00:00:00.000 A new, democratic, fresh face comes out as a blatant anti-Semite, AOC lies about her own Green New Deal, and Virginia settles into place.
00:00:07.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:08.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:09.000 As I've been saying for the past several weeks, one of the beautiful things about being a Democrat is the worse you do, the more the headlines read, Republicans Pounce.
00:00:22.000 And boy, there's been a lot of pouncing lately because it turns out that the Democratic fresh faces, so fresh, so face, they all weirdly seem to be coming out mistakenly.
00:00:32.000 As communists and anti-Semites.
00:00:33.000 Like, who would have thought such a thing?
00:00:35.000 Except for everyone with half a brain who's been following this stuff.
00:00:37.000 But we'll get to that in just a second.
00:00:39.000 First, let's talk about that watch on your wrist.
00:00:41.000 It's garbage, isn't it?
00:00:42.000 I mean, let's be real about this.
00:00:43.000 Whatever you're wearing on your wrist, it isn't as nice as this.
00:00:45.000 I mean, check this thing out.
00:00:46.000 This is a really nice watch.
00:00:47.000 Why?
00:00:48.000 Because it's from MVMT.
00:00:49.000 MVMT makes minimalist watches that tell you the time and look really classy doing it.
00:00:53.000 It really is quite simple.
00:00:54.000 MVMT watches, sunglasses, other accessories, they've been perfect gifts for families across the country.
00:00:59.000 Everyone in my family has a MVMT watch.
00:01:00.000 Pretty much everyone.
00:01:02.000 In-laws, siblings, parents.
00:01:04.000 I'm going to get one for my children as soon as they're old enough, because MVMT watches are just fantastic.
00:01:09.000 And you know that I'm about supporting ground-up entrepreneurs who work hard for what they want, which is why I love MVMT so much.
00:01:14.000 Their true success story makes wearing their products much more meaningful.
00:01:17.000 They came up and made a name for themselves in one of the most established markets in the world.
00:01:20.000 They've reached exponential growth.
00:01:22.000 MVMT watches are all about looking good, Well, keeping it simple, and they start at just $95.
00:01:26.000 You're looking at up to $400 for the same quality from a traditional brand.
00:01:30.000 Clean design, minimal, really quality products.
00:01:32.000 MVMT has sold almost 2 million watches in over 160 countries.
00:01:35.000 There's a reason why.
00:01:36.000 Right now, get 15% off today with free shipping and free returns by going to MVMT.com.
00:01:41.000 Now, what's great about this is it's great for Valentine's Day.
00:01:44.000 MVMT.com.
00:01:45.000 They've got new styles on their site all the time.
00:01:48.000 Check out their latest at MVMT.com.
00:01:50.000 Again, MVMT.com.
00:01:52.000 Join the movement.

00:01:56.000 All right.
00:01:57.000 So there's this new cadre of Democrats.
00:02:00.000 The fresh faces.
00:02:01.000 So fresh.
00:02:02.000 So face.
00:02:03.000 And usually we talk in this context about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
00:02:07.000 Don't worry, we'll get to her in just a second.
00:02:09.000 But she is not the fresh face who was making waves over the weekend.
00:02:12.000 Instead, the fresh face making waves over the weekend was blatant anti-Semite Ilhan Omar from Minnesota, who has indeed been an anti-Semite for years upon years upon years.
00:02:21.000 And it's not like a big secret.
00:02:22.000 You know what's hilarious is that the same media that will suggest the entire Republican Party is anti-semitic because Donald Trump was once close with some people who themselves were close with the alt-right, the same media that will suggest that the entire Republican Party by a wide swath is anti-semitic because of Steve King, who by the way is actually pro-Israel, That same media will suggest that the Democratic Party has no problem with anti-Semitism at all.
00:02:48.000 They're just asking the hard questions.
00:02:50.000 They're just asking the hard questions.
00:02:52.000 This is something that Dave Weigel of the Washington Post tweeted out about Ilhan Omar.
00:02:55.000 So let's start from the beginning.
00:02:56.000 Ilhan Omar's record.
00:02:58.000 Okay, so Ilhan Omar back in 2012 tweeted that Israel was quote-unquote hypnotizing the world.
00:03:04.000 And then she spent years defending that tweet, suggesting there was nothing wrong with the tweet.
00:03:09.000 And then, in 2013, she gave an interview to a person who called Israel the Jewish ISIS and compared Hamas to Holocaust victims.
00:03:16.000 That was in 2013.
00:03:17.000 In that same interview, Omar compared the United States military to Al-Qaeda.
00:03:21.000 The account AG Conservative has a good summary of all of this over at Twitter.
00:03:24.000 At her inauguration, Omar celebrated with Linda Sarsour, who herself is a blatant and ridiculous anti-Semite.
00:03:30.000 She has come out as a supporter of the anti-Semitic BDS movement, which is Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel.
00:03:36.000 Leaders of that movement have been tied to terrorist groups, as in this week.
00:03:40.000 In late January, Omar argued that Israel cannot be considered a democracy because it is Jewish, which is insane since Muslims have more rights in Israel than anywhere else in the Middle East.
00:03:49.000 And by the way, there are plenty of democratic countries that have established state religions.
00:03:54.000 And now, she comes out and suggests that the reason that Republicans support Israel is because they're being paid off.
00:03:58.000 So she tweeted a couple of things over the weekend.
00:04:00.000 Here is what she tweeted.
00:04:01.000 First, she tweeted, let me find the first tweet.
00:04:04.000 The first tweet, Was in response to Glenn Greenwald, who himself is a rabid anti-Israel anti-Semite.
00:04:10.000 He's a self-hating Jew.
00:04:14.000 He wrote, It's stunning how much time US political leaders spend defending a foreign nation, even if it means attacking free speech rights of Americans.
00:04:24.000 Nobody is attacking the free speech rights of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.
00:04:27.000 They're sitting in Congress.
00:04:29.000 They're sitting in Congress.
00:04:30.000 They have not had their free speech rights violated.
00:04:33.000 And yet, there's Glenn Greenwald suggesting that all of these Republicans are doing something deeply wrong by mentioning Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, both of whom happen to be radical anti-Semites.
00:04:43.000 So Ilhan Omar tweeted out, quote, Now, As a Jew, one of the oft-used anti-Semitic tropes, and this has been true for thousands of years, is that the Jews control the monetary systems with their shekels, that the Jews are an evil, nefarious force behind world events spreading around money, and that the reason that people support the Jews is because they've been corrupted by the Jew gold.
00:05:07.000 It's been the Jew gold behind Republican support for the state of Israel.
00:05:11.000 Which, of course, is a complete lie.
00:05:13.000 The vast majority of Americans support Israel and support Jews because they're not anti-Semitic and because they recognize that Israel is fighting against some of the worst people on planet Earth.
00:05:22.000 It isn't really a hard choice when you have a choice between democratic country that respects individual rights and evil Islamist dictatorship that tries to murder civilians in their bed.
00:05:31.000 Right?
00:05:31.000 Not a hard choice for most Americans.
00:05:33.000 Very hard choice for a lot of Democrats, apparently.
00:05:36.000 Ilhan Omar, though, suggests that the reason Republicans support Israel is because they're being paid off I know Batya.
00:05:50.000 Nice enough lady.
00:05:51.000 She and I have had a couple of email exchanges.
00:05:53.000 I've written a couple of columns for The Forward, where she's the editor.
00:05:56.000 The Forward is a very, very left-wing Jewish magazine.
