Summary

Joe Biden is in a campaign meltdown, and you can tell it because every story about the Biden campaign is about how he is struggling to win back voters that already should be in his back pocket. And it also means that his campaign is now attempting bizarre and sundry tactics in order to gain headlines in the middle of a cycle that is terrible for him, and it s a symptom of a campaign that is failing. Joe Biden's campaign is pulling out the stops on bizarre tactics that are not only unavailing, but wildly counterproductive to his campaign's efforts to shore up the Democratic base and win back black voters that have been key to his re-election efforts in 2020. And then there s a third indicator: He s denying the polling data, which is not only bad, it s all fake. And then, there s another indicator: Joe Biden s team is now pulling out all the stops to get out to vote, which means that he s in serious trouble with Black voters, who have been a key part of his campaign s success in the past and are now turning out in droves for him. And that s a big problem for the Biden is that they are not all that interested in a senile, 80-year-old white man who has spent his entire career making befuddled gaffes about race. Joe Biden is not interested in winning back the black vote, and they re not that much interest in a guy who s not going to go out to campaign with him in 2020, are they not going out to the polls to vote for him? or are they just going to the White House to vote him out to see him out there to be re-elected? or do they re just to be there to watch him do it in 2020 or not to see what he s going to do it? Or are they going to be offended by his gaffe-filled, blabbering about it or do he s not getting any more of the same thing he did in 2020? And they re going to leave him at home in Washington, D.C.? What s going on here, Joe Biden, what s the problem? -- What s the real problem here? -- Is he not winning enough Black voters? -- -- or is he running out of time to win them back? -- And how bad is it getting worse than ever? -- and is he going to turn it around? -- How bad will it get worse?

00:00:00.000 When campaigns are in meltdown, it seems like nothing they touch goes right.
00:00:04.000 And there are lots of symptoms when campaigns are in meltdown.
00:00:07.000 For example, it's very difficult for those campaigns to get their own voters back into the fold.
00:00:13.000 This is true, obviously, of re-elected campaigns.
00:00:15.000 This is true for Jimmy Carter in 1980, who had a really difficult time getting Democrats back in the fold.
00:00:20.000 He had barely won an election, a very close election, in 1976 against Gerald Ford, and then he ran against Ronald Reagan.
00:00:25.000 He got absolutely walloped.
00:00:27.000 Well, Joe Biden is now in the middle of a campaign meltdown, and you can tell it.
00:00:31.000 You can tell it because every story about the Biden campaign is how he is struggling to win back voters that already should be in his back pocket.
00:00:38.000 And it also means that his campaign is now attempting bizarre and sundry Tactics in order to gain headlines in the middle of a cycle, a news cycle that is terrible for him.
00:00:52.000 So in the past few weeks, we have articles about how Joe Biden doesn't believe the polls.
00:00:56.000 That is a great symptom of a campaign that is failing.
00:00:58.000 If you are out there telling the media that you don't believe the polls, typically that means you're losing.
00:01:04.000 Or for example, Axios today called Biden launching a new strategy to win black voters.
00:01:10.000 Let's be clear about this.
00:01:11.000 The black vote in the United States has gone for the Democrats by extraordinary numbers every single election cycle for the past several decades.
00:01:21.000 In fact, Black voters were the key to Biden's 2020 win.
00:01:24.000 The numbers for Biden among Black voters in 2020 were extraordinary.
00:01:31.000 He got great turnout, particularly in terms of mail-ins, and he got an extraordinarily high percentage of the vote from Black voters in 2020.
00:01:39.000 But now, Joe Biden is in real trouble.
00:01:41.000 And he's having a tough time actually winning back those same black voters.
00:01:44.000 He won 92% of the black vote against Donald Trump.
00:01:47.000 But polling is currently showing Donald Trump not only in the double digits, but in the significant double digits among black voters and black voter motivation really low for Joe Biden.
00:01:57.000 It turns out that they are not all that interested in a senile 80-year-old white man who has spent his entire career making befuddled gaffes about race.
00:02:06.000 According to Axios, Polling has consistently shown a lack of enthusiasm among black voters for Biden.
00:02:12.000 A recent New York Times Siena survey put his support at 69 to 18 over Trump with black voters.
00:02:17.000 So he's going to spend eight figures, rely on black student organizations, community groups, churches, and surrogates to improve his standing with black voters in swing states.
00:02:26.000 And he's going to go campaign in these various communities.
00:02:29.000 He has to win black voters with overwhelming support.
00:02:32.000 If Joe Biden, five months from the election, is having to go campaign in black areas of, say, Philadelphia, or has to head on over to Detroit, Michigan, in order to get out to vote, that dude is in serious, serious trouble.
00:02:46.000 So that is indicator number one.
00:02:49.000 is that he is having to go shore up a voting base that clearly has gone Democrat.
00:02:53.000 And historically, in extraordinary numbers, for Democrats, he has to shore up that base.
00:02:59.000 That's a real problem for him.
00:03:01.000 Indicator number two, he's denying the polling data.
00:03:03.000 It's not real.
00:03:04.000 It's all fake.
00:03:05.000 Whistling past the graveyard.
00:03:06.000 And then there's indicator number three, which is that the Biden campaign is now pulling out the stops on bizarre tactics that are not only unavailing, they are wildly counterproductive.
00:03:15.000 So yesterday, Politico writes, after six weeks of staying clear of the courthouse at 100 Center Street, Joe Biden's campaign on Tuesday showed up to hold their own event, a dramatic reversal of the president's strategy in the final days of Donald Trump's trial.
00:03:27.000 So remember, it was considered wildly unpresidential for Donald Trump to sound off on his own trial, where he is currently being tried in court.
00:03:37.000 That is considered out of bounds.
00:03:38.000 How dare he attack the justice system?
00:03:40.000 How dare he intervene in the justice system?
00:03:43.000 Meanwhile, Joe Biden, the actual president of the United States, whose DOJ is presiding over multiple cases against his political opponent, is deploying his campaign to stand outside the courtroom in New York in order to stump for Donald Trump's conviction.
00:03:57.000 That's not only unprecedented, it's nuts.
00:04:00.000 It's nuts.
00:04:00.000 And not only are they doing that, it would be nuts enough if he deployed, say, lawyers from his campaign to go explain the case in front of the courtroom.
00:04:07.000 That would obviously be deeply problematic, considering the President of the United States as the chief law enforcement officer in the land, because of course, he presides over the Attorney General, who presides over the DOJ.
00:04:18.000 That he's deploying his own legal team outside the courtroom to rip on his political opponent in the middle of a trial.
00:04:24.000 That is insane on its face.
00:04:26.000 It's crazy.
00:04:27.000 But it got crazier because they didn't just deploy some campaign lawyer to explain the case against Donald Trump.
00:04:33.000 They deployed a celebrity to go outside the trial and hold an event.
00:04:41.000 That is a desperation move.
00:04:42.000 We'll get to more on this in a moment.
00:04:43.000 First, in America, we are incredibly fortunate to have brave men and women who volunteer to serve in the military.
00:04:48.000 They dedicate their lives to protecting our freedom and ensuring our nation's security.
00:04:51.000 These men and women voluntarily lay their lives on the line for us.
00:04:54.000 But when their service ends, transitioning to civilian life can be difficult, especially given the current economic climate.
