Pro-Israel Rally in Washington D.C. and in the wake of the latest pro-Hamas rally in New York City and in support for Israel, Rabbi Eliezer Meisel talks about the contrast between the pro-Israel rally and the latest anti-Israel protest in the streets of New York and the recent attack on NYPD officers by pro- Hamas supporters in Staten Island, NY. Rabbi Meisel also talks about a recent incident involving a bus carrying Jewish members of the Jewish community that was vandalized and vandalized by a group of Hamas supporters, and how the Jewish people are resilient in the face of adversity and fear. Rabbi Eliyahu Meisel: We will not allow history to slide back to the days of the Holocaust, when Jews were targeted and murdered and butchered; instead, we will be resilient in facing adversity in America and in Israel! Chai Chai: I am not afraid. We are not afraid, we, the citizens of the West, are NOT afraid, and we should not be afraid. The silent majority may be largely silent, but it is, in fact, a majority. That much was clear yesterday on the Mall in Washington, DC, where hundreds of thousands of people came to the National Mall in support of Israel, and a majority of Americans are in favor of Israel and support Israel. That's a powerful message. - Rabbi Elayah Meisel Israel is stronger than you think, and stronger than any other country in the world, and you can believe in, and that you are not scared of, because you are brave enough to stand up and fight for your country and stand up for your truth and your honor and your dignity and your rights. Thank you, Israel is strong enough to fight for the truth and you are strong enough, you are enough, thank you, and believe in your worth and your chance to be heard, and so much more. Thank you for being brave, and thank you for standing up and standing up for what matters, and fighting for your dignity, and your worth, and for your courage and your strength, you deserve a chance to live in the light and dignity, not only in a world where you know that you will be heard and respect your truth, and dignity and respect and respect, and respect in the words you are worthy of a safe and your freedom, and all of that, and not only that you know you will have a chance of a better life. Shout out to all the people who care.
00:00:16.000Far more people in the West oppose Hamas than support it.
00:00:19.000Far more people are in favor of Israel wiping Hamas off the map than are in favor of Hamas retaining any level of power at all.
00:00:25.000The silent majority may be largely silent, but it is, in fact, A majority.
00:00:30.000That much was clear yesterday on the mall in Washington, D.C., where pro-Israel ralliers, mostly Jewish, came by the hundreds of thousands, 300,000 in all, the largest single gathering of Jews in modern history.
00:00:40.000They came from Florida and California and New York and New Jersey.
00:00:42.000They came from Cleveland and Chicago and Houston.
00:00:45.000And they came for one reason, to show that those who support Israel are more numerous than those who support Israel's enemies.
00:00:51.000The rallyers actually showed far more than that, actually.
00:00:54.000They showed that those who support Israel love the West, and by extension, they demonstrated that those who hate Israel generally hate the West.
00:01:01.000The contrast could not have been clearer.
00:01:03.000That pro-Israel rally was replete with American flags, like everywhere, with pride in the United States.
00:01:08.000The pro-Israel rally featured no hate chants, no calls for genocide, no blood-curdling baying on behalf of the targeting of innocent people.
00:01:15.000Instead, it featured prayer, solidarity, and love.
00:01:19.000As one police officer reportedly put it, quote, I received a career's worth of thank yous in one day.
00:01:23.000Meanwhile, here is footage of a pro-Hamas rally yesterday in Staten Island.
00:02:42.000These Israeli hostages were kidnapped in their homes by barbaric Hamas terrorists for simply being Jewish and living in Israel.
00:02:49.000As Prime Minister Netanyahu says so well, this is a fight between good and evil, between light and darkness, between civilization and barbarism.
00:03:03.000The calls for a ceasefire are outrageous.
00:03:08.000That was Mike Johnson, the current Speaker of the House, and here with the Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
00:03:16.000My friends, in conclusion, Hamas's goal was to scare us.
00:03:23.000Those perpetrating the poison of anti-Semitism and bigotry around the world are trying to scare us.
00:03:32.000But we will not allow history to slide back to the days of the Holocaust when Jews were targeted and murdered and butchered.
00:03:43.000Instead, the Jewish people will be resilient.
