The Ben Shapiro Show - The Democratic Propaganda Media Come For The Children | Ep. 1450

00:00:00.000 The legacy media parrot Democratic talking points about a bill banning indoctrination of children into left-wing sexual and gender values.

00:01:34.000 So, if you just watched Legacy Media, if all you consumed was Legacy Media all day long, you would think that it is now illegal to say the word gay in the state of Florida.

00:01:43.000 And apparently every left-wing celebrity you know thinks it is illegal to say the word gay in Florida.

00:01:48.000 Mark Hamill? 0.98

00:01:50.000 Luke Skywalker, he just tweeted out yesterday a giant tweet that just said gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, like a thousand times. 0.96

00:01:56.000 You see every celebrity that you can think of tweeting out the word gay because somehow this is a blow against the evil, repressive state of Florida, which of course does have a fairly significant gay population living within it. 0.86

00:02:08.000 There are a bunch of people who are tweeting out yesterday that they were being silenced and erased from Florida life because of the so-called don't say gay bill.

00:02:15.000 Again, if you thought that there was a bill called don't say gay that had just passed Florida legislature and that have been signed into law by the governor.

00:02:21.000 Number one, that would be violative of the First Amendment. 0.89

00:02:23.000 And number two, you might think that there would be a punishment for doing any of these things.

00:02:27.000 There is not because there is no don't say gay bill in the state of Florida. 0.92

00:02:30.000 Instead, there is a bill that says that teachers are not allowed to sexually or gender ideology indoctrinate children K through three.

00:02:38.000 And then they are not allowed to do any of that stuff in a non-age-appropriate fashion beyond that age.

00:02:43.000 5th, 6th grade, you're not supposed to be teaching kids about hormone treatments that change your sex, for example.

00:02:48.000 That would be non-age-appropriate for kids who are maybe 11 or 12 years old.

00:02:53.000 The bill does not say the word gay.

00:02:54.000 The bill says the word parent about 30 times because the entire bill is about how parents ought to have the chief decision-making power with regard to how their kids are taught about controversial sexual and gender issues.

00:03:08.000 It is not up to the schools to indoctrinate kids into the belief that all forms of sex are morally equivalent.

00:03:12.000 It is not up to schools to instruct kids on different types of sex.

00:03:16.000 It is not up to schools to instruct small children on the lie that men can become women and women can become men.

00:03:22.000 But the entire legacy media just took what the left called this bill and then they repeated it and pretended that that was the name of the bill.

00:03:29.000 Now, this would be the equivalent of if Democrats passed some sort of bill in, say, the state of New York and enshrined abortion up till the ninth month, which is what the New York legislature did.

00:03:37.000 And the Republicans had termed this the Kill Babies Bill, which would be a much more accurate take on the bill than, for example, Don't Say Gay.

00:03:44.000 But let's say that they had named it that because, obviously, they opposed the bills. 0.82

00:03:48.000 They called the Let's Kill Babies Bill.

00:03:50.000 And the entire media had immediately started using that language. 0.64

00:03:53.000 Every headline has started using that language.

00:03:56.000 That would demonstrate that the media were just lapdogs for the Republican Party.

00:04:00.000 However, in this particular case, they have done that with the Democratic talking point with regard to the so-called Don't Say Gay Bill.

00:04:06.000 It is not a so-called Don't Say Gay Bill.

00:04:08.000 It is a Democratic propaganda labeled Don't Say Gay Bill because the bill, again, does not say that.

00:04:14.000 I've explained this 1,000 times on the show already.

00:04:17.000 Protecting the innocence of children and granting parents the authority to actually raise their children as they see fit with regard to sexual mores.

00:04:25.000 This seems like baseline decency.

00:04:29.000 And yet this has become the most controversial issue.

00:04:30.000 The left has decided to embrace this issue.

00:04:32.000 This is the issue.

00:04:33.000 This is the hill they want to die on because their idea is that if they do not get to indoctrinate all the children on their particular values, then a small fragment of kids who may be suffering from gender dysphoria are going to kill themselves. 0.65

00:04:45.000 The idea is That they are the sympathetic ones and all they need in order to promote their sympathy is to override your parental values and destroy your relationship with your child.

00:04:54.000 That's all they need.

00:04:54.000 All they need is to just take your kids and put them in some sort of platonic school where they get to indoctrinate their kids, your kids, in their values.

00:05:03.000 And then the world will be a utopian place.

00:05:06.000 I mean, sure, your kids may believe a bunch of lies about gender.

00:05:09.000 Sure, your kids may believe a bunch of things you believe to be immoral about sexuality.

00:05:14.000 But at least they've been able to create a utopia of their own making.

00:05:17.000 They need your kids as tools in this mission.

00:05:20.000 That is why they are fussing about this bill.

00:05:22.000 Again, this is not a bill that says you can't say gay in the state of Florida.

00:05:25.000 It's not even a bill that says that you can't say the word gay in school.

00:05:27.000 It says that you are not allowed to indoctrinate small children into your sexual values, and the left is having a bleep fit over it.

00:05:33.000 Which demonstrates where they are.

00:05:34.000 And the fact that the media just reflect whatever the propaganda point of the day is, is truly astonishing.

00:05:39.000 Let me just show you some of the media headlines that have used the Don't Say Gay labeling.

00:05:46.000 Because there are a lot of them.

00:05:47.000 There are a lot of them.

00:05:48.000 The media universally adopted this language because the memo went out.

00:05:52.000 So, for example, the AP.

00:05:55.000 This is just a straight headline.

00:05:56.000 It's not an opinion headline.

00:05:57.000 From Anthony Izaguirre, who I assume didn't write the headline.

00:06:00.000 It says, Don't Say Gay Bill Passes in Florida Goes to Governor.

00:06:03.000 That's not the name of the bill.

00:06:05.000 This is like if Republicans had labeled Build Back Better, Giant Waste of Money Pork Barrel Spending Bullcrap Bill, and that had been in the headline of an AP article.

00:06:12.000 Don't Say Gay Bill. 0.75

00:06:13.000 Axios said, Florida Lawmakers Pass Don't Say Gay Bill.

00:06:18.000 That is not the name of the bill?

00:06:20.000 The word gay does not appear in the bill?

00:06:22.000 That is not the topic of the bill?

00:06:26.000 You have other headlines.

00:06:26.000 Don't Say Gay Bill Passes Florida Senate.

00:06:29.000 All of these headlines just over and over and over again.

00:06:33.000 Every single outlet that you can imagine labeled this thing the quote-unquote Don't Say Gay Bill.

00:06:38.000 Every single one.

00:06:39.000 It's incredible.

00:06:41.000 We're talking about Axios.

00:06:41.000 They went along with it.

00:06:42.000 We're talking about ABC News.

00:06:45.000 We're talking about NBC News.

00:06:47.000 We're talking pretty much every outlet you could possibly imagine.

00:06:51.000 The White House calls it the Don't Say Gay Bill because they are all on the same page. 0.99

00:06:54.000 They get the talking points from the Democratic Party and they walk directly in line with it.

00:06:57.000 And this is coming directly from the White House.

00:06:59.000 Make no mistake.

00:07:00.000 This started ground up from a bunch of Democratic activists.

00:07:03.000 And now, because this White House is run by Democratic radicals, it is not a moderate administration, it does not even pretend to be a moderate administration anymore.

00:07:09.000 Jen Psaki yesterday suggested that this bill was quote unquote horrific and said that if you don't teach a kindergartner that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, or if there's a bill banning you from doing so, if you don't teach a second grader That all forms of sex are exactly morally equivalent.

00:07:23.000 And that all lifestyle choices are exactly the same and deserve equal respect and acceptance.

00:07:29.000 All of them.

00:07:29.000 If you don't do any of that stuff, then this is actually a form of bullying.

00:07:32.000 They're protecting your kids by indoctrinating them in their values.

00:07:36.000 By taking your kids and turning them against your values.

00:07:39.000 This is how they avoid bullying.

00:07:40.000 Because you're the bullies.

00:07:41.000 You, the parents, are the problem.

