number one.

00:25:19.000 Attack line number two is she's been fully involved, according to her, in all the Biden administration's bad policies.

00:25:25.000 So she owns it.

00:25:25.000 She doesn't get to pretend that she has nothing to do with that.

00:25:28.000 She owns all of it.

00:25:30.000 Most prominently, for example, the border policy.

00:25:33.000 Joe Biden put her in charge of the border.

00:25:34.000 And then she proceeded to go down to the Northern Triangle and declare that unless the economy of the Northern Triangle was healed, there was nothing they could do.

00:25:41.000 And then she did an interview with Lester Holt in which she lied and said that she'd been down to the border and then was called out on it in real time.

00:25:47.000 Here's your reminder.

00:25:47.000 Here's what that sounded like.

00:25:49.000 There's one other topic I wanted to talk to you about.

00:25:51.000 Let me just quickly put a button.

00:25:53.000 Do you have any plans to visit the border?

00:25:57.000 I'm here in Guatemala today at some point.

00:26:02.000 We are going to the border.

00:26:03.000 We've been to the border.

00:26:05.000 So this whole thing about the border, we've been to the border.

00:26:09.000 We've been to the border.

00:26:10.000 You haven't been to the border.

00:26:13.000 And I haven't been to Europe.

00:26:15.000 I don't understand the point that you're making.

00:26:18.000 And then, of course, Kamala Harris is very famously awkward.

00:26:22.000 And she's really, really awkward and difficult to watch.

00:26:24.000 Really difficult to watch.

00:26:25.000 I mean, we've been mocking Kamala Harris' mannerisms for years at this point.

00:26:29.000 And the random laughter, where she just starts to get uncomfortable.

00:26:43.000 Super random.

00:26:45.000 Not particularly likable.

00:26:46.000 Sort of Hillary Clinton on steroids. 1.00

00:26:48.000 She makes Hillary Clinton look charming. 1.00

00:26:50.000 Now, the difference is, by the time we got to 2016, Hillary Clinton had been in the American public eye since 1992. 0.97

00:26:55.000 Okay, so that is a 24-year period in which Hillary Clinton was in the public eye. 0.82

00:26:59.000 Kamala Harris, I don't even know how many Americans know who Kamala Harris is. 0.78

00:27:02.000 I mean, seriously, most Americans can't name the vice president.

00:27:05.000 So Republicans are going to have to do a good job of characterizing her. 1.00

00:27:08.000 The good news is, there's plenty of tape of her acting like a nut job. 1.00

00:27:11.000 Here, for example, is Kamala Harris talking about coconuts famously.

00:27:14.000 You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?

00:27:19.000 You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.

00:27:26.000 Or if you don't like that, here's some of that patented Kamala Harris word salad.

00:27:31.000 We all watched the television coverage of just yesterday.

00:27:38.000 That's on top of everything else that we know and don't know yet based on what we've just been able to see.

00:27:43.000 And because we've seen it or not doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but just limited to what we have seen.

00:27:49.000 And of course there is her radically weird attempt to laugh off any difficult question.

00:27:54.000 Do you plan to visit the border?

00:27:57.000 Um, not today.

00:28:01.000 But I have before and I'm sure I will again.

00:28:05.000 All of this is going to come to the fore.

00:28:06.000 If you go back to her presidential campaign, she said she wanted to get rid of private health care insurance, for example.

00:28:12.000 On the Middle East, she's a complete mess. 1.00

00:28:14.000 When it comes to domestic policy, she has made many, many radical statements.

00:28:19.000 She literally attempted to bail out rioters in 2020. 0.99

00:28:22.000 All of these things are going to come back.

00:28:24.000 So an attempt to paint her as some sort of moderate is going to be difficult, which is precisely why she's going to attempt to pick somebody who's perceived as a moderate as her vice presidential pick. 1.00

00:29:21.000 BetOnline.

00:29:21.000 The options are endless.

00:29:23.000 Think how much money you would have made, by the way, if you had actually bet on Kamala Harris being the presidential nominee this year.

00:29:29.000 A lot of bets out there because a lot of craziness is out there happening.

00:29:32.000 Check them out at betonline.ag again.

