00:01:37.000 Joe Biden, I keep saying it because it's true.
00:01:39.000 He's in serious, serious trouble.
00:01:41.000 If you look at his poll numbers, they are just awful.
00:01:43.000 The latest Quinnipiac poll has him overall at 33% approval rating.
00:01:47.000 33% approval rating.
00:01:49.000 It's like basically Joe Biden's immediate family and people who work directly for the Democratic Party and members of the media.
00:01:55.000 But I repeat myself three times over there.
00:01:57.000 His approval ratings by group are horrifyingly bad.
00:02:00.000 Among men, he has a 27% approval rating.
00:02:03.000 Among women, he has a 39% approval rating.
00:02:06.000 Among independents, he has a 25% approval rating.
00:02:10.000 Among those with no college degree, 24% approval rating.
00:02:14.000 Apparently, college makes you dumber because 43% of people who went to college, a four-year college, apparently approve of Joe Biden.
00:02:20.000 But even that is 43 versus 50.
00:02:22.000 Among white Americans, 31% approval rating.
00:02:24.000 Among black Americans, where Democrats are normally in the 80s or 90s, he's down to 59% approval rating.
00:02:30.000 And among Hispanics, it's even lower than among whites, which, by the way, is now a consistent result.
00:02:34.000 Joe Biden is underperforming among Hispanics worse than he is among whites in nearly every poll that has been performed over the last several months, which demonstrates full scale that the Democratic dream of a multiracial coalition that was going to unite against the white superstructure.
00:02:46.000 All of that was a lie.
00:02:47.000 It was not true.
00:02:48.000 It turns out people don't predominantly think of themselves as members of a race.
00:02:52.000 They think of themselves as individuals with actual priorities.
00:02:55.000 And that's obviously true for Hispanics in America, who are shifting in large numbers toward the Republican Party.
00:03:00.000 Even among 18 to 34 year olds, that is Biden's kind of key constituency.
00:03:03.000 That is a very liberal constituency.
00:03:05.000 He has a 25% approval rating.
00:03:08.000 Again, this is according to Quinnipiac.
00:03:09.000 Those are horrible, horrible numbers for Joe Biden.
00:03:13.000 And he keeps doubling down on this stuff.
00:03:15.000 I mean, I can't point it out enough.
00:03:17.000 This is a president who came into office with a 60% approval rating and a mandate to be a moderate who was dead.
00:03:22.000 And instead, he decided to be, yes, kind of dead, but more like a zombie Bernie Sanders.
00:03:26.000 He's going to wander around the earth seeking brains and also pushing socialistic, idiotic, racialist policy.
00:03:32.000 Which is why in the middle of what appears to be a recession, it appears as though we are currently in it.
00:03:37.000 As I've said before, when people say we're not in a recession, recessions are retrospective.
00:03:41.000 You are only officially in a recession after you are in it.
00:03:43.000 Meaning you have to have two consecutive quarters of negative growth.
00:03:46.000 We already had one.
00:03:47.000 And we're not going to find out if we're in a second quarter of negative growth until probably next month.
00:03:52.000 So we could be in the middle of it right now.
00:03:54.000 And by all available indicators, it seems like we probably are.
00:03:57.000 But Joe Biden keeps doubling down.
00:03:58.000 The Wall Street Journal has a fascinating piece today talking about how Joe Biden now wants to destroy the Federal Reserve.
00:04:03.000 So the Federal Reserve, which is the thing he is relying upon to take the sting out of inflation by raising the interest rates.
00:04:09.000 He's relying on Jerome Powell to do all of his economic policy at this point.
00:04:13.000 He wants the Federal Reserve to pump up the money supply when he wants spending to be higher.
00:04:17.000 And then when inflation runs out of control, he wants the Federal Reserve to come in and lower the spending by increasing the interest rates.
00:04:24.000 Except now, Joe Biden's administration is trying to add a third priority to the Federal Reserve.
00:04:29.000 So the Federal Reserve has two priorities.
00:04:31.000 One is to keep inflation low.
00:04:33.000 The other is to keep unemployment low.
00:04:34.000 Those are the two stated priorities of the Federal Reserve.
00:04:36.000 Now, I've always argued that this is a bad idea.
00:04:39.000 I don't know why the Federal Reserve is in charge of employment data.
00:04:42.000 That makes no sense to me.
00:04:43.000 The Federal Reserve is in charge of the nation's monetary supply.
00:04:46.000 It is not their job to pump up the money or pump down the money, depending on what the unemployment rate is.
00:04:51.000 It's their job to provide a stable currency.
00:04:53.000 Hey, but we do have this dual mission for the Federal Reserve, keep unemployment low and keep inflation low.
00:04:59.000 But now Joe Biden wants to add a third priority.
00:05:02.000 What is the third priority?
00:05:03.000 Equity, equity, because equity has to be infused into all of our institutions.
00:05:06.000 Equity, of course, means doing the inefficient thing for purposes of racial redistribution.
00:05:12.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, President Biden recently promised in these pages not to interfere with the Federal Reserve.
00:05:17.000 Yet last week, he endorsed a House bill that would add racial equity to the Fed's dual mandate of price stability and full employment.
00:05:23.000 How does the White House square this contradiction?
00:05:26.000 The House bill passed last week 215 to 207 with little media notice, but it deserves special attention because it reveals how the Biden administration and Democrats plan to politicize monetary policy and financial regulation.
00:05:36.000 Recall that candidate Biden advocated making reducing racial disparities a third monetary mandate.
00:05:40.000 You have to wonder if one reason the Fed was slow to tighten the policy was because the central bankers agreed with him.
00:05:46.000 Several federal open market committee members promoted the idea of inclusive employment, even as inflation began to creep up.
00:05:52.000 Now, House Democrats want to codify racial equity as part of the Fed's mandate.
00:05:56.000 Remember, racial equity does not mean equality.
00:05:59.000 Equality means everybody gets treated the same by the law.
00:06:01.000 Racial equity means we look at the results of policy, and if there is disparate impact among racial groups, we then adjust.
00:06:09.000 Basically, the Federal Reserve becomes the great guarantor of of fairness of the universe, of cosmic justice, which of course should not be their job because that shouldn't be anybody's job because that is not the way statistics actually work.
00:06:24.000 But this bill would direct the Fed to include race in monetary policy, the operation of payment systems, the supervision of banks and non-banks deemed by the Financial Stability Oversight Council to be systemically important.
00:06:34.000 Now, it should be important to recognize here that it was because we injected race into, for example, the mortgage system, that we ended up with the 2007-2008 financial crash.