00:07:42.000 Again, this is so deeply ingrained in left-wing thinking right now.

00:07:45.000 That parents are the obstacle to a better tomorrow.

00:07:48.000 This is why you saw Terry McAuliffe say in that Virginia governor's race that parents should not have authority to determine what their kids learn.

00:07:53.000 Because parents are the enemy.

00:07:55.000 Parents are the problem. 0.99

00:07:56.000 Those little platoons, those families that represent the most valuable And the most durable form of human connection that we have.

00:08:04.000 They are an obstacle to the government being the great unifying glue in American life.

00:08:09.000 They want to be able to take your kids away from you and then turn their values against your values.

00:08:13.000 This is their goal.

00:08:14.000 They want it.

00:08:15.000 And they will call it a form of bullying if they don't get what they want.

00:08:18.000 So you must be bullied.

00:08:19.000 You must be silenced.

00:08:20.000 Your kids must be told stuff that you don't even have to know about it.

00:08:24.000 What this bill does is it says that if your kid starts being indoctrinated in this stuff, parents have to be notified.

00:08:29.000 Democrats object to this.

00:08:30.000 They don't want parents notified.

00:08:31.000 They want to be able to tell your child that he can be a she in first grade and not tell you about it. 1.00

00:08:37.000 They want to be able to teach your kids About myriad forms of sexual exploration when the kid's eight and they don't want to have to tell you about it.

00:08:45.000 Otherwise, what the hell are they objecting to? 0.66

00:08:47.000 So they have to lie. 0.87

00:08:48.000 They have to call it the Don't Say Gay Bill because that's not what the bill is.

00:08:51.000 And the entire media picks that up and then uses that as the propagandistic talking point.

00:08:54.000 Here's Jen Psaki leading the charge. 1.00

00:08:57.000 A bill like this, a bill that would discriminate against families, against kids, put these kids in a position of not getting the support they need at a time where that's exactly what they need, is discriminatory.

00:09:12.000 It's a form of bullying.

00:09:15.000 It is horrific.

00:09:19.000 It's horrific.

00:09:20.000 Now, get this straight.

00:09:21.000 It's horrific if you don't get to indoctrinate my kids.

00:09:23.000 That's horrific.

00:09:24.000 If I teach my kids my values, that's horrific.

00:09:26.000 Because parents are the problem.

00:09:28.000 They are the problem.

00:09:30.000 Again, there is an entire group of people on the left, and all they wish to do is indoctrinate kids into these sorts of values.

00:09:35.000 They want kids to learn these sorts of values.

00:09:37.000 Now, it's the worst in public schools, because there you're actually hijacking kids against their parents' wishes.

00:09:41.000 There are a whole group of parents who consensually, for some odd reason, decide that it's a good idea to give activists free reign over their children, to turn them into widgets on behalf of radical left-wing sexual morality.

00:09:54.000 Which is why you end up with a sex education summer camp for children in grades 3 to 5, In Indianapolis that teaches kids as young as seven about sexual education, including a condom demonstration for children.

00:10:08.000 According to the Daily Wire, there's a flyer for this particular sex-ed summer camp for kids in northern Indianapolis.

00:10:15.000 It says, at this age, kids are prime for level-headed learning.

00:10:17.000 They are information gatherers.

00:10:18.000 There is no shame or ickiness associated with using band-aids.

00:10:21.000 That same philosophy is applied to condoms and other barriers in this body-positive curriculum.

00:10:26.000 In addition, kids will not be separated by gender when learning about puberty, bodies, and sex because, quote, gender is a spectrum and everyone needs to learn about all bodies, according to this flyer.

00:10:35.000 And there are parents who will delegate their kids to places like this, which is how you end up with video of Chase and Buttigieg, Pete Buttigieg's husband, teaching small children, I mean these are kids, these are like 10, 11, 12 year old kids, to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the gay flag. 0.68

00:10:49.000 Now, parents presumably gave their permission to this sort of thing, but imagine for example, and I'm not going to go into what I think of parents who do this sort of thing, but Assume that this were not happening, for a second, at a place where parents gave permission.

00:11:03.000 It were just happening at your school.

00:11:05.000 And teachers were doing this with your kids, and not informing you.

00:11:08.000 Shouldn't that be illegal?

00:11:09.000 Wouldn't you imagine it should be?

00:11:11.000 But again, the folks who believe that these are the best values believe that you should have no say in whether these values get taught to your kids. 0.66

00:11:16.000 Here is Jason Buttigieg, Pete Buttigieg's husband, an ardent opponent of the bill in Florida, teaching small children To pledge allegiance to the gay flag, which, by the way, just on a moral level, you probably shouldn't be pledging allegiance to any flag that is just about where you wish to put your genitals.

00:11:35.000 That just seems like a... I don't care what we're talking about.

00:11:38.000 If there were a straight pride flag, I don't believe that you should be paying homage to it. 0.97

00:11:43.000 It's a ridiculous notion. 0.96

00:11:47.000 Clearly. 0.98

00:11:48.000 The idea that the center of your personality should be who you wish to have sex with, or how you are oriented, and that this is something you should pledge allegiance to, is a very bizarre one.

00:12:00.000 And it's meant in opposition, presumably, to other values, which is why you do it in the first place.

00:12:03.000 Here is Jason Buttigieg teaching small kids about this.

00:12:06.000 All right, I pledge my heart.

00:12:08.000 I pledge my heart.

00:12:10.000 To the rainbow.

00:12:11.000 To the rainbow.

00:12:12.000 Of the not so typical gay camp. 0.99

00:12:14.000 Of the not so typical gay camp. 0.99

00:12:16.000 One camp.

00:12:17.000 One camp.

00:12:18.000 Full of pride.

00:12:19.000 Full of pride.

00:12:20.000 Indivisible.

00:12:21.000 Indivisible.

00:12:22.000 With affirmation and equal rights for all.

00:12:24.000 With affirmation and equal rights for all.

00:12:27.000 Watch your heads.

00:12:28.000 Remember, for the left, pledging allegiance to the American flag would be indoctrination.

00:12:35.000 Pledging allegiance to the gay pride flag, that's just raising your kids in a healthy and decent way.

00:12:41.000 So, the left has decided that Disney has to sound off on this, because this is the shtick.

00:12:45.000 If you're a corporation, you must listen to what the left wants from you.

00:12:49.000 Well, if all this makes you uncomfortable, I have a solution for all your comfort needs.

00:12:52.000 I'm talking, of course, about C.U.T.S.

00:13:57.000 Meanwhile, the propagandistic efforts...

00:14:00.000 of the left have now reached the highest levels of corporate America. So woke capital rules the day right now. If you are a corporation, you can be pressured into doing just about anything by a bunch of people shouting at you. So what the media do is they play this game. Remember, they're democratic activists. They're not actually out there to just objectively cover the news and then provide good information. They lie, which is why all of their headlines include the overt lie that this bill is the don't say gay bill. So they then go to corporations and they say to

00:14:28.000 to these corporations. Why aren't your silence is deafening?

00:14:32.000 Your silence on this topic is deafening.

00:14:34.000 Now, you never see them do this on the other side.

00:14:37.000 You never see them say, OK, well, you know, a law just passed in the state of New York that allows killing up to the point of birth.

00:14:44.000 What does this corporation located in the state of New York have to say about that?

00:14:47.000 Are they on board with that?

00:14:49.000 Or this particular area has embraced defund the police.

00:14:52.000 Or this particular area believes in the mandatory indoctrination of children into these values.

00:14:56.000 Do you as a corporation believe in that?

00:14:58.000 By the way, it just shows you how far left our culture has moved.

00:15:01.000 At Disney, a corporation designed to create entertainment for children is now being called on the carpet for not embracing the indoctrination of small kids into sexually leftist ideology.

00:15:12.000 I mean, that just shows how far left the culture has moved. 0.79

00:15:15.000 Is that a company designed to preserve the innocence of children and provide them good, wholesome entertainment is now being shamed into embracing an agenda that says boys can be girls, girls can be boys, and kindergartners should be taught about gay sex.

00:15:28.000 Like, really, that's... We've moved in fascinating ways in our culture.

