00:00:00.000 Chuck Schumer dances as Americans are stuck in Kabul.
00:00:03.000 The Biden administration has no good answers to just why Joe Biden is disconnected from reality.
00:00:07.000 And ISIS is on the rise again.
00:00:09.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:09.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:10.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.
00:00:18.000 Stand up for your digital rights.
00:00:19.000 Take action at ExpressVPN.com.
00:00:22.000 Slash Ben.
00:00:22.000 We'll get to all the news in just one moment.
00:00:24.000 There's a lot of it.
00:00:25.000 None of it is good.
00:00:26.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:00:27.000 First, take a look at your cell phone bill.
00:00:29.000 If you're with Verizon or AT&T or T-Mobile, you're paying too much.
00:00:32.000 It's time to switch over to PeerTalk.
00:00:34.000 PeerTalk can save your family over $800 a year.
00:00:36.000 It's a lot of money.
00:00:37.000 Got the same great coverage, because Pure Talk is on the exact same network as one of the big three, but at a fraction of the price.
00:00:43.000 And switching is super easy.
00:00:45.000 All you have to do is switch out your SIM card.
00:00:46.000 You can keep your phone, keep your number, or get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids.
00:00:51.000 Plus, right now, you can get unlimited talk text and six gigs of data for just $30 a month.
00:00:55.000 And if you go over on the data, they're not going to charge you for it.
00:00:58.000 There's a reason Pure Talk is the highest rated wireless company by Consumer Affairs, and why they are the preferred wireless partner of AMAC.
00:01:05.000 Right now, You should switch over your coverage because you could be saving yourself a lot of money.
00:01:09.000 Plus, if from your cell phone you do this, you dial pound 250 and say my name Ben Shapiro, you will save an additional 50% off your very first month.
00:01:16.000 You're already saving a lot of money and 50% off your first month when you go to pound 250 on your phone and say Ben Shapiro to get started with my friends over at Pure Talk USA.
00:01:26.000 Save yourself hundreds of dollars a year.
00:01:28.000 Pure Talk USA, dial pound 250, say my name Ben Shapiro to get started.
00:01:32.000 Alrighty, so.
00:01:34.000 Apparently, the leadership of the Democratic Party, they just don't care very much.
00:01:38.000 I'm not sure how else to read their activities this weekend.
00:01:41.000 You had Nancy Pelosi off in Napa Valley dining with the DCCC, and you had Chuck Schumer dancing it up with Stephen Colbert in New York City.
00:01:50.000 This is kind of an astonishing tape, given the fact that there are currently thousands of American citizens stuck in Kabul, and the Senate Majority Leader is dancing it up with Stephen Colbert, according to the New York Post.
00:02:00.000 Senator Chuck Schumer was ripped on Twitter for dancing with Stephen Colbert backstage at the We Love NYC concert amid the ongoing catastrophe in Afghanistan.
00:02:07.000 And as the coronavirus pandemic continues to surge across the U.S., backstage antics wrote Mayor de Blasio's Press Secretary Bill Neihart in a Twitter posting on Saturday, before the star-studded concert in Central Park was abruptly canceled because of storms and lightning.
00:02:20.000 Generated by Hurricane Henri.
00:02:24.000 God was like, no!
00:02:26.000 And thus was the We Love NYC celebration cancelled.
00:02:30.000 Here is a little bit of some incredibly awkward dancing between the Senate Majority Leader and a man who used to be funny at one point, Stephen Colbert.
00:02:37.000 Although it's been a long time, it's hard to remember, I know.
00:02:43.000 Here comes Stephen Colbert.
00:02:48.000 It's just a disaster area.
00:02:50.000 Not just the dancing.
00:02:51.000 Not just the dancing.
00:02:52.000 Backstage, between Stephen Colbert, whose job it is to target politicians, and Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader.
00:03:01.000 It's wonderful, wonderful stuff happening.
00:03:03.000 Meanwhile, thousands of Americans are still stuck in Kabul with no way out.
00:03:07.000 And now, the Taliban are openly mocking us.
00:03:11.000 So, they put up a photo of their guys raising a Taliban flag in the same exact formation as the Marines on Iwo Jima in World War II.
00:03:22.000 According to the Marine Corps Times, in one particular image released this week, members of the Taliban Badri 313 Battalion appeared to mock Joe Rosenthal's iconic 1945 image of the flag raised atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
00:03:35.000 In the Taliban image, fighters belonging to Badri 313, which some are calling the Taliban's elite commando unit, are shown wearing full camouflage uniforms, combat boots, tactical gear, and night vision goggles.
00:03:44.000 Similar photographs released in recent days show Taliban fighters carrying weapons and equipment issued by the United States or allied nations, including M4 carbines and what appear to be Trijicon Advanced Combat Optical Gun Sights, or ACOGs.
00:03:56.000 The images are a noticeable departure from traditional depictions of Taliban fighters who seldom appeared with heavy weaponry or in full military garb, spoils left behind by the Afghan army. So things are going really well. They're going even better than that, actually. It turns out that over at the airport, a Fox News reporter is suggesting, Lucas Tomlinson, that the Taliban have been stepping up attacks on Afghans outside Abiy Gedi Kabul airport.
00:04:18.000 They've been tearing up passports and other vital documents.
00:04:20.000 One Afghan trying to escape says the Taliban knocked his wife's teeth out at a checkpoint, which of course is no shock at all.
00:04:27.000 You have to understand that the Kabul airport, you think of an airport as like a big place with a lot of runways.
00:04:32.000 Kabul airport is not a big place with a lot of runways.
00:04:34.000 Kabul airport is a postage stamp.
00:04:36.000 Bagram airport, which we Ridiculously surrendered to the Taliban for no apparent reason was a very large airport.
00:04:43.000 Kabul is one runway.
00:04:45.000 Literally one.
00:04:46.000 All the Taliban have to do to knock out the ability of anyone to fly anything out of Afghanistan at this point is send one more around into the runway.
00:04:54.000 That's it.
00:04:55.000 And everybody knows this, which is why they're treating the Taliban with kid gloves.
00:04:57.000 Meanwhile, the Taliban are basically screening whoever goes through the checkpoints, the security.
00:05:03.000 And this has resulted not just in Afghans being targeted, but also in Americans being targeted as well.
00:05:07.000 If you have an American passport, and if you have the right credentials, the Taliban has been allowing people to pass safely through.
00:05:13.000 being beaten by the Taliban as they approach these checkpoints.
00:05:32.000 There have been incidents of people having some tough encounters with Taliban.
00:05:39.000 As we learn about those incidents, we certainly go back and engage the Taliban leadership and press home to them that our expectation is that they allow our people with the appropriate credentials to get through the checkpoints.
00:05:56.000 Oh, well, you know, as long as we're conveying our feelings to the Taliban, obviously that will change things.
00:06:01.000 By the way, the State Department guidance right now is utterly unclear.
00:06:03.000 They're basically saying we can't guarantee your safety to get to the airport.
00:06:07.000 You should wait until we get back to you and give you instructions, but also don't call us because we're overwhelmed.
