00:00:00.000 Alyssa Milano leads a campaign against sex in order to fight Georgia's pro-life law, Harvard punishes an academic for defending Harvey Weinstein, and Democrats move closer to impeachment.

00:01:20.000 ZipRecruiter, the smartest way to hire. 0.96

00:01:21.000 ZipRecruiter.com slash DailyWire.

00:01:23.000 Okay, so the left has decided that the end of the world is nigh in Georgia, according to some of the world's best journalists.

00:01:30.000 Apparently, Georgia's new heartbeat bill, which protects the lives of the unborn, you know, unborn children, human lives, that bill, barbaric, dark ages, terrible, not only barbaric and dark ages and terrible, according to some of these brilliant folks, but apparently leads to the possibility that women will be prosecuted if they have a miscarriage in Georgia. 0.98

00:01:49.000 It will be the end of the world, cats and dogs sleeping together, all the rest of this crap. 0.93

00:01:53.000 Okay, here's the reality. 0.99

00:01:54.000 The bill does no such thing.

00:01:56.000 David French has a great piece over at National Review explaining the legality behind the Georgia law.

00:02:02.000 He points out that the law not only bans abortion when the baby has a detectable human heartbeat, it declares the scientific, philosophical, and theological truth that an unborn child is a natural person under state law.

00:02:12.000 In fact, the law even goes so far as to ensure that a guy who knocks up a woman has to provide child support for her pregnancy.

00:02:20.000 French points out he says I expected activist resistance and protest against the bill.

00:02:23.000 I expected radical voices to urge corporate boycotts of Georgia.

00:02:26.000 I must confess I did not expect to see a series of stories with lurid headlines and fundamentally mistaken premises go viral and stay viral for days.

00:02:35.000 Here is a sampling.

00:02:36.000 Georgia.

00:02:37.000 Slate.

00:02:37.000 Georgia just criminalized abortion.

00:02:39.000 Women who terminate their pregnancies would receive life in prison. 0.93

00:02:42.000 The Week.

00:02:42.000 Georgia's heartbeat abortion bill could imprison women for life.

00:02:45.000 All of this is garbage. 1.00

00:02:47.000 All of it is untrue. 1.00

00:02:48.000 All of it is slanted news and fake news and stupidity. 1.00

00:02:52.000 And biased. 1.00

00:02:53.000 Because here is the truth.

00:02:54.000 This is not what the law says.

00:02:56.000 The stories are viral because they rely, says French, on facially plausible reasoning.

00:03:01.000 Since Georgia declared all unborn children to be natural persons, then Georgia's conventional murder statute must apply to women who self-terminate. 0.99

00:03:07.000 But this is fundamentally wrong.

00:03:09.000 The heartbeat bill did not repeal a number of Georgia criminal statutes, It is not the pro-life position, nor has it been as far as I'm aware ever, that women who self-terminate pregnancies ought to be prosecuted.

00:03:19.000 that these statutes bar prosecution of a woman for terminating her own pregnancy.

00:03:22.000 It is not the pro-life position, nor has it been, as far as I'm aware ever, that women who self-terminate pregnancies ought to be prosecuted.

00:03:29.000 This is simply not a pro-life position.

00:03:31.000 Donald Trump, you'll recall in 2016, made implications that he might want to prosecute women who did this, and the entire pro-life movement came down on his head.

00:03:39.000 So when folks on the left, people on the social left, journalists who lie, say things like this bill is going to criminalize women who self-terminate or who have miscarriages, like accidental miscarriages, it is just not true.

00:03:53.000 First, as French points out, there is a specific code section that applies to unlawful abortions.

00:03:57.000 Georgia Code Section 162140 states, quote, A person commits the offense of criminal abortion when, in violation of Code Section 162141, he or she administers any medicine, drugs, or other substance, whatever, to any woman, or when he or she uses any instrument or other means, whatever, upon any woman with intent to produce a miscarriage or abortion.

00:04:16.000 A person convicted of the offense of criminal abortion shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one, nor more than 10 years.

00:04:22.000 Code Section 162141 is the exact section that was amended to include the heartbeat provision.

00:04:28.000 If a person performs an abortion in violation of the heartbeat bill, then code section 16-12-140 applies.

00:04:33.000 It does not impose life imprisonment on anybody.

00:04:36.000 Georgia courts have held it does not apply to a woman who self-terminates only to third parties who perform an abortion, which again, is the traditional pro-life position, but people who don't know anything say differently because they are liars.

00:04:46.000 In Hillman v. State, the Court of Appeals of Georgia rejected the prosecution's efforts to imprison a woman who shot herself in the stomach to kill her unborn child.

00:04:54.000 Interpreting 1612-140, it said, quote, This statute is written in the third person, clearly indicating that at least two actors must be involved.

00:05:02.000 Accordingly, it does not criminalize a pregnant woman's actions in securing an abortion regardless of the means utilized.

00:05:07.000 Second, the Georgia Code section that criminalizes feticide, such as when a man attacks a woman for purpose of killing her unborn baby, specifically says, quote, Nothing in this Code section shall be construed to permit the prosecution of any woman with respect to her unborn child.

00:05:22.000 Taken together, these statutes mean that a woman cannot be prosecuted If you're still skeptical about my argument, perhaps you'll believe a Planned Parenthood representative responding to a query from the Washington Post.

00:05:34.000 The Post fact-checked claims that the Georgia bill criminalized women who terminated their own pregnancies and found those claims incorrect.

00:05:40.000 This is a quote from The Washington Post.

00:05:42.000 Quote, the news headlines and social media headlines that speculate about the bill's unintended consequences are, at the very least, not productive.

00:05:48.000 At most, they're harmful.

00:05:49.000 This is according to Planned Parenthood's Stacey Fox.

00:05:52.000 HB 481 could not be used to successfully prosecute women, she argued.

00:05:57.000 She says if a woman had a miscarriage, she could be pulled into an investigation looking at whether someone had performed an illegal abortion on her. 0.83

00:06:04.000 But again, that is not for purposes of prosecuting the woman, nor is the suggestion that a woman could be jailed for a miscarriage. 0.99

00:06:09.000 That's a bunch of crap put out by badly motivated people who are liars. 0.95

00:06:14.000 That's a far, far cry from the headlines above, says David French, but the truth isn't stopping the falsehood from rocketing around social media. 0.99

00:06:20.000 So, with that in mind, it is important to see how the left has responded to the lie, how they push the lie, how they exacerbate the lie, and then how they, on the back of this, use the woke lie in order to promote some of the dumbest boycott policy I have ever seen in my life.

00:06:38.000 So first, you're seeing corporations saying that they're going to boycott Georgia.

00:06:41.000 They won't film in Georgia.

00:06:42.000 Well, I'm sure that that's going to change the lives of pro-lifers.

00:06:45.000 I'm sure that all the pro-lifers in the state of Georgia will suddenly be okay with the killing of the unborn, so long as you guys don't bring your production of Hangover Part 4 to Georgia.

00:06:55.000 It's going to change everything, guys.

00:06:58.000 But according to NBC News, Hollywood, it just shows you where Hollywood is, that they really care deeply about abortion.

00:07:02.000 Abortion is the Hollywood litmus test.

00:07:05.000 There are two litmus tests for morality in Hollywood. 0.70

00:07:07.000 One, are you okay with killing unborn children?

00:07:10.000 And two, how do you feel about same-sex marriage? 0.95

00:07:12.000 Now, it used to be that same-sex marriage was really the only test.

00:07:15.000 You could be pro-life in Hollywood, sort of.

00:07:17.000 But the fact is, you're not really allowed to be pro-life anymore. 0.90

00:07:20.000 If you're pro-life in Hollywood, this is a symptom of you being a crazed religious fanatic. 0.99

00:07:25.000 Or as Chris Cuomo, the very objective journalist on CNN has said, the only reason to be pro-life is faith and feelings, which is utter crap and garbage, obviously. 0.98

00:07:35.000 Well, when it comes to Hollywood, I mean, I remember I did a book called Primetime Propaganda. 0.96

00:07:40.000 This is back in 2013, 2014.

00:07:44.000 In any case, my book was about Hollywood and how Hollywood is biased against conservatives.

00:07:44.000 2012 maybe.

