Elizabeth Warren finally comes under attack, and Joe Biden continues to mumble as Democratic panic sets in. Elizabeth Warren was nothing to write home about last night. She looked weak. Joe Biden, meanwhile, is past his prime. And if you're a Democrat, you're going to want to be suicidal after watching last night's Democratic Debates because it just made the Democrats look bad. The Democratic Party is in a panic, and the panic set in because no one knows what to do with a candidate who's not going to get any traction in the primary, and no one else is going to step up to the plate. And that's why there's a growing sense of panic within the Democratic Party, and in the pundit class, about who's going to be the next candidate to challenge Hillary Clinton in 2020. Ben Shapiro breaks it all down, and explains why it's not just Elizabeth Warren who needs to be worried about losing the 2020 primary, it's also Joe Biden. 00:00:21.000Well, I will tell you that watching the Democratic debate from abroad, it's kind of wild, namely because you're not really in the middle of it.
00:00:28.000Obviously, you are very far away, but also because of the time delay.
00:00:31.000So that means that the Democratic debate ended in Israel about 6 a.m.
00:00:35.000Israel time, which made for a bit of a long night, a bit of a fraught night.
00:00:39.000I mean, if you think that Democratic debates put you to sleep, try watching them at 4 a.m.
00:00:42.000I mean, that will definitely make you want to hang yourself.
00:00:48.000If you're a Democrat and you watch that debate, you got to be a little bit suicidal after watching that debate because it just made the Democrats look bad.
00:00:55.000Right now, Joe Biden remains the sort of national frontrunner according to the RealClearPolitics polling average, but Elizabeth Warren has pulled into the lead in both Iowa and New Hampshire, where she has a slight lead in Iowa over both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, and in New Hampshire, she has a very slight lead over Joe Biden.
00:01:11.000But Elizabeth Warren was nothing to write home about last night.
00:01:16.000Elizabeth Warren is running as this wild-eyed progressive, but she doesn't believe any of this stuff, and so she refuses to actually say this stuff out loud.
00:01:24.000If she were a true believer like Bernie Sanders, she'd just say this stuff out loud.
00:01:27.000Which, by the way, is one reason why Ilhan Omar and AOC and Rashida Tlaib are all talking about endorsing not Elizabeth Warren, but endorsing Bernie Sanders.
00:01:36.000That also Shores up their sort of street cred.
00:01:39.000If they'd endorsed Elizabeth Warren, then they have to ride that hobby horse all the way to the election.
00:01:42.000If they endorse Bernie Sanders, who's going nowhere, then they get to look completely woke and completely committed without actually having to invest any time or effort campaigning for somebody during the primary season and or general election.
00:01:53.000With that said, The debate last night really had a couple of themes.
00:01:56.000Theme number one, Elizabeth Warren under attack is not a strong candidate.
00:02:00.000Elizabeth Warren is great when she is on her talking points.
00:02:02.000She's sort of like Mitt Romney this way.
00:02:15.000He's sort of late-stage Muhammad Ali in his boxing career, and he's losing to fighters he shouldn't lose to.
00:02:21.000And you can see this during the debates.
00:02:23.000During every exchange, he would sort of have one solid comeback, and then he'd sort of collapse in on himself like a dying star, because he didn't have a lot beyond that he can't sustain for a very long period of time in these debates.
00:02:35.000So he has sort of a strong first move, and then he sort of falls over.
00:02:40.000So that was another theme of the night.
00:02:42.000The biggest theme of the night, probably, is that all of the moderates who actually did a lot of damage against the progressive candidates last night, the Bernie Sanderses and the Elizabeth Warrens And some of the other more radical candidates like Beto O'Rourke.
00:02:55.000The sort of moderate wing of the Democratic Party, they make the progressives look bad, but they're not picking up any support inside the Democratic Party because the most passionate part of the Democratic Party is that woke base, that social justice warrior base.
00:03:08.000And so that means they're not going anywhere, even if they are making some pretty good points.
00:03:12.000Now, Joe Biden was supposed to be the marriage of these two things, right?
00:03:15.000He was supposed to bring along the woke progressive base because of his time with Barack Obama, that great progressive hero.
00:03:21.000And at the same time, he was supposed to bring moderates from Ohio and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and Michigan.
00:03:26.000He was supposed to bring all of these blue-collar workers who could have voted for Bernie, but didn't vote for Hillary, and then sort of voted for Trump.
00:03:32.000He was supposed to be the great reach-out candidate to those candidates, but he appears weak.
