00:00:00.000 A new white supremacist terror attack targets Jews in San Diego, the New York Times reveals its full anti-Semitic bias, and the media rush to defend Ilhan Omar.
00:00:09.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:09.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:11.000 All right, we've got a lot to get to today.
00:00:17.000 None of it particularly happy news, unfortunately.
00:00:20.000 It was a pretty brutal weekend for the country.
00:00:22.000 We'll get to all that in just a second.
00:00:24.000 First, in 2008, the U.S.
00:00:25.000 national debt was $10 trillion.
00:00:27.000 Today, the debt is nearly $22 trillion.
00:00:29.000 It is rising like a hockey stick.
00:00:30.000 If you do not think that we are sitting on a house of cards, you're living with your head in the sand.
00:00:34.000 But since you're listening to my podcast, you are smarter than the average bear.
00:00:37.000 So what is your plan?
00:00:38.000 Can you afford another hit to your retirement like the last downturn when the S&P dropped 50%?
00:00:42.000 It's worthwhile to hedge at least a little bit against inflation and uncertainty and instability with precious metals.
00:00:48.000 Gold is a safe haven against uncertainty.
00:00:50.000 My savings plan is diversified.
00:00:51.000 Yours should be as well.
00:00:53.000 The company I trust with precious metal purchases is Birch Gold Group.
00:00:56.000 And right now, thanks to a little-known IRS tax law, you can even move that IRA or eligible 401k into an IRA backed by physical gold and silver, which is perfect for people who may want to protect their hard-earned retirement savings from any future geopolitical uncertainty.
00:01:09.000 Look back historically, when the bottom falls out of everything else, gold does tend to safeguard savings.
00:01:13.000 Birch Gold Group has thousands of satisfied customers, countless five-star reviews, an A-plus rating from the Better Business Bureau.
00:01:18.000 Contact Birch Gold Group right now.
00:01:20.000 Get a free information kit on physical precious metals.
00:01:22.000 See if diversifying into gold and silver makes sense for you.
00:01:25.000 This comprehensive 16-page kit reveals how gold and silver can protect your savings.
00:01:29.000 To get that no-cost, no-obligation kit, text ben to 47 47 47 that is ben to 47 47 47 again text ben to 47 47 47 so over the weekend on shabbat on saturday it was the last day of passover and on the last day of passover a white supremacist gunman entered a shul entered a synagogue a chabad in powe which is about 45 minutes north of san
00:01:58.000 diego i I know that it's close to San Diego because I was actually staying in San Diego for the holidays, so I was relatively close to this happening.
00:02:05.000 The gunman entered the synagogue on Saturday.
00:02:08.000 He was yelling anti-Semitic slurs, and then he opened fire with an AR-15 style gun, says the New York Times.
00:02:14.000 We still don't know whether it was an actual AR-15 or if it was merely A semi-automatic rifle.
00:02:18.000 He apparently paused when the rabbi of the congregation tried to talk to him, but then he fired again and he shot the rabbi in the hand twice.
00:02:24.000 Apparently he shot him in both hands.
00:02:26.000 The rabbi has lost one of his finger.
00:02:28.000 His attack left a 60-year-old woman dead.
00:02:30.000 The rabbi wounded a 34-year-old man and a girl with shrapnel wounds.
00:02:35.000 This was, of course, the last day, as I mentioned, of Passover.
00:02:39.000 This was obviously a hate crime.
00:02:40.000 The gunman was identified as a 19-year-old resident of San Diego.
00:02:44.000 He did leave another one of these terrible manifestos.
00:02:48.000 As I say, I'm not going to mention the name of the shooter on the show because I don't mention the name of mass shooters on shows because I don't want to give them publicity.
00:02:54.000 Nor am I going to read his manifesto on air.
00:02:56.000 Suffice it to say, it is a typical white supremacist screed about the replacement of European peoples by Jews.
00:03:03.000 It also suggests hatred of President Trump.
00:03:06.000 I mean, there's a good deal in there about how President Trump, at least several lines in there, about how President Trump is a pawn of the Jews, a tool of the Jews.
00:03:13.000 Apparently, this manifesto was posted early On 8chan.
00:03:19.000 8chan is the even more neo-nazi, anti-semitic version of 4chan.
00:03:23.000 4chan is sort of a lot of trolls, some of whom have alt-right ties.
00:03:27.000 8chan is like the worst of the worst.
00:03:29.000 And his manifesto sounds a lot like the other manifesto from the guy in Christchurch, the piece of crap in Christchurch, New Zealand, who shot up the mosque.
00:03:39.000 President Trump offered his sympathies from Washington.
00:03:42.000 He said our entire nation mourns the loss of life, prays for the wounded, stands in solidarity with the Jewish community.
00:03:47.000 We forcefully condemn the evil of anti-Semitism and hate, which must be defeated.
00:03:52.000 Here was President Trump responding to the attack in Poway.
00:03:56.000 Our entire nation mourns the loss of life, prays for the wounded, and stands in solidarity with the Jewish community.
00:04:06.000 We forcefully condemn the evil of anti-Semitism and hate, Which must be defeated.
00:04:13.000 Just happened.
00:04:14.000 And President Trump has spoken out routinely against anti-Semitism for all of the talk about President Trump going soft on the alt-right at Charlottesville.
00:04:24.000 Some of which I think is true.
00:04:25.000 His initial statement, for example, he did not condemn white supremacy or the alt-right at Charlottesville.
00:04:30.000 And then his follow up statement, he condemned neo-Nazism.
00:04:32.000 He condemned white supremacy by name.
00:04:34.000 But he also suggested that there were people at the white supremacist march who were good people, very fine people on both sides.
00:04:39.000 That was the controversy over that statement.
00:04:42.000 His entire remarks for the record on that, and this will become relevant when we discuss in a second, the ramifications of this attack and the left's attacks on Trump.
00:04:52.000 President Trump's full statement when it came to the Charlottesville situation, which has become sort of the point of the spear for the attacks by the left on President Trump when it comes to anti-Semitic attacks.
00:05:04.000 President Trump said, all of those people I've condemned neo-Nazis.
00:05:07.000 I've condemned many different groups.
00:05:09.000 Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me.
00:05:11.000 Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch.
00:05:13.000 Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue, Robert E. Lee.
00:05:19.000 He said, I think there's blame on both sides.
00:05:21.000 You look at both sides.
00:05:21.000 I think there's blame objectively on both sides.
00:05:25.000 I have no doubt about it.
00:05:26.000 You don't have to doubt about it either.
00:05:27.000 If you report it accurately, you would say that the neo-Nazis started this thing.
00:05:30.000 They showed up in Charlottesville.
00:05:31.000 Excuse me.
00:05:32.000 They didn't put themselves down as neo-Nazis.
00:05:34.000 You had some very bad people in that group.
00:05:35.000 You also had some very fine people on both sides.
00:05:37.000 You had people in that group.
00:05:38.000 Excuse me.
00:05:39.000 Excuse me.
00:05:39.000 I saw the same pictures as you did.
00:05:41.000 You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.
00:05:49.000 And then he continued by saying you had people and I'm not talking about the neo-nazis and the white nationalists.
00:05:53.000 They should be condemned totally.
00:05:54.000 You had many people in that group other than neo-nazis and white nationalists.
00:05:57.000 The press has treated them absolutely unfairly.
00:06:00.000 Now in the other group you also had some fine people but you had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and the helmets and the baseball bats.
00:06:05.000 You had a lot of bad people in the other group too.
00:06:07.000 So to give the full context of what President Trump was saying, he did in fact condemn neo-nazism.
00:06:11.000 He did in fact condemn white nationalism.
00:06:14.000 He also Sort of made up this other group of people who were there at the protest, who were very fine people, and that's why people said he was being soft on the alt-right, because the only people there were alt-righters.
00:06:23.000 In any case, President Trump, every time there's been an anti-Semitic attack, has condemned it by name.
00:06:28.000 He's condemned it by name.
