The Ben Shapiro Show - Goodbye, Kamala! | Ep. 909

00:00:00.000 Kamala Harris drops out, the other 2020 presidential candidates jockey for position, and House Democrats release their massive 300-page impeachment report.

00:00:08.000 I am Ben Shapiro.

00:00:09.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:15.000 The Ben Shapiro Show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:17.000 Why haven't you gotten a VPN yet?

00:00:19.000 I mean, seriously, what are you waiting for?

00:00:21.000 Visit ExpressVPN.com slash Ben.

00:00:23.000 Well, it's a sad day.

00:00:25.000 A sad day, because one of our favorite candidates here at the Ben Shapiro Show, Kamala Harris, the illustrious senator from my home state, who is a terrible attorney general, and she's a terrible senator, Most well known in the Senate for pushing conspiracy theories about how Brett Kavanaugh was potentially a gang rapist and pushing standards of evidence that would not pass like a straight jury trial in any normal county in the United States, Kamala Harris

00:00:52.000 Who soared to the lead very briefly and then immediately crashed and burned like the Hindenburg.

00:00:57.000 Well, finally, she called it quits yesterday, months in advance of the first primary, which is pretty shocking, considering that my theory was that this was going to be sort of a wheel of fortune, that basically everybody was going to get a shot at the top, that if Kamala Harris had stuck around long enough, the media would have done second look at Kamala.

00:01:11.000 Well, instead, she dropped out yesterday.

00:01:14.000 And honestly, I'm really sad about it.

00:01:16.000 All I can think about are all the memories we shared together.

00:01:18.000 Thank you.

00:02:10.000 My favorite tweet on all of this, by the way, comes from the inestimably horrible columnist Jennifer Rubin.

00:02:16.000 So Jennifer Rubin, you will recall.

00:02:18.000 It was once the conservative columnist for the Washington Post, and then, instead of just getting rid of her when it was obvious that she was not conservative, they just were like, oh yeah, she's not our conservative columnist anymore, she's just not conservative.

00:02:29.000 She'll remain our columnist, she just won't be conservative anymore. 0.50

00:02:32.000 Which I guess is one way to approach it, but for years, they kept calling her conservative, even as she kept moving to the left and to the left.

00:02:38.000 So she tweeted out, after all of this, if empathy and joy determined presidential elections, Harris would lap the field.

00:02:47.000 If by empathy, you mean complete executive tyranny and locking up truant mothers, absolutely. 0.99

00:02:52.000 And if by joy, you mean creepy, inappropriate laughter that puts you second on the list to succeed Joaquin Phoenix, then sure, empathy and joy.

00:03:02.000 Empathy and joy, Kamala Harris.

00:03:04.000 By the way, it's not that we revel in the downfall of political adversaries.

00:03:06.000 There are all sorts of people on the left who are going to drop out of this race, and you're not going to hear me cheer them. 0.98

00:03:11.000 Beto, I cheered.

00:03:12.000 I cheered because Beto is actually awful and wanted to run roughshod over our rights. 1.00

00:03:17.000 Well Kamala Harris is exactly the same except she's more cynical and more calculated and I think more dangerous. 0.99

00:03:22.000 So, her going, she gets exactly what she deserves. 0.80

00:03:25.000 Every bit of mockery is earned.

00:03:27.000 The fact that her campaign soared to the top and then absolutely flamed out.

00:03:30.000 Icarus flying too close to the sun and those wings just melting.

00:03:34.000 Quite beautiful.

00:03:35.000 I think it says something good about the Democratic Party, honestly, that Harris is out.

00:03:37.000 One of the things that I think that it says that is good is that black voters in the Democratic Party never latched onto Harris. 0.98

00:03:44.000 Which is great, because frankly, identity politics sucks. 0.95

00:03:46.000 And if they latched onto Harris simply because of the color of her skin, or if they latched onto Cory Booker simply because of the color of his skin, that'd become a racist. 0.96

00:03:53.000 The fact that black voters have turned toward Joe Biden instead of turning toward Kamala Harris or Cory Booker is a good thing for the country. 0.96

00:03:58.000 Just like I think that white voters should not judge people on the basis of their color.

00:04:03.000 I don't think they should only elect white people.

00:04:05.000 I don't think the black voters should only elect black people. 0.88

00:04:06.000 That says a good thing that the Democratic Party seems to have missed in their craze for intersectionality. 0.82

00:04:12.000 And as we'll see, the media simply don't understand it.

00:04:15.000 The media believe that the black community in the United States, black voters in the United States should have resonated to Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.

00:04:22.000 All the white members of the media, they cannot understand why black voters didn't automatically rush in droves to a candidate as awful and off-putting as Kamala Harris, or as awful and off-putting as Cory Booker, who To be fair, it's a lot better than Kamala Harris.

00:04:37.000 They can't understand it.

00:04:38.000 The media's coverage of this is also hilarious because the media seems to have noticed that Elizabeth Warren is a white person.

00:04:43.000 It only took them, like, several years of claiming that she was actually Native American to realize that she is actually a white person.

00:04:50.000 We'll get to all of that in just one second.

00:04:52.000 First, let's talk about the fact that your car, right now in LA, we are experiencing rain.

00:04:57.000 I know.

00:04:58.000 This is not what I signed up for.

00:04:59.000 Well, rain, sun, wind, dirt, salt, all of these things wreck the look of your car.

00:05:05.000 Which is why I'm going to talk to you now about the Last Coat.

00:06:05.000 Text BEN25 to 29071 to take advantage of this limited time offer.

00:06:11.000 Okay, so Kamala Harris put out the announcement. 0.97

00:06:13.000 She also, her husband put out, honestly I thought it was kind of a rather sweet tweet of him hugging her and saying, I've still got you, which is nice.

00:06:20.000 But her campaign announcement that she was suspending is fairly ridiculous.

00:06:24.000 She says, 11 months ago, at the launch of our campaign in Oakland, I told you all, I am not perfect, but I will always speak with decency and moral clarity and treat all people with dignity and respect. 0.90

00:06:33.000 Unless they are accused truant mothers, I'll throw them in jail and threaten them, or potential Supreme Court justices who disagree with me on Roe vs. Wade, then I will unfairly persecute them and pretend that I have evidence that they're gang rapists.

00:06:44.000 She doesn't say that last part.

00:06:45.000 That's just the part that's true.

00:06:47.000 She says, I will lead with integrity.

00:06:48.000 I will speak the truth.

00:06:49.000 And that's what I've tried to do every day of this campaign.

00:06:51.000 So here's the truth today.

00:06:53.000 I've taken stock and looked at this from every angle and over the last few days have come to one of the hardest decisions of my life.

00:06:58.000 My campaign for president simply doesn't have the financial resources we need to continue.

00:07:03.000 I'm not a billionaire.

00:07:04.000 I can't fund my own campaign.

00:07:06.000 And as the campaign has gone on, it's become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete.

00:07:09.000 Now, I will say it is hysterically funny to watch as every major Democrat now complains that there's too much money in politics on the Democratic side of the aisle.

00:07:17.000 We haven't even reached the general election yet.

00:07:20.000 And I'll show you.

00:07:21.000 All the Democrats today are claiming that the reason that Kamala Harris is out, the reason Cory Booker is experiencing trouble, is because they can't raise money.

00:07:27.000 And if only they were billionaires like, what, Joe Biden?

00:07:30.000 Joe Biden is, I think, the poorest person on the Democratic side of the aisle.

00:07:34.000 Maybe Pete Buttigieg.

00:07:35.000 One of the two. 1.00

00:07:36.000 Buttigieg hasn't been having trouble raising any money because he's a crap candidate. 0.98

00:07:40.000 Biden has been having trouble raising money, but he's got name recognition. 0.95

00:07:44.000 So the complaints that I'm not a billionaire so I couldn't get ahead in this race, there was a point where Kamala Harris was your poll leader. 0.57

00:07:49.000 In fact, there was a point where she was bragging about how she was your poll leader. 0.95

00:07:52.000 Right after Tulsi Gabbard slapped her during one of the debates, Kamala Harris said that she was a top candidate. 0.99

00:07:58.000 In fact, she was a top tier candidate. 0.97

00:08:00.000 This is one of the charming things that makes Kamala Harris one of the earliest candidates to drop out of this race. 0.99

00:08:05.000 This is gonna sound immodest, but I'm obviously a top-tier candidate, and so I did expect that I would be on the stage and take hits tonight, because there are a lot of people that are trying to make the stage for the next debate.

