00:01:31.000 Well, Joe Biden is now officially less popular than the movie Ishtar.
00:01:36.000 Ishtar has a 37% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
00:01:40.000 Famously, one of the worst movies ever made, one of the biggest bombs ever made.
00:01:43.000 And Joe Biden, according to a new Quinnipiac poll, is down at 33%.
00:01:47.000 There are forms of bowel cancer that have higher approval ratings than the current president of the United States.
00:01:52.000 It really depends on stage.
00:01:54.000 Like a stage one colon cancer, probably around where, like stage four, yeah, Biden's probably more popular than that.
00:01:59.000 But stage one, You know, he's probably in incomparable space.
00:02:03.000 According to this new Quinnipiac poll, Joe Biden's approval rating among all voters is 33%.
00:02:10.000 33%, plunging toward the 20s.
00:02:12.000 This poll was conducted January 7th through January 10th, released on Wednesday.
00:02:15.000 It found 33% of about 1,313 adults surveyed approved of Biden's job performance.
00:02:23.000 53% disapproved.
00:02:24.000 These numbers are absolutely abysmal.
00:02:27.000 And by the way, it's across the board.
00:02:30.000 Right now, the general American public thinks Biden is terrible by a huge margin, and that's particularly true of independents.
00:02:40.000 Among registered voters, by the way, he's still at 35% approval rating.
00:02:44.000 So all voters, 33%.
00:02:45.000 Among Democrats, In today's poll, only 75% of Democrats approve of Biden.
00:02:45.000 Registered voters, 35%.
00:02:55.000 Now, normally, when you have a president of your own party, you're in the 90s.
00:02:59.000 If you're down to like three quarters of your own party, that means that you are terrible at your job.
00:03:04.000 Among independents, the numbers are far, far worse.
00:03:08.000 According to independents, Joe Biden is just awful all the way through.
00:03:15.000 Right now, the independents are suggesting that Joe Biden is a bad president by an extraordinary margin.
00:03:22.000 More than half of political independents, 57%, said they disapprove of Biden's job performance.
00:03:26.000 Only 25% say they approve.
00:03:29.000 And of course, 95% of Republicans say that Joe Biden is terrible.
00:03:32.000 Only 2% approved.
00:03:34.000 I'm not sure who those 2% are.
00:03:35.000 Like the entire staff of the bulwark.
00:03:37.000 Everybody else is like, no, this guy is a garbage president.
00:03:39.000 He is just terrible all the way through.
00:03:42.000 And he's getting destroyed with every major demographic.
00:03:46.000 That, by the way, includes Hispanics.
00:03:48.000 The numbers with Hispanics?
00:03:50.000 Terrible.
00:03:51.000 Right now, according to that Quinnipiac poll, whites Approve of Joe Biden, 32%.
00:03:58.000 Only 32% of white people approve of Joe Biden, 57% disapprove.
00:04:02.000 Among black Americans, 57% approve of Joe Biden, 27% disapprove, which is also a terrible number for black Americans, for a Democratic president.
00:04:10.000 Typically, that number's up in the 80s.
00:04:12.000 For Hispanics, according to this Pew poll, Hispanics only approve of Joe Biden 28%.
00:04:18.000 So lower than white voters.
00:04:21.000 Hispanic voters are looking at Joe Biden going, no, we are not interested in any part of this.
00:04:25.000 This is a full-on disaster for Joe Biden.
00:04:28.000 By the way, just a few months ago, he was up at 49% in that Quinnipiac poll.
00:04:33.000 And this Quinnipiac poll is reflective of other polling data that is out there.
00:04:38.000 Right now, Joe Biden is underwater in every single major poll.
00:04:43.000 There is no poll in which Joe Biden has a positive approval rating.
00:04:47.000 That's because he's a very, very bad president.
00:04:50.000 I'm looking at the RealClearPolitics polling average right now.
00:04:53.000 Right now, he is on average 11 points underwater.
00:04:57.000 42% approve, 53% disapprove.
00:05:01.000 Here are the numbers from a variety of polls over the course of the last couple of weeks, since the beginning of January.
00:05:07.000 In Reuters, he's got a 45% approval rating.
00:05:10.000 IBD, 44%.
00:05:11.000 Economist, 45%.
00:05:13.000 Rasmussen, 40.
00:05:14.000 Politico, 44.
00:05:16.000 Quinnipiac, 35.
00:05:17.000 And that's among registered voters.
00:05:18.000 If you go to all voters, it's lower than that.
00:05:22.000 So this guy is in serious, serious trouble, obviously.
00:05:25.000 And he should be in serious trouble because he's bad at this.
00:05:27.000 When 7 in 10 Americans agree on anything, that is a bad piece of data for the President of the United States.
00:05:32.000 And remember, this guy had a 60% approval rating when he entered office.
00:05:36.000 He was not like Trump, who started off at 47% and remained at 47% and then bounced between like 47 and 35.
00:05:41.000 Joe Biden was up at 60 and somehow blew it all the way down to the low 30s.
00:05:47.000 It's almost impossible to do that.
00:05:48.000 You know how bad you have to be at this job in order to do that?
00:05:51.000 This means that by poll metrics, he is easily one of the worst presidents in American history and we're about a year in.
00:06:00.000 Which is crazy.
00:06:01.000 It also means that Joe Biden now has the necessity To try and pretend that it's all because Republicans are evil and terrible and no good and very bad.
00:06:11.000 We'll get to that in just one moment because that is the new program.
00:06:14.000 Devil goes down to Georgia.
00:06:15.000 Joe Biden went down to Georgia and castigated all of his political opponents as worshipers of slavery.
00:06:22.000 Which is a hot take when 7 in 10 Americans think you suck.
00:06:25.000 It's a hot take that 7 in 10 Americans are actually pro-slavery.
