Summary

Joe Biden is in serious trouble, and it's not just because Jimmy Kimmel is making fun of him. And Chris Matthews is back from exile, and he has a theory about why Joe Biden should run against Donald Trump in the 2020 Democratic primary. Also, Rudy Giuliani is back in the fold, and the question is, who's ready to replace Donald Trump on the ticket? Is it Rudy Giuliani? Or is there anyone else who's better than Trump at this point in the primary race? And who's more likely to win in 2020 than Joe Biden? And what s going to happen if Joe Biden doesn't run for president in 2020? And why is Chris Matthews the only one who can explain why he thinks Donald Trump should be the next president of the United States, and why it's a good thing he's not running against Joe Biden in 2020. And what would happen if Donald Trump were the Democratic candidate in 2020, and Joe Biden was the Republican candidate in 2016, and Chris Matthews was the only guy who could beat Donald Trump? And is it possible that someone else is ready to run against Trump? or is it not ready to do it? . . . well, guess what, it s not even close to being ready to be president? ? at least he s not a bad presidential candidate. and he s running against someone who s better than Donald Trump, and that s good enough to beat him . right? or in 2020 maybe not good enough to beat Trump in 2020 and better than anyone else but not good enough for the 2020 election, right so what s the answer to Donald Trump is who s ready to win the 2020 presidential election , right? I lllllllll I ll tell you what I think about that, and I ll let you know who I think is the answer, and you ll llll ll ll be the one that s gonna be the best candidate to replace him. I mean, I ll give you the answer you need to vote for him in 2020! on this episode of the 2020 primary, right here the one who s got it of course that s ready for it, right? And I ll talk about it, and we ll talk it in this episode, and much more with my thoughts on that (and much more!

Transcript

00:00:00.000 Well, yesterday was a very important day in the 2024 race.
00:00:03.000 So Joe Biden is still really ailing.
00:00:05.000 According to the Washington Post, Joe Biden is currently holding private meetings at the White House to reassure his supporters because his poll numbers look so bad.
00:00:13.000 Says the Washington Post, President Biden has been holding private lunches at the White House with top donors and other supporters as part of an effort to reassure them about his re-election campaign, including concerns about his age and his energy.
00:00:23.000 According to three people familiar with those meetings, he's held a half dozen meetings in groups ranging from four to eight people since he launched his campaign in April.
00:00:31.000 But a bunch happened right before the holidays.
00:00:33.000 There are a lot of people who are very much worried about Joe Biden's reelect efforts.
00:00:37.000 A lot of these meetings are being organized by Jeffrey Katzenberg, Movie Mogul, again, Hollywood and the Democratic Party, one and the same.
00:00:44.000 The meetings, of course, are coming because a lot of people are worried that Joe Biden is going to lose.
00:00:48.000 That includes Barack Obama, that includes Michelle Obama, that includes pretty much everyone.
00:00:53.000 And you know things are going poorly when even Jimmy Kimmel is mocking you.
00:00:57.000 So there was a hands-off policy with regard to Barack Obama in the comedy world for literally years.
00:01:02.000 You could not make jokes about Barack Obama because he was the holy one, blessed be he.
00:01:06.000 But when it comes to actually Joe Biden, even Democrats are looking at Joe Biden and realizing this is A man with encroaching senility problems, a person not in control of his own administration.
00:01:18.000 When Jimmy Kimmel is making fun of you in a reelect year, that's a problem.
00:01:21.000 If you're a Democrat, here was Jimmy Kimmel doing just that last night.
00:01:24.000 Age is definitely an issue for Joe Biden.
00:01:26.000 He is in desperate need of support from young voters.
00:01:29.000 And Grant POTUS is now pulling out all the bells and whistles to try to win them back.
00:01:34.000 My fellow Americans, we're facing an inflection point in history.
00:01:38.000 Now, more than ever, we need young hustlers like you.
00:01:43.000 I mean it, fam.
00:01:44.000 No cap.
00:01:46.000 I'm God.
00:01:47.000 I'm being deadass here, man.
00:01:51.000 Another Trump presidency won't slap.
00:01:54.000 I know he has riz, but he's giving dictator.
00:01:57.000 He's fascism coded.
00:01:59.000 I get it.
00:02:00.000 You think I'm mid or cringe.
00:02:04.000 Democracy is a baddie, and America is mother.
00:02:10.000 I'm Joe Biden, and I have no idea what the hell I just said.
00:02:18.000 Right, the disconnect between Biden and his own people is extraordinary right now.
00:02:23.000 And Democrats know this, which is why, again, even in the fake ad, it's all about Trump.
00:02:27.000 And well, Chris Matthews, back from exile.
00:02:30.000 Used to be on Hardball, MSNBC.
00:02:32.000 He's back on MSNBC.
00:02:32.000 It's an election year.
00:02:34.000 Rolled out of bed all rumpum.
00:02:35.000 Looking like he's coming to the show.
00:02:37.000 He's explaining why Donald Trump can't be president of the United States.
00:02:41.000 The only thing he can say if you're a Democrat at this point is, Chris Matthews, go!
00:02:45.000 You know, I think it's really important that the conservatives out there, when you defend Donald Trump, you're defending what happened on January 6th.
00:02:53.000 You're defending why he sat there in that little office next to his Oval Office.
00:02:56.000 He sat there doing nothing, according to Cassidy Hutchinson and the rest.
00:03:00.000 They're all talking now, and more are going to talk in court.
00:03:04.000 Here's a guy who did nothing.
00:03:07.000 It's all January 6th.
00:03:08.000 It's all Trump.
00:03:09.000 The entire Democratic campaign relies on Trump.
00:03:12.000 And so we have this sort of weird situation in which if the Democrats swapped out Joe Biden for anyone else, they would be in much better shape.
00:03:20.000 Meanwhile, if the Republicans, by polling data, swapped out Donald Trump for anyone else, they too would be in much better polling shape.
00:03:27.000 That is the weird irony of the situation in which we find ourselves.
00:03:30.000 Both parties are fully convinced That there is no way they can lose to that guy.
00:03:34.000 Democrats are like, there is no way we can lose to Donald Trump.
00:03:37.000 So let's run the old guy.
00:03:38.000 After all, he's non-controversial.
00:03:40.000 He's not going to rip open all the intersectional gaps in our party.
00:03:44.000 And meanwhile, Republicans are like, there's no way we can lose to that guy.
00:03:46.000 So we may as well have the guy who makes us feel really good in Donald Trump.
00:03:50.000 On the right side of the aisle, the big question is, is there anyone who's ready to replace Donald Trump on the ticket?
00:03:56.000 Now, by polling data, the answer is clearly no.
00:03:58.000 I mean, if you look at the national polling data in the national primaries right now, which again, those are not dispositive.
00:04:03.000 At one point, Rudy Giuliani was the big clubhouse leader in 2008, like fairly close to the actual primaries.
00:04:08.000 But we are now less than one week away from the Iowa caucuses.
00:04:12.000 And in the national polling average, Donald Trump has a 50 point lead on the rest of the field.
00:04:17.000 In Iowa, the polling suggests that Trump also has a massive lead.
00:04:20.000 Every single poll has Trump up by at least 30 points in Iowa.
00:04:23.000 That is a very, very large gap.
00:04:26.000 New Hampshire, a little bit different.
00:04:27.000 New Hampshire, you're starting to see Trump lose some momentum in New Hampshire.
00:04:31.000 He still has a lead.
00:04:32.000 But that lead is not much more than the combined force of, say, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie.
00:04:37.000 Nikki Haley is running a somewhat close second.
00:04:40.000 I say somewhat close because most polls have her somewhere between 10 and 20 points behind Trump in New Hampshire.
00:04:45.000 But all those polls also have Chris Christie in the race.
00:04:48.000 And Chris Christie is drawing a consistent 12% in the New Hampshire polling.
00:04:52.000 So you can certainly see a situation in which Donald Trump wins Iowa.
00:04:56.000 Say Nikki Haley comes in second in Iowa.
00:04:59.000 She gets a boost going into New Hampshire.
00:05:00.000 She wins New Hampshire.
00:05:02.000 And now basically the race comes down to South Carolina.
00:05:05.000 In order for that to happen, though, Chris Christie would have to drop out of the race.
00:05:07.000 Well, last night, Chris Christie did drop out of the race.
00:05:10.000 He suspended his campaign.
00:05:12.000 He announced he was suspending his campaign, which again Credit to Chris Christie.
00:05:16.000 I was under the assumption he wouldn't because there is no bigger egomaniac in American politics than Chris Christie, who continues to run for president despite the fact he's not been popular for a full decade.
00:05:25.000 But here was Chris Christie last night dropping out of the race, suspending his campaign.
00:05:30.000 We run campaigns to win.
00:05:33.000 My goal has never been to be just a voice against the hate and the division and the selfishness of what our party has become under Donald Trump.
00:05:45.000 It's also been to win the nomination and defeat Joe Biden and restore our party and our country to a new place of hope and optimism in this country.