00:06:13.000 So it remains a complete crap show over in Kabul.
00:06:18.000 Meanwhile, Tony Blinken is trying to explain that the best way to get to the Kabul airport is to go yourself.
00:06:22.000 We're not going to be sending soldiers out there the way that the British have, the way that the Italians have, like there are other people who are out there, the Ukrainians have, like they're sending their military into the city to go pick up their citizens and bring them back.
00:06:32.000 But apparently not the United States.
00:06:33.000 Tony Blinken is saying basically you have to get there yourself and we'll try to figure out a way to get you out, but we can't guarantee your safety getting there, but also we're not going to come get you.
00:06:42.000 So imagine for a second that you were an American stuck in Afghanistan.
00:06:46.000 What would you do at this point?
00:06:48.000 Would you try to brave the thousands of people who are now surrounding the Kabul airport, including Taliban fighters, to get through there?
00:06:55.000 Let's say you're an American woman and you're trying to get through.
00:06:58.000 How would this go for you?
00:06:59.000 Do you feel perfectly comfortable that you would get through the phalanx of Taliban fighters and barbarians who are now guarding the airport?
00:07:08.000 Tony Blinken says, well, you know, we're doing our best.
00:07:11.000 The best way, the most effective way, the way I'm focused on to get folks in, again, is to be in direct contact with them and to help guide them in, to give them instructions on where to go, when to go there, and then we can bring them into the airport safely and effectively.
00:07:26.000 So they are still effectively on their own getting to the airport?
00:07:30.000 Again, we found that the best way to do this is to be in direct touch with them.
00:07:35.000 President, Secretary of Defense have been clear that we will do whatever it takes to get Americans home and out of harm's way.
00:07:42.000 Oh, you'll be in touch with them.
00:07:43.000 You see, you'll talk them through it.
00:07:45.000 Mmm.
00:07:46.000 Mmm.
00:07:46.000 Yes, I'm sure that as people hear stories about people having the crap beat out of them by the Taliban, their first thought is, well, probably I'm just going to go there.
00:07:53.000 You know, I mean, like, what could be the harm?
00:07:56.000 Exactly.
00:07:56.000 Meanwhile, Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor, he admits there are still several thousand Americans trying to get out of Kabul.
00:08:01.000 Now remember, none of this counts.
00:08:03.000 Presumably the hundreds or thousands of Americans who are not in Kabul, right?
00:08:06.000 This is just the Americans who are in Kabul.
00:08:08.000 But there are Americans at NGOs all over Afghanistan.
00:08:11.000 A lot of those people ain't coming home.
00:08:13.000 And I promise you, a year from now, there are going to be videos of Americans in Afghanistan who are being held hostage by the Taliban.
00:08:21.000 If you think that American involvement in Afghanistan ended with Joe Biden declaring that American involvement in Afghanistan is over, just watch the news for the next year or so.
00:08:29.000 Here's Jake Sullivan.
00:08:31.000 Exactly how many Americans are left behind in Afghanistan?
00:08:36.000 Well, Nora, the U.S.
00:08:37.000 government doesn't actually know the precise answer to that question, and that's because we ask every American who comes to Afghanistan to register with the U.S.
00:08:46.000 Embassy.
00:08:46.000 But when people leave, they often don't deregister, and even some who come never register in the first place.
00:08:52.000 Well, the clock is ticking.
00:08:53.000 The deadline is approaching.
00:08:54.000 It's just 12 days away.
00:08:55.000 You think you can have all that buttoned up by then?
00:08:59.000 We can move thousands of people every single day between now and the end of the month.
00:09:03.000 We have plenty more seats on flights than we believe that there are possibly Americans still in Afghanistan.
00:09:10.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:09:11.000 So they have no idea how many people are actually there.
00:09:14.000 Meanwhile, Fox News' Trey Yingst, he says there is no clear plan in place to rescue the Americans who are outside of Kabul.
00:09:19.000 Because remember again, not all of the Americans are in Kabul.
00:09:23.000 The question we keep hearing, whether it's people reaching out online saying we have relatives or friends trapped in Kabul or elsewhere, they keep asking, what's the plan?
00:09:32.000 Have you heard anything?
00:09:33.000 Who can I contact to make sure that my loved ones get to the airport?
00:09:37.000 And while there is a limited plan to get countries, including the United States, on the ground here to evacuate those who can make it to the airport, there is no clear plan in place to save the thousands of Americans who are not only spread out around Kabul, but in other cities, Herat, Kandahar, smaller cities around the country.
00:09:56.000 And they have no way to get here.
00:09:57.000 All of this because Joe Biden decided to precipitously pull out with no warning, without really any plan.
00:10:03.000 He said we were going to pull out April 14th, but he didn't start actually evacuating people.
00:10:07.000 So instead, we just moved the military out and we left all the materiel and human beings behind, which is precisely the opposite of what you would do, even if you're in favor of the withdrawal, which again, I think is politically foolish.
00:10:18.000 I think it's geostrategically idiotic.
00:10:19.000 But even if you're in favor of the withdrawal, even if you think that this was something that had to be done, we may as well do it sooner rather than later, you at least have to leave the soldiers in there long enough to make sure that we get our stuff and people out.
00:10:29.000 Instead, we just handed our military technology over to the Taliban.
00:10:32.000 We abandoned our air bases.
00:10:34.000 We basically cut our own hamstrings so we can't actually effectuate a way of getting people out of there to the point where now, not only do we not have an ability to get people out of there, the Biden administration is openly at this point talking about bombing all of the people and resources that we left there.
00:10:55.000 So the idea is we left all of these military resources behind.
00:10:58.000 Maybe we should bomb them.
00:11:00.000 Maybe we should just blow up all the military resources.
00:11:02.000 According to Axios, the Biden administration is considering launching airstrikes against the larger equipment.
00:11:07.000 They fear that such a move could provoke the Taliban at a time when the U.S.
00:11:10.000 is focusing on evacuating people from Afghanistan.
00:11:12.000 Again, this is because we left these people in charge.
00:11:15.000 These barbarians are in charge.
00:11:16.000 We are no longer in charge over there.
00:11:19.000 According to Politico, in the chaos of the moment, it's unclear to U.S.
00:11:22.000 officials how much equipment the Taliban has seized and how much of that sits unattended on bases and in small combat outposts across the country.
00:11:28.000 That uncertainty over the status of a massive arsenal is sparking fears of a regional arms bazaar that could be a boon to terrorist groups and insurgents.
00:11:36.000 The images that have spread across the world over the past week of Taliban fighters posing in front of captured helicopters and light attack aircraft have allowed the group to further humiliate the former Afghan and American governments.
00:11:46.000 But these images don't concern longtime extremism watchers as much as the proliferation of guns, bullets, and grenades.
00:11:53.000 So now, I guess we're going to have to send troops back in to blow all that stuff up.
00:11:56.000 So this has been just wonderful.
00:11:57.000 CNN, meanwhile, reporting there really is no access to the airport.
00:12:01.000 The Americans have closed all the gates access.
00:12:04.000 There is no access to the airport at the moment, except through one British access point called Camp Barron, which is on the outskirts of the airport where people are processed there and then moved into the airport once they've been cleared to fly out.
