00:01:33.000 Okay, so there's actual news happening in the world, but there's more important news than the actual news.

00:01:39.000 And that is our journalism and media, the hot, sticky journalism getting absolutely everywhere.

00:01:44.000 Our media are all over the Biden administration, top to bottom.

00:01:47.000 They are on it.

00:01:48.000 Let me read you a breaking headline from Newsweek.

00:01:50.000 You ready for this?

00:01:51.000 Joe Biden playing as Luigi wins in Mario Kart race against granddaughter at Camp David.

00:01:59.000 I don't know.

00:02:03.000 That was the question that was foremost on my mind in the middle of a global pandemic and in the immediate aftermath of a failed impeachment effort and, you know, with an economic downturn and maybe some foreign policy crises on the horizon.

00:02:14.000 And what I was really worried about was how did Joe Biden spend President's Day weekend?

00:02:19.000 You know, because I remember when Donald Trump went golfing, it was really, really bad because people were dying, man.

00:02:23.000 But Joe Biden, that guy was playing Mario Kart.

00:02:26.000 And because he was playing Mario Kart, that means he's cool.

00:02:28.000 During his weekend retreat at Camp David, Biden and his granddaughter Naomi played the racing video game and he won.

00:02:34.000 Boom.

00:02:35.000 Mic drop.

00:02:35.000 Old man wins Mario Kart.

00:02:37.000 Breaking news.

00:02:38.000 Naomi shared a video to Instagram and showed Biden competing against her on the arcade GPDX machines, complete with chairs and steering wheels.

00:02:45.000 Biden sat on the right as Luigi.

00:02:47.000 Mmm.

00:02:48.000 Naomi is Princess Peach on the left, Game Rant noted.

00:02:50.000 Despite not being at the same gaming level as his granddaughter, the commander-in-chief came out victorious.

00:02:55.000 Naomi joked on her Instagram story, Secret Service made an exception and let him drive himself.

00:02:59.000 Wow.

00:02:59.000 a little rusty, but he won barely.

00:03:01.000 Biden told reporters on Friday that he and his family plan to relax during the long weekend.

00:03:05.000 We're going to be up at Camp David for Valentine's Day, he said, adding they plan to just hang out with the family and do what we always do.

00:03:11.000 Well, I mean, this is this is the important stuff, isn't it?

00:03:14.000 I mean, I remember every single day on CNN, people focusing in on that COVID counter in the left hand side of the corner.

00:03:22.000 And I remember that.

00:03:22.000 It was really great.

00:03:23.000 You know, every single day it was, why is Donald Trump took a dump? 0.95

00:03:27.000 Do you know how many people died while he was taking a dump today? 0.96

00:03:30.000 It's incredible.

00:03:30.000 But Joe Biden, let's be real, COVID's over.

00:03:33.000 COVID's over because Joe Biden is president.

00:03:34.000 He has cured it.

00:03:35.000 It's gone.

00:03:36.000 Sure, it's not gone and everything's still shut down, but he's cured it.

00:03:40.000 And he cured it while playing Mario Kart, which just shows how magical he is.

00:03:43.000 And lest you think that I'm just picking on Newsweek, CNN has a piece today from Kevin Liptack.

00:03:48.000 It is one million words long.

00:03:49.000 It's called Inside the New President's Routine, Oval Office Fires and Early Bedtimes.

00:03:54.000 So basically, this is just an attempt to spin the fact that Joe Biden is super old and goes to sleep right after the early bird dinner at 7.45 p.m.

00:04:01.000 as him being, you know, comfortable.

00:04:04.000 Wow.

00:04:06.000 Man of the people.

00:04:09.000 The man adds a log to the fire himself.

00:04:20.000 As opposed to others who would have called in a full cadre of servants to add a log to the fire, Joe Biden is such a man of the people that he gets up, moves three feet, puts a log on the fire, sits down with his two magical dogs, and then goes to sleep at 7.30 p.m.

00:04:34.000 I gotta tell you, I'm very impressed with this president.

00:04:36.000 I don't even have to know what he's doing.

00:04:37.000 All I know is that he beat his granddaughter at Mario Kart over at Camp David, and also that he adds logs to the fire sometimes before heading down to the Denny's and then going to sleep.

00:04:46.000 It is really, really exciting stuff happening in our media.

00:04:49.000 Now, there is some stuff that's actually happening here.

00:04:52.000 Like, for example, the Biden administration is an actual governing administration.

00:04:55.000 And I know that our media got unbelievably lazy during the Trump administration.

00:04:59.000 See, here's the truth.

00:04:59.000 They like to portray themselves as the bulldogs during the Trump administration.

00:05:03.000 They were not bulldogs.

00:05:04.000 They really were not. 0.99

00:05:05.000 They spent every waking moment focusing in on whatever dumb thing Trump tweeted that day. 0.67

00:05:09.000 The amount of investigative journalism that they did that was outside of, like, the Russia stuff, which turned out to be a giant nothing burger.

00:05:16.000 Outside of that, the amount of actual hardcore investigative journalism they did was relatively restricted.

00:05:22.000 Because they had the easiest news beat in the world.

00:05:24.000 You wake up in the morning, the president's tweeting something, you go out and you yell about it on TV.

00:05:28.000 You go to the White House press briefing room, you yell at Kayleigh McEnany about it, you go home, and then the rest of the media talks about you talking about the president tweeting something about you.

00:05:36.000 It's like the easiest beat in the entire world.

00:05:38.000 And the truth is, journalism really died under Barack Obama because the journalists declared that Barack Obama was such an unbelievable, magical man that there was no reason ever to even cover the stuff that he was doing.

00:05:49.000 In fact, it was considered bad form to cover the stuff that Barack Obama was doing.

00:05:53.000 All you were supposed to do was cover the fact that he was the greatest human being who had ever walked planet Earth because he was the first black president of the United States.

00:05:59.000 This was historic.

00:06:00.000 And this meant that there was no reason to cover any of his scandals.

00:06:03.000 Remember, his only scandal, according to our journalism experts, was that he once wore a tan suit to a press conference.

00:06:08.000 And then they got to Trump. 0.96

00:06:09.000 And then it was like, OK, well, we could do investigative journalism or alternatively, what we could do is we could Mentally masturbate about Russia for like four years. 0.87

00:06:17.000 And also we could tweet, we could write a lot about his tweets and ask everybody.

00:06:21.000 You know what's great journalism?

00:06:22.000 Going and asking a random Republican congressperson from say New Mexico about what Trump tweeted that day.

00:06:27.000 That counts as journalisming in journalism in the world.

00:06:30.000 So now it's Biden.

00:06:31.000 And most of the journalism that's going to be done is going to be this sort of shoulder massaging stuff.

00:06:36.000 Politico had a headline today.

00:06:38.000 I'm not kidding.

00:06:39.000 So yesterday I talked about the fact that there are so Many members of the media who are willing to overlook the fact that the Biden administration is completely gaming the CDC when it comes to school reopening.

00:06:52.000 The school reopening standards are pretty clear.