00:05:56.000 I've always said that if there came a point in time in this race where I couldn't see a path to accomplishing that goal, that I would get out.
00:06:08.000 And it's clear to me tonight that there isn't a path for me to win the nomination.
00:06:16.000 Which is why I'm suspending my campaign tonight for President of the United States.
00:06:22.000 Okay, so, that is the right move, because that allows the field to consolidate in New Hampshire.
00:06:26.000 Now, what would have allowed it to consolidate more in New Hampshire, obviously, is if Christie had done what everybody expected and just endorsed Nikki Haley.
00:06:32.000 But Christie's still too much of an egomaniac for that, so he got caught on a hot mic at the same event, ripping the only other people who could stop Donald Trump.
00:06:39.000 So he says that, like, his top priority is stopping Donald Trump, does Chris Christie, and then he gets caught on a hot mic ripping the only other two people in the race with any credible shot of stopping Donald Trump.
00:06:49.000 Yeah, that's what you get.
00:06:51.000 I mean, look, she spent $68 million so far.
00:06:53.000 She's on TV.
00:06:54.000 Spent $68 million so far.
00:06:57.000 $59 million by DeSantis.
00:06:58.000 And we spent $12.
00:06:59.000 I mean, who's punching above their weight?
00:07:02.000 And who's getting a return on their investment?
00:07:04.000 And she's going to get smoked.
00:07:06.000 And you and I both know it.
00:07:07.000 She's not up to this.
00:07:11.000 Okay, that, of course, led Donald Trump to go online and talk about how much he actually likes Chris Christie.
00:07:17.000 Quote, I hear Chris Christie is dropping out of the race today.
00:07:20.000 I might even get to like him again.
00:07:23.000 Anyway, he was just caught on a hot mic making a very truthful statement.
00:07:26.000 She's going to get smoked.
00:07:27.000 You and I both know it.
00:07:28.000 She's not up to this.
00:07:30.000 So, of course, Trump immediately jumping on the person to whom most of Chris Christie's support is presumably going to go.
00:07:37.000 But the field is, in fact, consolidating.
00:07:39.000 And that led to a debate last night between DeSantis and Nikki Haley.
00:07:43.000 We'll get to more on that in just one second.
00:07:44.000 First, if you're looking to save money this year, but you actually don't want to sacrifice, you know, quality of life, Pure Talk has your back.
00:07:51.000 Instead of paying your current cell phone provider $60, $70, $80 a line, Pure Talk has a limited plan starting at just $20 a month.

00:08:03.000 That's how the average family saves almost $1,000 a year.
00:08:06.000 Switch on over to a wireless company that shares your values.
00:08:09.000 A company that is veteran-owned, that serves veterans, that isn't afraid to invest in shows like this one.
00:08:14.000 What are you waiting for?

00:08:29.000 Right now, you'll save an additional 50% off your very first month of coverage.
00:08:32.000 That's puretalk.com slash Shapiro.
00:08:34.000 Get connected right now.
00:08:35.000 Again, puretalk.com slash Shapiro.
00:08:38.000 Start off the year saving on wireless with a company you can be proud of because they actually like you.
00:08:42.000 Go check them out right now at puretalk.com slash Shapiro.
00:08:45.000 Now again, the dynamics of the race are very weird because Nikki Haley actually needs DeSantis to stay in the race.
00:08:51.000 That's what's strange about this dynamic.
00:08:53.000 There's this wild theory that somehow if the field consolidates down to Nikki Haley versus Donald Trump, that makes Nikki Haley more competitive.
00:09:01.000 That's actually not right because that's assuming that DeSantis' support flows to Nikki Haley rather than to Trump.
00:09:07.000 That's incorrect.
00:09:09.000 The large majority of Ron DeSantis' support will flow to Donald Trump because they think that Trump is harder-nosed than Nikki Haley.
00:09:16.000 They see Nikki Haley as fairly squishy.
00:09:18.000 Now, the problem with the big debate last night between DeSantis and Haley is, of course, they're knocking each other.
00:09:23.000 They're bumper-carring each other.
00:09:25.000 DeSantis does need Haley to drop out, but Haley does not need DeSantis to drop out.
00:09:28.000 She needs DeSantis to stay in.
00:09:31.000 And so meanwhile, it's sort of a lobster pot over there, a crab pot.
00:09:34.000 They're sort of pulling each other down into the pot.
00:09:37.000 And that's what happened in the debate last night.
00:09:39.000 So DeSantis did actually levy some attacks against Donald Trump.
00:09:43.000 Haley really didn't.
00:09:44.000 Most of her attacks were against DeSantis, which again is strategically weird because if Haley's entire appeal is that she is more politic, more polished, and all of the rest, then I'm not sure why knocking DeSantis is going to get her anywhere.
00:09:58.000 And again, if DeSantis were to drop out, say, after Iowa, that actually hurts Nikki Haley pretty badly.
00:10:04.000 She needs him there to soak up 10, 12, 15 percent of the vote in various states going forward.
00:10:10.000 So here is Ron DeSantis going after Donald Trump over the Constitution.
00:10:13.000 Now again, let's just be clear about this.
00:10:15.000 If the primaries were held today, I would vote for Ron DeSantis.
00:10:18.000 I would vote for him.
00:10:19.000 He's the best Florida governor.
00:10:21.000 He is the best governor in America.
00:10:23.000 He is the most consistently conservative person in the race.
00:10:26.000 He is an incredibly competent executive.
00:10:29.000 He knows how to actually run the levers of power and make sure things happen, not just bloviate.
00:10:34.000 I would vote for him in a primary.
00:10:37.000 He is way behind and so is Nikki Haley.
00:10:39.000 They're both way behind.
00:10:40.000 So they were busy mashing each other on CNN.
00:10:43.000 Donald Trump was over on Fox News with Bret Baier sipping a Diet Coke and enjoying his life.
00:10:47.000 Anyway, here is Ron DeSantis going after Trump over the Constitution.
00:10:50.000 And it's interesting, the oath doesn't say that you're going to defend the shores of the United States or engage in military conflict.
00:10:57.000 The oath simply says that you will support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
00:11:02.000 As President of the United States, you will preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
00:11:07.000 You can't just terminate the Constitution.
00:11:09.000 I mean, I know he does, you know, word vomit from time to time on social media, but obviously I will uphold the Constitution.
00:11:16.000 That, of course, is exactly true.
00:11:18.000 And then DeSantis turned to Haley and he pointed out the big rap on Haley,
00:11:21.000 which is that she's too squishy on a lot of issues.
00:11:22.000 And there are a lot of Republicans who feel that Nikki Haley is too squishy
00:11:25.000 on a lot of issues, that she sort of blows with the wind on a variety of issues.
00:11:29.000 So, for example, he says, I didn't see you out there fighting the school lockdowns.
00:11:33.000 Now, to be somewhat fair to Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley wasn't in a position
00:11:36.000 of political power in 2020.
00:11:38.000 She'd already left the Trump administration.
00:11:39.000 She was UN ambassador under Trump.
00:11:41.000 She wouldn't have had a lot to say about that.
00:11:43.000 Anyway, with that said, he is right that the person who led the battle to reopen schools was him.
00:11:49.000 You know, Governor Haley mentioned, I think correctly, the devastating mental health consequences for the school closures, a lot of things that happened during COVID.
00:11:57.000 I never recalled seeing her out there fighting the fight.
00:12:00.000 I was on the front lines on that.
00:12:03.000 Hey, again, he happens to be right about this.
00:12:05.000 He also pointed out that Nikki Haley still has not ruled out running as Donald Trump's VP.
00:12:09.000 So if you're really running for president, then why are you running for VP is the case that DeSantis was making to the anchors.
00:12:15.000 She won't answer the question about whether she would accept the VP nod.
00:12:19.000 Uh, and she gives all these, you know, mealy mouthed response.
00:12:21.000 What's wrong with just saying, no, I would not under any circumstances say that.
00:12:25.000 And I think the fact that she has not done that is part of the reason Chris had been staying in.
00:12:30.000 And I think that's part of the reason I think he's had those choice words.
00:12:32.000 Do you think she would agree to be vice president?
00:12:34.000 I do.
00:12:34.000 I mean, I do.
00:12:35.000 Because I think, why would you not just say, I would not?
00:12:38.000 I've said I would not.
00:12:40.000 Why not just say that?
00:12:41.000 She will not give a yes or no answer to that.
00:12:43.000 Because if she says yes, she loses support from the people that don't like Trump.
00:12:47.000 If she says no, then that forecloses, potentially, her ability to be on the ticket.
00:12:53.000 We'll get to more on that in just one second.
00:12:54.000 First, you know I've been talking about my Helix mattress for years.
00:12:58.000 I've had that Helix mattress for, I don't know, almost a decade at this point.

00:13:06.000 It's that simple.
00:13:06.000 Helix is the gift that keeps on giving every night when I climb into bed.

