00:00:13.240 Le prochain chef, Andrew Scheer.
00:00:30.000 Thank you so much. Merci beaucoup.
00:01:00.000 Merci beaucoup. Merci beaucoup. Thank you so much.
00:01:21.400 What a race this has been.
00:01:24.440 This makes a 78-day campaign look like a walk in the park.
00:01:30.000 First of all, a few thank yous.
00:01:36.740 To my wife, Jill.
00:01:45.240 I mean, there aren't enough words to describe the support that she has given me,
00:01:50.020 the sacrifices I've asked her to make,
00:01:52.060 and the fact that she's stood by my side this entire time
00:01:54.720 is the greatest honor I've ever had in my life.
00:02:00.000 And my kids, Thomas, Grace, Maddie, Henry, and Mary.
00:02:10.400 That's it so far.
00:02:14.040 All the sacrifices that they've made too.
00:02:16.160 The fact that they've allowed me to do this.
00:02:17.580 Thank you to my kids.
00:02:28.280 To my amazing campaign, my supporters and volunteers, thank you.
00:02:32.720 You have all worked so tirelessly, and this win is because of your work,
00:02:45.380 your efforts, your belief not just in me,
00:02:48.800 but in our conservative vision for Canada.
00:02:51.320 I want to pay a special and ask for a big round of applause.
00:03:21.300 A great campaign, a campaign of ideas that he believes in very fervently
00:03:35.860 and has helped grow in this movement, and to all my fellow candidates.
00:03:52.240 You know, these past many months have seen us crisscross the entire country,
00:03:57.240 making our pitches to Canadians.
00:03:59.420 It has meant time away from your families and your everyday lives.
00:04:03.720 What a sacrifice this has been for all of you.
00:04:06.480 I respect each and every one of you.
00:04:08.380 I thank you for what you've done for the party.
00:04:10.860 We have all grown because of your hard work.
00:04:12.760 You have each brought your passion and what you believe in to the center stage.
00:04:27.700 You have made this a campaign of ideas,
00:04:30.140 and I plan to ensure that the very best of those ideas are carried on
00:04:34.240 and put forward and help us win in 2019.
00:04:36.680 Now, to Ronna Ambrose.
00:04:52.680 Ronna.
00:04:54.080 You know, many interim leaders, you know,
00:04:57.040 might have been just content to merely just try to keep the party together
00:05:00.640 and on its feet after 2015.
00:05:03.780 But your stewardship of our party has been incredible these past 18 months.
00:05:08.580 Our membership has grown.
00:05:10.720 Our fundraising is strong.
00:05:12.840 Our caucus is united.
00:05:14.600 And you have been leading our team,
00:05:16.020 holding Justin Trudeau's Liberals to account every single day,
00:05:19.500 whether he shows up or not.
00:05:20.640 Thank you for your leadership and for your service to our party and to Canada.
00:05:46.400 I know that I have very big shoes to fill, Ronna.
00:06:05.500 Well, not physically very big, but very stylish.
00:06:09.580 And I'd like to thank Stephen Harper.
00:06:15.940 Thank you for your support.
00:06:45.920 A man whose leadership I enjoyed working under
00:06:50.880 and a man who will always stand tall in the conservative movement.
00:07:01.560 His principal position allowed Canada to stand tall on the world stage with our allies.
00:07:06.860 And he set an example of what it is to fight for conservative values,
00:07:14.400 both in Canada and around the world.
00:07:16.740 And to my extended family.
00:07:26.800 My dad is here with me tonight.
00:07:29.300 Unfortunately, I lost my mom through the campaign,
00:07:33.500 and I want to thank each and every one of you who sent your best wishes to me.
00:07:36.840 I want to thank my aunts and uncles, my cousins all across the GTA are here with me tonight.
00:07:40.560 And I thank you for all the support you've given me as well.
00:07:42.720 Now, today, the work starts.
00:07:56.320 We know that conservative solutions are the best answer to the issues of which our party is confronted.
00:08:03.660 To all Canadians from coast to coast, the next Conservative government will always be
00:08:16.200 looking for new ways to make life more affordable by cutting your taxes, making it easier for
00:08:22.160 the private sector to create jobs.
00:08:30.420 And we will end the liberal policies that make it harder to start new businesses, make
00:08:35.680 life more expensive for families, and that punish hard work and success.