00:29:34.000 That is betonline.ag.

00:29:36.000 Remember, now that she's the nominee, she's going to get to pick the person she wants to run with, presumably around the Democratic convention.

00:29:42.000 Some of the people who have been mentioned, Andy Beshear, who's the governor of Kentucky.

00:29:46.000 I think that'd be an interesting pick, especially because he will almost certainly then be replaced by a Republican in the state of Kentucky.

00:29:54.000 The lieutenant governor of Kentucky right now, Jacqueline Coleman.

00:30:00.000 She's a Democrat, but that's not for long, right?

00:30:03.000 Andy Beshear is kind of one-on-one in Kentucky, and so that means the next election cycle, that state turns entirely red.

00:30:08.000 Kentucky is a very red state.

00:30:10.000 She could theoretically pick Gavin Newsom in California.

00:30:12.000 I think that's very unlikely.

00:30:13.000 A double California ticket makes no sense.

00:30:15.000 And Gavin Newsom is really, really radical.

00:30:17.000 Just last week, he signed into law a law that said that school districts are not allowed to force teachers to report to parents if kids are questioning their gender in the classroom, which is totally insane.

00:30:28.000 I mean, that is a form of child abuse, and Gavin Newsom signed that into law.

00:30:31.000 So I don't think it'll be Gavin Newsom.

00:30:34.000 The name that's been mentioned most often is Josh Shapiro, again, the governor of Pennsylvania.

00:30:37.000 That makes a lot of sense politically because, of course, he is a very moderate Democrat governor from Pennsylvania, first term, extremely popular.

00:30:44.000 The idea would be to take Pennsylvania off the table for President Trump.

00:30:48.000 But, as many people are noting, Democratic Party's got a serious anti-Semitism problem.

00:30:53.000 They are not going to nominate a Jew for the number two. 0.67

00:30:55.000 They're just not going to do it.

00:30:56.000 I'm hearing that from people who literally are members of Congress inside the Democratic Party.

00:31:01.000 That is not some sort of weird, outlandish accusation by me.

00:31:05.000 CNN's John King said the exact same thing yesterday.

00:31:08.000 So, again, I really doubt it's going to be Josh Shapiro.

00:31:11.000 Gretchen Whitmer is a possibility. 1.00

00:31:14.000 The upside on a Gretchen Whitmer selection is that Gretchen Whitmer is, of course, a pretty popular governor of Michigan. 0.98

00:31:19.000 Presumably, Michigan then starts to fall back into the Democratic column.

00:31:24.000 It also exacerbates the gender divide. 0.98

00:31:26.000 So one of the big fascinating stats about this election is that the Democrats are running well with single women and Republicans are running really well with men both single and married.

00:31:34.000 And so you could see Kamala Harris try to double down on abortion and all-female ticket by going with Gretchen Whitmer. 1.00

00:31:39.000 I think it'd be a stupid move. 0.97

00:31:40.000 I think she needs to diversify away from that. 1.00

00:31:42.000 I think she probably will look for a white male. 0.99

00:31:44.000 It's very similar to 2008, actually.

00:31:46.000 In 2008, Barack Obama was specifically looking for a white male in order to diversify away from the fact that he was a black man.

00:31:52.000 And now, in 2024, you would assume that she might try to diversify away from both black and woman and seek a white man in this job. 1.00

00:32:00.000 So you might see her pick somebody like JB Pritzker from Illinois.

00:32:03.000 That's a possibility.

00:32:05.000 You might see her pick One of the senators who has not been mentioned so far, kind of go off the board there.

00:32:12.000 I don't think it's going to matter all that much.

00:32:15.000 In the end, it's going to be Kamala Harris and it's going to be up to Republicans to try to define Kamala Harris. 1.00

00:32:19.000 Now, the left-wing response to all of this has been absolutely fascinating.

00:32:22.000 So it is absolutely amazing that apparently Democrats were completely blindsided inside the Biden administration by Joe Biden dropping out.

00:32:31.000 Like, that's kind of an amazing thing.

00:32:33.000 We'll get to more than that in just one second.

00:32:34.000 First, Joe Biden finally realized that all good things, or in the case of his presidency, all terrible things, must come to an end.