00:06:29.000 Now, the rabbi at this congregation is Rabbi Yisrael Goldstein.
00:06:33.000 For people who don't know the Chabad movement, the Chabad movement, which is, Chabad is an acronym for Chachma, Bina and Daas, all of which are aspects of knowing God.
00:06:43.000 Chachma is wisdom, Bina is understanding, and Daas is knowledge.
00:06:47.000 So Chabad movement is a very spiritual movement.
00:06:50.000 It was driven by Lubavitcher Rebbe for many years.
00:06:53.000 The Chabad movement is well-known for going to, basically, random places all over the world to provide outreach to Jews who are in those parts of the world.
00:07:02.000 It is the most front-facing part of Jewish orthodoxy.
00:07:06.000 I have a lot of friends in the Chabad movement, I know many of the rabbis in the Chabad movement, most of the top people in the Chabad movement.
00:07:11.000 Every place I go, Chabad is there.
00:07:13.000 I used to joke that if Jews were to land on the moon, then Chabad would already be there.
00:07:19.000 I mean, Chabad is everywhere.
00:07:21.000 And they are very front-facing.
00:07:22.000 They are extraordinarily welcoming.
00:07:24.000 They do a great job of bringing in diverse groups of people.
00:07:28.000 The fact that they are very good at doing outreach and bringing in diverse groups of people might be why more people are alive today as opposed to dead in Poway.
00:07:34.000 Here's Rabbi Yisrael Goldstein speaking from the hospital about what happened.
00:07:38.000 Shalom, Rabbi Yisrael Goldstein here from Chabad at Poway.
00:07:43.000 It's not even 24 hours since the unthinkable, unfathomable, Terrorist attack occurred at Chabad of Poway.
00:07:52.000 I'm encouraging and I'm pleading with every single Jew that sees this appeal.
00:07:57.000 This weekend, go to your own prospective synagogues.
00:08:00.000 Fill up the ballrooms.
00:08:01.000 Fill up the sanctuaries.
00:08:03.000 Let them see that nothing will take us down and we all need to stand together, hold hands together, love each other just like the Rebbe taught us.
00:08:10.000 Unconditional love.
00:08:12.000 That a little bit of light pushes away darkness.
00:08:15.000 Okay, and this guy has to be shot by this anti-Semite.
00:08:18.000 And he was not the person who was killed.
00:08:19.000 The person, obviously, who was killed was a 60-year-old woman who apparently was shot pretty much straight away.
00:08:26.000 There were reports also that she had pushed herself in front of the rabbis, that the rabbi would not be shot.
00:08:31.000 Those, at this point, I believe, are more rumor than confirmed.
00:08:34.000 In any case, here is Yisrael Goldstein speaking further from the Poway Chabad the day after the shooting.
00:08:39.000 And you can see his hands are bandaged because he lost a finger in this attack.
00:08:43.000 Yesterday, this horrific, terrible event that has occurred here.
00:08:47.000 In my own interpretation, Lori took the bullet for all of us.
00:08:52.000 She died to protect all of us.
00:08:55.000 She didn't deserve to die.
00:08:57.000 She's such a kind, sweet-hearted, just a good human being.
00:09:02.000 She didn't deserve to die right in front of my eyes.
00:09:05.000 I was the last one to see her and to be with her.
00:09:09.000 But I do know that this is Lori, this is her legacy, and her legacy will continue.
00:09:16.000 Okay, so it is also worth noting here that attendance at the synagogue was slightly larger than usual because of the holiday.
00:09:22.000 Many of the older congregants were there because of Yizkor.
00:09:24.000 Yizkor is a memorial prayer that the Jews do on the last day of Passover, and so a lot of the older congregants were there specifically to say Yizkor for relatives who had passed away.
00:09:33.000 One of the people who was there was a guy named Oscar Stewart.
00:09:36.000 Oscar Stewart is a border patrol agent who has recently rediscovered his Jewish roots.
00:09:42.000 This is what Chabad is great for.
00:09:43.000 And he had spent three and a half hours, apparently, every Saturday driving all the way to Poway from the border so that he could pray at the synagogue.
00:09:51.000 And apparently when he heard the shots ring out, his training from his years in the military kicked in.
00:09:56.000 He said, I yelled as loud as I could in my mean sergeant voice.
00:09:58.000 I yelled, get down.
00:09:59.000 And then I ran toward him.
00:10:00.000 He said that the gunman then fled because he was a coward.
00:10:04.000 And meanwhile, the rabbi ran into a room where a bunch of kids were stationed and he told everybody to get out.
00:10:11.000 One of the people who picked up, there were a bunch of people there, one of the people who was there was a 34-year-old Israeli who was actually coming from Sderot.
00:10:21.000 Sderot is the town in Israel that has been under significant rocket fire from Hamas.
00:10:25.000 So he moved from anti-semitic attacks in Israel from Hamas to anti-semitic attacks in Poway from a white supremacist.
00:10:30.000 He picked up his niece and he started to run.
00:10:32.000 He was wounded.
00:10:33.000 His eight-year-old niece was wounded as well.
00:10:36.000 So here is the eight-year-old niece explaining what exactly happened.
00:10:40.000 So you got hit with shrapnel?
00:10:43.000 Little pieces?
00:10:44.000 So the piece of shrapnel went in your leg and then came out the other side?
00:10:48.000 What were you thinking then?
00:10:51.000 This was like a pretty big piece, and then it went back here.
00:10:55.000 - So the piece of shrapnel went in your leg and then came out the other side?
00:10:58.000 - Yeah.
00:10:59.000 - What were you thinking then?
00:11:00.000 Did it hurt? - In the first place when it was like gushing blood, I didn't even feel it.
00:11:07.000 And then after, like, they wiped it, and then, like, the blood was off, and it was, like, it felt like I had the giantest bruise ever.
00:11:17.000 Okay, this would be eight-year-old Noya Dahan, and her uncle is Almog Peretz, who is the guy who picked her up and ran with her.
00:11:23.000 In a second, I'm going to explain why it was deeply important that this Border Patrol agent was there, and why, once again, a good guy with a gun is the only person who is capable of stopping a bad guy with a gun when something like this happens.

00:12:50.000 Okay, so the guy who was the off-duty police officer, off-duty U.S.
00:12:54.000 Customs and Border Patrol agent, was named Jonathan Morales.
00:12:58.000 He was among the worshipers, and he had been asked by the rabbi to bring his gun to services, because Jews all across the United States are understanding that there is a significant threat In my synagogue, there are many armed people at my synagogue.
00:13:12.000 We have security guards at my synagogue.
00:13:13.000 This is true for every synagogue in my area.
00:13:15.000 That's because Jews across the country understand that there is a threat of terror, both from radical Muslims and from white supremacists as well.
00:13:23.000 Well, this particular, the rabbi said that Morales recently rediscovered his Jewish roots.
00:13:28.000 He would travel three and a half hours from El Centro to pray with us at our shul.
00:13:33.000 He felt this was his house of worship, and many times I said, Jonathan, you work for the Border Patrol.
00:13:37.000 Please arm yourself when you are here.
00:13:38.000 We never know when we'll need it.
00:13:41.000 Well, this would have been the time that they needed it, and thank God that the guy was there, and thank God that he was armed.
00:13:46.000 Because he was there, because he was armed, the shooter's gun jammed, and then the combat veteran who came charging, and then there were two combat veterans, I guess.
00:13:54.000 There was one named Oscar Stewart, who was charging at him and yelling at him.
00:14:00.000 He said, get down, and then he said, you MF-er, I'm gonna kill you.
00:14:04.000 And he started, he didn't, this is not the guy with the gun apparently.
00:14:07.000 He was an Iraq combat veteran and he just ran directly at the guy without a gun.
00:14:10.000 He said, I knew I had to be within five feet of this guy so his rifle couldn't get to me.
00:14:13.000 I ran immediately toward him.
00:14:14.000 I yelled as loud as I could.
00:14:15.000 He was scared.
00:14:16.000 I was scared the hell out of him.