00:06:28.000 Apparently, including 27% of black people.
00:06:30.000 So that's a unique one.
00:06:31.000 We'll get to that in just one moment first.
00:06:33.000 If you've been thinking about refinancing your mortgage, now would be an excellent time to do so.
00:06:36.000 Because at some point in the near future, the Federal Reserve is going to increase interest rates.
00:06:39.000 This is going to have an impact on mortgage rates as well.
00:06:42.000 Timing the market, it can be a dangerous game.
00:06:44.000 So if you're holding off on a mortgage refi in the hopes that the rates are going to drop, You might want to rethink that position, like, right now.
00:06:50.000 I mean, the latest forecast projects a few interest rate hikes this year alone.
00:06:53.000 The first increase could come in the next month, making now a great time to call my friends over at American Financing.
00:06:58.000 Take advantage of a free, no-obligation mortgage review.
00:07:01.000 You will learn about custom loan options that can save you up to $1,000 a month.
00:07:05.000 That's correct.
00:07:06.000 From lower rates to shorter terms, even debt consolidation, they can do it all, and they never charge upfront or hidden fees.
00:07:06.000 Every month.
00:07:11.000 So, why not see what they can do for you?
00:07:13.000 If you like what you hear, you can pre-qualify for free, possibly skip two mortgage payments, and you might close in as fast as 10 days.
00:07:19.000 Just call 866-721-3300.
00:07:19.000 Or, visit AmericanFinancing.net.
00:07:19.000 That is 866-721-3300.
00:07:21.000 NMLSConsumerAccess.org.
00:07:21.000 That is 866-721-3300 or visit AmericanFinancing.net, NMLS182334, NMLSconsumeraccess.org.
00:07:21.000 NMLS 182334.
00:07:30.000 Go check them out right now at AmericanFinancing.net.
00:07:34.000 With Joe Biden flailing around like this, and with his electoral prospects looking ever dimmer, this means that he has to activate the break glass argument.
00:07:43.000 The break glass argument for Democrats, always and forever, is that Republicans are terrible and racist.
00:07:47.000 This is always the break glass argument.
00:07:49.000 So Joe Biden, Yesterday, he went down to Georgia looking for a poll to steal.
00:07:54.000 He was in a bind because he was way behind.
00:07:56.000 He and Manchin couldn't make a deal.
00:07:58.000 So Joe Biden goes down to Georgia and he then proceeds to explain that anyone who disagrees with him on his garbage voting, quote unquote, voting rights bill, it's not a voting rights bill.
00:08:08.000 It is a voting rigging bill.
00:08:09.000 If anybody opposes this, it's because they're on the side of George Wallace and Bull Connor and Jefferson Davis, which is a weird thing to say if you are Joe Biden who actually served in the Senate.
00:08:18.000 With George Wallace, and had some praise for him at the time.
00:08:22.000 Here is Joe Biden.
00:08:23.000 I ask every elected official in America, how do you want to be remembered?
00:08:29.000 At consequential moments in history, they present a choice.
00:08:34.000 Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace?
00:08:40.000 Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor?
00:08:45.000 Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?
00:08:49.000 This is the moment to decide.
00:08:52.000 This right now is the moment to decide whether you're on the side of Jefferson Davis.
00:08:55.000 Not like 1865 when three quarters of a million Americans died in battle to decide the question.
00:09:01.000 Now, 2022 is when you have to decide whether you're on the side of Jefferson Davis.
00:09:05.000 And the way that you decide that is by giving an 80-year-old decrepit white corrupt man the power to rig voting in the United States.
00:09:10.000 That's the way that this must be done.
00:09:13.000 This has become the Democratic go-to argument.
00:09:16.000 It is astonishing.
00:09:18.000 One of the things that people are neglecting about some of these polling data with regard to Biden is that Hispanics represent about 19% of the American population.
00:09:26.000 Black Americans represent about 13% of the American population.
00:09:29.000 And yet Democrats made the calculation over the past couple of years that the only voter metric that matters is black turnout and how the black vote goes.
00:09:35.000 That is absolutely incorrect.
00:09:36.000 Hispanic votes are changing and they are changing very, very quickly.
00:09:39.000 To the point that Roy Teixeira, who used to write for New American Century and wrote an entire book at the beginning of the 2000s talking about how the new demographic minority majority would end Republican dominance of politics.
00:09:51.000 He's now suggested that that is completely wrong.
00:09:54.000 He's disowned his own theory.
00:09:56.000 He said just a few weeks ago that if Hispanics start to vote in even somewhat decent numbers for Republicans, Democrats have a world of hurt on their hands.
00:10:04.000 And yet Democrats have not focused one iota on Hispanic voters.
00:10:09.000 Their only pitch to Hispanic voters seems to be illegal immigration, but it turns out a huge number of Hispanic voters are not all that interested in illegal immigration.
00:10:15.000 And no matter how many times you say, Latinx, it's not going to be a thing.
00:10:20.000 Joe Biden has nothing to offer Hispanic voters, and so they are turning wildly against him.
00:10:23.000 And so he keeps doubling down on this idea that if you oppose him, it must be because you hate Black people.
00:10:27.000 That's not going to win over Hispanic voters, or White voters, or Asian voters, or by the way, even a lot of Black voters, who are not falling for this trick again.
00:10:34.000 But they just have to keep pushing this.
00:10:36.000 They have to.
00:10:37.000 It's a much more dangerous argument, by the way, than even the argument that Trump was making in 2020.
00:10:41.000 An argument I opposed, which was that the 2020 election was decided by electoral fraud.
00:10:45.000 I don't think the 2020 election was decided by electoral fraud.
00:10:48.000 As I've said many, many times, The 2020 election was rigged only from the perspective that the media intervened in the election in corrupt, terrible ways.