00:03:37.000And this is leading to a sort of vacuum at the top of the Democratic field.
00:03:40.000And if you are a political pundit, you're starting to see this panic set in.
00:03:44.000In fact, you could see it last night, where commentators on MSNBC were basically lamenting that Elizabeth Warren was so weak.
00:03:54.000But first, let's talk about hiring at your company.
00:03:56.000Okay, the fact is that you may have great people working at your company, or you may have not great people working at your company.
00:04:46.000And when you have second-rate employees, again, not Colton, when you have second-rate employees, then you want to make sure that you place them forthwith So they are not wasting a lot of time and money.
00:04:55.000ZipRecruiter.com slash dailywire and try them out for free.
00:04:58.000ZipRecruiter is the smartest way to hire.
00:05:00.000Here are the commentators on an MSNBC panel last night talking about how Elizabeth Warren looked petulant, how she didn't have good answers to her questions.
00:05:11.000She was annoyed because she came under attack, and she came under a lot of attack on the Medicare for All question and the question of would she raise taxes.
00:05:25.000And she has a formula that she sticks to.
00:05:28.000She says costs will go down for the middle class.
00:05:30.000She will not say that taxes will go up, but other costs will come down, as Bernie Sanders says.
00:05:36.000She just won't go there, and she was pummeled for it.
00:05:39.000Yeah, it makes it look like he's hiding something.
00:05:42.000Chris Hayes comes out and he says the same thing.
00:05:44.000He says there has to be some sort of demand here for a non-Biden alternative to Warren and Sanders because this is weak tea, man.
00:05:53.000Hayes says, I think there's a sort of interesting theory of the case that revolves around Pete Buttigieg.
00:05:58.000And also, I think to a certain extent, Amy Klobuchar, which is the idea that there is some vacuum and demand for a kind of non-Biden alternative to Warren and Sanders.
00:06:09.000And I think that's driven a lot of the thinking about the race.
00:06:12.000I think it's driving the way that people think about where they fit.
00:06:17.000And this is the big question for the race right now, right?
00:06:19.000Is there space for someone who isn't Joe Biden to be in there?
00:06:24.000CNN's John King, who obviously is a member of the most trusted name in news, right?
00:06:30.000He comes out and he says it's pretty obvious that Warren and Biden, as the frontrunners, are also pretty weak frontrunners.
00:06:37.000Without a doubt, I agree that the other candidates on that stage clearly thought it was in their best interest to go after Elizabeth Warren, to go after her on Medicare for All, to go after her economic views, to go after her more broadly, and the idea that they think, especially from the moderates, Too far left will take the country in a way that you can't win here in Ohio and across the Midwest.
00:06:55.000The vice president was almost an afterthought, Joe Biden, in this debate, which is striking in that the early debates, people viewed him as the front runner.
00:07:02.000So bottom line is the Democrats and members of the media, but I repeat myself, they're starting to look at this field and say, this does not look nearly as strong as we thought it was going to look when this field was shaping up.
00:07:14.000Now, there was one area in which they were all unified.
00:07:17.000And this demonstrates why the impeachment effort is being done right here and right now.
00:07:21.000The Democrats do not have the goods for impeachment right now.
00:07:24.000When I say they don't have the goods for impeachment right now, I mean Nancy Pelosi will not even bring up the formal opening of an impeachment inquiry up for vote.
00:07:34.000She's afraid Democrats might vote it down.
00:07:36.000She doesn't have the votes for it quite yet.
00:07:38.000So why not sort of sit around, let the impeachment inquiry move forward, and then as evidence comes out, then you move forward with the impeachment inquiry.
00:07:46.000According to The Hill, Pelosi said on Tuesday she will not stage a vote on the House floor to officially launch an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
00:07:54.000She announced no such vote would take place.
00:07:57.000Right, so the Democrats don't actually have the momentum yet with regard to impeachment, but they are relying very heavily on impeachment.
00:08:05.000Because when it comes to their own ideas, their own ideas are garbage.
00:08:07.000The only thing that they have in common, and the real rallying point, is that they think Trump sucks.
00:08:12.000And you could see that last night in everything the Democrats were saying.
00:08:14.000It began with Elizabeth Warren, who said she called for Trump's impeachment as soon as the Mueller report came out because she wanted to prevent further impeachable offenses.
00:08:22.000Impeachment is the way that we establish that this man will not be permitted to break the law over and over without consequences.
00:08:33.000This is about Donald Trump, but understand, it's about the next president, and the next president, and the next president, and the future of this country.
00:09:01.000She didn't care about the rule of law, obviously.