00:14:17.000 Also, there was another guy, a border patrol agent named Jonathan Morales.
00:14:21.000 And Jonathan Morales had a gun.
00:14:23.000 So, thank God.
00:14:24.000 Combat veteran, thank God for our combat veterans.
00:14:26.000 And thank God also for people who are armed in places of worship.
00:14:32.000 So that's, you know, when people say it's time to disarm civilians as though that's going to protect other civilians, it's foolishness.
00:14:43.000 Now in a second, I'll explain what exactly has been happening on places like 8chan.
00:14:49.000 So 8chan is the is the place where these shooters have basically been congregating.
00:14:53.000 We're seeing an increase in the number of these attacks.
00:14:54.000 One of the reasons we're seeing that increase is because it used to be that the world's worst human beings were located in sort of disparate areas of the country with no people cheering them on.
00:15:04.000 These online forums, these online fora, they create An echo chamber where people feel like they're playing to a crowd of people who will be cheering for them.
00:15:13.000 Robert Evans has a piece over at Bellingcat.com talking about 8chan, and it is worthwhile discussing it for just a second.
00:15:20.000 He says, On April 27, 2019, at around 11.30am local time, a young man with a semi-automatic rifle walked into the Chabad of Poway Synagogue in Poway, California.
00:15:29.000 He opened fire, killing one worshipper, wounding three others.
00:15:31.000 In the hour since the shooting, a manifesto believed to be written by that shooter began circulating online.
00:15:36.000 Evidence has also surfaced That like the Christchurch mosque shooter, this killer began his rampage with a post on 8chan's politics board.
00:15:43.000 Although both of these attacks may seem different, since they targeted worshippers of different faiths, both shooters were united by the same fascist ideology.
00:15:49.000 They were also radicalized in the same place, 8chan's politics board.
00:15:53.000 This has been corroborated by posts on the board itself, where Anons, as the posters call themselves, the anonymous posters, recirculated the shooter's since-deleted post.
00:16:01.000 In it, the alleged shooter claims to have been lurking on the site for a year and a half.
00:16:04.000 He includes a link to a live stream of his rampage, which thankfully does not appear to have worked.
00:16:09.000 He also included a Pastebin link to his manifesto.
00:16:13.000 The very first response to his announcement was another anonymous person cheering him on and telling him to get the high score, aka kill a huge number of people.
00:16:21.000 This shooter's manifesto is also filled with bleep posting, which are internet in-jokes meant to distract authorities and the media and make 8chan's politics board seem less threatening and more jokey.
00:16:30.000 The fact that this is the second politics board-related shooting in the House of Worship in slightly more than a month should be enough to explain that this is false.
00:16:38.000 HN apparently is a large website, includes a number of different discussion boards about everything from anime to left-wing politics.
00:16:44.000 Politics is one particularly active board on the website.
00:16:46.000 It is best described as a gathering place for extremely online neo-Nazis.
00:16:50.000 The overarching goal of politics, held by most of its members, is to radicalize their fellow Anons to real-life effort posting, i.e.
00:16:57.000 acts of violence in the physical world.
00:16:59.000 This goal is well embodied by a post I found in a discussion of the Poway Synagogue shooting.
00:17:03.000 In which there's a picture of a person kind of walking around looking like a doofus before politics and after politics.
00:17:10.000 Or there's a picture of a shooter in black gear with a rifle.
00:17:16.000 This writer says, I've browsed the Politics Board on an almost daily basis since the Christchurch shooting.
00:17:20.000 It has not been difficult to find calls for violence.
00:17:22.000 On Monday, March 15th, March 25th of this year, I ran across evidence of Anons translating the Christchurch shooter's manifesto into other languages in an attempt to inspire more shootings across the globe.
00:17:32.000 The tactic can work.
00:17:33.000 Today's shooting is proof.
00:17:34.000 The Poway Synagogue shooter directly cited the Christchurch shooter as his inspiration, saying he decided to carry out his attack roughly two weeks after that shooting.
00:17:42.000 Many of the Anons referred to the Christchurch shooter as a saint, complete with medieval-inspired iconography.
00:17:48.000 As I say, there's no way to shut down free speech, but if the authorities are not monitoring 8chan for this sort of stuff, I don't know what the hell they're doing.
00:17:56.000 People in the know have known this stuff for long before Christchurch happened.
00:18:00.000 I was being harassed by people on 4chan and 8chan for years before any of this stuff happened, obviously.
00:18:05.000 It's one of the reasons I have full-time security.
00:18:08.000 The fact that these... the fact that People are only going to pick up on this now is obviously quite disturbing.
00:18:14.000 It's also true that the Internet can be a place where the worst of us congregate.
00:18:20.000 The Internet can be a great place for spreading of information.
00:18:22.000 It can be a wonderful place for spreading of charitable do-gooderism.
00:18:25.000 It can be a wonderful place for exchange of ideas and for prevention of monopolies on ideas.
00:18:30.000 But it can also be a place where terrible, terrible people can find other like-minded terrible, terrible people to cheer them on when they do these awful things.
00:18:40.000 It's worth noting that there are these places online where these folks congregate and these folks, sometimes their evil speech turns into evil action.
00:18:48.000 Now as I say, that does not mean that you can, in any good conscience, shut down free speech in the United States to stop this sort of stuff.
00:18:57.000 But, you certainly have to have the authorities aware when people are making violent threats and violent imprecations.
00:19:02.000 There are people on our staff who in the last several months have been targeted.
00:19:06.000 So I'm very well aware of all of this.
00:19:08.000 I've been aware of this for years, and I think that the police are and should be aware of this on an increasing basis.
00:19:13.000 Meanwhile, the media reacted to the Poway synagogue shooting by blaming President Trump, as you knew they would.
00:19:19.000 It is really horrific and awful that they would do so.
00:19:22.000 It is horrific and awful for a couple of reasons.
00:19:24.000 First of all, President Trump has been quite strong on anti-Semitism.
00:19:27.000 He has.
00:19:28.000 All of his statements on antisemitism have been far more blunt and far more purposeful than anything Democrats have been saying about antisemitism for years.
00:19:34.000 That's because Democrats have been protecting antisemites inside their own party.
00:19:38.000 Republicans have not.
00:19:39.000 Now, President Trump, as I criticized him for at the time, was terrible with regard to the alt-right in 2015-2016.
00:19:46.000 Go back and listen to my episodes after Charlottesville.
00:19:48.000 Go back and listen to my episodes during the 2016 election cycle.
00:19:51.000 He winked and nodded at people he thought was being nice to him, were being nice to him, and that was a terrible, terrible thing to do.
00:19:58.000 But when it comes to anti-semitism, President Trump has spoken out repeatedly against anti-semitism.
00:20:04.000 I guarantee you that everyone, virtually everyone, who was in the show that was just shot up was a President Trump voter.
00:20:10.000 This is an orthodox community.
00:20:11.000 I guarantee you that everyone that you'll... Chabad tends to be extremely pro-Trump.
00:20:16.000 Okay, so the idea that Trump is responsible for this, especially because in the manifesto itself, this person explicitly derides Trump as a tool of the Jews.
00:20:26.000 Trump is not behind this.
00:20:28.000 Now Trump may have contributed to the alt-right gaining increased credibility in 2015-2016.
00:20:35.000 Maybe in early 2017.
00:20:35.000 That has not held true since then.
00:20:39.000 That was bad.
00:20:40.000 That has not held true since then.
00:20:42.000 So to blame President Trump for all of this is just absurdism of the highest order, and yet what you have seen is the media doing exactly that.
00:20:49.000 Here's a CNN panel saying they didn't believe President Trump when President Trump condemns anti-Semitism, even despite the fact that President Trump has Jewish grandchildren, despite the fact that President Trump is the most pro-Israel president in the history of the United States, despite the fact that President Trump has forcefully spoken out against anti-Semitism repeatedly and condemned it from other people.
00:21:06.000 Still, the media pretend that President Trump is responsible for this.