00:33:11.000 Okay, meanwhile, one of the things that's so astonishing about the way that Joe Biden dropped out here is that apparently his staff had no idea he was going to drop out.

00:33:18.000 They spent the weekend saying he absolutely 100% was not going to drop out.

00:33:22.000 In fact, Politico says, quote, Biden's announcement stunned White House and campaign aides, who up until this afternoon were insisting he'd stay in the race.

00:33:29.000 We're all finding out by tweet, said one Dem.

00:33:31.000 None of us understand what's happening.

00:33:33.000 That's definitely a great way to run an administration.

00:33:36.000 And again, the reality is that everybody knew that he had to go, but at the same time, nobody was willing to bet on the idea that he was going to go.

00:33:43.000 I mean, as of this weekend, Tara Palmieri, right?

00:33:46.000 This reporter writes for a variety of publications.

00:33:48.000 She said that Hunter Biden was the one making the call and he was totally dug in.

00:33:52.000 It shook a lot of Dems to see, because most people don't get a lot of access to Joe Biden, and seeing him speak that way, they were like, whoa.

00:34:01.000 It seemed unhinged.

00:34:05.000 A lot of people use that word.

00:34:07.000 And yes, to your point, every single meeting he has now, I mean, this is the argument for Joe Biden is just not going to be able to survive this because every single meeting he has, it is going to be every single person that wants to get him out of the race is going to like either record it or like leak it.

00:34:23.000 And it could be really bad.

00:34:26.000 OK, but the people who are still with him, Jill Hunter, right?

00:34:30.000 And Hunter is dug in, I'm told.

00:34:32.000 That is my understanding.

00:34:34.000 I mean, first of all, that's amazing that Hunter was the one who was theoretically having impact on this.

00:34:38.000 James Clyburn spent the weekend before Joe Biden announced he was dropping out saying that he supported Joe Biden.

00:34:44.000 Joe Biden has been through a process, along with Kamala Harris, and they have received over 14 million votes to be our standard bearers.

00:34:57.000 That process lends itself well to us getting to the convention as a unified party, and that's what we need to do.

00:35:07.000 I support Joe Biden.

00:35:09.000 He is still in this race. 0.99

00:35:11.000 He will be our nominee if he stays in the race.

00:35:15.000 And I think all of us should look for ways to coalesce around that candidacy.

00:35:21.000 Now, I have said when I've been asked, what will it take for you to change your mind?

00:35:27.000 It will take him changing his mind.

00:35:29.000 Okay, that was like less than four hours before Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

00:35:33.000 Meanwhile, Democratic National Committee co-chair Cedric Richmond on Sunday morning literally said that Joe Biden was staying in the race.

00:35:41.000 I want to be crystal clear.

00:35:43.000 He's made a decision, and that decision is to accept the nomination and run for re-election, win re-election.

00:35:51.000 And I think that there are those out there that need to hear it again, that he made a decision.

00:35:57.000 He's going to be the candidate.

00:35:58.000 He's going to be the next president.

00:36:00.000 And now it's time to focus on the threat that Donald Trump poses.

00:36:04.000 What the extreme agenda is on the other side.

00:36:06.000 I mean, it is quite fascinating that this White House is so inconsistent and so crazy that they had let no one know that they were going to drop out until Joe Biden put it out via Twitter.

00:36:17.000 He still has not made a public statement with his face on it, announcing something as monumental as, I am the nominee and I am not going to take the nomination.

00:36:24.000 That's an insane thing.

00:36:26.000 The reaction inside the Democratic Party has been almost entirely positive, but of course there are some very bitter clingers, you might say, in the Biden team.

00:36:33.000 Ron Klain, who is Biden's Chief of Staff said, quote, Now that the donors and electeds have pushed out the only candidate who has ever beaten Trump, it's time to end the political fancy games and unite behind the only veteran of a national campaign, our outstanding VP, Kamala Harris.

00:36:44.000 Let's get real and win in November again.

00:36:47.000 She's a very bad candidate. 1.00

00:36:48.000 And frankly, I'm looking forward to them trying this with Kamala Harris.