00:04:59.000 That's why Pure Talk proudly supports America's Warrior Partnership.
00:05:02.000 Since 2014, America's Warrior Partnership has worked with tens of thousands of veterans in its quest to stop veteran suicide and help veterans and their families live the purposeful lives they deserve.
00:05:11.000 And you can join the fight.

00:05:47.000 So who did they trot out?
00:05:49.000 On Tuesday, they made the decision, apparently over the weekend in Wilmington, Delaware, to be nimble and creative.
00:05:57.000 Nimble and creative, those are not things that, not words that readily come to mind for our doddering president.
00:06:03.000 But on Tuesday, what did that mean?
00:06:04.000 It meant that they brought out the raging bull bleeper himself, Robert De Niro.
00:06:11.000 He has nipples, Greg.
00:06:12.000 Could you milk him?
00:06:15.000 He shows up, okay, wearing a mask.
00:06:18.000 Here's Robert De Niro.
00:06:20.000 I don't know who, honest to God, I don't know who came up with this idea.
00:06:23.000 This is one of the stupidest political ideas I have ever seen in my entire life.
00:06:27.000 Apparently, the idea of the Biden campaign was we have an unpopular 81-year-old incumbent who falls down a lot and babbles nonsensically.
00:06:34.000 What if we get to defend him outside the courtroom where his political opponent is being tried on political grounds?
00:06:42.000 What if we get an 80-year-old, half-senile, doddering old man Who recently fathered a small baby.
00:06:49.000 What if we get that guy?
00:06:51.000 And he's an actor to boot.
00:06:53.000 And he's crazy enough that he spent the last several years going on random TV shows shouting F Trump.
00:06:58.000 This is a man with the credibility of the American people behind him.
00:07:02.000 This is a man who has gravitas.
00:07:04.000 Robert De Niro.
00:07:05.000 So here he is wandering around in New York City, in the broad daylight, outside, three years after the end of COVID, wearing a mask.
00:07:15.000 Slow clap for these geniuses.
00:07:17.000 I mean, this is like some really solid stuff.
00:07:21.000 Apparently he is now reversing his line from the king of comedy.
00:07:27.000 Right?
00:07:27.000 Which was, better to be king for a night than a schmuck for a lifetime.
00:07:31.000 Better to be schmuck for a night than king for a lifetime.
00:07:33.000 Is apparently Robert De Niro's new styling here.
00:07:36.000 So he arrives, and then he proceeds to start rambling nonsensically.
00:07:41.000 What, what were they even thinking?
00:07:43.000 What were they thinking?
00:07:44.000 What was the idea here?
00:07:45.000 I just, I don't, honest to God, I don't get it.
00:07:47.000 This is the stupidest campaign ploy I have ever seen, ever.
00:07:51.000 It was really dumb in 2016 when Hillary Clinton at the convention trotted out a bunch of young actresses to sing fight song.
00:07:57.000 And it was really cloying and annoying.
00:08:00.000 But at least she understood that it was an attempt to bring actual celebrities who do a thing celebrities do like saying.
00:08:04.000 Bringing Robert De Niro, a guy who plays a tough guy on, in the movies, To show up at the age of 80 and stagger over to microphones to talk about a criminal trial.
00:08:15.000 Like what was even the logic?
00:08:17.000 This isn't even a bank shot.
00:08:18.000 It's like one of those old Larry Bird, Michael Jordan commercials.
00:08:21.000 This is like off the plane, off the house, off the tiger, off the backboard, swish.
00:08:27.000 Like what, what, who thought of this?
00:08:30.000 It's like pinball logic here.
00:08:32.000 If you just bounce the ball enough, then magically this will lead to Donald Trump losing the election.
00:08:37.000 Here's Robert De Niro, an elderly man who spent his entire life reading scripts written by other people, doing a terrible acting job.
00:08:45.000 He needs take two.
00:08:46.000 And Martin Scorsese directing this thing, because I got to tell you, otherwise it's just the rest of his IMDb credits over the last 15 years.
00:08:52.000 I mean, this is really, even these people over here, it's kind of crazy.
00:09:03.000 It's really crazy and this thing, Donald Trump, has created this.
00:09:10.000 He should be telling them not to do this.
00:09:12.000 But he's just... It's no surprise that the murder rate and other violent crimes peaked under Trump and are falling under Biden.
00:09:22.000 And now he's promising to use our own military to attack US citizens.
00:09:29.000 That's the tyrant.
00:09:34.000 That's the tyrant he's telling us he'll be.
00:09:37.000 And believe me, he means it.
00:09:41.000 Is he talking to me?
00:09:43.000 Is he talking to me?
00:09:46.000 What in the world?
00:09:48.000 What is he even jabbering about?
00:09:50.000 He's gonna use the American military on his domestic opponent?
00:09:52.000 You're literally standing outside a trial where he is being tried for a crime that does not exist by a politically motivated DA, and the President of the United States just deployed you to go speak outside of his trial why he should be thrown in jail, and you're talking about Donald Trump being the tyrant?
00:10:08.000 That's your idea?
00:10:10.000 Totally crazy, totally crazy stuff here from Robert.
00:10:13.000 Again, the notion that Robert De Niro was going to be the tip of the spear in terms of Joe Biden's campaign.
00:10:20.000 My goodness.
00:10:22.000 And in 2012, Mitt Romney brought Clint Eastwood to speak at the Republican National Convention.
00:10:25.000 And it was actually a pretty good idea.
00:10:27.000 It's just that Clint Eastwood refused to read from the script.
00:10:29.000 Clint Eastwood said he wanted to say what he wanted to say.
00:10:31.000 And he did that famous empty chair thing, which everyone was like, what is happening right now?
00:10:35.000 All he really needed was for Clint Eastwood to get up on the stage And to Dirty Harry.
00:10:40.000 And he did, and he did something else that was random.
00:10:42.000 But at least Clint Eastwood at the time had high levels of trust with the American people because he had also just done this famous car commercial in the aftermath of the Great Recession, all this kind of stuff.
00:10:51.000 No one takes Robert De Niro seriously.
00:10:53.000 No one.
00:10:54.000 He's not even considered a sort of iconic figure anymore, considering that the sort of Daniel Day-Lewis artiste from the 1970s and early 80s has now been demoted to the guy who does About My Father.
00:11:09.000 The movie about my father, which I didn't even know existed until I looked up his IMDB with Sebastian Maniscalco.
00:11:16.000 That's the guy they trotted out.
00:11:17.000 It's just insane.
00:11:18.000 And then he proceeds to have a meltdown and engage with the hecklers because he can't stop himself.
00:11:25.000 So he starts turning into Travis Bickle in real time, but really, really old.
00:11:29.000 Is it?
00:11:30.000 What?
00:11:31.000 What?
00:11:32.000 This is... This campaign is... If Donald Trump loses to this campaign, I mean, honest to God, I don't know how it's possible.
00:11:38.000 Maybe.
00:11:39.000 But Joe Biden is running... This is a horrible campaign being run by Joe Biden.
00:11:45.000 These guys are the true heroes.
00:11:48.000 They stood and put their lives on the line for these low lives, for Trump.
00:11:55.000 They lied on the road.
00:11:58.000 They lied on the road?
00:12:00.000 Who lied on the road?
00:12:01.000 What are you telling me?