00:15:32.000 We certainly have.

00:15:34.000 So, Disney decided they had to respond, and the reason they decided that they had to respond, of course, is because they were being pressured by the left.

00:15:43.000 The left said over and over, and Disney is a left-wing company, run by left-wing people, and staffed by left-wing people, predominantly, and they were pressed by the media, and they were pressed by their employees, presumably, to do something about Florida.

00:15:53.000 Now, Disney, I will remind you, just produced a movie in China, right?

00:15:58.000 Mulan was produced in the Zhangjiang province, where they are actively holding a bunch of Muslims in captivity.

00:16:04.000 No words from Disney about China.

00:16:06.000 Disney has bases all over the world in actual repressive countries.

00:16:11.000 Disney is never asked by the media about any of those things.

00:16:14.000 Disney is only asked about Florida in the same way that Major League Baseball and Coca-Cola were only asked about Georgia after a voting law passed that was still more liberal on voting than the state of Delaware.

00:16:23.000 The media play this activist game.

00:16:24.000 There is no distinction anymore between the media and the folks over at Media Matters.

00:16:29.000 There's no distinction.

00:16:30.000 They're part of the same echo chamber.

00:16:31.000 They're staffed by the same people.

00:16:33.000 They're an activist group.

00:16:34.000 So what the media do is first they lie.

00:16:35.000 They say there's a don't say gay bill in Florida, which there is not.

00:16:38.000 Then they move on to the corporations and they say, why won't you do something about this?

00:16:41.000 Aren't you doing something about this?

00:16:43.000 So they guise it as journalism by phrasing the question thusly.

00:16:47.000 There's a bill in a state where you're located.

00:16:50.000 Do you have an opinion on that?

00:16:52.000 Of course, the threat is if you don't have an opinion on that, they're going to print a story about how you don't have an opinion on it and silence is violence.

00:16:58.000 If you don't forcibly and overtly reject that particular piece of legislation, this means you passed it.

00:17:04.000 You must agree with it.

00:17:06.000 Your silence is a scent to such legislation.

00:17:08.000 So presumably that means that the company, Disney, agrees with every value in every place that it is located.

00:17:15.000 Every single value.

00:17:16.000 It is both a communist country, it is both a communist company because it's located in China, and it is a capitalist company because it is located in America.

00:17:24.000 It is both a very left-wing company because it's located in California.

00:17:27.000 It's a very right-wing company because it's located in Florida.

00:17:29.000 Alternatively, it's just a company that produces a product and a service that people like to use.

00:17:34.000 But the left can't leave it at that.

00:17:35.000 So the journalists pretend that Disney has some sort of obligation to sound off on issues like this. 0.98

00:17:42.000 Now, this has been the way that the media worked this crap for a while. 0.90

00:17:44.000 For example, when the state of North Carolina passed a bill that said that public bathrooms should be separated by men and women, which seems pretty obvious. 0.99

00:17:53.000 The media went to places like the NCAA and they said, dude, do you have an opinion on this? 0.80

00:17:57.000 And what they meant by do you have an opinion on this is if you don't do something here, we're going to run a story about how bad and terrible and nasty you are.

00:18:04.000 So this is what the media did to Disney. 0.98

00:18:05.000 They said, don't say gay over and over and over. 0.96

00:18:07.000 They know that Disney is a very gay friendly company and that a lot of its employees are gay. 0.98

00:18:12.000 A lot of the people who use its content and like its content are gay. 0.93

00:18:16.000 And Disney is, as I say, on pretty much every issue, ranging from critical race theory to sexual ideas. 0.95

00:18:21.000 Very, very left-wing.

00:18:22.000 And so they go to Disney, and they say, what are you gonna- don't you have an opinion on this?

00:18:26.000 Don't you have an opinion?

00:18:27.000 So for a while, Bob Chapek just shut up, which is what he should do.

00:18:29.000 That's Disney's CEO.

00:18:31.000 What he should say is, we are located in a bunch of different polities all over the country and all over the world.

00:18:35.000 Just because we are located in these polities does not mean we agree with the policies of those places.

00:18:40.000 End of story.

00:18:40.000 Done.

00:18:41.000 But, Bob J. Peck's a coward. 1.00

00:18:43.000 Just like everybody in corporate America is a coward. 0.99

00:18:45.000 And they are deeply afraid of the left-wing.

00:18:46.000 Now, what they really should be afraid of, what Disney should be afraid of, is that it caves so far to left-wing values that parents stop consuming its product.

00:18:52.000 Because guess what?

00:18:54.000 It is my kids who consume Disney product.

00:18:56.000 I have three children.

00:18:57.000 They all know in canto.

00:18:59.000 The minute that Disney starts putting woke into its actual content, that is content I will not be consuming.

00:19:08.000 Okay, so they're playing a very dangerous game here.

00:19:11.000 They're siding with a bunch of left-wing radicals who, frankly, are not their chief market over the parent body at large.

00:19:18.000 And I would guarantee you that 90-95% of parents don't want their kindergartners indoctrinated in sexual values of any sort by the schools where their kids go.

00:19:26.000 Guaranteed.

00:19:28.000 But Disney, because they were suckered into doing this, they decided to speak out.

00:19:31.000 So Bob Chapek He was criticized for speaking out about, but not directly condemning, Florida's controversial Don't Say Gay Bill.

00:19:39.000 Again, that is how CNN characterizes it.

00:19:41.000 The Don't Say Gay Bill, because they're a propaganda outlet. 0.55

00:19:44.000 You can always tell who the propaganda outlets are.

00:19:46.000 On Wednesday, Chapek agreed with the criticism. 0.82

00:19:48.000 He said, I understand our original approach, no matter how well intended, didn't quite get the job done.

00:19:52.000 He said this during the company's annual shareholder meeting.

00:19:54.000 He took a stronger stance against the bill on Wednesday, telling shareholders he called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Wednesday morning to convey the company's disappointment and concern.

00:20:02.000 Chapek said if the legislation becomes law, it could, quote-unquote, be used to unfairly target gay, lesbian, non-binary, and transgender kids and families.

00:20:10.000 The governor heard our concerns and agreed to meet with me and LGBTQ plus members of our senior team in Florida to discuss ways to address them, said Chapek.

00:20:18.000 He added the outcome in Florida was not what many of us were hoping for, especially our LGBTQ plus employees.

00:20:23.000 And then he said he went on, he wanted to say Disney tried working behind the scenes to denounce the bill.

00:20:29.000 This drove a response from Governor DeSantis, which is exactly right.

00:20:33.000 His office says Governor DeSantis has always been open to hearing from Floridians and having conversations about legislation, as long as those discussions are grounded in fact, not false media narratives.

00:20:42.000 Anyone who has questions or concerns about the Parental Rights and Education Bill is encouraged to read the bill, rather than the distorted coverage in mainstream media, which regurgitates false partisan talking points.

00:20:51.000 Disney contacted our office today to speak with the governor.

00:20:53.000 This is the first time we have heard from Disney regarding HB 1557.

00:20:56.000 The governor did take the call from Mr. Chapek.

00:20:58.000 The governor's position has not changed.

00:21:00.000 No in-person meeting has been scheduled yet.

00:21:02.000 Disney is a family-friendly company that creates wholesome entertainment for kids.

00:21:05.000 The same Florida parents who take their families to Disney also support parental rights and education because they do not want their young children exposed to inappropriate content about sex and gender theory at school.

00:21:15.000 Correct.

00:21:16.000 So Disney is playing a very dangerous game pushed there by a media that repeats democratic lies and talking points for political purposes.

00:21:23.000 So if Disney wishes to embrace this, man, go for it.

00:21:26.000 Really, if you wish, you want to reap the whirlwind, come out against parents being able to teach their kids what they wish about sexual mores at young ages.

00:21:36.000 Seriously, do it, Disney.

00:21:37.000 Pull the trigger on that and see how it goes for you.

00:21:40.000 You're playing a suicidal game here.

00:21:42.000 Disney's, again, Disney's money comes from people like me.