00:06:54.000 They should be open.

00:06:55.000 You know how to reopen schools?

00:06:57.000 Open them.

00:06:58.000 Done.

00:06:58.000 They're open.

00:06:59.000 Magic.

00:07:00.000 When you're talking about particularly about elementary schools, the amount of Safety precautions that need to be taken are significantly lower than you're talking about for middle or high school.

00:07:09.000 And again, the data show that schools are not the chief modes of transmission to people who then die of COVID.

00:07:15.000 This is increasingly true as the vaccines start to roll out.

00:07:18.000 But here is how Politico is covering this.

00:07:21.000 So the Biden administration rolled out a bunch of CDC standards that are completely anti-science.

00:07:26.000 They suggest that, I kid you not, some 99% of all school children in the United States ought to be in hybrid or at-home learning only at this point in the pandemic.

00:07:35.000 Which is nuts.

00:07:36.000 It's completely anti-science.

00:07:37.000 There's no rationale for it.

00:07:39.000 And, Rochelle Walensky, the head of the CDC, openly admitted that they created these standards specifically in order to please the teachers' unions.

00:07:45.000 So, how do our media cover this?

00:07:47.000 Here is Politico's headline.

00:07:49.000 Politico's headline is this.

00:07:50.000 The GOP tries to weaponize pandemic-exhausted parents against Biden.

00:07:54.000 Oh, you...

00:07:57.000 The story always and forever, as my friend Andrew Klavan has said, when Republicans do something bad, the headline is Republicans Did Something Bad.

00:08:03.000 When Democrats do something bad, it's Republicans weaponized Democrats doing something bad.

00:08:08.000 That's not a headline.

00:08:09.000 You mean the GOP opposes the Democrats and is going to talk about them doing bad stuff?

00:08:13.000 That's not a headline. 1.00

00:08:14.000 The headline is, are the Democrats doing a bad and stupid thing? 0.99

00:08:18.000 Our media are so in the tank for the Democrats, it is beyond all recognition, but of course, we know this already. 0.99

00:08:24.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second, because again, here is the dirty secret.

00:08:27.000 The dirty secret that is not a secret at all is that Joe Biden is radical, that his administration is radical, and they are pushing forward radical policy that even they cannot keep up with.

00:08:35.000 We'll get to this in just one second.

00:08:36.000 First, Let us talk about the fact.

00:08:38.000 Now, not a great time to go to the auto parts store.

00:08:40.000 In fact, never is an excellent time to go to the auto parts store.

00:08:43.000 Why would you wait in line?

00:08:44.000 And then when you get to the front of the line, they ask you a bunch of specific questions, you don't really know the answers to them, you have to run out to your car to check, and then you come back in, and then the guy behind the counter's like, yeah, we don't have that part, we're ordering it online, and then we're gonna upcharge you.

00:08:54.000 Instead, you could just use something called the interwebs.

00:08:56.000 It's amazing.

00:08:57.000 It's a magical place.

00:08:58.000 Go to rockauto.com.

00:09:00.000 Rockauto.com always offers the lowest prices possible, rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear, like airlines do.

00:09:06.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?

00:09:08.000 Let's say, like, hypothetically... I mean, I'm just coming up with this off the top of my head because this is my thing.

00:09:12.000 You happen to need a Delphi FG1456 fuel pump assembly for a 2005 to 2010 Honda Odyssey.

00:09:17.000 That'll cost you like $354 at a big chain store.

00:09:19.000 Well, at Rock Auto, that costs $217.

00:09:21.000 Rockauto.com, it's a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.

00:09:25.000 Head on over to rockauto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.

00:09:30.000 You can do it quickly, you can do it inexpensively.

00:09:31.000 It's a lot better than going to that auto parts store.

00:09:34.000 Go to rockauto.com right now, see all the parts available for your car or truck.

00:09:37.000 Write Shapiro in there, how did you hear about us box?

00:09:39.000 So they know that we sent you again.

00:09:41.000 Go to rockauto.com right now and write Shapiro in there, how did you hear about us box?

00:09:45.000 So they know that we sent you.

00:09:46.000 Okay, so what exactly is Joe Biden doing?

00:09:48.000 Well, he's blowing out the budget again.

00:09:50.000 $1.9 trillion in spending is what he's aiming for right here.

00:09:53.000 Now, the most well-accepted bipartisan estimates suggest that the economic shortfall in 2021 due to COVID is more like $450 billion.

00:10:03.000 Even that is probably too high, given the fact that most of these states should already be open.

00:10:07.000 Florida never closed.

00:10:09.000 Hey, if you walk around, my new home state, the best state in America from where I sit because, hey, the rest of you guys are getting hit with chill.

00:10:14.000 Florida, it's like 80 degrees outside.

00:10:16.000 It's pretty fantastic.

00:10:18.000 Also, it happens to be a free state where people can still go and do the things they want to do and exercise caution while doing it.

00:10:24.000 I take my kids to the park, it's fine.

00:10:26.000 I take my kids to the store with me, put on masks, it's fine.

00:10:30.000 Florida's been doing this right, so its economy has not been completely destroyed.

00:10:33.000 New York continues to do it wrong, they have the worst hospitalization rates in the nation, and their business has been completely killed.

00:10:39.000 Well, now Joe Biden wants to try out a $1.9 trillion spending package, which again, according to best estimates, is four times too large.

00:10:47.000 Four times too large. 0.79

00:10:48.000 And includes a bunch of crappy provisions.

00:10:50.000 So there are a lot of economists and they're saying, um, you know, guys, we already, before this package, have spent 102% of our GDP.

00:10:57.000 on government spending this year, which is the worst government spending binge since right after World War II, since 1946, since the decommissioning of the military in World War II.

00:11:06.000 Okay, so we are spending way too much money.

00:11:10.000 And Joe Biden wants to add on top of that another $1.9 trillion, which is nuts, right?

00:11:14.000 According to the New York Times, even the New York Times is like, well, you know, we might be spending too much money here.

00:11:19.000 Jim Tankersley and Gianna Smialek say, presidents who find themselves digging out of recessions have long heeded the warnings of inflation-obsessed economists. 0.65

00:11:27.000 See, even there, they're like, yeah, you know, inflation might be a problem, but we'll pretend that those people are crazy.

00:11:32.000 Who fear that acting aggressively to stimulate a struggling economy will bring a return to the monstrous price increases that plagued the nation in the 1970s.

00:11:39.000 Now, as President Biden presses ahead with plans for a $1.9 trillion stimulus package, he and his top economic advisors are brushing those warnings aside, as is the Federal Reserve under Chair Jerome Powell.

00:11:49.000 After years of dire inflation predictions that failed to pan out, the people who run fiscal and monetary policy in Washington have decided the risk of overheating the economy is much lower than the risk of failing to heat it up enough.

00:11:58.000 First of all, it's not the job.

00:12:00.000 The economy is not an oven.

00:12:05.000 The economy is a bunch of consensual transactions between free individuals.

