00:00:00.000 So, here is a headline from CBS this morning, quote,
00:00:19.000 Stop the presses!
00:00:20.000 Here's some other media headlines about this horrifying story.
00:00:22.000 ICE detains domestic violence victim in El Paso court.
00:00:25.000 Huffington Post.
00:00:26.000 ICE reportedly detained a domestic abuse victim who sought court protection.
00:00:30.000 Newser.
00:00:30.000 ICE agents arrest woman in domestic violence court.
00:00:33.000 New York Magazine.
00:00:34.000 ICE arrests domestic violence victim at Texas courthouse.
00:00:36.000 The Washington Post.
00:00:37.000 This is really unprecedented.
00:00:39.000 ICE detains woman seeking domestic abuse protection at Texas courthouse.
00:00:42.000 Even Fox News.
00:00:44.000 ICE agents reported arrest alleged domestic violence victim at Texas courthouse.
00:00:48.000 Now, here's how the headline should actually have read.
00:00:51.000 ICE agents arrest repeatedly convicted criminal for deportation at courthouse.
00:00:56.000 The transgender woman in question has been deported six times before and voluntarily returned to Mexico one other time.
00:01:03.000 Here is the rap sheet for the transgender woman from 2013.
00:01:06.000 Assault, probation violence, domestic violence, false imprisonment of a minor.
00:01:11.000 That information, which seems sort of important, is buried in the second-to-last paragraph of a 19-paragraph CBS News story.
00:01:18.000 The Washington Post buried it in paragraph 10.
00:01:22.000 The Huffington Post didn't mention it at all.
00:01:25.000 All of the stories mentioned a comment from the county prosecutor, who said that ICE knew about the deportee's location because of an anonymous tip.
00:01:31.000 The prosecutor suggested the tip came from the alleged domestic abuser, but then admitted she had no specific information that would lead her to that conclusion.
00:01:38.000 There are provisions, by the way, in U.S.
00:01:39.000 law that apparently prevent arrest of someone for immigration status based solely on reports from a domestic abuser.
00:01:44.000 But you don't get the whole story from the media.
00:01:46.000 Particularly not from their headlines.
00:01:48.000 The crusade is now on to find victims of the supposedly Gestapo-esque Trump immigration enforcement policy.
00:01:54.000 And the media won't let inconvenient facts like repeat criminality of the arrested stand in the way.
00:01:58.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:01:59.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:02:04.000 It's mailbag day!
00:02:06.000 Yeah, we're gonna get to the mailbag today.
00:02:07.000 Everybody is very excited about all of it, but we'll get to that in just a second.
00:02:11.000 First, we have to say thank you to our advertisers over at Zeal.
00:02:14.000 So, if you are somebody who is desperately in need of a massage, and I am one of these people, I will admit, I get very stressed, and I require massages from time to time, Zeal is the place where you go to zeal.com, and you can get a massage at your house, they come to your house,
00:02:32.000 They cater to you, and you can choose the kind of masseuse that you want, the type of massage.
00:02:38.000 It's on demand, it's at home.
00:02:40.000 I tried out, actually, my mother-in-law came into town, and I was supposed to get the massage from Zeal, and instead, because I was a good son-in-law, I gave it to my mother-in-law.
00:02:47.000 Our relationship has never been better.
00:02:49.000 It worked out.
00:02:49.000 Great.
00:02:50.000 Our listeners get $25 off their first massage by using the promo code BEN at checkout at zeal.com.
00:02:56.000 Right now it costs about on average 20 to 50 percent less than if you go to a local spa or hotel.
00:03:00.000 Plus you don't have to actually go there and wait for an appointment.
00:03:02.000 You actually make the appointment online on the app and then they come to your house and the masseuses are absolutely first rate.
00:03:09.000 It's like bringing a spa into your house.
00:03:11.000 They bring
00:03:11.000 We're good to go.
00:03:40.000 They're the first and leading same-day in-home massage company and I can vouch for their quality because, as I say, my mother-in-law has never been happy for having stolen a massage that was allotted to me.
00:03:51.000 In any case, we begin.
00:03:52.000 So, lots of good Trump, lots of bad Trump.
00:03:55.000 Donald Trump has been a very, very busy president over the last 24 hours.
00:03:59.000 So we begin.
00:04:01.000 So we begin.
00:04:01.000 Okay, so let's start with, let's play the good Trump, bad Trump thing.
00:04:04.000 We haven't done that in at least three hours.
00:04:07.000 Let's do that.
00:04:15.000 Yes, indeedy-do!
00:04:16.000 It's time for some Good Trump, Bad Trump, and... Who's coming?
00:04:19.000 Who's coming?
00:04:19.000 Boom!
00:04:20.000 It's Good Trump!
00:04:20.000 Yes!
