00:00:00.000 Trump and Biden gaff all over each other as the polls tighten.
00:00:03.000 Michelle Obama says the quiet part out loud.
00:00:05.000 And we explore why some leftists are now claiming that 2 plus 2 equals 5.
00:00:09.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:09.000 Like, actually.
00:00:10.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:19.000 Don't let others track what you do.
00:00:21.000 Keep yourself safe at ExpressVPN.com slash Ben.
00:00:25.000 Well, I will say that this campaign, it's beginning to tighten.
00:00:28.000 The polls are showing that it's beginning to tighten just a little bit.
00:00:31.000 There are several polls out in the last week that show that President Trump is within a national striking distance of Joe Biden.
00:00:36.000 Which is good news, because you would assume that Trump is probably going to lose the popular vote.
00:00:39.000 He could lose the popular vote by up to four points and still win the election if the votes happen in the wrong places for Joe Biden, if they all happen in California or Massachusetts or New York or Washington, D.C.
00:00:49.000 In the swing states, Joe Biden still has a pretty solid lead in a lot of these various states, but he is not very far above where Hillary Clinton was in many of these states.
00:00:56.000 Florida, he's pretty well ahead of the pace set by Hillary Clinton, but he's well behind Hillary Clinton where she was in Pennsylvania.
00:01:02.000 He's well behind where she was at this time in places like Michigan.
00:01:05.000 Which suggests that this election ain't quite over yet.
00:01:08.000 Now, we are being deprived of the full glory and majesty of the clash of intellectual titans that is going on between President Trump and Joe Biden right now.
00:01:16.000 And it would be astonishing to watch them both on the campaign trail, a man who Probably cannot stay awake for more than about 37 minutes at a time versus a man who cannot stay focused for more than about 47 seconds at a time.
00:01:27.000 And it is amusing to watch the two of them go at it.
00:01:29.000 I'm looking forward to the debates.
00:01:30.000 I've said before that the debates I think probably will happen.
00:01:34.000 They won't happen with a crowd, which is a pity because that's President Trump's wheelhouse.
00:01:37.000 When President Trump has a crowd, he plays to the crowd in ways that no one outside of the comic community would do.
00:01:43.000 I saw a clip of Shane Gillis, the comedian, back from March talking about debates with Trump, and he said Trump is basically a stand-up comedian, and he would just bury you on stage.
00:01:51.000 Like, all these comedians who go out there and they say things like, he's a bad orange man, he's so bad, Trump would bury them if you were next on stage, because that really is his specialty, is being a jerk in public to people.
00:02:00.000 So that would be a disadvantage for Joe Biden.
00:02:03.000 But we still have the somewhat muted pleasure of watching these two candidates just gaffe regularly.
00:02:08.000 Now, the difference between how the media treat the gaffes, that's what's truly astonishing.
00:02:12.000 So Trump right now is making a lot of gaffes that don't go to substance.
00:02:16.000 He's making a lot of gaps that are kind of funny to look at, but don't really mean anything in the long run.
00:02:21.000 So you saw the other day, he said about Yosemite, like the national park.
00:02:25.000 He called it Yosemite.
00:02:26.000 And everybody went nuts, because that's hilarious.
00:02:28.000 I mean, it is.
00:02:30.000 It's what I say to my fellow Jews right as we are arriving at Shul.
00:02:33.000 We're walking into synagogue.
00:02:34.000 I'm like, Yosemite!
00:02:35.000 Like, yeah, what's up with you?
00:02:37.000 But, you know, is that like a gaffe with content?
00:02:40.000 Usually what a gaffe is, it's a revealing moment where you know something more about the candidate than you otherwise would.
00:02:45.000 A gaffe is something that is revealing.
00:02:47.000 It's not just a malaprop.
00:02:48.000 And right now, most of the gaffes that Trump is making are malaprops.
00:02:52.000 Most of the gaffes that Joe Biden is making go to two things.
00:02:54.000 One, the fact that he is increasingly senile.
00:02:57.000 And two, the fact that he's kind of a little bit racist.
00:03:00.000 He keeps making these weird gaffes with black Americans where he just says stuff that if Republicans said it, they'd be toast.
00:03:06.000 They'd be trashed.
00:03:08.000 You remember that just a few weeks back, he said to a black commentator, Charlemagne the God, he said, you ain't black if you don't vote for Joe Biden, which is patently crazy.
00:03:17.000 Like Joe Biden being the adjudicator of blackness is pretty insane.
00:03:20.000 That's a real white dude.
00:03:22.000 That's a real white dude who used to hang out with segregationists and do legislation with them.
00:03:26.000 So that's kind of strange.
00:03:27.000 And the media just kind of, it was a story for a moment and then it sort of got glossed over.
00:03:31.000 Well, Joe Biden is making exactly those kind of gaffes pretty much every day.
00:03:34.000 And the media are just glossing over them.
00:03:36.000 The difference in media treatment truly is amazing.
00:03:38.000 So let's begin with some of Trump's gaffes.
00:03:40.000 These are the ones that are taking top headline.
00:03:42.000 And they really are taking top headline in a pretty serious way.
00:03:46.000 I will say I'm kind of amazed by the coverage of the various gaffes over at Matt Drudge's website.
00:03:52.000 Matt Drudge was one of the big cheerleaders for Trump.
00:03:55.000 I mean, in 2016, there is no question that Drudge wanted Trump to win.
00:03:58.000 He was spending enormous amounts of energy on his page, focusing in on Trump and how Trump was sucking up all the attention.
00:04:05.000 Trump was a click machine for Drudge.
00:04:07.000 Now, Drudge really doesn't cover the gaffes that Biden does in a very significant way.
00:04:12.000 But any gaffe that Trump commits, he's covering in a really, really significant way.
00:04:16.000 I don't know what Trump did to him or whether Matt is just spending less time on the site.
00:04:19.000 I really don't know what's going on over at Drudge Report.
00:04:21.000 But you can see that the coverage over at Drudge, honestly, it mirrors more the coverage at CNN than it does the coverage over at Fox News, which is kind of a shocker because Drudge used to be much more in sort of the Fox News column politically.
00:04:32.000 In any case, here's an example.
00:04:33.000 So yesterday, President Trump was doing a speech.
00:04:36.000 And he was talking about Joe Biden and the fact that Joe Biden's agenda is anti-religious.
00:04:40.000 Now, there's some truth to this.
00:04:41.000 OK, Joe Biden supports the so-called Equality Act.
00:04:43.000 It is H.R.
00:04:44.000 1.
00:04:44.000 That is a bill that is pushed by Democrats that essentially says that religious institutions should be forced to violate their own religious precepts in order to Maintain, quote-unquote, equal treatment for LGBT people.
00:04:56.000 So you have to have a priest who's transgender in your church.
00:04:59.000 The Equality Act basically says that if you're a religious business owner, you will now be mandated, in any business that you are, including religious businesses, you will be mandated to abide by social leftist structures.
00:05:09.000 It goes even further than the recent Supreme Court case, which declared that in places of employment, the Civil Rights Act protects transgender people.
00:05:16.000 It actually, because there's still ministerial exceptions and religious school exceptions, the Equality Act doesn't do any of that.
00:05:21.000 OK, so President Trump was going after Joe Biden and his anti-religious agenda.
00:05:25.000 And while he was riffing, he said that that Joe Biden was going to hurt God.
00:05:29.000 And now that that really is not a particularly revealing gaffe.
00:05:31.000 Like, I don't think that Trump actually thinks that Joe Biden is going to start hurling spears at God or something, or that if he did, it would be particularly effective.
00:05:38.000 It's just Trump riffing because that's what Trump does.
00:05:40.000 So here's Trump doing this yesterday.
00:05:41.000 Got all sorts of attention.
00:05:43.000 You will have a crash in the markets because he's going to double and triple your taxes.
00:05:48.000 He's going to do things that nobody ever would ever think even possible because he's following the radical left agenda.
00:05:57.000 Take away your guns.
00:05:59.000 Destroy your Second Amendment.
00:06:01.000 No religion.
00:06:02.000 No anything.
00:06:04.000 Hurt the Bible.
00:06:05.000 Hurt God.
