00:01:29.000 In Canada, things are happening that are worth covering, which is a rarity.
00:01:32.000 We don't cover Canadian politics all that extensively here on the Ben Shapiro Show because, hey, I mean, it's Canada.
00:01:38.000 However, the trucker protests that have now spawned like-minded protests all over the world are a major, major news story, and they should be a major news story.
00:01:46.000 You have literally thousands of truckers who are descending on Ottawa, which is the capital, and they are also now blocking the Ambassador Bridge in Toronto.
00:01:54.000 Which is the single biggest bridge connecting the United States and Canada in terms of trade, according to the Washington Post.
00:02:01.000 The busiest crossing on the US-Canada land border was blockaded Tuesday as demonstrations against vaccine mandates that have paralyzed Canada's capital spread to a crucial trade artery while inspiring similar protests from Europe to Australia.
00:02:12.000 The Ambassador Bridge, which links Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, was temporarily closed for passengers and commercial traffic, authorities on both sides of the border said on Tuesday.
00:02:20.000 The Windsor Police said limited traffic was being allowed into the United States.
00:02:23.000 The 1.6-mile suspension bridge is an important trade link, particularly for the region's auto industry.
00:02:28.000 It also connects families, friends, and essential workers, including Canadian nurses who work in Detroit-area hospitals.
00:02:33.000 The blockade there apparently began on Monday.
00:02:35.000 It was unclear when it might end.
00:02:38.000 Local law enforcement said there were between 150 and 200 vehicles and roughly 200 people involved.
00:02:42.000 The U.S.
00:02:43.000 Transportation Department estimates the bridge carries about 30% of all annual trade between Canada and the United States.
00:02:49.000 This is all part of the so-called Freedom Convoy, which has jammed major thoroughfares in downtown Ottawa with idling big rigs and other vehicles.
00:02:56.000 He told them that they need to go home.
00:02:58.000 Justin Trudeau, who definitely, definitely, definitely is not Fidel Castro's son.
00:03:02.000 I'm just going to put that out there.
00:03:03.000 I know there have been some rumors out there that Justin Trudeau is Fidel Castro's son because he looks exactly like Fidel Castro because his mom was known to be a swinger and because his mom was visiting Cuba, apparently about eight and a half months before Justin Trudeau was born.
00:03:15.000 That said, he's definitely not Fidel Castro's son, either ideologically or biologically.
00:03:20.000 So I'm just going to put he is not.
00:03:21.000 Stop that right now.
00:03:22.000 Don't you dare call him Justin Lito.
00:03:25.000 Don't do it.
00:03:26.000 Don't do it.
00:03:27.000 In any case, here is Justin Trudeau, handsome Bernie Sanders, explaining that we need mandates.
00:03:32.000 Because if we don't have mandates, then how are we going to avoid further restrictions?
00:03:35.000 You see, we have to curb liberty so that we can have liberty.
00:03:40.000 Now, this has been the case the Democrats have been making all throughout the pandemic.
00:03:42.000 And you know what caused them to lift the mandates in the United States, as we'll get to?
00:03:46.000 What caused them to lift the mandates was not the changing science.
00:03:49.000 What caused them to lift the mandates was not following the data.
00:03:51.000 What caused them to lift the mandates is that the American people finally said no.
00:03:54.000 And you're starting to see the same thing in Canada.
00:03:56.000 So good for the truckers.
00:03:57.000 Here's Justin Trudeau trying to talk his way through this one.
00:04:00.000 We've seen...
00:04:01.000 We've seen the curves lower in Canada than elsewhere.
00:04:04.000 We've seen lower death rates.
00:04:05.000 We've seen quicker economic recovery because Canadians stepped up, because Canadians got vaccinated.
00:04:12.000 And I can understand frustrations with mandates, but mandates are the way to avoid further restrictions or having to be restricted.
00:04:20.000 As people get vaccinated, as Canadians have gotten vaccinated, we've been able to get through things.
00:04:26.000 I'm sorry, he's so irritating.
00:04:28.000 And by the way, I'm not the only one who finds him irritating.
00:04:29.000 The Canadian public finds him extraordinarily irritating.
00:04:32.000 In fact, Trudeau's own party is starting to turn on him over COVID restrictions.
00:04:36.000 According to Politico, a backbench lawmaker from Justin Trudeau's own caucus is accusing the Prime Minister of dividing and stigmatizing Canadians by politicizing vaccine mandates and COVID-19 restrictions.
00:04:46.000 Joelle Lightbound delivered a stunning scathing assessment Tuesday in Ottawa with the big rigs of the so-called Freedom Convoy just outside the door.
00:04:52.000 The convoy protests against COVID measures have grabbed global attention and paralyzed Canada's capital city for more than a week.
00:04:58.000 Lightbound said both the tone and policies of my government changed drastically on the eve and during the last election campaign.