00:06:43.000 That is because Bill Clinton decided that it was very, very important that the Community Reinvestment Act Make it easier for people who were not qualified to take out loans to take out subprime loans effectively guaranteed by the federal government that artificially inflated the real estate market.
00:06:57.000 And then when it turns out people who should not be getting loans got those loans and then they couldn't repay the loans.
00:07:02.000 And all those loans had been collateralized across the economy through things like credit derivative swaps.
00:07:07.000 It turns out that you can take down an entire multinational economy that way.
00:07:12.000 But now we're going to go right back to the drawing board.
00:07:15.000 And we're going to use the Federal Reserve, which is supposed to be a nonpartisan guarantor, again, of financial stability.
00:07:21.000 We're going to use that to cram down bad policy that innately undermines all of this, that undermines financial stability.
00:07:28.000 David Henderson and Casey Mulligan have a good piece over at the Wall Street Journal today titled, Biden is Practically Engineering a Recession.
00:07:35.000 They say, a recession is sometimes defined as a decrease in employment.
00:07:38.000 Other times it's defined as a reduction in real gross domestic product for two quarters or more.
00:07:42.000 Strong labor force and productivity growth are supply-side factors that make a recession less likely, as is recovery from the pandemic.
00:07:48.000 But increased regulation and increased taxation of capital, two Biden administration policy priorities, are supply-side headwinds that make recession more likely.
00:07:56.000 And that is exactly what Joe Biden is doing.
00:07:57.000 He's talking about taxing capital at a higher rate and increasing regulation.
00:08:03.000 GDP and productivity levels were exaggerated during the pandemic as many goods were unavailable or low in quality in ways the GDP data didn't capture that right.
00:08:09.000 Even though public school teachers stayed home, for instance, national accountants assumed that they were as productive as ever, merely because they were continuing to be paid.
00:08:16.000 As they get back to traditional teaching, this won't be officially recognized as economic progress for the same reason the pandemic regress was never really acknowledged.
00:08:23.000 In normal years, workers' productivity rises by about 1%.
00:08:25.000 That alone is a strong economic tailwind causing GDP growth.
00:08:28.000 Making recession by the reduced GDP definition less likely than otherwise.
00:08:32.000 Unfortunately, Mr. Biden's economic policies will likely cause productivity growth to fall.
00:08:38.000 A 2020 analysis by one of us, Mr. Mulligan, and three co-authors concluded Biden's economic agenda would cause full-time equivalent employment per capita to be 3.1% lower than otherwise and real GDP per capita to be 8.5% lower than otherwise.
00:08:52.000 If that effect were spread over five years, the reductions relative to baseline growth would be 0.6% and 1.7% a year, respectively.
00:08:58.000 That by itself makes a recession likely in one of those five years.
00:09:03.000 And he continues to push taxes.
00:09:04.000 He continues to push regulations.
00:09:07.000 And the impact on Americans is obvious to see.
00:09:10.000 Everywhere from your food prices to your gas.
00:09:12.000 And Joe Biden doesn't have any real fix to this because to have a real fix to these problems would require him to completely shift his policy priorities.
00:09:19.000 Joe Biden continues to promote the idea that what we see in an increased gas price is some sort of massive opportunity.
00:09:27.000 So, for example, Joe Biden is talking about how he's going to solve these problems by spending $100 billion in public transit to take cars off the road.
00:09:35.000 It's clip five.
00:09:36.000 And here he is trying to explain this.
00:09:39.000 We're already building secure supply chains to build these electric vehicles here in America.
00:09:46.000 And we're investing almost $100 billion in public transit and rail.
00:09:50.000 For all the studies show that it will take millions of cars off the road and significantly reduce pollution if there's a serious transportation system available.
00:10:03.000 We're going to take down those gas prices by spending $100 billion over the course of years in order to take cars off the road with public transit.
00:10:09.000 You will be taking a bus, my friend.
00:10:11.000 I don't care where you live.
00:10:11.000 You.
00:10:12.000 You can be in L.A.
00:10:13.000 where the urban sprawl is just insane, and you might live 45 minutes from work by car, but you will be on a subway to nowhere, according to Joe Biden.
00:10:21.000 We're going to build a high-speed rail from Sacramento to L.A.
00:10:25.000 We're going to spend $100 billion.
00:10:26.000 Okay, so even assuming that would work, which it absolutely will not, It's just not going to work.
00:10:31.000 There are certain cities that are just not built for public transport.
00:10:34.000 They're not.
00:10:34.000 They're too far.
00:10:35.000 They're too spread out.
00:10:36.000 People are in different areas of the city.
00:10:38.000 It doesn't work that way.
00:10:39.000 But let's assume for a second that it did work.
00:10:41.000 You think that $100 billion investment is going to come online like today?
00:10:44.000 You think that it's going to bring down the price of gas today?
00:10:47.000 It's going to make society more livable today?
00:10:49.000 Not even close.
00:10:51.000 It's just he's the guy from The Simpsons singing the monorail song to you.
00:10:55.000 But don't worry, he has other ideas.
00:10:57.000 So his new idea to bring down the gas tax is to bring down gas prices by suspending the gas tax.
00:11:05.000 Now, this is sort of the equivalent of that time.
00:11:07.000 You remember last year, it was around July 4th, that his administration tweeted out like a 16 cent decrease in the price of a July 4th meal.
00:11:15.000 Like, ooh, look at us.
00:11:16.000 We are bringing down the cost of living.
00:11:19.000 And then, of course, over the course of the next year, the price of that meal doubled.
00:11:23.000 So now Joe Biden is doing this with gas.
00:11:25.000 So according to the White House, they are now calling for a three month federal gas tax holiday.
00:11:29.000 So this is unbelievably stupid.
00:11:31.000 It's number one stupid because it runs directly up against his own policy priorities.
00:11:35.000 So I thought the idea from these jokers was we need a global carbon tax in order to cut down on emissions.
00:11:40.000 But the minute the gas price rises, he's like, let's let's stop taxing people.
00:11:44.000 Okay, fair enough.
00:11:45.000 Maybe you should just stop taxing people.
00:11:46.000 I don't know.
00:11:47.000 Here's an idea.
00:11:48.000 What if we just stopped the gas tax entirely?
00:11:51.000 I know.
00:11:51.000 Crazy, right?
00:11:52.000 Like forever.
00:11:52.000 But no.
00:11:53.000 But here's what makes this incredibly politically stupid.
00:11:56.000 See, I own a calendar.
00:11:58.000 I know.
00:11:58.000 It was expensive.
