00:00:00.000 The NFL may be on the ropes, and President Trump may have put them there.
00:00:04.000 The left demonstrates its definite scorn for the middle of the country, and we'll talk about one of the worst movies ever made.
00:00:10.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:10.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:18.000 So the vortex of stupidity continues to whirl, and you are a part of it, my friends, as am I. There's no way to escape the Category 5 stupid hurricane that has descended upon the United States and that continues each and every day.

00:01:49.000 R-E-A-L-T-Y shares.com slash Ben for $100 toward your first investment.
00:01:55.000 Again,
00:01:56.000 The only way that you are going to be able to retire securely if you are a young person or a middle-aged person is not by relying on Social Security, which is a giant scam.
00:02:03.000 It's by making good financial decisions.
00:02:05.000 Now, one of those decisions is to invest.
00:02:07.000 Go to RealtyShares.com slash Ben.
00:02:09.000 Okay, so, the football controversy, the NFL controversy will not die.
00:02:13.000 The ratings were apparently slightly up on Sunday over the previous year, but that's because people were tuning in to see the controversy.
00:02:20.000 Next week, watch for the ratings to plummet as people simply tune out and demonstrate that they're not interested in watching a bunch of players who they feel are ungrateful for being in the United States of America and who are kneeling about the anthem and the flag.
00:02:32.000 So, one of the things that I've been talking about for years on this program now is the idea that two bubbles have formed in the United States.
00:02:39.000 It's not just one bubble.
00:02:40.000 You know, we on the right like to say, well, Hollywood's its bubble.
00:02:42.000 Media, that's their bubble.
00:02:43.000 There are two bubbles.
00:02:44.000 There's the bubble of those of us on the right and the bubble of those of the people on the left.
00:02:48.000 In the right bubble, we look at the people kneeling and we say everyone who's kneeling is doing so because they hate the anthem and the flag.
00:02:55.000 Right?
00:02:55.000 The reason that you kneel during the anthem is because you don't like the anthem and you think that America is a problematic place imbued inherently
00:03:03.000 With racism, sexism, bigotry, and homophobia.
00:03:06.000 And that's why you're kneeling.
00:03:07.000 It's because you don't like the flag.
00:03:08.000 And there's some evidence to this.
00:03:10.000 Colin Kaepernick, when he first knelt, said, I'm doing this because the flag doesn't stand for black Americans, which is just absurd.
00:03:15.000 It's just asinine.
00:03:16.000 It was the flag of the United States that was carried into battle by the black regiment during the Civil War that you can see in the movie Glory.
00:03:23.000 You know, the flag has always stood for the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and the development toward a better America.
00:03:29.000 That's what the flag has always stood for, which is why smart civil rights protesters back in the 1960s weren't burning the flag.
00:03:34.000 They were marching with the flag and saying, this is our flag.
00:03:37.000 This is our America.
00:03:38.000 That's a smart way to protest.
00:03:40.000 A stupid way to protest is to kneel through the national anthem and to kneel as the flag is honored.
00:03:45.000 That's just a dumb way to do it.
00:03:46.000 So if you're on the right,
00:03:47.000 The way that you see this battle is all the people who are kneeling originally were kneeling because they don't like the country, and the people who are kneeling with them today are probably kneeling because they also don't really like the country too much.
00:03:57.000 Then there's the way the left reads this, which is people are kneeling because they think the country is not all that it can be, and they are kneeling to demonstrate that the flag is not really being upheld, even though symbolically it matters.
00:04:08.000 It's because it matters symbolically that we have to protest it.
00:04:11.000 And therefore, that's why Kaepernick and company were kneeling originally, and now all the people who are kneeling now, it's not even because they agree with Kaepernick, it's because they don't like that President Trump called for a boycott of the NFL, and called for the NFL to fire everyone who was kneeling.
00:04:24.000 So, there are two reasons for the kneeling.
00:04:27.000 Reason number one is because America just isn't what it's supposed to be, it's not all it's cracked up to be, so kneel for the national anthem.
00:04:33.000 And reason number two is to protest Trump.
00:04:35.000 Okay, and these two visions of what exactly is happening, it demonstrates, it's sort of like the movie Rashomon.
00:04:40.000 I mean, there's a bunch of, there are multiple viewers of a single event, and they're each taking what they want from that event.
00:04:48.000 On the right, we're taking away there are a lot of people who don't like the country.
00:04:50.000 On the left, they're taking away that there are a bunch of people who want to stand against America's fundamental values, and kneeling is the way to protest those people.
00:04:57.000 So that's the actual, that's actually what's going on.
00:04:59.000 From an objective, if you're an alien coming in from outer space watching all of this, this is what you would say, right?
00:05:03.000 There's a bunch of different perspectives on the same event.
00:05:06.000 Now I tend to think a few things.
00:05:08.000 One, kneeling for the national anthem is dumb.
00:05:10.000 Kneeling for the flag is dumb.
00:05:12.000 Again, you'd be better off grabbing the flag and saying this is my flag, I stand with the flag against these forces that stand against American values.
00:05:19.000 So the kneeling is stupid, it's just, it's pointless.
00:05:22.000 And it's bad PR.
00:05:24.000 On the other hand, the people who were kneeling yesterday are not quite the same thing, or Sunday, not quite the same thing as Colin Kaepernick kneeling.
00:05:30.000 They're not all the same people.
00:05:32.000 Colin Kaepernick was basically kneeling by himself by the end of his career, and the people who were kneeling yesterday, a lot of them were people who were not on board with Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the anthem in the first place, but they wanted to show solidarity for the right to kneel.
00:05:46.000 In the same way that you sometimes see people sort of spite protest in order to piss off the other side.
00:05:52.000 So there's some of that going on too.
00:05:55.000 So let's see how this plays out.
00:05:56.000 So you can see that on a political level, this is very beneficial for Trump and Pence.
00:06:01.000 So President Trump has an inerrant nose for the controversy that is most likely to polarize the country in his favor.
00:06:09.000 He's actually quite good at this.
00:06:11.000 And he's done it repeatedly.
00:06:12.000 So the left claims after the travel ban, oh, Americans hate the travel ban.
00:06:16.000 It's just going to be terrible for Trump, the travel ban.
00:06:18.000 The travel ban wasn't terrible for Trump.
00:06:19.000 Most Americans were fine with the travel ban.
00:06:21.000 The left doesn't understand that.
00:06:23.000 The left doesn't understand that when President Trump says polarizing things on a wide variety of topics, when he says that, when he does sort of macho posturing, most Americans don't care about that.
00:06:34.000 We've all got a right to our opinions.