00:12:10.000 You know how the government can make the economy better?

00:12:12.000 By getting out of the way of those free individuals involving themselves in transactions.

00:12:15.000 You know how the government can make it worse?

00:12:17.000 By creating vast regulatory infrastructures that disincentivize investment.

00:12:22.000 That's why the economy grew slowly under Obama.

00:12:24.000 I love the revisionist history that the reason that Obama's economy sucked is because Obama didn't spend enough money.

00:12:29.000 Obama went to $4 trillion a year and then he kept it at $4 trillion a year.

00:12:32.000 The United States used to spend about $3 trillion a year in the federal budget.

00:12:37.000 Now we spend $4 trillion a year in the federal budget that has never come down since the beginning of 2009.

00:12:41.000 And the idea is we didn't spend enough money.

00:12:44.000 If only we had spent more money.

00:12:45.000 No.

00:12:46.000 The reason that the economy recovered unbelievably slowly under Barack Obama is because Barack Obama held back the economy with a regulatory thicket.

00:12:53.000 It's because business owners understood that Barack Obama did not like them and that Barack Obama thought that the Regulatory infrastructure was necessary to hem them in, and so they kept money on the sidelines.

00:13:03.000 Trillions of dollars were on the sidelines.

00:13:05.000 A lot of that money was getting put in the stock market.

00:13:07.000 Not a lot of that money was going to building new businesses.

00:13:10.000 And then, Trump came into office, and the economy started to do really, really well.

00:13:14.000 It started to do better than it was under Barack Obama.

00:13:16.000 You could see it in terms of the wage increases.

00:13:18.000 People started hiring.

00:13:19.000 People started competing in the marketplace.

00:13:21.000 Now you're going to see a slower recovery, not just because of COVID, but because you're going to see this regulatory infrastructure come back.

00:13:27.000 And it doesn't matter how much money you blow into the system the way that Joe Biden is doing.

00:13:31.000 Right now, what we have is not a lack of demand.

00:13:34.000 Okay, what we have is, well, I mean, we do have a lack of demand, but it's an artificially created lack of demand.

00:13:40.000 It is not a problem of people have a bunch of money they are not willing to spend, and so we need more money in the system.

00:13:46.000 The problem right now is people are afraid to go to the store because of COVID, and when that ends, the economy will go back to normal, and everybody knows this.

00:13:53.000 But in the meantime, Joe Biden is using this as a lever in order to push his favorite economic policies.

00:13:58.000 Nonetheless, according to the New York Times, we shouldn't worry about inflation at all.

00:14:00.000 Just dumping money into the system has no impact, according to the New York Times.

00:14:03.000 Democrats in the House plan to spend this week finalizing Biden's plan to pump nearly $2 trillion into the economy, including direct checks to Americans and more generous unemployment benefits with the aim of holding a floor vote as early as next week.

00:14:16.000 The Senate is expected to quickly take up their proposal.

00:14:19.000 As soon as it clears the House in the hopes of sending a final bill to Biden's desk early next month, Fed officials have signaled they plan to keep holding rates near zero and buying government-backed debt at a brisk clip to stoke growth.

00:14:29.000 So we're going to keep borrowing money, effectively speaking, and pumping money into the economy.

00:14:32.000 We're going to keep that Fed rate at zero, and we're going to toss $2 trillion into the economy.

00:14:37.000 This is a recipe for inflation.

00:14:39.000 The only reason that inflation may not happen right now is, again, because demand is artificially suppressed.

00:14:45.000 But when demand stops being suppressed, you're going to start seeing price inflation at a fairly radical clip.

00:14:51.000 The Fed and the administration are staying the course despite a growing outcry from some economists across the political spectrum, including Lawrence Summers, a former Treasury Secretary and top advisor in the Clinton and Obama administrations who say Biden's plans could stir up a whirlwind of rising prices.

00:15:04.000 Nobody better embodies the sudden break from decades of worry over inflation in Washington and elite circles of economics than Janet Yellen.

00:15:10.000 Yellen spent the bulk of her career fighting in a war against inflation, but at a time when the American economy remains 10 million jobs short of its pre-pandemic levels and millions of people face hunger and eviction, she appears ready to move on.

00:15:21.000 Yellen said, I've spent many years studying inflation, worrying about inflation.

00:15:23.000 We face a huge economic challenge here and tremendous suffering in the country.

00:15:26.000 We have got to address that.

00:15:28.000 That's the biggest risk.

00:15:29.000 The problem, again, is not that people, broadly speaking, need a giant infusion of cash right now to spend.

00:15:36.000 The big problem right now is that there is an artificial lack of demand caused by COVID regulations.

00:15:41.000 Everyone knows this.

00:15:42.000 The economy was doing great up until March.

00:15:44.000 Then COVID hit and the economy sucked.

00:15:46.000 So what caused the recession?

00:15:48.000 Hey, this is pretty obvious to everyone, which is why if you look at the unemployment rate in states like North Dakota, which really never shut down, the unemployment rate by state right now, you can see which states shut down and which states did not shut down.

00:16:00.000 Here are the states that have very low unemployment rates.

00:16:02.000 Nebraska, which hasn't really shut down.

00:16:05.000 3% unemployment rate.

00:16:08.000 3% in December of 2020.

00:16:09.000 South Dakota, 3%.

00:16:11.000 Iowa, 3%.

00:16:11.000 Vermont, 3%.

00:16:11.000 Utah, 3.6%.

00:16:12.000 Kansas, 3.8%.

00:16:12.000 Alabama, 3.9%.

00:16:13.000 Even states that have been hard hit, but didn't shut down their economy.

00:16:16.000 Kansas 3.8%, Alabama 3.9%.

00:16:21.000 Even states that have been hard hit, but didn't shut down their economy.

00:16:24.000 Even states like Texas, which is pretty hard hit, has a 7.2% unemployment.

00:16:29.000 Okay, when you look at Florida, right?

00:16:31.000 Florida never shut down.

00:16:32.000 Florida's been pretty hit hard.

00:16:33.000 6.1%.

00:16:33.000 Okay, now let's look at the states that were hit the hardest.

00:16:37.000 California, 9%.

00:16:38.000 9% as of December 2020.

00:16:41.000 Could that have to do with the massive COVID regulations they put in place?

00:16:44.000 Nobody could go to work.

00:16:45.000 How about New York?

00:16:45.000 New York's been shut down for the duration.

00:16:47.000 Their unemployment rate has been 8.2%.

00:16:51.000 I have a question.

00:16:52.000 Is it because we need more government interventionism in California and New York, or less government interventionism in California and New York?

00:16:59.000 You want to know why business has been leaving those places for places like Florida?

00:17:02.000 That is the reason why.

00:17:03.000 Okay, meanwhile, that giant $1.9 trillion spending package?

00:17:08.000 That, of course, is exciting people like Bernie Sanders.

00:17:10.000 So Bernie Sanders, every single one of Bernie Sanders' tweets ever is, That bad thing should not happen.

00:17:17.000 And that is why you need this unrelated program to solve the bad thing that should not happen.