00:36:52.000 Like if you had to pick as a Republican, who would you want to replace Joe Biden on the ticket if Joe Biden had to be replaced as a Republican?

00:36:58.000 My answer would be Kamala Harris.

00:37:00.000 Certainly wouldn't be, you know, a Josh Shapiro or Gretchen Whitmer.

00:37:03.000 Senator John Fetterman, he said people pushed out an honorable man, loving father and great president before an absolute sleazeball like Bob Menendez.

00:37:10.000 Congratulations.

00:37:12.000 Fact check true on that one.

00:37:15.000 Meanwhile, the Democratic press, they were immediately attempting to trot out the narrative that he was a hero.

00:37:21.000 Joe Biden is a hero for dropping out of a race he was losing.

00:37:24.000 That is an amazing statement.

00:37:25.000 It truly is.

00:37:26.000 And it really shows very little respect to Democratic primary voters.

00:37:29.000 There were 14 million Democratic primary voters who voted for Joe Biden.

00:37:33.000 Now, to be fair, there was no real rival to him in the primaries, but that, again, was the fault of the Democratic Party, which lied to you for years.

00:37:41.000 For years, saying that he was perfectly sentient, perfectly with it, perfectly well.

00:37:45.000 That is the reason they crowded everyone out of the primaries.

00:37:47.000 They literally rigged the primaries in order to prevent anyone from presenting opposition to Biden, and only when Joe Biden made the single-handedly idiotic move of accelerating the debate to June, and then insisting on doing it in the first place, only at that point did everybody suddenly come out of the woodwork and say, this guy's got to go.

00:38:05.000 Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, he put out a statement saying, Joe Biden has not only been a great president, Nope.

00:38:10.000 And a great legislative leader?

00:38:11.000 Nope.

00:38:12.000 But he's a truly amazing human being?

00:38:13.000 Also nope.

00:38:14.000 His decision, of course, was not easy.

00:38:15.000 He once again put the country, his party, our future first.

00:38:18.000 Today he shows you are a true patriot and a great American.

00:38:21.000 Again, I'm just wondering how it is that dropping out of a race that you are losing shows that you are a great patriot.

00:38:28.000 Like really, that's your mark?

00:38:29.000 It just shows you know how to read a poll occasionally, is what it actually shows.

00:38:33.000 Nancy Pelosi, who, I mean, the fingerprints on the dagger between Joe Biden's shoulder blades, the fingerprints belong to one Nancy Pelosi.

00:38:42.000 She put out a statement also saying, quote, President Joe Biden is a patriotic American who has always put our country first.

00:38:47.000 His legacy of vision, values, and leadership make him one of the most consequential presidents in American history.

00:38:51.000 With love and gratitude to President Biden for always believing in the promise of America and giving people the opportunity to reach their fulfillment, God bless America with Joe Biden's greatness and goodness, which is why I stabbed him directly in the back and tossed his prone body over a cliff.

00:39:04.000 You know, all of the lefties who are currently celebrating him are all people who wanted him to go, which is hilarious.

00:39:10.000 They're all people who were instrumental in his downfall.

00:39:12.000 And they're like, oh my God, I'm so glad that now that Julius Caesar is lying on the floor in a puddle of his own blood, and you know, I'm one of the people who's shoved a knife in him.

00:39:20.000 I mean, now I'm really, what a hero he was, truly.

00:39:22.000 You know, really taking one for the team over there.

00:39:24.000 Ezra Klein of the New York Times doing the same routine.

00:39:26.000 This is what America first looks like when it's a lived ethos rather than a mask for narcissism and ambition.

00:39:32.000 Joe Biden is not narcissistic or ambitious.

00:39:36.000 That's weird.

00:39:37.000 That's weird.

00:39:38.000 John Favreau, again, Team Obama.

00:39:40.000 Again, Team Obama, their fingerprints all over the knife.

00:39:43.000 John Favreau's is a courageous and selfless decision.

00:39:46.000 The president did what he's done for the last four years.

00:39:47.000 He listens to the American people and put the country's interests ahead of his own.

00:39:51.000 Or, alternatively, he got the picture that you guys were going to go nuts on him if he lost to Donald Trump.