00:14:07.000 With Helix, better sleep starts right now.
00:14:10.000 Meanwhile, Nikki Haley was going after DeSantis, but not really on a good basis.
00:14:15.000 So she kept saying over and over that people should visit desantislies.com.
00:14:18.000 It was very annoying.
00:14:19.000 She said it maybe a dozen times in the first hour of the debate to the point where it just became a meme.
00:14:24.000 Many of her attacks were either sort of bad-spirited or just false.
00:14:29.000 So, number one, bad-spirited.
00:14:32.000 She accuses DeSantis of spending an awful lot of money on the campaign and not doing very well.
00:14:36.000 I mean, that's true.
00:14:37.000 Also, it's sort of irrelevant.
00:14:39.000 Like, what does that have to do with anything?
00:14:41.000 Like, if he had spent a lot of money on the campaign and he had been doing amazing in the polls, would she not be attacking him?
00:14:46.000 It's a strange line of attack here.
00:14:49.000 Don't go and lie to the American people to make them think we can't do this.
00:14:53.000 You turn around and raise the debt limit.
00:14:55.000 You're the one that's talked about, look at what you did to Florida.
00:14:58.000 But think about the fact that he's talking about where's this money going to come from.
00:15:03.000 The best way to tell about a candidate is to see how they run their campaign.
00:15:07.000 He has blown through $150 million.
00:15:10.000 I don't even know how you do that.
00:15:12.000 Through his campaign, he has nothing to show for it.
00:15:15.000 He spent more money on private planes than he has on commercials trying to get Iowans to vote for him.
00:15:21.000 If you can't manage a campaign, how are you going to manage a country?
00:15:25.000 Okay, that is an incredibly stupid argument.
00:15:28.000 I'm just going to put that out there.
00:15:29.000 It's a dumb argument.
00:15:29.000 Donald Trump ran the most lackluster, ridiculous campaign in 2016, and then he won.
00:15:34.000 I mean, truly, he spent almost no money, he did almost no on-the-ground work, and then he won.
00:15:40.000 So, that's really not correct.
00:15:42.000 Also, DeSantis has spent an awful lot of time on the ground in Iowa, more than Nikki Haley has.
00:15:46.000 For example, Haley then bashed DeSantis over Israel.
00:15:48.000 Again, this is just a wrong attack.
00:15:51.000 The notion that Ron DeSantis is in any way weak on Israel is an absurdity.
00:15:54.000 DeSantis is by far the most pro-Israel governor in America.
00:15:58.000 By far.
00:15:59.000 It is not close.
00:16:00.000 But here is Haley going after him on this.
00:16:02.000 But it's really rich that Ron is going to act like he suddenly cares for Israel when he brought the person to Iowa that's the most anti-Israel Republican in the state, the person that went and voted against Israel's right to exist in Congress, the person that voted with the squad against anti-Semitism on college campuses.
00:16:20.000 Thank you, Governor.
00:16:22.000 Thank you, Governor.
00:16:25.000 Governor DeSantis, she's obviously referring to Congressman Tom Massey from Kentucky.
00:16:30.000 I mean, that's just cheap, cheap garbage.
00:16:32.000 But here's the thing.
00:16:33.000 When the attack happened against Israel, I knew it was gonna be a big deal for Florida.
00:16:38.000 We have one of the largest Israeli-American populations in the country, and we've been a haven for Orthodox Jews in particular since I've been governor.
00:16:45.000 And you know what?
00:16:46.000 Biden wasn't helping Americans get out of the war zone.
00:16:49.000 These are people that were stranded.
00:16:51.000 So I did an executive order, we scrambled planes, and we rescued over 700 Americans from Israel and brought them back safely to the state of Florida.
00:16:59.000 You've got to step up and you've got to lead when things like this are happening.
00:17:03.000 Again, that is a win for DeSantis.
00:17:04.000 Now, does anyone really win coming out of this particular debate?
00:17:08.000 The answer is no.
00:17:08.000 Trump wasn't on the stage.
00:17:10.000 Trump was busily over on Fox News answering questions from BetBear.
00:17:14.000 And what's been clear here is that Trump is actually pivoting to the general election at this point.
00:17:18.000 Trump is no longer fighting in the primaries.
00:17:20.000 Now, that doesn't mean that he can stop himself from getting snippy with the other candidates.
00:17:26.000 He just tells lies about DeSantis.
00:17:27.000 He does.
00:17:28.000 He tells lies about his opponents on a regular basis.
00:17:30.000 That is something that Donald Trump does.
00:17:31.000 And to be frank, that is part of the charm that a lot of Trump supporters feel about Trump.
00:17:36.000 Because they are so cynical about politics, Trump supporters, for a lot of good reasons, that they believe that so long as the person they are backing is willing to throw everything up to and including rubber hammers, kitchen sinks, chainsaws, alligators at an opponent, doesn't matter if it's justified or unjustified, they want the person who is simply unpredictable, willing to do anything, and that's what they see in Trump.
00:17:58.000 So, the rest of the field is like, well, that attack is untrue, and truth is a standard.
00:18:02.000 But a lot of Trump supporters are like, truth is not the standard, winning is the standard.
00:18:07.000 And if winning takes being mean and saying things that are not true, well, I guess that I'm happy that Trump is doing that sort of stuff.
00:18:13.000 That's the actual logic that applies as part of this campaign.
00:18:17.000 So, for example, Donald Trump yesterday suggested that Ron DeSantis shut down the state of Florida.
00:18:21.000 This, of course, is not true.
00:18:22.000 OK, this is just a joke.
00:18:23.000 Everyone knows that Ron DeSantis, after the very early weeks of the pandemic, worked extremely hard to open up the state of Florida.
00:18:30.000 Meanwhile, he and Brian Kemp and many other governors were being chided by Donald Trump, who was then president of the United States, for reopening too soon.
00:18:37.000 So Trump is just rewriting history here.
00:18:38.000 It's not true.
00:18:39.000 And it's morally bad to lie.
00:18:41.000 OK, it is morally bad to lie.
00:18:42.000 But is that going to hurt him politically in any way?
00:18:44.000 Hasn't so far.
00:18:47.000 I own a small business and time is money.
00:18:50.000 Would you ever allow a shutdown in the future?
00:18:53.000 A shutdown in terms of COVID?
00:18:57.000 Or a shutdown in terms of budget?
00:18:59.000 Because you know, they're talking about a budget shutdown right now, but you're talking about a covid shutdown, correct?
00:19:04.000 No, I wouldn't.
00:19:04.000 And I never did.
00:19:05.000 I let the governors make their decisions.
00:19:07.000 And some of them, like from South Carolina, you know, Henry McMaster and frankly, North Dakota, a few of them, Tennessee, they didn't shut down at all.
00:19:17.000 Florida did shut down.
00:19:18.000 Run to Sanctus shut down or, as he's known, run to sanctimonious.
00:19:24.000 He shut his state down very violently, actually, and shut the highways down, the roads down.
00:19:29.000 But we had... I'm a Federalist, in a sense, because that's the Federalist way.
00:19:34.000 No, I didn't actually have a shutdown, despite the fact that some people wanted to, and some people didn't want to.
00:19:39.000 But we had some great governors, and the governors that did the best job were Republican governors, and they were the ones that didn't shut down.
00:19:48.000 By the way, he was ripping many of those Republican governors at the time.
00:19:50.000 He sort of sideswipes at DeSantis, obviously.
00:19:54.000 Poorly motivated, he still thinks that DeSantis could do him some damage in Iowa.
00:19:59.000 But is he deeply worried about either DeSantis or Haley at this point?
00:20:03.000 I mean, by the polling numbers, the answer is no.

00:21:10.000 Okay, so, he's on with Brett Baier last night.
00:21:14.000 And again, Donald Trump has shifted to the general election.
00:21:16.000 He's already talking general election talk.
00:21:17.000 So, it was kind of fascinating to watch him work because, again, this campaign is very likely at this point, statistically speaking, to come down to Donald Trump versus Joe Biden.
00:21:25.000 So, Donald Trump was asked by Brett Baier about political violence.
00:21:29.000 Donald Trump had suggested that if, for example, he ends up being jailed after being prosecuted, that that will lead to political violence, to bedlam, is the word that he used.
00:21:37.000 Brett Baier asks him about that, and Trump cleans it up.
00:21:41.000 Can you say tonight that political violence is never acceptable?
00:21:45.000 Well, of course, that's right.
00:21:46.000 And of course, I'm the one that had very little of it.
00:21:50.000 Take a look at wars again.
00:21:51.000 I didn't start.
00:21:52.000 I wasn't involved in wars.
00:21:53.000 We beat the hell out of ISIS.
00:21:55.000 We won 100 percent.
00:21:57.000 We brought our troops back home.
00:21:59.000 Look at look at the violence that we've had.
00:22:01.000 Look at the violence we have recently.
00:22:03.000 But when you say bedlam.
00:22:05.000 What do you mean?
