00:00:09.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:10.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.
00:00:18.000 Thousands of my listeners have already secured their network data.
00:00:20.000 Join them at expressvpn.com.
00:00:23.000 And we'll get to all the news in just one moment.
00:00:25.000 First, let's talk about a simple fact.
00:00:27.000 You are paying way too much for, like, every single thing.
00:00:29.000 One of the things you are paying way too much for is one of your bigger bills, actually, every month.
00:00:33.000 And that, of course, is your cell phone bill.
00:00:35.000 You're paying for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
00:00:37.000 You're paying for all of their brick stores, and you're paying for all of their social media outreach.
00:00:41.000 And all that kind of stuff.
00:00:42.000 You don't need to do any of that.
00:00:43.000 Instead, just go get Pure Talk.
00:00:44.000 It's time to ditch Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile and pay about half.
00:00:49.000 Pure Talk has the same 5G coverage as one of the big guys, but they're going to save the average family over $800 a year.
00:00:49.000 Okay?
00:00:54.000 I made the switch a long time ago.
00:00:55.000 What exactly is your excuse?
00:00:57.000 And how many times do I have to tell you?
00:00:58.000 Just switch over to Pure Talk already.
00:00:59.000 You can keep your number, you can keep your phone, or you can get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids as well.
00:01:05.000 You get unlimited talk text and six gigs of data, just 30 bucks a month, or you get unlimited data and you can still save a fortune.
00:01:11.000 Head on over to puretalk.com, enter promo code SHAPIRO.
00:01:14.000 You will save 50% off your very first month of coverage.
00:01:16.000 That is puretalk.com, promo code SHAPIRO to get started because Pure Talk is simply smarter wireless.
00:01:21.000 Stop paying the big guys all that big money for no reason at all.
00:01:24.000 Instead, head on over to puretalk.com, promo code SHAPIRO to get started.
00:01:29.000 Well, the increasing woke-ization of corporate America is really quite troubling because there used to be all these corporations and we just used to shop and we didn't have to worry about what the political priorities of the corporations were.
00:01:40.000 We didn't have to worry about whether they were attempting to indoctrinate our children into woke sexual values or critical race theory.
00:01:47.000 We didn't have to worry about how they were using our money to lobby against our most deeply held values.
00:01:52.000 This just wasn't a priority.
00:01:53.000 Well, now it is a priority.
00:01:55.000 And the reason it's a priority is because the woke have hijacked these major corporations and used them to their own ends.
00:02:00.000 And honestly, there's something incredibly leech-like about all of this.
00:02:04.000 People build businesses, people like Walt Disney.
00:02:06.000 He builds a business, one of the biggest businesses on planet Earth, through sheer creativity and appealing to broad audiences of people.
00:02:12.000 And then his corporation is taken over by a group of radicals who never could have started a business anything like this on their own.
00:02:19.000 They just see a giant whale and they plunge their radical harpoons into the whale and then they attempt to steer that whale in the direction they wish to take it.
00:02:26.000 And so you have all of these people who've never built a popsicle stand.
00:02:30.000 Suddenly taking control of multi-billion dollar corporations in order to promote their left-wing values.
00:02:36.000 Under the rubric of stakeholder capitalism saying, well, you know what?
00:02:39.000 We understand that it may not be in Disney's best interest as a company to alienate, you know, every parent in America, but as...
00:02:45.000 It's not just the parents.
00:02:46.000 Stakeholders all over the place have a stake in what it is that Disney does.
00:02:50.000 And that's why we should listen to people who have never built a Popsicle stand.
00:02:54.000 Because those people are representative of others who are outside the business, who may not even go to Disney, who may not even shop at Disney, who may not take their families, who may not have families.
00:03:04.000 The broad spectrum of humanity requires us to do the right moral thing as we see it and as we define it.
00:03:11.000 And so what you have is a bunch of people who, again, don't build things because here's the thing.
00:03:15.000 When you build things, you have to be responsive to the market.
00:03:17.000 The market is going to dictate what you can and cannot do.
00:03:20.000 The market is going to dictate whether anybody buys your product.
00:03:23.000 And so what that means is that you are restricted in some ways from being who you are.
00:03:27.000 Authenticity is not the chief mechanism by which markets work.
00:03:32.000 The market doesn't care about your level of authenticity.
00:03:33.000 It cares about whether you provide a good or a service to me at a price I wish to pay.
00:03:39.000 That's how people build businesses.
00:03:40.000 They cater to an audience.
00:03:42.000 And maybe they find an audience.
00:03:43.000 If they're like Daily Wire, we have our principles, and then we find an audience.
00:03:47.000 But that's because we're an explicitly political company.
00:03:49.000 If you're Disney, and you're explicitly apolitical, becoming political is an attempt to take something that was not political and then politicize it and make it political, and do so on the back of the people who actually built the prosperity, which is really ungrateful and kind of ugly, frankly.
00:04:05.000 If you walk into a billion-dollar corporation, or a corporation like Disney spends tens of billions of dollars every year on entertainment, And your chief goal is, how do I take this behemoth that has served hundreds of millions of people all over the globe and then pervert it from my own political point of view?
00:04:21.000 It's kind of unseemly at the very least.
00:04:24.000 Which brings us to Abigail Disney.
00:04:27.000 So Abigail Disney is an heiress.
00:04:28.000 Now, I've been informed by the left that heirs are really bad, right?
00:04:30.000 Heirs and heiresses, these are really bad.
00:04:32.000 These are people who have inherited their wealth.
00:04:34.000 And I've been told by Bernie Sanders and AOC that people who inherit their wealth are inherently untrustworthy.
00:04:38.000 After all, these are people who have never created anything.
00:04:40.000 So why exactly should they inherit any wealth?
00:04:42.000 But Abigail Disney does not count.
00:04:44.000 Because Abigail Disney Mirrors all of the woke values that the left loves, which means that she will be left with her $150 million fortune and nobody bothering her.
00:04:53.000 So she took to Twitter the other day.
00:04:55.000 She's the great niece of Walt Disney, who has been involved in zero of the success of the Walt Disney Company.
00:05:01.000 She took to Twitter.
00:05:02.000 To go after the Florida parental rights in education law, and to go after Christopher Rufo, the reporter who had the temerity to reveal tape from an all-hands meeting at Disney, in which top executives at Disney vowed that they would ideologically groom your children.
00:05:19.000 So, Abigail Disney began this long Twitter thread by getting very angry at Chris Rufo, because Chris Rufo tweeted out, We are waging moral war against Disney.