00:03:48.000And today, all of you are here showing we will not hide in the face of adversity in America and in Israel.
00:04:35.000Apparently, bus drivers refused to take Jews arriving from out of town from Dulles Airport to the rally itself, in a clear case of religious discrimination.
00:04:43.000This bus company is going to be sued out of existence.
00:04:45.000Here was the announcement aboard a chartered plane from Detroit.
00:04:48.000The way this works, by the way, is if you fly a chartered plane into an airport, you cannot deplane unless there is, on the tarmac, some sort of vehicle ready to take you off the plane and to your destination.
00:04:59.000The bus company that had been chartered for this ...refused to actually participate in bringing Jews to a pro-Israel rally.
00:05:06.000Here's what it sounded like on the plane.
00:05:08.000...by our Detroit Jewish community members to attend the March for Israel in Washington, D.C.
00:05:14.000And we were proud of the significant number who traveled to the event.
00:05:18.000The buses that were hired to take over 900 participants from Dulles International Airport to the site of the march failed to appear, delaying the arrival of many, or most, in our group.
00:05:30.000We have learned that this was caused by a deliberate and malicious walk-off of drivers.
00:05:36.000Fortunately, many were able to travel to the march, and we are grateful for the drivers of those buses that arrived.
00:05:44.000While we are deeply dismayed by the disgraceful action, our resolve to proudly stand in solidarity with the people of Israel, to condemn anti-Semitism, and to demand the return of every hostage held by Hamas has never been greater.
00:05:59.000This has been confirmed by the bus company of their drivers and what has happened.
00:06:06.000All of this is pretty depressing, of course.
00:06:08.000It's even more depressing to see such sentiments in the halls of power, emanating almost entirely from the far left.
00:06:13.000Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who's just a terrible person, spent yesterday ripping Israel, an unsurprising development from the morally blind adult who is definitely not.
00:07:19.000Justin Trudeau is a disgusting human being trying to suggest that Israel is somehow not exercising maximum restraint, as we'll see in just a moment.
00:07:27.000Meanwhile, Representative Jamal Bowman of New York took a break from pulling fire alarms to claim that his opposition to Israel was actually an attempt to uphold Judaism.
00:07:38.000I love that he is flanked with a bunch of ridiculous-looking human beings with shirts like, Rabbis for Ceasefire, and it's an overweight female.
00:07:47.000who is definitely, definitely not a rabbi in any real sense.
00:07:51.000I do love these folks are trotting out fringe elements as though they are representatives of
00:08:31.000Meanwhile, Bowman's fellow Hamas squad colleagues took a different tack.
00:08:34.000Ilhan Omar claimed that all people of faith should oppose Israel.
00:08:37.000Not bigamy, you know, or not marrying a brother apparently, but apparently opposing Israel.
00:08:44.000something fascinating and bizarre in the fact that there are people who seem to be upset that there are rabbis and other people of faith out here asking for ceasefire.
00:09:07.000And it's bizarre because you would assume That if you are a religious leader, if you are a faith leader, that your number one priority would be to look into your faith, into the teachings of your faith, and to say, I oppose violence.
00:09:33.000I oppose violence from Ilhan Omar, who has yet to meet a terror group she doesn't provide support.
00:09:46.000And then there was the inimitably idiotic AOC.
00:09:49.000Fellow traveler with the Hamas squad who suggested that Israel needs to not engage in military action against Hamas.
00:09:54.000Instead, they have to find a way to, wait for it, negotiate with the terrorists who have openly stated that they wish to murder every Jew on planet Earth.
00:10:40.000These are, in fact, fringe sentiments.
00:10:42.000According to a new poll from Harris X, 67% of Americans believe Israel should continue fighting Hamas until Hamas is defeated and Israel's hostages are released.
00:10:50.000More than 8 in 10 Americans agreed that Israel has a responsibility to protect its citizens.
00:10:54.000This is the true America, not the pictures you see on CNN or the minority portrayed as a majority by our pathetic media infrastructure.
00:11:02.000We'll get to the media in just one second, because boy, are they pathetic.