00:17:22.000 Here is the reality is life is filled with death.

00:17:25.000 Death is bad.

00:17:26.000 Therefore, we should have socialism.

00:17:27.000 You're like, what?

00:17:29.000 What are you talking about, dude?

00:17:30.000 Let's go back to eating that pudding.

00:17:32.000 Here's Bernie Sanders tweeting about the $15 minimum wage.

00:17:34.000 You want to talk about a policy that is calibrated to do the reverse of what you are attempting to do?

00:17:39.000 So we are hearing right now that people are lacking jobs, right?

00:17:42.000 People are missing jobs.

00:17:43.000 Particularly low-wage individuals are lacking jobs right now.

00:17:47.000 Those are the people who got hurt.

00:17:48.000 Everybody who was able to work from home and work on a computer, all those people are doing fine.

00:17:52.000 In fact, many of those people are doing great, right?

00:17:54.000 All those journalistic fellows over at the New York Times, they're doing amazing.

00:17:57.000 They're stoking the flames of shutdown politics.

00:18:00.000 Meanwhile, they're still doing fine.

00:18:02.000 They're just getting the Grubhub delivered to the door as opposed to going to the local bistro.

00:18:05.000 That is the only thing that has changed for them.

00:18:07.000 Meanwhile, low-wage workers across America can't go back to work because of all the lockdown politics.

00:18:13.000 And the solution for Democrats is to raise the minimum wage so as to throw half of them out of work.

00:18:19.000 So Bernie Sanders tweets out, a $15 minimum wage is not a radical idea.

00:18:22.000 Well, if Bernie Sanders says it's not radical, I take him at his word.

00:18:25.000 He says, what's radical is the fact that millions of Americans are forced to work for starvation wages while 650 billionaires became over $1 trillion richest during a global pandemic.

00:18:35.000 Yes!

00:18:36.000 We must raise the minimum wage to a living wage.

00:18:40.000 Okay, I have a question.

00:18:42.000 I have several questions about this.

00:18:44.000 First of all, you can't be forced to work for starvation wages.

00:18:47.000 It's against the 13th Amendment.

00:18:49.000 If you were working for starvation wages, on a technical level, you would be dead.

00:18:52.000 Starvation wages, presumably, By the terminology itself means it is not a living wage.

00:18:59.000 A living wage, what Bernie Sanders means, presumably, is that he wants a wage that is higher.

00:19:03.000 Okay, you want a wage that's higher.

00:19:05.000 Now, here is the problem.

00:19:07.000 By setting a $15 minimum wage, what you are actually doing is increasing the wage artificially beyond the point of employability.

00:19:15.000 Let's say that there are two people who are out of work.

00:19:16.000 One is a college graduate.

00:19:17.000 One is a non-college graduate.

00:19:19.000 Before, maybe you hire the non-college graduate because the college graduate is demanding too much money.

00:19:23.000 Now, you've got a $15 minimum wage, which means you've got to pay $15 either way.

00:19:26.000 So, who are you going to hire?

00:19:28.000 The college graduate or the high school graduate?

00:19:31.000 Minimum wages put the people who are lower down on the economic spectrum out of work.

00:19:35.000 They make sure the people who maintain their jobs make a little bit more money.

00:19:39.000 But the people who don't get those jobs, their minimum wage is zero.

00:19:41.000 It is zero, because they don't have a job.

00:19:43.000 Their minimum wage is now zero.

00:19:45.000 A point that Thomas Sowell has made over and over again.

00:19:48.000 When you set a minimum wage, you're not actually setting a minimum wage.

00:19:50.000 You're setting a minimum wage of zero for most of the people who are out of work, and a minimum wage of, say, $15 for the people who get to retain their jobs.

00:19:57.000 The other thing that's going to happen, obviously, Is that people are going to start implementing technologies.

00:20:02.000 Right now, there are many stores out there that are thinking, okay, well it costs maybe a thousand bucks to put in a machine.

00:20:07.000 Instead of spending the thousand bucks, I hire somebody at low wage, teenager at low wage, who needs a job, and I have that person do the job. 0.96

00:20:13.000 It's cheaper than putting in the machinery.

00:20:16.000 If you want to replace the entire restaurant business with robots, this is a pretty good way to do it, is to raise the minimum wage to 15 bucks.

00:20:22.000 You want to know why, over the past decade, you have seen grocery stores that now have self-checkout counters?

00:20:27.000 The reason that you have grocery stores with self-checkout counters is because unionized labor drove up the price of labor for people who do the checkouts.

00:20:36.000 So the stores were like, okay, well, either I could deal with this union, or I could just pay a machine.

00:20:41.000 Zero dollars.

00:20:41.000 I could just put the machine right there, and then we're done.

00:20:46.000 You worry about the cost of automation?

00:20:47.000 Automation becomes less expensive than labor when you artificially raise the price of labor.

00:20:51.000 Everybody knows this.

00:20:52.000 By the way, you know who knows that minimum wage is kind of a problem?

00:20:55.000 There's this candidate.

00:20:57.000 His name was Bernie Sanders.

00:20:59.000 According to Vox.com, in early June 2019, Bernie Sanders traveled to Walmart's annual shareholder meeting to confront company executives over their moral culpability for the low incomes of many of the company's employees.

00:21:10.000 Walmart is the largest private employer in America and is owned by the Walton family, the wealthiest family in the United States, Sanders said.

00:21:16.000 And yet, despite the incredible wealth of its owner, Walmart pays many of its employees starvation wages, wages that are so low, many of these employees are forced to rely on government programs like food stamps, Medicaid, and public housing.

00:21:27.000 So, quick note there, he's actually got the chain of events backwards.

00:21:31.000 When you create government incentive programs that pay people, What you end up doing is artificially lowering the wages because companies no longer have to pay $10 an hour.

00:21:41.000 They know the government's filling in $5 an hour, so instead they pay the other $5 an hour.

00:21:45.000 All of this is just basic logic.

00:21:47.000 But here's the problem for Bernie Sanders.

00:21:49.000 Sanders's campaign paid many of its staffers in the 2020 campaign, primarily in the traditionally low-paid field department, less than $15 per hour.

00:21:58.000 Oh, isn't that amazing?

00:22:01.000 As per our usual arrangement, folks on the left, they have a standard that they wish that everybody else would uphold, but they have no interest in upholding it themselves.

00:22:08.000 In just a second, we're gonna get to more radical policy from the Biden administration that we should ignore because Joe Biden is putting another fire on the log and playing his Luigi, which, by the way, is a form of cultural appropriation, as far as I'm concerned.

00:22:19.000 We'll get to more of this in a moment.

00:22:20.000 First, let us talk about something awkward.

00:22:22.000 Of course, I'm talking about erectile dysfunction.

00:22:24.000 That's something nobody really wants to talk about if you got it and you're suffering from it.

00:23:21.000 Okay, so, meanwhile, there is the race policy that will undoubtedly follow this administration. 0.73

00:23:28.000 We've already seen it implemented at the local level.