00:07:49.000 One of the people I interviewed for the book was Patricia Heaton.

00:07:51.000 Patti Heaton has been the star of multiple sitcoms. 1.00

00:07:54.000 She was the star of Everybody Loves Raymond.

00:07:56.000 She played Raymond's wife.

00:07:57.000 She was the star of The Middle.

00:07:58.000 She's been a consistent fixture on television for years.

00:08:02.000 And I remember I interviewed her because Patti is deeply pro-life.

00:08:05.000 She's Catholic and she's deeply pro-life.

00:08:07.000 And I asked her, do you feel that you've ever lost a job because of your pro-life position?

00:08:11.000 And she said, no, I've been working consistently in town for 20 years.

00:08:14.000 And she said, can I call you back?

00:08:16.000 Two days later, I received a call from Patty and she said, I've been calling around.

00:08:20.000 I called my agent.

00:08:21.000 I called a bunch of people.

00:08:22.000 They never told me this, but I've lost seven specific jobs due to being pro-life.

00:08:26.000 One of the litmus tests in Hollywood is whether you're in favor of the quote-unquote right of a woman to kill an unborn child and have an abortion doctor do it, right? 0.80

00:08:35.000 This is one of the moral questions of the day because morality in Hollywood is completely upside down.

00:08:40.000 If you wish to raise your child religious, evil. 1.00

00:08:43.000 If you wish to kill your child in the womb, good. 1.00

00:08:45.000 That's the basic logical morality of Hollywood, unfortunately. 0.95

00:08:49.000 So now, Hollywood is declaring that it's going to boycott Georgia.

00:08:52.000 It's funny, I don't remember Hollywood boycotting Hollywood after Harvey Weinstein.

00:08:55.000 I don't remember Hollywood boycotting Hollywood after Oscars So White. 0.95

00:08:59.000 I don't remember any of this stuff.

00:09:01.000 But I do remember Hollywood trying to boycott the state of Georgia.

00:09:04.000 OK, so according to NBC News, multiple production companies have announced they will no longer film in Georgia after the state passed a restrictive abortion law.

00:09:12.000 The law, signed by Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican, on Tuesday, bans abortion once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can be as early as six weeks before some women even know they are pregnant.

00:09:21.000 Georgia has quietly become a major production location for film and television, largely because of tax incentives the state offers.

00:09:27.000 In 2016, according to the non-profit film LA, 17 of the year's top 100 films were produced in Georgia, more than in California, because it turns out that Democrats in California don't like the economic policies that they vote for.

00:09:37.000 So they vote for these crap economic policies in my home state, and then they can't stand the heat, and so they get out of the kitchen and they go to Georgia.

00:09:44.000 Kemp said this year the industry employs around 200,000 Georgians and brings in tens of billions of dollars of revenue to the state. 0.89

00:09:51.000 David Simon, who's the creator of The Wire and a far leftist, said his production company will cease filming in the state.

00:09:56.000 He tweeted, quote, our comparative assessments of locations for upcoming development will pull Georgia off the list until we can be assured the health options and civil liberties of our female colleagues are unimpaired. 1.00

00:10:05.000 If you truly believe that Georgia is going to change its abortion policy because frickin David Simon ain't going to film there, I don't think you understand pro-life people.

00:10:14.000 Thank you.

00:10:15.000 For pro-life people, this bill is the equivalent of the abolition of slavery.

00:10:19.000 And if you think that those people are going to be like, yeah, you know what?

00:10:22.000 Let's go back to the killing of babies because I desperately need David Simon's latest TV show here.

00:10:27.000 Think again.

00:10:28.000 Mark Duplass, a delightful fellow who I personally know, tweeted, quote, don't give your business to Georgia and asked other producers to join him.

00:10:36.000 He says, will you pledge with me not to film anything in Georgia until they reverse this backwards legislation?

00:10:41.000 Well, I pledge that I won't watch any of your overrated films, Mark Duplass. 0.96

00:10:46.000 Mark Duplass, by the way, is a truly cowardly individual. 0.98

00:10:51.000 I mean, a truly cowardly individual. 0.85

00:10:52.000 I'll tell you a Mark Duplass story in just one second, because we have a really good Mark Duplass story here at The Daily Wire.

00:12:00.000 So, quick side note before I get to my Mark Duplass story.

00:12:04.000 So, the quick side note is this.

00:12:06.000 All these folks in Hollywood who think that they are punishing the state of Georgia by not relocating in Georgia for their filming, You think the people who work on their films in Georgia are, by and large, the people who voted for Brian Kemp?

00:12:16.000 They're punishing the very people who are allied with their political allies.

00:12:21.000 They're punishing their own political allies in Georgia.

00:12:23.000 But again, political cowardice is the nature of the folks in California.

00:12:27.000 They won't stay in California and pay their fair share.

00:12:30.000 Instead, they hijack it, they hightail it to Georgia to take advantage of the tax benefits.

00:12:35.000 And then, when Georgia doesn't act like California with regard to pro-life laws, Then all of a sudden, we're not going to go there.

00:12:41.000 We're not going to go there.

00:12:42.000 Why? 1.00

00:12:43.000 Because they're cowards. 1.00

00:12:44.000 And not only are they cowards, they're vicious cowards. 1.00

00:12:46.000 I haven't seen a lot of conservatives say we're not doing business in New York or California thanks to their immoral abortion laws. 0.97

00:12:52.000 They continue to recognize that we live in a republic and that it is good to do business with people with whom you disagree because we still have to share this republic.

00:12:59.000 Folks on the left are basically creating Okay, so here's the Mark Duplass story, which I think tells you what you need to know about the moral backbone of Hollywood.

00:13:07.000 So, Mark Duplass happens to be a fairly talented guy.

00:13:09.000 or whether they are boycotting Georgia in its attempts to save the lives of the unborn.

00:13:14.000 It's pretty amazing.

00:13:16.000 Okay, so here's the Mark Duplass story, which I think tells you what you need to know about the moral backbone of Hollywood.

00:13:20.000 So Mark Duplass happens to be a fairly talented guy.

00:13:23.000 He's been on some TV shows.

00:13:24.000 He's produced some films.

00:13:25.000 And Mark Duplass came to our office here at Daily Wire because he wanted to spend some time with me.

00:13:31.000 He reached out to me, because he was doing a film on the Second Amendment, and he wanted to make sure that it wasn't biased too far in one direction or the other, so he wanted to know the pro-gun arguments, which is great.

00:13:41.000 So he came in, I gave him about an hour and a half of my time, and as he left I warned him, dude, do not tweet that you have been here, because if you tweet that you have been here, your own side will stab you in the back, like the Night's Watch to John, like that's how this will go.

00:13:53.000 And he did not believe me, About three weeks later, for no real reason, he tweets out that I am a well-intentioned fellow, which is a statement of which I happen to agree.

00:14:04.000 I have conversations with folks all the time on the left so long as they're not badly motivated.

00:14:09.000 I have lots of conversations with people on the left on a regular basis.

00:14:13.000 And Duplass tweets out that I'm a nice guy who is well-motivated.

00:14:16.000 And Duplass then gets hit with a wave, a raft of leftists saying, no, he's the worst person who ever lived. 0.97

00:14:22.000 He's so terrible.

00:14:23.000 Duplass not only pulls down the tweet saying that I'm a decent person, he then puts up a new tweet saying that he opposes all forms of racism, sexism, bigotry, and homophobia.

00:14:31.000 So when it comes to woke scolding, Duplass is definitely at the top of the list.

00:14:36.000 And the cowardice of people who won't have conversations, the cowardice of people who simply decide that because they oppose George's abortion law, they're now boycotting the state, is pretty astonishing.

00:14:45.000 Now, this goes to some pretty insane lengths.

00:14:49.000 And the most insane lengths, of course, come courtesy of Alyssa Milano. 0.98

00:14:52.000 So Alyssa Milano, is a pretty untalented actress who used to be uncharmed, and she decided that she was going to initiate a recap of Lysistrata.

00:15:04.000 She was saying that women, feminists, should not have sex with their boyfriends until Georgia repeals its law. 0.99

00:15:12.000 So she tweeted out, quote, this is with hashtag sex strike, if our choices are denied, so are yours, quote, our reproductive rights are being erased. 1.00

00:15:22.000 So, a few things about this, because it's pretty frickin' great.