00:11:05.000First, I want to talk to you about Daily Wire's most trusted privacy partner and premier sponsor of this show, ExpressVPN.
00:11:11.000What if there was someone out there who kept a log of every single thing you did, every minute of the day?
00:11:15.000Now, what if I told you that it's exactly what the ISPs do every time you go online?
00:11:19.000Your ISP is allowed to store logs of every website you've ever visited, and they can legally sell that data to anyone, which is why I always use ExpressVPN.
00:11:26.000ExpressVPN reroutes your internet connection through their secure servers, so your internet provider can't see or log what you do online.
00:11:32.000Now, many of you might be wondering, well, if I'm routing all my data through a VPN, doesn't that just mean the VPN can see what I'm doing and log my data instead?
00:11:37.000Excellent question, but ExpressVPN was the first major VPN provider to engineer all of their VPN servers to run in RAM, which makes it literally impossible for their VPN servers to store any data, including logs, of any ExpressVPN customer.
00:11:50.000ExpressVPN is so confident in their no-logs claim, they even had one of the biggest assurance firms audit their technology.
00:11:55.000So stop letting people keep logs of what you do online.
00:12:05.000Visit expressvpn.com slash ben to learn more.
00:12:08.000Also, gotta tell you, I'm taking a lot more time out than usual to pray in my life.
00:12:13.000It's maybe one of the only things keeping me sane.
00:12:15.000And I think that's true for an enormous number of people.

00:13:15.000Okay, so speaking of the media, They spent most of yesterday ignoring that giant rally, like the biggest rally of Jews in modern history, maybe since Sinai.
00:13:23.000And instead they decided to focus in on astroturfing resistance to Israel finishing off Hamas.
00:13:28.000So for example, the front page of the website of the New York Times last night carried zero mention, again, of the largest Jewish rally in centuries.
00:13:35.000But they did have a front page article about 500 anonymous members of the executive branch writing a letter to Joe Biden protesting his Israel policy.
00:13:43.000Clearly that pro-Hamas groundswell is buildings, says the New York Times.
00:13:47.000The media continue to do their damnedest to undermine Israel's ability to defend itself.
00:13:52.000Because again, Israel is an extension of the West, the media don't like the West, therefore Israel must be undermined.
00:13:56.000So despite the fact that every major media outlet of the last 20 years has reported that Hamas has placed military headquarters beneath Al Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, the press continue to treat Israel as a political leper for pursuing that military target.
00:14:10.000No matter that the Pentagon spokesperson literally confirmed yesterday that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad use hospitals as fronts for military sites.
00:14:19.000We do have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad uses some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including the Al Shifa Hospital.
00:14:31.000As a way to conceal and support their military operations and hold hostages.
00:14:36.000They have tunnels underneath these hospitals.
00:14:38.000And so Hamas and PIJ members operate a command and control node from Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
00:14:48.000and are prepared to respond to an Israeli military operation against the facility.
00:14:53.000So this is, I'm just telling you what we as the intelligence community assesses is happening in Gaza City, how Hamas is using these hospitals to operate.
00:15:05.000But absolutely, we do not want to see a firefight in a hospital where there are innocent civilians.
00:15:11.000No one wants to see a firefight in a hospital.
00:15:13.000The only problem is that Hamas is going to pursue a firefight in the hospital and is literally doing that as we speak.
00:15:20.000No matter that this behavior by Hamas under international law does transform such sites into military sites.
00:15:26.000In 2016, as the Wall Street Journal points out, U.S.
00:15:31.000forces didn't just attack the hospital, they hit it with an airstrike.
00:15:34.000Here is what CENTCOM said at the time, quote, ISIL was using the hospital as a base of operations and command and control headquarters.
00:15:40.000In support of the Iraqi security forces, coalition aircraft conducted a precision strike on the location to target enemy fighters firing on Iraqi forces.
00:15:50.000After all, Barack Obama was president at the time.
00:15:53.000And yet Israel is going in and attempting to take out Hamas room by room, all while trying to protect Gazan civilians.
00:15:59.000And still the media are treating that as some sort of war crime.