00:09:04.000What Elizabeth Warren does care about is this unifying feature inside the Democratic Party.
00:09:08.000And so this part of the debate, the early part of the debate, turned into a game of one-upsmanship where the Democrats were like, not only Is Donald Trump a bad man?
00:09:16.000He's the worst man, the worst kind of man.
00:09:19.000And that's how you get Joe Biden, who's been subjected to Trump's attacks on his purported corruption inside Ukraine, which we'll get to in a second.
00:09:26.000Joe Biden saying that Trump is, quote, the most corrupt president in modern history and in all of our history.
00:09:32.000This president, and I agree with Bernie, Senator Sanders, is the most corrupt president in modern history, and I think all of our history.
00:09:40.000And the fact is that this president of the United States has gone so far as to say, since this latest event, that in fact he will not cooperate in any way at all.
00:09:51.000Will not send any witnesses, will not provide any information, will not do anything to cooperate with the impeachment.
00:10:04.000And then you had Kamala Harris, who came out after that, and then she actually said that Trump is not only the most corrupt, he is also the most unpatriotic.
00:10:12.000So they just keep adding on descriptors.
00:10:14.000Kamala Harris is always the person who goes too far at the party.
00:10:17.000Kamala Harris will always go too far at the party.
00:10:26.000Kamala Harris will go one step further.
00:10:28.000Now, the only honest take on the impeachment stuff happened from Tulsi Gabbard.
00:10:31.000Tulsi finally made the debate, and she was interesting.
00:10:34.000At least she provided a level of interest, the congresswoman from Hawaii.
00:10:39.000She said that impeachment appears to be partisan at this point, which of course is true.
00:10:43.000Here is Tulsi Gabbard saying a true thing on stage, which we're not allowed to say.
00:10:48.000If impeachment is driven by these hyper-partisan interests, it will only further divide an already terribly divided country.
00:10:56.000Unfortunately, this is what we've already seen play out as calls for impeachment really began shortly after Trump won his election.
00:11:03.000And as unhappy as that may make us as Democrats, he won that election in 2016.
00:11:08.000Right, but Tulsi is sort of the scold at the party.
00:11:12.000Nobody wants to hang out with Tulsi because Tulsi is saying true things.
00:11:15.000Instead, everybody was high off their own fumes.
00:11:18.000I mean, they're hotboxing themselves inside the VW bug, getting high off the fumes of their own farts about President Trump being impeached.
00:11:26.000Okay, so the debate starts off with that level of unity, and then it quickly begins to degrade.
00:11:35.000But first, let's talk about how you get up in the morning and you do your shaving and you do your toiletries.
00:11:40.000But do you know the best products to use for that stuff?
00:11:43.000I mean, you normally head on over to the Rite Aid or the CVS and you pick up sort of whatever's on the shelf after shopping for half an hour.
00:11:49.000Instead, what you could be doing is receiving the best products in the mail.

00:12:48.000So, Joe Biden is asked, I know, it's unbelievable.
00:12:51.000He actually is asked about the possibility of corruption.
00:12:54.000Here's Anderson Cooper asking Joe Biden about Hunter Biden and corruption inside Ukraine.
00:12:59.000My question is, if it's not okay for a president's family to be involved in foreign businesses, why was it okay for your son when you were vice president?
00:13:33.000What I think is important is we focus on why it's so important to remove this man from office.
00:13:40.000Okay, there's only one problem with what Joe Biden is saying right there, which is that Hunter Biden has already admitted his own poor judgment in getting involved in Ukraine.
00:13:48.000He admitted that the only reason he was involved is because of his daddy's name.
00:13:51.000He said, in retrospect, look, I think it was poor judgment on my part.
00:13:55.000I think it was poor judgment because I don't believe now, and I look back on it, I know there was nothing wrong at all.
00:14:00.000I gave a hook to some very unethical people to act in illegal ways to try and do some harm to my father.
00:15:04.000Like, there was one point in this debate where Cory Booker actually went over to the step-and-repeat in the back of the stage, tore off a piece, and began chewing it and swallowing it.
00:15:41.000He should not have to defend ourselves, and the only person sitting at home that was enjoying that was Donald Trump, seeing that we're distracting from his malfeasance and selling out of his office.
00:15:51.000Yes, Cory Booker, I'm sure that CNN is doing the dirty work of Donald Trump.
00:15:55.000I'm sure that that is exactly what they're trying to do.
00:15:57.000They just lent the first 15 minutes of the debate to why Donald Trump is a very bad, bad orange man, very bad and orange, and why he should be impeached.