00:05:04.000 A decision was made to wedge, to divide, and to stigmatize.
00:05:06.000 I fear that this politicization of the pandemic risks undermining the public's trust in our public health institutions.
00:05:12.000 This is exactly right, of course.
00:05:14.000 Lightbound insisted he's not the only member of Justin Trudeau's team who feels, to varying degrees, as he does today.
00:05:20.000 He said he raised his concerns clearly with fellow liberal MPs and with Trudeau.
00:05:25.000 Trudeau, for his part, he keeps saying that individuals... It's amazing.
00:05:28.000 He says things like, individuals are trying to blockade our economy.
00:05:31.000 Individuals are trying to shut down our economy.
00:05:32.000 They're trying to shut down our way of life.
00:05:34.000 Dude, that's you.
00:05:35.000 Buy a mirror.
00:05:36.000 Well, actually, I'm sure Justin Trudeau has mirrors pretty much everywhere in his house.
00:05:39.000 He probably welded them to the walls himself.
00:05:42.000 Well, actually, probably he didn't weld them.
00:05:44.000 He probably paid a peasant to weld.
00:05:44.000 He doesn't seem like a welder.
00:05:46.000 Well, actually, he probably didn't pay the peasant.
00:05:47.000 He probably used Canadian taxpayer dollars to pay a peasant to weld.
00:05:51.000 He probably just mandated that a peasant should weld mirrors on his house.
00:05:51.000 Actually, that's probably not true.
00:05:54.000 Anyway, here is Justin Trudeau explaining that he's shutting down freedom to protect your freedom.
00:06:00.000 There's a lot of burning the village in order to save the village rhetoric that's come out of the COVID restrictionists.
00:06:05.000 Individuals are trying to blockade our economy, our democracy, and our fellow citizens' daily lives.
00:06:20.000 It has to stop.
00:06:21.000 It has to stop.
00:06:22.000 Well, I mean, the same thing could be said of the mandates that you have placed on your country over the course of the last couple of years.
00:06:28.000 In just a second, we will get to a Wall Street Journal editorial talking about the message of the Canadian trucking protest.
00:06:33.000 First, speaking of driving, have you filled up your gas tank lately?
00:06:38.000 So I did.
00:06:38.000 I went to the gas station just the other day because we were Out of gas and I started filling up and then I started looking at the price and I, my, my eyes actually fell out of my head physically.
00:06:48.000 I had to pop them back into my eye sockets and then I realized at least I can take a little bit off the top because I have the free get upside app in the app store or Google play and you can get the same.
00:06:57.000 Just head on over to the app store or Google play right now and download that free get upside app.
00:07:01.000 You can use a promo code Shapiro for 25 cents per gallon or more on your first fill up cash back.
00:07:06.000 Don't pay full price of the pump anymore.
00:07:08.000 Get cashback using GetUpside.
00:07:10.000 Again, it is super easy.
00:07:10.000 You just download that app for free and use promo code Shapiro for 25 cents per gallon or more on your very first tank of gas.
00:07:17.000 Some people drive a lot.
00:07:18.000 They're making as much as 200 or 300 bucks a year in cashback.
00:07:20.000 There's no catch.
00:07:21.000 The cashback gets added directly to your account.
00:07:23.000 You can cash out anytime to your bank account, PayPal, or an e-gift card for Amazon and other brands.
00:07:29.000 You're going to get sticker shock next time you go to the gas station, but at the very least, know that you're saving some money with that free GetUpside app again.
00:07:37.000 Use promo code SHAPIRO to get 25 cents per gallon or more cash back on your very first tank of gas.
00:07:41.000 The Wall Street Journal has a piece today talking about the message of the Canadian trucker protest by the editorial board.
00:07:47.000 Here's what they say.
00:07:48.000 This latest act in a week-long show of civil disobedience is more akin to political life in France or the United States.
00:07:53.000 That it happened in restrained Canada is a signal to the political class across the West Large swaths of humanity are done with COVID-19 restrictions, mandates, and excessive meddling in their lives.
00:08:02.000 They want to go back to making their own health risk assessments.
00:08:05.000 The Ambassador Bridge, which carries some $323 million in goods daily in cross-border trade, and an estimated $137 billion last year, reopened on Tuesday morning.
00:08:14.000 But truckers continue their protest in Ottawa, which is disturbing the peace and wars in that usually peaceable Canadian capital.
00:08:20.000 The truckers should be prosecuted if they break the law, says the Wall Street Journal, but As the Omicron virus shows itself to be less lethal and positive test rates fall, the truckers are sending a message to Democratic governments.
00:08:30.000 It's time for the pandemic emergency orders to end.
00:08:32.000 And of course, this is true.
00:08:33.000 Nobody wants giant bridges shut down.