00:05:27.000 We are directly targeting their public reputation.
00:05:29.000 We are turning half of their customers against them.
00:05:31.000 He's saying this because, of course, he's making people aware of what people at the top of Disney say they will do with their own content.
00:05:36.000 You know how much it takes to turn me, a huge Disney fan, against Disney?
00:05:40.000 A lot.
00:05:41.000 Actually, you know what it takes to turn me against Disney?
00:05:44.000 All of their top executives vowing that they will indoctrinate my children in values that I think are wrong.
00:05:49.000 So Disney never would have hired anyone like Abigail Disney for like virtually all of its existence because Abigail Disney has no qualifications.
00:05:56.000 She is, of course, an heiress.
00:05:57.000 Well, if you need better employees than Abigail Disney, and heck, who doesn't, you need to head on over to Zip Recruiter.
00:06:03.000 According to the latest research, 90% of employers plan to make enhancing the employee experience a top priority.
00:06:08.000 In 2022, after all, a happy workplace is key to attracting and keeping great employees.
00:06:13.000 Well, if you need to add more and better employees to your team, ZipRecruiter exists.

00:06:43.000 ZipRecruiter's technology is so effective, four out of five employers who post on ZipRecruiter get a quality candidate within day one.

00:06:51.000 Try it for free.
00:06:52.000 ZipRecruiter.com slash DailyWire.
00:06:54.000 That is ZipRecruiter.com slash D-A-I-L-Y-W-I-R-E.
00:06:57.000 ZipRecruiter is indeed the smartest way to hire.
00:07:00.000 So here's what Abigail Disney, who again, created zero of the success of Disney, but her last name is Disney and she did inherit a lot of wealth.
00:07:06.000 Here's what she had to say, quote, like all radical ideologues, the right wing has finally run amok and is coming to devour the hand that feeds it.
00:07:12.000 Business.
00:07:13.000 So first of all, let me just point out, Abigail Disney does not get to complain about devouring the hand that feeds it.
00:07:19.000 She is rich because she had a great uncle who founded a massive company.
00:07:26.000 She has done zero productive things, as far as I'm aware, in her entire life.
00:07:31.000 And she's using that lovely perch in order to rip against the company that created her wealth.
00:07:38.000 Which is, for my part, I am delighted.
00:07:39.000 It is the business world that has been either by act or omission feeding the opportunist right wing to distract us with culture war nonsense while they rifle the till and empty everyone's pockets.
00:07:50.000 Okay, this is one of the things that the left likes to say, which is that it's the right that has declared the culture war.
00:07:55.000 As we've discussed, it is the left that declared the culture war.
00:07:57.000 There has not been a right-wing social move in the United States of any magnitude for the last several decades.
00:08:02.000 She says this anti-woke right-wing nonsense is unsupported by a large majority of Americans.
00:08:06.000 Wrong.
00:08:07.000 Wrong by polling data.
00:08:08.000 The Florida Parental Rights and Education Bill is backed by a majority of Democrats.
00:08:12.000 As long as they know what's in it, a majority of Democrats back it.
00:08:15.000 Abigail Disney, however, being out of touch and very wealthy, says, in fact, most Americans are offended by it and wish it would just go away.
00:08:22.000 She says you need two things to rule with minority.
00:08:23.000 First, you need to be constantly looking for fresh meat to throw to the minions to keep them riled up all the time.
00:08:28.000 This works until the herd thins.
00:08:29.000 Remember Scar in Lion King?
00:08:31.000 So now they've come for American businesses.
00:08:33.000 It was really only a matter of time.
00:08:34.000 The second thing you need to rule with minority is money.
00:08:37.000 Lots of it.
00:08:37.000 You need the very deep pockets to fund you.
00:08:39.000 Yes.
00:08:39.000 And if they don't, you need them to sit quietly along the sidelines out of the way.
00:08:43.000 Well, there's a fellow named James Lindsay on Twitter and I'm going to attribute this saying to him because he's correct.
00:08:49.000 This is the Iron Law of Woke Projection.
00:08:52.000 Everything Abigail Disney says in this thread applies to Abigail Disney.
00:08:54.000 She's ungrateful.
00:08:56.000 She's biting the hand that feeds her in Disney.
00:08:58.000 She has benefited from big business.
00:09:00.000 She needs to keep people fed red meat about how bad her political opposition is.
00:09:05.000 And she needs lots and lots of money to fund her propaganda.
00:09:09.000 She said, until now, business has been content to do just that, i.e.
00:09:13.000 feed the right wing.
00:09:14.000 Or they compartmentalized, like sociopaths, when they funded folks like Dennis Baxley, who wrote the hateful Don't Say Gay Bill because, as the CEO claimed, he had no way of knowing he might vote for legislation like that.
00:09:26.000 Or else they have chosen silence.
00:09:27.000 Their silence brought us Donald Trump.
00:09:28.000 Apparently the racism and xenophobia and misogyny weren't deal breakers.
00:09:31.000 Their silence, or at least willingness to compartmentalize when it came to politicians who were willing to fight for their outrageous and multi-decade campaign to stack the deck against the American people brought us this whole raft of Trump wannabes now casting about for new and more insidious ways to tear the country apart.
00:09:47.000 She says, so now that the right wing and business agenda might actually be showing signs of parting ways, perhaps we might see the powerful lobbies of the various industries wondering which party was truly interested in supporting their interests.
00:09:56.000 Perhaps we will see lobbies lose faith in the devil's partnership they until now have relied so heavily upon to look after their subsidies, tax breaks, flouting of law and regulation.
00:10:04.000 Perhaps the right wing has finally bitten the hand that has been feeding its superfoods these last few decades.
00:10:10.000 And then she says that authenticity, generosity, joy, and decency were the heart and soul of the Disney brand.
00:10:15.000 Okay, well, I was unaware that the heart and soul of the Disney brand was feed LGBTQ plus minus I-A-M-N-B-V quotation mark ampersand.
00:10:26.000 Feeding that propaganda to small children was the Disney way.
00:10:29.000 I was unaware that this is what Walt Disney Company was founded upon.
00:10:31.000 If it had been founded upon that, it would not exist today, period.
00:10:34.000 She says, the cure for this isn't hard.
00:10:37.000 It also just happens to be the heart and soul of the Disney brand.
00:10:39.000 Disney has everything it needs to fight this threat.
00:10:41.000 If it only it will have the courage to weather the slings and arrows and threats and name calling.