00:39:59.000 And so you forced him from the race. 0.90

00:40:01.000 And now he's going to be able to blame whatever happens next on Kamala Harris and you guys.

00:40:05.000 So, enjoy.

00:40:06.000 Donald Trump, for his part, put out a statement that is very Trumpian.

00:40:08.000 Quote, Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for president and is certainly not fit to serve, and never was.

00:40:13.000 He only attained the position of president by lies, fake news, and not leaving his basement.

00:40:17.000 That was Trump's immediate response to Kamala Harris becoming the nominee and Joe Biden dropping out.

00:40:20.000 president and he wasn't. And now look what he's done to our country with

00:40:22.000 millions of people coming across our border totally unchecked and unvetted

00:40:25.000 many from prisons mental institutions and record numbers of terrorists will

00:40:28.000 suffer greatly because of his presidency but we will remedy the damage he has

00:40:31.000 done very quickly make America great again. That was Trump's immediate

00:40:35.000 response to Kamala Harris becoming the nominee and Joe Biden dropping out.

00:40:40.000 Again Kamala Harris is not formally there. And then of course over the course

00:40:43.000 of the day he continued to push on this.

00:40:48.000 Quote, Crooked Joe just got knocked out, so now I'll have to do it a fourth time.

00:40:52.000 And then he says, Crooked Joe is the worst president by far in the history of our nation.

00:40:57.000 Whoever the left puts up now will just be more of the same.

00:40:59.000 Make America great again.

00:41:02.000 Does anyone really believe Crooked Joe had COVID?

00:41:03.000 No.

00:41:04.000 He wanted to get out ever since June 27th, the night of the debate, when he was completely obliterated.

00:41:08.000 That was the big moment in Joe Biden's demise.

00:41:10.000 I mean, again, that's kind of true.

00:41:14.000 It also happens to be pretty rich, coming from the, we love democracy, democracy must never be disobeyed, for the party elite to oust Joe Biden.

00:41:24.000 Like, that's kind of funny.

00:41:25.000 It's a little funny.

00:41:26.000 They're constantly talking about coups, the overthrowing of the will of the people.

00:41:30.000 Well, maybe the people, by polling, don't like Joe Biden at this point, but they certainly liked him enough when they were voting for him in the primaries, and I was under the impression that there was in fact a primary process.

00:41:40.000 Apparently that is no longer.

00:41:41.000 Now, Republicans for their parts are going to continue to push more and more and more.

00:41:47.000 Four, Joe Biden not just to step out of the nominee position, but to step out of the presidency entirely, which they should.

00:41:53.000 We are now in extraordinarily dangerous waters.

00:41:56.000 Again, we have a president who is not sentient.

00:41:58.000 He's not running for re-election. 1.00

00:41:59.000 He's a lame duck. 0.99

00:42:00.000 He has no support. 0.96

00:42:01.000 And he is going to be in charge of the country until at least January, unless Kamala Harris does something about that.

00:42:06.000 So serious pressure should be put on Kamala Harris.

00:42:08.000 She should be asked, do you think that Joe Biden is mentally well?

00:42:13.000 Do you think Joe Biden is mentally well?

00:42:14.000 That's a live question, not because Joe Biden's the nominee, but because Joe Biden's the president.

00:42:18.000 And the person responsible for invoking the 25th Amendment would be, wait for it, Kamala Harris. 1.00

00:42:23.000 The number one question she should be asked over and over and over again, aside from obviously all of her policies and her failures at the border, the number one question is, is your boss fit to be president today?

00:42:35.000 She should be forced to answer that because if the answer is no, she actually does have the capacity to stop this entire charade.

00:42:41.000 And if the answer is yes, Then she's lying.

00:42:44.000 And we know that that's the case.

00:42:45.000 We know that that's the truth.

00:42:47.000 That is going to be a very telling point with regard to Nancy Pelosi.

00:42:51.000 Again, on the other side of the aisle, the system has changed a little bit with regard to Donald Trump.

00:42:56.000 I think that what Democrats are thinking with this election is, we get rid of Biden and everybody will come back to us.

00:43:01.000 We get rid of Biden and now we are not going to really need to run anything.

00:43:05.000 We'll just shout Trump from the rooftops and that will have the desired effect.