00:21:09.000 Here's a CNN panel saying they don't believe Trump. - On one hand, you wanna give the president his due.
00:21:15.000 But when you consider the language that we have been discussing over the last couple of days, especially with Joe Biden getting into the race, what the president has said, making excuses, revisionist history about what happened in Charlottesville and on and on.
00:21:29.000 One has to wonder as a thinking, rational person, if he means those words and if they ring hollow to Americans who have been looking for him to say those things and stay the course As Angel has said, instead of trafficking in bigotry, in racism, in anti-Semitism, in hate, and making excuses for it.
00:21:55.000 Okay, so again, this is the media over-reading, and over-reading for a particular political purpose.
00:21:59.000 In a second, I will show you how they've been doing this routinely, and then I will get to the media themselves, and who exactly is promoting anti-Semitism.
00:22:06.000 Okay, we'll get to that in just a second.
00:22:07.000 First, vitamins and supplements can be kind of confusing.
00:22:09.000 then you can't be trusted to call it out anywhere.
00:22:12.000 Okay, we'll get to that in just a second.
00:22:14.000 First, vitamins and supplements can be kind of confusing.
00:22:16.000 Persona takes the guesswork out of it.
00:22:18.000 One of our employees here at The Daily Wire, Jared, he takes Persona vitamins in the morning and in the evening.
00:22:22.000 He filled out their online assessment.
00:22:23.000 He indicated he wanted the vegetarian formula.
00:22:25.000 Some of the personalized supplements in his order include green tea extract for energy support, digestive enzymes as part of the happy gut formula, The packaging it comes in is sleek, simple, and innovative.
00:22:35.000 There are separate packs for each morning and each evening, so you know exactly what you need to take each and every day.
00:22:40.000 Here's how you can get started.
00:22:41.000 Take a three to five minute assessment and find out exactly what you need.
00:22:44.000 And then you get recommendations based on your goals, lifestyle, allergies, special diets, and prescription meds.

00:23:01.000 They are tested again before they are shipped to make sure they contain the right amount of ingredients.
00:23:05.000 You can certainly find cheaper vitamins, but you'd have to pay 30% more to get the same quality in a bottled vitamin.

00:23:24.000 Jared loves it.
00:23:25.000 You will too.
00:23:26.000 Right now, whether you want to sleep better, have more energy, or simply stay as young as you can, my listeners can go to PersonaNutrition.com slash Ben.
00:23:33.000 That's P-E-R-S-O-N-A nutrition.com slash Shapiro and get 50% off your order today.
00:23:39.000 That's persona nutrition.com slash Shapiro.
00:23:42.000 It's five minutes that can change your health right now.
00:23:44.000 Persona nutrition.com slash Shapiro really takes just a second and you can make your health a lot better.
00:23:48.000 Go check it out right now.
00:23:49.000 So the media's response to Poway is naturally to do two things.
00:23:52.000 Blame Trump and blame guns.
00:23:54.000 Shocker.
00:23:55.000 They're always going to blame guns, even though a gun probably stops this attack from being significantly worse.
00:24:00.000 And they're going to blame Trump because it fits in with their general thesis, which is that all hatred can be relegated to one side of the political aisle.
00:24:07.000 It can all be relegated to President Trump.
00:24:10.000 That is a politically convenient answer that is obviously not correct.
00:24:14.000 President Trump is not an anti-Semite.
00:24:17.000 The best thing you can say about President Trump if you're on the left, the most damaging thing you can say about President Trump if you're on the left, is that President Trump winked and nodded at the alt-right in 2015, 2016, 2017.
00:24:26.000 That was really bad.
00:24:27.000 Again, I was there condemning it.
00:24:29.000 That is not what happened here.
00:24:30.000 What happened here is that this shooter, and white supremacists everywhere, We are so far beyond dog whistles here, Donald.
00:24:36.000 We are so far beyond dog whistles.
00:24:38.000 he is too philo-Semitic rather than that he is cheering on their anti-Semitism.
00:24:42.000 And yet the media are trotting out this lie that Trump is somehow responsible for the Poway Synagogue shooting, despite the fact that nobody at Poway Synagogue, nobody in the Orthodox community actually thinks this.
00:24:53.000 Here is Joe Scarborough mouthing these words.
00:24:56.000 We are so far beyond dog whistles here, Donald.
00:24:59.000 We are so far beyond dog whistles.
00:25:02.000 The blood, the blood that is spilled is on your hands.
00:25:07.000 Thank you.
00:25:08.000 From white nationalists, from people that listen to that sort of rhetoric, any violence to journalists, enemy of the people, you are just inciting violence.
00:25:19.000 It's just, it's just obvious.
00:25:22.000 You are unfit to be president of the United States.
00:25:25.000 Okay, so he's going to need to cite what exactly Trump did that was responsible for this shooting.
00:25:31.000 They keep saying things like Trump is inciting violence.
00:25:33.000 So, according to Joe Scarborough, Trump incited violence with what exactly?
00:25:37.000 With what exactly?
00:25:37.000 Like, what did he do to incite violence?
00:25:39.000 Again, I condemned all of his comments surrounding Charlottesville, and with regard to the KKK in 2016, and with regard to Steve B— Like, I condemned all that stuff.
00:25:47.000 I continue to condemn all that stuff.
00:25:49.000 Trump hasn't done that stuff, at least in the last couple of years, and he's been extraordinarily philosomatic in both practice and policy.
00:25:57.000 So what exactly is Joe Scarborough talking about?
00:25:59.000 And yet the media continue to trot this stuff out.
00:26:01.000 Not just the media, members of the Democratic Party.
00:26:03.000 So you see, for example, Waleed Shaheed, who is an advisor to Bernie Sanders, and who happens to be a member of the Justice Democrats, blaming Trump for all of this, despite the fact that, as we will see in a second, the Democratic Party has been significantly promoting anti-Semitism openly.
00:26:18.000 And so have the media, for a while here.
00:26:21.000 I mean, amongst my Jewish friends, amongst people pouring out on social media, I think people just felt really sick to their stomach about this attack.
00:26:28.000 And just sick to their stomach about the way that the president continues to be unable to respond in the kind of way the leader of the country should be able to respond.
00:26:36.000 The conspiracy theories cited by these neo-Nazis in Pittsburgh and New Zealand and now outside San Diego are all really, they all say the same thing, which is that this crazy story about how somehow Jews are letting in immigrants into this country, which is You know, similar to what Republicans ran on in 2018 saying that George Soros was supporting and funding the migrant caravan, a conspiracy theory that Trump never condemned and actually seemed to support when asked about it.
00:27:03.000 Okay, again, this is just, it's just amazing.
00:27:06.000 So you have Democrats in the media blaming President Trump for a shooting that doesn't have to do with President Trump.
00:27:11.000 At the exact same time, at the exact same time, the members of the media who are condemning this sort of stuff, where are their words for the anti-Semitism of the Democratic Party?
00:27:21.000 Here's the thing, if you're going to call out anti-Semitism, it is actually incumbent on you to call it out whenever you see it.
00:27:25.000 It is incumbent on you to call it out on all sides, just as you would call out racism.
00:27:29.000 On all sides.
00:27:30.000 If, for you, antisemitism is merely a way to club Ilhan Omar, but you don't really care about it when it comes from white supremacists, or if, alternatively, antisemitism is a way to condemn white supremacists, but you don't care about it when it comes from Ilhan Omar, or it's a way to condemn Trump, but you don't care about it when it comes from the radical left, then I don't trust you on antisemitism, and neither should anyone else.
00:27:50.000 I'm not going to trust the New York Times' take on President Trump and anti-Semitism when they are printing cartoons like this.
00:27:55.000 So Thursday, a day and a half, or Friday, the day before, it was Friday I believe, the day before the shooting happened at Poway, the New York Times International Edition printed this cartoon of President Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
00:28:09.000 For those who can't see, the cartoon is viciously der Sturmer anti-Semitic.
00:28:13.000 I mean it is straight from the pages of Nazi newspapers.
