The Ben Shapiro Show - Prepare For The Left’s Revenge | Ep. 1169

00:00:00.000 Trump acknowledges his defeat and pledges a peaceful transition of power.

00:00:03.000 Joe Biden and Kamala Harris issued divisive statements ripping the police.

00:00:07.000 And Facebook permanently bans Trump while leftists call for more censorship.

00:00:10.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:10.000 I'm Ben Shapiro, this is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:14.000 Today's show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:19.000 Don't let others track what you do.

00:00:20.000 Keep yourself safe at ExpressVPN.com.

00:00:24.000 Slash Ben.

00:00:24.000 We'll get to all the news in just a moment.

00:00:26.000 And the Newsweek continues to be extraordinarily packed and devastatingly bad.

00:00:31.000 Basically across the board.

00:00:32.000 We'll get to more of that in one second.

00:00:33.000 First, a reminder.

00:00:34.000 Did you know that your family can save over $800 a year just by switching to PeerTalk from Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile?

00:00:40.000 Think about it.

00:00:41.000 What could your family do with an extra $800?

00:00:43.000 You don't have to sacrifice coverage.

00:00:44.000 Pure Talk has the exact same coverage, same bars as one of the big carriers, but they are going to charge you half of what you'd normally be paying, one of those giant carriers.

00:00:51.000 And you don't have to sacrifice customer service either.

00:00:53.000 Their team is based right here in the United States.

00:00:55.000 They're some of the nicest people you will ever talk to.

00:00:57.000 Get unlimited talk, text, two gigs of data for just 20 bucks a month.

00:01:01.000 If you go over on data usage, they're not going to charge you for it.

00:01:03.000 Right now, you're probably paying for unlimited data.

00:01:04.000 You're not using unlimited data because it is not possible to use unlimited data.

00:01:08.000 Instead, get two gigs of data, Plus unlimited talk, unlimited text, and if you go over on data usage, you're not gonna be charged for it, 20 bucks a month.

00:01:14.000 Grab your mobile phone, dial pound 250, say Ben Shapiro.

00:01:18.000 When you do, you save 50% off your first month.

00:01:20.000 Dial pound 250, say my name, Ben Shapiro.

00:01:23.000 Pure Talk is simply smarter wireless.

00:01:25.000 You're really spending too much on the telephone bill right now.

00:01:27.000 And again, why not have the same coverage, same buyers as one of the big carriers for like half the price and 50% off your first month when you dial pound at 250 and save.

00:01:35.000 Ben Shapiro gets started with Pure Talk USA right now.

00:01:38.000 Okay, so here is the update on the news.

00:01:41.000 The update on the news.

00:01:42.000 Overnight, a Capitol Police officer died from injuries that were sustained after clashing with the mob over at the Capitol building, according to NBC News.

00:01:52.000 A U.S. 0.66

00:01:52.000 Capitol Police officer died Thursday after being injured in clashes with pro-Trump rioters in the Capitol the day before. 0.66

00:01:57.000 Officer Brian Sicknick was injured while physically engaging with protesters Wednesday, returned to his division, and then he collapsed.

00:02:03.000 He was taken to a hospital.

00:02:03.000 He died about 9.30 p.m.

00:02:05.000 on Thursday.

00:02:06.000 Sicknick joined the Capitol Police in 2008.

00:02:08.000 He's the fifth person to die from Wednesday's violent clash in Washington.

00:02:11.000 Of course, there was a woman who was shot to death by Capitol Police during the middle of the riot.

00:02:15.000 And then there were three other people who died of unspecified medical emergencies over the course of the riot.

00:02:19.000 His death will be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington.

00:02:22.000 Sicknick most recently served in the Capitol Police Department's First Responder Unit, according to a statement from the Capitol Police.

00:02:30.000 News of the officer's death comes shortly after Capitol Police Chief Stephen Sund resigned amid criticism of the department's response to rioters who broke through the barricades, vandalizing the building and clashing with police.

00:02:39.000 Now, as we now know, we know that Mayor Muriel Bowser was not interested in having a vast police presence.

00:02:44.000 We know that the feds were also concerned about ticking off the protesters or rioters or something, which is absolute insanity.

00:02:50.000 This is a failure at every level.

00:02:51.000 There needs to be a full investigation as to why there were not more officers on the grounds, why the response took hours on end.

00:02:58.000 And all those videos that you've seen of the officers removing barricades in order to let people through, it was not in order to let people through.

00:03:03.000 It was because they were consolidating their lines. 0.89

00:03:06.000 This will become relevant a little bit later on in the program when we discuss the pathetic notion that the police treated these rioters with kid gloves because they were white. 0.98

00:03:13.000 This has now become the talking point du jour of the Democratic Party, and it's disgusting. 0.95

00:03:18.000 We'll get to that in a moment.

00:03:19.000 First, other news.

00:03:21.000 There are a bunch of Trump cabinet officials who have now resigned.

00:03:24.000 Elaine Chao, who is the Secretary of Transportation and wife of Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, temporarily, she has now resigned her post.

00:03:31.000 Also, Betsy DeVos resigned her post as well.

00:03:34.000 DeVos said in a letter, there is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, is what she said to President Trump.

00:03:34.000 Ms.

00:03:41.000 She said, we should be highlighting and celebrating your administration's many accomplishments on behalf of the American people.

00:03:45.000 Instead, we are left to clean up the mess caused by violent protesters overrunning the U.S.

00:03:48.000 Capitol in an attempt to undermine the people's business.

00:03:51.000 That behavior was unconscionable for our country.

00:03:53.000 There's no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation.

00:03:55.000 That is the inflection point for me.

00:03:57.000 Naturally, the left is not meeting any of these people with open arms.

00:04:00.000 They're not suggesting, and neither are moderates, neither are the media.

00:04:03.000 Nobody is suggesting that the folks who are resigning from the Trump administration over this incident ought to get any credit for doing so.

00:04:08.000 Instead, because they were in the Trump administration in the first place, the idea is that they are very bad.

00:04:13.000 And this lends itself to the second narrative of the day, which is that if you voted for Trump, if you're conservative in any way, if you don't believe any of the woke nonsense pushed by the left, this means that you are part of the problem.

00:04:22.000 You are equivalent to the people who rioted and broke into the Capitol building.

00:04:25.000 Now, let me be clear about something.

00:04:27.000 The vast majority of people who are at the protest are not even equivalent to the rioters who broke into the Capitol building.

00:04:31.000 The vast majority of people who went to that protest believed something that was not true about the voter fraud and voter irregularity allegations made by Trump.

00:04:40.000 Many of them believed something that wasn't true about the congressional ability to overturn the election.

00:04:46.000 But they were there because they believed, I think, in certain patriotic fashion, that the election ought to be upheld in a true and proper way.

00:04:57.000 Now, their definition of true and proper I don't think was factually based, but those people were not the people who were committing acts of criminality.

00:05:03.000 There's about a couple thousand people probably broke into the Capitol building, and to equate even the tens or hundreds of thousands of people who were at that rally with Trump to the people who broke into the Capitol building would be conflating everybody in a way that's not true.

00:05:15.000 So certainly it's even more true that people who were not at the rally, who did not believe what Trump was selling or what Josh Hawley was selling, all the people who did not believe that the election was stolen, and certainly all the people who voted for Trump are not to blame for what happened here, yet that is the narrative that is being drawn by the media.

00:05:32.000 Every good conservative is now being lumped in with the people who decided to violate the heart of the democracy.

00:05:38.000 And by the way, it is more... I'm hearing some rumblings on the right today.

00:05:41.000 Well, you know, they just wrecked a building.

00:05:43.000 What's the big deal?

00:05:43.000 I mean, BLM wrecked buildings all throughout the summer.

00:05:46.000 And BLM not only wrecked buildings, they put businesses out of business.

00:05:50.000 I mean, Congress was back in session by the evening.

00:05:52.000 There's truth to that.

00:05:53.000 It also happens to be the fact that this was an insurrection because this was an overt attempt to stop the business of government from going forward.

00:06:00.000 Now, it's not a coup, as some people have been defining it, because the military was not involved.

00:06:03.000 There was no official move to attempt to remove the senators.

00:06:07.000 There was no official attempt to actually overturn the election.

00:06:11.000 That actually didn't happen.

00:06:12.000 Okay, but the basic notion here that it was not a big deal, that obviously is not true either.

00:06:19.000 So as always, many things can be true at once, but the one thing that is certainly true is that there's about 90% unity in this country.

00:06:25.000 I would assume higher, maybe 95% unity.

00:06:28.000 That breaking into the Capitol building and running roughshod through that building is bad.