00:11:59.000 And I'm looking at that calendar right now.
00:12:02.000 And what it's telling me is that it's currently June of 2022.
00:12:04.000 Joe Biden is calling for a three-month federal gas tax holiday.
00:12:08.000 If that were implemented, that would mean July, August, September.
00:12:11.000 It would expire in October.
00:12:15.000 Like four weeks out from a midterm election.
00:12:19.000 So you'd have the gas price increase because of the expiration of the gas tax holiday one month before the election.
00:12:25.000 Because Joe Biden is not with us.
00:12:28.000 Not particularly smart.
00:12:30.000 Well, all of this suggests that probably we shouldn't trust the federal government with the future of our money.
00:12:35.000 Which is one reason why I'm actually a fan of crypto, right?
00:12:37.000 I have some money in Bitcoin, I have some money in Ethereum, and I think that particularly the well-established coins over time are going to be a very good investment, which is why, again, I have my own money in it.

00:13:50.000 The White House put out a statement.
00:13:52.000 They said the price of gas is up dramatically around the world and by almost $2 per gallon in America since Putin began amassing troops on the border of Ukraine.
00:13:58.000 Yeah, this is all about Putin, of course, despite the fact that the gas prices have been increasing dramatically since literally the day Joe Biden took office.
00:14:04.000 President Biden understands that high gas prices pose a significant challenge for working families.
00:14:08.000 That's why he has taken action in recent months to boost the supply of oil and gas, including a historic release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which brought down gas prices by like nothing, actually.
00:14:18.000 And encouraging oil companies and refiners to boost capacities and output to get more supply on the market.
00:14:23.000 By encouraging oil companies and refiners to boost capacity, they mean Joe Biden yelled at people.
00:14:27.000 Joe Biden got on the phone, he's like, hey, Jack, I need you to boost the oil and gas in Magdalene.
00:14:33.000 And they were like, well, Mr. President, your policies are preventing people from investing in our industry because you have said repeatedly and continue to say that you wish our industry to go defunct.
00:14:42.000 And Joe Biden's like, yeah, pony soldier, let me just tell you, that was a Zip magazine name.
00:14:47.000 Well, that's not going to increase the supply of oil.
00:14:50.000 There are no refiners coming online because of people like Joe Biden.
00:14:55.000 So what is Joe Biden calling for?
00:14:56.000 He's saying the federal government charges an $0.18 tax per gallon of gasoline and $0.24 tax per gallon of diesel.
00:15:03.000 Those taxes fund critical highways and public transportation through the Highway Trust Fund.
00:15:06.000 But in this unique moment, with gas prices near $5 a gallon on average across the country, President Biden is calling on Congress to suspend the gas tax for three months until the end of September to give Americans a little extra breathing room as they deal with the effects of Putin's war on Ukraine.
00:15:18.000 If you just say it often enough, it's like Tinkerbell.
00:15:20.000 If you just clap, then this narrative will live again.
00:15:22.000 It'll just rise.
00:15:24.000 The President is also calling on Congress to make sure that a gas tax holiday has no negative effect on the Highway Trust Fund.
00:15:29.000 Why?
00:15:30.000 You can have your cake and eat it too, says Monorailman, with our deficit already down by a historic $1.6 trillion this year.
00:15:35.000 The deficit is not down because of Joe Biden.
00:15:38.000 The deficit is down, if it's down at all, because we blew out the spending in 2020-2021, and then some of that spending expired.
00:15:47.000 When he says the deficit is down, what he means is that you, on a personal level, you exceeded your credit limit by $2,000 last month.
00:15:56.000 This month, you only exceeded your credit limit by $1,000.
00:15:58.000 My goodness, you brought down the deficit by $1,000.
00:16:01.000 Congratulations to you.
00:16:04.000 This is consistent with legislation proposed in the Senate and House to advance a responsible gas tax holiday.
00:16:09.000 Joe Biden understands a gas tax holiday alone will not, on its own, relieve the run-up in costs we've seen.
00:16:14.000 But the president believes that at this unique moment, when the war in Ukraine is imposing costs on American men, he's just going to beat that dead horse.
00:16:20.000 He's going to beat that horse until it is pulp.
00:16:23.000 It's all about Putin, and it's all about Ukraine.
00:16:24.000 It is not all about Putin.
00:16:26.000 It is not all about Ukraine.
00:16:27.000 It is because of you and your bad policies that have decreased the supply of oil and gas over the course of decades.
00:16:35.000 You literally announced in the middle of the campaign you wanted there to be no more oil production.
00:16:41.000 And so they put out this dumb fact sheet.
00:16:43.000 And then Congress is like, yeah, we're not going to do that because that's really stupid.
00:16:46.000 Even some Democrats are saying we're not particularly interested in this end to the gas tax because we understand that it's not actually going to accomplish anything.
00:16:53.000 But that's not going to stop Joe Biden.
00:16:55.000 By the way, how dumb is this idea?
00:16:57.000 Circa 2008, Barack Obama was decrying the idea of a gas tax holiday when there was a gas spike in the middle of the recession of 2007-2008.
00:17:03.000 Like, this is a gimmick.
00:17:05.000 That's it.
00:17:06.000 Mm-hmm.
00:17:07.000 Yes.
00:17:10.000 I know that we're having a debate right now about the gas tax holiday.
00:17:13.000 For us to suggest that 30 cents a day for three months is real relief, that that's a real energy policy, means that we are not tackling the problem that has to be tackled.
00:17:30.000 We are offering gimmicks.
00:17:32.000 When we're offering the same thing that John McCain's offering on the cheap, that means we're not presenting a truthful response to the challenges that we face in America.
00:17:43.000 We can do better than that this time.
00:17:47.000 We can do better.
00:17:48.000 By the way, his version of we can do better is let's fund green energy and completely decrease the supply of oil and natural gas until our asses get saved by the fracking bros up in Pennsylvania and Texas.
00:17:59.000 Which is exactly what happened with America's oil and gas supply.
00:18:02.000 No thanks to Barack Obama.
00:18:05.000 And now, House and Senate Democrats are like, we're not going to do this.
00:18:08.000 Even they are looking at this and they're like, we're not going to do this.
00:18:10.000 But that's not going to stop Joe Biden.
00:18:12.000 Joe Biden's going to yell at the moon.
00:18:13.000 Like Grandpa Simpson, he's just going to yell at things.
00:18:16.000 So my favorite part of this is where he starts yelling.
00:18:18.000 He did a press conference yesterday.
00:18:19.000 And at this press conference, he yelled at the gas stations.
