The Ben Shapiro Show - They-Them Shot Up A Gay Nightclub | Ep. 1617

00:00:00.000 The Colorado gay nightclub shooter is apparently non-binary, and the media and Democrats are utterly baffled.

00:00:05.000 Anthony Fauci gives a final press conference lecturing Americans yet again on masks and vaccines, and the NHL goes woke.

00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:32.000 It's that simple.

00:00:33.000 There's no reason to give that much money to Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile.

00:00:36.000 You're spending over 80 bucks a month for wireless services.

00:00:38.000 You could get the same service on the same network at PeerTalk for about half the price.

00:00:50.000 Pure Talk, on the other hand, wants to keep you happy.

00:00:53.000 That's why they've invested in a U.S.-based customer service team.

00:00:55.000 It's also why they give you so many more data options, because why exactly would they charge you for data you don't need?

00:01:00.000 I switched over to Pure Talk because I like supporting veteran-owned U.S.-based companies that have my best interests at heart and aren't charging me for data I'm not using.

00:01:06.000 It took me less than 10 minutes to make the switch.

00:01:08.000 I'm saving a ton of money.

00:01:29.000 Also, that's not the only place I nap, because my kids wake me up at all times of the morning and in the evening, and that means that if I can grab some quick shut-eye at like 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I'm gonna jump on that Allform couch and take a quick nap.

00:02:26.000 Step up your sofa game today.

00:02:28.000 Well, the narrative was fully formed.

00:02:30.000 Fully formed as soon, literally the moment, that there was a shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

00:02:37.000 The entire legacy media infrastructure, every major Democrat in America decided this was the fault of Libs of TikTok.

00:02:44.000 And Tucker Carlson, and Matt Walsh, and Chris Rufo, and me, and any other American who did not like Drag Queen Story Hour, or who was not in favor of same-sex marriage, or who believed that transing the children is a bad thing.

00:02:56.000 It was all our fault.

00:02:58.000 It was our fault.

00:02:58.000 It was your fault, if you believe.

00:03:00.000 If there's anything wrong with any of those things, then it is your fault if a deranged individual goes to a gay nightclub and shoots a bunch of people. 0.99

00:03:07.000 Now, the narrative was crap from the beginning. 0.99

00:03:10.000 It's crap because unless you are inciting violence, actively calling for people to do violence to other human beings, you are not responsible for the violence that they do. 0.99

00:03:17.000 This has been the rule in free speech for literally ever. 0.99

00:03:21.000 And yet the left jumped out in front of the story before they even bothered to wait for any facts at all and said that essentially the uptick in sentiment against the transing of the children was responsible for a mass shooting at a gay nightclub.

00:03:34.000 Because this is the game that they always play.

00:03:36.000 It doesn't matter whether the person was deranged.

00:03:39.000 It doesn't matter if the person had a long history of red flags that were ignored by police.

00:03:44.000 It doesn't matter whether the square peg fits in the round hole or not.

00:03:48.000 The narrative is always and forever.

00:03:49.000 My political opponents are responsible for murder.

00:03:51.000 Therefore, there must be a censorship regime.

00:03:53.000 That was the narrative.

00:03:54.000 Now, all they had to do is wait for the facts.

00:03:56.000 And it's important to remember this.

00:03:58.000 This shooting did not happen all that long ago.

00:04:00.000 The shooting happened just days ago.

00:04:02.000 All the members of the media had to do was wait for the facts, which is, in fact, their job.

00:04:07.000 I understand we have a media infrastructure that rewards people who are first and wrong rather than rewarding people who wait and are right.

00:04:13.000 That is just how our media infrastructure generally works now.

00:04:16.000 If you jump on a story and it turns out that you're wrong 90% of the time but 10% of the time you're right, we remember the 10% of the time that you're right and we forget the 90% of the time you're wrong because you were first and that's the really important thing.

00:04:26.000 And so there really is no disincentive for members of the media to create fully formed narratives completely In coincidence with Democratic priorities, and then to just run those out there.

00:04:37.000 Because after all, if they're wrong, we'll just memory hole it.

00:04:40.000 Three months from now, nobody's going to remember that the media made a complete mockery of themselves.

00:04:44.000 Nobody's going to remember that all the media had to do was wait for a few days.

00:04:47.000 Now, what am I talking about here?

00:04:48.000 What I'm talking about here is the news this morning that the Colorado club shooting suspect is non-binary, according to his attorneys.

00:04:55.000 Poof goes the narrative.

00:04:56.000 It's gone.

00:04:57.000 Watch how fast this story gets memory hold now.

00:04:59.000 According to Axios.com, the public defenders for the suspect in the mass shooting at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub said in a Tuesday night court filing obtained by a New York Times reporter, their client is non-binary and uses they them pronouns and the media are confused and bewildered and puzzled because after all, This throws a wrench into all of their greatest hopes and desires regarding the narrative.

00:05:19.000 Remember, from the very beginning, it was perfectly obvious this person was deranged.

00:05:22.000 How did we know this person was deranged?

00:05:23.000 Not just because they committed a mass shooting, which is deranged activity, but also because we knew within hours that this person had been arrested last year for threatening his mother with a gun and threatened to blow her up with a homemade bomb before the police arrested him and then didn't take away his guns.