00:08:35.000 I mean, obstructing traffic is bad no matter what you are protesting for.
00:08:38.000 However, the cause of this protest happens to be righteous.
00:08:41.000 For two years, says the Wall Street Journal, the truckers were classified as essential workers and therefore exempt from vaccine mandates.
00:08:46.000 About 85% of them are vaccinated.
00:08:48.000 But Justin Trudeau, who heads a minority government, has chosen this moment to order that truckers be vaccinated if they want to cross back into the country from the United States.
00:08:57.000 The Canadian left is calling all of these people Trumpians.
00:08:59.000 Trudeau smeared them as, quote, a few people shouting and waving swastikas.
00:09:02.000 But of course, that's not what this is at all.
00:09:04.000 And just as part of the general left-wing attempt to paint anyone who disagrees with them as a racist or a Nazi, they have this bag of insults that they go to every time somebody disagrees with them, God forbid.
00:09:15.000 And then they just throw that, here comes the swastika, boom!
00:09:18.000 Just hit them with the swastika.
00:09:19.000 Just say that they're a Nazi.
00:09:21.000 And what is the evidence that the thousands and thousands of people in Ottawa protesting so they can maintain their jobs that those people are Nazis?
00:09:28.000 He doesn't have any evidence.
00:09:30.000 Instead, what the media have been doing in Canada and elsewhere is they have been finding they've been nut picking is what it's called.
00:09:35.000 They find a few fringe members of the protest, and then they say these people represent the entire protest as opposed to the core ideology.
00:09:42.000 And the media, by the way, will do precisely the opposite when it comes to Black Lives Matter.
00:09:46.000 So Black Lives Matter, the cause was not righteous.
00:09:48.000 The cause of Black Lives Matter was predicated on a basic lie, which is that law enforcement across the United States are systemically racist and targeting black people, which is the only reason a disproportionate number of black people end up in prison for violent crime, for example.
00:09:59.000 It was predicated on a lie.
00:10:01.000 And then, a disproportionate number of those protests broke into actual violence.
00:10:05.000 So what the left said is, you're not picking.
00:10:06.000 Stop not picking.
00:10:07.000 The people who are burning down stores are not the mainstream of the protests.
00:10:10.000 You have to separate the protesters from the rioters.
00:10:12.000 Okay, fine.
00:10:12.000 Fair enough.
00:10:13.000 But you never do this with people on the right.
00:10:15.000 Ever, ever, ever, ever.
00:10:17.000 You find the craziest person on the right, and then you link them to the entire protest movement.
00:10:20.000 And that's exactly what they've done with the Canadian truckers.
00:10:24.000 And again, this is a global thing.
00:10:25.000 This is not just in Canada.
00:10:27.000 It turns out that human beings do not like having their liberties restricted in this way in the West.
00:10:31.000 They're used to it in China because China is an authoritarian tyranny.
00:10:34.000 They may be used to it in Russia.
00:10:37.000 They may be used to it in actual tyrannical states, but they're really not used to it in the West and they don't like it.
00:10:43.000 Says the Wall Street Journal, a majority of Canadians don't support the Ottawa protests, according to polls.
00:10:47.000 But a recent survey by the Angus Reid Institute found a majority favors lifting restrictions, suggesting the Trudeau mandate, which went into effect on January 15th, was a political miscalculation.
00:10:56.000 By energizing a significant part of the electorate, until now less present in public discourse, he set off a backlash, deepened Canadian polarization and raised the stakes in a showdown with the truckers.
00:11:05.000 The global left is beginning to feel it because they've spent the last two years insisting they're on the side of the science and they're not on the side of the science.
00:11:11.000 It turns out that the best thing that they could have done would have been to shield the vulnerable, as they did in Sweden, and then to allow people to live their lives.
00:11:19.000 Instead, they decided to restrict everyone.
00:11:21.000 And, again, the pitch is that freedom itself is bad.
00:11:25.000 We have to crack down on people using the word freedom.
00:11:28.000 There's a much-trafficked op-ed from a national affairs columnist for the Globe and Mail in Canada called Gary Mason.
00:11:35.000 And the name of the column was, How Truck Convoy Protesters Like Pierre Poivre Have Weaponized Freedom.
00:11:41.000 Weaponized freedom!
00:11:42.000 How dare you use the words freedom to mean freedom?
00:11:46.000 Weaponizing freedom.
00:11:48.000 By the way, it's always the case that for the left, whenever the right does something bad, whenever the left does something bad, according to the left, this means that the right is pouncing.
00:11:56.000 That's the real story.
00:11:56.000 We're weaponizing freedom here on the right.
00:11:59.000 I mean, I would hope that we weaponize freedom.
00:12:00.000 It seems like a good thing to weaponize, frankly.
