00:00:04.000The American flag stands for freedom and prosperity and victory.
00:00:08.000No matter how many problems you have with America, you ought to be grateful God gave you the opportunity, as He did for me, to live in the greatest country in the history of humanity.
00:00:16.000So, why do so many people hate the flag?
00:00:18.000The answer well, that's just how much the left hates President Trump.
00:00:21.000And now they hate Trump so much, they even hate wait for it AOC.
00:00:30.000We'll also get to why Texas wants to teach school kids the Bible.
00:00:33.000Why a radically anti Israel, militantly gay San Francisco congressional candidate is under fire from the left and the latest in Iran, where President Trump launched some bombs over the weekend.
00:00:51.000President Trump's magic power is that whatever he touches, his opposition disowns.
00:00:56.000So if he takes an 80% position, his opposition will take the 20% position just because they hate him so much.
00:01:03.000If he decides that he likes rock music and MMA and fighter jets, the left will say all of those things are awful.
00:01:10.000If he decides that, you know, it'd be awesome, a really cool fair on the Washington Mall, the left will decide that the fair is really, really bad just because they hate him that much.
00:01:18.000If he decides that we need a better lining for the reflecting pool, the left will go nuts and say it's better if the place is essentially a swamp.
00:01:25.000So, if President Trump hugs an American flag, the left will just by necessity want to burn it.
00:01:31.000Now, the left should stop doing this because it's really, really bad and really, really stupid.
00:01:35.000If we are going to share anything in this country, we should love the American flag.
00:01:38.000And again, if you go back historically, the people who most had reason not to like the American flag still found a way to love the American flag because it turns out that if you root for the principles of America, eventually the American flag ends up flying for those principles.
00:01:52.000To take the most famous example, Frederick Douglass, the escaped slave, back in the 1850s gave a speech.
00:01:58.000On July 4th, asking what July 4th was to the slave.
00:02:02.000The whole thing was a critique, this speech, of the idea that the Declaration of Independence did not properly apply to black people.
00:02:09.000And his complaint was not that the Declaration of Independence was wrong or bad or the American flag was wrong or bad, but why were black people not included in that promise?
00:02:18.000And then, of course, a civil war was fought.
00:02:20.000And over the course of 100 years, Jim Crow was extirpated specifically to fulfill Frederick Douglass's vision of a July 4th that stood for all Americans.
00:02:29.000That's the best way to approach the American flag because that same American flag that was flying over in America that tolerated slavery flew with the troops wearing blue as they fought the Confederates in favor of abolishing slavery.
00:02:43.000Hey, but today the left has decided apparently in large scale that the American flag is just too uncomfortable.
00:02:49.000There's a large piece at NBC news today titled, many Americans say stars and stripes is now a red flag.
00:02:56.000Quote, to fly or not to fly an American flag.
00:02:58.000That was never a question for Bruce Watson, who has put his national pride on display for years.
00:03:02.000And he nudges neighbors in his small New England town to do the same.
00:03:05.000But as the polarized nation marks its 250th birthday, Watson, 72, worries his stars and stripes may now need an asterisk.
00:03:12.000If we do fly the flag, we will also put out signs to make it clear that we are not MAGA, he said.
00:03:15.000So, first of all, it's unbelievable, truly amazing, that the left has allowed the right to basically treat the flag as a right wing symbol.
00:03:24.000The American flag is not a right wing symbol, it is a symbol of all of the values of America.
00:03:28.000And if the left wishes to surrender that to the right, I suppose they can, but it's a bold move, Cotton.
00:03:36.000So, apparently, a bunch of people on the left are going to fly the flag, but upside down to protest President Trump.
00:03:45.000Apparently, one person interviewed by NBC News is replacing the U.S. flag with the state flag of Pennsylvania.
00:03:53.000Erin Beltel, 22, who lives outside Philadelphia with her parents, said her father will be flying the American flag, but she says if it were up to me and my mom, we'd be flying the Pride flag or the Philadelphia Eagles flag instead.
00:04:04.000I love our country, but I'm not feeling very proud of our country right now.
00:04:08.000Which, again, is an insane proposition.
00:04:13.000You feel more loyalty and love for the Philadelphia Eagles than you do for the country?
00:04:17.000The Philadelphia Eagles, do you play for the Philadelphia Eagles?
00:04:20.000And by the way, even if you do play for the Philadelphia Eagles, you should still love the American flag more than you love the symbol of the Philadelphia Eagles.
00:04:27.000The pride flag as a replacement for the American flag?
00:04:31.000We'll get to that in a moment because that is, in fact, the default replacement flag for the American flag.