00:06:01.000 They are more than happy to cover for anti-Semites, so long as those anti-Semites can put a thin veneer of social justice over their anti-Semitism.
00:06:08.000 Batya has spent years trying to pretend that Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib and AOC, or at least months, trying to pretend that these three are not in fact anti-Semites or in league with anti-Semites, and she bends over backwards to use moderate language in response to anti-Semitism from these three.
00:06:21.000 So Batya tweeted out, quote, I would love to know who Ilhan thinks is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, though I think I can guess.
00:06:28.000 Bad form, Congresswoman.
00:06:29.000 That's the second anti-Semitic trope you've tweeted.
00:06:31.000 Okay, which again, is a pretty weak way of putting this.
00:06:33.000 Bad form?
00:06:35.000 Bad form?
00:06:35.000 You think that Batya was saying bad form about Steve King?
00:06:38.000 You think Batya was saying bad form about Donald Trump after Charlottesville?
00:06:41.000 None of the folks on the left, it was funny, their response was basically, well, I wish she wouldn't use that language.
00:06:46.000 It wasn't, I wish she would stop being a rabid anti-Semite who hates Jews.
00:06:50.000 It wasn't, maybe we shouldn't have elected somebody like this.
00:06:53.000 It wasn't, maybe we should take her off the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where Ilhan Omar currently sits.
00:06:59.000 It wasn't that.
00:06:59.000 It was, you know, it's really bad form that she sort of let the cat out of the bag with being a rabid anti-Semite and all.
00:07:03.000 I wish she would sort of walk that back.
00:07:05.000 So Ilhan Omar doubled down in response to Batya Ungar-Sargon, who again, is extraordinarily left-wing.
00:07:11.000 So Batya tweeted, would love to know who Ilhan Omar thinks is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, though I think I can guess.
00:07:17.000 And Ilhan Omar tweeted back, AIPAC!
00:07:19.000 That would be the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
00:07:22.000 Number one, AIPAC does not really make a lot of contributions to politicians.
00:07:26.000 The amount that they've spent on lobbying on a yearly basis, something like $3.5 million, that is nothing compared to the beer lobby, which spends $20 million a year.
00:07:34.000 Second of all, Jay Street spends a nearly equivalent amount of money on left-wing politicians.
00:07:39.000 The reason that AIPAC gives money, that they lobby, the reason that they lobby politicians is for a particular purpose.
00:07:45.000 But if you think that their lobbying, number one, is restricted to people who are supremely pro-Israel, that is not true.
00:07:50.000 They had Barack Obama speak at the AIPAC conference controversially.
00:07:53.000 They had Joe Biden speak at the AIPAC conference controversially.
00:07:56.000 The only person I'm aware who has not been able to speak at the AIPAC conference was Ron Paul.
00:07:59.000 So they allow pretty much everybody to speak at the AIPAC conference.
00:08:03.000 AIPAC does not own, does not own the United States Congress by dint of paying people.
00:08:08.000 This is sort of a similar trope to the idea that people in America are pro-gun because the NRA is signing them checks.
00:08:13.000 Except now it's the nefarious Jews, spending their shekels, the shekel masters, spending their shekels trying to convince Republican Congress people.
00:08:22.000 Now, I have to mention, one of the weird things about this particular notion is the idea that Congress people are able to be bought and paid for.
00:08:29.000 If that were the case, wouldn't you think that AIPAC would just ratchet up its spending and buy a bunch of Democrats?
00:08:33.000 Why is it that everybody who's always worried about campaign spending, those people are themselves Immune to such corruption.
00:08:42.000 I remember asking this about John McCain when John McCain was talking about campaign finance reform.
00:08:47.000 Ooh, there's too much money in politics.
00:08:48.000 People are buying politicians.
00:08:50.000 Weird, John McCain.
00:08:51.000 You haven't been bought.
00:08:52.000 So why is it that you think everybody around you has been bought, but you have not been bought?
00:08:56.000 There are certain rare instances in which Congress people are actually corrupt and take money from particular lobbies to change their views.
00:09:02.000 That's pretty rare.
00:09:03.000 Most people who are picking up support are picking up support because they pre-held those views.
00:09:08.000 Most people who are pro-Israel were pro-Israel long before they'd ever heard of AIPAC.
00:09:13.000 Well, all of this gruesome fire, even from some members of the Democratic caucus, Congressman Max Rose, who's a Jew from New York, he tweeted out, When someone uses hateful and offensive tropes and words against people of any faith, I will not be silent.
00:09:25.000 Congresswoman Omar's statements are deeply hurtful to Jews, including myself, implying that Americans support Israel because money alone is offensive enough.
00:09:32.000 But to go a step further and retweet someone declaring their pain at her sentiment is simply unacceptable.
00:09:37.000 What happened is that Ilhan Omar mistakenly retweeted somebody who said, She's obviously targeting the Jews.
00:09:42.000 This is no different from her calling Jews hook-nosed.
00:09:45.000 And she retweeted it, and then she un-retweeted it after she realized what she had retweeted.
00:09:50.000 So Max Rose says, Here's the reality. Here's the reality.
00:10:08.000 If you were calling, like I was, for a move toward a censorship motion against Steve King, for example, which a lot of people in the Democratic Party were calling for, how do you not have a censorship of a resolution of censure against Ilhan Omar for all of this?
00:10:27.000 And the reason is because the Democratic Party deep down actually agrees with Ilhan Omar.
00:10:30.000 The Democratic Party unfortunately has become a party that is replete with anti-Semitism and certainly with anti-Israel activity.
00:10:36.000 I was there in 2012 when the idea of Jerusalem as Israel's capital was booed at their convention.
00:10:42.000 AOC is having phone calls with open anti-Semite Jeremy Corbyn in Britain, and then pretending she doesn't know what's going on.
00:10:48.000 It's a bunch of nonsense.
00:10:49.000 The willingness to consort with open Jew-hating in the Democratic Party is pretty obvious at this point.
00:10:57.000 Nancy Pelosi so far has been pretty silent on this.
00:10:59.000 Chelsea Clinton tweeted that she would reach out to Omar's office, and then Omar tweeted that she'd be happy to chat with Clinton.
00:11:08.000 So, here's what's hilarious.
00:11:09.000 So, Chelsea Clinton tweeted out that she'd be happy to talk with Ilhan Omar, and then she was hit by Bernie Sanders supporters with, Melissa Byrne, who's a Bernie Sandersite, she said disappointed Chelsea Clinton is piling on Ilhan instead of reaching out to her.
00:11:25.000 She is a new member of Congress and figuring out how to navigate calling out AIPAC, which is a terrible organization aligned with Bibi, and learning that a lot of folks will assume the worst.
00:11:33.000 There's nothing to assume.
00:11:34.000 Ilhan Omar has repeatedly invoked anti-Semitic tropes because she's an anti-Semite.
00:11:39.000 At a certain point when someone is in your face, not dog whistling, but screaming in your face they don't like Jews, Are we just supposed to pretend that this is all a figment of our imagination?
00:11:49.000 Is that where we're supposed to go with this?
00:11:51.000 So Chelsea Clinton responded, Hi, Melissa, I will reach out to her tomorrow.
00:11:54.000 I also think we have to call out anti-Semitic language and tropes on all sides, particularly in our elected officials and particularly now.
00:12:00.000 And then Ilhan Omar tweeted back at Chelsea Clinton, Chelsea, I would be happy to talk.
00:12:04.000 We must call out smears from the GOP and their allies.
00:12:07.000 And I believe we can do that without criticizing people for their faith.
