00:00:00.000 President Trump draws a stark contrast with the Democrats at the State of the Union.
00:00:03.000 And man, is it ugly for the Democrats?
00:00:05.000 Ilhan Omar.
00:00:06.000 She gets to leave just terrible.
00:00:08.000 Plus, the media have a total meltdown over President Trump's very successful State of the Union address.
00:00:13.000 First, last night we brought you live coverage of the State of the Union.
00:00:17.000 We were there all night long.
00:00:19.000 Everybody from Cabot Phillips to meet to Andrew Clavins, Matt Walsh, Michael Molles, and Isabel Brown were actually in the chamber.
00:00:24.000 We talked with them afterward.
00:00:25.000 We couldn't do all this kind of coverage without our members.
00:00:27.000 You're the reason we're here today.
00:00:29.000 Daily Wire Plus members fuel everything we do.

00:00:36.000 That's dailywireplus.com.
00:00:38.000 President Trump's State of the Union address last night went a whopping length, one hour and 48 minutes.
00:00:44.000 But it was the moments that mattered most because President Trump humiliated the Democrats.
00:00:48.000 He humiliated them, or more precisely, they humiliated themselves.
00:00:52.000 So the content of President Trump's speech was not really the centerpiece of President Trump's speech.
00:00:58.000 President Trump, as I've said many, many times before, is a politician who does one thing very well and one thing not so well.
00:01:04.000 What he is great at doing is making it hard to vote for his political opponents.
00:01:08.000 He makes it very hard to vote for his political opponents.
00:01:11.000 He is excellent at shredding the people who face him down.
00:01:15.000 But when it comes to making himself more popular, that's more difficult.
00:01:18.000 And so where Trump shines is in those moments when he can put in stark relief his own agenda and the agenda of the people who oppose him.
00:01:26.000 This is where Trump is just masterful.
00:01:29.000 And last night, he did something that I've never seen a president do before during a State of the Union address or really ever in a public address.
00:01:37.000 And that was he used the Democrats' opposition to him, their anger at him against them.
00:01:42.000 He really jiu-jitsued them in a masterful way.
00:01:44.000 See, he knew, President Trump knew for a fact that when he went into this address, when he gave the State of the Union address, that we would see the same spectacle that we've seen before in many years past, that he would say something, Republicans would stand up and cheer, and Democrats would sit there and do nothing.
00:02:00.000 They would sit on their hands at the very least.
00:02:02.000 And in recent years, of course, Democrats have done more than that.
00:02:05.000 Last year, during his faux State of the Union address, where I was in the chamber, Democrats dressed in white.
00:02:10.000 They all color coordinated to demonstrate that President Trump hated women or some such nonsense.
00:02:16.000 They yelled at President Trump from the gallery.
00:02:19.000 They heckled him.
00:02:20.000 They jeered him.
00:02:21.000 They did all these things that when all of us were growing up were sort of unthinkable.
00:02:25.000 I'm old enough to remember when Joe Wilson, a representative from South Carolina, yelled, you lie at Barack Obama, and this created a national firestorm.
00:02:32.000 Well, now we basically have people throwing rotten eggs at the president from the Democratic side of the aisle, and it's considered perfectly normal.
00:02:38.000 So Trump knew what he was walking into.
00:02:41.000 He knew how the Democrats would act, that they would be incredibly performative, that they would be obnoxious.
00:02:48.000 And so what he did, and again, this is in broad strokes what he likes to do politically.
00:02:52.000 He took positions that are 80-20 positions.
00:02:55.000 He said things that are easy to understand for the American people and that unify Americans.
00:03:01.000 And then he pointed at the Democrats over and over and over and said, why aren't you clapping?
00:03:06.000 Why aren't you cheering?
00:03:07.000 Why aren't you standing up in unity?
00:03:11.000 And this is a great question because, again, if you go back to the Bush administration, Democrats hated George W. Bush, despised him.
00:03:18.000 But when it came to the State of the Union address, they were politically savvy enough to understand that if George W. Bush said something that was generically good, they should stand up and clap.
00:03:29.000 They're politically savvy enough to understand that if the camera is on you and the president says America's great, you should probably stand up and clap, even if you don't like that particular president.
00:03:38.000 Democrats have lost their minds because of Trump derangement syndrome.
00:03:41.000 And so they have decided that it is more worthwhile for them to sit on their butts, flat on their butts, while the president does unifying and obvious things.
00:03:50.000 And so the president came in last night and he knew, he knew they were going to do this.
00:03:54.000 And he decided to use that tactic against them.
00:03:57.000 See, this is where the president of the United States really understanding TV helps.
00:04:01.000 The president is a visual creature.
00:04:04.000 He understands innately where to put cameras, how to light things.
00:04:08.000 If you've ever watched tape of the president in an interview, he will tell people in the room how to relight him from particular angles and where the camera should be placed to its best effect.
00:04:17.000 So he knows that this is a great stage for him.
00:04:20.000 And he also knows that the cameramen in the wings are going to be focusing in on Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib, who made absolute fools of themselves last night, which was the big story.
00:04:31.000 If you're looking for campaign ads, the president provided an enormous number of campaign ads for Republicans all across the country.
00:04:38.000 As Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar screamed at him for saying baseline rational things, as Democrats put on their sourest faces as he said things like, boys are not girls.
00:04:50.000 Democrats sat there while he paid tribute to actual, honest to God, American heroes because they couldn't bring themselves to stand up if the president so much as uttered their name.
00:05:00.000 And so the genius of what Trump did last night had very little to do with his policy discussion.
00:05:04.000 There wasn't all that much policy discussion is the truth.
00:05:07.000 Usually the state of the union is a long list, a big litany of policy, and it gets pretty boring because of it.
00:05:13.000 Last night, the president focused unusually heavily on people in the gallery, which I think was smart because it allowed him to demonstrate that he is sympathetic toward human beings.
00:05:23.000 But more importantly, it made Democrats look unsympathetic toward human beings.
00:05:28.000 If a Democrat is president and Democrat calls out an American hero in the wings or somebody whose daughter was murdered and pays homage to that person, it doesn't matter if the president's a Democrat, you get up and you clap, obviously.