00:10:57.000 That the media suppressed information in the last month of the election cycle.
00:10:59.000 That they reported lies over and over about Trump and Russia for four long years.
00:11:05.000 That they refused to focus in on anything remotely resembling Joe Biden's policy.
00:11:09.000 They refused to ask him difficult questions.
00:11:11.000 Social media cut you down at the knees.
00:11:13.000 If you asked any questions about Chinese lab leaks in the middle of the election, or if you had questions about Hunter Biden's laptop, like all of this stuff was suppressed.
00:11:20.000 So in that sense, there was a rigging that went on.
00:11:22.000 And in the sense that there were certain voter procedures that were put in place that loosened voting to an extraordinary extent and made early voting a thing.
00:11:31.000 So early voting is corrupt just by its nature because the fact of the matter is you shouldn't be voting two months in advance of an election.
00:11:36.000 Stuff happens.
00:11:38.000 Things change.
00:11:39.000 We should all be voting as close to election day as possible.
00:11:42.000 We changed all of that because of COVID.
00:11:43.000 In some cases, that happened without the dint of law.
00:11:47.000 That's what happened in Pennsylvania.
00:11:48.000 However, does that mean that there were hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes cast and that decided the election?
00:11:53.000 Okay, so that was Trump's suggestion, is that the election results were no good.
00:11:53.000 No.
00:12:00.000 Joe Biden is now making that argument about every election result for the rest of time.
00:12:04.000 He is saying that if he does not get his voting law passed, that means every election for all time, every election is corrupt.
00:12:13.000 You know how insane that argument is?
00:12:14.000 And yet the media don't seem bothered by that argument.
00:12:16.000 And it's not just Joe Biden making that argument.
00:12:18.000 It's Hakeem Jeffries.
00:12:18.000 So Nancy Pelosi is probably on her way out.
00:12:20.000 She's going to lose the House speakership in November by all available polls.
00:12:25.000 And then she's probably going to retire because she doesn't want to be minority leader.
00:12:27.000 Hakeem Jeffries is one of the possible replacements for her.
00:12:31.000 He is a radical congressperson from New York's 8th district.
00:12:34.000 And here he was yesterday suggesting that we have to kill the filibuster and change all voting law in the United States because of voter suppression.
00:12:42.000 This theory that there is widespread voter suppression in the United States is conspiratorial nonsense.
00:12:46.000 It is no less conspiratorial than the argument that hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes were cast in 2020.
00:12:50.000 The theory of voter suppression is a lie.
00:12:55.000 I challenge Democrats to show me one person who is prevented from voting who should have been able to vote in the last election cycle.
00:13:02.000 Give me a name.
00:13:02.000 One.
00:13:03.000 Like, one name.
00:13:04.000 That's all I'm asking for.
00:13:06.000 But here's Hakeem Jeffries pushing this nonsense.
00:13:08.000 The voter suppression epidemic that has been unleashed by the radical right is unacceptable, unreasonable, unfathomable, unconscionable, and un-American.
00:13:22.000 We must crush it.
00:13:24.000 And we will crush it.
00:13:26.000 That is why it's essential, it's important, it's necessary, with the fierce urgency of now, to pass the Joe Manchin Freedom to Vote Act and the John Robert Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
00:13:46.000 By any means necessary.
00:13:49.000 Including reforming a filibuster rule that is dripping in racist history in defense of slavery.
00:13:59.000 It's fun that the filibuster is now racist again.
00:14:01.000 So when Joe Biden was using it for literally 30 years of his career, it was not racist.
00:14:04.000 It was good.
00:14:06.000 And when Barack Obama used it as a Senator, it wasn't racist.
00:14:08.000 It was good.
00:14:09.000 And when Democrats were using it literally two years ago when they didn't run the Senate, then it was very good.
00:14:14.000 Now it's bad again.
00:14:15.000 Also, I'm just, I will never, I will never understand why people feel the necessity to go to the thesaurus in order to, in order to drive home their point.
00:14:24.000 It's unconscionable, it's unfathomable, it's unethical, uncivilized, unjust, unreasonable, unfair!
00:14:28.000 I mean, my God, it's unprincipled, unscrupulous, ungodly, undue, unholy!
00:14:34.000 Or, I could just say one word, because we knew what you meant, and it was a lie the first time.
00:14:38.000 It's not just Hakeem Jeffries.
00:14:40.000 It's Chuck Schumer.
00:14:41.000 So the Senate Majority Leader, very temporary Senate Majority Leader, who, by the way, cannot run the Senate.
00:14:46.000 Right now, he's running one campaign and one campaign only, and that is to prevent Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez from primarying him in the New York Senate race.
00:14:55.000 It's not gonna stop her.
00:14:56.000 If she wants to primary him, she'll primary him.
00:14:58.000 And nothing he does is going to stop her.
00:14:59.000 Here is Chuck Schumer blasting Georgia's voting law as voter suppression.
00:15:03.000 Even though, by the way, Georgia's voting law provides for more early voting than New York's does.
00:15:08.000 What motivated the insurrectionists is now motivating the state legislature to do dastardly things.
00:15:14.000 This idea that there is no change or that this isn't voter suppression.
00:15:18.000 They tried to have one voting place in the whole county of Milwaukee, a million people.
00:15:22.000 They're telling people that in Georgia, where there are much longer lines in African American precincts than in white precincts, that it's a crime to serve water or a sandwich.
00:15:35.000 Greatly restricting or eliminating early voting, saying only one early voting place in our entire county where you have to travel 23 miles.
00:15:44.000 It goes on and on and on.
00:15:47.000 Okay, all of that is not true, by the way.
00:15:49.000 No one is preventing anybody from drinking or eating in the lines of the voting place.