00:12:10.000 I look forward to building an inclusive movement for justice with you.
00:12:13.000 And Chelsea Clinton then backed off and replied, hello Congresswoman, completely agree.
00:12:16.000 I will reach out to your office tomorrow.
00:12:18.000 Looking forward to connecting about this thread and more.
00:12:20.000 Chelsea.
00:12:22.000 Weird, I don't remember Republican leaders saying about Steve King.
00:12:25.000 I look forward to connecting with Steve King to get clarification on his comments.
00:12:29.000 I don't remember them doing the same thing with Roy Moore.
00:12:32.000 I don't remember Republicans really doing the same thing with pretty much anybody.
00:12:35.000 And this is not to say Republicans are superior to Democrats in every way.
00:12:38.000 This is to suggest that Democrats are perfectly willing to overlook anti-Semitism in their own party.
00:12:43.000 I'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:12:45.000 I mean, this is a sickness inside the Democratic Party.
00:12:48.000 I will explain in a second why this sickness is allowed to thrive inside the Democratic Party.
00:12:51.000 It's really disgusting.
00:12:53.000 First, let's talk about your plans for Valentine's Day.
00:12:55.000 So, this Valentine's Day, I know, you're going to go down to the local grocery store, you're going to pick up a box of Hershey's, and then you're going to give it to your loved one.

00:14:05.000 Enter code BENSHOW.
00:14:08.000 Okay, so a few Democrats have come out and condemned Ilhan Omar or suggested they're going to have conversations with Ilhan Omar.
00:14:17.000 Representative Josh Gottheimer who is a congressperson from New Jersey's 5th District, he tweeted out, for nearly two weeks, Representative Ilhan Omar has avoided meeting with me to discuss why anti-Semitic tropes like these are hurtful to so many Americans.
00:14:28.000 There's absolutely no place for this rhetoric in Congress or anywhere.
00:14:32.000 And immediately he was hit with charges from his own side that he was undermining the fresh faces of the Democratic Party.
00:14:39.000 Representative Jim Himes of Connecticut actually came forward and said, This isn't a really big deal.
00:14:45.000 We should stop making such a fuss over this.
00:14:47.000 He told CNN that people in public office should be comfortable saying what they want to say.
00:14:53.000 It really is, honestly, it's incredible.
00:14:54.000 He said, it's perfectly legitimate to criticize Israel or the pro-Israeli lobby.
00:14:58.000 Just please be careful to do it in a way that can't be interpreted as being anti-Semitic.
00:15:03.000 It's not that people are interpreting her words as anti-semitic.
00:15:06.000 She is invoking anti-semitic stereotypes.
00:15:08.000 End of story.
00:15:09.000 The same party that spots a dog whistle behind everybody who ever dressed as Michael Jackson in 1982 is saying that when a woman comes forward and says, the Jews are paying the Congress to be pro-Israel, that is not, in fact, anti-semitism.
00:15:22.000 If you believe those two things simultaneously, you can just go screw off.
00:15:25.000 I mean, honest to God.
00:15:27.000 It's so dishonest.
00:15:28.000 We'll get to that in just a second.
00:15:29.000 So, Dan Kildee is another member of the Democratic House.
00:15:33.000 And Dan Kildee was on this morning talking.
00:15:36.000 He represents the 5th district of Michigan.
00:15:39.000 And this morning, he suggested on CNN that, in fact, her tweet was not anti-Semitism.
00:15:44.000 She's just, you know, unsophisticated.
00:15:46.000 She's a newbie.
00:15:46.000 Doesn't matter she's had a consistent pattern of anti-Semitism for years and years and years.
00:15:50.000 She's a newbie.
00:15:51.000 Let's give her the benefit of the doubt.
00:15:53.000 I wouldn't take it as anti-Semitism.
00:15:54.000 I would say that she probably objects to the fact that when it comes to issues around foreign policy, or when it comes to issues specifically to Israel, there are a lot of interests, a lot of folks who make campaign contributions based on a person's position on Israel.
00:16:11.000 I know Congresswoman Omar, I don't believe that she would harbor those sorts of views as they've been characterized, but obviously it's a problem that she sees that she wants to address.
00:16:22.000 Okay, that's a joke.
00:16:23.000 That's a joke.
00:16:24.000 Of course she knows exactly what she is saying.
00:16:26.000 She's been an anti-Semite for years.
00:16:27.000 Again, when there's a pattern, and the pattern is not just a pattern that is close to obvious, it is perfectly obvious, at a certain point you have to say, oh, maybe the person's an anti-Semite.
00:16:36.000 The Democratic Party is trying to cover for Ilhan Omar because they have an intersectional conflict.
00:16:40.000 Here is the intersectional conflict for Democrats.
00:16:42.000 Ilhan Omar is Somali and she's Muslim.
00:16:44.000 Therefore, she trumps Jews on the scale of hierarchical victimhood.
00:16:49.000 And therefore, we must pretend that she is not an anti-Semite.
00:16:52.000 This is the way that it works.
00:16:53.000 If you are higher on the intersectional pyramid in terms of the level of victimhood, then you get to insult at will people who are below you on the intersectional pyramid.
00:17:01.000 You get to suggest anything you want about those groups.
00:17:04.000 You can say anything.
00:17:06.000 Jews do not count as part of the intersectional coalition.
00:17:09.000 We have seen this over and over and over from the Democrats in the last several years.
00:17:12.000 We've seen it at the Women's March, where being pro-Israel, Linda Sarsour said you cannot be a feminist and pro-Zionist.
00:17:18.000 She is still introducing people like Kirsten Gillibrand at rallies.
00:17:22.000 The members of the Women's March were endorsing Louis Farrakhan, no problem for years on end, until it finally became a national issue about two years after the Women's March started.
00:17:31.000 And even then, even then, Linda Sarsour is still welcome in the halls of power.
00:17:36.000 AOC can hang out with Jeremy Corbyn.
00:17:37.000 Why?
00:17:38.000 Well, because she's woman, and she's Hispanic, and because she's a communist.
00:17:41.000 So she can obviously work with the members of the labor in Britain, like Jeremy Corbyn, who are openly anti-Semitic.
00:17:48.000 Doesn't matter.
00:17:49.000 We'll just pretend that that's not anti-Semitic in any way.
00:17:52.000 The Chicago, there's something called the Chicago Dyke March, that's what they called themselves, the lesbian march in Chicago.
00:17:58.000 They forced people who were gay, who were carrying a flag with the Star of David on it, not to be part of the march, because they believed that that insulted other members of their intersectional coalition.
00:18:08.000 When it comes to intersectionality, the theory goes something like this.
00:18:11.000 People who have been victimized by the System of the United States must band together to tear down that system.
00:18:18.000 But Jews haven't been sufficiently victimized by that system in the United States.
00:18:21.000 They've been disproportionately well-educated, disproportionately wealthy, disproportionately powerful, disproportionately achievement-oriented.
00:18:28.000 That means that they cannot be good faith members of this coalition, and therefore, if somebody else in the coalition who has been more victimized wants them out, then the Jews go.
00:18:37.000 The Jews are too successful to be part of the dispossessed coalition and therefore they are part of the possessed coalition.
00:18:43.000 They are part of the hierarchy that needs to be itself torn down.
00:18:46.000 This is why the Democratic Party is suddenly so tolerant of open anti-Semitism inside its own ranks.
00:18:51.000 Ilhan Omar is sitting on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:18:54.000 She's a conspiratorial anti-Semite.
00:18:57.000 She's sitting on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:18:58.000 She's not the only one, by the way.