00:15:24.000 A few things about this.

00:15:25.000 First of all, I assume Melissa Milano's boyfriend or husband... Is she married?

00:15:29.000 I think she's married.

00:15:30.000 Pass it on.

00:15:31.000 So a few things about this, because it's pretty freaking great.

00:15:36.000 A few things about this.

00:15:37.000 First of all, I assume Alyssa Milano's boyfriend or husband, is she married?

00:15:40.000 I think she's married.

00:15:41.000 I assume that her husband agrees with her on politics.

00:15:45.000 So she's now telling her woke husband she will not sleep with him because she's mad at Brian Kemp in Georgia.

00:15:53.000 First of all, if you're in the boudoir and your girl is bringing up Brian Kemp in Georgia, you got a problem.

00:15:59.000 You got a problem.

00:16:01.000 Second of all, I love that the left is now, through a backdoor method, rediscovering traditional morality.

00:16:08.000 So Elizabeth Milano tweets, we can love sex and fight for our bodily autonomy. 0.86

00:16:13.000 There are lots of alternatives to cis men. 1.00

00:16:16.000 Protect your vaginas, ladies. 1.00

00:16:18.000 Men in positions of power are trying to legislate them. 1.00

00:16:20.000 Hashtag sex strike.

00:16:21.000 So, I'm confused. 0.99

00:16:23.000 First of all, babies grow in uteruses, not in vaginas. 0.98

00:16:26.000 Second of all, I don't know how you legislate a vagina. 1.00

00:16:30.000 Very weird. 0.96

00:16:32.000 I don't know, what would that legislation look like?

00:16:34.000 Section 10B8. 0.99

00:16:36.000 Vagina. 1.00

00:16:37.000 What do you legislate a vagina? 1.00

00:16:40.000 And then, my favorite here is that she says, so you can continue to have sex, just not with a cis man. 1.00

00:16:48.000 So you can have sex with a transgender man, I guess. 1.00

00:16:51.000 So a woman, a bodily woman, who says she is a man, You can have sex with or with another woman. 1.00

00:16:57.000 But I was informed by the woke left that sexual orientation is completely non-malleable. 0.96

00:17:02.000 I was informed by the left that if you are a straight woman, just as if you are a gay woman, you can't just switch and start having sex with people whom your biology does not attract you to. 0.90

00:17:11.000 I mean, so which is it, Alyssa Milano? 0.96

00:17:14.000 There's so many woke problems with this tweet. 0.99

00:17:16.000 Also, it says, protect your vaginas, ladies. 1.00

00:17:19.000 Ladies? 1.00

00:17:20.000 What kind of cis-normative heteronormative nonsense is this? 0.95

00:17:24.000 Not all... 1.00

00:17:26.000 Hey, lots of men have vaginas. 1.00

00:17:30.000 Alyssa Milano. 0.99

00:17:31.000 By the way, it's hilarious.

00:17:32.000 Somebody actually tweeted that at her.

00:17:34.000 Some woke person tweeted at her. 1.00

00:17:36.000 Not all ladies have vaginas. 1.00

00:17:38.000 Some have penises. 1.00

00:17:39.000 It's not hard to put cysts before ladies, but you chose not to try, and that's transphobic behavior. 0.99

00:17:44.000 And then Alyssa Milano tweeted back, you're right.

00:17:47.000 If I could edit, I would.

00:17:49.000 Thank you.

00:17:50.000 Aw, the wokeness.

00:17:53.000 A man who says he's a woman is a real woman. 0.99

00:17:54.000 So you can have sex, I guess, also with a traditional cis man, so long as he says that he is not cis, right? 0.61

00:18:00.000 So long as he is just a normal biological man who says he's... 0.65

00:18:03.000 So I guess Alyssa Milano has a way out. 1.00

00:18:05.000 Just gets her husband to identify as a woman, and then they're having lesbian sex and everything's cool. 0.98

00:18:09.000 So I guess that provides an easy way out. 0.99

00:18:11.000 But my favorite part...

00:18:12.000 Go back to the first tweet for a second.

00:18:13.000 The first tweet where she says, our reproductive rights are being erased... 1.00

00:18:18.000 Until women have legal control over our own bodies, we cannot risk pregnancy. 0.99

00:18:21.000 Join me by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back.

00:18:25.000 Congratulations and welcome to traditional marriage, Alyssa Milano.

00:18:28.000 Congratulations to you.

00:18:30.000 So, as a virgin until marriage, a person who believes that it is moral to be abstinent until you are having sex with a person with whom you would not mind having a baby, welcome to my world, Alyssa Milano. 0.97

00:18:42.000 Where it turns out that if you don't want to, you know, produce a baby that you're gonna kill in the womb, then maybe you shouldn't have sex with that person. 0.91

00:18:49.000 It's hilarious. 0.98

00:18:50.000 And she's seeing this as such a negative. 0.96

00:18:52.000 Until women can abort their babies again, they should only have sex with men with whom they are willing to have babies. 1.00

00:18:59.000 Okay. 0.99

00:19:00.000 Like, yeah.

00:19:01.000 That was called marriage. 0.94

00:19:03.000 That's called traditional sexual morality, where you don't screw people you're not willing to have a baby with. 1.00

00:19:08.000 Sounds good to me! 0.91

00:19:10.000 So I'm all for this. 0.91

00:19:11.000 I'm on board with the sex strike. 0.73

00:19:13.000 Because, you know what? 0.99

00:19:15.000 Frankly, I don't care whether feminists like Alyssa Milano have sex. 1.00

00:19:17.000 Makes no difference to me. 0.60

00:19:18.000 Your choice, lady.

00:19:19.000 Has no impact on me.

00:19:21.000 Second, if women are encouraged not to have sex until they are in a place where they are going to be comfortable with having a baby, net societal win in a massive way. 0.94

00:19:31.000 So I'm fully on board with hashtag sex strike.

00:19:33.000 I think this is great. 0.90

00:19:34.000 I think this is great.

00:19:34.000 And I totally endorse it.

00:19:36.000 I'm happy to jump on board. 0.95

00:19:38.000 So sign me up for Alyssa Milano's mission to get feminists to stop having sex with men unless they are willing to get married to them and have a baby. 1.00

00:19:45.000 You know who else is on board with that?

00:19:48.000 Every traditional moral person.

00:19:49.000 So, that is pretty spectacular stuff.

00:19:52.000 Ah, the left's self-ownership is quite pleasant on this particular issue.

00:19:56.000 I've truly enjoyed it.

00:19:57.000 But it didn't stop there.

00:19:59.000 It didn't stop there.

00:20:00.000 So, yesterday, of course, was Mother's Day.

00:20:02.000 And there's always a great irony on Mother's Day.

00:20:04.000 I have a traditional joke that I always say on Mother's Day because the left is so perverse on issues related to gender.

00:20:11.000 I have a traditional joke.

00:20:12.000 It's so funny.

00:20:12.000 People online are noticing that I tell this joke every Mother's and Father's Day.

00:20:16.000 Yes.

00:20:17.000 Yes, I do.

00:20:18.000 Because I keep reinforcing the same point.

00:20:20.000 You think I don't know that, guys?

00:20:21.000 Of course I know it.

00:20:22.000 What I always tweet on Mother's Day is, Because according to the left, I am confused.

00:20:29.000 A mother can be a man. 1.00

00:20:30.000 A mother can be a woman. 1.00

00:20:31.000 A mother can be anything. 0.81

00:20:33.000 And as far as what actually constitutes a mother, I assume that you just mean a legal guardian.

00:20:37.000 So, yes, it is a joke.

00:20:38.000 It is a joke upon those who are woke.

00:20:40.000 Okay, so, on Mother's Day, The left, which is simultaneously promoting abortion, is tweeting out these very sweet photos of their own children.

00:20:49.000 So Alyssa Milano, who's promoting, I'm not going to have sex until abortion is allowed. 1.00

00:20:53.000 And also says that women should have sex apparently not with men, not with cis men, but with other women or transgender men or transgender women, I guess. 0.87

00:21:03.000 She's tweeting out this very traditional photo. 0.90

00:21:05.000 Happy Mother's Day.