00:05:42.000 Trump knew they weren't going to do it.
00:05:43.000 And so he played that to its full effect.
00:05:45.000 President Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he used the tactics he used last night.
00:05:49.000 But you need to know what you are doing when you're building your business.

00:07:13.000 Meet your match on ZipRecruiter.
00:07:15.000 Now, to go back to the beginning, the way the president knew that the Democrats were going to do this is not only from prior experience, but also because Democrats were performatively oppositional, even in the lead up to the state of the union.
00:07:28.000 So for example, Ayanna Presley, the ringo star of the squad, you know, the one that everybody forgets, she stood up right before the state of the union, holding a giant sign that said, the state of our union is traumatizing our children.
00:07:41.000 Well, the president knew that she was going to do this kind of performative stuff, that they were all going to do this sort of performative stuff.
00:07:47.000 Representative Angie Craig, She said that she would rather stick a fork in her eye than watch the state of the union or attend the state of the union.
00:07:58.000 And I'll just end with this.
00:07:59.000 I would rather stick forks in my eyes than be here tonight to listen to Donald Trump talk about the state of the union.
00:08:07.000 But this is the people's house, and I will not abandon the people's house.
00:08:13.000 Okay.
00:08:14.000 So this is what Trump knew he was facing down.
00:08:16.000 When you have people openly announcing they would rather stick forks in their eyes than be there, but they'll be there anyway to be performatively oppositional.
00:08:25.000 Well, that's a tool.
00:08:27.000 That is a tool.
00:08:28.000 Representative Rocana, another performative Democrat, said that he was going to bring a heroic Epstein survivor named Haley Robson.
00:08:39.000 Our FBI director Kash Patel flew for the Olympics to Italy, drinking with our hockey team.
00:08:46.000 Our Attorney General Pam Bondi is hurling insults to members of Congress, but they've forgotten about the survivors, the thousands of survivors who just want justice.
00:08:56.000 Haley Ropeson just wants justice.
00:08:58.000 That's why I'm inviting her as my guest tomorrow at the State of the Union.
00:09:03.000 She'll be speaking not just for herself, but for the thousands of survivors.
00:09:07.000 She's a former Trump voter.
00:09:09.000 It's not about politics.
00:09:10.000 It's about making sure we're prosecuting those men who abused these young girls and who committed horrific crimes.
00:09:19.000 Oh, be quiet.
00:09:20.000 Be quiet.
00:09:21.000 Be quiet.
00:09:21.000 We don't need him.
00:09:22.000 How oppositionally stupid is Rocana?
00:09:22.000 Okay.
00:09:24.000 The person that he brought, Haley Robson, literally recruited other girls for Epstein.
00:09:30.000 She was effectively a co-conspirator.
00:09:32.000 And he brought her because he wanted to humiliate Trump.
00:09:34.000 So this is what Trump was facing.
00:09:36.000 So he comes in, he gets the cheers from the Republicans, and he starts off with the big unifying moment.
00:09:41.000 And very close to the top, he brings in the men's hockey team, the men's Olympic hockey team that just defeated our communist neighbors to the north.
00:09:48.000 And it was a great moment because guess what?
00:09:50.000 The men's hockey team winning the gold is great.
00:09:53.000 And if you don't like it, you can F off.
00:09:55.000 Like, it's great.
00:09:56.000 I don't think there's a normal person in America, doesn't matter the politics, who wasn't ecstatic at the performance of the men's Olympic hockey team in what was one of the great gold medal games in Olympic history.
00:10:08.000 So President Trump invites them in.
00:10:10.000 And of course, this stuff is unifying.
00:10:11.000 The president was very funny about it.
00:10:13.000 Here's what it sounded like.
00:10:15.000 The men's gold medal Olympic hockey team.
00:10:20.000 I do love the journalists having to pretend that they don't care and not clapping or anything because,
00:10:49.000 you know, they have to be very, very important journalists.
00:10:51.000 They're so journalists, they can't clap.
00:10:52.000 Just clap, guys.
00:10:53.000 It's fine.
00:10:54.000 That was great.
00:10:55.000 And then the president went into a detailed description of the game, which I thought was actually the most entertaining part of the evening.
00:11:00.000 The president went into the saves that were made by Connor Hollebuck, the co-lead for the U.S. men's Olympic team, and actually said that he was going to give him the presidential medal of freedom.
00:11:11.000 Again, if you're a defenseman, I guess you just don't get one, but, you know, kind of great, kind of wonderful.
00:11:17.000 And that's when the crazy began.
00:11:19.000 So Democrats throughout the night could not stop their crazy.
00:11:21.000 Al Green, who not the singer, the representative.
00:11:24.000 So Al Green last year got booted from the chamber as well.
00:11:28.000 So he got booted from the chamber this time because he was holding up a sign that said, black people aren't apes.
00:11:34.000 And pretty early on, he got his butt kicked out of the chamber for this.
00:11:47.000 This is as President Trump was walking in, obviously.
00:11:51.000 The big moment came.
00:11:52.000 The sort of announcement, the shot over the bow from the president, is when he overtly, in the middle of the speech, challenged Democrats to stand in solidarity with Americans and not in solidarity with illegal immigration.
00:12:04.000 And Democrats couldn't bring themselves to do it.
00:12:06.000 And this is smart.
00:12:08.000 It is smart.
00:12:09.000 Optically, it is a very smart thing to do.
00:12:11.000 Politically, it's a very smart thing to do.
00:12:14.000 As I've said before, President Trump in a vacuum, pretty much any president in a vacuum, but Trump specifically, you see all the flaws, right?
00:12:21.000 The president is perfectly authentic.
00:12:23.000 Whatever enters his brain exits his mouth.
00:12:26.000 Whatever he is thinking is on his face.
00:12:28.000 And so what that means is when you just look at the president, well, you see all the flaws.
00:12:33.000 But when you put him next to Rashida Talib and Nohan Omar, suddenly he looks like a knight in shining armor because the Democrats are so awful.
00:12:41.000 They're so god-awful.
