Summary

Tonight, Barack Obama will descend from his palace in the sky, and all of the fawning legislators will bow before him. He will gaze up to the sky and tell us of our fate, and then he will spill chicken entrails. That's basically what the spectacle is going to be tonight. Plus, Hillary Clinton is now in a dogfight with Bernie Sanders. Plus some things that I like, some things I hate, and mostly things I just hate. Today is the big day. President Obama is set to give his State of the Union address, and we will preview it for you. Plus, I have to watch another Republican debate, and I am so upset about this. I could not possibly be more upset about the fact that John Kasich will be apparently air-chopping watermelons again at the debate. And I just found out last night that he was supposed to not be part of the debate and then they inserted him. So, you say I don t sacrifice to bring all of this knowledge to you? To bestow all of my intellectual wisdom upon you? Well, well, it's hard work, gang. You're not the only one who needs it, is it? I'm not the one who doesn't sacrifice to do it, I'm the one that needs it. That's right, I don't sacrifice, I do. . I do it because I'm a lot, and it's just as much as you do, and because it's my job and I'm too busy to do the work. and I can't be more than you can do it and you're not getting paid enough to do enough of it, so I'm going to do more than enough of what you need to be paid enough, right? You don't get enough of a chance to be a good enough of an education and you get enough opportunities to be good enough, you don't have enough of that, you're just not getting enough of the education you're getting enough opportunities, right enough of your education, enough of enough opportunities? you don t get enough, do you understand what you're being paid enough? You're enough enough? ? You can t be more important than you're enough, are you got it, right?? you can t have it? You don t need it, boy do you know what you deserve it, don't you??

00:00:01.000 Today is the big day.
00:00:02.000 President Obama is set to give his State of the Union address.
00:00:05.000 We will preview it for you.
00:00:06.000 Plus, Hillary Clinton is now in a dogfight with Bernie Sanders.
00:00:10.000 Plus some things that I like, some things that I hate.
00:00:13.000 Mostly things that I hate.
00:00:14.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:15.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:25.000 Ah, tonight, Barack Hussein Obama will descend from his palace in the sky.
00:00:30.000 He will walk into his imperial coliseum.
00:00:32.000 All of the fawning legislators will bow before him.
00:00:35.000 He will gaze up to the sky and he will inform us of our fate.
00:00:39.000 And then he will spill chicken entrails to explain what the next year will look like.
00:00:42.000 That's basically what the spectacle is going to be tonight.
00:00:44.000 I couldn't be more pissed about having to watch this.
00:00:46.000 Like, seriously, I could not be more frustrated.
00:00:49.000 I do it for you.
00:00:50.000 Dear watcher and listener, because the fact is that I have tickets to 13 hours, the preview of 13 hours is happening at 7.30 tonight.
00:00:57.000 Barack Obama is speaking at 6 o'clock Pacific Time.
00:01:01.000 I have to not go to a movie I want to see so I can watch someone I despise jabber for 60 minutes about how much he hates me.
00:01:08.000 Ugh, and my birthday is this week.
00:01:10.000 It's just a rough week.
00:01:11.000 Okay, so I'm the real victim in all of this.
00:01:13.000 Let's be real.
00:01:14.000 I am the real victim in all of this.
00:01:16.000 And in two days, I have to watch another Republican debate, and I just found out last night that John Kasich is gonna be part of that Republican debate.
00:01:24.000 He was supposed to not be part of the debate, and then they inserted him.
00:01:27.000 And I'm so upset about this.
00:01:29.000 I could not possibly be more upset about the fact that John Kasich is going to be apparently air-chopping watermelons again at the debate, and it's...
00:01:39.000 John Kasich, whose father, by the way, is a mailman.
00:01:41.000 He will be at the debate, and I will have to watch that horrible debate in two days.
00:01:46.000 So, you say I don't sacrifice to bring all of this knowledge to you?
00:01:50.000 To bestow all of my intellectual wisdom upon you?
00:01:54.000 Yeah, well, it's hard work, gang.
00:01:56.000 It's hard work.
00:01:56.000 Any case.
00:01:57.000 President Obama is supposed to speak tonight, and he's going to say a lot of stupid things.
00:02:01.000 A lot of stupid things.
00:02:02.000 The last time a President of the United States who was a Democrat left office after two terms, his State of the Union address, his parting shot, and Bill Clinton was famous for his parting shots, just ask Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky.
00:02:15.000 Bill Clinton's parting shot was 88 minutes long.
00:02:20.000 He battled on for 88 minutes.
00:02:21.000 So tonight we're gonna get an hour and a half.
00:02:23.000 President Obama feels the need to break the Guinness Book of World Records, I'm sure.
00:02:27.000 So he'll go for probably four or five hours tonight about how wonderful he is and how he's so special.
00:02:33.000 President Obama did basically a preview of his State of the Union address this morning.
00:02:36.000 He was on the Today Show with Matt Lauer and he explained that basically everything is hunky-dory.
00:02:43.000 And here he is getting all excited for his State of the Union address.
00:02:47.000 The economy right now is doing better than any other economy in the world by a significant margin.
00:02:56.000 We remain the strongest nation on earth by far.
00:03:00.000 And there are no existential threats facing us.
00:03:03.000 But if we make some good choices now, whoever the next president is, whoever's controlling the next Congress, there's no reason why
00:03:13.000 We shouldn't own the 21st century.