00:21:05.000 What an amazing gift it is to have these two wonders and prepare them for life and love.

00:21:09.000 A very wise friend told me yesterday, we have a singular purpose on our short time on this planet, to love and be loved.

00:21:14.000 I concur.

00:21:15.000 I wish you all a beautiful day, unless you're an unborn baby. 1.00

00:21:19.000 In that case, I hope they suck your brains into a sink. 1.00

00:21:22.000 Because hell, that's a choice, ladies. 1.00

00:21:25.000 Come on.

00:21:25.000 All right, in a second, we'll get to more Mother's Day messages from the woke.

00:21:28.000 But first, admit it, you think cybercrime is something that happens to other people.

00:21:32.000 You might think no one wants your data, or that hackers can't grab your passwords or credit card details.

00:21:36.000 You would be wrong.

00:21:38.000 Stealing data from unsuspecting people on public Wi-Fi?

00:21:40.000 It's one of the simplest and cheapest ways for hackers to make money.

00:21:43.000 When you leave your internet connection unencrypted, you may as well be writing your passwords and credit card numbers on a huge billboard for the rest of the world to see.

00:21:50.000 That's why I decided to take action.

00:21:52.000 To protect myself from cybercriminals, I use ExpressVPN.

00:21:55.000 ExpressVPN secures and anonymizes your internet browsing by encrypting your data and hiding your public IP address.

00:22:00.000 ExpressVPN has easy-to-use apps that run seamlessly in the background of your computer, phone, and tablet.

00:22:05.000 Turning on ExpressVPN protection, that only takes one click.

00:22:08.000 Using ExpressVPN, I can safely surf on public Wi-Fi without being snooped on or having my personal data stolen.

00:22:13.000 For less than $7 a month, you can get the same ExpressVPN protection that I have.

00:22:17.000 ExpressVPN is rated the number one VPN service by TechRadar.

00:22:21.000 It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

00:22:37.000 Expressvpn.com slash ben.

00:22:38.000 No reason to expose your personal info.

00:22:40.000 To the mothers who have yet to be reunited with their children after being separated at the border.

00:22:44.000 Mothers whose children were taken by gun violence or illness.

00:22:47.000 Mothers who have lost a child or children who have lost their mothers.

00:22:51.000 So Kristen Gillibrand tweeted out, quote, to the mothers who have yet to be reunited with their children after being separated at the border, mothers whose children were taken by gun violence or illness, mothers who have lost a child or children who have lost their mothers, I'm holding you in my heart today and always.

00:23:04.000 Which is nice, except for the Kristen Gillibrand is totally fine with late-term abortion. 1.00

00:23:09.000 So, apparently, I do love people who celebrate motherhood and also celebrate abortion. 0.59

00:23:15.000 Celebrate it!

00:23:16.000 And it's not... Leanna Nguyen, the head of Planned Parenthood, did this routine.

00:23:19.000 So, she runs an organization that kills 300,000 unborn children a year. 0.99

00:23:24.000 And she tweeted out a picture of herself with her kid and her husband.

00:23:27.000 Says as the mother of my beautiful 20 month old son, I am proud to march for moms so that all our children grow up in a society that ensures health care is a fundamental right for all, not a privilege reserved only for some.

00:23:37.000 Hashtag beyond Mother's Day.

00:23:39.000 Well, if you want to ensure that health health care is a fundamental right for all, how about you include the baby in that?

00:23:43.000 You're holding one.

00:23:44.000 You're holding your own child.

00:23:45.000 But according to you, if we reverse the clock 21 months, because that's a 20-month-old son, you reverse the clock 21 months, totally kill that thing.

00:23:51.000 Totally fine.

00:23:52.000 And you know what?

00:23:53.000 Just a choice.

00:23:54.000 Just the way things ought to be.

00:23:57.000 If you can't see the perverse morality of that, I don't know what to tell you, because obviously that is a perversion.

00:24:03.000 But the left has moved from safe, legal, and rare to abortion should be celebrated. 0.74

00:24:09.000 Now we have Amanda Palmer, who is apparently a singer, songwriter, and performance artist.

00:24:15.000 The LA Times has a long article about Amanda Palmer over the weekend.

00:24:19.000 Says, Amanda Palmer never planned to release another album.

00:24:21.000 She certainly didn't need to.

00:24:23.000 Since 2012, the singer, songwriter, and performance artist has relied entirely on her fans to fund the piecemeal creation of her new work.

00:24:29.000 Apparently, she grosses more than $100,000 a month from her nearly 15,000 Patreon subscribers.

00:24:35.000 Income inequality alert, guys!

00:24:37.000 But, apparently, she needs to create a new album. 0.58

00:24:41.000 Why?

00:24:42.000 Because she is worried about abortion.

00:24:43.000 Quote, Palmer also publishes an accompanying book, which is part memoir and part liner notes.

00:24:49.000 It includes lyrics, stream-of-consciousness essays, and lush photos of the 43-year-old artist, sometimes nude and styled like a renaissance-era goddess.

00:24:56.000 It is already sold out on Palmer's website.

00:24:58.000 A substantial part of her new show involves Palmer's three abortions, two in her 30s, and one at age 17.

00:25:03.000 Okay, don't tell me that you don't know how to use birth control.

00:25:07.000 You're in your 30s and you had two abortions.

00:25:10.000 If you are using abortion as a form of birth control, You are doing something deeply morally wrong.

00:25:16.000 There's a deep evil to knowing better and producing a human life and then snuffing it out because you were too irresponsible to use birth control.

00:25:24.000 She says there was no part of me that woke up one morning and said, I know what would be great.

00:25:28.000 I'll go out and sit on stage and talk graphically about my abortions.

00:25:31.000 But the state of the union seems to insist upon it.

00:25:33.000 Palmer is referring to the scary six-week abortion bans signed into law this year in states including Ohio, Mississippi, and Georgia.

00:25:39.000 She's offering abortion providers free tickets to her shows nationwide as an attempt to show support and normalize access to reproductive health care. 0.98

00:25:47.000 The euphemisms here are astonishing.

00:25:49.000 Normalizing access to reproductive health care? 0.99

00:25:51.000 That means that she's going to champion abortion. 0.98

00:25:53.000 She says the truth is really liberating.

00:25:55.000 It's one thing to read it on the internet.

00:25:57.000 It's another thing to sit in a room with someone and say, listen, this is how I felt when this happened.

00:26:01.000 You're not alone and you're not crazy.

00:26:04.000 Palmer says the political climate gave her the push she needed to make There Will Be No Intermission, for which she began to entertain the idea about two years ago.

00:26:12.000 It was a nerve-wracking proposition for the one-time frontwoman for the cabaret punk group Dresden Dolls. 0.71

00:26:16.000 She'd vowed to stay away from the shackles of the idiotic album cycle, but now she felt the necessity to do something.

00:26:23.000 She said she figured that no one would pay attention to her and her political messaging about reproductive rights unless she played by the music industry's rules and released a full-length album. 0.95

00:26:31.000 I knew I'd only be able to get on the phone with someone from the LA Times if I put a record out.

00:26:35.000 I know that's how it works.

00:26:37.000 The tracks on the resulting album are so dark that a mother's confession, a 10-minute-plus song about Ash falling from a shelf Palmer placed him on as a baby, almost sounds comedic by comparison, because she has a baby and put the baby on a shelf and the baby fell.

00:26:50.000 And she says, at least the baby didn't die.

00:26:52.000 She sings in the chorus.

00:26:54.000 We were both into the idea this would be an unapologetic record of vulnerability.

00:26:58.000 It was obvious to me this was not going to be a commercial record.

00:27:00.000 All that mattered was that John and I were going to try and make this record as beautiful and as honest as possible.

00:27:06.000 She said this is the weirdest thing I've ever done.

00:27:07.000 It's like a stand-up show about abortion.

00:27:09.000 Nothing quite says morality like a stand-up show about abortion.

00:27:13.000 These are our moral betters.

00:27:15.000 These are the people who should dictate which human life gets protected.

00:27:18.000 These are the people we should respect when they give false stories about what exactly the abortion law does.

00:27:22.000 And also the people we should respect when they pull their funding from the state of Georgia.

00:27:27.000 I really think that people like Amanda Palmer, those are the people who I should trust when it comes to the protection of the unborn, when it comes to the protection of human life.