00:15:52.000 And by the way, are we such a fat country that you can't wait in line for an hour without having a snack?
00:15:57.000 Seriously, who are these people who are starving to death in the lines of voting in Georgia?
00:16:01.000 But put that aside.
00:16:02.000 That also happens not to be the law.
00:16:04.000 So this is Chuck Schumer's argument, and it's an absurd, silly argument.
00:16:07.000 It is also mirrored by Barack Obama.
00:16:09.000 One of the things that's amazing here about Barack Obama, as we'll get to in a second, is that Barack Obama is truly a person who believes that his influence is fungible.
00:16:17.000 It is not fungible.
00:16:17.000 It is non-transferable.
00:16:19.000 His political capital is non-transferable.
00:16:21.000 It belongs to him and him only.
00:16:23.000 Get to more on this in just one second.
00:16:24.000 First, you're spending too much money on gas.
00:16:26.000 How do I know?
00:16:26.000 Well, because everybody right now is spending too much money on gas, unless they are using GetUpside.
00:16:31.000 GetUpside is the free app that I have told you about.
00:16:33.000 It is available from the App Store or Google Play.
00:16:35.000 Go get that free GetUpside app.
00:16:37.000 And my listeners are now making up to 25 cents for every gallon of gas every time they fill up.

00:16:44.000 That's up to $0.50 cash back.

00:17:03.000 You can cash out anytime to your bank account, PayPal, or an e-gift card for Amazon and other brands.
00:17:07.000 Just download that free GetUpside app.

00:17:17.000 Get that free GetUpside app.
00:17:18.000 Again, it's available at the App Store or Google Play right this very moment.
00:17:22.000 And use promo code SHAPIRO to get $0.25 per gallon on your first fill up, plus another $0.25 per gallon on that first fill up.
00:17:29.000 So, former President Barack Obama, of course, he is attempting to I would say inject some life into Joe Biden's White House and it's not going to work.
00:17:37.000 Political capital is not fungible.
00:17:39.000 It is non-transferable.
00:17:40.000 If you are a politician with political capital, you cannot use that to get unpopular politicians elected.
00:17:45.000 It just does not work that way.
00:17:47.000 As a general rule, you might have coattails if you're on the same ballot.
00:17:50.000 But Barack Obama endorsing candidates has never meant a damn thing.
00:17:53.000 It does not mean anything.
00:17:54.000 And so when he starts writing op-eds, this is his first op-ed apparently since leaving the White House.
00:17:59.000 When Barack Obama starts writing op-eds about issues like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act or whatever it is, that's going to mean absolutely nothing.
00:18:08.000 And of course, he's telling the same lies.
00:18:10.000 He says, while the American people turned out to vote at the highest rate in a century in the last presidential election, members of one of our two political parties, spurred on by the then sitting president, denied the results of that election and spun conspiracy theories that drove a violent mob to attack our Capitol.
00:18:23.000 Although initially rejected by many Republicans, those claims continued to be amplified by conservative media outlets, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:18:30.000 OK, and then he gets to his point.
00:18:32.000 Meanwhile, state legislators in 49 states have introduced more than 400 bills designed to suppress votes.
00:18:38.000 Are they designed to suppress votes?
00:18:38.000 Oh really?
00:18:40.000 All of them?
00:18:40.000 Does it suppress votes when you say that we shouldn't just have like pandemic era restrictions on voting?
00:18:45.000 That we shouldn't have drop boxes on every telephone pole?
00:18:50.000 That perhaps it's a bad idea not to have voter ID?
00:18:52.000 Is that voter suppression?
00:18:53.000 When you define voter suppression as any form of voting law, it turns out it's all voter suppression.
00:18:59.000 I have a question.
00:18:59.000 Why really?
00:19:00.000 Are none of them capable of getting ID?
00:19:01.000 seen before. Legislation that would discourage voters, including racial minorities, low-income voters, young people, from casting a ballot. Weird, why are all those people incapable of casting a ballot? Why, really? I have a question. Are none of them capable of getting ID? Because every single one of them has ID. You need ID to vote.
00:19:18.000 to drive a car?
00:19:19.000 You now need I.D.
00:19:19.000 in order to, like, show your face in Washington, D.C.
00:19:22.000 I mean, Muriel Bowser put out a notice yesterday that before you go out, you need to bring your VAX card as well as your I.D.
00:19:29.000 So to go into a restaurant, you need to show your I.D.
00:19:31.000 in Washington, D.C., but not to vote if Democrats had their way.
00:19:35.000 Now, Barack Obama says others aim to treat certain polling locations different, like creating one set of rules for voters living in cities and another set for people living in more conservative rural areas.
00:19:45.000 We're also seeing more aggressive attempts to gerrymander congressional districts.
00:19:48.000 Weird, because Cook Politicals suggests that the gerrymandering has been going so poorly for Republicans that actually Democrats have added more seats to Congress for themselves than Republicans have in this election cycle.
00:20:00.000 But, says Barack Obama, Finally, and perhaps most perniciously, we've seen state legislatures try to assert power over core election processes, including the ability to certify election results.
00:20:11.000 These partisan attempts at voter nullification are unlike anything we've ever seen in modern times.
00:20:15.000 So here is the problem with that.
00:20:18.000 Republicans have offered in the Senate to vote along with Democrats to adjust the Electoral Counts Act.
00:20:24.000 This would prevent failures of certification in states.
00:20:27.000 It would prevent alternative slates of electors from being put forward by states without proper evidence.
00:20:32.000 Democrats have rejected this bipartisan compromise because they just want to campaign on the idea that Republicans are in widespread fashion suppressing the vote.
00:20:42.000 So Barack Obama tries to pretend that we have to get rid of the filibuster in order to do this.