00:43:09.000 I don't think that that's true for a couple of reasons.

00:43:12.000 Reason number one is that Donald Trump is actually now presenting an incredibly moderate face in the middle of this race.

00:43:17.000 And number two, the permission structure for normies, for normal people to say they are voting for Donald Trump, has already been created, and you can't undo that.

00:43:24.000 So again, the going theory, as I've said many, many times, of this campaign, whoever this campaign is a referendum on is going to lose.

00:43:31.000 So, for a while it was Biden, and now the Democratic theory is we get rid of Biden and it'll go back to being Trump.

00:43:36.000 It's not quite that simple, and it's not quite that simple for two specific reasons.

00:43:40.000 Donald Trump is now acting like a moderate.

00:43:42.000 He's acting like a pretty sane moderate, actually.

00:43:45.000 Yeah, he's got his foibles.

00:43:46.000 Yeah, he says some crazy stuff.

00:43:47.000 But in general, his campaign is acting very, very sane and very moderate right now.

00:43:52.000 And two, a permission structure, thanks to the last several months, has been set up where normies can now say a thing they never said out loud in 2016 or in 2020.

00:44:00.000 I'm voting for Donald Trump.

00:44:02.000 I think Donald Trump is interesting.

00:44:03.000 And you're seeing this particularly in tech land.

00:44:05.000 You already saw Elon Musk come out and say that he is going to drop $45 million a month into the Trump campaign.

00:44:11.000 Over the weekend, Mark Zuckerberg, who's the head of Meta, and who certainly is not known for being particularly Trump-friendly, he was doing an interview and he talked about how Trump's response to his shooting was, in his words, badass.

00:44:23.000 Here is Mark Zuckerberg.

00:44:25.000 I've done some stuff personally in the past.

00:44:27.000 I'm not planning on doing that this time.

00:44:28.000 Um, and that includes, you know, not endorsing either of the candidates.

00:44:34.000 Um, now look, I mean, there's obviously a lot of crazy stuff going on in the world.

00:44:36.000 I mean, the historic events over the last, like, over the weekend.

00:44:39.000 And, I mean, on a personal note, it's, you know, I mean, seeing Donald Trump get, get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is, One of the most badass things I've ever seen in my life.

00:44:56.000 But, um, but look, I mean, it's, um, you know, as... And I think, look, at some level, as an American, it's, like, hard to not get kind of emotional about that spirit, um, and that fight, and I think that that's why a lot of people like the guy.

00:45:11.000 Okay, that is something that Mark Zuckerberg never would have said publicly before.

00:45:15.000 It's something that tech bros wouldn't say publicly before.

00:45:17.000 A permission structure has been created over the past several months in which normal Americans are now allowed to say they like Trump.

00:45:23.000 They'll wear the red hat.

00:45:24.000 They'll say they're voting for Trump.

00:45:26.000 So that is a big difference between 2016 and 2020 and 2024.

00:45:29.000 And again, in 2024, Donald Trump is running a much more meticulous, much more likable to sort of the general voter campaign.

00:45:36.000 So he did a rally.

00:45:38.000 Over the weekend.

00:45:39.000 And, honestly, many of the things he said in this rally are incredibly moderate.

00:45:42.000 So, first of all, he was actually self-effacing, which is something you normally don't see from President Trump.

00:45:46.000 He actually mocked his own hair.

00:45:47.000 Here he was over the weekend.

00:45:49.000 You know, I have to just interject.

00:45:52.000 If you would turn off those cameras, because I don't want this.

00:45:54.000 See the screen up there of me?

00:45:56.000 That's very severe, that comb-over. 0.99

00:45:58.000 That's a severe sucker. 0.96

00:46:01.000 What's with that one? 0.98

00:46:04.000 It looks okay from the other side.

00:46:08.000 But that is very severe.

00:46:09.000 I apologize.

00:46:12.000 Man.

00:46:13.000 I looked up there.

00:46:14.000 I said, whoa.

00:46:17.000 Look at that.

00:46:18.000 Wow.

00:46:20.000 That's like a work of art.

00:46:23.000 I think self-effacing Trump is a new one and much more likable.