00:10:44.000 If only leadership will check in with first principles.
00:10:47.000 If only they will show us that as a company that trades on the American right now, when it matters most of all, it will stand for those values with every fiber of their being.
00:10:54.000 Disney is so much bigger, means so much more to the American people than that little punk Chris Rufo can ever hope to mean.
00:10:59.000 Except of course, that Abigail Disney is the one who is wildly out of touch, and Disney was not founded on any of the values that she promulgates.
00:11:06.000 Any of them.
00:11:07.000 But this is what has happened to large swaths of corporate America.
00:11:10.000 There's the belief that not only must you stay silent.
00:11:13.000 Silence is violence.
00:11:14.000 You must become an active advocate for every element of the left-wing agenda.
00:11:17.000 And if you have not become an advocate for the left-wing agenda, then this means that you will be targeted and you should be targeted.
00:11:23.000 And this is how you end up with the stupidity of Oreo, which is a cookie company.
00:11:27.000 Oreo cookie company coming out with an ad today About people coming out to their parents.
00:11:33.000 Now before you say, wait a second, doesn't Oreo produce cookies?
00:11:37.000 Yeah, that's what I just said.
00:11:38.000 It's cookie company.
00:11:40.000 Now, the fact that I even note this, this is the game the left likes to play, the fact that I will even note this shows, ah, Shapiro, so outraged about the Oreo cookie ad.
00:11:48.000 I'm not outraged by the Oreo cookie ad.
00:11:51.000 Oreo can make whatever ad it wants.
00:11:52.000 It's a free country.
00:11:53.000 I'm outraged by the stupidity of the Oreo cookie ad because, again, they make cookies.
00:11:59.000 And all they seem to want to do these days is alienate people who disagree with them on pretty contentious political issues by becoming advocates for radical left-wing positions.
00:12:07.000 Again, I keep mentioning they're a cookie company because this is kind of the equivalent of during the Black Lives Matter riots when Gushers came out and made a statement about Black Lives Matter.
00:12:15.000 Like, oh, well, I was waiting to hear what Gushers had to say.
00:12:17.000 I was waiting to hear what the cookie that is mostly famous for being dipped in milk has to say about coming out.
00:12:26.000 But don't worry, guys.
00:12:27.000 It's not that these corporations have been captured and their massive influence has been turned on behalf of the left-wing radical agenda.
00:12:34.000 It's that you're responding and noticing.
00:12:35.000 That's the real problem.
00:12:36.000 So here is the Oreo ad, or at least some of it.
00:12:39.000 I think you're ready.
00:12:40.000 Ready.
00:12:42.000 Mom, are you ready?
00:12:44.000 I'm fine.
00:12:46.000 Tina, are you ready?
00:12:52.000 The parents are asked if they are ready.
00:12:59.000 they are ready.
00:13:01.000 Oh, it's time.
00:13:03.000 It's time to find out somebody's gay.
00:13:04.000 From a cookie company.
00:13:07.000 Don't know what this has to do with Oreo.
00:13:17.000 She might be my mother, but you are my son.
00:13:21.000 So everybody's very happy.
00:13:23.000 Don't worry, grandma will be accepting by the end of the video.
00:13:30.000 Because Oreos.
00:13:32.000 I don't know what Oreos have to do with any of this.
00:13:34.000 So, um, I wonder if they're airing this ad in China.
00:13:50.000 You think China's allowing this?
00:13:52.000 Coming out doesn't just happen once, says Oreo.
00:13:56.000 Oreo is proud.
00:13:58.000 Be a lifelong ally because of Oreos.
00:14:01.000 In collaboration with PFLAG.
00:14:03.000 I am very curious to find out whether China allows this ad to be distributed in China, since the ad is in Chinese.
00:14:09.000 I have some serious questions about whether that will happen.
00:14:11.000 But again, this is the whole idea.
00:14:13.000 All major corporations must be made to bow before Whatever is the radical left-wing ideology of the day.
00:14:20.000 And this is one of the great threats to the American way of life, is the attempt to take corporations, which should be answerable to their shareholders, and turn them into weapons on behalf of left-wing ideologies.
00:14:32.000 I talk about this a lot in my last book, The Authoritarian Moment, The Woke Capitalism Agenda.
00:14:37.000 Vivek Ramaswamy has written about this extensively, has a book called Woke Inc.
00:14:41.000 And he talks at Barry Weiss's Substack about this just a couple of months ago.
00:14:44.000 He says, Joe Biden has called conventional or shareholder capitalism a farce, saying corporations have a responsibility to workers, community, to the country.
00:14:51.000 Elizabeth Warren's accountability capitalism calls for higher wages and greater employee involvement in selecting boards of directors and making political contributions.
00:14:58.000 Al Gore has said that as the value of socially conscious capitalism gains traction, investors who fail to take it into account may be at risk of violating their fiduciary duty to their clients and presumably vulnerable to lawsuit.
00:15:09.000 Says Vivek, nor is stakeholder capitalism limited to politicians or progressive activists.
00:15:13.000 America's most powerful CEOs have embraced it.
00:15:15.000 In late 2019, the Business Roundtable, a lobbying group representing the country's biggest corporations, announced it was revising its statement of purpose with an eye toward stakeholders.
00:15:23.000 Jamie Dimon, the chairman and CEO of JPMorgan and the chairman of the Business Roundtable, wrote in a follow-up article in Time, quote, Capitalism has been the most successful economic system in history, but we can improve upon it to help solve society's problems and lift up more people.
00:15:36.000 And here's what Vivek points out.
00:15:38.000 Here's what stakeholder capitalists miss.
00:15:40.000 Once corporations become vehicles to further an agenda other than shareholder value, they become vehicles to advance any agenda, even including those of foreign adversaries.
00:15:47.000 So, for example, the Chinese Communist Party has become a key stakeholder in many American multinationals, from Nike to Visa to BlackRock.
00:15:54.000 It's now flexing its muscles in ways that strengthen China's interests at the expense of American ones.
00:15:59.000 Okay, so the simple fact is that the minute that you say, it's stakeholders everywhere who have a stake in what Disney does, not just the shareholders.
00:16:05.000 At that exact point, things start to get extremely ugly for the future of these companies.
00:16:11.000 Because now they are not being run by people who are interested in the success of the companies.
00:16:15.000 They're being run by people who are willing to watch the success of the companies go completely sideways so that they can push a particular political agenda.
00:16:24.000 So the takeover of Corporate America is really quite devastating, not because corporate America was right-wing.