00:18:59.000 Rashida Tlaib is exactly the same thing as Ilhan Omar when it comes to these viewpoints.
00:19:04.000 And we're supposed to sit here and pretend that the Democratic Party is friendly toward Jews?
00:19:08.000 Where's Nancy Pelosi?
00:19:10.000 Pick up the red courtesy phone, Nancy.
00:19:12.000 Isn't it time that you think about who's sitting on your Foreign Affairs Committee?
00:19:16.000 Or is she just going to pretend that everything is totally fine?
00:19:19.000 My assumption is, in the end, she will think that everything is totally fine, because why the hell not?
00:19:24.000 Nobody in the intersectional coalition, including Jews in the intersectional coalition, will say anything.
00:19:28.000 They are too scared of being cast out.
00:19:32.000 All the leftist Jews who vote for the Democratic Party, who look at things like Ilhan Omar, and then shrug and point at Donald Trump, despite the fact that Trump is significantly more philo-semitic and pro-Israel than anybody in the Democratic Party right now, The same Jews who will thrill to Chuck Schumer who voted against the Iran deal while simultaneously allowing Kirsten Gillibrand to vote in favor of the Iran deal.
00:19:54.000 The same Jews who will proclaim that Barack Obama was some sort of pro-Jewish force in the United States when he was precisely the opposite.
00:19:59.000 Those same Jews are likely to look the other way when it comes to Ilhan Omar because the truth is there are a lot of Jews in the United States who don't care very much about Judaism but do care an awful lot about being members of the liberal coalition.
00:20:10.000 That's their prerogative.
00:20:12.000 But the fact is that this Democratic Party is trafficking openly in anti-Semitism at this point, embracing openly figures who are anti-Semitic, and they have for years.
00:20:21.000 And they have for years.
00:20:22.000 And to pretend otherwise is simply a lie.
00:20:24.000 To watch it forwarded by members of the media is particularly galling.
00:20:27.000 As I say, there are folks, Dave Weigel, who sometimes can be a good reporter for the Washington Post, he tweeted out a little bit earlier today that the real problem is that people are taking Ilhan Omar Literally, instead of seriously, he said, as an expert on bad tweets, it's obvious that Omar is trying to broach a tricky-slash-forbidden topic, and it's going to be impossible for her if she keeps being baited on Twitter.
00:20:50.000 What's that tricky?
00:20:51.000 That tricky-slash-forbidden topic?
00:20:54.000 Presumably the involvement of AIPAC, or Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, which actually is an anti-Semitic proposition?
00:21:01.000 So you have an actual reporter from the Washington Post, who happens to be a left-wing reporter from the Washington Post, Dave, talking about how it's just Omar trying to broach a tricky-slash-forbidden topic.
00:21:11.000 Oh, I remember exactly that same kind of tolerance for every Republican who said something vile.
00:21:16.000 They were just trying to broach a topic.
00:21:17.000 That's all it was, just a topic broaching.
00:21:20.000 Absolutely unbelievable.
00:21:21.000 But we're going to be told by the end of the week that this is just Republicans pouncing and them overreacting to Ilhan Omar.
00:21:27.000 And she's just, you know, she's getting her feet under her.
00:21:30.000 She's just learning how Congress works.
00:21:31.000 She's learning where the landmines are.
00:21:34.000 And she stumbled on some uncomfortable truths, but she's learning better now about how to handle herself.
00:21:39.000 So it doesn't sound like she's anti-Semitic, but we can't accuse her of anti-Semitism.
00:21:43.000 I mean, we can't do that.
00:21:44.000 And we wouldn't want to take a black Muslim congresswoman from Somalia and take her and then remove her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:21:50.000 That might be racist.
00:21:51.000 It's not anti-Semitic for her to say Jew Gold is behind the Republican position on Israel, but it would be anti-Muslim and anti-black if we were to remove her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee for doing exactly that.
00:22:01.000 OK, in just a second, we're going to talk about the media's willingness to overlook the insanity of the Democratic Party.
00:22:07.000 I mean, really, the insanity of the fresh faces, so fresh, so face inside the Democratic Party, because it ain't just Ilhan Omar.
00:22:13.000 It is also AOC.
00:22:14.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:22:15.000 First, let's talk about a simple fact.

00:23:20.000 All right, so it's not just Ilhan Omar the media are going to cover for.
00:23:22.000 They're also covering for AOC.
00:23:24.000 So AOC made a complete fool of herself last week because her team released an insane Green New Deal plan.
00:23:32.000 They released it on her website.
00:23:33.000 It was up for hours and hours and hours and hours.
00:23:35.000 And then it was pulled down because this document, the six-page document, Showed that the democratic program on the Green New Deal is fully insane.
00:23:42.000 It suggested we should abolish airplanes in favor of trains.
00:23:46.000 It suggested we were going to build charging stations quote-unquote everywhere.
00:23:49.000 That we were going to retrofit or rebuild every building in the United States.
00:23:53.000 It suggested that we were going to make sure that we had vacation time and full health care and full parental leave and full payment for people who were unable and unwilling to work.
00:24:03.000 I mean the plan was full-scale communism.
00:24:05.000 It was just a communist plan.
00:24:06.000 It was openly red.
00:24:07.000 It was just...
00:24:08.000 It wasn't even green, it was just red.
00:24:10.000 And AOC put it up on her website, and then she removed it from her website, and then she lied about it.
00:24:16.000 So, last Friday night, apparently on Tucker Carlson's program, one of AOC's top advisors was on with Tucker Carlson talking about the so-called Green New Deal, and he just started lying about it.
00:24:28.000 He was asked specifically about propositions in AOC's document, and he just said, that wasn't in the document.
00:24:33.000 I don't know what you're talking about.
00:24:36.000 No, we never put anything like that up.
00:24:37.000 That's not there.
00:24:38.000 And Tucker's like, uh, what now?
00:24:40.000 Like, I'm looking at the document.
00:24:41.000 And this advisor just is lying.
00:24:44.000 I mean, he just openly lies.
00:24:45.000 The guy's name is Robert Hockett.
00:24:46.000 He's a Cornell professor and advisor to AOC.
00:24:49.000 And he says, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:24:51.000 AOC has never said anything like that.
00:24:53.000 Watch the lie.
00:24:54.000 Why would we ever pay people who are, quote, unwilling to work?
00:24:58.000 Uh, I, we, we never would, right?
00:25:00.000 And AOC has never said anything like that, right?
00:25:02.000 I think you're referring to some sort of document that some, I think some doctored document that somebody other than us has been circulating.
00:25:09.000 Oh, I thought that came right from her, that was in the background or from her office is my understanding.
00:25:13.000 No, no, she's actually tweeted it out to laugh at it.
00:25:16.000 If you look at her latest tweets, it seems that apparently some Republicans have put it out there.
00:25:20.000 I don't know the details.
00:25:21.000 Oh, well, good!
00:25:21.000 Well, then, then, thank you for correcting me.
00:25:23.000 I mean, because it was like, it seemed a little ridiculous.
00:25:26.000 Okay, um, that's a lie.
00:25:28.000 That's a lie.
00:25:28.000 It wasn't a backgrounder put out by her office, and this idiot is mixing up a mock version of the plan put out by a bunch of Republicans making fun of her.
00:25:37.000 Not even Republicans, just generalized right-wing people on Twitter mocking the plan that she put out.
00:25:42.000 I mean, we went over it word for word for several hours last week.
00:25:46.000 It was not something that was put out by Republicans.