00:16:02.000Many members of the media keep asking if a hospital suddenly becomes a legitimate target just because Hamas is You know, using it as a military site.
00:16:50.000At this moment we are hearing from Reuters that is reporting that Israel, it says its forces are carrying out an operation against Hamas in Gaza's al-Shifa hospital and they are targeting people including medical teams as well as Arab speakers.
00:17:06.000They are also saying that Israel is calling on all Hamas operatives in the hospital to surrender at this point.
00:17:14.000Once again, we are hearing from Reuters that Israel says that its forces are carrying out an operation against Hamas in that hospital that we had just heard of.
00:17:23.000They are targeting Arab speakers as well as some of the medical staff there, and they are asking all Hamas operatives in that hospital to surrender.
00:18:16.000This follows on their other blood libel where they claimed that Israel had bombed a hospital early on in the conflict and then had to walk that one off.
00:18:27.000BBC News, as it covered initial reports that Israeli forces has entered Gaza's main hospital, we said that medical teams and Arab speakers were being targeted.
00:18:37.000This was incorrect and misquoted a Reuters report.
00:18:40.000We should have said IDF forces included medical teams and Arabic speakers for this operation.
00:18:47.000So we apologise for this error which fell below our usual editorial standards.
00:20:01.000In this 12-lecture course, you'll explore the design and purpose of the Constitution, the challenges it faced during the Civil War, and how it has been undermined for more than a century by progressivism and liberalism.
00:20:12.000Our country needs more Americans who understand the Constitution and can defend our freedom against the encroachment of an increasingly large and unaccountable government.
00:20:19.000Head on over to hillsdale.edu to enroll.
00:20:45.000Nobody with a brain actually believes the media's moral equivalence game.
00:20:48.000There are people who are soft-headed, who are interested in the moral equivalence game because it makes them feel sophisticated.
00:20:54.000There are people who do the moral equivalence game because it makes them feel like they can have a level of disconnect from the conflict, and that makes them feel very good about themselves.
00:21:02.000The easiest position in any conflict is to both sides the thing.
00:21:05.000But the reality is, the vast majority of Americans are not doing that.
00:22:57.000Now, you can say things that are true and also get things done, but what that would require is you to admit to your public that you are not always going to get everything that you want, because life isn't fair.
00:23:06.000It requires that instead of posturing, you actually have to make a deal and then go back to your constituents and explain to them the deal that you just made and why you weren't able to meet all of their dreams.
00:23:14.000And there's a problem for politicians because, again, the politicians most likely to win are the ones who promise you the world.
00:23:20.000Now, that isn't really a problem with the politicians.
00:23:22.000In the end, it's a problem with the electorate.
00:23:24.000The electorate needs to get over itself.
00:23:26.000The electorate in the United States is true, again, across the board, have a tendency to fall for politicians who promise them the world.
00:23:32.000And then they can't deliver the world.
00:24:03.000Is a bunch of people who are idiotically smacking each other in the back of the head like a bunch of dumb school kids sticking gum in each other's hair in order to get attention.
00:24:13.000And it's true on like all sides of the aisle and it's frustrating and it's idiotic.
00:24:16.000And meanwhile, the government just continues spending insane amounts of cash and making really crappy policy because in the end, the people who actually do the deals are the ones who are in the back room hashing the deal out.
00:24:26.000And then it was like, well, if we just replace those guys with someone who promises me the world, that will fix the thing.
00:25:05.000So then the question is whether you're gonna elect politicians who are good at making the deal or bad at making the deal.
00:25:10.000Okay, so, we're gonna go through a litany of just absolute clownish behavior by members of Congress over the course of the next few minutes.
00:25:29.000He threatened to get in a fist fight with a union boss in the Senate yesterday.
00:25:33.000And Bernie Sanders, who is a socialist clown who has never done a productive thing in his entire life, suddenly is the voice of reason here.
00:25:43.000We have now gotten to the point where the geriatric communist who literally was thrown off a commune for being too lazy in the 70s and refused to pay, like, any of the paternity bills for his kids.
00:25:57.000So this all led off, by the way, because the union boss who was testifying, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters president, Sean O'Brien, he had apparently tweeted against Mullen, calling him a clown and a fraud who pretends like he's self-made.
