The Ben Shapiro Show - The White House vs. Tucker Carlson

00:00:00.000 The Biden White House goes after Tucker Carlson by name as other media members unleash their rage.

00:00:04.000 Joe Biden celebrates International Women's Day by giving a medal to a dude.

00:00:08.000 And the Justice Department cracks down on the Louisville Police Department.

00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:11.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:12.000 Well, Tucker Carlson has ticked off all of the right people, apparently.

00:00:24.000 So Tucker was given access to 41,000 hours of footage of the January 6th riots and what was going on inside the Capitol building by Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker of the House.

00:00:33.000 And this was considered very, very controversial.

00:00:35.000 It was considered controversial because how dare he give access?

00:00:37.000 To Justin Tucker Carlson.

00:00:39.000 Well, as it turns out, the January 6th committee is now admitting that even they did not bother watching the videos.

00:00:45.000 They had some of their staffers watch the videos that they themselves did not attempt to gain access to the videos.

00:00:50.000 Elena Treen, who's a political reporter at CNN, reported this morning that Kevin McCarthy has now granted lawmakers the option to view the Capitol footage from January 6th if they request to see it.

00:00:58.000 Marjorie Taylor Greene told CNN, quote, any one of us can go.

00:01:01.000 You just have to schedule the time with the Speaker's office.

00:01:03.000 I'm scheduled to go.

00:01:04.000 I can take my staff with me.

00:01:06.000 Green said she doesn't know who's all in the room or if the U.S.

00:01:08.000 Capitol Police will be there, but said there are instructions her team has been given, including how to view the videos because there are so many hours.

00:01:13.000 Benny Thompson, here's the key part, Benny Thompson, who is the former chair of the January 6th committee, said lawmakers were never given that type of access to the footage last Congress.

00:01:22.000 So even the January 6th committee is admitting that other members of Congress were not given access to the footage that Tucker showed the other night, which is kind of mind boggling.

00:01:31.000 Again, Congress is Congress.

00:01:33.000 It's not supposed to be secret committees inside Congress.

00:01:36.000 When we are talking about an incident that affected all of America and that was put on all of our TVs on January 6th, Thompson's quoted strictly a new policy that the new speaker has put in place.

00:01:46.000 Thompson said he doesn't think any of the January 6th members themselves ever had access to the footage.

00:01:51.000 They only let staff view it.

00:01:52.000 So apparently, even the Capitol Police only allowed the staff of these committee members to view it, but the members of the staff themselves did not view it.

00:01:58.000 He said, I'm actually not aware of any member of the committee who had access.

00:02:02.000 We had a team of employees who kind of went through the video.

00:02:05.000 So, in other words, you were just kind of talking heads on behalf of ABC producers you guys gave access to.

00:02:12.000 And somehow, that is significantly better than Speaker McCarthy giving access to all of the congresspeople and also Tucker Carlson?

00:02:19.000 That's somehow significantly better. 0.97

00:02:20.000 You don't get to play a stupid game in which you do a thing to one side, then the other side does the same thing, and it's bad when the other side does it. 0.97

00:02:26.000 That's not how any of this works. 0.98

00:02:28.000 Well, the White House has now gotten particularly upset with Tucker Carlson, and they have called him out by name.

00:02:32.000 Now, this is not the first time that we've had a White House call out members of the right by name.

00:02:37.000 Barack Obama used to do this on the regular with Rush Limbaugh.

00:02:40.000 He would just cite Rush Limbaugh as kind of the font head of all evil.

00:02:43.000 Well, Tucker has become the new font head of all evil for this White House.

00:02:46.000 They're particularly upset that Tucker showed footage of QAnon shaman walking around the Capitol building.

00:02:51.000 He was one of the first 30 people to break in, but then he's walking around and the police officers are guiding him.

00:02:55.000 They say this is a de-escalation tactic.

00:02:57.000 Okay, fine.

00:02:58.000 Also, it kind of is weird.

00:03:00.000 And not only is it kind of weird, there's tons of footage of people, like large crowds, kind of walking through the Capitol building.

00:03:06.000 In other words, the footage from outside, which appears to be extremely violent and extremely chaotic, is not mirrored altogether by a lot of the footage inside, thereafter, in which people are kind of walking the halls, and many of them are not defacing things.

00:03:18.000 Again, it's not as though the riots didn't happen.

00:03:20.000 The riots definitely happened.

00:03:21.000 The question is whether we were told the whole story, and the answer is we weren't told the whole story, and that footage was never revealed to the public at all.

00:03:28.000 And now Tucker is being raked over the coals for this.

00:03:30.000 Now the question is whether he's being raked over the coals for the angle that he's taking on it, which many people are suggesting downplays the idea there were riots at all, or whether he's being raked over the coals for revealing the footage.

00:03:42.000 And it seems more like the latter.

00:03:44.000 The White House went directly after Tucker Carlson by name yesterday.

00:03:48.000 Of course, they went to their friends at Politico.

00:03:50.000 Quote, In comments first shared with Politico, the White House joined Republican Senate leaders and Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger, who a day earlier assailed Carlson's broadcast of selected assault footage as, quote, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said, We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented violent attack on our Constitution and the rule of law, which cost police officers their lives.

00:04:12.000 We also agree with what Fox News' own attorneys and executives have now repeatedly stressed in multiple courts of law that Tucker Carlson is not credible.

00:04:18.000 So they are now going directly after one particular host.

00:04:22.000 Now, I was informed during the Trump administration that attacks on the press meant the death of the republic.

00:04:28.000 Democracy dies in darkness, as the Washington Post suggested.

00:04:31.000 Any attempt to frame the press as quote-unquote the enemy of the people, which is a phrase that Trump liked to use a lot, That was absolutely an assault on the First Amendment.

00:04:38.000 It was violating our most cherished and deeply held beliefs.

00:04:41.000 Right now you have the White House essentially going after one guy and suggesting by name that that guy is not credible.

00:04:48.000 And then you have the Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer going out publicly and suggesting that he should be taken off the air.

00:04:53.000 Yeah, it seems to me that there's only one reason that the White House is really doing this.

00:04:57.000 And it's not because they think that Tucker Carlson should actually be taken off the air.

00:05:00.000 The reason they are doing this is because they actually enjoy controversies around January 6th because it means that people are talking about January 6th.

00:05:07.000 And that is actually what the White House wants.

00:05:09.000 Joe Biden wants nothing more than for January 6th to be the topic of discussion all the way up through the next election cycle.

00:05:15.000 He thinks that that'll ride him back to the White House.

00:05:17.000 And then maybe a smart political strategy, it also happens to be really, really toxic.

00:05:22.000 Because the fact of the matter is that we all at this point should know what happened on January 6th.

00:05:26.000 There was a riot.

00:05:28.000 People got violent with police.

00:05:29.000 It was not all the people who were at the rally, the original rally for Trump, not even remotely.

00:05:33.000 And many of the people who entered the Capitol building were in fact trespassing, but were not in fact there to do violence.

00:05:39.000 They were not there to beat up Congress people.

00:05:41.000 There were some people who were.

00:05:42.000 There were people there who were threatening violence and doing that sort of stuff.

00:05:45.000 That was not everybody who was in the Capitol.

00:05:47.000 All those things can be held in your mind at once.

00:05:50.000 But the idea, as always, is that the American people can only handle a single black and white narrative and there can't be any shades of gray or any complexity to any situation at all.

00:05:59.000 There's no nuance whatsoever.

00:06:00.000 And the White House likes that fight. 0.81

00:06:02.000 The White House enjoys that fight because, again, their goal is to portray everybody who's on the other side of the aisle as a rioter.

00:06:11.000 It's tied up in a broader narrative that they have generated.

00:06:14.000 Which is that not only was everyone there that day a rioter, all the ralliers were essentially rioters, even if they weren't.

00:06:20.000 And all the Republicans who voted for Trump were essentially ralliers who were also rioters.

00:06:24.000 And so by the transit of property, everybody who voted for Donald Trump was in favor of rioting.

00:06:30.000 Now, if it turns out that a fraction of the ralliers were rioters and that a fraction of the rioters We're the ones who are like the most violent and that many of the people who are riding were actually just trespassing.

00:06:42.000 Well, then that kind of breaks down the narrative.

00:06:44.000 This was a dire threat to the Republic and that the entire democracy was in danger.

00:06:47.000 And the only way to protect democracy from the predations of Donald Trump and his crew is to elect Joe Biden and allow them untrammeled power.

00:06:54.000 That narrative starts to fall apart.

00:06:56.000 The smaller those numbers get.

00:06:57.000 And that's why people are so angry at Tucker for having revealed That footage in the first place.

00:07:02.000 Again, you can disagree with the angle that Tucker took on the footage.

00:07:05.000 I disagree with a lot of the angle that Tucker took on the footage.

00:07:07.000 But that doesn't change the underlying fact, which is that the generalized narrative that January 6th was, as the White House suggested, the worst attack on democracy since the Civil War, is not true.

00:07:16.000 And it's very hard to maintain that perspective in light of the footage of people walking down cordoned lines through the halls of the Capitol building with police officers standing on either side in some cases.