00:46:26.000 Hey, Trump also was asked about Project 2025.

00:46:28.000 He was actually on the campaign trail talking about Project 2025.

00:46:32.000 Remember that Kamala Harris's first comment upon getting the Veep call, the Selina Meyer call, that she was going to be the new candidate, she started yelling about Project 2025.

00:46:41.000 And this has become the Democrats' bugaboo as I testified before Congress.

00:46:44.000 Eric Swalwell asked me about Project 2025 and I kept saying, you know, Project 2025 for Democrats like Peter Pan and Tinkerbell,

00:46:50.000 but you just say it over and over and over and magically your candidate is alive again

00:46:53.000 Well, Kamala Harris is also trying to do project 2025 Well Trump took it head-on in the middle of one of his of

00:46:59.000 his rallies over the weekend here. He was on project 2025 some on the right

00:47:04.000 severe right came up with this project 25 and And I don't even know — I mean, some of them, I know who they are.

00:47:12.000 But they're very, very conservative, just like you have — they're sort of the opposite of the radical left, okay?

00:47:18.000 You have the radical left and you have the radical right.

00:47:21.000 And they come up with this — I don't know what the hell it is.

00:47:23.000 It's Project 25.

00:47:25.000 He's involved in Project — and then they read some of the things, and they are extreme.

00:47:30.000 I mean, they're seriously extreme.

00:47:32.000 But I don't know anything about it.

00:47:34.000 I don't want to know anything about it.

00:47:36.000 Okay, so again, actually, that's pretty unfair to much of what's in Project 2025, which again,

00:47:41.000 I've read, I'm maybe one of the only people alive who's actually read large chunks of

00:47:44.000 it.

00:47:45.000 But President Trump is obviously attempting to grab that middle, that sort of middle mode,

00:47:50.000 right?

00:47:51.000 He's attempting to grab the middle of the political spectrum.

00:47:54.000 He was doing it all over the place this weekend.

00:47:57.000 So he was talking about how the media had been accused by people, including me, by the way, of miscovering the shooting originally.

00:48:04.000 That very early on, they were saying things like, Donald Trump ducks after loud noises in crowd.

00:48:09.000 And I was like, really?

00:48:10.000 Come on.

00:48:10.000 If that were Joe Biden, would they say the same thing?

00:48:12.000 Trump ends up defending the press.

00:48:13.000 That's how moderate Trump is trying to be now.

00:48:17.000 I want to thank Butler Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania for the incredible job they did.

00:48:24.000 Service they gave.

00:48:27.000 And all of the great citizens of Butler, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area and everyone else for the job they did and the love that they showed us all.

00:48:38.000 It was incredible, actually.

00:48:39.000 What a time that was.

00:48:42.000 What a time that was.

00:48:44.000 Nobody's seen anything like it.

00:48:46.000 And hopefully they never will again.

00:48:48.000 And they had cameras blazing.

00:48:50.000 I guess it was different in that way, too, because we were right in the middle.

00:48:53.000 All those — see, look at all the news back there.

00:48:56.000 And they were all blazing.

00:48:57.000 They were — they were going.

00:48:59.000 No, no.

00:49:02.000 No, they covered it fairly.

00:49:03.000 They couldn't believe what they were saying either, so.

00:49:06.000 Again, it's the first time he's ever said anything nice about the press right there.

00:49:09.000 And then, over the weekend, Donald Trump took a call from Vladimir Zelensky, right, who is the president of Ukraine, and Zelensky, you know, talked to him about the assassination attempt, and Trump then released a statement talking about their very good phone call.

00:49:21.000 Quote, I appreciate President Zelensky for reaching out because I, as your next president of the United States, will bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives and devastated countless innocent families.

00:49:29.000 Like, that sounds pretty moderate.

00:49:31.000 So again, Donald Trump right now has control of the moderate lane in the election.

00:49:36.000 The Democratic Party, even if they come up with Kamala Harris, even if they unify around her, It looks like chaos over there.

00:49:42.000 This means that Donald Trump does have the upper hand.

00:49:44.000 It does also mean the race has changed.

00:49:46.000 And there's no other way to see it other than that the race has radically, radically changed. 0.69