00:12:02.000 And this columnist says, if you watched any of federal conservative MP Pierre Polivre's video announcing his candidacy for the leadership of his party, you might have discerned a theme.
00:12:11.000 Freedom.
00:12:12.000 Variations of the word were used nine times in his three-minute performance.
00:12:15.000 If he is elected leader and is ultimately successful in becoming prime minister, Mr. Polivre promised, among other things, to make Canadians the freest people on earth.
00:12:22.000 With freedom to make your own health and vaccine choices, freedom to speak without fear.
00:12:26.000 Freedom over fear, he recently tweeted.
00:12:28.000 This is not by accident, of course.
00:12:30.000 Freedom is a word that gets bandied about a lot these days, but has mostly been co-opted by the alt-right, both here and in the United States.
00:12:36.000 See, if you say freedom, what they hear is Nazi.
00:12:39.000 This is how perverse the wild left, the COVID restrictionist left has become.
00:12:45.000 This columnist says freedom as an ideology has been appropriated by the Make America Great Again wing of the U.S.
00:12:50.000 Republican Party.
00:12:51.000 There's a strong MAGA fan base in this country, apparently with prominent supporters, such as Candace Bergen, the new interim leader of the Federal Conservative Party of Canada.
00:12:58.000 Undated photos circulating on social media appear to show Ms.
00:13:01.000 Bergen sporting a camouflaged MAGA hat.
00:13:03.000 Wow.
00:13:04.000 Oh no.
00:13:05.000 Wow.
00:13:05.000 Man.
00:13:07.000 Trump hats?
00:13:08.000 This is weaponizing freedom, guys.
00:13:11.000 Freedom, of course, says this columnist, has not always been a concept usurped for selfish, malicious purposes.
00:13:15.000 It's been a rallying cry behind great triumphs, such as the end of slavery and the civil rights movement.
00:13:19.000 But others have believed freedom is about protecting property rights, even if that has to occur at the diminishment of democracy.
00:13:26.000 Freedom has nothing to do with property rights, according to these folks.
00:13:29.000 True freedom is seizing other people's property, of course.
00:13:32.000 More recently, political leaders and others, with an unprecedented megaphone in the form of the internet and social media, have used the call for freedom to promote bigoted, racist, anti-democratic ideals.
00:13:42.000 Again, freedom is bad.
00:13:43.000 Freedom is bad because they might say something that this guy doesn't like.
00:13:46.000 As Elizabeth Anker, a professor of American Studies at George Washington University and author of Ugly Freedoms recently wrote in the New York Times, Today, more and more, laws, caucuses, rallies, and hard-right movements use the language of freedom as a cudgel to erode democratic governance and civil rights.
00:14:00.000 These laws expand the creep of authoritarianism.
00:14:04.000 Yes, nothing says authoritarianism quite like leave people alone so they can make their own choices about vaccinations and masking.
00:14:12.000 Alrighty, coming up, a bunch of folks are now saying that it's time for not Fidel Castro's son, definitely not Fidel Castro's son, Justin Trudeau, to get out of politics.
00:14:22.000 Yes, he's very, very bad at this.
00:14:24.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.
00:14:25.000 First, my kids wake me up super early, like every morning.
00:14:28.000 My son, he wakes me up in the morning.
00:14:30.000 It's really cute, actually.
00:14:31.000 He comes in, he wakes me up, it's like 5.45 in the morning.
00:14:33.000 He told me this morning that he wakes me up because he wants to spend time before I go to work.
00:14:37.000 What does that actually mean in practical terms?
00:14:38.000 It means that I better be sleeping when I'm on my bed at night.
00:14:42.000 And here's the thing, if you have bad sheets on your bed, you're not going to get the sleep quality you need.
00:14:46.000 This is why you need Bull & Branch.
00:14:48.000 Bull & Branch makes the softest organic sheets on the market.
00:14:50.000 They get better with every wash.
00:14:51.000 Comfort is not their only standard.
00:14:53.000 They use only 100% sustainable Raw materials.

00:15:10.000 Have you ever been sleeping on a mattress, and you got the fitted sheets, and they're not big enough, and they pop up, and suddenly your face is directly on the mattress, which is super gross?
00:15:16.000 Well, not with Bull & Branch, because those signature hemmed sheets from Bull & Branch, they're a bestseller for a reason.

00:15:45.000 All of this is ridiculous.
00:15:46.000 It's ridiculous, but because it's ridiculous, they're having a tough time getting out of it.
00:15:51.000 Because to admit they were wrong is kind of a problem for them.
00:15:55.000 Again, Canadian parliamentarians have had it with Trudeau.
00:15:57.000 Trudeau is not popular in Canada.
00:15:59.000 They had an election recently.
00:16:00.000 It sort of re-enshrined the status quo.
00:16:02.000 But nobody actually likes Trudeau.