00:04:36.000According to NBC News, some readers said they were motivated by peer pressure more than patriotism.
00:04:41.000I display my flag outside my home mainly because everyone else around my neighborhood does it, even though I'm not 100% proud to be an American, said a Newtown, Pennsylvania woman, who also asked to remain anonymous.
00:04:50.000I feel if I don't have a flag displayed somewhere, people will think I'm against our country or something.
00:05:29.000The swastika stands for something different than the American flag, stands for something different than the Pride Progress flag.
00:05:35.000So, what does the American flag stand for historically?
00:05:38.000Well, most obviously, the promise of the Declaration of Independence, whose 250th anniversary we are celebrating this year.
00:05:45.000The greatness of the American Constitution, the greatest system of government ever devised by man.
00:05:50.000And yes, a set of values rooted in the Bible.
00:05:53.000Because it turns out that the Declaration and the Constitution were not born out of arid soil.
00:05:59.000They didn't spring full blown from the heads of the men who wrote them.
00:06:04.000They are the apex of a system of values that was rooted thousands of years beforehand.
00:06:10.000So if you don't like those things, then you probably are doing Americanism wrong.
00:06:14.000You're failing to understand what it is that makes America great.
00:06:17.000And makes America awesome, regardless of your politics.
00:06:19.000And this is why it is bizarre that there's a gigantic controversy that is now broken out in the state of Texas over whether or not kids should learn about the Bible.
00:06:28.000Not that kids should be preached to, that they must believe in Christ, or that they must believe that Moses brought laws down from Mount Sinai or something.
00:06:37.000But there are people who are very upset that people are being taught the Bible in public schools.
00:06:41.000Well, coming up, we'll get to why the left hates America oh so much and what they want to replace the American flag with.
00:06:47.000First, last week I sat down with Medal of Honor recipient Clint Romache.
00:06:51.000One thing that always stands out after conversations like that is this.
00:06:54.000The people who have served this country, they don't talk about themselves as heroes.
00:06:57.000They talk about duty and about the people beside them about doing the job that needed to be done.
00:07:01.000As America approaches its 250th birthday, it's worth remembering our country's story isn't just about documents and speeches.
00:07:07.000It's about the generations of Americans who answered that call when freedom depended on them.
00:07:11.000When those men and women come home, our responsibility as fellow Americans does not end, which is why I'm proud that Pure Talk is partnering with America's Warrior Partnership to raise $250,000 for veterans.
00:07:21.000America's Warrior Partnership is on the front lines of preventing veteran suicide by helping veterans access housing, transportation counseling, VA benefits, and other essential services.
00:07:29.000They provide practical support that helps veterans build stable, successful lives after service.
00:07:34.000When you switch your cell phone service to Pure Talk this month, you'll have the opportunity to round up your bill in support of America's Warrior Partnership.
00:07:40.000Pure Talk will match donations until they reach $250,000.
00:07:43.000You'll also get a limited talk, unlimited text, and unlimited high speed data for just $34.99 a month.
00:07:47.000That's a fraction of what the major carriers charge.
00:07:50.000Head on over to puretalk.comslash Shapiro.
00:07:56.000Make the switch to my wireless company, America's wireless company, pure talk.
00:08:00.000Patriotism isn't just something you feel on the 4th of July.
00:08:02.000It's how you choose to support the people who have served this country when they come home.
00:08:07.000So President Trump on Friday, he was in the Oval Office and he was talking about religious liberty because the Religious Liberty Commission for President Trump issued a draft report saying that the separation of church and state is a legal error and that Americans should view religion as an essential support and remember the creator who made us and bestows our rights.
00:08:28.000Because, again, the Constitution does not mean that you are supposed to separate religion completely out of daily life, that government can have no admixture at all with anything baseline religious.
00:08:41.000That is not what the First Amendment says.
00:08:43.000Here's the president talking about this.
00:08:47.000America was founded by people of faith, and it was settled as a haven for religious freedom.
00:08:52.000So important as we prepare to celebrate the 200th. 50th anniversary of our founding next week.
00:08:59.000It is only appropriate that we work to strengthen this fundamental right and to most essentially have liberty for generations to come.
00:09:11.000Okay, so what does religious liberty mean?
00:09:14.000Well, obviously, the verbiage of the First Amendment says the Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or abridging the free exercise thereof.
00:09:23.000Historically speaking, a lot of people have read this wrong.
00:09:26.000There's a letter of Thomas Jefferson's in which he talks about a wall of separation between church and state.
00:09:31.000But Thomas Jefferson himself saw biblical thinking as undergirding Western values.