00:12:19.000 Now, that has been the case now for many hours.
00:12:23.000 That is Sam Kiley of CNN reporting as of yesterday.
00:12:25.000 Sky News also reporting on the chaos and saying, yeah, no, things are not organized out here.
00:12:30.000 This is an emergency now.
00:12:34.000 It's nothing to do with process.
00:12:36.000 They're just trying to save lives.
00:12:41.000 Tens of thousands are trying to get through.
00:12:43.000 At the front they're being crushed.
00:12:46.000 Paratroopers pulling people from the mayhem.
00:12:49.000 Medics rushing from the next casualty to the next and the next.
00:12:53.000 The soldiers spray the crowd with a hose, anything to cool them down.
00:12:57.000 men, women and lots and lots of children.
00:13:01.000 And then what we feared, the inevitable.
00:13:09.000 Is this a stabilized withdrawal from Afghanistan?
00:13:13.000 It looks like death to me.
00:13:15.000 Okay, so that is a report from Sky News.
00:13:16.000 Things are going great, though, according to the Biden administration.
00:13:18.000 By the way, there have been at least 20 deaths in the last week during the Kabul airport evacuation effort, according to NATO.
00:13:24.000 That's how well things are going over there.
00:13:26.000 Including, by the way, a child.
00:13:28.000 Like, at least a couple of children.
00:13:30.000 Seven people were crushed just over the weekend in panic at the airport.
00:13:34.000 So things are going absolutely swimmingly.
00:13:36.000 Thousands continue to try to flee the country.
00:13:38.000 The British military on Sunday acknowledged at least seven deaths at the airport.
00:13:43.000 And again, apparently one of the people who was killed was a two-year-old.
00:13:47.000 Apparently, soldiers had covered several corpses in white clothing.
00:13:51.000 Other troops stood on concrete barriers trying to calm down the crowd.
00:13:54.000 Others may have been trampled, suffocated, or suffered heart attacks as Taliban fighters fired into the air to try to drive back the crowds as well.
00:14:02.000 And, um, apparently the, uh, the temperatures have reached about 93 degrees Fahrenheit over there.
00:14:07.000 So, uh, so things are very hot and, uh, and, and sticky and just, it's pretty terrible all the way through.
00:14:14.000 Meanwhile, who's actually setting the rules here?
00:14:16.000 It's pretty obvious.
00:14:17.000 The Taliban are setting the rules.
00:14:18.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:14:20.000 First, let us talk about your sleep quality.
00:14:22.000 So here's the reality.
00:14:23.000 I've been recommending the Helix Sleep Mattress to you for quite a while, but you don't just sleep on your bed, right?
00:14:27.000 You got to take a nap.
00:14:28.000 You lay on your couch, don't you?
00:14:29.000 Well, what if you had a couch that was just as excellent as your Helix Sleep Mattress?
00:14:33.000 This is what Helix was thinking when they launched a new company called Allform.
00:14:36.000 They are making premium customizable sofas and chairs shipped directly to your door.
00:14:40.000 We have an all-form sofa.
00:14:41.000 It is, indeed, spectacular.
00:14:42.000 The three-seat sofa with chaise and the sand color with espresso legs.
00:14:45.000 It is so comfortable.
00:14:46.000 It is definitely the preferred place for naps in the Shapiro household.
00:14:49.000 What makes an all-form sofa really great?
00:14:50.000 Well, for starters, it's the easiest way.
00:14:52.000 You can customize the sofa using premium materials and at a fraction of the cost of traditional stores.
00:14:57.000 You can pick your fabric.
00:14:58.000 It is spill-stainless, scratch-resistant, which is super useful when you have kids.
00:15:01.000 The sofa color, color of the legs, sofa size, shape.
00:15:03.000 Make sure it is perfect for you and your home.
00:15:05.000 They've got armchairs and loveseats all the way up to an eight-seat sectional.
00:15:08.000 So there is something for everyone.
00:15:10.000 You can always start small, and you can buy more seats later on if you want your Allform sofa to grow and change with you when you move or when your family grows.
00:15:16.000 Allform sofas are delivered directly to your door.
00:15:18.000 In the past, if you wanted to order a sofa, you'd need to hire somebody to come assemble it for you.
00:15:21.000 But not anymore.
00:15:22.000 Allform makes it quick and easy.
00:15:23.000 They have a simple, quick assembly with no tools necessary.
00:15:25.000 And if getting a sofa without trying it in store sounds risky, don't worry because you have 100 days to decide if you want to keep it.
00:15:31.000 If you don't love it, they'll pick it up for free, give you a full refund, and they have a forever warranty, literally for all time.
00:15:31.000 More than three months.
00:15:37.000 So, to find your perfect sofa, check out allform.com slash Ben.

00:15:48.000 Get a great deal on a great sofa.
00:15:49.000 Allform.com slash Ben.
00:15:51.000 So the Taliban are in charge at this point and that is perfectly obvious.
00:15:55.000 So Joe Biden said yesterday that maybe we'll extend the August 31st deadline.
00:15:59.000 Remember, there was this August 31st deadline that he kept talking about over and over and over.
00:16:03.000 We're nine weeks away from the August 31st deadline.
00:16:04.000 Then he's asked, well, are you gonna stay longer if there's still Americans on the ground?
00:16:08.000 And he was like, we'll do our best to get out before August 31st.
00:16:11.000 And then George Stephanopoulos asked him last week, but you will extend the deadline.
00:16:15.000 And Biden said, yeah, maybe we'll extend the deadline.
00:16:16.000 So yesterday, Joe Biden said, maybe we'll extend the deadline again.
00:16:18.000 We're nine weeks away from the August 31st deadline.
00:16:23.000 Will you extend that deadline?
00:16:24.000 Or what is your thought process on extending the evacuation operation?
00:16:30.000 The discussions going on among us and the military about extending our Our hope is we will not have to extend, but there are going to be discussions, I suspect, on how far along we are in the process.
00:16:42.000 So there are discussions on whether we're going to have to extend.
00:16:44.000 In the meantime, in the meantime, the Taliban are saying, you're not extending.
00:16:50.000 They're like, you know what?
00:16:50.000 We're not going to let people through.
00:16:52.000 And you know what this is?
00:16:53.000 This is a hostage situation now.
00:16:55.000 As I mentioned, there's only one way out of this hostage situation for the Biden administration.
00:16:59.000 That is to hand billions of dollars to the Taliban.
00:17:01.000 We are going to become the chief funders of some of the worst terrorist supporters on planet Earth and the worst regime on planet Earth.
00:17:06.000 That is what the United States has been transformed to.
00:17:09.000 From the greatest fighting force on planet Earth, killing tens of thousands of Taliban members every year in coordination with our Afghan allies, to the people sponsoring the Taliban.
00:17:17.000 That is what we are going to turn into.
00:17:18.000 Because the Taliban has now met with Sky News in Doha, Qatar.
00:17:22.000 And here is what Sky News is reporting.
00:17:24.000 Taliban spokesperson Dr. Suhail Shaheen said, quote, it's a red line.