00:06:06.000 He's against God, he's against guns, he's against energy, our kind of energy.
00:06:12.000 Okay, so obviously Trump is riffing there, and it's a very crude way of saying that his agenda is anti-religious, which, again, is true.
00:06:19.000 And Barack Obama's agenda was also anti-religious.
00:06:21.000 Barack Obama was the man who campaigned in 2008 telling his donors in San Francisco that only bitter clingers clinging to God and guns and religion were the people who were standing between him and victory.
00:06:30.000 So that is not, you know, it's not a major gaffe, seriously.
00:06:34.000 Like, I guess there's the implication that Trump, because he's not a particularly religious person, he's saying things that religious people would never say.
00:06:40.000 Like, as a religious person, I would never say that someone is capable of hurting God.
00:06:43.000 God ain't capable of being hurt.
00:06:45.000 If you're a religious person, you're like, well, that's weird, because God is the master of the universe and the creator of all things, so I'm pretty sure that Joe Biden can't hurt him.
00:06:52.000 Still, is that like a major gaffe?
00:06:55.000 Nah, it's mildly revealing of the fact that Trump doesn't know much about religion, which is true.
00:07:00.000 It's mildly revealing of the fact that Trump speaks in very dumbed down terms, which of course is true.
00:07:04.000 But is it a seriously revealing thing?
00:07:06.000 Not really.
00:07:07.000 Big banner headline over on Drudge.
00:07:08.000 Trump claims God on his side.
00:07:10.000 Okay, so honestly, that's actually not what he claimed.
00:07:14.000 What he claimed is that Joe Biden opposes religious people, which is kind of true.
00:07:20.000 I think that's what he's saying.
00:07:21.000 I don't think that Donald Trump is sitting there going, God loves me and God hates Joe Biden.
00:07:24.000 I don't think that that is actually the case.
00:07:27.000 And the media immediately swivel into, how dare Trump say this about a practicing Catholic?
00:07:31.000 Never mind the fact that there are Catholic priests who will not give communion to Joe Biden because he is pro-abortion now.
00:07:36.000 And Joe Biden has switched his positions on abortion several times, moving ever more in the pro-abortion direction.
00:07:43.000 He's a practicing Catholic the way that Nancy Pelosi is a practicing Catholic, which is to say they violate religious scripture on a fairly regular basis.
00:07:50.000 But the media's angle was, how dare Trump say something like that?
00:07:53.000 It was a big, revealing gaffe for Trump.
00:07:55.000 In a second, we'll go through Trump's other gaffes, and then we'll get to Joe Biden's gaffes, which are being covered for full scale by the media.
00:08:00.000 It's pretty insane.
00:08:01.000 First, let's talk about the fact that right now, a lot of us need to do fitness from home.
00:08:06.000 A lot of gyms across the country are simply not open because the government thinks that these are vectors of transmission, whatever the evidence.
00:08:12.000 That is simply the case.
00:08:13.000 Well, the reality is you still need to work out at home, but you've been looking at some of these programs, like, for example, Peloton, and you're like, that costs a damned fortune, and it does.
00:08:19.000 I mean, Peloton is so expensive.
00:08:21.000 I looked at it for my wife and for me.
00:08:22.000 I was going to be one of those husbands who got his wife a Peloton bike, and I looked at the price and I went, nope, that is way too expensive.
00:08:27.000 Well, thankfully for me, there is something else out there.
00:08:30.000 I'm talking about Echelon.
00:08:31.000 Echelon has a huge lineup of connected fitness bikes, fitness mirrors, rowing machines that give you a fun, challenging workout for the comfort and safety of your home.
00:08:40.000 I'm getting an Echelon bike.
00:08:40.000 I could not be more pumped about this.
00:08:42.000 It's connected into all of the classes the same way that other services are, except it's not gonna cost you an arm and a leg.
00:08:47.000 You don't actually have to sell a body part in order to make sure that you stay in shape.
00:08:51.000 In as little as 20 minutes, you can get into the best shape of your life and be active with the entire family.
00:08:55.000 The world-class instructors will motivate you with daily live and on-demand classes that are always available when you need them.
00:09:00.000 And unlike their competitors, Echelon is affordable for everyone.
00:09:03.000 Their EX1 connected fitness bike is less than half the price of a Peloton, which is pretty spectacular because all a Peloton is, is just an exercise bike hooked up to a bunch of classes.
00:09:11.000 Well, Echelon is cutting out the middleman and Echelon is ensuring that you're not gonna have to pay a fortune for basically the same or better service.
00:09:18.000 With Echelon financing, you can try them out risk-free for 30 days, zero down, as low as 46 bucks per month.
00:09:23.000 Don't pay a ton for a Peloton, no reason for that.
00:09:25.000 Go to echelonfit.com slash Ben.
00:09:28.000 That's Echelon, E-C-H-E-L-O-N, fit.com slash Ben.
00:09:31.000 Echelonfit.com slash Ben.
00:09:34.000 Go check them out right now.
00:09:34.000 I couldn't be more enthused about getting one of these for myself and for my wife.
00:09:37.000 Echelonfit.com slash Ben.
00:09:39.000 Go check them out right now.
00:09:41.000 Okay, so that was gaffe number one that made a lot of headlines yesterday.
00:09:43.000 Gaffe number two is Trump pronouncing Thailand, the country, Thigh-land.
00:09:48.000 So, he corrects himself pretty much immediately.
00:09:50.000 Doesn't matter, this is the gaffe that spawns a thousand memes, because it's funny.
00:09:54.000 I mean, let's face it, calling Thailand, Thigh-land is kind of hilarious.
00:09:58.000 So here's the president yesterday, shortly after.
00:10:00.000 So, first of all, I want, where in the world is Donald Trump?
00:10:04.000 And it's like, where in the world is Donald J. Trump?
00:10:07.000 This is Carmen Sandia.
00:10:08.000 I just want to hear him pronounce country names.
00:10:10.000 I'm just, I'm very into it right now.
00:10:12.000 I will admit, that between, yes I might, and also, Thigh-land, it's, It's fun.
00:10:18.000 Here's President Trump gaffing on Thailand yesterday.
00:10:21.000 In 2017, Whirlpool won relief from the ITC once again.
00:10:27.000 Once more, your foreign competitors moved their factories to prevent a level playing field.
00:10:33.000 And to avoid liability.
00:10:36.000 Shifting production to Thailand and to Vietnam.
00:10:39.000 Thailand and Vietnam.
00:10:42.000 Two places that I like their leaders very much.
00:10:46.000 They're very nice to us.
00:10:47.000 Do they take advantage of the United States?
00:10:50.000 But not so much anymore.
00:10:52.000 Like he corrects it right away.
00:10:54.000 My three favorite countries.
00:10:55.000 Thailand, China, Djibouti.
00:10:58.000 And I will admit, Thailand sounds a lot more fun than Thailand.
00:11:01.000 It does.
00:11:01.000 And it sounds, frankly, kind of like a strip club in Kansas City.
00:11:05.000 Thailand.
00:11:07.000 A thousand beautiful women in one ugly one.
00:11:08.000 And Donald Trump out front holding one of those weird signs and spinning it.
00:11:11.000 Thailand, come right in.
00:11:12.000 Thailand, it's amazing.
00:11:14.000 Right down in the center, Thailand.
00:11:15.000 It's where the stage is, Thailand.
00:11:18.000 Okay, so it makes for good comedy, but is that like a revealing gag?
00:11:21.000 No!
00:11:21.000 You just mispronounced Thailand.
00:11:22.000 Like, who cares?
00:11:24.000 Who cares?
00:11:24.000 And that didn't stop people online.
00:11:26.000 There was like a big argument last night on Twitter about the proper pronunciation of Thailand because everything is stupid.
00:11:31.000 Everything's unbelievably stupid.
00:11:33.000 So, Dinesh D'Souza, who I like, I mean I like Dinesh, but Dinesh did like a whole thread about how the proper way to pronounce Thailand is Thigh-land if you're Australian or British.
00:11:41.000 So I actually looked up Boris Johnson saying Thigh-land, and he says Thigh-land, he doesn't say Thigh-land, just for the record.
00:11:45.000 But, with all of that said, is that like a revealing gaffe?