00:21:47.000 Disney's money predominantly does not come from left-wing social activists on Twitter. 0.91

00:21:52.000 Or the morons who write for the Associated Press and term a bill that is not a don't-say-gay bill a don't-say-gay bill because they take their talking points directly from Jen Psaki and the White House. 0.67

00:23:19.000 That is ring.com forward slash Ben.

00:23:22.000 This White House is now attempting to blame the gas price increases over the course of Joe Biden's presidency on everything except for Joe Biden.

00:23:29.000 And they're actually attempting to blame oil and gas companies, which is quite incredible.

00:23:32.000 So Jen Psaki, yesterday, she came out and she said, well, the reason that oil and gas companies are charging high prices is because they're greedy and terrible.

00:23:41.000 And when she was asked about the fact that this administration has been extraordinarily unfriendly to the natural gas and oil industry, she responded by saying, well, they have, you know, they don't need permits.

00:23:50.000 We gave them their leases.

00:23:51.000 Isn't that enough?

00:23:53.000 Nearly 60% of leased acres remain non-producing.

00:23:56.000 That's a lot in the range of 20 million acres.

00:24:00.000 So there are 9,000 unused approved permits to drill in.

00:24:04.000 That should not require us inviting them to do that.

00:24:08.000 They should do that themselves.

00:24:10.000 But you said they can't get the additional permits.

00:24:12.000 So what additional permits do they need?

00:24:14.000 The leases are there.

00:24:15.000 The permits are there.

00:24:16.000 I don't think they need an embroidered invitation to drill.

00:24:20.000 They are oil companies.

00:24:22.000 Okay, that is a lie.

00:24:24.000 So, according to Katie Pavlich, she tweeted out the regulations from the Bureau of Land Management, the bureaucratic nightmare that has to be approved by the government.

00:24:32.000 She says, leases for drilling are not the same thing as permits.

00:24:35.000 You can have tons of leases.

00:24:36.000 The White House claims 9,000 and no permits.

00:24:38.000 Permits can take ages to get approved by the government, federal and local.

00:24:41.000 And it's true if you look at what the Bureau of Land Management has to say.

00:24:44.000 They say once a leaseholder, operator, or designated agent identifies an oil and gas deposit on a federal lease, they can file an application for permit to drill.

00:24:51.000 The Bureau of Land Management posts these APDs on its 30-day federal public posting report page.

00:24:57.000 The Bureau of Land Management governs the APD process.

00:24:59.000 The BLM cannot improve an APD until the operator meets the requirements of certain laws and regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Endangered Species Act.

00:25:08.000 Upon receiving an application for permit to drill, the Bureau of Land Management typically conducts an on-site inspection with surface or mineral estate.

00:25:14.000 It goes on like this for paragraphs.

00:25:17.000 Okay, so no.

00:25:19.000 All these places that want to drill are not being able to drill because they have slow walked all this stuff.

00:25:25.000 They are purposefully taking forever because that's part of the plan.

00:25:28.000 Joe Biden said it in 2019.

00:25:29.000 This is not a shock.

00:25:31.000 Here is Joe Biden circa 2019 overtly saying in the middle of a presidential race that there is no more drilling on federal lands under his presidency.

00:25:40.000 I've argued against any more oil drilling or gas drilling on federal lands, and to stop that.

00:25:49.000 Now, we could pass national legislation, but I don't think we'd get it done in terms of getting the votes to get it done to say all fracking that's going on now ends unless you can show there's some physical security need or worried about explosions, etc., which is a legitimate thing to worry about.

00:26:08.000 But I would not allow- Okay, so he was just saying it.

00:26:10.000 He was just saying it right out in 2019.

00:26:11.000 We're not going to do any more leases.

00:26:13.000 We're not interested in boosting the natural gas and oil industry.

00:26:17.000 This is during a climate town hall in 2019.

00:26:18.000 By the way, even the transformation of Joe Biden from 2019 when he wasn't all there to 2022 is astonishing.

00:26:24.000 He looks desiccated in 2019.

00:26:26.000 He looks not alive now.

00:26:28.000 He looks like something from Tales of the Crypt.

00:26:33.000 He's just, it's horrifying how decrepit the President of the United States is at this point.

00:26:38.000 By the way, literally yesterday, Joe Biden said, we are moving away from fossil fuels.

00:26:42.000 So just to get this straight, gas prices are seven bucks in some places in the United States.

00:26:47.000 Here's Joe Biden yesterday talking about how we're moving away from fossil fuels, which makes perfect sense.

00:26:51.000 If I went to the store and milk was $10 a gallon, and the President of the United States says, well, you know, we're trying to move you off of milk to rice milk.

00:27:00.000 That's our solution.

00:27:02.000 I might say, well, actually, I would just like the milk cheaper.

00:27:05.000 But here is Joe Biden pledging that he will keep the prices high because if you don't invest in the increased production of oil and natural gas, you're not going to get cheaper oil and natural gas.

00:27:16.000 As everything changes, there's a fundamental shift to the reality that we can't we can't keep the combustion engine the way it has been.

00:27:28.000 It's even, you see what's happening in locomotives now, you know, and you see what's happening just across the board.

00:27:35.000 And so, and I think it presents an enormous opportunity.

00:27:42.000 Okay, it's an enormous opportunity, guys.

00:27:43.000 High gas prices that are costing you your paycheck, that's an enormous opportunity, says the even more decrepit president of 2022.

00:27:50.000 Okay, just go back to last year, Jennifer Granholm, the energy secretary, She was saying the solution to all this is to drive an electric car.

00:27:57.000 After all, this is when gas prices were already high last year, because if you look at that chart we showed it to you yesterday, gas prices under Joe Biden look kind of like this.

00:28:04.000 They're rising, they're rising steadily, rising steadily, and then boom, they sort of pop in the last three weeks because of what's happening in Ukraine.

00:28:10.000 But that rising steadily means that when there was a cutoff in supply, the prices were going to skyrocket, which is exactly what happened.

00:28:17.000 When you prep the ground for a bad thing and the bad thing happens, that's what happens.

00:28:21.000 Here's Jennifer Granholm, Circa 2021, saying we are going to move away from gas-powered vehicles and toward electric cars.

00:28:28.000 We obviously are all in on making sure that we meet the president's goals of getting to 100% clean electricity by 2035 and net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

00:28:39.000 And, you know, if you drive an electric car, this would not be affecting you. 0.99

00:28:47.000 Well, you know, if you just spent that 60 grand on the Tesla, then this wouldn't... Elon Musk is more in touch with the people than these morons are. 0.99

00:28:55.000 I mean, literally, yes. 0.99

00:28:55.000 It's incredible. 0.99

00:28:57.000 And then fast forward to yesterday.

00:28:58.000 They haven't changed their message.

00:28:59.000 Here's Jennifer Granholm yesterday saying, well, you know, we're working on this energy transition.

00:29:04.000 Good luck with that.

00:29:06.000 For me, Putin's actions and the resolve of the Ukrainian people Give me even more determination to get this energy transition right.

00:29:21.000 Oh, so on behalf of the Ukrainians, we need to invest in solar panels and windmills. 0.96

00:29:28.000 Not nuclear energy.

00:29:28.000 Nuclear energy is bad.

00:29:29.000 Solar panels and windmills.

00:29:31.000 On behalf of the Ukrainians, I am sure that as the bombs fall in Mariupol, they are just thanking their lucky stars that Jennifer Granholm is trying to subsidize solar panels on your roof.

00:29:41.000 That was their highest priority.

00:29:43.000 And you can see what this administration's priorities are. 0.94

00:29:45.000 John Kerry, who is just a terrible human being. 0.93

00:29:49.000 John Kerry. 0.97

00:29:50.000 He was traveling yesterday.

00:29:52.000 And he explained that while Ukrainian refugees are having it hard, climate change is... Don't take your eye off the ball.

00:30:02.000 We don't need additional energy.

00:30:05.000 We need to worry about sea level rise in a hundred years.

00:30:10.000 There's Easter Island head John Kerry.

00:30:14.000 We're already seeing climate refugees around the world.