00:28:15.000 Straight from those pages.
00:28:17.000 It is a picture of Benjamin Netanyahu, his face pasted onto that of a wiener dog, with a Jewish star hanging from his collar, and President Trump being led around like a blind man by Bibi as a dog, President Trump fat, wearing a kippah, and wearing black glasses because he's being led on a leash by Bibi Netanyahu, the Jewish dog, with the Jewish star hanging from his collar.
00:28:42.000 This was printed in the New York Times International Edition.
00:28:45.000 Now, a lot of people have been saying, well, people on the right, they're very upset about the cartoon.
00:28:48.000 Why aren't they upset about the shooting?
00:28:50.000 I am upset about both.
00:28:52.000 Here is something to note.
00:28:53.000 These shootings have been occurring on a sporadic basis against Jews my entire lifetime.
00:28:58.000 I can name a dozen of them off the top of my head, including some in my own community.
00:29:01.000 There was one at the West Valley JCC back when I was a kid in 1999, I believe it was.
00:29:07.000 There have been attempted killings of Jews in my city.
00:29:11.000 More relevant recently, obviously.
00:29:16.000 It is a different thing for mainstream American publications to print full-on Nazi cartoons.
00:29:21.000 The mainstreaming of anti-Semitism on the left is not the same as the mainstreaming of the anti-Semitism on the right.
00:29:26.000 So what the left is trying to say is that President Trump has mainstreamed anti-Semitism because he winked and nodded at the alt-right from 2015 through 2017.
00:29:34.000 Okay, he did not mainstream anti-semitism among Republicans, which is why 78% of Republicans say they are sympathetic to the state of Israel.
00:29:41.000 It's why Republicans by and large are far more philo-semitic than the far left is.
00:29:46.000 It's why Republicans have been condemning Ilhan Omar.
00:29:49.000 The New York Times is the linchpin of democratic media, of left-leaning media in the United States.
00:29:55.000 It is the mainstream newspaper in the United States, and in their international edition, they are printing cartoons that are straight from the pages of Der Sturmer.
00:30:02.000 They are printing cartoons that are straight from the pages of the Nazi-esque Palestinian newspapers.
00:30:06.000 I mean, these are Nazi cartoons, and they are printing those.
00:30:09.000 So, am I upset about that?
00:30:11.000 Yeah, because it speaks to the mainstreaming of anti-Semitism inside the left.
00:30:17.000 Now, in a second, I will show you how the New York Times, they apologized, but I'll show you in a second how the New York Times should have known better.
00:30:22.000 And then the New York Times printed another anti-Semitic cartoon today.
00:30:26.000 Another one.
00:30:27.000 It's amazing.
00:30:28.000 Like, you know why?
00:30:29.000 Because the anti-Zionism and extreme leftism.
00:30:32.000 Of the people on the left have allowed them to mainstream antisemitism in a pretty vicious way.
00:30:37.000 We'll get to that in just a second.
00:30:38.000 First, let's talk about making your neighborhood safer.

00:32:44.000 So make sure that we are number one.
00:32:46.000 Okay, so what you're seeing from the media, as I say, is an attempt to blame President Trump for all of this.
00:33:03.000 Now, let me backtrack for a second.
00:33:05.000 There are three types of anti-Semitism that are deeply worrisome in today's day and age.
00:33:09.000 Type of anti-Semitism number one, white supremacist anti-Semitism.
00:33:12.000 This is what you are seeing White supremacist ideology, totally evil.
00:33:15.000 Now, has that been mainstreamed inside the right?
00:33:17.000 The left would like to suggest that it has.
00:33:18.000 supremacist ideology that ends with shootings at mosques, for example, in Christchurch.
00:33:23.000 The same person who committed the shooting in Poway apparently tried to burn down a mosque in the last several weeks in California as well.
00:33:30.000 So white supremacist ideology, totally evil.
00:33:32.000 Now, has that been mainstreamed inside the right?
00:33:34.000 The left would like to suggest that it has.
00:33:36.000 I see no serious evidence that it has.
00:33:39.000 Every mainstream Republican not only condemns this stuff, but outright hates it.
00:33:43.000 When people speak about this stuff in a positive way, they lose their committee assignments.
00:33:48.000 This would be Steve King.
00:33:49.000 Steve King has lost every committee assignment.
00:33:51.000 His primary opponent, Kevin Feenstra, whom you should give to, has been raising much, much more money than Steve King.
00:33:57.000 Republicans are not mainstreaming this stuff.
00:33:59.000 Now, then there's left-wing antisemitism.
00:34:02.000 Left-wing antisemitism is papered over with a thin veneer of anti-Zionism.
00:34:06.000 Basically, left-wing antisemitism says that because there are winners and losers in society and winners have inherently exploited the losers, Jews are too successful and therefore Jews can be held responsible for inequality in society.
00:34:20.000 This crosses paths with Islamic antisemitism, which also suggests that Jews are too successful and Jews are manipulating world events.
00:34:28.000 Then the words of Ilhan Omar, Israel has hypnotized the world or it's Jewish money behind American support for Israel.
00:34:33.000 That conspiratorial mindset meets paths with the intersectional left.
00:34:37.000 Now, which is being more mainstream?
00:34:39.000 White supremacy by the mainstream right, or Ilhan Omar-type anti-Semitism by the mainstream left?
00:34:45.000 Radical Islamic antisemitism is a serious threat to Jews in Israel.
00:34:48.000 As I mentioned, one of the people who was shot at Poway is from Sderot.
00:34:52.000 So he spends every day having rockets fired at him from the Gaza Strip by Jew haters in the Gaza Strip.
00:34:57.000 And then he comes to the United States and he gets shot at by a white supremacist.
00:35:01.000 All types of antisemitism are dangerous.
00:35:04.000 Not all types are equally dangerous in every place.
00:35:07.000 And not all types are equally well accepted by mainstream outlets.
00:35:12.000 So white supremacy is not a mainstream philosophy in the United States.
00:35:16.000 It just isn't.
00:35:18.000 Statistically speaking.
00:35:20.000 It is extremely dangerous.
00:35:22.000 They're the people I am most worried about being shot by.
00:35:25.000 They're very, very dangerous.
00:35:26.000 They're a small subgroup of people who are awful and who do violent, terrible things.
00:35:31.000 But as far as being mainstreamed as an ideology, there is no question that left-wing antisemitism, which starts off as, oh yeah, we're just criticizing Israel, and quickly morphs into No, Israel's an exploiter.
00:35:41.000 Israel is an apartheid state.
00:35:43.000 The only reason people support Israel is because of the nefarious power of the Jews.
00:35:47.000 We don't have to comment on anti-Semitism against Jews because they are not intersectionally put upon.
00:35:52.000 That left-wing anti-Semitism has become extraordinarily prominent, which is why you have the New York Times printing stuff from Nazi newspapers in the international edition.
00:36:01.000 And it's not like they didn't know who this cartoonist was.
00:36:03.000 His old cartoons are just as anti-Semitic.
00:36:06.000 Here's an old cartoon showing, it's a takeoff of the Warsaw Ghetto.
00:36:12.000 It's Holocaust Memorial Week this week, I believe.
00:36:16.000 This is a picture from the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.
00:36:19.000 Very famous picture, not even from the uprising, of Jews being herded onto trains, being held up by Nazis, except that this anti-Semitic artist has put keffiyehs on all of the Jews and made all of the Nazis into Israeli soldiers with a Jewish star helmet.
00:36:34.000 So this guy's an anti-Semite, and the International Edition just printed it.
00:36:38.000 The New York Times apologizes for all of this.
00:36:39.000 They said, We are deeply sorry for the publication of an anti-Semitic political cartoon last Thursday in the print edition of the New York Times that circulates outside of the United States.
00:36:47.000 We are committed to making sure nothing like this happens again.
00:36:49.000 Such imagery is always dangerous.
00:36:51.000 And at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise worldwide, it's all the more unacceptable.