00:25:48.000 It was something put out by AOC because she's a dummy.
00:25:51.000 Okay?
00:25:51.000 And because her team is filled with dummies.
00:25:53.000 And this guy is apparently another one of those dummies.
00:25:55.000 So then, AOC tweets this out.
00:25:57.000 She tweeted out there are multiple Dr. GND- Green New Deal resolutions and frequently asked questions floating around.
00:26:03.000 There was also a draft version that got uploaded and taken down.
00:26:06.000 There's also draft versions floating out there.
00:26:08.000 Point is, the real one is our submitted resolution, House Resolution 109.
00:26:11.000 So, now she's claiming that there are some versions that are doctored.
00:26:15.000 Okay, that's just a lie.
00:26:16.000 They're not doctored, they're satire.
00:26:18.000 Again, AOC has no capacity to understand humor.
00:26:20.000 I know, we pretend that she actually has a sense of humor?
00:26:23.000 No.
00:26:24.000 Not true.
00:26:24.000 Okay, and then, she says, well, what this actually was is a draft version that got uploaded.
00:26:29.000 Okay, a draft version of your document that suggests that you want to abolish airplanes in favor of trains, and that, let's assume that's all right.
00:26:38.000 How did that even get into the drafting process?
00:26:41.000 First of all, it's a lie, okay?
00:26:42.000 This was the most coordinated release of a Green New Deal in history.
00:26:46.000 It was legitimately coordinated down to the nub.
00:26:49.000 Within five minutes of the HR resolution being introduced, it had been endorsed by four separate 2020 presidential candidates, and that same hour this proposal went up on AOC's website, and AOC was the co-sponsor in the House.
00:27:00.000 She was specifically cited as the progenitor of this Green New Deal nonsense by all four of the Democratic nominees in the Senate, potential nominees in the Senate, who are running.
00:27:12.000 So the suggestion is the most important day of AOC's life, her political life, in the Green New Deal, and she puts out, what, an old draft version?
00:27:19.000 That's the claim now?
00:27:21.000 And then it got taken down?
00:27:22.000 Weird, because if it were an old draft version, you know what I would have assumed?
00:27:25.000 Like if somebody at my office put up an old draft of an article, and then we realized it was an old draft, you know what would go up?
00:27:31.000 The new draft.
00:27:33.000 Wouldn't that be the thing you'd put up, right?
00:27:34.000 You'd have like a backgrounder and a frequently asked questions.
00:27:36.000 You'd say, oh god, you know, that was the wrong version.
00:27:38.000 Here's the new version.
00:27:39.000 Within five minutes, we just put up version 1.0.
00:27:41.000 It's actually version 5.0 that should have gone up.
00:27:44.000 As of today, there is still no backgrounder or FAQ on AOC's website from what I can see.
00:27:49.000 Which means, no, you put up what you wanted to put up and then you had to take it down because you looked like a dolt.
00:27:54.000 Because you look like an idiot.
00:27:55.000 That didn't stop the media.
00:27:56.000 The media actually started running headlines about Republicans' pounce on AOC's accidental release of the Green New Deal.
00:28:03.000 What they really should be looking at is the House resolution.
00:28:06.000 Now, what's hilarious is to watch the media change the narrative as AOC changes the narrative.
00:28:09.000 So last week, you'll recall.
00:28:12.000 Both the New York Times and Politico defended the idiotic six-page document itself.
00:28:17.000 They said, well, it's breathtaking in its ambition and scope.
00:28:20.000 It's incredible in what it seeks to do.
00:28:23.000 It's never going to be implemented, but maybe that's the point.
00:28:26.000 That's what Politico said.
00:28:27.000 Now it's, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:28:29.000 It was an accident, guys.
00:28:31.000 Are you silly?
00:28:32.000 Of course it was never realistic because it was an accident.
00:28:36.000 Come on.
00:28:36.000 I mean, she even said it was an accident.
00:28:37.000 And then you started making fun of her because it was an accident.
00:28:42.000 It's unbelievable.
00:28:43.000 They shift on a dime and start mirroring AOC's narrative preferences.
00:28:48.000 The same members of the media who she is constantly ripping up and down as being biased against her in full Trumpian fashion.
00:28:54.000 The only difference being the media actually do hate Trump, but they adore AOC.
00:28:58.000 They're walking around with a drool cup for AOC.
00:29:01.000 It's unbelievable.
00:29:03.000 They drool more than my two-and-a-half-year-old son with a cold.
00:29:06.000 It's astonishing.
00:29:08.000 And then they come to their final point, the media, and their final point when it comes to the Green New Deal is, you know what?
00:29:14.000 It doesn't really matter what you put up on our website.
00:29:16.000 It doesn't really matter what she thinks.
00:29:18.000 It doesn't really matter what policy proposals are put forward.
00:29:20.000 All that matters is that if we don't do something, something, Millions will die!
00:29:25.000 So you get Katie Turrer on MSNBC doing this routine, an objective news host on MSNBC.
00:29:30.000 And she says, look, without the Green New Deal, millions will die.
00:29:34.000 Before we get to her clip, let me just explain.
00:29:35.000 The House resolution provides zero solutions, none.
00:29:38.000 The House resolution just says there should be a Green New Deal that gets us off of carbon fuels.
00:29:43.000 That's basically the entire text of the resolution.
00:29:46.000 It doesn't say anything.
00:29:47.000 And that's like saying, we resolve, this House of Congress resolves, that everyone in the United States should be incredibly wealthy.
00:29:55.000 And the media goes, woo!
00:29:56.000 Yeah!
00:29:57.000 Without that resolution, people would be poor.
00:29:59.000 It's like, you actually have to do something as Congress to make your goal happen.
00:30:07.000 But according to Katie Tur, the real problem is not that Democrats are proposing irresponsible, silly, ridiculous, counterproductive things that would not in any way actually impact the climate on a global scale, but would destroy the United States economy.
00:30:20.000 The real key is that without a resolution like this that is absolutely nonsensical, millions will die, which is a shock to me, since I'm already dead because of net neutrality.
00:30:30.000 I'm already dead since Brett Kavanaugh's on the Supreme Court.
00:30:32.000 I'm already dead because of the tax cuts.
00:30:34.000 I've died so many times at this point since Trump was elected.
00:30:37.000 I mean, I have nine lives, and I think so does everyone else in the United States.
00:30:40.000 According to Katie Tur, millions will die unless we abide by a resolution that has no specifics and does not explain how it seeks to achieve what it wants to achieve.
00:30:49.000 The UN said we have 12 years before complete disaster.
00:30:51.000 You talk to the representative of the Marshall Islands, and he's calling it what could amount to genocide if we allow things to go as they are.
00:30:59.000 The reports aren't just, hey, it's going to get bad.
00:31:02.000 The reports are people will die.
00:31:04.000 Millions and millions and millions of people will die.
00:31:07.000 Okay, I don't know which reports she's looking at that millions and millions of people will die.
00:31:10.000 Again, the implication for the IPCC is that lots of people will have to move, that there will be significant climate change over the next century.
00:31:18.000 I'm always bewildered by the point made by folks on the left that the water levels will rise and thus millions will die over the course of the next century.
00:31:26.000 Bjorn Lomberg makes this point.
00:31:27.000 Does he think that people are just going to start looking down at their feet and the water is going to be rising around their feet?
00:31:32.000 You know what?
00:31:33.000 I'm going to wait until this thing rises a couple more meters.
00:31:37.000 When it rains in your house, do you notice when it leaks into your house?