00:05:37.000 So that would be pretty good evidence of being a deranged violence individual who should have been on the police radar, should it not?

00:05:43.000 But we were told that didn't matter.

00:05:44.000 There were full op-eds in the New York Times saying this was not about mental illness.

00:05:47.000 This was not about deranged violence.

00:05:49.000 This is about nothing except for the broad spectrum narrative that the right is evil and must be silenced.

00:05:54.000 And we need to shut it down, shut it all down.

00:05:57.000 We need to stop Elon Musk from opening up Twitter to evil, nefarious folk who disagree with us.

00:06:02.000 We need to make sure that everyone we disagree with on YouTube gets demonetized.

00:06:05.000 We have to make sure that the language of the right is never heard again. 0.99

00:06:09.000 Because that's the only way to assure that gay people don't just get randomly shot at a nightclub.

00:06:14.000 That was the narrative. 0.94

00:06:15.000 And they ran with it.

00:06:16.000 And boy did they run with it.

00:06:17.000 It has been non-stop blanket narrative coverage since the shooting.

00:06:21.000 And now it turns out that the suspect is saying that he is non-binary.

00:06:25.000 And this puts the media in a huge pickle.

00:06:27.000 It puts the media in a pickle for a couple reasons.

00:06:29.000 One, it turns out the narrative is not quite as simple as they thought it was.

00:06:33.000 Two, they now cannot claim that this person is mentally ill or deranged because after all, they've created a system in which you declaring that you are a non-binary human, a thing that does not exist.

00:06:43.000 We are all members of biological sexes.

00:06:46.000 That you declaring that you are non-binary actually makes you more sane. 1.00

00:06:50.000 That in some ways, you saying that you are non-binary, what that is, that is the true you.

00:06:54.000 You're not allowed to doubt anything.

00:06:56.000 What the shooter says now must be taken as absolute, verifiable truth.

00:07:02.000 You have to take at face value this person saying that he is a they-them. 0.98

00:07:06.000 You must.

00:07:07.000 Because after all, you must respect the pronouns. 0.91

00:07:09.000 They've created this pathetic logical box for themselves.

00:07:11.000 Now, for the rest of us who live in the normal world, this was always a very clear story. 0.96

00:07:15.000 Deranged individual goes and does something evil.

00:07:17.000 Boom! 0.99

00:07:17.000 End of story. 0.99

00:07:19.000 And then, when the person goes to prison and suggests that he is a member of a they-them species that does not exist, you say, oh well, because this person obviously is a deranged individual with mental illness.

00:07:29.000 Like, okay, all fits in there.

00:07:31.000 But now, the left is confused and they're bewildered and they're puzzled and they don't know what to do.

00:07:35.000 And so, some of the ways they've been reacting, quite fascinating.

00:07:39.000 So Ben Collins, who's just the worst actor in all of this, he's the senior reporter at NBC News, who's blamed literally the entire right for everything that has happened right here.

00:07:48.000 He's appeared on television basically saying that if you oppose Drag Queen Story Hour, which in fact is a wonderful, wonderful thing, he said this on TV, that Drag Queen Story Hour is wonderful.

00:07:57.000 It's where little kids get to meet drag queens. 1.00

00:07:58.000 Why would that possibly be?

00:08:00.000 Why would you oppose that?

00:08:01.000 Why would that be a bad thing?

00:08:03.000 Well, he was also on your TV yesterday, was Ben Collins, suggesting that the Nazis are coming. 0.99

00:08:09.000 That really what this is about, it's the evil people at Bright Barber who are calling for death upon gay, lesbian, trans people. 0.88

00:08:16.000 He can't provide any evidence that that's happening, but you know, it's really, the Nazis are coming, guys. 0.96

00:08:19.000 And you know, the Nazis, they really didn't like gender non-binary people.

00:08:24.000 So if you say that there is no such thing as a non-binary gender, if you say that boys are boys and girls are girls, basically you're a Nazi. 0.98

00:08:32.000 And because you're a Nazi, people are shooting up gay nightclubs. 0.98

00:08:34.000 This is Ben Collins yesterday. 0.99

00:08:37.000 There is a long history of this.

00:08:39.000 You know, I talked to this woman named Jennifer Merciasek, who's a rhetoric professor at Texas A&M.

00:08:45.000 And she was telling me about this thing called hate objects that come up in, you know, pre-fascist governments.

00:08:51.000 Where they take people they describe as degenerates, right?

00:08:55.000 And, you know, before Nazi Germany, it was, in fact, gay people, people who played with, you know, gender conformity. 0.92

00:09:03.000 And they say they are contributing to the downfall of society. 0.81

00:09:06.000 They are the reason that, you know, things cost more, that the crops aren't coming up, right?

00:09:13.000 We have been through this in the past.

00:09:15.000 It's very dark. 1.00

00:09:18.000 Okay, this pathetic person, he's a terrible reporter. 0.99

00:09:22.000 And again, he spent, just blanketed himself on TV, talking about how the right was to blame for the shooting. 0.99

00:09:27.000 It was Nazi Germany.

00:09:28.000 It was Breitbart.

00:09:29.000 It was Tucker Carlson.

00:09:30.000 It was all of them.

00:09:31.000 Well, this morning he issues a couple of updates on the Colorado Springs story.