00:16:03.000But what they're really trying to do is Donald Trump's dirty work and even asking Joe Biden about the corruption allegations.
00:16:08.000That was not the only attack on Joe Biden.
00:16:11.000Of course, Biden was asked about his health as well because he is 1 million years old.
00:16:15.000And so Aaron Burnett asked Biden about this.
00:16:18.000It didn't go fantastically well for Joe Biden.
00:16:20.000Vice President Biden, if you're elected, you will turn 80 during your first term.
00:16:25.000Last month, former President Jimmy Carter said he could not have undertaken the duties of the presidency at 80 years old.
00:16:46.000We need someone to take office this time around, who on day one can stand on the world stage, command the respect of world leaders from Putin to our allies, and know exactly what has to be done to get this country back on track.
00:17:02.000Okay, well, that is a riff on the Reagan line about not letting youth and inexperience be an obstacle to the presidency when he was debating Walter Mondale.
00:17:11.000But is it really effective for Joe Biden?
00:17:13.000No, because Reagan actually looked like he was still awake in 1984, whereas Joe Biden looks like he has been asleep for at least the last two and a half years.
00:18:47.000I already paid taxes on that stuff, lady.
00:18:49.000You're going to tax me on the stuff that I've already paid taxes on?
00:18:53.000So, if I spend my entire life building up a nest egg for my children, and then the government's already going to try and steal that nest egg when I die, You're gonna try and tax the amount of what, like, so I earn a million bucks, and then I pay half of it to the government, and then I take the rest, and I buy a house with it.
00:19:09.000And then you want to assess the value of the house and tax me on the value of the house every year as a wealth tax.
00:19:14.000How many times can you take a bite at the same apple?
00:19:16.000Anyway, that's just one of Elizabeth Warren's wild and myriad proposals.
00:19:20.000So she is asked by one of the debate moderators last night whether she would raise taxes on the middle class, and she will not answer the question.
00:19:26.000Will you raise taxes on the middle class to pay for it, yes or no?
00:19:32.000So, I have made clear what my principles are here, and that is costs will go up for the wealthy and for big corporations, and for hard-working middle-class families, costs will go down.
00:19:45.000Okay, that is called avoiding the question, what Elizabeth Warren just did there.
00:19:48.000That is just avoiding the question because, again, the answer is yes, your taxes will go up if you're middle class.
00:19:53.000And Bernie Sanders makes this clear, right?
00:19:54.000They went to Bernie Sanders and Bernie was like, yes, I will raise your taxes.
00:20:16.000But first, safety is really important to me.
00:20:18.000I have 24-7 security at this point, thanks to all of the various threats, and so the kind of gear that I have on my house is extremely important to me.
00:20:25.000It's got to be top-notch, which is why I rely on Ring.
00:20:28.000Ring's mission is to make neighborhoods safer.
00:20:30.000You may already know about their smart video doorbells and the cameras that protect millions of people everywhere.
00:20:34.000I've talked about them on the show, right?
00:20:35.000They ring the doorbell, and I can pick up from Israel, and I know who's at my front door.
00:20:39.000Ring helps you stay connected to your home anywhere in the world.
00:20:42.000So if there's a package delivery or a surprise visitor, you get an alert and you're able to see, hear, and speak to them all from your phone.
00:20:48.000More importantly, makes my wife feel safer.
00:20:50.000As a subscriber, over here, you have a special offer on a Ring welcome kit available right now at ring.com slash Ben.
00:20:57.000The kit includes that Ring Video Doorbell 2 and a Chime Pro, which is what you need to start building that ring of security around your home today.
00:21:20.000So, Pete Buttigieg, who got pretty aggressive and feisty in the debate last night, it was one of the things that early on I thought was attractive about Buttigieg is that he seems like a person who actually has the capacity to reason.
00:21:30.000Okay, well, he went after her on the tax issue, and it was not pretty for her.
00:21:35.000Mayor Buttigieg, you say Senator Warren has been, quote, evasive about how she's going to pay for Medicare for All.
00:22:07.000And then Buttigieg goes on, and he explains that her plans are going to alienate a huge number of Americans.
00:22:14.000I don't understand why you believe the only way to deliver affordable coverage to everybody is to obliterate private plans, kicking 150 million Americans off of their insurance in four short years, when we could achieve that same big, bold goal.
00:22:29.000And once again, we have a president, we're competing to be president for the day after Trump.
00:22:34.000Amy Klobuchar goes harder than Buttigieg.