00:22:05.000 I think Bedlam.
00:22:06.000 I think you look at Joe Biden.
00:22:07.000 It's Bedlam.
00:22:08.000 You have a man who can't lead.
00:22:10.000 You have a man who can't find his way off a stage after he makes a speech that lasts for about two minutes.
00:22:15.000 Now, I think Bedlam is Joe Biden.
00:22:17.000 I think that he's using this.
00:22:19.000 This is just a political ploy.
00:22:22.000 Trump is a dictator.
00:22:23.000 He wants to be a dictator.
00:22:25.000 OK, again, Trump doing cleanup for the general.
00:22:28.000 And honestly, not a bad answer.
00:22:31.000 Meanwhile, Trump was also asked about being a dictator, and he had an answer for that one too.
00:22:38.000 He says, like, this is silly.
00:22:40.000 I did a show, Sean Hannity, did you ever hear of him?
00:22:42.000 He's a very nice man.
00:22:44.000 And he said, essentially, you're not going to be a dictator, are you?
00:22:47.000 Tell me.
00:22:48.000 I think he was trying to give me a nicer question than maybe you guys would.
00:22:51.000 He meant it very well.
00:22:52.000 I said, I'm going to be a dictator for one day.
00:22:56.000 We're going to do two things.
00:22:58.000 The border.
00:22:59.000 We're going to make it so tight you can't get in unless you come in legally.
00:23:04.000 And the other is energy.
00:23:05.000 We're going to drill, baby, drill.
00:23:06.000 After that, I'm not going to be a dictator.
00:23:08.000 After that, I'm not going to be a dictator.
00:23:12.000 Okay, so what he's saying there, he's using the dictator language and he's flipping the dictator language into, I'm going to do some executive orders, which by the way is not being a dictator.
00:23:20.000 And of course the media ran with that and Joe Biden ran with that.
00:23:23.000 Do most people think that Donald Trump is going to be like a Hitlerian Mussolini-esque dictator in the United States?
00:23:28.000 Very hard to see how that line plays for Joe Biden.
00:23:32.000 Donald Trump was also asked about these stories, these late-breaking stories that have been put out by the left-wing press about how a lot of foreign dignitaries stayed at Trump hotels.
00:23:41.000 And they were considering this a form of indirect bribery.
00:23:44.000 Here was Trump answering that question.
00:23:46.000 Documents that say that nearly $8 million in payments to your businesses from foreign governments, China included, Saudi Arabia, while you were in office.
00:23:54.000 They say Article 1 of the Constitution says you can't accept money from foreign governments while president.
00:23:59.000 Would you pledge to divest from your business in a second term as other presidents have done?
00:24:03.000 That's what they're reporting.
00:24:05.000 I own hotels all over the place.
00:24:07.000 I don't get free money.
00:24:08.000 Somebody rents a hotel room, et cetera, et cetera.
00:24:11.000 Much money I gave back.
00:24:12.000 In fact, I didn't have to do it.
00:24:13.000 You know, George Washington was a very rich man.
00:24:15.000 People don't know that.
00:24:17.000 In his essentially White House, which wasn't built, but they had an office, he had a business desk and he had a country desk right next to each other.
00:24:26.000 You're allowed to do that.
00:24:27.000 I didn't do it.
00:24:28.000 I put everything in trust.
00:24:30.000 And if I have a hotel and somebody comes in from China, that's a small amount of money.
00:24:34.000 And it sounds like a lot of money.
00:24:35.000 That's a small.
00:24:36.000 But I was doing services for that.
00:24:37.000 People were staying in these massive hotels, these beautiful hotels.
00:24:41.000 Because I have the best hotels.
00:24:42.000 I have the best clubs.
00:24:44.000 I have the best clubs.
00:24:45.000 I have great stuff.
00:24:47.000 And they stay there, and they pay.
00:24:49.000 I don't get $8 million for doing nothing, like Hunter.
00:24:52.000 I don't get $500,000.
00:24:53.000 I don't get $500,000 for doing a painting.
00:24:54.000 $500,000. I don't get $500,000 for doing a painting. It's not a bad idea, I guess, if
00:25:00.000 you can get away with it.
00:25:05.000 And this is where Biden is going to be vulnerable.
00:25:06.000 He's going to be vulnerable.
00:25:07.000 Like all these attacks on Trump, I don't think that they are going to hunt.
00:25:10.000 Meanwhile, in terms of the actual policy, Trump, as I say, he's pivoted toward the general.
00:25:15.000 So on abortion, he understands that the abortion issue has not been a winner for Republicans on the federal level.
00:25:22.000 The abortion issue, I mean, listen, I'm as pro-life as it gets.
00:25:24.000 The reality is that by pulling data, the American people, broad read, And again, it's a state-by-state issue now, thanks to the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, which is correct and good.
00:25:34.000 In certain states, like the state of Florida, you're getting a heartbeat bill.
00:25:37.000 In certain states, like New York, you're gonna get abortion until you're 83 years old.
00:25:41.000 And that's just the way that it is going to work in the United States under Roe vs. Wade, to my great consternation.
00:25:45.000 I wish it weren't the case.
00:25:46.000 I think that every life deserves protection.
00:25:48.000 Trump is asked about this.
00:25:50.000 He understands, innately, that if he says anything that is too pro-life, it's going to be used against him in a presidential election.
00:25:57.000 And because he's so popular with the Republican base, he understands he can get away with saying things that are not fully pro-life.
00:26:02.000 A primary is usually where you're able to push the candidate to the right.
00:26:06.000 Trump, because he's so far out in front, has the ability to not be pushed to the right on issues where he doesn't want to be pushed to the right.
00:26:12.000 Again, to my consternation as a pro-lifer, but that is the politics of the situation.
00:26:16.000 Here's Trump playing those politics.
00:26:18.000 I'd like for you to reassure me that you can protect all life, every person's right to life, without compromise.
00:26:26.000 So, that's a great question.
00:26:28.000 I appreciate it, too.
00:26:30.000 You wouldn't be asking that question, even talking about the issue, because for 54 years they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it.
00:26:39.000 And I'm proud to have done it.
00:26:40.000 They wanted to get it back, right?
00:26:42.000 You wouldn't have that.
00:26:43.000 There would be no question.
00:26:44.000 Nobody else was going to get that done but me.
00:26:47.000 And we did it.
00:26:48.000 And we did something that was a miracle.
00:26:50.000 When I walked onto the stage today, a gentleman in the back, probably works for Fox, nice guy, said, Sir, I'd like to thank you.
00:26:57.000 I said, For what?
00:26:58.000 He said, You saved two million lives in the last Three years.
00:27:02.000 You saved two million lives.
00:27:03.000 And I said, thank you very much.
00:27:04.000 I knew exactly what he meant.
00:27:06.000 Two million lives.
00:27:07.000 And nobody's done more in that regard than me.
00:27:10.000 Now, I happen to be, for the exceptions, like Ronald Reagan, with the life of the mother, rape, incest.
00:27:20.000 I just have to be there, I feel.
00:27:23.000 I think probably 78% or so, Paul, about 78%.
00:27:25.000 It was Ronald Reagan.
00:27:27.000 He was for it.
00:27:28.000 I was for it.
00:27:30.000 Then he turned and he swiveled and he hit DeSantis for being too pro-life.
00:27:33.000 Again, this is Trump positioning himself for the general and trying to take the abortion issue off the table.
00:27:38.000 Not my cup of tea?
00:27:39.000 It isn't stupid politics.
00:27:41.000 That is true.
00:27:42.000 Also, again, the good thing that Trump has going for him, and having consolidated so much of the Republican base at this point, is the fact that, politically speaking, he can already moderate.
00:27:52.000 Early on, he can moderate.
00:27:54.000 And Joe Biden is abandoning the moderates in his own party.
00:27:56.000 Joe Biden has swiveled all the way to his left, and he's opening up this giant space in the center of American politics for Trump to simply walk into, which is kind of amazing.
00:28:04.000 That's particularly true on the immigration issue.
00:28:07.000 So, again, Trump's record on immigration is much better than Joe Biden's because Joe Biden has the worst record on illegal immigration in American history.
00:28:13.000 That doesn't mean Trump's record is perfect.
00:28:14.000 It certainly is not.
00:28:15.000 The first couple years of his administration, for example, Donald Trump did not actually have a remain-in-Mexico policy, for example.
00:28:22.000 The first couple years of his administration, he had not given ICE the ability to do serious levels of deportation.
00:28:27.000 He's now pledging there will be mass deportations.
00:28:29.000 Again, do I think that's actually going to happen under Donald Trump?
00:28:31.000 I have serious doubts, but that is the pledge he's making.
00:28:35.000 What's your question for the former president?
00:28:37.000 You said that you can take care of the border in 24 hours after taking office.
00:28:43.000 How will you gather the several millions that have already entered our country illegally and return them to their country of origin?
00:28:51.000 Great question.