00:03:43.000 That built this economy are the things President Obama wants to destroy.
00:03:47.000 So he says also there that there are no existential threats to the United States.
00:03:51.000 This is a dichotomy that President Obama frequently drops.
00:03:55.000 Things may be bad, but there are no existential threats to the United States.
00:04:00.000 The idea that the only threats that matter to us are existential ones, that is a recipe for inaction.
00:04:05.000 Because the truth is that in the entire history of America, and I've said this before, there have probably only been, really only been, two existential threats to the United States in the entire history of the United States since founding.
00:04:17.000 Really only two existential threats to the presence of the United States.
00:04:20.000 The Civil War and the Cold War.
00:04:22.000 That's pretty much it.
00:04:23.000 Even Hitler was not an existential threat to the United States.
00:04:26.000 If the United States does not become enmeshed in war in Japan, Hitler probably leaves the United States alone while he conquers the rest of Europe.
00:04:32.000 But President Obama says there are no existential threats.
00:04:35.000 What he means by that is
00:04:37.000 I'm not going to treat anything as a threat at all.
00:04:39.000 Because he thinks that the only threats worth fighting are existential threats.
00:04:43.000 If it's just a threat to 14 people in San Bernardino, or a cop in Philadelphia, or a couple of cops in New York City, or if it's a threat to 3,000 people in New York City, none of that is an existential threat to the United States.
00:04:54.000 So no biggie.
00:04:55.000 Everything is fine.
00:04:56.000 You notice, by the way, that President Obama's categorization of everything is fine rests on we're not in the toilet completely, right?
00:05:05.000 His categorization is the State of the Union is strong so long as it's not a third world hellhole where zombies wander the earth.
00:05:12.000 I have sort of slightly higher expectations for the United States.
00:05:15.000 President Obama does not.
00:05:16.000 President Obama continued along these lines.
00:05:18.000 He said, things aren't that bad.
00:05:20.000 You know, Americans are divided, but they're not that divided.
00:05:22.000 I mean, they've been more divided in the past.
00:05:25.000 It's a regret.
00:05:27.000 I could not be prouder of what we've accomplished.
00:05:30.000 And sometimes we look at the past through rose-colored glasses.
00:05:35.000 It's been pretty divided in the past.
00:05:37.000 There have been times where people beat each other with canes.
00:05:42.000 We had things like the Civil War.
00:05:43.000 So there have been times where it's been pretty rough.
00:05:46.000 But there's no doubt that
00:05:52.000 Politics in Washington are so much more divided than the American people are.
00:05:57.000 And part of what I want to do in this last address is to remind people, you know what, we got a lot of good things going for us, and if we can get our politics right, it turns out that we're not as divided
00:06:14.000 So we're not as divided as we were during the Civil War.
00:06:17.000 Big victory, President Obama!
00:06:18.000 Awesome!
00:06:19.000 When he says, by the way, that Washington is more divided than the American people, precisely the opposite.
00:06:24.000 The American people are more divided than Washington, D.C.
00:06:27.000 Obviously.
00:06:28.000 Republicans and Democrats in Washington, D.C.
00:06:30.000 basically get along.
00:06:31.000 A lot of them have the same priorities.
00:06:33.000 The American people
00:06:34.000 Ask somebody from San Francisco whether they feel divided from somebody from Texas, or vice versa, and I'll tell you, the American people feel pretty divided.
00:06:41.000 Ask blacks living in Ferguson, Missouri whether they feel more divided from whites who are living in St.
00:06:46.000 Louis, and they will tell you, yeah, we're feeling divided.
00:06:49.000 President Obama has played on these divisions in order to gain himself political power, in order to push forward his agenda.
00:06:55.000 So, I want to give a couple of quick predictions for tonight, what President Obama is going to say, and what he's not going to say.
00:07:01.000 And, you know, you can drink every time I get one of these predictions right, but as you know from listening to the Ben Shapiro podcast, or from watching the Ben Shapiro podcast,
00:07:09.000 I'm right, like, all the time.
00:07:10.000 So if you play a drinking game on this one, you're going to be drunk about seven minutes into the State of the Union address.
00:07:16.000 First of all, he's going to downplay the threat of terrorism.
00:07:18.000 You already saw him doing it right there.
00:07:21.000 He's been doing it for weeks.
00:07:22.000 He's been basically saying that ISIS is not any sort of existential threat.
00:07:25.000 It's not even a territorial threat.
00:07:27.000 He suffers from radical Islam denial syndrome, so does the rest of his party, and it's even worse than this.
00:07:32.000 They're going to work tonight on what they call targeting Islamophobia.
00:07:36.000 So what are they doing?
00:07:37.000 President Obama tonight is inviting a Syrian Muslim refugee to sit in Michelle Obama's box.
00:07:44.000 And it's not gonna be the Muslim refugee who was arrested last week in the United States for siding with ISIS, or the Muslim refugee who was arrested last week, the other one, who was arrested in the United States for siding with ISIS.
00:07:56.000 It won't be either of those.
00:07:57.000 It'll be another Muslim refugee from Syria who's a nice, happy-dappy-do guy who suffered from cancer and lost a lot of family members in a bombing.
00:08:04.000 And it's not just Obama.
00:08:05.000 Apparently, Debbie Wasserman Schultz
00:08:07.000 Who bears a striking resemblance to Jar Jar Binks.