00:07:29.000 We'll get to the media response, which has been just overwrought in the extreme in just one second.

00:07:34.000 First, it's tough to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

00:07:36.000 The reality is that you have a busy day, and then you're being told that you need to eat basically nothing but fruits and vegetables. 0.96

00:07:42.000 And I'm of the personal belief that God's punishment to humanity was making vegetables healthy, because the reality is they taste like garbage.

00:07:48.000 So what exactly are people like me, people with a child's palate, supposed to do?

00:07:53.000 What are we supposed to do when we want to have stuff that tastes good and also we want to be healthy?

00:07:56.000 Well, one answer is balance of nature.

00:07:58.000 Balance of nature fruits and veggies are the best way to make sure that you're getting essential nutritional ingredients every single day.

00:08:03.000 Their products are 100% whole food.

00:08:05.000 Balance of nature uses a cold vacuum process that preserves the natural phytonutrients in whole fruits and vegetables and encapsulates them for easy consumption.

00:08:12.000 Balance of Nature sent a bunch of their product down to the studio for my team to try.

00:08:14.000 We love them.

00:08:15.000 I was excited to find out that they are kosher so I can use them myself.

00:08:17.000 Go to balanceofnature.com.

00:08:19.000 Use promo code SHAPIRO for 35% off your first order as a preferred customer.

00:08:23.000 That's balanceofnature.com.

00:08:24.000 Promo code SHAPIRO for 35% off your first preferred order.

00:08:28.000 Again, balanceofnature.com.

00:08:30.000 Promo code SHAPIRO and get that great deal.

00:08:32.000 35% off your first preferred order.

00:08:34.000 Okay, so.

00:08:36.000 Members of the media, of course, because Democrat media complex exists, they are going full bore against Tucker.

00:08:42.000 Of course, they've disliked Tucker for a long time.

00:08:43.000 That's not a shock.

00:08:44.000 But the amount of vitriol that they are now unleashing is truly wild.

00:08:50.000 It's truly kind of insane.

00:08:51.000 So Whoopi Goldberg, who is, again, one of the least smart people in American public life, she suggested that the U.S. 0.78

00:08:58.000 government should actually investigate Fox News over Tucker Carlson's broadcasts.

00:09:02.000 How come this is not thought of as being recruiting?

00:09:10.000 How come they're not thinking about this as radicalizing?

00:09:13.000 Why is this not being scrutinized the way that they scrutinize other things?

00:09:20.000 Because to me, this should be against the law.

00:09:23.000 You should not be able to lie to the American, knowingly.

00:09:33.000 I'm what?

00:09:34.000 So it should be against the law for Tucker to broadcast what he broadcasts?

00:09:39.000 I wonder how Whoopi would feel about that if Donald Trump were president.

00:09:42.000 I mean, right now, the left is lying and maintaining that Ron DeSantis is violating First Amendment freedoms in Florida.

00:09:48.000 He's not.

00:09:48.000 But at the same time, they're going out and suggesting that Tucker Carlson should be literally jailed, presumably, for the kinds of broadcasts that he is doing.

00:09:57.000 Who's the threat to democracy again?

00:09:59.000 Is it Tucker?

00:09:59.000 Is Tucker the threat to democracy here?

00:10:01.000 Or is it more people like Whoopi who are more than happy to unleash the authoritarianism so long as it targets their political opponents?

00:10:07.000 Meanwhile, you have Jon Stewart, Who, yeah, whatever talent he had has been washed out.

00:10:13.000 I mean, he himself looks like he's gone through a dishwasher a few times and whatever talent Stewart has is now gone.

00:10:19.000 He's become basically in somewhat elderly gentleman ranting at things he doesn't like without any of the wry humor that used to characterize his message.

00:10:28.000 And his substitute for humor, because this is the laziest form of humor, is just dirty talk.

00:10:35.000 When you are a lazy comedian, you have to rely a lot on curse words, on sexual imagery. 0.79

00:10:42.000 Good comedians don't have to do that.

00:10:43.000 Jon Stewart is no longer a good comedian, and so you have to rely purely on shock value.

00:10:47.000 So he's going to do that in criticizing Fox News and Tucker.

00:10:51.000 With the Dominion scandal, I mean, is that a defamation?

00:10:55.000 I mean, to say, right, so that's why this stuff's coming out.

00:10:59.000 That's right.

00:11:00.000 It's the only reason why it's coming out.

00:11:02.000 And it's the only reason why, and they were so comfortable with the idea that none of their private communications would ever come out, which is why it's so explicit.

00:11:10.000 To the point of saying, these people are crazy with the stolen election narrative and the ways that they think it's stolen.

00:11:18.000 They're crazy, but if we say that, we'll lose our audience.

00:11:22.000 It's a fascinating look at At just sort of like, you know the Ouroboros? 1.00

00:11:28.000 We call it the snake sucking its own s***. 1.00

00:11:30.000 Like, America has become a snake sucking its own s***. 1.00

00:11:36.000 Well, deep words there from from Jon Stewart, who, by the way, is part of the media problem in the first place. 0.99

00:11:41.000 You'll recall that Jon Stewart, one of his great claims to fame is that very early in the 2000s, there used to be a show on CNN.

00:11:48.000 It was called Crossfire and included Tucker Carlson on one side and Paul Begala on the other is actually a pretty good show in which they would go at every political topic every day.

00:11:55.000 And it was actually really interesting.

00:11:56.000 It's when CNN used to allow opposing points of view on the air.

00:12:00.000 And Jon Stewart came from Comedy Central.

00:12:02.000 Where he did what I would say is one of the ugliest political shows in modern American history because his show was, I will show a clip out of context and then I'll make a face.

00:12:13.000 And he never made an argument.

00:12:14.000 He never attempted to rebut an argument.

00:12:15.000 He didn't actually bring data.

00:12:17.000 It was just make a face.

00:12:18.000 And that has become John Oliver.

00:12:19.000 That's become Stephen Colbert.

00:12:20.000 It's become pretty much all of late night.

00:12:22.000 It's become the model for an enormous amount of news coverage and media coverage instead of actual, you know, politics.

00:12:29.000 And he went on crossfire and he said, you guys are bad for America.

00:12:31.000 The answer was John Stewart was actually quite bad for America because he reduced essentially all political conversation to a series of face memes.

00:12:38.000 But, Jon Stewart is now suggesting that America is an Ouroboros, and by the way, just for the record, an Ouroboros is a snake that is eating its own tail.

00:12:46.000 I don't know what in the world he's talking about, or why it necessitates him talking about snake genitalia, but there you have it.

00:12:55.000 Jon Stewart, great intellectual of our times. 0.57

00:12:57.000 His former deputy, Stephen Colbert, is doing the same exact thing.

00:13:00.000 Again, he's got nothing, so he's going to go direct to shock value with regard to Tucker.

00:13:04.000 Thanks in large part to the former president. 0.95

00:13:07.000 There's a whole industry of people who make a good living trying to make you think you're insane.

00:13:13.000 Well, I make a very good living reminding you that you're not.

00:13:17.000 Now you'd think, you would think...

00:13:21.000 You think that once the people gaslighting you on a daily basis have been revealed to be liars, say, in multiple text messages and a $1.6 billion court filing by Dominion Voting Systems, they would pump the brakes. 0.97

00:13:34.000 But apparently, some people are just addicted to being b******. 1.00

00:13:38.000 Case in point, Fox News host and toddler sucking on a dog turd, Tucker Carlson. 1.00

00:13:48.000 Oh, wow. 0.98

00:13:48.000 That's high levels of humor there. 0.98

00:13:51.000 Tucker is a toddler sucking on a dog turd, according to Stephen Colbert. 0.67

00:13:55.000 And Stephen Colbert would never provide you any misinformation. 0.95

00:13:58.000 Stephen Colbert is just there to remind you what you're saying.

00:14:00.000 He's the voice of common sense.

00:14:01.000 He's an elite New Yorker.

00:14:03.000 Stephen Colbert is just perfect.

00:14:06.000 Perfect stuff.

00:14:08.000 And what Tucker did is he put footage that you had not seen on TV.

00:14:11.000 That's what they're angry at.

00:14:12.000 That's what they're angry at.

00:14:13.000 They can say it's about the angle.

00:14:14.000 It's not really about the angle.

00:14:15.000 It's that some of the narratives that they have been promoting, in fact, the biggest narrative they've been promoting over the course of the last three years, which is that American democracy is under unbridled attack from the right and that authoritarianism is there and that the images were on your TV on January 6th of authoritarianism in action.

00:14:28.000 And that was a real threat to democracy.

00:14:30.000 When that sort of thing starts to look a little more dicey, then they get really, really mad.

00:14:36.000 Now, just a second.

00:14:36.000 I want to get to how Republicans can overplay their hand on this thing, because they obviously can.

00:14:40.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.

00:14:42.000 First, let's talk about what you do in case of emergency.

00:14:44.000 So let's say that there is a supply chain breakdown or let's say that there is a hurricane in the area where I live.

00:14:49.000 One of the things you can't do is get to the local CVS to get the medications you need.

00:14:52.000 Jace Medical makes sure that you can.