00:12:43.000 So here was Donald Trump saying a very obvious proposition and daring Democrats to sit on their hands, which they did.
00:12:53.000 If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support.
00:12:58.000 The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.
00:13:10.000 And look at the Democrats sitting there.
00:13:13.000 You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up.
00:13:15.000 You should be ashamed of yourself.
00:13:19.000 Okay, again, what are Democrats thinking?
00:13:21.000 What are Democrats thinking?
00:13:22.000 I don't get it.
00:13:23.000 Like, truly, what do they lose if they stand and they say, sure?
00:13:27.000 Like, they don't give like the raucous cheers, but they, but they stand up.
00:13:30.000 And of course, I mean, duh.
00:13:32.000 What else would the first duty of the American government to be?
00:13:35.000 To protect people who are not American citizens?
00:13:37.000 What the hell are you talking about?
00:13:39.000 Democrats sitting on their hands are what a giant fail.
00:13:42.000 Again, that was scripted, right?
00:13:43.000 That was in the speech.
00:13:44.000 There are certain things the president did last night that were not, where he was having fun with the crowd.
00:13:48.000 The president is basically a stand-up comedian and he's an insult comic.
00:13:53.000 And so he has a lot of fun batting it around with the Democrats.
00:13:55.000 But that was written in.
00:13:57.000 You can see it.
00:13:59.000 He's reading when he says this.
00:14:01.000 And Democrats could not bring themselves to do the most obvious thing.
00:14:06.000 Now, there are two possibilities for why this is.
00:14:09.000 One is the nefarious possibility and one is the stupid possibility.
00:14:12.000 So the stupid possibility is that Democrats, on a generic level, agree that American citizens come first, but they hate Trump so much that they cannot bring themselves to stand up and cheer because they're afraid that their psychotic base will get angry at them for acknowledging the obvious.
00:14:27.000 That is the stupid explanation.
00:14:28.000 Then there's the nefarious explanation, which is they actually do not agree that Americans should come first, that American citizens are the top priority, that somehow they believe that illegal immigrants in the country ought to be treated exactly the same as though they've not broken the law as legally papered Americans, as U.S. citizens, as green card holders and all the rest.
00:14:52.000 And if they believe that, that's crazy towns.
00:14:54.000 But it doesn't matter for optical reasons.
00:14:56.000 It doesn't matter why they're doing what they're doing.
00:14:57.000 It's incredibly dumb.
00:14:58.000 And President Trump calling it out, this was just the beginning because over and over and over, he beat them over the head with their own idiocy, with their own optic delusions.
00:15:09.000 Truly, it was amazing.
00:15:10.000 So there came a point where President Trump was talking about fraud.
00:15:13.000 He mentioned the Somali community in Minneapolis.
00:15:17.000 And he proceeded to get in a yelling match with Ohan Omar, who could not hold it back.
00:15:20.000 And again, these images are so bad for Democrats.
00:15:23.000 My understanding is the Democrats had been told by leadership: if you want to show up and not clap, fine, but please don't provide performative spectacle for the president to rip off of.
00:15:33.000 And they couldn't do it.
00:15:34.000 They couldn't do it.
00:15:35.000 The other thing that obviously makes a huge difference here is this is again where the president understands how visuals work.
00:15:41.000 The president is standing on a dais.
00:15:44.000 He is up.
00:15:45.000 The members of Congress are in the crowd.
00:15:48.000 They're down.
00:15:49.000 They do not have a microphone.
00:15:50.000 He does have a microphone.
00:15:51.000 So you can't even hear what they're yelling.
00:15:53.000 You just hear them heckling the president and yelling at him, but you can't hear quite what they're yelling at him.
00:15:58.000 And you can hear him slap them down because he's got the mic and he's got the physical position.
00:16:03.000 And what are they thinking here?
00:16:04.000 And I understand what they're thinking.
00:16:06.000 Ilhan Omar is thinking, I'm the resistance.
00:16:08.000 I'm the hero.
00:16:09.000 You looked awful.
00:16:10.000 You looked terrible because, I mean, first of all, the bitterness against America is written all over Ilhan Omar's face.
00:16:16.000 This is a person who despises the fundamental basis of the country, truly.
00:16:20.000 And so does Rashida Tlaib, her cohort, who is sitting next to her, wearing watermelon earrings in solidarity with Hamas supporters.
00:16:28.000 But here's the president going at it with Ilhan Omar.
00:16:32.000 You should be ashamed of yourself, not standing up.
00:16:36.000 You should be ashamed of yourself.
00:16:38.000 That is why I'm also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens, in many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country.
00:16:56.000 They're blocking the removal of these people out of our country.
00:17:01.000 And you should be ashamed of that.
00:17:02.000 And I got these two benighted women screaming at the president, Ilhan Omar, giving like the full open hand to try and direct the sound.
00:17:12.000 But I'm not sure that there is a more irritating image than these two caterwalling America haters screaming at the president of the United States.
00:17:20.000 Truly, I'm not sure I've ever seen a more irritating image in politics.
00:17:24.000 I've seen a lot of irritating images in politics, but Ilhan Omar, who has a constant face of disdain for the country that has given her everything on her face, pasted on her face, and Rashida Tlaib, who bitterly despises America's place in the world, sitting there and screaming at the president while Rashida Talib is wearing a pin that I kid you not says F-Ice, but it's not blurred out.
00:17:50.000 I mean, truly, Democrats, this is what you want your future to look like.
00:17:55.000 This is what you want it to be.
00:17:57.000 You know, sometimes you have to wonder, why are Republicans so overconfident in the way they approach politics?
00:18:02.000 Why do they get distracted by shiny baubles or nonsensical issues?
00:18:06.000 Well, it's easy to get overconfident, frankly, when your opposition is Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib, whose policies and approach are approved by their district and literally no one else in America.
00:18:18.000 How radical are Talib and Ilhan Omar?
00:18:21.000 Well, after this started, the crowd on the Republican side of the aisle started chanting USA.
00:18:26.000 Look at what Rashida Tlaib, if you can see this, this is why you should subscribe so you can go watch the show.