00:08:10.000 I mean, if you have ever looked at a picture of the two of them side by side... First of all, you've never seen them both in the same place at the same time.
00:08:17.000 I was wondering why Debbie Wasserman Schultz annoyed me so much, and then I realized last night, looking at a picture of her, that it's because she... They may have modeled Jar Jar Binks after Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
00:08:27.000 I'm not lying.
00:08:27.000 You'll have to...
00:08:28.000 We'll have to get the pictures together and put them up tomorrow, because it is kind of amazing.
00:08:32.000 But, in any case, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, she issued a letter, along with a bunch of other Democratic lawmakers, urging lawmakers to bring a Muslim to the State of the Union.
00:08:41.000 Right?
00:08:42.000 To demonstrate that we don't hate Muslims.
00:08:44.000 The letter said that we have to show the world that we will not be intimidated by fear into discrimination.
00:08:49.000 So in order to do that, we have to make nice with People Like Care, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which actually has ties to terrorist groups, which was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case, in that terror case.
00:09:03.000 We have to bring those people in, and that'll show the world.
00:09:06.000 Meanwhile, the radical Muslims, they're just laughing and laughing.
00:09:09.000 Look at these stupid lawmakers.
00:09:11.000 What do we have to do to convince you people that we don't like you and that we want to kill you?
00:09:15.000 I mean, we've killed a bunch of you.
00:09:16.000 What do we have to do around here?
00:09:18.000 I mean, we just had a guy shoot a cop in the middle of one of your major cities, and we just had two people murder 14 people in the middle of another one of your major cities, and we just killed 130 people in Paris, and we just raped 600 women or sexually assaulted 600 women across it.
00:09:32.000 What do we have to do here to convince you people that we don't like you?
00:09:35.000 And that maybe radical Islam is a threat, but apparently, according to Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Democrats, the true threat
00:09:42.000 Is the evil lurking in the heart of Americans?
00:09:44.000 And that's going to be the sort of dichotomous message of tonight's State of the Union.
00:09:50.000 If you side with President Obama, you're on the side of the angels.
00:09:52.000 If you don't, then you're an Islamophobic, nasty piece of work.
00:09:55.000 And he's going to castigate you because he has to change your soul, as Michelle Obama once said.
00:10:01.000 Something else he's going to do tonight, he's going to exaggerate the threat of gun violence.
00:10:04.000 He's going to suggest that we have record gun violence in the United States, that people are being shot on every street corner, that gun owners are a threat to everyone.
00:10:11.000 He may shed a tear.
00:10:12.000 We've seen that before.
00:10:13.000 He may shed a tear.
00:10:14.000 Although, I'm not sure where he goes from last week.
00:10:17.000 I mean, after the cry fest last week, what's he going to have to do?
00:10:20.000 Is he going to actually pull out a hanky and laboriously wipe his face like in an old movie?
00:10:25.000 It would be great if it were like a silent movie and he actually just did faces.
00:10:28.000 And then there were placards that came up that said, Obama is sad.
00:10:32.000 I think that'd be fun.
00:10:33.000 But he's not gonna do that.
00:10:33.000 In any case, he's gonna do that.
00:10:35.000 He'll talk about how abortion is a wonderful sacrament, and he's gonna brag about how he just vetoed a bill that cut funding to Planned Parenthood, and how it's imperative that in today's world women be allowed to murder their babies in the womb.
00:10:47.000 He's going to say that.
00:10:48.000 He's going to talk about same-sex marriage for sure.
00:10:50.000 He's going to ignore the fact
00:10:51.000 That same-sex marriage is being used as a club to wield against religious Americans?
00:10:55.000 He's going to ignore the fact that religious business owners are being fined hundreds of thousands of dollars just because they don't want to participate in what they perceive to be sin?
00:11:05.000 He's not going to talk about that, but he'll talk about how same-sex marriage is just another step forward that we won't discriminate based on who you love.
00:11:11.000 Of course, by the way, that's a lie.
00:11:12.000 We always discriminate based on who you love.
00:11:14.000 I mean, what do you do about pedophiles if you don't discriminate based on who you love?
00:11:18.000 I mean, we do this all the time.
00:11:19.000 What do you do about incest?
00:11:20.000 But President Obama will go on to call for wealth redistribution.
00:11:24.000 He's gonna talk about how Obamacare's a massive, flaming success, even though there's a report today that Obamacare premiums are skyrocketing again, again.
00:11:33.000 They're now apparently five to six times what Obama said they would be when he promised Obamacare was going to work.
00:11:38.000 And finally, President Obama will wrap up with a call for racial reconciliation.
00:11:42.000 He's gonna say that what happens in Baltimore and Ferguson, the Black Lives Matter movement, sometimes, this is just change, sometimes change manifests in ugly ways.
00:11:50.000 He'll use almost these words, by the way.
00:11:52.000 Sometimes change manifests in ways that we don't like, but this is the face of change.
00:11:56.000 Change sometimes happens in ugly ways, but we have to get beyond all of these rifts, and the only way to do that is to really have it out in the public square, and that's what Black Lives Matter are doing, and that's why we have these debates, and we stand with cops, but we also stand with black Americans victimized by cops, etc., etc.
00:12:12.000 So that's what President Obama is going to do tonight.
00:12:14.000 I will be hurling.
00:12:15.000 So that's my prediction for tonight.
00:12:16.000 President Obama will speak.
00:12:18.000 I will vomit.