00:18:22.000 He's like driving past an Exxon station.
00:18:24.000 and he's like, lower the, bring it down, bring it down, this one.
00:18:29.000 And I love the optics.
00:18:29.000 Yeah.
00:18:31.000 I just, I love the optics of how he does these things.
00:18:35.000 And it's worth noting, behind him is a picture of a, of one of the billboards that you see at a gas station, right?
00:18:42.000 There's a sign that shows the prices.
00:18:43.000 And then behind him is a, are three words, lower gas prices.
00:18:48.000 Like as though he's going to hypnotize the gas stations and no longer their prices, despite the fact that he has restricted their ability to increase supply.
00:18:58.000 I mean, honestly, the guy, the ads against this guy cut themselves.
00:19:00.000 All you have to do is show this screen of Joe Biden with the slogan, lower gas prices behind him.
00:19:08.000 And then a clip of him saying that he doesn't want to produce any more oil.
00:19:10.000 Like this is, this is, this is child's play.
00:19:13.000 Here was Joe Biden yelling at gas stations.
00:19:15.000 A strategy, if ever I've heard one.
00:19:19.000 My message is simple.
00:19:20.000 To the companies running gas stations and setting those prices at the pump.
00:19:26.000 This is a time of war.
00:19:28.000 Global peril.
00:19:30.000 Ukraine.
00:19:31.000 These are not normal times.
00:19:33.000 Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you are paying for the product.
00:19:40.000 Do it now.
00:19:41.000 Do it today.
00:19:42.000 Why aren't you?
00:19:46.000 Bring down the price.
00:19:47.000 So I look forward to him talking.
00:19:50.000 The sun requires a stern talking to you.
00:19:52.000 This whole global warming thing, I feel like it's very solvable if only the sun would listen to Joe Biden.
00:19:57.000 I mean, really, he could actually, like, do a dance.
00:20:00.000 He could go out in the streets, he could do a dance, maybe sacrifice a couple of goats, and talk to the sun about what's going on right now.
00:20:07.000 Why don't you lower your prices?
00:20:11.000 Well, maybe the reason they didn't lower their prices is because you've restricted the ability of refineries to operate in the United States.
00:20:17.000 Maybe it's because you have suggested that investment in any of these industries will be a complete fail because all of these industries are going to be put under the boot of the American government under people like Joe Biden.
00:20:26.000 Maybe that would be the problem.
00:20:28.000 So, you tell them not to produce more oil and gas, and then you undercut the ability for them to do this, and then you yell at them.
00:20:35.000 I'm sure this is going to work.
00:20:36.000 Just yelling at things is totally going to work.
00:20:38.000 Old man yells at you is a real interesting presidential strategy, Mr. President.
00:20:42.000 OK, then he tries this other gambit.
00:20:44.000 He tries to pretend that we don't understand what's going on.
00:20:46.000 So he says, well, you know, if you are upset with the high price of gas, that's just because you want Putin to win.
00:20:52.000 Um, so I would just like to point out at this point that Putin invaded Ukraine in large measure because Joe Biden signaled to Vladimir Putin that the United States would not act with alacrity if he did so.
00:21:04.000 Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in the first place because we pulled out of Afghanistan and handed over a country with whom we were allied, a government with whom we were allied.
00:21:11.000 We handed it over to a bunch of 8th century barbarians who rape women and keep them in bags in the basement.
00:21:17.000 Because of him.
00:21:18.000 And Vladimir Putin looked at that and said, this is a weak horse and I will try to take Ukraine.
00:21:23.000 So combine the fact that the Ukrainian invasion is at least partially the responsibility of a president of the United States who's so weak on the world stage that Vladimir Putin looked him down and said, I'm going to just take this country right in front of you.
00:21:35.000 Combine that with the fact that Joe Biden and his administration have backed, politically, the destruction of the American oil and natural gas industry as a matter of utopian policy.
00:21:45.000 And then he's telling you that it's your fault that the gas prices are high?
00:21:48.000 That you want Putin to win?
00:21:49.000 By the way, worth noting here, Putin is raking in the money off oil and natural gas hand over fist.
00:21:54.000 Hand over fist right now.
00:21:55.000 Because he's selling it to India, he's selling it to China.
00:21:58.000 The fact that there's undersupply in the West is why Putin is still able to support his war.
00:22:02.000 Your garbage green policy.
00:22:03.000 This is what happens when you outsource your energy and economic policy to a 17-year-old, whiny, Swedish, scoldy teenager.
00:22:11.000 How dare you?
00:22:12.000 She says, how dare you?
00:22:13.000 And you start jumping for the, oh, well, I guess we better not pump any gas anymore.
00:22:16.000 I mean, otherwise, Greta would be very angry with us.
00:22:19.000 Oh, oh, she'll yell at us.
00:22:21.000 And she'll be very scoldy.
00:22:22.000 She'll take her boat over here across the ocean.
00:22:24.000 Oh, no.
00:22:25.000 And then you, and then you blame us?
00:22:27.000 You blame us?
00:22:28.000 Try again.
00:22:30.000 Well, it turns out that outsourcing your energy policy to a school-dy Swedish teen is a bad idea.
00:22:36.000 And here's the thing, if you own a company, outsourcing any of your jobs to a person who's not up to the task, it's a problem.
00:22:41.000 So, you know, a lot of the time we outsource the production of this show to our friends over in Nashville.
00:22:46.000 And there's a disembodied voice named Jonesy who each morning plays clips into my ear.
00:22:50.000 You can control the cameras from his perch high atop the Daily Wire towers over in Nashville.
00:22:55.000 It's actually a single story building over in Nashville.
00:22:57.000 But without Jonesy, the show would just not run the same.
00:23:00.000 Here's the thing.
00:23:01.000 We need more employees like Jonesy, which is why we here at Daily Wire use ZipRecruiter.

00:23:53.000 Here's Joe Biden blaming you.
00:23:54.000 The gas prices are your fault.
00:23:57.000 For all those Republicans in Congress criticizing me today for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine?
00:24:06.000 Are you saying we were wrong to stand up to Putin?
00:24:09.000 Are you saying that we would rather have lower gas prices in America and Putin's iron fist in Europe?
00:24:17.000 I don't believe that.
00:24:19.000 Okay, um, no.
00:24:20.000 What we are saying is that you have deliberately created policies that make it hard to produce more oil and refine more oil.
00:24:28.000 We are saying that your garbage foreign policy incentivized Vladimir Putin to miscalculate and invade Ukraine in the first place.
00:24:35.000 We are saying you have no exit plan from Ukraine.