00:18:34.000 Look at what Rashida Tlaib appears to be mouthing while people are chanting USA.
00:18:47.000 OK, well, it doesn't take an amazing lip reader to see what Rashida Tlaib and her watermelon earrings and her keffiyeh are mouthing to Ilhan Omar, KKK.
00:18:59.000 So you got the Republican side of the aisle chanting USA, and she is chanting KKK.
00:19:05.000 That's sick.
00:19:07.000 That is sick.
00:19:09.000 Our immigration system has failed.
00:19:12.000 Our legal immigration system has failed when these people are in the United States.
00:19:17.000 Seriously, our vetting system sucks if not only are these people in the United States, but they're sitting in Congress.
00:19:24.000 Truly, people who despise the fundamental, very basis of the country.
00:19:28.000 All Trump said in the lead up to that, again, was that America, our first priority, is to defend American citizens.
00:19:34.000 And that led to that.
00:19:36.000 That's what led to that.
00:19:38.000 Amazing stuff.
00:19:39.000 Well, President Trump kept dunking on Democrats all night long, using their own radicalism against them.
00:19:45.000 So he mentioned a story of a little girl who had essentially been taken from her parents and socially transitioned.
00:19:53.000 He's talking about the insanity of the trans issue.
00:19:56.000 And at a certain point, he just turns to the camera.
00:19:58.000 He's like, these people are crazy.
00:20:00.000 And these people are crazy is a pretty great line because, I mean, they didn't show themselves to be not crazy last night.
00:20:09.000 Nobody stands up.
00:20:10.000 These people are crazy.
00:20:12.000 I'm telling you.
00:20:13.000 They're crazy.
00:20:21.000 We're lucky we have a country with people like this.
00:20:24.000 Democrats are destroying our country, but we've stopped it just in the nick of time, didn't we?
00:20:31.000 And again, on non-controversial issues, truly non-controversial is Democrats refuse to stand.
00:20:37.000 So everyone remembers the horrifying images of the murder of Irina Zarutska.
00:20:41.000 Irina Zarutska, of course, was the young woman who had refugee status in the United States.
00:20:46.000 She was riding the Charlotte Light Rail, and she was stabbed in the neck from behind by a violent black felon with schizoid tendencies, apparently.
00:20:57.000 And then people around didn't help enough.
00:21:00.000 You can go back and watch the show.
00:21:00.000 I mean, it was terrible.
00:21:02.000 So the president was talking about violent crime in America's blue cities, and he paid tribute to her mom.
00:21:02.000 It was horrible.
00:21:09.000 And Democrats would not even stand for this.
00:21:12.000 I mean, come on, guys.
00:21:13.000 Do you have any, like, a grain of common sense, like one small shred of common sense, like a little bit, like a little bit of common sense?
00:21:21.000 Here's the president paying tribute to the mother of a murdered woman and Democrats being, well, you know, he is saying a thing and I don't like him.
00:21:29.000 So I'm just going to sit here.
00:21:31.000 Mrs. Zaretska, tonight I promise you we will ensure justice for your magnificent daughter, Irina.
00:22:01.000 How do you not stand?
00:22:03.000 How do you not stand?
00:22:07.000 Again, the president found the tool to use against the Democrats and he used it over and over and over.
00:22:13.000 And that is going to be the thing that hurts Democrats.
00:22:16.000 Because in the end, what people remember is moments.
00:22:18.000 Nobody remembers the policy proposals laid out by Barack Obama at his various State of the Union addresses.
00:22:24.000 If you remember anything, you remember Joe Wilson and Barack Obama getting into it or Barack Obama insulting the Supreme Court justices.
00:22:30.000 Nobody is going to remember what President Trump said about Trump accounts last night.
00:22:37.000 I mean, I like the Trump accounts.
00:22:38.000 I think they're good, but nobody's going to remember what he said.
00:22:41.000 What they are going to remember is Democrats not standing for the mother of a slain woman.
00:22:46.000 President Trump also called on members of Congress not to be able to stock trade.
00:22:51.000 Elizabeth Warren actually got up and cheered, but many Democrats did not.
00:22:54.000 And then the president went out of his way to slap Nancy Pelosi.
00:22:58.000 Let's also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information.
00:23:11.000 They stood up for that, I can't believe it.
00:23:16.000 I can't believe it.
00:23:19.000 Did Nancy Pelosi stand up if she was here?
00:23:23.000 Count it.
00:23:27.000 Okay, I mean, it's a little funny.
00:23:29.000 It's a little funny.
00:23:30.000 Let's be real.
00:23:31.000 The president also called on Erica Kirk.
00:23:33.000 She, of course, attended yesterday the State of the Union address.
00:23:38.000 The entire political world in sympathy with Erica Kirk, except for Candace Owens, who, of course, is exploiting her husband's death in order to attack Erica Kirk for cheap clicks and grifty cash.
00:23:50.000 The president called on Erica Kirk and talked about political violence.
00:23:54.000 According to Michael Knowles, who was in the room, I believe he was the guest of the speaker, apparently there were some Democrats who wouldn't even stand for this one.
00:24:04.000 I'm very proud to say that during my time in office, both the first four years and in particular this last year, there has been a tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity, and belief in God.
00:24:27.000 This is especially true among young people, and a big part of that had to do with my great friend, Charlie Kirk, a great guy.
00:24:47.000 So last year, Charlie was violently murdered by an assassin and martyred, really martyred for his beliefs.
00:24:56.000 His wonderful wife, Erica, is with us tonight.
00:24:59.000 Erica, please stand.
00:25:21.000 Thank you, Erica.
00:25:23.000 Been through a lot.
00:25:25.000 In Charlie's memory, we must all come together to reaffirm that America is one nation under God, and we must totally reject political violence of any kind.
00:25:38.000 By the way, the polling on the speech, the instant polling from CNN showed 63% support, 36% opposed.
00:25:44.000 Speaker Johnson had some words for the Democrats afterward.
00:25:48.000 Here's what the speaker had to say about Democrats' behavior during the State of the Union address.
00:25:53.000 You know, it was shameful, really.