00:11:48.000 Of course that's not a revealing gaffe!
00:11:49.000 Unless you're revealing a thigh in Thigh-land.
00:11:51.000 But, is that like a super revealing gaffe?
00:11:53.000 Of course that's not a revealing gaffe, it's just silly!
00:11:55.000 Okay, like it's funny, and it's silly, and it makes for good late-night political comedy, and that's pretty much it!
00:12:01.000 Stormy Daniels performing in Thailand.
00:12:03.000 Unbelievable.
00:12:04.000 Karen McDougal.
00:12:05.000 But again, the media covered this thing like wall to wall yesterday.
00:12:08.000 It was like a wall to wall coverage in the media yesterday.
00:12:12.000 So again, we're getting all of these quote unquote gaffes from Trump and they're basically innocuous or mild exaggerations or like none of these are world shaking in their import.
00:12:21.000 And we saw the same thing over the past 48 hours, 72 hours after Trump did that interview with Jonathan Swan.
00:12:27.000 There were some real mistakes in that interview.
00:12:29.000 I talked about them on Monday's show.
00:12:31.000 But one of those things that he said is he was talking about the levels of death in the United States and he said it is what it is, meaning I can't control how many people die from a disease, which is true.
00:12:40.000 And reporters have been all over him for that.
00:12:41.000 How could he say it is what it is?
00:12:42.000 What's he supposed to say?
00:12:43.000 It is what it isn't?
00:12:45.000 I mean, when a disease is running rampant through a community and you're doing the best you can, Like, he should have expressed more sympathy.
00:12:52.000 So it's a political gaffe in that way, I suppose.
00:12:54.000 It reveals that he has a lack of empathy, if that's a thing that you think is super important.
00:12:58.000 But, and I guess it's important, but when he says, it is what it is, and that's treated like a major story, it's still being treated like a major story like five days later.
00:13:06.000 Here was a reporter yesterday going after Trump over that yesterday.
00:13:10.000 You said, that's true and it is what it is.
00:13:12.000 You used the words, it is what it is.
00:13:14.000 Is that the message?
00:13:15.000 No, you look at the statement I made right after that.
00:13:18.000 Because if you look at... It is what it is, but that doesn't mean we aren't doing everything we can.
00:13:23.000 Yeah, and I said something after that too.
00:13:24.000 So, the message that I have is very simple.
00:13:27.000 Nobody can do what I've done in terms of all of the things that we're doing to combat this horrible disease that never should have been sent to us.
00:13:38.000 Okay, so he's not wrong about any of this, but the media covered this stuff wall to wall.
00:13:41.000 The reason that I'm focusing in on this is because this is what Trump is up against.
00:13:45.000 He'll make a fairly innocuous gaffe, and the media will blow it all out of proportion.
00:13:48.000 Meanwhile, Joe Biden will make gaffes that go directly to the heart of his campaign, and the media will simply overlook them.
00:13:54.000 I mean, just completely overlook them.
00:13:56.000 We'll get to Joe Biden's gaffes in just one second, because it's a gaffe a minute around here.
00:14:00.000 Again, these debates are going to be, as I've said before, the Swedish chef versus Chewbacca.
00:14:03.000 It's just going to be Trump going, It'll be fun, I guess, if that's your thing.
00:14:16.000 It's kind of my thing.
00:14:17.000 It's going to be fun.
00:14:17.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:14:19.000 First, let us talk about the fact that hiring can be complicated, particularly these days.
00:14:23.000 And that is why Codable co-founder Gretchen Huebner had to experience how challenging hiring can be and used a ZipRecruiter.
00:14:29.000 She switched to ZipRecruiter.
00:14:30.000 She saw an immediate difference in trying to find a new game artist to grow with her education tech company.
00:14:34.000 You can too by signing up for free at ziprecruiter.com slash dailywire.
00:14:38.000 ZipRecruiter does not depend on candidates finding you.
00:14:40.000 It finds them for you.
00:14:41.000 By using ZipRecruiter's screening questions to filter candidates, Gretchen found it easier to focus on the best ones and then find the right one.
00:14:48.000 In fact, after posting her job on ZipRecruiter, Gretchen said she was honestly surprised she found qualified applicants so quickly and hired a new game artist in less than two weeks.
00:14:56.000 With results like that, it is no wonder that four out of five employers who post on ZipRecruiter get a quality candidate within the very first day.
00:15:03.000 So, for example, we have a producer here, Katie, and Katie has decided that she actually wants to help children instead of being here and helping me put together clips in the morning.
00:15:11.000 I don't know what's going through her head, but we need to replace Katie.
00:15:13.000 We do.
00:15:14.000 And that means that we have been using ZipRecruiter right now to try ZipRecruiter for free.
00:15:17.000 You can go to ZipRecruiter.com slash DailyWire.
00:15:20.000 That's ZipRecruiter.com slash D-A-I-L-Y-W-I-R-E ZipRecruiter.com slash DailyWire helps prospective employees and prospective employers connect quickly and easily.
00:15:29.000 ZipRecruiter is indeed The smartest way to hire, go check them out right now.
00:15:32.000 Ziprecruiter.com slash Daily Wire to try them out for free.
00:15:36.000 Okay, so meanwhile, Joe Biden, again, making gaffes that actually go to the heart of his campaign.
00:15:40.000 So yesterday, Joe Biden suggested that black people are not diverse like Latino people.
00:15:45.000 And again, he has said this like repeatedly.
00:15:46.000 Okay, they're treating this as though this was a weird outlier, that it was just a brain fart from Biden.
00:15:51.000 And let's be real, that man has a very flatulent brain.
00:15:54.000 There's a lot of farts coming out of that brain, a lot of brain farts.
00:15:57.000 And it could, enough methane to choke a horse.
00:15:59.000 In any case, This was not a brain fart.
00:16:01.000 This is something that Biden has been saying repeatedly for years, which is that black people all think the same, according to Joe Biden.
00:16:06.000 He said it again just a few weeks ago when he suggested that you ain't black if you don't vote for Joe Biden.
00:16:11.000 And then he said it a couple of days ago to the National Association of Black Journalists when he suggested that black people aren't diverse like Latino people.
00:16:18.000 Which is a very weird take.
00:16:21.000 I mean, and kind of a racist take that your skin color defines how you vote.
00:16:25.000 By the way, he doubled down on this yesterday.
00:16:26.000 Like there was a second clip of him saying exactly the same thing later in the day.
00:16:30.000 It never went around because the media wanted to pretend that this is a brain fart rather than a key component of his entire campaign.
00:16:36.000 He later that day, he said it again.
00:16:38.000 He said black community does not think in diverse fashion as opposed to Latino community coming from all different places, a lot of diversity within the Latino community, which is wild.
00:16:47.000 I will acknowledge that members of the media actually kind of agree with Joe Biden.
00:16:50.000 They do.
00:16:50.000 This is why they speak of the black community as a monolith.
00:16:52.000 It's also why the media have overtly stated that black should be capitalized in media coverage while white should not be because black people are not diverse.
00:17:02.000 They share a common history, which is a weird thing because Africa is incredibly diverse.
00:17:06.000 Black Americans don't have a ton in common.
00:17:08.000 I mean, most black Americans are centuries removed from Africa.
00:17:12.000 I mean, they're African-Americans.
00:17:13.000 Their ancestors of ancestors came from Africa, not voluntarily, obviously, to the United States.
00:17:18.000 The black community is incredibly diverse.
00:17:20.000 But the line of the media is that all black people are basically the same.
00:17:22.000 And Joe Biden mirrors that.
00:17:24.000 Here he was a couple of days ago saying that.
00:17:26.000 What you all know, but most people don't know, unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community.
00:17:36.000 With incredibly different attitudes about different things.
00:17:39.000 Unlike the black community where everybody thinks the same.
00:17:42.000 Thanks, old Joe.
00:17:43.000 OK, so he then doubled down on that later in the day and nobody paid attention to it.
00:17:47.000 And then he came out and the entire media went into full spin mode.
00:17:50.000 The Washington Post had a fact check in which they suggested that Joe Biden had not said what he said.
00:17:55.000 Not kidding.