00:12:02.000 Those two traitors behind you.
00:12:04.000 Excuse me?
00:12:05.000 Those two traitors behind you.
00:12:06.000 They lied on the road?
00:12:07.000 That's right.
00:12:08.000 What are you saying?
00:12:10.000 They're traitors.
00:12:11.000 They're traitors?
00:12:14.000 I don't even know how to deal with you, my friend.
00:12:17.000 I don't even know how to deal with you.
00:12:21.000 Old man arguing with protesters on behalf of old man who can't even argue with protesters anymore because he's no longer functional.
00:12:28.000 Wow.
00:12:30.000 Wow.
00:12:30.000 According to Politico, quote, By the way, you know how delusional and crazy that is?
00:12:40.000 That's so crazy.
00:12:41.000 The biggest problem right now in the country for Joe Biden is that everyone is paying attention to Joe Biden.
00:12:47.000 Joe Biden is in such a siloed echo chamber that he's like, oh my God, why is MSNBC and CNN covering Trump?
00:12:53.000 Why don't they cover me?
00:12:55.000 Why are they covering Trump?
00:12:56.000 They're covering Trump because they're trying to help you win.
00:12:58.000 And they know over at CNN and MSNBC that the more they cover you, the more likely it is you will lose because you suck at being president.
00:13:04.000 Everything you touch turns to absolute crap.
00:13:08.000 But the incompetence at the Biden campaign are like, oh my God, every time I turn on CNN and MSNBC, they're just showing this trial.
00:13:14.000 We can't get attention for our amazing campaign.
00:13:17.000 Let's get Robert De Niro out there.
00:13:20.000 At the age of 80, to babble about tyranny.
00:13:25.000 The people familiar with the decision disputed that the stunt was born out of desperation, even as Biden has narrowly but consistently trailed Trump in the polls.
00:13:32.000 Well, I mean, it is.
00:13:33.000 I mean, it reeks of desperation.
00:13:35.000 Reeks of desperation, obviously.
00:13:38.000 In fact, this is pretty much openly admitted.
00:13:42.000 At the event itself.
00:13:43.000 We'll get to more on this in a moment.
00:13:44.000 First, my days are really, really full.
00:13:46.000 Got the show, the company, being a dad, writing books, a lot going on.
00:13:50.000 If I don't get a good night's sleep, I can't keep up with my day.
00:13:52.000 That's why I appreciate my Helix Sleep Mattress.

00:14:07.000 It matches your body type and sleep preferences to the perfect mattress.
00:14:10.000 Why would you buy a mattress made for somebody else?
00:14:12.000 I took that Helix quiz.
00:14:13.000 I was matched with a firm but breathable mattress.
00:14:15.000 I love it.
00:14:15.000 My wife loves it.
00:14:16.000 We're big Helix fans at the Shapiro house.
00:14:18.000 In fact, when we had our family from out of town stay at our house recently, they asked me where the mattress in the guest room was because they found it so comfortable.
00:14:24.000 And then they went home and they immediately bought their own Helix Sleep Mattress.
00:14:27.000 Helix has a 10-year warranty.
00:14:29.000 Try it out for 100 nights risk-free.
00:14:30.000 They'll pick it up for you.

00:14:39.000 It's their best offer yet.
00:14:39.000 It's not going to last long.
00:14:40.000 HelixSleep.com slash Ben with Helix.
00:14:42.000 Better sleep starts right now.
00:14:44.000 Michael Fanon was one of the officers who was assaulted on January 6th and then has spent the last several years just doing TV rounds talking about how this was the worst insurrection in the history of the country and all this kind of stuff.
00:14:57.000 Well, he was asked by MSNBC, why is Robert De Niro here?
00:15:00.000 And he's like, because no one will pay attention to us unless Robert De Niro is here.
00:15:03.000 Yeah, but you know what?
00:15:04.000 Not all attention is good attention.
00:15:05.000 It turns out we're all paying attention right now because you all look like clowns.
00:15:09.000 This is a clown show.
00:15:11.000 Can you kind of give me a framework of how you guys are looking at the next five months, the roles you play in the broader Biden campaign coming out of these trials?
00:15:20.000 Well, first of all, like, I'm incredibly grateful for, you know, Robert De Niro lending his celebrity and his voice to this cause.
00:15:31.000 That being said, you know, I think that it's Disheartening to know that that's what it takes three and a half years after an insurrection at the Capitol in which hundreds of police officers were brutalized and our democracy was threatened to get the media's attention.
00:15:49.000 Okay, again, he's admitting it's a desperation play.
00:15:52.000 We've been repeating this January 6th stuff for three years at this point, and no one will pay attention to us anymore because it's boring and tired and old and everyone has an opinion on it already, and so we're gonna trot out this elderly man who reads lines for a living over the course of multiple takes And then we are going to have him stand in so we can get some attention.
00:16:11.000 We got the attention, but ain't the kind of attention you need.
00:16:14.000 How flailing is the Biden campaign?
00:16:16.000 How bad is the Biden campaign?
00:16:17.000 Apparently, according to the Wall Street Journal, Democrats intend to formally nominate President Biden as their president's nominee with the help of a virtual roll call weeks before the Chicago convention in August.
00:16:27.000 a move that would allow the president to appear on the ballot in Ohio and minimize possible
00:16:31.000 protests during the convention. So they're claiming this is all about getting Biden on
00:16:33.000 the ballot in Ohio, which of course wouldn't make any difference. He's going to lose Ohio.
00:16:36.000 Trump's going to win Ohio, but that's not a swing state anymore. But what is this really about?
00:16:41.000 It's about shortening the actual process on the DNC floor, because if there is process on the DNC
00:16:46.000 floor, they are afraid mass protests will break out on the DNC floor against the nomination of
00:16:51.000 Biden, crippling him in the public view as the Democratic Party splits wide open right down
00:16:56.000 Because the chances of high-level protests at the DNC are incredibly high.
00:17:01.000 The date of the DNC this year in Chicago is August 19th to August 22nd.
00:17:07.000 He'll be nominated formally, presumably, August 22nd.
00:17:10.000 That is not far off.
00:17:12.000 We are currently almost at the beginning of June.
00:17:14.000 So you are currently talking about a little under 12 weeks right now.
00:17:18.000 Talking about maybe 11 weeks until that convention.
00:17:23.000 Here are the following things that we know are going to still be happening in 11 weeks.
00:17:26.000 War in Gaza.
00:17:27.000 It ain't gonna be over.
00:17:28.000 It ain't.
00:17:29.000 Israel's gonna finish off Rafah inside the next six weeks because they've already moved significant forces into Rafah.
00:17:34.000 But, there's gonna be cleanup and mop-up operations happening there.
00:17:37.000 There may be action in the north depending on what Hezbollah does.
00:17:40.000 So, there will still be conflict in the Middle East.
00:17:41.000 Two, we know for a fact the Russia-Ukraine war will not be over in three months.
00:17:45.000 It's not going to be over because Russia is feeling its oats.
00:17:48.000 Because Joe Biden has slow-walked aid to Ukraine, this entire process, while playing politics with it, with no end goal, no actual finishing solution in mind in Ukraine, and hampering Ukraine from even striking Russian targets that are currently firing across the border into Ukraine.
00:18:06.000 So that's going to be ongoing.