00:14:55.000 Not only that, Jace Medical is now providing you with a free ebook that every family needs in their emergency preparedness kit.

00:15:01.000 Ebook's maybe a five minute read.

00:15:02.000 You should download it, you should save it so you have it when you need it.

00:15:05.000 The guide provides valuable information regarding emergency wound care, proper first aid, how to safely use antibiotics when necessary.

00:15:12.000 Jace Medical, they're doing a great job making sure that you have access to the medications you need in case you can't actually get somewhere because of an emergency.

00:15:20.000 Get their free ebook today at jaycemedical.com forward slash Ben.

00:15:23.000 That's J-A-S-E medical.com forward slash Ben.

00:15:27.000 My family has the Jayce case, which is a set of five antibiotics that pretty much every family should have in an emergency.

00:15:32.000 You can do the exact same thing.

00:15:33.000 You talk to a licensed physician.

00:15:34.000 And then they can prescribe it to you, you go get it, and now you have it in your house ready to go.

00:15:37.000 Get their free ebook today, which will help you with emergency preparedness, at jacemedical.com forward slash ben.

00:15:42.000 That's jacemedical.com forward slash ben.

00:15:45.000 Okay, so, with all of this said, all the attacks on Tucker Carlson, obviously politically motivated, obviously.

00:15:51.000 Well, one of the things that Republicans can do is overplay their hand here.

00:15:54.000 The incentives are misaligned for both Democrats and Republicans.

00:15:57.000 They're misaligned for Democrats in the sense that they are so tied into the democracy in danger narrative that they are now attacking freedom of the press in order to preserve the democracy is in danger narrative, which is really self-defeating.

00:16:07.000 And on the right, the incentives are misaligned in that people are going to overplay their hand.

00:16:12.000 They're going to suggest that it's not that there was footage we didn't see.

00:16:16.000 That seems to be somewhat exculpatory of some of the people who may be prosecuted in January 6th, right?

00:16:21.000 Like, their defense lawyers should now have access to all of that stuff.

00:16:24.000 One of the defense lawyers was on with Tucker last night and suggested he did not have access to all of this tape, which, you know, that's going to be a legal filing, like, right away.

00:16:33.000 It's not enough to just claim that.

00:16:34.000 Now it's going to turn into everybody involved in January 6th was good.

00:16:38.000 Everybody involved in January 6th didn't commit a crime.

00:16:41.000 January 6th was actually just a mostly peaceful protest in BLM fashion.

00:16:45.000 It was not a mostly peaceful protest.

00:16:46.000 It was a riot and some of the people who were there were not engaging in the actual violent activity.

00:16:51.000 But if Republicans overplay their hand, and again, a lot of the base is angry about this, and I get the anger about it.

00:16:58.000 I get the upset.

00:16:58.000 I get the feeling that you were lied to.

00:17:00.000 I'm there for a lot of that.

00:17:01.000 But what I'm not there for is the next two years, again, being a referendum on January 6th.

00:17:06.000 We did this in 2022, and it didn't go amazing.

00:17:08.000 It didn't go amazing because it turns out that most Americans already have an idea of what January 6th was, and they don't want to talk about it anymore.

00:17:13.000 They don't actually think that it is the key issue in American life.

00:17:16.000 And if either side makes it the key issue in 2024, That is going to be a problem for the American people.

00:17:23.000 So, for example, when you see House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer or Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene saying their aides are working to set up a congressional delegation to visit individuals jailed on January 6th, the question is which individuals and who are you talking to and what's the plan?

00:17:38.000 Or is it mainly a photo op that's going to allow the newspapers to suggest that you are in solidarity with some of the actual violent rioters on January 6th?

00:17:44.000 Which, of course, is exactly what the newspapers would like to do.

00:17:47.000 Politics requires a little bit of what we would call in Hebrew, requires a little bit of common sense.

00:17:52.000 You actually have to use your head a little bit and figure out, be meticulous in the things that you are taking on as opposed to sort of broad-based blunderbuss attacks if you are running for re-election in 2024 and you're attempting to oust the Democrats who did not provide this footage in the first place from office.

00:18:08.000 Meanwhile, International Women's Day was yesterday.

00:18:12.000 You know, I'm really excited about International Women's Day, mainly because it's the only day of the year where we celebrate women.

00:18:17.000 It's the only day of the year where anybody even knows that women exist, apparently. 0.98

00:18:20.000 That's why we need an International Women's Day. 1.00

00:18:21.000 Remember International Men's Day?

00:18:22.000 I don't.

00:18:23.000 But that means, I guess, that International Women's Day is one day a year.

00:18:26.000 Any other 364 days?

00:18:27.000 Gentlemen, those are ours.

00:18:29.000 In any case, yesterday was international.

00:18:31.000 Women's Day.

00:18:32.000 And in celebration of International Women's Day, the left had themselves just a day for the ages.

00:18:38.000 It began with Dr. Jill Biden, the second female president of the United States after Edith Wilson, and the greatest doctor in America.

00:18:45.000 She is, it goes again, in terms of great doctors in American history, it goes like Dr. J, Dr. Jill, Jonas Salk, And sometimes Anthony Fauci is at the very top, if you're on the left, because he's the greatest doctor.

00:19:00.000 He's the best.

00:19:00.000 Anyway, Joe Biden was giving awards for International Women's Day.

00:19:04.000 And there ain't nothing, there ain't no international woman quite like a dude. 1.00

00:19:09.000 All the best ladies are men these days. 1.00

00:19:11.000 And so on International Women's Day, Joe Biden gave the International Women of Courage Award to a man.

00:19:20.000 This man's name is Albert Rueda.

00:19:22.000 That is a man who identifies as a woman.

00:19:25.000 He is the Special Envoy for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Argentina, and the country's first trans-identifying politician to hold a senior governmental position.

00:19:35.000 According to the State Department, Daily Wire reports the award is meant for, quote, extraordinary women from around the world who are working to build a brighter future for all.

00:19:43.000 Now, this is, in fact, an extraordinary woman.

00:19:46.000 She's extra ordinary, by which I mean she is a he. 1.00

00:19:50.000 Roida is a transgender activist and has long pushed woke politics in Argentina, which includes the Transgender Labor Quota Act, which would require 1% of all public sector jobs in the entire nation to be staffed by people who identify as transgender.

00:20:04.000 Well, good luck with that one.

00:20:06.000 That's going to go amazing in the firefighting industry.

00:20:09.000 Roida also served as Argentina's Undersecretary for Diversity Policies in the Ministry of Women, Gender, and Diversity, as well as founding the group Argentina Trans Women.

00:20:18.000 The diplomat has also campaigned to change the name of the National Women's Conference to the Plurinational Conference of Women and Lesbian, Cross-Dresser, Transsexual, Bisexual, Intersex, and Non-Binary Persons, which is rather unwieldy.

00:20:28.000 I mean, I feel like that's a little long.

00:20:30.000 I don't even know what the acronym there would be.

00:20:33.000 There was a little bit of the award ceremony for a man.

00:20:37.000 In Argentina, Alba Ruada is a transgender woman who was kicked out of classrooms, barred for sitting for exams, refused job opportunities, subjected to violence, and rejected by her family. 0.96

00:20:48.000 Oh, Dr. Jill is so happy.

00:20:49.000 But in the face of these challenges, she worked to end violence and discrimination against the LGBT community in Argentina.

00:20:54.000 That's Anthony Blinken, kissing that dude.

00:20:57.000 Yep.

00:20:59.000 So much international courage.

00:21:00.000 Wow.

00:21:01.000 Just insane levels of international courage for the women who are not, in fact, women. 0.52

00:21:06.000 So much going on on International Women's Day.

00:21:08.000 Again, it's one of the most exciting days of the year for pretty much no one, but it's one of those things we're all supposed to pretend.

00:21:14.000 We all wear the ribbon, right? 0.87

00:21:15.000 It's International Women's Day, so we all must, like Kramer in Seinfeld, if you don't wear the International Women's Day ribbon, it's because you hate women. 1.00

00:21:23.000 Don't you? 0.92

00:21:24.000 I'll get to the discussion on the view about international women in just one second because, again, the view is a repository of all stupidity in the universe apparently. 1.00

00:21:33.000 First, if International Women's Day and, you know, the way the left treats it makes you want to die a little bit inside, well, perhaps while you're on the subject of death, you should get yourself some life insurance. 0.98

00:21:42.000 The simple fact of the matter is we're all going to plot.

00:21:44.000 And when we do, we got to make sure that our families are taken care of.

00:22:35.000 Okay, so in celebration of International Women's Day, The View kicked off International Women's Day by doing what they do best, attacking the Catholic Church.

00:22:42.000 Yes, Whoopi Goldberg, when she is not declaring that Jews are white people, so when they're slaughtered by the Nazis, that's not actual racism.

00:22:48.000 She's attacking the Catholic Church. 0.93

00:22:50.000 On International Women's Day.

00:22:53.000 Welcome to The View!

00:22:55.000 So, The View today is International Women's Day.

00:23:04.000 And the Pope, you know, recently said equal opportunities for women are the key to a better world.

00:23:12.000 Oh, really?

00:23:13.000 Yeah, well, yeah.

