00:00:00.000 China flies a spy balloon over American soil and the Biden administration does nothing.
00:00:04.000 Anti-Semitic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar loses her Foreign Affairs Committee spot as Democrats' caterwaul.
00:00:09.000 And 86 Democrats vote against condemning the horrors of socialism.
00:00:13.000 This is the Bench Bureau Show.
00:00:13.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:14.000 All right, so late yesterday afternoon, the news broke that a Chinese spy balloon was found over the northern United States.
00:00:28.000 It is a giant spy balloon.
00:00:30.000 It looks as though the Wizard of Oz is going to descend in this balloon or as the balloon boy may be found in this balloon.
00:00:36.000 Went through a wormhole in the past somehow emerged here, but actually it is a Chinese spy satellite.
00:00:41.000 Apparently, according to NBC News, U.S.
00:00:43.000 military has been monitoring a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that has been hovering over the northern United States for the past few days, and military and defense leaders have discussed shooting it out of the sky, according to U.S.
00:00:52.000 officials and a senior defense official.
00:00:54.000 Pentagon spokesperson, Brigadier General Pat Ryder told NBC News, The United States government has detected and is tracking a high altitude surveillance balloon that is over the continental United States right now. We continue to track and monitor it closely.
00:01:06.000 Once the balloon was detected, the U.S. government acted immediately to protect against collection of sensitive information. Apparently, the high altitude balloon was spotted over Billings, Montana on Wednesday at It flew over the Aleutian Islands, through Canada and into Montana as well.
00:01:19.000 This apparently is not the only spy balloon that China has sent out there.
00:01:23.000 Apparently now the Canadians are suggesting that there may be a second spy balloon that was flying over Canada.
00:01:29.000 And apparently the new rule is that China gets to do pretty much whatever it wants in this space and we will do nothing.
00:01:35.000 Now, there are a bunch of unanswered questions here.
00:01:38.000 Unanswered question number one, why are you flying a spy balloon?
00:01:40.000 What does it actually accomplish?
00:01:42.000 See, China has satellites.
00:01:43.000 Those satellites are perfectly capable of taking pictures from space of things in Montana, for example.
00:01:48.000 Presumably, one of the things that they're attempting to monitor is America's nuclear arsenal, much of which is located in Montana.
00:01:56.000 If things go with satellites, why are they sending a balloon?
00:01:58.000 Well, there are really only two possible answers to this question.
00:02:01.000 Possible answer number one is that the balloon has capabilities for some odd reason that their satellites do not.
00:02:07.000 Maybe a satellite went offline, they had to send a balloon instead.
00:02:09.000 Maybe the balloon is more sophisticated for some reason than the satellites are getting better pictures.
00:02:13.000 And one is that the balloon is actually more effective than the satellites.
00:02:16.000 In which case, we should shoot it out of the sky because we shouldn't allow the Chinese to float a balloon over American soil.
00:02:21.000 I don't know why this is difficult at all.
00:02:22.000 By the way, you know who used to know this?
00:02:24.000 Like, the Soviets knew this.
00:02:25.000 The Chinese knew this.
00:02:27.000 And very famously, in 1960, the United States had a U-2 surveillance flight shot down by the Soviet Union.
00:02:33.000 It led to the actual imprisonment of an American pilot.
00:02:37.000 Famously, the Chinese in 2001 knocked an American jet out of the sky.
00:02:40.000 There were two jets that came into conflict.
00:02:43.000 Over China.
00:02:44.000 And that ended up with a major negotiation between the United States and China.
00:02:47.000 So foreign countries have no problem, apparently, knocking American surveillance out of the sky.
00:02:51.000 But apparently the Biden administration does not want to knock a balloon out of the sky.
00:02:55.000 And then there's the second possibility, which is China is doing this as a deliberate provocation.
00:03:00.000 But the reason they are sending the balloon is because they know that we will notice a balloon.
00:03:02.000 It turns out they are large and slow moving.
00:03:04.000 And so it'd be kind of hard for us not to notice the spy balloon.
00:03:07.000 It's a weather satellite?
00:03:07.000 What are they going to say?
00:03:09.000 And so we probably should knock it out of the sky.
00:03:11.000 In other words, we shouldn't allow a giant balloon to float over American soil unanswered.
00:03:16.000 All it would take is a well-placed piece of ordinance to knock the balloon out of the sky.
00:03:20.000 The Biden administration instead decided to do nothing.
00:03:23.000 It's almost beyond reason.
00:03:27.000 I don't understand what exactly the rationale would be for both the United States and Canada allowing China to do this sort of thing.
00:03:34.000 In a brief statement late on Thursday, the Canadian Department of National Defense said a high-altitude surveillance balloon had been detected and was being actively tracked by a North American Aerospace Defense Command, a U.S.-Canadian military organization, and didn't provide any details about that balloon or say whether it was the same balloon that was detected inside the United States.
00:03:51.000 What in the actual hell?
00:03:53.000 Like seriously, why is it that the Chinese get to float a balloon over American soil?
00:03:59.000 Do you feel safe in the administration that allows the Chinese to float?
00:04:03.000 Again, this is not a fast moving projectile that is moving over the United States.
00:04:06.000 This is not some sort of stealth surveillance plane that the United States just missed.
00:04:11.000 It's not a satellite.
00:04:13.000 It is a balloon.
00:04:15.000 We should be shooting those things down, just as a sign to everybody else that you don't get to do this sort of thing over American soil.
00:04:20.000 Meanwhile, the Biden administration, which had nothing to say about any of this yesterday, they did have certain things to say about, for example, the use of Russian anthems in international events.
00:04:30.000 I gotta say, I feel like your priorities are a little misplaced, guys.
00:04:33.000 Chinese balloon surveilling America's nuclear sites in Montana.
00:04:37.000 Let it go.
00:04:38.000 International organizations having athletes play their national anthem very bad.
00:04:43.000 Here's Karine Jean-Pierre trying to make this case yesterday.
00:04:46.000 In cases where sports organizations and event organizers, such as the International Olympic Committee, choose to permit athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in supporting events, it should be absolutely clear that they are not representing the Russian or Belarusian states.
00:05:04.000 And so that's the stance that we are providing, and the use of official state Russian-Belarusian flags, emblems, and anthems should be prohibited as well.
00:05:15.000 OK, so the use of Russian anthems in international sporting competition.
00:05:18.000 That should be prohibited.
00:05:19.000 Chinese flying balloons over American soil.
00:05:22.000 You know, that sort of stuff happens.
00:05:24.000 What are the priorities of this administration?
00:05:25.000 It's just it's cowardice.
00:05:27.000 I mean, there's no other way to actually look at this unless there is something we do not know.
00:05:30.000 This looks like cowardice.
00:05:31.000 It looks like the Biden administration does not want to come to grips with the Chinese.
00:05:34.000 And so they are allowing them to do things that no sovereign country should allow to happen to itself.
00:05:40.000 Meanwhile, if you're looking at the state of the economy right now, it sort of seems like it's in a state of flux.
00:05:44.000 You've got the Federal Reserve, which continues to raise the interest rates, trying to drive down the inflation rates.
00:05:49.000 Hiring continues to be really, really hot.
00:05:51.000 There's a new economic report out today that suggests that hiring remains unbelievably hot in January.
00:05:55.000 Over half a million jobs gained in the January report.
00:05:58.000 Well, with all this uncertainty in the economy, shouldn't you diversify at least a little bit with my friends over at Birchgold?
00:06:03.000 You should call them up.
00:06:04.000 They will get you set up to invest some of your money in the metal that has always provided a repository of value no matter the economic circumstances.
00:06:11.000 There's a reason that mankind has always been obsessed with gold.
00:06:14.000 I mean, aside from the fact that it doesn't rust and it's malleable into various shapes, it also happens to be the world's best store of value over time.
00:06:20.000 So taxes, you know, they suck and Birchgold can help you avoid them by helping to shift over some of your money into a tax sheltered retirement account.
00:06:28.000 Birchgold is the real deal.
00:06:29.000 They have an A plus rating with the Better Business Bureau, thousands of happy customers, countless five star reviews.
00:06:33.000 I think those reviews are speaking the truth because I'm one of the customers for Birchgold.
00:06:38.000 Again, relying on the federal government to keep your money safe, probably not the world's best answer given the fact that we have a $31 trillion debt.
00:06:44.000 So why don't you head on over to Birchgold right now?
00:06:47.000 text Ben to 989898, claim your free info kit on Gold Ben, talk to one of their precious metal specialists, that's Ben, to 989898 right now, go check them out right this very second.
00:06:58.000 Okay, so meanwhile, the other big story of the day, another big story yesterday, was that Ilhan Omar was booted off the House Foreign Affairs Committee. And apparently, this is the worst act of legislative usurpation in American history.