00:22:36.000At least Bernie's being honest here and saying how he's going to pay for this and that taxes are going to go up.
00:22:42.000And I'm sorry, Elizabeth, but you have not said that.
00:22:44.000And I think we owe it to the American people to tell them where we're going to send the invoice.
00:23:55.000The federal budget right now is about $4 trillion a year.
00:23:57.000So it's a near doubling of the federal budget.
00:24:00.000And Elizabeth Warren doesn't have any way to pay for that.
00:24:02.000And this is the constant theme from Elizabeth Warren.
00:24:05.000She's either saying stuff that is so radical that it is impossible to fact check it because she's making moral claims, or she is saying stuff that she herself cannot back up because the data simply do not back it up.
00:24:18.000I mean, here's one of her radical proposals.
00:24:19.000So, Elizabeth Warren is asked about jobs, and Bernie Sanders has already claimed that he wants a universal jobs guarantee, and then you see my boy Andrew Yang, the only person with half a brain on stage, saying, Americans don't want to work for the federal government, and all of that's true.
00:24:32.000Then Elizabeth Warren comes in like the Kool-Aid man, just boom, right through the wall.
00:24:36.000A very mild-mannered Massachusetts Kool-Aid man.
00:24:39.000She is red, so I mean, I guess that works.
00:24:41.000In any case, Elizabeth Warren explains that what she actually wants to do is force every corporation in America to have 40% of its board elected by the employees of the corporation.
00:24:57.000Hey, you think that I'm gonna let the employees over at the Daily Wire vote on their own wages?
00:25:01.000You think that's a thing where they get a vote?
00:25:03.000That is not a thing where they get a vote.
00:25:04.000Because if they did get a vote, then they would probably bankrupt the company, because you have a collective action problem.
00:25:10.000In the companies where you do have employees voting on their own wages, effectively speaking, at the major car manufacturers, for example, they basically bankrupted the car industry through private unionization and government cram downs over the course of decades.
00:25:21.000It turns out that you know who knows how to run the corporations?
00:25:24.000The people who are interested in the profits of the corporation and the business workability of a corporation, not the people who are seeking to suck money out of the corporation in short-sighted fashion.
00:25:36.000And now, there are private sector unions that are willing to work with employers in a sort of cooperative slash adversarial fashion with the tug and the pull, but Elizabeth Warren effectively unionizing every business in America is going to be a giant fail.
00:25:49.000And by the way, if you really believe that employees all want to be unionized, you're going to have to explain the 7% private sector unionization rate in this country.
00:25:57.000It turns out that most employees in this country want to be able to independently negotiate their salaries with the bosses.
00:26:03.000But the principal reason has been bad trade policy.
00:26:06.000The principal reason has been a bunch of corporations, giant multinational corporations, who've been calling the shots on trade.
00:26:14.000Giant multinational corporations that have no loyalty to America.
00:26:19.000They have no loyalty to American workers.
00:26:21.000They have no loyalty to American consumers.
00:26:24.000They have no loyalty to American communities.
00:26:27.000They are loyal only to their own bottom line.
00:26:32.000I have a plan to fix that, and it's accountable capitalism.
00:26:36.000It says you want to have one of the giant corporations in America, then by golly, 40% of your board of directors should be elected by your employees.
00:26:47.000That is an insane violation of freedom of contract.
00:26:50.000It's an insane violation of freedom of association.
00:26:52.000Who the hell is Elizabeth Warren to decide how I run my business?
00:28:28.000I mean, by the way, she's not just punitive, she's immoral.
00:28:32.000There's one point during this debate where Elizabeth Warren actually suggested, in the middle of the debate, that the rich are not like you and me.
00:28:42.000Elizabeth Warren is worth $10 million.
00:29:41.000Senator Warren is 100% right that we're in the midst of the most extreme winner-take-all economy in history.
00:29:47.000And a wealth tax makes a lot of sense in principle.
00:29:49.000The problem is that it's been tried in Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, and all those countries ended up repealing it because it had massive implementation problems and did not generate the revenue that they projected.
00:30:02.000Andrew Yang is exactly right about that.
00:30:03.000Even Beto O'Rourke gets into the act attacking Elizabeth Warren.
00:30:06.000I mean, when Beto, who's an insane person, I mean, almost literally an insane person, I mean, he suggested last week that we basically take away tax exemptions from every religious institution in America.
00:30:18.000Which not only would take away their tax exemptions, as I talked about on Friday, if you listen to the podcast and not just the clips, but also would set the stage for the removal of their business licenses and the non-accreditation of school.