00:27:37.000 Well, the woke scolds had themselves quite a weekend.

00:27:39.000 Pretty incredible.

00:27:40.000 Twitter has now apparently blocked, and then I guess unblocked after some pressure, they blocked an expert PhD psychologist who helped write the official psychological position on transgender identity.

00:27:52.000 On Saturday, Ray Blanchard, the PhD psychologist and adjunct professor at the University of Toronto, who served on the Working Group for Gender Dysphoria, which is the psychological condition, the mental disorder, as named by the DSM-5, in the lexicon, Of mental disorders, gender dysphoria appears.

00:28:12.000 It is, in fact, mental disorder.

00:28:13.000 When I say that folks suffer from gender dysphoria are suffering from a mental illness, this is what I mean. 1.00

00:28:18.000 It is a disorder.

00:28:19.000 It is labeled so by the DSM-5.

00:28:21.000 This is an uncontroversial scientific position.

00:28:24.000 But it is so controversial now, and the left is so woke on this, that they banned the guy who wrote the rules for the DSM-5, Ray Blanchard.

00:28:31.000 He tweeted out his clinically informed opinion on transgender identity.

00:28:35.000 He still believes that sex change surgery is the best treatment for carefully screened adult patients whose gender dysphoria has proven resistant to other forms of treatment, but he opposed treating children who may change their minds.

00:28:47.000 And this got him blocked on Twitter.

00:28:49.000 He said sex change surgery should not be considered for any patients until that patient has reached the age of 21 years and has lived for at least two years in the desired gender role.

00:28:58.000 This is controversial because there are so many people on the woke left who without any data to support them want to give puberty blockers to children.

00:29:05.000 He defended this restriction.

00:29:08.000 He said, Gender dysphoria is not a sexual orientation.

00:29:11.000 It is virtually always preceded or accompanied by an atypical sexual orientation in males, either homosexuality or autogynephilia.

00:29:19.000 There are two main types of gender dysphoria in males, one associated with homosexuality, one associated with autogynephilia.

00:29:24.000 Traditionally, the great bulk of female to male transsexuals have been homosexual in erotic object choice. 0.95

00:29:30.000 This is all true.

00:29:32.000 And this is why he ended up getting banned from Twitter temporarily.

00:29:36.000 They blocked him on Twitter.

00:29:37.000 Jesse Singel, a contributing writer who happens to be honest at New York Magazine, I disagree with Jesse a lot, but at least he's an honest guy.

00:29:43.000 He expressed his fear that as a journalist who often writes about science, he worries he will not be able to continue using Twitter.

00:29:47.000 He says gender dysphoria is in the DSM-5.

00:29:50.000 Despite endless rumor mongering and misinformation to the contrary, it is considered a mental disorder.

00:29:56.000 Perhaps it shouldn't be, but it's beyond insane to suspend someone for expressing an opinion which lines up with the DSM.

00:30:02.000 It is also true that the reason that it was relabeled gender dysphoria had nothing to do with science and everything to do with politics.

00:30:11.000 He says we are approaching a Soviet fundamentalist take-your-pick level of science denialism.

00:30:16.000 Well, I'm so glad.

00:30:19.000 I'm so glad that the woke left is here to inform actual psychologists that they cannot use, you know, biologically correct terms.

00:30:26.000 Pretty incredible. 0.99

00:30:27.000 We'll get to more woke idiocy in just a second. 0.97

00:31:32.000 Go check us out right now.

00:31:33.000 We're the largest conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:31:36.000 Okay.

00:31:37.000 Other woke scoldery over the weekend.

00:31:44.000 Apparently, Harvard just let go its first black faculty deans.

00:31:50.000 Why? 0.62

00:31:50.000 Because these black faculty deans are doing the defense lawyering for Harvey Weinstein. 0.62

00:31:54.000 So according to the New York Times, Harvard said on Saturday, a law professor representing Harvey Weinstein would not continue as faculty dean of an undergraduate house after his term ends on June 30th.

00:32:04.000 The professor, Ronald Sullivan, Jr., and his wife, Stephanie Robinson, who's a lecturer at the law school, have been the faculty deans of Winthrop House, one of Harvard's residential houses for undergrad students since 2009.

00:32:15.000 They were the first black faculty deans in Harvard's history.

00:32:18.000 But when Sullivan joined the defense team of Mr. Weinstein, the Hollywood producer, in January, many students expressed dismay, saying that his decision to represent a person accused of abusing women disqualified Mr. Sullivan from serving in a role of support and mentorship to students.

00:32:31.000 Weinstein is scheduled to go on trial in September in Manhattan on rape and related charges.

00:32:37.000 As the protests continued, with graffiti aimed at Mr. Sullivan appearing on a university building, Harvard administrators said they would conduct what they called a climate review of Winthrop House.

00:32:45.000 In recent weeks, tensions have escalated, with a student sit-in and a lawsuit sparked by a clash between one of the protest leaders and two Winthrop House staff members who are seen as supporting Mr. Sullivan.

00:32:55.000 So, these so-called snowflakes at Harvard were complaining because a lawyer was defending a client.

00:33:01.000 So this is the way that it works.

00:33:02.000 Now, as y'all know, I went to Harvard Law School.

00:33:04.000 One of the more prominent professors there was Alan Dershowitz.

00:33:08.000 Alan Dershowitz defended O.J.

00:33:09.000 Simpson.

00:33:10.000 Not only were there no protests at Harvard Law for years, ever, I was at an event where Alan Dershowitz personally auctioned off a signed exercise bicycle from O.J.

00:33:19.000 Simpson.

00:33:21.000 And no one cared.

00:33:22.000 No one cared.

00:33:23.000 He's a lawyer.

00:33:24.000 You know what lawyers do? 0.62

00:33:25.000 They often defend clients.

00:33:27.000 And they often defend clients who are accused and are guilty.

00:33:31.000 John Adams was famously one of the first Harvard Law students.

00:33:34.000 And John Adams, or at least an early Harvard Law student, and John Adams defended the British in the Boston Massacre.

00:33:40.000 I guess now this would get him kicked out of Harvard Law.

00:33:44.000 When I talk about people who are snowflakes, what I mean is people who cannot handle an opposing philosophical or political position.

00:33:51.000 And these folks who are snowflakes at Harvard who cannot handle somebody?

00:33:55.000 I don't even agree. 1.00

00:33:56.000 Harvey Weinstein's a piece of crap. 1.00

00:33:58.000 He's an evil human being. 1.00

00:34:00.000 But a lawyer defending him, that's not a reason to de-platform somebody at Harvard and go graffiti Winthrop House. 0.99

00:34:07.000 The fact that Harvard caves to this is despicable.

00:34:09.000 On Saturday, the dean of Harvard College, Rakesh Khurana, sent an email to students and staff members at Winthrop House informing them he would not renew the appointments of Mr. Sullivan and Ms.

00:34:18.000 Robinson as faculty deans after their terms end on June 30th.

00:34:21.000 Mr. Khurana said in an email that his decision was informed by a number of considerations.

00:34:25.000 Over the past few weeks, students and staff have continued to communicate concerns about the climate in Winthrop House to the college, he wrote.

00:34:31.000 The concerns expressed have been serious and numerous.

00:34:34.000 The actions that have been taken to improve the climate have been ineffective.

00:34:37.000 The noticeable lack of faculty dean presence during critical moments has further deteriorated the climate in the house.

00:34:42.000 I have concluded that the situation in the house is untenable.

00:34:44.000 Okay, this is the heckler's veto.

00:34:45.000 This is a bunch of people who were whining that Sullivan was being a lawyer and his wife was being a lawyer.

00:34:52.000 And now, they're being de-platformed.

00:34:54.000 They're being fired from a position, effectively, because they're acting as lawyers for somebody that people don't like.

00:35:00.000 Pretty incredible.

00:35:02.000 Sullivan and Robinson said, quote, we are surprised and dismayed by the action Harvard announced today.

00:35:06.000 We believe the discussions we are having with a high-level university representative are progressing in a positive manner, but Harvard unilaterally ended those talks.

00:35:13.000 He says, we will now take some time to process Harvard's actions and consider our options.