00:12:19.000 Those will be the two predictions for tonight.
00:12:21.000 Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is having some real troubles on the campaign trail.
00:12:25.000 Hillary is Barack Obama's chosen successor, at least for the moment.
00:12:28.000 He hasn't endorsed her.
00:12:29.000 And in fact, Joe Biden, as we'll get to in a little while, is making noises that sound a lot like he wants to get back in the race.
00:12:36.000 Hillary Clinton is maybe the most incompetent campaigner
00:12:40.000 That I have ever seen.
00:12:41.000 I mean, she's truly incompetent.
00:12:43.000 People were all over Rick Perry for making mistakes all the time.
00:12:46.000 It's ridiculous, I will say, for the media to go after Rick Perry for his campaign style, but to leave alone and just pretend that it's not a big deal that Hillary Clinton is legitimately a terrible campaigner.
00:12:59.000 So Hillary Clinton was at a town hall
00:13:02.000 Where do I start?
00:13:03.000 I think
00:13:25.000 It is hard when you're swimming in the ocean to know exactly what's happening around you, so much as it is when you're standing on the shore, perhaps watching.
00:13:37.000 For me, you know, look, I was born white, middle class, in the middle of America.
00:13:43.000 I went to good public schools.
00:13:46.000 I had a very strong, supportive family.
00:13:52.000 I had a lot of great experiences growing up.
00:13:57.000 I went to a wonderful college.
00:14:00.000 I went to law school.
00:14:02.000 I never really
00:14:06.000 Thank you.
00:14:23.000 The left is so mad at her for this answer, because it's a rambling, nonsensical answer.
00:14:27.000 Because she wants to kowtow to the white privilege crowd, but she knows in her heart, Hillary knows in her heart, that her benefits have very little to do with her being white.
00:14:35.000 And so she is desperately struggling against herself.
00:14:37.000 She wants to say that when you exist in a world of white privilege, and you're a white person existing in the world of white privilege, that you don't even know where white privilege begins, and you get credit for your own actions.
00:14:48.000 But if you're a black person from the outside, presumably, or a person of color from the outside, then you can identify all of these specific privileges that white people enjoy.
00:14:55.000 That's what she's trying to say, although she's completely inarticulate.
00:14:58.000 The fact is that Hillary Clinton is not the beneficiary of white privilege.
00:15:02.000 She didn't grow up middle class, by the way.
00:15:04.000 She grew up very wealthy.
00:15:05.000 She grew up in Chicago in a place called Hyde Park, which is a very upper-class part of Chicago.
00:15:11.000 Her dad was very, very rich.
00:15:13.000 And Hillary Clinton went to the finest schools, and she always had it easy.
00:15:17.000 Hillary Clinton lived her entire life on Easy Street.
00:15:19.000 That had nothing to do with her color, and everything to do with the fact that her daddy was wealthy, and she could basically have daddy buy anything that she wanted for her, and the fact that she then married the future president of the United States.
00:15:30.000 So there were a few things that she definitely benefited from, but Hillary has to try so hard
00:15:35.000 To reach out to black folks, and it's clear that it's not really working very well.
00:15:41.000 And her stupidity doesn't end there.
00:15:42.000 So Hillary Clinton was asked again, the left playbook.
00:15:46.000 Hillary is just not even fluent with the new left playbook.
00:15:49.000 This is the problem with being a politician of convenience.
00:15:52.000 In a world of leftist principle.
00:15:54.000 Hillary is now living in Bernie Sanders' world and she doesn't even know it.
00:15:58.000 Hillary Clinton is not controlling the fate of the Democratic Party.
00:16:02.000 Bernie Sanders controls the fate of the Democratic Party.
00:16:04.000 Today, polls, Bernie Sanders up 5 in Iowa, up 14 in New Hampshire.
00:16:08.000 So he's starting to run away with things in Iowa and New Hampshire.
00:16:11.000 Now Hillary, you know, right after that there's the Nevada caucus and the South Carolina primary.
00:16:15.000 She has advantages in the South, she has advantages in the West.
00:16:18.000 But it's a definite rebuke to Hillary Clinton that she can't win the early states where theoretically she should do really well.
00:16:24.000 She was a senator from New York, right?
00:16:26.000 New York is very close to New Hampshire.
00:16:28.000 So she really should do better in some of these states and she's not doing well in these states.
00:16:32.000 She was asked yesterday also at this same event whether white terrorism was as bad as ISIS and she basically said yes.
00:16:39.000 So there are so many different kinds of potential violent acts, and we have to go after all of them.
00:16:48.000 We have to stop them all.
00:16:49.000 We cannot let anybody live in fear.
00:16:53.000 And it becomes higher profile when it's tied to international terrorism, because that seems like it's coming from the outside, and it's, you know, not homegrown.
00:17:04.000 I saw homegrown terrorism in Oklahoma City, and I saw foreign terrorism in New York City.
00:17:13.000 I saw people grieving over the loss of their loved ones and at some point we all have to come together as a country again and stand against violence and do something to get the guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them no matter who they are.
00:17:27.000 Okay, that's an amazing answer and it demonstrates Hillary's not even fluent with her own talking points here.
00:17:33.000 She just cited two terrorist attacks, 9-11 and Oklahoma City.
00:17:36.000 Which one of those used guns exactly?
00:17:39.000 Oklahoma City was a fertilizer bomb in the back of a truck, and 9-11 was obviously airplanes.