00:20:45.000 This is his key.
00:20:46.000 He says, The filibuster has no basis in the Constitution.
00:20:49.000 Historically, the parliamentary tactic was used sparingly, most notably by Southern senators, to block civil rights legislation and prop up Jim Crow.
00:20:56.000 In recent years, the filibuster became a routine way for the Senate minority to block important progress on issues supported by the majority of voters.
00:21:05.000 But we cannot allow it to be used to block efforts to protect our democracy.
00:21:09.000 So he's saying, let's protect our democratic institutions by passing a federalization of all voting procedure and also by getting rid of the filibuster.
00:21:19.000 Let us destroy the institutions of the Republic in order to save democracy, is the pitch that Joe Biden is making.
00:21:24.000 See, when you're unpopular, there are a couple of ways to fight this.
00:21:27.000 One is to become more popular by pursuing popular policies.
00:21:29.000 The other is to rig the rules.
00:21:31.000 Democrats have decided on the latter.
00:21:32.000 So, Republicans are responding to Joe Biden's desperate attempt to swivel away from his failing presidency by calling everybody a racist.
00:21:39.000 Mitch McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader, soon to be Majority Leader, again, he blasted Joe Biden in fiery language from the floor of the Senate.
00:21:47.000 Here was the Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
00:21:50.000 He compared, listen to this, a bipartisan majority of senators to literal traitors.
00:22:00.000 How profoundly, profoundly unprecedented.
00:22:08.000 Look, I've known, liked, and personally respected Joe Biden for many years.
00:22:17.000 I did not recognize The man at the podium yesterday.
00:22:23.000 Okay, so first of all, Mitch McConnell should recognize the man at the podium yesterday because that guy's been in the Senate saying the same sort of stupid crap for 30 years.
00:22:30.000 I mean, this is a guy who said in 2012, while he was vice president, that Mitt Romney, the unsweetened oatmeal of politics, Mitt Romney was a man so racist that he would put black people back into chains if he was elected president of the United States.
00:22:44.000 Joe Biden is a congenital liar.
00:22:46.000 Joe Biden is a corrupt politician.
00:22:48.000 He has been his entire career.
00:22:50.000 And the sort of old boys club that is the Senate, where everybody is best friends, is really, really silly when it comes to people like Joe Biden.
00:22:55.000 Okay, Mitt Romney, for his part, he makes the point that Joe Biden is going down the same road that Trump did, right?
00:23:00.000 If you don't like Trump declaring that elections are questionable, then you shouldn't be in favor of Joe Biden saying that all elections are questionable unless he gets his way.
00:23:10.000 He said that the goal of some Republicans is to, quote, turn the will of the voters into a mere suggestion.
00:23:19.000 And so President Biden goes down the same tragic road taken by President Trump, casting doubt on the reliability of American elections.
00:23:31.000 This is a sad, sad day.
00:23:34.000 I expected more of President Biden.
00:23:38.000 Who came into office with the stated goal of bringing the country together.
00:23:43.000 And here's the thing about this that's amazing, of course.
00:23:46.000 Joe Biden is now calling on the Senate to get rid of the filibuster.
00:23:49.000 Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, they're not going to do that.
00:23:51.000 But you know who wouldn't have done that when he was in the Senate?
00:23:53.000 Joe Biden.
00:23:54.000 I mean, Joe Biden was literally asked about this during the 2020 election cycle.
00:23:58.000 He was asked, will you kill the filibuster?
00:23:59.000 And he's like, I don't think that's a good idea.
00:24:02.000 We should make no mistake.
00:24:05.000 This nuclear option is ultimately an example of the arrogance of power.
00:24:12.000 It is a fundamental power grab by the majority party.
00:24:17.000 Ending the filibuster is a very dangerous thing to do because it's been used by progressives our whole time to make sure that we did not get rolled over.
00:24:28.000 Okay, and it's not just Joe Biden who's been saying this.
00:24:30.000 Chuck Schumer, who's now all in favor of killing the filibuster for this voting rights nonsense, he opposed changing the filibuster like five minutes ago.
00:24:37.000 This is Chuck Schumer when he had a little bit more hair in 2005.
00:24:42.000 We are on the precipice of a crisis, a constitutional crisis.
00:24:47.000 The checks and balances which have been at the core of this republic are about to be evaporated by the nuclear option.
00:24:58.000 The checks and balances which say that if you get 51% of the vote, you don't get your way 100% of the time.
00:25:08.000 It is amazing.
00:25:09.000 It's almost a temper tantrum by those on the hard, hard right.
00:25:13.000 They want the judge, they want their way every single time.
00:25:18.000 And they will change the rules, break the rules, misread the constitution so that they will get their way.
00:25:27.000 Chuck Schumer should meet Chuck Schumer.
00:25:29.000 By the way, it's always fun to watch some of this old footage because you see people that you didn't realize were there.
00:25:33.000 That's Preet Bharara, the former district attorney in New York, who's sitting next to Chuck Schumer, used to be his chief legal counsel.
00:25:39.000 Anyway, it's a side note.
00:25:40.000 Tom Cotton, he's a senator from Arkansas.
00:25:42.000 He went further yesterday.
00:25:43.000 He went on the floor of the Senate.
00:25:43.000 He just read quotes by Chuck Schumer.
00:25:47.000 I will do everything I can to prevent the nuclear option from being invoked.
00:25:53.000 Not for the sake of myself or my party, but for the sake of this great republic and its traditions.
00:26:01.000 Those are powerful words, but they're not mine.
00:26:07.000 Every word of my speech today was originally spoken by our esteemed colleague, the senior senator from New York, Chuck Schumer.
00:26:20.000 Yeah, yeah, but consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.