00:36:55.000 We've investigated how this happened and learned that because of a faulty process, a single editor working without adequate oversight downloaded the syndicated cartoon and made the decision to include it on the opinion page so as one guy, we're looking into it, we'll stop it, we're sorry.
00:37:07.000 No.
00:37:07.000 This is deeper and more indicative of how the New York Times operates.
00:37:11.000 It's an anti-Semitic newspaper.
00:37:13.000 It's a newspaper that in its news coverage has openly admitted it did not cover hate crimes against Jews in New York City because it was not intersectional enough.
00:37:21.000 Brett Stevens writes a piece in the New York Times.
00:37:23.000 This is the New York Times' attempt to backtrack and paper over its own antisemitism.
00:37:31.000 They let Brett Stevens write there.
00:37:32.000 They say, the cartoon appeared in the print version of the International Edition.
00:37:35.000 The cartoon itself was selected and seen by just one mid-level editor right before the paper went to press, supposedly.
00:37:41.000 They say, the paper's position is that it is guilty of a serious screw-up, but not a cardinal sin.
00:37:46.000 Not quite, Brett Stevens says.
00:37:47.000 The problem with the cartoon isn't that its publication was a willful act of antisemitism.
00:37:52.000 The problem is that its publication was an astonishing act of ignorance of antisemitism, and that at a publication that is otherwise hyper-alert to nearly every conceivable expression of prejudice from mansplaining to racial microaggressions to transphobia.
00:38:04.000 Imagine if the dog on the leash hadn't been the Israeli Prime Minister, but a person of color such as John Lewis or a Muslim like Ilhan Omar.
00:38:11.000 Would that have gone unnoticed by the wire service?
00:38:14.000 And this raises a question, says Brett Stevens.
00:38:16.000 How have even the most blatant expressions of anti-Semitism become almost undetectable to editors who think it's part of their job to stand up to bigotry?
00:38:23.000 The reason is the almost torrential criticism of Israel and the mainstreaming of anti-Zionism, including by this paper, which has become so common that people have been desensitized to its inherent bigotry.
00:38:33.000 So long as anti-Semitic arguments or images are framed, however speciously, as commentary about Israel, there will be a tendency to view them as a form of political opinion, not ethnic prejudice.
00:38:42.000 But anti-zionism is all but indistinguishable from anti-semitism in practice, and often in intent, however much progressives try to deny this.
00:38:51.000 That is obviously true, which is why the New York Times can apologize for that.
00:38:54.000 And then within the next two days, prints this cartoon.
00:38:57.000 This cartoon is a cartoon of Benjamin Netanyahu descending from a mountain.
00:39:01.000 a la moses holding a selfie stick and holding behind him a tablet with the flag of the state of israel what the hell is that supposed to be well it turns out that the original cartoon was sanitized from the new york times the original cartoon is supposed to be bb walking down the mountain holding the tablets followed by donning donald trump holding the other tablets So in other words, it's the same thing.
00:39:24.000 Bibi, the nefarious Jew, is leading Donald Trump by the nose.
00:39:27.000 So in other words, the same people on the left who think it's fine to print that sort of crap and say that Bibi is leading Trump by the nose, a Jew is leading Trump by the nose, will say that Trump is anti-Semitic and responsible for this.
00:39:37.000 That's their hot take.
00:39:38.000 That's their hot take.
00:39:39.000 And then we're supposed to take them seriously.
00:39:41.000 Very seriously.
00:39:42.000 We'll get to the political left's reaction to this, particularly Ohana Marx.
00:39:46.000 It's very telling.
00:39:47.000 So, Bernie Sanders, you just saw Waleed Shaheed blame President Trump for what happened in Poway.
00:39:52.000 Here is Bernie Sanders' tweet.
00:39:55.000 about the synagogue shooting.
00:39:56.000 He says, another horrific shooting at a place of worship today at the Poway Synagogue in San Diego County.
00:40:00.000 We must work every day to eradicate all forms of hatred and bigotry and take serious action to protect Americans from gun violence.
00:40:06.000 Now, quick note, the original critique of President Trump's take on Charlottesville is that he did not condemn white supremacy by name.
00:40:13.000 Where is the condemnation of anti-Semitism by name?
00:40:16.000 Where?
00:40:18.000 This reminds me very much of after the attacks on Christians in Sri Lanka, when Democrats simply refused to say that it was a radical Islamic attack on Christians, which it was.
00:40:29.000 Democrats simply chalked it up to generalized hate.
00:40:32.000 And Democrats have been doing this with anti-Semitism and anti-Christian sentiment for quite a while now.
00:40:38.000 Every time there is something bad that happens to a Jew, the first reaction is, well, let's condemn all forms of hate.
00:40:43.000 This is how they shied away from condemning Ilhan Omar, who's an open anti-Semite.
00:40:47.000 Instead, they just said, we hate all forms of hate.
00:40:49.000 All forms of hate are bad.
00:40:50.000 White supremacy, particularly bad.
00:40:51.000 How about this?
00:40:52.000 White supremacy is evil.
00:40:54.000 People who propagate white supremacy are evil.
00:40:56.000 Left-wing antisemitism is evil.
00:40:58.000 People who propagate it are evil.
00:41:00.000 Islamic antisemitism is evil.
00:41:02.000 People who propagate it are evil.
00:41:05.000 Why is it hard to say any of these things?
00:41:07.000 And you see this even from Peter Beinart, who's honestly as close to a Hamas spokesperson as anybody on the left.
00:41:14.000 I mean, every time Israel gets in a war with Hamas, it's always Israel's fault.
00:41:17.000 Beinart's just awful in every way.
00:41:20.000 So he tweets this out.
00:41:20.000 He tweets, Okay, so let's parse that for just a second.
00:41:28.000 If you foment hatred against Muslims, don't offer your sympathy when hatred kills Jews.
00:41:32.000 Muslims and Jews are two separate groups, and just because the same people sometimes are interested in killing both Muslims and Jews, that does not make the groups exactly the same.
00:41:41.000 Now, you shouldn't foment hatred against Muslims.
00:41:43.000 But the innate swing from Peter Beinart away from antisemitism and toward, we must protect Ilhan Omar is amazing because that's what's happening there, right?
00:41:52.000 What Peter Beinart is doing there, his tweet is obviously a way to protect Ilhan Omar.
00:41:57.000 So if you say Ilhan Omar is an antisemite, Peter Beinart says, aha, you're attacking Ilhan Omar.
00:42:01.000 That means you don't care about dead Jews.
00:42:03.000 How sick is that logic?
00:42:06.000 How sick is that logic?
00:42:07.000 And if you condemn what happened in Christchurch, Then, presumably, that's not enough.
00:42:12.000 If you say that radical Islam is evil, and that normal Islam might be fine, or that you know many Muslims who are good, or that Islam isn't inherently tied to violence but there are too many Muslims who are violent, Peter Beinart will condemn you for the killing of Jews in Poway.
00:42:27.000 He says, the anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are two symptoms of the same white nationalist disease.
00:42:31.000 You either fight them both or you are complicit in them both.
00:42:34.000 Well, how about you fight white supremacy overall, but also you're allowed to criti... I mean, this, it's so funny.
00:42:39.000 The same people who will say that if you talk about anti-Semitism, you are trying to silence talk about Israel.
00:42:45.000 The same people will say, well, if you criticize radical Islam at all, really you're in favor of white supremacy.
00:42:51.000 What a joke Peter Beinart is.
00:42:52.000 Just intellectually corrupt beyond all measure.
00:42:56.000 So Ilhan Omar then sounds off herself.
00:42:58.000 Which is, my heart is breaking after today's deadly shooting at a Chabad congregation in San Diego on the last day of Passover and six months to the day after the Tree of Life shooting.
00:43:06.000 We as a nation must confront the terrifying rise of religious hate and violence.
00:43:09.000 Love Trump's hate.
00:43:11.000 So that last line there, obviously a reference to President Trump and a suggestion that because that was a slogan that was being used against Trump in 2016.