00:28:52.000 It's not sustainable for our country.
00:28:55.000 We have millions and millions of people here.
00:28:58.000 It is not sustainable.
00:29:00.000 Did you see in New York City with it getting The regular students out and they're putting migrants in their place.
00:29:07.000 We are going to have the largest deportation effort in the history of our country.
00:29:12.000 We're bringing everybody back to where they came from.
00:29:15.000 We have no choice.
00:29:18.000 Okay, do I think he's actually going to do that?
00:29:19.000 Probably not, but it's definitely a good talking point against Joe Biden.
00:29:22.000 By the way, how many illegal immigrants are actually in the United States right now?
00:29:26.000 According to Yale and MIT, there's a study from Yale and MIT back in 2018, which is well before any of this.
00:29:32.000 It's now 2024.
00:29:33.000 Then they said there were 22 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
00:29:36.000 If there were 22 million in 2018, over the subsequent 6 years, you would imagine that you're talking another 5, 6, 7 million illegal immigrants.
00:29:45.000 You're talking about close to 30 million illegal immigrants in the country at this point.
00:29:50.000 All of that is a weakness of Joe Biden's.
00:29:51.000 There are a lot of drags on Joe Biden.
00:29:53.000 One of the big drags on Joe Biden is, again, that when it comes to many of the personal qualities that Joe Biden is attacking in Donald Trump, he holds many of those same personal qualities, from the overuse of executive orders to his accusations that Donald Trump is corrupt.
00:30:07.000 But the reality is that a lot of people in the United States perceive Joe Biden as corrupt because the Biden family has used Joe Biden's name to traffic for literally 30 years in dirty money.
00:30:16.000 So yesterday, that all broke into the open.
00:30:19.000 Now, again, I think what's going on in Congress right now, I think Congress is a clown show.
00:30:23.000 I think our legislative branch has become an absolute clown show that gets almost nothing done.
00:30:26.000 What they do get done is generally bad.
00:30:28.000 There are a bunch of reasons for that.
00:30:30.000 There's an excellent book out called Why Congress.
00:30:32.000 And that book sort of explains the transition of Congress from a place where deals got done behind closed doors to a place where no deals got done at all.
00:30:40.000 And instead what you end up with is a lot of posturing.
00:30:42.000 That posturing broke out yesterday on the Hill.
00:30:46.000 I know there are a lot of Republicans who are very excited about people yelling at Hunter Biden.
00:30:48.000 I know there are a lot of Democrats who are very excited about Hunter Biden showing up on Capitol Hill.
00:30:51.000 Can I just point out that we have a country that has serious crises to face and this is all a waste of time and garbage?
00:30:57.000 Not the focus in on Hunter Biden and his relationship with Joe, but all these kind of fireworks where people then send off fundraising emails.
00:31:05.000 Let's just acknowledge that our legislative branch is filled with people who do not want to legislate, have no interest in getting anything done, and are there to eventually get a podcast or some sort of cable news show.
00:31:14.000 That's what's happening on Capitol Hill right now.
00:31:16.000 Like, there's serious things that should be happening, say, negotiation over the budget for this year.
00:31:22.000 But nobody's paying attention to that.
00:31:23.000 Instead, they're paying attention to the stupidity of Hunter Biden showing up on Capitol Hill as the House GOP was voting for contempt charges.
00:31:31.000 Yesterday, two House committees, according to the New York Times, voted along party lines to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress because he refused to testify behind closed doors.
00:31:40.000 There was a 23 to 14 vote by the Judiciary Committee and a 25 to 21 vote by the Oversight Committee.
00:31:44.000 Hunter Biden showed up there to make the point that he wanted to testify in open
00:31:50.000 committee, not behind closed doors.
00:31:52.000 And here's what it looked like when Hunter decided to show up unannounced.
00:31:54.000 I mean, it was one of the most shocking things since he was snorting coke off a hooker's
00:31:58.000 ass.
00:32:05.000 Looks like he's surrounded with his Secret Service team there and other members of his entourage.
00:32:10.000 But he is officially at the Capitol as these hearings get underway.
00:32:14.000 We're looking at live images right now as he goes through, it appears, the metal detector or nearby the metal detectors.
00:32:24.000 And we presumably expect him to enter.
00:32:28.000 At least one of these committee rooms, because again, this is before the Oversight Committee, also action happening in the Judiciary Committee.
00:32:36.000 We're just going to follow these cameras and Hunter Biden and see where he's going to head, what's going to happen next.
00:32:45.000 Again, he wasn't expected to show up for these hearings from the sense of he wasn't called by the people holding these hearings.
00:32:52.000 There are two stories here.
00:32:53.000 One is, is this good for Joe Biden?
00:32:56.000 One is, is this good for Joe Biden?
00:32:58.000 The answer's no.
00:32:59.000 Anytime we're talking about Hunter, it's bad for Joe.
00:33:01.000 That's just the reality.
00:33:02.000 And then there is question number two.
00:33:05.000 What does any of this mean?
00:33:06.000 And what it really means is that Congress is a complete sideshow at this point.
00:33:09.000 Again, serious things are happening in the country.
00:33:11.000 In just one second, I want to get to how much of a sideshow Congress is.
00:33:14.000 They're a waste of space.
00:33:16.000 They're a waste of time.
00:33:17.000 That is not an excuse for executive orders, by the way.
00:33:20.000 That is to say that Congress should be clawing back its own authority from the executive branch and, you know, be doing things from time to time.
00:33:26.000 But they're not focused on the things that matter.
00:33:28.000 Instead, they are focused on the camera time.
00:33:30.000 We'll get to more on that in a second.

00:34:07.000 Okay, meanwhile.
00:34:08.000 So, Hunter Biden shows up on the Hill.
00:34:11.000 The goal of him showing up on the Hill is to try to demonstrate that Republicans will not allow him to testify openly.
00:34:16.000 They want him to testify behind closed doors.
00:34:18.000 Originally, the committee had said he could pick to testify behind closed doors or openly.
00:34:22.000 And then they said, we want him to do both.
00:34:24.000 We want to testify behind closed doors in order to testify openly.
00:34:28.000 Now, realistically, You really want people to testify behind closed doors because otherwise you end up with the grandstanding.
00:34:33.000 So we got the worst of both worlds.
00:34:34.000 No testimony and grandstanding yesterday.
00:34:37.000 We got it from both sides of the aisle.
00:34:38.000 So Nancy Mace, who when she's not wearing a scarlet A for some odd reason to Congress, is a grandstanding on other topics.
00:34:45.000 Like she's one of the people who voted Kevin McCarthy out so that we could have Mike Johnson.
00:34:49.000 I like Mike Johnson, but he's about to pass a budget bill that's significantly worse than anything that McCarthy was going to pass last year.
00:34:55.000 Nancy Mace spent her time ripping Hunter Biden yesterday.
00:34:59.000 Again, this is the kind of stuff that gets sent out in fundraising emails and achieves absolutely nothing.
00:35:05.000 First of all, my first question is, who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today?
00:35:09.000 That's my first question.
00:35:11.000 Second question, you are the epitome of white privilege, coming into the Oversight Committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed.
00:35:21.000 What are you afraid of?
00:35:22.000 You have no balls to come up here and— Mr. Chairman, point of inquiry.
00:35:26.000 Mr. Chairman, I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now, and go straight to jail.
00:35:32.000 Our nation is founded on the rule of law and the premise that the law applies equally to everyone, no matter what your last name is.
00:35:41.000 Point of order, Mr. Chairman.
00:35:44.000 First of all, Republicans should stop accusing people of being beneficiaries of white privilege as just a general rule.
00:35:50.000 Because the real privilege that Hunter Biden has is not that he is white.
00:35:53.000 It's that he's Joe Biden's son.
00:35:55.000 All you end up doing when you say the white privilege stuff is opening the door to dolts like AOC.
00:35:59.000 Again, the amount of grandstanding is just insane.
00:36:01.000 Here's AOC, now grandstanding on the white privilege point.
00:36:03.000 Here we go.
00:36:05.000 Quickly, that moment about privilege and all of this that we're seeing here.
00:36:11.000 It was a very beautiful speech by the gentlelady who, as she mentioned, helped lead on the now-majority side of the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Subcommittee.
00:36:22.000 But I think it's so exemplary of the point that she also oversaw the elimination of the Civil Rights Subcommittee.
00:36:28.000 on this committee, which really kind of gives the whole game away.
00:36:32.000 We show up, we give speeches, we give flowery words, but at the end of the day, participate
00:36:37.000 in the structural erosion of the rights and representation of people that are marginalized,
00:36:43.000 women, people of color, people that just need to see their due process and civil liberties
00:36:47.000 protected in this country.
00:36:54.000 How's it possible that Congress gets worse with each and every passing year?
00:36:58.000 Then, Hunter Biden storms out of the room as MTG.
00:37:00.000 Marjorie Taylor Greene was yelling at him.
00:37:01.000 This is all great for our public, by the way.