00:23:30.000 The Biden administration has repeatedly suggested that equity is to guide all of its decisions.

00:23:34.000 As we have talked about at length on this program, when folks on the left say equity, they do not mean equality.

00:23:39.000 What they mean is that any program that does not achieve equal outcome on the basis of group, any program that does not achieve that is considered racist.

00:23:48.000 And to be anti-racist, whenever you see somebody saying, I'm doing the work, I've become an anti-racist.

00:23:53.000 It doesn't mean I've become a not-racist.

00:23:54.000 It means I've become a person who wants to tear down all existing structures of power, castigating them as systemically discriminatory.

00:24:02.000 That's what it means.

00:24:02.000 Right?

00:24:04.000 So this is the stuff that the Biden administration has been pushing.

00:24:06.000 They've been pushing it in vaccine policy.

00:24:07.000 They've been pushing it in educational policy.

00:24:09.000 They've been pushing it in economic policy, in environmental policy.

00:24:12.000 They literally said that Ibram X. Kendi's idea of how the world should work is the way they are going to govern, which is scary as all hell.

00:24:19.000 Because first of all, in many cases, it is violative of the basic principle of the Civil Rights Act of 1965, which is that people ought not be treated on the basis of group or race.

00:24:27.000 They ought to be treated instead on the basis of their individual identity.

00:24:31.000 Instead, this is not what is happening, and we are seeing it crammed down in our educational system primarily.

00:24:38.000 So, Christopher Rufo, who writes for City Journal, and he is the director of a group called Discovery, the Center on Wealth and Poverty.

00:24:47.000 At Discovery Institute.

00:24:49.000 So he has been keeping track of the woke equity politics that is now being mainlined into our educational system.

00:24:57.000 So take a gander at this.

00:24:58.000 Chris Rufo tweets out, the principal of Eastside Community School in New York sent white parents a tool for action. 0.71

00:25:04.000 It tells them they must become white traitors and then advocate for full white abolition. 0.98

00:25:09.000 Okay, this is nuts. 0.93

00:25:11.000 So let's take a look at this for just a second, because while the Biden administration, I keep mixing them up because this is just Obama administration part three, because the Biden administration has embraced the basic equity playbook here, this is what they mean.

00:25:26.000 They haven't gone all the way yet, but they will, don't worry.

00:25:28.000 We're very, very early on.

00:25:30.000 So they have been distributing at the school the eight white identities by a person named Barnor Hess, And the eight white identities stretch from white supremacist in the red to white abolitionist in the green.

00:25:44.000 They say there is a regime of whiteness and there are action-oriented white identities.

00:25:48.000 People who identify with whiteness are one of these. 0.92

00:25:50.000 It's about time we build an ethnography of whiteness since white people have been the ones writing about and governing others. 0.99

00:25:55.000 Okay, what the hell does any of that mean?

00:25:57.000 Well, let's get a little more specific.

00:25:59.000 Here are the eight white identities according to Barnor Hess.

00:26:02.000 Again, this is being taught now at schools in New York.

00:26:06.000 And by the way, at schools that are liberal in LA, same kind of thing.

00:26:09.000 You're gonna see this brought into public education with a vengeance over the course of the next few years.

00:26:13.000 Okay, that's the prediction.

00:26:15.000 Here are the eight white identities according to Barnor Hess.

00:26:18.000 He says, one, white supremacists, right? 1.00

00:26:20.000 These are the worst people. 1.00

00:26:21.000 And this is what all of American society is. 0.99

00:26:23.000 Clearly marked white society that preserves names and values white superiority. 0.96

00:26:27.000 That makes it that you're a white supremacist, okay? 0.99

00:26:29.000 Second, white voyeurism. 0.99

00:26:31.000 Wouldn't challenge a white supremacist. 0.99

00:26:32.000 Desires non-whiteness because it's interesting and pleasurable. 0.57

00:26:35.000 Seeks to control the consumption and appropriation of non-whiteness.

00:26:38.000 Fascination with culture. 0.65

00:26:40.000 Example, consuming black culture without the burden of blackness. 0.99

00:26:42.000 So if you listen to rap, but you're white, this means that you're probably a white voyeurist. 0.99

00:26:46.000 You're a white voyeur. 0.99

00:26:48.000 Right, you're not a white supremacist, but you're kind of white supremacist adjacent. 0.98

00:26:53.000 Because you're like a white supremacist in that you like all the structures of power, but you also like listening to rap music. 0.91

00:26:57.000 Then there's white privilege.

00:26:59.000 Maybe you critique supremacy, but a deep investment in questions of fairness and equality under normalization of whiteness and the white rule, sworn goal of diversity.

00:27:07.000 So, now if you say that you like diversity, but you also believe in things like fairness and equality on an individual level, this means that you are suffering from white privilege.

00:27:15.000 Because of course the entire system is white. 0.97

00:27:18.000 And so if you say that you want everybody to be treated equally on an individual level, this means you're upholding a system that has been supremacist in the past and is supremacist today, so you're actually just privileged.

00:27:27.000 Okay, then.

00:27:28.000 Fourth level. 0.99

00:27:30.000 This is all cult crap, by the way. 1.00

00:27:31.000 This is just cultic nonsense. 1.00

00:27:33.000 Fourth level.

00:27:34.000 Okay, now we are rising.

00:27:35.000 So we went from the worst and we're moving toward the best.

00:27:38.000 Get ready for it, gang.

00:27:39.000 Fourth, white benefit. 0.87

00:27:40.000 You're sympathetic to a set of issues, but only privately.

00:27:42.000 You won't speak or act in solidarity publicly because benefiting through whiteness in public. 0.62

00:27:47.000 Some people of color are in this category as well.

00:27:50.000 So this would be like Candace Owens. 0.97

00:27:51.000 So if you're a black person, but you don't speak in or act in solidarity with whiteness in public, Or against whiteness in public, this means that you're of white benefit. 0.91

00:28:01.000 Actually, according to these folks, Candace is probably a white supremacist. 1.00

00:28:05.000 May you white voyeurist. 1.00

00:28:06.000 Same thing for Shelby Steele. 1.00

00:28:08.000 A white benefit person is a person who is actually a Black Lives Matter sympathizer, but doesn't speak out very loudly about it.

00:28:15.000 Then there's white confessional.

00:28:16.000 White confessional is some exposure of whiteness takes place, but as a way of being accountable to people of color after you're seeking validation from people of color.

00:28:23.000 Okay, so this is all the people who marched in the Black Lives Matter protests but are white, who posted a black square on Instagram.

00:28:29.000 You're a white confessional because you can see your own whiteness, But you're only seeking validation from people of color. 0.99

00:28:35.000 Now you might think to yourself, okay, like, that should be about as radical as it gets here.

00:28:39.000 You're basically saying that the system, you're conceding all the points.

00:28:43.000 Don't worry, there's more.

00:28:45.000 White critical.

00:28:46.000 Now we're getting to the people who are reaching saintly levels of anti-whiteness. 0.78

00:28:49.000 White critical.