00:30:18.000 If you think migration has been a problem in Europe from the Syrian war, or even from what we see now, wait until you see 100 million people for whom the entire food production capacity has collapsed.

00:30:32.000 Okay, I mean, first of all, let's make the point that over the course of the next hundred years, the climate will change gradually.

00:30:38.000 What's happening in Ukraine right now is bombs are falling on cities and people are leaving immediately.

00:30:42.000 They always make it sound like the day after tomorrow.

00:30:44.000 Really, they always make climate change sound like it's going to happen immediately.

00:30:47.000 Like, snap of the fingers, tomorrow it's just going to be 10 degrees hotter, all the food's going to go away, and you're going to see migrants all over the world. 1.00

00:30:53.000 That is not how climate change operates, according to anyone, including the IPCC.

00:30:58.000 But they've got their priorities straight, guys.

00:31:00.000 Their priorities are not getting your gas prices lower by increasing production or making us independent of Russian oil or Venezuelan oil or Iranian oil.

00:31:06.000 Their priority is this green push.

00:31:09.000 And they're going to use the high gas prices right now as an artificial way of pushing green energy. 0.89

00:31:14.000 After all, these are the same idiots who suggested a global carbon tax rooted in the idea that if you artificially raise the price of gas, then people will be incentivized to use green energy. 0.95

00:31:23.000 There's only one problem, which is that you'd have to raise the price of gas so extraordinarily high that it would wreck your economy. 0.98

00:31:28.000 So if it happens by accident, hey look, we get to do what we wanted to do anyway.

00:31:31.000 Here was Nancy Pelosi yesterday talking about the importance of accomplishing environmental justice.

00:31:36.000 Again, we're seeing gas prices 7 bucks a gallon.

00:31:38.000 These people, they are just cruising for a 2022 bruising.

00:31:42.000 With this president, this Joe Biden, this president with justice, environmental justice, economic justice.

00:31:49.000 So much has been accomplished that some of the governors are complaining that they're getting some of their money while many of them are enjoying slush funds in all of this.

00:32:02.000 Unreal, unreal.

00:32:03.000 Okay so this administration, I do love this, this administration simultaneously is saying we need to move toward green energy and also they're saying you know what would be great is if they produced oil in Iran brokered by the Russians and maybe the Russians will even be given away out of their sanctions.

00:32:18.000 So simultaneously while we are telling American oil producing companies that we are not going to build Keystone XL or loosen up the permitting process, get rid of the red tape, we're not going to do any of that stuff.

00:32:26.000 We are, however, cutting a bunch of red tape so that Iran can get its money and develop nuclear weapons. 0.89

00:32:30.000 Yesterday, the Russian negotiator in Iran, he came out, Mikhail Ulyanov, and he said, you know what is going to be part of our deal?

00:32:38.000 Part of our deal with Iran, in order to broker it, is that we are going to be able to exempt all of our trade with Iran from any international sanctions, meaning Iran will be able to sell its oil on the world market.

00:32:47.000 In fact, it's wider by the score.

00:32:48.000 money to Iran, Iran will then give the money to us. Right.

00:32:51.000 So we will be able to trade with Iran, Iran will be able to trade with the world. And by the transit of property, you'll be paying us. Here is the here's the Russian negotiator.

00:32:57.000 In fact, it's wider by the score. We believe that all our trade and economic relations with Iran should be exempt from. 0.99

00:33:07.000 It's difficult to understand what he's saying. What he is saying is that all of the trade between Russia and Iran should be exempted from international sanctions. And Jennifer Her grand home, our energy secretary, she's like, yeah, sure, maybe Iran will sell its Sure, maybe Iran will sell its oil.

00:33:20.000 So, just to get this straight, no producing oil in America.

00:33:23.000 Let's get it from Venezuela and Iran. 0.92

00:33:26.000 These people.

00:33:27.000 But don't worry, the gas price spike, all of the increase in gas prices that's been happening over the course of the last year and a half, that's purely due to Vladimir Putin.

00:33:35.000 Here is Jennifer Granholm exempting Iranian oil from her consternation over natural gas and oil.

00:33:40.000 Is it your expectation that the Iranian barrels do come back online if there is a deal here?

00:33:46.000 The reason for the deal is a denuclearized Iran. 0.58

00:33:51.000 That's the reason for the deal.

00:33:52.000 If there is a byproduct of increased supply, so be it.

00:33:55.000 But the deal is all about making sure the world is safer because Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon.

00:34:02.000 Okay, that is not what the deal is about at all.

00:34:04.000 And she's like, yeah, sure, Iranian oil and gas might hit the free market.

00:34:07.000 Maybe we'll buy some of that.

00:34:08.000 These folks.

00:34:11.000 Okay, so, all of this is obviously creating some pretty massive inflation, right?

00:34:16.000 All of this is creating massive gas price spikes.

00:34:19.000 And we all know this.

00:34:21.000 So, the White House started trotting out this phrase over the past 48 hours.

00:34:24.000 Putin's price hike.

00:34:24.000 You saw Sacky use it.

00:34:27.000 You saw Biden use it.

00:34:28.000 It's Putin's price hike.

00:34:29.000 It's not us.

00:34:30.000 It's Putin.

00:34:30.000 Right?

00:34:31.000 There's not much I can do about it because it's Vladimir Putin.

00:34:35.000 Okay, well, so the good news is they have stenographers in the media.

00:34:37.000 So the same way that if Joe Biden says, drones my car, the entire media immediately says, that's what we'll call that bill.

00:34:43.000 And let's say it over and over.

00:34:45.000 Now you have Joe Biden saying, it's Putin's price hike-a-do.

00:34:49.000 And the entire media snaps to attention.

00:34:51.000 ABC News headline yesterday, Putin's price hike, and they put it in quotes, will be borne by American consumers.

00:34:57.000 So the scare quote is the new way that the media just laundered Democratic talking points into their headlines.

00:35:02.000 If they put it in quotes, that means they didn't say it.

00:35:04.000 Somebody else said it, but it's the only thing you're reading.

00:35:06.000 It doesn't say Biden says Putin's price hike will be borne by American consumers.

00:35:09.000 It just says Putin's price hike.

00:35:12.000 Putin's price hike will be borne by American consumers.

00:35:14.000 Amazing, amazing stuff.

00:35:15.000 They'll just, they will repeat whatever the White House tells them to repeat.

00:35:20.000 The inflation statistics, by the way, popped today.

00:35:23.000 Plus .8% on headline inflation in February.

00:35:26.000 Almost 8% year over year.

00:35:27.000 So that inflation continues to escalate.

00:35:31.000 Solid stuff there.

00:35:32.000 The Commerce Secretary, Gina Raimondo, she came out yesterday and she said, yeah, inflation is very real.

00:35:36.000 Here she was yesterday. 0.99

00:35:39.000 You are right.

00:35:39.000 You know, inflation is real.

00:35:41.000 And it's, you know, many Americans are obviously seeing that in their daily lives at the pump or the grocery store.

00:35:48.000 President Biden has directed us in his cabinet to go industry by industry and figure out everything we can do to increase supply of goods to bring down costs.

00:36:00.000 Okay, and so the media, the good news is that they will just pick up whatever the Democratic talking points are.

00:36:05.000 As always, the theme of today's show, legacy media will say whatever Democrats want them to say.

00:36:09.000 So here is CBS Evening News yesterday saying that inflation is not in fact created by the inflationary, monetary, and fiscal policies of this administration.

00:36:16.000 The inflation is not created by the foreign policy crises bred by this administration.

00:36:21.000 Inflation is all about corporate greed, which is the Democratic talking point.

00:36:24.000 Here is CBS Evening News just doing stenography for Nancy Pelosi and Company.

00:36:28.000 The biggest food price hikes are in meats, with pork and beef up 14 to 20 percent from a year ago.

00:36:35.000 Food companies and some economists say pandemic disruptions, inflation, and high demand are to blame.

00:36:42.000 But others question whether there's more at play.

00:36:45.000 Ricardo Salvador is with the Union of Concerned Scientists, a non-profit advocacy group.