00:17:44.000 So, which one of those would have been cured by gun control?
00:17:47.000 Anybody?
00:17:48.000 Any answers here?
00:17:49.000 Also, when Hillary Clinton says that we ought to fear every kind of terrorism, this is the democratic way of just shluffing off Islamic terrorism.
00:17:56.000 It doesn't matter at all.
00:17:57.000 It's just something that's out there.
00:17:59.000 Okay, as I mentioned yesterday, 1% of the American population maybe is Muslim.
00:18:03.000 They are responsible for at least 50% of all terror deaths in the United States since 9-11, not even including 9-11.
00:18:08.000 If you include 9-11, then they're responsible for 75 to 80% of all terror deaths in the United States.
00:18:13.000 Actually, much more than that.
00:18:14.000 They're responsible for virtually all terror deaths in the United States if you include 9-11.
00:18:19.000 But Hillary Clinton is not even fluent with her own talking points.
00:18:22.000 And it's beginning to tell.
00:18:23.000 So Hillary was asked yesterday also about Bernie Sanders and whether he was electable.
00:18:27.000 Here is Hillary Clinton's answer as to whether Bernie Sanders is electable or not.
00:18:32.000 Well, I'm not going to speak for anybody but myself.
00:18:35.000 I will leave that to the voters to decide about who is or who isn't.
00:18:39.000 But I can tell you this, I'm battle-tested.
00:18:42.000 You know, I know how to go up against the Republicans.
00:18:44.000 There's hardly anything that you and the voters don't know about me.
00:18:49.000 So there won't be a lot of new information coming out or new labeling coming out.
00:18:55.000 I think that's a big advantage.
00:18:56.000 I think that going up against the Republicans this year, where there is so much at stake,
00:19:01.000 Uh, where every one of...
00:19:03.000 It's literally wanting to turn the clock back to trickle-down economics, to repeal the Affordable Care Act, to, you know, go after a woman's right to make her health care decisions, defund Planned Parenthood, try to do what they can to derail marriage equality, on and on and on.
00:19:22.000 I think it's important for voters to understand that if they don't want to see a Republican going back into the White House, then, you know, I think it's fair to say I'm the most prepared
00:19:36.000 And that is Rachel Maddow interviewing... Oh no, sorry, that's Chris Hayes, right?
00:19:41.000 Sorry, wrong person.
00:19:43.000 In any case, Hillary Clinton says that Bernie Sanders is not really... She's super electable because nothing new will come out about her.
00:19:49.000 Because she deleted everything, right?
00:19:51.000 Nothing new will come out about her if she can help it.
00:19:54.000 By the way, there are apparently 150 federal agents currently working on Hillary's corruption case, so there is obviously the chance she might be indicted.
00:20:02.000 There's the possibility that she might be prosecuted.
00:20:05.000 Bernie Sanders does better in national polling than Hillary, by a long shot.
00:20:08.000 Hillary actually loses to Ted Cruz in the latest national polling.
00:20:11.000 She loses by four points to Ted Cruz and five points to Marco Rubio in the latest national polling, and she's neck and neck with Donald Trump.
00:20:17.000 Bernie Sanders beats all comers.
00:20:19.000 Bernie Sanders is not going to win the nomination, but he should be a telltale sign that the Democratic Party has moved so far to the left that it's just a matter of time until someone like Bernie Sanders, who's not old and crotchety, ends up winning the nomination.
00:20:31.000 Barack Obama is basically Bernie Sanders, just not Bernie Sanders.
00:20:35.000 And it's kind of amazing, but the truth is that Joe Biden said it straight out this week.
00:20:41.000 Joe Biden was praising Bernie Sanders.
00:20:42.000 Joe Biden wishes desperately he had not dropped out of this race.
00:20:45.000 He feels like if he had not dropped out, he would actually be competing in Iowa and New Hampshire and he could win the nomination.
00:20:51.000 And I have to say, that's probably true.
00:20:53.000 He would have a solid shot at the nomination, Joe Biden, if he had not dropped out of the race.
00:20:56.000 Here's Joe Biden praising Bernie Sanders.
00:20:59.000 And again, he's leaving the door open.
00:21:00.000 He was asked yesterday, are you ruling out a presidential run?
00:21:04.000 And Joe Biden said, I never say never.
00:21:06.000 Okay, it's two weeks before Iowa.
00:21:08.000 And he's saying, I never say never.
00:21:10.000 Here's Joe Biden.
00:21:11.000 Bernie is speaking to a yearning that is deep and real, and he has credibility on it.
00:21:20.000 And that is the absolute enormous concentration of wealth in a small group of people with the middle class now being able to be shown being left out.
00:21:32.000 There used to be a basic bargain.
00:21:34.000 If you contributed to the profitability of an enterprise, you got to share in the profit.
00:21:40.000 That's been broken.
00:21:41.000 Productivity's up.
00:21:42.000 Wages are stagnant.
00:21:43.000 But Hillary's talking about that as well.
00:21:45.000 Well, but it's relatively new for Hillary to talk about that.
00:21:50.000 Hillary's focus has been other things up to now, and that's been Bernie's.
00:21:55.000 No one questions Bernie's authenticity on those issues.
00:21:59.000 And they question her?
00:22:15.000 You know, it's the old thing.
00:22:16.000 No one, everybody wants to be the favorite.
00:22:19.000 No one wants to be the prohibitive favorite.