00:04:21.000 He's back!
00:04:22.000 So, after a week of stupidity about Michael Flynn, we now actually get some Good Trump.
00:04:25.000 And not just Good Trump, Great Trump.
00:04:27.000 This is the best that Trump has looked in his presidency since he picked Neil Gorsuch.
00:04:31.000 Here's where Trump is actually really good.
00:04:32.000 When Trump has these sort of pre-scheduled events with people that he likes, and he gets to play the triumphant conqueror,
00:04:40.000 Great.
00:04:41.000 Great.
00:04:41.000 You know, with Neil Gorsuch, that event was beautifully staged, beautifully managed, he handled himself well.
00:04:46.000 And then he did it with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, yesterday.
00:04:48.000 So Netanyahu shows up after eight long years of being out in the cold thanks to President Barack I'm-not-real-fond-of-them-Jews Obama.
00:04:55.000 And, you know, his anti-Israel policy is really egregious.
00:04:59.000 I mean, I talked about this for years when President Obama was president.
00:05:02.000 Now,
00:05:03.000 Donald Trump has come into office.
00:05:05.000 Nobody really knows where he is on any of these issues.
00:05:07.000 He's made overtures that make him sound very pro-Israel.
00:05:09.000 He's obviously been very warm toward Bibi Netanyahu.
00:05:12.000 And yesterday, he was extremely warm toward Bibi Netanyahu.
00:05:14.000 He really reset the relationship.
00:05:16.000 I mean, it was the equivalent of handing Netanyahu a reset button.
00:05:18.000 He basically said, we're here for you.
00:05:20.000 We stand by you.
00:05:21.000 We're not going to stand with terrorism.
00:05:22.000 We're not going to stand alongside radical Islamic terrorists just because they have the modifier Palestinian by their name.
00:05:28.000 And so Donald Trump shows up.
00:05:30.000 And he stands along Netanyahu and you can see the warmth.
00:05:32.000 I mean, Netanyahu is so relieved that he doesn't have to deal with that jackass Obama anymore.
00:05:37.000 I mean, Obama was the kind of guy who was making Netanyahu leave through the back door and getting all ticked off if Netanyahu spoke to a joint session of Congress and putting severe pressure on the Israelis at the very end of his tenure through not getting rid of, not vetoing bad UN resolutions.
00:05:50.000 And so now Netanyahu comes to the White House and he's actually, the red carpet is rolled out for him and the event is really good.
00:05:55.000 So here is Donald Trump talking about
00:05:58.000 I believe that the great opportunity for peace comes from a regional approach, from involving
00:06:18.000 Our newfound Arab partners in the pursuit of a broader peace and peace with the Palestinians.
00:06:24.000 And I greatly look forward to discussing this in detail with you, Mr. President, because I think that if we work together, we have a shot.
00:06:37.000 And Trump obviously agrees with that, and you can see that Netanyahu is really, really excited that Trump is there.
00:06:44.000 So Trump himself didn't talk about the two-state solution, and this has set the media off.
00:06:47.000 Why didn't he talk about the two-state solution?
00:06:48.000 Because the two-state solution is stupid.
00:06:51.000 I knew it was stupid when I was nine, and they were doing the Oslo Accords.
00:06:53.000 It turns out that giving terrorists a state is not a good idea.
00:06:56.000 The Palestinian Authority was a terrorist group.
00:06:58.000 It is a terrorist group.
00:06:59.000 Hamas is a terrorist group.
00:07:00.000 Islamic Jihad is a terrorist group.
00:07:02.000 Giving terrorists a state is a terrible, terrible, terrible idea.
00:07:05.000 And when you say we're making a peace deal, and the peace deal is going to be that at the end you get a state, you've already given up what you're negotiating.
00:07:12.000 There's no more negotiation.
00:07:14.000 So why exactly would the Palestinians give up anything at that point?
00:07:16.000 Why would they stop the terrorism?
00:07:18.000 They know what the end point of this negotiation is, and they know that all the pressure is on Israel to concede things.
00:07:22.000 Beyond that, the stupidity of Oslo was saying that the Palestinians have a right to an independent state.
00:07:28.000 There is no such historic right for the Palestinians to have an independent state.
00:07:31.000 That state was called Jordan historically.
00:07:34.000 When they partitioned British Mandate Palestine, there were two states, right?
00:07:39.000 Originally, there were really only two states, and it was Jordan and Israel, and that was it.
00:07:44.000 And then they sliced off another, like, quasi-little state, and that was the so-called West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the Arabs rejected that deal.
00:07:51.000 There's no history to having another, a second Palestinian state in the region.
00:07:55.000 Jordan is 70% Palestinian.