00:30:28.000I mean, Beto O'Rourke is a radical and a wild-eyed radical at that.
00:30:32.000But even Beto is looking at Elizabeth Warren going, What is wrong with you?
00:30:36.000And Senator Warren said, show me your budget, show me your tax plan, and you'll show me your values.
00:30:41.000She has yet to describe her tax plan and whether or not that person I met would see a tax increase.
00:30:46.000Under my administration, if you make less than $250,000 a year as a family, you will not see a tax increase.
00:31:51.000And in just a second, we will talk about the democratic policies with regard to abortion, where again, Tulsi Gabbard is the only voice of reason.
00:33:51.000So it wasn't just the Democrats being radical on economics.
00:33:53.000They were also being radical on the social issues, as per their usual arrangement.
00:33:57.000On abortion, they were particularly radical.
00:33:59.000Tulsi Gabbard sounded the only dissenting note because Gabbard said, yes, there should be some third trimester restrictions in place, which, by the way, is a broad spectrum position in the United States.
00:34:09.000There's basically one third of Americans who believe that all abortions should be off the table.
00:34:15.000And there's like one third of Americans who believe that no abortions should be off the table.
00:34:20.000And then there's like 70% of Americans who believe that some abortion restrictions should be on the table, including third trimester abortions.
00:34:26.000Tulsi Gabbard said that during the third trimester abortion should not be an option unless life or severe health consequences of a woman are at risk.
00:34:32.000Good for Tulsi Gabbard for saying the unsayable.
00:34:34.000But the other Democrats were certainly not having any of that.
00:34:37.000Again, the most amusing candidate on the stage right now is definitely Kamala Harris, because she's trying so hard.
00:34:43.000A for effort for Kamala Harris, because she's not going anywhere.
00:34:47.000She had that one first grade debate, and it was her moment, her leap to stardom, and then the ground just collapsed underneath the weight of her, and boom, she was just on the ground.
00:34:56.000And ever since then, She has been pledging to turn herself into Stalin in order to earn your love.
00:35:03.000She would do anything for love, include liquidating the Kulaks.
00:35:07.000In any case, Kamala Harris, here's what she has to say about abortion.
00:35:16.000For any state that passes a law that violates the Constitution, and in particular Roe v. Wade, Our Department of Justice will review that law to determine if it is compliant with Roe v. Wade and the Constitution.
00:35:30.000And if it is not, that law will not go into effect.
00:35:37.000I questioned Brett Kavanaugh when I was a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and asked him, as a nominee to serve on the United States Supreme Court, could he think of any law that tells a man what to do with his body?
00:35:52.000Couple of things about this particular clip that are crazy.
00:35:56.000One, preclearance is unconstitutional.
00:35:59.000Preclearance is unconstitutional on this matter, as many other matters.
00:36:03.000The federal government does not get to act.
00:36:05.000The legislature, the executive branch, they do not get to act as a check on state legislatures.
00:36:09.000That is the job of the federal judiciary, if you believe in the incorporation doctrine.
00:36:13.000The federal government, generally, does not get to act without the authority to do this on an executive basis.
00:36:19.000That's a wild usurpation of power and a destruction of federalism.
00:36:22.000And then her comment that there's not a single law that tells a man what to do with his body?
00:36:28.000Try virtually every law that applies to human beings.
00:36:31.000I'm not allowed to use my body to smack my employees.
00:36:34.000I'm not allowed to use my body to sell drugs.
00:36:37.000There are lots of different things you're not allowed to do with your body.
00:36:40.000The only thing that is different between men and women when it comes to this is that men don't have another human being inside their body unless they're Jeffrey Dahmer.
00:36:46.000That's not something that you're supposed to have inside if you're a woman.
00:36:50.000You have another human being in there.
00:36:56.000And if she decides to harm that human, she's not just doing something with her body, she's doing something with that human's body, as all of us know.
00:37:19.000He says that not only is he going to do something about abortion, he's gonna set up, get ready for it, guys, a cabinet-level position at the White House to talk about stuff.
00:37:33.000So the way, as President of the United States, I'm gonna deal with this is, first of all, elevating it, like we have with other national crises, to a White House-level position.
00:37:41.000And I will create the Office of Reproductive Freedom and Reproductive Rights in the White House.
00:37:47.000And make sure that we begin to fight back on a systematic attempt that's gone on for decades to undermine Roe v. Wade.
00:37:55.000Oh, because you need an agency for that?
00:37:57.000Oh, like you haven't been using Health and Human Services for that?