00:06:31.000 That that is a problem.

00:06:32.000 As you'll see, the left is now refusing to acknowledge that.

00:06:35.000 Because the left sees a way to make a political gain here.

00:06:40.000 And the way to make a political gain is to take the bad people who broke into the Capitol building and did violence and attacked police officers and lump them in with literally everybody on the right.

00:06:50.000 So those are the two dueling narratives that we are going to get from the left over the coming months, over the coming years.

00:06:54.000 It's going to have significant ramifications for your life.

00:06:57.000 Because what they're going to do is they're going to suggest one, That every bad thing is part and parcel of the white supremacist nation that is the United States.

00:07:05.000 A point made by both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris yesterday.

00:07:08.000 These were the captains of unity.

00:07:09.000 They're going to bring the country together, right?

00:07:11.000 Joe Biden keeps saying unity, unity, unity.

00:07:13.000 And then he turns around and he parrots, woke Okay, so that's point number one.

00:07:18.000 And then narrative number two is that everybody on the right is guilty for what happened.

00:07:22.000 And if you voted for Trump, you knew this was going to happen.

00:07:24.000 This is part and parcel of it.

00:07:25.000 You wanted this to happen.

00:07:27.000 This is part and parcel of what Trumpism was.

00:07:31.000 Right, that simply voting against the left, simply voting against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and AOC and Nohan Omar and all the rest of the crew, that doing that meant that you were okay with what happened at the Capitol building.

00:07:42.000 That is the second narrative.

00:07:43.000 And that, of course, is gonna lead to censorship, as we'll get to.

00:07:46.000 Okay, well, the big news of the day amid all of this is that the White House acknowledged that President Trump had lost the election.

00:07:53.000 Again, the reality is that Trump should have done this months ago.

00:07:55.000 Okay, he had every opportunity to explore every legal option.

00:07:59.000 Once the Electoral College voted, We were done.

00:08:02.000 Once the states had certified their votes within the safe harbor provision by law, there was no way to overturn the results of the election.

00:08:07.000 Plus, once again, I know this is unpopular, but it happens to be the truth.

00:08:11.000 The Trump campaign did not provide the necessary evidence to overturn any of the electoral results in any of those states.

00:08:16.000 They just didn't.

00:08:18.000 They had their hearings.

00:08:19.000 They had their court hearings.

00:08:20.000 In many states, they didn't even allege that there was voter fraud.

00:08:22.000 That includes Pennsylvania.

00:08:24.000 This election was over after the Electoral College voted.

00:08:28.000 Okay, just as purely technically as possible.

00:08:30.000 After the Electoral College voted, the election was over.

00:08:33.000 Okay, but it is good that the White House has now acknowledged that fact.

00:08:37.000 So yesterday, Kayleigh McEnany, the White House Press Secretary, she got up and she condemned the attack on the Capitol building.

00:08:44.000 I am here to deliver this message on behalf of the entire White House.

00:08:49.000 Let me be clear.

00:08:50.000 The violence we saw yesterday at our nation's Capitol was appalling, reprehensible, and antithetical to the American way.

00:08:58.000 We condemn it, the president and this administration, in the strongest possible terms.

00:09:04.000 It is unacceptable and those that broke the law should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

00:09:10.000 OK, and everybody was asking, OK, so where's Trump in all this?

00:09:13.000 Why doesn't Trump say something?

00:09:14.000 Well, last night, Trump did say something after his Twitter account was reinstated.

00:09:19.000 He put out a two minute, 30 second video in which he acknowledged that the election was over and that he had lost and that Joe Biden would be inaugurated on January 20th.

00:09:27.000 He pledged himself to a peaceful transition of power and he ripped into the rioters.

00:09:32.000 Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness, and mayhem.

00:09:39.000 I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders.

00:09:48.000 America is and must always be a nation of law and order.

00:09:52.000 The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy.

00:09:59.000 To those who engaged in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country.

00:10:06.000 And to those who broke the law, you will pay.

00:10:09.000 Okay.

00:10:10.000 And then President Trump went on to acknowledge that he had in fact lost the election and that Joe Biden was going to be inaugurated.

00:10:16.000 Now Congress has certified the results.

00:10:18.000 A new administration will be inaugurated on January 20th.

00:10:22.000 My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly, and seamless transition of power.

00:10:28.000 This moment calls for healing and reconciliation.

00:10:33.000 Okay, in just a second, we're gonna get to the response by the left to all of this.

00:10:37.000 So, now there's unity, right?

00:10:39.000 Unity should break out.

00:10:40.000 We now have widespread unity across the land.

00:10:43.000 Rioting in the Capitol building is wrong.

00:10:45.000 People should pay, legally, for breaking into the Capitol building, for threatening duly elected senators, congresspeople, the vice president of the United States, for attacking police officers.

00:10:57.000 One police officer is dead.

00:11:00.000 There's widespread agreement about all of these things, right?

00:11:03.000 The president has now acknowledged that he lost the election.

00:11:05.000 He has committed himself to a peaceful transfer of power, which, again, should have happened weeks ago, but it's good that he's doing it now, obviously.

00:11:12.000 So, this should be a time of unity, right?

00:11:14.000 This should be a time when we all come together, because we all agree there will be a transition of power on January 20th.

00:11:19.000 The election has been legally constituted.

00:11:22.000 Attacking the Capitol building is bad.

00:11:24.000 All of these things are perfectly obvious to, when I say the vast majority of Americans, I mean nearly all Americans at this point.

00:11:30.000 The country's ready to move forward.

00:11:32.000 So, you think the left is going to allow this opportunity to pass untaken advantage of?

00:11:38.000 I think not.

00:11:38.000 Every crisis is an opportunity when it comes to the left, and that includes The so-called unifying Biden administration.

00:11:44.000 We'll get to that in just one moment because this is really, truly gross stuff.

00:11:48.000 We'll get to that in a moment.

00:11:49.000 First, let's talk about something that's not gross.

00:11:50.000 Let's talk about something wonderful, something happy, something distracting.

00:11:52.000 I'm talking, of course, about waffles.

00:11:54.000 OK, so I love waffles.

00:11:56.000 You love waffles.

00:11:56.000 Who doesn't love waffles?

00:11:57.000 Only bad people don't like waffles.

00:11:59.000 Every Sunday morning, this has become a tradition now in the Shapiro household, we break out our Presto Stuffed Waffle Maker. 0.78

00:12:19.000 Better than you'll get at a restaurant because you can make it yourself.

00:13:16.000 Okay, so again, this could have been the moment, right?

00:13:18.000 The moment where we all came together because we're moving on, right?

00:13:22.000 I mean, the Trump administration is done in less than two weeks.

00:13:28.000 It's now January 8th.

00:13:29.000 The inauguration is January 20th.

00:13:30.000 We have 12 days until the inauguration.

00:13:33.000 And Trump has now pledged that he is going to hand over power peacefully, which of course he should, since every single president in the history of the United States has done so, going back to George Washington.

00:13:43.000 And he has acknowledged the results of the election.

00:13:45.000 He has acknowledged that the Electoral College has voted and done its work.

00:13:50.000 So we're done there.

00:13:51.000 And we're done with the rioting.

00:13:53.000 Because the reality is that, number one, the police are actually going to do their jobs this time.

00:13:57.000 They're going to be provided with the sort of numbers they need in order to quash all of this.

00:14:02.000 And there's widespread sentiment on the right that this was deplorable and horrible and bad and gross in every way, that you don't get to break into the Capitol building and threaten Congress people and attack police officers and do all this kind of stuff.

00:14:13.000 Frankly, I think there was an enormous amount of shock on the right that people who even identified as right-wing would do this sort of stuff.

00:14:19.000 I mean, you'll remember back a few months ago, the typical thought on the right was that if Biden lost, that there would be riots in the streets, which, by the way, certainly would have happened.

00:14:27.000 But then if Trump lost, there probably would not be any of that.

00:14:29.000 So I think a lot of people on the right were duly shocked to see what happened the other day.

00:14:34.000 And I don't think they're wrong to be shocked to see what happened the other day, obviously.

00:14:38.000 So that means that there is widespread consensus that bad things are bad and that good things are good and that time moves on and that there will be a new president on January 20th, right?

00:14:46.000 This would be the moment when Joe Biden should come out and he should say, we're all in agreement.

00:14:50.000 This is a dark day for the country.

00:14:52.000 Now we can move forward together because we all agree that people who violate criminal law should go to jail.

00:14:57.000 Instead, instead, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris decided to go precisely the opposite direction.

00:15:02.000 They decided that they were going to rip open wounds for political gain.