00:06:59.000 But I don't think it's too much to ask the players in the National Football League to stand for our national anthem.
00:07:08.000 And I know the people of Alabama agree.
00:07:11.000 Because, you know, patriotism is what unites us.
00:07:16.000 It's about respect for the flag, respect for the country.
00:07:20.000 And most importantly, it's about respect for all those who fought
00:07:28.000 And I think that Pence is exactly right, of course, which is why I've always opposed flag burning and kneeling on the flag and pictures of Bill Ayers standing on the flag.
00:07:36.000 I think it's disgusting.
00:07:38.000 I think all of that is quite gross.
00:07:39.000 So this is how the right's attempting to frame it.
00:07:41.000 You see groups like the NRA doing the same thing.
00:07:42.000 The NRA released an ad yesterday, last night, that essentially says the same thing.
00:07:48.000 For the land of the free and the home of the brave.
00:07:52.000 From high school gyms to towering stadiums, every time I see our flag wave, I feel a humbling reminder of the brave who keep and have kept us free.
00:08:02.000 I stand to honor the sacrifices of the generations before me.
00:08:06.000 Heroes who charged into battle through bombs and bullets, who lost their brothers and still push through, fighting for every inch of our freedom.
00:08:17.000 I stand for my brothers who can't stand anymore.
00:08:20.000 Men who hunted terrorists to the ends of the earth.
00:08:24.000 Who sacrificed their bodies and their lives so that we could peacefully live ours.
00:08:30.000 I stand for the children, the spouses, and parents whose family made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
00:08:36.000 Right, so you can see how political framing happens here, right?
00:08:38.000 And it's actually quite a good ad here, right?
00:08:40.000 This is an attempt to frame this specifically as all the people kneeling are doing a disservice to service members and spouses and children of people who have died in combat protecting the flag and protecting our national unity.
00:08:55.000 That's the way the right is framing this.
00:08:56.000 Now here's the way the left is framing it.
00:08:58.000 It's like we're living in two separate worlds.
00:08:59.000 We're living in two separate worlds.
00:09:00.000 Here's Hillary Clinton framing this in a completely different way.
00:09:03.000 It's as though you're watching two separate narratives happening at the same time.
00:09:07.000 Protest is a part of the American way of life, and it's something that I'm very proud of, whether I agree or disagree.
00:09:16.000 I think peaceful protest is part of what has helped us make progress, learn more, be a better country over time.
00:09:27.000 Okay, and this is what I don't like about what President Trump did, is that these were both principles that we generally believed, right?
00:09:32.000 Pretty much all Americans believed this, that you should stand for the flag, you shouldn't disrespect the flag, you shouldn't disrespect the anthem, and also that what Hillary Clinton is saying about peaceful protest is basically correct, that we in America have always valued peaceful protest, we've always valued dissent, we think that that's a valuable thing.
00:09:47.000 But now, the left has basically grabbed hold of the dissent-is-patriotism banner, and the right has grabbed hold of the actual banner, and now they're going to war with each other.
00:09:54.000 Is that good for the country?
00:09:55.000 I don't think it's good for the country at all.
00:09:57.000 And then the left takes it too far.
00:09:58.000 So if that were the only battle, then I would say, okay, easy consensus, right?
00:10:02.000 Easy to come together about this.
00:10:04.000 Very simple.
00:10:05.000 We can bridge this gap immediately.
00:10:07.000 Stop kneeling for the anthem.
00:10:09.000 And, or at least understand why we criticize you for kneeling for the anthem.
00:10:13.000 It's bad to kneel for the anthem.
00:10:15.000 And also, if you want to kneel for the anthem, you know, that's your business, but we have a right to criticize you for doing so.
00:10:20.000 Very easy consensus.
00:10:21.000 But then, Hillary Clinton decides to take this even further, and I'll explain that in just a second.
00:10:25.000 But first, I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at the USCCA.
00:10:28.000 So, can you say with 100% confidence that you and your family are safe?
00:10:33.000 What if you pull the trigger too soon?
00:10:34.000 What if someone breaks into your house and you pull the trigger too soon?
00:10:36.000 Do you know what to say?
00:10:37.000 Do you know what to do with your gun when the police arrive so that you're not arrested and carted off to prison?
00:10:41.000 Well, here's how you can take a simple, rewarding journey to concealed carry and home defense confidence.
00:10:46.000 It's called the 2017 Concealed Carry and Family Defense Guide.
00:10:50.000 It's from the U.S.
00:10:50.000 Concealed Carry Association.
00:10:52.000 It is 100% free.

00:11:06.000 You finish my podcast and pop that right in.
00:11:08.000 This life-changing guide is 100% free and for a limited time you also get a bonus home defense checklist.
00:11:13.000 So go to DefendMyFamilyNow.com for all of that.
00:11:16.000 DefendMyFamilyNow.com for 100% free instant access to that 164 page guide.
00:11:21.000 DefendMyFamilyNow.com.
00:11:22.000 They provide you all the resources that you need in order to protect your family and in case God forbid you actually have to shoot somebody
00:11:29.000 Who is coming into your home to make sure that you and your family are protected in every conceivable way.
00:11:34.000 Okay, so, as I say, the normal battle should be, it should be easy to fix.
00:11:39.000 Standing for the national anthem is appropriate, kneeling is inappropriate, but this is America, you're allowed to do it.
00:11:44.000 Everybody calm down, right?
00:11:46.000 That's the easiest way to do this.
00:11:47.000 Trump overstepped on the one end by using the flag to bash people who were kneeling to the extent saying that they ought to be fired, and then Hillary Clinton oversteps her boundaries, not by defending the First Amendment, but by then implying that anyone who opposes people who kneel is a racist.
00:12:01.000 So here's Hillary Clinton doing that routine.
00:12:03.000 I think it's deeply troubling that the president would be attacking black athletes for expressing their opinions peacefully.
00:12:13.000 Okay, attacking black athletes?
00:12:16.000 As I said on Fox News last night, President Trump is pretty equal opportunity in who he attacks.
00:12:21.000 I mean, Hillary Clinton gets it on the chin from President Trump virtually every single day, and she's been not a relevant part of America's political scene for nearly a year at this point.
00:12:30.000 So, the idea that Trump is only attacking black athletes?
00:12:33.000 Really?
00:12:33.000 I mean, he was attacking his own Attorney General the same way, like, six weeks ago.
00:12:38.000 So, no, that doesn't wash at all.
00:12:40.000 But again, what we have here is, I don't know if you've ever seen Louis C.K.'
00:12:43.000 's comedy routines.