00:18:07.000 There's a very high probability that there's going to be something spicy going on with regard to Taiwan.
00:18:11.000 China has launched a major naval drill Around Taiwan, like they basically did a fake blockade around Taiwan in the latest naval drill and they're upping the rhetoric.
00:18:23.000 There are all sorts of conflicts that can break out at any time.
00:18:26.000 Inflation is not in fact down for the vast majority of Americans.
00:18:29.000 You can say that it's 3% year on year, but over the course of the Biden presidency, menu items have doubled in certain areas.
00:18:37.000 None of this bodes well for Joe Biden.
00:18:38.000 So we get to the convention.
00:18:40.000 There's a reason why they are front-loading the virtual convention kind of stuff.
00:18:44.000 Because they cannot afford to have people screaming at Joe Biden in the crowd at the DNC.
00:18:49.000 That's precisely what's going to happen.
00:18:52.000 This campaign is in a state of meltdown.
00:18:54.000 And it's in a state of meltdown really for one reason and one reason only.
00:18:57.000 Joe Biden does not have the courage of conviction on any level.
00:19:01.000 He has no courage of his convictions.
00:19:03.000 He ran as a moderate and fit the actual balls to stay a moderate when he became president.
00:19:07.000 He'd be in much better shape right now, but he didn't.
00:19:11.000 As always, the running theme of Joe Biden's career is that he likes to run in front of parades.
00:19:16.000 A parade will be marching, and he will run out in front and pretend that he's leading the parade.
00:19:19.000 But the parade is already moving.
00:19:21.000 And so depending on, and it doesn't matter what the parade is, as long as it's a parade inside the Democratic Party, he tries to be all things to all people.
00:19:28.000 So, in the early 1990s, he is a tough-on-crime, hawkish Democrat in the mode of Bill Clinton.
00:19:35.000 And then you get to the 2010s and suddenly he's a pro-gay marriage, pro-abortion, pro-BLM, anti-police radical.
00:19:45.000 And then running against Bernie Sanders, he turns back into a moderate and then he becomes president and he moves back to the left.
00:19:50.000 He is just buffeted by the winds inside his own party.
00:19:54.000 And because of that, no one likes him.
00:19:56.000 It turns out that Joe Biden as president is like that person in your social group who wants to be friends with everybody and is friends with nobody because no one likes them because they're annoying.
00:20:06.000 That's Joe Biden.
00:20:07.000 It turns out that what makes people actually like you is a steady sense of purpose and leadership.
00:20:13.000 And Joe Biden has none of those things.
00:20:15.000 None of them.
00:20:16.000 And so his campaign, again, is in a state of meltdown.
00:20:18.000 When you're calling out Robert De Niro as your big backup, you got a problem.
00:20:24.000 You really do.
00:20:26.000 Again, there are a lot of people who I know personally who voted for Joe Biden in the last election cycle who will not be voting for Joe Biden this time.
00:20:32.000 Meanwhile, I don't know a single person who voted for Donald Trump in the last election cycle who will not be voting for Donald Trump in this election cycle and with significantly more enthusiasm.
00:20:42.000 Donald Trump has not lost votes inside the Republican Party.
00:20:45.000 He has picked up some votes from independents.
00:20:47.000 RFK Jr.
00:20:48.000 is there to pick up other votes from Joe Biden.
00:20:51.000 Joe Biden's got a real problem here.
00:20:54.000 And all the talk about how the Trump trial is suddenly gonna sink Trump, nonsense.
00:20:57.000 Even if they convict him, it's not gonna mean a thing, because everyone knows that this trial is a setup.
00:21:01.000 At least everyone who's of moderate bent.
00:21:04.000 The prosecutors can't even explain the crime here.
00:21:06.000 They can explain the misdemeanor falsification of business records in New York, but in order to somehow spin this into a felony, they have to connect it into a second crime.
00:21:13.000 It has to be a misdemeanor falsification of records in pursuit of a broader crime.
00:21:17.000 But they can't name what the broader crime is.
00:21:21.000 They suggest that the broader crime is an attempt to shape the outcome of the election, but attempting to shape the outcome of an election isn't actually a crime.
00:21:26.000 It would have to be a campaign finance crime, but the federal government investigated federal campaign finance violations by the Trump campaign in 2016, and they came up with nothing and didn't prosecute him.
00:21:36.000 So, there is no actual charge here.
00:21:39.000 It's totally unclear what the charge is even going to be when the charging documents are brought forward here.
00:21:43.000 We'll get to more on this in just one second.
00:21:45.000 First, finding that perfect sleep aid can feel like uncovering a hidden treasure.
00:21:48.000 Whether you're struggling with occasional insomnia or battling chronic sleep disturbances, the right sleep aid can make all the difference in the world.
00:21:54.000 Beam's Dream Powder is an all-natural nighttime drink blend that's improved 15 million nights of sleep.
00:21:59.000 Producer Savvy is apparently asleep right now in the control room because she didn't take it last night.
00:22:04.000 But you love Beam Dream Powder, don't you Jess?
00:22:07.000 I love my Beam Dream Ben.
00:22:08.000 I just mix it in with a little warm milk before bed every single night and then I wake up feeling like a million bucks refreshed in the morning so I'm not looking like Savannah over here.
00:22:18.000 Yeah, Savannah.
00:22:19.000 Beam Dream Powder contains that powerful, all-natural blend of reishi, magnesium, l-theanine, apigenin, and melatonin to help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.
00:22:28.000 Again, our producers love it.
00:22:30.000 And if they forget about it, it has effects the next day.
00:22:32.000 Today, my listeners get a special discount on Beam's Dream Powder, their science-backed, healthy nighttime for sleep with no added sugar.
00:22:38.000 Better sleep has never tasted better.
00:22:40.000 Just mix Beam Dream into hot water or milk, stir or froth, and enjoy before bedtime.
00:22:44.000 So prosecutors are confusedly attempting to argue something.
00:22:45.000 They literally don't even know what they're arguing.
00:22:47.000 It's really an amazing thing.
00:22:48.000 If you want to try Beam's bestselling dream powder, take advantage of 40% off for a limited time
00:22:52.000 when you go to shopbeam.com slash Ben and use code Ben and checkout that shopbeam.com slash Ben
00:22:58.000 with my promo code Ben for up to 40% off your order.
00:23:01.000 So prosecutors are confusedly attempting to argue something.
00:23:06.000 They literally don't even know what they're arguing.
00:23:07.000 It's really an amazing thing.
00:23:09.000 Andrew McCarthy, who's done a good job of covering this stuff over at National Review,
00:23:13.000 he says, listening to the prosecution summation by Joshua Steinglass, it is quite amazing
00:23:17.000 how explicitly the state is relying on violations of federal election law as the other crime
00:23:22.000 that Donald Trump was allegedly concealing by causing his business records to be falsified.
00:23:26.000 It's impossible to draw any conclusion other than that the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg knew that, as a state prosecutor, his enforcement of federal law would be incredibly controversial since he has no such authority.
00:23:36.000 The federal authorities that do have such authority investigated Trump and opted not to prosecute.
00:23:40.000 To get this prosecution done, Bragg is simply making up his own version of federal law.
00:23:46.000 Prosecutors hit in the tall grass until summation are now emphatically describing Trump as having blatantly violated federal campaign law.