00:07:12.000 I mean, if you're judged by the Democratic reaction to the thing that they actually did to Paul Gosar and Marjorie Taylor Greene last time around, if you do it to Ilhan Omar, it's super bad.
00:07:20.000 So remember, there was a precedent.
00:07:21.000 The precedent was that parties get to pick the members of the committee that are members of their party.
00:07:26.000 So if you're in the minority and you're the Republican Party, you get to pick which members go on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:07:31.000 Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats, they decided they didn't like this because they don't like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
00:07:35.000 And they didn't like Paul Gosar.
00:07:37.000 And so they decided they were just going to kick them off committees.
00:07:39.000 And so now the Republicans have taken the House and they say, well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
00:07:44.000 F around and find out.
00:07:45.000 In other words, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
00:07:48.000 If this is the new way that we play this game, then those rules apply to you also.
00:07:51.000 And that means that we can kick your vicious Jew hater off of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:07:55.000 Now, by the way, Ilhan Omar was elected.
00:07:58.000 I don't know what that says for the people of her district, but she has been elected multiple times to her seat in Minnesota.
00:08:04.000 She is a vicious Jew hater.
00:08:06.000 That is evident from all of her record, which we'll go through in a moment.
00:08:09.000 Because remember, this is the person that Democrats are defending.
00:08:11.000 They're trying to pretend that this is about Ilhan Omar's race or her religion, which really is amazing because what they're effectively suggesting is that intersectionality is a cover for hating Jews.
00:08:20.000 That if you're a woman of color who is Muslim and comes from a foreign country, you can hate Jews as much as you damn well please.
00:08:26.000 And we will defend you because the only thing that matters about you is those intersectional characteristics that make you a victim rather than a victimizer.
00:08:33.000 But Ilhan Omar's record of being Very untethered toward the Jews is widely available.
00:08:41.000 And so if Republicans come into office and they're like, OK, you guys booted our people off committees.
00:08:45.000 Now we're going to find the worst of you and we're going to boot you off committees from Adam Schiff being booted off Intel to Eric Swalwell, who was being honeypotted by a Chinese spy.
00:08:53.000 We'll kick them off Intel and we'll kick Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:08:57.000 Democrats starting to scream about this right now really have no leg to stand on.
00:09:01.000 So to understand just how small a leg they have to stand on, we need to go through exactly what Ilhan Omar has said about the jurors.
00:09:10.000 She really doesn't like them.
00:09:12.000 So we can go all the way back.
00:09:14.000 And remember, she hasn't apologized for these comments, really.
00:09:17.000 She's never suggested that she was wrong.
00:09:19.000 She suggested she just didn't understand what she was saying.
00:09:21.000 It was just ignorance, of course.
00:09:23.000 So in November of 2012, she tweeted, Israel has hypnotized the world.
00:09:27.000 May Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.
00:09:31.000 Hashtag Gaza, hashtag Palestine, hashtag Israel.
00:09:33.000 That was in the middle of Hamas firing rockets into Israel.
00:09:37.000 But Israel, the Jews, the Jews, they hypnotized the world.
00:09:40.000 Fast forward to 2016, and you'll recall that Ilhan Omar actually asked a judge for compassion for ISIS recruits.
00:09:50.000 So there are people in her community who had been recruited to ISIS, and she sent letters to the judge encouraging leniency for the people who had been recruited to ISIS.
00:10:01.000 And the reason, supposedly, that there should have been some sort of mercy for these people is because they, in fact, are victims.
00:10:11.000 She says.
00:10:11.000 This is in her letter at the time.
00:10:15.000 The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion.
00:10:18.000 We must alter our attitude and approach.
00:10:19.000 If we truly want to affect change, we should refocus our efforts on inclusion and rehabilitation.
00:10:24.000 The desire to commit violence is not inherent to people.
00:10:26.000 It is the consequences of systemic alienation.
00:10:28.000 People seek violent solutions when the process established for enacting change is inaccessible to them.
00:10:33.000 Fueled by disaffection turned to malice, if the guilty were willing to kill and be killed fighting perceived injustice, imagine the consequence of them hearing, I believe you can be rehabilitated.
00:10:41.000 I want you to become part of my community.
00:10:43.000 Together we will thrive.
00:10:45.000 So, the idea is that you are a victim if you're trying to join ISIS.
00:10:50.000 A victim of systemic alienation.
00:10:53.000 And so we have to decriminalize trying to join ISIS, and we have to treat them as though society is responsible for their activities.
00:10:59.000 This is Ilhan Omar back in 2016.
00:11:00.000 Again, this is part and parcel of her anti-American view, which is that American foreign policy is egregious and evil and wrong.
00:11:05.000 It's a very Noam Chomsky view of the world.
00:11:07.000 And therefore, everybody who hates the United States and tries to join a terrorist group is actually, they may be doing something wrong, but they are a victim of American foreign policy.
00:11:14.000 And we have to have sympathy for them.
00:11:16.000 Then in 2019, March of 2019, she had a spate of wonderful tweets in 2019.
00:11:22.000 So she was tweeting against Nita Lowey.
00:11:27.000 Nita Lowey, by the way, was a Democrat.
00:11:31.000 from the state of New York.
00:11:33.000 Anita Lowey had tweeted that she didn't like that Ilhan Omar was mischaracterizing support for Israel as somehow dual loyalty.
00:11:42.000 And she then tweeted out, quote, Our democracy is built on debate, Congresswoman.
00:11:45.000 I should not be expected to have allegiance or pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on a committee.
00:11:52.000 So no one expects Ilhan Omar to declare support for A foreign country like allegiance to Israel in order to serve on a committee.
00:12:01.000 If you want to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee, I mean, obviously, in the past, the Democrats could appoint you to that.
00:12:06.000 But if you want to make a moral case, you should serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:12:08.000 It seems like a baseline thing that you probably should not sympathize with the terrorists who are trying to destroy a democratic ally of the United States.
00:12:13.000 That's a very different thing from declaring that you are somehow.
00:12:18.000 Allegiant to the state of Israel, which, of course, another anti-Semitic trope is the only reason why people would support Israel is because Israel bought them off or they have dual loyalty.
00:12:26.000 This, of course, followed hard on another tweet from hers, the famous All About the Benjamins tweet, in October of 2019.
00:12:31.000 It's all about the Benjamins.
00:12:34.000 So Kevin McCarthy in 2019, he'd threatened punishment for Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib over their criticisms of Israel, according to Glenn Greenwald, right?
00:12:40.000 Glenn Greenwald is very left-wing when it comes to Israel.
00:12:42.000 And Ilhan Omar said, it's all about the Benjamins.
00:12:45.000 It's all about the Benjamins, right?
00:12:46.000 It's the Jews who bought off Kevin McCarthy and the rest of the Republican Party.
00:12:52.000 And remember, her hatred of the Jews in Israel is not confined to that.
00:12:57.000 She also believes that America is really bad.
00:13:01.000 By the way, she compared BDS, Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, from Israel, which is a State Department-defined act of anti-Semitism, right?
00:13:06.000 The idea that Israel should be cut off from the world economy because they are the Jewish state.
00:13:11.000 Here she was suggesting that BDS is basically supporting the Tea Party in the United States.
00:13:17.000 We must support efforts to end the occupation and achieve a two-state solution.
00:13:24.000 We should condemn in the strongest terms violence that perpetuates the occupation, whether it is perpetuated by Israel, Hamas or individuals.
00:13:34.000 But if we are going to condemn violent means of resisting the occupation, we cannot also condemn non-violent means.
00:13:42.000 This week I introduced a resolution We're civil rights leader, our colleague, John Lewis and Rashida Tlaib.
00:13:52.000 Who know the importance of non-violence movements.
00:13:56.000 It recognizes the proud history of boycott movements in this country dating back to the Boston Tea Party.
00:14:02.000 Yeah, but boycotting a Democratic ally of the United States is basically the same thing as the Boston Tea Party according to Ilhan Omar.
00:14:08.000 This of course was the same year that she declared that Israel was very much akin to the Nazis.
00:14:16.000 Essentially.
00:14:18.000 She suggested also that the United States and Israel are kind of like the Taliban.
00:14:23.000 That was a solid one.
00:14:25.000 She tweeted this out.
00:14:26.000 She tweeted out, quote, We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity.
00:14:33.000 This is in 2021.
00:14:34.000 We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the US, Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan and the Taliban.
00:14:41.000 Well, I mean, I wish that for Ilhan Omar they were because she seems to have significantly more sympathy for Hamas than she does for Israel.
00:14:59.000 And she seems to have significantly more sympathy for particular regimes in the Middle East than she does for the United States when it comes to their human rights records.
00:15:06.000 And she has a lot to say about the United States' human rights record and virtually nothing to say.
00:15:10.000 about particular countries in the Middle East.