00:09:37.000He wrote the 1786 Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.
00:09:40.000And Jefferson, who was himself a deist, but who also wrote a version of the New Testament in which he stripped out all the miracles.
00:09:47.000He said, Almighty God hath created the mind free, that all attempts to influence it by temporal punishment or burdens or by civil incapacitations tend only to be at habits of hypocrisy and meanness and are a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion.
00:09:59.000who being lord of both body and mind, yet chose not to propagate it by coercians on either, as was his almighty power to do.
00:10:05.000So again, that is in the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.
00:10:07.000So basically, because Christian values suggest that you are supposed to allow for the free exercise of mind, that is why there should be free exercise of religion.
00:10:15.000But understand, the basic supposition of a First Amendment that allows for freedom of religion is a religious assessment of the world.
00:10:26.000That God created individuals with freedom of mind and inherent value.
00:10:30.000And that it would be an abridgment of that mind and freedom of choice for the government to cram down religion on you.
00:10:37.000It should also be worth noting that actually many of the original states did have an established religion.
00:10:42.000But again, what are those clauses meant to do?
00:10:45.000Well, those clauses are supposed to be read in tandem.
00:10:49.000The idea is that Congress should not make a law respecting the establishment of religion.
00:10:52.000So Congress should not, for example, force you to go and receive communion, Congress should not force you to go pray three times a day.
00:11:02.000But that's to be read in the context of abridging the free exercise thereof.
00:11:06.000Because the idea was that if Congress establishes one form of religion, it would bar all the other forms of religion, and this would inhibit your free exercise.
00:11:14.000And notice the words free exercise, that does not mean free thought, because thought is different from exercise.
00:11:20.000Religion does not just exist in the private sphere, it's not just something that you do in your church and in your home, it's something you do your whole life.
00:11:26.000And this is something that the founders understood being largely religious and growing up in a religious society.
00:11:32.000The sociologist Emil Durkheim wrote, quote, a religious society does not exist without a collective credo, and it is more or less strong and united according to whether this credo is widely held.
00:11:43.000And all the founders understood this, by the way, including the most secular leaning of the founders.
00:11:48.000President John Adams, my favorite founder, wrote in a letter to the Massachusetts militia famously, quote, we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.
00:11:59.000Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our constitution as a whale goes through a net.
00:12:05.000Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
00:12:08.000George Washington said the same The foundation of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality.
00:12:15.000There exists in the economy and course of nature an indissoluble union between virtue and happiness.
00:12:21.000Even James Madison, who authored provisions in the state of Virginia banning the establishment of religion, said he did so in order to strengthen religion because he believed that religious discrimination would lead people to abandon religion.
00:12:34.000Jefferson himself recognized The moral branch of religion instructs us how to live well and worthily in society.
00:12:40.000Also, by the way, you are just not a literate Western citizen if you don't know the Bible.
00:12:46.000Virtually all of the Western canon, everything from Dickens to Shakespeare, everything from the works of the founding fathers to the words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, cannot be understood without some reference point in the Bible.
00:13:00.000This is particularly true for the founding era, by the way.
00:13:02.000There's a political scientist named Donald Lutz, and he actually went through 15,000 sources of political writing from the founding era.
00:13:10.000What is the single most cited source in the founding literature?
00:13:14.000Not Locke, like you heard in school, or Montesquieu.
00:13:17.000It's the Bible, of course, like a third of all citations.
00:13:20.000And the single most cited book was the book of Deuteronomy, which makes perfect sense because the book of Deuteronomy is how do you govern a nation?
00:13:26.000What is the moral law that you use to govern a nation?
00:13:31.000Well, because a lot of people today are pretending that we're about to live in a theocracy because the Texas State Board of Education has voted to require students to study the Bible stories, which, by the way, again, you should.
00:13:42.000If you wish to have any basic literacy in your civilization, you need to know the Bible.
00:13:46.000You may notice I am not a Christian, I am a Jew.
00:13:49.000I know the New Testament because in order for you to understand the literature that you are reading, you must understand the New Testament.
00:13:56.000It is not possible to read anything from Victor Hugo to Dostoevsky without understanding the New Testament.
00:14:29.000They have approved a proposal that establishes a list of required reading, according to CNN, and includes Bible verses alongside classic titles for its K 12 English and Literature curriculum.
00:14:40.000Texas is prescribing a literary canon for every public school student.
00:14:45.000Many Texas students are already familiar with at least some Christian teachings.
00:14:48.000The state last year became the largest state to require classrooms to display the Ten Commandments.