00:38:08.000Because Democrats just lie freely and openly about what they want the Supreme Court to be.
00:38:14.000And Pete Buttigieg sort of lets the cat out of the bag here.
00:38:16.000So they keep saying things like, we want justices who represent the values of the American people and defend the Constitution.
00:38:21.000We don't just want justices who defend all of our favorite political positions.
00:38:24.000And then Pete Buttigieg is like, well, well, maybe I'm just going to appoint justices who agree totally with everything I agree with politically.
00:38:34.000What's your response to the Vice President?
00:38:36.000When I proposed reforming the Supreme Court, some folks said that was too bold to even contemplate.
00:38:41.000Now, I'm not talking about packing the court just with people who agree with me.
00:38:45.000Although I certainly will appoint people who share my values.
00:38:48.000For example, the idea that women's reproductive freedom is an American right.
00:38:55.000One clause in that sentence doesn't match with the other clause in that sentence.
00:38:58.000When he says, I'm not just going to appoint people who agree with me, I'm going to appoint people who share my values, that's, um, dude, that's people who agree with you.
00:39:08.000I'm not sure if you know what agree means, but that would be like people who agree with you.
00:39:18.000of this debate, where Democrats who cheered wildly as Barack Obama pulled American troops out of Iraq, leading to the rise of ISIS, are very, very angry at Donald Trump for pulling American troops out of certain areas of Syria, leading to the rise of ISIS.
00:39:33.000And as we've seen over the past few days, President Trump basically announces this thing.
00:39:37.000And within 24 hours, the Kurds are getting the crap bombed out of them.
00:39:40.000And now the Kurds are trying to make common cause with Bashar Assad simply so they don't get annihilated by the Kurds.
00:39:45.000So this has been going just fantastic by the Turks.
00:39:49.000This has been going just phenomenally well.
00:39:51.000But Democrats saying anything about it?
00:39:54.000Just gonna point out, you guys didn't have a lot to say when it was Barack Obama losing a victory that had already been won in Iraq after the surge.
00:40:01.000Here was Joe Biden pretending that he has any, any leverage to talk about foreign policy.
00:40:05.000Joe Biden has been wrong about every major foreign policy issue for 30 years.
00:40:10.000One of the great disappointments of my adult life, politically speaking, was watching Paul Ryan debate Joe Biden, and Joe Biden just lying and making things up about foreign policy.
00:40:19.000He talked about tossing the Iranians out of Lebanon, which has never happened.
00:40:26.000Warbling and rambling all over the stage.
00:40:29.000I would not have withdrawn the troops, and I would not have drawn the additional thousand troops who are in Iraq, which are in retreat now, being fired on by Assad's people, and the President of the United States saying, if those ISIS folks escape from the prisons they're in, they'll only go to Europe and won't affect us.
00:40:45.000It has been the most shameful thing that any president has done in modern history, excuse me, in terms of foreign policy.
00:40:56.000Just gonna, just gonna, like it's bad.
00:40:58.000I agree it's bad, but your boss pulled out of Iraq and called ISIS the JV squad, and within two years, ISIS had taken over a vast swath of territory larger than the size of Great Britain.
00:41:10.000So yeah, you were there for that, dude.
00:41:25.000And stumble all over themselves when asked about the implications of their own policies.
00:41:29.000My favorite moment, in terms of somebody who was caught out on his own policy and then had to backtrack his own policy, but then sort of admitted that his own policy does what his critics say it will do, was Beto.
00:42:19.000All the other Democrats keep trying to grasp the ring, and for a moment in time, They will have the ring, and then the ring will utterly destroy them.
00:42:28.000So, Beto O'Rourke is one of those people.
00:42:29.000He started off as, look at me, I'm a moderate, I can unify people, and I talk happy talk, and it's great, and I have very weird arms, and I move my arms up and down.
00:42:38.000I don't know why I'm doing a sort of weird southern accent there, except that Beto is sort of a weird used car salesman who seems like he should speak like that.
00:42:50.000So Beto has been saying for now months that he wants to remove every AR in America, every single Armolite rifle, every single rifle that works in America that is not a bolt-action World War I-era rifle he wants to remove.
00:43:06.000And he wants to make it illegal to sell them, and he wants to remove them, the existing ones, right, through a gun buyback.
00:43:11.000And people have been saying, so what are you going to do, go door to door and take people's guns away?
00:43:14.000And Beto's like, no, bro, I'm not going to do that.
00:43:17.000People are just going to abide like the dude.
00:43:20.000They're just going to abide by the law.