00:12:44.000 I think Louis C.K.'
00:12:44.000 's really funny.
00:12:45.000 He has a comedy routine called, uh, called, Of Course, But Maybe.
00:12:50.000 And his comedy routine goes something like this.
00:12:51.000 He says, of course, of course, we all understand that peanut allergies are things that we should be careful of and we should make sure that nobody around a kid who has a peanut allergy should have a peanut because we have to protect those kids.
00:13:03.000 I mean, it's just something we have to do as a society.
00:13:05.000 Of course we have to do that.
00:13:07.000 But maybe if we just let people carry around peanuts, this would all be over in a generation.
00:13:13.000 Right?
00:13:13.000 This is Louis C.K.'
00:13:14.000 's routine.
00:13:15.000 The problem that we have in politics right now
00:13:17.000 is that everybody is now doing of course but maybe.
00:13:20.000 Everybody is now doing of course but maybe.
00:13:21.000 So Trump is saying things like, of course it's bad when people kneel for the anthem.
00:13:26.000 Of course, and of course dissent is okay.
00:13:29.000 But maybe all those people should be fired.
00:13:33.000 Maybe all those people should be fired.
00:13:35.000 Because, I mean, if they got fired, then no one would be kneeling for the anthem.
00:13:38.000 And then on the other side, you have Hillary Clinton doing, of course, but maybe.
00:13:41.000 Of course the flag's important.
00:13:43.000 Of course the national anthem is a good thing.
00:13:46.000 Of course that's true.
00:13:48.000 But maybe President Trump is a brutal racist.
00:13:52.000 But maybe he's a brutal racist.
00:13:53.000 And maybe people who stand for the flag are actually evidencing some sort of brutal racism.
00:13:58.000 Because of the but-maybes that we're all doing right now, everybody's in conflict.
00:14:01.000 If we just stuck with the of-courses and we skipped the but-maybes, we'd all be fine.
00:14:05.000 Because of course we all agree on this stuff.
00:14:08.000 There's no major disagreement on this stuff.
00:14:10.000 Even between people like me and Colin Kaepernick.
00:14:12.000 Okay, he may not agree about the flag and the national anthem.
00:14:16.000 He may not agree about those things.
00:14:17.000 We have a serious disagreement there.
00:14:18.000 And we may have a serious disagreement about police procedure.
00:14:20.000 But we actually agree on the value of dissent, I assume.
00:14:23.000 I assume we actually agree on that.
00:14:25.000 We at least go halfway, but now we don't even go halfway.
00:14:28.000 Now we're in total disagreement because of the butt maybes.
00:14:30.000 Okay, so you can see the media is finally starting to catch on to this game.
00:14:34.000 Trump is making serious political hay here.
00:14:36.000 He's getting people to rally around him.
00:14:38.000 You can see that, we'll show you in a second how the NFL is really stuck between a rock and a hard place, but the media is beginning to catch on that Trump
00:14:45.000 is playing a game and they are falling for it.
00:14:48.000 Here's CNN's Jim Acosta, the least self-aware reporter in America, talking about how Trump, is Trump trying to wage a culture war, is he?
00:14:56.000 Yeah, you think?
00:14:58.000 This morning he's putting out a tweet praising NASCAR, which obviously is geared towards a different demographic, and the way they stand and respect and honor the flag.
00:15:10.000 Is he trying to wage something of a culture war?
00:15:13.000 Okay, so is he trying to wage a culture war?
00:15:15.000 First of all, the left started this culture war by politicizing sports.
00:15:18.000 I have been saying this for years.
00:15:20.000 I have been saying this for a long time.
00:15:22.000 Trump did not start this war.
00:15:23.000 He's just escalated the war.
00:15:25.000 That's all.
00:15:26.000 He's just escalated the war.
00:15:28.000 And by the way, this notion that the NASCAR has a supremely different demographic from football is just not really true.
00:15:35.000 According to Statista Online, the distribution of the television audience in 2013, 77%
00:15:42.000 In any case, what's happened now is because Trump has
00:16:02.000 polarized the country even further than it already was on this, and then the left has responded by polarizing even further by saying that everyone has to kneel, everyone must kneel before Zod.
00:16:11.000 Now the NFL is stuck between a rock and a hard place, because their audience is 77% white, and there are a lot of people in that audience, white, black, and Hispanic, who are not interested in doing this routine where they watch a bunch of people protest that America is a racist, terrible, terrible country.
00:16:26.000 They're not interested in doing that routine.
00:16:28.000 So Rush Limbaugh, I think, is actually a good case study.
00:16:30.000 Not just because Rush is a right winger, obviously, but because Rush is the biggest football fan on radio.
00:16:35.000 I mean, Rush is a super giant football fan.
00:16:38.000 So much so that ESPN tried to have him on Sunday NFL Countdown about 15 years ago.
00:16:42.000 And here is Rush saying that for the first time in a long time, he didn't watch any football on Sunday.
00:16:47.000 I was personally saddened.
00:16:48.000 I did not watch the National Football League yesterday, and it was the first time in 45 years that I made an active decision not to watch, including my team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
00:17:03.000 It was not a decision made in anger.
00:17:06.000 It was genuine sadness.
00:17:09.000 And it is sad.
00:17:09.000 It is sad that these common symbols are being ripped away.
00:17:12.000 If you're an NFL owner or you're an NFL player, though, you are stuck now between a rock and a hard place.
00:17:16.000 Because on the right, they're saying you need to stand for the anthem.
00:17:18.000 And because Trump threatened, because Trump basically said, I want everyone to be fired, the NFL should change its rules, let's boycott.
00:17:25.000 Now, if you're an NFL player, even if you don't like the kneeling, you feel the necessity to stand by your teammates.
00:17:30.000 Because if you're playing on a team, you tend to stand by your teammates and their rights.
00:17:34.000 If you're an NFL owner, you don't want to alienate the NFL Players Association, nor do you want to alienate your own players by saying, I'm going to force you to stand.
00:17:41.000 But at the same time, if you don't force your players to stand, you're alienating the audience.
00:17:45.000 So the Dallas Cowboys last night tried to have it both ways.
00:17:48.000 The Dallas Cowboys, basically Jerry Jones came out, the owner of the team, Trump supporter.
00:17:52.000 He came out and he kneeled down, he knelt with all the players before the anthem.
00:17:57.000 So the idea was that we're going to kneel to show free speech rights and to demonstrate that we care about equality, and then during the anthem, we're going to stand up.
00:18:03.000 So we're going to split the baby.
