The Ben Shapiro Show - Using Covid To Take Down Trump | Ep. 1123

00:00:00.000 White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows says the United States cannot control the COVID pandemic.

00:00:04.000 Gavin Newsom rolls out insane new Thanksgiving restrictions in California.

00:00:08.000 And the left tries to manipulate social media into censoring conservatives.

00:01:37.000 Alrighty, so It's now past the debate.

00:01:40.000 We are in the homestretch here.

00:01:41.000 We have eight days until the election.

00:01:43.000 And right now, the polling for President Trump remains not great nationally, and it remains fairly competitive in a lot of the swing states.

00:01:50.000 So basically, this election comes down to seven or eight states.

00:01:53.000 It comes down to Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, all of which Trump must win.

00:01:57.000 And then it also comes down to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, maybe Iowa.

00:02:03.000 Trump needs to win Iowa, and he needs to win at least one of those others.

00:02:07.000 So Trump has a bit of a tall task in front of him.

00:02:09.000 Right now, the polls show in the RealClearPolitics National Average, Joe Biden up by about eight points.

00:02:13.000 The race seems to be extremely stable.

00:02:15.000 Florida, Biden and Trump are running essentially dead even.

00:02:19.000 According to a couple of new polls, Trump and Biden are running very close in Arizona.

00:02:22.000 They're running very close in North Carolina.

00:02:24.000 When you get into the upper Midwest, once you start getting into that so-called blue wall that Hillary Clinton had breached by Trump in a major way in 2016, Then the gaps start to look a little bit larger.

00:02:34.000 Wisconsin is starting to come down in terms of Joe Biden's lead.

00:02:37.000 So if you look at the polls in Wisconsin, Biden right now is up approximately 4.6 in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

00:02:45.000 He was up closer 8 to 10.

00:02:47.000 The latest poll from Fox News has Biden up about 5, 49 to 44 in Wisconsin.

00:02:52.000 That one was taken At the end of last week, if you look at Michigan, Michigan is the one that looks most out of reach.

00:02:58.000 That one is close to eight points.

00:02:59.000 And if you look at Pennsylvania, Joe Biden has about a five point lead in Pennsylvania.

00:03:04.000 So Trump needs to win one of those three states.

00:03:06.000 Now, the good news for Trump is that in Pennsylvania, there are a couple of polls that have him within three.

00:03:10.000 So the last three polls in Pennsylvania have Biden up two, three, and five, respectively.

00:03:15.000 So this is still a close election in the swing states, even if it is not particularly close nationally.

00:03:19.000 And that means that as we approach the election, Democrats are trotting out their final appeal.

00:03:24.000 Their final appeal.

00:03:25.000 is COVID. And it always was COVID because it turns out that President Trump's record up till the point that COVID hit was really, really good and put aside his rhetoric, which made a lot of people uncomfortable, right, left and center, put aside the tweets, put aside the silly statements. When it came to, can we deal with the silly statements? Most Americans were willing to treat the presidency like a plumber.

00:03:44.000 What your plumber says doesn't matter.

00:03:45.000 The question is, can he fix your toilet? 0.91

00:03:47.000 Well, as of February, early March, people were like, okay, well, so, my plumber, kinda crude, sometimes shows his butt crack, but at least he fixed my toilet, right? 0.68

00:03:56.000 My toilet's running great.

00:03:57.000 Right now, I got, you know, I had a clog in the shower, he came in, he unclogged the shower, and everything's hunky-dory.

00:04:03.000 Sure, I wouldn't want him babysitting my kids, per se.

00:04:05.000 His hygiene may not be the best.

00:04:07.000 But the bottom line is that everything is now running in a way that it was not running before, right?

00:04:10.000 That was, I think, the generalized take on Trump up until about February.

00:04:13.000 Then COVID hits and things stop running.

00:04:16.000 And not only do things stop running, then all of the crudities and the oddities seem to make a difference to the American people.

00:04:23.000 Because the American people suddenly want from their president something more than making things run on time.

00:04:28.000 They want the president to be a comforter-in-chief, as Joe Biden likes to call himself.

00:04:32.000 They want the president to be somebody who's going to empathize with them and show feelings and all this sort of stuff, which is not Trump's mainstay.

00:04:40.000 Now, that in and of itself would not be a killer app when it comes to Trump.

00:04:45.000 Because Trump is Trump, and we all know that Trump is Trump.

00:04:47.000 The killer app when it comes to Trump, and Democrats know this, is that they have to promulgate an extraordinary lie.

00:04:52.000 And the lie is that Trump is responsible for everybody who died from COVID.

00:04:55.000 That the Trump administration botched this in a way no other country did.

00:04:58.000 This is the great lie, and they keep putting it out there over and over and over.

00:05:02.000 A couple of weeks ago, I cut a video about President Trump, in which I said I was going to vote for him in 2020, even though I didn't vote for him in 2016.

00:05:09.000 I explained all the reasons why.

00:05:11.000 And in the video, I mentioned COVID, only to the extent that I said that I was impressed that Trump had gotten the resources where they needed to be, and also that Trump had not used the power at hand in order to centralize more power in the federal government.

00:05:23.000 He had allowed localism to rule.

00:05:24.000 He allowed Ron DeSantis to be Ron DeSantis.

00:05:26.000 He allowed Andrew Cuomo, for better or worse, to be Andrew Cuomo.

00:05:29.000 The bottom line is we live in a federalist country.

00:05:31.000 We live in a country where rule is supposed to be chiefly done at the local level and not at the very top level.

00:05:35.000 And Trump had, I think, wisely and actually bravely Now folks on the left saw that as a flaw because they love top-down control.

00:05:45.000 Top-down control is their favorite thing in terms of what government can do.

00:05:48.000 And this was the greatest excuse for top-down control in the history of the nation.

00:05:51.000 So at the same time they were calling Trump a vicious fascist, they were also calling for Trump to take control of virtually every production facility that he could get his hands on via the National Defense Act.

00:06:01.000 The National Defense Authorization Act.

00:06:03.000 So, you know, all of that Trump refused to do.

00:06:07.000 And I said that was a good thing.

00:06:08.000 So I started getting calls from members of the media saying, why didn't you talk about Trump's record on COVID more in that particular video?

00:06:14.000 Why weren't you talking so much about Trump's record on COVID?

00:06:17.000 And I said, because I don't think that any single politician anywhere on planet Earth has a good handle on COVID.

00:06:22.000 I don't think that that the leader of New Zealand has a great handle on COVID.

00:06:25.000 I think that she lives on an island with more sheep than people. 0.75

00:06:28.000 I do not think that the leaders of Western Europe have a good handle on this thing, because literally not one of those nations has not experienced a spike.

00:06:36.000 And we are now watching a spike in places that heretofore had not seen one.

00:06:38.000 Places like Germany. 0.56

00:06:40.000 We're seeing a second spike in places like Italy.

00:06:42.000 Italy had done heavy lockdowns.

00:06:43.000 And by the way, in early October, mandatory masking outside.

00:06:47.000 And they are still seeing a massive spike.

00:06:49.000 It turns out that when it comes to a novel coronavirus, there is not a fantastic way to handle a novel coronavirus that is heavily seeded.

00:06:56.000 If you can get a hold of it before it's heavily seeded, that's one thing.

00:06:58.000 But the fact is, this thing was widely seeded in the United States as of February, as studies are now showing it may have been in the United States as early as early January.

00:07:06.000 And it started to race across the country incredibly fast.

00:07:09.000 And it didn't just start to race across America, it started to race across every Western European and Northern European country.

00:07:15.000 And the numbers across Europe right now are much worse than the numbers in the United States in terms of the number of daily infections.

00:07:22.000 You can see the spike.

00:07:23.000 The spike is enormous in Europe right now.

00:07:24.000 Is that Trump's fault?

00:07:26.000 The answer, of course, is no.

00:07:27.000 And what I kept pointing out is that Democrats had no different policy.

00:07:30.000 The only policy the Democrats have brought to bear is lockdown policy.

00:07:33.000 Lockdown policy is not sustainable.

00:07:35.000 At a certain point, you have to let up the lockdown so that people can live their lives.

00:07:38.000 And when that happens, there will be spread.

00:07:40.000 And the only thing that you can do is mitigation.

00:07:43.000 The only thing that you can do is try to protect the vulnerable and protect the elderly, which means social distancing and mask wearing. 0.91

00:07:49.000 And that's pretty much it.

00:07:50.000 And if you are elderly, and if you feel you have an underlying condition, you need to stay home as much as humanly possible.

00:07:54.000 That's all you can do.

00:07:55.000 There are no solutions here.

00:07:58.000 There are some therapeutics that are better than they were a few months ago.

00:08:00.000 We know how to treat this thing better in hospitals, a lot better in hospitals than we did back in March.

00:08:04.000 The death rates on COVID are down about 80% in hospitals, and they have been for several months here, which is why you're seeing this massive spike in cases, but not this massive spike in deaths.

00:08:12.000 In the United States, you have this big spike in cases.

00:08:14.000 The number of daily deaths remains around 1,000 a day, which is horrible and which is tragic.

00:08:18.000 But I'm not sure that it's supremely avoidable, given the fact that we do not have a vaccine for this thing, nor do we have a therapeutic that radically reduces the mortality rate of the disease thus far.

00:08:27.000 But that's not just true in the United States.

00:08:28.000 That's true in Europe as well.

00:08:30.000 In other words, what Democrats and the media have been trying to do is create a point of differentiation with regard to Trump's performance that does not exist.

00:08:38.000 There is no Democratic plan to stop COVID.

00:08:40.000 There is not.

00:08:41.000 There is no Democratic plan that makes COVID less deadly.

00:08:45.000 There isn't.

00:08:46.000 There is no democratic plan to prevent the spread of COVID utterly.

00:08:51.000 And if you think that full lockdown is going to stop the spread of COVID utterly, then what is your plan for shutting down the entire American economy for another year?

00:08:59.000 For another year?

00:09:01.000 Particularly since COVID is not threatening to people who are under the age of 20.

00:09:04.000 It is less threatening than the flu for people who are under the age of 20.