00:17:55.000 They had a full fact check because Trump said he's saying all black people think alike.
00:17:59.000 And the Washington Post was like, he didn't say that.
00:18:01.000 He just meant like in terms of point of origin, which, of course, is not what he said at all.
00:18:06.000 And then Joe Biden stepped on them.
00:18:07.000 He put out a statement via Twitter saying, I made some comments about diversity in the African American and Latino communities that I want to clarify.
00:18:14.000 In no way did I mean to suggest the African American community is a monolith.
00:18:17.000 Not by identity, not on issues, not at all.
00:18:20.000 Throughout my career I've witnessed the diversity of thought, background and sentiment within the African American community.
00:18:25.000 It's this diversity that makes our workplaces, communities, and country a better place.
00:18:29.000 My commitment to you is this.
00:18:30.000 I will always listen.
00:18:31.000 I will never stop fighting for the African-American community.
00:18:33.000 I will never stop fighting for a more equitable future.
00:18:35.000 And then he put out an ad with John Lewis, which is like his get-out-of-jail-free card, is that he was friendly with John Lewis.
00:18:41.000 So, okay, that's absolutely what he said, right?
00:18:44.000 He has said it repeatedly, that he thinks that all black people think the same.
00:18:48.000 The gaffe is revealing, because again, the gaffe strips away the veneer of Joe Biden thinks of black people as individuals.
00:18:54.000 He doesn't really.
00:18:54.000 Okay, so how did the media cover this?
00:18:56.000 So we've talked about how the media covered Thailand, How did the media cover Joe Biden saying all black people think the same?
00:19:03.000 Listen to the headlines.
00:19:04.000 It wasn't that they covered the original Biden comments accurately, and then provided cover when Biden backtracked.
00:19:10.000 They didn't even cover the original headline accurately.
00:19:14.000 They didn't.
00:19:14.000 Like, here was Politico's headline about that comment, right?
00:19:16.000 The one where he says that all black people think the same?
00:19:18.000 Politico's headline was this, quote, Joe Biden contrasted the black and Latino communities in remarks on Wednesday, stating that the latter is incredibly diverse.
00:19:27.000 Oh, is that the story?
00:19:29.000 Is that the story?
00:19:31.000 That headline is designed to not convey information.
00:19:34.000 You can tell when the media are covering for somebody, when the media decide to cover the story in such a way that you have less information from the headline than you would listening to the original quote.
00:19:43.000 That is a headline deliberately designed to obscure information.
00:19:46.000 Joe Biden contrasted the black and Latino communities in remarks on Wednesday.
00:19:51.000 So that sounds like, I mean, that's completely innocuous, right?
00:19:53.000 I mean, just he contrasted them.
00:19:56.000 And then they didn't focus in on what he said about the black community, which is that they are not diverse.
00:20:01.000 They focus in on him saying the Latino community is diverse.
00:20:04.000 So if you read that headline, you would come away with, oh, that sounds uncontroversial.
00:20:06.000 I mean, that's an incredible headline, an incredible headline.
00:20:10.000 And the media response to this is patently crazy.
00:20:12.000 I mean, Joe Scarborough said on MSNBC, here's how Scarborough covered it, quote, Biden made that argument inartfully.
00:20:21.000 He didn't need to include the African-American community in the discussion.
00:20:23.000 But he does seem to recognize the Latino community is not one giant monolithic community.
00:20:27.000 So by putting the focus on what he said about Latinos, you completely ignore what he said about African-Americans.
00:20:32.000 That's the goal of the media coverage here.
00:20:35.000 Okay, on CNN, the chyron, as they were discussing this issue, is not Biden insults black community as monolithic.
00:20:42.000 The chyron was, direct quote, this direct quote from CNN chyron, Trump claims Biden insulted black community.
00:20:48.000 Oh, Trump claimed it!
00:20:49.000 You see, the real story is Republicans pouncing.
00:20:51.000 As always, when a Democrat does something bad, as my friend Andrew Klavan points out, the story is Republicans pouncing.
00:20:56.000 When Republicans do something bad, the story is Republicans did something bad.
00:21:00.000 In fact, even when Republicans don't do something bad, the story is Republicans did something bad.
00:21:04.000 It's amazing.
00:21:05.000 Here was the Associated Press' headline on this.
00:21:07.000 You ready?
00:21:08.000 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden faces new scrutiny over how he discusses race and ethnicity after drawing distinctions between Black and Hispanic populations in the United States.
00:21:17.000 Oh, is that what happened?
00:21:18.000 He just drew some distinctions, guys.
00:21:21.000 And the story is that he drew scrutiny, you see.
00:21:22.000 The story is Republicans pouncing.
00:21:24.000 It's the scrutiny that's the story, not the fact that he said that black people are not diverse, but Latino people are diverse.
00:21:30.000 No, the story is everybody pouncing.
00:21:32.000 That's the big story.
00:21:33.000 The media are so far in the tank for Biden.
00:21:37.000 I know that it's an old news thing at this point, but it is a constant source of astonishment that they are so willing to bend over backwards in order to push this agenda.
00:21:46.000 It's really incredible.
00:21:48.000 It truly is amazing.
00:21:49.000 And meanwhile, Joe Biden continues to gaffe on policy.
00:21:53.000 Again, his gaffes on policy are pretty telling because they explain where he's gonna be.
00:21:56.000 So yesterday, Joe Biden was asked about his policy on China, how he's going to stop China from engaging in intellectual property theft and threatening its neighbors.
00:22:02.000 He was asked this by Errol Barnett.
00:22:03.000 His answer was, I'm gonna go to the UN.
00:22:05.000 Which in any normal world would be a headline because China has a veto at the UN.
00:22:11.000 Hey, China is never going to allow anything to happen at the UN.
00:22:14.000 Saying you're going to go to the UN to stop China is like saying that you are going to go to Al Capone to stop bootlegging.
00:22:20.000 That's not the way this works.
00:22:22.000 Here is Joe Biden saying a stupid thing as always.
00:22:25.000 You may recall I was the first one to say we should act and go to the United Nations with the Uyghurs.
00:22:32.000 I believe the first one, period.
00:22:34.000 We should be in the United Nations condemning China's action.
00:22:38.000 They're concentration camps.
00:22:40.000 They're concentration camps.
00:22:43.000 You mean you're going to go to the U.N.
00:22:44.000 and you're going to get a resolution?
00:22:46.000 Where?
00:22:46.000 From the Security Council?
00:22:47.000 Where China sits?
00:22:48.000 I'm sure that's going to go.
00:22:50.000 Wow.
00:22:50.000 A resolution from the U.N.
00:22:52.000 Huge, like enormous, enormous Joe Biden.
00:22:55.000 And he's the one who says he's tough on China?
00:22:56.000 Yeah, I think not.
00:22:57.000 How is that not a headline?
00:22:59.000 That he thinks that he's going to go to the U.N.
00:23:00.000 and condemn them at the U.N.? ?
00:23:02.000 Joe Biden, at a certain point, he's actually going to be forced to answer questions about his own policies.
00:23:06.000 So far, he has not been forced to do so because the media despise Trump so much that every Trumpian error is treated as the end of the world and every Biden error is treated as nothing, literally nothing, just turned into a non-story.
00:23:19.000 And it's no wonder if the American people never see the actual story, if they never see the actual clips, it's no wonder that they think that Joe Biden is a lot more stable than he is.
00:23:26.000 He is not a stable candidate.
00:23:28.000 He's not stable in terms of policy.
00:23:29.000 He's not stable in terms of his mental state.
00:23:33.000 The more you see it, if this were an open campaign, this race would be a lot closer because Joe Biden on the campaign trail would be gaffing like that every 35 seconds.
00:23:40.000 Every 35 seconds.
00:23:40.000 Not just the sort of mental acuity issues that he's been having, but simple statements that would be eating him alive.
00:23:46.000 I mean, he was always like this, guys.
00:23:49.000 I mean, go back to like his campaign in 2008.
00:23:50.000 He was going around a decade ago, a decade and a half ago, saying that Indian people run 7-Elevens, as though the only Indian person he'd ever met was Apu from The Simpsons.
00:24:00.000 This is who Joe Biden is.