00:08:15.000 Yeah, for a lot of them it's do or die.

00:08:17.000 Well, yeah, and especially when people are at 0 or 1% or whatever she might be at.

00:08:21.000 And so I did expect that I might take hits tonight.

00:08:24.000 By the way, guess who's still in the race?

00:08:25.000 Tulsi Gabbard.

00:08:27.000 Now, by the way, the conventional wisdom that you're seeing online, which is that Tulsi Gabbard slapping at Kamala Harris basically killed Harris's candidacy, that is not true.

00:08:34.000 Kamala Harris started dipping in the polls as soon as she achieved the lead because she's awful. 1.00

00:08:39.000 Because she was lying about her Medicare for All plan.

00:08:42.000 She flip-flopped on that eight different ways from Sunday.

00:08:45.000 Because she lied about her own criminal justice record. 0.73

00:08:48.000 Because, again, she's personally extremely off-putting.

00:08:52.000 I mean, more so than even people like Elizabeth Warren?

00:08:55.000 More so than Cory Booker?

00:08:57.000 Tulsi Gabbard, I mean, the subtlest cuts cut deepest.

00:09:00.000 Here's Tulsi Gabbard tweeting out, Sending my best wishes to Kamala Harris, her family and supporters who have campaigned so hard.

00:09:05.000 While we disagree on some issues, we agree on others.

00:09:07.000 And I respect her sincere desire to serve the American people.

00:09:10.000 I look forward to working together on the challenges we face as a nation.

00:09:13.000 Well, that kind of hurts considering how Tulsi Gabbard stabbed her directly in the chest in one of the earlier debates.

00:09:20.000 Remember this glorious moment when Tulsi Gabbard just finished Kamala Harris on the stage.

00:09:25.000 Senator Harris says she's proud of her record as a prosecutor and that she'll be a prosecutor president, but I'm deeply concerned about this record.

00:09:33.000 There are too many examples to cite, but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana. 1.00

00:09:42.000 She blocked evidence.

00:09:44.000 She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so.

00:09:51.000 She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California. 1.00

00:09:57.000 And she fought to keep the cash bail system in place. 1.00

00:10:01.000 How we?

00:10:02.000 Well, now Tulsi Gabbard vids her a fond aloha.

00:10:05.000 Aloha.

00:10:06.000 Catch you later.

00:10:07.000 Tulsi Gabbard just sitting over there, strumming the ukulele, having herself a grand old time.

00:10:12.000 Again, it wasn't Tulsi Gabbard that put Harris out of the race.

00:10:14.000 It was Harris who put Harris out of the race.

00:10:16.000 Her original attack on Joe Biden, which sent her soaring in the polls and the media just gushing over her, was a dishonest attack. 0.88

00:10:21.000 This was her big moment.

00:10:24.000 Her only big moment in the race is when she was hitting Joe Biden on forced busing, suggesting that Joe Biden was a racist for not supporting forced busing in the 1970s.

00:10:31.000 By the way, she doesn't support force busing.

00:10:34.000 Virtually no one really supported forced busing in the 1970s because it was a bad policy.

00:10:38.000 Forcing children out of their local schools, forcing them onto buses to drive an hour to schools where they knew no one, was a bad policy that ended with white flight to suburban areas and different local school districts. 0.53

00:10:50.000 I mean, that's what forced busing resulted in. 0.84

00:10:53.000 In fact, Kamala Harris knew that, which is why she doesn't back busing today. 1.00

00:10:56.000 It was obvious.

00:10:56.000 I mean, I talked about this at length at the time.

00:10:58.000 I think I did a full podcast on Kamala Harris's dishonesty on busing. 1.00

00:11:02.000 Here is Kamala Harris attacking Joe Biden.

00:11:04.000 This was her only great moment in the race, and it fell apart immediately, like immediately, because it was obvious that she was lying.

00:11:11.000 It was hurtful.

00:11:13.000 To hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country.

00:11:26.000 And it was not only that, but you also worked with them to oppose busing.

00:11:32.000 And, you know, there was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools.

00:11:40.000 And she was bused to school every day.

00:11:43.000 And that little girl was me.

00:11:46.000 Okay, well, it turned out that her whole story on busing was, at the very least, deeply flawed.

00:11:52.000 And also, her attack on Biden for suggesting that he had to work with senators he didn't even like, which was his actual quote, that backfired on her dramatically.

00:12:01.000 But here's the good news.

00:12:01.000 We will always have the bizarre, off-putting, Howard Dean-like video of Kamala Harris walking out of a building and laughing at a bus.

00:12:09.000 We'll always have that to share together.

00:12:11.000 Here is that video one last time as we bid a fond farewell to Kamala Harris.

00:12:16.000 Oh my god, I love it!

00:12:18.000 Oh wow!

00:12:19.000 Look at the bus!

00:12:22.000 That was take seven.

00:12:24.000 That was take seven.

00:12:24.000 The first six takes were not nearly as enthusiastic, but she had to really get herself up for it.

00:12:29.000 Look at her bus. 0.70

00:12:29.000 That bus will now be repurposed back to the California Department of Corrections where it will jail. 0.70

00:12:34.000 Low-level marijuana violators at the behest of Kamala Harris.

00:12:37.000 By the way, I'm expecting the Department of Corrections to show up at my door for criticizing Kamala Harris because she is still the senator from this awful state. 1.00

00:12:42.000 The real downside to Kamala Harris dropping out of the race is now she can focus on making my home state even more garbage-y than it already is. 1.00

00:12:48.000 We will get to more on the Democratic side of the aisle, more on the Democratic race momentarily.

00:12:53.000 But first, let's talk about how you need better frames on pictures you have at home.

00:12:58.000 Okay, the fact is that an inexpensive frame can really make a great portrait, a great photo, look crappy.

00:14:23.000 So, as I say, it is wonderful to watch all of the candidates that Kamala Harris attacked now bid her a fond farewell.

00:14:29.000 Here was Joe Biden bidding her a fond farewell.

00:14:32.000 My reaction is, she is a first-rate intellect, a first-rate candidate, and it's a real competitor.

00:14:41.000 Nope.

00:14:41.000 I've mixed emotions about her.

00:14:44.000 Because she is really a solid, solid person.

00:14:48.000 Reloaded with talent.

00:14:50.000 And I'm sure she's not dropping out and wanting to make the changes she cares about.

00:14:55.000 One of the things I love about Joe Biden is that he is so rankly dishonest in so many ways, but every so often he says things and his face betrays him.

00:15:03.000 As he gets older, the sort of grin that he pastes on that mug, it's becoming more and more obvious when he's actually happy inside.

00:15:11.000 And that entire clip, he can barely hold back from chortling.

00:15:14.000 He can barely hold back from chortling.

00:15:16.000 It's great.

00:15:17.000 He's like, I have mixed feelings.

00:15:18.000 He's like, I have mixed feelings about this, guys.

00:15:21.000 Like, really, mixed feelings.

00:15:23.000 Like, I can't even express how mixed these feelings are.

00:15:27.000 If you actually watch the clip, he is smiling while he says he has mixed feelings.

00:15:34.000 Oh, she deserves it so much. 0.98

00:15:36.000 She's so awful. 1.00

00:15:37.000 She's so awful. 1.00

00:15:38.000 Well, the media's angle on this is, of course, that everybody's a racist. 1.00

00:15:42.000 It's not that she's a garbage candidate, because Cory Booker is still in the race, by the way. 0.92

00:15:45.000 And it's not that we had, I don't know, a two-term black president who was elected overwhelmingly both times. 1.00

00:15:52.000 No, it's that everybody is a racist again. 0.90

00:15:54.000 See how this works?

00:15:55.000 You see how this works?

00:15:56.000 Every time a black person is elected, that is symptomatic of the fact that America Has moved, has somehow gotten past its own racism, but only momentarily, only momentarily, only for like eight years.

00:16:07.000 And then, Obama's no longer in office, and everybody goes right back to, you know what? 0.96

00:16:11.000 Everybody's racist again.

00:16:12.000 Weird!

00:16:13.000 Weird! 1.00

00:16:14.000 It's this idiotic, bizarre notion that That outcome determines intent. 0.99

00:16:21.000 Okay, meaning that it's not that intent determines outcome. 0.99

00:16:24.000 It's that if the outcome is not what you want, then you can infer the intent from what happened.