00:09:07.000 And for people who are under the age of 50, it is marginally more threatening than the flu.

00:09:11.000 When I say it's marginally more threatening, I mean it might be twice as deadly as the flu, but the flu is not particularly deadly for people who are under the age of 50.

00:09:18.000 So one of the things people need to understand is base rates.

00:09:21.000 Okay, if one out of a thousand people die of the flu and two out of a thousand people die of COVID, the base rate is still really low, right?

00:09:28.000 That's still one in 500 people dying of COVID, but it is now twice as deadly as the flu.

00:09:33.000 So it all depends on how you tend to think about these issues.

00:09:36.000 If you say, I'm willing to undergo my life, I'm willing to, I'm 36, right?

00:09:39.000 I'm not in the under 20 crew, which means the COVID is more deadly for me than the flu.

00:09:43.000 Am I willing to hide in my house for the next year?

00:09:46.000 Am I willing to never go out again?

00:09:49.000 Am I willing to not go shopping?

00:09:50.000 Am I not willing to go to a ball game?

00:09:51.000 Am I not willing to go to a theater?

00:09:52.000 Am I not willing to go to a restaurant?

00:09:53.000 Am I not willing to do any of those things for a year?

00:09:56.000 On the chance that this thing has a 2 in 1000 shot of killing me as opposed to a 1 in 1000 shot of the flu killing me if I get it in the first place.

00:10:03.000 And the answer, I think, for most people is no, which is why when Trump said at the debate that 99.9% of young people who get this live, I think that's the first that a lot of people are hearing of that.

00:10:13.000 The media have steadfastly refused to talk about the actual Infection fatality rates on this disease because they recognize that if they do, then people might not be up for the kind of societal shutdowns that Democrats are apparently calling for.

00:10:25.000 OK, but here's the bottom line.

00:10:27.000 There is no solution being presented by the Democrats.

00:10:29.000 But in order for Trump to lose, they have to pretend like the solution is right here.

00:10:32.000 It's right there.

00:10:33.000 And Trump refuses to pick that apple off the tree for some odd reason.

00:10:36.000 Trump's a meanie. 1.00

00:10:37.000 Trump's a bastard. 1.00

00:10:38.000 And Trump wants you to die. 1.00

00:10:39.000 That is the final pitch for Democrats. 0.99

00:10:41.000 This has actually been their pitch throughout COVID. 0.99

00:10:43.000 Trump is not only incompetent, and his incompetence has not only ruined lives, he's malevolent. 1.00

00:10:48.000 Republicans are malevolent. 1.00

00:10:49.000 And if Democrats are elected, they will have a plan.

00:10:52.000 You hear this from Biden and Harris all the time.

00:10:53.000 We have a plan.

00:10:54.000 They don't have a plan.

00:10:55.000 They don't.

00:10:56.000 The plan they have presented thus far is exactly the Trump plan.

00:10:59.000 What if we developed a vaccine?

00:11:00.000 Right, Trump's doing that.

00:11:02.000 What if we ensured that PPE was delivered to hospitals?

00:11:04.000 Personal protective equipment.

00:11:06.000 Trump's done that.

00:11:07.000 Well, you know, what if we urge social distancing and mask wearing?

00:11:10.000 Okay, well, every state in the union is doing that.

00:11:13.000 And regardless of what Trump says, all of his public health officials are saying that as well.

00:11:17.000 Including the much maligned Dr. Scott Atlas, who came on the program last week and did exactly that.

00:11:23.000 It's not that Democrats have a different plan than Republicans.

00:11:25.000 It's that whoever was president of the United States because the president is seen in America for some bizarre, stupid reason as a godlike figure capable of righting all wrongs, whoever's president is going to reap the whirlwind of a very bad thing happening.

00:11:38.000 And Democrats are simply going to lie to you that the president wants those bad things to happen in the first place. 0.73

00:11:42.000 OK, all this came to a head over the course of the weekend because the White House chief of staff went on national television and he was talking about the pandemic.

00:11:49.000 And he said that we are not going to control the pandemic.

00:11:52.000 We're going to focus on mitigation.

00:11:53.000 And this apparently is a world shattering statement that we're not going to control the pandemic.

00:11:57.000 We are going to focus on mitigation.

00:11:59.000 OK, let me make this absolutely 100% clear.

00:12:02.000 Nobody is going to control the pandemic.

00:12:04.000 The only way to control the pandemic is to have a very, very low level of seating in your society, as happened in East Asia, and then to have massive testing regimens at that time, massive masking, and mandatory quarantine.

00:12:16.000 Those are the only ways that you are going to get that under control, and that would be if you had a 0% seating, right?

00:12:21.000 If the seating were unbelievably low.

00:12:23.000 Right now, in the United States, we are experiencing As of yesterday, 60, 70,000 new cases a day.

00:12:31.000 A day.

00:12:32.000 OK, there is no way to get that.

00:12:33.000 And community spread, massive community spread across the country.

00:12:37.000 There is no way for us to, quote unquote, stop the spread.

00:12:41.000 That is not going to happen.

00:12:43.000 Hey, the only way that the spread is going to stop is when it burns itself through when a lot of people have had it because other or a vaccine is developed.

00:12:50.000 That's it.

00:12:50.000 There is no third way.

00:12:52.000 You can slow the spread by social distancing and wearing masks.

00:12:55.000 You can prevent that spread unintentionally to people who are elderly by shielding and protecting the elderly. 0.90

00:12:59.000 But nobody, not Democrats, not Republicans, nobody is stopping the spread.

00:13:05.000 And if you don't believe me, ask Europe, where the thing is spreading like wildfire.

00:13:08.000 Anyway, here is Mark Meadows saying something perfectly obvious, and then the media using this as an excuse to say, well, if it were us, we'd stop the spread, really?

00:13:15.000 Explain.

00:13:16.000 Seriously, explain.

00:13:16.000 I want to hear.

00:13:17.000 How are you going to stop the spread?

00:13:18.000 How are you going to do it?

00:13:20.000 Italy had a mandatory mask mandate outdoors as of early October.

00:13:23.000 Italy's getting walloped right now.

00:13:24.000 Tell me how you're going to do it.

00:13:26.000 Tell me, epidemiologists at CNN, how you're going to do it.

00:13:29.000 Anyway, here is Mark Meadows saying a bad, bad thing when he mentioned the absolute baseline fact in a country of 330 million people with tens of thousands of cases of a virus spreading a day.

00:13:38.000 And this thing is three times as spreadable as the flu.

00:13:41.000 You're not simply going to be able to stop the spread.

00:13:43.000 That is perfectly 100% obvious.

00:13:46.000 Anyway, here's Mark Meadows saying a perfectly obvious thing, and then we'll see the media using that as an excuse to suggest that Trump wants people to die.

00:13:54.000 Here's what we have to do.

00:13:56.000 We're not going to control the pandemic.

00:13:58.000 We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics, and other mitigation.

00:14:03.000 Why are we going to get control of the pandemic?

00:14:06.000 Because it is a contagious virus, just like the flu.

00:14:09.000 Yeah, but why not make efforts to contain it?

00:14:11.000 Well, we are making efforts to contain it.

00:14:13.000 By running all over the country and not wearing a mask?

00:14:15.000 That's what the vice president's doing.

00:14:16.000 We can get into the back and forth.

00:14:18.000 Let me just say this, is what we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it's therapies or vaccines or treatments, to make sure that people don't die from this.

00:14:30.000 OK, Meadows happens to be exactly right about this.

00:14:32.000 And Jake, who I like, but Jake is absolutely wrong about this.

00:14:35.000 This idea that you're going to, quote unquote, contain the virus.

00:14:39.000 Yeah, good luck with that.

00:14:40.000 OK, I'm just going to read you some stats from Italy in one second.

00:14:42.000 And let's just say Italy's been locked down.

00:14:44.000 It ain't working.

00:14:46.000 We'll get to that in just one second.

00:14:47.000 First, it is Halloween this month.

00:15:47.000 Policy genius.

00:15:48.000 When it comes to insurance, it's nice and very, very important to get it right.

00:15:51.000 Okay, so Mark Meadows says something absolutely 100% obvious, which is that we are not going to get this under control.

00:15:57.000 This is a very, very large country with high levels of community spread.

00:16:01.000 And Tapper is like, well, why can't we get it under control?

00:16:03.000 I don't know.

00:16:04.000 Why can't Italy get it under control?

00:16:06.000 Italy had, as of October 25th, 21,273 diagnosed cases of COVID in Italy.

00:16:12.000 Okay, the population of Italy, not close to the population of the United States.

00:16:17.000 The population of Italy is 60 million.

00:16:19.000 The population of the United States is 330 million.

00:16:22.000 Okay, so on a per capita basis, they have a higher rate of transmission than the United States.

00:16:27.000 Italy is locked down.

00:16:29.000 Italy was not open.

00:16:30.000 Italy had full-on mask... Again, I keep repeating this because people apparently do not want to understand this.

00:16:37.000 The fact is, once this thing was widely seeded, it was going to spread.

00:16:41.000 End of story.

00:16:42.000 And the only thing you can do, and really where you should be putting your focus, is where you can save lives.

00:16:47.000 Of course, of course.

00:16:48.000 But this is the lie, and the lie is going to be promulgated by the media.

00:16:52.000 That this is surrender.

00:16:53.000 So Brian Stelter, a reliable source, he says that's the sound of surrender.

00:16:57.000 That if you say that you're not going to control the virus, that you're going to have to learn to live with it, they're going to shield the elderly, And that, guess what?

00:17:05.000 Reality is that nobody's been able to control it.

00:17:08.000 Then apparently, you're giving up.

00:17:10.000 That's called giving up. 0.99

00:17:12.000 I'm sorry, this is anti-scientific garbage. 0.98

00:17:14.000 It is anti-evidentiary, anti-scientific nonsense. 0.99

00:17:16.000 And it is deliberately blind. 0.59

00:17:18.000 It's deliberately blind.

00:17:18.000 It's funny, when I was talking to those media members about Trump's COVID handling versus Democrats' COVID handling, I would say to them, so what would Democrats have done differently?