00:36:50.000 You're seeing just orders of magnitude greater profit that are not justified by the actual rate of inflation or their increased cost.

00:36:59.000 So they're just running full-scale reports on how it's corporate greed that's causing all of this.

00:37:02.000 Whatever is the talking point Democrats need, that is what the legacy media bring to the table.

00:37:06.000 Okay, in just one second, we'll get to the latest in Ukraine, where the Biden administration is... I am astonished at how deep the blade of the Biden administration went between the shoulder blades of Ukraine yesterday.

00:37:17.000 It is amazing.

00:37:19.000 The Biden administration supposedly unified the world in support of Ukraine and then just shoved a knife directly between the shoulder blades of Ukraine.

00:37:25.000 It's pretty astonishing.

00:37:25.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.

00:37:27.000 The economic situation in the United States is complete chaos right now.

00:37:30.000 You know that the Fed is talking about raising those interest rates and raising them pretty dramatically, which means that if you are looking to refire your house, you need to do it right now.

00:37:37.000 Not later, not a month from now, not two months from now.

00:37:40.000 Right now, as you listen to this, pause whatever you're doing, and you need to contact my friends over at American Financing.

00:37:45.000 Whether it's your mortgage or credit cards or really anything with a rate tied to it, you are in jeopardy of paying more for money borrowed and money spent.

00:37:52.000 Make now the time to call American Finance and get that free mortgage review I've been telling you about.

00:40:40.000 The look of the film is unlike anything I've ever seen.

00:42:17.000 So meanwhile, the situation in Ukraine continues to get worse and worse.

00:42:26.000 Ukraine is now accusing Russia of genocide after the bombing of a children's hospital.

00:42:30.000 The footage coming out of Mariupol is absolutely stunning.

00:42:34.000 Ukraine's president accused Russia of carrying out genocide after officials said Russian aircraft bombed a children's hospital on Wednesday, burying patients in rubble despite a ceasefire deal for people to flee the besieged city of Mariupol.

00:42:44.000 Putin is ratcheting up the military moves and the attacks on civilians in order to put pressure on Ukraine to come to the table and give him a lot of concession.

00:42:54.000 Because what Putin is realizing is that he has, in fact, been able to crack that Western show of support for Ukraine to a certain extent, which will provide him an opening to make some gains that will allow him to end this war with some sense of having won something, despite the fact that it was a botched attempt.

00:43:12.000 The current casualty statistics from Russia are really, really bad.

00:43:15.000 We're talking about like thousands of troops, somewhere between four and six thousand Russian troops probably dead inside the last couple of weeks, which is a massive loss for the Russian military.

00:43:23.000 But if they're able to cudgel Ukraine into, for example, giving away the Donbass region, acknowledging the loss of Crimea, Formally stating that we'll never attempt to join NATO or the EU, then you might see Putin sort of get what he wants because and also have demonstrated to border nations, nations that are bordering NATO, that unless they are members of NATO, that the Western alliance has no interest in protecting them.

00:43:45.000 And so they better make some overtures toward Russia.

00:43:46.000 This would be directed at places like Moldova.

00:43:49.000 You could also see Putin making a gain in terms of being able to show even sort of border NATO nations, the politics, that they better take a more pro-Russian stance because if they don't, then he might invade and then actually attempt to break NATO outright.

00:44:01.000 Vladimir Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, yesterday he took a look at the devastation.

00:44:05.000 He said, the humanity is being lost.

00:44:07.000 You guys need to help us some more.

00:44:09.000 He tweeted out, Mariupol direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital.

00:44:12.000 People, children under the wreckage.

00:44:14.000 Atrocity.

00:44:14.000 How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror?

00:44:17.000 Close the sky right now.

00:44:18.000 Stop the killings.

00:44:19.000 You have power, but you seem to be losing humanity.

00:44:23.000 And he's calling for a no-fly zone.

00:44:24.000 Nobody in the West is interested in a no-fly zone at this point.

00:44:29.000 The problem is that the West isn't even interested in providing the baseline level of support necessary for Ukraine to continue fending off the Russian military power.

00:44:37.000 Despite the fact that the West is fully acknowledging the human rights violations of the Russian forces at this point.

00:44:44.000 So, for example, the Pentagon acknowledged yesterday that Russia had used dumb bombs Those dumb bombs would be non-targeted ordnance that hit civilians.

00:44:56.000 Apparently, there was talk that they were using thermobaric weapons, which have extraordinarily high danger to civilians.

00:45:02.000 These are weapons that are non-indiscriminate in their killing capacity.

00:45:08.000 We're used to seeing the United States fight wars, or the UK fight wars, or Israel fight, or NATO fight wars.

00:45:12.000 All of these first world countries, when they fight wars, they're extraordinarily targeted in how they go about hitting the bad guys.

00:45:17.000 That is not the case with the Russians.

00:45:20.000 So Jen Psaki yesterday, she even suggested that Russia was setting up a pretext to use chemical weapons, is what Jen Psaki said, according to the Wall Street Journal.

00:45:28.000 White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki lashed out at Russian claims the U.S.

00:45:30.000 was developing chemical weapons in Ukraine, warning it was actually a pretext for Moscow to use such weapons itself.

00:45:36.000 A senior NATO official said there are serious concerns Russia is setting the stage to use chemical weapons in the war-torn country.

00:45:42.000 And why not?

00:45:43.000 Bashar Assad got away with it in Syria, when the Obama administration just handed control of the country over to the Russians.

00:45:49.000 Saki wrote in a series of tweets late on Wednesday, it's the kind of disinformation operation we've seen repeatedly from the Russians over the years in Ukraine and in other countries.

00:45:56.000 They've been debunked, an example of the type of false pretext we've been warning the Russians would invent. 0.98

00:46:01.000 She also accused China of parroting Russia's claims and said, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine or to create a false flag operation using them.

00:46:10.000 It is a clear pattern.

00:46:12.000 A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington alleged the U.S.

00:46:15.000 has 26 biolabs and other related facilities in Ukraine.

00:46:19.000 According to State Department spokesman Ned Price, he said there are no U.S.

00:46:21.000 chemical or biological weapons labs in Ukraine.

00:46:23.000 Apparently the real story is that there has been an attempt by the West to shut down or convert over old Soviet biolabs in Ukraine for the past couple of decades.

00:46:34.000 Kamala Harris just came out and she embraced a call for a war crimes probe in Russia, but here is the problem.

00:46:38.000 It's all a split message.

00:46:39.000 It is all a split message.

00:46:40.000 So Kamala Harris, who's terrible at this, she went over to Poland where she was speaking alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Warsaw.

00:46:50.000 Harris expressed outrage over the bombing on Wednesday.

00:46:52.000 She said, absolutely there should be investigation.

00:46:54.000 We should all be watching.

00:46:55.000 Duda said, it's obvious to us in Ukraine, Russians are committing war crimes. 0.94

00:46:58.000 He added that in his view, the invasion was bearing the features of a genocide.

00:47:02.000 It aims at eliminating and destroying a nation.

00:47:04.000 And then Harris said, I've been watching or reading about the work of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

00:47:08.000 And so I bring you thanks from the American people speaking only in truisms.

00:47:11.000 Because she's just a truism pull string doll. 1.00

00:47:14.000 You just pull a string on the back of Kamala Harris.

00:47:16.000 And she says things like, It's been extraordinary reading about the work of extraordinary people.

00:47:22.000 And then she smiles creepily into the camera.

00:47:24.000 Okay, but here is the thing.

00:47:26.000 We keep ramping up the rhetoric with regard to Russian human rights violations.

00:47:31.000 And then when it comes time to actually provide the support that the Ukrainians need, we're not there to give it. 0.74

00:47:35.000 That doesn't mean we should give them all the support they're asking for.

00:47:37.000 Nobody's calling for a no-fly zone.

00:47:38.000 But even stuff that we have already approved, we're now backtracking.

00:47:41.000 So this is the big Ukraine story of the day.

00:47:44.000 You'll recall that just a little while ago, just a little while ago, the United States basically said that we would allow NATO to send warplanes into Ukraine so that the Ukrainians could fly them against the Russian MiGs.