00:26:15.000And he said, quit the tough guy act in the Senate hearings.
00:26:17.000You know where to find me, any place, any time.
00:26:19.000And here's how it went down in the Senate yesterday.
00:27:23.000And meanwhile, I got the union bus, like, let's do this right now, let's do this right here, right now, middle of Senate floor, let's do this thing!
00:27:29.000Like, so first of all, gotta admit, Woodwatch.
00:27:35.000Woodwatch actual fist fight in the Senate.
00:27:36.000Because honestly, if these clowns aren't going to do anything, if they're going to be completely useless people, we may as well get like a UFC match out of it.
00:27:42.000By the way, Mark Wayne Mullen would win.
00:27:44.000Like if you actually look at Mark Wayne Mullen's background, like that guy actually kind of knows how to fight, is apparently the story.
00:28:07.000And Democrats know the same thing because Democrats are doing it.
00:28:09.000Now, Republicans are so busy being bad at their jobs that they're doing it more often than Democrats.
00:28:13.000You're seeing clownish behavior by Democrats for sure.
00:28:15.000You got moron Jamal Bowman pulling a fire alarm and then pretending he didn't know that a fire alarm was a fire alarm and he thought that it opened doors.
00:28:22.000Every time he opens his fridge, he thinks he's opening, he thinks he's starting a shower or something.
00:28:28.000You got AOC who makes a living out of being a clown.
00:28:30.000You got actual terror supporters in Congress.
00:28:33.000And then you just have sort of like the regular clownish behavior of members of Congress.
00:28:36.000I gotta say, why would you trust these people with more power in any way, shape, or— But Republicans, because they're so bad at governing right now and because the caucus is so fractious, they've decided the best thing to do is to hit each other!
00:28:47.000So, apparently, yesterday, there was a bit of a throwdown between Kevin McCarthy, the ex-Speaker of the House from California, and Representative Tim Burchett of Tennessee.
00:29:00.000NPR congressional correspondent Claudia Grisales first reported the encounter on X saying it happened when she spoke with Burchett after the GOP's conference meeting on Tuesday.
00:29:09.000She said, have never seen this on Capitol Hill.
00:29:11.000While talking to representative Tim Burchett after the GOP conference meeting, former Speaker McCarthy walked by with his detail and McCarthy shoved Burchett.
00:31:08.000Okay, so, and then they pulled each other's hair and called each other, and then Kevin McCarthy said to Burchett, I'm rubber and you're glue.
00:31:14.000Whatever bounces off of me sticks back to you.
00:31:17.000And then Burchett went to a giant boulder and painted a tunnel on it in the hopes that Kevin McCarthy would run directly into the giant boulder, but Kevin McCarthy escaped by going into the tunnel and Burchett tried to follow him, but then he actually hit the giant boulder.
00:31:30.000That's what is apparently happening in the halls of Congress.
00:36:38.000He said, I myself have been a victim of outrageous conduct on the House floor as well.
00:36:43.000That, of course, was in reference to when House Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers of Alabama lunged at Gates during the election of McCarthy as Speaker back in January.
00:36:52.000But nothing like an open and public assault on a member committed by another member.
00:40:18.000Frankly, I hadn't heard what you just indicated.
00:40:21.000It's very difficult to control the behavior of everybody who's in the building.
00:40:30.000I don't view that as my responsibility.
00:40:33.000That's something that the Capitol Police have to deal with.
00:40:38.000Okay, so I'm just going to point out here that there is in fact a generational difference.
00:40:42.000Okay, like whatever you think about McConnell, and I got real problems with McConnell, whatever you think about Bernie Sanders, I have huge problems with Bernie Sanders, there is in fact a generational, maybe, it's just occurring to me now, maybe the reason we keep electing old politicians is because everyone who is between the ages apparently in Congress of like 30 and 60 is a child.
00:41:05.000We're like, okay, fine, so that guy's not functional and he's super old, but at the same time, at least he's not threatening fistfights.
00:41:13.000At least he's not engaging in Roadrunner cartoons here.