00:16:31.000 In many ways, it was not.
00:16:32.000 It's because corporate America was apolitical, and now it has been wildly, wildly politicized.
00:16:38.000 All these corporations forgot what got them there, and that is why they are engaging in stakeholder capitalism.
00:16:42.000 Well, don't forget what brought you to this point.
00:16:45.000 Those are all embedded in your memories.
00:16:46.000 And those memories are now embedded in your garage.
00:16:49.000 And they're falling prey to degradation over time.
00:16:51.000 You got water that's been leaking from the roof of your garage into the photo box.
00:16:55.000 None of this is good.
00:16:56.000 Instead, do the thing that I did for my parents.

00:17:58.000 And well, the good news is that the pushback is now beginning.
00:18:00.000 So Elon Musk, today, he announced that he had bought 9.2% of Twitter.
00:18:06.000 According to the Washington Post, Elon Musk became the largest shareholder of Twitter on Monday, setting the platform up for a potential political showdown over its efforts to limit harmful content, efforts the firebrand Tesla chief executive has indicated that he sees hastening a turn toward censorship.
00:18:20.000 His surprise investment comes days after questioning the company's commitment to free speech, While it was not immediately clear what role Musk plans to play, analysts speculated he might try for an activist restructuring that could change the way Twitter polices its platform as well as who it banishes.
00:18:38.000 Some inside Twitter worry that Musk may push Twitter in a libertarian direction.
00:18:42.000 Oh, you wouldn't want a free speech platform to be pushed in a libertarian direction, obviously.
00:18:46.000 It has to remain woke.
00:18:48.000 They're afraid he may push Twitter away from blocking or restricting accounts that cause social harm, according to people familiar with internal conversations who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive matters.
00:18:58.000 Just days after Twitter banned former President Trump in the wake of the Capitol insurrection, Musk wrote on Twitter, quote, a lot of people are going to be super unhappy with West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech.
00:19:08.000 Some Twitter employees and experts fear Musk's involvement could also push the company further into chaos after years of investor activism and the sudden departure of former chief executive Jack Dorsey.
00:19:18.000 Musk has a 9.2% stake in the social media company, which was disclosed in an SEC commission filing, and sent shares up 27%.
00:19:26.000 His stake is worth nearly $2.9 billion, and now dwarfs that of Jack Dorsey, who owns 2.3% of Twitter.
00:19:35.000 Dan Ives, the managing director at Wedbush Security, said Musk's passive stake could be just the beginning.
00:19:40.000 Rather than starting a competing social media platform, it looks like Elon has his eyes laser-set on Twitter.
00:19:45.000 Ives estimates that Musk, the world's richest man, will eventually pursue an active stake and take a much more aggressive role.
00:19:52.000 And of course, Musk tweeted just last month, quote, given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.
00:20:02.000 So good for Elon Musk.
00:20:05.000 And this is great.
00:20:06.000 I mean, it's scaring the living crap out of all the people who are woke-ifying major institutions in American life.
00:20:11.000 And this is the way you fight back, the way that you fight back against the left.
00:20:14.000 is you actually take advantage of the fact that you can buy stock in these companies.
00:20:20.000 You actually use your market power.
00:20:22.000 Musk has unbelievable market power, and so now he could open up Twitter.
00:20:24.000 That is a great move by Elon Musk on behalf of the country.
00:20:27.000 Forget about his stock portfolio.
00:20:29.000 It's a fantastic move on behalf of the country, which requires a more open discourse.
00:20:35.000 I'm happy to see the fact that when it comes to Disney, families are now announcing that they are canceling Disney trips, which they should.
00:20:41.000 Now when it comes to Disney openly saying that they are going to mainline a bunch of left-wing propaganda into children's programming, people should think twice about whether they wish to consume Disney products.
00:20:52.000 And they should think twice about whether they maybe want to take a look at some of the Daily Wire programming or other programming.
00:20:57.000 Whether they wish to redirect their dollars.
00:21:01.000 According to the Daily Wire's Mary Margaret Olihan, She reports on a bunch of different families who've been canceling.
00:21:09.000 One resident of Orange County said, quote, it saddens me to think that the magic that was part of my life and my wife's life will not be part of theirs.
00:21:14.000 But he says the only way we can effectively voice our opinion to a company like Disney is to refuse to do business with them.
00:21:19.000 For us, that means canceling Disney Plus, canceling Disney Movie Club, deleting Disney Insider membership, boycotting any and all creative works put forth by Disney.
00:21:26.000 I'm not sorry for our decision.
00:21:27.000 Can't even pity a company for making such a poor decision when they have enough clout to do whatever the hell they want.
00:21:31.000 And this is the direction they've decided to move in.
00:21:34.000 And again, I think there are tons and tons of parents who are moving in this direction.
00:21:39.000 Lots of parents are taking a second thought and a second look at whether they wish to be the people who are sponsoring this sort of content.
00:21:47.000 It is only the pushback that is going to change the math here.
00:21:49.000 And the pushback needs to happen in every area.
00:21:51.000 Because as the woke win, society gets a hell of a lot worse.
00:21:55.000 And we've talked before about the fact that when it comes to, for example, transgender women, meaning biological males competing with women in women's sports, that until women stand up, there's not a lot men can do.
00:22:06.000 I can tell you that I think it's a terrible idea for Leah Thomas, a dude, to compete with the ladies.
00:22:11.000 I can tell you that until I'm blue in the face.
00:22:12.000 But as long as women continue to get in the pool and pretend that Leah Thomas is, in fact, a woman who should be racing against them, I can't be more stringent on your behalf than you are on your own behalf.
00:22:22.000 So I was glad to see, for example, that, according to Daily Wire, a biologically male cyclist who now identifies as female was barred from competing in a women's championship race this weekend following threats of boycott from female competitors.
00:22:33.000 Emily Bridges, who formerly competed against men as Zach Bridges, was cut from the Women's British National Omnium Championship on Saturday.
00:22:40.000 That would have been Bridges' first race against women.
00:22:42.000 The athlete only began hormone therapy last year, according to the BBC.
00:22:47.000 Bridges was only determined to be ineligible to compete by the UCI after women threatened to boycott the race.
00:22:52.000 The Guardian reported that Bridges, who set a national junior men's record over 25 miles in 2018, had been due to compete against several British Olympians, including Dame Laura Kenny in her first race in the women's category, meaning his first race in the women's category.