00:24:37.000 All of these things are true.
00:24:38.000 You're gonna blame us?
00:24:40.000 And now they're doing the same thing with Joe Biden, but it ain't playing because here's the thing.
00:24:43.000 Barack Obama was good at this game.
00:24:44.000 Joe Biden is very bad at this game.
00:24:45.000 don't understand.
00:24:46.000 And the media would cheer, they would drool, they would drool and cheer.
00:24:49.000 And now they're doing the same thing with Joe Biden, but it ain't playing.
00:24:52.000 Because here's the thing, Barack Obama was good at this game.
00:24:54.000 Joe Biden is very bad at this game.
00:24:56.000 It turns out that when you wheel out the corpse of an 80-year-old man to mumble at you, and then he's gonna yell at you.
00:25:04.000 Or whisper at you?
00:25:05.000 Or whisper yell at you?
00:25:07.000 That doesn't change policies, it doesn't change minds, and it doesn't convince anyone.
00:25:12.000 I'm amazed at the level of whistling past the graveyard, almost literally, for this administration.
00:25:19.000 Karine Jean-Pierre, the untalented press secretary who replaced the more talented but similarly dishonest Jen Psaki.
00:25:25.000 She said yesterday, guys, you know what?
00:25:28.000 We're good.
00:25:29.000 Lowering that gas tax is going to be a little long.
00:25:31.000 We're going to be great.
00:25:34.000 He sees this as an opportunity, a straightforward, simple way to deal with the pain that the American people is dealing with, giving them some relief at the pump.
00:25:45.000 That's what we're talking about.
00:25:47.000 It's straightforward.
00:25:48.000 It's simple.
00:25:49.000 The president would like Congress to act.
00:25:52.000 We're talking about, you know, 18 cents per gallon, which is going to go a long way.
00:25:58.000 If you look at the average of states, that's 30 cents.
00:26:01.000 Just looking at those two things, that's almost 50 cents.
00:26:05.000 That's going to go a long way for three months.
00:26:07.000 That's it.
00:26:08.000 Three months.
00:26:09.000 Oh, wow.
00:26:10.000 I mean, for three months, we're going to lower your average at the pump by 18 cents.
00:26:16.000 Well, I mean, color me satisfied.
00:26:19.000 Sounds great to me.
00:26:20.000 I mean, that means that over the course of a month, I might save 10 bucks over the course of a month, thanks to her.
00:26:24.000 That's gonna...
00:26:27.000 You're solving all my problems, lady.
00:26:29.000 Meanwhile, you got Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell saying, well, you know, they keep blaming Ukraine for inflation.
00:26:35.000 Remember, it was Joe Biden and company who just did this.
00:26:37.000 I mean, the entire White House press release about the gas taxes, Putin-Ukraine, Putin-Ukraine, Ukraine-Putin.
00:26:42.000 And Jerome Powell is asked, so what's driving the inflation?
00:26:44.000 Is it Putin-Ukraine?
00:26:45.000 Jerome Powell's like, no.
00:26:47.000 Given how inflation has escalated over the past 18 months, would you say that the word Ukraine is the primary driver of inflation in America?
00:26:55.000 No, inflation was high before, certainly before the war in Ukraine broke out.
00:27:01.000 Oh, well that's, oh, well, uh, well that's awkward.
00:27:05.000 That's awkward, isn't it?
00:27:06.000 Jennifer Granholm, the Energy Secretary, she was asked about this, because of course she has also been claiming that it's Putin's price hike and all the rest of this garbage, and she's like, yeah, I didn't, you know, I never heard Powell say that, so he must not have said it, says Jennifer Granholm.
00:27:19.000 I didn't hear what he said on that, but I think most people acknowledge that the price of fuel is a big driver of inflation.
00:27:27.000 And in fact, they've put large percentages on it.
00:27:30.000 And so we know that the war in Ukraine, having driven up the price of fuel because it crimps supply, it's a total supply and demand question.
00:27:41.000 She's an expert in supply and demand, Jennifer Granholm, which is why she keeps insisting that if you just keep buying electric cars, then it's going to solve the crisis.
00:27:48.000 By the way, good luck on buying an electric car.
00:27:49.000 I ordered a Tesla like a year ago and it still hasn't arrived.
00:27:53.000 The supply chain problems have not alleviated.
00:27:55.000 So thanks again to this wonderful administration.
00:27:58.000 Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve now tasked with the unenviable policy of having to achieve racial equity, low inflation, and low unemployment.
00:28:06.000 We're just going to put that out there.
00:28:08.000 Why don't we just make Jerome Powell emperor of the universe?
00:28:10.000 Seriously, I mean, if he can control all those things, why do we even have an elected government?
00:28:14.000 I don't even know.
00:28:15.000 I mean, these are like the most important things, right?
00:28:17.000 Racial equity and low inflation and low unemployment.
00:28:20.000 Why do we even bother having a legislature?
00:28:22.000 We don't even need a president.
00:28:23.000 We just need this guy, Jerome Powell.
00:28:26.000 Well, the problem is that when you give all power to somebody like Jerome Powell to control the giant levers of the American government, it didn't turn out that great.
00:28:34.000 Because this guy was responsible for the inflation of the American economy to the point where we have 40-year high inflation.
00:28:39.000 Then we left him in charge, which is just amazing to me.
00:28:41.000 I mean, this is, you hired an Uber driver.
00:28:44.000 He promptly drove the car off a cliff.
00:28:47.000 You're in the backseat.
00:28:48.000 He drove a car off the cliff.
00:28:49.000 Somehow you survive.
00:28:50.000 And he survived.
00:28:51.000 But the car is completely wrecked at the bottom.
00:28:53.000 And then you're like, man, I don't have a car anymore.
00:28:54.000 I still have to get to where I'm going.
00:28:56.000 Can I hire you to drive me?
00:28:59.000 That's pretty much what we did with Jerome Powell and company over at the Federal Reserve.
00:29:02.000 So, Jerome Powell yesterday was testifying in front of Congress, like, we're not trying to create a recession, but I mean, honestly, we can't really be sure we won't.
00:29:07.000 Well, that's encouraging.
00:29:09.000 Thank you, Jerome.
00:29:11.000 On the inflation side, we're very far from our target.
00:29:14.000 So we think that we have to restore price stability to put the economy back in a place where in the medium and longer term we can have a sustained period of what we would call maximum employment.
00:29:28.000 So that's how we're thinking about it.
00:29:30.000 We're not trying to provoke and don't think that we will need to provoke a recession, but we do think it's absolutely essential that we restore price stability, really for the benefit of the labor market as much as anything else.