00:07:58.000 The idea that it was a foregone conclusion, the only way there was ever going to be peace was to put a terrorist group in charge of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
00:08:04.000 Absolute stupidity.
00:08:05.000 When the Jews pulled out of the Gaza Strip, it immediately was turned into Hamasistan, which is an actual terror state.
00:08:10.000 And, you know, the fact that everybody keeps glomming onto this two-state deal, this two-state solution, is really dumb.
00:08:16.000 And it was really dumb for the Israelis to do it, because it was basically suggesting that the Jews were interlopers in the region.
00:08:21.000 That the Jews had to make some sort of deal to give away the heart of what it means to be Jewish, really.
00:08:25.000 I mean, Judea and Samaria are the heart of Biblical Israel.
00:08:28.000 Giving away the heart of Biblical Israel to the Palestinian Arabs suggests that they have a primacy of historical claim that simply does not exist.
00:08:35.000 Oslo is foolish for that reason, historically, morally.
00:08:39.000 Politically, an abomination.
00:08:40.000 And finally, recognizing that after 25 years of failure seems like a pretty good approach.
00:08:46.000 It seems like after doing this for two decades of silliness, maybe we should try something else.
00:08:50.000 Now, there are a bunch of different things that could be done here.
00:08:52.000 One could be just a continuation of status quo, which is you don't get to ship weapons in, you guys get to handle your own crap internally, and as long as there's no terrorism, we can have free flow of people in and out of Palestinian areas without granting independent statehood.
00:09:05.000 That's not an apartheid state.
00:09:07.000 The United States basically has that sort of relationship with Puerto Rico.
00:09:11.000 Puerto Rico isn't a sovereign country.
00:09:12.000 Puerto Rico is still administrative territory of the United States, technically.
00:09:17.000 They don't get to vote in the presidential elections.
00:09:19.000 They're not American citizens.
00:09:20.000 But the United States actually helps out in the administration of Puerto Rico.
00:09:23.000 And so suggesting that this is some sort of apartheid state, if they were to come to this sort of arrangement, is silly.
00:09:28.000 There's also the Carolyn Glick solution, which would be a one-state solution, which is basically Israel annexes everything, and then Israel actually gives citizenship to the Palestinians, because guess what?
00:09:36.000 There are six million Jews in the area.
00:09:37.000 There are only like a million and a half Palestinians, and that's not the world's biggest deal.
00:09:43.000 So there are plenty of solutions other than we have to give an independent state to a bunch of genocidal people who wish to wipe Jews off the map.
00:09:48.000 It's always funny, they always talk about the Jews participating in some sort of ethnic cleansing effort by moving Palestinians.
00:09:54.000 They never talk about the Palestinians forcibly moving Jews out of Palestine.
00:09:57.000 How many Jews live in quote-unquote Palestine?
00:10:00.000 The answer is zero.
00:10:01.000 Zero Jews live there.
00:10:02.000 How many Israeli Arabs live in Israel?
00:10:03.000 Over a million.
00:10:05.000 So the idea that the ethnic cleansing is coming from the Jewish side is really quite spectacularly stupid.
00:10:10.000 Getting rid of the idea that the Palestinians have to have their own state as a precondition for any negotiation is a good first step, because if you're actually going to have a negotiation, everything should be on the table, nothing should be off the table.
00:10:21.000 The reason Netanyahu wants to bring in regional partners on the peace deal is because he knows that Jordan doesn't want the Palestinians, he knows Egypt doesn't want the Palestinians, he knows the Saudis don't want the Palestinians, he knows all of them oppose a Palestinian state.
00:10:32.000 Here's the reality.
00:10:33.000 Egypt, Jordan,
00:10:34.000 Saudi Arabia, none of them want a Palestinian state.
00:10:37.000 They all pretend they do, for public consumption.
00:10:39.000 None of them actually do.
00:10:40.000 The reason they don't actually want that is because if there were a Palestinian state on the border of Jordan, it would immediately become a terror threat to Jordan itself.
00:10:46.000 And the Egyptians don't want a Palestinian terror state on their border.
00:10:49.000 They've been having all sorts of border trouble.
00:10:51.000 The leader, al-Sisi, has been having all sorts of border trouble with with Gazastan, with Hamasistan in Gaza, because Egypt is in control of the Sinai Desert, which runs all the way up to the Gaza Strip.
00:11:02.000 So none of these countries actually want there to be a Palestinian state.
00:11:04.000 Netanyahu knows that.
00:11:06.000 That's why Netanyahu is saying we should have a regional approach here.
00:11:08.000 Listen, Netanyahu, okay, the Israeli government has an on-the-table, constant offer to the Jordanians that if the Jordanians want to take over all of the Palestinian territories, they can.
00:11:17.000 You know what the Jordanians say?
00:11:19.000 They say no.
00:11:20.000 No one wants to be in charge of this.