00:25:55.000 And I came this close to stopping them.
00:25:58.000 We could have probably ejected them from the floor.
00:26:00.000 But, you know, I thought let their actions speak for themselves.
00:26:04.000 The president handled it so well, of course.
00:26:07.000 And if they'd gone a step further, we probably would have ejected them.
00:26:10.000 But I think it was good for them to be there.
00:26:12.000 I think it's good for the American people to see the shame that they brought upon their party and upon themselves.
00:26:16.000 And what a stark contrast between them and between the Republican Party.
00:26:22.000 I mean, again, he is right about that.
00:26:24.000 Now, the president did have some policy talk last night.
00:26:27.000 It was not all stories and medal awarding.
00:26:29.000 He did some of that.
00:26:31.000 He went after the Supreme Court very briefly, certainly in, and I thought, a better vein than he did in his immediate reaction to the Supreme Court decision last week that struck down his abuse of tariff power that had not been delegated to him.
00:26:44.000 He kind of went after the Supreme Court.
00:26:46.000 He called it disappointing, but he withheld his accusations of foreign meddling or stupidity from the Supreme Court.
00:26:53.000 And then just four days ago, an unfortunate ruling from the United States Supreme Court.
00:26:58.000 It just came down.
00:26:59.000 It came down.
00:27:00.000 Very unfortunate ruling.
00:27:05.000 But the good news is that almost all countries and corporations want to keep the deal that they already made, right, Scott?
00:27:15.000 Knowing that the legal power that I, as president, have to make a new deal could be far worse for them.
00:27:23.000 And therefore, they will continue to work along the same successful path that we had negotiated before the Supreme Court's unfortunate involvement.
00:27:33.000 So despite the disappointing ruling, these powerful countries saving.
00:27:39.000 It's saving our country, the kind of money we're taking in.
00:27:44.000 Now, the other area of policy the president touched on that is interesting because it is unfolding in real time is, of course, the possibility of a conflict again with Iran.
00:27:53.000 Here is the president speaking about the Iranian government, what they've been pursuing.
00:27:58.000 They've already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they're working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America.
00:28:09.000 After Midnight Hammer, they were warned to make no future attempts to rebuild their weapons program, in particular, nuclear weapons.
00:28:19.000 Yet they continue starting it all over.
00:28:22.000 We wiped it out, and they want to start all over again.
00:28:26.000 And are at this moment, again, pursuing their sinister ambitions.
00:28:31.000 We are in negotiations with them.
00:28:32.000 They want to make a deal, but we haven't heard those secret words.
00:28:36.000 We will never have a nuclear weapon.
00:28:41.000 My preference, my preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy.
00:29:02.000 But one thing is certain.
00:29:03.000 I will never allow the world's number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon.
00:29:10.000 Can't let that happen.
00:29:13.000 Now, it's interesting because there are a couple of ways to read what he's saying.
00:29:17.000 And this is going to be pretty relevant for the negotiations that are slated to happen Thursday, possibly Friday.
00:29:23.000 So there are really several issues that are on the table with regard to what the Iranian regime must do or should do.
00:29:29.000 One, no nuclear program, not no nuclear weapons, no nuclear program, because, of course, a civilian nuclear program can be converted into a military nuclear program pretty quickly and easily.
00:29:39.000 And the Iranians simply saying we won't build a nuclear weapon is no assurance they won't build a nuclear weapon.
00:29:44.000 That's called the JCPOA and Barack Obama did it.
00:29:47.000 He also talked there about the ballistic missile development of Iran, but he did not really link that ballistic missile development to concessions that Iran must make.
00:29:55.000 This has been sort of an open divide inside the administration.
00:29:58.000 Some members of the administration are pushing the Iranians they need to give up their ballistic missile program as well so they can't threaten surrounding countries and allies ranging from Israel to Saudi Arabia and all the way to Europe.
00:30:08.000 Should that be part of the negotiation?
00:30:09.000 There are some people who are saying, no, no, no, no, that shouldn't be part, which of course I think is insane and ridiculous because they can attach not only nuclear weapons, but chemical and biological weapons to warheads that are capable of hitting populated centers in allied nations.
00:30:23.000 And as the president says, are building long-range ICBMs, theoretically capable of even hitting American territory.
00:30:29.000 And then there is the question of their treatment of their own population, the murder of 32,000 people in the streets, the support for regional and global terrorism.
00:30:37.000 Are all of those things going to be on the table in the negotiations?
00:30:40.000 Or is the United States going to seek an off-ramp by basically cutting an even weaker version of Barack Obama's JCPOA deal?
00:30:46.000 I don't think it's clear from what the president is saying right there which direction he's going to go.
00:30:51.000 According to CNBC, the U.S. and Iran are poised to hold further nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday.
00:30:59.000 Again, he says that his preference is negotiated endpoint here.
00:31:03.000 The question really, in the end, is going to be whether the president of the United States is too concerned about the possibility of a multi-week air campaign against the Iranians to actually do it.
00:31:15.000 And the Iranians just bluff him.
00:31:17.000 That's really all this is about.
00:31:18.000 No one, again, no one is talking about a massive ground invasion of Tehran.
00:31:22.000 No one is talking about a long-term occupation of Tehran.
00:31:24.000 Nobody is talking about hundreds of thousands of American boots on the ground in theater.
00:31:30.000 Nobody's talking about that.
00:31:32.000 The question here for the president is: What is the risk reward here for a multi-week era campaign to defenestrate the IRGC and the Ayatollahs and the Moahs in Iran?
00:31:43.000 And then, whatever happens, happens.
00:31:46.000 Because I will tell you that everyone else is watching.
00:31:49.000 If the United States backs off of this and cuts some sort of unbelievably weak deal, the consequences will not just be for the Middle East, where Israel will be forced to ramp up its military even more and probably go and attack Iran itself, given Iran's capacity and increasing capacity in both nuclear and ballistic missile development and its renewed attempts to support terrorism.
00:32:10.000 But aside from the Middle East, the Russians are looking on.
00:32:13.000 The president has put a lot of pressure on the Ukrainians and not enough pressure on the Russians.