00:15:05.000 Which is just awful behavior.

00:15:08.000 Awful behavior.

00:15:09.000 It is terrible.

00:15:11.000 Because, again, these people are going to be in charge of the executive branch of the federal government for the next four years, and they are signifying that in a moment when we could all come together, at a moment when, as they say, in their belief, the nightmare is over, bright new day, dawning, and all this stuff.

00:15:25.000 This is the Biden line.

00:15:28.000 Their claim.

00:15:29.000 Could have been.

00:15:30.000 Okay, well now we're moving forward in unity, arm in arm.

00:15:33.000 This sort of stuff can happen again, but here's the problem.

00:15:36.000 The left has allowed this sort of stuff to happen for months, just in a different context.

00:15:41.000 The left, for months, catered to Black Lives Matter rioters and to Antifa rioters in Portland.

00:15:46.000 For months, they suggested that federal officers on the ground in Portland were actually creating the problem, even though the riots preexisted, the federal officers in Portland, and then continued after the federal officers left.

00:15:59.000 So Joe Biden decided that it was time to actually polarize the country still further.

00:16:04.000 Because every crisis is an opportunity.

00:16:06.000 So Biden gave a speech yesterday in which he attacked Trump.

00:16:09.000 And he didn't just suggest that what Trump had done over the last couple of months was really bad.

00:16:14.000 Instead, what he suggested is that Trump had launched an assault on our democracy from the very beginning, from the very beginning of his administration, right?

00:16:19.000 So now the implication is that anyone in either election, 2016 or 2020, who supported Trump Should have known that this sort of stuff was going to happen.

00:16:27.000 Should have known that this was the way that things were going to end.

00:16:31.000 Everyone is guilty.

00:16:32.000 Everyone is guilty.

00:16:33.000 Here is Biden effectually condemning half the country.

00:16:35.000 I wish we could say we couldn't see it coming.

00:16:42.000 But that isn't true.

00:16:45.000 We could see it coming.

00:16:47.000 The past four years, we've had a president who's made his contempt for our democracy, our Constitution, the rule of law clear in everything he has done.

00:17:01.000 He unleashed an all-out assault on our institutions of our democracy from the outset.

00:17:08.000 And yesterday was but the culmination of that unrelenting attack.

00:17:12.000 OK, well, I mean, let's be realistic about this as well.

00:17:15.000 There are folks on the left cheering on the 1619 riots, cheering them on.

00:17:19.000 Right.

00:17:19.000 Nicole Hannah-Jones said she was proud that these were the 1619 riots and people were burning down businesses and assaulting people and in some cases, you know, killing people.

00:17:28.000 In the case of David Dorn, the ex-police officer in St.

00:17:30.000 Louis.

00:17:32.000 The attacks on our institutions are not on one side here.

00:17:35.000 And the implication here, of course, that Biden is attempting to draw, is that if you voted for Trump because you liked his policies or because you didn't like what the left was presenting, then you were complicit in this because you should have known all along that it was going to end with people breaching the Capitol building in an incident that has no historic parallel in the last 50 years.

00:17:51.000 I mean, like, what?

00:17:53.000 Okay, so the only goal there, what's the goal there?

00:17:55.000 What's the goal there?

00:17:56.000 Like, what's he attempting to do?

00:17:57.000 What he's attempting to do, pretty obviously, is polarize the country so that he can suggest that everybody who agrees with him is on the side of the angels and everybody who doesn't disagree with him is on the side of the people who breached the Capitol.

00:18:06.000 That's what he's attempting to do.

00:18:07.000 But he goes even further, Joe Biden.

00:18:09.000 He goes even further, because it's important now not to polarize us only along political lines, but along racial lines. 0.88

00:18:15.000 So there was this woke bull**** talking point that was going around yesterday. 0.81

00:18:18.000 It was rocketing around cable news, it was rocketing around the internet. 0.93

00:18:22.000 Every NBA player was tweeting it out.

00:18:24.000 And this nonsense point was the idea that if these had been Black Lives Matter rioters who had tried to break into the Capitol building, there would have been mass carnage and mass death.

00:18:32.000 And that the police officers treated everybody with kid gloves up on Capitol Hill the other day.

00:18:37.000 Now, this is a lie.

00:18:38.000 I mean, it's just an overt lie.

00:18:39.000 It's a lie, number one, because the Capitol Police did not treat people with kid gloves the other day.

00:18:43.000 I mean, according to reporters on the ground, ranging from Tina Nguyen over at Vanity Fair to Julio Rosas over at Town Hall, from the left to the right, there's widespread acknowledgement the police were firing tear gas at people, the police were involved in physical altercations with people, the police were drawing their weapons on people.

00:18:57.000 A woman was shot to death in the halls of the Capitol.

00:19:01.000 That is not treating with kid gloves.

00:19:03.000 And all that video of the police removing barricades, they're removing barricades because that is typical security protocol if you don't want the barricades used against you and if you cannot consolidate your lines and you don't have enough officers.

00:19:12.000 People who are suggesting, by the way.

00:19:14.000 Why weren't there more arrests made on site?

00:19:15.000 Because there weren't enough police officers in the first place.

00:19:18.000 When you arrest somebody, the police officer has to leave with the person they are arresting.

00:19:23.000 Also, all these people were on tape.

00:19:24.000 Watch.

00:19:25.000 In the coming days, I'm sure there will be dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of people, who are arrested for their activities in the Capitol building.

00:19:30.000 I would imagine there will be hundreds of people who are arrested for what they did in the Capitol building.

00:19:35.000 And as for the other side of that coin, that BLM was treated with some sort of market viciousness by the police throughout the country, that's just a lie.

00:19:43.000 It's not true.

00:19:44.000 Washington, D.C.

00:19:45.000 had widespread rioting for days and weeks And widespread, people running roughshod through the streets, breaking into stores, stealing things, assaulting people.

00:19:54.000 We saw all the videos at the time.

00:19:55.000 You know how many rioters were killed by the police during the Washington, D.C.

00:19:58.000 Zero.

00:19:58.000 protests?

00:19:59.000 There were more people who were killed during the Capitol storming than were killed during the Washington riots.

00:20:06.000 By the way, I don't see anybody painting a street in Washington, D.C., QAnon.

00:20:11.000 I don't see anybody painting a street in Washington, D.C., Stop the Steal.

00:20:16.000 And yet when Black Lives Matter riots took over Washington, D.C., when they burned a church near the White House, when they did all that stuff, the mayor of D.C., Muriel Bowser, ordered that the words Black Lives Matter be painted in giant yellow letters visible from space on public streets.

00:20:33.000 She ordered that a plaza be renamed Black Lives Matter Plaza.

00:20:36.000 Every corporation in America woke-scolded its own employees and told them they needed to post black squares in solidarity with the idea that America is a systemically racist country.

00:20:45.000 Politicians from right to left put out these nonsensical statements about how America was cruel and vicious with regard to black Americans.

00:20:54.000 Meanwhile, police were defunded in cities across the country or told to stand down.

00:20:58.000 Entire city streets in Seattle were turned over to the tender predations of the folks of BLM in Antifa. 0.98

00:21:04.000 The city of Los Angeles was shut down for a week.

00:21:07.000 Rodeo Drive was closed at 1 p.m.

00:21:09.000 so that BLM rioters could run roughshod through the city. 0.93

00:21:12.000 Melrose Avenue was burned.

00:21:14.000 So you're telling me that the cops were vicious and brutal with BLM rioters and protesters?

00:21:19.000 In what way?

00:21:20.000 In what way?

00:21:21.000 And as for the media, the media treated these people as though they were heroes.

00:21:25.000 Chris Cuomo asked, why should protests be nonviolent?

00:21:28.000 Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, she said, you know, this is, they're supposed to make you uncomfortable.

00:21:32.000 That's the goal here.

00:21:34.000 The entire culture swung behind BLM.

00:21:37.000 I was there.

00:21:38.000 The attempt to gaslight us here by suggesting that everybody was irreproachably tough on BLM is such nonsense. 1.00

00:21:45.000 It's garbage. 0.99

00:21:46.000 There were videos of police officers kneeling with the protesters, kneeling with them. 0.99

00:21:50.000 Don't give me that the police officers at the Capitol building, one of whom died, 16 of whom were injured, that those police officers were being super-duper kind to these people because they were white.

00:22:00.000 There were police officers who were kneeling with the people who were calling them systemically racist.

00:22:06.000 There were mayors who were going out into crowds of people who were declaring that they were representatives of an evil system and kowtowing to them.

00:22:15.000 There were white people who were doing acts of supplication before black people all over the country.