00:15:12.000 And again, this is Samuel Haen Omar, who downplayed 9-11 very famously.
00:15:16.000 Here she was doing that.
00:15:17.000 CARE was founded after 9-11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.
00:15:32.000 Some people did something.
00:15:33.000 That's why CARE was founded.
00:15:34.000 It's because some people did something.
00:15:35.000 You remember that one.
00:15:36.000 And then she said, well, it's taken out of context.
00:15:39.000 No, I mean, what you meant is what you meant, which is that a thing happened and then people all over started to lose civil.
00:15:44.000 But the thing that happened is sort of the issue.
00:15:46.000 So Ilhan Omar, terrible person, Jew hater, hates Israel, very anti-American in her perspective about the United States also.
00:15:54.000 Very good reasons to kick her off foreign affairs.
00:15:56.000 By the way, Democrats used to acknowledge that she was a real problem, like five seconds ago.
00:16:01.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:16:02.000 First, if the past couple of years have taught us anything, it's that in a crisis, whether it's a global pandemic or a natural disaster, even the basics get really hard to come by.
00:16:09.000 Remember the early days of COVID when you couldn't even find toilet paper?
00:16:12.000 Well, you need to be prepared for anything.
00:16:14.000 My new partners at Jace Medical are here to help.
00:16:16.000 Jace Medical helps you get a long-term supply of prescription medication, Their mission is to empower you to be better medically prepared.
00:16:22.000 A great way to start prepping is with the JACE case.
00:16:24.000 It's a pack of five different courses of antibiotics you can use to treat a whole host of bacterial illnesses, including UTIs, respiratory infections, sinusitis, skin infections, and more.
00:16:33.000 All you have to do is fill out a simple online form, in some cases jump on a quick call with one of their board certified physicians.
00:16:37.000 From there, you can ask your physician treatment-related questions on an ongoing basis.
00:16:41.000 Now, think about how convenient this is and how useful it is.
00:16:44.000 There have been many times in the past where I've had to travel, I know for a fact I'm going to be on the plane, I'm going to get sick, it's going to affect my voice, it's going to affect my throat, and I just don't have the antibiotic on hand.
00:16:54.000 Jace's case gives me peace of mind knowing my family will have what we need if the worst happens.

00:17:07.000 The Democrats used to acknowledge that Ilhan Omar was a real problem.
00:17:12.000 They always downplayed it, obviously.
00:17:13.000 The Democrats refused a resolution to specifically condemn Ilhan Omar's antisemitism back in 2019.
00:17:18.000 Instead, they decided to pass a resolution condemning all hate.
00:17:21.000 This is all part of the Democratic rubric of Islamophobia is the same thing as antisemitism, is the same thing as racism, and so we can ignore antisemitism.
00:17:29.000 Back in 2019, Nancy Pelosi, in one of the most, I think, kind of degrading statements ever made in Congress, she suggested that the real problem here is that Ilhan Omar just doesn't understand how words work.
00:17:41.000 You want to talk about the soft bigotry of law expectations.
00:17:43.000 If I suggested that a woman of color who is Muslim just doesn't understand how the English language works, that would be considered rather bigoted.
00:17:50.000 Nancy Pelosi said it at the time, and this was a defense.
00:17:53.000 The incident that happened was, I don't think our colleague is anti-Semitic.
00:17:59.000 I think she Has a different experience in the use of words, doesn't understand that some of them are fraught with meaning that she didn't realize.
00:18:08.000 Didn't realize didn't different experience in the use of words.
00:18:10.000 Then it was like a couple weeks later, she said more anti-Semitic stuff.
00:18:13.000 Adam Schiff, back in February of 2019, he put out a statement saying, quote, I was deeply dismayed to see Representative Omar's comments on Twitter yesterday in which he echoed longstanding anti-Semitic tropes about Jews obtaining influence through money.
00:18:23.000 By the way, the way that this usually works is that an anti-Semitic trope is when a left winger says something anti-Semitic.
00:18:29.000 Then it's just a trope.
00:18:31.000 If a right-winger says it, then it's just anti-Semitism.
00:18:33.000 If a left-winger says it, it's a trope.
00:18:34.000 Anti-Semitism has no place in the halls of Congress or civil society, said Adam Schiff back in 2019.
00:18:39.000 Now he's appearing on national television next to Ilhan Omar and looking awkward while she explains that she just doesn't understand words.
00:18:47.000 You'll remember that Ilhan Omar was actually condemned by members of her own party.
00:18:53.000 Well now, of course, she's been kicked off the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:18:57.000 It is hilarious how transparent the Democrats are.
00:18:58.000 So the Democrats put out a resolution this week.
00:19:02.000 It was a resolution, quote, They did it this week because they wanted Ilhan Omar to sign it.
00:19:10.000 So Ilhan Omar signed it so that she can now claim that she's not anti-Israel.
00:19:14.000 I don't believe you, lady.
00:19:15.000 I don't.
00:19:16.000 And there is literally no reason to believe you.
00:19:18.000 At all.
00:19:19.000 As in none.
00:19:20.000 Okay, so the reaction by the Democrats to Ilhan Omar being kicked off of Foreign Affairs is so telling.
00:19:25.000 Instead of the Democrats basically saying, okay, we understand what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
00:19:31.000 We should be able to pick our own members and that was a mistake.
00:19:34.000 They can't do that because they're the ones who started this fight.
00:19:37.000 Instead of doing that, they are now claiming, of course, that the American people are being deserved by not having a person who hates America's foreign policy and place in the world, a person who despises America's ally Israel, and a person who hates Jews.
00:19:49.000 Instead of, you know, suggesting any reason why this person might want to change their viewpoint, instead it's a disservice to the American people not to have this person on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, according to the world's worst press secretary, Corinne Jean-Pierre.
00:20:02.000 She has apologized for her comments she made in the past.
00:20:05.000 I think she most recently did an extensive interview about this on Sunday, I believe on CNN, and has been vocal about condemning anti-Semitism as well as affirming our strong alliance and important partnership with Israel.
00:20:20.000 Look, the way that we see this, it's a political stunt, much like House Republicans' unjust removal of other leading Democrats from key committees in recent weeks, and it is a disservice to the American people.
00:20:32.000 Disservice to the American people.
00:20:33.000 She apologized.
00:20:34.000 My ass she apologized.
00:20:36.000 She went on national TV and she said she just didn't understand that there were quote unquote tropes about Jews and money.
00:20:41.000 Really?
00:20:42.000 Did you not understand that?
00:20:43.000 Is that the case?
00:20:44.000 You have a degree in political science from university.
00:20:47.000 Do you not?
00:20:48.000 You serve in Congress, do you not?
00:20:50.000 I have serious doubts about that.
00:20:52.000 Like, real doubts.
00:20:53.000 As in, you're a liar.
00:20:55.000 Congenitally, about these particular issues.
00:20:57.000 And you just lie consistently.
00:20:59.000 And never-endingly.
00:21:00.000 Okay, so, the people who are really mad were the members of the squad.
00:21:04.000 And their excuse, of course, the members of the squad, is that everybody is targeting Ilhan Omar because she's black.
00:21:10.000 Which screams of the soft bigotry of low expectations once again.
00:21:15.000 Over and over, it's the same sort of thing.
00:21:17.000 You're allowed to be as anti-Semitic and Jew-hating as you want, so long as you support Black Lives Matter.
00:21:21.000 You're allowed to be as anti-Semitic and Jew-hating as you want, so long as you are a Marxist a la Jeremy Corbyn or Bernie Sanders.
00:21:27.000 You're allowed to scream about how the Jews are like the Nazis, so long as you are a Muslim who comes from Somalia.
00:21:35.000 So here is Rashida Tlaib getting very, very mad.
00:21:40.000 The GOP is now doing what it is best at.
00:21:44.000 Weaponizing hate against a black, beautiful Muslim woman.
00:21:49.000 Congresswoman Omar's lived experience as a refugee and a childhood survivor of war should be welcomed on this committee.
00:21:56.000 It is needed.
00:21:58.000 When you can't pass any bills that actually improve the people's lives, they turn Congress into a place of fear-mongering hate.
00:22:08.000 I know Congressman Omar will not be silenced!
00:22:11.000 And to Congressman Omar, I am so sorry, Seth, that our country has failed you today!
00:22:20.000 That lady has a Palestinian flag right outside of her office, and she had a map in her office that literally got rid of Israel.
00:22:27.000 It just had a giant post-it that said Palestine on Israel.
00:22:30.000 That is Rashida Tlaib, another flaming anti-Semite inside the squad, which seems to be filled with flaming anti-Semites.
00:22:36.000 It's about it.
00:22:37.000 She's a black, beautiful woman.
00:22:39.000 Oh, really?
00:22:40.000 Is that what it's about?