00:23:06.000 But the UCI ruled that the 21-year-old was not currently compliant with its regulations, as she is still registered as a male cyclist and therefore cannot compete as a woman.
00:23:14.000 The Guardian noted that UCI's decision came amid a growing backlash from within the sport, but The Guardian understanding a number of female riders were talking about boycotting the event, which is exactly what should happen.
00:23:24.000 The pushback is all that is going to save the country at this point.
00:23:28.000 And the pushback is going to happen.
00:23:29.000 There are a lot of people out there who know what time it is.
00:23:32.000 They know that it's time for the pushback.
00:23:34.000 Well, one company that can help you.

00:25:03.000 Now the left doesn't have any pushback to the pushback.
00:25:05.000 So here is their big problem.
00:25:08.000 Every way they push back is dumber and dumber.
00:25:10.000 Okay, so CNN, they continue to push the idea that if you just don't want your small children sexually indoctrinated at the age of five, this is because you're a bigot.
00:25:19.000 So here's yet another chyron from CNN, the most trusted name in news and reliable sources, the most reliable of all the sources with Brian Stelter.
00:25:26.000 Here's the chyron from the other day, quote, focus on parental rights, chips away at gay rights.
00:25:31.000 I have a question.
00:25:32.000 Is this a battle that gay Americans really want to have?
00:25:35.000 Do gay advocates really want to go to war with parents?
00:25:38.000 Do they really want to say that parents, who outnumber gay Americans by an extraordinary measure, really are threatened by gay rights to the point where we have to curb parental rights in order to make room for the agenda of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or PFLAG?
00:25:54.000 Or whatever woke employees at Disney have to say this week.
00:25:57.000 Is this really the direction that they want to go?
00:26:00.000 Because if so, they are going to lose.
00:26:02.000 And yet the politicians keep doubling down on this, the Democratic politicians.
00:26:05.000 So for example, Eric Adams is presiding over a city where people are routinely being pushed in front of subways.
00:26:10.000 And Eric Adams decided to tweet out I kid you not, a poster just filled with the word gay in multi-colored fonts.
00:26:21.000 And because no one knows that word.
00:26:23.000 I mean, if there's one thing in America we've never talked about is gay people.
00:26:27.000 It's shocking.
00:26:27.000 No one's ever heard the word gay before.
00:26:29.000 And he tweeted out, quote, New York mayor announces a new digital billboard campaign in five Florida markets denouncing the hateful don't say gay law and inviting Floridians to move to New York.
00:26:38.000 And it says on this poster, quote, Come to the city where you can say whatever you want.
00:26:43.000 New York City loves you with the rainbow flag.
00:26:46.000 And then he says, we have a message for Florida's LGBTQ plus community.
00:26:49.000 Come to a city where you can be you.
00:26:51.000 Join us now at City Hall.
00:26:53.000 So first of all, anybody who falls for this, please, I agree.
00:26:56.000 Seriously, if you believe that Florida is a hellscape because we wish to protect small children from predations of leftist social activists, please go.
00:27:05.000 Like, the door is open.
00:27:07.000 Anytime you wish to, Take that plane right up to New York and hang out with Eric Adams and hang out on the subway platforms over there with Eric Adams.
00:27:14.000 You are more than welcome to do so.
00:27:15.000 Seriously, enjoy the homelessness and the high taxation and the possibility of being thrown in front of a train.
00:27:20.000 Like really, New York is wide open to you.
00:27:23.000 It is all you.
00:27:24.000 Anybody who wishes to go from Florida to New York, Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
00:27:29.000 Seriously.
00:27:30.000 Just enjoy yourself.
00:27:31.000 I would also like to point out at this point that Eric Adams says you can say anything you want in New York, which is a weird thing to say considering that according to the New York Post today, quote, the big apple mom who crashed Mayor Eric Adams's press conference on Monday to blast him over his taut mask mandate was fired shortly thereafter from her job at the city law department, according to the New York Post.
00:27:49.000 Daniela Jampol, who served as the assistant corporation counsel, learned she was canned on Monday afternoon, soon after she confronted a caught off guard and apparently annoyed Adams over whether he would unmask our toddlers.
00:28:01.000 Jampel had publicly challenged the mayor at an unrelated event on LGBTQ issues as Adams stood in front of a podium banner that read, come to the city where you can say whatever you want.
00:28:09.000 Jampel said, three weeks ago, you told parents to trust you, you don't mask our toddlers.
00:28:12.000 You stood right here.
00:28:13.000 You said the mask would come off April 4th.
00:28:15.000 That hasn't happened.
00:28:16.000 As Jampel attempted to ask why, city hall staffers tried to cut her off when they realized she wasn't a reporter.
00:28:21.000 But Adams seemingly miffed at the mom getting a question and allowed her to continue, although he told her she needed to come to a conclusion.
00:28:27.000 Sources close to the matter said Jampal was informed by email shortly after the presser that she was fired.
00:28:34.000 So, yeah, this is a city where you can say anything you want unless you cross swords with Eric Adams, in which case he will fire you from your job for asking why he is masking toddlers.
00:28:43.000 Again, the left is so disconnected from reality, but do it.
00:28:46.000 Seriously, do it.
00:28:46.000 Advertise all over Florida that Florida is a hellscape for gays and lesbians, and anybody who's stupid enough to believe that can move to New York.
00:28:55.000 I want more of this.
00:28:57.000 Honestly, can Eric Adams put up billions of dollars and put those billboards up everywhere in purple and red state America?
00:29:03.000 Please.
00:29:04.000 Can I pay Eric Adams to do this?
00:29:06.000 This seems like a great recruitment effort to get all of the insane blue state voters out of states that are on that knife's edge of purple.
00:29:14.000 And meanwhile, speaking of people who are completely disconnected, Jen Psaki still can't even answer whether men should be allowed to race women.
00:29:19.000 So yeah, this party is definitely in touch with reality.
00:29:23.000 In some places, like the Ivy League now, there are biological males competing against women.
00:29:29.000 Does the White House think that is fair?
00:29:31.000 We understand how important sports are to student-athletes across the country, but the NCAA obviously puts these policies in place.
00:29:39.000 What I would say, Peter, if we look at this broadly, is that we celebrated International Transgender Day of Visibility last week with a slate of new actions to ensure we are continuing We continue to protect the dignity and identity of all Americans and at a moment where we're looking at and we're seeing increased mental health issues related to young people, especially LGBTQ plus young people, we're providing additional funding and resources to address this issue.