00:22:23.000 People literally on their knees in a mode of repentance to black people, even though they'd never sinned against a black person. 0.54

00:22:31.000 And yet BLM is the victim here?

00:22:34.000 Somehow you turn this into a racial thing?

00:22:36.000 How?

00:22:37.000 And the only answer is, when it comes to the left, there's always just a couple of arguments.

00:22:41.000 And I say that this whole situation has resulted in a couple of arguments from the left.

00:22:45.000 One is that America is systemically racist, and the other is that conservatives should be shut up.

00:22:49.000 Well, dirty secret. 0.89

00:22:51.000 Those are always the same two answers for every leftist problem.

00:22:54.000 It doesn't matter what the predicate is, the conclusion is always the same.

00:22:59.000 It's not if X, then Y. If any letter, then Y. Right?

00:23:03.000 If the sky is blue today, then America is systemically racist and conservatives should be shut up. 0.99

00:23:08.000 If you didn't tie your shoes this morning, then America is systemically racist and you should shut up. 0.99

00:23:12.000 Right? 0.88

00:23:12.000 These are the conclusions of every single argument. 0.88

00:23:17.000 Every.

00:23:18.000 Single.

00:23:19.000 One.

00:23:20.000 We'll get to Joe Biden doing this. 0.99

00:23:21.000 I mean, it's deeply divisive crap. 0.99

00:23:23.000 It's deeply divisive. 0.99

00:23:25.000 This whole week has been so disappointing and horrifying in every way.

00:23:28.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.

00:23:30.000 First, let's talk about the fact that you need to preserve your family memories.

00:23:34.000 This is something important you can do for your family, right?

00:23:36.000 Every ad is now like a breath of fresh air, I think.

00:23:39.000 Yeah, the fact is that there's something really nice, because ads are about nice things you can do for people.

00:23:43.000 Here's a nice thing you can do for somebody.

00:23:44.000 You can make sure that their memories are preserved.

00:23:46.000 So, out in your garage, you have film.

00:23:48.000 You got old pictures.

00:23:48.000 It's falling apart.

00:23:49.000 They're falling apart.

00:23:50.000 Why not have all that stuff digitized and preserved forever?

00:23:53.000 Start the new year off, right?

00:23:54.000 Give your aging home movies, photos, and film reels a modern update so that they are organized and easy to share with friends and family.

00:23:59.000 Did you know videotape recordings weren't made to stand the test of time?

00:24:02.000 They start diminishing after 10 to 15 years.

00:24:04.000 Also, you don't have VCR anymore, so why do you still have VHS tapes with family movies on them?

00:24:08.000 You're never going to be able to watch them.

00:24:09.000 Legacy Box makes reconnecting with your past as easy as pressing play.

00:25:09.000 Okay, so...

00:25:10.000 Here is the rest of what Joe Biden had to say.

00:25:12.000 So after suggesting that Trump launched an assault on democracy from the very first day that he was in office, which means that all of his voters should have known this was going to happen.

00:25:20.000 They're all guilty along with him of everything that has gone on.

00:25:22.000 This, by the way, is not an uncommon talking point on the left, as we'll see.

00:25:25.000 He also suggested that the Capitol Police are viciously racist.

00:25:29.000 Now, you may have looked at the incident at the Capitol and seen a bunch of white people storming the Capitol, one of them getting shot, a bunch of people going to get arrested.

00:25:36.000 And you may have said to yourself, look, it looks like the Capitol Police were overwhelmed.

00:25:39.000 I can't believe they didn't have enough people there.

00:25:40.000 Looks like security protocols need to be overhauled.

00:25:43.000 Or you could be an insane person and suggest this has something to do with systemic American racism.

00:25:47.000 Naturally, Joe Biden is going to do the latter. 0.87

00:25:50.000 No one can tell me that if had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, there wouldn't have been, they wouldn't have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol.

00:26:07.000 We all know that's true.

00:26:09.000 And it is unacceptable.

00:26:11.000 Totally unacceptable. 0.54

00:26:13.000 No, we don't all know that's true because it's nonsense. 0.97

00:26:16.000 It is nonsense.

00:26:17.000 The entire media apparatus, the entire governmental apparatus, cities around the country, allowed BLM free reign in their cities.

00:26:25.000 They painted the city streets.

00:26:27.000 They paid homage.

00:26:28.000 They marched with them.

00:26:29.000 Mitt Romney was marching with BLM, for God's sake.

00:26:32.000 Don't give me that BLM had done something like this.

00:26:35.000 Well, that would have been, I mean, I can't even imagine if BLM had, they burned cities.

00:26:39.000 Okay, look, what are you talking about?

00:26:42.000 They ran roughshod through Kenosha.

00:26:44.000 And the media cheered.

00:26:45.000 The media suggested this was all just an outburst of passion because of systemic American racism.

00:26:50.000 And now you're saying this is somehow about Capitol Police being racist.

00:26:52.000 And then Kamala Harris, another unifying figure, get ready for the unity to break out. 0.99

00:26:56.000 By the way, again, these two arguments are sort of the same. 0.98

00:27:00.000 America is systemically racist and you should shut up. 0.77

00:27:03.000 All of this is papered over with the talk of unity. 0.94

00:27:05.000 Because I'm not going to unify with either of those propositions.

00:27:08.000 But the idea is that if you don't unify with those propositions, you are the one breaking unity.

00:27:11.000 Because it is perfectly obvious to everyone that this was somehow about race.

00:27:16.000 In no way was this about race.

00:27:19.000 What?

00:27:21.000 What?

00:27:21.000 Okay, but here is Kamala Harris, another deeply unifying figure, saying exactly the same thing.

00:27:27.000 We witnessed two systems of justice when we saw one that let extremists storm the United States Capitol and another that released tear gas on peaceful protesters last summer.

00:27:46.000 The American people have expressed, brightly, outrage.

00:27:52.000 We know this is unacceptable.

00:27:56.000 We know.

00:27:57.000 We should be better than this.

00:28:00.000 Okay, so I have a question.

00:28:01.000 I mean, really, I have a serious, a logical question here.

00:28:03.000 So, according to Kamala Harris, should the police have used tear gas on the protesters at both, or should they have used tear gas on the protesters at neither?

00:28:10.000 Serious question.

00:28:11.000 Because they used, in reality, they used tear gas on the protesters at both, right?

00:28:15.000 And the rioters at both.

00:28:17.000 In reality, the police have been pretty consistent with regard to their use of force here, and they did use probably more force with regard to the Capitol.

00:28:26.000 A person got shot and is dead.

00:28:28.000 They used more force at the Capitol than they did with regard to BLM protests all around the nation, where there are pictures of cops literally standing by and just letting people run around burning businesses.

00:28:37.000 Okay, but put that aside.

00:28:38.000 Just on a purely logical level, when she says that we have a double system of justice here, where protesters were gassed in front of the White House if they were BLM, but then they were not gassed if they stormed the Capitol, is the idea here that we should have let the people storm the Capitol, and we should have let people protest freely with burning churches near the White House?

00:28:55.000 Like, which one is it?

00:28:56.000 Should we have tear-gassed both?

00:28:58.000 Okay, so again, there's no logic to this. 0.98

00:29:00.000 The entire thing is a divisive emotional appeal designed to suggest that everybody who supports Trump and supported Trump back during the election cycle, no matter what he did over the subsequent two months, and no matter what you said over the subsequent two months, and no matter whether you think that the people who breached the Capitol are idiots and criminals, that no matter what you do, no matter what you said, you were complicit. 0.97

00:29:19.000 And not only were you complicit in the violence, you were complicit in racism, right? 0.99

00:29:24.000 You are a racist as well, because America is racist as well. 0.90

00:29:28.000 It's horrifying stuff, because again, this is a moment where we should all agree on the things. 0.97

00:29:34.000 I don't know how many times over the past several years I've said this, where there's an issue that happens, and I'm like, you know what?

00:29:38.000 It seems like we should all be able to agree on this.

00:29:40.000 And then you poll Americans, and they do all agree on it.

00:29:42.000 And then our politicians, and I think sometimes on both sides of the aisle, but at this point, really on the left with this kind of stuff, then the politicians immediately turn it into something political.

00:29:54.000 When it came to COVID, it was like, why is this political?

00:29:56.000 We're all trying to deal with a global pandemic.