00:37:03.000 This is all just wonderful.
00:37:05.000 I'm so glad that we can do all this on camera and everybody can get their minute of FaceTime.
00:37:08.000 It's just, it's great.
00:37:10.000 Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
00:37:12.000 Excuse me, Hunter, apparently you're afraid of my words.
00:37:16.000 It's like a WWE match.
00:37:21.000 I like to recline my time, Mr. Chairman.
00:37:24.000 Is that The Undertaker's music?
00:37:28.000 Wow, that's too bad.
00:37:34.000 I think it's clear and obvious for everyone watching this hearing today that Hunter Biden is terrified of strong, conservative Republican women because he can't even face my words as I was about to speak to him.
00:37:48.000 What a coward.
00:37:51.000 It's all kayfabe.
00:37:53.000 It's all kayfabe.
00:37:54.000 All Congress is at this point is a waste of space and kayfabe.
00:37:57.000 It's unbelievable.
00:37:58.000 And again, I'm not ripping on Marjorie Taylor Greene particularly or Nancy Mace particularly.
00:38:01.000 It's the Democrats too.
00:38:02.000 It's everyone.
00:38:03.000 It's everyone.
00:38:04.000 What do you guys do for a living?
00:38:04.000 I'm just wondering.
00:38:05.000 Like at some point, would you do something useful?
00:38:08.000 I know that you like to say things into camera and that's wonderful.
00:38:10.000 I mean, I do it for a living.
00:38:12.000 But you're not supposed to do it for a living.
00:38:13.000 You're an elected official on the public dime.
00:38:14.000 So at a certain point, maybe you could actually, you know, go pass some legislation or hold someone actually accountable.
00:38:20.000 Maybe you could do that.
00:38:22.000 Meanwhile, on the left side of the aisle, you got people like Jared Moskowitz doing the same thing.
00:38:26.000 Jared Moskowitz combated the Hunter Biden debacle by holding up a photo of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
00:38:33.000 This is where we are, guys.
00:38:34.000 This is our Congress.
00:38:35.000 Aren't you proud?
00:38:37.000 The gentle lady from Georgia, I know he's such an advocate for women's rights, as she mentioned, and is so concerned about grooming, and apparently we don't have any standards here anymore.
00:38:51.000 Again, I just want to remind my colleagues, because, you know, I don't want them to forget about hypocrisy, okay?
00:39:02.000 I don't want them to forget about hypocrisy.
00:39:03.000 It's all a clown show.
00:39:04.000 It's a picture he's holding up of Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump.
00:39:08.000 When he was asked, he said, you know, Jeffrey likes him young.
00:39:11.000 How did the president know that?
00:39:13.000 How did he know that Jeffrey Epstein likes him young?
00:39:17.000 And there's Rashida Tlaib laughing in the background as she thinks about the joys of Hamas.
00:39:22.000 Everyone in Congress is a clown.
00:39:26.000 I've said the word clown so many times that it's basically turned into a circus here, but not remotely the circus that Congress actually is.
00:39:33.000 Now, again, all this demonstrates that we have an irresponsible political class, a deeply irresponsible political class, and a broken congressional system.
00:39:41.000 And again, it is largely broken because the polarization of the parties makes it so no conversation actually takes place between the parties.
00:39:47.000 The end of politics is to eventually get out of politics and then go make money elsewhere.
00:39:52.000 So many members of Congress are getting rich after they leave Congress.
00:39:56.000 Something needs to be done about the political system of the legislature, because it is full-scale, full-stop disaster area.
00:40:03.000 That is takeaway number one.
00:40:04.000 Takeaway number two is Hunter Biden's really bad for Joe Biden.
00:40:06.000 When it comes to the 2024 race, Hunter is a nightmare for Joe Biden, because the more we're talking about Hunter, you know who we haven't mentioned for quite a while here is Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
00:40:15.000 Hunter went out to the press afterward, and the press asked him, like, why was it that your father was being called in the middle of your business meetings?
00:40:23.000 And here is his really bad answer.
00:40:26.000 Mr. Biden, why did you put your dad on speakerphone with your business partners if he had no involvement in your business?
00:40:31.000 Do you have a dad?
00:40:33.000 Did he call you?
00:40:34.000 Yes.
00:40:34.000 Did he answer the phone?
00:40:36.000 Yes.
00:40:36.000 Okay.
00:40:37.000 But why did you need to talk to him during business meetings if he had nothing to do with your business?
00:40:42.000 Also, the call went the other way.
00:40:43.000 It was from Hunter Biden to his dad.
00:40:45.000 You know what I don't do during business meetings generally?
00:40:47.000 Call my father.
00:40:49.000 I don't know about you, if you're in the middle of like a big multi-million dollar business meetings, you just be like, you know, let me get my dad on the phone for no reason, just to say hi and see how the weather is.
00:40:56.000 Is that like a thing you do regularly?
00:40:59.000 Meanwhile, the Democrats are forced to defend Hunter in order to defend Joe.
00:41:03.000 So James Clyburn, who of course is a big Biden backer in 2020, he is now saying that Hunter showing up to Congress shows just what a great father Joe is.
00:41:11.000 This is really the angle they're going to take.
00:41:12.000 It is not going to be awesome, guys.
00:41:15.000 One, would you have advised Hunter Biden to appear at today's hearing?
00:41:19.000 How big of a distraction liability is he to the president's re-election bid?
00:41:25.000 Well I think it's a distraction, but I don't think it's a liability.
00:41:28.000 I think that all this is going to do is demonstrate what a good father Joe Biden is.
00:41:34.000 We all, maybe not all, but I have children.
00:41:38.000 And I'm concerned about them.
00:41:40.000 And I want to be a good father to them.
00:41:43.000 And I'm not going to let any office I hold get in the way of being a good father.
00:41:49.000 Okay, if that is the final Democratic pitch on Hunter Biden, that is not gonna play.
00:41:54.000 That is not gonna play.
00:41:55.000 So one of the things, by the way, that has made our presidential elections so important is the fact that Congress is a bleep show.
00:42:01.000 If Congress were not a bleep show, most of policy would be getting done in Congress, and the president would be there with the veto pen, and that's how the process was originally supposed to work.
00:42:09.000 That's not the way anything works anymore, because Congress is basically devolved into an absolute goat rodeo.
00:42:18.000 It's ridiculous.
00:42:20.000 Well, meanwhile, the Republicans, in another, I think, semi-useless act, they are trying to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security.
00:42:26.000 Now, that's fine.
00:42:27.000 You can get rid of him.
00:42:28.000 I mean, Alejandro Mayorkas is a disgrace to his job.
00:42:30.000 There is no question about that.
00:42:32.000 And he has completely underscored the failure of the Biden administration to actually abide by the law.
00:42:38.000 Getting rid of Mayorkas is not actually going to solve the problem.
00:42:40.000 You have to get rid of Joe Biden in order to solve the problem.
00:42:42.000 You know what may be helpful here is a useful Congress.
00:42:45.000 A useful Congress that passes, you know, border legislation.
00:42:48.000 That might be the thing.
00:42:49.000 Now, can't blame the House for this.
00:42:51.000 Republicans in the House have in fact passed H.R.
00:42:53.000 2, which is quite a good bill.
00:42:54.000 It's Republicans in the Senate who have been a little more wishy-washy on that particular issue.
00:42:59.000 Suffice it to say, one of the things that happened because of the Hunter Biden hearing is that the Mayorkas stuff got blown off the front pages.
00:43:04.000 If one of the purposes of hearings is to put public focus on an issue, you actually do want the public focused more on Mayorkas and the border than you do on Nancy Mays and MTG and AOC and Jared Moskowitz grandstanding about Hunter Biden.
00:43:17.000 Frankly, I think that may be one of the reasons why Hunter Biden showed up yesterday is because politically speaking, if you're a Democrat, you would actually rather have people talking about Hunter Biden than talking about the disaster area at the border.
00:43:28.000 And according to Representative Mark Green, the DHS Chief Mayorkas has imported five million illegal immigrants.
00:43:35.000 Into the United States.
00:43:37.000 By the way, I think that's an underestimate.
00:43:38.000 I think it's actually higher than that at this point.
00:43:40.000 Because it seems like, by the stats that we saw yesterday, just in the last year alone, in 2023, 3 million illegal immigrants entered the country.
00:43:51.000 At a minimum.
00:43:52.000 So, it's probably higher than even that.
00:43:55.000 Representative Mark Green of Tennessee, he points out this is an intentional crisis being driven by the Biden administration.
00:44:01.000 He is correct about this.
00:44:03.000 All of these excuses have long predated Secretary Mayorkas' tenure, and yet, we've never experienced a crisis like this.
00:44:12.000 As even the New York Times admits, and I quote, push factors don't explain the entire surge, and maybe not even most of it.
00:44:20.000 There have been no recent wars in Latin America, and the region's poverty rate has been flat.
00:44:24.000 End quote.
00:44:25.000 The New York Times.