00:08:40.180 During the campaign, I had the chance to visit several regions from Canada and here in Quebec,
00:08:54.180 whether it be at Warwick, in Baie-Saint-Paul, in Saint-Hyacinthe, in Montreal, or in Quebec.
00:10:30.740 Conservatives have, and always will be, the party of prosperity, not envy.
00:10:41.960 The party that always represents taxpayers, not connected Ottawa insiders.
00:10:53.600 And we are the party that believes that there is more to society than just government.
00:11:02.960 Trudeau's Liberals are so focused on photo ops and selfies that they don't care if their
00:11:12.760 policies hurt and not help the middle class.
00:11:16.720 Sunny ways don't pay the bills.
00:11:19.480 And given what's gone on in Ottawa, I think that forecast for sunny ways was like so many
00:11:28.640 other weather forecasts that we've seen.
00:11:31.480 But I guess it's always sunny in the Caribbean.
00:11:34.240 And to my fellow Canadians, there is a better way.
00:11:48.240 A system that rewards hard work and success which benefits all Canadians.
00:11:53.960 As Prime Minister, I will focus on results with conservative policies that create prosperity
00:11:59.400 and provide opportunities for every single Canadian.
00:12:17.620 I believe in fiscal responsibility when it comes to taxpayers' money.
00:12:21.060 Which is why I will bring us back to balance budgets and end corporate welfare.
00:12:31.740 We have to get a grip on this out of control spending.
00:12:34.900 It's not fair to future generations of Canadians.
00:12:38.620 And one of the things that has motivated me so much in this campaign is the very strong
00:12:43.660 belief that I cannot allow Justin Trudeau to do the same thing to my five children that
00:12:49.760 his father did to my generation.
00:13:02.360 And there's going to be so much work to do.
00:13:25.080 The liberal carbon tax is nothing more than a cash grab.
00:13:32.360 I will repeal it.
00:13:41.160 And I'll go further by scrapping the GST or HST from home heating electricity.
00:13:53.160 Because only a liberal would think that in Canada, heating your home in the winter is
00:13:57.300 a luxury.
00:14:00.300 And I will always defend the right of any province which does not want to impose Justin Trudeau's
00:14:07.300 job campaign.
00:14:08.100 And I will always defend the right of any province which does not want to impose Justin Trudeau's
00:14:13.300 job-killing carbon tax on its people.
00:14:23.100 And I will always defend the right of any province which does not want to impose Justin Trudeau's
00:14:30.100 job-killing carbon tax on its people.
00:14:32.900 I believe that the foundation of our democracy is the ability to have a debate about any
00:14:48.700 subject.
00:14:49.700 That is why I am so committed to defending free speech.
00:15:03.700 I will withhold federal grants from universities that shut down debate and can't stand different
00:15:10.700 points of view.
00:15:11.700 And there are threats here at home but there are so many around the world.
00:15:17.700 And I believe that radical Islamic terrorism is a threat to every single Canadian.
00:15:24.700 Which is why I will recommit our air force to the fight against ISIS.
00:16:01.700 I believe that Islamic terrorism is a threat to all Canadians, and that's why I'm going
00:16:08.700 to do so that we will fight against the Islamic State again.
00:16:16.700 Now, to all Conservatives, those who have been members for decades, and those who have
00:16:25.700 just recently joined our movement, every single kind of Conservative is welcome in this party,
00:16:30.700 and this party belongs to all of you.
00:16:45.700 We all know what it looks like when Conservatives are divided.
00:16:49.700 We will not let that happen again.
00:16:52.700 We win when we are united.
00:16:55.700 Throughout this campaign, all the leadership candidates, and I have so much respect for
00:16:59.700 each and every one of them, all the leadership candidates working independently, grew this
00:17:04.700 party to the biggest it's ever been in history.
00:17:14.700 Now imagine what we will do when we are all working together.
00:17:19.700 We can't afford four other years with Justin Trudeau.
00:17:32.700 Canadians cannot afford four more years of Justin Trudeau.
00:17:38.700 But I'm here to tell you that there is renewed hope for Canada starting today.
00:17:51.700 I'm here to tell you that the pain and hardship that the Trudeau Liberals are causing Canadians
00:17:58.700 is just temporary.
00:18:00.700 There is hope because Conservatives are united.
00:18:04.700 Because we are positive, because we are strong, and because we have principled Conservative values,
00:18:09.700 and because we are all working together.
00:18:11.700 Tous ensemble to win in 2019.
00:18:14.700 Let's get started.