00:29:58.000 And then immediately it turned into, America is systemically racist. 0.98

00:30:00.000 Like, what the hell? 0.99

00:30:02.000 Again, COVID. 1.00

00:30:03.000 The two solutions from the media and from your Democratic politicians were, America is systemically racist and shut up. 0.99

00:30:09.000 When it comes to climate change, it's America is systemically racist and shut up. 0.99

00:30:12.000 When it comes to tax policy, it's America is systemically racist and shut up. 0.99

00:30:16.000 Okay, so in a second, we're gonna get to the second message here, which is shut up. 0.98

00:30:19.000 We've done America Systemically Racist.

00:30:21.000 Now we're gonna get to shut up in just one moment.

00:30:24.000 First, let us talk about something new and wonderful.

00:30:29.000 Again, every ad break is gonna be a breath of fresh air throughout today's program, and maybe over the coming couple of weeks.

00:30:37.000 Let's talk about how you can get healthy in an awesome, awesome way.

00:31:59.000 That is E-C-H-E-L-O-N fit.com slash Ben.

00:32:04.000 Okay, so the second part of the two step that has been pushed here by the media and it's been pushed by politicians is shut up, right? 0.92

00:32:14.000 So the first part was America systemically racist and conservatives are bad. 0.93

00:32:19.000 And the conclusion, of course, is shut up. 1.00

00:32:21.000 The conclusion is shut up. 0.95

00:32:22.000 So Trump has been banned from Facebook indefinitely.

00:32:25.000 Not only was Trump banned from Facebook, by the way, so Dan Bongino had his account removed on Facebook temporarily because he posted the video of Trump a couple of days ago during the riot talking about how he wanted people to go home peacefully and then adding in a bunch of stuff about how the election was stolen.

00:32:38.000 So just for reposting a video from the President of the United States, For just reposting it.

00:32:43.000 His account was removed.

00:32:45.000 Facebook has now announced that Trump's account is going to be completely removed from Facebook.

00:32:49.000 Now look, Facebook is a private company.

00:32:51.000 Facebook can do whatever it wants to do.

00:32:53.000 Does that mean that the spirit of free speech and civic engagement can thrive when you have big tech bros who have decided what is available to you and what is not available to you?

00:33:03.000 And if you think this is gonna stop with Trump, you are dead wrong.

00:33:05.000 In a second, I'm gonna show you how far this is gonna go.

00:33:09.000 The truth is that Jack Dorsey and Zuckerberg They've had their fingers on the trigger with regard to Trump for a very, very long time.

00:33:16.000 And we all knew that basically the day after the inauguration, both of them were going to attempt to ban Trump.

00:33:21.000 Well, they're going to do it a little bit early.

00:33:24.000 According to the Washington Post, Zuckerberg said Thursday the social media giant is banning Trump indefinitely, marking a dramatic escalation of the conflict between Silicon Valley and the White House after Trump weaponized the web to help stoke a riot at the U.S.

00:33:34.000 That's the Washington Post.

00:33:34.000 Capitol.

00:33:35.000 Zuckerberg wrote, we believe the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great.

00:33:41.000 Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.

00:33:49.000 Okay, now, you don't have to agree with anything Trump has posted, anything he has posted in order to recognize this is a horrific precedent, a really bad precedent.

00:33:58.000 Imagine, during those BLM riots, if Facebook had decided, you know what, there's a lot of criminality and violence that's going around right now, like a lot of it.

00:34:06.000 In fact, so much so that anybody who even mildly excuses any of the criminality or violence, anybody who tries to justify any of that stuff, even if they say, stay peaceful, but they try to justify that violence, or they say the underlying argument is good, we'll just ban them.

00:34:18.000 Because after all, the risk of criminality is higher than the value of the free speech.

00:34:24.000 How would that go?

00:34:25.000 You think that'd be good for the country?

00:34:26.000 Or very, very bad for the country?

00:34:28.000 Shutting down the modes and mechanisms of conversation is a bad idea.

00:34:32.000 If Facebook believes itself to be an open source for communication, opening minds to ideas, it can't put itself in the business of banning ideas or banning figures, even if Facebook doesn't like what they are saying.

00:34:45.000 According to the Washington Post, Facebook's suspension marked the most aggressive penalty any social media company has meted out to Trump over his four-year term, a period in which he has repeatedly peddled falsehoods, attacked critics, and spread divisive rhetoric online.

00:34:56.000 Twitter on Wednesday also suspended Trump for 12 hours.

00:34:59.000 The company's first-ever blockade lifted on Thursday morning.

00:35:01.000 By evening, Trump resumed tweeting, sharing a video that acknowledged the new administration's soon-to-be inaugurated.

00:35:07.000 The tech giants took the rare aggressive steps after a violent mob stormed the House and Senate Wednesday, forcing lawmakers into lockdown.

00:35:13.000 Now, the reality is that if Trump had won the election, this wouldn't have happened.

00:35:17.000 Right?

00:35:18.000 If Trump had won, they wouldn't be banning his accounts.

00:35:20.000 The reason they're banning his accounts is because they're attempting to, in pretty cynical fashion, stave off legislation from a Democrat-led Senate.

00:35:28.000 Even if the Republicans held the Senate, I think that they probably wouldn't have done this.

00:35:31.000 The reason that they are doing this is because they believe that if they appease the Democrats, if they start using their tech platforms in order to shut down alternative points of view, then the Democrats will leave them alone.

00:35:41.000 In other words, if they just become part of the mainstream establishment media apparatus, echoing only the messages of the Democratic Party, then the Democrats will not regulate them.

00:35:49.000 Senator Mark Warner said, while I'm pleased to see social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube take long belated steps to address the president's sustained misuse of their platforms to sow discord and violence, these isolated actions are both too late and not enough.

00:36:01.000 Disinformation and extremism researchers have for years pointed to broader network-based exploitation of these platforms.

00:36:07.000 There we go.

00:36:08.000 That's where it is.

00:36:09.000 So Mark Warner is saying basically anybody who has ever in a video said anything good about Trump or even didn't say anything about Trump, but somebody watched their video and then watched a Trump video, We can look at the research.

00:36:20.000 The research, by the way, is nonsense.

00:36:22.000 We can look at the research and we can see that these mainstream commentators, you know, the Jordan Petersons or the Dave Rubins or the Ben Shapiros or the Glenn Becks, that all these people, they're part of the problem.

00:36:31.000 All you're going to have to do is just prevent all those people from speaking freely on social media.

00:36:36.000 It ain't going to stop with Trump.

00:36:37.000 It's going to start with Trump.

00:36:40.000 Jennifer Palmieri, Hillary Clinton's former communications director, tweeted, it does not escape my attention that the day social media companies decided there actually is more they could do to police Trump's destructive behavior was the same day they learned Democrats would chair all the congressional committees that oversee them.

00:36:52.000 She happens to be correct about this. Now, Facebook and Twitter originally used to make exceptions for public figures with regard to some of their rules, which makes sense, because how exactly are we going to know what they said and then hold them accountable?

00:37:04.000 I mean, it's amazing.

00:37:06.000 It truly is amazing that the standards that are now being set up seem to assume there were no repercussions to Trump's behavior over the past four years.

00:37:13.000 He lost the election.

00:37:14.000 That seems like a pretty major repercussion considering that he is the first president to serve only one term since George H.W.

00:37:20.000 Bush and the first president since Jimmy Carter to serve only one term without a major third-party candidate taking 15-20% of the vote.

00:37:30.000 But this is what the media want.

00:37:31.000 The media are just, this is the beginning, right?

00:37:33.000 This is the beginning.

00:37:33.000 The beginning is they ban Trump and then they ban you.

00:37:36.000 That is the next thing to happen.

00:37:38.000 For example, the Washington Post says, even though Facebook suspended Trump on Thursday, pro-Trump pages and groups with tens of thousands of members, including one called Joe Biden is not my president, which is hidden from public view, quickly mobilized in support.

00:37:49.000 Facebook has cracked down on some of the most pervasive and violent conspiracy theories.

00:37:53.000 The social media company's belated efforts have also had the effect of pushing many of the group's leaders to alternative social platforms like Parler.

00:37:59.000 There we go.

00:38:00.000 So, bottom line is, ban everyone.

00:38:00.000 at Harvard Kennedy's School's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy said, quote, he's part of a much larger system of disinformation.

00:38:08.000 As a result, taking action against Trump is symbolic in some ways, but unless they consistently apply these rules to media manipulators and disinformers, this is going to keep happening.

00:38:17.000 There we go.

00:38:18.000 So bottom line is ban everyone, ban everyone. 0.99

00:38:21.000 So who does the Washington Post quote as a source for this stuff?

00:38:25.000 Media Matters.

00:38:26.000 They quote Media Matters in this article.

00:38:28.000 An activist left-wing group originally set up by Hillary Clinton's team, the Podestas.

00:38:34.000 So this is the next step, right?