00:41:18.000We're such an unserious country because we have bred an entire generation of people who are fundamentally unserious about their jobs.
00:41:26.000And so, the people who end up with the actual deal-making power end up being the old men in the back room, as it always was.
00:41:32.000Now, it used to be younger men in the back room, but now it's older men in the back room, and they're like, we will promise the world and call each other smurfs and whack each other on the head with a rubber hammer.
00:41:54.000Remember that time that we ousted the Speaker of the House for no apparent reason and the new Speaker of the House came in and then cut the exact same deal?
00:41:59.000According to Breitbart, the House passed a continuing resolution Tuesday to extend spending levels from a lame-duck session last December by Democratic House and Senate majorities into 2024.
00:42:21.000The two-tiered continuing resolution, called a ladder to CR, extends the current spending levels for agriculture, energy and water, military, construction, VA, transportation, HUD spending bills through January 19th.
00:42:30.000The remaining eight bills are extended through February 2nd.
00:42:32.000Those spending levels were set by Democrats in December of 2022.
00:42:38.000Chuck Schumer said that he was very pleased with all of this.
00:43:06.000Why is it, do you think, that Speaker Johnson was able to get away with passing a clean mini-funding bill, which I think it's ridiculous to fund the government, honestly, through February in two halves.
00:44:11.000It is breathable, which is what I need, but that may not be what you need.
00:44:14.000And that's why you should take their two minute sleep quiz and it will match your body type and sleep preferences to the perfect mattress for you.
00:44:20.000They now have a brand new high-end collection.
00:44:22.000It's their most high-end collection, Helix Elite.
00:44:23.000Helix Elite harnesses years of extensive masterless expertise to offer a truly elevated sleep experience.
00:44:28.000The Helix Elite collection includes six different mattress models, each tailored for specific sleep positions and firmness preferences.
00:46:12.000Meanwhile, the Senate of the United States, they keep saying they're very pro-Israel, but then yesterday, the Senate voted along party lines to table a motion to proceed on a House-passed bill, according to The Hill, that would provide that $14.3 billion in emergency aid to Israel.
00:46:23.000So you remember, Joe Biden asked for a $105 billion foreign aid package.
00:46:28.000Some of it, $60 billion, was going to go to Ukraine.
00:46:55.000They need rearmament in order to finish that job.
00:46:56.000And they will finish that job if given the rearmament.
00:46:59.000If given more rearmament, Ukraine is still not going to push Russia out of Donbass or Crimea, so it's a different situation on the ground.
00:47:04.000Okay, so the House passed a bill that funded the aid to Israel, and they included in there a rider that would cut the IRS's budget.
00:47:12.000They said, we'll take the money out of the IRS's budget, and instead, we'll give that money to foreign aid to Israel in the middle of a war.
00:47:18.000And the Democrats voted unanimously to table that.
00:47:21.000So from the Democratic perspective, like, ah, it was a poison pill.
00:47:25.000But from a Republican perspective, the question is, your IRS funding is so important that you're not willing to pass a bill in the middle of a war to aid Israel in its fight against terrorism?
00:47:35.000President Biden had also threatened to veto the House bill.
00:47:37.000Now, in reality, there will end up being a deal that is cut here, but it is evidence of sort of the prioritization that Democrats have.
00:47:45.000I think the next step here for Mike Johnson is going to be to pass a clean Israel funding bill without the IRS cuts.
00:47:51.000And then watch as the Democrats try to veto that.
00:47:53.000Because at that point, it's like, okay, you have no excuses at that point.
00:47:55.000You can't even claim that the rider is the real issue.
00:47:58.000And the Senate operates like the Senate operates, and pretending otherwise doesn't change the fact on the ground.
00:48:02.000Okay, meanwhile, everybody in the Democratic Party has severe heartburn over Joe Biden.
00:48:08.000Long piece over at Politico called, Here's How Biden Can Turn It Around.
00:48:13.000Top Democrats agree the president needs more aggressiveness, more help from his friends, and a few more friends.
00:48:17.000And they're calling on Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney to help.
00:48:21.000Not in terms of them helping, but in terms of anyone listening to them.