00:16:04.000 There's polling out saying that a majority of Canadians think that Trudeau should resign following the election.
00:16:10.000 This was in September.
00:16:12.000 According to the National Post, a vast majority of Canadians believed the country was more divided than ever following that federal election.
00:16:19.000 More than half said Justin Trudeau should step down after a cynical and opportunistic campaign.
00:16:23.000 In a survey by Meru Public Opinion, 77% of respondents said Canada feels more fractured than ever following a summer campaign that produced roughly the same seat count as the last parliamentary session.
00:16:32.000 Just 23% of respondents said the country is now more unified under Trudeau.
00:16:37.000 A slim majority of respondents, 52%, said that Canada's democratic system is entirely broken and needs a major overhaul.
00:16:45.000 So Canadians sound a lot like Americans at this point.
00:16:47.000 This is what happens when the left pushes too far, too fast.
00:16:50.000 One parliamentarian came out against Trudeau yesterday and said, why is it impossible for you to just articulate an off-ramp?
00:16:56.000 This parliamentarian, Raquel Dancho, How is it that other highly advanced, developed nations like the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, how is it that they have all the same tools we have, they have all the economic resources we have, their citizens have done all the work and made all the sacrifices.
00:17:20.000 Why is it that those citizens get a plan for hope of when we get back to normal, when we get our lives back, when the people outside, you think they want to be here, Mr. Speaker?
00:17:29.000 Those people don't want to be here.
00:17:30.000 They want to be working.
00:17:31.000 But that right was taken away from them.
00:17:33.000 She, of course, is exactly correct.
00:17:35.000 And Justin Trudeau is about to feel the wrath of the Canadian people, which is inherently hilarious.
00:17:40.000 The wrath of Canadians sounds like a really bad horror movie.
00:17:42.000 In any case, the Ottawa police chief, here's the thing.
00:17:44.000 This has been combined with a fascistic crackdown on freedom of speech in Canada.
00:17:49.000 This has been a serious problem in Canada, in Australia, people outlawing protests that they just don't like.
00:17:53.000 Here's Ottawa's police chief saying, well, you know, we can identify and target protesters, not rioters, protesters.
00:18:00.000 We have increased ability to identify and target protesters and supporters of protesters who are funding and enabling unlawful and harmful activity by the protesters themselves.
00:18:16.000 Investigative evidence gathering teams are collecting financial, digital, Vehicle registration, driver identification, insurance status, and other related evidence that will be used in prosecutions.
00:18:31.000 By the way, can you imagine if the US police had said this during the BLM riots?
00:18:35.000 Like, even during the riots, not just during the protests.
00:18:37.000 But imagine they had said during the protests what this guy is saying.
00:18:40.000 We can track all of the financial information of anyone who gave to a BLM organization, and we intend on finding people who support and enable bad activity.
00:18:47.000 Can you imagine the outcry?
00:18:49.000 The justified outcry?
00:18:50.000 Because that's not how freedom of speech is supposed to work.
00:18:52.000 Meanwhile, in the United States, Jen Psaki is busily dismissing the Canadian trucker protests, pretending that they don't matter, even though they're now shutting off a main trade artery to the United States.
00:19:01.000 I know there's been some suggestion, not by reporters necessarily at all, but that this congestion is related to the vaccine requirements.
00:19:09.000 It's not.
00:19:10.000 I mean, I'm saying I'm going to get to the protests, but the protests going on across Canada, which have spread to a bridge, are leading to sporadic congestion and blockages.
00:19:19.000 While we do see some of these congestion due to protests, it's just clear that these disruptions have broadened in scope beyond the vaccine requirement implementation.
00:19:27.000 Mm-hmm.
00:19:28.000 Mm-hmm.
00:19:29.000 Again, just dismissing it or broadening out to be a bunch of Nazis.
00:19:32.000 This is a typical tactic.
00:19:33.000 Now, in reality, these politicians are being mugged by reality, which is why Alberta announced that it would be ending its vaccine passport program midnight on Tuesday, according to the Edmonton Journal.
00:19:44.000 Albertans are waking up when states what could be the beginning of the end of COVID restrictions in this province, despite warnings the government may be moving too quickly.
00:19:51.000 Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced Tuesday the province's COVID-19 vaccine passport program will end immediately.
00:19:56.000 At an evening news conference, Kenney said the restriction exemption program has served its purpose, but it's no longer needed because Alberta passed the peak of Omicron infections about three weeks ago.
00:20:04.000 Okay, so do you think he is doing this because of the data?
00:20:06.000 Or do you think he's doing this because of the protests?
00:20:08.000 It turns out public protest does mobilize politicians.
00:20:11.000 Politicians are not motivated by data.
00:20:13.000 They're not motivated by quote unquote, doing the right thing.
00:20:15.000 They're motivated by political incentive structures.