00:47:57.000 In fact, Nancy Pelosi came out yesterday and she said, Vladimir Zelensky, he keeps asking us for planes, he wants planes.

00:48:02.000 There was Nancy Pelosi yesterday. 0.97

00:48:05.000 She said, quote, he wants the planes, the planes, the planes.

00:48:09.000 You know that.

00:48:10.000 Well, on Sunday, you'll recall that the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, stated clearly that the United States had given a green light to NATO countries to provide planes to the Ukrainians.

00:48:20.000 Here is Antony Blinken on Sunday.

00:48:23.000 Okay, I will just remind you that today is Thursday, so it has not been very long at all.

00:48:27.000 Here is Antony Blinken saying, yeah, you know what?

00:48:29.000 I think it's a good idea to get those planes into Ukraine.

00:48:32.000 If, for instance, the Polish government, a NATO member, wants to send fighter jets, does that get a green light from the U.S., or are you afraid that that will escalate tension?

00:48:42.000 No, that gets a green light.

00:48:44.000 In fact, we're talking with our Polish friends right now about what we might be able to do to backfill their needs if, in fact, they choose to provide these fighter jets to the Ukrainians.

00:48:57.000 So we're talking about backfilling it, we're working with the Poles, all that stuff. 1.00

00:49:00.000 Okay, so then, Poland comes out, and they make a public announcement, because they obviously weren't getting cooperation from the Americans.

00:49:05.000 And what they said is, we would like to use the American airbase, the NATO airbase, I should say, in Germany, in order to ship those planes into Ukraine.

00:49:15.000 Now the reason that they want to do this is because what the Poles are afraid of is that if they ship directly into Ukraine, then the MiGs The Russian MIGs will start shooting down Polish pilots in those planes.

00:49:27.000 Or they'll use this as an excuse to attack Poland.

00:49:30.000 Whereas if it is shipped in from Ramstein Air Base in Germany, if it is shipped in from there, then the Russians will be dissuaded from making a direct attack on Germany. 0.72

00:49:43.000 Because they'll know that then we'll eviscerate them. 0.64

00:49:45.000 So what the Poles are really saying here is we don't trust you as far as we can throw you. 0.91

00:49:49.000 You're saying, yeah, go ahead and do it yourself.

00:49:50.000 But we've noticed that every time you say this to a country, go ahead and do it yourself. 0.82

00:49:53.000 We'll have your back.

00:49:53.000 The minute we turn around, you're gone.

00:49:55.000 Whether it is your Afghan allies, whether it is the people of Hong Kong, or whether it is the Ukrainians in Crimea, or in the Donbass region.

00:50:03.000 Every time you keep saying that you'll have people's back, we turn around and you are gone.

00:50:07.000 Like Batman, you're just missing.

00:50:09.000 So how about this?

00:50:10.000 How about you are our open accomplice in sending these planes to Ukraine?

00:50:13.000 And that way you have skin in the game.

00:50:16.000 We're not going to send it direct from Poland because we believe that if they start shooting down Polish pilots and this brings Poland into direct conflict with Russia, you guys will be standing off to the side being like, well, you know, I mean, we said you could do it, but we didn't say that we were going to help or anything.

00:50:28.000 And even if we did say we're going to help, we're really not going to do anything right now.

00:50:31.000 So.

00:50:32.000 The polls announced that they want to do this with the help of the United States.

00:50:35.000 And the United States, five days after saying publicly via the Secretary of State on national television that they would green light the shipment of jets into Ukraine, they're like, nah, we're not going to do that.

00:50:45.000 We know, you know, we got to stop this.

00:50:46.000 It's too high risk.

00:50:47.000 So yesterday, John Kirby at the Pentagon, he said, no, we can't do this.

00:50:51.000 We can't do this.

00:50:51.000 I'm sorry.

00:50:52.000 We're too afraid that we're too afraid of the Russians. 0.95

00:50:54.000 Now, let's be clear about something.

00:50:56.000 There is a very large difference between the United States setting up a no-fly zone in Ukraine, which would involve us basically saying we control all the skies above Ukraine and we are going to shoot down anything we don't like above the skies of Ukraine.

00:51:08.000 That's what a no-fly zone is.

00:51:10.000 There's a large difference between that and allowing the Russians to establish a no-fly zone in Ukraine.

00:51:16.000 Which is what we are now allowing them to do.

00:51:17.000 We are now allowing them to, without any sort of resistance, take over the skies in Ukraine by refusing to ship in the military armaments necessary to shoot down Russian jets by the Ukrainians. 0.82

00:51:31.000 So we're now saying we're going to allow Vladimir Putin to get away with his threat.

00:51:35.000 So Vladimir Putin is saying, well, you know what?

00:51:36.000 If you guys even, if you even ship in jets, you take this as act of war.

00:51:41.000 And instead of us saying, okay, fine.

00:51:43.000 All right.

00:51:44.000 Do it.

00:51:45.000 Because we didn't set up a no-fly zone.

00:51:46.000 We're not shooting down your jets.

00:51:48.000 We're just rearming the people you're invading.

00:51:51.000 And pretty obviously, we've been shipping all sorts of weaponry, including Javelin missiles, into Ukraine at this point.

00:51:56.000 So this is just a broader expansion of that.

00:51:59.000 A deeper expansion of that.

00:52:00.000 And by the way, we already said we would do it earlier this week.

00:52:03.000 It would be one thing if they never said they would do it.

00:52:04.000 They already said they were going to do it.

00:52:05.000 And then they backed off of it.

00:52:06.000 Here's John Kirby backing off of it.

00:52:09.000 The intelligence community has assessed that the transfer of MiG-29s to Ukraine may be mistaken as escalatory and could result in a significant Russian reaction that might increase the prospects of a military escalation with NATO.

00:52:22.000 Therefore, we also assess the transfer of the MiG-29s to Ukraine to be high risk.

00:52:30.000 So any transfer, now announcing any transfer of MiG-29s to Ukraine would be high risk. 0.97

00:52:34.000 So basically you suckers, you're on your own. 0.96

00:52:37.000 Which is an amazing statement. 0.99

00:52:38.000 By the way, notice the language there.

00:52:40.000 It could be mistaken by Russia to be escalatory, therefore we won't do it.

00:52:45.000 If you're Vladimir Putin, you're just laughing into your sleeve right now at how weak the West is.

00:52:49.000 Seriously.

00:52:50.000 Because we're not talking about even going to wreck conflict with Vladimir Putin.

00:52:55.000 But again, we've been shipping all sorts of weapons into Ukraine.

00:52:58.000 And we just said that we would OK the shipment of jets into Ukraine.

00:53:02.000 So, I mean, couldn't that have been seen as escalatory by Vladimir Putin?

00:53:07.000 And yet NATO is so all fire feared of anything happening that has NATO's fingerprints on it.

00:53:14.000 That they're not even going to do this.

00:53:16.000 It's really amazing.

00:53:17.000 So if you're in Ukraine right now, you know there's only so far the West is willing to go.

00:53:20.000 They won't set up a no-fly zone.

00:53:21.000 They won't even give you the armaments necessary to prevent Russia from setting up a no-fly zone.

00:53:25.000 Once Russia has total air superiority, which everybody assumed was going to happen inside the first 48 hours, but the Russian Air Force just has not done its job.

00:53:32.000 But if you give them an inordinate amount of time, they will do the job.

00:53:35.000 The only thing that prevents that from happening is some sort of air force boost to the Ukrainians, obviously. 0.92

00:53:43.000 In a separate statement, General Todd Wolters, head of the U.S.

00:53:46.000 European Command, labeled the prospect of sending additional jets to Ukraine, quote, high risk and low gain.

00:53:51.000 I mean, this is amazing stuff.

00:53:56.000 According to the Pentagon, the Pentagon quashed a Polish proposal to put its Soviet-origin MiG-29s in Germany to be used by the United States in aiding the Ukrainian war effort.

00:54:04.000 By the way, we are shipping in like old planes to Ukraine to not be escalatory.

00:54:08.000 That was going to be the idea.