00:38:36.000 You are a racist because of what happened in the Capitol. 1.00

00:38:38.000 You are a bigot and viciously in favor of violence if you voted for Trump. 1.00

00:38:43.000 And now you should be banned, consequently. 0.99

00:38:45.000 We'll explain in just one second.

00:38:47.000 First, let us talk about the fact that right now you might be looking at the world and thinking to yourself, well, it seems like things are collapsing.

00:38:54.000 I hope that I am safe and secure in my home as a law-abiding American citizen who believes in the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

00:39:00.000 Well, when the founders wrote the Constitution, the first thing they did was make sacred the right of the individual to share their ideas without limitation.

00:39:05.000 The second thing they did was secure the right of individuals to protect themselves and their lives with force if necessary.

00:39:11.000 Owning a rifle and using it in legal ways is a heavy responsibility.

00:40:28.000 First, a bit of relief.

00:40:30.000 It's that glorious time of the week when I give a shout out to a daily warrior member.

00:40:32.000 Today, it is Ryan Duffy, husband, father, carpenter, marine vet on Instagram who understands the secret to working long hours.

00:40:38.000 In this picture, the world's greatest beverage vessel is in a workshop filled with cabinets being sanded before assembly.

00:40:45.000 Excellent.

00:40:46.000 Excellent.

00:40:46.000 Keep up that good work.

00:40:47.000 Thanks for the pick.

00:40:47.000 night as a small business owner. I know that these come more often than it seems they should, but it's okay. I am armed with a great cup of hashtag leftist tears in my new real daily wear, leftist tears tumbler, hot or cold. I'm ready to complete my project. Excellent. Excellent.

00:41:00.000 Keep up that good work. Thanks for the pick. Thank you for your service. Also, you may have noticed that there is a tsunami of culture that is directed explicitly against you.

00:41:08.000 It's going to get worse, not better, over the coming years. 0.95

00:41:10.000 With the Biden-Harris administration, what we are going to see is a tsunami of outrage at anybody who disagrees, and the entertainment industry that feeds and mainlines this crap into the bloodstream of American politics. 0.92

00:41:21.000 It's just gonna get worse and worse. 0.98

00:41:22.000 It's gonna get more and more toxic.

00:41:23.000 That's why we are pushing back against cultural blacklisting.

00:41:26.000 On Friday, January 15th, Daily Wire is releasing its first feature film, Run, Hide, Fight, exclusively to Daily Wire members.

00:41:32.000 Run, Hide, Fight is not particularly political.

00:41:34.000 It is intense.

00:41:34.000 It does have a powerful message.

00:41:36.000 The movie follows a high school besieged by a quartet of school shooters.

00:41:38.000 A young girl, 17-year-old Zoe Hull, uses her wits and survival skills to fight back.

00:41:42.000 Here is a bit of the trailer.

00:41:44.000 In between breaths, take a shot.

00:41:52.000 BOOM! 0.99

00:41:54.000 You done really good out there, kid.

00:41:56.000 Size of that deer, we're gonna be eating venison all summer.

00:41:58.000 Well, the days work.

00:42:01.000 I think we need to see somebody again.

00:42:02.000 And by we, you mean me?

00:42:03.000 No, I mean us.

00:42:04.000 Hey, that look in your eye.

00:42:06.000 Guys in my unit had that look.

00:42:07.000 Maybe there's a brochure you can hand me so I can go?

00:42:09.000 Is that Chris Jellick over there?

00:42:20.000 Is he doing something completely weird?

00:42:22.000 Senior prank day. 0.99

00:42:23.000 Look, we'll see all kinds of dumb stuff today. 0.81

00:42:25.000 Swim captain will have Thai food delivered to class, and Becky Vaughn will set up her homemade slip and slide. 0.96

00:42:29.000 This is high school.

00:42:31.000 Nothing that happens here matters in the real world.

00:42:33.000 Okay, we are in charge now, so please pull out whichever app you use to do live streaming video.

00:42:45.000 Get them up and running and point it at me.

00:42:47.000 Now!

00:42:51.000 Any more friends back there?

00:42:54.000 I'm calling 9-1-1.

00:43:05.000 You must be close.

00:43:20.000 You should be ashamed!

00:43:21.000 Yeah!

00:43:22.000 Oh Very disturbing news out of Vernon Central High School.

00:43:29.000 Zoe. 0.86

00:43:35.000 In between breath, take a shot.

00:43:39.000 Go! 0.95

00:43:44.000 Is it safe to say that this might be our guardian angel?

00:43:46.000 Do you want more people to die?

00:43:48.000 That's the last thing I want. 1.00

00:43:49.000 I'm gonna kill one person in this room every five minutes. 1.00

00:43:52.000 You don't show your face. 0.99

00:43:53.000 Isn't it ironic that after all your hard work, people aren't going to remember you?

00:44:11.000 I'm sorry.

00:44:17.000 No.

00:44:18.000 You're gonna remember me.

00:44:23.000 It's awesome.

00:44:23.000 It's edgy.

00:44:24.000 It is rated R. I'm just telling you right now because we need to compete in this space. 0.85

00:44:28.000 We need to provide people alternatives to the leftist crap that they are getting from Amazon or Netflix or anywhere else they get their entertainment.

00:44:33.000 To mark the release, we're going to be doing a live stream premiere the night before, Thursday, January 14th, during a special episode of Backstage featuring Jeremy Boring, me, some special guests.

00:44:42.000 Come join us as we put culture back in conservative categories.

00:44:46.000 Come join us as we try to infiltrate the culture and fight back.

00:44:49.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:44:53.000 So as I keep saying, there are a few messages that are coming out here after this terrible, terrible week.

00:45:03.000 Message number one from Biden-Harris is that if you voted for Trump, or if you supported Trump, or if you don't back their agenda, then this is because you're in favor of what happened.

00:45:10.000 Number two is that America is systemically racist, and its police are systemically racist, which is one hell of a message to put out after a police officer dies defending the Capitol, which is what happened this week. 0.96

00:45:20.000 And message number three is that you should all shut the hell up. 0.99

00:45:22.000 And shut up. 1.00

00:45:23.000 And not only that, there should be forcible attempts to shut you up. 0.96

00:45:26.000 It's not just that you should be quiet, it's that there should be companies geared toward shutting you up.

00:45:30.000 That all the companies should basically stop doing business with you.

00:45:33.000 That everybody should stop allowing you a platform.

00:45:36.000 Michelle Obama.

00:45:37.000 Queen of light and wonder.

00:45:39.000 She put out a statement yesterday.

00:45:40.000 Here's what it said.

00:45:41.000 I woke up yesterday elated by the news of Reverend Raphael Warnock's election victory.

00:45:45.000 He'll be Georgia's first black senator.

00:45:46.000 I was heartened by the idea that the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the home parish of Dr. Kang, and a spiritual and organizational hub during the civil rights movement would be representing his state in the United States Senate.

00:45:55.000 In just a few hours, my heart had fallen harder and faster than I can remember.

00:45:58.000 Like all of you, I watched as a gang, organized, violent, mad they'd lost an election, laid siege to the United States Capitol.

00:46:04.000 The day was a fulfillment of the wishes of an infantile, unpatriotic president who can't handle the truth of his own failures.

00:46:09.000 The wreckage lays at the feet of a party and media apparatus that gleefully cheered him on at knowing full well the possibility of consequences like these.

00:46:17.000 So here's where we go, right?

00:46:19.000 Is that everybody knew, everybody knew, this is going to be the revisionist history here, is that everybody knew that the Capitol was going to be stormed.

00:46:25.000 Okay, well, if that's the way that we're going to play this game, then everybody knew that six Dallas police officers are going to be shot to death by a BLM activist during Obama's administration.

00:46:34.000 I mean, with rhetoric saying that America was systemically racist and the police were systemically racist, I mean, everybody knew that it was going to come to this.

00:46:41.000 And if we're going to play this game, everybody knew there were going to be riots in Ferguson.

00:46:44.000 Everybody knew there were going to be riots in Washington, D.C.

00:46:46.000 Everybody knew that businesses were going to get burned and looted all around the country this summer.

00:46:50.000 Everybody knew all that stuff.

00:46:52.000 Okay, that's not how this game gets played.

00:46:55.000 Free speech is free speech.

00:46:58.000 You don't get to suggest that everybody who speaks freely on a topic of consequence is now responsible for nut jobs doing a nut thing because they believed lies.

00:47:07.000 Okay, but here is Michelle Obama continuing, because she has some answers for you.

00:47:10.000 She has some suggested ways that we can prevent this in the future.