00:35:17.000 We are sorry that Harvard's actions and the controversy surrounding us has contributed to the stress on Winthrop students at this already stressful time.

00:35:25.000 The controversy highlighted a conflict between the legal principle that every accused person demands a vigorous defense This is mob rule.

00:35:31.000 This truly is mob rule.

00:35:32.000 college officials show support for victims of sexual assault.

00:35:34.000 Whose side are you on, demanded one of the spray-painted messages directed at Mr. Sullivan earlier this year.

00:35:39.000 This is mob rule.

00:35:40.000 This truly is mob rule.

00:35:41.000 We have a legal process for determining guilt and innocence in the country.

00:35:45.000 A lawyer providing defense to a client is not an excuse for suggesting that, I mean, this is basically a lynch mob mentality, that you are going to go after the lawyer of a person that you want to see punished, And I want to see punished, and we all want to see punished.

00:36:02.000 Does not mean that the lawyer himself is doing something evil or wrong.

00:36:07.000 I mean, to cave to these sort of woke scolds is so bad for Harvard and so bad for typical liberals.

00:36:12.000 You don't have to be a conservative to believe this.

00:36:14.000 I am sure that both Sullivan and his wife, Robinson, I'm sure that both of them oppose me on politics thoroughly.

00:36:22.000 I'm pretty confident of that.

00:36:23.000 But that does not matter.

00:36:25.000 The basic principle, which is that you don't get rid of people because they are acting as lawyers for somebody that you oppose, this is an astonishing thing.

00:36:32.000 52 professors at the law school signed a letter supporting Sullivan, saying his commitment to representing unpopular clients was fully consistent with his roles as law professor and faculty dean.

00:36:41.000 At the same time, the dispute took on a racial element, with some saying that Sullivan was being treated unfairly.

00:36:47.000 The Harvard Black Law Students Association criticized the decision.

00:36:51.000 Sullivan himself said that it may have been a racial thing.

00:36:54.000 I doubt it's a racial thing.

00:36:55.000 My guess is that it is just a left thing.

00:36:58.000 But the fact that this is even a controversy is pretty amazing.

00:37:01.000 OK, now we're going to get to the woke scolds in Congress.

00:37:04.000 So again, it is amazing what the Democratic Party is willing to allow in Congress.

00:37:08.000 The radicalization of the Democratic Party continues apace. 0.95

00:37:12.000 So we have been told over and over and over again that Mike Pence is an evil religious bigot, that his wife is an evil religious bigot for teaching at a traditional Christian school. 1.00

00:37:21.000 We have been told that Catholics are bigots, that Orthodox Jews are bigots. 0.99

00:37:25.000 We have been told that virtually everybody who happens to be traditional in their religious practices is a bigot, except if you are a radical Muslim. 0.92

00:37:35.000 If you're a radical Muslim, then you are a minority that ought to be given all benefit of the doubt and not questioned at all about your convictions, which is how you end up with Imam Omar Suleiman, the Akin Institute for Islamic Research head, giving the invocation in Congress. 0.79

00:37:50.000 I'm going to tell you something about this imam in one second. 0.98

00:37:53.000 This imam endorsed by the Democrats gave the invocation the other day.

00:37:56.000 Peace, not war.

00:37:58.000 love not hate Benevolence, not greed.

00:38:04.000 Unity, not division.

00:38:07.000 And we commit ourselves to not betraying our prayers with actions that contradict them.

00:38:12.000 Let us not be deterred by the hatred that has claimed the lives of innocent worshippers across the world, but emboldened by the love that gathered them together to remember you, And gathered us together to remember them.

00:38:26.000 May we honor one another.

00:38:28.000 Glorify you together.

00:38:30.000 So, this imam was invited to give the prayer by Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson.

00:38:35.000 Now, the invitation itself by Democrats says something about the Democrats.

00:38:38.000 He has every right to give the invitation if he is invited.

00:38:41.000 The fact that Democrats invited him is pretty phenomenal.

00:38:44.000 The reason that it is phenomenal is because this guy happens to routinely give virulently anti-Israel statements.

00:38:50.000 He referred to Israel as an apartheid state.

00:38:52.000 He called for a violent Palestinian uprising.

00:38:54.000 In 2014, according to the Washington Examiner, on his verified Facebook account, Suleiman called for another intifada.

00:39:00.000 That would be a violent uprising against Israel.

00:39:02.000 Usually that ends with the murder of innocents in Israel.

00:39:05.000 For the first time since 1967, Masjid al-Aqsa is closed.

00:39:08.000 A third intifada is near, inshallah.

00:39:10.000 Meaning with Allah's will.

00:39:16.000 He constantly refers to Israel's military operations as massacres.

00:39:22.000 In a July 2014 post, he posted a meme accusing Israel of carrying on genocide.

00:39:27.000 Okay, it is not, in fact, a genocide.

00:39:28.000 If there were a genocide taking place against the Palestinians, it is the least successful genocide in the history of the world, considering the radical increase in the number of Palestinians who are living in these territories.

00:39:38.000 Suleiman, of course, has been a defender of Representative Ilhan Omar.

00:39:42.000 He said, I'm not feeling the I know she said some hurtful stuff messages.

00:39:45.000 She never accused American Jews of double loyalty or used anti anti and any anti-Semitic words, of course, which is a lie.

00:39:50.000 And Omar, of course, retweeted Suleyman's invocation.

00:39:55.000 The radicalism of the Democratic Party extends, of course, to Rashida Tlaib, who made a statement on a podcast the other day that is so astonishing in its radical dishonesty that is worth talking about.

00:40:07.000 So she said this, quote, Okay, well that's always an interesting beginning to a sentence.

00:40:15.000 A calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports, and just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews post the Holocaust, post the tragedy, the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at the time.

00:40:36.000 I love the fact it was my ancestors that provided that right in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.

00:40:43.000 All of this is such a lie.

00:40:44.000 Like, all of it is a lie.

00:40:46.000 So, to suggest that the Jewish connection with the land of Israel is only post-Holocaust is simple nonsense.

00:40:53.000 I mean, it's just nonsense.

00:40:54.000 The Jewish presence in the land of Israel has been consistent for about 3,000 years.

00:40:59.000 Also, the idea that Israel was created in the wake of the Holocaust because of the Holocaust is, again, simple nonsense.

00:41:06.000 The Balfour Declaration in 1917, three decades preceding the Holocaust, The British government supported the establishment of a Jewish state in the area.

00:41:14.000 The Arabs in the area rejected it.

00:41:16.000 That Jewish state, by the way, was supposed to include Jordan as well.

00:41:19.000 In 1937, the British Peel Commission proposed a two-state solution.

00:41:24.000 Also, this notion that the Palestinians were trying to provide a home for Jews, not only is untrue, it is a blatant lie.

00:41:30.000 The head of the Palestinians at that time was a man named Haj, was a man named Amin al-Husseini.

00:41:39.000 Hey, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Amin al-Husseini, he met with Adolf Hitler.

00:41:43.000 He was an ally of the Nazis. 0.70

00:41:45.000 He specifically asked if Adolf Hitler would make the final solution applicable in the Middle East.

00:41:50.000 He routinely incited violence against the Jews.

00:41:53.000 He was one of the leaders of the Arab war against the Jews in 1948 at the establishment of the state of Israel.

00:41:59.000 The official proclamation of the group led by Husseini said, quote, we appeal in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months to the Arab inhabitants of the state of Israel to preserve peace.

00:42:09.000 This is when the official proclamation of the state of Israel, rather, they said that they were asking for peace.

00:42:14.000 They said they were asking for the Arab citizens to stay.

00:42:16.000 They asked people not to flee their homes, not to take up arms.

00:42:19.000 So every element of what Rashida Tlaib says here is just a lie.

00:42:23.000 The notion that the Arabs provided a safe haven for Jews, they were bombing British targets and trying to murder Jews in an attempt to keep the Jews out. 0.61

00:42:31.000 One of the reasons that the British would not allow more Jews into Israel in the midst of the Holocaust was to please the Arabs who were living in the area at the time and were lobbying against it.

00:42:40.000 So all of this is just a lie. 0.64

00:42:41.000 Rashida Tlaib is a liar, but whenever you quote her, this is very bad. 0.89

00:42:45.000 You can't quote her. 0.96

00:42:46.000 So she tweeted out, Believe me, lady, I'm not trying to silence you.