00:17:25.000 They would have talked about masks more.

00:17:26.000 I say, okay, well, there's virtually no masking in Northern Europe.

00:17:29.000 There's a lot of masking in Southern Europe.

00:17:31.000 Both have been walloped.

00:17:32.000 So, You're going to have to explain to me how talking about masking more really would have changed the trajectory of this thing, especially given the fact that Democrats were openly saying for months that if you were protesting George Floyd's death, it was totally fine to go out there and mack on people in the middle of a protest of a million.

00:17:48.000 I didn't see much blowback when there were huge rallies for the L.A.

00:17:52.000 Lakers winning the NBA championship directly outside of Staples Center with no masking.

00:17:56.000 Where was the massive blowback?

00:17:58.000 Weird.

00:17:58.000 It was gone.

00:17:59.000 In other words, the chances that you were going to stop the spread through universal masking because the Democrats were telling you to?

00:18:06.000 Absolutely not.

00:18:08.000 That's not true.

00:18:10.000 Also, I mean, again, none of this is anti-mask.

00:18:13.000 I've been saying throughout this show, and for months, that if you're in close quarters with people, you should be wearing a mask.

00:18:17.000 And of course, there's a difference between the kind of masks you wear.

00:18:20.000 Cloth masks are not nearly as useful as surgical masks, which are not nearly as useful as N95s or KN95s.

00:18:24.000 But, The notion that this thing was eminently containable except for Trump is a lie, and members of the media... It's an article of religious faith now, because if you ask them the question, they literally cannot tell you what Democrats would do differently.

00:18:38.000 They can't, because there's nothing Democrats would do differently.

00:18:40.000 But that is the article of faith, and every Democrat at CNN is going to repeat it.

00:18:43.000 Here's Brian Stelter repeating it.

00:18:46.000 That is the sound of capitulation by the federal government.

00:18:49.000 That is the sound of surrender.

00:18:52.000 Trump, meanwhile, sounds bored with this leadership challenge.

00:18:55.000 Clearly, he doesn't want the top story to be about sick and dying Americans struggling with a virus that's out of control in part due to his government's failures.

00:19:04.000 Obviously, he wants us talking about Hunter Biden or fake news or how mean 60 Minutes is to him.

00:19:11.000 And his base agrees, but he is out of touch with where the rest of the country is.

00:19:15.000 OK, you are putting the rest of the country in a position to believe wrongly that Trump is in a position to snap his fingers and make this thing stop.

00:19:21.000 That is not correct.

00:19:23.000 And if, by the way, the Democrats in the media, if Biden is elected, immediately snap their fingers and then all of a sudden we're stopping.

00:19:29.000 We're not going to talk about COVID anymore. 1.00

00:19:30.000 It just shows what damned liars they were. 0.99

00:19:32.000 COVID is still going to be out there. 1.00

00:19:32.000 Because guess what? 1.00

00:19:33.000 It is.

00:19:34.000 By the way, Germany, right?

00:19:35.000 Germany was a model of how to stop the spread. 0.92

00:19:38.000 Germany had, as of October 23rd, almost 14,000 diagnosed cases in Germany.

00:19:43.000 So this thing is spreading everywhere.

00:19:45.000 But again, this is the left-wing nonsense. 0.75

00:19:47.000 Michael Moore said that Donald Trump is killing off his own voters. 0.60

00:19:51.000 Any other president would have seized the coronavirus, taken the reins, and tried to have been the hero.

00:19:59.000 Especially when this was killing His largest demographic in 2016 was over 65.

00:20:06.000 This could get to 2,500 deaths a day.

00:20:10.000 Why Trump would be killing off his voters, historians and political scientists are going to have to figure this out in the future.

00:20:18.000 Trump is not killing off his voters.

00:20:19.000 Chris Cuomo's brother, Andrew Cuomo, killed off the elderly voters in New York.

00:20:24.000 Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan refusing to protect the nursing homes.

00:20:28.000 Again, it is a pretty morally disgusting narrative that Trump is responsible for all of these deaths.

00:20:34.000 The good news is that people at Lincoln Project have no problem pushing morally disgusting narratives.

00:20:37.000 So they actually put up Times Square billboards.

00:20:40.000 Billboards in Times Square about the evils of Ivanka and Jared.

00:20:45.000 Not even about Trump himself, right?

00:20:46.000 But Ivanka and Jared.

00:20:48.000 So they have these giant billboards.

00:20:50.000 One is a picture of Ivanka Trump smiling, and then it says 33,418 plus New Yorkers, 224,000 plus Americans.

00:20:59.000 And she's smiling like she's happy about it.

00:21:02.000 Because that's Ivanka, right? 1.00

00:21:03.000 Ivanka's so evil that she wants Americans to die. 1.00

00:21:06.000 That's what she wants. 1.00

00:21:07.000 Ivanka desperately wants Americans to die. 0.99

00:21:09.000 Now, weird, because what I noticed is that the governor of New York is a Democrat, the mayor of New York City is a Democrat, the entire city council in New York is Democratic, That's what I noticed. 0.54

00:21:16.000 But apparently it's Ivanka Trump's fault.

00:21:18.000 And not only is it her fault, she revels in it.

00:21:21.000 That was next to a giant smiling picture of Jared Kushner saying New Yorkers are going to suffer and that's their problem.

00:21:27.000 Okay, that was Vanity Fair reporting, unconfirmed, denied by Kushner.

00:21:32.000 The Lincoln Project runs with it because the... I mean, have greater grifters been created than the folks at the Lincoln Project?

00:21:32.000 Doesn't matter.

00:21:38.000 The definition of a grifter, by the way, is somebody who knows that what they're saying is false but continues to say it for the money.

00:21:43.000 They know what they're saying is false.

00:21:44.000 They continue to say it for the money to try and con people into giving them cash.

00:21:48.000 Okay, so all of this is now being forwarded.

00:21:50.000 This giant narrative that we are seconds away from a Democrat taking office and getting control of this thing.

00:21:56.000 Iron fist, take control! 0.96

00:21:58.000 We'll get to that in just one second.

00:22:00.000 First, let us talk about the fact that sometimes you need your employees to really do their best.

00:22:05.000 Let's say that you left LA weeks and weeks and weeks ago.

00:22:08.000 And let's say that you had somebody who's in charge of your security in LA.

00:22:11.000 And they were like, you know what?

00:22:12.000 I'm coming to where you're going to make sure that you are safe and secure.

00:22:16.000 And three weeks later you're sitting there and you're like, where is Chad?

00:22:19.000 And then all of a sudden, Chad shows up.

00:22:21.000 He's all smiley.

00:22:22.000 He's all happy.

00:22:23.000 You're like, dude, where were you for three weeks?

00:22:24.000 Like, well, you know, I had to, I had to truck my stuff across the country and I stayed at some motels.

00:22:29.000 Well, then you might think about replacing Chad and you'd head on over to ZipRecruiter.com.

00:23:19.000 Okay, so the narrative that is now being pushed by Democrats and by the media, again, is that as soon as Joe Biden takes place, everything will be all better.

00:23:26.000 So Joe Biden was interviewed on 60 Minutes, and Joe Biden was asked about Scott Atlas.

00:23:30.000 And he basically said Scott Atlas, who is one of the doctors from Stanford Hoover Institution, who is telling Trump, you know, sort of his strategy, that Atlas is not qualified for any of this.

00:23:41.000 Nobody agrees with Scott Atlas.

00:23:43.000 Now, there's a word that I've been using, ultracrepidarianism. 1.00

00:23:46.000 That is the ability to speak outside one's purview.

00:23:52.000 The idea here from Joe Biden is that Scott Atlas is not an epidemiologist, so he shouldn't be speaking about this stuff.

00:23:57.000 There's only one problem with that, which is that Joe Biden is also not an epidemiologist.

00:24:00.000 So you have to choose which doctor you wish to listen to.

00:24:03.000 And it turns out that there are major epidemiologists who have suggested exactly the same thing as Dr. Scott Atlas.

00:24:09.000 They are the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration, which has been actively downgraded by Google and by YouTube and by Facebook.

00:24:15.000 The Great Barrington Declaration advocates for a policy I've been advocating for months, which is protect the elderly.

00:24:20.000 Make sure that the elderly and the infirm are protected.

00:24:23.000 Tell them to stay home.

00:24:24.000 Get all of them M95 masks. 0.89

00:24:26.000 Make sure they have what they need.

00:24:28.000 And then if you're 20 years old, then you getting the virus should not only not be treated as the end of the world, it should be treated as probably a good thing in the long run for herd immunity, because herd immunity will be developed one way or another.

00:24:40.000 One of the great lies the media tell about this sort of stuff is that if you quote-unquote advocate for herd immunity, you are advocating for uncontrolled spread.

00:24:46.000 That is not what herd immunity means.

00:24:47.000 Herd immunity is a product.

00:24:49.000 Herd immunity is something that happens.

00:24:51.000 Herd immunity happens when a certain percentage of a population gets a disease or a vaccine and then are not capable of passing it along so the reproduction rate drops below one.

00:24:59.000 That's what herd immunity is.

00:25:01.000 It's gonna happen whether you like it or not.

00:25:03.000 It's gonna happen with a vaccine, or it's gonna happen not with a vaccine.

00:25:05.000 The only question is how you pursue herd immunity.

00:25:07.000 And so what the great Barrington Declaration guys say, and this includes Martin Kulldorff and Jay Bhattacharya, who's been on the program.

00:25:15.000 One of them is from Stanford.

00:25:17.000 Bhattacharya's from Stanford.

00:25:18.000 Kulldorff is a biostatistician from Harvard who studies epidemiology.

00:25:22.000 They have said, and they've joined with Sunetra Gupta, who's a professor of epidemiology at Oxford, right?

00:25:28.000 These are all well-qualified people.

00:25:30.000 They've all said that if you wish to pursue herd immunity at the fastest possible clip, then what you need to do is allow 18 and 20 year olds to get this thing.