00:47:13.000 She says, it left me with so many questions, questions about the future, questions about security, extremism, propaganda, and more.

00:47:19.000 But there's one question I can't shake.

00:47:20.000 What if those rioters had looked like the folks who go to Ebenezer Baptist Church every Sunday?

00:47:23.000 What would have been different?

00:47:25.000 And so there's the Biden-Harris message that the police are racist.

00:47:28.000 I think we all know the answer.

00:47:30.000 We do, because we watched what happened over the summer.

00:47:32.000 16 to 25 million Americans protesting.

00:47:34.000 And the police basically laid off of them.

00:47:37.000 This summer's Black Lives... They keep saying things like, oh, 14,000 people were arrested over the course of the protests.

00:47:42.000 Oh, you mean the months-long protests slash riots?

00:47:45.000 There were 500 riots all across the country, statistically speaking.

00:47:48.000 There were 16 to 25 million people who were involved in the protests.

00:47:55.000 Okay, in any case, she says, this summer's Black Lives Matter protests were an overwhelmingly peaceful movement.

00:47:59.000 Right, so here's the revisionist history.

00:48:01.000 Our nation's largest demonstrations ever, bringing together people of every race and class, encouraging millions to reexamine their own assumptions and behavior.

00:48:07.000 And yet, in city after city, day after day, we saw peaceful protesters met with brute force.

00:48:12.000 We saw cracked skulls and mass arrests, law enforcement pepper spraying its way through a peaceful demonstration for a presidential photo op.

00:48:18.000 And for those who call others unpatriotic for simply taking a knee in silent protest, for those who wonder why we need to be reminded that black lives matter at all.

00:48:24.000 Yesterday made it painfully clear that certain Americans, in fact, are allowed to denigrate the flag and symbols of our nation.

00:48:29.000 They've just got to look the right way.

00:48:30.000 Who's allowed to do that?

00:48:32.000 Those people are gonna be arrested.

00:48:34.000 Capitol police officers shot a woman.

00:48:36.000 She died.

00:48:37.000 Okay, like, who was allowed to do this?

00:48:39.000 Who is saying that this is a great thing?

00:48:40.000 Who?

00:48:41.000 Who?

00:48:41.000 Okay, this is just a made-up bull... It's a nonsense narrative.

00:48:45.000 It's nonsense. 0.80

00:48:45.000 And it's insulting to the intelligence, and it's insulting to the American people. 0.80

00:48:49.000 It's insulting, by the way, to suggest that the cops were vicious and brutal with Black Lives Matter protesters all over the country.

00:48:55.000 Again, 16 to 25 million people marched.

00:48:58.000 By the way, I can say both, can I not?

00:49:03.000 I can say that it is unpatriotic and terrible and un-American, as I have, to storm at the Capitol building, to interrupt the process.

00:49:09.000 I've called it insurrectionary because it is.

00:49:11.000 I can also say that taking a knee for the American flag to suggest that America stands for systemic barbarity and racism is also not a pro-America sentiment.

00:49:19.000 Can I not?

00:49:20.000 Can I do both?

00:49:21.000 How about that?

00:49:23.000 But it's one and not the other when it comes to Democrats.

00:49:26.000 What do these folks have to say now, says Michelle Obama?

00:49:28.000 Seeing the gulf between the responses to yesterday's riot and the summer's peaceful protests and the larger movement for racial justice is so painful, it hurts.

00:49:34.000 And I cannot think about moving on or turning a page, uh-huh.

00:49:37.000 Until we reckon with the reality of what we saw yesterday, true progress will be possible only once we acknowledge that this disconnect exists and take steps to repair it.

00:49:45.000 And that means coming to grips with the reality that millions voted for a man so obviously willing to burn our democracy down for his ego.

00:49:51.000 Ah, every single person who voted for Trump is in favor of people storming the Capitol building.

00:49:56.000 That's what Michelle Obama's saying.

00:49:57.000 So we've got both messages now, right? 0.97

00:49:58.000 We've got the message that the cops are racist and America is racist, and also that every single person who voted for Trump, every single person who didn't vote for Joe Biden, every single one of those people is deplorable and awful and evil.

00:50:11.000 I hurt for our country, says Michelle Obama.

00:50:13.000 I wish I had all the solutions.

00:50:14.000 I wish I had the confidence that people who know better will act like it for more than a news cycle or two.

00:50:19.000 All I know is that now is a time for true patriotism.

00:50:22.000 Now is the time for those who voted for this president to see the reality of what they've enabled and publicly and forcefully rebuke him and the actions of that mob.

00:50:28.000 Okay, everybody did.

00:50:29.000 Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior and go even further than they already have by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technology from being used by the nation's leaders to fuel insurrection.

00:50:45.000 Okay, but she doesn't stop there.

00:50:47.000 She says that now is a time for swift and serious consequences for the failure of leadership that led to yesterday's shame.

00:50:53.000 Okay, so she then calls for basically everybody be punished, right?

00:51:00.000 Everybody needs to be punished.

00:51:03.000 I love this.

00:51:04.000 She says, together, John Ossoff and Raphael Warnock will give control of Congress back to the only party that's shown it can put democracy above its own short-term political fortunes.

00:51:12.000 She's literally, literally undermining comedy and unity in the Republic in order to benefit Democrats' short-term political fortunes. 0.95

00:51:19.000 That's what she is doing here.

00:51:22.000 So we have to hold tight to our values by banning people.

00:51:24.000 That sounds good.

00:51:25.000 We'll hold tight to our values by banning people.

00:51:26.000 It's not just Michelle Obama, of course.

00:51:30.000 Oliver Darcy over at CNN, he puts out a social media newsletter and he had these paragraphs.

00:51:37.000 He says, we regularly discuss what big tech companies have done to poison the public conversation by providing large platforms to bad faith actors who lie, mislead and promote conspiracy theories.

00:51:46.000 What about TV companies that provide platforms to networks like Newsmax, One America News, and yes, Fox News?

00:51:52.000 So now Oliver is calling for TV companies to ban the distribution of Fox News on the basis of this.

00:51:59.000 He says, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Mark Levin, and others are responsible for the lies they peddle to their audiences, but the TV companies that beam them into millions of homes around the country also bear some responsibility, and yet we rarely, if ever, talk about them.

00:52:10.000 It is time TV carriers face questions for lending their platforms to dishonest companies that profit off of disinformation and conspiracy theories.

00:52:17.000 Oh, you mean like dishonest companies like, I don't know, CNN?

00:52:21.000 CNN, which spent years promoting the idea that Donald Trump was a Russian plant.

00:52:27.000 The Washington Post put out an editorial saying much of the same kind of stuff.

00:52:32.000 They say that we now need to stop the spread of misinformation on social media.

00:52:37.000 Right?

00:52:37.000 The burden rests with the sites that allowed bad actors to warp the worlds of so many citizens.

00:52:41.000 They must stop the spread of misinformation.

00:52:43.000 According to clear rules that stem from clear principles, they must promote accurate information in the manner the evidence tells us is most likely to persuade.

00:52:49.000 Both of these undertakings will likely require some trial and error.

00:52:53.000 So, wait a second.

00:52:54.000 It's almost as though the same exact solution that the left has always called for, namely repressive tolerance, shutting down other points of view, is now going to be extended.

00:53:01.000 To meet this supposed this supposed crisis, right?

00:53:05.000 That's that's what's going to happen, right?

00:53:06.000 We're going to shut down free speech.

00:53:08.000 Joy Behar makes it even clearer because, of course, she's basically take all of the Democratic talking and you boil it down to one bumper sticker. 1.00

00:53:15.000 And that's Joy Behar.

00:53:15.000 So here is Joy Behar yesterday on The View saying the media on the right has to be sanctioned.

00:53:21.000 I have always said from the very beginning that the lying is the biggest problem.

00:53:26.000 Because look at where it has brought these people.

00:53:29.000 And one more thing.

00:53:31.000 How is that going to happen?

00:53:33.000 Because you have somebody like Matt Gaetz saying that it was Antifa people dressed as protesters.

00:53:40.000 This is never going to get settled. 0.98

00:53:42.000 They are the biggest liars. 0.99

00:53:44.000 These people like Gaetz have to be taken down. 1.00

00:53:47.000 Right.

00:53:48.000 And the media on the right also has to be sanctioned.

00:53:52.000 The media on the right has to be sanctioned.

00:53:54.000 Anybody who prints something that Joy Behar doesn't like has to be sanctioned.

00:53:57.000 And unless you think that these are just going to restrict it to the outliers, to the fringe people, yeah, sure, sure they are.

00:54:04.000 David Hogg, another bumper sticker leftist.