00:23:13.000 Where are the female priests?

00:23:16.000 Listen, did I write this for him?

00:23:18.000 Did I write this?

00:23:19.000 This is what he said.

00:23:21.000 Where are the female priests? 1.00

00:23:23.000 Do you mean nuns?

00:23:25.000 Are you referring to nuns, Joy? 1.00

00:23:30.000 These morons. 1.00

00:23:31.000 Oh my god. 1.00

00:23:32.000 Now the cackling hyena-like laughter over at the view.

00:23:34.000 Good times, good times.

00:23:36.000 The Pope said that we gotta rip on the Pope.

00:23:38.000 By the way, guys, he's your Pope.

00:23:40.000 Okay, let's be real about this.

00:23:42.000 The Pope is on the left.

00:23:43.000 The Pope loves all your social values and you guys are like ripping on him.

00:23:46.000 Oh, goodness gracious.

00:23:47.000 Anyway.

00:23:48.000 One thing that I will note here is that the same people who are decrying the Catholic Church and religion generally as repressive to women, they seem to ignore the fact that women are less happy now than they were in the 1970s.

00:24:02.000 By all available polling data, women now, freer, more involved in the economy, more liberated, significantly less happy. 0.96

00:24:10.000 Maybe it's because many of the traditional mores of society were quite good for women. 0.94

00:24:16.000 And it turns out that women are still lagging. 1.00

00:24:18.000 According to the Washington Post, quote, more women than ever are single. 0.98

00:24:21.000 A new report says.

00:24:22.000 And that has significant implications for the U.S.

00:24:24.000 economy.

00:24:24.000 That might actually have significant implications for, you know, women themselves.

00:24:27.000 Forget about the economy.

00:24:28.000 If more women are single than ever. 1.00

00:24:29.000 Just going to put it out there.

00:24:31.000 People don't like being single.

00:24:34.000 All these sort of TV shows rooted in the idea that being single is wonderful and lovely.

00:24:38.000 Not by poll data, Nate.

00:24:40.000 People who are single are significantly less happy than people who are married. 0.92

00:24:44.000 And yet, we are a society that promotes singlehood, and denigrates marriage, and suggests that traditional institutions are bad, and suggests that women are essentially doing themselves a grave injustice if they have children at a young age.

00:24:56.000 And instead, what they really should do is they should slave away at 2,200 billable hours a year as an associate at a law firm until they're about 40, beyond their prime, and then try IVF.

00:25:05.000 And then really, that's what an international woman's all about, man, is turning women into basically androgynous. 0.99

00:25:11.000 Androgynous caricatures of effeminate men.

00:25:15.000 That is what the left would like.

00:25:17.000 That is what the secularist left would like, apparently, is you take away the thing that makes women most women, i.e. 1.00

00:25:24.000 getting married and having children.

00:25:25.000 You take those things away from them, and then that will make them the happiest they have ever been.

00:25:29.000 There's only one problem.

00:25:29.000 There is no data to support that anywhere, anywhere on earth.

00:25:32.000 That is not correct.

00:25:33.000 It just does not exist that way.

00:25:36.000 The fact of the matter is that married women are happier than single women. 0.96

00:25:39.000 Women with kids generally are happier than women who don't have kids.

00:25:43.000 And if you see the number of women who are now hitting the age beyond which they can normally get pregnant and looking around and saying, oh, I made some bad decisions over the course of the last 20 years, thanks to the feminist movement. 0.85

00:25:53.000 Again, you guys turned yourself into, it's so funny, all the same people who celebrate International Women's Day and then decry on International Women's Day that women are being paid less in the workplace.

00:26:02.000 Also hate the capitalist system that they are feeding, that they are feeding by essentially suggesting that all value ought to be measured in terms of a woman's economic power outside the home. 0.98

00:26:13.000 According to the Washington Post, single women who are postponing marriage or foregoing it altogether are a growing economic force, accounting for a larger share of growth in the job market, home ownership, and college degrees, according to an analysis of federal data.

00:26:24.000 But while decades of changing norms around marriage and work have empowered women to carve their own paths, a stubborn wage gap continues to keep many women, especially single mothers, from enjoying the same economic gains as single men and married couples.

00:26:34.000 Well, hold up.

00:26:35.000 Single mothers are not the same thing as single men and married couples, I notice, because single mothers have children! 0.89

00:26:39.000 And if they're not inside of a married couple, it turns out that they have to split their time.

00:26:44.000 Marriage.

00:26:46.000 You undermine all the fundamental institutions of society.

00:26:47.000 And on International Women's Day, you're deriding religion the way the view is. 1.00

00:26:51.000 And then you wonder why people are having a rough time.

00:26:53.000 But what is International Women's Day really about for the media?

00:26:56.000 For the media, International Women's Day is about suggesting that women still are not being provided equality of rights in the United States.

00:27:03.000 And so we have a bevy of left wing kind of aspects of this particular argument that made themselves present yesterday.

00:27:10.000 We have an article in the New York Times called More Black Women Run for Office, but prospects fade the higher they go. 1.00

00:27:15.000 By the way, that is true of literally everyone.

00:27:17.000 Lots of white dudes run for office. 1.00

00:27:19.000 Their prospects fade also the higher they go because there are fewer positions to fill. 0.91

00:27:23.000 The current vice president of the United States is the vice president only because she is a black woman.

00:27:28.000 She has no other qualifications that would make her appropriate for the office.

00:27:30.000 There are a bunch of other female senators who are better than she was. 1.00

00:27:33.000 There are some black senators who are better than she was. 0.98

00:27:36.000 And but she was the only black female who was on the list and they need a black female. 1.00

00:27:38.000 So it's Kamala Harris.

00:27:39.000 She was the one who was going to be.

00:27:42.000 Really amazing stuff from the New York Times.

00:27:44.000 Again, International Women's Day, black women hit hardest.

00:27:47.000 Meanwhile, Cori Bush suggesting that the vicissitudes of life always and forever hit. 0.97

00:27:54.000 Black, brown, women hardest. 1.00

00:27:56.000 There's a famous New York Times faux headline, end of world coming. 0.99

00:28:00.000 Blacks and minorities hit hardest. 0.79

00:28:02.000 Women and minorities hit hardest. 0.99

00:28:03.000 That is essentially the platform of the Democratic Party at this point.

00:28:06.000 You described that the price increases had a disproportionate effect on black, brown, and low-income families.

00:28:13.000 How did the administration's actions and the ensuing drop in gas prices, how did it help those same families?

00:28:23.000 While there are a number of factors that affect the price of oil, in an interview with Oxford, I believe, Dr. B. did concede that the Strategic use of SPR did have an impact.

00:28:34.000 It's hard to quantify and hard to tell, but it definitely had an impact in the price of oil.

00:28:39.000 Always, always inequity, inequity.

00:28:41.000 But whenever we celebrate a day, remember, it's not about celebrating the day.

00:28:43.000 It's about ripping the system because the system is mean to people, apparently.

00:28:48.000 I do enjoy people like Cori Bush talking about economics when she knows nothing about economics.

00:28:51.000 The best economic clip of the day yesterday actually came Courtesy of her fellow member of the squad and card-carrying anti-Semite Rashida Tlaib, the representative from Michigan.

00:29:01.000 She was talking about the economy and she was trying to explain to the Federal Reserve chairman about how the economy works.

00:29:08.000 It didn't go amazing.

00:29:10.000 Does that corporate profiteering does impact inflation?

00:29:13.000 You don't have any stats of percentage wise, how much of it?

00:29:16.000 Because you seem, you know, I played, I really paid attention to your testimony in the Senate.

00:29:22.000 I don't know if the feds is paying closer attention to monopolies, copper, you know, corporate profiteering and executive egregious pay.

00:29:31.000 All of it, even the side buybacks, you're saying all of that.

00:29:34.000 Aside your focus more on wages and increasing the interest rate than on those other... Our focus is really on price stability, not so much wages.

00:29:44.000 Wages play into that because they're an important cost for business, but we're not trying to achieve a particular level of wages.

00:29:51.000 We're trying to achieve 2% inflation.

00:29:54.000 She's like, why doesn't the Federal Reserve focus on CEO pay?

00:29:57.000 Because that's literally not their job.

00:29:59.000 That's not what the Federal Reserve does, lady.

00:30:02.000 Just amazing stuff there from from Rashida Tlaib.

00:30:05.000 These are we're sending our best to Congress as always and forever.

00:30:09.000 Meanwhile, if you want to talk about actual inequities in American life, you know, things that actually affect how people live.

00:30:13.000 How about crime levels?

00:30:14.000 Crime levels do not descend on the American people in equitable fashion, as the left might have it.

00:30:20.000 They affect certain areas significantly more than other areas, and those areas happen to be generally black and brown areas.

00:30:26.000 There are higher crime rates in many black and brown areas than there are in white areas overall.

00:30:30.000 That'd be a problem.

00:30:31.000 The solution to that problem is more cops. 0.78

00:30:33.000 The solution to that problem is more policing.

00:30:35.000 And yet the left is very much focused on the idea that if There is a problem that exists disproportionately in a minority community that can't be solved by, you know, stopping the problem.