00:29:45.000 So, by the way, the S&P 500 took this ill.
00:29:47.000 So yesterday, the S&P 500 and the Dow went down after Powell talked to Congress because everybody's like, oh no.
00:29:54.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S.
00:29:56.000 stocks edged lower Wednesday after Jerome Powell acknowledged the central bank's rate-raising campaign could cause an economic downturn.
00:30:03.000 By the way, Powell keeps blaming demand.
00:30:04.000 He keeps saying, well, you know, it's just too high demand that's driving inflation.
00:30:07.000 It's not the fact that we printed the money.
00:30:09.000 Jerome?
00:30:10.000 I noticed that the demand started to increase dramatically when you started printing the money.
00:30:14.000 These two things are interrelated.
00:30:15.000 Here is the Federal Reserve Chair.
00:30:18.000 Both factors are principally at work here.
00:30:20.000 You couldn't get this kind of high inflation without strong demand, and you certainly couldn't get it without the kind of supply issues that we've had, both in the labor market, reflected in high wages, and then in the goods market, reflected in what's happened with Durable goods and cars in particular you look there.
00:30:37.000 There's a it's been this driven by semiconductor shortage Okay.
00:30:42.000 Meanwhile, Karine Jean-Pierre is basically, so the Biden administration again, it's their bad economic policy that has helped cause all of this, but they're telling you about all the good things they're doing for you.
00:30:50.000 Like they say, you know, no one's been, no one's had to pay a single dime of student loans under this president.
00:30:55.000 Oh, right.
00:30:56.000 Because you mean that, um, for the last several years, we have been illegally postponing the ability of people to actually get their loans paid off.
00:31:03.000 Like we did that based on a pandemic that is no longer a major factor in American life.
00:31:07.000 And this administration keeps pushing it.
00:31:10.000 They just keep telling us how good we have it, and I've noticed that no one believes it.
00:31:14.000 We're still continuing.
00:31:16.000 The President, the administration, to assess options of cancellation.
00:31:20.000 We have not made a decision yet.
00:31:22.000 As the President said just recently, I think on Sunday, he expects to make a decision on that soon.
00:31:28.000 I do want to add, no one has been required to pay a single dime of student loans since the President took office, which is 41 million borrows, provided 20 billion in targeted debt relief to 1.3, They're just going to tell you how great you have it.
00:31:50.000 In essence, they're going to say the same thing that the Washington Post's Michelle Singletary said yesterday on national TV.
00:31:54.000 She was saying, you know what?
00:31:56.000 You're all whining about inflation.
00:31:57.000 You're all whining about your costs.
00:31:58.000 You're all whining about the fact that the economy seems to be sinking like the Titanic after it struck an iceberg.
00:32:04.000 You know what?
00:32:04.000 You guys never had it so good.
00:32:06.000 Everything is fine.
00:32:07.000 Shut up.
00:32:09.000 There are Americans who did extremely well in the last two years in the market.
00:32:13.000 You still have your job.
00:32:15.000 And yeah, it's costing you more for gas, but guess what?
00:32:18.000 You are still going to take that holiday, that 4th of July vacation.
00:32:21.000 You could still eat out.
00:32:22.000 So I'm going to need you to calm down and back off because it feeds into this fear.
00:32:27.000 And then this fear feeds into people making decisions that creates the very thing that they're fearful of.
00:32:34.000 And if you're in that category, calm down.
00:32:38.000 Calm down guys.
00:32:39.000 Everything is fine.
00:32:40.000 Everything.
00:32:40.000 Well, here's the thing.
00:32:41.000 Democrats are in a position of electoral responsibility.
00:32:44.000 They are not following along with the media's playbook here.
00:32:47.000 So Joe Manchin, who is a Democrat in a Republican state, a very Republican state, a state in which Joe Biden's approval rating is beneath that of cancer.
00:32:55.000 Joe Manchin, he's now saying, build back better is gone, man.
00:32:58.000 You think I'm going to vote for any of Joe Biden's major policy priorities at this point?
00:33:01.000 Yeah, try again.
00:33:02.000 By the way, he's been saying this for a year and the media keep going back to him.
00:33:05.000 Joe, are you going to change your mind?
00:33:05.000 No, he's not going to change his mind.
00:33:07.000 What would make him change his mind?
00:33:08.000 Joe Biden's massive popularity?
00:33:11.000 We're not going to spend any more money, I can assure you that.
00:33:14.000 We've spent enough.
00:33:14.000 We're $30.5 trillion of debt.
00:33:16.000 We've got to get our debt under control.
00:33:18.000 If you want to get inflation under control, control your debt.
00:33:20.000 Are you and Leader Schumer still talking about Build Back Better?
00:33:22.000 No, I talked to everybody.
00:33:24.000 You talked to everybody, but specifically about Build Back Better?
00:33:26.000 No, Build Back Better is gone.
00:33:33.000 There's no Build Back Better, it's gone.
00:33:35.000 Well, that sad trombone is the sound of the Biden administration.
00:33:39.000 You know, Mark Kelly, who's running in Arizona for re-election.
00:33:43.000 Again, he's running in a state where Joe Biden's approval ratings are really low.
00:33:46.000 Kelly has to sort of run as a Kyrsten Sinema knockoff if he wishes to retain his seat.
00:33:50.000 And so now he's running directly against Joe Biden.
00:33:53.000 When you've got Democrats running directly against their own president, that is never a particularly good sign for the White House.
00:33:59.000 Arizona families are facing tough choices, like how to fill the gas tank and the grocery cart.
00:34:04.000 And things people count on can be hard to find.
00:34:07.000 We can't afford to wait this out.
00:34:09.000 So I'm pushing for solutions today, even if it means taking on my own party.
00:34:14.000 Like bringing down gas prices by allowing more domestic oil production, temporarily ending the gas tax, and cutting red tape to restock shelves faster.
00:34:23.000 I'm Mark Kelly, and I approve this message because I'll do whatever it takes to lower costs now.
00:34:30.000 Okay, so that is Mark Kelly running directly against his own party.
00:34:33.000 Things are going just fantastically for the Democrats.
00:34:36.000 By the way, quick note on a Democrat for whom the media now mourns.
00:34:42.000 That'd be Andrew Gillum.
00:34:42.000 Remember that time that Andrew Gillum was a rising star in the Democratic Party?
00:34:46.000 So among the rising stars the media have chosen in the Democratic Party over the past few years are Stacey Abrams, who lied for several years about being governor of Georgia.
00:34:53.000 You have Beto O'Rourke, who has now lost every position up to and including dog catcher that he has run for.