00:18:04.000 We won't actually kneel during the anthem, so we're not disrespecting the anthem or the flag, but we are going to protest President Trump by kneeling before the anthem.
00:18:12.000 The problem is, everybody in the stadium thinks that Trump is sort of right about the kneeling, and so they say, okay, you're really siding with all the players who are kneeling before the anthem.
00:18:21.000 This is one of the dark places that we've gone in sort of our First Amendment discourse, is if we don't like how you exercise your First Amendment rights, then we suggest that the First Amendment itself is the problem.
00:18:35.000 Or that if you stand up for the First Amendment, you're standing up for the worst excesses of the First Amendment.
00:18:38.000 I get this all the time.
00:18:39.000 You know, I make the case that people should be allowed to speak on college campuses.
00:18:43.000 And then people say, so, are you for Nazis saying that they want to roast Jews?
00:18:46.000 And it's like, well, no, I'm not for that, but they have the right to say that kind of stuff, right?
00:18:51.000 We live in America.
00:18:53.000 People do the same thing all the time on the left, right?
00:18:56.000 They do this with religious bankers.
00:18:58.000 When I say that I think you should be able to own and operate your business the way that you see fit, and then the left says, what?
00:19:03.000 Are you for discriminating against black people and gays?
00:19:05.000 And I say, well no, I'm not actually for that.
00:19:08.000 I'm not for that at all, but you have a right to do what you want with your own business.
00:19:12.000 Rights inherently contain the capacity to misuse those rights.
00:19:16.000 The problem is, when you symbolically stand up for the right, by participating in the same sort of act as the people who are misusing the right, then you're going to be lumped in with them, and that's what happened with the Cowboys last night.
00:19:25.000 So here's what happened last night with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, and listen to the crowd.
00:19:30.000 They wanted to show unity, but they were very adamant about wanting to separate that message from the national anthem.
00:19:37.000 Sean?
00:19:38.000 All right, Lisa, as they take a knee collectively, boos can be heard from this sellout crowd in Arizona.
00:19:48.000 And you can hear the audience booing, of course.
00:19:50.000 And they are booing because, again, they are identifying the kneeling because of the symbology, the symbolism of the kneeling.
00:19:58.000 The people are booing.
00:19:59.000 They weren't booing until they knelt.
00:20:00.000 The minute that they knelt, people lumped them in with Colin Kaepernick.
00:20:03.000 And this is how this conflict is going to go for the NFL.
00:20:06.000 If you kneel, we're going to lump you in with Colin Kaepernick.
00:20:08.000 If you don't kneel, we're going to lump you in with Trump.
00:20:10.000 These are the two choices now.
00:20:11.000 We didn't have to make that choice before, but now that's the choice that popular media are forcing us to make.
00:20:16.000 It's the choice Trump wants to make.
00:20:17.000 It's the choice Pence wants to make.
00:20:19.000 It's the choice that on the left, Hillary Clinton wants you to make.
00:20:22.000 They want you to pick sides.
00:20:23.000 Are you with LeBron James and Steph Curry and Colin Kaepernick?
00:20:25.000 Are you with Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft?
00:20:27.000 Or are you with Donald Trump and Mike Pence and the soldiers?
00:20:30.000 Right?
00:20:30.000 That's the choice people want you to make.
00:20:32.000 This is not a choice you have to make.
00:20:34.000 You can be for the soldiers, don't kneel, and you can also be for Colin Kaepernick's right to kneel, right?
00:20:40.000 You can do both of these things.
00:20:42.000 But because the NFL is trying to thread this needle, they're gonna end up just destroying themselves.
00:20:46.000 And you can see it.
00:20:47.000 Yesterday, I paid homage to a guy named Alejandro Villanueva, right?
00:20:52.000 Alejandro Villanueva was an offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he served three tours in Afghanistan.
00:20:58.000 He was an Army Ranger, and he came out during the anthem,
00:21:02.000 The rest of the Steelers team stayed in the locker room.
00:21:04.000 Villanueva came out and put his hand over his heart for the anthem.
00:21:08.000 And I said, well, that's, I think, a courageous move.
00:21:10.000 Yesterday, he was forced to apologize after the left came after him.
00:21:13.000 Shannon Sharp said that Villanueva was just totally wrong.
00:21:17.000 How dare Villanueva go out there alone?
00:21:19.000 He humiliated his teammates.
00:21:21.000 Shannon, was Bill Nuevo right or wrong?
00:21:23.000 I believe he was wrong in this situation, Skip.
00:21:26.000 I believe he put his personal feelings and beliefs in front of that of the team.
00:21:31.000 And this is a team.
00:21:32.000 Now, what we know about the military, the military asks a man to put his life, his or her life, in the hands of another man.
00:21:39.000 True.
00:21:40.000 When you go outside of that protocol, people's lives are at risk.
00:21:43.000 That is correct.
00:21:44.000 That's what Colonel Jessup said and a few good men.
00:21:47.000 Okay, again, this is so stupid.
00:21:49.000 So I love the idea from Shannon Sharp that how dare he, how dare Villanueva put himself ahead of his team, his personal feelings ahead of his team.
00:21:57.000 What do you think Colin Kaepernick was doing?
00:21:58.000 Do you think that he actually went through the 49ers locker room and asked permission before he did what he did?
00:22:03.000 So you're allowed to put your opinion ahead of the team when you're kneeling for the anthem, but you're not allowed to do that when you are standing up for the American flag.
00:22:10.000 Villanueva ends up apologizing for all of this because, again, this is the problem.
00:22:15.000 Now you're being forced to make a choice.
00:22:17.000 You're either with your team, and therefore with Colin Kaepernick by extension, or you're with Donald Trump.
00:22:22.000 That's a crappy choice.
00:22:24.000 Most Americans don't want to make that choice.
00:22:25.000 We're going to show you the tape of Villanueva apologizing, which I just think is awful, in one second.
00:22:30.000 But first, I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at FrameBridge.
00:22:33.000 So FrameBridge is the easiest way to custom frame your favorite art and photos.

00:23:07.000 So none of that stupid screwing the stuff in, you know, to the back of the frame.
00:23:11.000 Instead, it's ready to hang as soon as it comes to your door.
00:23:14.000 The best part, instead of the hundreds that you'd pay,
00:23:16.000 We're good to go.
00:23:37.000 And their prices are much cheaper than it would be at some retail outlet where you'd have to pay the markup because you're going direct to the supplier with FrameBridge.com.
00:23:43.000 FrameBridge.com, use promo code Shapiro and save 15% off your forced order.
00:23:48.000 Again, that's FrameBridge.com, promo code Shapiro.