00:25:38.000 And then you need to have them not come into contact with older people, and then they can't pass it along to older people. 0.76

00:25:45.000 Which is something that I've been talking about since literally, I believe, April, when I started talking about so-called control the avalanche strategy, which was a strategy that had been pushed by a couple of scientists over at Hebrew University.

00:25:45.000 Right?

00:25:55.000 That's an actual strategy.

00:25:56.000 But Democrats don't have a strategy. 0.99

00:25:58.000 The Democratic strategy is to suggest that if you even mention herd immunity, you are bad.

00:26:03.000 That the only solution to this thing is endless lockdowns.

00:26:06.000 So here is Joe Biden ripping on Scott Atlas and suggesting by proxy that he is going to push for endless lockdowns.

00:26:13.000 Dr. Scott Atlas.

00:26:14.000 He is advocating young people go about their business and older people sequester. 0.99

00:26:20.000 Nobody thinks he makes any sense.

00:26:23.000 Nobody.

00:26:24.000 No serious doc around the world.

00:26:26.000 So Joe Biden says that nobody listens to Scott Atlas.

00:26:29.000 Nobody is saying that it makes any sense to to allow younger people to get it while protecting the older elderly. 0.90

00:26:34.000 It's going to happen whether Joe Biden likes it or not.

00:26:34.000 OK, guess what?

00:26:36.000 It's going to happen whether Joe Biden likes it or not.

00:26:38.000 I was driving around yesterday.

00:26:39.000 And one thing that I noticed, right, I'm in South Florida.

00:26:41.000 And one thing that I noticed, I was driving around with my kids and we drove past a gym.

00:26:46.000 OK, and the gym.

00:26:48.000 It was packed with younger people.

00:26:50.000 It was all younger people. 0.98

00:26:52.000 None of them were wearing masks.

00:26:53.000 Is that a good idea?

00:26:55.000 If any of those people are going to come into contact with older people or vulnerable people, it's not a good idea.

00:27:00.000 But are they going to do it anyway?

00:27:01.000 Absolutely.

00:27:02.000 Hey, you think all the massive house parties that are taking place in Chicago or Miami or L.A., you think those are stopping right now?

00:27:09.000 There's a reason why the death rates are down.

00:27:10.000 There are a couple reasons.

00:27:11.000 One, hospitalizations are going much better.

00:27:13.000 But two, young people are not nearly as apt to be hospitalized for COVID as people who are elderly.

00:27:18.000 And also, young people are not going to sacrifice entire years of their lives and not do anything for a year because Joe Biden tells them to.

00:27:26.000 It's not going to happen.

00:27:27.000 It's not happening in Europe.

00:27:28.000 It's not happening in the United States.

00:27:29.000 It's not happening anywhere.

00:27:31.000 So either you can set up a series of restrictions that are doable, And you can try to set up some sort of strategy for reaching herd immunity, like the Great Barrington folks suggest, or you can pretend that everybody is going to mask up at 100% rates.

00:27:45.000 They're all going to know how to handle their masks.

00:27:46.000 They're all going to have high-quality masks.

00:27:47.000 They're not just going to be wearing cloth masks that don't really do a whole hell of a lot to protect you from the transmission of the disease.

00:27:54.000 They're only, apparently, according to Scott Gottlieb, okay?

00:27:55.000 It's not me.

00:27:56.000 This is former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb.

00:27:58.000 Cloth masks are only about 10% effective at preventing you from getting this thing.

00:28:02.000 Do you think people know that?

00:28:03.000 Do you think people are paying attention to it?

00:28:04.000 Huge majority of the people I see out there are wearing cloth face masks or neck gaiters.

00:28:07.000 And N95s are 90 to 95% effective in preventing you from getting this thing.

00:28:11.000 This is according not to me, to Scott Gottlieb.

00:28:14.000 Do you think people know that?

00:28:15.000 Do you think people are paying attention to it?

00:28:16.000 Huge majority of the people I see out there are wearing cloth face masks or neck gaiters.

00:28:20.000 There's some studies suggesting neck gaiters are counterproductive.

00:28:24.000 Okay, but again, there's this myth.

00:28:25.000 The myth is Trump blew it.

00:28:27.000 Democrats will get this under control.

00:28:29.000 So you end up with Anthony Fauci suggesting over the weekend he's becoming more and more openly political.

00:28:33.000 He's speaking out openly, obviously.

00:28:36.000 He's in the media.

00:28:37.000 He's speaking out to CNN.

00:28:39.000 And he said, well, maybe it's time for a federal mask mandate.

00:28:41.000 Yes, I'm sure, Anthony.

00:28:42.000 That'll make all the difference.

00:28:43.000 I'm sure, Dr. Fauci, that now After in March, you said nobody needed a mask.

00:28:46.000 I'm sure that now that you say everybody needs a mask, not only do they need a mask, we're gonna punish them, presumably, at the federal level.

00:28:52.000 We're gonna make it a federal crime not to wear a mask.

00:28:54.000 Where?

00:28:54.000 In a public place?

00:28:55.000 In private with your family?

00:28:57.000 I'm sure this will be highly, highly effective.

00:28:59.000 That'll finally get things under control.

00:29:01.000 They have mask mandates across Europe.

00:29:02.000 I'm sure that's gonna get it under control, Dr. Fauci.

00:29:04.000 Sure.

00:29:06.000 If everyone agrees that this is something that's important and they mandate it and everybody pulls together and say, you know, we're going to mandate it, but let's just do it.

00:29:16.000 I think that would be a great idea to have everybody do it uniformly.

00:29:21.000 One of the issues though, you, I get the argument, say, well, if you mandate a mask, then you're going to have to enforce it.

00:29:26.000 And that'll create more of a problem.

00:29:28.000 Well, if people are not wearing masks, then maybe we should be mandating it.

00:29:33.000 Oh, there we go.

00:29:33.000 So finally, we reached the end point here.

00:29:35.000 Maybe we should have the federal government fine or jail people if they refuse to wear their masks in particular scenarios.

00:29:41.000 Where are you going to tell them to wear the mask?

00:29:41.000 And here's the question.

00:29:43.000 Seriously, on a scientific level, we're now realizing that in certain countries, 80% of all transmission is being done in the home.

00:29:49.000 You're going to mandate that people wear masks in the home?

00:29:51.000 Well, good news.

00:29:52.000 Democrats are here for you.

00:29:53.000 Gavin Newsom now says that you should wear a mask at home.

00:29:57.000 According to Newsweek, ahead of Thanksgiving, California Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health released new safety guidelines for all private gatherings amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

00:30:06.000 The new rules come with strict restrictions that aim to help reduce the risk of spreading infection.

00:30:10.000 Gatherings are defined as social situations that bring together people from different households at the same time in a single space or place.

00:30:16.000 When people from different households mix, this increases the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

00:30:21.000 I have a question.

00:30:29.000 Why for two hours or less?

00:30:31.000 We've been told you can transmit this thing in 15 minutes.

00:30:33.000 So why not 15 minutes or less?

00:30:35.000 Seriously, what is the scientific evidence that two hours or less is going to be the great barrier here?

00:30:40.000 And also, I understand you want it outdoors because it has better ventilation, but They are now suggesting that if it's like me and my parents, I guess that that is two households in the state of California.

00:30:50.000 So it's me, my parents and my sister.

00:30:52.000 And that is three households in the state of California.

00:30:55.000 I'm sure this is going to be... And what's going to happen?

00:30:58.000 The cops are going to come knock on your door and arrest you or fine you if you get together with family members on Thanksgiving.

00:31:03.000 Yeah, I'm sure this is going to be wildly effective.

00:31:06.000 You know what?

00:31:07.000 You're right.

00:31:07.000 We need to elect Joe Biden so that we can have the federal officers come to your house, if you are in a house, with you and your parents and your sister's family.

00:31:16.000 We need the feds at your door. 0.98

00:31:19.000 If this sounds like a dystopian sci-fi novel, it's because we've basically reached that point, according to what is now being requested.

00:31:25.000 All in order to prevent the transmission of a disease that is not extraordinarily deadly for people under the age of 70, but is extraordinarily deadly for people who are above the age of 70.

00:31:34.000 Okay, which means that last I checked, we are all rational and sentient human beings.

00:31:38.000 By the way, when I say extraordinary deadly, I'm comparing it to like extraordinarily deadly diseases like Ebola or the bubonic plague because the flu is not extraordinarily deadly.

00:31:45.000 I'm not comparing it to the flu.

00:31:48.000 Before social media say, I'm not comparing it to the flu.

00:31:51.000 I've been very precise in my language here.

00:31:53.000 This is about three times as deadly as the flu for people who are between the ages of approximately 40 and 70.

00:31:59.000 It's about twice as deadly as the flu for people between the ages of 20 and 40.

00:32:03.000 And the reality is not that many people die of the flu every year on a population adjusted basis.

00:32:09.000 So is it deadly?

00:32:10.000 Yes.

00:32:11.000 Is it highly, highly, highly deadly in the mold of like mirrors?

00:32:15.000 No, it is not.

00:32:16.000 Okay, but we are now going to have, what, federal officers banging on your door if you get together with some people over Thanksgiving?

00:32:22.000 And California is going to do this.

00:32:23.000 The new rules state those at a gathering may remove their face coverings briefly to eat or drink as long as they stay six feet away from everyone outside their own household and put their face covering back on as soon as they are done with the activity.

00:32:34.000 The latest guidelines add face coverings can also be removed to meet urgent medical needs.

00:32:38.000 The existing face coverings also set out by the CDPH also apply.

00:32:42.000 They state everyone must wear face coverings in high-risk situations, including in outdoor public spaces, when maintaining a six feet distance from those outside your household is not feasible.

00:32:51.000 Also, no singing, no chanting, no shouting.

00:32:55.000 And you should participate in quiet activity.

00:32:58.000 Musicians are allowed at gatherings, but they must be from one of the three households. 0.98

00:33:01.000 Also, no playing of wind instruments.

00:33:04.000 So yeah, this is all gonna go great.

00:33:05.000 I'm sure everybody is going to abide by this in California.