00:26:24.000 Meanwhile, by the way, Dick Durbin, I mean, how bad is this?
00:26:26.000 Dick Durbin is the senator from Illinois.
00:26:28.000 Dick Durbin is a man so radical that he suggested in the middle of the Iraq war that holding terrorists at Gitmo was equivalent to Nazi concentration camps, Pol Pot's mistreatment of dissenters, and the Soviet gulag.
00:26:39.000 He had to apologize for that.
00:26:40.000 So Dick Durbin is no moderate.
00:26:42.000 Dick Durbin yesterday said, yeah, I think Joe Biden went a little far saying that everyone who opposes him is a confederate.
00:26:48.000 Yes, there are parallels there.
00:26:49.000 Perhaps the president went a little too far in his rhetoric.
00:26:52.000 Some of us do.
00:26:53.000 But the fundamental principles and values at stake are very, very similar.
00:26:58.000 No, they're not actually very similar at all.
00:27:01.000 Meanwhile, Jen Psaki, she dismissed criticism of Joe Biden.
00:27:05.000 She's like, all these people were fine with Trump.
00:27:06.000 Really?
00:27:07.000 Was Mitt Romney fine with Trump?
00:27:08.000 I missed that part.
00:27:09.000 There is Jen Psaki being Jen Psaki.
00:27:11.000 Senator Romney today basically said, I'll use the exact quote, that the speech yesterday that the President gave was, quote, going down the same tragic road taken by President Trump and casting the doubt on the reliability of American elections.
00:27:24.000 Does the White House have a response to that?
00:27:27.000 With all due respect to Senator Romney, I think anyone would note there's a night and day difference between fomenting an insurrection based on lies totally debunked by 80 judges The hell is she talking about?
00:27:39.000 Objective true statements?
00:27:40.000 You're right, it's just like Jefferson Davis.
00:27:42.000 objective true statements, which is what the president made yesterday about the effects of a coordinated nationwide effort to undermine the constitutional right to vote.
00:27:51.000 The hell is she talking about? Objective true statements?
00:27:53.000 You're right, it's just like Jefferson Davis. It's just like Bull Connor. These people are, they're insane.
00:27:59.000 Now, the reason they have to be insane is because if they re-enter the realm of sanity, they might be held to account for the fact that Joe Biden is a terrible, terrible president.
00:28:07.000 They have to escape that.
00:28:08.000 They have to escape the fact, and it's inescapable.
00:28:10.000 He is a terrible president, which is why 7 in 10 American voters now think he stinks.
00:28:15.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.
00:28:17.000 He stinks on COVID.
00:28:17.000 Because he does.
00:28:18.000 He stinks on the economy.
00:28:19.000 He's just garbage all the way around, and everyone now knows it.
00:28:21.000 We'll get to more on this in just one moment.
00:28:23.000 First, it's a brand new year, and that means you should be pledging to yourself not to waste your time waiting in lines when you don't have to.
00:28:29.000 This especially applies over at the auto parts store.
00:28:31.000 Here's the thing.
00:28:32.000 With the number of car makes and models there are out there, the chances that your local auto parts store is going to have exactly what you need really, really low.
00:28:39.000 They're going to just say, we can order this online, it'll take two weeks, and then we're going to upcharge you.
00:28:43.000 Or, you have a computer, and you can go to rockauto.com at home and in your pocket.
00:28:47.000 Why would you choose to spend 30%, 50%, 100% more for the exact same auto parts at a chain store or new car dealership?
00:28:54.000 For example, a Delphi FG1456 fuel pump assembly for a 2005 to 2010 Honda Odyssey?
00:28:58.000 It's $217 bucks at rockauto.com.
00:28:58.000 That's $354 bucks in advance.
00:29:03.000 RockAuto.com is a family business.
00:29:05.000 They've been serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:29:08.000 Head on over to RockAuto.com.
00:29:09.000 Shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:29:12.000 Their catalog is unique.
00:29:13.000 It's remarkably easy to navigate and you can quickly see all the parts available for your car and choose the brand's specifications and prices you prefer.
00:29:20.000 Amazing selection.
00:29:21.000 Reliably low prices.
00:29:22.000 All the parts your car will ever need.
00:29:23.000 RockAuto.com.
00:29:24.000 Head on over to RockAuto.com right now.
00:29:26.000 See all the parts available for your car or truck and write Shapiro in their How Did You Hear About Us box so they know that we sent you.
00:29:32.000 Alrighty, meanwhile, The administration is in a state of complete chaos with regard to Omicron.
00:29:37.000 Because again, they've boxed themselves in.
00:29:38.000 They do not know how to get out of this box they've created for themselves.
00:29:41.000 Now again, they are in a position.
00:29:43.000 I've never seen an administration step on its own junk this way.
00:29:46.000 It's truly astonishing.
00:29:48.000 Just every other step is either on a rake or their own junk.
00:29:51.000 That's all they step on.
00:29:52.000 Or a landmine.
00:29:53.000 Those are the three rakes, own junk, landmines.
00:29:56.000 That's all this administration does.
00:29:57.000 They just step on those three things over and over and over.
00:30:01.000 A bad Simpsons cartoon.
00:30:02.000 Because here's the thing.
00:30:05.000 They were handed a recovery.
00:30:06.000 And they blew it, as we'll get to.
00:30:08.000 They were handed a vaccine and distribution plan.
00:30:13.000 Which allowed everybody to get back to normal.
00:30:15.000 And they absolutely blew it.
00:30:16.000 And they continue to blow it.
00:30:18.000 Because they set up an expectation that is just faulty.
00:30:20.000 I've been saying this since March of 2020.
00:30:22.000 Since March of 2020, I've been saying there's only so much government can do.
00:30:25.000 And Democrats have been saying, no, no, no.