00:16:27.000 So if Barack Obama was elected, that means that the American people got past racism for like half a second.

00:16:31.000 But if they don't resonate to Kamala Harris or Cory Booker, mainly because both of them are wildly rehearsed, Kamala Harris was mechanical.

00:16:40.000 I mean, she's just a bad actress. 1.00

00:16:41.000 Cory Booker is over the top.

00:16:43.000 He's like Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman.

00:16:45.000 Everything that Cory Booker does is wild-eyed and crazy, and so he has not caught on with anyone.

00:16:49.000 He's also manipulative, and everybody sort of gets that. 0.93

00:16:52.000 But the media's play is that if Cory Booker or Kamala Harris are not on the final debate stage, that is because Democratic voters are racist.

00:16:59.000 I feel like Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi.

00:17:03.000 Good, good!

00:17:06.000 Yes, do this media, do this!

00:17:08.000 Please, tell all the Democrats how they are vastly racist because they don't love Kamala Harris or Cory Booker.

00:17:13.000 And basically, the entire media, we're doing this, right? 0.57

00:17:16.000 There was a whole MSNBC panel explaining that Kamala Harris had it rough because she's a black woman. 1.00

00:17:22.000 Let's be straight about this.

00:17:23.000 If Kamala Harris were a white woman, she never would have been running for president in the first place. 1.00

00:17:27.000 She's a, what, a first-term senator? 1.00

00:17:29.000 From California?

00:17:30.000 Who is not popular in her own home state?

00:17:32.000 No one likes her here?

00:17:34.000 Everybody kind of is like, okay, Kamala?

00:17:36.000 Like, really?

00:17:36.000 Nobody's in th- She was going to lose her home state.

00:17:38.000 The reason she dropped out this early is because she was going to completely bomb in her own home state. 1.00

00:17:43.000 That's the reality.

00:17:45.000 Hey, the only reason that she was considered a national candidate is because the media were calling her the female Obama. 0.50

00:17:49.000 They were saying, oh, she's a black woman, and therefore she checks all the intersectional boxes. 1.00

00:17:53.000 It's why everybody saw her as a deep threat. 1.00

00:17:56.000 Even though she has no record, she's produced no serious legislation.

00:17:59.000 Her main moment on the stage of the Senate was ripping into Brett Kavanaugh on false auspices. 1.00

00:18:04.000 Kamala Harris, by the way, out of the presidential race, Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

00:18:08.000 That's a win for President Trump right there.

00:18:10.000 Here's the MSNBC panel, however, declaring that really Kamala's a victim.

00:18:14.000 She's a victim. 0.98

00:18:14.000 Now, if Harris is a victim of anything, it's of the fact that she's horrible, that she's absolutely terrible. 0.98

00:18:20.000 But here's MSNBC declaring that she had it rough because she's a black woman, despite all the evidence that she actually had it a lot easier from the media specifically because she's a black woman.

00:18:30.000 I think that women are still held to different standards as candidates. 0.99

00:18:33.000 They have to have well-run campaigns.

00:18:34.000 Never mind that Donald Trump didn't have a campaign.

00:18:37.000 Hillary flew around with hope ironing his pants. 0.98

00:18:40.000 They have to be perfect on the stump, which I never saw her stumble.

00:18:44.000 Joe Biden is beloved.

00:18:46.000 I'm a fan.

00:18:47.000 He's never perfect on the stump.

00:18:48.000 I mean, I do think there is a gender piece here that we still suck at talking about. 0.93

00:18:52.000 She had the double-edged sword of not just being a woman, but being an African-American woman, and the judgment and the standards that she had to deal with with that baggage.

00:19:03.000 Yes, let the hate flow through you.

00:19:06.000 Every moment you become more my servant.

00:19:09.000 Yes!

00:19:10.000 Yes!

00:19:10.000 Great!

00:19:11.000 Do this!

00:19:12.000 Do this!

00:19:12.000 Seriously, it's the double-edged sword, don't you see?

00:19:14.000 See, the Democrats are racist now.

00:19:16.000 The Democratic voters, they're the ones who are not polling for her. 0.51

00:19:19.000 Andrew Yang was getting better numbers than she was. 0.97

00:19:22.000 And it's because the Democrat voters are racist.

00:19:23.000 So I'm glad to see that MSNBC elites are now turning to their own voting base and saying, you guys are racist because you didn't love Kamala Harris. 0.73

00:19:31.000 It's wonderful.

00:19:32.000 And this was the message across media yesterday.

00:19:35.000 This was the message across media.

00:19:36.000 It also carried a sort of covert message that was hilarious.

00:19:40.000 So CNN's Brianna Keillor, she said, now the stage, I mean, look at this stage.

00:19:44.000 This stage is old and white.

00:19:47.000 White. 0.81

00:19:48.000 So many white people.

00:19:50.000 Woohoo! 1.00

00:19:51.000 There's Brianna Keillor.

00:19:53.000 Wow.

00:19:54.000 Whiter.

00:19:54.000 Older.

00:19:54.000 So bad.

00:19:54.000 interesting point there at the end.

00:19:55.000 Jeff made this becomes an older and wider field for the top tier candidates.

00:20:00.000 It certainly does.

00:20:01.000 And I think it's a lesson in how when you run for the presidency, you need to have a message and you need to stick to it.

00:20:08.000 I think she made a decision and her staff made a decision that she just didn't want to be embarrassed in her home state.

00:20:16.000 And you're right.

00:20:17.000 The field is looking a lot whiter and a lot older.

00:20:20.000 Wow.

00:20:21.000 Whiter, older, so bad. 0.96

00:20:23.000 White, old. 0.98

00:20:25.000 So Cory Booker, who is the last black candidate left in the race.

00:20:29.000 Booker is like, yeah, man, now's my moment.

00:20:32.000 Sure, I've only raised $7 so far, and sure, nobody likes me, and sure, everybody is sort of weirded out when in the middle of a debate, I reach into my Mr. Potato Head back and pull out my hangry hoist.

00:20:44.000 But now's the moment! 0.98

00:20:45.000 Because if I can just get the Democratic base to rally around the fact that they are racists and they need to vote for a black person, then that will change everything!

00:20:53.000 So here is Cory Booker, on with Chris Hayes last night, talking about our debate stage might have no diversity.

00:20:59.000 No diversity! 0.98

00:21:00.000 Am I enjoying this? 0.99

00:21:01.000 You bet your ass I am, because I don't think that skin color diversity matters. 1.00

00:21:05.000 I think ideological diversity matters. 0.98

00:21:06.000 I think the quality of a candidate matters. 0.99

00:21:08.000 But I'm amused to watch the Democrats now hold their own voting base to their own idiotic, horrific, race-first standard. 0.99

00:21:15.000 Here is Cory Booker covertly calling the Democratic Party racist if they don't nominate him. 0.99

00:21:19.000 It's pretty great.

00:21:20.000 Kamala, before she was a senator, presidential candidate, she was my friend, she was my sister.

00:21:24.000 And so today I'm a little angry, I have to say, that we started with one of the most diverse fields in our history, giving people pride.

00:21:31.000 And it's a damn shame now that the only African American woman in this race who has been speaking to issues that need to be brought up is now no longer in it. 1.00

00:21:40.000 And we're spiraling towards a debate stage that potentially, we're still fighting to get on it, but could have six people with no diversity whatsoever. 0.96

00:21:48.000 You thought your pitiful powers were a match for the dark side of the force?

00:21:53.000 It's just, it's great.

00:21:54.000 Like really, I'm enjoying this.

00:21:55.000 I'm enjoying it. 1.00

00:21:56.000 Because you held Americans to this idiotic standard. 1.00

00:21:58.000 It didn't matter that Americans were perfectly willing to vote for a black candidate for president two times. 1.00

00:22:04.000 Two times.

00:22:04.000 And by the way, the first time he was utterly unqualified for the presidency.

00:22:07.000 He'd been in the Senate for five seconds.

00:22:09.000 He'd never done a damn thing except make a couple of speeches about unifying America.

00:22:12.000 He proceeded to completely divide America.

00:22:15.000 But he was voted for twice.

00:22:16.000 But now, I love it that Cory Booker is calling the Democratic Party base racist.

00:22:21.000 That's what he's doing.