00:32:17.000 They're probably thinking to themselves the United States is backing off.
00:32:20.000 They probably renew their offensive in Ukraine, redouble it, triple it.
00:32:24.000 China probably looks at Taiwan and says, why not blockade Taiwan?
00:32:28.000 Who's going to stop us?
00:32:29.000 And the reality is that the United States remains extraordinarily dependent on the microchips that are produced in Taiwan.
00:32:36.000 And if you're China and if your window of opportunity is closing, which it is demographically, the Chinese have a massive demographic problem.
00:32:42.000 They have a major debt problem.
00:32:44.000 If your window of opportunity is closing, you're being out-competed, particularly in the AI industry, then why not make a move on Taiwan if you no longer fear the big red button that President Trump holds?
00:32:55.000 These are the consequences of foreign policy.
00:32:56.000 We'll have to see how it plays out.
00:32:59.000 Democrats did deliver a response last night.
00:33:01.000 Abigail Spanberger, the new governor of Virginia, she is the face many Democrats are pushing because she is perceived as moderate.
00:33:08.000 Again, Democrats are attempting.
00:33:11.000 This is why last night was a failure for the Democrats, because the question is, did you emerge from last night thinking Democrats look more like Abigail Spanberger in their politics or more like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib?
00:33:20.000 If the latter, Democrats have a really rough road.
00:33:22.000 If the former, maybe they have a better road.
00:33:25.000 So Abigail Spanberger delivered her message.
00:33:27.000 It was supposedly more moderate, but even Abigail Spanberger could not help but attack ICE as terrorizing Americans.
00:33:36.000 And yet, our president has sent poorly trained federal agents into our cities where they have arrested and detained American citizens and people who aspire to be Americans.
00:33:49.000 And they have done it without a warrant.
00:33:52.000 They have ripped nursing mothers away from their babies.
00:33:55.000 They have sent children, a little boy in a blue bunny hat, children to far-off detention centers.
00:34:04.000 And they have killed American citizens in our streets.
00:34:08.000 And they have done it all with their faces masked from accountability.
00:34:13.000 Every minute spent sowing fear is a minute not spent investigating murders, crimes against children, or the criminals defrauding seniors of their life savings.
00:34:23.000 Our president told us tonight that we are safer because these agents arrest mothers and detain children.
00:34:31.000 Think about that.
00:34:32.000 Our broken immigration system is something to be fixed, not an excuse for unaccountable agents to terrorize our communities.
00:34:44.000 Now, if Democrats think this is a winning message, I don't know how to tell you.
00:34:47.000 If that's your moderate face, you got a problem.
00:34:50.000 Well, most of the moderates were not on display last night, not only in the chamber, but also outside the chamber.
00:34:55.000 Apparently, radical Democrats held what they called the People's State of the Union.
00:35:00.000 It didn't go great.
00:35:01.000 It was held by Move On, and it featured some kind of funny and awkward moments.
00:35:07.000 Some good Michael Scott level comedy here.
00:35:09.000 So Joy Reid and Katie Fang hosted this thing.
00:35:12.000 And at one point, Joy Reid started to sing, oh no.
00:35:17.000 It didn't.
00:35:18.000 Oh, no.
00:35:20.000 There we go.
00:35:22.000 Tonight, you are going to hear people that have been impacted directly by the bullshit of this administration.
00:35:31.000 Amen.
00:35:32.000 And because I'm also a church girl.
00:35:36.000 Sorry, Joy, for my language.
00:35:37.000 Oh, no.
00:35:38.000 I'm a cousin Christian, sis.
00:35:40.000 It's all good.
00:35:41.000 I'm a cousin Christian.
00:35:43.000 But we want to start off this night by doing something that I think is so important, Katie.
00:35:47.000 And that is reclaiming the Christian voice from white Christian nationalism.
00:35:54.000 That's right.
00:35:54.000 Which not only threatens our freedom, but also threatens a very important faith throughout this world.
00:36:02.000 Christianity is not what you have been sold by Project 2025.
00:36:09.000 Okay, good luck with that one.
00:36:11.000 So Christianity is transgenderism, same-sex marriage, abortion on demand.
00:36:19.000 Yeah, that's your pitch.
00:36:21.000 Ooh, boy.
00:36:22.000 Oh, and then Joy Reed also started to sing.
00:36:24.000 It didn't go amazing.
00:36:26.000 Al Green, if you can hear me, I so win.
00:36:34.000 Come on.
00:36:35.000 Here it go, keep it going.
00:36:36.000 Whatever you, it's all right with me.
00:36:45.000 The people's state of the union, which I don't know which people, I like when left to say the people.
00:36:50.000 The people.
00:36:51.000 And what they really mean is just the people who agree with us.
00:36:53.000 So Senator Ed Markey, who looks like he is straight from some sort of nursing home at this point, senator from Massachusetts, got up there and started ranting about trans rights at the People's State of the Union, a thing at the top of everyone's concern list.
00:37:11.000 Americans are deeply concerned about Ed Markey's views on chopping the penises off of healthy boys.
00:37:19.000 I will not stand by while they target transgender people, demonizing trans kids, banning them from schools and sports, and trying to erase their very existence from public life.
00:37:33.000 Trans rights are human rights.
00:37:36.000 You got to feel a little bit bad for Ed Markey, who is sort of low-rent Bernie Sanders, which I know it seems impossible because Bernie Sanders has never paid rent.
00:37:42.000 He's a useless human being.
00:37:44.000 But Ed Markey, he's the one everyone forgets about.
00:37:47.000 He's even got a little bit of that.
00:37:48.000 Ted Kennedy, we are saying that you must love the transgender ideology.
00:37:55.000 He's got that, but nobody cares about him.
00:37:56.000 So that was a success.
00:37:58.000 And then there was just the sheer anger.
00:38:00.000 So James Carville, he delivered a personal message to President Trump.
00:38:04.000 I think this is going to be an effective tactic for Democrats is to speak like James Carville does.
00:38:11.000 I have a personal message for Donald John Trump.
00:38:17.000 And you sit still, you son of a twin.