00:22:41.000 That she's a black, beautiful woman?
00:22:42.000 Is that really what it's about?
00:22:43.000 Because I noticed that there are a lot of other black Congress people who didn't get kicked off their committees yesterday.
00:22:48.000 Many of them are female.
00:22:49.000 Maxine Waters, who is maybe the most corrupt person in Congress, was not kicked off of her committee.
00:22:54.000 But Rashida Tlaib, it's about these black, you know.
00:22:57.000 Intersectionality is not a defense to being a garbage human.
00:23:01.000 It is not a defense.
00:23:03.000 But for the left, it is.
00:23:04.000 It is because the intersectionality is the only thing that matters.
00:23:06.000 And of course, they agree with the fact that Ilhan Omar hates Israel and hates the Jews and is anti-American in her foreign policy.
00:23:12.000 Hey, wait till we get to AOC in just a second, because it truly is a star.
00:23:15.000 I mean, AOC went into, like, a full dance.
00:23:19.000 Like, she's literally di- It's amazing.
00:23:21.000 We'll get to that in just one second first.
00:23:24.000 Everything that's going on in politics may make you lose sleep.
00:23:26.000 I'll tell you another thing that's making me lose sleep.
00:23:27.000 So I have a lot of things in my life that are making me lose sleep right now.
00:23:30.000 My wife is pregnant with our fourth child.
00:23:32.000 We got a dog, which means that I have to wake up like in the middle of the night to take the dog out.
00:23:36.000 I've got work.
00:23:37.000 I mean, there's just a lot going on right now.
00:23:39.000 This means that when I lay my head on my mattress, that mattress must be covered with a bull and branch sheet.
00:23:44.000 That's the only way I'm falling asleep.
00:23:46.000 Fulham branch sheets are made from the finest 100% organic cotton threads on earth.
00:23:49.000 Their signature hem sheets were made with threads so luxurious, three U.S.

00:23:53.000 Fulham branch sheets actually soften with every wash cycle.

00:24:02.000 You're not going to want to return them.

00:24:07.000 We only do Bowl and Branch for all my kids, for me, for my wife.
00:24:10.000 I don't know a better endorsement than that.
00:24:12.000 It makes a great Valentine's Day gift, by the way.
00:24:14.000 Get 15% off your first set of sheets, plus free shipping when you use promo code Shapiro at bowlandbranch.com.
00:24:19.000 That's bowlandbranch, B-O-L-L-A-N-D, branch.com, promo code Shapiro.
00:24:26.000 The most dramatic, it was kind of an audition, I guess, for a part, for a lot of the Democrats who were getting up and defending Ilhan Omar yesterday.
00:24:34.000 They're auditioning for, they're all theater kids, so they're all auditioning for a part in Annie or something.
00:24:40.000 And that meant the star theater kid, of all theater kids, you know, a woman who holds her hands behind her back to suggest that she's being arrested and detained.
00:24:48.000 A woman who goes to an empty parking lot and then Looks into a camera wearing an all-white outfit and weeps.
00:24:56.000 She got very into this.
00:24:58.000 If you watch this clip with the sound off, it appears as though she is performing either Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory I want the world.
00:25:09.000 I want the whole world.
00:25:11.000 Or she's performing.
00:25:13.000 And I'm telling you, I'm not going from Dreamgirls.
00:25:15.000 Either one is a possibility.
00:25:17.000 And I am telling you, I'm not going.
00:25:19.000 OK, so here is AOC, theater kid, dancing, jumping up and down, slamming her notepad on the podium because her friend Ilhan Omar will still be serving in Congress, but will not have access to as much classified information on the Foreign Affairs Committee because she's a terrible person.
00:25:34.000 And in the background, you'll see Cori Bush.
00:25:36.000 Just nodding along, man.
00:25:37.000 Nodding along.
00:25:38.000 By the way, this would also be deemed, if this were a white Republican congressperson doing this, this would be deemed cultural appropriation.
00:25:44.000 There's no question about it, given the stylistic choices that AOC is making during the speech.
00:25:48.000 Here is AOC, theater child, getting ready to perform her greatest number yet.
00:25:54.000 I think one of the things that we should talk about here is also one of the disgusting legacies after 9-11 has been the targeting and racism against Muslim Americans throughout the United States of America.
00:26:05.000 And this is an extension of that legacy.
00:26:07.000 Consistency?
00:26:08.000 There is nothing consistent.
00:26:09.000 With the Republican Party's continued attack, except for the racism and incitement of violence against women of color in this body.
00:26:17.000 I had a member of the Republican caucus threaten my life and you all and the Republican caucus rewarded him.
00:26:23.000 This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America.
00:26:28.000 Don't tell me because I didn't get a single apology.
00:26:31.000 Time has expired.
00:26:31.000 My life was threatened.
00:26:33.000 Thank you.
00:26:33.000 Thank you.
00:26:34.000 Whoops.
00:26:34.000 Oh, man.
00:26:35.000 What?
00:26:36.000 Amazing work there from AOC.
00:26:45.000 Amazing.
00:26:46.000 She didn't get the part.
00:26:48.000 The part unfortunately went to Cori Bush, but AOC is She's amazing.
00:26:55.000 She's slamming her... I've never seen AOC quite so animated over anything except for defending her friend, the rabid anti-Semite.
00:27:01.000 She makes a habit of defending rabid anti-Semites quite a lot, doesn't she?
00:27:05.000 From Jeremy Corbyn to Ilhan Omar to Rashida Tlaib.
00:27:08.000 If we can judge you to a certain extent by the friends you keep, if all of your friends have a particular ilk, it does suggest something about maybe your own feelings on a particular subject.
00:27:17.000 And then there was Cori Bush.
00:27:18.000 So Cori Bush, the BLM congresswoman from Missouri, I call her a BLM congresswoman because that's literally how she became a congressperson.
00:27:23.000 She was a very active member of BLM.
00:27:25.000 She was a lead activist in the Black Lives Matter movement.
00:27:28.000 She also suggests that this is all about Ilhan Omar being a black woman of Somali origin who is a Muslim.
00:27:35.000 And again, the rule here is that you get, as long as you are all those things, you can basically just hate on the Jews, which is convenient.
00:27:43.000 Republicans are waging a blatantly Islamophobic and racist attack on Congresswoman Omar.
00:27:50.000 And I've said it before, I will say it again.
00:27:53.000 The white supremacy happening is unbelievable.
00:27:56.000 This is despicable.
00:27:58.000 It is Congresswoman Omar who has been harassed at her job for simply existing as a Muslim woman in Congress.
00:28:04.000 It is she who has been attacked by a member of this body, ridiculing her as a potential terrorist for simply existing.
00:28:12.000 as a Muslim woman in this Congress.
00:28:15.000 You know what's weird is that there's another Muslim congressperson.
00:28:19.000 He's Andre Carson, he's from Indiana.
00:28:21.000 Have you ever heard of him?
00:28:23.000 You have not, have you?
00:28:24.000 Maybe the reason you haven't heard of that Muslim congressperson is because he doesn't spend all day, every day being an anti-Semitic jackass.
00:28:29.000 Maybe that would be the reason.
00:28:31.000 He's not featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine doing that sort of stuff.
00:28:35.000 Maybe that's it.
00:28:37.000 But again, points to Cori Bush.
00:28:38.000 That's a much more subtle performance.
00:28:40.000 AOC is extremely loud.
00:28:41.000 I mean, she's chewing the scenery, man.
00:28:43.000 And she's Patti LuPone out there.
00:28:45.000 And then you got Cori Bush.
00:28:46.000 And Cori Bush, you know, I don't want to say it's the most amazing performance, but she comes in a little more subtle.
00:28:51.000 If you have to cast the part, it goes to Cori Bush.
00:28:53.000 There's a little bit more soul there.
00:28:55.000 And a little bit more heart.
00:28:57.000 That's really what you're looking for in a theater kid.
00:29:00.000 Representative Gregory Meeks, he tried to do the same thing.
00:29:02.000 He says they're removing her because she's black and a Muslim.
00:29:04.000 That's really what this is about.
00:29:05.000 Again, no, they're removing her because she is a vicious anti-Semite.
00:29:09.000 This is not all that difficult.
00:29:12.000 A blatant double standard is being applied here.
00:29:17.000 Something just doesn't add up.
00:29:20.000 And what is the difference between Rep Omar and these members?
00:29:23.000 Could it be the way that you look?
00:29:25.000 Could it be her religious practices?
00:29:29.000 Okay, what I love about this particular argument, and it's an argument you're going to hear in a second made by Hakeem Jeffries, which is that why are the Republicans using turnabout as fair play?
00:29:36.000 If they really opposed anti-Semitism, wouldn't they keep MTG off of the committees?
00:29:40.000 So first of all, MTG said a dumb thing about Jewish space lasers.