00:09:34.000 Just a few updates, you know, it was last night.

00:09:35.000 A few updates.

00:09:37.000 The suspect is requesting to go by they, them, according to court docs provided to the New York Times.

00:09:41.000 The Colorado suspect was 15 when they requested a name change.

00:09:45.000 So first of all, I love that the entire media has to immediately shift I mean, sure, he just murdered five gay people and injured another 25 people, but the important thing?

00:09:52.000 No, that's a dude.

00:09:53.000 And you guys are like, no, no, no, we gotta respect his pronouns.

00:09:56.000 We gotta. 0.98

00:09:57.000 I mean, sure, he just murdered five gay people and injured another 25 people. 0.99

00:10:00.000 But the important thing, he's a they. 0.99

00:10:04.000 This person's harassment by Edgelords online was thoroughly documented on the hate site Encyclopedia Dramatica, which outlined a harassment campaign repeatedly calling this person a They accrued some of those posts and mocked the person's grandmother's GoFundMe to send the person to Japan.

00:10:16.000 I'm studiously avoiding saying the name of the shooter because this is something we do on the show to prevent mass shootings, something no one in the media apparently will do.

00:10:23.000 We on this show and over at our site, over at Daily Wire, we do not mention the names of mass shooters because it gives them exactly the sort of notoriety and glory they're looking for.

00:10:30.000 No one in the mass legacy media will do this.

00:10:32.000 It's amazing.

00:10:32.000 No one.

00:10:33.000 And then they'll blame us, obviously.

00:10:35.000 Encyclopedia Dramatica, the hate site that compiled years of records of online bullying of the Colorado Springs suspect, updated the page when they realized that the shooter had an entry for years, adding that this person, quote, shot up a gay bar because he was tired of all the harassment.

00:10:47.000 OK, so the narrative is now shifting from Ben Collins in real time.

00:10:49.000 So now the shooter he's sympathetic to.

00:10:53.000 Now the shooter had a rough childhood.

00:10:55.000 Everybody was bullying this non-binary person, and that's probably why. 1.00

00:10:58.000 So, as it turns out, according to Ben Collins, the right is to blame because this person was a disciple of the right.

00:11:04.000 With no evidence, by the way, none.

00:11:06.000 I mean, the media tried to trot out not the relevant fact that this person was a psychologically disturbed human being with violent tendencies.

00:11:12.000 They didn't care about that.

00:11:13.000 They cared that his grandfather was a Republican politician in California or something.

00:11:17.000 Which is an amazing way to journalism.

00:11:18.000 I mean, that's just high-level journalism-ing.

00:11:20.000 Well, you know, we don't know anything about this person, but you know what his grandfather was?

00:11:24.000 What?

00:11:26.000 His grandfather was?

00:11:29.000 Excuse me?

00:11:30.000 My grandfather, like, ran... One grandfather ran a clothing store, and one advised people on speech writing at, like, AT&T.

00:11:37.000 What does that have to do with anything?

00:11:39.000 But apparently that was the relevant fact.

00:11:41.000 The relevant fact is that his granddad wore a MAGA hat one time.

00:11:44.000 Not that he was a psychologically disturbed individual arrested by the cops last year.

00:11:47.000 And the other relevant fact, of course, is that this person had to be a member of the right without any evidence whatsoever.

00:11:53.000 No evidence.

00:11:54.000 And then, the evidence comes in that the person actually is non-binary because this is what the person now claims, and apparently has been claiming, And their response is, well, probably if they are non-binary, they are non-binary.

00:12:08.000 It's because of bullying.

00:12:09.000 So it's still the right. 0.96

00:12:10.000 So either this person was bullied by the right into shooting up a gay club, or the person was a disciple of the right, so shot up a gay club.

00:12:17.000 Or maybe your narratives aren't so comfy cozy. 0.72

00:12:19.000 Maybe they aren't so bad.

00:12:20.000 And maybe you guys manufacture narratives because you want the outcome.

00:12:23.000 You want the censorship.

00:12:25.000 You want people you disagree with silenced.

00:12:27.000 Only the left does this in modern America.

00:12:29.000 Only the left immediately jumps on instances of violence and suggests that half the country has to be shut up on controversial public issues, including transing of the children.

00:12:38.000 Only you do this.

00:12:39.000 It's nasty and it's cynical. 1.00

00:12:40.000 It's disgusting. 0.87

00:12:41.000 And you violate your most basic obligation as journalists when you do this.

00:12:44.000 Because again, you guys are the fact finders, right?

00:12:46.000 You're above it.

00:12:47.000 You're supposed to be.

00:12:48.000 You guys are the are the defenders of the American Republic.

00:12:51.000 You guys keep telling us this.

00:12:52.000 You journalismists, you.

00:12:54.000 You keep telling us that this is your job is to bring information to the public.

00:12:57.000 How could anyone label you an enemy of the people?

00:12:59.000 How could anyone say that sort of stuff?

00:13:01.000 No one should say that sort of stuff.

00:13:03.000 You guys are objective journalism experts who focus first on the facts.

00:13:07.000 That's all you care about is just the facts.

00:13:10.000 Except that you don't.

00:13:11.000 Except you don't give a bleep about the fact.

00:13:13.000 You care about the narrative.