00:22:21.000 Okay.
00:22:21.000 So, so Joe Biden right here is basically endorsing Bernie Sanders.
00:22:24.000 He says, Bernie's authentic.
00:22:25.000 Hillary is just a manipulator.
00:22:27.000 He went on in that interview, by the way, to say everybody's a democratic socialist.
00:22:30.000 He said, Bernie calls himself a socialist, but the truth is that Bernie agrees with me and he agrees with Hillary, which is why Hillary Clinton has had so much trouble trying to distinguish between
00:22:40.000 What is socialism versus what is capitalism?
00:22:43.000 What is socialism versus what does it mean to be a Democrat?
00:22:45.000 Because the answer is there is no difference and Bernie Sanders is proof positive of that.
00:22:50.000 So Hillary is is very very vulnerable in this in this particular election cycle.
00:22:56.000 Very vulnerable.
00:22:57.000 And yet, and yet, the Republicans seem bound and determined to lose an election to Hillary Clinton.
00:23:03.000 I discussed yesterday David Brooks of the New York Times, and David Brooks is considered the faux-conservative, he's considered the conservative at the New York Times, which is just, I mean, that's like being, you know, the Menshevik at the Bolshevik Convention.
00:23:18.000 He's not conservative, he's a leftist.
00:23:19.000 But David Brooks, he wrote a piece for the New York Times today in which he called Senator Ted Cruz, he actually called him brutal,
00:23:27.000 I don't know.
00:23:41.000 Cruz's behavior in the Haley case is almost the dictionary definition of Phariseeism, an overzealous application of the letter of the law in a way that violates the spirit of the law, as well as fairness and mercy.
00:23:53.000 Okay, I'm not going to go into biblical commentary about the differences between Judaism and Christianity, and why Judaism is Phariseeism, and why the New Testament actually mixes up
00:24:03.000 Being a Pharisee and being a Sadducee, but in any case, that's a historical conversation for another time.
00:24:07.000 Let's just take it on its own merits.
00:24:09.000 When David Brooks says that Cruz is a stranger to humility, mercy, compassion, and grace, what he actually means by this is that Ted Cruz doesn't agree with him that government ought to use the power of the government gun to push through David Brooks' concept of mercy, compassion, and grace.
00:24:26.000 So what he says is, Cruz's speeches are marked by what you might call pagan brutalism.
00:24:31.000 There's not a hint of compassion, gentleness, and mercy.
00:24:33.000 Instead, his speeches are marked by a long list of enemies and vows to crush, shred, destroy, and bomb them.
00:24:38.000 When he is speaking in a church, the contrast between the setting and the emotional tone he sets is jarring.
00:24:43.000 The fact is, his apocalyptic diagnosis is ridiculous.
00:24:47.000 The Obama administration has done things people like me strongly disagree with.
00:24:50.000 But America is in better shape than any other major nation on Earth.
00:24:54.000 Crime is down.
00:24:55.000 Abortion rates are down.
00:24:57.000 14 million new jobs have been created in five years.
00:24:59.000 Obama has championed a liberal agenda, but he hasn't made the country unrecognizable, is what David Brooks thinks.
00:25:05.000 This is why the Republican Party is going to lose to a non-entity like Hillary Clinton.
00:25:09.000 Hillary Clinton is a political manipulator who has found herself in the midst of a left wave, and she doesn't really know what to do with it.
00:25:17.000 She feels awkward with it.
00:25:19.000 But at the same time, the Republicans, who really could be pushing forward in this space, they really could be pointing out the fact that we are at an inflection point.
00:25:26.000 We're at a turning point.
00:25:28.000 And as I've been saying for days now, weeks now, months now, the difference in the Republican Party is the people who think that we're at a low point in America's history, but
00:25:36.000 We're, you know, five seconds from correcting it, and really, Obama's bad, but he ain't that bad.
00:25:40.000 He could be worse.
00:25:41.000 And people like me who believe that Barack Obama is maybe the worst thing ever to happen to the country, certainly since the Civil War, the worst thing to happen to America, and that he is, in fact, a causing and driving force
00:25:54.000 In turning America into something that is unrecognizable.
00:25:57.000 In fact, we are turning into something unrecognizable.
00:25:59.000 A nation where the government can force you to buy things.
00:26:01.000 A nation where the government can force you to violate your religion on pain of fine and jail.
00:26:06.000 A nation where the government can force you to do pretty much anything it wants and then fine you and jail you if you disagree.
00:26:13.000 I think that if you agree with David Brooks, you think that Ted Cruz is a madman because he talks about this catastrophic future.
00:26:19.000 If you agree with me, then you believe that David Brooks is mad or at least, at the very least, oblivious for suggesting that Barack Obama is basically hunky-dory.
00:26:27.000 The reason that David Brooks is ripping on Ted Cruz this way is not even because of the rhetoric.
00:26:31.000 It's because if Ted Cruz were to speak in the same jarring terms about why government should be involved in helping everybody, he'd be a Democrat and David Brooks would basically be okay with him.
00:26:42.000 And this is why Hillary can be a non-entity, but so long as the Republican Party keeps running non-entities, they're gonna have trouble beating Hillary Clinton.
00:26:50.000 David Brooks is not a conservative in any way, shape, or form, and it's just demonstrative of the fact that if you are going to get love from the mainstream media, it's probably because you are not a conservative in the first place.