00:38:19.000 I'm telling you, this is going to tell you right where you are, you fat, sorry sack of shit.
00:38:24.000 People hate you.
00:38:27.000 Whoa, James Carville.
00:38:32.000 Groundbreaking stuff under the 75th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
00:38:37.000 If James Carville tells you that you're a fat, sorry, sack of bleep and that people hate you, you are no longer president.
00:38:43.000 So I'm sure the president is sitting there and taking all that in and weeping this morning because James Carville said those mean, mean things to him.
00:38:49.000 Jimmy Kimmel, who decided long ago that he would stop being funny in favor of just being a second-rate politico, got up there, tears in his eyes as per our usual arrangement, and gave the real State of the Union address.
00:39:03.000 So much smarm, so much pain and angst.
00:39:07.000 Here's Jimmy Kimmel.
00:39:10.000 Here's the real state of the union, okay?
00:39:12.000 We have a nutjob wannabe king who's doing everything he can to censor opinions he doesn't want to hear.
00:39:18.000 He has his goons arresting, incarcerating, and killing American citizens.
00:39:22.000 He's got funding for cancer research at children's hospitals while he rakes in literally billions of dollars for himself and his family.
00:39:30.000 He's coming after our right to vote.
00:39:32.000 He's protecting pedophiles and won't explain it.
00:39:34.000 He's lining the pockets of billionaires all while neglecting the sick, the poor, the hungry in the name of Jesus, by the way, who you can read all about in a Donald Trump edition of the God Bless the USA Bible that is made in China and available for $99.99.
00:39:50.000 That is the state of the human.
00:39:53.000 Wow.
00:39:54.000 Wow.
00:39:54.000 So much.
00:39:55.000 Did you hear all the jokes in there?
00:39:56.000 There are so many jokes.
00:39:57.000 Whoa.
00:39:59.000 Oh, Jimmy Kimmel.
00:40:01.000 Rachel Maddow was similarly upset over at MS Now as opposed to MS Then.
00:40:06.000 And she said that Trump's speech was violence.
00:40:13.000 I don't know what you're doing in your off hours, but all right.
00:40:20.000 For long stretches of the speech that were essentially sort of violence, he talked about people being covered in blood, gushing blood, blood pouring out of things.
00:40:32.000 He talked about people being on the edge of death.
00:40:34.000 He went into graphic detail on a number of different people's injuries of various kinds.
00:40:39.000 And in those moments, he slowed down, ad-libbed a lot, and tried to give seemingly as much sort of gory detail as he could, talking about very bloody scenes.
00:40:50.000 Don't say blood, guys.
00:40:51.000 You're not allowed.
00:40:52.000 When somebody is wounded during the snatch and grab of Nicolas Maduro, you must never talk about their bloody wounds ever.
00:41:00.000 Ever.
00:41:01.000 You must instead describe them in the most antiseptic terms possible.
00:41:05.000 Now, it never apparently occurs to Rachel Maddow that the reason that you describe these injuries is for the emotional effect of the thing.
00:41:11.000 The reason why we pay tribute to heroes is because they have undergone tremendous suffering, and you must talk about that suffering in order to actually understand the level of the heroism.
00:41:21.000 Or if you're talking about the victim of a crime, it doesn't suffice to say that someone was struck by a car.
00:41:26.000 You actually have to describe their injuries if you wish to explain just how bad the injuries were.
00:41:31.000 But apparently, this is violence to okay.
00:41:35.000 That's that's a that's a take as well.
00:41:37.000 Again, Democrats have got a problem.
00:41:39.000 They want to portray themselves as the great moderates of the American political scene.
00:41:43.000 Last night demonstrated full scale that they are not, but it's not just at the state of the union, they continue to make fools of themselves nationwide.
00:41:50.000 Zorhan Mamdani, the smuggest man on earth, Captain Smarm, a man whose smile is pasted on his face, plastered on his face in almost Joker-like Cesar Romero fashion.
00:42:05.000 Well, Zarmamdani yesterday announced there would be no prosecutions against people who injured NYPD officers.
00:42:11.000 We talked about this yesterday on the show.
00:42:13.000 There was a situation in which NYPD officers arrived at Washington Square and people began pelting them with snowballs.
00:42:18.000 And he said it was all fun and games, don't you understand?
00:42:21.000 They're just having a snowball fight, you know, like one would with an armed officer.
00:42:26.000 Here is Zarmamdani just being predictably terrible.
00:42:31.000 From the videos that I've seen, it looks like a snowball fight.
00:42:35.000 I think that there were two officers who were facing lacerations on their face.
00:42:39.000 We've all put prosecution of those who guilted them.
00:42:42.000 Look, I've seen the videos of this snowball fight.
00:42:45.000 I think that it was a snowball fight.
00:42:48.000 Oh, it's just a snowball fight.
00:42:49.000 Well, see, here's the fun thing about snowball fights.
00:42:51.000 Usually, I've been in some with my kids.
00:42:53.000 Usually the way that it works is that everyone is throwing snowballs.
00:42:56.000 So unless the police officers were also throwing snowballs back at people in the crowd, and it was just a funnel, good time.
00:43:02.000 You know, people diving into snowbanks and people enjoying it and laughter and happiness.
00:43:07.000 I mean, we do have video of the thing, and it is officers walking away from giant crowds of people who are walking after them, hurling snowballs at them.
00:43:15.000 You want to know why cops are quitting?
00:43:17.000 You want to know why cops don't want to serve in the NYPD?
00:43:20.000 Because of the political leadership that says if you assault an officer and you do it with a snowball or an ice ball or whatever, then Zorhan Mamdani will come out and defend you as just a frisky snowball throwing kid.
00:43:32.000 I wonder why so many people are like, hey, maybe law and order is in jeopardy here.
00:43:36.000 Maybe law and order is in jeopardy.
00:43:37.000 Meanwhile, AOC and Mamzani invited illegal immigrants to free child care in Spanish.
00:43:43.000 There is that creepy smarmy pasted on grin from Zorhan Mamdani.
00:43:48.000 I honest to God can't deal with it.