00:30:45.000 It can only be solved by dissolving the system in general and then blaming the system for the problem in the first place.

00:30:51.000 This is something that has been taken up now by the Biden administration.

00:30:55.000 There's a game that left-wing administrations like to play with police departments all over the United States.

00:30:59.000 Here's the game.

00:31:00.000 They say, what we'll do is we'll go and we'll investigate your police department.

00:31:02.000 We'll look at all the problems your police department has had over the course of the last five years.

00:31:05.000 You can do this with literally any police department because the truth is you can do this with pretty much any institution, any institution or business.

00:31:11.000 If you put a microscope on it, it's going to look pretty ugly.

00:31:14.000 There are all sorts of problems inside every institution, business, corporate, financial, media, police.

00:31:21.000 Firefighters, anywhere. 0.92

00:31:22.000 You put a microscope on it because human beings are flawed and human beings do dumb and bad things. 0.82

00:31:26.000 That is just a reality.

00:31:28.000 So what left-wing administrations do is what they will do is they will go to a police department, a police department that has been tasked with policing a particularly violent area, for example, and then they will put a microscope on it.

00:31:39.000 They will look at all of the problems that have existed there, and then they will cram down a consent decree that prevents policing from happening, and then the crime rates increase.

00:31:45.000 This has happened consistently since 2014.

00:31:47.000 Roland Fryer of Harvard, he did a study, and what he showed is that in areas that had high-profile police encounters with suspects, Michael Brown and Ferguson.

00:31:57.000 What ended up happening after the federal scrutiny and after the national media scrutiny is the crime rates went up dramatically.

00:32:03.000 Things got way worse for people in that area.

00:32:05.000 Because again, if you put focus on the flaws of the system and then you try to dissolve the system, what you end up doing is dissolving the system.

00:32:11.000 And in the aftermath of the system, things get way worse.

00:32:13.000 Well, now the Justice Department is doing this in Louisville, Kentucky.

00:32:17.000 So in the aftermath of the shooting of Breonna Taylor, And again, that was miscovered by the media because the media just picked up whatever the narrative was that was being spun out by Breonna Taylor's family and by people who were suing the Louisville Police Department.

00:32:32.000 The real facts on the ground are in dispute, but the police officers, one of whom was shot and who actually wrote a book, four DW books, talking about what exactly happened that night.

00:32:39.000 According to him, they did, in fact, knock.

00:32:41.000 They did announce themselves.

00:32:42.000 Breonna Taylor's boyfriend shot the gun through the door, wounding the police officer.

00:32:46.000 They shot back at him.

00:32:47.000 And unfortunately, Breonna Taylor was killed in the crossfire.

00:32:51.000 That is not how the media portrayed that particular situation, but this served as sort of the point of the spear for the Justice Department.

00:32:56.000 So now the Justice Department is doing a report on the Louisville Metro Police Department.

00:33:00.000 And the New York Times, predictably, says investigators paint a grim portrait of the Louisville Metro Police Department detailing a variety of serious, at times shocking, misconduct.

00:33:07.000 They included the use of excessive force, searches based on invalid and so-called no-knock warrants, unlawful car stops, detentions and harassment of people during street sweeps, and broad patterns of discrimination against black people and those with behavioral health problems.

00:33:19.000 Now, again, typically when they say that there is a broad pattern of disproportionate behavior, they usually don't have the granular data necessary to actually suggest that the disparity equals discrimination.

00:33:30.000 In other words, what they will say is more black people were stopped on the street than white people were stopped as a percentage of the population.

00:33:34.000 That doesn't explain what the behavior was of everybody who was involved in those particular stops.

00:33:39.000 It doesn't involve any of the factors that the police took into account.

00:33:42.000 But assume for a second there was some bad behavior inside the Louisville Police Department, which it appears there was.

00:33:48.000 Hey, does that mean that the solution is going to be a consent decree from the DOJ on the Louisville Police Department that hampers their ability to enforce the law?

00:33:54.000 Because that's exactly what's going to happen next.

00:33:57.000 Attorney General Merrick Garland, he is now suggesting that the Breonna Taylor police officers violated the Civil Rights Act.

00:34:02.000 Again, this is all predicate to cracking down on police departments.

00:34:04.000 And then the crime rates go up and they're like, we don't know why the crime rates are going up.

00:34:07.000 How could this be?

00:34:08.000 Well, it's because of you.

00:34:09.000 It's because of you guys.

00:34:11.000 Members of the Place-Based Investigations Unit falsified the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant of Ms.

00:34:18.000 Taylor's home, that this act violated federal civil rights laws, and that those violations resulted in Ms.

00:34:27.000 Taylor's death.

00:34:29.000 Specifically, we allege that Ms.

00:34:30.000 Taylor's Fourth Amendment rights were violated when defendants Joshua Jaynes, Kyle Meany, and Kelly Goodlatte sought a warrant to search Ms.

00:34:38.000 Taylor's home knowing that the officers lacked probable cause for the search.

00:34:45.000 Okay, so again, the final outcome of this, put aside every specific allegation, assume all the specific allegations are true, and the police officers involved in any of these things should be prosecuted to the fullest measure of the law if they violated the law.

00:34:55.000 Assume all of that.

00:34:56.000 The outcome of this is going to be a consent decree from the federal government on the Louisville Police Department that will end with a higher rate of crime.

00:35:03.000 That's just how this is going to go.

00:35:04.000 And then we'll hear more complaints.

00:35:06.000 Because the complaints will be, look at all the inequities.

00:35:08.000 Look at the inequality and inequity.

00:35:10.000 It is worth noting at this point that Louisville is one of the most violent areas in America.

00:35:14.000 And so, take away the cops and you will see what happens next.

00:35:18.000 Which, by the way, is exactly what's also going to happen in Washington, D.C.

00:35:22.000 Yesterday, the D.C.

00:35:23.000 police chief said, you know what would be great is we could actually keep the crime down if we kept our criminals in jail.

00:35:28.000 But the political forces have decided that it's inequitable to do so.

00:35:32.000 What we got to do, if we really want to see homicides go down, is keep bad guys with guns in jail.

00:35:37.000 Because when they're in jail, they can't be in communities shooting people.

00:35:41.000 So when people talk about what we're going to do different, or what we should do different, what we need to do different, that's the thing that we need to do different.

00:35:47.000 We need to keep violent people in jail. 0.79

00:35:50.000 Right now, the average homicide suspect, the average homicide suspect, has been arrested 11 times prior to them committing a homicide.

00:35:59.000 That is a problem.

00:36:02.000 Consent decrees on police departments aren't going to end the crime problems.

00:36:02.000 Guess what?

00:36:05.000 And if you're voting Democrat and you're in a major city, maybe you should consider the fact that the reason that your life is not better is because of political people who are attempting to, quote unquote, tear down the very systems that are designed to protect you, even if those systems are abused by some of the people in power, because all authority is eventually abused by someone.

00:36:21.000 In just a second, we're going to get to the abuse of authority by Joe Biden with regard to his presiding over documents.

00:36:28.000 More documents discovered on Joe Biden.

00:36:31.000 We'll get to that in a moment first.

00:38:03.000 Meanwhile, we have some bad news for Joe Biden, who is the husband of the President of the United States.

00:38:08.000 If you recall him, he's the old man that they sometimes trot out and he tries not to stumble and then he occasionally does stumble.

00:38:13.000 By the way, our entire geriatric class is, in fact, quite old.

00:38:16.000 Mitch McConnell is now in the hospital after having tripped and fallen.

00:38:20.000 That is because literally everyone in a leadership position in our nation is above the age of 75, which does not speak well of the future of the country, I would say.

00:38:28.000 In any case, the Washington Free Beacon reports that the National Archives in November retrieved nine boxes of documents from the Boston office of Joe Biden's lawyer.

00:38:37.000 The National Archives has not yet reviewed the documents to determine whether there is any classified material in them, but they did in fact go and pick up a bunch of documents from Joe Biden's lawyer.

00:38:44.000 So once again, Captain, it's irresponsible to keep classified documents anywhere in your orbit.

00:38:50.000 There are more boxes of documents that the National Archives is now going through.

00:38:53.000 Meanwhile, Joe Biden remains under fire over the fact that drug cartels essentially control large swaths of the territory surrounding our southern border.

00:39:00.000 According to The Hill, the kidnapping in Mexico this week of four U.S.

00:39:03.000 citizens left two of them dead.

00:39:04.000 has renewed the focus on the politically charged issue of southern border security and prompted calls from some lawmakers for the Biden administration to more seriously crack down on the cartels.

00:39:12.000 Biden administration officials called the killings unacceptable, potentially escalating tensions around the already fraught issues of border security and U.S.-Mexico relations as authorities work to learn more about the circumstances of that particular incident.

00:39:23.000 John Kirby tutted this a little bit earlier this week.

00:39:26.000 He said attacks on U.S.

00:39:27.000 citizens are unacceptable. 1.00

00:39:28.000 We're going to work closely with the Mexican government to make sure justice is done in this particular case.

00:39:33.000 Now, there are other Republicans who are suggesting that, you know what, if you can't protect Americans, if the Mexican government can't do it, then the U.S.