00:23:51.000 Easy, simple, and inexpensive, and it looks nicer than anything else that you'll get on the market.
00:23:56.000 Okay, so here is this Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman being forced to apologize because he didn't stand by his teammates.
00:24:01.000 Because you either stand by the people who are kneeling, or you're a bad guy now.
00:24:06.000 Regardless of this plan, very few players knew that I was going to the tunnel because I only asked the team leadership.
00:24:13.000 And so because of that, I didn't give them an opportunity to stand with me during the National Anthem.
00:24:19.000 That is the very embarrassing part on my end and what transpires because when everybody sees an image of me standing by myself,
00:24:27.000 Everybody thinks that the team and the Steelers are not behind me and that's absolutely wrong.
00:24:32.000 It's quite the opposite.
00:24:33.000 They all would have, actually the entire team would have been out there with me.
00:24:36.000 Even the ones that wanted to take a knee would have been there with me had they known these extreme circumstances that at Soldier Field, you know, at the heat of the moment when I got soldiers, wounded veterans texting me that
00:24:49.000 We're good to go.
00:25:05.000 No, it's the sealer's fault for not going out there and figuring this thing out beforehand.
00:25:08.000 That's their fault, okay?
00:25:09.000 And it's not Villanueva's job to stay in the locker room with his idiot teammates who won't come out for the anthem.
00:25:14.000 If they want to come out and lock arms, and some of them kneel and some of them don't, that's fine.
00:25:17.000 But to rip on Villanueva as though he did something totally wrong for coming out after serving three tours in Afghanistan, all these guys can just...
00:25:25.000 We're good to go.
00:25:40.000 As you see the posturing from some people on the right about the flag and the anthem and the idea that everybody who is protesting in any way must hate the flag and the anthem, which I don't think is true.
00:25:50.000 I'm going to show you some scorn from the left that is truly off-putting and demonstrative of just why what Trump said is so effective politically.
00:25:57.000 We're going to go through all that.
00:25:58.000 Particularly Spurs coach Greg Popovich said some pretty amazing things yesterday.
00:26:02.000 LeBron James too.
00:26:03.000 We'll go through all of it.
00:26:04.000 But for that, you're going to have to go over to dailywire.com.
00:26:06.000 For $9.99 a month, you can get your subscription to dailywire.com.
00:26:09.000 You get the rest of this show live.

00:26:14.000 Go check out Drew's show.
00:26:15.000 If you haven't yet, it's really clever and it's really fun.
00:26:18.000 It's really interesting, and he always has great takes, so check out Drew's show.
00:26:21.000 I'll put that in a thing I like, but I mention it every day, so go check out Drew's show as well.
00:26:26.000 For $9.99 a month, you get a subscription for all of that.
00:26:28.000 And you also, if you get the annual subscription, $99 a year, then you get this, the Leftist Tears Hot or Cold mug, which is quite delightful at holding beverages and liquids of all sorts.
00:26:39.000 Hopefully drinkable.
00:26:40.000 So go check that out.
00:26:42.000 If you merely wish to subscribe to our iTunes or SoundCloud or YouTube, please go ahead and do that and leave us a review.
00:26:47.000 We always appreciate it.
00:26:48.000 We are the largest, fastest growing podcast in the nation.
00:26:58.000 All right, so the left scorn is truly astonishing, and this is the part where Trump triggered the left into making the mistake of going full Kaepernick.
00:27:06.000 Never go full Kaepernick.
00:27:08.000 Again, the winning strategy for the left here was, we stand with the right of people to kneel even if we disagree with their kneeling.
00:27:13.000 That's the proper strategy.
00:27:14.000 The left cannot help themselves, and so they feel the necessity to rip America generally.
00:27:18.000 So here's Greg Popovich, who's a very left guy, the coach of the San Antonio Spurs, very brusque fellow, talking about how America is an embarrassment to the world now.
00:27:29.000 We're countries in embarrassment in the world.
00:27:33.000 This is an individual actually thought that when people held arms during the games that they were doing it to honor the flag.
00:27:46.000 That's delusional.
00:27:49.000 Absolutely delusional, but it's what we have to live with.
00:27:53.000 So you've got a choice.
00:27:54.000 We can continue to bounce our heads off the wall with his conduct, or we can decide that the institutions of our country are more important, that people are more important, that the decent America that we all thought we had and want is more important, and get down to business at the grassroots level and do what we have to do.
00:28:18.000 Okay, so the idea that everybody is embarrassed by the United States.
00:28:20.000 First of all, the idea that we're an embarrassment to the world to whom?
00:28:23.000 What, we embarrass the Germans?
00:28:24.000 Ooh, whoop-dee-frickin'-do.
00:28:26.000 Like, anyone cares about that?
00:28:27.000 What, do we embarrass Zimbabwe?
00:28:28.000 Do we embarrass Communist China?
00:28:29.000 Do we embarrass Putin?
00:28:30.000 Like, who do we embarrass?
00:28:31.000 Do we embarrass Syria?
00:28:33.000 Those sorts of statements are so obnoxious that they're just ridiculous.
00:28:36.000 And then Popovich said stuff, he went on to say that if you're a white person in America, you never understand what it's like to be black.
00:28:42.000 If that's the case, you cannot have a functioning republic.
00:28:44.000 The whole point of a functioning republic is that you can think beyond your own self-interest and think about what's good for the country and try to get in the head of somebody else and get in their shoes.
00:28:53.000 The idea that inherently, if you're a black person, that you can, if you're a white person, you can never understand what it's like to be somebody black, well...
00:29:00.000 That's really stupid, particularly because there are lots of different types of white people and lots of different types of black people.
00:29:05.000 It plays directly into the racist stereotypes that underlie Kaepernick's nonsense.
00:29:09.000 And this is, again, this is where the left is going.
00:29:13.000 The left is fully embracing the radicalism now.
00:29:15.000 Trump has forced them out of the closet, and they're embracing the radicalism.
00:29:18.000 Dan Patrick, talk show host, he says, you know, the American flag, it's just not the same thing to black Americans and white Americans.
00:29:25.000 The flag represents something different to other people.
00:29:30.000 Certainly white people can look at it and go, that flag, hey, my father fought.
00:29:33.000 My dad was Marine.
00:29:35.000 I mean, I might have to sit down and have a discussion if my father were alive to say this is what's going on, but hopefully you could have a dialogue that says this is why they're doing it.
00:29:45.000 It's not about the flag.
00:29:47.000 It's about far more than that to them.
00:29:50.000 The flag is not the same thing to them as it is to us.
00:29:53.000 And I'm saying white America.