00:27:01.000 Okay, on to some things that I like and some things that I hate.
00:27:05.000 And, you know, things that I hate, needless to say, the State of the Union.
00:27:08.000 Things that I like.
00:27:10.000 I don't know how many of you—it's actually before my time, but I grew up on the music of Jim Croce.
00:27:14.000 I don't know how many people have heard the music of Jim Croce.
00:27:16.000 He's—the Beatles, if they didn't suck.
00:27:18.000 And I think the Beatles are wildly overrated.
00:27:22.000 The Beatles—the first 45 seconds of every Beatles song is great, and then it goes on for another 8 minutes.
00:27:26.000 We're good to go.
00:27:41.000 Catchy, and they're fun.
00:27:43.000 So check out Jim Croce if you've never heard any Jim Croce.
00:27:45.000 I'm sure most people who watch have heard this, but for the youngsters, people who are my age, and most of the people who listen to the podcast, watch the podcast, are between the ages, we know, of 18 and 35 years old.
00:27:55.000 If you haven't heard of Jim Croce, check him out.
00:27:57.000 He's way better than The Beatles.
00:27:58.000 He's way better than most of the other people.
00:28:01.000 He's better than David Bowie, for sure.
00:28:02.000 So check out Jim Croce if you have a chance.
00:28:05.000 Okay, on to some things that I hate.
00:28:07.000 First of all, Barack Obama
00:28:09.000 He's going to follow his State of the Union with a media tour.
00:28:13.000 His media tour is going to be a media tour with YouTube stars.
00:28:17.000 So the President of the United States, who is supposedly, you know, the man who has elevated the national rhetoric, a man who has not divided us, he is going to be interviewed by a bunch of YouTube stars, including Ingrid Nelson, who's known as Miss Glamorazzi, Destin Sandin of the science channel Smarter Every Day, and Adande Thorne, aka Swoozie,
00:28:39.000 All of them have over 3 million subscribers on YouTube and they will ask questions of him.
00:28:44.000 And they all posted videos expressing their excitement at President Obama degrading the office of the presidency once again by putting himself in front of the selfie sticks of the YouTube crowd.
00:28:55.000 And again, I'm not somebody who's really snooty about the people who you're interviewed by, but President Obama purports to be
00:29:01.000 We're good to go.
00:29:17.000 These are the same people who believe that Bill Clinton elevated the office of the presidency, so this is no big surprise.
00:29:22.000 Okay, something else that I hate.
00:29:24.000 So, one of the things that we like to follow in the Things I Hate segment is the fashion trend.
00:29:28.000 So, I think last week we talked about Jaden Smith, who is Will Smith's son, being part of the Louis Vuitton campaign.
00:29:36.000 He's in the Women's Wear campaign.
00:29:38.000 Well now, apparently, the new fashion deal, Burberry,
00:29:43.000 Which is another one of these brands that cost a fortune for stuff that you could buy for like half the price on a street corner.
00:29:48.000 Burberry has now brought out its new line.
00:29:52.000 And its new line, they say, is men wearing sparkly things.
00:29:56.000 So here is a picture of what they think is going to be the new men's fashion style.
00:30:03.000 For men, or for people who can't see, again, this is why you need to subscribe to The Daily Wire, and you need to subscribe to our podcasts.
00:30:10.000 Here is an androgynous-looking human.
00:30:13.000 You have no clue whether this is a man or a woman.
00:30:14.000 I assume this is a man, because it's a male line, but who knows?
00:30:17.000 I mean, given Jaden Smith.
00:30:18.000 First of all, look how bored the people in the background are.
00:30:20.000 These are the people who are supposed to be excited at the brand new fashion-forward thinking of Burberry.
00:30:25.000 This is a guy wearing what looks basically like a tracksuit, except it's super sparkly.
00:30:28.000 It's like if Liza Minnelli wore a tracksuit.
00:30:31.000 And what they say is that all of this, and we can show another one so we can show it's not just a single photo.
00:30:39.000 Now this guy's wearing sparkly pants.
00:30:41.000 So it's not just a sparkly sweater, now he's wearing sparkly pants.
00:30:45.000 And it honestly looks like a photo shoot from Zoolander.
00:30:48.000 All these people look like they're direct from Zoolander.
00:30:51.000 Here's a dude wearing sparkles.
00:30:52.000 We're good to go.
00:31:06.000 It's just an excorable sight.
00:31:07.000 I mean, Mashable is the place that brings you pictures of eight-year-old children and Dragon tells you what heroes the parents are.
00:31:13.000 Mashable, they say, though track jackets in complete sequin could look a little garish, the brand paired each of the looks with tailored outerwear pieces, such as duffel coats, topcoats, military MP coats, and, of course, its trenches.
00:31:26.000 This balance of yin and yang, youthful and traditional, with its styling made for a charming collection.
00:31:31.000 See, it's refreshing to witness a stalwart brand like Burberry take a firm stance on expanding the definitions of masculinity.
00:31:40.000 The modern man is not bound by rigid, outdated definitions of manhood.
00:31:43.000 He can bend, twist, and be as playful as he wants.
00:31:48.000 Um.
00:31:49.000 Okay.
00:31:50.000 Masculinity is a word with a definition.
00:31:52.000 That definition does not include dudes in sequence who are bisexual.
00:31:56.000 Okay?
00:31:57.000 That's not traditional masculinity.
00:31:59.000 That's just not.