00:39:40.000 government should probably do it. 1.00

00:39:42.000 Lindsey Graham, senator from South Carolina, he says that the U.S.

00:39:44.000 should actually label the drug cartels international terrorist organizations, which would allow us to help cut off more of their money, presumably.

00:39:51.000 We're not doing enough about it.

00:39:52.000 So Schedule 1 is the highest level you can put a drug on in terms of punishment.

00:39:57.000 Fentanyl is due to come off that schedule at the end of the year. 0.65

00:40:00.000 That's ridiculous.

00:40:02.000 So we're going to keep it on Schedule 1.

00:40:03.000 But I want to do more than that.

00:40:05.000 The drug cartels that are sending this poison into our country need to be considered terrorist organizations.

00:40:12.000 The law enforcement model is not working.

00:40:15.000 This is not working.

00:40:17.000 So we need to take a different approach.

00:40:19.000 Let's call these drug cartels terrorists, because they're terrorizing America, and go after them with a different model.

00:40:25.000 Okay, presumably that different model would involve a few Hellfire missiles, a few well-placed Hellfire missiles. 0.99

00:40:31.000 That's something that Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas is also recommending, which is, you know, if we know where the drug cartels are, we know who their heads are, and they keep victimizing Americans and sending, you know, tons of fentanyl over the border to kill Americans, then perhaps we should just, you know, kill them. 0.90

00:40:45.000 If ISIS and Al-Qaeda had set up shop in Juarez or Monterey or Tijuana, what would you expect your government to do if they were killing 100,000 Americans a year? 0.95

00:40:54.000 And whatever that is, that's exactly what we should do to them in Mexico, with or without the Mexican government. 0.84

00:41:02.000 We have a long history of our military protecting us from these threats from drug traffickers and narco-terrorists. 1.00

00:41:08.000 It's well known they were present A few years back when El Chapo was arrested in Mexico.

00:41:13.000 If the Mexican government will not or cannot stop these cartels from killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, then America should.

00:41:25.000 Okay, he is not wrong about this.

00:41:26.000 The fact of the matter is that Mexico is on the verge of being, if it is not already, a failed state.

00:41:31.000 And if they can't control what's happening at our border, we have to control what's happening at our border.

00:41:35.000 Meanwhile, the FBI director, Chris Wray, even he is admitting the federal government can't even keep tabs on the illegal immigrants who are entering the country right now.

00:41:40.000 That basically, once we let them free, they just disappear into the interior.

00:41:44.000 We're not able to keep tabs on every single person who comes in, certainly.

00:41:47.000 We have all sorts of investigations into certain people who get in and we try to work very hard on both sides of the border to prevent, to support DHS's efforts and to some extent our neighbors south of the border from preventing them from coming in.

00:42:04.000 Again, one of the great aspects of modern society is that the quote-unquote experts are given extraordinary authority over our lives to protect us, and then they do an unbelievably crappy job doing so.

00:42:15.000 It turns out that what government typically is pretty good at is taking your money and also killing people and breaking things.

00:42:21.000 Pretty much.

00:42:22.000 That's almost the entire spectrum of what the American government is good at.

00:42:25.000 And so if it doesn't fall into one of those baskets, then probably you're not going to be very good at it.

00:42:30.000 Speaking of which, the expert class who've demanded tremendous power from us and then deceived us with that power.

00:42:35.000 Yesterday, there was a major hearing on the Hill.

00:42:37.000 over the COVID lab leak theory.

00:42:39.000 It was a House panel charged with investigating the origins of the pandemic.

00:42:42.000 The New York Times reported that the former director of the CDC accused top federal health officials of excluding him from discussions in early 2020 about whether COVID was the result of a lab leak.

00:42:51.000 This would be CDC director, former CDC director Robert Redfield.

00:42:54.000 You will recognize him from your TV during the pandemic.

00:42:57.000 And Robert Redfield says fully out, yeah, absolutely, tax dollars funded gain-of-function research, an assertion that, of course, Anthony Fauci had openly denied in testimony with Rand Paul.

00:43:08.000 Dr. Fauci was affirmatively told in an email that NIAID had a monetary relationship with the Wuhan Institute through EcoHealth Alliance.

00:43:19.000 He was told this in January 27th of 2020.

00:43:22.000 Do you think that Dr. Fauci intentionally lied under oath to Senator Paul when he vehemently denied NIH's funding of gain-of-function research?

00:43:30.000 I think there's no doubt that NIH was funding gain-of-function research.

00:43:33.000 Is it likely that American tax dollars funded the gain-of-function research that created this virus?

00:43:38.000 I think it did, not only from NIH, but from the State Department, USAID, and from DOD.

00:43:44.000 Okay, that is an extraordinary contention by Dr. Redfield.

00:43:46.000 It's not going to receive virtually any mainstream television coverage because, again, what he is now asserting is that gain-of-function research funded by the NIH under the auspices of Dr. Anthony Fauci was sending money via EcoHealth Alliance, which of course has long been suspected, sending money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for gain-of-function research and that kind of gain-of-function research, as Dr. Rand Paul suggested, from the floor of the Senate, which Dr. Anthony Fauci denied.

00:44:10.000 He's now saying that he thinks that Fauci perjured himself because he was under oath.

00:44:14.000 That essentially that money was used to develop gain-of-function research that ended with COVID escaping a lab and killing 7 million people.

00:44:22.000 That is what Redfield, again, the former CDC head who was in the government at the same time, he also asserted, did Redfield, in this kind of amazing story as well, that On February 1st, it was pretty clear that the lab leak theory was not crazy.

00:44:35.000 By February 4th, a strategy had been formulated by Fauci and others, including a couple of scientists, to trot out papers suggesting the lab leak theory was totally crazy and that he had been cut out of all of those phone calls.

00:44:49.000 He said that he was cut out of those phone calls.

00:44:50.000 He doesn't know why he was cut out of those phone calls.

00:44:52.000 He is not aware of any information that would have made the lab leak crazy between like February 1st and February 4th of 2020.

00:44:59.000 Redfield said that he did not find out about the call until much later, when those emails became public.

00:45:04.000 Those would be emails between Fauci and other scientists, including Francis Collins, who led the NIH.

00:45:10.000 Again, there was a call with various scientists who had suggested that lab leak leakage was actually the problem here.

00:45:16.000 The messages do not refer to or name Redfield.

00:45:18.000 He told lawmakers when he learned of them, he concluded Fauci and Collins had intentionally excluded him because he believed in the lab leak theory.

00:45:24.000 He said, I was told, it was told to me they wanted a single narrative.

00:45:27.000 And I had an obviously different point of view.

00:45:29.000 Here is Redfield saying the public health officials packaged the message so that it said what they wanted it to say.

00:45:34.000 We've got to tell the truth.

00:45:37.000 When you don't tell the truth, you've got a problem.

00:45:40.000 And I think if you go back, there were many times when public health officials packaged the message to what they wanted to say, but it wasn't necessarily truthful.

00:45:49.000 The second thing, you have to have the courage when you're a public health official to say, I don't know, when you don't know.

00:45:59.000 That is amazing.

00:46:00.000 That is amazing.

00:46:01.000 I mean, he is saying it was LabLeak 1.

00:46:04.000 We probably funded it.

00:46:06.000 Dr. Fauci lied about it.

00:46:07.000 And 4.

00:46:08.000 Dr. Fauci held a phone call with other scientists in order to discard the LabLeak theory entirely.

00:46:13.000 I mean, he is now opening the door wide, is Redfield, to the possibility of what, again, Dr. Paul, Senator Paul, had suggested, which is a perjury charge against Anthony Fauci.

00:46:23.000 And man, would that be an extraordinary event in American political life.

00:46:28.000 And frankly, there should be consequences to lying to the American people or attempting to cover your ass while you've been the highest paid employee at the federal government for years and years and years, as Dr. Anthony Fauci apparently was. 0.68

00:46:37.000 Joe Biden is planning to lay out his budget blueprint today.

00:46:40.000 He's going to recommend funding levels for programs across the federal government.

00:46:44.000 Of course, the budget is not going to be passed this way, but his proposed budget is extraordinarily large, of course. 1.00

00:46:50.000 He keeps saying that he's reducing the deficit, which, as I've said before, is the stupidest crap ever. 0.81

00:46:54.000 Basically, what he is saying is that because the deficit ran to the highest levels in recorded history in 2020, And then it was slightly lower than that in 2021. 0.96

00:47:02.000 And he's lowered the deficit in 2022 and 2023 by spending heretofore unheard of amounts of money.

00:47:06.000 The budget request apparently is $5.8 trillion.

00:47:09.000 I remember when a $4 trillion budget was considered extraordinarily big.

00:47:13.000 Now we're talking about a budget 50% larger than that.

00:47:17.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, most of the money the federal government spends in a year is already mandatory.

00:47:21.000 That includes Social Security.

00:47:23.000 Some is made up of interest payments on the federal debt.

00:47:25.000 That's gotten a lot more costly because, of course, the interest rates have been rising.

00:47:28.000 One of the things that is pushed in favor of lower interest rates by the Federal Reserve has been the idea that when we take out debt, we want to pay back that debt at 2%.