00:29:55.000 The flag is not the same thing to black people as it is to white people?
00:29:58.000 Really?
00:29:59.000 I think the flag is the same thing to everybody.
00:30:01.000 I think that we should all have, as Americans, we have a common stake in the future of the country and in the history of ideas in the country.
00:30:08.000 I don't think that unity is impossible in the country.
00:30:10.000 See, this is where I divide from the left and I divide from President Trump.
00:30:13.000 I don't think that unity is impossible on these sorts of issues.
00:30:17.000 I think that we can find unity in saying the American flag stands for what's best about America, and we are always attempting to perfect the country in pursuit of that goal.
00:30:26.000 And we shouldn't protest the one symbol that we hold in common.
00:30:28.000 I mean, we have so few now as it is.
00:30:31.000 But again, the left's radicalism, it's just, when people say that Trump is the divider, Trump is a divider, he is not the divider.
00:30:38.000 There are a lot of people who are quite divisive.
00:30:39.000 LeBron James decides that he has to sound off too now.
00:30:42.000 And here's LeBron talking about how stupid voters are, American voters are, for voting for Trump.
00:30:47.000 I don't think a lot of people was educated.
00:30:52.000 And I think that's one of the biggest problems that we have when it becomes vote time.
00:30:57.000 That people are just not educated on either the individual or what's actually going on in the state of the world right now.
00:31:07.000 Not like that particular state, but in the state of the world.
00:31:09.000 I don't think a lot of people are educated.
00:31:12.000 And they make choices and say things that's uneducated.
00:31:16.000 Okay, so uneducated this, uneducated this from LeBron James.
00:31:20.000 The people wasn't educated?
00:31:23.000 Weren't.
00:31:25.000 Again, that's not just being snarky.
00:31:28.000 Saying to people that they are uneducated about their vote and that's why they're voting the way that they are, maybe they just have different principles than you.
00:31:35.000 Maybe they have different beliefs.
00:31:36.000 Maybe they have different sources of information than you.
00:31:38.000 But again, this is all super polarizing stuff.
00:31:40.000 As I said yesterday, LeBron James ripping other people on their level of education.
00:31:43.000 The guy went directly from high school to the NBA.
00:31:47.000 He may be an intelligent guy.
00:31:48.000 I have no evidence that he's a dum-dum.
00:31:51.000 But I would not
00:31:54.000 Put my vote on the peg of education if I went directly from high school to the NBA and that was my entire experience in higher education.
00:32:02.000 Again, you can say that people are making stupid, stupid votes.
00:32:08.000 That I think is fair on every side.
00:32:11.000 But to say uneducated when your educational background is what LeBron's is, is I think a little bit ironic at the very least.
00:32:16.000 So, again, the left falling into Trump's trap by becoming ever more radical is part of Trump's trap.
00:32:22.000 Jesse Williams, who's an actor that nobody's heard of since he did what was he on Grey's Anatomy or something?
00:32:26.000 And he hasn't done anything since.
00:32:28.000 But he hangs out so that he can say things about how America's terrible every so often on MSNBC.
00:32:32.000 So they took him out of storage, they un-mothballed him, and then they talked to him about the National Anthem protests.
00:32:40.000 I think, Thomas, it's also important to realize that this anthem thing is a scam.
00:32:44.000 This is not actually part of football.
00:32:46.000 This was invented in 2009 from the government paying the NFL to market military recruitment, to get more people to go off and fight wars to die.
00:32:55.000 This has nothing to do with NFL or American pastime or tradition.
00:32:59.000 This is to get boys and girls to go fly overseas and go kill people.
00:33:04.000 How dare the military show up and ask people to join the military?
00:33:07.000 You know, the military that defends this moron's right to speak?
00:33:09.000 How dare the military go to the NFL crowd and make as though the military is a useful thing?
00:33:16.000 Just horrifying.
00:33:17.000 So again, Trump has trolled the left into being as left as it possibly can be, and at the same time, he has made an unprincipled right give up on certain principles like
00:33:25.000 The president of the United States should not be interfering with private business operations.
00:33:28.000 And they've given up on that because it's more important to shout about the flag and the national anthem.
00:33:33.000 So yes, everything remains just as stupid as it was yesterday.
00:33:36.000 Again, no Disneyland.
00:33:37.000 Okay, time for some things I like, and then some things I hate, and then we'll deconstruct some culture.
00:33:41.000 So things that I like today.
00:33:43.000 Peter Thiel, who is a, he was a Trump supporter.
00:33:46.000 He is the co-founder of PayPal.
00:33:49.000 He's an investor in Facebook.
00:33:51.000 He's one of the top minds in Silicon Valley.
00:33:55.000 His original investment group in PayPal included people like Elon Musk.
00:33:58.000 It was like seven members and all of them have started billion-dollar companies.
00:34:01.000 A brilliant guy, Peter Thiel.
00:34:02.000 He wrote a book called Zero to One, Notes on Startups or How We Build the Future, and it's a really good book.
00:34:08.000 It's a short book, it's about 180 pages, very quick read, but it's got some deep thoughts about how you ought to think about your business.
00:34:13.000 And how you ought to think about your life.
00:34:14.000 And what I like about Thiel is that he's very optimistic in his vision for people taking control of their own lives.
00:34:19.000 He's very libertarian, Thiel.
00:34:21.000 And as am I. So that means that we have a lot in common.
00:34:24.000 And I think that Peter's book is quite good.
00:34:26.000 So go out and pick up the book, Zero to One, by Peter Thiel.
00:34:30.000 Okay.
00:34:30.000 Other things that I like.
00:34:32.000 You know, this thing belongs in Things I Hate.
00:34:33.000 So this will be the shortest Things I Like ever.
00:34:34.000 Let's just go directly to Things I Hate.
00:34:41.000 Okay, so let's begin with Bernie Sanders.
00:34:44.000 Bernie Sanders did a debate on healthcare last night with Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham, which is just, ugh.
00:34:50.000 I mean, that's basically TV death.
00:34:53.000 You turn in for five minutes, and then the ratings must have been great on CNN for this thing because people tuned in for five minutes and they died at their remote, so Arbitron and Nielsen were still registering that they were watching because they have no idea they're dead.
00:35:05.000 Bernie Sanders of Vermont, he explains that healthcare is a right.
00:35:09.000 Why is healthcare a right?
00:35:10.000 Because everybody else says it's a right.
00:35:13.000 But that is not good enough.
00:35:15.000 Our job now is to come together to craft serious short-term solutions that addresses the real problems that exist.
00:35:23.000 High deductibles, high copayments, high premiums, high cost of prescription drugs.