00:22:21.000 By the way, he put out an email, did Cory Booker, in his desperation.

00:22:25.000 He put out an email.

00:22:26.000 I'm on all of the Democratic candidate email lists, and they're pretty fun.

00:22:29.000 This is Ben.

00:22:31.000 Yeah, Cory.

00:22:31.000 Says Ben.

00:22:32.000 I'll get right to the point.

00:22:34.000 Six candidates currently in the race are qualified for the DNC's December debate.

00:22:37.000 But as it stands now, after starting with the most diverse presidential fields in our nation's history, you might not see our party's diversity reflected on that stage.

00:22:44.000 Not a single one of the candidates who have qualified for the December debate is a person of color.

00:22:49.000 And Ben, that's a shame.

00:22:51.000 What he's really saying is, you know who's a person of color?

00:22:54.000 Cory McBooker!

00:22:55.000 Look over here!

00:22:56.000 This guy!

00:22:57.000 He's got two thumbs, and he's standing right here!

00:23:00.000 Cory Booker!

00:23:01.000 That guy says these thresholds have had the effect of denying candidates of color access to the debate stage while paving the way for billionaires who are inflating their support through massive ad buys.

00:23:12.000 Ah, so now we're gonna rip on the people like Tom Steyer, who've been spending hundreds of millions of their own dollars in a quixotic campaign for the presidency.

00:23:18.000 Now listen, that's his business. 1.00

00:23:19.000 If Tom Steyer wants to do that stupid thing, Tom Steyer can do that stupid thing. 1.00

00:23:23.000 But, I am enjoying the fact that Andrew Yang is out polling Cory Booker. 1.00

00:23:26.000 He ain't outspending Cory Booker, so far as I'm aware.

00:23:29.000 He's raised some money, but that's because Andrew Yang is not a charmless human being.

00:23:33.000 I love that he is now ripping the thresholds.

00:23:36.000 He's ripping the basic standards for getting on the stage because he can't surpass them.

00:23:40.000 He says, the race is still far from decided.

00:23:42.000 No one knows who we will choose as our party's nominee, but it would be unacceptable if our final choices did not reflect the rich diversity of our party.

00:23:50.000 Spoiler alert!

00:23:51.000 Your final choices will not reflect the rich diversity of your party.

00:23:54.000 It is a unilaterally, homogenously, leftist party.

00:23:59.000 And the fact that you've ended with a bunch of white candidates... By the way, I'm also enjoying the fact that apparently we are now getting a clarification of the hierarchical intersectional standard. 0.74

00:24:07.000 That's exciting.

00:24:08.000 Apparently, Pete Buttigieg's homosexuality has no impact on his standard here, right?

00:24:13.000 He's just a white guy.

00:24:14.000 And apparently, Bernie Sanders' Jewish atheism, that has no standard on the stage.

00:24:19.000 Elizabeth Warren, as a woman, doesn't add diversity to the stage. 1.00

00:24:22.000 I mean, Klobuchar, as a woman, doesn't add diversity to the stage. 1.00

00:24:24.000 Really, when the Democrats mean diversity, they mean diversity of skin color alone, which it's good to get that clarification.

00:24:29.000 We'll get to more of the Democratic Party turning in on itself, which is just wonderful.

00:24:34.000 Let them fight.

00:24:35.000 Get to that in one second.

00:24:36.000 First, let's talk about something almost as delicious as this Democratic turning in on itself.

00:25:51.000 That'd be a great gift. 0.99

00:25:53.000 OmahaSteaks.com, type Shapiro in the search bar.

00:25:55.000 Okay, so...

00:25:57.000 Cory Booker turning on the media, turning on his own party.

00:26:00.000 He says, put me on the debate stage and I'll demonstrate that I can and I have united moderate and progressive Democrats.

00:26:06.000 I'll demonstrate that I can and I have excited and engaged black voters, the most loyal constituency of our party.

00:26:12.000 Well, not only have you not excited and engaged black voters, you have 0% black support.

00:26:17.000 He says he'll demonstrate he's the only person in this race who can rebuild the coalition that elected President Obama we need in order to defeat Donald Trump.

00:26:23.000 Basically, Cory Booker is saying that only if we have a black nominee will black voters show up, which seems tacitly racist, does it not?

00:26:30.000 That the only way that you're going to get black voters to show up in droves is if you have a black candidate at the top of the ticket? 0.77

00:26:35.000 That's a little racist. 0.97

00:26:36.000 Okay, so that one is pretty funny.

00:26:38.000 That's one letter that's pretty funny.

00:26:39.000 The other letter that is pretty funny comes from Elizabeth Warren.

00:26:42.000 So, as I say, I'm finding it hi-larious, hi-larious, that the entire media are now saying the stage is old and white.

00:26:49.000 Did they just notice Elizabeth Warren's a white person? 1.00

00:26:52.000 I was reliably informed by members of the media that she, because of her high cheekbones and her Native American heritage, she was a representative of diversity on that stage.

00:27:01.000 She called herself a Native American in like the Harvard Law School yearbook for years.

00:27:06.000 Elizabeth Warren was a member of the Indigenous Tribes of America. 0.68

00:27:10.000 Now yesterday, the media were pointing out that the stage is old and light, and Liz Cheney tweeted out, don't forget about Pocahontas, and everyone went nuts.

00:27:17.000 How could Liz Cheney say Pocahontas?

00:27:19.000 That's so racist! 1.00

00:27:20.000 Can we dispense with this idiocy, please? 0.99

00:27:24.000 When Trump calls Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas, or when Liz Cheney calls Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas, they're not making fun of Pocahontas, they're making fun of Elizabeth Warren, who lied about her own heritage. 0.98

00:27:34.000 And it is ridiculous to me that the media focus in on people pointing out that she has stolen intersectional valor.

00:27:44.000 That the mockery of her is somehow considered the racism as opposed to the fact that she was masquerading as a Native American for decades of her own political and personal and professional life.

00:27:57.000 No, Liz Cheney was not making fun of Native Americans.

00:27:59.000 She was making fun of Elizabeth Warren for pretending to be a Native American for years. 1.00

00:28:03.000 We all do it on the right.

00:28:04.000 Why? 0.87

00:28:04.000 Because it's insane and ridiculous, and the fact that the left has decided to go along with it, until now apparently, is hilarious. 0.87

00:28:10.000 By the way, why didn't Kamala Harris ever attack her on this? 0.92

00:28:13.000 I was always bewildered by this.

00:28:14.000 It made no sense to me.

00:28:15.000 Kamala Harris had an open lane right there. 0.99

00:28:17.000 All she had to do was slap Elizabeth Warren for pretending to be Native American for years. 1.00

00:28:20.000 It is the most obvious line of attack ever.

00:28:23.000 Ever.

00:28:24.000 And if she had attacked Elizabeth Warren, maybe she goes up in the polls again.

00:28:27.000 But the going theory is that Kamala Harris is campaigning for VP. 0.84

00:28:32.000 Well, if Joe Biden's the nominee, that ain't happening.

00:28:33.000 Joe Biden cannot stand her.

00:28:35.000 So Elizabeth Warren put out her own letter on this.

00:28:38.000 It's so wonderful to watch the Democrats apply their own intersectional branding to the Kamala Harris exit.

00:28:43.000 So while she was in, nobody liked her.

00:28:45.000 Now that she's out, everybody is very angry at the Democratic base that she's out.

00:28:48.000 So Cory Booker is angry.

00:28:50.000 He's always angry.

00:28:52.000 Apparently Rosario Dawson packed his angry eyes. 0.80

00:28:54.000 He takes out those angry eyes.

00:28:57.000 Puts those right into his face.

00:28:58.000 I'm so angry.

00:29:00.000 At the Democratic base.

00:29:02.000 Very angry.

00:29:05.000 And then you get Elizabeth Warren, right?

00:29:09.000 Elizabeth Warren, she's doing the, and I'm very upset too.

00:29:12.000 I'm so upset.

00:29:13.000 Why is Elizabeth Warren upset? 0.91

00:29:14.000 I'm upset because a woman, a woman is out. 1.00

00:29:19.000 Well, yeah, so what?

00:29:19.000 You're a woman.

00:29:20.000 You're there.

00:29:21.000 I mean, last I checked, you identify as a woman.

00:29:22.000 I mean, I've even checked on your bio and you say that your preferred pronouns are she and hers.

00:29:27.000 So, I mean, it seems like you're a woman.