00:24:02.000 The fact that he's considered a frontline, solid presidential candidate demonstrates how stupid everything is at this point.
00:24:07.000 In a second, we're going to get to how Democrats are twisting COVID policy, because again, the Trump campaign is basically behind the eight ball on COVID, and Democrats are going to keep pushing that.
00:24:16.000 They're rooting for lockdown.
00:24:17.000 They're rooting for lockdown and economic ruin.
00:24:18.000 I don't know how else to express this.
00:24:19.000 I'm going to show you the proof of that in just one second.
00:24:22.000 First, let us talk about the fact That there are some cases that are happening right now in the United States where if you defend your own property with a gun, there's a likelihood that you will be dragged into court.
00:24:31.000 We actually saw this in Missouri when two property owners went out there in the middle of what was going to be a riot.
00:24:36.000 People broke into a private gated community.
00:24:37.000 They went out there and they held up guns to basically say, you're not coming into our property.
00:24:42.000 And the local prosecutor in St.
00:24:43.000 Louis tried to prosecute them for that.
00:24:45.000 Well, the USCCA can help protect you from stuff like this.
00:24:47.000 The legal system is not fair.
00:24:49.000 Responsibly armed Americans often do become political targets.
00:24:52.000 It is not right that responsible Americans can wind up in jail or tied up in a lawsuit for defending themselves or their family.
00:24:57.000 But in this day and age, you need a gun to protect your family and yourself.
00:25:00.000 Here's how you can take a simple, powerful journey to firearms and self-defense confidence.
00:25:03.000 It's called the Complete Concealed Carry and Family Defense Guide from the U.S.
00:25:07.000 Concealed Carry Association.
00:25:08.000 It is 100% free.
00:25:10.000 You'll learn how to detect attackers before they see you, how to survive a mass shooting, the safest, most dangerous places to sit in a restaurant, how to responsibly own and store a gun, even if you have little kids, especially if you have little kids, a whole lot more.
00:25:20.000 It's 164 pages.
00:25:21.000 It comes with a bonus audio version so you can listen whenever you want.
00:25:25.000 Yeah, it's important right now, I mean, more than any time I can remember, to own a firearm so you can defend yourself, your family, your rights.
00:25:30.000 But you gotta know how to use it responsibly and store it responsibly.
00:25:33.000 USCCA helps you with all of this stuff.
00:25:35.000 Just text BEN to 87222 to get started.
00:25:37.000 You get instant access and a chance to win a thousand bucks so you can buy a gun to protect your family.
00:25:41.000 Text BEN to 87222 right now and join the USCCA.
00:25:45.000 Text BEN to 87222 right this very instant.
00:25:46.000 Okay, so.
00:25:50.000 One of the democratic policy pushes here is additional chaos when it comes to COVID.
00:25:56.000 So one of the things that is really in the offing here is a significant economic recovery.
00:26:01.000 The United States economy added 1.8 million jobs in July.
00:26:05.000 Unemployment fell to 10%.
00:26:06.000 This is despite the fact that we are now widely locked down continuing across the United States.
00:26:12.000 And the economy is still locked down in California.
00:26:13.000 It is still locked down in New York.
00:26:15.000 Many of the major economic hubs of the United States continue to be locked down.
00:26:19.000 The economy is basically attempting to break free right here.
00:26:24.000 I mean, that is what is going on.
00:26:26.000 And the only thing that is preventing the economy from breaking free are two things.
00:26:29.000 One, fear of COVID, some of which is legit and some of which is wildly exaggerated.
00:26:33.000 It is my opinion that if you are young and healthy and you're wearing a mask around other people when you are in crowded areas and you are socially distancing for the most part, you can go back to work and you should be going back to work.
00:26:42.000 And we should all be going back to the stores.
00:26:44.000 We should all be going back to the restaurants.
00:26:45.000 You can have half occupancy or whatever you need to do.
00:26:48.000 Keep the windows open.
00:26:49.000 But we should all be moving back toward normal.
00:26:51.000 And this notion that lockdowns are the solution is not correct.
00:26:55.000 Meanwhile, Democrats continue to push continuing lockdown.
00:26:58.000 Now, continuing lockdown, all the lockdown does is it delays the inevitable.
00:27:01.000 If you look at Hawaii right now, Hawaii has never opened up.
00:27:03.000 Hawaii's been locked down the entire time.
00:27:05.000 They're seeing exponential growth in case numbers in Hawaii.
00:27:08.000 They're seeing increases in France.
00:27:10.000 They're seeing increases in Japan.
00:27:11.000 They're seeing increases in Australia.
00:27:13.000 All the places that lockdown, all the places that have worn masks, many of them are starting to see outbreaks.
00:27:18.000 The bottom line is, you can only delay the virus, you cannot prevent the virus from moving through a population, which means that you need to protect the elderly, you need to protect the infirm, you need to protect those with serious pre-existing conditions, and everybody else needs to get back to work with as many precautions as we can take and still live normal lives.
00:27:35.000 None of this should be particularly controversial.
00:27:37.000 And the economy is waiting to break loose.
00:27:38.000 If the economy starts to break loose again, the problem for Democrats is there's a better shot that Trump is going to win.
00:27:42.000 And it's hard not to see this in extraordinarily political light.
00:27:45.000 Joe Biden keeps saying that he wants more lockdowns.
00:27:47.000 So yesterday, Joe Biden came out.
00:27:48.000 He said that if he were president, he would bring back the COVID lockdowns, which is patently crazy.
00:27:52.000 It's crazy.
00:27:53.000 Where is he going to bring them back?
00:27:54.000 New York?
00:27:54.000 They never stop being locked down in New York.
00:27:57.000 And New York's caseload is basically zero at this point.
00:28:00.000 New Jersey has a close to zero caseload.
00:28:02.000 In places where they did lockdown and never stopped the lockdown in Massachusetts, they're seeing an uptick anyway.
00:28:07.000 Lockdowns are not a solution.
00:28:08.000 All lockdowns are delay tactics.
00:28:10.000 Here is Joe Biden, though, saying that his easy solution would be to continue to lock down the American economy forever.
00:28:15.000 Again, the political incentive structure here is completely screwy.
00:28:18.000 The political incentive structure is for politicians to deliberately destroy individual lives and then bail people out through bucks that we do not have in order to say that they are protecting you.
00:28:28.000 Which is totally, it's crazy.
00:28:30.000 I mean, they're destroying thousands upon thousands of individual businesses every single month.
00:28:34.000 Here is Joe Biden, though, promoting lockdown again.
00:28:38.000 So based on what you see now, would you roll back the reopenings?
00:28:43.000 I'm not going to speculate on that, because I don't know what it's going to be.
00:28:46.000 Based on what you see now.
00:28:48.000 What I see now, I think we are.
00:28:50.000 If you were president today.
00:28:51.000 If I were president, oh, I'm sorry.
00:28:53.000 If I were president today, I would roll back the reopenings in a number of places, because look, Masks are, it's clear, masks and social distancing make a gigantic difference in terms of the spread of this disease.
00:29:09.000 He would roll back openings?
00:29:10.000 In which places would he roll them back?
00:29:12.000 Florida?
00:29:12.000 Texas?
00:29:13.000 Arizona?
00:29:13.000 They're already seeing the downshift.
00:29:15.000 Where are the reopenings that he's talking about?
00:29:18.000 None of this makes any sense, but the political incentive structure is aligned.
00:29:21.000 So, you push the lockdowns, you claim you're trying to save lives, and oh, by the way, if it ruins the economy and then we need massive government bailouts, great.
00:29:27.000 The second prong of this attack is being promoted by Nancy Pelosi.
00:29:29.000 So right now, Republicans have basically agreed with Democrats that we are going to spend an awful lot of money because we are forcing people into bankruptcy, we are forcing people into lockdown, and if you can't work, then you can't make money.
00:29:40.000 And so, Republicans, for the first time in my lifetime, basically, in widespread fashion, agree that some sort of government intervention is necessary in the economy in order to ensure that people don't go completely without.
00:29:52.000 So that means that the Republicans were willing to basically extend, in clean fashion, unemployment insurance for a couple more months at $600 per week.
00:29:58.000 Originally, they proposed a couple hundred bucks a week because they don't want to pay people to stay home.