00:47:34.000 We don't want to pay it back at 7%.

00:47:35.000 So every time those interest rates increase, the federal government is going to tax you to pay for that, is pretty much the way that that goes, or borrow to pay off its other bills.

00:47:45.000 So what exactly are the priorities?

00:47:47.000 Well, apparently he says he wants to lower the deficit by $2 trillion over 10 years and extend the solvency of the Medicare trust fund by at least two decades.

00:47:55.000 He said he's going to do that without cutting Social Security or Medicare, and he's going to raise taxes on Americans who are rich.

00:47:55.000 How's he going to do that?

00:48:01.000 No, that's not going to do it.

00:48:02.000 I'm just going to tell you right now, it's not going to do it.

00:48:04.000 It's not going to outpace the spending.

00:48:05.000 Also, the taxes that he is talking about relieving Make no sense.

00:48:09.000 He is talking right now about essentially ending pass-through corporations.

00:48:13.000 Pass-through corporations are where you have an LLC, the money flows to the LLC, but you're essentially the only employee of the LLC, and then you pay income tax on the money that you receive from the LLC.

00:48:24.000 Very, very common form of legal formation.

00:48:27.000 It's designed in order to sort of regularize accounting procedures and put profits and losses in the LLC before you're paid.

00:48:32.000 But that's a pass-through LLC, so the LLC doesn't pay the corporate income tax.

00:48:35.000 He wants you to pay the corporate income tax at an income tax rate.

00:48:39.000 at the LLC and then apparently pay the income tax again when you get it from your LLC.

00:48:45.000 So you're getting double taxed is essentially his proposal.

00:48:49.000 Now this is going nowhere.

00:48:50.000 It's not going to pass.

00:48:51.000 It's not going to go anywhere.

00:48:53.000 But again, it shows you what Joe Biden wants.

00:48:55.000 More taxing, more spending, always and forever.

00:48:58.000 The good news, according to Karine Jean-Pierre, world's most untalented press secretary, is that his policies are fiscally responsible.

00:49:03.000 By fiscally responsible, she means responsible like a raging alcoholic downing three bottles of vodka and then driving a car 100 miles an hour through a school zone in the middle of broad daylight.

00:49:16.000 He's now kind of making budget deficit reduction a cornerstone of his policy.

00:49:21.000 Why did this become more of a priority, and what does he think this does for everyday Americans?

00:49:26.000 So as you just kind of alluded to and laid out, this has been a priority from the President when we talk about deficit reduction, when we talk about being fiscally responsible.

00:49:37.000 This is something that the President has talked about since the campaign.

00:49:40.000 And you hear me, just as I did moments ago, talk about the $1.7 trillion deficit that he did the first two years.

00:49:46.000 And it was important to the president as he's going to put forward his budget tomorrow.

00:49:51.000 And as you've probably heard us say, we see this as a value statement on what the president sees in the future of this country.

00:49:58.000 And so he wanted to make sure it was fiscally responsible.

00:50:03.000 Um, no.

00:50:05.000 I'm sorry, the answer right there would be no.

00:50:07.000 He's not fiscally responsible.

00:50:08.000 Okay, time for some things I like, and then some things that I hate.

00:50:12.000 So, things that I like today.

00:50:13.000 So there is a very famous YouTuber, maybe the most famous YouTuber, his name is MrBeast.

00:50:18.000 And MrBeast does these really extraordinarily watchable videos on YouTube.

00:50:22.000 He puts extraordinary amounts of time and effort into making these videos, which means that he is wildly successful on YouTube.

00:50:28.000 Well, he also gives a lot of charity. 0.97

00:50:31.000 And then he gets just enormous amounts of crap for giving a lot of charity. 0.68

00:50:36.000 When I say he's successful on YouTube, I mean he has 137 million subscribers on YouTube. 0.96

00:50:42.000 And he puts out videos like, I Survived 50 Hours in Antarctica, or Hydraulic Press vs. Lamborghini.

00:50:50.000 These are some of his recently uploaded videos.

00:50:53.000 He puts out maybe one a month, and these videos are very highly produced, extraordinarily well done, And then he gives a lot of charity.

00:51:03.000 So a month ago, for example, he gave money via his charity so that a thousand blind people could have surgeries that would allow them to see for the first time.

00:51:12.000 And then he just did another video in which he offered shoes to kids who had never had shoes in South Africa.

00:51:19.000 Here was some of the video.

00:51:21.000 For hundreds of thousands of kids in South Africa, the only thing standing between them and an education is a simple pair of shoes.

00:51:30.000 But before tackling this major problem by donating 20,000 pairs of shoes, we flew to Johannesburg, South Africa, where we found a charity called Barefoot No More that uses these plastic granules and then it goes through all these tubes and does a bunch of other complicated mechanical stuff that eventually creates the perfect seamless shoe.

00:51:49.000 Whoa, these are actually really nice.

00:51:54.000 Okay, so he gives away the shoes, right?

00:51:56.000 Nice thing to do.

00:51:57.000 Pretty cool story.

00:51:58.000 Naturally, the Twitterverse is filled with awful people, so they immediately start yelling at him.

00:52:02.000 So you have people like, for example, Upward Boss.

00:52:05.000 He tweets people praising things like this.

00:52:07.000 Good guy, Mr. Beast.

00:52:08.000 Ignore the reality that he makes a profit from these types of videos.

00:52:10.000 This isn't really charity.

00:52:12.000 So, first of all, the money that he makes from the videos does go to charity on these particular videos.

00:52:16.000 The charity videos go to his charity.

00:52:18.000 But beyond that, let's assume for a second that he actually made money from those videos and then he gave the money to charity.

00:52:23.000 The problem is, Please explain.

00:52:26.000 Please explain the problem.

00:52:28.000 Well, the real problem is, according to a lot of the people who do not like Mr. Beast and they do not like his charitable giving, that your obligation is not to actually do good in the world.

00:52:37.000 Your obligation is to fight the evil capitalist system.

00:52:40.000 That is what you have to do.

00:52:41.000 Fight the evil, terrible, no good, very bad capitalist system that has raised literally more than half, like 80% of the world from abject poverty.

00:52:49.000 Fight that system.

00:52:50.000 So one rather famous tweet about Mr. Beast from September of 2020 reads, quote, every heartwarming human interest story in America is like he raised $20,000 to keep 200 orphans from being crushed in the orphan crushing machine and then never asks why an orphan crushing machine exists or why you'd need to pay to prevent it from being used.

00:53:07.000 Unless you're fighting the system, private charity is not only a waste of time, it's actually bad because it incentivizes a continuation of the system.

00:53:13.000 Now, this is nothing new in terms of left wing philosophy.

00:53:16.000 Bernie Sanders, back in 1981, ripped into private charity.

00:53:19.000 Here's what he said, quote, I don't believe in charities.

00:53:22.000 Why?

00:53:22.000 Because he said, charity is a fundamental, he doesn't like the fundamental concept on which charity is based.

00:53:29.000 He contended the government is supposed to do it.

00:53:31.000 Because if you give charity, then you're upholding a system of profit making and profit making is bad.

00:53:35.000 And so what we ought to do is not incentivize charity.

00:53:37.000 Instead, what we ought to do is we ought to incentivize the end of the entire capitalist structure. 1.00

00:53:42.000 The people who argue this are idiots. 1.00

00:53:45.000 They do not understand the value of capitalism. 1.00

00:53:47.000 They do not understand the value of free markets.

00:53:49.000 They don't understand that free exchange of goods and services, again, has lifted billions of people from abject poverty.

00:53:55.000 And they're kind of bad people as well. 0.51

00:53:56.000 If you spend your days on Twitter ripping into people who are giving charity to people who can't see, I'm sorry, you're the baddie. 0.89

00:54:03.000 You're the bad guy.

00:54:04.000 It's amazing that these folks even are out there, but you know, they are.

00:54:08.000 The world is filled with people with terrible, terrible ideas.

00:54:11.000 Okay.

00:54:11.000 Meanwhile, here's a thing that I like.

00:54:13.000 So another thing that I like here is Ron DeSantis, again, the way that he's handling the media right now is really, really good.

00:54:18.000 So the media have lied about him already.

00:54:21.000 They've already turned him into a combo of Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and they have decided That he's done a bunch of things he hasn't actually done.

00:54:29.000 So the headline, for example, at Matt Drudge's Drudge Report, and Drudge has become sort of a left-wing tool in a wide variety of ways.

00:54:37.000 His headline right now, it's a picture of DeSantis, and the headline is, DeSantis runs from Florida blogger bill.

00:54:43.000 DeSantis runs from Florida blogger bill.

00:54:46.000 He didn't run from it.

00:54:47.000 It wasn't his bill. 0.94

00:54:49.000 So what the media did is one dumb state senator in Florida proposed a bill to get bloggers who were paid by interest groups to register with the government.

00:54:59.000 DeSantis' name was not in it. 0.87

00:55:00.000 He didn't sponsor the bill.

00:55:00.000 He didn't back the bill.

00:55:02.000 Every story featuring this bill that he did not sponsor, back, support, call for, every story featured his picture.