00:54:09.000 We're shipping in Soviet-era MiG-29s, so Russian planes to fight Russian planes.

00:54:13.000 We're not shipping them F-22s.

00:54:15.000 Even that was seen as too much of a provocation by us.

00:54:20.000 Kirby said there was no desire to see them in our custody.

00:54:23.000 We didn't even want them in our custody.

00:54:25.000 The transfer of MiG-29s would not appreciably increase the effectiveness of Ukraine's air force, according to Wolters.

00:54:29.000 Weird, because that's... I assume the Ukrainians are asking for it for a reason. 1.00

00:54:33.000 The United States has already shipped Ukraine a number of Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and Javelin anti-tank missiles alongside shotguns and other materials useful for fighting in urban areas, the Washington Post first reported last week.

00:54:45.000 A senior U.S.

00:54:46.000 defense official speaking on the condition of anonymity under ground rules established by the Pentagon said earlier Wednesday that Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, and Mykolaiv, a possible staging ground to attack Odessa, appeared particularly vulnerable.

00:54:59.000 So, again, we approved it, and then we backed off of it because Vladimir Putin batted his eyelids at us.

00:55:05.000 That's amazing. 0.98

00:55:06.000 The Wall Street Journal editorial board points out how pathetic this is. 0.98

00:55:11.000 They say, untenable how?

00:55:13.000 After a NATO no-fly zone, which the alliance has refused, the MiGs are Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's top request. 0.66

00:55:18.000 The jets won't decide the war, but its generals must think they'd help, if only to deny Russia control of the skies.

00:55:23.000 Any Russian artillery batteries or jets taken off the battlefield could save Ukrainian lives.

00:55:26.000 What happened between Blinken's endorsement and the Pentagon's rejection?

00:55:29.000 It's hard not to conclude the White House blinked for fear of provoking Putin.

00:55:32.000 I mean, they're not to conclude.

00:55:34.000 They said it.

00:55:34.000 They just said it straight out.

00:55:36.000 NATO countries are already sending all sorts of weapons into Ukraine.

00:55:39.000 Is a Polish MiG with a Ukrainian pilot somehow more provocative than a Turkish drone or an American anti-tank missile? 0.77

00:55:44.000 Transferring planes isn't the same as NATO aviators directly shooting down Russian jets.

00:55:49.000 Mr. Putin calls anything beyond Western acquiescence and Ukraine's surrender a provocation.

00:55:53.000 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg felt obliged to warn Mr. Putin on Tuesday a Russian attack on supply lines in Alliance territory would trigger a collective response.

00:56:02.000 He said we're removing any room for miscalculation, misunderstanding about our commitment to defend every inch of NATO territory.

00:56:07.000 Poland doesn't want the transfer of planes directly to Ukraine from its territory to be perceived as a unilateral provocation.

00:56:13.000 Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morecki said on Wednesday the decision must be unanimous and unequivocally taken by all of NATO.

00:56:20.000 Again, they're saying we don't want to be left here holding the bag.

00:56:22.000 And U.S.

00:56:23.000 Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin then nixed the MiG transfer to Ukraine.

00:56:26.000 I mean, we do have higher priorities, like taking Navy ships offline because the captain hasn't been COVID vaxxed.

00:56:31.000 That is a thing that's actually happening right now.

00:56:34.000 There is risk of escalation in any war, says the Wall Street Journal.

00:56:36.000 Needless provocations should be avoided.

00:56:38.000 But the risk of giving Putin a veto over NATO actions is that it undermines the credibility of deterrence.

00:56:42.000 Well, yes, that is obviously true.

00:56:46.000 And by the way, it is worth noting here that as this war goes on, a few things are happening.

00:56:53.000 Our allies in the Baltics, our allies who are not formally defended by us by treaty, they're becoming more and more wary.

00:57:00.000 They're starting to draw a middle course between the Western Bloc, meaning the United States and Western Europe, and China, Russia, Iran.

00:57:09.000 And China is strengthening its position dramatically in all of this.

00:57:12.000 And China is buying up Russian assets at bargain basement prices, knowing that in the end, probably there is some sort of negotiated settlement where a lot of these sanctions are removed.

00:57:21.000 China is going to continue to solidify its relations with the Russians.

00:57:24.000 Meanwhile, playing the West by pretending that they are somehow anti the Russians, the Russian invasion.

00:57:30.000 If they just keep silent, the West will leave them alone.

00:57:33.000 Meanwhile, they will arm up for the possibility of taking over Taiwan when they feel the time is right. 0.94

00:57:38.000 Good piece in the Wall Street Journal today by Seth Cropsey, who is a founder and president of Yorktown Institute, served as a naval officer and deputy undersecretary of the Navy.

00:57:48.000 He makes a good point.

00:57:49.000 He says, That the external economic dependence of the Soviet Chinese bloc is inevitable.

00:57:57.000 That bloc is naturally brittle.

00:58:01.000 The Communist Party has to have absolute dominance.

00:58:03.000 Assuming Russia's collapse is not imminent, China will use Russia's increasing isolation to transform Moscow into a petrochemical satellite, taking advantage of Western sanctions to secure Russian energy flows indefinitely. 0.80

00:58:13.000 In turn, China hopes that Russia, humbled or emboldened by its Ukraine adventure, with or without Putin at the helm, will occupy Western attention as Beijing gobbles up the choices Pacific possessions and extends its economic and diplomatic tendrils into the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe.

00:58:25.000 Far from accepting independent Russian action, China is counting on Russian failure to accelerate the satisfaction of its boundless appetite.

00:58:31.000 So China wins either way.

00:58:32.000 Either Russia gets away with what it's doing here, and China enriches itself by drawing closer to Russia, or Russia loses, in which case China buys up all of the assets.

00:58:41.000 All of this could have been prevented by a strong West. 0.95

00:58:43.000 But the West keeps not learning the lesson.

00:58:45.000 They keep demonstrating no strength on the world stage.

00:58:48.000 They keep demonstrating that a backwater, second-rate dictatorship with nuclear weapons can blackmail the entire Western world into not sending MiGs over the border with Ukrainian pilots in them. 0.97

00:59:01.000 That's an incredible statement.

00:59:02.000 And if you think China's not taking notice, they're definitely taking notice.

00:59:05.000 Because, you know, we don't have a formal defense treaty with Taiwan.

00:59:08.000 We do not.

00:59:10.000 And so China is looking at Ukraine, and they're figuring, okay, what's the worst that happens here?

00:59:13.000 They rearm? 0.95

00:59:13.000 Fine. 0.95

00:59:14.000 We have a billion and a half people who live here.

00:59:16.000 Okay.

00:59:18.000 All right.

00:59:18.000 Like, what you gonna do?

00:59:20.000 And those economic sanctions?

00:59:21.000 You know, you guys are the ones who have always said that you have a policy of strategic ambiguity about Taiwan, so we really don't see the problem.

00:59:27.000 You've always said that Taiwan could, may be part of China.

00:59:31.000 You refuse to label Taiwan independent territory.

00:59:33.000 Again, Western pusillanimity in the face of aggressive and concerted action over long periods of time means the West loses.

00:59:41.000 One of the big problems with foreign policy in the West is that all foreign policy horizons in the West are about the length of a presidential administration.

00:59:47.000 Foreign policy horizons for dictators are decades long because they know they'll be in power 10, 15, 20 years from now.

00:59:52.000 What that means is that you have to have actual real moral backbone in the West in order to stand up for any length of time against the predatory countries on the world stage.

01:00:01.000 The West doesn't have it.

01:00:02.000 And so we are easily split.

01:00:03.000 We are easily manipulated.

01:00:05.000 And the likely outcome of what's going to happen in Ukraine is Putin will at least get most of what he wants, I think.

01:00:09.000 I think in the end Putin will get most of what he wants.

01:00:11.000 Because if you're Zelensky, and you've seen that the West will provide you just enough weaponry to stave off a full-scale Russian takeover, but not enough weaponry to stop the killing fields in your own country. 0.90

01:00:21.000 You might start cutting that middle line and a lot of other countries are going to take notice.