00:32:00.000 Okay?
00:32:00.000 Masculinity involves, traditionally, one of the hallmarks of masculinity is the protection of women.
00:32:06.000 And not being one.
00:32:07.000 Right?
00:32:08.000 There are a few distinguishing factors.
00:32:10.000 I'm not saying there can't be gay men who are masculine.
00:32:12.000 There are gay men who are masculine.
00:32:13.000 I know many gay men who are masculine.
00:32:15.000 And there are gay men who are bisexual.
00:32:16.000 But if you dress like a woman, that is not a masculine thing.
00:32:19.000 And if you're wearing traditionally feminine garb, that is not a masculine thing.
00:32:22.000 And I will say that heterosexuality traditionally has been quote-unquote more masculine in the sense
00:32:28.000 Not that men with high levels of testosterone can't be gay.
00:32:31.000 They can.
00:32:31.000 But more traditionally masculine, in the sense that masculinity has been built around the idea that you protect a woman, and that you produce children.
00:32:39.000 Like, these have been two traditional hallmarks of masculinity, and I know this is now politically incorrect.
00:32:43.000 We have to switch the definitions of everything.
00:32:45.000 I'm not saying whether masculinity is good or bad, notice.
00:32:47.000 I think it's a very good thing.
00:32:48.000 There are people who think it's a very bad thing.
00:32:50.000 But some of the traditional aspects of masculinity have included dressing differently than women, and also fathering children, and protecting women.
00:32:58.000 I think these are all plenty good things.
00:32:59.000 I think there's a reason that the Bible says that men should not dress like women, and women should not dress like men.
00:33:04.000 I think that distinctions between the sexes are important, and it's important to reinforce those distinctions between the sexes.
00:33:09.000 Now, I will say, I think there is a brand of man who will wear this who's not gay and has nothing to do with sexuality.
00:33:15.000 I think that there are Israeli guys who wear tracksuits to synagogue, who would wear Burberry sparkly sequined outfits.
00:33:22.000 I think that there are black rappers who would wear Burberry sparkly sequined outfits.
00:33:25.000 I think there are Russian mobsters who would wear Burberry sequined outfits.
00:33:29.000 What I will say is that the idea that we're gonna mainstream sequins for men, that this is some sort of push forward on behalf of sexuality and sexual orientation,
00:33:39.000 Tell the guys who are unloading off of the ships on World War II onto the beaches of Normandy that this is what they were fighting for.
00:33:44.000 It was the right of men to wear sequins.
00:33:46.000 This is what masculinity would become.
00:33:47.000 That their great-grandchildren would be focused specifically on their own bravery in wearing sequins.
00:33:54.000 And they would laugh at you.
00:33:56.000 As well, they should.
00:33:57.000 So, there are a couple of things that I hate.
00:34:01.000 And finally, by the way, this is from USC.
00:34:03.000 This is sort of an incredible story.
00:34:06.000 USC is now requiring students to disclose the number of sexual encounters they have had.
00:34:11.000 A mandatory online course at the University of Southern California, according to Campus Reform,
00:34:15.000 Asked students to disclose the number of sexual encounters they've had over the past three months and teaches students to ask for consent by saying how far would you be comfortable going and would you like to try this with me?
00:34:27.000 In an email obtained by Campus Reform, students were told they must complete the Title IX training in order to register for courses in the spring.
00:34:33.000 So if you want to even register, you have to say how many sexual partners you've had, and you have to go through training that teaches you that if you're about to have sex with somebody, you have to ask them questions like, how far would you like to go, and would you like to try this with me?
00:34:49.000 Nothing is sexier than that, by the way.
00:34:50.000 You're in the middle of going at it with your significant other, and you stop and you say, how far would you like this to go?
00:34:55.000 There's actually a very funny episode of New Girl, in which Zoe Deschanel, how do you pronounce her last name?
00:35:02.000 Deschanel?
00:35:03.000 Deschanel, okay.
00:35:04.000 Zoe Deschanel, it's a flashback of her from prom night in high school, and she's dating a guy who's a complete feminist.
00:35:11.000 And he's asking her permission every step of the way, and it's a very funny bit.
00:35:17.000 But this is basically what they're creating, is they're creating a world where if you're masculine and you want to defend women, and you want to be a man, and you want to dress like a man, and you want to have kids, that's bad.
00:35:27.000 But then because it turns out that men react with aggression, because men are aggressive by nature, then we have to create rules like you have to ask for a signed permission slip every step of the way in order to fight the rape culture.
00:35:38.000 I have another way of fighting the rape culture.
00:35:39.000 It was called Christianity.
00:35:41.000 It was called Judaism.
00:35:42.000 It was called basic standards of behavior, mandated by God, reinforced by your family and your church.
00:35:48.000 Wasn't that nice?
00:35:49.000 Wasn't that fun?
00:35:50.000 And now all that's gone and we went back to the rape culture and it turns out now the only way to get rid of the rape culture in the absence of civilization is to turn men into women.
00:35:58.000 And so we are fully on board with that.
00:36:02.000 Well, welcome to the new United States under President Barack Obama.
00:36:05.000 I'm sure you'll hear all about it tonight in all of its glory.
00:36:08.000 I hope that you dramatically enjoy not watching the State of the Union Address tonight.
00:36:12.000 I will bear that cross for your sins.
00:36:14.000 Yet another Jew that you should thank.