00:13:14.000 And so when you jump two feet first on a rake, and it smacks you directly between the eyes, that's a you problem, guys.

00:13:21.000 You made this happen for yourselves.

00:13:22.000 All you had to do was report the fact as they developed, and you couldn't.

00:13:25.000 You couldn't even wait long enough to do it.

00:13:28.000 And by the way, you think that if they had waited for 48 hours and it turns out that the guy had some manifesto online where he said he was a big fan of Tucker Carlson, you think that you wouldn't have had that conversation?

00:13:38.000 You still would have had the same conversation.

00:13:39.000 You just would have had actual facts to back you.

00:13:41.000 But you had no facts to back you and you jumped anyway because you don't care.

00:13:44.000 The narrative comes first.

00:13:45.000 The facts come second.

00:13:46.000 That's all that matters to you.

00:13:49.000 And eventually, will Ben Collins lose his job?

00:13:51.000 Of course he won't.

00:13:52.000 Of course he won't.

00:13:53.000 Will anyone in the media who jumped on this lose their job over this?

00:13:56.000 Of course not.

00:13:57.000 We'll just forget about it.

00:13:58.000 It'll all go away.

00:14:00.000 And a year from now, they will talk about how they are the objective journalismers who love the fact, don't care about narrative, they report without fear or favor, that all they care about is bringing you the crucial information you need in order to form your views.

00:14:18.000 But let us not forget, let us not forget what's happened over the course of the last few days.

00:14:22.000 Literally yesterday, yesterday, this narrative imploded on them like the Hindenburg.

00:14:27.000 Literally yesterday, the entire legacy media, all of it, was doing this routine.

00:14:33.000 So Nicole Wallace over at MSNBC, she was blaming Tucker Carlson for all of this, of course. 0.93

00:14:39.000 I think, Donna, that the part of the story that makes people feel like it isn't about them should be thrust under the Klieg lights.

00:14:46.000 I mean, everyone that spreads hate, and there are hosts who were named in the coverage yesterday.

00:14:51.000 I think Tucker Carlson gives a lot of air time to hate for the LGBTQ community.

00:14:57.000 A lot of elected Republicans do as well.

00:15:01.000 And this tragedy has not shamed them at all.

00:15:06.000 Okay, by the way, I should note here, there are further updates on the shooter, okay?

00:15:11.000 His upbringing is marked, this is according to the Denver Gazette, by a biological father with a criminal history who dabbled in drugs and worked in the porn industry, and a mother with multiple arrests in California and Texas.

00:15:21.000 Also, shortly before he changed his name, the suspected shooter apparently was a target of online bullying and showed signs of fascination with gay culture.

00:15:29.000 Oh, fascinating.

00:15:31.000 Fascinating.

00:15:33.000 Really well done.

00:15:34.000 But it's Tucker Carlson, probably.

00:15:36.000 It's Tucker Carlson's fault.

00:15:37.000 That's probably it.

00:15:38.000 Meanwhile, MSNBC's Donna Edwards did the same thing, blaming Tucker Carlson. 0.89

00:15:42.000 I have real questions about these platforms like Twitter that continue to amplify and allow this kind of hateful language that then plays in to violence happening.

00:15:55.000 I think, you know, I mean it has to, it has to stop and these platforms have to bear some responsibility for their role in contributing to it and I don't even have much to say About a Tucker Carlson or anybody else who lifts up violence and glorifies violence against a community and then says hands off when it comes to violence that actually does happen in that community.

00:16:23.000 They all did it.

00:16:24.000 They all did it.

00:16:25.000 The entire legacy media, virtually all of them, without exception.

00:16:30.000 And not just members of the legacy media.

00:16:31.000 And there was lots of, I mean, Kara Swisher, the world's worst tech journalist, just an awful, awful censorship-driven tech journalist, supposed tech journalist over at the New York Times, calling out the quote-unquote year-long propaganda from the right against the LGBT community for what happened in Colorado Springs, of course. 0.82

00:16:50.000 More than two dozen people were injured.

00:16:52.000 At least one club patron attacked and subdued the shooter, pinning him to the floor until the police arrived.

00:16:57.000 Police now have a suspect in custody.

00:16:59.000 He sounds, you know, problematic and on lists and stuff like that.

00:17:03.000 A lot of the right wing is saying, don't politicize this right after the event.

00:17:07.000 And I think I shall politicize it because this is a year of propaganda from the right that smeared the LGBTQ and especially trans community as groomers.

00:17:16.000 All this legislation, all this hatred, It's, you know, Lauren Boebert saying she feels this is very upsetting has been right at the forefront of using terms like groomers and pedos around gay people and trans people. 0.84

00:17:30.000 And Matt Walsh, who is just the most loathsome person I think you've ever got to meet, is immediately saying, oh, that they're trying to castrate young people, which is crazy. 0.92

00:17:38.000 OK, so this is one of the more loathsome people in the media.

00:17:46.000 By the way, it is chemical castration when you actually pump sterilizing drugs into young people because they are gender confused, or when you perform surgeries on minors that sterilize them. 0.69

00:17:57.000 That is a fact.

00:17:59.000 But Kara Swisher, she had somebody to blame.

00:18:01.000 She had somebody to blame, and that's what mattered most of all.

00:18:03.000 Or, for example, the New York Times.