00:11:22.000 You know why?
00:11:23.000 Because it's filled with a terror government.
00:11:25.000 Okay, so, Netanyahu says all of this, and then Trump says something that's not so good.
00:11:29.000 He says that Netanyahu should hold off on the settlements, and he does it in typical kind of Trumpian casual style.
00:11:34.000 Here's what he says.
00:11:36.000 As far as settlements, I'd like to see you hold back on settlements for a little bit.
00:11:40.000 We'll work something out.
00:11:42.000 But I would like to see a deal be made.
00:11:44.000 I think a deal will be made.
00:11:46.000 I know that every president would like to.
00:11:48.000 Most of them have not started till late because they never thought it was possible.
00:11:53.000 And it wasn't possible because they didn't do it.
00:11:57.000 But Bibi and I have known each other a long time.
00:11:59.000 A smart man, great negotiator.
00:12:03.000 And I think we're going to make a deal.
00:12:05.000 Okay, so this is the part that's slightly disquieting, is when Trump says things like, I know we're going to make a deal.
00:12:10.000 What kind of pressure is he going to bring to bear?
00:12:12.000 So far, so good.
00:12:13.000 I don't see a lot of pressure.
00:12:14.000 As far as him mentioning the settlements, I think that he does so because the State Department and people around him tell him he has to mention the settlements so he looks even-handed.
00:12:21.000 It doesn't make a lot of sense.
00:12:22.000 To say that the two-state solution is not a precondition to negotiations, and then to say settlements have to stop is really kind of silly because the only reasons for settlements to stop is the idea that you're eventually going to transfer all of the control over that territory.
00:12:34.000 To this growing terror state, this Palestinian terror state, that's the only reason you wouldn't want Jews building additional bathrooms on the back of their houses, or building more settlements.
00:12:45.000 Because the truth is, the Arabs in Palestine, the Arabs in the Palestinian areas, there is no Palestine, the Arabs in the Palestinian-controlled areas,
00:12:53.000 They would be thrilled.
00:12:55.000 I mean, realistically, they'd be thrilled if Israel would annex all the territory.
00:12:58.000 There are constant polls showing that Israeli-Arabs, given the option to move to Palestinian territories or stay in Israel, they all want to stay in Israel.
00:13:05.000 Why?
00:13:05.000 Because they have jobs, they're wealthy, they live free, and it turns out that the areas controlled by the Palestinians are kind of a crap hole because the administration there steals billions of dollars from their own people and takes all the foreign aid and puts it in their pocket.
00:13:16.000 Netanyahu, obviously, is thrilled about all this.
00:13:18.000 He says, look, we don't need a two-state solution that ends with a terrorist state.
00:13:22.000 What does Abu Mazen mean by two states, okay?
00:13:25.000 What does he mean?
00:13:26.000 A state that doesn't recognize the Jewish state?
00:13:30.000 A state that basically is open for attack against Israel?
00:13:35.000 You know, what are we talking about?
00:13:36.000 Are we talking about Costa Rica or are we talking about another Iran?
00:13:39.000 So obviously it means different things.
00:13:41.000 I told you what are the conditions that I believe are necessary
00:13:45.000 It's the recognition of the Jewish state, and it's Israel's security control of the entire area.
00:13:51.000 Otherwise, we're just fantasizing.
00:13:54.000 Otherwise, we'll get another failed state, another terrorist Islamist dictatorship that will not work for peace, but work to destroy us, but also destroy any hope for a peaceful future for our people.
00:14:10.000 Okay, and all that Netanyahu says there is absolutely 100% true.
00:14:14.000 So, you know, good for Trump for taking the blinders off with regard to this idiotic two-state solution nonsense.
00:14:20.000 It's time to move beyond failed attempts of the past and time to talk about realistic solutions in that area.
00:14:26.000 Realistic solutions will involve security, not peace.
00:14:29.000 But the security that's going to be arranged is not going to be on the back of setting up a terrorist state in the heart of Israel.
00:14:34.000 That's absolute foolishness.
00:14:35.000 Good for President Trump.
00:14:37.000 Okay, so we now have to take our break over at Facebook and YouTube, but we have lots more coming up.
00:14:43.000 We have to get to more of the fallout about Flynn, some bad Trump.
00:14:46.000 We have to get to the media just making complete fools of themselves, the Republicans, all over themselves.
00:14:51.000 Plus, we have the mailbag.
00:14:52.000 Tons more coming up here on The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:15:12.000 If your life is already a utopia of happiness, well, then I will ascend you directly to heaven.
00:15:15.000 We're good to go.
00:15:35.000 We're ranked overall in the top 20 of all podcasts in the United States.
00:15:38.000 Not just political podcasts in the United States, all podcasts in the United States.