00:54:07.000 He tweeted out, there should be a public list of companies that hire the Trump enablers after this so we can all boycott them.

00:54:12.000 Yep, that's where this is going.

00:54:13.000 That's where this is going.

00:54:15.000 Cori Bush.

00:54:16.000 The congresswoman, the BLM congresswoman, she suggested that every single Republican should be removed from office. 0.99

00:54:23.000 All the Republicans should just be removed from office.

00:54:25.000 Here she was yesterday on MSNBC. 0.99

00:54:28.000 We need to call it what it is. 0.53

00:54:29.000 It's white supremacy. 0.79

00:54:31.000 It was white privilege. 0.67

00:54:32.000 And it was the call of our president.

00:54:34.000 And it was encouraged by our Republican colleagues.

00:54:39.000 And that is why every single one of them, especially because they have been the ones trying to steal this election.

00:54:45.000 That's why we are calling for them to be removed.

00:54:48.000 They should not be seated.

00:54:50.000 Right.

00:54:50.000 All the Republicans.

00:54:51.000 None of the Republicans should be seated.

00:54:52.000 That's the solution.

00:54:53.000 So the solution to an attempted insurrection is to shut down free speech and boot out everyone who disagrees with me in Congress.

00:55:00.000 Sounds perfectly American to me.

00:55:01.000 Sounds great.

00:55:02.000 Sounds great.

00:55:04.000 Alrighty, so it's been an incredibly, incredibly rough week.

00:55:07.000 Like a very, very rough week for the country, a very rough week for conservatives, and for people who like basic rights and civility and decency.

00:55:15.000 It's been a very rough week.

00:55:17.000 So let's end with a little bit of Bible talk here.

00:55:19.000 So this week, the Jews, right, as I explain every week, the Jews read a portion of the Bible every single week.

00:55:26.000 And the portion of the Bible that they read this week is the portion that begins the Book of Exodus.

00:55:31.000 In Hebrew, the Book of Exodus is known as the Book of Shmos, or Shmot, and the Book of Exodus begins with the story of Moses.

00:55:41.000 And so I want to focus in for a second on the portion of this week's Parsha about the burning bush.

00:55:47.000 So here's what the Bible has to say about when Moses comes essentially face-to-face with God, or at least face-to-bush, or face-to-burning bush with God.

00:55:57.000 So here is what The Bible has to say.

00:56:00.000 This is Exodus chapter 3 beginning verse 2.

00:56:04.000 An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire out of a bush.

00:56:06.000 He gazed. There was a bush all aflame, but the bush was not consumed.

00:56:10.000 Moses said, I must turn aside to look at this marvelous sight.

00:56:12.000 Why doesn't the bush burn up?

00:56:13.000 When the Lord saw that he had turned aside to look, God called him out of the bush, Moses, Moses, and he answered, Here I am.

00:56:20.000 So to understand what's going on here, you have to understand that the basic idea of the burning bush is you have a material thing, a thing that is temporary and of this world, and there's a flame that should be consuming it, but the thing is not consumed.

00:56:31.000 This is a signification of the eternal.

00:56:33.000 Time moves on, time destroys, but there are certain things that are not destroyed, and that certain thing is God.

00:56:39.000 Right?

00:56:40.000 And Moses is answering in the language of supplication, right?

00:56:42.000 He says, hineni, which is the same sort of language that Abraham uses with regard to God when God calls him to make a sacrifice of his son Isaac.

00:56:49.000 The Bible continues, God said, do not come closer, remove your sandals from your feet for the place on which you stand is holy ground.

00:56:55.000 I am, said God, the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.

00:56:59.000 Moses hit his face for he was afraid to look at God.

00:57:01.000 And the Lord continued, I've marked well the plight of my people in Egypt.

00:57:04.000 I've heeded their outcry because of their taskmasters.

00:57:05.000 Yes, I am mindful of their sufferings.

00:57:08.000 I have come down to rescue them from the Egyptians. 1.00

00:57:12.000 Okay, and then Moses says to God, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, the God of your fathers has sent you and they ask me, what is his name?

00:57:19.000 What shall I say to them?

00:57:20.000 And so in the Bible, names have deep meaning.

00:57:23.000 In the Bible, names are supposed to convey something true about the person.

00:57:27.000 That's why in the Bible so often you'll see somebody named and it'll explain the meaning of the name.

00:57:30.000 Like when we pick, we do the same thing with our kids.

00:57:32.000 When we pick a name for our children, we try to encapsulate a meaning for the child that we hope for their life or their relationship with God.

00:57:39.000 So, the same thing is true in the Bible with regard to names.

00:57:41.000 So, there's very, there's several different names of God that are used in the Bible.

00:57:45.000 And the name that God suggests be used here is actually, this is the only time I'm aware that it's used anywhere in the Bible.

00:57:51.000 The name that God suggests to Moses be used with regard to the Jews in Egypt.

00:57:57.000 So, Moses says, what should I say your name is?

00:58:00.000 And God says, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh.

00:58:04.000 Right, which literally means, I will be what I will be.

00:58:08.000 Okay, so that's kind of a weird sentence, right?

00:58:10.000 Because God is saying to Moses, his name, right?

00:58:13.000 You shall, eh-heh-yeah, sent me to you.

00:58:16.000 Okay, so that's kind of a weird sentence, right?

00:58:18.000 Because God is saying to Moses, his name, right?

00:58:20.000 He would say, eh-heh-yeah, I am, I will be what I will be.

00:58:24.000 And then, when you go down to them, though, I don't want you to say, eh-heh-yeah, I want you to say, eh-heh-yeah, right?

00:58:28.000 Just the first one.

00:58:30.000 Just, I will be.

00:58:31.000 Okay, so the Talmud discusses what the meaning of this is, and the idea is, I will be a savior for you now, and I will be a savior for you in the future, right?

00:58:40.000 Because it's twice.

00:58:41.000 I will be for you now, I'll share what I will be for you in the future.

00:58:45.000 And Moses, says the Talmud, says back to God, I'm not sure the people can handle the fact that there's gonna be bad news in the future.

00:58:51.000 You're talking about the Redemption right now.

00:58:53.000 And then God says back to him, well then just tell them, I will be.

00:58:56.000 Meaning that you're about to be redeemed, right?

00:58:57.000 I will be.

00:58:59.000 And then God says further to Moses, you shall speak to them and say, the Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob has sent me to you.

00:59:05.000 This shall be my name forever.

00:59:06.000 This is my name from generation to generation.

00:59:10.000 So, the answer that God is giving here is that the trials and tribulations, they don't end.

00:59:19.000 God is the eternal rock.

00:59:20.000 He doesn't change.

00:59:21.000 He is there for you in times both good and bad.

00:59:24.000 And there is no such thing as the end of history.

00:59:25.000 There is just more history.

00:59:27.000 There is just the continuation of things that happen.

00:59:30.000 There is redemption.

00:59:31.000 There are cycles.

00:59:32.000 Things rise.

00:59:33.000 Things fall.

00:59:34.000 There will be trials in the future, but any time there's a dark period, remember that time is moving.

00:59:39.000 Eh-heh-yeah.

00:59:40.000 Right, what you need to keep in mind when you're in a dark period is not, eh-heh-yeah, sure, eh-heh-yeah, that God is gonna help you now, and there are gonna be tough times in the future, and he's gonna help you then, too.

00:59:49.000 What you need to remember is that right now, in the darkest periods, God is there for us.

00:59:53.000 God remembers us.

00:59:54.000 God recognizes us.

00:59:55.000 God wants things to be better for us.

00:59:57.000 He wants us to act with dignity.

00:59:59.000 He wants us to act with decency.

01:00:00.000 He wants us to act as though our lives and our decisions matter.

01:00:04.000 And God will be there with us.

01:00:05.000 God will redeem us.

01:00:06.000 And yes, that doesn't mean that there will be any sort of utopia in which all bad things stop.

01:00:11.000 Bad things will continue to happen.

01:00:13.000 And down the road, there will be more bad things.

01:00:15.000 But just remember that for right now, the same God that brought us, the United States, through the Revolutionary War, that brought us through the Civil War, the same God that helped the United States overcome the tyranny of the Nazis, the same God that helped the United States overcome the hatred in its own heart, The evils of segregation and Jim Crow.

01:00:33.000 That same God is going to help us overcome evils that we see in our own hearts, the divisions of our own country.

01:00:39.000 God is gonna help us overcome that now.

01:00:42.000 And what comes later, God will be there for that too.

01:00:43.000 But the important thing is, remember right now, it's not that all hope is lost, it's that maybe we're putting our hope in the wrong place.