00:30:06.000 So yeah, she's not going to answer whether boys should compete with girls.
00:30:08.000 Also, has it ever occurred to anybody that perhaps the increased mental health issues that are associated with young people across America has to do with the simple fact that the left wing has been pushing insane social policy on young children?
00:30:19.000 That maybe when you tell a bunch of young people that in their search for sexual authenticity at the age of 11 lies happiness, that maybe this doesn't actually end with happiness.
00:30:29.000 It just ends with people who are having a really, really tough time in life.
00:30:32.000 Because the left has been on the social ascendancy for the last 20 years in this country.
00:30:35.000 And yet, people seem unhappier, and more depressed, and more suicidal.
00:30:38.000 Could that be a coincidence?
00:30:40.000 Or perhaps it's not a coincidence at all.
00:30:43.000 But for these folks, it's always just double down on stupid.
00:30:46.000 And double down on perverse.
00:30:47.000 This is the way that the left thinks these days.
00:30:49.000 Now speaking of doubling down on stupid, the Biden administration continues to try to whistle its way past the graveyard with regard to the economy.
00:30:57.000 So Joe Biden, yesterday, he's continuing to go out there and pretend that the economy is doing great.
00:31:03.000 So he's standing in front of a couple of Mack trucks, which is weird.
00:31:08.000 And he said that we are in the middle of a record-breaking economic conambadoo.
00:31:12.000 Unemployment's at 3.6 percent, down from 6.4 when we took office.
00:31:17.000 The fastest decline in unemployment at the start of any presidential term ever recorded.
00:31:22.000 And after a long stretch, Americans are back to work.
00:31:26.000 Americans are back to work.
00:31:27.000 And the economy has gone from being on the mend to being on the move.
00:31:32.000 And the economy we're building, we're building a strong economy.
00:31:36.000 One where hardworking Americans can live with dignity, support their families, build a better life, and a better life for their children as well.
00:31:44.000 Yeah, he almost fell down at this point in the speech.
00:31:46.000 Jennifer Rubin was there to try to fluff Joe Biden through this one.
00:31:50.000 And so she put out a piece, and I kid you not, this is the headline of the piece from the Washington Post, quote, If it weren't for inflation, this president's economic performance would be unmatched.
00:32:01.000 And if it weren't for a dramatic lack of IQ points, Jennifer Rubin might be Albert Einstein.
00:32:07.000 And if it weren't for O.J.
00:32:08.000 Simpson murdering his ex-wife, then he might have won the Nobel Peace Prize that year.
00:32:13.000 If it weren't for inflation, this president's economic performance would be unmatched.
00:32:20.000 That's how much they need the help of the media on this one.
00:32:23.000 By the way, I just have to bring you this wonderful story of Joe Biden being a truck driver.
00:32:28.000 So Joe Biden, again, talk about disconnected from reality.
00:32:31.000 He told a story about how he was once a truck driver.
00:32:33.000 I have some bad news for Joe Biden.
00:32:34.000 He was never a truck driver.
00:32:37.000 During the trucker strike years later, when I was a young senator, there was a guy who ran steel from Deamer Steel out to Ohio.
00:32:47.000 And so I decided to ride out with him to see what it was like on the stripe.
00:32:51.000 And I was driving, going through Shiloh, Ohio.
00:32:53.000 And his handle was Big Ten.
00:32:57.000 He called and he said, Big Ten wanting to come in.
00:32:59.000 I forget exactly how he said it.
00:33:01.000 And the only woman truck driver I ever knew I met that day, she said, this is Big Mama, no room.
00:33:09.000 Swear to God, true story.
00:33:10.000 I used to drive a truck.
00:33:11.000 It's a long story.
00:33:12.000 Anyway.
00:33:13.000 Me and Big Mama and Corn Pop had a baby.
00:33:15.000 And that baby was me.
00:33:17.000 I was a trucker, driving along with Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, and a monkey.
00:33:24.000 Just driving across the country.
00:33:25.000 Me and Big Mama over here.
00:33:27.000 And Big Mama down by the... Big Mama, she said, ain't no room over here.
00:33:32.000 Big Joe.
00:33:34.000 And I said, Dad, those two gay men just love each other.
00:33:41.000 Oh, R.C.
00:33:42.000 Nile President, things are going great.
00:33:44.000 By the way, again, Jen Rubin informed me that aside from inflation, things are going amazing.
00:33:48.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, household staples are no longer immune to inflation.
00:33:51.000 American consumers are starting to cut costs on mainstays, from toothpaste to baby formula, as inflation hits a swath of the economy that had thus far proven resistant to substantial price increases.
00:34:01.000 Procter & Gamble, Clorox, Kraft Heinz, and other consumer products giants have made a bet that consumers will pay up for household products even as inflation takes hold.
00:34:08.000 Over the past year, the companies have seen profits in market share grow as they've raised prices on products from detergents and diapers to snacks and soda.
00:34:14.000 Now, consumers are drawing a line.
00:34:16.000 Shoppers are buying staples in smaller quantities, switching to cheaper store-name brands, more rigorously hunting for deals.
00:34:21.000 The shift is especially pronounced among lower-income consumers who splurged on household products early in the pandemic.
00:34:27.000 Private label brands, after two years in which they lost market share, have begun to lure back buyers.
00:34:31.000 In other words, people are now buying off-brand products because inflation is pinching them so tightly at this point.
00:34:36.000 But other than that, at least Joe Biden once had a conversation across the ham radio with Big Mamadang.
00:34:44.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, the most recently available inflation data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show the inflation rate had risen to 7.9%, a four-decade high, with oil and commodity market disruptions from Ukraine expected to add more cost pressures as well.
00:34:57.000 Meanwhile, just to make sure that things continue to be crappy from here and for the foreseeable future, Apparently, everybody is continuing to borrow money at exorbitant rates.
00:35:05.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, a surge in food and fuel prices is now raising pressure on governments around the world to pick up the tab for consumers, stretching precarious public finances and intensifying political instability in the shakiest economies.
00:35:16.000 Spooked by protests that have broken out recently from Bangkok to Sicily, many governments have adopted subsidies or tax breaks to shield households and businesses from the soaring prices.
00:35:25.000 But those handouts are boosting already high government debt just as borrowing costs are rising.
00:35:29.000 For some countries, the increase may prove too difficult to afford, raising the specter of political unrest and or bankruptcy for a lot of these countries.
00:35:37.000 So, basically the world economy is on the verge as well.