00:28:50.000 You take on board critiques of whiteness and invest in exposing or marking the white regime. 0.78

00:28:55.000 You refuse to be complicit with the regime.

00:28:57.000 Whiteness speaking back to whiteness. 0.94

00:28:59.000 This is white people telling other white people that they are too white. 0.67

00:29:01.000 Because why do you make white white? 0.87

00:29:03.000 Make white white.

00:29:04.000 And finally, you can be a white trader.

00:29:07.000 You actively refuse complicity.

00:29:09.000 You name what is going on.

00:29:10.000 Your intention is to subvert white authority and tell the truth at whatever cost. 0.59

00:29:14.000 You need them to dismantle institutions. 0.74

00:29:17.000 And finally, you're a white abolitionist.

00:29:18.000 This is like the highest level.

00:29:20.000 You have cleansed yourself of all sin.

00:29:22.000 You have purged yourself.

00:29:23.000 You're full Robin DiAngelo. 0.94

00:29:25.000 White abolitionist.

00:29:26.000 You change institutions.

00:29:27.000 You dismantle whiteness. 0.52

00:29:29.000 You don't allow whiteness to reassert itself. 0.98

00:29:30.000 But by the way, what's amazing about this is that you're still the one in power, right?

00:29:33.000 You're the white person who's in power and you're acting on behalf of people of color.

00:29:37.000 You are now a white abolitionist. 1.00

00:29:39.000 Okay, this is the crap they are teaching to school children. 1.00

00:29:42.000 It's racist nonsense. 1.00

00:29:43.000 There should be lawsuits on the basis of this. 0.96

00:29:45.000 But get ready.

00:29:45.000 This sort of stuff is going to be mainlined into American politics.

00:29:48.000 Because as soon as you start using the term equity, this is where it's going.

00:29:51.000 We all know this is where it is going.

00:29:53.000 We're going to get to Andrew Cuomo and the collapse of the Democratic COVID narrative in just one second.

00:29:58.000 First, let's talk about a simple fact.

00:29:59.000 You're spending a lot of time with screens these days.

00:30:01.000 Here's one of the problems.

00:31:11.000 All right, we're gonna get to more in just one second.

00:31:13.000 First, As you know, actress Gina Carano was recently cancelled by Lucasfilm and Disney+.

00:31:19.000 For the great crime of being a conservative.

00:31:19.000 Why?

00:31:20.000 It's very obvious that that was the case.

00:31:22.000 The Hollywood Reporter said they'd been looking for months to drop her because she was conservative. 0.98

00:31:26.000 And then they found an excuse and they dropped her.

00:31:27.000 By the way, they didn't even bother asking her for an apology.

00:31:30.000 They just canned her. 1.00

00:31:31.000 Now that would have been A normal story of Hollywood cancellation, except for the fact that we here at The Daily Wire, we are dedicated to fighting back against this crap in two ways. 0.94

00:31:38.000 One, we want to make entertainment that competes with the big boys.

00:31:41.000 And two, we want to make sure that when people who are conservative get canceled, there is a home for them, which is why we announced a movie deal with Gina literally the day after she was dumped by Lucasfilms.

00:31:50.000 That's correct.

00:31:50.000 She'll be developing, producing, starring in an upcoming film.

00:31:53.000 It's going to be released only to you guys, The Daily Wire members.

00:31:56.000 We've all been saying it for a long time that conservatives need to do more than complaining and critiquing.

00:31:59.000 We need to actually stop running away from the culture war.

00:32:01.000 We need to engage.

00:32:02.000 Well, we can only do that with your membership.

00:32:04.000 We are really excited to be announcing our new partnership with Gina.

00:32:07.000 The woke mob thinks they're in control.

00:32:09.000 They have another thing coming.

00:32:10.000 Now, here's the thing.

00:32:11.000 Again, Disney is going to spend $8 billion per year on Disney Plus.

00:32:14.000 Per year.

00:32:15.000 We've got you!

00:32:16.000 So, we need your help.

00:32:17.000 Making movies is really expensive.

00:32:19.000 Making culture is really expensive.

00:32:20.000 Getting into the culture war is really expensive.

00:32:22.000 But, here's the thing, they've left themselves really vulnerable.

00:32:25.000 And the more they keep canceling talented people, the more we are going to work with those talented people.

00:32:29.000 Go to dailywire.com slash subscribe.

00:32:31.000 Use code Gina, that's G-I-N-A, to get 25% off your membership today.

00:32:36.000 Also, Gina Carano will be joining us for the Sunday special this week.

00:32:38.000 I'm really pumped about it.

00:32:39.000 I think you are going to love it.

00:32:41.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:32:44.000 So again, the reality here is that the Biden administration is pursuing radical policy across the board.

00:32:54.000 And I got to say, it is incredible to see how when a Democrat is in power, everybody just sort of comes out of the closet with their true agenda.

00:33:02.000 Here I'm speaking of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the greatest of all doctors, except for Dr. Jill Biden, who indeed is the most wonderful of all doctors.

00:33:08.000 So Dr. Anthony Fauci, and for months and months and months and months, he was supposedly the most knowledgeable person in politics, completely apolitical.

00:33:15.000 Not political.

00:33:16.000 Just speaking for the science.

00:33:17.000 That's all he was.

00:33:18.000 He was captain science.

00:33:19.000 Sure, he was on the cover of InTouch magazine.

00:33:21.000 Sure, they were creating votive candles of Dr. Anthony Fauci.

00:33:24.000 And sure, he's flipped his mind about 83 times on masking and not masking and schools and not schools.

00:33:30.000 And sure, now he's come back and he's like, you know what?

00:33:32.000 We need a stimulus package, which is a perfectly politically driven idea.

00:33:35.000 We need a stimulus package in order to reopen schools.

00:33:38.000 By the way, you know how you know that's not true?

00:33:40.000 Because if you actually look at the Biden package, this $1.9 trillion package that they are now pushing, if you look at the funding for schools, you will notice something very, very weird.

00:33:50.000 Hey, would you like to hear the weird thing?

00:33:51.000 The weird thing is, here is the spending by year for the schools.

00:33:54.000 You ready?

00:33:55.000 For the Department of Education.

00:33:56.000 For 2022, some $32 billion For 2022.

00:34:02.000 For 2023, $32 billion.

00:34:02.000 And for 2024, $25 billion.

00:34:03.000 Now, I have a question.

00:34:04.000 $32 billion and for 2024 $25 billion.

00:34:09.000 Now, I have a question.

00:34:12.000 Why do you need that for pandemic relief?

00:34:14.000 Seriously, 2024 is like three years away by my calculations.

00:34:21.000 And yet you're talking about spending $25 billion on pandemic relief in 2024.

00:34:24.000 I have a feeling this has nothing whatsoever to do with COVID relief.

00:34:28.000 Nonetheless, now Fauci is free.

00:34:30.000 And so Fauci can be just as much of a Democrat as he wants to be.