00:18:04.000 Today, a columnist named Lauren Huff has a piece titled, This Holiday I'm Going to a Gay Bar.

00:18:11.000 And here is the key section.

00:18:13.000 When I heard about the news about the shooting at Club Q, an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, I couldn't help but think of the rhetoric spewed by those like James Dobson.

00:18:20.000 That's James Dobson's fault, guys.

00:18:21.000 Focus on the family.

00:18:22.000 They're to blame.

00:18:23.000 We know what we're up against.

00:18:24.000 We heard it growing up in church and at home.

00:18:25.000 We heard the words they use in polite company about loving the sinner and hating the sin.

00:18:29.000 We heard the words they'd use when they'd been listening to Christian radio or their actual ministry.

00:18:33.000 Or Rush Limbaugh.

00:18:34.000 Or Fox News.

00:18:34.000 About abominations and predators in bathrooms and groomers on the internet.

00:18:37.000 And the words they use when they've had one too many.

00:18:39.000 The names they call those who could be our friends.

00:18:41.000 Who could be us.

00:18:42.000 The words we heard and were taught and were forced to read.

00:18:45.000 A whole lot of those words came out of Colorado Springs.

00:18:46.000 The headquarters of Focus on the Family.

00:18:48.000 Ah, it's Focus on the Family.

00:18:50.000 According to this columnist for the New York Times.

00:18:52.000 And by the way, it's not just the members of the journalism and op-ed community.

00:18:56.000 Right?

00:18:56.000 From objective journalists to the op-ed community.

00:18:59.000 It's also your favorite politicians.

00:19:01.000 So Pete Buttigieg.

00:19:03.000 So you think the political discourse that's going on now is a contributing factor to this kind of violence?

00:19:07.000 You can't target a group to be feared and to be hated.

00:19:09.000 was gay, which means that he's amazing at his job.

00:19:11.000 Pete Buttigieg, he was out there and he was making the same point. The idea is that this shooting could be laid at the at the feet of all of his political opponents.

00:19:19.000 So you think the political discourse that's going on now is a contributing factor to this kind of violence?

00:19:25.000 You can't target a group to be feared and to be hated.

00:19:29.000 A group, by the way, that never did anything to you, but is politically convenient to attack.

00:19:34.000 And then act surprised when a disturbed person or who knows goes out and follows that through with physical violence.

00:19:44.000 There has always been a relationship between the social and political demonization of a group and that group's vulnerability to being physically attacked.

00:19:55.000 Oh, so, oh, OK.

00:19:58.000 It probably has evidence to back that, right?

00:20:00.000 No.

00:20:01.000 No, he has no evidence to back that at all.

00:20:03.000 But he did tweet about it as well, just to make clear that this is what Pete Buttigieg thinks.

00:20:07.000 The Secretary of Transportation of your federal government, he tweeted the same thing.

00:20:10.000 Quote, if you're a politician or media figure who sets up the LGBTQ community to be hated and feared, not because any of us ever harmed you, but because you find it useful, don't you dare act surprised when this kind of violence follows. 0.55

00:20:19.000 Don't you dare act surprised.

00:20:22.000 Ah!

00:20:23.000 Why, it's almost as though you had an agenda, and the agenda is that we have to support and celebrate everything that you want us to support and celebrate, or you're going to blame us for murder.

00:20:30.000 Well, I'm sorry that your narrative fell apart.

00:20:32.000 I'm sorry reality happened to you.

00:20:35.000 I'm sorry that you guys decided that you were going to jump on a narrative because it was convenient and because you want it promoted.

00:22:57.000 Love it.

00:22:57.000 I sleep like a baby even in the midst of the busiest season of the year.

00:23:01.000 A mattress should never be a one-size-fits-all solution because your body is not one-size-fits-all.

00:23:05.000 Your mattress should not be either.

00:23:07.000 Helix has a sleep quiz.

00:23:13.000 I was matched.

00:23:46.000 Better sleep starts right now.

00:23:48.000 Okay, so the reaction in the media, this says it all.

00:23:50.000 So CNN had to finally report this this morning.

00:23:52.000 And Alison Camerota was reporting that the shooter in this case, in his court filings, says he is they and that he's non-binary.

00:24:00.000 Now in this clip, there'll be a couple of points where you hear... That is CNN not doing what we do here at Daily Wire on the show.

00:24:07.000 That is CNN saying the shooter's name.

00:24:09.000 We don't do that on the show, as I've explained already, because again, we don't wish to give notoriety to people who desperately seek notoriety.

00:24:16.000 It is just another incentive for them to go out and commit shootings like this.

00:24:19.000 But, there's pretty good social science on that.

00:24:21.000 Because again, we care about mass shootings, but apparently members of the media Very often, they don't care enough to either wait for the facts on them or to stop using the names of the shooters glorifying them.

00:24:32.000 In any case, Alison Camerota reports on this and you can see how upset they are that the narrative just collapsed in on them like a dying star.

00:24:39.000 Attorneys for the accused shooter say in new court filings tonight that the suspect now identifies as non-binary.

00:24:49.000 In a footnote to a motion asserting legal privileges, the public defenders say, quote, is non-binary.

00:24:57.000 They use they them pronouns and for the purposes of all formal filings will be addressed as So in other words, not Mr. or Ms.