00:31:40.000 I do.
00:31:41.000 Would you notice if the water levels rose enough that the water was now in your house?
00:31:45.000 My guess is you would.
00:31:45.000 Would you stick around and wait for it to reach nose level?
00:31:48.000 I highly doubt it.
00:31:49.000 It's not going to be day after tomorrow.
00:31:51.000 It's not a giant tsunami that swamps all of the coasts around the world.
00:31:54.000 That's not how this works.
00:31:56.000 And yet, without this pointless resolution that actually does not, it doesn't even achieve what it seeks to achieve.
00:32:01.000 As I mentioned last week, this resolution, AOC's plan suggested originally, in the plan, that there would be no reliance on nuclear power, which is insane.
00:32:08.000 You can't go green emissions if you don't use nuclear power.
00:32:12.000 But this, this resolution doesn't even touch what would happen with climate change.
00:32:16.000 If the United States were to get to zero emissions by 2030, it would lower the global climate by something like 0.124 degrees Celsius over the next century.
00:32:26.000 That ain't gonna cut it.
00:32:27.000 You know who's responsible for the growing level of emissions in the world?
00:32:30.000 That would be India, China, Brazil.
00:32:31.000 Developing countries, not the first world.
00:32:35.000 Anyway, the Democrats are embracing this stuff full scale because they've gone extraordinarily radical.
00:32:39.000 We'll get to that in just a second.
00:32:40.000 First, let us discuss your sleeping arrangements.
00:32:44.000 So, we're not going to agree on everything, but I think we can all agree that we could use more sleep.
00:32:47.000 Getting a good night's sleep is easier if you're using Boland brand sheets.
00:32:50.000 You never think about your sheets.
00:32:51.000 You just think that you can go down to, like, the gas station, pick up what that weird guy is selling on the plastic table, and it says one million thread count.
00:32:58.000 You're like, oh, that's probably great.
00:32:59.000 Then you bring it home.
00:33:00.000 And you realize it's an actual plastic tarp?
00:33:01.000 Well, instead of that, what you should have is bull and branch sheets.
00:33:04.000 Everything that they make is made from pure 100% organic cotton, which means they start out super soft and they get even softer over time.
00:33:11.000 You can buy directly from them, so you're essentially paying wholesale prices.
00:33:14.000 Luxury sheets can cost up to a thousand bucks in the store.
00:33:17.000 Bull and branch sheets are only a couple of hundred bucks.
00:33:19.000 Everyone who tries bull and branch sheets loves them.
00:33:21.000 We have...
00:33:22.000 Bull and Branch sheets in our house.
00:33:23.000 We got rid of all our other sheets because they're so comfortable.
00:33:25.000 Even three U.S.
00:33:26.000 presidents sleep on Bull and Branch sheets.
00:33:28.000 Shipping is free.
00:33:29.000 You can try them for 30 nights.
00:33:30.000 If you don't love them, send them back for a refund.

00:35:01.000 We talked about the military and we talked about art.
00:35:03.000 It was really great.
00:35:04.000 And next week we have someone else fantastic.
00:35:06.000 So go check that out right now.
00:35:08.000 We're the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:35:11.000 As I say, the Democrats have gone incredibly radical and the media are willing to bend over backwards to pretend they are not.
00:35:22.000 So AOC puts out a fully communist document, pretends that it was accidentally released, and pretends maybe that it was satire, and the media just go right along with it.
00:35:30.000 Republicans pounce.
00:35:31.000 Ilhan Omar, openly anti-Semitic.
00:35:33.000 The media, oh well, maybe she's just trying to broach a difficult topic in an awkward way.
00:35:38.000 I mean, honest to God, what the hell, guys.
00:35:40.000 But the good news is that the top-level Democrats are also mirroring this stuff.
00:35:44.000 So, Elizabeth Warren, who's desperately trying to remain relevant after the implosion of her campaign on the basis of her Native American false ancestry claims, she came out over the weekend and she said, you know that Green New Deal?
00:35:56.000 We must spend money on it.
00:35:58.000 It's time to spend money.
00:35:59.000 She's trying to channel Bernie Sanders, except not as well.
00:36:02.000 So here is Elizabeth Warren doing that routine yesterday.
00:36:05.000 I'm tired of hearing what we can't afford because it's just not true.
00:36:12.000 We are the wealthiest nation in the history of the world.
00:36:18.000 Of course we can afford these investments.
00:36:21.000 Stop stalling on spending money, real money, on infrastructure and clean energy and a Green New Deal!
00:36:30.000 Boy, she is so charismatic.
00:36:32.000 By which I mean, oh no!
00:36:34.000 But I do love the, I'm tired of hearing we can't spend money on things.
00:36:39.000 We have unlimited money from my money machine!
00:36:42.000 Right here!
00:36:43.000 What's amazing about so many of the social democrats in the Democratic Party, you know, we'll distinguish socialists, as in Cuba and Venezuela, from social democrats, i.e.
00:36:51.000 Denmark, Norway.
00:36:52.000 What's so fascinating about the quote-unquote social democratic party is the social democratic party, they don't actually want any of the costs associated with social democracy.
00:37:00.000 Look at the tax rates in Scandinavia.
00:37:03.000 The tax rates in Denmark are 60% for people making above 60 grand a year, plus there is a value-added tax that adds another 25% sales tax on top of that.
00:37:10.000 So if you're a normal person living in Denmark, you're spending upwards of 60% of the money that you make every year going to the government.
00:37:17.000 Democrats are never going to tell you about that.
00:37:19.000 Ever.
00:37:20.000 Democrats don't want to restrict immigration.
00:37:22.000 And yet, all of the Scandinavian countries have been increasingly restricting immigration because it turns out that when you open a store and put free stuff in the window, and then you don't restrict who comes in, you go bankrupt.
00:37:33.000 So Democrats' new theory is something called modern monetary theory, which is basically just, we can spend as much money as we could possibly want and no one will ever stop buying our bonds.
00:37:41.000 Which is only true so long as the United States continues to be the world's top producer of goods and services.
00:37:47.000 So long as our economy is strong, that is the case.
00:37:49.000 But if we are spending endless amounts of money and also regulating endless amounts of businesses and taxing them to death, that's not going to be the case.
00:37:57.000 It's all fun and games, being the leading economy on the planet, until you're not anymore, and then people stop funding all of your spending, at which point you have to inflate your way out, or tax your way out.
00:38:06.000 There's not enough money to tax your way out, so you have to inflate your way out.
00:38:10.000 But I guess the new Democratic theory is that irresponsibility is an actual economic strategy.
00:38:14.000 Now listen, Republicans have had the same strategy, but at least they're not openly proclaiming it.
00:38:18.000 At least Republicans still pretend that they would like to hem in spending at some point.
00:38:22.000 Democrats are like, screw it, man.
00:38:23.000 I mean, let's just go on a bender right here.
00:38:25.000 We're just going to spend as much money as we can possibly print in the end.
00:38:28.000 Pretty amazing stuff.
00:38:30.000 But that was not the extent of Elizabeth Warren's campaign over the weekend.
00:38:34.000 The best moment of Elizabeth Warren's campaign over the weekend was her grabbing a small child and dragging that small child into full view of the camera.
00:38:42.000 This is pretty spectacular.
00:38:43.000 So there's Elizabeth Warren on the stage.
00:38:44.000 I don't know who this kid is.
00:38:45.000 I mean, maybe the kid's a relative?
00:38:47.000 I have no idea who this kid is.