00:17:28.000 President Biden announced on August 31st they would withdraw all their military forces.
00:17:32.000 So if they extend it, that means they're extending occupation.
00:17:34.000 There's no need for that.
00:17:36.000 If the US or UK were to seek additional time to continue evacuations, the answer is no, or there would be consequences.
00:17:42.000 It will create mistrust between us.
00:17:44.000 If they are intent on continuing the occupation, it will provoke a reaction.
00:17:49.000 All of that comes as Boris Johnson is personally begging with Joe Biden to extend the deadline to allow more people to flee the reign of terror of the Taliban.
00:17:55.000 Meanwhile, desperate scenes grow at Kabul International Airport.
00:17:58.000 According to Sky News, people are prepared to leave everything and risk their lives to escape life under the militant group rule.
00:18:03.000 When pressed on this issue, that people are clinging onto aircraft, leaving the country, and that that is far from routine, Dr. Shaheen, he's probably a great doctor, probably.
00:18:12.000 Dr. Shaheen, the spokesperson for the Taliban.
00:18:15.000 Probably an excellent doctor.
00:18:15.000 He said, They want to reside in Western countries.
00:18:21.000 And that is a kind of economic migration because Afghanistan is poor and 70% of the people in Afghanistan live under the poverty line.
00:18:26.000 So everyone wants to resettle in Western countries to have a prosperous life, but it's not about being scared of the Taliban.
00:18:32.000 When asked about footage that the Taliban are going door-to-door and threatening people and closing down girls' schools and banning women from television, and when asked about a story from CNN that the brother of an Afghan translator was just murdered the other day.
00:18:46.000 CNN is reporting that the Taliban have sentenced the brother of an Afghan translator to death, according to letters obtained by CNN, accusing him of helping the U.S.
00:18:53.000 in providing security to his brother, who served as an interpreter to American troops.
00:18:58.000 So the Taliban are obviously doing all this sort of stuff.
00:19:01.000 Dr. Shaheen said, all fake news.
00:19:03.000 I can assure you, there are many reports by our opponents claiming what is not based in reality.
00:19:08.000 Dr. Shaheen said, the women who stay in the country will lose nothing.
00:19:11.000 Only if they have no hijab, they will have a hijab.
00:19:14.000 Women are required to have the same rights as you have in your country, but with a hijab.
00:19:18.000 When pressed on this issue, Shaheen said, women teachers will have resumed work, lost nothing.
00:19:22.000 Female journalists, they have resumed their work, lost nothing.
00:19:26.000 Um, yeah, sure.
00:19:27.000 They said the same thing last time, by the way.
00:19:31.000 So Sky News asks, what the Taliban would say to the families of those who died trying to help Afghanistan?
00:19:37.000 Quote, they occupied our country.
00:19:39.000 If we occupy your country, what will you say to me?
00:19:41.000 What if I killed your people in your country?
00:19:42.000 What will you say?
00:19:43.000 I think all people suffered a lot, bloodshed, destruction, everything.
00:19:46.000 We say the past is the past, part of our past history.
00:19:48.000 Now we want to focus on the future.
00:19:50.000 Yeah, sure.
00:19:51.000 Okay, so the Taliban are in charge, they're setting the deadline, and they've said there will be consequences if we move past August 31st, which of course means that the United States is now Basically, the Taliban is playing the tune and the United States, the most powerful country in the history of the world, is dancing to the tune of a bunch of 8th century barbarians armed with weapons that we gave them.
00:20:10.000 So that's great.
00:20:12.000 The way that we are coping with this, according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, is we are now ordering commercial airlines to provide passenger jets to help with the growing U.S.
00:20:20.000 military operation.
00:20:22.000 Lloyd Austin activated Stage 1 of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet, created in 1952 after the Berlin Airlift, to provide 18 airliners to help ferry passengers arriving at bases in the Middle East from Afghanistan, according to the Pentagon spokesperson.
00:20:34.000 The current activation is for 18 planes, four from the United Airlines, three from American, Atlas Air, Delta Airlines, and Omni Air, and two from Hawaiian Airlines.
00:20:44.000 Captain John Perkins, spokesman for the military's transportation command, said the commercial airliners would begin service on Monday or Tuesday.
00:20:49.000 They would fly evacuees from the Middle East to Europe and from Europe to the United States.
00:20:54.000 So obviously this is a well-planned, well-coordinated effort when you have to call on Hawaiian Airlines to airlift people out of Afghanistan.
00:21:01.000 Not gonna say that's on their normal flight schedule.
00:21:02.000 It's like, so yesterday they were flying from, you know, LAX to Maui.
00:21:07.000 Today, the U.S.
00:21:08.000 military is like, okay, we're gonna need you to redirect to Kabul.
00:21:12.000 I'd love to be on that flight crew, gang.
00:21:15.000 Captain Perkins said in a telephone interview the military had requested wide-body, long-haul aircraft capable of carrying several hundred passengers.
00:21:21.000 He said discussions had started with the airlines last week, and some carriers had volunteered, but the demand was great enough for Austin to order more airlines to honor their obligations under the Reserve Fleet Program.
00:21:31.000 Civilian planes would not fly into or out of Kabul, where a rapidly deteriorating security situation is hampered.
00:21:36.000 Instead, they would help transport thousands of Afghans arriving in Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE.
00:21:41.000 So they're not actually flying into Kabul, but they are flying into the Middle East, where they weren't flying before, and they'll be flying people out of there.
00:21:46.000 That's how well-coordinated this effort has been.
00:21:50.000 Meanwhile, ISIS is back, so that's exciting.
00:21:53.000 Local staff members at the U.S.
00:21:54.000 Embassy in Kabul are deeply disheartened by U.S.
00:21:57.000 evacuation orders and have expressed a deep sense of betrayal, according to NBC News, by the way.
00:22:02.000 There was a cable that said memos had been sent to Afghan staff at the embassy on Wednesday inviting them to head to Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.
00:22:08.000 It told them to take food and prepare for difficult conditions.
00:22:11.000 No one anticipated the brutal experience that occurred, according to the embassy staff.
00:22:14.000 Staffers reported being jostled, hit, spat on, and cursed at by Taliban fighters near the airport.
00:22:19.000 Adding criminals were taking advantage of the chaos while the U.S.
00:22:21.000 military tried to maintain order in an extremely physical situation.
00:22:24.000 Some staff members reported they were almost separated from their kids.
00:22:27.000 Others collapsed and crushed people and had to be taken to the hospital with injuries, according to the cable.
00:22:32.000 Others said they had collapsed on the road because of heat exhaustion.
00:22:35.000 One staff member said it would be better to die under the Taliban's bullet than face the crowds again.
00:22:39.000 Happy to die here, but with dignity and pride, said another.
00:22:41.000 A third accused the U.S.
00:22:42.000 of prioritizing the Afghan government elite with contacts in America over American embassy staffers.
00:22:48.000 So good times.
00:22:48.000 In just one second, we'll get to the ISIS reports, because apparently ISIS is back in country and doing what they do best.
00:22:56.000 So everything is working out wonderfully.