00:30:02.000 It turns out that if we pay everybody through January $600 a week, four out of five American workers would actually be making more, I believe the statistic was.
00:30:10.000 Four out of five American workers currently unemployed would be making more on unemployment than they would be if they went back to work.
00:30:15.000 If you continue this through January, Democrats are pushing for that.
00:30:18.000 Democrats are also pushing for spending on every area of American life.
00:30:21.000 They want $3.4 trillion more spent this month.
00:30:24.000 By the way, they have not even fully spent all the money that was sent to the states in the last tranche of spending.
00:30:31.000 And Republicans are going along with all this.
00:30:32.000 Republicans have caved on a lot of the state and local funding, which they should not.
00:30:36.000 The federal government is not responsible for bailing out crappy government contracts created by California and New York.
00:30:41.000 The Republicans have basically caved on the unemployment money when the states have not even fully dispersed their unemployment money yet.
00:30:48.000 I know people in California who have filed for unemployment in California, still not received their checks from the last tranche.
00:30:54.000 Republicans are caving left and right because Steve Mnuchin, the Treasury Secretary, is not a Republican.
00:30:59.000 So he's out there being like, OK, fine, Nancy, what do you want?
00:31:02.000 You want this?
00:31:03.000 Sure, we'll give it to you.
00:31:04.000 You want that?
00:31:04.000 Sure, we'll give it to you.
00:31:05.000 And Nancy Pelosi, because her political interest is in not getting a deal done so she can blame Trump, is still holding up the works.
00:31:11.000 This is the second or third time she's done this.
00:31:14.000 Remember, on the first round of relief, Nancy Pelosi Stopped a deal that had already been cut between the Senate Majority Leader and the Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer, so that you could dilly-dally for a week.
00:31:26.000 For a week!
00:31:27.000 And she said that she was trying to make the deal better.
00:31:29.000 She didn't make the deal better.
00:31:30.000 It ended up exactly where it started.
00:31:32.000 Now Nancy Pelosi's doing the same thing.
00:31:33.000 She's negotiating against no one because no one's actually pushing back against her.
00:31:37.000 The only concession Democrats have offered thus far is that they want to spend slightly less on the post office.
00:31:41.000 That's it.
00:31:42.000 That's the only concession.
00:31:43.000 Republicans have conceded on nearly every other point, and Nancy Pelosi's still trying to gum up the works.
00:31:48.000 So Nancy Pelosi was asked about this by Judy Woodruff.
00:31:51.000 Now, let's be clear about this.
00:31:52.000 Judy Woodruff, who works for what?
00:31:55.000 PBS News?
00:31:56.000 So, Judy Woodruff is no right-winger.
00:31:58.000 When I say she's no right-winger, I mean Judy Woodruff is a leftist, okay?
00:32:00.000 She's been a liberal journalist for a very long time.
00:32:03.000 And Judy Woodruff asked, like, a very basic question to Pelosi, and Pelosi doesn't want to be asked that question.
00:32:07.000 Because it demonstrates that she is a full-scale political actor who would prefer to watch Americans go without, rather than letting Trump take credit for preventing people from going under.
00:32:18.000 I mean, this is very nasty politics.
00:32:19.000 It's so much that Nancy Pelosi goes after Judy Woodruff and suggests that Judy Woodruff is basically a Republican, which is patently crazy.
00:32:26.000 Here's Judy Woodruff asking a basic question, and Nancy Pelosi, then sure as all fallen out, trying to explain that Judy Woodruff is a bad person for even asking.
00:32:35.000 And they're also saying a lot of the money that was passed in the spring, Madam Speaker, has not even been spent yet.
00:32:41.000 Well, if you want to be an advocate for them, Judy, if you want to be an advocate for them, that's not what the facts are.
00:32:47.000 I'm playing devil's advocate here to ask you for your position.
00:32:52.000 Again, and she doesn't want to give the position.
00:32:54.000 She simply does not want to give the position because the position is obvious.
00:32:57.000 She doesn't want the relief package to move forward because if a relief package moves forward, then She doesn't get to claim that Republicans are obstructing.
00:33:07.000 She's the one who's obstructing.
00:33:08.000 Again, this is like the third time she's done this.
00:33:10.000 I think she did it again with the second package.
00:33:12.000 So, it's pretty obvious the Democratic aim.
00:33:15.000 Push lockdown, and then try to block Republicans from filling in the gaps created by lockdown.
00:33:20.000 And then finally, there's an overarching change the Democrats are pushing here.
00:33:24.000 Every crisis is an opportunity.
00:33:26.000 Michelle Obama yesterday said the quiet part out loud.
00:33:27.000 We'll get to Michelle Obama, who's becoming more and more political.
00:33:30.000 Have you noticed?
00:33:30.000 Have you noticed that Michelle Obama, she started off her career being extremely political.
00:33:34.000 Barack's gonna heal your souls.
00:33:35.000 I've never been proud of this country until the moment they nominated my husband.
00:33:39.000 And she was very radical back in her early days.
00:33:41.000 Her college thesis was extraordinarily radical about the inherent racism of the United States.
00:33:46.000 I believe it was about when she was at Princeton.
00:33:48.000 And then she went into Michelle Obama.
00:33:51.000 She kind of did the Hillary Clinton makeover, right?
00:33:52.000 Hillary Clinton back when she was first lady.
00:33:54.000 She started off, I'm not Tammy Wynette.
00:33:56.000 Stay at home.
00:33:56.000 Stay by your man.
00:33:58.000 Let's talk about how important it is to protect your online data.

00:35:23.000 Okay, it is that glorious time of the week when I give a shout-out to a Daily Wire member.
00:35:29.000 It is that time.
00:35:30.000 Today, it is Matteo on Instagram who understands the power of narrative.
00:35:33.000 In this picture, the world's greatest beverage vessel rests on a table next to a copy of my brand new best-selling book, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.
00:35:40.000 The caption reads, After I completed reading the book, which fully debunks the ideology of the left with nothing but facts, Which specifically do not care about your feelings.
00:35:47.000 I found it necessary and correct to enjoy a cup of black rifle coffee as I gazed into my cupboard.
00:35:52.000 One vessel shone above the others.
00:35:54.000 It was the most elite beverage vessel of them all.
00:35:56.000 A tumbler unlike any other.
00:35:57.000 It was the leftist Sears tumbler.
00:35:58.000 The choice was clear.
00:35:59.000 I knew what must be done as I poured the rich dark caffeinated nectar.
00:36:02.000 I looked to my window to behold an awesome sight.
00:36:05.000 A bearded man mounted upon a bald eagle had flown across my neighborhood.
00:36:08.000 In one hand he held a Bible, in the other was Old Glory.
00:36:10.000 Could it be Old Abe himself?
00:36:12.000 I thought as I continued to pour my luscious beverage.
00:36:14.000 I can only assume it was the sheer level of patriotism accomplished this day that drew him to pass by.
00:36:20.000 As the first sip of coffee hit my lips, I saw red, white, and blue fireworks on the horizon.
00:36:23.000 I heard in the distance the melody of the Tsar Spangled Banner and breathed in the aroma of pure freedom.
00:36:28.000 Thank you, Official Ben Shapiro.
00:36:31.000 Wow.
00:36:32.000 Wow, that's beautiful.
00:36:33.000 I think I'm going to cry.
00:36:35.000 Well done, my friend.
00:36:36.000 That is just, that's amazing.
00:36:37.000 Also, prose stylings, the like of which we have not seen since Hemingway.
00:36:41.000 Ernest Hemingway.
00:36:43.000 Thanks for the pick.
00:36:43.000 I hope that you are enjoying the book, which, by the way, is number three on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list again this week.
00:36:48.000 So thanks for that.
00:36:49.000 If you haven't picked up a copy of the book, go do it right now.
00:36:50.000 How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.
00:36:53.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:36:57.000 Alrighty, so Michelle Obama, who has become more and more political, like a couple of weeks ago, she did a graduation speech in which she claimed that you cannot get ahead.
00:37:13.000 Like, literally, it's impossible.
00:37:14.000 People in the United States simply cannot get ahead.