00:29:43.000 She hasn't made it like the defining characteristic of her career to hate Jews.
00:29:48.000 When she went to an event like a moron with Nick Fuentes, she immediately denounced Nick Fuentes and moved away from it.
00:29:53.000 She hasn't been anti-Israel rabid Anti-Semite her entire career.
00:29:57.000 That's been Ilhan Omar's defining characteristic in politics.
00:30:01.000 Hey, so that is not a justification for MTG's comments.
00:30:04.000 Also, it is worth noting here that the Democrats were like, it's a double standard.
00:30:08.000 It's a double standard.
00:30:09.000 They're leaving MTG and Paul Gosar and some of the worst people in Congress on these committees, and they're removing Ilhan Omar.
00:30:13.000 It's because she's black.
00:30:14.000 I have a question.
00:30:15.000 I have a question.
00:30:16.000 You're now equating them, right?
00:30:17.000 You are equating them.
00:30:18.000 You're saying that Ilhan Omar is akin to Paul Gosar and MTG.
00:30:22.000 You removed Paul Gosar and MTG from the committees when you were in charge.
00:30:25.000 Why didn't you remove Ilhan Omar?
00:30:29.000 Why?
00:30:30.000 Could it be because she's a Democrat?
00:30:32.000 And because you actually agree with those things?
00:30:33.000 And it was a convenient bugbear for you?
00:30:36.000 It was a convenient club for you to hit Republicans and try to suggest that anti-Semitism was exclusive to the Republican Party while the biggest anti-Semite in Congress, the two biggest, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, sit in your caucus?
00:30:47.000 Here's Hakeem Jeffries trying to do this routine.
00:30:50.000 Ilhan Omar has apologized.
00:30:52.000 She has indicated that she'll learn Okay, fine.
00:30:56.000 Let's say that it is.
00:30:57.000 is working to build bridges because we believe in building bridges, not walls.
00:31:01.000 Oh, give me a break.
00:31:02.000 Building bridges with the Jewish community, including leaders right here in the United States Congress.
00:31:10.000 Is Ilhan Omar perfect?
00:31:11.000 No, none of us are.
00:31:13.000 So this is not about accountability.
00:31:15.000 It's about political revenge.
00:31:19.000 Oh, it's about political revenge.
00:31:21.000 OK, fine.
00:31:22.000 Let's say that it is.
00:31:24.000 Who brought that upon you?
00:31:25.000 Weren't you the guys who started this fight?
00:31:27.000 Weren't you the ones who did this?
00:31:29.000 It was you, was it not?
00:31:31.000 And also, again, if you're claiming the Republicans are hypocrites for not taking their worst members off their committees.
00:31:37.000 First of all, Republicans have actually taken members off their committees.
00:31:39.000 Steve King comes to mind from Iowa.
00:31:41.000 When is the last time Democrats took a member off a committee?
00:31:44.000 Cynthia McKinney in like 2003.
00:31:47.000 So there's that.
00:31:48.000 But I noticed that your complaint is not that Republicans aren't taking MTG and Paul Gosar off their committees.
00:31:53.000 Your complaint is that they are taking Ilhan Omar off her committee.
00:31:55.000 So you're not concerned about anti-Semitism at all.
00:31:58.000 You just want to defend your girl.
00:31:59.000 All right, that's your prerogative, but stop pretending it's high-minded.
00:32:02.000 I think maybe the best thing yesterday was the audio of Democrats screaming in pain.
00:32:08.000 The sound of a million voices suddenly going silent as Alderaan is destroyed here.
00:32:15.000 On adoption of the resolution, those in favor say aye.
00:32:21.000 Those in favor say no.
00:32:23.000 It's the opinion of the chair that the ayes have it and the resolution is agreed to.
00:32:44.000 Overflowing.
00:32:46.000 It is only the magic of the cap of this leftist Sears tumbler that keeps the tears contained there.
00:32:50.000 No!
00:32:51.000 There's nothing more delicious than you guys screaming no at the moon.
00:32:54.000 And by the way, a fairly minor thing.
00:32:57.000 I'm sorry, Ilhan Omar was not kicked out of Congress.
00:32:58.000 She was not impeached.
00:32:59.000 She still gets to have her say.
00:33:01.000 She's going to be there annoying everyone for quite a while, it appears.
00:33:05.000 We'll get to more of that in just one second plus Democrats rejecting a resolution to condemn like the worst excesses of socialism up to and including mass murder.
00:33:12.000 Get to that in a moment.
00:33:13.000 Now, as I've been telling you, I'm lacking sleep right now, like really lacking sleep.

00:33:23.000 And I went to bed late because we're doing work.

00:34:25.000 These are all run by wokesters.
00:34:26.000 They want to take your money and then use them to make commercials about how your daughter needs to shave her chin.

00:34:39.000 It is 40% off all razors.
00:34:40.000 Why the discount?
00:34:41.000 Well, because one year ago, Joe Biden tried to force a VAX mandate on private employers, some 85 million Americans.
00:34:47.000 The Daily Wire, we told him where to stick it.
00:34:49.000 We sued the federal government and we won.
00:34:51.000 After a 6-3 ruling in our favor at the Supreme Court, the mandate was dead.
00:34:54.000 Together, you and we, we kicked the government's ass.
00:34:57.000 It's on the first anniversary of this excellent victory for all Americans.
00:35:00.000 Daily Wire CEO and God King Jeremy Boring has issued a special decree on the razors that bear his name.
00:35:05.000 40% off all razors.
00:35:07.000 This means You can get a Precision 5 razor with flip-back trimmer, shave cream, post-shave balm, extra blades, and a handy travel case for just $35.99.
00:35:12.000 That is a saving of $24.
00:35:14.000 The Biden admin and its totalitarian cronies, they were cut down and now we rejoice by drinking their tears and shaving.
00:35:21.000 So now is your last chance to get 40% off all Jeremy's razors by going to jeremysrazors.com today.
00:35:25.000 That's jeremysrazors.com.
00:35:26.000 By the way, they also have all of the beard oil and the shampoo and the body wash and everything else that you need.
00:35:33.000 Head on over to jeremysrazors.com.
00:35:36.000 Well, Ilhan Omar, she's been kicked off her foreign affairs committee, but that actually allows for more of a platform in a certain way.
00:35:41.000 So for all the talk about she's being deplatformed, the reality is that she's getting a lot of attention and she loves it.
00:35:45.000 You can see that she's kind of enjoying it.
00:35:47.000 So yesterday she gave a speech in which she said, I will continue to speak up because representation matters!
00:35:53.000 Oh, more intersectionality.
00:35:54.000 This little girl was me.
00:35:55.000 Look at look at look at who I am intersectionally.
00:35:58.000 OK, so I'm of the view we shouldn't look at your skin color or your religion.
00:36:02.000 We should look at the fact that you're a flaming Jew hater.
00:36:04.000 That's the thing we should probably look at.
00:36:05.000 But she she she's a representative.
00:36:08.000 She represents intersectionally with the intersectionalism with so much intersectionality.
00:36:14.000 Here we go.
00:36:15.000 We say there is nothing objective about policymaking.
00:36:20.000 We all inject our perspective, our point of views, our lived experiences, and the voices of our constituents.
00:36:28.000 That's what democracy is about.
00:36:31.000 So I will continue to speak up.
00:36:34.000 Because representation matters.
00:36:36.000 I will continue to speak up for little kids who wonder who's speaking up for them.
00:36:42.000 I will continue to speak up for families around the world who are seeking justice.
00:36:47.000 She's going to speak up for families around the world who are seeking justice.
00:36:50.000 I thought that she was an American representative.
00:36:52.000 Which is kind of fascinating.
00:36:54.000 Also, she's right.
00:36:55.000 Many around the world are going to be sad that this is happening to her.
00:36:58.000 She actually says, my leadership will be celebrated around.
00:37:01.000 I'm sure it will be celebrated in very specific places around the world.
00:37:04.000 The places that tend not to like the Jews so much.
00:37:07.000 Here is Ilhan Omar.
00:37:10.000 I didn't come to Congress to be silent.
00:37:12.000 I came to Congress to be their voice.
00:37:15.000 And my leadership and voice will not be diminished if I am not on this committee for one term.
00:37:23.000 My voice will get louder and stronger and my leadership will be celebrated around the world as it has been.
00:37:31.000 My leadership will be celebrated around the world.
00:37:32.000 She sounds like an evil dictator from a movie.
00:37:34.000 And my leadership will be celebrated around the world!
00:37:38.000 As it has been.
00:37:40.000 So how do you still...
00:37:41.000 Celebrate around the world.
00:37:42.000 Who's celebrating your leadership?
00:37:43.000 Well, actually, I do know the answer to this one.