00:35:28.000 But longer term, we have got to come together.
00:35:32.000 And finally conclude that as a nation, we cannot be the only nation, major nation on earth, not to see healthcare as a right.
00:35:40.000 Thank you very much.
00:35:41.000 We cannot be the only major nation on Earth not to see abortion as a right.
00:35:45.000 We cannot be the only major nation on Earth not to spend 80% of our GDP on social programs.
00:35:52.000 What is this nonsense about we can't be the only major nation on Earth to do X or Y or Z?
00:35:56.000 We cannot be the only... Bernie Sanders circa 1775.
00:35:59.000 We cannot be the only major nation on Earth not to have a king.
00:36:03.000 We must have a king.
00:36:04.000 Everyone else has a king.
00:36:05.000 Why cannot we have a king?
00:36:07.000 Have they even created pudding yet?
00:36:09.000 I do not think so.
00:36:10.000 So this notion that we are going to declare healthcare a right because France declares healthcare a right is the stupidest crap I ever heard.
00:36:18.000 Make an affirmative case for why saying that is going to make healthcare better.
00:36:22.000 But don't say that just because other nations say stuff, therefore we ought to say stuff.
00:36:25.000 I mean, this falls into the same category as Popovich saying that we're an embarrassment to the world.
00:36:29.000 Yeah, we only provide half the world's economic growth.
00:36:32.000 Yeah, we're the embarrassment to the world.
00:36:33.000 Okay, other things that I hate.
00:36:35.000 So there is an unbelievable op-ed in the New York Times today.
00:36:38.000 I don't know what's going on over at the New York Times editorial page, but they have obviously decided that it is deeply important to promote communism.
00:36:46.000 In the last several months, they've run the following headlines.
00:36:49.000 When communism inspired Americans, April 29th, 2017.
00:36:53.000 When the Harlem Renaissance went communist, August 21st, 2017.
00:36:57.000 Socialism's future may be its past, June 26th, 2017.
00:37:01.000 And, of course, why women had better sex under socialism, August 12th, 2017.
00:37:06.000 Today's entry, okay, this is what they tweeted out.
00:37:09.000 For all its flaws, the communist revolution taught Chinese women to dream big.
00:37:14.000 For all its flaws, let me read that again slowly so that you understand how stupid this is.
00:37:18.000 For all its flaws, the communist revolution taught Chinese women to dream big.
00:37:23.000 Yes, it taught them to dream big and then die.
00:37:25.000 The Great Leap Forward cost 40 million lives.
00:37:29.000 Overall, Chinese communism has cost 65 million dead people, 35 million of those are probably women.
00:37:36.000 Forced abortion in China has caused the death of, by some reports,
00:37:41.000 Of at least 191 million female babies.
00:37:46.000 191 million female babies aborted since the Communist Revolution in China, according to some studies.
00:37:52.000 Which means that right now, China has a shortfall in women.
00:37:54.000 They have 30 to 40 million more men than women in China, which is actually a serious demographic problem.
00:37:59.000 When countries tend to have far more men than women, they're more likely to be militarized and go to war because you got a lot of horny guys hanging around who aren't married and don't have families.
00:38:09.000 But the New York Times op-ed says, no, no, no, you don't understand.
00:38:12.000 Communism was great for women.
00:38:14.000 So, here is the glowing reminisce, quote, The communists did many terrible things, my grandmother always says at the end of her reminiscences, but they made women's lives much better.
00:38:23.000 That oft-repeated dictum sums up the popular perception of Mao Zedong regarding women in China.
00:38:27.000 As every Chinese schoolchild learns in history class, the communists rescued peasant daughters from urban brothels and ushered cloistered wives into factories, liberating them from the oppression of Confucian patriarchy and imperialist threat.
00:38:40.000 You know what actually has created women's rights?
00:38:42.000 Capitalism, gang.
00:38:44.000 Not communism.
00:38:45.000 Capitalism.
00:38:45.000 Where are women freer today?
00:38:47.000 Communist China or the United States?
00:38:50.000 Or France?
00:38:51.000 Or Britain?
00:38:51.000 Or Germany?
00:38:52.000 Or Denmark?
00:38:53.000 All of which are capitalist countries, okay?
00:38:55.000 Denmark is far more like the United States than it is like China in terms of how its economy is run.
00:39:00.000 This notion that women were liberated.
00:39:03.000 Liberated to do what?
00:39:04.000 Starve?
00:39:04.000 This is all reminiscent of how the left talks about people like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, at least before people are eating dogs in the streets of Venezuela.
00:39:12.000 Fidel, he brought healthcare.
00:39:13.000 He brought healthcare to the people.
00:39:15.000 Sure, thousands of them are in prison for dissent.
00:39:18.000 Sure, they hate the island so much they're attempting to float off the island with 1950s cars and the tires inflated.
00:39:24.000 Sure, but he had healthcare, didn't he?
00:39:26.000 And literacy went up.
00:39:28.000 It's so ridiculous.
00:39:30.000 Here's what it says.
00:39:31.000 It didn't do anything.
00:39:31.000 It just told women that they could be leaders of the re-education camps.
00:39:48.000 Again, the New York Times propping up communism is quite an amazing sight.
00:39:51.000 So, the left really, really out of the closet on this stuff now.
00:39:56.000 Okay, time for a little bit of deconstructing the culture.
00:39:58.000 So, deconstructing the culture today, why don't we begin with this incredible video.
00:40:02.000 You were talking about scorn of one side for the other.
00:40:05.000 There's a video that's now come out with a few actresses.
00:40:08.000 I don't actually know some of these actresses.
00:40:11.000 I guess one of them is Ellen Page.
00:40:13.000 I'm not sure who the other actresses are here.
00:40:16.000 But they cut a video
00:40:18.000 For the AV Club and the Onion, talking about how they're not gonna date Trump supporters.
00:40:23.000 Good luck with that.
00:40:27.000 The bubble, the self-righteous bubble these people have created is quite amazing.
00:40:31.000 Now the sports world is bubbling itself off in the same way that the entertainment world is, that there's a Sports Illustrated cover showing a bunch of people in sports.
00:40:37.000 We all stand together.
00:40:39.000 Hollywood does this routine.
00:40:40.000 We all stand together.
00:40:40.000 Guess what?
00:40:41.000 The rest of America thinks you're just awful.
00:40:43.000 So here's this little video with Ellen Page and unnamed other people.
00:40:48.000 Who I will find out in just a moment saying they would never date a Trump supporter.
00:40:52.000 But I think in the end they, you know, everyone's starting to see sort of what's happening.