00:43:48.000 I can't deal with it.
00:43:53.000 The richtest grin of Zorhan Mamdani.
00:43:56.000 Hola.
00:43:58.000 Mi español no es alga.
00:44:00.000 No, no testre cus pas alcalde.
00:44:02.000 Si su yo yja está confiendo 3s o cuatro años ena dos mi 2ndices.
00:44:07.000 Usted puede rejistrad los gratis en programa aquín detres o prequíni.
00:44:13.000 She's saying that everybody is eligible.
00:44:15.000 Pre-K or pre-K in New York City.
00:44:17.000 But you must apply.
00:44:20.000 February 27th, which is the deadline.
00:44:22.000 And then if you just keep your eyes on Zorn Mamtani just grinning at the camera, oh my God.
00:44:28.000 Regardless of your occupation, income or immigration status, how free free child care for the illegals.
00:44:34.000 Oh, isn't that nice?
00:44:36.000 Yay, New York.
00:44:37.000 This is what you guys got yourself into.
00:44:40.000 Congrats.
00:44:41.000 You have AOC jabbering in Spanish at you and Zorin Mamtani sitting there as though he fell into a vat of toxic waste and now his face is frozen that way.
00:44:54.000 Enjoy your multiple years of this sort of happiness, New York City.
00:44:57.000 It'll go well.
00:44:58.000 Well, at least the Democrats still have some national figures who are worth their assault.
00:45:02.000 Like Kamala Harris, fourth look, seventh look at Kamala Harris.
00:45:10.000 Is she making her great comeback?
00:45:12.000 Or did they finally run out of wine at the Harris mansion?
00:45:15.000 Well, here she was yesterday explaining the reason she lost was miss and disinformation and also his information and disinformation.
00:45:23.000 All the information.
00:45:25.000 So here is Kamala Harris, the world's worst presidential candidate, who failed upward into every job she has ever held, except for some of her original jobs where she was, you know, Willie Browning it.
00:45:37.000 And here is Kamala Harris.
00:45:40.000 Who do you regard as your biggest opponent in this election?
00:45:45.000 Was it time?
00:45:48.000 Was it Trump?
00:45:49.000 Was it the Biden administration?
00:45:54.000 Who was your biggest foe?
00:45:57.000 That's a wonderful way to think of it.
00:46:00.000 Well, there were many.
00:46:04.000 Certainly, there was the obvious one on the ballot.
00:46:08.000 But I'd say probably almost in equal measure: time and misinformation.
00:46:17.000 Misinformation about what?
00:46:19.000 Miss and disinformation about a number of things, whether it be anything to do with what we were challenged with as an economy and what the source of those challenges are, affordability, mis and disinformation about who actually had a plan to deal with affordability.
00:46:41.000 And, you know, I mean, frankly, I think one of the big issues that impacted the outcome of the election was my opponent told people on day one he was going to lower prices and he lied.
00:46:55.000 And, you know, so the and time also can work in conjunction with, or the lack of time can work in conjunction with mis and disinformation, meaning that there's not a sufficient amount of time to get the facts out to get accurate information out.
00:47:15.000 I mean, she is magnificent.
00:47:18.000 How did she lose?
00:47:19.000 With that sort of extraordinary command of both the English language and the fact, how in the world did Kamala Harris lose?
00:47:25.000 What were Americans thinking when they didn't make her president of the United States?
00:47:29.000 She's asked a basic question: like, what kind of missing disinformation?
00:47:31.000 And she says, nothing.
00:47:34.000 She starts spinning like a top.
00:47:36.000 You know, missing disinformation about, you know, like the economy and things in the world.
00:47:43.000 And the world's the place that is filled.
00:47:45.000 It's filled with, you know, things happening in conjunction with time and the space-time continuum.
00:47:52.000 And, you know, the flux capacitor operates when you hit 88 miles an hour, but only in electric vehicle.
00:48:05.000 That lady is either the frontrunner or the person who is second to Gavin Newsom in the primaries right now for Democrats.
00:48:10.000 She says she's thinking about running again, to which I say, do it.
00:48:16.000 Yes.
00:48:17.000 Yes.
00:48:19.000 We all need more Kamala Harris in our lives, except for Doug, but we all, the rest of us, need more Kamala Harrison in our lives.
00:48:26.000 Will you run again?
00:48:29.000 I haven't decided.
00:48:31.000 You're still thinking about it.
00:48:33.000 I might.
00:48:36.000 Yeah.
00:48:37.000 That's what I'm insane.
00:48:39.000 That's what I closed the book and I'm like, oh, she wants to.
00:48:42.000 She's just thinking about it.
00:48:44.000 About it.
00:48:45.000 If that was my impression.
00:48:48.000 By the way, it will be the most hilarious thing ever if Democrats run her again.
00:48:51.000 It will be hysterically funny.
00:48:52.000 I do not think that will happen.
00:48:53.000 I think that the donors are not going to pour their money into that failed candidacy.
00:48:57.000 I do not think they will do that.
00:48:59.000 I don't think they're that stupid.
00:49:01.000 On the other hand, are they that stupid?
00:49:06.000 Maybe.
00:49:06.000 They might be that stupid.
00:49:08.000 It's possible.
00:49:09.000 All righty, folks.
00:49:09.000 The show continues for our members right now.
00:49:11.000 We'll bring you the latest on the Nancy Guthrie story.
00:49:14.000 I mean, this thing is going to get dark.
00:49:15.000 It just is.
00:49:16.000 Plus, Bill Gates admitting to some sexual impropriety, not with regard to Jeffrey Epstein, just generally, but also a little bit of regret on the Epstein stuff.
00:49:25.000 We'll get into all the details.
00:49:26.000 Remember, in order to watch, you have to be a member.

00:49:51.000 Whatever.
00:49:52.000 You know what?
00:49:53.000 One, two, three, four.
00:50:01.000 I cannot believe we're back here again, Ben.
00:50:04.000 If the Ben Shapiro shows mom, then Ben After Dark is a cool mom.
00:50:10.000 James.
00:50:12.000 You know, like irresponsible.