00:42:48.000 That's why I'm quoting you.

00:42:48.000 Vile attacks on me will not work.

00:42:50.000 All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably.

00:42:52.000 Believe me, lady, I'm not trying to silence you.

00:42:54.000 That's why I'm quoting you.

00:42:55.000 She says, I'll never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda.

00:42:59.000 The truth will always win.

00:43:00.000 I agree the truth will always win, which is why people are quoting you, Rashida Tlaib.

00:43:04.000 I mean, she's going to like she can't explain any of that.

00:43:08.000 The Democratic Party, of course, will ignore all of this.

00:43:11.000 The good news is that she's not the only woke member of Congress.

00:43:13.000 My favorite woke member of Congress over the weekend actually was AOC as always.

00:43:18.000 So the the estimable AOC intellectual heavyweight.

00:43:21.000 She tweeted out over the weekend that we should tax the rich and then said, quote, So in other words, she means, when we say taxing the rich, people I don't like.

00:43:27.000 No way that goes wrong.

00:43:28.000 For-profit prison rich.

00:43:29.000 Betsy DeVos, student loan shark rich. 1.00

00:43:31.000 Trick the country into war rich.

00:43:33.000 Subsidizing workforce with food stamps rich.

00:43:35.000 Because that kind of rich is simply not good for society and it's like 10 people.

00:43:38.000 So in other words, she means when we say taxing the rich, people I don't like.

00:43:43.000 No way that goes wrong.

00:43:45.000 Giving the left the power to tax people that they politically disagree with and don't like.

00:43:48.000 That is the essence of the rule of men, not law.

00:43:52.000 That is the essence of tyranny.

00:43:53.000 I don't like this person.

00:43:54.000 Therefore, I'm going to tax them.

00:43:56.000 It's not gonna be an equally applicable law.

00:43:57.000 It's just gonna apply to Betsy DeVos. 1.00

00:43:59.000 That's it.

00:44:01.000 Man, the left continues to grow more and more radical by the day, and it is a frightening prospect for sure.

00:44:08.000 Okay, time for some things I like, and then some things that I hate.

00:44:11.000 So, things that I like.

00:44:12.000 Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to read a new book that is pretty fresh, I think it's out in the last month and a half or so, by Tyler Cohen.

00:44:21.000 The book is called Big Business, A Love Letter to an American Antihero, and the book is really great.

00:44:25.000 The book basically Pushes the idea that big business is not in fact bad for America and many of the lies told by critics of big business are just that.

00:44:33.000 They are in fact lies.

00:44:35.000 And that is true.

00:44:37.000 It is true.

00:44:38.000 The book is well worth the read.

00:44:39.000 It goes through a lot of myths told about big business, including the idea that they are monopolizing American industry, including the idea that CEOs are paid wildly too much, including the idea that big business is somehow worse qualitatively than small business, or that workers are treated worse by big business than small business.

00:44:55.000 There are a lot of myths that get busted here.

00:44:57.000 I don't agree with Tyler Cohen about everything, but there's a lot of stuff that I do agree with.

00:45:00.000 The book is called Big Business, A Love Letter to an American Antihero.

00:45:02.000 Worth reading at a time when big business is seriously under attack.

00:45:08.000 Okay, time for a bevy of things that I hate.

00:45:14.000 Alrighty, so apparently parents are naming their kids after Game of Thrones characters.

00:45:20.000 Do not do this.

00:45:21.000 Do not do this, particularly before you know how the plot's gonna go.

00:45:23.000 It turns out that there are a bunch of people who have been born in the last year named Khaleesi.

00:45:32.000 Guys, did you see last night's episode?

00:45:34.000 That's a bad move.

00:45:36.000 There were a bunch of people who named their kid Daenerys.

00:45:40.000 Apparently, Arya is about 2,500 people.

00:45:45.000 Khaleesi, 560.

00:45:48.000 Yara, Greyjoy, 434.

00:45:51.000 Lyanna, so apparently it's a lot of women who are naming their girls. 1.00

00:45:55.000 They're all girl names. 0.99

00:45:55.000 Shae, you named your kid after a prostitute? 0.99

00:46:00.000 Renly Baratheon, 102 people named their kids Renly. 0.69

00:46:04.000 So they named their kids after a younger brother who doesn't have a claim to the throne and gets killed in season one.

00:46:10.000 Apparently 58 named their kids Tyrion.

00:46:13.000 30 named their kids Jorah.

00:46:16.000 11 named their kids Gregor.

00:46:18.000 Like after the, I assume not the German name.

00:46:22.000 11 named their kids Gregor.

00:46:24.000 After the mountain.

00:46:26.000 Who is one of the worst kids, one of the worst people.

00:46:29.000 15 people named their kid Ramsay.

00:46:31.000 As in Ramsay Bolton, the worst character in Game of Thrones, most evil character in Game of Thrones.

00:46:37.000 Fourteen named their kid Theon.

00:46:38.000 How would you like to be that Theon?

00:46:41.000 Really, how long do you think it takes for the kid's nickname to reek?

00:46:44.000 Five minutes?

00:46:45.000 Ten minutes? 1.00

00:46:47.000 Really amazing that people are so stupid. 1.00

00:46:52.000 As I say, the fact that 560 people named their kid Khaleesi is pretty fantastic. 1.00

00:46:56.000 Okay, this leads to my review of the last episode of Game of Thrones.

00:46:59.000 So, spoiler alert.

00:47:00.000 If you have not watched the last episode of Game of Thrones, because it's the last season and it's a cultural phenomenon, I've basically been reviewing every episode.

00:47:06.000 My reviews tend to cut against the grain.

00:47:08.000 So, I was not a big fan of the battle at Winterfell.

00:47:10.000 It was shot through a potato, I couldn't see anything.

00:47:12.000 And nobody of import died.

00:47:14.000 But it's time for last night's episode.

00:47:17.000 So, overall...

00:47:19.000 I loved it.

00:47:20.000 Overall, I really liked it.

00:47:20.000 So, I liked it because it was a return to the season one sensibility that life is random, people can get killed at any time.

00:47:28.000 I'm gonna give you the things I like about it, and then I'll give you the things I hate about it.

00:47:31.000 So, the things that I liked about it, the portrayal of Jon and Tyrion is spot on.

00:47:36.000 Jon has been acting like Ned Stark, like Robb Stark.

00:47:39.000 He's been a Stark.

00:47:40.000 The fact is, he knew he was the best guy for the throne.

00:47:43.000 He decided to deliberately blind himself to that out of his self-interest at not being the guy who leads.

00:47:49.000 And that cowardice led to a million people dying in King's Landing.

00:47:53.000 Because Varys, as I said, was right.

00:47:55.000 Varys, always the smartest guy on the show.

00:47:58.000 And not only did Jon allow him to get fried, and this is a character shift for Jon.

00:48:03.000 I mean, Jon's showing some serious cowardice here.

00:48:05.000 Jon is the guy who put the king beyond the wall, Mance Rayder.

00:48:13.000 He tried to save his life, and then he put him out of his misery when he was being executed.

00:48:17.000 Okay, he did all of that because he thought that the killing of Mance Rayder was actually a bad idea.

00:48:22.000 Jon has consistently been against the killing of people who are potential allies.

00:48:26.000 Varys is a potential ally.

00:48:28.000 Okay, the fact that he goes along with Dany frying Varys is pretty telling of Jon and the fact that he knows what Dany is after having seen that.

00:48:38.000 is pretty amazing.

00:48:39.000 So, Jon is not going to end up on the Iron Throne.

00:48:42.000 The mistakes that he's made are too grave.

00:48:44.000 He cannot end up on the Iron Throne at this point, and that's great. 0.97

00:48:47.000 Tyrion, exposed as the total fool that he has been for several seasons now, Varys tells him what to do.

00:48:52.000 Tyrion not only doesn't go along with it, he then rats on Varys to Daenerys, knowing what Daenerys is about to do, and knowing that Jon has a better claim to the throne. 0.87

00:49:01.000 And this is the episode after he made a specific appeal to Cersei's morality, which made no sense at all. 0.89

00:49:08.000 So Tyrion is exposed as being a fool and he deserves exactly what is coming to him because that foolishness has consequences for the million people plus living in King's Landing. 0.89

00:49:17.000 So that was the best part of the show. 0.94

00:49:19.000 By the way, the person who is now the favorite to take the Iron Throne has got to be Sansa, right?