00:25:08.000 Joining me now, CNN political commentator Errol Lewis.

00:25:10.000 Also back with me, Al Franken and Joe Walsh.

00:25:12.000 I don't know what to say about that.

00:25:13.000 I mean, that's not anything that we had heard from his background.

00:25:16.000 You know, people have been looking into his background.

00:25:18.000 And I don't know if anybody here... Are you guys lawyers?

00:25:21.000 I mean, you know, I don't know if... I don't know what to say about that.

00:25:24.000 I mean, that's what he's now saying.

00:25:28.000 I love that they're all puzzled.

00:25:29.000 What are we supposed to say about this?

00:25:30.000 And then she gets to... Is she allowed to doubt the person's non-binary identity?

00:25:34.000 By the way, I love when she says, well, we have no evidence.

00:25:36.000 I mean, people were looking into his background and we couldn't find any evidence that he did.

00:25:39.000 First of all, you didn't wait for evidence for five seconds before you decided to label this person a right-wing fanatic.

00:25:45.000 So there's that.

00:25:46.000 Don't pretend to give a bleep about evidence.

00:25:48.000 You don't care.

00:25:48.000 You're just upset because your narrative died.

00:25:52.000 You're just upset because the thing blew up like the top of Nakatomi Plaza at the end of Die Hard.

00:25:58.000 Like, that's all you care about.

00:26:00.000 And here's something else.

00:26:02.000 You in the media, you don't get to do it.

00:26:03.000 You don't get to do it.

00:26:03.000 You don't get to say, well, you know, there was no evidence until five seconds ago that this person was non-binary.

00:26:07.000 We were searching, we were searching.

00:26:09.000 But I was told that the minute that someone declared, by your standards, that somebody was non-binary, we all have to assume that they were non-binary. 0.57

00:26:16.000 Forever.

00:26:18.000 We're not allowed to mention.

00:26:19.000 We're not allowed to deadname the person.

00:26:20.000 In fact, you using this person's dead name would be an act of bigotry by you.

00:26:26.000 Welcome to the world that you've created for yourselves.

00:26:28.000 If narratives matter more than facts, then you don't have to worry about things like whether this person identified as non-binary 30 seconds ago or not.

00:26:36.000 This was always a very clear story.

00:26:38.000 A disturbed human being went and did an evil thing.

00:26:40.000 It was always clear.

00:26:42.000 And all you had to do was wait for the facts, and you couldn't. 0.86

00:26:45.000 Now the story's about your malfeasance and it's about the cynical garbage that was pumped out there by Democratic top politicians suggesting that anybody who didn't vote for the Respect for Marriage Act or anybody who wants to ban the mutilation of minors in their state is somehow complicit in a murderous attack. 0.95

00:27:04.000 It's about you guys now. 0.91

00:27:06.000 That's what this is about, because that is a broad national story.

00:27:08.000 You want to talk about broad national things that affect everybody?

00:27:10.000 How about the coverage of the news?

00:27:11.000 How about politicians saying that half the country should be silenced? 0.96

00:27:14.000 How about your political leaders telling you that you're a bigot because you don't like drag queens gyrating around in front of children, and if you oppose it, then probably you want people shot.

00:27:23.000 That's a national news story, and that does affect everybody.

00:27:26.000 And pretending that it doesn't is a joke.

00:27:29.000 It's amazing, amazing stuff.

00:27:32.000 And meanwhile, speaking of our great moral leaders over in the media.

00:27:36.000 So, today there is another horrific bombing.

00:27:40.000 This is the first bus bombing in Jerusalem.

00:27:42.000 It's happened since, I think, 2016, but the first in Israel since 2019.

00:27:46.000 A Canadian and American citizen, apparently, was killed.

00:27:52.000 It was a 16-year-old boy named Aryeh Shekepek.

00:27:56.000 He's a Canadian kid.

00:27:57.000 He was just going to school that day on the bus and he was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist.

00:28:03.000 19 other people have been injured, including an American citizen.

00:28:07.000 I don't expect that the Biden administration will launch some sort of FBI investigation into who actually conducted this and whether there was complicity from the Palestinian Authority or Hamas.

00:28:17.000 We send hundreds of millions of dollars to the Palestinian Authority and we send financial aid to Hamas as well, by the way.

00:28:22.000 But I'd just like to point out here that our clear-eyed members of the media, they really are quite moral and amazing.

00:28:30.000 So first, you have members of the media who suggest this is an attack on quote-unquote Israelis.

00:28:34.000 First of all, it's an attack on Jews. 0.97

00:28:36.000 It was directed against Jews.

00:28:37.000 Many of the people who were injured are not actually Israeli citizens.

00:28:40.000 They're Americans or Canadians. 0.96

00:28:43.000 But beyond that, it was just yesterday that Whoopi Goldberg, our great moral leader, over at The View, literally questioning on national television whether Hamas and the Taliban are terrorist groups.

00:28:52.000 After all, terrorism is in the eye of the beholder.

00:28:55.000 She tweeted something comparing the US, Israel, Hamas, and the Taliban as all terrorist organizations.

00:29:03.000 And she has maybe way more knowledge and experience in the very complicated Middle Eastern relations.