00:34:58.000 He is running out of New Mexican dirt to eat after his defeat.
00:35:02.000 And Andrew Gillum, who, by the way, narrowly, narrowly lost, I mean really narrowly, like by 30,000 votes, lost an election to Ron DeSantis.
00:35:09.000 Think how different the state of Florida and the nation would be if Andrew Gillum had actually won that race promoted by the media.
00:35:14.000 He was an extremist on every issue from economics to foreign policy.
00:35:19.000 And he has spent the last several years demonstrating full scale why the media cannot be trusted to pick your favorite candidates.
00:35:23.000 Because as it turns out, Andrew Gillum has spent the last few years, since running for governor, being caught in a hotel room with an overdosed gay escort and meth.
00:35:34.000 And now, being federally indicted for fraud, according to Axios, Gillum was indicted Wednesday on 21 counts connected to campaign wire fraud.
00:35:42.000 The indictment alleges that Gillum and co-defendant Sharon Letman-Hicks conspired to commit wire fraud in connection with a scheme to divert donations back to Gillum for personal use, per a Justice Department press release.
00:35:51.000 Now, you'll remember that during this time, there were serious, like when he was being elected, when there were questions about the election, there were serious questions that were being asked about bribery and wire fraud and all the rest.
00:36:00.000 And all of his defenders are like, it's just Hamilton tickets.
00:36:02.000 I mean, what are you so worried about Hamilton tickets for?
00:36:04.000 Well, now it turns out that he's under a federal indictment.
00:36:06.000 Their alleged efforts, which took place between 2016 and 2019, included diverting some funds the pair solicited to a company owned by Letman Hicks via third parties and channeling them in the form of payroll payments to Gillum.
00:36:17.000 Gillum and Letman Hicks have been charged with 19 counts of wire fraud.
00:36:20.000 Gillum has been charged with making false statements to the FBI.
00:36:22.000 The defendants face a maximum of 20 years in prison for charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, 20 years for wire fraud, five years for making false statements.
00:36:32.000 So, once again, well done on the media picking only the best.
00:36:36.000 They care about you, folks.
00:36:37.000 It's not that they have their priorities.
00:36:38.000 They care about you.
00:36:39.000 And they only objectively pick the best candidates to back.
00:36:42.000 All right, in just one second, we'll get to gun control.
00:36:45.000 The Republicans are now joining the gun control push, at least in mild part.
00:36:49.000 But they're being promoted by a media that is just lying to you.
00:36:53.000 We'll get to that in a second.
00:36:54.000 Well, Andrew Gillum is probably losing some sleep these days over the possibility of spending 25 years in federal prison.

00:38:08.000 I mean, we released What Is A Woman, we released Terror On The Prairie starring Gina Carano.
00:38:13.000 You remember that she was cancelled by Disney and then we uncancelled her because that kind of crap don't stand in Daily Wire world.
00:38:19.000 We're not the only ones who feel like Now Gina is uncancellable.
00:38:22.000 Yesterday in an op-ed for the Daily Mail, Meghan McCain praised Gina for her fearlessness in defying the corporate Hollywood snake and joining us in our fight to claim back the culture.
00:38:30.000 Meghan actually writes, quote, The Daily Wire have created a new avenue for artists that have the financial and audience backing to allow them to create on their own terms to Gina.
00:38:37.000 That's the future.
00:38:38.000 Well, that's our future that she's talking about right there.
00:38:41.000 And that's why The Daily Wire, I mean, we are on high gear.
00:38:44.000 We've got What Is A Woman, the number one documentary in America.
00:38:46.000 We've got series like Debunked, in which I debunk All the common arguments of the left.
00:38:51.000 All of that is yours when you become a member of The Daily Wear and you're helping us with the mission that Megan is talking about, taking the fight to the bad guys.
00:38:57.000 Just go to DailyWear.com slash Ben.
00:38:59.000 Use code Ben for 25% off your new membership.
00:39:01.000 Today, there's going to be so much more available.
00:39:03.000 Man, I can't wait for some announcements in the very near future.
00:39:06.000 Head on over to DailyWear.com slash Ben.
00:39:08.000 Use code Ben for 25% off your new membership.
00:39:10.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:39:14.000 So the gun control push is in full swing, despite the fact that we now know that the Uvalde situation, the Uvalde mass shooting was almost completely the fault of local police responding in the most derelict and disgusting fashion I think anyone has ever seen.
00:39:34.000 We now know that they were there for like 12 minutes between the time that this person, the shooter, crashed his car and the time he entered the school, and they were unable to prevent him from entering the school.
00:39:44.000 Once he was in the school, they could have gone to the door.
00:39:46.000 Instead, they waited for an hour and 14 minutes.
00:39:47.000 It's a mess.
00:39:48.000 But the media have their gun control agenda, and they're going to push it no matter what.
00:39:51.000 And they're going to do so with really kind of bizarre data points.
00:39:55.000 So there's an article in the New York Times on the front page of the website of the New York Times.
00:39:58.000 It was titled, Who Stops a Bad Guy with a Gun?
00:40:02.000 This article is wildly misleading.
00:40:03.000 So they show a chart.
00:40:05.000 It says how 433 active shooting attacks ended.
00:40:08.000 So they say 249 attacks ended before the police arrived.
00:40:13.000 148 and 184 attacks ended after the police arrived.
00:40:16.000 And then they break that down further.
00:40:18.000 So for the 184 attacks that ended after the police arrived, according to the New York Times, in 131, the police shot the attacker 98 times and subdued the attacker another 33 times.
00:40:28.000 In 53, the attacker died by suicide 38 times and surrendered 15 times.
00:40:33.000 Okay, but what they want you to focus on is the 249 attacks that ended before the police arrived.
00:40:38.000 They want to say that the majority of mass shootings ended before the police arrived, which just goes to show you that gun control is the solution.
00:40:45.000 Because if the solution to a mass shooting is either the cops or a bystander with a gun, Then this means that the proper solution is for people who are responsible to have guns.
00:40:54.000 They're trying to convince you that what's actually happening here is that mass shooters are basically just kind of giving up.
00:40:58.000 They're just like, you know, we're done.
00:41:00.000 So, this chart shows 249 attacks ended before the police arrived.
00:41:04.000 In 185, the attacker left the scene 113 times and died by suicide 72 times.
00:41:07.000 scene 113 times and died by suicide 72 times. In 64, a bystander subdued the attacker 42 times and shot the attacker 22 times. Okay, so what they are saying is that about 180, it's the 185 figure they want you to focus on, that the attacker either committed suicide or left the scene for no reason.