00:29:29.000 And Amy Klobuchar, last I checked, is a woman, whether she's throwing binders or not, whether she's wood chipping her staff or not. 1.00

00:29:37.000 There are women on the stage, but Elizabeth Warren puts out a letter today. 0.97

00:29:39.000 Okay, here's the letter from Elizabeth Warren.

00:29:41.000 She already got Cory Booker going, I'm the only black person left on the stage. 0.52

00:29:45.000 And if we love, if we love racial diversity, you must nominate me.

00:29:49.000 And if you don't, I'm going to whip out these peepers.

00:29:53.000 The Judge Doom peepers from Roger Rabbit.

00:29:56.000 Okay, and then you've got Elizabeth Warren, and here's her letter.

00:30:05.000 I love this stuff so much.

00:30:07.000 I do.

00:30:07.000 Sometimes politics is fun.

00:30:08.000 Today is one of those days.

00:30:10.000 So here is the letter from fading Elizabeth Warren, who's gonna have to go back to, if you're Elizabeth Warren and you fail in this race, basically you have to move to a Native American reservation and then you have to sell sweaters, right? 0.96

00:30:21.000 I mean, that's pretty much what you do.

00:30:22.000 You just did a bunch of the same sweater, different colors, like a rainbow variety of sweaters, maybe some Planned Parenthood scarves.

00:30:28.000 Exciting stuff.

00:30:29.000 So Elizabeth Warren, she put out a letter.

00:30:31.000 It says this, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand To women senators. 0.77

00:30:36.000 Women senators, who together won more than 11.5 million votes in their last elections, have been forced out of this race. 0.99

00:30:43.000 Forced! 0.58

00:30:44.000 Don't you see?

00:30:45.000 Forced! 0.58

00:30:46.000 While billionaires Tom Steyer and Michael Bloomberg have been allowed to buy their way in.

00:30:49.000 Okay, can I just explain something?

00:30:51.000 No one forced Kamala Harris out of this race. 0.97

00:30:53.000 She dropped out.

00:30:54.000 There was nothing legally that forced her to drop out.

00:30:57.000 She could have stuck around and failed.

00:30:59.000 Kirsten Gillibrand, too.

00:31:00.000 And I love that Elizabeth Warren's like, these two women together won more than 11.5 million votes in their last elections. 1.00

00:31:07.000 OK, Michael Bloomberg was the mayor of New York.

00:31:11.000 OK, how many votes were won in New York?

00:31:15.000 I would imagine millions of votes for Mayor Bloomberg in New York.

00:31:20.000 In his mayoralty, he was winning overwhelming percentages as mayor of New York.

00:31:25.000 I don't see her aggregating his voting statistics as mayor of New York.

00:31:30.000 In 2009, he won an extremely heavy victory.

00:31:35.000 But apparently he's very bad.

00:31:36.000 He's very bad.

00:31:37.000 And apparently Kirsten Gillibrand is very good.

00:31:39.000 That's really exciting stuff.

00:31:41.000 He was, by the way, in 2005, when he was reelected mayor, he was reelected by a margin of 20%, which is a pretty good stat for Mayor Bloomberg.

00:31:50.000 In any case, she says that it's the billionaires forcing people out. 0.87

00:31:53.000 So it's that the Democrats are not just racist, they are also sexist, don't you see?

00:31:57.000 Elizabeth Warren, who for a brief period in time was leading the race, She was riding the planes of Oklahoma on her trusty Mustang, leading this race, while following the buffalo herd. 0.73

00:32:10.000 Elizabeth Warren is now claiming that if she's not the nominee, it's because people are sexist! 0.94

00:32:15.000 It's wonderful that Kamala Harris can play this kaleidoscopic role.

00:32:19.000 For so many Democrats.

00:32:20.000 For Cory Booker, if Kamala Harris drops out, it's because the Democratic populace is racist, unless they elect him.

00:32:26.000 For Elizabeth Warren, it's because the Democratic populace is sexist, if they don't elect her. 1.00

00:32:30.000 And also, classist, because they're favoring Tom Steyer and Michael Bloomberg.

00:32:35.000 She says, our party and our democracy deserve better.

00:32:38.000 By the way, the only reason that Elizabeth Warren is putting out this letter, of course, and mentioning Kirsten Gillibrand is because of the woman card.

00:32:43.000 It'd be one thing if she just said that Kamala Harris was forced out by bigger money, but dropping Kirsten Gillibrand's name, Kirsten Gillibrand was one of the first people to drop out because Kirsten Gillibrand had zero voters, including immediate family. 1.00

00:32:55.000 Everyone in her immediate family was turning to her and going, Kirsten, what are you doing?

00:32:59.000 What are you doing?

00:33:00.000 So playing the woman card for Elizabeth Warren.

00:33:03.000 So let them all do this.

00:33:04.000 Really, I'm enjoying it.

00:35:14.000 We are the largest, fastest-growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:35:17.000 We are the largest, fastest-growing conservative podcast.

00:35:31.000 Yesterday, she was asked by a small child if she will end global warming.

00:35:34.000 Here was her answer.

00:35:36.000 My question is, when you become president, are you going to stop global warming?

00:35:42.000 Brave child.

00:35:50.000 Brave children, they're our future.

00:35:53.000 Yes.

00:35:57.000 I like that she's wearing the blue sweater today.

00:35:59.000 That one's exciting.

00:36:00.000 As I note, she only wears one outfit.

00:36:01.000 Ton of different sweaters.

00:36:03.000 Yes, she's going to do so.

00:36:03.000 Pretty exciting stuff.

00:36:05.000 How?

00:36:05.000 By attacking the sun!

00:36:08.000 Alternatively, by launching our B-2 bomber.

00:36:12.000 We have to launch some bombers.

00:36:14.000 We have to launch them at all the coal mines in India and in China.

00:36:18.000 I would just like to note that there's an article from the Huffington Post today about global carbon emissions hitting a record high in 2019.

00:36:22.000 You know which is one country that actually lowered its emissions?

00:36:26.000 Buried deep down in this article from the Huffington Post?

00:36:29.000 Well, that would be the United States.

00:36:30.000 The United States withdrew from the Paris Agreement.

00:36:32.000 Also, U.S.

00:36:33.000 emissions are predicted to fall by 1.7% over 2018 levels.

00:36:37.000 Coal production will likely decline by about 10%.

00:36:40.000 So, for all the talk about how the United States is the real problem here, we are actually in a period of declining emissions, while emissions are rising pretty much everywhere else.

00:36:48.000 China and India being the leaders in this sphere.

00:36:51.000 I'm looking forward to Elizabeth Warren launching a full-scale war. 1.00

00:36:54.000 I'm always amused by this idea that if we do not stop global warming today, we're all gonna die.

00:36:59.000 If that were really true, we would have to do something to force China and India to stop the emissions, would we not? 0.92

00:37:05.000 I mean, to be fair, isn't that what they are the leading emitters by a long shot and their emissions are going up and are going to continue to go up until at least 2030.

00:37:14.000 But don't worry, Elizabeth Warren will solve global warming just like Barack Obama. 1.00

00:37:18.000 2008 Iowa caucus victory night.

00:37:21.000 This will be the moment when the rise of the seas was slow.

00:37:24.000 Yeah, that didn't happen.

00:37:26.000 Elizabeth Warren also excitingly says she's going to wear her pink Planned Parenthood scarf when she is sworn in as president.

00:37:33.000 I spoke, and I wore my pink Planned Parenthood scarf.

00:37:42.000 Now that's two, so here's my plan for number three.

00:37:46.000 I'm gonna be wearing that scarf when I'm sworn in as President of the United States.

00:37:54.000 Yeah, I can't imagine why these Democrats are... I mean, Hillary Clinton yesterday suggested she might jump back in. 0.99

00:37:59.000 I cannot imagine why.

00:38:01.000 By the way, Pete Buttigieg, who's supposed to be the moderate in this race, when Democrats aren't calling their own voters racist, they're calling everybody a racist. 0.99

00:38:06.000 So here's Pete Buttigieg yesterday campaigning in South Carolina and suggesting that every single person who voted for President Trump in 2016 or is considering voting for Trump in 2020 is ignoring racism, which is idiotic. 0.97

00:38:18.000 You don't have to actually love everything President Trump says to vote for him. 0.96

00:38:22.000 You can disagree with many of the things that he says.