00:22:57.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you don't want to go to the auto parts store because who wants to go to the auto parts store?
00:23:02.000 And we live in a wonderful country.
00:23:04.000 And there are lots of services that are available to you, like the interwebs.
00:23:07.000 So why would you stand in line in an auto parts store?
00:23:09.000 You get to the front of the line, you get some doofus at the front who tells you all about the different parts they have, and then says they are out of stock for the part you need, orders it, upcharges you, it says come back in two weeks.
00:23:20.000 Why not just go to the internet and use rockauto.com?
00:23:22.000 Rockauto.com always offers the lowest prices possible, rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear, like airlines do.
00:23:29.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?
00:23:31.000 They're a family business, serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:23:34.000 Go to rockauto.com.
00:23:36.000 Shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:23:38.000 The catalog is unique, remarkably easy to navigate.
00:23:40.000 You can quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle and choose the brand's specifications and prices you prefer.
00:23:46.000 The last thing anyone wants to do is spend hours in an auto parts store.
00:23:49.000 It sounds terrible.
00:23:50.000 Go to rockauto.com right now.
00:23:51.000 See all the parts available for your car or truck.
00:23:53.000 Write Shapiro in there.
00:23:53.000 How did you hear about us, Box?
00:23:55.000 So they know that we sent you.
00:23:55.000 Again, that's rockauto.com.
00:23:57.000 Go check them out right now.
00:23:59.000 And Rick Shapiro in there, how did you hear about us, Box?
00:24:01.000 So they know that we sent you.
00:24:02.000 Meanwhile, in case you were wondering whether the terror problem in Afghanistan is going to continue to be a problem, the answer is ISIS is back.
00:24:10.000 So that's exciting stuff.
00:24:12.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S.
00:24:15.000 warned the Islamic State poses a threat to Americans in Afghanistan as the Biden administration seeks to evacuate thousands of U.S.
00:24:20.000 citizens and Afghan allies.
00:24:22.000 The threat is real.
00:24:23.000 It is acute.
00:24:24.000 It is persistent.
00:24:24.000 It is something we are focused on with every tool in our arsenal, said Jake Sullivan, the president's national security advisor, he told CNN on Sunday when asked whether crowds of Kabul International Airport are vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
00:24:36.000 Because, by the way, that is a real possibility.
00:24:38.000 You got a bunch of Americans and Afghan allies who are just lined up around this place.
00:24:43.000 All it would take is one ISIS guy with an AK to mow down a bunch of those people.
00:24:47.000 President Biden speaking from the White House said, quote, we know that terrorists may seek to exploit the situation and target innocent Afghans or American troops. We're maintaining constant vigilance to monitor and disrupt threats from any source. Concerns over Islamic State attacks were one reason the US.
00:25:01.000 Embassy warned Americans on Saturday to avoid traveling to the airport in Kabul and to avoid airport gates, defense officials have said.
00:25:07.000 So, question.
00:25:08.000 If Americans can't go to the airport, and they can't go to the airport gates, and you're worried about ISIS killing them, what are you going to do now?
00:25:15.000 What exactly is your plan, guys?
00:25:18.000 Islamic State is among several terrorist groups present in Afghanistan, each with a different relationship with the Taliban.
00:25:22.000 The Taliban had harbored al-Qaeda before the group's terrorist attacks on the U.S. in 2001.
00:25:27.000 Reports have surfaced the Taliban have freed al-Qaeda fighters from prisons as they gain control of the country this month.
00:25:31.000 ISIS and the Taliban have sometimes fought over control of the territory in Afghanistan.
00:25:36.000 The Taliban, after taking over Kabul, executed the former head of ISIS in South Asia, who had been in a government prison.
00:25:42.000 Assisting the U.S.
00:25:43.000 evacuation effort, roughly two dozen countries have agreed to take in Afghan evacuees while they are processed.
00:25:48.000 The Biden administration has also ordered commercial airliners to help evacuate.
00:25:52.000 Mr. Sullivan was one of several U.S.
00:25:53.000 national security officials to appear on Sunday morning news programs to discuss the evacuation effort.
00:25:58.000 But honestly, if you think things are bad now over there, wait until there's an actual terrorist attack on the gates outside of the Kabul airport.
00:26:07.000 Because then you're just relying on the Taliban to basically provide full-fledged security.
00:26:11.000 Right now it's not just, will the Taliban be nice enough to allow our people to leave if we bribe them?
00:26:15.000 Now the question is, will the Taliban actually go to war with Al-Qaeda to stop Al-Qaeda from killing people who are outside the gates?
00:26:21.000 And that is a very real possibility given the fact the State Department is now telling people not to go to the airport because they're afraid of terrorist attacks.
00:26:27.000 U.N.
00:26:28.000 officials have reported Al-Qaeda operations are still present in some areas.
00:26:31.000 U.S.
00:26:31.000 intelligence assessments have said the group could completely reconstitute in Afghanistan within 18 months to two years after an American withdrawal.
00:26:39.000 U.S.
00:26:39.000 officials have since said they are likely to reassess that timeline to like 15 minutes.
00:26:45.000 What a full-scale disaster.
00:26:47.000 So, the good news is, we have a president who is clearly with us, a president who is clearly in control, a president who has defined this policy and plan for every contingency, and totally knows what's going on right now.
00:27:00.000 Or, alternatively, we have a house plant.
00:27:03.000 Who is not with us, and has not been with us for quite some time.
00:27:07.000 So, Chris Wallace had on the Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, who has really outdone himself this time.
00:27:12.000 And Tony Blinken is not good at his job, and he is extraordinarily not good at his job.
00:27:16.000 Chris Wallace on Fox News asked him, you know, the president keeps saying things that are not true, like over and over.
00:27:21.000 The president said Al Qaeda isn't in Afghanistan.
00:27:23.000 That's not true.
00:27:24.000 The president has said that there is no violence outside the airport gates.
00:27:28.000 That is not true.
00:27:29.000 The president has suggested that the Afghan security forces didn't fight at all.
00:27:33.000 We're not capable of fighting.
00:27:34.000 That's not true.
00:27:35.000 Like he said, a lot of things that are not true.
00:27:36.000 Is he with us?
00:27:37.000 Like is the president like on this planet as of any time recently?
00:27:42.000 Or is he just too wrapped up in that Matlock marathon?
00:27:45.000 on cable channel 799 to pay attention to what's going on.
00:27:49.000 Here's Chris Wallace with Tony Blinken.
00:27:51.000 Tony Blinken's answer here is somewhat disturbing.
00:27:53.000 Mr. Secretary, does the president not know what's going on?
00:27:58.000 This is an incredibly emotional time for many of us, and including allies and partners who've been shoulder to shoulder with us in Afghanistan for 20 years.
00:28:10.000 So the question was, does the president know what's going on?
00:28:13.000 And the Secretary of State's answer is, it's an emotional time for us all.
00:28:20.000 Do you feel quieted?
00:28:22.000 Do you feel that things are going well?
00:28:24.000 Do you feel that this president is in charge?
00:28:28.000 That's not the answer you're looking for.