00:35:42.000 Many economists say subsidies are often politically difficult to withdraw when they've outlived their purpose.
00:35:46.000 The IMF has said they tend to benefit richer households that consume more energy.
00:35:50.000 Gas and oil subsidies could also undermine a planned shift away from fossil fuels.
00:35:54.000 For emerging markets in particular, the cost of often depleted public coffers is an issue.
00:35:58.000 Emerging economies have to refinance debt worth about $7 trillion this year, up from $5.5 trillion in 2021, which is a shock considering that, again, this is the year when COVID basically went away on the world stage.
00:36:09.000 So, except for the inflation, the economy is doing great guns under Joe Biden.
00:36:12.000 By the way, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, he says that massive risks await for the United States economy.
00:36:19.000 He offered a largely upbeat view of the economy's health in an annual letter to shareholders on Monday, but he warned that the war in Ukraine could collide with rising inflation to slow the pandemic recovery and alter global alliances for decades to come.
00:36:31.000 He says, while it's possible that all of these events will have peaceful resolutions, we should prepare for the potential negative outcomes as well.
00:36:37.000 And there's a major shift from Dimon, who last April said he saw a chance for an economic Goldilocks moment, which means fast sustained growth alongside low inflation and low interest rates.
00:36:47.000 He says, in hindsight, yeah, the medicine was probably too much and lasted too long.
00:36:51.000 So well done, Joe Biden.
00:36:53.000 So as Jamie Dimon says, the economy is in real trouble.
00:36:56.000 Inflation is a real problem and the interest rates are set to rise.
00:36:58.000 So now would be the best time ever to do that mortgage refi.

00:38:00.000 Alrighty, Andrew Klavan has a brand new book.
00:38:05.000 That book, The Truth and Beauty.
00:38:07.000 After years of studying the Gospels and trying to find the true meaning in Jesus' words, Klavan is ready to share what he has found out.
00:38:12.000 It's for people who are seeking to find renewed meaning in their faith, or maybe they're striving for belief in a materialistic world.
00:38:18.000 It's really a wonderfully written book.
00:38:20.000 The book isn't just good.
00:38:21.000 It's really important because, frankly, you know, if you're a Christian, you could use a better understanding of the Gospels because I think in any faith, you can use a better understanding of your own faith.
00:38:30.000 If there's ever been a time that Christians need a book like this, it is right now.
00:38:33.000 Head on over to Amazon or wherever you buy books.
00:38:35.000 Order your copy of The Truth and Beauty today.
00:38:37.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:38:46.000 So meanwhile, the Democrats are going to get what they want.
00:38:49.000 Ketanji Brown-Jackson will end up on the Supreme Court.
00:38:52.000 But they're very, very angry because they say that she was treated with grave disrespect.
00:38:57.000 So much disrespect, by the way, that Mitt Romney says that he's going to vote for her, which, by the way, is unjustifiable.
00:39:01.000 There have been times where I've taken unpopular positions in defense of sort of Mitt Romney.
00:39:06.000 Not this time.
00:39:07.000 So Mitt Romney, the senator from Utah, he came out and said that he would support Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court.
00:39:12.000 He said, quote, after reviewing Judge Jackson's record and testimony, I've concluded she's a well qualified jurist and a person of honor.
00:39:18.000 I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the court.
00:39:21.000 I believe she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity.
00:39:24.000 I congratulate Judge Jackson on her expected confirmation and look forward to her continued service to our nation.
00:39:28.000 So here is the thing.
00:39:29.000 Once the left has decided that they are openly just going to nominate political activists to positions of high power, no Republican should ever vote for a Democratic nominee to the high court.
00:39:38.000 Not unless that person can somehow demonstrate that they are not beholden to the far left.
00:39:41.000 This woman said in a confirmation hearing she does not know what a woman is.
00:39:44.000 I'm sorry, the answer is no.
00:39:46.000 The answer is no.
00:39:47.000 And Mitt Romney, for all of his comedy and compliance in the Senate, has won how many friends over from the Democratic side of the aisle?
00:39:54.000 What has he accomplished that requires him here to back Ketanji Brown-Jackson for the Supreme Court?
00:39:59.000 I know it's Lisa Murkowski.
00:40:05.000 Let's just say that he is living in an era that does not exist where Katonji Brown Jackson should be on the Supreme Court.
00:40:10.000 Frankly, that era has not existed since Roe vs. Wade.
00:40:13.000 As soon as the politicization of the Warren Court became completely overt, and really since the takeover of the Supreme Court by FDR pressure, In the 1940s, the Supreme Court has been a tool for the left, and the attempt to turn the Supreme Court back into an august institution in American life has been somewhat of a joke.
00:40:28.000 So no points to Mitt Romney for all of this.
00:40:31.000 With that said, I'm amazed at how the media really do yeoman's work on behalf of Democrats.
00:40:36.000 It really is an astonishing thing.
00:40:37.000 So supposedly, Katonji Brown Jackson really had it hard.
00:40:40.000 She was asked very basic questions like, what is a woman?
00:40:42.000 And also, why were you sentencing people to Lower than recommended sentences, particularly if they were involved in sex crime.
00:40:47.000 So what's the deal with that?
00:40:49.000 This apparently was very bad.
00:40:50.000 So we got Whoopi Goldberg out there saying that how could anyone ask her a tough question?
00:40:54.000 Judge Jackson, after all, she is a black woman.
00:40:56.000 And if you ask a black woman a question, it means that you don't like black women, apparently.
00:40:59.000 Just say, I don't trust a black woman to do the job.
00:41:03.000 Because I know that y'all didn't have these same issues with Amy Coney Barrett.
00:41:10.000 You didn't ask those questions, you didn't have those problems.
00:41:12.000 And when Amy Coney Barrett answered the same way that Judge Katani Brown did when you asked her if you thought they were going to need more people on the Supreme Court, nobody seemed to have a problem with her answer.
00:41:28.000 So it's all about Ketanji Brown Jackson, of course, being black, Ana Navarro, and the luminaries, the intellectual luminaries of The View continue to astonish and amaze.
00:41:35.000 Here's Ana Navarro, the titular Republican on the show, pretending that the Republicans have made a grave error by failing to vote in large numbers for a woman who is a radical leftist for the Supreme Court.
00:41:47.000 They feel bad because they know she's going to be the justice.
00:41:50.000 Not bad enough.
00:41:51.000 Well, they feel bad because she's going to have the 50 votes.
00:41:53.000 She's going to be the justice.