00:34:32.000 So here's Anthony Fauci saying, you know, like what we need right now is to keep the focus on Trump.

00:34:37.000 That's the really important thing.

00:34:38.000 We won't keep the focus on any of the incompetence among the Democrats who are actually in power in most of the major institutions across our nation.

00:34:44.000 Let's keep the focus on Trump.

00:34:45.000 So here's Anthony Fauci talking about how he was worried about catching COVID at the Trump White House.

00:34:49.000 You know who's not in the White House anymore?

00:34:50.000 Donald Trump.

00:34:51.000 You know what's irrelevant?

00:34:52.000 This.

00:34:54.000 I think you'd have to be oblivious not to consider the fact that if you get infected, that you are already in a category of someone who has a high risk of having a serious outcome.

00:35:06.000 I didn't fixate on that, but it was in the back of my mind because I had to be out there.

00:35:11.000 I mean, particularly when I was going to the White House every day, when the White House was sort of a super spreader location.

00:35:20.000 I mean, that made me a little bit nervous.

00:35:23.000 Well, you know, and there he is smiling at this.

00:35:24.000 Well, you know, it's good.

00:35:25.000 It's good to have scientific sources like Dr. Fauci talking about this stuff.

00:35:28.000 By the way, Dr. Fauci, the all-sacrificing Dr. Fauci, who, by the way, has the highest salary of anyone in the federal government, apparently, he was awarded a $1 million prize for speaking truth to power.

00:35:38.000 Not kidding you.

00:35:39.000 According to the Daily Wire, on Monday, the nation's top infectious disease official, Dr. Anthony Fauci, received a $1 million Israeli prize established by late Italian-Israeli philanthropist, Dan Daveed.

00:35:50.000 Fauci was honored with the Dan Daveed Prize for his service in public health and speaking truth to power during the pandemic, according to NPR.

00:35:58.000 As the COVID-19 pandemic unraveled, Fauci leveraged his considerable communication skills to address people gripped by fear and anxiety and worked relentlessly to inform individuals in the U.S.

00:36:06.000 and elsewhere about the public health measures essential for containing the pandemic's spread.

00:36:10.000 In addition, he has been widely praised for his courage in speaking truth to power in a highly charged political environment.

00:36:16.000 Speaking truth to power?

00:36:17.000 Uh-huh.

00:36:18.000 Oh, yeah, that's what he's doing right now when he, you know, just starts repeating all of the Democratic talking points about COVID.

00:36:25.000 Speaking of which, you may have noticed that Andrew Cuomo is completely falling apart.

00:36:29.000 So there was a bit of odd juxtaposition yesterday.

00:36:30.000 So Andrew Cuomo, over the last couple of days, was awarded an Emmy.

00:36:33.000 He was given a television Emmy for his massively incredible performance during the COVID pandemic, which has ended with the second highest death per million ratio in America and currently the highest hospitalization rate in the nation, after he wrote a book about his amazing leadership.

00:36:46.000 A bunch of Hollywood celebrities stopped by to talk about this.

00:36:49.000 Because when we're talking about health, the people who know the most are obviously celebrities.

00:36:53.000 So here is Spike Lee and Ben Stiller and the rest of the crowd praising Andrew Cuomo.

00:36:57.000 To my governor, the governor of the Empire State, Andrew Cuomo.

00:37:04.000 Congratulations, Andrew, on your much-deserved Founders Award.

00:37:09.000 Governor Andrew Cuomo, you are the man.

00:37:12.000 What?

00:37:12.000 I was trying to think of something that I could say to you that would be funny.

00:37:18.000 And so I called your brother, Chris, who could not understand why you were getting an Emmy since he's the one on television.

00:37:22.000 In the darkest stage of the pandemic, Billy Crystal, your daily briefings live from New York gave us hope, gave us clarity, gave us the truth, and gave us something that we were not getting from Washington.

00:37:33.000 Oh, okay.

00:37:34.000 So, um, it's good.

00:37:36.000 All the celebrities came out and that same week, like within 48 hours, it turns out that Andrew Cuomo not only was lying about how many COVID patients had died in nursing homes, but that he was covering it up and he was lying to his fellow Democrats.

00:37:47.000 And then he did in one of his trademark press conferences, like these Emmy award-winning press conferences, right?

00:37:53.000 He did one yesterday in which he just lied blatantly, but he was very clear about lying.

00:37:58.000 So, I mean, I guess there's that.

00:37:59.000 So here's Andrew Cuomo talking about how honest he was while he was lying.

00:38:04.000 To be clear, all the deaths in the nursing homes and in the hospitals were always fully, publicly and accurately reported.

00:38:16.000 The numbers were the numbers.

00:38:18.000 Always.

00:38:20.000 People did request information beyond the place of death.

00:38:26.000 Not just how many in a nursing home, not just how many in a hospital.

00:38:31.000 Okay, so we were always honest except for the fact that we were lying.

00:38:34.000 And by the way, everybody on the right knew he was lying since May.

00:38:37.000 Everybody.

00:38:37.000 This was well-reported for, well now, about, what, seven, eight months?

00:38:42.000 Minimum?

00:38:43.000 Nine months?

00:38:44.000 And now the media are getting around to reporting all of this.

00:38:47.000 My favorite part of this press conference is where Andrew Cuomo says that he accepts responsibility for letting people think he did anything wrong, which is like the best apology ever.

00:38:55.000 Here's Andrew Cuomo. 1.00

00:38:57.000 Man, this guy, he is such a jerk. 1.00

00:38:58.000 And you guys propped him up as a hero. 1.00

00:39:00.000 Let it be known.

00:39:01.000 For months and months and months, he was the hero, DeSantis was the villain.

00:39:03.000 DeSantis actually ran his state correctly. 0.99

00:39:05.000 Cuomo's run his state like a garbage heap. 0.99

00:39:07.000 Here is Cuomo. 1.00

00:39:08.000 Man, the balls on this guy, it's pretty incredible. 0.95

00:39:13.000 You'd never knock down all these conspiracy theories, the political conspiracy theories, because they generate ten a day. 0.95

00:39:20.000 But we should have done a better job of providing as much information as we could, as quickly as we could.

00:39:29.000 And we should have done a better job on that.

00:39:32.000 Yes.

00:39:33.000 And no excuses.

00:39:38.000 I accept responsibility for that.

00:39:42.000 I accept responsibility for letting people think I did anything wrong.

00:39:46.000 Whoops!

00:39:48.000 What an incredible, incredible dude.

00:39:49.000 By the way, he then went on and he said deaths in nursing homes were inevitable.

00:39:52.000 Inevitable.

00:39:54.000 This guy who praised himself for his leadership, he's like, yep, I let the olds die, and you know what? 1.00

00:39:59.000 It was gonna happen anyway, so whatever, man.

00:40:01.000 I got an Emmy.

00:40:03.000 COVID did not get into the nursing homes by people coming from hospitals.

00:40:09.000 COVID got into the nursing homes by staff walking into the nursing home when we didn't even know we had COVID.