00:37:45.000 Who's celebrating Ilhan Omar's leadership around the world?
00:37:48.000 I noticed it's Iran.
00:37:50.000 They put out a statement today, quote, Parliamentary tyranny in America to boycott the voice of the critical female representative.
00:37:57.000 The dismissal of Ilhan Omar, a black Muslim critic of Israel's apartheid regime from the Congress Foreign Relations Committee, is an indicator of the practical commitment of the American regime to the slogan of women, life, freedom, a slogan for interfering in Iran's internal affairs.
00:38:11.000 So she does have her defenders.
00:38:12.000 They just happen to be terror regimes like Iran.
00:38:16.000 Oh, yeah.
00:38:16.000 And members of the squad.
00:38:18.000 So there's that.
00:38:19.000 Speaking of Democrats showing their true colors.
00:38:21.000 So yesterday in a rather clever piece of legislation, Representative Maria Salazar from Florida, she announced a resolution announcing the horrors of socialism.
00:38:32.000 This resolution says the following quote, whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships.
00:38:42.000 Whereas socialism has repeatedly led to famine and mass murder and the killing of over 100 million people worldwide. Whereas many of the greatest crimes in history were committed by socialist ideologues including Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot, Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un, Daniel Ortega, Hugo Chavez, and Nicolas Maduro.
00:38:58.000 Whereas tens of millions died in the Bolshevik Revolution.
00:39:00.000 Whereas between 15 million and 55 million people starved to death in the wake of famine and devastation launched by the Great Leap Forward in China.
00:39:08.000 Whereas the socialist experiment in Cambodia led to the killing field, etc.
00:39:10.000 And it just goes on and on about all the evils of socialism.
00:39:14.000 And then it concludes, resolved, the Congress denounces socialism in all its forms and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States.
00:39:23.000 And this thing did pass with 328 votes.
00:39:27.000 86 Democrats voted no.
00:39:29.000 86 Democrats voted no on this thing.
00:39:30.000 By the way, Hakeem Jeffries voted yes, because he's not an idiot.
00:39:33.000 Nancy Pelosi voted yes.
00:39:35.000 Now, Hakeem Jeffries did say that this resolution is bad.
00:39:37.000 He said, it's bad because it might undermine the democratic agenda.
00:39:40.000 Yeah, you're telling on yourself, dude.
00:39:42.000 They're bringing to the floor of the House of Representatives today a resolution on socialism.
00:39:48.000 To condemn some dictators that we all condemn.
00:39:53.000 Okay.
00:39:54.000 But understand.
00:39:55.000 What's the problem?
00:39:56.000 The goal of this phony, fake, and fraudulent resolution It's just to somehow provide cover for extreme MAGA Republicans to try to undermine an agenda that is designed to lift up the health, safety, and well-being of the American people.
00:40:14.000 You guys are telling on yourselves.
00:40:16.000 You can't condemn socialism because it might undermine your agenda.
00:40:18.000 Yeah, that's exactly Representative Salazar's point.
00:40:20.000 It's clever stuff because, and one of the reasons why Democrats did poorly in the last couple of election cycles is because Democrats kept saying the word progressive.
00:40:27.000 Progressive in Spanish.
00:40:29.000 My understanding is when translated is involved with socialism, essentially.
00:40:34.000 And so when those ads ran in Spanish in places like Florida, a lot of people who are expatriates from socialistic, communistic countries are like, no, don't want any part of that.
00:40:42.000 Not interested in that at all.
00:40:44.000 Maxine Waters condemned the resolution as well, which is weird.
00:40:48.000 She's one of the greatest beneficiaries of capitalism there is.
00:40:54.000 She's been doing great under capitalism, mainly because she's unbelievably corrupt.
00:40:59.000 So Maxine Waters said, quote, this resolution is instead as divisive as it is insulting to the American people.
00:41:04.000 It's trying to suggest Social Security, Medicare, even fire departments are anti-American.
00:41:07.000 I didn't realize that those are socialist.
00:41:09.000 Social Security, Medicare and the fire department.
00:41:12.000 So usually the definition of a public good is something that is non-rivalrous and non-excludable.
00:41:19.000 That is the definition of a public good.
00:41:20.000 That doesn't mean it's socialism.
00:41:21.000 Fire departments are non-rivalrous and non-excludable.
00:41:25.000 Social Security, Medicare, they're supposed to be you pay in, you get out, right?
00:41:27.000 That is the basic idea of these things.
00:41:31.000 But, you know, again, lumping that stuff in with socialism, you guys are the ones doing that, which is why you're condemning the resolution.
00:41:36.000 You could just say, we condemn socialism, also we're in favor of Medicare.
00:41:39.000 It's not that hard, which is why many Democrats voted in favor of this thing, but it shows you where their heads are at.
00:41:45.000 This very often, by the way, is how Democrats are doing policy these days.
00:41:48.000 And the way that Democrats seem to be doing policies is that they propose a bunch of policy, and then the minute that the consequences of the policy become clear, they run screaming from it.
00:41:56.000 So, to take another example, Democrats keep talking about reforming the police, right?
00:42:01.000 First, it was defunding the police.
00:42:02.000 Now, they're no longer defunding.
00:42:03.000 Now, they want to reform the police.
00:42:04.000 But they have a problem.
00:42:05.000 If they talk about reforming the police, Republicans might actually take them up on it and then propose legislation they don't actually like.
00:42:11.000 So, one of the lead headlines at Politico last night was, quote, Dems fret policing talks will be tangled with Tim Scott's presidential hopes.
00:42:18.000 They care so much about you that they need to reform the police, but if that helps Tim Scott, man, they are out.
00:42:23.000 They are out.
00:42:25.000 According to Politico, Democrats are signaling they're willing to work with Republicans on a new policing bill after the death of Tyree Nichols.
00:42:30.000 Who their GOP partners might be is a trickier question.
00:42:33.000 Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, his party's past lead policing negotiator, is now a possible presidential contender in 2024, adding new potential political risk to an issue already riddled with pitfalls.
00:42:42.000 Wait, I thought that they wanted solutions.
00:42:43.000 I thought they wanted to work across the aisle.
00:42:44.000 I thought it shouldn't matter who you're negotiating with so long as the deal that gets done is good.
00:42:48.000 Or maybe you're political hacked and everything is an opportunity for political benefit for you.
00:42:53.000 Democrats are still eyeing Scott as a partner, indicating they might be open to amending a sweeping enforcement bill named after George Floyd, but they're wary of the effect Scott's aspirations will have on cross-party talks.
00:43:04.000 So, they are not inviting Scott to take part in the negotiations.
00:43:07.000 They are very much afraid that Tim Scott might actually be able to benefit from those negotiations, and so I guess they're going to put forward a worse bill.
00:43:14.000 Slow clap once again for the altruistic, forward-thinking Democrats.
00:43:19.000 Okay, meanwhile, the Democrats have some good news on the economy and some bad news on the economy.
00:43:23.000 The good news on the economy is the jobs report came in super hot.
00:43:27.000 According to the Labor Department, the employment picture started off 2023 on a stunningly strong note, with nonfarm payrolls posting their strongest gains since July of 2022.
00:43:35.000 Nonfarm payrolls increased by 517,000 for January.
00:43:39.000 That's above the Dow Jones estimate of 187,000.
00:43:41.000 So it basically tripled it.
00:43:43.000 The unemployment rate fell to 3.4% versus the estimate for 3.6%.
00:43:48.000 Some of that is going to be a lot of people who are going back into the workforce.
00:43:51.000 We've known for a while that there are a lot of job openings, like way more job openings than there were job seekers.
00:43:56.000 The fact that the hiring is now happening means that people are feeling the pinch in their pockets and now they're going back to work.
00:44:01.000 And so they're rushing back to work while the jobs are still out there and while they can get them.
00:44:06.000 What I would imagine is that this is going to be sort of an overcorrection, that what you're going to see in the next few months is that economic stagnation that everybody is sort of talking about.
00:44:13.000 Mohammed El-Erian of Aliantis has a stunning U.S.
00:44:16.000 jobs report highlighting the strength of the labor market and its complexities.
00:44:19.000 Jobs rose by 517,000 for January, compared to the consensus forecast of 189,000.
00:44:23.000 The puzzle, wage growth, came in, as expected, 0.3%.
00:44:29.000 Presumably, this means if the job market is still coming in this hot, that the inflation rate is still a little too high and you're going to see the Federal Reserve get a little bit more aggressive with regard to all of this.
00:44:41.000 With all of that said, obviously this very much helps Joe Biden going into his State of the Union address.
00:44:45.000 The bad news for Joe Biden is that the American people are still pretty glum about the economy because they're not seeing the impact of this as broadly as they'd like to see it, and they're very worried about the future.
00:44:54.000 As money runs out and as these companies start to see a dip in consumer confidence, what exactly is going to happen?