00:14:51.000First of all, I find it funny that CNN is so illiterate that they say, That those are Christian teachings.
00:14:57.000I mean, to be fair, the Ten Commandments is part of the Old Testament.
00:15:01.000Okay, so you want to talk about truly Judeo Christian?
00:15:03.000Ten Commandments would fall squarely in the Judeo Christian category since, you know, it arrived on the scene some thousand years before Christ.
00:15:11.000In any case, the new list of required titles will include a picture book adaptation of the David and Goliath story for elementary students, which, of course, again, how are you even literate?
00:15:20.000How are you literate if you don't know the David and Goliath story?
00:15:22.000It is referenced in an enormous percentage of Western literature, all the founders knew it.
00:15:28.000Okay, biblical passages about Adam and Eve for older students.
00:15:31.000Well, yes, duh, because you have to know that stuff.
00:15:34.000You can't read Shakespeare without understanding these biblical references.
00:15:38.000The actual proposals include a bunch of other texts from the Bible, including verses from the book of Luke about the necessity of humility.
00:15:46.000For fifth graders, the burning bush and the parting of the Red Sea.
00:15:48.000Again, Benjamin Franklin, not exactly a deeply religious person, wanted the parting of the Red Sea to be put on the official seal of the United States.
00:15:56.000You cannot understand the anti slavery movement without understanding the book of Exodus.
00:16:55.000By the way, also, the curriculum includes the book of lamentations from the Torah, right, which is the book, it's Jeremiah is writing that.
00:17:06.000And then high school world history includes beliefs of the Quran and the actual history of slavery globally.
00:17:11.000And Washington's letter to a Hebrew congregation at Newport, which basically talks about religious freedom in the United States, and Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank.
00:17:18.000Like the idea that there's some gigantic establishment of a Christian theocracy because you're literate is insane.
00:17:24.000But again, the reason that the left is fighting this is because if you're unfamiliar with the roots of the American flag, then you get to replace it with anything.
00:17:32.000If you stand for nothing, then you will stand for anything.
00:17:37.000If the American flag stands for the Declaration and the Constitution and a set of biblical values that undergird all of that, And you reject all of that.
00:18:24.000Take a quick quiz, get matched to the right one for how you actually sleep your position, your temperature, your firmness preference, all of it.
00:18:29.000Free shipping, a 120 night sleep trial.
00:19:39.000It turns out that's not enough to fly a Philadelphia Eagles flag or New England Patriots flag instead of the American flag.
00:19:45.000If you actively do not like the American flag and the things it stands for, sooner or later you will end up At the hybrid Palestine trans flag.
00:20:06.000He despises America and the principles that it stands for, despises them, believes that all of the founding principles of America are wrong.
00:20:13.000And so he unifies in his very personage radical Islam and trans Pride Progress.
00:20:22.000So over the weekend, Mom Dhani played tribute to Ashura.
00:20:27.000He put out a tweet saying Ashura is a time, it shows him at mosque.
00:20:32.000Again, you should know that when he does this routine where he's a religious Muslim and then immediately goes to a Pride Progress, Protest?
00:20:39.000If you are a deeply religious Muslim, that is not a thing you do.
00:20:46.000Imam Dhani says Ashura is a time of remembrance, sacrifice, and reflection.
00:20:49.000Today, on the 10th day of Muharram, we are reminded of Imam Hussein's unwavering commitment to truth and dignity.
00:20:54.000His timeless legacy reminds us of the enduring values of faith, service to one another, and the belief that justice is always worth fighting for.
00:21:00.000Our city's strength comes from the many faith traditions that shape it and our shared struggle against injustice and oppression.
00:21:32.000Shia Muslims mourn Ashura because it commemorates what they call the martyrdom of Hussein ibn Ali, who was Muhammad's grandson at the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE.
00:21:44.000Sunni Islam observes it as a day of gratitude and fasting to celebrate the day that Allah saved the prophet Moses from Pharaoh.
00:21:52.000So again, two different and sectarian views of even that holiday.
00:21:56.000So we're bringing like Islamic sectarianism to New York and then pretending that it's in unison with Pride Progress.
00:22:02.000So here was Zoran Momdani, who again praises every radical Islamic group he can find being cheered at the Pride March.
00:22:10.000The Pride Progress flag, the Free Palestine flag, they're the same.
00:25:16.000While he is tweeting about Ashura, and by the way, while he is literally going to the Pakistan Day parade in Brooklyn, okay, Pakistan is an Islamist hellhole.
00:26:00.000He's so much happier than he is at Pride Parade.
00:26:03.000He is overjoyed walking at the Pakistan Day Parade.