00:20:17.000 This has always been true.
00:20:19.000 Kenny said, none of this has anything to do with a few trucks parked at the Coutts border crossing.
00:20:24.000 He said, I think a bit of a bit of a mugs game to say, keep this going for a few days when we know that many areas are already having compliance problems.
00:20:31.000 Oh, okay, so it has nothing to do with the protests, according to these folks.
00:20:34.000 Sure, sure.
00:20:35.000 Meanwhile, CNN is very upset about the trucker convoy that's been blocking the US-Canada bridge.
00:20:40.000 Again, they had no problems whatsoever with mass widespread rioting in the United States across 2020.
00:20:45.000 But when a bridge is blocked, then we've really, you know, now we've reached the end of democracy here.
00:20:51.000 The question is, how is it going to stop?
00:20:53.000 Justin Trudeau does not seem like he is going to be getting out here to negotiate or mediate anything at this point.
00:20:59.000 They are saying that, look, this is a fringe minority.
00:21:01.000 And yet people here say that is not the case, that there is a significant minority.
00:21:05.000 Kate, I will tell you, this isn't something the Biden administration can ignore, especially given those bridge crossings.
00:21:12.000 There could be impacts of supply chain between the United States and Canada.
00:21:15.000 Okay, so here is the reality.
00:21:17.000 All across the world, left-wing politicians are learning the hard way that their populations are not willing to do this crap indefinitely.
00:21:23.000 And so they are shifting.
00:21:25.000 Now, they're going to pretend that they're shifting because they're, quote-unquote, doing the right thing.
00:21:27.000 Because the data have changed.
00:21:29.000 Because, you know, the underlying conditions have changed.
00:21:31.000 And this now allows them to free up.
00:21:32.000 They were right in the first place, and they're right now.
00:21:34.000 Wrong.
00:21:35.000 That's a lie.
00:21:36.000 The simple fact is precisely the opposite.
00:21:38.000 They are changing because the people have finally decided they have had enough and they are feeling the writing on the wall.
00:21:43.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:21:44.000 First, you know, your most expensive asset, the thing that matters most to you in terms of your portfolio is almost undoubtedly your home.
00:21:51.000 Right.
00:21:51.000 And no one's going to come and just steal your home because that would be really, really tough because it's kind of bolted to the ground and everything.
00:21:57.000 But what they could do is steal the value inherent in your home with home title fraud.
00:22:01.000 And here's the thing, your homeowner's insurance doesn't cover it.
00:22:03.000 The FBI calls home title fraud one of the fastest growing crimes.
00:22:06.000 That is why you need to go to HomeTitleLock.com, America's leader in home title protection.
00:22:11.000 Here is the problem.
00:22:12.000 The deed to your home is the only document that proves you own it.
00:22:15.000 The deeds to all our homes are online right now, in minutes.
00:22:17.000 A criminal can find and forge your name off the deed to your home and refile as the new owner.
00:22:22.000 Like Jeff, who spent a fortune in legal fees after a thief forged himself onto the deed to Jeff's home and then started taking out loans.
00:22:28.000 Jeff did not have home title lock then.
00:22:29.000 He definitely does now.
00:22:31.000 Debra thought her common identity theft service would protect her after a criminal got onto the deed to her home and actually had her evicted from her own home.
00:22:37.000 Debra now has home title lock.
00:22:39.000 HomeTitleLock.com is your peace of mind that the deed to your home is protected.
00:22:43.000 Head on over to HomeTitleLock.com and protect your most valuable asset today.
00:22:47.000 That's HomeTitleLock.com.
00:22:50.000 Right now in the United States, COVID deaths are at the highest in a year as Omicron targets the unvaccinated and the elderly, according to the Washington Post.
00:22:58.000 And so we are now at the highest death rate in the United States in a year.
00:23:02.000 And yet politicians all across the left have decided now is the time to loosen the restrictions.
00:23:07.000 Weird.
00:23:08.000 Now they say that that's because the data have changed.
00:23:11.000 But that makes no sense.
00:23:12.000 So when you had 60 deaths today in California, you had Ted Lieu of California saying, no, no, we need mask restrictions.
00:23:17.000 We need to lock this thing down.
00:23:18.000 Now you have like almost 200 deaths today in California.
00:23:21.000 He's saying, you know what?
00:23:21.000 Now's a great time to open up.
00:23:23.000 Does that sound like he's following the data?
00:23:25.000 Or does it sound like he is following the public polling?
00:23:29.000 Again, the internal polls for the Democrats must be just devastating.
00:23:31.000 And for the left across the world.
00:23:33.000 Whatever right wing populist movement was in its infancy in 2016 is about to be just completely multiplied exponentially by what the left has done during COVID.
00:23:45.000 Because it turns out that when an elite cadre of people tell you that they can save grandma and that number one, they can't save grandma, but they can destroy your job and destroy your life and destroy your children's lives.