00:45:00.000 Are some of these new hires going to be unemployed in three months, in other words?
00:45:03.000 According to New Gallup polls, the overall quality of life in the country, 65% of people say that they are content.
00:45:10.000 An opportunity for a person to get ahead by working hard, that 61% say that they are satisfied with that.
00:45:15.000 But those are well below the record highs of 89% for quality of life in 2001 and 77% for opportunity in 2002.
00:45:18.000 of life in 2001 and 77% for opportunity in 2002. When it comes to the size and power of the federal government, only 33% approve. When it comes to the size and influence of major corporations, only 27% approve.
00:45:34.000 When it comes to the way income and wealth are distributed in the United States, only 24% approve.
00:45:39.000 So a lot of economic dissatisfaction right now in the nation.
00:45:44.000 And when it comes to many specific areas, it seems as though the numbers are going down, not the other way around, for Joe Biden.
00:45:52.000 That is particularly true when it comes to federal taxes.
00:45:55.000 Only 26% of Americans are in favor of the way that federal taxes are being done right now.
00:45:59.000 Only 25% of Americans say that they are satisfied with the state of the economy right now.
00:46:06.000 And these are not amazing numbers for Joe Biden.
00:46:07.000 So what that means is that there is a lot of room for a dip, still, if the economy starts to go the other way.
00:46:12.000 Now, obviously, you want to root for a good economy.
00:46:14.000 It helps a lot of people if the economy is good.
00:46:18.000 But what this is really going to do is it's going to embolden Joe Biden and the Democrats to push for broke.
00:46:22.000 And for Joe Biden to continue to push things like student loan relief, meaning like just Breaking the law and trying to release student loans or spending trillions of more dollars or all of the rest.
00:46:31.000 You know, trying to negotiate hardball with the debt ceiling instead of negotiating some sort of deal so he can blame Republicans.
00:46:37.000 The problem for Joe Biden continues to be that the man is just not good at speaking.
00:46:41.000 I mean, he never was any great shakes on it, but now he's just not even he's not with us anymore.
00:46:47.000 Here was Joe Biden yesterday saying the most transphobic thing I've ever heard, frankly, from the president of the United States.
00:46:51.000 I'll assume he did it by accident, but yeah, it's weird.
00:46:56.000 More than half the women in my cabinet, more than half the people in my cabinet, more than half the women in my administration are women.
00:47:03.000 More than half of the women in his administration are women?
00:47:05.000 That's so transphobic.
00:47:06.000 That means some of the women in his administration are not women.
00:47:09.000 I assume he means the biological men.
00:47:11.000 Like his assistant secretary of health and human services is actually a man.
00:47:14.000 More than half the women in his administration are not women.
00:47:18.000 One of the things I like best about the Biden administration is that it's basically just grumpy old men.
00:47:22.000 He brings back in Bill Clinton yesterday, and they get confused about their notes.
00:47:26.000 It's a weird clip, but I have a bit of news on this one.
00:47:31.000 Somewhere I'm supposed to have some notes here.
00:47:36.000 These are the President Biden's notes.
00:47:38.000 Why don't you just deliver mine?
00:47:40.000 Why don't I just give your speech here?
00:47:42.000 And you can get mine.
00:47:46.000 I found it!
00:47:50.000 Exciting stuff.
00:47:51.000 Old men getting confused over overnotes.
00:47:53.000 I should point out here, you know how old Bill Clinton looks, right?
00:47:55.000 I mean, he looks pretty bad, Bill Clinton.
00:47:57.000 He's aging pretty rapidly here.
00:47:59.000 Bill Clinton is four years younger than the current president of the United States.
00:48:02.000 He left office in 2000.
00:48:05.000 He left office 23 years ago, and he is four years younger than the current president of the United States.
00:48:10.000 Yes, we may be ruled by the Aged boomers forever.
00:48:14.000 And it's gonna be just great.
00:48:16.000 Okay, time for some things I like, and then some things that I hate.
00:48:20.000 So I was looking through the best picture nominees this year, and I haven't seen all of them yet.
00:48:24.000 I have yet to see everywhere, everything, all at once, all the time.
00:48:28.000 Whatever that movie is called.
00:48:29.000 I haven't seen that one yet.
00:48:30.000 I haven't seen some of the kind of smaller movies.
00:48:33.000 Of the movies that I have seen, however, I think probably the best picture that I've seen this year That is not Top Gun Maverick, which should win Best Picture because it's not the most interesting, but most enjoyable.
00:48:44.000 The Best Picture this year was the All Quiet on the Western Front remake.
00:48:48.000 It really is quite good.
00:48:49.000 From Netflix, it's really well produced.
00:48:53.000 The footage is quite beautiful.
00:48:55.000 The acting is really good.
00:48:56.000 It takes on some complex issues about war and negotiation and how people sort of get set in their ways and then can't change.
00:49:02.000 Here's a little bit of the trailer.
00:49:04.000 Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!
00:49:28.000 Paul Bäumer?
00:49:30.000 I don't want to start yet.
00:49:34.000 And your world!
00:49:36.000 We're at the restaurant now.
00:49:42.000 The footage is great.
00:50:11.000 I mean, it's a great-looking film.
00:50:13.000 It's really effective.
00:50:15.000 And you can see that on Netflix.
00:50:17.000 Very effective film.
00:50:18.000 So if you're looking for a film to watch this weekend that is highly depressing but also a great film, All Quiet on the Western Front truly is a great film.
00:50:25.000 And it is worth the look.
00:50:26.000 Other things I like.
00:50:27.000 So there's a new study out that is basically directly from the Babylon Bee.
00:50:31.000 And it is really, really funny.
00:50:33.000 Here is the study, quote, from the UK Daily Mail.
00:50:39.000 So, I mean, that answers the question as to why Jimmy Kimmel's audience is still all masked up.
00:50:47.000 Why, when they pan the audience of The View, everybody is still wearing a mask.
00:50:50.000 I suppose that is one reason.
00:50:51.000 I mean, it's either pathological fear of life, which has now been embedded in the minds of millions of Americans who believe that they ought to be safe from literally everything in life up to and including the common cold.
00:51:02.000 Or it's people actually like covering their face because they aren't particularly good looking.
00:51:07.000 According to the UK Daily Mail, attractive people are less likely to keep wearing face masks.
00:51:11.000 In the post-COVID era, a study suggests researchers conducted three questionnaires asking people about self-perceived attractiveness and mask-wearing intentions in various scenarios.
00:51:19.000 They conclude that young and middle-aged Americans who view themselves as attractive, quote, believe wearing a mask hinders the opportunity to deliver a favorable impression to others.
00:51:26.000 On the other hand, people who don't view themselves as attractive buy into the mask-attractiveness belief, the face-covering notion that it actually enhances their looks.
00:51:35.000 Not inaccurate.
00:51:36.000 And there are some people who wear the mask looks a lot better.
00:51:38.000 Did you have that experience during COVID, by the way?
00:51:40.000 That experience where you met somebody and you dealt with them for like a lot of it.
00:51:43.000 I was in California.
00:51:44.000 Everybody was masking up for a long, for a long time.
00:51:46.000 You remember you'd be dealing with people like on a regular basis and they were all wearing masks.
00:51:51.000 And then they would remove the mask and you're like, oh, because your brain fills in the parts of the face that, by the way, this is actually one reason why people look cool in sunglasses, because your brain fills in sort of the most attractive version of the person under the sunglasses.
00:52:06.000 Maybe that, I assume that's the case for Kanye West's Balenciaga head covering or something.
00:52:11.000 And I guess if you look like a racer head and like your entire head is covered in a thing, then we can all fill in the gap or something.
00:52:16.000 But yeah, I find this one of the least actually controversial studies is that if you think that you are not that attractive, you are very much happy to be wearing a bag over your head or a mask over your face.
00:52:27.000 Not a shocker at all there.
00:52:29.000 So well done on science for now confirming common sense.
00:52:31.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.
00:52:38.000 All right, so I have been made aware of a video on YouTube that apparently is part of kind of an online trend on the TikToks and the YouTubes and it's what the kids are doing.
00:52:48.000 And there is a suggestion out there by a plastic surgery doctor that I have had lip filler, but not only lip filler, bad lip filler.
00:52:59.000 Which, I mean, again, you want to make the case that I don't look good?
00:53:02.000 I'm totally here for it.
00:53:04.000 Fine with me.
00:53:06.000 Uh, what though?
00:53:07.000 So here is, um, here is a plastic surgeon.
00:53:10.000 This video on YouTube has like two million hits.
00:53:13.000 So apparently that a lot of people are very eager to believe that I got a bad lip filler as opposed to that a particular shot of me isn't at a very flattering angle.
00:53:24.000 So apparently they think that I got lip filler.