00:29:08.000 But I did find that being on a foreign committee and comparing the country to a terrorist, a known terrorist, those are organized terrorist communities, that, not Israel, but Hamas and the Taliban, that- It depends on who you talk to.

00:29:22.000 Right.

00:29:23.000 Well, I mean, those are, that's how they're recognized as terrorist organizations.

00:29:26.000 But it does depend on who you talk to.

00:29:28.000 Well, they're recognized in this country.

00:29:30.000 Right.

00:29:31.000 It depends on who you talk to, says Whoopi Goldberg.

00:29:33.000 By the way, what they're talking about there is Ilhan Omar, at one point in a tweet, lumped together Hamas, the Taliban, Israel, and the United States.

00:29:41.000 Okay, and Whoopi Goldberg, because she has to defend Ilhan Omar, because she's a member of the radical intersectional left, she said, well, are Hamas and the Taliban terrorists?

00:29:48.000 Yes, they're terrorist groups.

00:29:49.000 Yes, they're terrorist groups.

00:29:52.000 I should just note here that Whoopi Goldberg has had no such compunction in the past about labeling her fellow Americans terrorists.

00:29:57.000 It was just a few months ago that she labeled House Republicans domestic terrorists.

00:30:01.000 When the chairman of the Judiciary Committee says that Antifa is a myth, that is giving cover.

00:30:06.000 How long until mainstream Christianity is deemed domestic extremism?

00:30:12.000 The problem is not that the Republican Party is racist.

00:30:17.000 When did Washington really get to be a place where stopping domestic terrorism is divisive?

00:30:28.000 I guess when they're part of the problem.

00:30:30.000 When the domestic terrorists are voting on the bill.

00:30:35.000 Got it, guys?

00:30:37.000 According to Whoopi Goldberg, Hamas, the Taliban, not terrorists, Republicans who vote against an overbroad bill targeting quote-unquote domestic extremism, that may wrap into it a bunch of people who just disagree.

00:30:48.000 Those people are the real domestic terrorists.

00:30:51.000 Slow clap.

00:30:52.000 Slow clap for Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the geniuses over at The View.

00:30:55.000 A woman so brilliant that she literally believes everyone on earth is racist except for Hitler. 1.00

00:31:00.000 Remember, she once suggested that the Holocaust was not racist because Jews are white people.

00:31:04.000 Okay, meanwhile, Anthony Fauci did his final press conference as a member of the federal administration yesterday, and it was a tearful moment for all involved.

00:31:14.000 There were Tears.

00:31:15.000 There was laughter.

00:31:17.000 There was a weird incident where people actually tried to ask him a tough question, and Karine Jean-Pierre jumped in front of that question like a bodyguard taking a bullet.

00:31:25.000 It began with Karine Jean-Pierre praising Anthony Fauci as one of our great public servants who had completely blown everything during the pandemic, but apparently he did an amazing job, according to Karine Jean-Pierre.

00:31:34.000 Whether it be HIV-AIDS, Ebola, or COVID-19, for close to four decades and under seven Republican and Democratic presidents, Dr. Fauci has always led with the science, and our country is stronger and healthier because of his leadership.

00:31:56.000 Amazing.

00:31:57.000 And then Dr. Ashish Jha, who is the current COVID coordinator, he came out and praised Fauci as well, because there's nothing I love better than people on the public payroll as bureaucrats praising one another.

00:32:05.000 It's great.

00:32:07.000 I urge you to visit vaccines.gov to find a location where you can easily get an updated vaccine and please do it as soon as possible.

00:32:16.000 Thank you.

00:32:20.000 Well, hard to follow Dr. Fauci, who I would argue has been the most important consequential public servant in the United States in the last half century and a leader and a role model for so many of us.

00:32:32.000 So, Tony, thank you.

00:32:35.000 What a leader and what a role model.

00:32:36.000 A person who blew it along every step of the way, who flip-flopped on every major issue, and then who posed himself as the science, if you doubted any of the things that he was saying.

00:32:46.000 By the way, he said a bunch of stuff that wasn't particularly accurate yesterday, did Anthony Fauci.

00:32:51.000 So, first, there was this incident that was pretty amazing, where a reporter demanded that Anthony Fauci actually answer some questions about the origins of the virus.

00:32:59.000 Now, Anthony Fauci has been wildly incurious about the origins of the COVID virus in the first place.

00:33:05.000 The evidence suggests at this point that there is a significant possibility, if not probability, that the Wuhan virus was originally developed in a Chinese lab.

00:33:15.000 That it was essentially a piece of gain-of-function research that got loose because of bad protocols.

00:33:20.000 What we do know is that the Chinese government then covered it up probably since October.

00:33:24.000 That's not me, that's Scott Gottlieb, who's a moderate former head of the FDA.

00:33:28.000 In his book, he talks specifically about how China essentially hid this thing for months and months and months while it ran wild throughout Wuhan and then eventually infected the entire world, killing probably four or five million people. 0.64

00:33:38.000 But Anthony Fauci has been questioned significantly about the beginnings of the Wuhan virus because, after all, he's been an advocate of gain-of-function research to the point where the NIH was actually giving grants to labs in China to do gain-of-function research.

00:33:52.000 And if those grants weren't the ones that actually led to the gain-of-function research that led to COVID, money is fungible, and being part of the broader project is kind of a problem.