00:55:08.000 He says, I'm not even behind the bill, and he put my picture on the bill because you want to slander me with a bill I don't support.

00:55:13.000 And the headline from Drudge then is, DeSantis runs from Florida blogger bill.

00:55:17.000 It's just wildly dishonest.

00:55:19.000 Wildly, wildly dishonest.

00:55:21.000 And another lie that they keep saying that he's banning books in the state of Florida.

00:55:24.000 Again, I live in the state of Florida.

00:55:25.000 I can get any book I damn well please.

00:55:27.000 I'm an adult.

00:55:27.000 I can order on Amazon.

00:55:29.000 It'll just come right to my door.

00:55:29.000 It's amazing.

00:55:30.000 Amazing this has been true in the United States for a very long time.

00:55:32.000 What Ron DeSantis is saying is you should not have porn in school libraries, which seems fairly straightforward.

00:55:38.000 Now, here's where we get to the part I like.

00:55:41.000 Ron DeSantis did a presser yesterday in which he showed a video.

00:55:44.000 The video that he showed was of the books that were in the school libraries and what exactly those books said.

00:55:50.000 The books are so obscene that the networks were broadcasting had to tune away.

00:55:54.000 So in other words, their argument is your seven year old should be able to access these books, but you as an adult should not be able to see what is in the school library on CNN because it's too obscene for you.

00:56:04.000 There's a little bit of Ron DeSantis press conference yesterday.

00:56:08.000 I didn't have to view what you just viewed, so I'm glad I didn't, but I think that we need to have truth prevail, and so today we're going to be exposing, we've already exposed with that video, I think, this idea of a book ban in Florida, that somehow they don't want books in the library.

00:56:26.000 That's a hoax.

00:56:28.000 And that's really a nasty hoax, because it's a hoax in service of trying to pollute and sexualize our children. 0.98

00:56:36.000 So we have seen over many weeks.

00:56:40.000 So first of all, I think that that video, I think some of the news had to cut the feed because it's graphic.

00:56:46.000 DeSantis knows how to handle himself.

00:56:47.000 He knows how to handle the media.

00:56:48.000 And that is a good thing.

00:56:49.000 OK, time for some things that I hate. 0.51

00:56:56.000 I have to say that the parenting strategy by which you completely destroy your children, you usher them into chaos and confusion, sexual confusion, confusion about the realities of life, and then you exhibit them for the entire public to see is sick.

00:57:10.000 There's something wrong with it.

00:57:12.000 You should not be taking your 12-year-old and put them on the world stage in any case. 0.76

00:57:16.000 Children deserve privacy.

00:57:18.000 It is a thing that they deserve.

00:57:20.000 And yet, this is exactly what Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union are doing.

00:57:23.000 So, Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union.

00:57:26.000 Again, their whole thing is that children should have privacy except, and we are taking our son, our 15-year-old son, and saying that he is a girl.

00:57:34.000 And then, we should exhibit this 15-year-old minor on a catwalk debut at Paris Fashion Week.

00:57:42.000 This is textbook terrible parenting.

00:57:44.000 Textbook.

00:57:45.000 And if there were a textbook and it said terrible parenting, pictures of Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union would appear apparently in that textbook.

00:57:51.000 How you would take a 15 year old, of any persuasion by the way, and exhibit that person on a Paris Fashion Week stage while they were suffering any sort of issue that caused them pain or confusion, I don't know why you would do that.

00:58:01.000 Especially when you're talking about something as deep and abiding, as a belief that you're a member, the why, that you're a member of the opposite sex. 0.98

00:58:08.000 And then you exhibit this for your own glorification because look what a wonderful parent I am because I'm so tolerant, I'm so diverse that I can take my son, dress him up as a girl, usher him into hormone therapy and presumably genital mutilating surgery.

00:58:18.000 And then as a minor, 15 years old, who's been identifying this way since 12, 12-year-olds don't make any decisions in our society because 12-year-olds are not capable of making decisions in our society.

00:58:27.000 We'll do this and then we'll glorify ourselves by putting this boy in girls' clothing and in girls' makeup on a stage at Paris Fashion Week.

00:58:37.000 I mean, I'm sorry, this is child cruelty.

00:58:39.000 This is cruelty to a child.

00:58:41.000 That's what this is.

00:58:42.000 Here is the Instagram.

00:58:44.000 That is Dwayne Wade with his son who is dressed as a girl. 0.60

00:59:05.000 Zaya's birth mother, Siobhan Fletches Wade, was not in attendance, according to the Daily Mail, after she launched a petition to stop her trans child from legally changing her name and gender, and claimed the child was being pressured financially to make the decision.

00:59:16.000 That petition failed after Wade argued in court he had full authority to make decisions on behalf of Zaya.

00:59:22.000 On Tuesday, the NBA star and his wife, Union, beamed with pride as they watched Zaya make her catwalk debut.

00:59:30.000 Again, Zaya is a boy who is 15 years old and is now being trotted out in public.

00:59:39.000 And, um, you know, you can such heroism, such unbelievable parenting heroism, which is really all about attention getting on on the part of these parents.

00:59:50.000 Meanwhile, One more thing that I hate.

00:59:53.000 So I know that we've all forgotten about the time that Joe Biden decided to stab every Afghan ally in the back by pulling out of Afghanistan so precipitously that the government fell to the Taliban, and then essentially handing over the city of Kabul to terrorists, and then not providing any of the resources necessary for our military to evacuate the people we needed to evacuate, leaving hundreds, if not thousands of Americans behind, and getting 13 American service members killed in the process.

01:00:16.000 Now, it really destroyed Biden's approval rating at the time, but I know that we have a short memory.

01:00:20.000 And so people prefer to forget about these things.

01:00:23.000 It was one of the worst things, if not the worst thing I've ever seen a president of the United States do.

01:00:27.000 And yesterday, there was testimony from a U.S.

01:00:30.000 Marine Corps sergeant.

01:00:32.000 The U.S.

01:00:33.000 Marine Corps sergeant's name is Tyler Vargas Andrews.

01:00:37.000 And he gave testimony on the catastrophe of what happened in Afghanistan the weekend before the pullout.

01:00:44.000 Here's what he had to say.

01:00:46.000 We reassured him of the ease of fire on the suicide bomber.

01:00:48.000 Pointedly, we asked him for engagement authority and permission. 0.82

01:00:50.000 We asked him if we could shoot.

01:00:53.000 Our battalion commander said, and I quote, I don't know, end quote.

01:00:57.000 Myself and my team leader asked very harshly, well, who does?

01:01:00.000 Because this is your responsibility, sir.

01:01:02.000 He again replied, he did not know, but would find out.

01:01:05.000 We received no update and never got our answer.

01:01:08.000 Eventually, the individual disappeared.

01:01:10.000 To this day, we believe he was a suicide bomber.

01:01:12.000 We made everyone on the ground aware.

01:01:14.000 Operations had briefly halted, but then started again.

01:01:16.000 Plain and simple, we were ignored.

01:01:18.000 About 1730, Staff Sergeant Darren Hoover, friend and mentor, came to get me from the tower to go help find an Afghan interpreter in the crowd.

01:01:33.000 I stayed there waiting for the family members standing against a two-foot canal wall.

01:01:36.000 Ten minutes passed.

01:01:41.000 Then a flash and a massive wave of pressure.

01:01:44.000 I'm thrown 12 feet onto the ground, but instantly knew what had happened.

01:01:47.000 I opened my eyes to Marines dead or unconscious lying around me.

01:01:54.000 This particular military member lost an arm and a leg and internal organs.

01:01:58.000 He's had 44 surgeries to date.

01:02:01.000 And according to Vargas Andrews, no one wanted to hear the post-blast report at all.

01:02:06.000 At all.

01:02:08.000 And no one should ever forget the stab in the back that that came from the Biden administration to our own military members.

01:02:13.000 And again, our allies and to Americans were left on the ground there.

01:02:17.000 It was the it was a signally cowardly pullout by Joe Biden in the manner.

01:02:22.000 And even if you agree with the idea, the United States should not have been there.

01:02:25.000 The manner in which the pullout was done was disastrous and horrifying.

01:02:28.000 I know that we've forgotten about and put it in the rearview mirror.

01:02:31.000 It is the single worst thing that Joe Biden has done to date.

01:02:32.000 He's done an awful lot of bad things.

01:02:33.000 It is by far the single worst thing that he has done.

01:02:36.000 And the fact that you now have Marines who, again, where were the hearings when Democrats were in charge of Congress?

01:02:40.000 I mean, I was under the impression that everybody was pro-military.

01:02:43.000 So where were the hearings when it came to why 13 American service members were murdered by a suicide bomber in the middle of a supposedly well-planned pullout by the Biden administration?

01:02:54.000 Why that's not at the top of the national news, even now, is beyond me.

01:02:57.000 Like, this will not appear.

01:02:58.000 That clip will not appear on the net.

01:02:59.000 You know if Trump were president, it would.

01:03:01.000 It's an amazing, amazing thing, and it is deeply upsetting and gut-churning, obviously.

01:03:07.000 Okay.

01:03:08.000 Well, the rest of the show is continuing right now.