00:43:21.000So Beto was asked about that last night, and he had to walk back his own statements 40 different ways.
00:43:28.000We don't go door-to-door to do anything in this country to enforce the law.
00:43:32.000I expect Republicans, Democrats, gun owners, non-gun owners alike to respect and follow the law.
00:43:37.000If someone does not turn in an AR-15 or an AK-47, one of these weapons of war, or brings it out in public and brandishes it in an attempt to intimidate, as we saw when we were at Kent State recently, then that weapon will be taken from them.
00:43:52.000If they persist, there will be other consequences from law enforcement.
00:43:57.000So, Beto should just know, those other consequences from law enforcement involve police officers coming to your house and arresting you.
00:44:05.000He literally says there, if someone does not turn in an AR-15 or an AK-47, dot dot dot, there will be other consequences from law enforcement.
00:44:16.000Sounds a lot like people going door to door and taking your guns away, Beto, because how else are they going to know whether you turned in the gun?
00:44:22.000Again, the Democrats do not want to live with the consequences of their own policy.
00:44:27.000And the funniest part of the debate last night was when other Democrats were pointing this out.
00:44:30.000So Pete Buttigieg pointed this out to Beto.
00:44:32.000Pete Buttigieg, who is the kid in school who always brings the polished apple to the teacher, his teacher's pet.
00:44:57.000And I don't need lessons from you on courage, political or personal.
00:45:03.000Everyone on this stage is determined to get something done.
00:45:07.000Everyone on this stage recognizes, or at least I thought we did, that the problem is not other Democrats who don't agree with your particular idea of how to handle this.
00:45:16.000Ooh, Pete Buttigieg, getting feisty there.
00:45:32.000Right now, in my life, my son is incredibly fussy, right?
00:45:35.000We went all the way across the world, and he has been lacking sleep.
00:45:38.000And this means that he is yelling a lot, and he is fussing a lot, and that means that he's getting a lot of attention, because It's difficult to deal with a screaming three-year-old who refuses to sit in his car seat when you're about to go on an hour-long drive.
00:45:48.000Well, this has prompted my five-year-old daughter...
00:46:04.000All the other Democrats on stage are getting some sort of attention.
00:46:09.000Elizabeth Warren has gotten attention.
00:46:10.000And Kamala Harris is standing in the corner screaming that she is not getting attention.
00:46:14.000Screaming that she's not getting attention.
00:46:16.000My favorite attack from, so Harris went after Warren, right?
00:46:19.000Warren's getting all the attention for some reason because the media love a boring, really, really condescending Harvard Law professor who has plans that don't stack up in any real way.
00:46:35.000And Kamala Harris is getting tired of all this.
00:46:37.000So she has my daughter coming in and saying, I want attention, I'm gonna scream in your face until I get it.
00:46:42.000And she just blows Elizabeth Warren's hair back with this one.
00:46:45.000Senator Warren, I just want to say that I was surprised to hear that you did not agree with me that on this subject of what should be the rules around corporate responsibility for these big tech companies, when I called on Twitter to suspend Donald Trump's account, that you did not agree, and I would urge you to join me.
00:47:58.000Kamala Harris, the definition of trying too hard in the dictionary, under trying too hard, under pressing, is just a picture of Kamala Harris looking sad.
00:48:08.000So this entire debate closes with Joe Biden getting into it with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
00:48:15.000And people are giving points to Sanders and Warren for this, but frankly, I don't think it's justified.
00:48:20.000So Biden concludes by pointing out, guys, I'm the only one on the stage who's actually done anything.
00:48:24.000All of you guys sit here and you talk and you're useless.
00:48:27.000I'm going to say something that is probably going to offend some people here, but I'm the only one on this stage who's gotten anything really big done.
00:48:33.000From the Violence Against Women Act, to making sure that we passed the Affordable Care Act, to being in a position where we in fact took almost a $90 billion act that kept us from going into a depression.
00:48:45.000Okay, and then Biden says, some of us have vague plans, and he's asked, so who's vague?
00:48:49.000excuse me, able to end the issue of gun sales in terms of assault weapons.
00:50:16.000Elizabeth Warren is the frontrunner and she does not look particularly strong.
00:50:19.000And Trump is going to hit her a lot harder than any of the other Democrats did.
00:50:22.000So if you're a Democrat, right now, bank on impeachment.
00:50:25.000Because if you don't impeach this guy, if you don't come up with something stronger than you got in terms of this campaign, he's going to get re-elected.
00:50:33.000Because so far, you're presenting nothing.