00:43:19.000 Now, listen, do I think that Ilhan Omar is happy when Jews get shot at a Chabad?
00:43:23.000 No, I don't.
00:43:25.000 But Ilhan Omar certainly does not take Anti-Semitism seriously!
00:43:29.000 She clearly does not, I mean, she is an anti-Semite.
00:43:31.000 She does not take anti-Semitism seriously.
00:43:33.000 And then hilariously enough, Ted Cruz tweets out, the anti-Semitic left, he's condemning the New York Times cartoon.
00:43:38.000 He says, the anti-Semitic left, whether Ilhan Omar's repeated anti-Israel slurs or the New York Times apologizing for Hamas terrorists and running racist cartoons is getting worse, and the House can't even pass an anti-Semitism resolution.
00:43:49.000 Responsible Dems need to say enough is enough.
00:43:51.000 Ilhan Omar tweets back to that, a white nationalist literally terrorized a synagogue during Passover yesterday, and you have yet to say anything.
00:43:57.000 Shame on you.
00:43:58.000 Yes, I'm sure that Ilhan Omar is the leading tip of the spear in fighting anti-Semitism and white nationalism when it targets Jews.
00:44:06.000 I'll fight white nationalists over any of this crap.
00:44:08.000 I don't think that Ilhan Omar is leading the fight against anti-Semitism in the United States.
00:44:14.000 And that suggestion is a joke.
00:44:16.000 It's a joke.
00:44:19.000 I'll just point out here one final thing about Ilhan Omar.
00:44:22.000 So over the weekend, she accused President Trump of incitement again.
00:44:26.000 Incitement again.
00:44:27.000 Why?
00:44:27.000 Because President Trump pointed out that Ralph Northam had said in an open interview that there are situations in which a baby is born and then doctors and the mother can decide whether it should die or not.
00:44:37.000 And Ilhan Omar said, This is truly dangerous and sickening.
00:44:40.000 Is this deranged president suggesting parents and doctors are working together to commit infanticide?
00:44:44.000 We have seen religious fanatics bombing clinics and threatening women.
00:44:47.000 This will fan the flames of violence.
00:44:49.000 Stop the misinformation.
00:44:50.000 So in other words, according to Ilhan Omar, it's incitement if you criticize her.
00:44:53.000 It's incitement if President Trump points out what Ralph Northam, the governor of Virginia, said.
00:44:57.000 But Ilhan Omar is never guilty of incitement, no matter how much anti-Semitic bile she spews.
00:45:03.000 As I said before, if you are blind to antisemitism from one particular side of the aisle because it favors your political position, you are not in the fight against antisemitism.
00:45:13.000 You're part of the problem.
00:45:15.000 If antisemitism is just another political club to be wielded, if Ilhan Omar is given the credibility to speak out against antisemitism while routinely engaging in antisemitism, she has a lot of the same opinions about Jews that the white supremacists had in that manifesto.
00:45:31.000 In that manifesto, the shooter basically says, effectively says about Jews, that they control the world media, that they control the way money runs, that they control opinion about Israel.
00:45:44.000 Am I going to take her at her word that she hates antisemitism?
00:45:50.000 Again, I'm not going to equate her with the shooter because I don't think they're the same.
00:45:53.000 I think that people who commit violence are not the same as people who say evil things.
00:45:57.000 But am I going to take her condemnation of antisemitism seriously?
00:46:00.000 No, I'm not.
00:46:01.000 No, I'm not.
00:46:02.000 I'm not going to take the condemnation from the New York Times seriously, and I'm not going to take it seriously from a press that covers for the New York Times.
00:46:08.000 Either call it all out, or I'm not going to believe you.
00:46:12.000 It really is that simple.
00:46:15.000 Okay, in just a second we'll get to some things that I like, and then we'll get to some things that I hate.
00:46:19.000 So, things that I like today.
00:46:21.000 So there's a great essay By Theodor Herzl, the founder of Zionism.
00:46:26.000 Zionism is a good thing, guys.
00:46:27.000 It is a good thing that there is a Jewish state.
00:46:29.000 It is a good thing that the Jews have a place that they can go for protection, considering that in the wide history of humanity, Jews have not been left alone very often.
00:46:37.000 There's a great piece published in 1897 about Jewish identity by Theodor Herzl, who is not a religious Jew, talking about the need for people to respond to antisemitism by re-engaging with their roots.
00:46:52.000 I totally, you know, I think that's a beautiful idea.
00:46:55.000 It's worth reading the essay.
00:46:58.000 He talks about how a secular Jew becomes more religious in response to people targeting him.
00:47:04.000 He talks about the holiday of Hanukkah and the radiance shining forth from the menorah.
00:47:08.000 He says, So you can read the writings of Theodor Herzl.
00:47:10.000 They're well worth reading.
00:47:11.000 light looks gloomy and it finds a companion then another and yet another the darkness must retreat the young and the poor are the first to see the light then the others join in all who love justice truth liberty progress humanity and beauty when all the candles are ablaze everyone must stop in amazement and rejoice at what has been wrought and no office is more blessed than that of a servant of light so you can read the writings of theodore hertzel they're well worth reading for all the folks on the left who condemn zionism and suggest that the state of israel shouldn't exist and that kamas is in the right
00:47:38.000 and then condemn anti-semitism when it results in a white supremacist shooting someone in poway I'm gonna take that with a little bit of a grain of salt, guys.
00:47:45.000 Just a little bit of a grain of salt.
00:47:46.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.
00:47:53.000 Alrighty, so things that I hate today.
00:47:54.000 So AOC spent her weekend, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez spent her weekend, along with the other Justice Democrats, speaking out about the hot issues of our time.
00:48:02.000 One of them, AOC says she doesn't care if you are an undocumented person in the United States.
00:48:06.000 I'm glad she doesn't care.
00:48:08.000 It seems like we should probably care, since we don't know who these folks are, and they're not paying taxes, and some of them are drawing on social services.
00:48:14.000 That does not suggest that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are bad people.
00:48:17.000 I don't think that.
00:48:18.000 I know illegal immigrants.
00:48:19.000 I don't think that they are bad people.
00:48:20.000 I think the vast majority of them are coming here to work and make a living.
00:48:23.000 But, I do care about their legal status.
00:48:26.000 If you are a citizen of the United States, you should care about the legal status of people who are here.
00:48:30.000 AOC says, no, no, no, I don't care about any of that.
00:48:33.000 First of all, I believe in human rights.
00:48:36.000 I don't care I don't care if you're documented.
00:48:44.000 I don't care if you're undocumented.
00:48:46.000 I don't care if you're out here.
00:48:47.000 I don't care if you're in Rikers.
00:48:50.000 I believe in your fundamental human rights.
00:48:53.000 Fundamental human rights.
00:48:56.000 Okay, and then she proceeds to define that as voting, for example.
00:49:00.000 Well, there's a great piece at the New York Times, by great I mean absolute garbage, from a guy named David Bentley Hart, a scholar of religion and a cultural critic, according to the New York Times.
00:49:10.000 He has a piece called, Can We Please Relax About Socialism?
00:49:13.000 And then he talks about how socialism is really not bad.
00:49:17.000 He says, To be trapped in the boarding area of a smallish airport in the upper Midwest is, as often as not, to be subjected to that bestial din of fricatives, gutturals, plosives, and shrieks of hysterical alarm that constitutes political discussion on Fox News, pouring incessantly from those obnoxious, pendulous, ceiling televisions.
00:49:33.000 So this guy is a terrible writer, by the way.
00:49:36.000 And then he says, that fate I avoided a few weeks back.
00:49:39.000 Instead, there I was with the commentator, Ben Stein, hovering over me like some grim heathen god, exuding all the effervescent charm of a despondent tree sloth, glumly wobbling his jowls and opining that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez espouses a political philosophy that in the past led to the rise of Hitler and Stalin.
00:49:55.000 It's true about Stalin.
00:49:57.000 And then he says, I realize this has become axiomatic on America's excitable right.