00:23:52.000 But again, the federal government investigated Trump for this and came up with nada.
00:23:56.000 So what exactly is the charge here?
00:23:59.000 Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass told jurors Tuesday Trump forged a corrupt bargain with former fixer Michael Cohen and a tabloid publisher to silence negative stories, resulting in one of the most valuable contributions ever made to the Trump campaign.
00:24:09.000 He said this scheme, quick to this time, could very well be what got Mr. Trump elected.
00:24:14.000 Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, by contrast, argued there was no such conspiracy, and that prosecutors had built their entire case around Michael Cohen, who said that Blanche had lied on the stand.
00:24:26.000 He then proceeded to dub Michael Cohen a gloat, or greatest liar of all time.
00:24:34.000 And these closing arguments are incredibly weak.
00:24:35.000 Even CNN is like, yeah, this is, CNN analysts are like, this is not a real thing.
00:24:40.000 Here's CNN legal analyst Randy Zelland.
00:24:43.000 He says they did not prove their case.
00:24:45.000 They fell way short, because let's start with reasonable doubt.
00:24:48.000 There is reasonable doubt all over this case.
00:24:52.000 Where is Keith Schiller?
00:24:54.000 Where is Allen Weisselberg?
00:24:56.000 How did Michael Cohen get away with stealing $30,000?
00:24:59.000 Hold a pity party for him.
00:25:02.000 Stormy Daniels, let's hold a pity party for her.
00:25:04.000 Why do we need to know whether or not the former president wore a condom or not?
00:25:08.000 It's simply about, did the former president know that Books, his records, false entries.
00:25:14.000 For legal fees, Michael Cohen was his lawyer.
00:25:17.000 Did he intend to cover up the election or to protect his family?
00:25:20.000 It's everywhere.
00:25:25.000 That is correct.
00:25:26.000 That is all correct.
00:25:27.000 And so what this looks like mostly is a setup by the Biden administration.
00:25:30.000 It looks like a setup by the Biden campaign and Alvin Bragg is just the adjunct part of that.
00:25:34.000 And then they try to get Trump in court.
00:25:36.000 And then it turns out everybody watches that.
00:25:37.000 And then Biden's so frustrated that they're watching the trial that his people, meaning Democrats, helped set up.
00:25:44.000 Then he has to deploy Robert De Niro.
00:25:46.000 Good luck to this campaign.
00:25:47.000 Seriously, good luck to this campaign.
00:25:48.000 What a joke they are.
00:25:49.000 I've never seen such an incompetent campaign in my entire life.
00:25:52.000 I've watched a lot of political campaigns over the course of my time in politics.
00:25:56.000 The Kerry campaign in 2004, bad campaign.
00:25:58.000 This campaign by Joe Biden is leagues worse than that campaign.
00:26:03.000 Maybe because the actual candidate is also leagues worse because he's actually the president and terrible, terrible, terrible at this.
00:26:10.000 Truly awful at this.
00:26:13.000 Every major issue that Americans are facing, the Biden administration continues to blow.
00:26:17.000 So, for example, America's southern border still ushering in hundreds of thousands of people every single month.
00:26:25.000 Well, on 60 Minutes.
00:26:26.000 Biden's ex-border chief, Raul Ortiz, he says, you know, Joe Biden never even called.
00:26:32.000 He never even called to find out what was going on at the southern border.
00:26:35.000 Immigration is an issue that Biden continues to completely ignore.
00:26:38.000 It still ranks high on Americans' concerns in terms of general... Again, Biden's issue list is totally different from Americans' issue list.
00:26:46.000 Americans' issue list is inflation in the economy, immigration, Those are like the top two issues that Americans say they care about.
00:26:55.000 And Joe Biden's top issues are like, how do I please pro-Hamas voters in Dearborn, Michigan by trying to split the baby?
00:27:01.000 And can we talk about transing the kids?
00:27:03.000 And also, you guys are all wrong about the economy.
00:27:05.000 Inflation is fine and you're doing fine.
00:27:07.000 Why don't you just shut up and take it?
00:27:09.000 Here is the ex-Biden border chief.
00:27:12.000 I've never had one conversation with the president or the vice president for that matter.
00:27:17.000 And so I was the chief of the border patrol.
00:27:19.000 I commanded 21,000 people.
00:27:23.000 That's a problem.
00:27:26.000 Yeah, it is.
00:27:27.000 But again, Biden keeps having his people just deny his way around his incompetence.
00:27:30.000 Here's Alejandro Mayorkas, the Department of Homeland Security head, saying it is false to claim that Joe Biden's border policy encourages illegal immigration.
00:27:39.000 That is false.
00:27:41.000 If we take a look at migration, not just at our southern border, but in context, the level of migration throughout the hemisphere is unprecedented and throughout the world.
00:27:52.000 It's the greatest level of displacement of migration since World War II.
00:27:58.000 I think there are about 73 million displaced people in the world.
00:28:03.000 The reasons why people leave their countries of origin are those with which we are quite familiar.
00:28:12.000 Okay, good luck with this particular argument.
00:28:14.000 We'll get some more on this in just a moment.
00:28:16.000 First, Grand Canyon University.
00:28:17.000 It's a private Christian university in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.
00:28:20.000 GCU believes our creator has endowed us with certain unalienable rights.
00:28:23.000 Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.

00:28:28.000 creating a ripple effect of transformation for generations to come. Whether you're pursuing a

00:28:37.000 learning environments are designed to help you achieve your degree. GCU has over 330 academic
00:28:42.000 programs as of September 2023. Find your purpose today at Grand Canyon University. Private,
00:28:47.000 Christian, affordable. Visit gcu.edu. That's gcu.edu.
00:28:51.000 Meanwhile, when it comes to economic issues, it turns out that Americans are suffering. And the
00:28:58.000 Biden administration simply continues to pretend that they're not.
00:29:02.000 And so everything is totally fine.
00:29:04.000 So, for example, fast food, which a huge number of Americans eat, obviously, and are reliant upon, fast food has grown extraordinarily expensive.
00:29:13.000 As townhall.com writes, according to a recent non-probability survey conducted by LendingTree, nearly 80% of American consumers view fast food joints as an extravagant meal.
00:29:22.000 In 2019, a McDonald's Big Mac hamburger cost $3.99.
00:29:24.000 Four years later, A Big Mac costs $8.29, more than doubling.
00:29:33.000 A Subway BLT foot-long sandwich used to cost $5.50.
00:29:35.000 Today, it sells for nearly $9.
00:29:38.000 A chicken burrito was $6.50 in 2019.
00:29:41.000 In 2024, that is now $10.70.
00:29:45.000 62% of Americans are eating out less due to the rising costs under Joe Biden.
00:29:50.000 And the fact that even the supposed cheap eating is really, really expensive, that is the thing that Joe Biden cannot get around.
00:29:58.000 But meanwhile, he's trotting out his people to please, again, members of his base who should already be locked in.
00:30:03.000 So he trotted out yesterday his energy advisor.
00:30:07.000 This is so incompetent.
00:30:08.000 Amos Hochstein.
00:30:09.000 He trotted out Amos Hochstein, his energy advisor, to talk about accelerating the energy transition.
00:30:16.000 Does the president still want to keep moving forward with the speed of his forced transition as quickly as has been?