00:33:08.000 I'm sure that every single person is going to abide by this in California.

00:33:11.000 By the way, the state with the most confirmed COVID cases in the United States, California, with 855,000 confirmed COVID cases, despite massive lockdown restrictions.

00:33:21.000 And all of this COVID talk is predicated on the notion that if you just flip a switch, it goes away, and that switch is Trump. 0.95

00:33:27.000 That is a pagan, silly notion. 0.93

00:33:28.000 It is not true. 0.97

00:33:30.000 It is simply not the case.

00:33:33.000 In a second, we're going to get to Joe Biden and the Biden campaign, because he continues to surge in the polls, even though he, again, has not done nearly any media.

00:33:41.000 He's called another lid today, I believe.

00:33:43.000 We'll get to that in just one second.

00:33:44.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you hear these ugly stories all the time.

00:33:49.000 A good guy uses a gun to protect his family from criminals, and then he gets arrested.

00:33:52.000 Well, sometimes the legal system isn't fair and responsibly armed Americans could become political targets, which is why you really need to know what you can do legally and what you can't do legally.

00:34:00.000 And also, you better have some legal defense at your disposal if, God forbid, you have to fire your gun in order to protect yourself.

00:34:06.000 Here's how you can take a simple, powerful journey to firearms and self-defense confidence.

00:34:10.000 It's called the Complete Concealed Carry and Family Defense Guide from the United States Concealed Carry Association.

00:34:14.000 That's the USCCA.

00:34:15.000 It is 100% free.

00:34:17.000 You'll learn how to detect attackers before they see you, how to survive a mass shooting, the safest and most dangerous places to sit in a restaurant, how to responsibly own and store a gun even if you got little kids, and a whole lot more.

00:34:27.000 It is 164 pages.

00:34:29.000 It comes with a bonus audio version so you can listen whenever you want.

00:34:32.000 Just text Ben to 87222.

00:34:34.000 Again, text Ben to 87222.

00:34:35.000 You'll get instant access and a chance to win a thousand bucks so you can buy a gun to protect your family.

00:34:40.000 Text Ben to 87222 right now. Text Ben to 87222 to get instant access to that family defense guide, concealed carry, and family defense guide from the USCCA.

00:34:49.000 Good folks. Go check them out right now.

00:34:51.000 Okay, we're gonna get to more on the presidential race in just one second. First, 2020 has been an insane year and if it feels like things are coming apart, it's because they really are.

00:34:59.000 We have massive philosophical differences that are now coming to a head in the United States.

00:35:03.000 Joe Biden's been trying to gloss over them with his magical ads that are basically just stock footage of a farm, then stock footage of a baseball game, and then him being like, America.

00:35:12.000 Okay, but here's the reality.

00:35:14.000 The Democratic Party and many in the Democratic Party now represent a viewpoint that is at odds with the philosophic foundings of the United States.

00:35:20.000 They do not believe in the negative rights guaranteed by the Declaration and the Constitution of the United States.

00:35:24.000 They believe that American history is a roll call of evil.

00:35:28.000 They believe that American culture, a culture of entrepreneurialism and tolerance for others' rights, is wrong-headed because it allows for the success of the evil.

00:35:36.000 I write about all of this in my book, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps, which isn't just a takedown of a leftist view of America that America's bad.

00:35:42.000 It is also a reminder of what makes America so very good, why the Declaration's ideals are correct, why the Constitution is properly structured, why it is that the culture of the United States forwards tolerance and entrepreneurialism, and why American history is a story of good punctuated by great periods of evil, but of America striving to fulfill her founding principles.

00:36:02.000 Go pick up a copy right now, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.

00:36:05.000 It is going to be a primer for if, God forbid, Joe Biden wins the election, it is going to be a primer for how to fight back.

00:36:11.000 Go check it out right now, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps.

00:36:13.000 Also, in case you missed it yesterday, we had on another great episode of the Sunday special.

00:36:17.000 This time it was Jared Kushner, apparently he's responsible for all COVID deaths in New York, according to the Lincoln Project.

00:36:22.000 He's senior advisor to President Trump.

00:36:23.000 Jared joined the show to share his experience with the president and to remind the American people of the administration's accomplishments that will continue for four more years if Donald Trump is reelected.

00:36:32.000 It was a great conversation.

00:36:33.000 I hope you enjoyed it.

00:37:46.000 Quick final note on Democrats COVID talk here.

00:37:48.000 So over the weekend, five people in Mike Pence's office tested positive for COVID-19.

00:37:53.000 And the basic idea from the media is that Mike Pence should take himself off the campaign trail, which is weird because you know who actually didn't do that was Kamala Harris.

00:38:01.000 So if you're on the other side, apparently, Nobody cares if you do it, right?

00:38:04.000 Members of Kamala Harris' team got sick with COVID, and there was no repercussion.

00:38:08.000 Nobody suggested, hey, wait a second, this thing seems like it's really, really transmissible.

00:38:12.000 And even though people in the Biden-Harris team are wearing masks, it still seems like a lot of people are getting this sort of thing.

00:38:17.000 Instead of being realistic about COVID, in other words, we have decided in our minds Listen, it's understandable.

00:38:23.000 It's an understandable human reaction to tragedy.

00:38:26.000 When bad things happen, our first reaction as human beings is to try to spot the differentiating feature so that that tragedy will never happen to us.

00:38:34.000 That's why when you hear that somebody died at a young age, the first thing you say is, what did they die of?

00:38:38.000 And if they say that they died of cancer, the first thing you say is, well, did they smoke?

00:38:41.000 Did they have heart disease?

00:38:43.000 Did it run in their family?

00:38:44.000 In other words, you try to look for the reason why it's not going to hit you, why you are going to be immune to the virus.

00:38:50.000 When you watch a zombie apocalypse movie, the first thing you think is, oh, I'd be the guy who survives.

00:38:54.000 Probably not.

00:38:56.000 OK, now the reality is that when it comes to COVID, we're doing the same thing.

00:38:59.000 We're saying to ourselves, OK, well, if I wear the mask, then I'm definitely not going to get this thing.

00:39:04.000 OK, here's the reality.

00:39:06.000 You'll lessen your chances.

00:39:07.000 You may very well get the thing.

00:39:09.000 Okay, if you stay away from other people, you lessen your chances of getting COVID.

00:39:13.000 You may very well get the thing.

00:39:15.000 Nothing is foolproof here.

00:39:16.000 You can take cautious action, and I've ripped into Trump when I think he has not taken cautious action.

00:39:20.000 I've been very much against these rallies.

00:39:22.000 I've been very much against these open-air events where people are not masked. 1.00

00:39:25.000 I think they're a stupid idea. 0.96

00:39:27.000 But that does not mean that the Democrats have any broad scale solution to this entire thing. 1.00

00:39:33.000 But here's the thing.

00:39:33.000 The COVID narrative allows everybody to escape having to talk to Joe Biden about issues regarding Joe Biden.

00:39:39.000 You realize that Kamala Harris has not done a single press conference.

00:39:42.000 Kamala Harris will be president of the United States if Joe Biden is elected.

00:39:44.000 Joe Biden is on his last legs.

00:39:46.000 It is perfectly obvious to anyone who watches him for any period of time that Joe Biden is on his last legs.

00:39:51.000 Kamala Harris has not done a press conference, not one, since she was nominated for the VP.

00:39:58.000 Not one.

00:39:59.000 If this were flip side, don't you think that perhaps the media might be asking questions about it?

00:40:03.000 But here they are so willing to go along with whatever allows Joe Biden to be elected.

00:40:07.000 The media are the real story of this election.

00:40:09.000 At least they will be after the election.

00:40:11.000 If Biden wins, the story here is not going to be that Biden ran a wonderful campaign.

00:40:15.000 The story here is going to be twofold.

00:40:16.000 That Trump blew it for himself because he couldn't shut his yap.

00:40:20.000 And that the media are the worst things in American life.

00:40:23.000 That the media are the overt partisan wing, communications wing of the Democratic Party.

00:40:31.000 Because apparently they're just not going to cover stories now.

00:40:34.000 In fact, it's bad to cover stories now.

00:40:37.000 It's amazing.

00:40:38.000 Very few members of the media will ask anything about Hunter Biden or Joe Biden.

00:40:41.000 So where do we stand on the Hunter Biden, Joe Biden stuff?

00:40:43.000 Okay, so what we know from the emails and from the texts is that Hunter and James, James is Joe's brother, were pursuing a business deal in China with a group called CEFC China.

00:40:53.000 CEFC China initially said it was going to send 10 million bucks in early 2017 to a joint venture, including Hunter and James.

00:41:01.000 They focused on trading oil futures and securing the rights to overseas oil fields in strife-torn places like Chad, South Sudan, and Iraq.

00:41:08.000 One early version of their business plan indicated that Hunter and James Biden and their American associates have forged alliances with the highest levels of government, banking, and enterprise.

00:41:15.000 It's perfectly obvious to everybody, by the way, that the reason that Hunter and James were being included is because of their proximity to Joe, because Hunter and James have no qualifications otherwise.

00:41:25.000 Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that Joe was in on the arrangement, or that he was making money from the arrangement, or that he was involved in the deal prior to when he left the vice presidency.

00:41:35.000 Hey, he says he didn't know anything and he's never received any money.

00:41:37.000 The deal itself ended up canceled.

00:41:39.000 But there's no question that Joe looked the other way as members of his family trafficked in his name for years on end, which is indeed, it may not be criminal, but it is certainly corrupt.

00:41:46.000 If you're a member of the government and members of your family are jetsetting around the earth, telling foreign leaders and telling foreign corrupt oligarchs that they have access to you and that you have purview over their foreign policy, I mean, that's pretty corrupt stuff.

00:42:01.000 In fact, even the New York Times is reporting now That the joint venture here was at least partially predicated on Joe Biden and Joe Biden's proximity to power.

00:42:13.000 According to the New York Times, the documents show that the countries Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their associates plan to target for deals overlapped with nations where Joe Biden had previously been involved as vice president.