00:44:27.000 I'll also note that two of the 16 cities in the world with the highest murder rates are right here in the United States.
00:44:34.000 No, this crisis has been intentional.
00:44:36.000 Secretary Mayorkas was made aware of testimony given by President Biden's Attorney General Merrick Garland, where the AG admitted the current policies are being exploited by the cartels.
00:44:47.000 Yet Secretary Mayorkas turns around and implements additional policies to expand the catch and release measures, empowering the cartels and killing Americans.
00:44:59.000 He is totally right about all of this.
00:45:00.000 Meanwhile, Democrats are like, you can't get rid of Mayorkas.
00:45:02.000 That's our overall policy.
00:45:03.000 You gonna fire him for implementing our overall policy?
00:45:06.000 And he's about half right.
00:45:08.000 Everyone who's involved in this overall policy should be fired.
00:45:11.000 Here is Democratic Representative Benny Thompson trying to make the case that you can't get rid of Mayorkas just for putting in place Joe Biden's preferred policy.
00:45:19.000 The truth is, securing the border isn't really the Republicans' top concern.
00:45:26.000 If it was, they'd provide the people with boots on the ground at the border what they need to get the job done.
00:45:34.000 Republicans would rather explore the challenging policy issue for their own perceived political gain.
00:45:41.000 Republicans disagree with the Biden administration's border and immigration policies.
00:45:47.000 They're angry that this administration won't take babies from their moms or put kids in cages like the last administration.
00:45:56.000 You cannot impeach a cabinet secretary because you don't like the president's policies.
00:46:04.000 I mean, you can technically do that.
00:46:08.000 Now, the reality is what you should do is actually impeach the president or get rid of the president.
00:46:12.000 Impeaching the president at this point, Democratic Senate, ain't gonna happen.
00:46:15.000 But the American people do have the ability to get rid of the president in the next general election, and they should absolutely do that.
00:46:21.000 Again, the Democratic policy here is an open border policy.
00:46:23.000 There's just no question about that.
00:46:25.000 Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut He actually says that they do not want to scale back Joe Biden's ability to simply parole illegal immigrants into the general population.
00:46:37.000 I think we are interested as Democrats in providing the administration with tools that will help better manage the border.
00:46:48.000 We are not interested in taking away from the administration tools that they use today to help better manage the border.
00:46:58.000 And so when we talk about this topic of parole, it is very important to understand that it is used today as a way that the administration is able to better manage the flow in a planful way of individuals to the border.
00:47:19.000 Better manage the flow means let everybody in.
00:47:21.000 That's the actual Biden administration policy.
00:47:24.000 But again, all of this got obscured yesterday because of the Hunter Biden shenanigans.
00:47:27.000 That's all that happened in reality.
00:47:30.000 And meanwhile, the controversy continues to swirl around the Biden administration's failure to fire the defense secretary for going completely AWOL for a week.
00:47:38.000 Elise Stefanik, representative from New York, she says that it's about time for Lloyd Austin to resign.
00:47:42.000 Of course, she is correct.
00:47:44.000 I'm honored to serve as the House Republican Conference Chair, and most importantly, I represent my district every single day.
00:47:50.000 And look at the scandal right now with the Secretary of Defense.
00:47:53.000 I represent thousands of troops from Fort Drum, the 10th Mountain Division, who are deployed in the Middle East right now.
00:47:58.000 It is unacceptable that you have a Secretary of Defense who is not transparent with the White House, so I'm looking forward to being active on that issue to deliver accountability and transparency, and I call for his resignation.
00:48:09.000 So you want him fired?
00:48:10.000 Absolutely.
00:48:12.000 It has an impact on, first of all, adversaries are watching.
00:48:15.000 If you look at the national security challenges around the world today, whether the Middle East on fire, whether you think about China continuing to be on the rise, continuing to watch for American weakness, this asserts American weakness.
00:48:28.000 Now again, this is now becoming a bipartisan issue.
00:48:32.000 Getting rid of Lloyd Austin, the top House Armed Services Democrat, Representative Adam Smith of Washington, he says Biden should think about firing Lloyd Austin.
00:48:40.000 We know what happened.
00:48:41.000 I don't know that there's much of an inquiry or much digging that needs to be done.
00:48:45.000 We just need Secretary Austin to answer the question, why did he think that it was appropriate for him not to tell the President that all of this was going on?
00:48:55.000 I think we do need to hear an answer from that and I think the President needs to evaluate his relationship with the Secretary of Defense based on what happened and based on that answer.
00:49:06.000 Does that mean that you think that he should potentially consider firing him?
00:49:12.000 They gotta have that conversation.
00:49:13.000 I don't know.
00:49:13.000 Like I said, at the moment, I can't think of a plausible explanation.
00:49:16.000 That, of course, again, is a Democrat.
00:49:20.000 So Joe Biden's administration is chaos.
00:49:23.000 The more focus on that and the less focus on the chaos on the other side of the aisle, the better for the Republicans.
00:49:28.000 Meanwhile, the Biden administration continues to sow chaos in the Middle East with its uncertainty and unwillingness to actually just say the thing.
00:49:36.000 And the thing is, Hamas must be destroyed.
00:49:37.000 The Houthis must be stopped.
00:49:39.000 Iran is the actual sponsoring power here.
00:49:40.000 Doesn't mean you have to go to war directly with Iran, but certainly the United States and its allies have the capacity to cut the arms off the octopus that is the Iranian terror network.
00:49:48.000 But sadly, the U.S.
00:49:50.000 and its allies are still trying to figure out exactly how to stop the Houthis.
00:49:53.000 Again, this notion that the West has no ability to stop a ragtag group of pirates in the Red Sea is totally insane, totally crazy.
00:50:01.000 And yet that is precisely what the Biden administration continues to push.
00:50:06.000 It is unclear to them exactly how to stop the Houthis, they say.
00:50:10.000 I mean, I'm confused.
00:50:12.000 Can't you just kill a bunch of them?
00:50:14.000 They do have these bases that exist right on the coast that they are using in order to launch their inflatables and their drones at ships.
00:50:20.000 Couldn't they, you know, actually just kill a bunch of the Houthis?
00:50:27.000 Explain to me the problem.
00:50:29.000 And yet, according to the New York Times, the United States and Italians are weighing how to stop attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea after American and British officials said Wednesday their navies had intercepted one of the largest barrages yet of drones and missiles fired from an area controlled by the Houthis, an Iranian-backed group in Yemen.
00:50:43.000 The attacks, which the Houthis say will go on until Israel ends its campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, are threatening maritime traffic in one of the world's most crucial shipping lanes.
00:50:51.000 Antony Blinken said, what I can tell you is, as we made clear, many other countries made clear, there will be consequences for the Houthis' actions.
00:50:57.000 Okay, well, you know, at some point, you might want to actually materialize those consequences.
00:51:00.000 Otherwise, it sounds like you are a weakling and the shipping costs are piling up.
00:51:04.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, Western importers are reporting a steep rise in ocean shipping rates and weeks-long delays as carriers divert ships from the Red Sea to avoid Houthi rebel attacks.
00:51:14.000 Some companies shipping goods on the crucial trade lane are starting to chafe at the rising prices and extra fees ocean carriers are imposing for the higher cost of routing container ships on longer voyages all the way around the Horn of Africa.
00:51:25.000 Average worldwide cost to ship 40-foot-long containers have nearly doubled since late November.
00:51:29.000 That is the fault of the Biden administration, which again, continues to send mixed signals in what is the most morally clear conflict in modern history.
00:51:37.000 I'm sorry, when a genocidal terrorist group crosses the border of another country, murders 1,200 of its citizens, takes another 240 hostages, there's still 100 hostages there, and then the power it provoked goes in and wrecks them, while attempting to maintain civilian life, by the way, at a rate that the enemy certainly would not.
00:51:54.000 Not only would they not, they're literally hiding in civilian areas.
00:51:57.000 This is a particularly clear case of the West should be unified in support of Israel getting rid of Hamas, and if there are ancillary terror groups that are threatening Israel or threatening shipping, which, by the way, forget about what you think about Israel.
00:52:10.000 Threatening shipping actually has an impact on your daily life and my daily life.
00:52:14.000 If you can't stand up again, at what point would you stand up, precisely?
00:52:18.000 But the wild left continues to run this administration, or at least have heavy impact on this administration.
00:52:24.000 Now what's amazing about all of this is that Hamas just keeps saying the quiet part out loud.
00:52:28.000 So yesterday, for example, Hamas's leader, Ismail Haniyeh, he's the political leader of Hamas, operating out of Qatar.
00:52:35.000 I guess he may be in Turkey at this point.
00:52:37.000 They keep moving him around because he's afraid that he's going to get killed by the Israelis.
00:52:40.000 Yesterday, he literally said that when you give money to Gaza, it's going to fund Hamas.
00:52:45.000 And meanwhile, the Americans are like, maybe we should give more money to Gaza.