00:30:23.000 Well, I think what President Biden wants to do is two things at the same time.
00:30:28.000 Number one is to accelerate the energy transition.
00:30:31.000 And number two is to make sure that we have enough supplies in the energy market that we have lower prices for consumers during this transition.
00:30:41.000 Okay, so in other words, yeah, we are going to completely jack the entire energy industry, but we're also going to release oil reserves so as to falsely lower the price just before the election.
00:30:49.000 Americans are not going to be fooled by this.
00:30:51.000 Then, this same guy, he says, drilling restrictions are somehow good for the American people.
00:30:55.000 I'd love to hear that one.
00:30:57.000 I know that the common man is sitting around thinking, man, what I could really use right now is more drilling restrictions.
00:31:03.000 You know, there are restrictions in place going forward, so why not loosen some of that while we make this transition?
00:31:11.000 So Ed, it's very important to note that some of these restrictions that you're citing are good for the American people.
00:31:18.000 Increasing the royalties for the first time in decades is a good deal for the American public so that the American people can benefit from this as well.
00:31:28.000 Oh, well, yeah, that does seem like the American people are going to benefit.
00:31:30.000 You know, more restrictions on the thing that you put in your car.
00:31:33.000 Probably we're all going to be super happy with that.
00:31:35.000 And the absolute disconnect between the Biden administration and reality, it's complete.
00:31:39.000 That break with reality is complete, which is why you get delusional enough to deploy Robert De Niro.
00:31:44.000 to the Trump trial to get attention or something.
00:31:47.000 Okay, in just a second, we'll get to the latest in the Middle East.
00:31:50.000 The media have a really, really bad habit.
00:31:52.000 That habit is Hamas says something and the media just believe it, parrot it, trumpet it, echo it for literally days, and then it turns out that, wait, wait for it, wait for it, it turns out the genocidal terror group is lying.
00:32:03.000 I know, shocker to me, shocker to you.
00:32:05.000 We'll get to more on that in a moment.
00:32:07.000 Jeremy's second generation razors.
00:32:09.000 They're here.
00:32:09.000 They're bigger.
00:32:10.000 Better.
00:32:11.000 Blacker.
00:32:11.000 You see, we brought in the experts to help show how great the new razors are.
00:32:14.000 The result was our viral introduction to Black Jeremy.
00:32:18.000 We learned that DEI isn't actually for minorities.
00:32:20.000 It's just to make liberal white ladies feel hella virtuous.
00:32:24.000 So, while other razor companies are concerned with DEI and woke ideologies we're concerned with making, great razors, right?
00:32:29.000 Check these out.
00:32:30.000 Our second generation razors have been radically redesigned, featuring a new ergonomic handle for superior durability and sharper, long-lasting blades.
00:32:37.000 You can get the brand new Sprint 3 for a quick, clean shave, or the new and improved Precision 5 for an exceptionally smooth and close shave.
00:32:43.000 Head on over to jeremysrazors.com and start shaving like a man.
00:32:46.000 Not a manifesto.
00:32:47.000 And don't worry, we're keeping Black Jeremy not to please DEI, but because we think he's cool.
00:32:51.000 Go check him out in the second greatest commercial ever, which already has seven and a half million views over at the YouTubes.
00:32:57.000 Well, meanwhile, again, the Biden administration, they have a tough time because their party is split between people who really, really hate the West and are perfectly willing to believe terrorist groups and or side with them, and people who are a little uncomfortable with that.
00:33:08.000 And so the Biden administration, because Joe Biden is incapable of taking a stand on nearly anything, he tries to have it halfway.
00:33:14.000 Well, that Reality reared its ugly head yesterday when a White House reporter named Ed O'Keefe idiotically asked John Kirby, who's the spokesperson for the National Security Council, he asked him about an event that happened in Rafah.
00:33:28.000 So, there have been multiple events during the course of the Gaza War that Hamas has lied about.
00:33:33.000 They lied about the Al Shifa Hospital.
00:33:34.000 Then there were the lies about Israel's humanitarian aid.
00:33:36.000 Israel has been shipping in literally hundreds of trucks worth of humanitarian aid.
00:33:41.000 All the time.
00:33:41.000 Then there were the lies about Israel targeting a World Central Food Kitchen convoy, when in reality what happened is that Hamas fighters, apparently, were riding on the convoy.
00:33:50.000 That thing went under, like, a covered area.
00:33:52.000 And then, when it emerged, Israel tried to get in touch with the drivers, tried to get in touch with the World Central Kitchen.
00:33:58.000 Nobody would call them back.
00:33:59.000 And then, because they only had infrared cameras on the thing, they assumed that it was terrorists in there.
00:34:03.000 So it was an accidental hit.
00:34:04.000 And that turned into a worldwide conflagration of rage at Israel.
00:34:08.000 Meanwhile, the Americans, the rest of the world community, they started claiming that Israel wasn't allowing enough humanitarian aid, so they built an idiot $320 million pier which is now floating off into the Mediterranean in order to bring aid into Gaza, all of which was hijacked by Hamas.
00:34:23.000 So Hamas lies, they lie about their death statistics, they lie about their terrorists, they lie about everything because it turns out people who wish to commit genocidal murder lie all the time.
00:34:33.000 So they lied again over the weekend and they suggested that Israel had deliberately targeted a protected humanitarian area in order to kill a couple of Hamas terrorists and that they had killed some 45 people and wounded hundreds of other people with like a heavy bomb.
00:34:46.000 It turns out every element, literally every element of that was a lie.
00:34:50.000 Literally every element.
00:34:52.000 And so here was IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari explain what actually happened in this particular bombing.
00:34:58.000 Following this strike a large fire ignited for reasons that are still being investigated.
00:35:07.000 Our munition alone could not have ignited a fire of this size.
00:35:11.000 I want to repeat it.
00:35:12.000 Our munition alone could not have ignited a fire of this size.
00:35:17.000 Our investigation seeks to determine what may have caused such a large fire to ignite.
00:35:24.000 We are looking into all possibilities, including the option that weapons stored in a compound next to our target, which we did not know of, may have ignited as a result of the strike.
00:35:39.000 So here's what actually happened.
00:35:40.000 What actually happened is the IDF targeted two senior Hamas terrorists that had tracked by aerial surveillance to a Hamas compound in Rafah.
00:35:46.000 They then confirmed that there were no women or kids in the compound.
00:35:49.000 The strike took place more than a mile outside the al-Mawassi designated humanitarian zone and more than 180 meters, which is like...
00:35:57.000 Just doing some basic math here.
00:35:59.000 That is more than 500 feet from the shelters that caught fire.
00:36:03.000 The strike was carried out using 37-pound warheads, the smallest warheads in the Israeli arsenal.
00:36:08.000 So, this lie traveled all around the world.
00:36:10.000 Hamas declared, and everybody believed it, that Israel had deliberately bombed a refugee camp in order to kill civilians.
00:36:16.000 People, including people who I consider friends, like Piers Morgan, immediately jumped out to suggest that Israel had bombed, with heavy bombs, a humanitarian protected area that Israel must immediately stop in Rafa, which of course led to cheers from Hamas, because it turns out that people believe their lies.
00:36:31.000 All the way up to and including that White House reporter, Ed O'Keefe, I mentioned.