00:41:54.000 And they are going to have missed the historical moment of voting for the first black woman.
00:41:59.000 And they're going to go down in history as having been against the first black woman justice, which is a big moment for this country.
00:42:07.000 Whomever likes it, fine.
00:42:08.000 Whomever dislikes it, fine.
00:42:09.000 Whether you accept it, you acknowledge it.
00:42:11.000 It is a huge historical moment over almost 240 years of the Supreme Court.
00:42:15.000 Well, you don't want to deal with it.
00:42:18.000 So whether you like it or whether you dislike it, you have to like it or you're bad.
00:42:22.000 Ana Navarro, brilliant logician, right there.
00:42:24.000 By the way, I don't remember Ana Navarro or anyone else on that program being particularly upset when the Democrats stifled the D.C.
00:42:30.000 court nomination of Janice Rogers Brown, who was largely seen as being prepared for a Supreme Court slot from a Republican president.
00:42:38.000 I don't remember them being particularly upset.
00:42:40.000 How many Democrats voted against Clarence Thomas, who's a black man?
00:42:43.000 A lot.
00:42:44.000 So, yeah, I don't buy any of this.
00:42:46.000 Charlotte Clymer, who can always be counted on for the dumbest possible take, tweeted out, It's true.
00:42:49.000 Let me be clear, no Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance the nomination of Judge Katonji Brown-Jackson not because she isn't highly qualified, she is, or a lack of character, no, but because their base doesn't want a black woman with her views on the Supreme Court.
00:43:03.000 And it's true, so true.
00:43:05.000 I mean, it's only because they opposed her on the basis of race, which is why they also opposed Merrick Garland and literally did not give him an up or down vote.
00:43:13.000 It's because he also was a black woman, Merrick Garland.
00:43:14.000 I'll bet you didn't know that.
00:43:15.000 I'll bet you didn't remember that Merrick Garland was a black woman.
00:43:18.000 You thought he was just a white guy that was nominated by Barack Obama and Mitch McConnell didn't give him a vote.
00:43:22.000 Secretly, however, he was in fact a black woman.
00:43:24.000 So just more Republican racism.
00:43:26.000 So here is the thing.
00:43:27.000 This sort of sycophantic media coverage from so many members of the media, there's a reason why Democrats require it.
00:43:33.000 They require it because if they don't have their echo chamber, they really don't have much of anything.
00:43:38.000 Which is why, of course, Joe Biden, according to an upcoming book by a pair of New York Times reporters, Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, apparently Joe Biden believes Fox News is, quote, one of the most destructive forces in the United States.
00:43:48.000 Listen, I'm old enough to remember when there was a president named Trump in office and he suggested that his political opponents in the press were the enemies of the people.
00:43:55.000 Remember this.
00:43:56.000 It was very bad.
00:43:57.000 Every time he said something bad about CNN, it was a threat to the free press of the United States.
00:44:01.000 Here you have the sitting president of the United States saying that the network that is most opposed to his policies is one of the most destructive forces in the United States and crickets and crickets.
00:44:12.000 According to Martin and Burns, who also work as political analysts on CNN, they're the authors of This Will Not Pass, Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future, set to be released in May.
00:44:19.000 Apparently, Rupert Murdoch, Biden told an associate last year, is, quote, the most dangerous man in the world.
00:44:27.000 The book describes Fox as a torrent of anti-Biden programming, stoking skepticism about vaccines, disseminating wild conspiracy theories about the January 6th attack.
00:44:36.000 Many Biden allies have denounced Fox for those reasons, and have blamed Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan for enabling hosts like Tucker Carlson But according to the book, Joe Biden is very, very angry.
00:44:46.000 Very angry indeed.
00:44:48.000 With Rupert Murdoch and with Fox News more generally.
00:44:51.000 That is not a threat to the free press, that Joe Biden is angry at Fox News.
00:44:54.000 It's only a threat to the free press when Donald Trump is angry at CNN.
00:44:58.000 Which, of course, is why the entire left is now trumpeting a new study.
00:45:02.000 What does the study show?
00:45:03.000 It shows that if you pay people to watch CNN, shockingly, they start to reflect the views of CNN some more.
00:45:10.000 Matthew Iglesias has a piece over at the Washington Post titled, What If Fox News Viewers Watched CNN Instead?
00:45:17.000 So he says, it's worth noting that in a famous study published 15 years ago, economists showed exposure to Fox could have a measurable impact on elections.
00:45:25.000 It's a slightly different question how watching Fox affects someone's views of day-to-day controversies of politics, however.
00:45:30.000 One view is that Fox is such an echo chamber it can't possibly be changing minds.
00:45:33.000 A pretty big difference, however, as it turns out, can be made according to a new study by political scientists David Brookman of Stanford and Joshua Calla of Yale.
00:45:41.000 The research offers a much more granular look at the impact of Fox on its viewers thanks to reliance on a resource-intensive experiment rather than the broad aggregates of earlier papers.
00:45:50.000 Brookman and Kahla recruited a sample of regular Fox News viewers and paid a subset of them to watch CNN instead.
00:45:55.000 Compliance was enforced with news quizzes, for which additional compensation was offered.
00:45:59.000 Then, the treatment group of switchers and the control group of non-switchers took three waves of surveys about the news.
00:46:03.000 The results?
00:46:04.000 Not only did CNN cover different things during the September 2020 survey period, But the audience who committed Fox viewers, which started the month with conservative predispositions, changed their minds on many issues.
00:46:14.000 Switchers were five percentage points more likely to believe people suffer from long COVID, and six points more likely to believe that many foreign countries did a better job than the United States of controlling the virus.
00:46:23.000 There were seven points more likely to support voting by mail.
00:46:25.000 There were 10 points less likely to believe supporters of Joe Biden were happy when police officers get shot, et cetera, et cetera.
00:46:31.000 Okay, so here is the thing.
00:46:32.000 This is why the left would like to limit the reach of Fox.
00:46:35.000 This is the whole point.
00:46:37.000 The solution isn't, how do we make CNN more watchable?
00:46:40.000 Or how do we create things that drive Fox News viewers to maybe take a look at our programming?
00:46:44.000 Instead it's, how do we compel people to not watch Fox News anymore?
00:46:49.000 That's the end goal.
00:46:50.000 Because the converse here is that if you paid people from CNN to watch Fox News, presumably their views would change as well.
00:46:55.000 And so the pitch battle must be had in the media, and the people you don't like must be shut up.
00:47:00.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today with an additional hour of content.