00:52:49.000 Genius level stuff here.
00:52:54.000 He says the second issue is a call to donate money.
00:52:56.000 ...
00:53:03.000 Dear brothers and sisters, let us call this financial jihad.
00:53:06.000 ...
00:53:11.000 The Islamic nation does not make donations.
00:53:14.000 This is not just a humanitarian issue.
00:53:19.000 Despite its immense importance and Gaza's need for any aid it can get.
00:53:22.000 This is financial jihad.
00:53:25.000 We need to put resources in.
00:53:27.000 We should revive this principle of Islamic jurisprudence in our Islamic nation.
00:53:31.000 The notion of waging jihad with one's life and one's money.
00:53:33.000 So he's calling for foreign aid to the Gaza Strip so it can be stolen by Hamas and used.
00:53:39.000 And meanwhile, the West's like, maybe we should send them more foreign aid.
00:53:41.000 Thankfully, the West is filled with moron left-wingers.
00:53:44.000 The best tape of the moron left-wingers yesterday, standing for Hamas, comes from San Francisco.
00:53:49.000 So San Francisco's city council voted for a ceasefire.
00:53:52.000 Well, amazing news.
00:53:54.000 I'm sure that Israel's government voted for San Francisco to stop being a homeless, ridden, feces-ridden shithole.
00:54:01.000 Like, did it have any impact on the governance of San Francisco?
00:54:06.000 No, obviously.
00:54:08.000 So here are a bunch of people who would be murdered immediately by Hamas if Hamas came into contact with them, cheering as they called for a ceasefire in San Francisco.
00:54:16.000 By the way, the same city council hearing saw a person who had five relatives murdered on October 7th testify, and people were making oinking noises in the background as he testified.
00:54:24.000 So these people are just- By the way, they're still wearing masks.
00:54:26.000 The year is 2024, I noticed, on the calendar.
00:54:30.000 Here we go.
00:54:40.000 Every one of them.
00:54:41.000 It's an amazing thing.
00:54:43.000 Why are all their haircuts bad?
00:54:44.000 Asks producer Savvy.
00:54:46.000 And the answer is because they're crazy people.
00:54:48.000 That's why.
00:54:48.000 And the Biden administration continues to cater to the crazy people.
00:54:52.000 By the way, so does Harvard.
00:54:53.000 Breaking news from Cassie Dillon over at Daily Wire.
00:54:56.000 Harvard is hosting a summer program at a Palestinian university dominated by Hamas.
00:55:01.000 According to Cassie, Harvard University will host a summer program where students will be briefed on settler colonialism at a Palestinian university that called for glory to the martyrs after the October 7th terrorist massacre.
00:55:11.000 The Embattled Ivy League Institution's Palestine Social Medicine course will send Harvard students to Berzit University in the West Bank, according to the program's website.
00:55:19.000 It explains, the three-week intensive summer course is designed to introduce students to the social, structural, political, and historical aspects that determine Palestinian health beyond the biological basis of disease.
00:55:29.000 The curriculum content will include hearing from health practitioners, academics, and activists about various topics, including settler colonialism and its manifestations in Palestine.
00:55:38.000 A spokeswoman for Harvard defended the program, saying that Birzeit is a public institution governed by an autonomous board of trustees with no political, religious, or sectarian affiliation.
00:55:48.000 Well, the student population literally voted for a Hamas-affiliated bloc in the student government.
00:55:54.000 So, basically, this place is run by Hamas, and Harvard is still affiliated, because these radical universities are, in fact, still affiliated with the far-left ideology.
00:56:04.000 And the Biden administration wants to win their votes, and so they continue to cater to them.
00:56:08.000 Meanwhile, over at The Hague at the International Court of Justice, which is just a waste of space and a waste of time.
00:56:12.000 It's like the United Nations on steroids, the ICJ.
00:56:16.000 South Africa is trying to prosecute Israel for genocide.
00:56:21.000 While Israel is attacked by a genocidal group, literally targeting Jews for murder, and while 100 hostages are being held in terror, or maybe they're already dead, in Gaza.
00:56:31.000 South Africa, a country famous for its racial tolerance, is now suggesting that Israel ought to be persecuted or prosecuted for genocide.
00:56:42.000 By the way, like four days ago, Four days ago, the leader of the Sudanese rebel group, the Rapid Support Force, a person named Mohammed Hamdan Hamediti Degalo, met President Cyril Ramphosa in Pretoria.
00:56:54.000 Who exactly is Hamediti?
00:56:56.000 Hamediti is a person who recently led an incredible massacre in Sudan.
00:57:02.000 I mean, that, by the way, is according to Reuters.
00:57:06.000 The burials at Al-Khabat Cemetery continued for more than seven weeks from late April until mid-June in Sudan, turning a rectangular plot into a sprawling mass grave for at least 1,000 residents of a Sudanese city in West Darfur.
00:57:17.000 The carnage was the result of more than 50 days of attacks on the city's majority ethnic African tribe by Sudan's rapid support forces.
00:57:24.000 So South Africa says Israel's engaged in a genocide while they defend themselves.
00:57:27.000 Meanwhile, literally hosting genocidal murderers in South Africa, because that's how international law works.
00:57:33.000 And the Biden administration is still incredibly trying to cater to the bad guys.
00:57:39.000 This presumably is why Secretary of State Antony Blinken was meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, an actual Holocaust denier and the head of the Palestinian Authority.
00:57:48.000 Hilarious.
00:57:49.000 I mean, it is amazing that the Biden administration is continuing to try to prop up Mahmoud Abbas as a solution in the Gaza Strip.
00:57:55.000 He's not even a solution in the West Bank.
00:57:57.000 Mahmoud Abbas does not run the West Bank.
00:57:59.000 The West Bank is in a state of turmoil because the Palestinian Authority is deeply unpopular.
00:58:03.000 Hamas is way more popular in the West Bank than Abbas.
00:58:06.000 Abbas does not have the authority to even keep a lid on things in the West Bank, which is why you are seeing Israeli operations in the West Bank on a continuous basis against members and affiliates of Hamas.
00:58:16.000 But the United States, being completely delusional under Joe Biden, has decided the Mahmoud Abbas is somehow the magic solution, the magic bullet, with regard to the Gaza Strip.
00:58:25.000 And the United States is saying that the only path forward for the Gaza Strip is if Israel creates a Palestinian state.
00:58:31.000 Under whose auspices?
00:58:32.000 So let me just get this logic.
00:58:34.000 Israel withdraws from a piece of territory in 2005.
00:58:36.000 They hand it over to the Palestinians.
00:58:38.000 The Palestinians promptly wreck every piece of Jewish infrastructure.
00:58:41.000 They promptly elect Hamas, an actual genocidal terrorist group, as their leaders.
00:58:45.000 That terrorist group spends the next 20 years building up a massive stockpile of weaponry, rockets, building enormous terror tunnels.
00:58:53.000 They launched the single deadliest attack on Jews since World War II.
00:58:57.000 And the administration's response is that Israel should create a Palestinian state.
00:59:00.000 So the last time they tried this was 2005, and it ended really, really poorly.
00:59:06.000 The solution is not Mahmoud Abbas.
00:59:07.000 And this is all delusional garbage.
00:59:08.000 It's all delusional garbage because this administration does not actually have a clear picture of how the Middle East works.
00:59:14.000 By the way, at this point, I just want to shout out to John Fetterman.
00:59:17.000 John Fetterman is having like a reverse Bullworth, as my friend John Podhoretz has said.
00:59:21.000 It's an amazing thing.
00:59:23.000 Here is John Fetterman, yesterday speaking, and he was asked about the ICJ in South Africa prosecuting Israel at the Hague.
00:59:30.000 And here he was going off.
00:59:31.000 I mean, I don't know what happened to John Fetterman, but it's like incredible.
00:59:36.000 Who are they really fighting?
00:59:39.000 It's a group of cowards.
00:59:41.000 They hide in tunnels.
00:59:44.000 They hide behind civilians.
00:59:47.000 They attack, kill, and mutilate children, women.
00:59:52.000 And they do that?
00:59:54.000 Stop talking about proportion on that.
00:59:57.000 They shot their best shot on October 7th.
01:00:00.000 And they would have taken more lives if they couldn't do that.
01:00:03.000 But they couldn't do it.
01:00:05.000 And now let's also talk about that.
01:00:06.000 Now we're talking about genocide.
01:00:08.000 And now South Africa is now bringing that kind of a trial.
01:00:13.000 Maybe South Africa being able to sit this one out when they're talking about criticizing.
01:00:16.000 Absolutely correct by John Fetterman.
01:00:24.000 Again, words that have been spoken a lot lately, and I'm not even sure what is going on with it.
01:00:28.000 It's pretty amazing.
01:00:29.000 Alrighty, folks.
01:00:29.000 The rest of the show is continuing right now.
01:00:31.000 We're going to get to California, which apparently is thinking about a wealth tax now.
01:00:35.000 If you're not a member, become a member.