00:42:22.000 One 42-page plan includes a section specifically highlighting former Vice President Biden's role in facilitating increased commerce with Colombia, which is one of the targets of the joint venture, along with Luxembourg, Oman, and Romania.

00:42:34.000 Again, Hunter Biden's role in that China deal was key in the relationship set up, messaging the goodwill around the chairman, referring to Yi Jianming, the chairman of CEFC.

00:42:43.000 We still don't have any answer from Joe Biden as to whether one text message that suggested that, or one email that suggested that 10% was being held in escrow for the big guy, who the hell the big guy was.

00:42:52.000 Okay, these are all open questions.

00:42:54.000 They should be asked of Joe Biden, obviously, mainly because Biden has portrayed himself as clean as the driven snow. 0.85

00:42:59.000 He has said that Hunter has never done anything corrupt, which of course is very, very silly.

00:43:03.000 Now, if you're on Fox News, then presumably you'll get a reporter or two who will ask the question.

00:43:06.000 Chris Wallace asked Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan, doesn't Biden owe a fuller account of his son's business dealings while he was VP?

00:43:13.000 Whitmer, of course, has no answer.

00:43:14.000 There is evidence.

00:43:17.000 It may be that Biden didn't take money, but clearly his brother, his son, were involved in business dealings.

00:43:23.000 There was talk about the Biden name.

00:43:27.000 One, wasn't that inappropriate for that to be going on while he was vice president?

00:43:31.000 It sure sounds like influence peddling.

00:43:33.000 And doesn't he owe a fuller accounting?

00:43:37.000 You know, Chris, I think that Joe has sat for questions.

00:43:40.000 He has answered these questions.

00:43:42.000 The American people aren't going to be distracted.

00:43:45.000 Oh, they're not going to be distracted.

00:43:46.000 So he doesn't have to answer any of the questions.

00:43:47.000 Weird.

00:43:47.000 OK, so Tom Cotton was on with Andrew Ross Sorkin on CNBC, and Ross Sorkin was asking him about why he should report the story.

00:43:57.000 He's saying we can't corroborate any of the emails.

00:44:00.000 And Cotton's like, okay, hold up a second.

00:44:01.000 So now your standard for reporting is that you have to be able to corroborate the underlying evidence?

00:44:05.000 Didn't you guys run for like years with the Russia crap and you didn't corroborate a single fact about it?

00:44:10.000 You're talking about the tech companies censoring such quote-unquote news.

00:44:15.000 If in fact the tech companies had quote-unquote liability like news operations do, you wouldn't want them to be reporting something that they couldn't corroborate, no?

00:44:29.000 Do you mean like the Russian collusion hoax and the Steele dossier that you reported on for four years, Andrew?

00:44:35.000 OK, yeah, that would be the end of that particular conversation.

00:44:38.000 But again, the new standard for the media is if we can't corroborate it, we're not reporting it, which is not their standard.

00:44:42.000 It's not even close to their standard, because guess what's not corroborated?

00:44:44.000 You know what you can't corroborate?

00:44:46.000 Unnamed sources.

00:44:47.000 No way to corroborate them.

00:44:48.000 In fact, we know the sourcing on the Hunter Biden emails way better from the New York Post than nearly anything that's been reported in the mainstream media about Russia or collusion or Ukraine for years on end.

00:44:57.000 Nonetheless, the standard for the media, it's new.

00:44:59.000 It's a new standard.

00:45:00.000 The media are overt partisans on behalf of Joe Biden.

00:45:03.000 It is insane.

00:45:04.000 NBC News reporter Ben Collins, he actually tweeted out.

00:45:08.000 Reminder for your uncle.

00:45:09.000 The press can't cover Hunter's hard drive because we don't have access to it.

00:45:12.000 This isn't a WikiLeaks thing.

00:45:13.000 One guy has access to it.

00:45:14.000 He wouldn't give it to us.

00:45:15.000 Now he's in quasi-hiding because he got caught in a hotel room with Borat's daughter, right?

00:45:19.000 Talking about Rudy Giuliani not turning over the hard drive to NBC, for example.

00:45:23.000 But weird, because I don't remember you having any access to any of the underlying material in nearly any of the stories you've reported about Russiagate for literally years on end.

00:45:31.000 So the standard is magically morphing.

00:45:33.000 It is magically changing.

00:45:35.000 My favorite line of the weekend actually came courtesy.

00:45:38.000 of Thomas Ridd, a professor of strategic studies at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

00:45:43.000 He had a piece in the Washington Post.

00:45:44.000 This is a direct quote.

00:45:45.000 You ready?

00:45:46.000 We must treat the Hunter Biden leaks as if they were a foreign intelligence operation, even if they probably aren't.

00:45:53.000 Even if they probably aren't.

00:45:55.000 So now we have to just ignore them and not report on them, even if they're legit, because we have to work under the assumption that anything said bad about Democrats must be Russian disinformation. 0.78

00:46:05.000 All of which allows Joe Biden to simply treat reporters like garbage when he is asked about it. 0.55

00:46:08.000 Here was Joe Biden over the weekend being asked about Hunter Biden and just cutting him dead.

00:46:12.000 Questions of controversy continue to tell you about Hunter Biden, your son's... There is no controversy about my son.

00:46:18.000 It's all a lie.

00:46:19.000 It's a flat lie because the president has nothing else to run on.

00:46:23.000 If you notice, while American people are talking about what's happening to their families, he has no plan.

00:46:29.000 In the debate, he has no plan.

00:46:30.000 Everything from the Wall Street Journal, every other major news outlet has said what he's saying is simply not true about my son.

00:46:38.000 But it's classic Trump.

00:46:41.000 Classic Trump.

00:46:42.000 OK, except for the fact that actually the emails are real and the texts are real and people are asking legit questions about them.

00:46:48.000 But the good news is he can just shout COVID in masks and everybody goes, oh, well, he knows the solution, guys.

00:46:53.000 Everything will be better tomorrow if that evil, malevolent, forced Donald Trump is out of office.

00:46:57.000 Again, all of this also allows Joe Biden to escape from the fact that he is not with it.

00:47:01.000 Okay, now he can get, this is not to say he can't get through a sentence.

00:47:04.000 He can get through a sentence.

00:47:06.000 He can get through several sentences.

00:47:07.000 He can't get through like a full paragraph without starting to lose it.

00:47:10.000 Okay, over the weekend, over and over and over, Joe Biden was just gaffing all over the place.

00:47:15.000 Now, one of these gaffes would have killed any other candidate.

00:47:19.000 Seriously, any other candidate, Mitt Romney.

00:47:21.000 You remember, what about your gaffes?

00:47:23.000 People yelling at Mitt Romney as though Mitt Romney were half as senile as Joe Biden appears to be on the verge of being.

00:47:29.000 Yeah, I'm old enough to remember when people took gaffes seriously so long as they were coming from Republicans.

00:47:34.000 I mean, we still remember all of George W. Bush's gaffes, right?

00:47:36.000 Edumacation.

00:47:38.000 Remember that one?

00:47:39.000 We still remember Dan Quayle misspelling potato, right?

00:47:39.000 Edumacation.

00:47:42.000 These were major gaffes.

00:47:43.000 Joe Biden mixes up which office he is running for.

00:47:47.000 He mixes up which state he is in.

00:47:49.000 He mixes up the candidate he is running against.

00:47:52.000 Over the weekend, he suggested he was running against George.

00:47:55.000 I assume he means Bush, not George of the Jungle.

00:47:58.000 Bush has been out of office since 2008.

00:47:58.000 But guess what?

00:48:00.000 Here is Biden mistaking Trump for Bush.

00:48:03.000 This is the most consequent, not because I'm running, but because who I'm running against.

00:48:07.000 This is the most consequential election in a long, long, long time.

00:48:12.000 And the character of the country, in my view, is literally on the ballot.

00:48:16.000 What kind of country are we going to be?

00:48:18.000 Four more years of George.

00:48:21.000 He's going to find ourselves in a position where if Trump gets elected, we're going to be in a different world.

00:48:29.000 That wasn't the only one.

00:48:31.000 Then Joe Biden bragged about having the most expensive voter fraud organization in history.

00:48:35.000 Again, these are these are gaffes that would any other candidate, these would all be headlines.

00:48:38.000 But it's protect the precious time now, right?

00:48:41.000 We're in the final days of the election.

00:48:42.000 Protect the precious, even if that precious is a doddering coot who is not going to be in office for four years, let alone eight. 1.00

00:48:48.000 Here is Joe Biden.

00:48:50.000 We're in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for the President Obama's administration before this, we have put together I think the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud That's exciting.

00:49:13.000 He's put together the most extensive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.

00:49:17.000 You want to get those conspiracy theorists going, that would be the way that you do it.

00:49:21.000 And again, the good news is that for Democrats, nobody is going to ever have to answer a tough question because they're Democrats.

00:49:27.000 So Kamala Harris was on 60 Minutes.

00:49:30.000 And she broke out that joker laugh. 1.00

00:49:31.000 I mean, the crazy joker laugh.

00:49:33.000 A lot.

00:49:33.000 So Kamala Harris has this really bad tell.

00:49:36.000 If you're ever asked to play poker with Kamala Harris, do it.

00:49:39.000 Because if you ask her if she's got a pair of jacks, she will just be like... 1.00

00:49:45.000 I mean, it's wild.

00:49:47.000 It's like she is going to it's like she has set up two separate crime scenes and then she has to direct Batman, which one to go to.

00:49:53.000 It's it's crazy.

00:49:54.000 So here is here is Kamala Harris. 0.76

00:49:56.000 She was asked about her perspective and she's asked whether she's a socialist or progressive.

00:50:00.000 And apparently this is just damned hilarious.

00:50:02.000 I mean, absolutely hilarious.

00:50:04.000 She breaks into a laugh. 0.65

00:50:05.000 I mean, this is a laugh right here.

00:50:07.000 I promised Joe that I will give him that perspective and always be honest with him.

00:50:12.000 And is that a socialist or progressive perspective?

00:50:20.000 No, it is the perspective of a woman who grew up a black child in America, who was also a prosecutor, who also has a mother who arrived here at the age of 19 from India, who also, you know, likes hip-hop.