00:28:29.000 The answer you're looking for is the president knows every single thing that's going on right at this moment.
00:28:33.000 We are making decisions in real time.
00:28:34.000 We plan for every contingency.
00:28:36.000 Sometimes those plans go wrong, and we are making contingencies for the contingencies, but the president is up to date and apprised.
00:28:43.000 Instead, we get, it's an emotional time.
00:28:45.000 I mean, let's be real.
00:28:48.000 The emotions are running high right now.
00:28:51.000 Yeah, great.
00:28:53.000 Also, who's in control?
00:28:54.000 Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who's in control?
00:28:57.000 Here's Tony Blinken explaining.
00:28:58.000 The Taliban are in control.
00:28:59.000 Now, you should be asking yourself the question, why?
00:29:02.000 You should be asking why?
00:29:03.000 And the answer, of course, is because Joe Biden decided to put them in control.
00:29:06.000 Period.
00:29:06.000 End of story.
00:29:07.000 That is the only reason the Taliban are in control.
00:29:10.000 Someone in our audience might listen to you, Mr. Secretary, and say, oh, so we have to ask the Taliban for permission for American citizens to leave.
00:29:16.000 True or not true?
00:29:18.000 They are in control of Kabul.
00:29:21.000 That is the reality.
00:29:22.000 That's the reality that we have to deal with.
00:29:25.000 How comfortable are you with that, Mr. Secretary?
00:29:27.000 Um...
00:29:29.000 What I'm focused on, what we're all focused on, is getting people out and making sure that we're doing everything possible to do that.
00:29:37.000 And in this case, it is, I think, a requirement of the job to be in contact with the Taliban, which controls Kabul.
00:29:46.000 If your jaw's not on the floor after listening to clips like that, I don't know what to tell you.
00:29:50.000 The most powerful country in world history has put the Taliban in charge of Kabul, with thousands of American citizens still stranded in country.
00:29:58.000 The Taliban is in charge of the gates.
00:30:00.000 In terms of who gets in and who gets out, the Taliban is supposed to be in charge of preventing terror attacks on Americans and Afghans.
00:30:06.000 People who they want to kill, by the way.
00:30:08.000 And Tony Blinken's like, well, you know, they're in charge.
00:30:12.000 And when asked whether he is comfortable with that, his answer is, we're focused on the future.
00:30:17.000 Hmm.
00:30:18.000 Hmm.
00:30:18.000 That's good.
00:30:19.000 Well, the good news is that at least if Biden isn't with it, then Tony Blinken is, right?
00:30:23.000 I mean, Tony Blinken obviously is on top of this thing.
00:30:25.000 Here is Tony Blinken talking about the people in Afghanistan that he's been in touch with.
00:30:29.000 What we've seen, Major, is also pretty remarkable.
00:30:34.000 Go back a week.
00:30:36.000 The government fell.
00:30:37.000 And by the way, I was on the phone with President Karzai the day before, when he was telling me his intent, as he put it, to fight to the death.
00:30:44.000 Well, the next day he was gone.
00:30:46.000 The military collapsed.
00:30:48.000 Um, he was on the phone.
00:30:50.000 Well, last week, he was on the phone with President Karzai.
00:30:54.000 That's weird.
00:30:56.000 The reason it's weird is because Khamenei Karzai has not been president of Afghanistan since 2014.
00:31:02.000 It's now 2021.
00:31:04.000 So he meant, presumably, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, right?
00:31:08.000 Who's the guy who fled.
00:31:10.000 But it's disquieting.
00:31:11.000 The Secretary of State doesn't know who the hell he was talking to a week ago, nor does he care.
00:31:15.000 Let's be real about this.
00:31:16.000 They don't care what's going on here.
00:31:17.000 They don't care.
00:31:17.000 I mean, Chuck Schumer is dancing at events with Stephen Colbert.
00:31:23.000 And Nancy Pelosi is off doing wine and dines in Napa without masks.
00:31:27.000 And the president is busy drinking Ensure and taking naps at 11 o'clock in the morning.
00:31:34.000 There is no hand at this wheel.
00:31:35.000 There is no hand at the tiller.
00:31:38.000 And because there's no hand at the wheel, no hand at the tiller, a decision to direct the... to essentially tie the tiller such that the ship is directed directly at an iceberg.
00:31:50.000 And then to be like, well, I guess, you know, if an emergency arises, we'll do something.
00:31:54.000 The emergency is here.
00:31:55.000 You guys are incompetent.
00:31:57.000 You hadn't... It's... It is jaw-dropping.
00:32:01.000 It's all jaw-dropping.
00:32:03.000 Okay, and if you were worried that it was just, maybe it's just Biden's staffers, not Biden himself.
00:32:08.000 So, there is only one problem with this, which is that Biden is the one who made this call.
00:32:12.000 There was a tweet from Axios yesterday saying, Joe Biden doesn't plan to fire anyone over this.
00:32:16.000 Well, who the hell would he fire?
00:32:17.000 Himself?
00:32:18.000 This is his policy, beginning to end.
00:32:21.000 This was his policy.
00:32:22.000 There are two major decisions that have been made in the recent history of Afghanistan, aside from the 2014 drawdown by Barack Obama.
00:32:31.000 Two major events, right?
00:32:33.000 Two major events, I think is fair to say.
00:32:35.000 One is the killing of Osama bin Laden, the other is the pullout.
00:32:38.000 Joe Biden was on the wrong side of both of those.
00:32:40.000 Joe Biden opposed the raid that killed bin Laden.
00:32:42.000 And now, he was in favor of withdrawing with no contingency plan, radically, without any sort of advance for- like, you would know how to do this.
00:32:54.000 You, like the regular Joe, plumber Joe, you would know how to do this.
00:32:59.000 Right?
00:33:00.000 Let's say that a flood was about to hit your house.
00:33:02.000 A flood was about to hit your house.
00:33:04.000 And you have a couple of choices.
00:33:06.000 One is, you could leave your children and all of your belongings in your house.
00:33:09.000 And you could just flee.
00:33:11.000 And then when the flood hits, you could try to row back in on a rowboat to get those things.
00:33:15.000 Or, knowing the flood is coming, you could, theoretically, take your kids, put them in the back of the car, take the boxes of stuff you want, put that in the back of the car, and then drive away and call the insurance company.
00:33:25.000 Which one do you think Joe Biden did here?
00:33:27.000 Joe Biden was like, not only is a flood coming, I'm going to unleash the flood.
00:33:30.000 I'm going to blow up the dam, right?
00:33:32.000 The levee is going to break.
00:33:33.000 I'm going to be responsible for that.
00:33:34.000 The flood is coming.
00:33:35.000 Also, I'm going to leave my kids in the house over here and all of my pictures, all my old photos.
00:33:39.000 I'm just going to leave that stuff there.
00:33:41.000 And hey, that was an unforeseen, but I had a plan for it.
00:33:44.000 My plan is that I was going to come back later in a rowboat.
00:33:48.000 OK, so if you just think that's his team that came up with that plan, First of all, we have multiple reports of people telling Joe Biden this was the dumbest plan ever.