00:23:53.000 When the elite tell you when they promise you the world and they deliver a pile of flaming dog crap, people get mad.
00:24:00.000 And the left is about to feel the wrath.
00:24:02.000 Again, in the United States, according to the Washington Post, though considered milder than other coronavirus variants, Omicron has infected so many people and has driven the number of daily deaths beyond where it was last spring, before vaccines were widely available, according to Washington Post data.
00:24:15.000 Omicron has been particularly lethal to people over 75, the unvaxxed, and the medically vulnerable, according to doctors and public health officials.
00:24:22.000 The soaring death toll also illustrates why experts pled with the public to beware of the highly contagious variant, even though it is less virulent than others.
00:24:29.000 Jennifer Nuzzo, epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins, says this feels quite jarring to people, who may have assumed Omicron is generally, on a per-case level, less severe, and given the fact we have been vaccinated, at least some portion of the country.
00:24:40.000 Even if, on a per case basis, fewer people develop severe illness and die, when you apply a small percentage to a very large number, you get a substantial number.
00:24:47.000 That, of course, is true.
00:24:49.000 But none of that changes the underlying logic here.
00:24:51.000 Either you're vaxxed, or you're unvaxxed.
00:24:52.000 If you are vaxxed, you are very unlikely to die from Omicron, just as you are very unlikely to die from Delta.
00:24:57.000 If you have natural immunity, you're very unlikely to die from Omicron, just as you are very unlikely to die from Delta.
00:25:02.000 If you are a person who has severe underlying health conditions, or you are elderly, There's a much better shot that you're going to die from Omicron, just as you are much more likely to die from Delta.
00:25:12.000 So even if Omicron is less severe, which it is, just because it's less severe on an individual basis doesn't mean that if a bajillion people get it, you're not going to have a large absolute number of people who end up dying from it, which is what's happening right now.
00:25:24.000 But none of the actual underlying logic has changed.
00:25:26.000 The left is just pretending that the logic has changed because the people have had it.
00:25:31.000 They've had it.
00:25:32.000 According to CNN, governors are now telling President Joe Biden the country needs to, quote unquote, move away from the pandemic.
00:25:38.000 That's what Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, a Republican, said at the White House on Monday.
00:25:42.000 He said, there's a number of areas we have agreement on, and that is one, we need to move away from the pandemic.
00:25:46.000 We asked the president to help give us clear guidelines on how we can return to a greater state of normality.
00:25:52.000 And it's not just Asa Hutchinson.
00:25:54.000 It's a bunch of Democratic governors who are beginning to say the same thing.
00:25:57.000 You can see it happening across the country.
00:26:01.000 And so the White House, belatedly, because they're very bad at reading tea leaves, the White House is belatedly moving in the right direction.
00:26:07.000 The White House is beginning to realize that they have to start leaving people alone.
00:26:11.000 They're going to have to tell their own base that their own base needs to stop panicking, like, right now.
00:26:16.000 According to Politico, blue state governors and state health officials who most vigorously embrace pandemic restrictions are now pivoting toward a new era, using Omicron's decline to dial back precautions that have become a hallmark of the last two years.
00:26:28.000 Health departments from Oregon to Maine have, over the last few weeks, ended almost all of their government-run COVID-19 contact tracing operations and shifted the responsibility to the public.
00:26:36.000 Now, again, have the underlying data changed?
00:26:38.000 They have not.
00:26:39.000 The COVID tracing program has been a giant fail since day one because it wasn't in place early enough.
00:26:44.000 The only way that... I've been saying this for two years!
00:26:47.000 The only way that contact tracing works is when you have a low number of people on an absolute level who are transmitting.
00:26:53.000 Once you have what is called community spread, where you're getting COVID from anonymous guy on the subway, this means you can no longer trace how you got COVID or who you gave COVID to.
00:27:02.000 There are just too many people with COVID to trace.
00:27:04.000 But we kept fighting yesterday's battles like, oh, well, you know, we must have testing.
00:27:08.000 No, we need a testing in February of 2020.
00:27:11.000 According to Politico, at the same time, Democratic governors in the North, East, and West, where case counts are dropping dramatically, are loosening mask policies and preparing residents for the reality that COVID-19 will be around long-term.
00:27:21.000 Oh, you mean it's going to turn into a generalized background noise?
00:27:26.000 As some of us have been saying for a year?
00:27:29.000 Like, since the vaccines?
00:27:30.000 Some of us have been saying this?
00:27:32.000 We're not going to manage COVID to zero, said New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
00:27:37.000 This is so maddening.
00:27:38.000 It's so maddening because, again, when you know that the right public policy was not pursued a year ago, and now all these people flip on a dime and pretend that they are doing it for the right reasons, don't believe them.