00:38:48.000 But she reaches over and grabs this little kid who's wearing like a blue jacket and just like yanks the kid in front of her.
00:38:54.000 Get it over here, kid!
00:38:55.000 We're running for president!
00:38:57.000 Get it over here!
00:38:58.000 We need you in the frame!
00:39:01.000 Play it again, this is great.
00:39:02.000 Like the kids just standing over there, all happy, and then Elizabeth Warren just like, come here!
00:39:07.000 No!
00:39:07.000 Ah!
00:39:12.000 Yanking that kid like a baby from the womb.
00:39:14.000 Good times over there at the Elizabeth Warren campaign.
00:39:17.000 And then she has to appeal to her base, and her base not only wants endless spending and apparently grabbing of children, but also they want her signaling that President Trump might be in prison by 2020, so she was doing that routine over the weekend as well.
00:39:30.000 Here's what bothers me.
00:39:31.000 By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be president.
00:39:37.000 In fact, he may not even be a free person.
00:39:48.000 Okay, that is just her obviously stroking the needs of the Democratic base.
00:39:52.000 He might be gone.
00:39:53.000 Yeah, sure.
00:39:55.000 Provide the evidence and then we'll talk about it.
00:39:57.000 Meanwhile, Amy Klobuchar announced her campaign run.
00:40:01.000 What was hilarious is that she did it, like, in the middle of the winter, in the snow, and people were just getting hit by a blizzard while she was out there, which for, apparently, Senator Klobuchar, that's apparently what she does with her bad staffers, just throws them outdoors, naked, and then she has them frozen.
00:40:15.000 There were a bunch of stories last week about how she mistreats her staffers, and so here was Amy Klobuchar announcing her run, which will end, I think, very much along the same lines as Tim Pawlenty's 2012 presidential run.
00:40:29.000 - I'm running this job for every person who wants their work recognized and rewarded.
00:40:34.000 I am running for every parent who wants a better world for their kids.
00:40:39.000 I'm running for every student who wants a good education.
00:40:44.000 For every senior who wants affordable prescription drugs.
00:40:48.000 - Wow, she is more boring than that's now.
00:40:50.000 - For every worker, farmer, dreamer, and builder.
00:40:54.000 I am running for every American. - That lady is just a dose of political valiums.
00:40:58.000 So, Amy Klobuchar, I think we can bid a fond farewell to her campaign before it begins.
00:41:04.000 And Elizabeth Warren, I think, is in trouble also.
00:41:05.000 Meanwhile, Willie Brown was slamming Kamala Harris over the weekend, which is pretty hilarious, so you'll recall.
00:41:10.000 The romantic story of a 60-year-old man stooping a 30-year-old lady and then getting her jobs on the state governmental level, which is what Willie Brown claims he was doing back when he was mayor of San Francisco and a top political kingmaker in California.
00:41:22.000 Kamala Harris was at that time an up-and-coming political junkie, and she started dating Willie Brown, who at the time was married, by the way.
00:41:29.000 In his weekly column in the San Francisco Chronicle, Brown wrote, Make no mistake, President Trump's State of the Union address was the kickoff for his 2020 re-election campaign.
00:41:37.000 And so far, I've yet to see a Democrat who can beat him.
00:41:40.000 The overnight polling after the speech showed once again he connected with voters, at least enough voters to make him a 2020 favorite.
00:41:45.000 You can't say the same for the Democratic contenders.
00:41:48.000 They all have impressive credentials, winning personalities, and positive messages, but none displays the people personality that our media-savvy president has mastered.
00:41:56.000 Brown acknowledged last month, according to Breitbart, he had dated Harris and given her jobs that helped her early political career.
00:42:02.000 Kind of a backhanded slap at Kamala Harris.
00:42:04.000 Nobody says Willie Brown can actually beat President Trump at current.
00:42:07.000 Meanwhile, Cory Booker is campaigning in Iowa.
00:42:09.000 Another inspiring Spartacus moment because that's what Spartacus did.
00:42:13.000 He went to Iowa.
00:42:14.000 Cory Booker went to Iowa and pretended to be the newfangled Obama.
00:42:19.000 He also had a very, a very odd exchange with a reporter in which a reporter came up to him and started speaking with an accent and Booker immediately assumed the guy was speaking Spanish.
00:42:32.000 And so he said, Tu hablas espanol?
00:42:34.000 And the guy was like, No, I'm from Switzerland.
00:42:37.000 And Cory Booker was like, Oh, I don't speak Swiss.
00:42:39.000 Because no one speaks Swiss, because it's not a language.
00:42:42.000 That's not a thing.
00:42:45.000 By the way, if any Republican had said that, endless mockery.
00:42:48.000 Cory Booker says it, it's just another day being Cory Booker, man.
00:42:51.000 And then, Beto O'Rourke is on the campaign trail as well.
00:42:54.000 So, Beto O'Rourke is going to headline a rally today in El Paso.
00:42:57.000 President Trump is set to hold a rally in El Paso today to talk about the government shutdown and the border.
00:43:02.000 It's his first 2020 campaign event, basically.
00:43:04.000 O'Rourke will join rally-goers in El Paso to show the country the reality of the border.
00:43:08.000 There is, in fact, large segments of border wall in El Paso.
00:43:12.000 It is where Border Patrol is located.
00:43:14.000 That's one of the reasons El Paso has become a much safer city.
00:43:17.000 They've put out a statement that says, Beto O'Rourke will join with his city on Monday evening to show the country the reality of the border, a vibrant, safe, binational community that proudly celebrates its culture, history, diversity, and status as a city of immigrants.
00:43:33.000 So O'Rourke presumably will take out his bass guitar and then he'll start singing Smells Like Teen Spirit.
00:43:38.000 That's how he leads, I mean I just imagine that's how he leads off every single rally.
00:43:42.000 With a rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit where he just dons his old sheep costume from his earlier days and then he just sings to himself.
00:43:53.000 I think that's...
00:43:54.000 That's that's where it goes.
00:43:55.000 So, you know, good, good for Beta O'Rourke.
00:43:58.000 work.
00:43:58.000 It's a rather uninspiring group of Democrats.
00:44:00.000 Honestly, all President Trump has to do is shut his face.
00:44:03.000 Just be quiet.
00:44:04.000 Let them talk.
00:44:05.000 Let them be stupid.
00:44:06.000 All will be well.
00:44:07.000 I mean, and proof of that is over in Virginia, where things have gone very poorly for the current governor of Virginia.
00:44:13.000 He's trying to survive politically.
00:44:14.000 He will survive politically.
00:44:16.000 There is a poll out that shows that 60%, some 60% of blacks in Virginia want him to remain as governor, which shows that even they are not supremely offended at the whole, in 1985, I dressed up in blackface, or as Michael Jackson, alternatively routine.
00:44:30.000 That doesn't mean Ralph Northam is good at his job.
00:44:32.000 He is very, very bad at his job.
00:44:33.000 Yesterday, he did his long-awaited interview in which he was trying to rehabilitate himself, and he was asked, why should you stay governor?
00:44:41.000 His answer?
00:44:42.000 Pretty fantastic.
00:44:43.000 Why do you think you still deserve this job when so many people are calling for you to step down?
00:44:47.000 Well, again, we have worked very hard.
00:44:50.000 We've had a good first year, and I'm a leader.
00:44:54.000 I've been in some very difficult situations, life and death situations, taking care of sick children.
00:45:00.000 And right now... Because you're a doctor, yeah.
00:45:01.000 Right now, Virginia needs someone that can heal.
00:45:05.000 There's no better person to do that than a doctor.