00:38:24.000 You can disagree with his mannerisms.

00:38:25.000 You can think that he is unstable.

00:38:26.000 You can do lots of things and still vote for him when faced with the alternative of a very, very bitter Democratic Party intent on rewriting the American bargain.

00:38:34.000 But here's Pete Buttigieg.

00:38:35.000 I mean, this is a hell of a strategy for winning back those moderate swing voters.

00:38:38.000 Call them racist, Pete.

00:38:39.000 Anyone who supported this president is, at best, looking the other way on racism.

00:38:45.000 Oh, at best looking the other way. 0.91

00:38:46.000 At worst, they're just open racists.

00:38:47.000 All 63 million people who voted for President Trump.

00:38:50.000 By the way, I'd just like to point out that obviously Pete Buttigieg is a homophobe because you know way back when, he actually was smiling and standing in front of a Salvation Army red kettle during a charity drive.

00:39:02.000 So, now who's not woke, Pete Buttigieg?

00:39:05.000 I mean, first you say things like, not all educational disparities are the result of systemic discrimination, which makes you a lying MF-er according to Michael Harriot at The Root.

00:39:13.000 And then, you stood in front of a Salvation Army kettle. 0.98

00:39:17.000 Are you a self-hating gay person, Pete Buttigieg? 0.99

00:39:22.000 I'm not kidding. 0.99

00:39:22.000 They're seriously LGBTQ activists who are angry at Buttigieg over that. 0.99

00:39:26.000 That's the party he chose to belong to, man.

00:39:28.000 You bought the ticket, you take the ride.

00:39:29.000 Okay, meanwhile, impeachment in 2019 is moving forward.

00:39:34.000 You may have noticed that I'm not talking about it too much on the show right now.

00:39:37.000 Why?

00:39:37.000 Because it's boring.

00:39:38.000 We all know where this is going.

00:39:39.000 Okay, the Democrats are going to impeach Trump in the House, and then this is going nowhere in the Senate.

00:39:43.000 And they're going to do so on pretty scanty evidence of actual impeachable crimes.

00:39:46.000 How do we know that the evidence is scanty?

00:39:47.000 Well, they released a 300-page report Yesterday that does not actually back up its key assertions is released by Adam B Schiff He wrote it in between like during the during the commercial breaks on CNN when he wasn't camped out in the pup tent outside the green room he wrote this 300 page report and He talked about how this is that the president has committed crimes crimes He says The decision to move forward with an impeachment inquiry is not one we took lightly

00:40:17.000 Under the best of circumstances, impeachment is a wrenching process for the nation.

00:40:21.000 I resisted calls to undertake an impeachment investigation for many months.

00:40:24.000 On that basis, notwithstanding the existence of presidential conduct, I believe to be deeply unethical and damaging to our country.

00:40:30.000 The alarming events and actions detailed in this report, however, left us with no choice but to proceed.

00:40:37.000 And then he talks about the Founding Fathers.

00:40:39.000 Yes, I'm sure that the Founding Fathers, the Founding Fa- By the way, the Founding Fathers would have looked at the activity of Trump here and they would have thought, Impeachable?

00:40:48.000 The reason being, impeachment has only been used against a president three times in our nation's history.

00:40:55.000 It never has actually been used to remove a president.

00:40:59.000 What is the exact angle on the impeachment?

00:41:03.000 So, they say, here's the executive summary of the charges.

00:41:07.000 There are only two charges.

00:41:09.000 Okay, what exactly are the charges?

00:41:10.000 Okay, that is too vague to be an impeachable crime.

00:41:12.000 You know what presidents do all the time?

00:41:13.000 They do things beneficial to their re-election campaign.

00:41:15.000 on a public announcement of investigations beneficial to his re-election campaign.

00:41:18.000 Okay, that is too vague to be an impeachable crime.

00:41:22.000 You know what presidents do all the time?

00:41:24.000 They do things beneficial to their re-election campaign.

00:41:26.000 When Barack Obama said, I repeat myself because I've said this often, but it remains true. 1.00

00:41:31.000 When Barack Obama said to Dmitry Medvedev, if you tell Vladimir Putin to back off, I will provide flexibility to the Russians in my next term.

00:41:39.000 On a hot mic.

00:41:40.000 That was him conditioning something to the Russians on behalf of a re-election campaign.

00:41:46.000 That's what that was.

00:41:47.000 That was not illegal.

00:41:49.000 It was bad.

00:41:50.000 It was ugly.

00:41:51.000 It was not impeachable.

00:41:52.000 In fact, as it turns out, presidents frequently have an eye on their re-elect efforts when they do foreign policy.

00:41:57.000 So the fact that it was beneficial does not answer the question.

00:42:00.000 The chief question in this entire inquiry, remember where this started, it started with the accusation that Donald Trump specifically and maliciously withheld Aid to Ukraine.

00:42:10.000 Military aid to Ukraine in a time of war in order to force the Ukrainians to go after a 2020 political opponent, Joe Biden.

00:42:16.000 It wasn't about 2016.

00:42:17.000 It wasn't about CrowdStrike.

00:42:19.000 It wasn't about Ukrainian corruption.

00:42:20.000 It wasn't about Ukrainian interference.

00:42:22.000 It wasn't about any of that stuff that was about Joe Biden.

00:42:24.000 But now the Democrats have morphed the charges, and once you morph the charges, they're no longer impeachable.

00:42:29.000 See, the Democrats made a strategic error here.

00:42:30.000 They should have pushed for some sort of censure.

00:42:33.000 If they had pushed for censure, they could have gotten Republicans on the record saying Trump did nothing wrong.

00:42:37.000 They could have said, look at all this bad stuff.

00:42:39.000 Yeah, it's not impeachable, but it's bad stuff.

00:42:41.000 Let's censure the president. 0.57

00:42:43.000 Let's vote for censure.

00:42:44.000 And then you'd get Republicans, presumably, who'd feel torn, right?

00:42:46.000 You get the Mitt Romneys of the Senate going, well, maybe I should vote for censure.

00:42:50.000 You get some of the more moderate members of the House going, eh, well, you vote for censure.

00:42:53.000 He's not ousted, no real impact there.

00:42:55.000 But the Democrats went for broke.

00:42:56.000 It's a lot easier for Republicans to say not impeachable than not censurable.

00:43:00.000 But Democrats decided to go whole hog.

00:43:02.000 They were playing chicken, and it turns out that you can only play chicken if there's somebody else playing with you.

00:43:07.000 Okay, but in order to play chicken, you actually have to have the goods.

00:43:10.000 They didn't have the goods.

00:43:11.000 They put the brick on the accelerator, and now, instead of playing chicken with somebody, they're just flying off that cliff like Thelma and Louise.

00:43:17.000 And the polls show this.

00:43:18.000 Americans are not supremely excited about this impeachment effort.

00:43:22.000 So the claim of Adam Schiff is that the president conditioned a White House meeting and military aid to Ukraine on a public announcement of investigations beneficial to his re-election campaign.

00:43:29.000 Again, it would have to be that his intent, which has not been established by any testimony, was purely about getting Joe Biden for 2020.

00:43:37.000 That's what would have to be shown.

00:43:38.000 They did not achieve that burden of proof.

00:43:40.000 They've not even come close to achieving that burden of proof.

00:43:42.000 And then Schiff says that the president obstructed the House of Representatives impeachment inquiry.

00:43:48.000 He instructed witnesses and agencies to ignore subpoenas for documents and testimony.

00:43:52.000 That's not obstruction.

00:43:53.000 That is not legal obstruction.

00:43:54.000 Legal obstruction is when you get a court order that orders you to turn over the documents and then you say no.

00:44:00.000 The way that a subpoena normally works, it even works this way with interrogatories, in depositions, is that you get a request for stuff and then you are allowed to reply and say no.

00:44:10.000 And then a court adjudicates whether you are allowed to say no or not.

00:44:13.000 Schiff didn't even go through this process, not with Giuliani, not with Pompeo, not with Mick Mulvaney, not with anybody, not with Pence, with no one.

00:44:20.000 There is no one who has defied a legal subpoena from the House.

00:44:23.000 No one.

00:44:24.000 It is not defying a subpoena to say no and then file a court case, which is what John Bolton did, for example.

00:44:30.000 So that's just a lie.

00:44:31.000 They don't have the goods.

00:44:32.000 Bottom line is they don't have the goods.