00:27:47.000 They are lying to you.
00:27:48.000 They are lying to you right now.
00:27:50.000 The data did not change.
00:27:51.000 The polling changed.
00:27:52.000 It's because of you that they are changing.
00:27:54.000 It is not for you that they are changing.
00:27:56.000 It is because of you that they are changing.
00:27:59.000 Phil Murphy says we have to learn how to live with COVID as we move from a pandemic to the endemic phase of the virus.
00:28:03.000 You know who was saying this, like, almost two years ago?
00:28:05.000 Ron DeSantis.
00:28:07.000 But he was bad.
00:28:08.000 Sweden was bad.
00:28:09.000 All these places were bad.
00:28:10.000 The best policy was to lock everybody down like China.
00:28:12.000 We needed to weld people in their homes.
00:28:14.000 That was the best policy.
00:28:16.000 Governors in Connecticut and Delaware, as well as Oregon's Health Department, announced on Monday students could soon remove their masks.
00:28:22.000 Governors in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York have also signaled forthcoming changes to their mask rules, while California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, announced he is ending the indoor mask mandate next week, but keeping masks in classrooms for now, because they still have to keep holding on to the lie that they are doing this for public policy purposes, as opposed to the real reason they're doing it, which is they got walloped by reality.
00:28:42.000 Vermont Health Commissioner Mark Levine said last week Omicron has, quote, hastened our pathway to the endemic state.
00:28:47.000 I'm glad he gets to say this now.
00:28:48.000 I said this as soon as the data started emerging in November on Omicron.
00:28:52.000 I said, this is the end of the pandemic because it is really, really, really transmissible and not very deadly.
00:28:58.000 So this means we are now in the endemic phase.
00:29:00.000 I said, this presents the end of the pandemic.
00:29:03.000 And people mocked me for this on the left, because how dare I?
00:29:07.000 Now they can all say it.
00:29:08.000 You know, solidly five months too late, four or five months too late, they can say it.
00:29:12.000 Colorado has put out a request for a proposal seeking the private sector's help in developing an endemic response plan.
00:29:17.000 And Gavin Newsom is expected to unveil an endemic strategy for the state after L.A.
00:29:21.000 hosts the Super Bowl this weekend.
00:29:24.000 In Republican-controlled states, where governors have largely resisted mask mandates and economic restrictions, declining case counts are providing a reason to end remaining traces of states' pandemic response.
00:29:33.000 Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced her final emergency declaration extension and plans to decommission the state's COVID data sites.
00:29:39.000 Well, yeah.
00:29:40.000 Again, don't pay attention to the lie that they are doing this because of public policy.
00:29:45.000 They are doing this because you said no.
00:29:48.000 And we all should have said no a year ago.
00:29:50.000 As soon as the vaccines were available, this pandemic was, for public policy purposes, over.
00:29:55.000 It's so frustrating to hear these people flip.
00:29:57.000 It really is.
00:29:58.000 Like, welcome to the party, and I'm glad for the American people that many Americans living in blue states will now have additional freedoms.
00:30:03.000 Also, the people you elect are douchebags.
00:30:07.000 Your public health officials are douchebags against Dr. Anthony Fauci.
00:30:11.000 Fauci, man.
00:30:12.000 So, yesterday, Anthony Fauci, who, until, like, the last five minutes, was telling you that, you know, there could be another two years of pandemic response and we can't let it up too early.
00:30:23.000 We might have to mask children until they're adults.
00:30:26.000 If they're five now, perhaps when they're 25 and they've been through 87 rounds of COVID.
00:30:31.000 And I am still, at the NIH, I'll be 122 years old.
00:30:36.000 At that point, maybe we can discuss how life will change.
00:30:38.000 So here's what Fauci said yesterday.
00:30:40.000 Quote.
00:30:42.000 As we get out of the full-blown pandemic phase of COVID-19, which we are certainly heading out of, these decisions will increasingly be made on a local level, rather than centrally decided or mandated.
00:30:52.000 There'll also be more people making their own decisions on how they want to deal with the virus.
00:30:57.000 Oh, screw you, you old jerk!
00:31:02.000 What did... ugh!
00:31:04.000 We had to go through like a year and a half of you pretending you knew what you were doing for you to get to the same point that Ron DeSantis was making a year and a half ago?
00:31:12.000 Put the quote back up for a second.
00:31:13.000 Let me read that slowly.
00:31:14.000 Because it's just, it's so maddening.
00:31:16.000 It's so crazy.
00:31:18.000 As we get out of the full-blown pandemic phase of COVID-19, which we are certainly heading out of, these decisions will increasingly be made on a local level rather than centrally decided or mandated.
00:31:28.000 There will also be more people making their own decisions.
00:31:31.000 You know you could have done this.
00:31:32.000 The whole time, he could have done this.