00:36:34.000 So here was Ed O'Keefe questioning John Kirby about why America wasn't more angry at Israel.
00:36:38.000 The answer, of course, is that America knows that Hamas was lying.
00:36:41.000 That's the reason.
00:36:42.000 But here's Ed O'Keefe, reporter.
00:36:58.000 And I kind of take a little offense at the question.
00:37:01.000 No civilian casualties is the right number of civilian casualties.
00:37:05.000 And this is not something that we've turned a blind eye to, nor has it been something we've ignored or neglected to raise with our Israeli counterparts, including, Ed, this weekend as a result of this particular strike.
00:37:16.000 Now, they're investigating it, so let's let them investigate it and see what they come up with.
00:37:22.000 By the way, no civilian casualties is an impossibility because Hamas is hiding among civilians and putting weapons storage facilities next to civilian areas.
00:37:31.000 But all of this, these sorts of lies from radical Islamic terror groups, they lead to conflagrations all over the globe.
00:37:38.000 So last night, pro-Hamas protesters lit up the Israeli embassy in Mexico in response to this lie.
00:37:47.000 Meanwhile, at the exact same time all of this is happening, Islamic Jihad, another Palestinian terror group, released a video of an Amazon worker named Alexander Trupanov, who's currently being held hostage in Gaza.
00:37:58.000 So just to get this straight, the media believe that these are the believable people, the people who actually kidnap Westerners, Western employees, Israelis, Americans, kidnap those people, murder those people, slaughter their babies deliberately, not as civilian casualties and targeting terrorists, deliberately.
00:38:15.000 Those are the people you ought to believe.
00:38:17.000 When you jump to a conclusion.
00:38:20.000 Trufanov's being held by Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
00:38:23.000 He said in the next few days you will hear the truth of what happened to me as well as the other prisoners in Gaza.
00:38:28.000 He also asked people to wait patiently according to the outlet.
00:38:32.000 Again, the fact that the West has any trouble in terms of the moral calculus here is insane to me.
00:38:39.000 The fact that anyone believes anything coming out of the mouth of Hamas is totally crazy.
00:38:43.000 It's totally nuts.
00:38:46.000 It's insane.
00:38:47.000 But again, the White House is incompetent.
00:38:48.000 They're incompetent at this stuff.
00:38:50.000 Because what John Kirby, and what he would have said earlier in the war was, every civilian casualty is on Hamas, they should surrender immediately, surrender to the hostages, and the leadership should go to jail, or be killed, or go into exile.
00:39:00.000 That would be the actual solution to what's happening right now in the Gaza Strip.
00:39:04.000 But they won't say any of that stuff, or at least they don't say it anymore.
00:39:07.000 In fact, the White House is even having a hard time condemning the International Criminal Court, which is totally nuts, by the way, because the ICC has targeted Americans.
00:39:15.000 Forget about what's going on in Israel.
00:39:16.000 The ICC has targeted American soldiers in Afghanistan for supposed prosecution.
00:39:22.000 According to Axios, the Biden administration on Tuesday said it opposes sanctions being pushed by Republicans in Congress against the ICC.
00:39:30.000 Now, why?
00:39:31.000 I have a question.
00:39:31.000 Why?
00:39:32.000 At a Senate hearing last week, Antony Blinken signaled the Biden administration would support bipartisan action in Congress against the prosecutor of the ICC.
00:39:40.000 But now the White House is saying, no, no, no, no, no.
00:39:43.000 They said they're not going to support any sort of action or legislation against the ICC.
00:39:49.000 Which is ridiculous.
00:39:51.000 We should be seeking to undermine the ICC for our own sake.
00:39:53.000 Forget about Israel or any other country.
00:39:55.000 The ICC is a trash organization staffed by a bunch of pseudo-human rights lawyers who are deliberately aiming their fire inside the tent.
00:40:05.000 But the Biden administration can't just say that.
00:40:07.000 They can't just say that.
00:40:08.000 Why can't they just say that?
00:40:09.000 Well, Claire McCaskill, former senator from Missouri, She sort of let the cat out of the bag.
00:40:14.000 The chief Biden goal with regard to Israel and Hamas is not, in fact, to finish off Hamas.
00:40:21.000 The chief Biden goal is to finish off Netanyahu's administration.
00:40:25.000 That is what Biden apparently wants.
00:40:26.000 I mean, she literally says this.
00:40:28.000 She literally says the most important goal for Joe Biden is to get Benjamin Netanyahu, the elected prime minister of Israel, who is currently sitting in a coalition war cabinet with his political opponents, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, to resign.
00:40:41.000 She's saying it, okay?
00:40:42.000 I'm not saying it, she's saying it.
00:40:44.000 So just to get this straight, by the way, nothing like this has ever been said about Vladimir Zelensky in Ukraine.
00:40:48.000 The chief goal of the Americans is to get rid of Vladimir Zelensky so some sort of negotiated solution can be found there.
00:40:54.000 When it comes to an actual honest-to-God genocidal terror group, slaughtering people and then hiding among civilians and then murdering the civilians who try to get humanitarian aid, the chief goal is to change the administration in Israel.
00:41:05.000 Here's Claire McCaskill, former senator.
00:41:08.000 The most important goal, I believe, for this presidency right now is to get Netanyahu to resign.
00:41:16.000 And Netanyahu is holding on to power by his fingernails because of the far right, who sees the destruction of Gaza and all areas of any Palestinians in Israel as their goal.
00:41:30.000 Their goal is very extreme.
00:41:33.000 And that's how he is in power.
00:41:35.000 So if he backs up on them, he cannot be in power anymore because he doesn't have the coalition he needs.
00:41:42.000 So I think that Biden has to continue to try to press other people in the Israeli government to move as quickly and as strongly as they can to get Netanyahu out of that position.
00:41:55.000 This is so insane.
00:41:56.000 You're literally undermining a Democratic ally in a time of war against a terror group, actually multiple terror groups, because they're also fighting Hezbollah and they're fighting the Houthis.
00:42:04.000 That's what Biden's focused on?
00:42:05.000 According to Claire McCaskill, that's what he should focus on?
00:42:07.000 Is getting rid of Netanyahu?
00:42:10.000 And this notion, by the way, that Netanyahu is being run by his far right.
00:42:14.000 Believe you me, that is not the case.
00:42:17.000 The reason I say that is because I know members of the supposed far right in the Israeli cabinet.
00:42:21.000 They are deeply frustrated with Netanyahu because they think that he is surrendering to Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot.
00:42:28.000 This whole ridiculous charade that this is all about Netanyahu, again, what is that really?
00:42:32.000 What this is about is that the Biden administration has a mindset that is not, not true.
00:42:37.000 And it has been not true for generations.
00:42:39.000 And that mindset is that if Israel makes enough concessions to terrorists, then magically peace will bloom in the Middle East.
00:42:44.000 It is a lie.
00:42:45.000 It has always been a lie.
00:42:45.000 October 7th proved conclusively that it was a lie, but they can't let go of the lie.
00:42:49.000 So it must be a cycle of violence.
00:42:51.000 Somehow Hamas versus Israel is a cycle of violence as opposed to Israel defending itself against a genocidal terror group.
00:42:58.000 So, it must be the Israeli leadership.
00:43:00.000 The big problem is Sinwar and Netanyahu.
00:43:02.000 This is so ridiculous.