00:49:24.000 She's the only person who has not committed some sort of grave moral sin here, and also has been smart enough to understand what Dani was.

00:49:31.000 Hey, now, the portrayal of Dani?

00:49:33.000 Here's my big problem.

00:49:34.000 Everybody knew Dani was going to turn. 0.98

00:49:36.000 They did obviously create the feeling that she was going to turn.

00:49:40.000 And that was right.

00:49:41.000 I mean, she had been abandoned by all her advisors.

00:49:43.000 Many of her advisors were now attempting to stab her in the back.

00:49:46.000 The ones who are loyal to her are now dead.

00:49:49.000 All of that is perfectly fine.

00:49:51.000 Her decision to nuke the city doesn't make any sense.

00:49:54.000 It doesn't make any sense because she's never seen the populations of the city in which she lives.

00:49:59.000 as enemies and she's seen the slavers at enemies in marine she has seen the she even when the people basically turn on her she doesn't loose the dragons to murder all the people that's not something that she does the fact that she turns on the people of king's landing is is not only a shock it's an unnecessary shock like she could have turned in a different way like for example let's say that last night after the bells start to ring she the surrender has been had

00:50:27.000 she goes to the red keep and she nukes the red keep right she takes care of of cersei she kills cersei and and And then, and she does so in such a brutal fashion that Arya and Jon decide they have to take her out.

00:50:41.000 She tries to burn Jon out of anger.

00:50:44.000 All that would have made sense.

00:50:45.000 The fact that she nukes the entire city is never properly explained.

00:50:48.000 You can see that Benioff and Weiss really don't have a great explanation for it.

00:50:51.000 In the post-show talk about why she did that, they're like, well, in that moment, she sees that here's the place where her ancestors, that her ancestors built, and she's so mad and she's so alone that she decides to what, kill a bunch of children?

00:51:03.000 He's never been in Dany's character, so you could have had her snap in a way that makes a little bit more sense.

00:51:09.000 Like, it makes even Cersei's blowing up of the temple small by comparison.

00:51:16.000 So Dany doing this and becoming the most evil character in the entire series, which that is.

00:51:20.000 I mean, no one else nukes the entire city.

00:51:23.000 That is a turn that was unnecessary in order for her to be enough of a threat that she had to be gotten rid of, for example. 0.99

00:51:30.000 That was a problem.

00:51:31.000 So now we've gotten to the stuff I don't like.

00:51:33.000 The move to have Jaime basically become what he was at the beginning of season one, and then the battle with Euron Greyjoy is completely worthless.

00:51:42.000 There is no reason that Euron has to fight Jaime.

00:51:43.000 That's not even fan service.

00:51:45.000 Nobody was looking for that.

00:51:47.000 Euron could have been burned on the boat.

00:51:48.000 Everybody would have been fine with that.

00:51:49.000 By the way, speaking of the burning of the city, The build-up to two of her dragons get taken down and the third is just invincible.

00:51:55.000 Why are they only firing one arrow at the dragon at a time?

00:51:57.000 Weren't they firing hundreds of arrows at the dragon at the time?

00:52:00.000 The bolts at the dragon?

00:52:01.000 Like, why wouldn't they do that?

00:52:03.000 It doesn't make a lot of sense.

00:52:04.000 To make it com... To be so anticlimactic that she just nukes the city with no opposition whatsoever, with one dragon? 1.00

00:52:10.000 is a pretty astonishing move.

00:52:12.000 And I understand they wanted to do the unexpected, but it's so abrupt that you end up with this giant buildup and then effectively a giant letdown.

00:52:20.000 You'd expect Cersei to put up some sort of resistance.

00:52:22.000 So that was, so in any case, back to the Euron-Jamie thing.

00:52:26.000 The Euron-Jamie fight, completely unnecessary. 0.99

00:52:29.000 Euron is a crap character. 0.99

00:52:30.000 He's always been a crap character. 1.00

00:52:32.000 So, the fact that he's the guy who stabs Jaime makes no sense. 0.99

00:52:34.000 And then, the fact that Jaime basically walks off to killing wounds.

00:52:37.000 He's just kind of strolling around afterward.

00:52:39.000 You didn't need that battle.

00:52:40.000 Let's just say that Jaime gets into the Red Keep, finds Cersei, and they both die in the basement, basically.

00:52:47.000 Why do you need to be wounded by Euron?

00:52:49.000 Euron didn't need a send-off.

00:52:50.000 No one cared what happened to Euron.

00:52:52.000 They're just gonna go back and work at Zara's anyway.

00:52:53.000 Who cares?

00:52:54.000 So that's the, you know, so that I thought.

00:52:57.000 The twist on Jaime I didn't think was great.

00:53:00.000 You know, I think everybody kind of wanted the moment where Jaime realized what Cersei was instead of him just going back to her.

00:53:07.000 And then her finally being vulnerable at the end of the show is again, I thought, a weird move.

00:53:12.000 So the Jaime-Cersei kind of full circle thing Wasn't a huge fan of that.

00:53:17.000 I know everybody was into Cleganebowl, but honestly, not into Cleganebowl.

00:53:23.000 The best part of Cleganebowl is just when Cersei's hand just gets wiped off the map in one second.

00:53:28.000 That part's the best part.

00:53:30.000 But the whole, he's a zombie, I'm gonna jump into the fire. 0.88

00:53:33.000 Okay, fine.

00:53:33.000 I understand fan service and all that.

00:53:35.000 Cleganebowl 2019.

00:53:37.000 So, but overall, overall the idea that Arya is helpless in the face of the dragon, good.

00:53:41.000 The idea that Jon and Tyrion made a huge mistake, good.

00:53:45.000 The fact that Dany loses it and that she turns, good. 0.96

00:53:48.000 So, I'm much more pleased at this season of Game of Thrones than I was at the last season.

00:53:53.000 My predictions for the final episode?

00:53:55.000 I think that Arya is now going to have to sneak in and try to kill Dany. 0.97

00:54:01.000 I think Arya will die.

00:54:02.000 I think they've kept her alive for too long.

00:54:04.000 She doesn't have a story arc beyond the show.

00:54:07.000 So if they have guts, they will kill Arya, which probably means they'll keep her alive. 0.77

00:54:10.000 But Jon cannot end up as king. 0.84

00:54:11.000 Dany will die.

00:54:13.000 Tyrion has to pay some price for being a terrible advisor.

00:54:18.000 And so I think that the most likely scenario at this point is Sansa.

00:54:20.000 So Sansa coming riding in on the outside.

00:54:22.000 And that makes sense, because the entire sensibility of the show is Sansa's sensibility, which is moving from this fantasy world where everything works out great to being the cynical leader necessary to do all of this.

00:54:32.000 By the way, I thought that Dany's turn was played well, specifically until she nuked the city, because she had turned from this aspirational leader into a hardcore leader.

00:54:41.000 Like, it makes sense from her perspective.

00:54:42.000 Nuking Varys makes perfect sense from her perspective. 0.88

00:54:45.000 Her saying to Tyrion, listen, I'm not going to lose the city.

00:54:47.000 Just to lose the city just for the sake of humanity.

00:54:50.000 That makes sense from her perspective.

00:54:51.000 It's evil, but it makes sense from her perspective, obviously.

00:54:54.000 So, all of it makes sense except for nuking the city, which is a step too far.

00:54:59.000 Alrighty, so, I think with that review of Game of Thrones, we can end the show.

00:55:02.000 We'll be back here later today for two more hours, or we'll see you here tomorrow.

00:55:33.000 Hey everyone, I'm Andrew Klavan, host of The Andrew Klavan Show.

00:55:36.000 Alyssa Milano is staging a sex strike to protest anti-abortion bills.

00:55:41.000 But of course, if you're on a sex strike, you're not going to need an abortion, so the problem is solved.

00:55:45.000 You know, when it comes to abortion, when it comes to the Constitution, when it comes to free speech, conservatives are talking about principle, but all the left wants is power.

00:55:54.000 We will talk about it on The Andrew Klavan Show.