00:33:48.000 That's the plan.
00:33:57.000 This is a terrible, terrible, stupid thing to do.
00:34:00.000 And Joe Biden ignoring them because he is a dumb man.
00:34:03.000 He's always been kind of a dumb man.
00:34:05.000 According to Barack Obama, right?
00:34:06.000 Never underestimate Joe's capacity to F things up.
00:34:09.000 Quote, Barack Obama.
00:34:11.000 He was his vice president.
00:34:13.000 But now we have Joe Biden, who is not at the top of his game.
00:34:17.000 And there was never a top of his game.
00:34:19.000 We're not talking about like Michael Jordan in the declining Washington Wizards years.
00:34:23.000 We're talking about Benoit Benjamin at the end of his career.
00:34:27.000 OK, this is not somebody who is like a great guy, a great player who has now declined somewhat from his peak.
00:34:34.000 We're talking about, like, the fringe guy.
00:34:36.000 We're talking about, like, Brian Scalabrini at the end of the bench.
00:34:40.000 And it's the waning days of his career when he can no longer move.
00:34:44.000 And by the way, no rep on Benoit Benjamin or Brian Scalabrini, both of whom were much better at their jobs than Joe Biden is at his job, which is saying a lot because neither one of them are great players.
00:34:52.000 Like, this is unbelievable.
00:34:54.000 It's incredible.
00:34:56.000 Okay, so here is Joe Biden being even less competent than usual over the weekend.
00:35:01.000 He always gets very testy.
00:35:01.000 If you ask him like a tough question about the fact that he just, you know, blew up America's foreign policy, like completely blew it up because China is ecstatic today.
00:35:10.000 We just lost every base we have in the region.
00:35:12.000 It's not just that we've lost bases in Afghanistan.
00:35:13.000 We lost our bases in Pakistan.
00:35:17.000 We have no surrounding bases.
00:35:19.000 Our nearest base is now in Qatar, which is hundreds of miles away.
00:35:23.000 We have no over-the-horizon capacity.
00:35:25.000 We lost all of our intelligence sources on the ground who are likely to be murdered by the Taliban.
00:35:29.000 China is ecstatic because now they have land access.
00:35:33.000 They now have basically a bridge all the way from China through Afghanistan into Iran, to Syria, to Lebanon.
00:35:40.000 Like this is all Chinese allied territory now.
00:35:43.000 You got the Russians who are doing the same thing.
00:35:46.000 I mean, it's a full-scale geopolitical disaster.
00:35:49.000 And if you're an American ally, you're looking at the Biden administration going, I don't trust you.
00:35:52.000 I'm gonna have to triangulate now.
00:35:54.000 I'm gonna have to look to Russia and China, try to cut a few deals, try to shore up, you know, kind of backfill some sort of national security here.
00:36:03.000 It's, I've never seen anything remotely like it.
00:36:05.000 And the president of the United States is not with us.
00:36:07.000 There's nothing going on upstairs.
00:36:09.000 The lights are on, but nobody is home.
00:36:10.000 And frankly, the lights are dimming very, very quickly.
00:36:13.000 Here's the President of the United States getting testy when asked questions about it.
00:36:24.000 I love you.
00:36:24.000 But you know, there's not a lot of people I trust.
00:36:27.000 Okay, he was asked if he trusts the Taliban now.
00:36:29.000 And the reason he was asked that is because he is trusting the Taliban to allow Americans out.
00:36:33.000 And the reporter says, do you trust them?
00:36:34.000 He said, I don't trust you, man.
00:36:35.000 I don't trust anybody.
00:36:37.000 Trust no one.
00:36:38.000 Well, I wish you'd abided by that rule before you pulled all American soldiers out of Kabul, preventing us from getting our people out.
00:36:45.000 If you didn't trust them, why did you do this?
00:36:47.000 This was unnecessary.
00:36:48.000 This wasn't the Taliban defeated the United States military in armed combat.
00:36:52.000 This was not even the Taliban defeated the Afghan military in armed combat.
00:36:55.000 This was the United States withdrew close air support from the Afghan military, withdrew all American military contractors, allowing the Afghan Air Force to fly.
00:37:04.000 This is the United States completely destroyed the bases for the Afghan army.
00:37:09.000 And the Afghan army disappeared.
00:37:11.000 The Taliban didn't take Kabul in ground assault fighting.
00:37:15.000 They didn't take Kabul in hand-to-hand combat.
00:37:18.000 They took Kabul without firing a shot.
00:37:20.000 They took Kandahar without firing a shot.
00:37:22.000 They took Mazar-e-Sharif without firing a shot.
00:37:24.000 That's because of Biden.
00:37:25.000 No one else.
00:37:26.000 Just Biden.
00:37:27.000 That's all.
00:37:29.000 It's unreal.
00:37:31.000 Now, what's hilarious is that he says like these two clips back to back.
00:37:34.000 So he says, I don't trust anybody, including you.
00:37:36.000 I don't trust the Taliban, but he's going to urge the Taliban to respect the well-beings of Afghans.
00:37:41.000 Oh, I'm sure that's what's going to happen, Mr. President.
00:37:43.000 I'm sure that's what's going to happen.
00:37:44.000 Now you've pulled out all protective forces and destroyed all of our allies and left anyone who allied with us at the risk of being shot in the face by the Taliban.
00:37:52.000 I am sure that the Taliban are thinking to themselves, how can we protect the well-being of Afghans in coordination with the desires of the Biden administration that just gave us Apache attack helicopters?
00:38:05.000 What in the actual?
00:38:08.000 There's no way to do the show without the F word.
00:38:09.000 There's just no way.
00:38:11.000 Here's the president of the United States.
00:38:14.000 The Taliban has to make a fundamental decision.
00:38:24.000 Is the Taliban going to attempt to be able to unite and provide for the well-being of the people of Afghanistan, which no one group has ever done since before, for hundreds of years?
00:38:41.000 And if it does, it's going to need everything from additional help in terms of economic assistance, trade, and a whole range of things.
00:38:49.000 The Taliban is going to have...
00:38:52.000 The Taliban is going to have to make a decision.
00:38:54.000 Okay, so let's say they have to make a decision.
00:38:56.000 Who knows what decision they're going to make?
00:38:58.000 On the one hand, they could do all the things Joe Biden wants them to do.
00:39:01.000 On the other hand, they could tell him to go screw himself, kill everyone who allied with us, stuff the women back into burqas, and then back into the basement, and then rape them, and do whatever the hell they want.
00:39:11.000 I wonder which one... I have an idea.
00:39:13.000 I think I know the answer.
00:39:13.000 My hand's up here.
00:39:15.000 I think... It's a hard question.
00:39:16.000 I think I know the answer to this one as to what the Taliban is going to do.
00:39:20.000 I think I know.
00:39:21.000 This is really rough.
00:39:22.000 By the way, Joe Biden was then asked a question about ISIS, which again is rising in Afghanistan.
00:39:27.000 And here was Joe Biden's electrifying response.
00:39:33.000 In case you can't see that, that's the president of the United States walking and doddering out the back door.
00:39:37.000 I kid you not.