00:43:03.000 But this is what Biden can't even say.
00:43:05.000 Biden can't even just... Lack of moral clarity leads people to believe that you're a bad leader.
00:43:10.000 And Joe Biden, by the way, is a terrible, terrible leader.
00:43:14.000 Which is just one reason why, again, you're seeing people who are shifting from the Democratic camp to the Republican camp.
00:43:18.000 One of those people Over the course of the last 24 hours, pretty prominent, Dennis Quaid.
00:43:22.000 So Dennis Quaid famously raised money for Barack Obama in 2008.
00:43:28.000 As far as I'm aware, Quaid has been basically a lifelong Democrat.
00:43:31.000 He now says that he's going to vote for Donald Trump.
00:43:35.000 What do you think of Trump?
00:43:36.000 I think I'm going to vote for him.
00:43:38.000 Really?
00:43:38.000 Yeah, in the next election.
00:43:40.000 Yes, I am.
00:43:41.000 Are you ready for the blowback?
00:43:42.000 Well, yeah.
00:43:43.000 Which inevitably comes with Trump.
00:43:44.000 Well, you know, I think this election everybody's got to, I think they're going to take a side or whatever, but it's...
00:43:53.000 It just makes sense.
00:43:56.000 I was ready not to vote for Trump until what I saw is, more than politics, I see a weaponization of our justice system and a challenge to our Constitution.
00:44:11.000 Us as Americans, I don't think we're going to have.
00:44:14.000 And, you know, Trump is the most investigated person probably in the history of the world.
00:44:22.000 And they haven't been able to really get him on anything.
00:44:28.000 He's not wrong.
00:44:29.000 There are a lot of moderates and independents who are starting to believe this sort of stuff because, again, Joe Biden really, really bad at this.
00:44:34.000 Well, meanwhile, in the most delicious story of the day, it's always funny when supporters of DEI get caught saying the truth about DEI.
00:44:43.000 So, there is a person whose name is David Austin Walsh.
00:44:48.000 And David Austin Walsh is an academic and he put out a thread the other day talking about his problem getting hired.
00:44:57.000 He says, I just published an academic book that is getting plotted.
00:45:00.000 I've written numerous peer-reviewed articles.
00:45:02.000 I've written for the New York Times.
00:45:03.000 I'm a talented teacher.
00:45:04.000 My class has been very popular at every university I've taught at.
00:45:07.000 Hell, I had a kid here at Yale try to enroll in my class this past semester because he heard through word of mouth my class at UVA was really good.
00:45:12.000 But I'm 35 years old, I'm four plus years post-PhD, and quite frankly, I'm also a white dude.
00:45:17.000 Combine those factors together, and I'm for all intents and purposes unemployable as a 20th century American historian.
00:45:23.000 I mean, I applied to something like 40 jobs this year, but all four of them were African American and or race ethnicity positions.
00:45:29.000 And despite my work explicitly being about white supremacy, I stand no chance of being hired for those positions.
00:45:35.000 Uh-oh, he said the true thing.
00:45:37.000 You're not supposed to say the true thing, which is that it turns out that affirmative action is a zero-sum game, which means that if you are talented and white, you are absolutely screwed if you are up against a slightly less talented black person in academia, for example, because diversity trumps merit every time at these universities.
00:45:54.000 But this meant he then had to do a amount of struggle sessions.
00:45:57.000 That means that he has to put on the dunce cap and people beat him and such.
00:46:00.000 So he says, quote, I want to apologize for that thread, which was a bad idea and came from a place of pain, anger, and frustration.
00:46:07.000 It was fundamentally a breach of solidarity on my part.
00:46:10.000 Ah, thank you, sir.
00:46:11.000 May I have another?
00:46:12.000 We all know that history in particular, and the humanities in general, are dying.
00:46:15.000 We all know that the university itself is a profoundly unequal and unfair institution, and we had an object reminder of that with the brutal suppression of the campus protests over the past month.
00:46:23.000 We all know the academy is random, cruel, and chaotic.
00:46:26.000 We all know the reasons why.
00:46:27.000 Austerity.
00:46:28.000 Corporatization.
00:46:29.000 Right-wing assaults on higher education.
00:46:32.000 Oh, you sad little man.
00:46:33.000 Oh, you sad, sad person.
00:46:35.000 So you said the truth about why you didn't get hired, which is that you're a white dude who's 35 plus and talented.
00:46:41.000 And then when called on it, you're like, you know why I can't get a job?
00:46:44.000 It's because of all the right wingers who run academia.
00:46:46.000 It's because of their austerity and corporatization.
00:46:49.000 Can we be clear about the situation in college campuses?
00:46:51.000 The DEI staff at college campuses has increased exponentially over the course of the last 20 years.
00:46:57.000 A huge percentage of top university hires are no longer professors.
00:47:02.000 They're administrators who are dealing with all this HRDEI nonsense.
00:47:06.000 And then if a professor does get hired, you get all sorts of plaudits if that person happens to be a person of color.
00:47:11.000 But this dude has to somehow twist himself into pretzels and stick his head up his own colon in order to come up with the conclusion that this is all a right-wing conspiracy to deny him a job.
00:47:19.000 Well, I hope that he suffers an obscure unemployment, this guy.
00:47:22.000 He deserves every bit of it.
00:47:23.000 Because if you surrender to the mob, And then you declare, like a character from Darkness at Noon, that you are in fact loyal to the same mob that is attempting to destroy you.
00:47:33.000 You deserve every single thing that you receive.
00:47:37.000 So again, slow clap for David Austin Walsh.
00:47:40.000 What an absolute king among Wookiees.
00:47:44.000 And again, is that gonna earn him a job?
00:47:45.000 Nah.
00:47:46.000 They'll just take it, put it in their back pocket, say that he's still a traitor of some sort to their cause, and then he will be put in jail for the foreseeable future.
00:47:55.000 So, really, really good stuff right there from academia.
00:48:00.000 Meanwhile, I will say that pressure on academia is having some effect.
00:48:03.000 Harvard now says it will no longer take positions on matters outside the university, which would be like a normal position for a university to take.
00:48:10.000 If put into practice, according to the New York Times, Harvard no longer issue official statements of empathy, which it did for Ukraine after the Russian invasion and for the victims of the October 7th Hamas attacks in Israel.
00:48:19.000 For example, Well, I mean, actually, what it would mean is that they wouldn't put out expressions of sympathy for Hamas terrorists in conjunction with sympathy for Israeli victims, which is basically what they did.
00:48:32.000 Like, we're sorry for everything bad happening in the Middle East right now.
00:48:36.000 This would be correct, by the way, is they should stay out of all of it.
00:48:38.000 They should stay out of all of it.
00:48:40.000 But, you know, I think that what really should happen at this point There should be a serious look into a wealth tax on the endowments of these universities.
00:48:48.000 All these universities are very much in favor of a wealth tax, by the way.
00:48:50.000 It seems to me you should start with their endowments, their multi-billion dollar endowments.
00:48:54.000 We can claw all that back.
00:48:55.000 And if you want to relieve student loan debt with that, why not use their endowments to do so, since they're the ones who have profited so heavily from their unemployable graduates in gender studies.
00:49:03.000 Alrighty, folks.
00:49:05.000 Coming up, we will jump into the situation with Taiwan, which could go hot any moment.