00:37:17.000 Her direct quote, I believe, was, quote, The truth is, when it comes to all those tidy stories of hard work and self-determination, we like to tell ourselves about America, well, the reality is a lot more complicated than that, said Michelle Obama just a couple weeks ago.
00:37:29.000 For too many people in this country, no matter how hard they work, there are structural barriers working against them that just make the road longer and rockier.
00:37:35.000 Sometimes it's impossible to move upward at all.
00:37:38.000 And that is a very political statement from a woman who, again, grew up kind of middle class.
00:37:44.000 Her dad was a city worker.
00:37:45.000 Her mom was a homemaker.
00:37:47.000 And then she ended up at Princeton and Harvard Law School, ended up working at a law firm, making a bunch of money, married the president, the future president of the United States, is now probably the best-selling nonfiction author of the last 20 years.
00:37:56.000 Seems like there's been some upward mobility in her life.
00:37:58.000 Seems like there's an upward mobility in a lot of our lives.
00:38:00.000 But Michelle Obama is a very political figure.
00:38:02.000 If you believe she will not run for president at some point in the future, I think you have another thing coming.
00:38:06.000 In any case, Michelle Obama completes the trifecta of coronavirus policy here.
00:38:11.000 So remember, when it comes to the Democrats, they have to rely on COVID to bring Trump down.
00:38:16.000 I mean, I think that that is what's going on here.
00:38:18.000 I used to think there was some good faith.
00:38:20.000 I no longer think that because good faith Would assume some basic premises about coronavirus.
00:38:24.000 One, there's no great way to handle it.
00:38:26.000 Two, everybody is doing their best to prevent loss of life and prevent loss of the economy.
00:38:31.000 And three, to blame any single person for a disease that no country has control over is insane.
00:38:37.000 But Democrats have decided to ignore all of these things.
00:38:39.000 And now they're openly militating for policy that has not been successful.
00:38:42.000 They're suggesting that places that are utterly unsuccessful are successful, like New Jersey and New York.
00:38:46.000 And they're pretending that they have all the solutions.
00:38:48.000 So they've come up with this sort of three-pronged attack.
00:38:50.000 One is Joe Biden's remove the lockdowns.
00:38:53.000 Two is Nancy Pelosi's, I'm going to block any of the funding necessary to stop the worst of the fallout, so I can blame Republicans.
00:38:59.000 And three, Sadavoce.
00:39:02.000 We are hoping that this completely reshifts the nature of American government.
00:39:04.000 That's what Michelle Obama said yesterday.
00:39:06.000 She said, COVID is a great opportunity to change how wealth is distributed, which is insane.
00:39:12.000 Insane.
00:39:13.000 If COVID has done anything, it has shifted more wealth toward the wealthier.
00:39:16.000 Okay, let's be real about this.
00:39:17.000 If you are a high-net-income person in the United States, chances are you're probably still working right now.
00:39:22.000 If you're a white-collar worker, a lot better shot that you are working than if you're a blue-collar worker.
00:39:26.000 Low-income people have been thrown out of work.
00:39:28.000 That is what has happened.
00:39:30.000 People who have money in the stock market are doing basically okay, because you know what all the rich people did?
00:39:33.000 They didn't sell their stocks when the stock market crashed.
00:39:36.000 They just bought everybody else's stock when those people had to liquidate their stock in order to pay their bills.
00:39:41.000 Coronavirus has exacerbated income inequality in this country.
00:39:44.000 And that is government-driven.
00:39:45.000 A lot of that is government-driven.
00:39:46.000 But Michelle Obama says COVID's a great opportunity because every crisis is an opportunity for Democrats.
00:39:51.000 Michelle Obama said COVID's a great opportunity to change how wealth is distributed in the United States.
00:39:55.000 That's the real agenda here.
00:39:57.000 That's a part of that reflection that we need to do, you know, with ourselves and as a community.
00:40:06.000 And we have to think about that in terms of how wealth is distributed, you know, how these essential people are supported.
00:40:17.000 And what does that mean?
00:40:18.000 A lot of these people are broke.
00:40:25.000 The amazing attempt here to shift the entire American conversation around an unprecedented pandemic that no one has full control over.
00:40:33.000 And to turn that into, we have to have a conversation about completely reshifting the nature of American government.
00:40:37.000 That's opportunism at its finest.
00:40:40.000 And so that's the Democratic platform.
00:40:41.000 Shut it all down.
00:40:42.000 Try to block Republicans from doing anything to stop that.
00:40:45.000 And then say that we need to reshift the entire American economy.
00:40:48.000 It is fairly incredible how so many people fall for this.
00:40:52.000 It really is.
00:40:53.000 Every time government fails, the solution is always more government.
00:40:56.000 It's an unfalsifiable theory.
00:40:58.000 The government has forcibly shut down millions of businesses all around the United States.
00:41:03.000 The government has put tens of millions of people out of work.
00:41:06.000 And then the government has incompetently attempted to backfill some of that, and the solution from the Democrats is more government?
00:41:13.000 If you fall for that one, you kind of deserve what you get.
00:41:15.000 I mean, frankly, if you fall for the idea that government is going to fix all the problems that government helped create in the first place, and you don't think that individual initiative and self-assessment and a realistic appraisal of your own situation is the best answer, then you deserve to be controlled from above.
00:41:28.000 I don't know what else to tell you.
00:41:30.000 Okay, meanwhile, over in New York, it's amazing how many people in the media have declared that Republicans are fascists.
00:41:36.000 Trump is a fascist.
00:41:37.000 He's a bad, bad orange man.
00:41:39.000 He's Orange Hitler and all the rest of this stuff.
00:41:41.000 What is the evidence for Trump being a fascist?
00:41:42.000 He tweets things.
00:41:43.000 He tweets stupid things like he wants to delay the election, which is indeed a silly and fascistic thing to say.
00:41:49.000 He does not have the power to delay the election, to pretend otherwise.
00:41:52.000 He's ridiculous and undermines faith in our democratic institutions.
00:41:56.000 Meanwhile, Democrats are overtly violating certain requirements that we normally have of people in public life.
00:42:03.000 So over in New York, Letitia James, the New York Attorney General, she's now attempting to dissolve the NRA.
00:42:09.000 Now, here's the thing.
00:42:11.000 She said for a while she just wants to go after the NRA.
00:42:12.000 She called the NRA a terrorist group a couple of years ago when she first took office as AG.
00:42:17.000 She vowed openly to target Trump.
00:42:18.000 She also, by the way, vowed to target the NRA.
00:42:20.000 So this is pure political targeting.
00:42:22.000 Couple things can be true.
00:42:23.000 One, there can be serious, real corruption problems over the NRA.
00:42:26.000 And two, when the New York AG decides to dissolve the NRA, that has nothing to do with the corruption problems and everything to do with this particular AG using the power of her office to target political opponents.
00:42:38.000 Here was Letitia James announcing a lawsuit to dissolve the NRA yesterday.
00:42:41.000 Just a few minutes ago, my office filed a lawsuit against the National Rifle Association to dissolve the organization in its entirety for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct that violate New York's charities law.
00:43:01.000 And now the real reason she's doing this is because there's a widespread perception in democratic circles that the NRA spends tons and tons of money during election cycles.
00:43:10.000 They don't.
00:43:11.000 They spend like 18, 20 million dollars during a normal presidential election cycle as compared to like Michael Bloomberg who will drop a hundred million dollars in an election cycle himself alone.
00:43:20.000 Okay, but let's be real about this.
00:43:21.000 Letitia James said when she took office that she was going to specifically target Trump, which is a violation of a prosecutorial duty.
00:43:28.000 Normally you hunt for a crime.
00:43:29.000 You don't hunt for somebody you don't like and then try and pin a crime on them.
00:43:32.000 Here's a flashback of Letitia James vowing to target Trump when she took office.
00:43:36.000 Never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president.
00:43:39.000 What is fueling my soul right now is Trump and his abuses.
00:43:43.000 Abuses against immigrants, against women, against our environment.
00:43:47.000 We must do our job to ensure that the man currently occupying the Oval Office is held accountable to any and everything he has done.
00:43:57.000 I mean, that's it.