00:39:39.000 It's the president of the United States turning around and walking out the back door.
00:39:43.000 Yeah, man.
00:39:44.000 This is gonna go fantastically.
00:39:46.000 Well, the good news is that if Joe Biden should actually be declared incompetent, which may, in fact, have to happen at some point here, then the person who will replace him, Kamala Harris, she's up for the job, right?
00:39:57.000 Oh, wait, we have video of Kamala Harris, too.
00:40:00.000 What an administration this is.
00:40:02.000 But no bad tweets.
00:40:03.000 No bad tweets.
00:40:05.000 Get to that in a moment.
00:40:06.000 First, The Ben Shapiro Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable Christian university, one of the largest, fastest growing universities in the country, which means on the planet.

00:40:25.000 I visited Grand Canyon University a couple of years ago.
00:40:27.000 The student body is just spectacular.
00:40:29.000 It is a wonderful, wonderful place.
00:40:31.000 GCU integrates the free market system with a welcoming Christian worldview perspective into its academic programs, so you can put your faith into action and help transform communities.
00:40:40.000 They're a university that actually has values, as shown by the fact that they sponsor shows like this one.
00:40:44.000 In 2020, GCU students received over $290 million in scholarships, with many attending GCU for less than the cost of a state university.
00:40:52.000 Find your purpose at GCU.
00:40:54.000 Private.
00:40:55.000 Christian.
00:40:55.000 Affordable.
00:40:56.000 Now, I'm constantly ranting on this show about how the university system has completely collapsed and is churning out woke garbage by the metric ton.
00:41:04.000 Not so at GCU, where values still matter.
00:41:06.000 Visit gcu.edu slash myoffer, see what scholarships you qualify for.
00:41:10.000 It's going to be worth your time.

00:42:07.000 Well, you might be asking yourself whether Joe Biden is competent.
00:42:16.000 And the answer, of course, is not.
00:42:18.000 I mean, Joe Biden is literally just forgetting things now.
00:42:18.000 He is not.
00:42:22.000 In this same presser, he literally forgot the name of his FEMA administrator, which I understand is a forgettable thing, but not if you're president and it's your administrator.
00:42:31.000 I know the names of my producers.
00:42:32.000 It takes me a little while, but once I know them, I know them.
00:42:34.000 Here's the president of the United States.
00:42:35.000 Just forget.
00:42:36.000 By the way, there's a teleprompter in front of him.
00:42:38.000 He's speaking from teleprompter at this point.
00:42:41.000 I can't think of anyone better to lead this operation than Dianne Criswell of FEMA.
00:42:54.000 Before she headed up FEMA, she led the emergency response in New York City.
00:42:58.000 I can't think of anyone better to lead this effort than Shabbat Yitzhak Buzik, MGODianne.
00:43:04.000 Yeah, man.
00:43:05.000 Okay, well, the good news is, waiting in the wings, we have Kamala Harris, the most competent person.
00:43:09.000 She is so competent.
00:43:10.000 So competent.
00:43:11.000 She's deeply ready for this job.
00:43:12.000 She is so ready for this job.
00:43:13.000 She'll be ready day one.
00:43:15.000 I mean, she might not need to be ready day one, but like, we're maybe, what, 150 days into this administration?
00:43:21.000 So by day 200, she might need to be ready.
00:43:23.000 Here is Kamala Harris cackling like a crazy person when asked about Afghanistan, which is always heartening.
00:43:29.000 It's always great when the Vice President of the United States, who, by the way, I don't know who books her travel schedule.
00:43:35.000 You know she's headed to Vietnam today.
00:43:37.000 She's flying to Vietnam.
00:43:39.000 Optics, gang!
00:43:40.000 Optics!
00:43:41.000 Here's Kamala Harris.
00:43:45.000 What's your response to reports of American— Hold on, hold on.
00:43:48.000 Slow down, everybody.
00:43:49.000 I want to talk about two things.
00:43:53.000 First, Afghanistan.
00:43:57.000 We couldn't have a higher priority right now, and in particular, our priority is making sure that we safely evacuate American citizens.
00:44:06.000 Man, is that a weird tick?
00:44:07.000 Is that a weird tick or what?
00:44:09.000 Madam Vice President, what about Afghanistan?
00:44:11.000 Let's it let's take a break here for that What is that But the good news is she's not the only one laughing.
00:44:26.000 I've got a lot of people laughing these days.
00:44:27.000 Joe Biden is laughing it up.
00:44:29.000 There is a brand new poll that shows that Americans think he's doing an unbelievably crappy job on Afghanistan.
00:44:34.000 The new poll, which is from NBC News or CBS News, rather CBS News, YouGov.
00:44:41.000 According to Americans, there's a poll from three days ago.
00:44:45.000 Removal of US troops from Afghanistan has gone very badly.
00:44:49.000 Somewhat badly.
00:44:51.000 Somewhat well.
00:44:52.000 21%.
00:44:53.000 Very well.
00:44:54.000 5%.
00:44:54.000 So the 5% is Ron Klain and the Taliban.
00:44:58.000 Meanwhile, 74% of Americans think this has either gone very badly or somewhat badly.
00:45:02.000 And the 21% who say somewhat well are actually in the pay of the Democratic Party, presumably.
00:45:08.000 So Joe Biden was asked about this.
00:45:09.000 It is hilarious to Joe Biden.
00:45:12.000 The new poll out today shows Americans wanted to withdraw from Afghanistan, but they disapprove of the way you've handled it.
00:45:20.000 Poll also found that based in part on what's transpired in the last week, the majority of Americans, and forgive me, I'm just the messenger, no longer consider you to be competent, focused, or effective in the job.
00:45:33.000 I haven't seen that poll.
00:45:34.000 It's out there, um, from CBS this morning.
00:45:37.000 Um, what would you say?
00:45:42.000 So remember that time that Donald Trump would just deny polls?
00:45:46.000 Remember there would be people who would read him poll numbers and just be like, fake news, fake poll, not real.
00:45:51.000 And everybody in the media would go, how dare he?
00:45:53.000 It's a real poll.
00:45:54.000 What, he's just not going to believe polls now?
00:45:56.000 So you read Joe Biden a poll saying that most Americans think that he's not competent.
00:46:00.000 And Joe Biden's like, I don't know anything.
00:46:02.000 And then he breaks out the Cesar Romero.
00:46:04.000 Honestly, I've never seen a vice president and a president who both resemble the Joker bizarrely.
00:46:10.000 It's a weird thing.
00:46:11.000 It's very, very odd.
00:46:13.000 But it's all fine, probably.
00:46:15.000 It's all fine.
00:46:17.000 Everything is solid.
00:46:19.000 It's going well.
00:46:21.000 We're being told by this administration that the competence is at record high levels.
00:46:26.000 They are laser focused on what they need to do here.
00:46:29.000 Oh boy.
00:46:32.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here a little bit later today with an additional hour of content.
00:46:34.000 In the meantime, go check out the Michael Mullins show today.
00:46:36.000 He discusses the spike in transit surgeries.
00:46:38.000 You can hear more details about that story over on Michael's show that's available right now.