00:45:08.000 So I'm going to stick around because I'm a doctor and I'm going to help people heal.
00:45:12.000 That's a pretty great answer.
00:45:14.000 And by great, I mean, that's an awful answer.
00:45:16.000 That is one of the worst political answers, in fact, that I have ever heard.
00:45:19.000 So I'm like my wife's a doctor.
00:45:21.000 She's not governor of Virginia.
00:45:23.000 Nor is that a qualifier to be governor of Virginia, as it turns out.
00:45:26.000 And the idea that you are a doctor and that therefore you are a good person is also weird.
00:45:32.000 There have been some pretty bad doctors.
00:45:34.000 I can't wait for Gail King's interview with Dr. Moreau.
00:45:37.000 It's like, why should you be running this island?
00:45:39.000 It's like, well, as a doctor, sure, you know, I make human-animal hybrids, but as a doctor, who best to bring people and animals together than me, Dr. Moreau?
00:45:53.000 Well done, Ralph Northam.
00:45:54.000 I hope he continues to be governor of Virginia until he no longer is.
00:45:56.000 Alright, time for some things I like and then some things that I hate.
00:46:00.000 So, things that I like today.
00:46:02.000 There's a great book that I've been reading by Stephen C. Meyer.
00:46:04.000 Stephen Meyer is a professor of biology.
00:46:09.000 He is, I'm trying to remember his exact credential, PhD from the University of Cambridge in the Philosophy of Science, former geophysicist, college professor.
00:46:17.000 He directs the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute in Seattle.
00:46:22.000 This book is basically about the theory of intelligence design.
00:46:24.000 Now, people mix up creationism and intelligence design.
00:46:26.000 Creationism is the idea that the Bible is completely literal, and that the Earth was completed in six literal days, that the dinosaurs were basically non-existent, that the geological record of the world is falsified, By God?
00:46:40.000 That is not what he is talking about here.
00:46:41.000 In that sense, I am not a fundamentalist creationist.
00:46:43.000 I believe in the theory of evolution.
00:46:45.000 I believe that the Earth is billions of years old.
00:46:47.000 I believe that humanity is hundreds of thousands of years old.
00:46:50.000 I agree with all of that stuff.
00:46:52.000 This is a deeply scientifically knowledgeable book, basically asking some serious questions about why it is that DNA seems to have been designed.
00:47:02.000 And there are a bunch of puzzles that people like Richard Dawkins really have not provided sufficient answers to.
00:47:07.000 There's a 500-page book of heavy science, Signature in the Cell, DNA Evidence for Intelligent Design, well worth the read.
00:47:13.000 It was sent to me by a listener from British Columbia, actually, and it's taken me about a year to get around to it.
00:47:18.000 I'd read another one of Stephen Meyer's books.
00:47:20.000 They're all very good and very well thought out.
00:47:22.000 Because there are significant scientific realities that require some explanation as to how evolution could have, in undirected fashion, resulted in them.
00:47:29.000 So for example, DNA has to be created by proteins, but you need DNA in order to create proteins.
00:47:34.000 So which came first, DNA or proteins?
00:47:36.000 There are certain basic questions.
00:47:38.000 Why is it the DNA, which is an information coding system, it has to have a decoder?
00:47:43.000 How could the decoder have evolved separately from the DNA?
00:47:46.000 There are all sorts of questions.
00:47:48.000 Scientifically speaking, about whether intelligent design is present in the process, and Stephen Meyer tries to make the scientific case that the best possible theory here is that there is in fact an intelligent design to the process of biology and evolution, and that that is a scientific theory, a scientific hypothesis, at the very least, that should be kept on the same par as pure random chance, which is what
00:48:12.000 Folks like Dawkins or Sam Harris posit for the realities of evolution and DNA biology.
00:48:18.000 So, it's well worth the read.
00:48:19.000 It's really interesting stuff.
00:48:20.000 Okay, other things that I like today.
00:48:23.000 So, I should update you on the Jeff Bezos story very quickly.
00:48:26.000 So, as you'll recall, last week there was a lot of speculation by folks in the media that the source for American media, being the National Enquirer, the source for their Ownership, the source for the fact that they had control of text messages from Jeff Bezos of his junk to his then lover, and they had text messages from her to him.
00:48:48.000 There was suggestion that that had come from the White House.
00:48:51.000 And that that had come from the federal government?
00:48:53.000 Well, now it turns out that the person who actually leaked that stuff to the National Enquirer was the mistress's brother.
00:48:57.000 So, it was a family problem that didn't stop the media from running with the theory that Trump was behind all of it, because Trump is behind everything.
00:49:03.000 Trump is nefarious and evil, and therefore behind everything.
00:49:07.000 Turns out that that's not so true.
00:49:08.000 So, just worthy of note.
00:49:10.000 Okay, time for a quick thing that I hate.
00:49:16.000 The love affair with the Obamas just continues apace.
00:49:19.000 So last night at the Grammys, Michelle Obama showed up because obviously Michelle Obama has some, like she's a singer, right?
00:49:25.000 She's a very famous singer, Michelle.
00:49:27.000 But she's great at dance.
00:49:29.000 But she's a really great artist who's made great music.
00:49:32.000 No.
00:49:33.000 She's just a famous lady.
00:49:34.000 She's just a famous politician that is left-wing and is married to Barack Obama, and therefore, she was there hugging all of the artistic figures at the Grammys because she's a Hollywood candidate.
00:49:44.000 There are a lot of people who are speculating she showed up at the Grammys because maybe she'll throw her hat in the ring for 2020.
00:49:48.000 I think that's deeply unlikely.
00:49:49.000 I think much more likely she throws her hat in the ring in 2024 or something.
00:49:53.000 It would just be too much for the American people, I think, to have Obama, Trump, Obama again.
00:49:58.000 But she showed up at the Grammys anyway because, don't worry, it's only Trump who's made our politics into culture.
00:50:03.000 It wasn't the Obamas at all.
00:50:05.000 Obama, who showed his face on every TV show this side of New Girl.
00:50:09.000 It's really, but here was Michelle Obama at the Grammys last night.
00:50:11.000 Can I bring some of my sisters out here tonight?
00:50:14.000 So much social justice happening. - Bye.
00:50:28.000 Oh, people love Michelle Obama.
00:50:29.000 Yay!
00:50:30.000 I remember when they did this for Laura Bush at the Tonys. - Motown Records, I wore out on the South Side.
00:50:38.000 People freaking out.
00:50:39.000 Michelle Obama's here.
00:50:40.000 Oh my God!
00:50:41.000 Wow!
00:50:42.000 She has nothing better to do.
00:50:43.000 I mean, what's she going to do on a random Sunday night?
00:50:46.000 Come on.
00:50:49.000 What I love the most about Michelle Obama being alongside all these artists is obviously she's an artistic figure, a deep, important, artistic figure.
00:50:57.000 Again, this is the same thing as Barack Obama deciding he needed to show up at the baseball all-star game to throw out the first pitch, and then he needed to show up giving his draft picks, and then he needed— I mean, at least Obama, I guess, was like a sportsy president.
00:51:09.000 Why Michelle Obama was at the Grammys?
00:51:10.000 I don't know, except that people at the Grammys love her, so I guess that their political preferences have to be on full display.
00:51:16.000 But again, don't worry.
00:51:17.000 This is all just normal, non-political, cultural stuff.
00:51:21.000 Hollywood is not biased in any way.
00:51:23.000 They're just catering to the market.
00:51:24.000 That is what we have been told.