00:41:26.000 There's only, and the idea here again, the title of this article is who stops a bad guy with a gun.
00:41:29.000 And what they're saying is the only thing stopping a bad guy with a gun is the bad guy.
00:41:33.000 It's not a good guy with a gun.
00:41:34.000 It's not the threat of a good guy with a gun.
00:41:36.000 It's the bad guy himself, which demonstrates that if the bad guy didn't have a gun, then this stuff would not occur in the first place.
00:41:43.000 Now, granted that if I had a magic wand and every bad person in the United States couldn't get a gun, I'd go for it.
00:41:49.000 It sounds great.
00:41:50.000 Every criminal and prospective criminal, if I had the minority report power to predict in full who is going to commit a mass shooting and wave my wand, and those people would not only not have guns, I mean, we know there are going to be mass shooters, they just end up in prison, then great.
00:42:02.000 Sounds fantastic.
00:42:03.000 Ability does not exist, nor is that ability constitutional or in consonance with individual rights.
00:42:08.000 So, the question becomes, what is the best tailored policy?
00:42:10.000 The New York Times puts out these stats, and the stats are gimmicked.
00:42:14.000 This is jerry-rigged statistics here.
00:42:18.000 Here's why I say this.
00:42:19.000 Because when you actually dig down, what you see, here's what they say.
00:42:22.000 They say police officers shoot or physically subdue the shooter in less than one-third of attacks.
00:42:26.000 And then they give some examples of this sort of stuff.
00:42:29.000 And then they say bystanders stop some attackers more often with physical force than with a gun.
00:42:35.000 And then they say one in four attacks ends with a shooter's suicide.
00:42:39.000 And then they say one in four attackers leaves the scene, though most are later caught.
00:42:43.000 And this is where you start to see them gaming the system.
00:42:45.000 Quote, about a quarter of shootings ended when the attacker or attackers stopped of their own accord and left the scene.
00:42:50.000 Then were apprehended or died by suicide in another location.
00:42:53.000 Well, you know, they just decide, what?
00:42:55.000 You think they just decided to be nice people that day?
00:42:57.000 That's what happened.
00:42:58.000 They murdered a bunch of kids and then they just are like, you know what?
00:43:02.000 I'm done here, I guess.
00:43:03.000 I guess I'm just done here.
00:43:04.000 Many attacks that end when the shooter flees are spontaneous.
00:43:07.000 For example, one may stem from a dispute that escalates when one party pulls out a gun.
00:43:11.000 In San Antonio in 2019, a man had a disagreement with the staff of a moving company, then opened fire on the company's workers before running away.
00:43:17.000 The police apprehended him later without incident.
00:43:19.000 Last year, a man who was kicked out of a nightclub in Wichita, Kansas after a fight, returned and shot six people, killing one.
00:43:24.000 He fled the scene.
00:43:25.000 Police arrested him a month later in Phoenix.
00:43:28.000 Many premeditated attacks also ended when the attacker or attackers left the scene.
00:43:32.000 After a gunman shot 34 people in 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, he dropped his weapon and fled the school with other students, bypassing police officers who had arrived on the scene but had not yet attempted to intervene.
00:43:44.000 In El Paso, a gunman shot 45 people, killing 23 in a Walmart before fleeing the scene.
00:43:47.000 The police arrested him down the road without incident.
00:43:50.000 Why attackers stop themselves is a hard thing to know, says one expert.
00:43:54.000 But after studying years of shooters, he has some guesses.
00:43:58.000 One is that sometimes shooters plan a dramatic confrontation with the police that doesn't happen.
00:44:01.000 Another possibility is that the reality of their action sets in.
00:44:04.000 Or is it possible they think the police are showing up and they want to leave before the police show up?
00:44:08.000 And the possibility of a threat of a gun ending an attack seems completely foreign to the New York Times.
00:44:15.000 And this is something that advocates of the Second Amendment have long said.
00:44:18.000 The whole point of a gun is to never use it.
00:44:21.000 That is the point of a gun.
00:44:23.000 Even in confrontations with bad guys.
00:44:25.000 It's not a good guy with a gun shoots a bad guy with a gun and stops him.
00:44:27.000 That's last resort.
00:44:29.000 The typical idea is that the threat of a good guy with a gun stops the bad guy with a gun.
00:44:33.000 This is why, for example, heavy police presence in high-crime areas tends to prevent crime.
00:44:38.000 Are those people voluntary?
00:44:39.000 According to the New York Times, that would just be people voluntarily giving up crime.
00:44:41.000 I mean, they never had a confrontation with the police.
00:44:43.000 Or is it possible that when you have more people with guns to intimidate the people who would do bad things, they don't do the bad things?
00:44:51.000 And the New York Times is falsifying the stats by suggesting that people magically and randomly just decide to commit suicide or leave the scene of a mass shooting just through the goodness of their own heart.
00:45:00.000 You can see this throughout this dumb article where they're slicing, and this is just a clear misclassification.
00:45:06.000 And they're doing it on purpose.
00:45:08.000 They're clearly doing it on purpose.
00:45:10.000 And they give another example, right?
00:45:12.000 One of the examples they use is pretty amazing, right?
00:45:14.000 So they're talking about, in more than a quarter of episodes, the attackers ended the shootings by turning the guns on themselves.
00:45:20.000 After shooting 471 people at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas from a hotel room overlooking the festival, the gunman died by suicide before the police arrived to his room.
00:45:30.000 By the way, before the police arrived to his room is a pretty relative term.
00:45:32.000 They were running up the stairwell like he knew they were coming.
00:45:36.000 His guns jammed and he knew they were coming.
00:45:38.000 That's why he committed suicide.
00:45:39.000 But the idea here is that we have to pretend now that gunmen actually are just sort of randomly stopping.
00:45:45.000 So the only thing that actually stops a bad guy with a gun is a bad guy with a gun as opposed to a good guy with a gun or the possibility of a good guy with a gun.
00:45:53.000 That's really dumb and it's really dishonest.
00:45:55.000 And it just shows you how you can play, you really can play havoc with statistics so long as you are willing to deliberately misclassify things.
00:46:01.000 And you see the media just drawing wrong conclusions, deliberately incorrect conclusions from bad statistical calibration.
00:46:07.000 This is a perfect example of it.
00:46:08.000 It's literally on the front page of the New York Times website today.
00:46:12.000 It's supposed to tell you that the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is gun control regulation.
00:46:16.000 It is not true.
00:46:17.000 Even in the data that they are citing.