00:34:00.000 Now, again, Anthony Fauci's been wildly incurious about the origins of the virus.

00:34:04.000 He just keeps saying over and over that it was a wet market that drove all of this.

00:34:08.000 The evidence there is dicey at best.

00:34:10.000 The White House is like, we're not even answering questions about this.

00:34:11.000 You stop attacking Anthony Fauci by asking him actual questions.

00:34:14.000 Stop that right now.

00:34:17.000 It is not your turn!

00:34:18.000 She has a valid question. She's asked a valid question. You've asked your question. You should allow her to ask a question.

00:34:25.000 She's asked a valid question, Dr. Fauci, about the origin of COVID-19. It is not your turn. It is not your turn. You can't understand people. You can't read a press briefing.

00:34:36.000 You need to call from people across the room. She has a valid question. She's asked about the origin of COVID-19. I hear the question.

00:34:44.000 I hear your question, but we're not doing this the way you want it.

00:34:50.000 This is a disrespectful.

00:34:52.000 It is.

00:34:53.000 I'm done, Simon.

00:34:54.000 I'm done.

00:34:55.000 I'm Simon.

00:34:56.000 I'm done.

00:34:56.000 I'm done with you right now.

00:34:59.000 I'm done with you right now.

00:35:00.000 Oh, like a schoolmarm.

00:35:02.000 That's solid stuff right there.

00:35:04.000 Wait, I thought that was an attack on the press.

00:35:07.000 Kayleigh McEnany had said, I'm done with you right now. 0.99

00:35:09.000 I'm not going to answer your questions.

00:35:10.000 You're being rude right now.

00:35:11.000 And it was the end of the world.

00:35:12.000 You recall that Jim Acosta actually did this during a press conference with Donald Trump, where somebody took the microphone away, and this was the end of the Republic.

00:35:18.000 We have the White House press secretary telling people they can't ask Dr. Fauci questions about the origins of the virus.

00:35:24.000 I'm done with you.

00:35:24.000 We're not doing it your way.

00:35:26.000 And that apparently, according to the press, is just fine with them.

00:35:28.000 Thank you, sir or madam.

00:38:10.000 Okay, so Anthony Fauci did his final press conference yesterday, and after everybody Massaged Anthony Fauci.

00:38:16.000 He actually went out there and talked about what we should do this Thanksgiving.

00:38:20.000 Now, why exactly are folks on the left continuing to do this COVID emergency garbage?

00:38:26.000 Maybe one reason is because they keep using COVID emergency as a rationale for massive government spending.

00:38:31.000 So Joe Biden yesterday explained that he's actually going to extend the payment pause on student loan debt.

00:38:37.000 Now he doesn't have the legal rationale to do this.

00:38:38.000 We're not in the middle of an emergency.

00:38:40.000 You can't do this.

00:38:40.000 And now he has also been claiming, by the way, he's claimed two separate justifications for why he gets to pause student loan payments.

00:38:46.000 One is based on like the GI Bill.

00:38:48.000 He's saying people who served in the military, we have the power to suspend their student loans.

00:38:51.000 So for everyone, we should be able to do that.

00:38:53.000 Uh, no, that's not what it means.

00:38:55.000 But here he was explaining.

00:38:57.000 Folks, I want to give you an update on my student debt relief plan.

00:38:59.000 that out there. Joe Biden looks like the night. Joe Biden looks like the guy at the end of Indiana Jones and the last crusade who drinks from the wrong cup. Joe Biden is starting to look like that. It's not it's not a great look, guys.

00:39:13.000 Anyway, Joe Biden gave you an update that we're going to suspend student loan emergency manager emergencies.

00:39:19.000 Folks, I want to give you an update on my student debt relief plan. As Americans continue to recover from the pandemic, my administration has been working to provide student debt relief to millions of working and middle class families across the country.

00:39:34.000 But Republican special interests and elected officials sued to deny this relief, even for their own constituents.

00:39:41.000 But I'm completely confident my plan is legal.

00:39:44.000 But right now, it's on hold because of these lawsuits.

00:39:48.000 We're not going to back down, though, in our fight to give families breathing room.

00:39:51.000 That's why the Department of Justice is asking the Supreme Court of the United States to rule on the case.

00:39:57.000 But it isn't fair to ask tens of millions of borrowers, eligible for relief, to resume their student debt payments while the courts consider the lawsuit.

00:40:06.000 For that reason, the Secretary of Education- Wait, so it's not considering the lawsuit or is it an emergency?

00:40:09.000 What's the story?

00:40:10.000 So he's just going to continue doing this?

00:40:13.000 Great, guys.

00:40:14.000 Man, they love emergencies.

00:40:16.000 People in government, they love emergencies.

00:40:18.000 Emergencies allow you to do everything well past the sell-by date on the emergency.

00:40:22.000 Because they love power.

00:40:23.000 They just love it.

00:40:23.000 And it never goes away.

00:40:25.000 The power never goes away once you give it to them.

00:40:27.000 Alrighty guys, the rest of the show is continuing right now.

00:40:29.000 You're not going to want to miss it.

00:40:30.000 We'll be getting into the NHL, which has declared that trans men are men. 0.98

00:40:34.000 Also, Balenciaga, a fashion company pushing child porn. 0.99

00:40:37.000 Seriously. 0.99