00:40:58.000 I don't want to go on because I can go on for way too long but like, um, no.
00:41:02.000 No, I don't think I could get an earful.
00:41:03.000 If you are a Trump supporter, well at any point because you've been saying this the whole time, but by this point, I'm sorry.
00:41:10.000 Exactly.
00:41:11.000 No.
00:41:12.000 Okay, no.
00:41:13.000 We never dated a Trump supporter.
00:41:14.000 Just never do it.
00:41:15.000 Okay, it's Kate Mara and Ellen Page and Amy Simons who are in a new movie that looks awful called My Days of Mercy, which looks just terrible.
00:41:22.000 Kate Mara and Ellen Page play lovers on the opposite ends of the political spectrum.
00:41:25.000 Page is Lucy, a woman who is vehemently opposed to the death penalty, while Mara's Mercy is in support of it.
00:41:31.000 Good luck.
00:41:31.000 All right.
00:41:32.000 So you wonder why Americans look at Hollywood and they say, we want no part of you.
00:41:36.000 This is why.
00:41:37.000 You wonder why movie receipts are down?
00:41:38.000 Part of it is because the movies are crappy.
00:41:40.000 Part of it is because the tickets are expensive.
00:41:42.000 And part of it is because you people keep alienating us and annoying us.
00:41:45.000 And the same thing is about to happen in the sporting world, in other entertainment news.
00:41:50.000 The Amazon has decided that it is imperative to show transgender full frontal nudity on TV.
00:41:56.000 They really did this the other day.
00:41:58.000 The person in the rear of this photograph is a man who has had a boob job.
00:42:05.000 That's all that's happened here.
00:42:07.000 Alexander Billings is the name of this of this actual transgender person who is intransparent um and uh and so they I don't know if we just have the picture or if there's the actual scene I hope just the picture because I don't actually want to see the scene in any case this person turns around and has breasts and a penis uh and this is supposed to be some sort of some sort of step forward for the transgender community now we're all supposed to I love the descriptions in the media
00:42:32.000 It's pretty amazing.
00:42:33.000 In the media, in the Daily Beast, they say a thing.
00:42:35.000 It's just, it's just incredible because we really wanted to show her penis.
00:42:41.000 Her penis?
00:42:42.000 Excuse me?
00:42:44.000 So, on the one hand, again, this is just pushing more cultural boundaries so that we're supposed to pretend that all of this is, that this person is actually a woman.
00:42:52.000 But, on the other hand, there is something to the idea that the shocking vision of a man with breasts may dissuade some folks that this is actually a woman.
00:43:01.000 Because, when you see that, that's clearly a man.
00:43:05.000 So, good job Amazon for creating programming that just
00:43:11.000 What's the point of all this?
00:43:11.000 What's the point of all this?
00:43:12.000 I mean, this is just what they do.
00:43:13.000 Okay, final note on deconstructing the culture.
00:43:16.000 I have no words for these things.
00:43:18.000 Final note, there's a movie called Mother, and our own Michael Knowles, who's wrong about virtually everything, is wrong about this too.
00:43:24.000 He says that the movie Mother is just...
00:43:26.000 I think so.
00:43:47.000 Looks inside people's heads that no one cares about and it's always a dark, creepy place because Darren Aronofsky's a weirdo.
00:43:52.000 His new movie, Mother, is another one of these routines in the same line.
00:43:57.000 By the way, if you ever want to watch a truly awful film, go watch Noah.
00:44:00.000 Noah's a truly awful film that does not understand the Bible.
00:44:03.000 So he's made a new film that's basically in the same vein.
00:44:06.000 It's Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem.
00:44:07.000 Javier Bardem plays a writer with writer's block who's supposed to obviously be God.
00:44:14.000 Jennifer Lawrence is supposed to be the Virgin Mary.
00:44:16.000 We're good.
00:44:38.000 On CinemaScore, it's got an F. And it got an F because it degrades into this bizarre orgy of blood and violence and fire, and the whole idea is supposed to be that humanity, man and woman, come to this house that's owned by Javier Bardem and Jennifer Lawrence, and they start ruining the house and making everything terrible, and all these people start showing up because humans are a scourge on the Earth, which was the same message that he promoted in Noah, which is garbage.
00:45:03.000 Here's the preview.
00:45:04.000 They tried to pitch this as a horror film because they knew nobody would want to watch a movie about how human beings are garbage and ruin the earth.
00:45:10.000 So instead they tried to promote this as a normal horror film.
00:45:15.000 We spend all our time here.
00:45:18.000 I want to make a paradise.
00:45:20.000 She redid all of that.
00:45:22.000 Every last detail.
00:45:24.000 She breathed life back into every room.
00:45:26.000 Are you happy?
00:45:45.000 Please, come in.
00:45:47.000 Hello.
00:45:47.000 Hey, look, a shaky cam.
00:45:49.000 Thanks, Darren.
00:45:49.000 He's a stranger.
00:45:50.000 We're just gonna let him sleep in our house.
00:45:53.000 Hello.
00:45:54.000 Hello.
00:45:55.000 Did you know he had a wife?
00:46:03.000 It's creepy!
00:46:03.000 Are they ghosts?
00:46:04.000 Is the house haunted?
00:46:06.000 No, it turns out none of that crap is true.
00:46:07.000 It's just all a really bad biblical allegory for a guy who has never really studied the Bible in any depth, and I believe Aronofsky's a self-proclaimed atheist.
00:46:15.000 So, note to self-proclaimed atheists, please stop making religiously allegorical movies.
00:46:20.000 You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
00:46:22.000 Okay, I'm not making an atheist film.
00:46:23.000 I would suggest that you not make a religious film if you don't know what in the world you're talking about.
00:46:28.000 More evidence that Hollywood hates the country.
00:46:29.000 And that's exactly what Aronofsky said, by the way.
00:46:31.000 He said, audiences don't get it because they're illiterate.
00:46:33.000 Yeah, thanks, guys.
00:46:35.000 I can't imagine why all of us are turning off our TVs and ignoring you.
00:46:38.000 Okay.
00:46:38.000 We'll be back here tomorrow with the latest in the stupidity vortex as it continues to build into that Category 5 hurricane that will wipe all intellectual life from the planet.
00:46:47.000 Blech!
00:46:48.000 Do better today, guys.
00:46:50.000 Tomorrow, by the way, we'll be in Utah.
00:46:52.000 So if you're at University of Utah, I think we're sold out.
00:46:54.000 But there may be overflow rooms, so check it out.
00:46:56.000 But we'll see you there if you are.
00:46:58.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:46:59.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