00:30:26.000 Government can do everything.
00:30:28.000 Government can control every aspect of your life and save you all.
00:30:31.000 Well, the answer, of course, is that that's not true.
00:30:34.000 It turns out that Florida, which took directly opposite policies of California, for example, Florida shielded the elderly, and tranched out the vaccines to the elderly first, and made sure everybody had the opportunity to get a vaccine, and then let everybody go about their business.
00:30:49.000 Florida's death per millions ratio, their death per 100,000 ratio, when adjusted for age, because Florida is a much older state than California, Florida's death per 100,000 ratio, as of January 6th, 2022, is 228.7.
00:30:59.000 ratio as of January 6, 2022 is 228.7. Californians is 219.8.
00:31:06.000 Okay, so they're very, very close in terms of their actual death per 100,000 ratio.
00:31:12.000 And California has been locked down since March of 2020.
00:31:14.000 Right?
00:31:15.000 Since before I even left the state.
00:31:17.000 And Democrats can't let go of this.
00:31:19.000 Because if we lived in a normal world where we all followed the data, we would now be done.
00:31:19.000 They can't let go of this.
00:31:24.000 The data demonstrate Omicron is not killing lots of people.
00:31:28.000 It is not.
00:31:30.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, the Omicron variant accounted for 98% of COVID-19 cases in the United States last week, based on estimates released by the U.S.
00:31:38.000 CDC.
00:31:39.000 The variant has fueled a rapid rise in infections since reaching the U.S.
00:31:42.000 late last year, surpassing surges associated with earlier versions of the virus and almost eliminating Delta.
00:31:48.000 So far, the rate of hospitalization associated with Omicrons has not appeared to be as high as with the prior variants.
00:31:55.000 The sheer number of Omicron cases has led to the seven-day average of new hospital patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases running above last January's record highs.
00:32:03.000 However, the period of time that people are actually in the hospital is much, much lower.
00:32:08.000 ICU stays remain significantly below the level of Delta.
00:32:14.000 ICU patients are way below the level of Delta, even though cases are now like triple, quadruple, quintuple the Delta cases that we had last year.
00:32:24.000 And yet we're supposed to freak, we're supposed to freak out.
00:32:26.000 I don't understand this.
00:32:27.000 Now, reality is beginning to sink in, I think, for some members of the Democratic administration.
00:32:32.000 They're beginning to admit things that they weren't allowed to admit just a few weeks ago.
00:32:36.000 So for example, yesterday, Rochelle Walensky, reality just clocked her in the face.
00:32:40.000 She tweeted this out, quote, study on severity of those infected with the Omicron variant compared to Delta.
00:32:47.000 53% less risk of symptomatic hospitalization.
00:32:49.000 74% less risk of ICU admission.
00:32:54.000 91% less risk of death.
00:32:56.000 Zero Omicron patients required mechanical ventilation.
00:33:01.000 Hey, those are the data from Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, which is the chain my wife used to work for.
00:33:06.000 Hey, those stats are stunning.
00:33:09.000 91% reduction in risk of mortality from Delta.
00:33:13.000 Well, Delta post-vaccination had already an infection fatality rate on the level of the flu.
00:33:20.000 If you have a 91% reduction in the risk of mortality from Delta, if I could give you a vaccine that gave you a 90% reduction in the risk of mortality from Delta, you would consider this a miracle.
00:33:28.000 Omicron is that.
00:33:29.000 It gives you natural immunity with a 90% reduction in risk of mortality according to this study from Kaiser Permanente.
00:33:36.000 And they don't know what to do about this.
00:33:38.000 They don't know that they should just declare the pandemic over and be done.
00:33:42.000 They can't.
00:33:42.000 They can't just say it's endemic.
00:33:44.000 Everybody's gonna get Omicron.
00:33:45.000 Get over it.
00:33:48.000 Instead, Rochelle Walensky also tweets, While less severe, Omicron is much more transmissible.
00:33:52.000 We are seeing the unprecedented impact.
00:33:54.000 Over 1 million cases in a day, 99% of counties with high transmission and strained healthcare systems protect against COVID-19, get vaccinated and boosted, wear a mask, and stay home if sick.
00:34:05.000 No.
00:34:06.000 Okay, no.
00:34:07.000 The reason no is because, think about this logically.
00:34:11.000 If you have the choice between getting Omicron, right, you're vaccinated, you're not gonna die from this thing.
00:34:15.000 You have the choice between getting Omicron and getting another variant, an unspecified variant we don't know in the future.
00:34:20.000 Wouldn't you rather have Omicron?
00:34:23.000 Let's say you mask up and you prevent yourself from getting Omicron and thereby you avoid the natural immunity associated with getting COVID in the first place.
00:34:31.000 What have you achieved exactly?
00:34:33.000 It doesn't mean you're going to avoid COVID forever.
00:34:34.000 You will get a form of COVID.
00:34:36.000 The only question is, do you get this form of COVID, which is super not deadly, according to Rochelle Walensky and Kaiser Permanente, or do you get a future form of COVID, which could be significantly more deadly?
00:34:44.000 We don't know.
00:34:45.000 Theoretically, it could reverse itself.
00:34:48.000 But they just can't let go.
00:34:49.000 They can't let go.
00:34:51.000 So they're in this chaotic situation in which they want to let go, but they can't.
00:34:55.000 And the media are in the same situation, according to the Associated Press.
00:34:58.000 For two years, coronavirus case counts and hospitalizations have been widely used barometers of the pandemic's march across the world.
00:35:04.000 But the Omicron wave is making a mess of the usual stats, forcing news organizations to rethink the way they report such figures.
00:35:10.000 Now, some of us pointed out that really we should be worried about ICUs and deaths.
00:35:14.000 I pointed that out, I believe, in March or April of 2020.