00:48:26.000So this entire piece is just about the heartburn that Democrats have over Biden and what he can do to fix this thing.
00:48:33.000So they say that basically he needs to show more life.
00:48:36.000Enough with the bravado and denialism.
00:48:37.000His aides are under no illusion about their challenge.
00:48:39.000Even some of his most committed loyalists told me he needs to make changes.
00:48:42.000Yet the president often displays his resentments in ways that do nothing to move public opinion and only delay needed adjustments.
00:48:48.000Some of his younger aides mimic his snark.
00:48:51.000Shaming or ignoring dissent doesn't make it go away.
00:48:54.000And now that you have Jill Stein as a Green Party candidate and Joe Manchin newly teasing his presidential run, it's possible that Joe Biden could easily lose.
00:49:04.000And so, one of the recommendations here is that Joe Biden should appoint more people in positions of high power to help share the burden.
00:49:13.000That he needs to move Mike Donilon, who's his alter ego, over to the campaign.
00:49:18.000They need to move the White House to war footing.
00:49:21.000He should bring back Ron Klain, who did an amazing job, of course.
00:49:24.000These are all the recommendations, but the reality is that Joe Biden's policies are failing because they are failing.
00:49:29.000And part of that failure is going to be his meeting with Xi Jinping this week.
00:49:32.000So, Xi Jinping is coming to California.
00:50:01.000So right now, if you were going to exact concessions from the Chinese, now would be the time to do it.
00:50:05.000Xi actually has a very weak economy on his hands, as the Wall Street Journal points out.
00:50:11.000They say, on the eve of a virtual meeting with President Biden at an Asia-Pacific summit last fall, Xi was formally enshrined as China's most powerful leader in a generation.
00:50:21.000But China's economy is now beset by multiple challenges, from a deflating property bubble and unmanageable local government debts to slumping confidence and deflation.
00:50:29.000The U.S., meanwhile, recorded its strongest quarter in nearly two years, and inflation is starting to subside.
00:50:34.000That means the United States actually has leverage here.
00:50:37.000So what exactly should Biden move for?
00:50:39.000Well, certainly he should move for Xi to calm down on his military antics in the South China Sea.
00:50:44.000Certainly he should push for Xi to open the books on, say, COVID-19.
00:50:55.000So Joe Biden is trying to assure Xi Jinping, don't worry guys, we're not trying to decouple from you.
00:51:00.000I mean, I'm sure on a personal level, Joe Biden doesn't want to decouple from China since again, he was the big guy who was probably receiving Chinese money while he was in the vice presidency and post vice presidency era of his career.
00:51:10.000Here was Joe Biden saying, don't worry, don't worry.
00:51:12.000What we really want is to continue to be hand in glove with the Chinese.
00:51:18.000And how would you define success with your meeting with President Xi?
00:51:25.000To get back on a normal course of corresponding, being able to pick up the phone and talk to one another if there's a crisis, being able to make sure our military still have contact with one another.
00:51:35.000We can't take, as I told you, we're not trying to decouple from China, but what we're trying to do is change the relationship for the better.
00:51:49.000From my perspective, if in fact the Chinese people who are in trouble right now economically, if the average homeowner or the homeowner, if the average citizen in China was able to have a decent paying job, that benefits them and it benefits all of us.
00:52:06.000Okay, well, we will see what sort of concessions Biden makes to Xi.
00:52:09.000Do I have confidence that Biden is not going to get rolled?
00:52:11.000Why would I have possible confidence in that, considering how many times he has been rolled in the past?
00:52:16.000So, on Beijing's agenda is trying to relieve bans on manufacturing of sophisticated microchips on behalf of the Chinese government.
00:52:23.000They also want the American government to stop helping out Taiwan's Democracy Progressive Party, which opposes He wants basically the United States to help undercut all of that.
00:52:37.000Also, Xi is going to continue to pitch American business people on the idea that China is a place of opportunity.
00:52:44.000But again, the United States has a lot of leverage here.
00:52:47.000And the United States should be pushing for more demilitarization, more signals of conciliation from Xi Jinping.
00:52:54.000That's what Biden should be pushing for.