00:44:34.000 And as it turns out, every piece of evidence that's coming out supports my case as to what Trump was doing here, not the Democrats' case.

00:44:40.000 Not Trump's case either, right?

00:44:41.000 Trump says this was purely about corruption.

00:44:43.000 All I cared about was corruption.

00:44:44.000 There was no quid pro quo.

00:44:45.000 Like, I don't think that the evidence supports that, but it does not support the actual impeachment case of the Democrats either.

00:44:50.000 The story I've been telling since pretty much the very beginning when it became clear that there was in fact some sort of quid pro quo, right?

00:44:56.000 Trump was withholding military aid for a reason and then gave up the withholding as soon as it became public.

00:45:01.000 What that was really about was Trump being obsessive about the 2016 election, buying into bad information provided to him by Rudy Giuliani.

00:45:07.000 Bad decision-making?

00:45:08.000 Sure.

00:45:08.000 Foolish?

00:45:09.000 Absolutely. 1.00

00:45:10.000 Impeachable?

00:45:11.000 Not even close.

00:45:12.000 Really, not impeachable.

00:45:14.000 That stuff you take into consideration during an election, it's not stuff that you take into consideration in an impeachable hearing.

00:45:20.000 And by the way, the Democrats are basically saying this stuff out loud now, right?

00:45:24.000 Adam Schiff, It was asked specifically, why don't you just wait on some of the witnesses who might know Trump's intent?

00:45:30.000 The Democrats, so far, have brought forth one, grand total of one witness who had a conversation with Trump.

00:45:36.000 One.

00:45:36.000 Gordon Sondland.

00:45:37.000 That's it.

00:45:38.000 And Gordon Sondland did not testify that Trump's intent was to get Joe Biden in advance of the 2020 election.

00:45:45.000 He did not testify to that.

00:45:46.000 In fact, not one Democrat witness could actually substantiate these quote-unquote bribery allegations Democrats are making.

00:45:52.000 Not one.

00:45:54.000 So Schiff was asked, why don't you just wait?

00:45:56.000 Why don't you just wait for the results of the subpoena?

00:45:57.000 Why don't you wait for Giuliani to testify, and Bolton to testify, and Mulvaney to testify, and Pence to testify?

00:46:02.000 These are all people who had conversations with Trump.

00:46:04.000 Why don't you just wait?

00:46:05.000 And Schiff was like, we can't wait for the facts!

00:46:07.000 When someone says you can't wait for the facts, that's because they know the facts ain't going to come in on their side.

00:46:11.000 Here's Adam Schiff just basically blowing a hole in his own case.

00:46:15.000 If we do uncover additional evidence and we do learn more every day, we will feel free to file supplemental reports to the Judiciary Committee.

00:46:25.000 But there is, I think, grave risk to the country with waiting until we have every last fact when we already know enough about the president's misconduct to make a responsible judgment.

00:46:36.000 Okay, again, no, you don't.

00:46:38.000 Because it was an intense crime.

00:46:40.000 Bribery is an intense crime.

00:46:43.000 Intense is an element of the crime.

00:46:44.000 This is not a case where the Democrats have the evidence.

00:46:47.000 And you can see this in, like, the very first words of Schiff's 300-page report.

00:46:52.000 And when he makes the case that the president requested a political favor, he again does not actually have the evidence to back this up.

00:47:00.000 And he certainly doesn't have the evidence for obstruction, right?

00:47:03.000 That one just does not exist.

00:47:04.000 That's not there at all.

00:47:06.000 In fact, there's a Washington Post piece today about the origins of the Ukraine pressure campaign by Rosalyn Helderman.

00:47:12.000 It completely undercuts the Democrat case.

00:47:14.000 Remember, the Democrat case, to reiterate, again, was about Donald Trump trying to win the 2020 election by using Ukraine's gears of justice to grind Joe Biden. 0.75

00:47:24.000 That was the claim.

00:47:27.000 But here's an article from the Washington Post titled, How the Ukraine Pressure Campaign Began as an Effort to Undercut the Mueller Investigation.

00:47:35.000 Does that have anything to do with 2020?

00:47:37.000 The Mueller investigation was, in fact, an ongoing thing in the United States.

00:47:41.000 It was.

00:47:42.000 And as it turns out, if Trump was being fed bad information by Rudy Giuliani about Ukrainian interference in the election, and then he acted on the basis of that bad information, again, that may be bad judgment.

00:47:50.000 That ain't impeachable.

00:47:52.000 Presidents act on the basis of bad information all the time.

00:47:54.000 In fact, Barack Obama did with Iran on a routine basis.

00:47:59.000 This piece from the Washington Post says, Special Counsel Robert Mueller had secured the cooperation of Trump's one-time fixer, Michael Cohen, and appeared to be prepping to indict a longtime advisor, Roger Stone.

00:48:09.000 Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was in jail.

00:48:11.000 It was in this uncertain moment that Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said he had the idea to focus on Ukraine.

00:48:16.000 That November, he received a tip from former colleagues that it was the Ukrainians who had conspired to help Democrats in 2016, Giuliani said in recent interviews.

00:48:24.000 Giuliani's efforts to undermine the special counsel probe eventually snowballed into the current impeachment crisis gripping the Capitol, highlighting how the pressure Trump and his allies put on Ukraine originated as an effort to sow doubts about the Russia investigation.

00:48:35.000 Alternative reading.

00:48:36.000 The entire effort began as an attempt to gather more information about the 2016 election campaign.

00:48:41.000 If we expended tens of millions of dollars to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 campaign, then Trump, even on the basis of bad information, Using American resources to pressure Ukraine to cooperate on an investigation into Ukrainian interference into 2016? 0.97

00:48:56.000 It may be stupid, it is not, in fact, impeachable. 0.98

00:49:00.000 The Washington Post is admitting as much. 1.00

00:49:02.000 It's admitting as much.

00:49:04.000 So, this whole thing is a sham.

00:49:07.000 It's gonna move forward.

00:49:08.000 It's why I'm not paying too much attention to it.

00:49:09.000 We all know where this is going.

00:49:11.000 If Democrats are smart, they'll get it over with quick because once this hits the Senate, it's gonna get a lot uglier for them.

00:49:15.000 Joe Biden and Hunter Biden will be called in.

00:49:17.000 There will be serious questions asked about Alexander Chalupa, the DNC operative who's coordinating with the Ukrainian embassy.

00:49:23.000 Like, there will be witnesses called that Democrats don't want called.

00:49:26.000 It could get very ugly very quickly.

00:49:28.000 Okay, time for some things I like and then some things that I hate.

00:49:31.000 So, You ready?

00:49:33.000 that I like today.

00:49:33.000 So Peloton put out this bike ad.

00:49:36.000 There is nothing wrong with this bicycle ad.

00:49:38.000 It trends in on Twitter.

00:49:39.000 People apparently were very angry at this ad.

00:49:41.000 I'm going to play the ad and then explain why people were angry.

00:49:43.000 And then I'm going to explain why there's nothing wrong with the ad because you have to, honestly, you have to have been hit on the head as a child repeatedly in order to spot the problem with this ad.

00:49:53.000 Ready?

00:49:54.000 Now.

00:49:55.000 A Peloton bike?

00:49:58.000 Give it up for our first time ride!

00:50:00.000 Alright, first ride.

00:50:01.000 I'm a little nervous, but excited.

00:50:03.000 Let's do this.

00:50:04.000 Five days in a row.

00:50:05.000 You surprised?

00:50:06.000 I am.

00:50:08.000 6am.

00:50:09.000 Yay.

00:50:09.000 Rising with the sun!

00:50:11.000 That was totally worth it.

00:50:12.000 Let's celebrate the Boston 50 ride!

00:50:14.000 She just said my name! 0.75

00:50:15.000 A year ago, I didn't realize how much this would change me.

00:50:20.000 Thank you.

00:50:21.000 This holiday, give the gift of Peloton.

00:50:23.000 Okay, so do you see anything wrong with that ad? 1.00

00:50:25.000 If you can't spot what's wrong with that ad, it's because you're a member of the patriarchy, you bastard. 0.99

00:50:29.000 Okay, here's what's wrong with the ad, according to the left. 1.00

00:50:32.000 Seriously, what's wrong with the ad is that the ad is sexist.

00:50:36.000 Don't you see?