00:50:38.000 What do you want to know?

00:50:40.000 Man, hilarious, hilarious.

00:50:41.000 By the way, she was then asked a follow-up question.

00:50:42.000 So you're the most liberal member of the United States Senate.

00:50:46.000 And she lost it again.

00:50:48.000 I mean, this bleep is frickin' hilarious, right?

00:50:50.000 I mean, it's like she's watching a Chris Farley movie over here.

00:50:53.000 I mean, she's asked whether she is a liberal, and it's a very easy question, right?

00:50:58.000 They ask, you're the most liberal member of the United States Senate, and she's like, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! 1.00

00:51:05.000 Oh, that's just Mike Pence, he says that, ha ha!

00:51:08.000 And the reporter's like, well, no, actually, that's GovTrack, and she's like, ha ha ha ha!

00:51:15.000 Well, the good news is that Democrats can always count on their friends.

00:51:19.000 All they need is a little help from their friends.

00:51:22.000 Speaking of which, okay, so social media over the past several weeks has become very open and obvious in their desire For Donald Trump to lose the election. 0.98

00:51:32.000 Corporations, social media, and this is all virtue signaling garbage.

00:51:35.000 So what corporations have decided is they have decided that a huge number of Americans are buying products based on political preference. 0.69

00:51:41.000 They've decided that it is better to go along with the woke than it is to simply stay silent because the woke demand, they demand answers right now.

00:51:49.000 There is no luxury to stay silent.

00:51:51.000 As we found out about Chris Pratt, the actor last week, if you stay silent, silence.

00:51:57.000 And so you're mandated to say something.

00:51:59.000 And people want this with corporations too.

00:52:01.000 This is how you end up with the CEO of Expensify, which is a service that helps you basically do your expense reports.

00:52:08.000 He sent an email to 10 million customers on Thursday demanding that they vote against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden.

00:52:16.000 He sent out this giant email, which of course received plaudits from the media.

00:52:19.000 Now imagine if the head of Walmart sent out an email to all of the Walmart employees and said, I need all of you to vote for Donald Trump because otherwise Joe Biden is going to wreck our business and you're going to end up either fired or with a lower wage.

00:52:32.000 Right.

00:52:32.000 Our business will go down and there'll be consequences that the media would lose it, lose it.

00:52:36.000 In fact, the media did lose it when companies started sounding off about how Obamacare was going to damage their business, which it would.

00:52:42.000 It was how dare they?

00:52:43.000 They hate Obama.

00:52:44.000 That's what this is about.

00:52:44.000 But everybody cheers like seals because the Expensify CEO put out this nasty email about how you need to vote for Joe Biden.

00:52:51.000 Quote, I know you don't want to hear this from me. 0.95

00:52:53.000 Yeah, you got that damned right.

00:52:55.000 And I guarantee I don't want to say it, but we are facing an unprecedented attack on the foundations of democracy itself. 0.94

00:53:00.000 citizen, anything less than a vote for Biden is a vote against democracy.

00:53:00.000 If you are a U.S.

00:53:04.000 Weird, because you know what I heard about Joe Biden is that he wishes to pack the Supreme Court, that he wishes to kill the filibuster, and he wishes to stack the Senate with his friends.

00:53:10.000 So, um, that seems like not super Democratic or super Republican, small R Republican.

00:53:17.000 David Barrett says, that's right.

00:53:19.000 I'm saying a vote for Trump, a vote for a third party candidate, or simply not voting at all.

00:53:23.000 They're all the same.

00:53:24.000 They're all the same.

00:53:25.000 So if you choose not to vote for either, or if you choose not to vote because you find that they both stink, they're both the same.

00:53:29.000 You are now an enemy of democracy.

00:53:31.000 You are like the Germans who sat by and watched Hitler take power. 0.96

00:53:35.000 They're all the same and they all mean, quote, I care more about my favorite issue than democracy.

00:53:38.000 I believe Trump winning is more important than democracy.

00:53:40.000 I'm comfortable standing aside and allowing democracy to be methodically dismantled in plain sight.

00:53:45.000 If the polls are accurate, there's a roughly 50% chance you agree Trump needs to go.

00:53:49.000 Show up on November 3rd and vote for Biden.

00:53:49.000 You know what to do.

00:53:53.000 And I love these.

00:53:54.000 He then puts out this little Q&A.

00:53:55.000 OK, here's here's some of the Q&A.

00:53:57.000 You ready?

00:53:58.000 Why do you care so much about democracy?

00:54:01.000 I mean, this is like when somebody asks you in a job interview, what's your worst quality?

00:54:04.000 You say, I'm too diligent.

00:54:06.000 Why do you care so much about democracy?

00:54:07.000 David asked David.

00:54:09.000 I care so much about democracy because I'm just that kind of guy.

00:54:12.000 Democracy is core to our business success in a variety of ways.

00:54:15.000 Internally, we are a famously flat organization.

00:54:17.000 Nobody reports to anybody else.

00:54:19.000 An advancement is the result of meeting well-defined criteria as judged by the vote of those who have already advanced.

00:54:25.000 We are a democratic company.

00:54:26.000 Really?

00:54:27.000 Okay, so what if they vote you out?

00:54:28.000 You gonna be happy with that?

00:54:28.000 How's that gonna go for you, David?

00:54:29.000 Are you the head of the company?

00:54:31.000 He says, what gives you the right to tell me what to do?

00:54:32.000 The First Amendment.

00:54:33.000 To be clear, you don't need to listen.

00:54:35.000 But the First Amendment exists to encourage people like you and me to find some way to talk about the issues that matter.

00:54:41.000 The burden of democracy is that this is literally our job.

00:54:44.000 So I'm asking all of us to take it seriously.

00:54:47.000 And he says, Expensified depends on a functioning society and economy.

00:54:51.000 As CEO of this business, it's my job to plot a course through any storm.

00:54:55.000 And four more years of Trump will lead, will damage our democracy to such an extent, I'm obligated on behalf of shareholders to take any action I can to avoid it.

00:55:03.000 He says he's not sure democracy can survive a Trump presidency.

00:55:07.000 Don't you think you're exaggerating?

00:55:10.000 No, I truly wish I was.

00:55:12.000 I wouldn't be sending this email if the election were just about normal issues, but it isn't.

00:55:16.000 This election is a referendum on what limits, if any, we place on our elected officials to govern us in a fair and representative way.

00:55:21.000 And then you talk about voter suppression.

00:55:23.000 We're gonna have more votes in this election than any election in American history, bar none. 1.00

00:55:27.000 The early turnout is insanely high, and this idiot's talking about voter suppression still. 0.99

00:55:31.000 Okay, like, all of this. 1.00

00:55:33.000 Corporate America has decided to mobilize on behalf of the woke.

00:55:36.000 And then, social media has decided to mobilize on behalf of Democrats, and the media have pushed this along.

00:55:43.000 And let's make no mistake, there is this feedback loop.

00:55:45.000 It exists in the media, whereby members of the media, so-called journalists, act as activists.

00:55:49.000 People like Kevin Roos at the New York Times, people like Kara Swisher at the New York Times, people like Juggla-gum-ba-da-gum-da-gum. 0.85

00:55:56.000 They all put out these reports about how social media, by being so tolerant toward right-wing views, has allowed Trump to win.

00:56:02.000 What we need is Streitbeerdemokratie, which is this policy in Germany that bans neo-Nazi parties.

00:56:09.000 We need something like that, but for the right.

00:56:10.000 We need to make sure that social media never allows right-wing views to be promulgated.

00:56:16.000 And then, when people on the right sound off about it, then we say, well, conservatives keep complaining about social media.

00:56:21.000 Look how they're working the refs. 1.00

00:56:23.000 Okay, guys.

00:56:24.000 You've been working the refs for years.

00:56:25.000 You've been threatening legislation against social media.

00:56:27.000 I've been the one saying I'm against legislation with regard to social media.

00:56:32.000 And you guys have been pressing for legislation.

00:56:34.000 And you've been pushing them, not subtly at all, to shut down the methods of distribution for outlets that are not mainstream quote-unquote outlets.

00:56:41.000 If it's not the New York Times, CBS, or ABC, you want it done.

00:56:44.000 You're angry about it.

00:56:46.000 When we sound off, when we say, hey, look at this.

00:56:48.000 It looks like they are shadow banning us.

00:56:49.000 It looks like they just banned the Twitter accounts of the New York Post for a week and a half.

00:56:54.000 It looks as though you are suppressing our ability to distribute.

00:56:57.000 By the way, we can tell.

00:56:58.000 You think we can't tell our own traffic?

00:56:59.000 We can tell when social media is downgrading us.

00:57:01.000 It's happening this week, in real time, in the run-up to the election.

00:57:05.000 But if we complain about it, then we are told, oh, how dare they complain about social media?

00:57:08.000 So CNN has a piece today.

00:57:10.000 It says, a right-wing offensive is underway to discredit social media companies just days before the election.

00:57:15.000 What began as complaints about anti-conservative censorship by social media companies has now evolved into outright allegations of election interference.

00:57:23.000 Well, I mean, yes, because you literally said that you would not report any of the Hunter Biden allegations pending a fact check.

00:57:30.000 You still have not ruled anything false in The New York Post stories.

00:57:33.000 And Twitter has still banned The New York Post.

00:57:34.000 Yes, that is election interference.

00:57:36.000 It is overt.

00:57:37.000 It is not covert.

00:57:38.000 It is not subtle.

00:57:40.000 But according to CNN, Outside experts have found little evidence to support claims of widespread systematic political bias in Silicon Valley's technology, but the conservative allegations are an explosive charge and a dramatic escalation ahead of election day.

00:57:52.000 Okay, so this is hilarious.

00:57:53.000 So now they're taking the perspective that Silicon Valley is not biased against conservatives.

00:57:58.000 Okay, but you're simultaneously arguing in places like CNN and the New York Times that Silicon Valley is biased in favor of conservatives.

00:58:04.000 I can't tell you the number of pieces that have been written over the course of the last six months about how Daily Wire is bad and evil because we are highly trafficked on Facebook.