00:43:58.000 If you want to talk about fascism, fascism is electing a DA, specifically arguing they're going to go after a person they have not identified a crime about.
00:44:06.000 I mean, that's pretty incredible.
00:44:08.000 She said that about Trump.
00:44:09.000 She also said similar things about the NRA.
00:44:10.000 And now she's going after the NRA.
00:44:12.000 And the media are just cheering.
00:44:13.000 The media are like, oh, look, hero, hero time for Letitia James.
00:44:17.000 If that doesn't scare you, I really do not know what would.
00:44:21.000 And if Democrats love this sort of stuff, wait until Republican age, you start doing the same thing.
00:44:24.000 Going after Planned Parenthood and attempting to dissolve Planned Parenthood on a state-by-state basis, saying that there are corruption issues inside Planned Parenthood.
00:44:30.000 The death penalty remedy, as the Wall Street Journal put it, right, it's a death penalty remedy to dissolve the entire organization.
00:44:35.000 She's not going after Wayne LaPierre.
00:44:37.000 She's not going after the other members of the board.
00:44:38.000 She's trying to dissolve the organization utterly.
00:44:41.000 That's a pretty, it's a pretty clear indicator that she's giving the game away.
00:44:45.000 President Trump, for his part, says, I don't even know why the NRA is organized in New York.
00:44:48.000 They should move to Texas.
00:44:51.000 That's a very terrible thing that just happened.
00:44:56.000 I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life.
00:45:03.000 And I've told them that for a long time.
00:45:04.000 I think they should move to Texas.
00:45:07.000 Texas would be a great place or to another state of their choosing.
00:45:12.000 But I would say that Texas would be a great place and an appropriate place for the NRA.
00:45:17.000 Hey, he ain't wrong about this.
00:45:18.000 That is for sure.
00:45:19.000 OK, meanwhile, I have to discuss this bizarre controversy that broke out online.
00:45:22.000 It wasn't covered as much as it should be because it truly is indicative of where we stand in American public life.
00:45:28.000 We now live in a time When power politics is significantly more important than truth.
00:45:32.000 And you can see this from both sides of the aisle.
00:45:34.000 But I will say that the deconstructionist wing of the Democratic Party, the radical wing of the Democratic Party, the sort of the sort of social justice warrior, critical race studies wing of the Democratic Party.
00:45:44.000 Has really decided to prioritize power structures and power dynamics over truth.
00:45:50.000 This is why you see people suggesting that any inequality is inequity.
00:45:53.000 It's why you see people completely ignoring statistics in order to push a narrative.
00:45:57.000 Because in the end, all that matters is power.
00:46:00.000 The story that brought this to a head was this bizarre, bizarre debate that happened last weekend on Twitter over whether, I kid you not, 2 plus 2 equals 4.
00:46:08.000 Now, I know what you're saying to yourself.
00:46:10.000 Doesn't 2 plus 2 equal 4?
00:46:11.000 Why is that controversial?
00:46:12.000 The answer is because if you live in the world of critical race theory, if you live in the world of Derrida and Michel Foucault and their philosophy of deconstructionism, then all truth is subjective.
00:46:24.000 There is no such thing as an objective truth.
00:46:26.000 So 2 plus 2 could theoretically equal 5.
00:46:28.000 There's a professor named James Lindsay, and all of this controversy started when he had a text exchange with another person about postmodernism and what they think about objective claims about the world.
00:46:39.000 His friend asked him at one point what postmodernists would say about the contention that 2 plus 2 equals 4.
00:46:44.000 And this professor, James Lindsay, who's a professor of mathematics, he says, I told her that they would say that 2 plus 2 does not equal 5.
00:46:52.000 They would say 2 plus 2 equals doesn't matter so long as what it equals is not constrained by hegemonic discourses.
00:46:58.000 Meaning that 2 plus 2 could equal 5, it could not equal 5.
00:47:01.000 It all depends on what the Westerners say.
00:47:03.000 If the Westerners say 2 plus 2 equals 4, that is now an intellectual construct that must be torn down at the root.
00:47:09.000 So, says James Lindsay, that answer is basic postmodernism, and it has infused so much of wild left-wing thought.
00:47:13.000 equal whatever people want it to equal, and we should be very skeptical of the idea that it equals four because so much political dominance is already built into that answer and how it is obtained.
00:47:21.000 That answer is basic postmodernism, and it has infused so much of wild left-wing thought.
00:47:27.000 Well, what happened here is that Nicole Hannah-Jones, who's the de facto editor of the New York Times, she decided to make fun of the idea that two plus two equals four, saying, using Arabic numerals to try to make a point about white Western superiority is just so damn classic.
00:47:44.000 Which is kind of crazy.
00:47:46.000 Okay, so what was happening is that somebody said 2 plus 2 equals 4, and then somebody else tweeted back, well, according to deconstructionists, 2 plus 2 could equal 5 because math is just a western construct.
00:47:58.000 And then Nicole Hannah-Jones, because she's a crazy person, tweeted back, using Arabic numerals to try to make a point about white western superiority is just so damn classic.
00:48:05.000 No, there's nothing white western or superior about the contention that 2 plus 2 equals 4.
00:48:10.000 But if you see the world purely in terms of power structures, then everything that is ever said is merely a manifestation of power.
00:48:17.000 It's merely a manifestation of power.
00:48:19.000 And so when people came forth to defend the proposition that 2 plus 2 does objectively equal 4, a bunch of randos in the academic community began tweeting out the idea that 2 plus 2 does not, in fact, equal 4.
00:48:32.000 A PhD student named Brittany Marshall Insisted quote the idea of two plus two equaling four is cultural and because of Western imperialism and colonization We think of it as the only way of knowing Now we've seen stuff like this actually being taught at like the Smithsonian Institute.
00:48:47.000 That the basic idea of science or math is a Western construct.
00:48:51.000 That is the most racist garbage ever.
00:48:53.000 But if the idea is that all knowledge is merely a manifestation of the peculiar minds of the power structure, then it means that truth is of no consequence whatsoever.
00:49:01.000 Anything can be not true so long as it is said by a white person or is a manifestation of the white power structure.
00:49:06.000 And so in politics, truth doesn't matter.
00:49:09.000 The objective truth of a statement doesn't exist.
00:49:11.000 It is just a bunch of white people saying something.
00:49:13.000 This is why you see so many people in the critical justice, the critical race studies program, the critical race theory, the Ibram Kendi's and the Robin DiAngelo's basically say that objective truth doesn't exist.
00:49:22.000 Anything that I want to be is, and if you deny it, it's because you're a racist who assumes cultural superiority.
00:49:28.000 This is dangerous stuff.
00:49:29.000 It's this little controversy which completely blew up over the weekend.
00:49:31.000 I mean, 2 plus 2 equals 4 is actually trending on Twitter.
00:49:34.000 This is how far we have come as a civilization, to deny basic truth in exchange for the principle that all truth is basically subjective and is replaceable by power structures.
00:49:45.000 And so we have to shift away from the notion that we can have... I mean, all conversation ends at this point.
00:49:49.000 It is just a question of certain people clubbing other people to death, politically and intellectually speaking.
00:49:55.000 Alrighty, so we'll be back here a little bit later today with two additional hours of content.
00:49:59.000 Also, I am doing a late-breaking All Access today, so if you want to become an All Access member, head on over to Daily Wire.
00:50:03.000 I believe we have some deals over there for our All Access members.
00:50:06.000 Also, as you approach the weekend, please pick up a copy of my book, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.
00:50:11.000 It continues to be a massive national bestseller, and we always appreciate you joining in.
00:50:15.000 I think the book is really, really important, and I think that you'll Get something out of it.
00:50:18.000 I think you should buy one for your liberal friends, too, because it really is not about left versus right so much as people who want to keep the country together versus people who would like to break the country apart.
00:50:26.000 So go check out a copy of my book, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.
00:50:28.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here on Monday.

00:51:01.000 You know, the Matt Wall Show, it's not just another show about politics.
00:51:04.000 I think there are enough of those already out there.
00:51:06.000 We talk about culture, because culture drives politics, and it drives everything else.
00:51:11.000 So my main focuses are life, family, faith.
00:51:16.000 Those are fundamental, and that's what this show is about.