00:50:01.000 I know that in this country we employ terms like socialism with wanton indifference to historical details.
00:50:07.000 And I'm painfully aware.
00:50:08.000 Here's the part where it gets good.
00:50:10.000 I am painfully aware that the male fox commentariat nurtures its sickly obsession with Ms.
00:50:14.000 Ocasio-Cortez partly because they resent her cleverness, charisma, and moral vitality, but mostly because they suspect that in high school, she was one of those girls they had no hope of getting a date with.
00:50:25.000 Though really, she comes across as someone who could look past a face of even the purest sweat.
00:50:29.000 Suet, if she thought she glimpsed a healthy soul behind it.
00:50:32.000 I mean, what in the world?
00:50:34.000 The New York Times not only is an anti-Semitic newspaper, it's a garbage newspaper.
00:50:38.000 My goodness, who would print this trickle?
00:50:41.000 I mean, it's just...
00:50:42.000 So it's not because she's deeply ignorant.
00:50:44.000 It's not because she says stupid stuff.
00:50:46.000 It's not because she's on the cover of magazines or is praised by journalists across the left wing of the spectrum.
00:50:51.000 It's not because she's extraordinarily famous and has a lot of power.
00:50:54.000 It's because people think that she wouldn't have dated them in high school.
00:50:59.000 And also, I mean, I can't think of anybody who wants to date with Ocasio-Cortez more than David Bentley Hart, according to this paragraph.
00:51:05.000 She comes across as someone who could look past a face of even the purest suet if she thought she glimpsed a healthy soul behind it.
00:51:12.000 She's like Mother Teresa!
00:51:13.000 I mean, amazing!
00:51:15.000 Amazing!
00:51:16.000 Yes, I'm sure that's it.
00:51:18.000 Our media.
00:51:19.000 Yeah, I'm definitely gonna take them seriously from now on.
00:51:21.000 Okay, final thing that I hate.
00:51:23.000 So this is a thing that I hate slash like.
00:51:24.000 Okay, here comes some Game of Thrones spoilers, guys.
00:51:27.000 So we're gonna do Game of Thrones for, like, two minutes here.
00:51:30.000 So last episode of Game of Thrones, it was emotionally enjoyable.
00:51:36.000 They have, they have, I don't know why they shot it through a potato.
00:51:40.000 So the, so the entire episode is too dark.
00:51:43.000 It is blotchy.
00:51:44.000 It is hard to look at.
00:51:44.000 I was watching it on HBO Go and I was streaming it.
00:51:48.000 So it was kind of best quality.
00:51:49.000 My TV is pretty good.
00:51:50.000 It's still very difficult to see what is going on.
00:51:52.000 The battle plan makes no sense.
00:51:54.000 Also, the thrill of Game of Thrones in the first few seasons was the fact that anyone could die at any time, which made it much more realistic than other fantasy sagas where you knew that your favorite characters were going to live.
00:52:04.000 Here they sort of eliminated a couple of characters who you knew were going to go at one point or another, but they couldn't even eliminate many of the fringe characters who probably have no major role going forward except to give somebody else a sort of happy ending in the story.
00:52:20.000 Meaning, like, it was pretty obvious, not to get into details, and I'm just, whatever.
00:52:24.000 If you haven't watched it, tough.
00:52:25.000 Brienne was probably going to die here, right?
00:52:28.000 Like, you thought Brienne was going to die.
00:52:29.000 They knighted her, she was Ser Brienne, she finally had reached her life's conclusion, and now she's gonna lead the left flank in this climactic battle against the Night King.
00:52:36.000 And so they figured she would die, and probably Tormund would die also.
00:52:39.000 Neither of them dies.
00:52:40.000 And neither of them dies even though they are surrounded by ice zombies.
00:52:43.000 I mean, surrounded by them.
00:52:45.000 Grey Worm, you thought for sure he's gone.
00:52:47.000 Nope, he's still alive.
00:52:48.000 The only people of any consequence who die here at all are, let me try to remember, are Jorah buys it.
00:52:57.000 and theon those are the only people of any serious kind dolorous ed dies also but you know who cares theon dies and he was destined to go a long time ago so like it was two people who you knew were gonna go their stories had finished they were toast everyone else lived everyone so every single person dies because the ice zombies except for the characters you like guys like there better be some surprises in store or this is gonna be the most anticlimactic final season ever and Now, I enjoyed it.
00:53:23.000 I enjoyed Arya teleporting to kill the Night King.
00:53:27.000 I mean, that was fun.
00:53:29.000 And I don't agree with all the people who are, like, there are people who are idiotically saying that Arya is a Mary Sue.
00:53:33.000 No, the definition of a Mary Sue is Rey from Star Wars.
00:53:36.000 If you are a character who randomly has powers without any training, you're a Mary Sue.
00:53:41.000 If you are a person who trains for six seasons to do the sort of thing you just did, then you are not a Mary Sue.
00:53:46.000 So Arya killing the Night King, fine with.
00:53:48.000 I don't know what Bran's doing all episode.
00:53:50.000 So Bran's just like being a bird or something.
00:53:52.000 He's sitting around being a bird.
00:53:53.000 Why?
00:53:55.000 What was he doing?
00:53:55.000 No one knows.
00:53:56.000 They're flying around in the clouds on the dragons.
00:53:58.000 Can't tell what's happening.
00:53:59.000 At all.
00:54:00.000 No one can tell what's happening.
00:54:02.000 So, there's some serious holes.
00:54:04.000 Also, battle strategy.
00:54:05.000 I'm going to take this entire massive force that we brought across the wide sea, and we will bring them across the narrow sea.
00:54:13.000 We'll bring the entire Dothraki horde, and then we will eliminate all of them in the first five seconds in an ill-fated Pickett's Charge against a superior force in darkness.
00:54:21.000 Makes perfect sense.
00:54:23.000 Also, we will not deploy the dragons at that time to kill all of the members of the Night King's army.
00:54:28.000 We'll just wait until the entire Dothraki horde gets extinguished, and then we'll do it.
00:54:33.000 Also, we will station the trebuchets in front of the ravine, and we will station all the troops in front of the ravine.
00:54:42.000 So we won't actually use the physical barrier that we have created to protect our soldiers, stop the forces of the Night King from approaching, so that we can, you know, kill them on the other side of that barrier.
00:54:52.000 We will instead stand in front of the barrier, So that they can kill us, and then we'll retreat haphazardly back into Winterfell.
00:54:59.000 Also, in the crypts, how does no one die in the crypts?
00:55:01.000 How is that a thing?
00:55:02.000 Okay, so, there's my take.
00:55:04.000 Hopefully, next week we'll finally get to Cersei.
00:55:07.000 Again, I think that my biggest problem with Cersei as a character is I don't think that she is clever.
00:55:11.000 So I think that the buildup of Cersei and Euron Greyjoy, who basically is pirate who works at Zara, Uh, not my characterization against Stephen Miller, not the Trump Stephen Miller, like Stephen Miller read Stee's online character.
00:55:25.000 That's pretty much right.
00:55:26.000 How is that alliance as interesting as the alliance against them?
00:55:29.000 I guess that the entire force has been decimated, but Danny still has a dragon.
00:55:32.000 In any case, we'll see where it goes from here.
00:55:34.000 I was always more interested in the politics than the Night King.
00:55:36.000 They had to get rid of the Night King, but with that said, there were some moments in the show that I really liked, but why it had to be filmed so that no one could see what was going on, pretentious creative choice.
00:55:46.000 I had heard that they said, well, you know, it's not realistic if you use lighting.
00:55:51.000 There are dragons, guys.
00:55:53.000 Pretty sure that realism is not top-of-the-line concern.
00:55:56.000 I would like to see some things.
00:55:58.000 Like, that's okay.
00:55:59.000 How about, like, if you're gonna spend whatever it was, some tens of millions of dollars on an episode, how about we see the result on, like, that would be good.
00:56:06.000 Okay.
00:56:07.000 Alright.
00:56:08.000 Well, we'll be back here a little bit later today.