00:40:19.000 Staff walking into a nursing home even though they were asymptomatic because the national experts all told us you could only spread COVID if you had symptoms.

00:40:32.000 And they were wrong.

00:40:33.000 The truth is, it was in the middle of a terrible pandemic.

00:40:35.000 with this. It's possible that COVID was present in those facilities earlier. Also, you know, the way that you get rid of COVID? By not having the patients be in contact with other olds in the nursing homes. And then, of course, Andrew Cuomo suggested that if those old people were going to die, they were just going to die anyway. You know, that's just the way it's going to work.

00:40:53.000 The truth is, it was in the middle of a terrible pandemic.

00:40:59.000 The truth is, COVID attacks senior citizens.

00:41:05.000 The truth is, with all we know, people still die in nursing homes today.

00:41:13.000 People still die every day.

00:41:17.000 We're testing the staff twice a week.

00:41:20.000 There's no visitation.

00:41:22.000 People still die.

00:41:24.000 Okay, yes, how many would be the question?

00:41:27.000 People still die is not You guys, you guys made that.

00:41:31.000 You guys made this human being into your hero.

00:41:33.000 That was you.

00:41:34.000 Okay, so here's the thing. 0.91

00:41:35.000 As all this unspools, Biden's crappy economic policy, his crappy COVID policy, his crappy racial policy, as Andrew Cuomo falls apart, the media are focused in on what matters most, Donald Trump. 0.68

00:41:44.000 And they're not going to let Donald Trump go away. 0.80

00:41:46.000 They just won't.

00:41:47.000 Now, Trump probably doesn't want to go away, but here's the reality of the situation.

00:41:50.000 Donald Trump is no longer president.

00:41:52.000 He will not be relevant to the political conversation for at least another couple of years if he decides to launch another campaign, which frankly, I don't think he's going to do, because if I were him, I'd be incredibly tired of this, wouldn't you?

00:42:03.000 So, Trump is not the relevant political figure at this point.

00:42:06.000 Where are the Democrats putting their chief focus?

00:42:09.000 They're putting their chief focus exactly where you would think they're putting their chief focus directly on Donald Trump.

00:42:13.000 So they're going to continue to drag this out.

00:42:15.000 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now pushing for the creation of a special panel to investigate the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol a day after several lawmakers called for a bipartisan commission and report similar to the one drafted in response to the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.

00:42:30.000 Pelosi said, now as always, security is the order of the day.

00:42:33.000 The security of our country, the security of our capital, which is the temple of our democracy, the security of our members.

00:42:38.000 To protect our security, our security, our security.

00:42:41.000 Our next step will be to establish an outside independent 9-11 type commission to investigate and report on the facts and causes relating to the January 6th, 2021 domestic terrorist attack on the US Capitol complex.

00:42:51.000 Okay, what do you think this is?

00:42:53.000 What do you think?

00:42:53.000 Like, here's the thing.

00:42:54.000 I have an idea.

00:42:55.000 Let's say that you wanted to do a full investigation of what happened on January 6th and call witnesses and everything.

00:43:00.000 You could have done that, you know, and then maybe after that you could have had like an impeachment charge because apparently you can now bring impeachment after the person's out of office.

00:43:07.000 And you could have done that, or you could even have done that investigation between the House impeachment charge and the Senate vote, but you didn't do any of that stuff.

00:43:15.000 You rushed it forward for political purposes, and then you got it off the table for political purposes, and now you just want to keep this hanging around for political purposes for years on end so you can keep pretending that Donald Trump is the most relevant person to the political conversation.

00:43:28.000 You're seeing this in the media today, by the way.

00:43:30.000 Well, you know, this is still Trump's party.

00:43:32.000 It's Trump's party.

00:43:33.000 Okay, here's the deal.

00:43:35.000 The party is always the party of the prior president until precisely the moment it isn't.

00:43:39.000 That is the way that politics works.

00:43:41.000 The Democratic Party was the party of Barack Obama until it was the party of Hillary Clinton in 2016 until it was the party of Joe Biden now.

00:43:47.000 The Republican Party was the party of George W. Bush until it was the party of Mitt Romney until it was the party of Donald Trump.

00:43:53.000 This is the way presidential politics works.

00:43:56.000 There are a lot of people today being like, well, it's a Trump cult because you see all these people who are condemning Republicans for voting against Trump in this impeachment trial.

00:44:03.000 No, Trump is just taken as a litmus for Republican solidarity.

00:44:05.000 It's that simple.

00:44:07.000 When you ask Republicans about how they feel about Trump, even those who are pretty uncomfortable with a lot of stuff that Trump did, even many of those people are not like, you know what?

00:44:15.000 I think what would be great for the party is to completely divide it down the middle on the question of Trump because he's out of office.

00:44:20.000 Sounds like a great plan.

00:44:21.000 Here's the reality.

00:44:22.000 Democrats need the looming specter of Trump in order to justify all of the radicalism they are now pursuing.

00:44:27.000 In order to justify the fact they are bad at their jobs and they are pursuing radical policy.

00:44:31.000 And again, the media are addicted to this stuff because the media's ratings go down when they don't talk about Trump.

00:44:35.000 If they talked about Joe Biden's budget or how Joe Biden likes to toss a log on the fire and that was all they were covering, you think anybody would click on Politico?

00:44:42.000 You think anybody would watch MSNBC?

00:44:44.000 Obviously not.

00:44:46.000 Obviously not.

00:44:47.000 So the Democrats are gonna continue to push this stuff forward.

00:44:50.000 And not just that, they're gonna push forward more radical policy on the basis of Trump.

00:44:53.000 They have a Democratic representative named Jacobs.

00:44:56.000 And she came out and she said, you know what we need?

00:44:58.000 We need a truth commission!

00:45:00.000 Yes!

00:45:00.000 A truth and reconciliation commission, like South Africa.

00:45:03.000 This is what she told the most reliable of reliable sources, Brian Stelter. 0.58

00:45:07.000 We need a truth and reconciliation commission in the United States, which is the most Orwellian garbage I've heard in at least 37 seconds.

00:45:13.000 So here she is, Representative Sarah Jacobs from California, calling for a truth commission.

00:45:18.000 You know, a truth commission, a lot of people will think of South Africa.

00:45:21.000 We've used them in countries around the world.

00:45:24.000 And basically what it is, is it's communities all the way up to the national level having conversations about both the glory and the glory of our history and what happened, both throughout the history of our country and leading up to and on January 6th, so that we can come to a common narrative moving forward of what we want our country to be.

00:45:44.000 Yeah, this is all great.

00:45:46.000 This is all great.

00:45:46.000 And all they have to do, the Democrats, is just keep shouting Trump, because the orange man will remain bad, and he will remain the focus and the locus of the entire democratic universe until such time as he is no longer convenient for those purposes.

00:45:57.000 Meanwhile, while you and the media are distracted out here with Trump, this, with this other hand, that is where they are pursuing their radical policymaking, which again is going to make the country worse in a wide variety of ways, but the media have no interest in that.