00:58:12.000 What you will see is people putting out these charts suggesting that our engagement at Daily Wire is really, really high on Facebook.

00:58:17.000 Right, because we write good headlines.

00:58:19.000 That's why.

00:58:19.000 But apparently it's because social media is biased in favor of Daily Wire.

00:58:24.000 Mm-hmm.

00:58:25.000 I'm sure that's what's happening.

00:58:26.000 I'm sure that's exactly what's happening.

00:58:27.000 There's only one problem.

00:58:28.000 It is a lie.

00:58:29.000 Okay, so I want to go through this for a second because it's actually important.

00:58:32.000 By using this lie, by promulgating this lie, the media have created this feedback loop.

00:58:36.000 Here's how the loop goes.

00:58:37.000 The New York Times claims social media is biased against conservatives.

00:58:41.000 Then social media, in obeisance to the New York Times, says, OK, we're going to downgrade social conservatives.

00:58:47.000 Then conservatives say, you're downgrading us.

00:58:48.000 Then the media say, look at these paranoid conservatives saying that they're being downgraded.

00:58:52.000 How dare they?

00:58:54.000 How dare they?

00:58:56.000 And then they say, look at these right wing sites.

00:58:58.000 You know, you can tell they're bad.

00:58:59.000 You can super tell they're bad because they keep repeating each other's messages.

00:59:02.000 It's this whole loop. 0.98

00:59:03.000 It's this whole circular logic bullcrap. 0.93

00:59:05.000 So, let's break it down for just a second.

00:59:07.000 There are these charts that go around, generally from places like Newswhip, showing the kind of engagement that various sites get.

00:59:14.000 So, the top 10 web publishers on Facebook For the last month, for example, it showed Daily Wire at the top.

00:59:20.000 I think this was for August.

00:59:21.000 It showed that we had 1,000 articles and that we had 78 million Facebook engagements.

00:59:26.000 So our per-article engagement was really high.

00:59:28.000 The reason it was really high is because our people write fantastic headlines and because there is not a lot of great conservative content out there.

00:59:34.000 The number of conservative sites, as we'll see, is actually pretty low.

00:59:37.000 You'll see that Breitbart is number six on this list, Fox News is number two, and Daily Mail is number three.

00:59:42.000 Well, you'll notice That many of the other sites on this list are left-wing.

00:59:45.000 CNN, NBC News, New York Times, NPR, The Hill.

00:59:48.000 Okay, so why is it that conservatives are getting that sort of engagement?

00:59:55.000 The reason is because there are fewer right-wing publishers than there are left-wing publishers.

00:59:59.000 In the top 25 publishers on Facebook, 16 are of the left, 9 are of the right.

01:00:05.000 Well, if there are 50% of people who want conservative content and 50% of people who want left-wing content, then those aren't going to split evenly.

01:00:13.000 Right, if you have more left-wing outlets than right-wing outlets, what you are likely to see is that the left-wing outlets each get less engagement than the right-wing outlets, but overall get more engagement, which, of course, is precisely what you see.

01:00:24.000 Of the total engagements, 784 million engagements, total engagements in the top 25, left-wing outlets received 409 million engagements, right-wing outlets received 376 million engagements.

01:00:35.000 So actually, the left got more engagement than the right did on Facebook.

01:00:40.000 As far as total likes, which is a better measure, total likes for the top 25 news outlets, 68.4% were for the left.

01:00:48.000 They have nearly two-thirds of the total likes.

01:00:50.000 So while the New York Times is about how outlets like mine are getting engagement on Facebook, many of these outlets have more total likes than anything remotely like what we've got.

01:01:00.000 It just happens to be that we write good headlines and there's an undersupply of conservative content, which means that we are over-trafficked, proportionally speaking.

01:01:07.000 But this is how all of this works.

01:01:09.000 All of this is an attempt by the left to suppress narratives they do not like, and they will use any cudgel at their disposal, and they do control the controlling heights of the culture.

01:01:18.000 This is why you end up with pieces at the New York Times today, right?

01:01:21.000 Again, this is that not-so-subtle pressure tactic.

01:01:23.000 Quote, conservative news sites fuel voter fraud misinformation.

01:01:27.000 Breitbart, the Washington Examiner, and others amplify false claims of rampant cheating in what a new Harvard study calls a propaganda feedback loop.

01:01:34.000 They keep going back to this Harvard, this sort of Harvard institution that is constantly writing about how evil right-wing sites are. 0.98

01:01:46.000 The Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, these are the same people who suggested that right-wing YouTube directs people over to the alt-right, which is crap. 0.88

01:01:52.000 It's not true. 0.53

01:01:53.000 Okay, many of us have overtly taken on the alt-right and gotten the slings and arrows for it.

01:01:58.000 Doesn't matter.

01:01:59.000 Again, the idea here is that if conservative sites repeat information about possible voter fraud, they're bad.

01:02:03.000 But if left-wing sites talk about how Donald Trump is going to steal the election outright or remain in the White House forever, and they repeat that same talking point, that's not a feedback loop at all.

01:02:13.000 If you want to know, by the way, how these narratives get created, all you have to do is look at how the narratives get created around people like Sacha Baron Cohen.

01:02:21.000 So Baron Cohen, right, the Borat guy, He somehow turned himself into this sort of cultural icon with regard to politics, as though he knows what the hell he's talking about.

01:02:30.000 He does not.

01:02:31.000 So again, here is that subtle pressure, not so subtle pressure, coming from the social left.

01:02:36.000 Here is Sacha Baron Cohen, this is back in December, suggesting that Facebook is bad because Facebook allows material Sacha Baron Cohen doesn't like.

01:02:41.000 So it's just like if they allowed material from Hitler. 1.00

01:02:44.000 Of course, Facebook does have policies to crack down on neo-Nazi material, but that doesn't matter to Sacha Baron Cohen because he's a damned liar. 0.98

01:02:49.000 So here he was going after Facebook for having the temerity to allow right-wing content. 0.98

01:02:54.000 If you pay them, Facebook will run any political ad you want, even if it's a lie.

01:03:02.000 And they'll even help you micro-target those lies to their users for maximum effect.

01:03:08.000 Under this twisted logic, if Facebook were around in the 1930s, it would have allowed Hitler to post 30-second ads on his solution to the Jewish problem.

01:03:20.000 The broader point here is that Sacha Baron Cohen is treating everything on the right as though it is Hitlerian. 0.89

01:03:24.000 So not only is he historically ignorant, he also happens to be a censor himself. 0.94

01:03:29.000 He loves censorship. 0.94

01:03:30.000 Over the weekend, Sacha Baron Cohen got mad because it turns out he wrote a piece for, I believe it was Newsweek magazine, In which they put a picture up of a person wearing a mask that COVID-19 is a fraud.

01:03:41.000 And the algorithm at Facebook prevented the dissemination of the article because they said it was propaganda. 0.96

01:03:46.000 The article, of course, was about how that was dumb.

01:03:49.000 He said censorship is bad. 0.97

01:03:49.000 And he got mad. 0.97

01:03:50.000 Oh, I'm glad to learn that Sacha Baron Cohen thinks that censorship is bad now.

01:03:54.000 That's it.

01:03:54.000 That's very, very exciting stuff.

01:03:56.000 So censorship is bad so long as it is applied to Sacha Baron Cohen.

01:03:59.000 It's very good when it is applied to anyone else.

01:04:01.000 By the way, quick note, quick final note about Sacha Baron Cohen.

01:04:04.000 There's a piece in The Independent today talking about how Sacha Baron Cohen has avoided being canceled.

01:04:08.000 It is called, Okay, well, what exactly did he evolve to?

01:04:17.000 He evolved to the left.

01:04:18.000 That's all that happened.

01:04:18.000 He came out as an open leftist.

01:04:19.000 He started targeting commonplace, quote-unquote, vulgar right-wing Americans, and the media decided not to cancel him.

01:04:27.000 So, that's the wonderful thing about cancel culture.

01:04:29.000 You don't get canceled if you are a part of it.

01:04:33.000 Which is why, honestly, points to Sarah Silverman.

01:04:35.000 Never thought that would be a phrase I would say.

01:04:36.000 Over the weekend, Sarah Silverman, she suggested that cancel culture is righteousness porn. 0.90

01:04:40.000 She is 100% about this.

01:04:43.000 Without a path to redemption, when you take someone, you found a tweet they wrote seven years ago or a thing that they said, and you expose it and you say, this person should be no more, banish them forever.

01:04:58.000 They're going to find some place where they are accepted.

01:05:00.000 Do we want people to be changed?

01:05:03.000 Or do we want them to stay the same?

01:05:05.000 To freeze in a moment we found on the internet from 12 years ago?

01:05:10.000 And so we can point to ourselves as right and them as wrong.

01:05:14.000 Okay, the answer is... Righteousness porn.

01:05:16.000 She is right.

01:05:17.000 I can't believe this.

01:05:18.000 She's exactly right about all of this.

01:05:20.000 But it's not just that they're freezing it in place.

01:05:21.000 They're changing the standard every day so they can freeze you in place and so that you have to obey them.

01:05:25.000 And they're preventing the dissemination of material they don't like in order to elevate their favorite candidates.

01:05:31.000 And that's where we currently stand.

01:05:32.000 That's the battle.

01:05:32.000 And it's going to be a battle long beyond this election.

01:05:35.000 It's going to be a battle for this entire generation.

01:05:37.000 This is the battle to come.

01:05:39.000 Whether Trump gets reelected or whether Biden gets elected is irrelevant to this battle.

01:05:42.000 The media, our cultural betters, they have declared that you should not have access to information you like, that if you disagree with them, you are evil, and you should be suppressed.

01:05:54.000 And that all of the methodologies of technology, corporate America, social media should be used against you.

01:05:59.000 This is what they have decided.

01:06:00.000 And that is a battle that is much bigger than who gets to decide the next tax rates on the top bracket in the United States.

01:06:06.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today with two additional hours of content.

01:06:08.000 Otherwise, we will see you here tomorrow.