00:35:16.000 The case counts don't matter.
00:35:18.000 What matters is how many people are getting super sick and dying.
00:35:20.000 Which is why I never cared if a bunch of 20-year-olds got the original variant.
00:35:24.000 Because 20-year-olds were not dying of this in large numbers.
00:35:28.000 It's just a data disaster, said Catherine Wu, staff writer who covers COVID-19 for The Atlantic.
00:35:33.000 The number of case counts soared over the holidays and expected development given the emergence of a variant more transmissible than its predecessors.
00:35:39.000 Yet these counts only reflect what is reported by health authorities.
00:35:42.000 They do not include most people who test themselves at home or are infected without even knowing about it.
00:35:46.000 Holidays and weekends also lead to lags in reported cases.
00:35:49.000 By the way, there's a huge number of Americans who have Omicron who aren't testing for Omicron.
00:35:53.000 Because they're going to get over it and be done.
00:35:55.000 If you could add all of those numbers up, case counts would likely be substantially higher.
00:35:59.000 For that reason, AP has now told its editors and reporters to avoid emphasizing case counts in stories about the disease.
00:36:05.000 Weird.
00:36:05.000 Why?
00:36:06.000 Could that have to do with the fact that Joe Biden is president now and the case counts are extraordinarily high?
00:36:11.000 They didn't mind reporting case counts in a running ticker on CNN.
00:36:15.000 Every day.
00:36:16.000 While Trump was president, now Biden's president, and got really bad case counts, you gotta stop reporting the case counts.
00:36:21.000 Listen, I'm glad they stopped reporting the case counts because the case count is a stupid metric.
00:36:25.000 I'm just pointing out it was always a stupid metric.
00:36:28.000 According to the Associated Press, no more stories focused solely on a particular country or state setting a one-day record for number of cases because that claim has become unreliable.
00:36:38.000 Throughout the media, there has now been more caution in the use of official case counts.
00:36:41.000 An NBC News story on Monday about the skyrocketing number of COVID cases relied on a one-week average of case counts.
00:36:47.000 A Tuesday story simply referred to a tidal wave of cases.
00:36:51.000 The Washington Post used a seven-day average of cases compared that number to last Tuesday's showing a 56% increase.
00:36:58.000 However, a huge number of these stories are now pointing out that you don't actually use case rates anymore.
00:37:05.000 Even the usefulness of hospitalization and death rates has been called into question in recent days, according to the AP.
00:37:10.000 In many cases, hospitalizations are incidental.
00:37:13.000 People are being admitted for other reasons and are surprised to find they test positive for COVID, said Tanya Lewis, Senior Editor for Health and Medicine at Scientific American.
00:37:21.000 Again, it's amazing.
00:37:22.000 So just when it becomes inconvenient to count cases and hospitalizations and deaths, That's precisely when the media changes its reporting.
00:37:31.000 Meanwhile, by the way, Anthony Fauci is now admitting, we're all going to get Omicron, so the next sentence out of his mouth should be, get over it, move on with your life.
00:37:36.000 But he will never say that, because then he would be irrelevant again and no one would care about him.
00:37:41.000 Sooner or later, as we begin to live with it, what she was referring to is that virtually everybody is going to wind up getting exposed and likely get infected.
00:37:50.000 But if you're vaccinated and if you're boosted, the chances of you getting sick are very, very low.
00:37:57.000 Okay, well, I mean, that's true.
00:37:59.000 If you're vaccinated, you will not die from COVID-19.
00:38:03.000 This is just true basically from the advent of the vaccines.
00:38:06.000 And if you're not unvaccinated, that's your choice and we can all move on with our lives because we're all passing this to one another, vaccinated or unvaccinated, but they just, they can't let go because Joe Biden's a bad president.

00:41:09.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S.
00:41:11.000 inflation at its fastest pace in nearly four decades last year, as pandemic-related supply and demand imbalances, along with stimulus intended to shore up the economy, pushed prices up at a 7% annualized rate.
00:41:21.000 The Labor Department said Wednesday the Consumer Price Index rose 7% in December from the same month a year earlier, up from 6.8% in November.
00:41:30.000 The so-called Core Price Index, which excludes food and energy, climbed 5.5% in December from a year earlier, which was a bigger increase than November's 4.9% rise, the highest rate since 1991.

00:42:02.000 in 2021. So you got a pay cut in 2021.
00:42:05.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, it's important to understand what a policy and intellectual failure this inflation represents for Keynesians who are in charge of current economic policy.
00:42:16.000 The Biden administration and Federal Reserve flooded the economy with money in 2021, even as the recovery from the COVID recession was over.
00:42:23.000 Fed Chairman Jerome Powell became a cheerleader for the $1.9 trillion March spending spree, on top of about $4 trillion in COVID relief Congress spent in 2020.
00:42:31.000 The central bank also declined to withdraw its extraordinary monetary support, despite clear signs of incipient inflation.
00:42:37.000 When critics began to warn of excess monetary growth and price increases, the sages at the Fed and White House dismissed it as transitory.
00:42:44.000 That failure is reminiscent of the 70s, when Keynesians also ran the economy, but had no explanation for the inflation that took off, or for the stagflation that later set in as that awful decade rolled on.
00:42:54.000 They blamed corporations, they rolled out Whip Inflation Now buttons, and imposed price controls.
00:42:59.000 Only at the end of the decade, after inflation became a political liability for Democrats, did Jimmy Carter appoint Paul Volcker to the Fed.

00:43:07.000 He said today's report, which shows a meaningful reduction in headline inflation over last month, with gas prices and food prices falling, demonstrates we are making progress in slowing the rate of price increases.
00:43:17.000 But actually, core prices without food and energy increased from the pace of the previous month.