00:26:06.000Now, Momdani famously did not show up at the Israel Day Parade, which you would assume since he hates Jews.
00:26:12.000But here he was explaining to John Carl that the reason he actually doesn't like the Jewish state is because he just doesn't like any state that has religion attached to it.
00:26:40.000I think any state that privileges one religion over the other is one that I can't tell you I support, whether it be Israel or Saudi Arabia or anywhere else.
00:26:48.000And a lot of that comes back to a fundamental belief that we should all be considered equal no matter what our faith is.
00:27:10.000The Democratic Party, again, this is their flag.
00:27:12.000Their flag is the Pride, Progress, Free Palestine flag.
00:27:14.000One of their other candidates, Abdul El Sayed, he is likely to be the nominee in Michigan for Senate.
00:27:22.000And here he is ripping simultaneously on Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, as well as, of course, AIPAC, which, again, AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, is just AIPAC.
00:27:36.000Jews and Christians give to in favor of the existence of the state of Israel.
00:29:10.000According to the New York Post, Flatbush theater kid David Jenkins was elected last year to the DSA's National Political Committee.
00:29:17.000He's a self avowed anti capitalist, which you could imagine.
00:29:20.000I understand why you'd be anti capitalist if you're a mime, because ain't nobody paying you to be a mime.
00:29:23.000So you got to find some other economic system where someone will pay you to be a professional, useless person who can't get out of even imaginary box.
00:29:31.000He apparently is a proud founder of the Broken Box Mime Theater, where he performs pantomime to a heart thumping soundtrack in full mime makeup, like something out of Tangled.
00:29:41.000Here he is explaining what America should do.
00:29:51.000And today I am again calling on the City Council to disband the NYPD's brutal, unnecessary strategic response group and directly divert its funding to any, any of the public services fellow New Yorkers have called for today.
00:30:03.000I'm planning to run for the MPC at convention under the banner of the Libertarian Socialist Caucus.
00:30:07.000We're a diverse body of Libertarian Socialists, Libertarian Marxists, Anarchists, Left Communists, and other schools of thought within the sort of left wing socialist movement.
00:30:24.000Over in Colorado, there is a congressional candidate, Emilat Kiros, who's supported, of course, by Hassan Piker and the DSA.
00:30:30.000This person is running against a 15 term member of the House Progressive Caucus named Diana DeJet.
00:30:38.000That lady is so wildly to the left DeJet that her platform includes abolishing ICE, expanding affordable housing and childcare, Medicare for all, authoring Of defending all energy and climate regulation and endorsed by Planned Parenthood.
00:30:51.000And it doesn't matter because Malat Kirosh is outflanking her.
00:30:56.000Okay, because again, what it comes down to for the radical left is hatred of the country.
00:31:01.000Understand, that is the feature, not the bug.
00:31:04.000I know, normie Americans, we look at this and we're like, what the hell?
00:31:08.000How is it that somebody like Zar Mamdani could win despite being radically anti American, radically pro Islamic terrorism, radically pro trans radicalism?
00:31:21.000Understand, whatever is most opposed to the fundamental bases of America and Western civilization, whatever is most opposed to those things, that is the reason that they are winning.
00:31:31.000Because for generations, we have ceded a deep hatred of the country.
00:33:05.000Do you believe that the 9 11 terrorist attacks on America were the inevitable consequence of American foreign policy?
00:33:14.000I believe that the quote in which that is probably being referenced by, in the context in which it was happening, was referencing a Pentagon official who was talking about the acts that America was taking in parts of the Middle East.
00:33:30.000I want to clarify I'm just asking you about your own words, your frame of the October 7th attacks.
00:33:35.000Attacks was that that was an inevitable consequence for Israel based on its actions.
00:33:39.000And I'm asking you, was 9 11 an inevitable consequence for America based on U.S. foreign policy?
00:33:47.000Inevitable in the sense that we destabilized a lot of the Middle East, that forced people to believe that another act of violence was the only response.
00:33:58.000And again, just like I said before, our responsibility is to getting rid of those conditions that lead to violence in the first place.
00:34:11.000Remember a few years ago went viral on TikTok when a bunch of Gen Zers discovered Osama bin Laden's letter and then they said they agreed with it.
00:34:17.000That is the future if the DSA candidates continue to win.
00:34:20.000If you replace the American flag with something, it's got to be replaced by, it doesn't get replaced by the Philadelphia Eagles flag because people cannot find solidarity enough in a Philadelphia Eagles flag.
00:34:30.000They can only find solidarity across this coalition of the supposedly dispossessed.