00:50:37.000 The husband never should have given his wife a Peloton because he was saying she was fat. 0.99

00:50:40.000 She was fat. 1.00

00:50:41.000 That's what he was doing. 0.99

00:50:43.000 He wanted her to be sexier. 0.91

00:50:44.000 And so he gave her a Peloton bite.

00:50:46.000 Right?

00:50:46.000 Really, this is what people are saying online.

00:50:48.000 I'm not kidding.

00:50:50.000 There's an article in the Washington Post called, quote, this Peloton ad is a dystopian fitness inspo hellscape.

00:50:56.000 Hellscape! 0.91

00:50:58.000 Hey, the entire ad is just a woman climbing on a bike and then taking this video so she can say thanks to her husband after a year because a Peloton's an expensive gift. 0.96

00:51:04.000 And talking about how it's changed her life.

00:51:06.000 You know exercise can actually make your life better?

00:51:08.000 I know.

00:51:09.000 Breaking news!

00:51:09.000 Exercise can make you feel better even if you're already in good shape.

00:51:13.000 And it releases endorphins.

00:51:14.000 It makes your life healthier.

00:51:16.000 All of these things.

00:51:16.000 But, apparently the only reason he wanted to give his very skinny, very attractive and fit wife, already, a Peloton, is cause she was FAT!

00:51:24.000 Cause she was a fatso! 1.00

00:51:25.000 Because he's a sexist and he wants to have sex with a beautiful wife! 1.00

00:51:28.000 As opposed to having sex with a slightly less beautiful wife! 1.00

00:51:31.000 She probably lost like 6 ounces over the course of that ad. 1.00

00:51:34.000 And those 6 ounces, that's what he was after.

00:51:36.000 He wanted those 6 ounces GONE!

00:51:39.000 This is, I'm not kidding, this is what people are saying.

00:51:41.000 This ad went nuts.

00:51:42.000 People went crazy.

00:51:44.000 Brittany Shamus writing for the Washington Post.

00:51:46.000 The woman wears an eerie expression as she climbs onto her new Peloton for the first time. 0.96

00:51:49.000 She's sort of smiling, sort of grimacing.

00:51:51.000 She looks like she might burst into tears.

00:51:53.000 I'm a little bit nervous, but excited, she says, not at all convincingly at the start of the pricey stationary bicycle company's new commercial.

00:51:59.000 It was a look that spawned a thousand Twitter jokes.

00:52:01.000 To some, the young mother, who spends the majority of her 30-second ad toiling away on the bike after her husband gives it to her for Christmas, looked like a hostage.

00:52:07.000 Okay, first of all, I have a wife who does not particularly love exercising, and every time she starts to exercise, she gives me that same look, and then she's happy afterward.

00:52:14.000 So I totally sympathize with this ad.

00:52:17.000 Seriously, it's hard to get started exercising.

00:52:21.000 It is.

00:52:22.000 But it's not because the woman is being pressured into riding a Peloton bike. 1.00

00:52:27.000 She's not being tortured by her husband. 0.99

00:52:29.000 This is ridiculous! 0.95

00:52:31.000 Hey, comedian Eva Victor exclaimed in a widely shared parody video, My husband got me a Peloton for Christmas. 0.94

00:52:37.000 Nothing weird about that.

00:52:37.000 Thank you.

00:52:38.000 You get me.

00:52:39.000 Okay, again, I have considered getting my wife a Peloton.

00:52:41.000 You know why?

00:52:41.000 Because she said that maybe she'd be interested in a Peloton.

00:52:44.000 Because it doesn't just- I mean, like, I don't mean to do an ad for Peloton here, but it's kind of cool.

00:52:48.000 Right?

00:52:48.000 You got the stationary bike, and then you got the actual, like, live sessions going on.

00:52:52.000 You get to be part- basically part of a fitness class live every day.

00:52:55.000 It's a pretty neat thing.

00:52:55.000 I've considered getting a Peloton, and my wife has talked to me about wanting one.

00:52:59.000 So is this so terrible? 1.00

00:53:01.000 The company's stock tumbled Tuesday by 9% on backlash from this dumb, stupid controversy. 1.00

00:53:08.000 The ad made its debut last month on YouTube. 1.00

00:53:11.000 Where the comments are turned off, the ad carried an innocuous title, The Gift That Gives Back.

00:53:14.000 But to many watching, the star of the commercial didn't seem to want it at all.

00:53:17.000 After the Peloton is foisted upon her! 0.99

00:53:20.000 Because I, do you remember the part of the ad where the husband comes in, and he actually chains her to the bike? 0.99

00:53:24.000 And he says, you are going to bike, woman, you are going to bike until that ass looks better. 1.00

00:53:28.000 You're gonna bike until that ass comes right off. 1.00

00:53:30.000 You remember that part of the ad? 0.99

00:53:31.000 I don't, because it's not in the ad, because that's crazy. 0.99

00:53:33.000 But apparently, according to the media, and according to idiots on Twitter, that is an integral part of the ad. 0.66

00:53:39.000 Apparently, at the end, in a twist some found to be a little too Black Mirror, she plays the montage of grueling workouts for her husband the next Christmas, turning to him to watch his reaction. 0.97

00:53:48.000 The Peloton looms in the background.

00:53:50.000 It was spousal abuse, viewers cried.

00:53:52.000 It was sexism, a descent into wellness hell, society's nightmare before Christmas.

00:53:59.000 Vice said she would rather be anywhere in the world than here in her glacial home with the husband she loathes putting on this sick pantomime of wellness and marital bliss. 1.00

00:54:06.000 She'd even rather be back on the dreaded Peloton. 1.00

00:54:09.000 Okay, the whole thing is so stupid. 1.00

00:54:10.000 It's so stupid. 1.00

00:54:11.000 There is nothing wrong with the ad. 1.00

00:54:12.000 There's just something wrong with you.

00:54:13.000 There's just something wrong with you.

00:54:15.000 If you watched the ad when you got out of that is what a horrible husband who got his wife a $2,000 bicycle so that she can exercise when she sees fit.

00:54:23.000 And then she thanked him for it.

00:54:25.000 What a horrible life she leads. 1.00

00:54:26.000 If that's what you got out of that, it's because you're an idiot. 1.00

00:54:30.000 An idiot! 1.00

00:54:30.000 And you're woke. 1.00

00:54:32.000 Social justice warrior garbage is nonsense. 0.99

00:54:36.000 And by the way, if my wife suggested that she wanted to be healthier and so I got her a Peloton bike, There's nothing wrong with that. 0.98

00:54:43.000 And by the way, if my wife were dramatically overweight, which she is not, and I said to her, you know, honey, it would be more healthy if you lost some weight.

00:54:49.000 That's not me being a bad husband.

00:54:50.000 If she said the same thing to me, that's not her being a bad wife. 1.00

00:54:53.000 Being in a marriage means communication about issues.

00:54:55.000 Yes, including your health and wellness.

00:54:57.000 There's nothing wrong with any of this.

00:54:59.000 But the fact that it is now considered sexist to get your wife a pretty nice bike for Christmas.

00:55:04.000 How dare he?

00:55:05.000 He's the real villain of the piece.

00:55:06.000 He's like, This Hitlerian figure looming, because just like Hitler, he gave somebody a bike. 0.89

00:55:12.000 You know who liked bicycles?

00:55:12.000 Hitler.

00:55:14.000 Let me tell you something about sexism. 1.00

00:55:15.000 Let me tell you something about sexism. 1.00

00:55:18.000 Sexism looms in giving women bicycles. 1.00

00:55:21.000 I know, this is Harvey Weinstein's chief tactic.

00:55:24.000 When he was out there victimizing women, the first thing he did, he sent them a Peloton. 0.99

00:55:27.000 He sent them a Peloton, and then he tried to rape them. 0.99

00:55:29.000 That was the prelude right there to rape culture. 1.00

00:55:31.000 That was hashtag me too, what we watched right there. 1.00

00:55:34.000 You're all nuts. 1.00

00:55:35.000 You're all crazy. 1.00

00:55:37.000 There's nothing wrong with the ad. 1.00

00:55:38.000 If you think there is, it's because you're dumb. 0.99

00:55:39.000 Okay, we've run out of time. 0.99

00:55:41.000 So that was sort of a thing I like and a thing I hate.

00:55:43.000 So, we'll be back here a little bit later today with two additional hours of content.

00:55:46.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow.

00:55:48.000 So be there or be square.