00:53:25.000 By the way, most of the people who would be very pleased and upset that I got lip filler, I did not.
00:53:31.000 But most of the people would be very pleased are also perfectly in line with the idea that if a man gets a bunch of surgery, she's now a woman.
00:53:37.000 In any case, here is this person who isn't a very good doctor, I guess, because he can't actually identify when someone has had lip filler or not.
00:53:45.000 Here we go.
00:53:47.000 Has Ben Shapiro had filler migrate in his lower lip?
00:53:50.000 A lot of people tagged me in this video showing what they believe is migrated filler.
00:53:54.000 Take a look at this video though.
00:53:57.000 This is the beautiful Cher and you can see her lower lip looks kind of like Ben's lower lip.
00:54:02.000 Now supposedly she had an implant that migrated causing this appearance.
00:54:07.000 So is that the same with Ben?
00:54:09.000 Well, it's possible.
00:54:11.000 Uh, it isn't.
00:54:13.000 It isn't.
00:54:15.000 It's just not a very good shot of me.
00:54:18.000 I will admit, I don't think I look great in that video.
00:54:19.000 I don't think I look great in most videos, by the way.
00:54:21.000 But, um, yeah.
00:54:24.000 I'm here for the full denial.
00:54:27.000 I do not have lip filler.
00:54:28.000 I have never had lip filler.
00:54:29.000 I have no intention of having lip filler.
00:54:31.000 I'm amused that people are apparently interested in the question of whether I've had lip filler.
00:54:36.000 So for the record, I have not had Botox.
00:54:38.000 I have not had lip filler.
00:54:39.000 I am five foot nine and I weigh 158 pounds.
00:54:42.000 And no matter how many people out there tell you that I'm 5'4", I'm not.
00:54:47.000 And no matter how many people tell you that I have lip filler, I do not.
00:54:51.000 And frankly, eyes up here, guys.
00:54:56.000 Stop objectifying me.
00:54:57.000 Stop treating me like an assemblage of body parts.
00:55:00.000 I'm a human with a soul.
00:55:03.000 I'm a human with feelings.
00:55:04.000 So you stop that.
00:55:05.000 Right now, internet.
00:55:07.000 You and your lip filler obsessions.
00:55:10.000 Okay, other things that I hate today.
00:55:12.000 So, there is a trend now, and it's really been driven by the fact that the Biden administration hired essentially a fat activist in order to push bad medicine.
00:55:22.000 There is now a trend of pieces in our mainstream legacy media suggesting that medicine is fatphobic.
00:55:30.000 And that when people come into the office and they are overweight, and you tell them they need to lose weight, that this is somehow an aspect of you hating people who are obese or overweight.
00:55:39.000 No, it isn't.
00:55:41.000 Being overweight is bad for you.
00:55:42.000 The way that you reduce being overweight, unless you have a genetic condition, the way that you reduce being overweight is with caloric deficit.
00:55:50.000 Again, this is not particularly difficult stuff in concept.
00:55:52.000 It's very difficult to achieve as somebody who's had to lose weight before, you know, because I wanted to look a little bit better.
00:55:58.000 As somebody who's put on weight to gain some muscle, right?
00:56:01.000 I mean, people do this all the time.
00:56:03.000 It's not fun, right?
00:56:04.000 Going on a restrictive diet where you can't have as much sugar and as much fat is not fun.
00:56:09.000 But it is doable.
00:56:12.000 The fact that it is doable, however, is what the left really objects to.
00:56:14.000 You notice that there is a real political gloss to all of this.
00:56:16.000 You see a lot of, I don't see a lot of right-wingers who are like, yeah, man, the fat phobia thing's a real problem.
00:56:21.000 You see a lot of left-wingers doing this, and this ties into a broader rubric, which is that people are never responsible for their own problems.
00:56:26.000 It must be some sort of external factor in the universe.
00:56:28.000 So there's a piece in the Washington Post by a doctor named Charlene Obwobie.
00:56:33.000 Called, yes, doctors can fat shame.
00:56:34.000 Here's what to do about it.
00:56:36.000 Quote, my patient is in her early 30s, soft-spoken, soft-bodied, and determined.
00:56:39.000 She was diagnosed with prediabetes at a work health screening.
00:56:42.000 Diabetes and hypertension run in her family.
00:56:44.000 Her father died in his 50s from heart disease.
00:56:46.000 As her primary care physician, my role is to help her avoid a similar fate.
00:56:49.000 We talk about her goals.
00:56:50.000 She would like to avoid medications and she wants to lose weight.
00:56:53.000 I counsel her on a diet and exercise, and then schedule her for a follow-up appointment in three months.
00:56:57.000 At her next appointment, she has crestfallen and withdrawn.
00:56:59.000 She has gained seven pounds.
00:57:01.000 I print out packets with information on the Mediterranean diet, and she glances at them, defeated.
00:57:05.000 Sensing her hesitation, I suggest we start her on Metformin, a medication used to treat prediabetes, but she declines.
00:57:10.000 Weight loss is hard, I say.
00:57:11.000 She doesn't return to my clinic after that.
00:57:13.000 I think often about how I failed that patient.
00:57:15.000 How physicians fail patients like her all the time.
00:57:17.000 I have a question.
00:57:18.000 What did this physician do wrong?
00:57:20.000 The woman said, I want to lose weight and I want to do so without taking drugs.
00:57:24.000 And you recommended to her a diet that would help her lose weight.
00:57:27.000 When she came back in, knowing her priorities, you then offered her another diet to help her lose weight.
00:57:31.000 And then when she appeared hesitant, you offered her a medication that would help her lose weight.
00:57:36.000 But you did it wrong, apparently.
00:57:38.000 Why did you do it wrong?
00:57:40.000 Apparently because you're just supposed to say that it's not possible for people to lose weight.
00:57:45.000 Quote, the truth is doctors aren't taught much about nutrition or weight management.
00:57:48.000 And the lack of education means the fat phobia that persists outside the clinic is amplified within it.
00:57:53.000 One of the things that you're noticing is not the prevalence of genetic conditions that are leading to obesity in the West.
00:57:57.000 What you're noticing is that people eat a lot of crap.
00:57:59.000 That's what's actually happening in the West.
00:58:01.000 There's been a consistent uptick in the amount of obesity in American society for the past several decades.
00:58:05.000 It's not particularly a recent development.
00:58:07.000 It's been going on since basically the 1960s.
00:58:09.000 Higher caloric intake.
00:58:10.000 It's been happening in other countries as well, so it's not unique to the United States.
00:58:12.000 The answer to that is lower caloric intake.
00:58:16.000 And the suggestion that we de-stigmatize being overweight, that really is the answer.
00:58:21.000 The answer is fat positivity.
00:58:22.000 It's precisely the wrong approach.
00:58:25.000 Basic human logic.
00:58:27.000 If you wish to make things less common, you stigmatize them.
00:58:30.000 If you wish to make things more common, you de-stigmatize them.
00:58:34.000 This doesn't mean be mean to people who are overweight.
00:58:36.000 It doesn't mean that you can't be nice and comforting and sympathetic to people who want to lose weight.
00:58:41.000 It does mean that encouraging them to lose weight is not an act of evil.
00:58:44.000 It's not an act of fat phobia.
00:58:45.000 It's an act of good.
00:58:46.000 It's the same thing as somebody is smoking and you tell them that it would be really good because you want them to live for them to stop smoking.
00:58:53.000 By the way, I've had this conversation with friends of mine.
00:58:56.000 Friend of mine who lives in the neighborhood, he's an overweight dude, and he and I had this conversation.
00:58:59.000 I actually offered with him, I was like, I'll go to the gym with you.
00:59:01.000 And you know what?
00:59:03.000 He actually got active.
00:59:05.000 He took off a bunch of pounds.
00:59:06.000 Good for him.
00:59:08.000 This sort of stuff can be done, but our culture suggests that this bizarre notion of what love is, this is really what it comes down to, what love is, what good treatment is, is I love you just the way you are.
00:59:19.000 Well, what if I love you and so I want you to change the things about you that need change?
00:59:24.000 That seems like a thing.
00:59:26.000 Is it not?
00:59:27.000 And the people you are closest to, are you just always satisfied with what they do?
00:59:31.000 Or do you try to shape their behavior and give them good advice?
00:59:33.000 That's what a friend does.
00:59:35.000 Our society's focus on acceptance above all else is actually having some pretty dire side effects.
00:59:39.000 Alrighty, coming up, we'll get into the vaunted Ben Shapiro Show Mailbag Plus.
00:59:43.000 We'll be joined by a guest who actually is doing something unique.
00:59:47.000 She is stopping her birth control not because she wishes to get pregnant per se, but because she's looking into the side effects of birth control and she's skeptical about them.
00:59:54.000 We'll be getting into it.
