00:00:00.000 hello and welcome to another exciting at least i hope it is exciting edition of fake news friday
00:00:16.560 on this friday november 18th just uh how many weeks until christmas now i don't want to get
00:00:22.740 people too nervous i think we're five fake news fridays away from christmas so take from that
00:00:27.560 what you will hopefully you can make it to the end of the episode before you rush out to the toy store
00:00:31.860 to buy whatever you need but it's been a bit of a busy week the public order emergency commission
00:00:37.240 has concluded we've had foreign junkets a go-go for justin trudeau but how was the week in your
00:00:43.740 view harrison another one for the records well the problem with the public order emergency commission
00:00:48.580 andrew the emergencies act inquiry is that when there's not a good exciting witness it really is
00:00:53.740 boring to get through it's very repetitive very slow but then when justin trudeau gets humiliated
00:00:59.440 by xi jinping the entire world erupts the story dominates headlines and basically it has it has
00:01:05.780 given us plenty of fodder for fake news friday so i'm quite looking forward to getting into some of
00:01:10.580 the reactions the comparisons between canadian headlines international headlines and yeah i mean
00:01:15.320 when you see that it just it it kind of reminds you exactly where canada is in the pecking order and
00:01:20.320 frankly how how the rest of the world looks at canada it's it's quite disappointing but for us
00:01:24.680 at least it gives us something fun to talk about i was just like asking how are you and you just went
00:01:29.800 into like this like grand treatise on canada and the world which is good we're getting down to brass
00:01:34.960 tax here i know it's great i was i was about to give you the sir this is a wendy's but i actually
00:01:40.400 liked what you had to say so i i rolled with it here uh let's get right into it though because the the
00:01:45.260 big news this week was of course the uh lecture if you will perhaps the dressing down depending on
00:01:52.020 how you refer to it of justin trudeau by chairman xi jinping
00:01:56.740 everything we discussed is leaked to the peso that's not appropriate
00:02:02.820 and that's not all the way the conversation was
00:02:08.840 if there is
00:02:16.800 if there is i believe in your free and open and frank dialogue and that is what we will continue to
00:02:25.140 have we will continue to work constructively together but there will be things we will disagree on
00:02:30.420 let's create the conditions first
00:02:35.640 a little bit of an awkward one they seem to be at one of those events where you're just supposed
00:02:54.960 to be glad handing shaking hands saying oh have you tried this crimpietto that lobster roll was great
00:03:00.360 and instead chairman xi is telling trudeau that he doesn't like the fact that news was leaked
00:03:05.520 of what they discussed in their meeting now so far as i can tell what he's referring to
00:03:10.540 is the call summary that the prime minister's office sends out after pretty much every bilateral
00:03:16.360 conversation so i i don't know if he's talking about anything else beyond that that i haven't seen
00:03:22.560 but the reality is this is not exactly a stellar direction diplomatically between two countries now
00:03:30.620 i am not going to as i said on my show yesterday take chairman xi's side just to own the libs i i think
00:03:36.340 that canada should be taking a tougher position on china and should be getting under their skin but
00:03:41.440 what's bugged me here is the fact that chairman xi is doing this because he sees a weakness in canada
00:03:48.100 and i don't think canada is doing anything to push back against this and i i just want to give you a
00:03:54.580 sense first off of how the media has covered this because in canada this has played very differently
00:04:01.280 than it has in media elsewhere ctv has a headline berated and agitated what's being said about trudeau's
00:04:09.540 g20 exchange with chinese president xi and they say oh xi expressed his displeasure with trudeau over
00:04:16.220 details of what the pair discussed in a brief meeting this week being leaked and then you also
00:04:22.160 have the cnn version of it which i find quite interesting china's xi jinping lectures justin trudeau
00:04:29.380 over alleged leaks so a little bit more of a tougher position on this from the international press well this
00:04:35.840 is exactly what you get andrew when you pay off the media what you've what you've kind of got here is
00:04:40.760 a bit of a mirroring act you've got canadian legacy media who are essentially paid off by justin trudeau
00:04:45.920 and and puff justin trudeau up as though he's some great world leader doing some sort of mirroring act
00:04:50.720 of their chinese of their chinese counterparts the chinese uh propaganda outlets and i just find that
00:04:56.780 funny because on ratioed we discussed some of the differences between international headlines
00:05:01.440 and canadian headlines and i also i made this point that whenever there's a china related
00:05:05.580 story it's always fun to go and check out what the chinese propaganda outlets are saying what is
00:05:10.200 what is the south china morning post saying about it what is the global times saying about it and
00:05:14.620 and yeah it's i mean basically it's exactly that it's it's this idea that we need to basically just
00:05:19.680 pretend as though justin trudeau is this is a strong world leader no matter what the rest of the
00:05:24.200 world is saying no matter what the english press and you know in the american press are saying about
00:05:28.640 justin trudeau we have to make sure that justin trudeau looks like a strong leader in in an
00:05:33.260 interaction which clearly makes him look very weak i mean when i first saw it i have to say my first
00:05:38.920 interaction was you kind of see xi jinping not even really really looking at trudeau in the eyes
00:05:43.260 and you see justin trudeau kind of standing there but then then when you watch it again you watch it a
00:05:47.740 few more times you you really see that there's one man in charge and one man basically taking all
00:05:52.340 the heat and justin trudeau is doing that weird finger holding posture bowing his head to xi jinping
00:05:57.520 and then at the end xi jinping gives him like the handshake to say get lost get out of here
00:06:01.720 and justin trudeau scurries off away into the bathroom i mean the look couldn't be worse it
00:06:06.340 really didn't look didn't look good on justin trudeau's part and i have to say there was one
00:06:10.840 there was one headline that i read from the uk from the mirror that i just thought really really
00:06:16.300 kind of paints the picture of the difference between canadian legacy media legacy media that
00:06:21.300 is bought off by trudeau to basically propagandize on his behalf and then the rest of the world this is
00:06:26.160 the way the mirror wrote it xi jinping humiliates justin trudeau in devastating public dressing down
00:06:31.440 so absolutely the the the contrast couldn't be clearer andrew this is what you get when you pay
00:06:37.180 off the media you get puffed up headlines no matter what happens no matter how bad you look on camera
00:06:41.920 yeah i mean the one that really annoyed me was the toronto star op-ed xi jinping's scolding shows that
00:06:49.240 justin trudeau is doing his job so he's actually the real winner of this now that was written by susan
00:06:55.560 delacorte who i i disagree with on a lot politically but i i always have enjoyed my chats with susan she's a
00:07:01.280 lovely woman i i don't think she's i can't agree with her conclusion on this one because the whole
00:07:06.620 point of if you are going to get under china's skin is that there's a difference between doing it in a
00:07:12.700 way that is constructive and doing it in a way that's not i don't think he was getting under china's
00:07:18.220 skin in any meaningful way i think he was like a little gnat that uh xi jinping wanted to swat away
00:07:23.400 and that i think is not exactly putting canada on strong footing when they're going toe-to-toe and
00:07:28.620 taking on the politburo and the reason i think this is quite important for people to pay attention
00:07:34.820 to here is because whenever there is like a g20 summit you see kind of the battle lines be redrawn
00:07:43.260 a little bit and then when you're at un summits all of a sudden the tough talk on china goes to the
00:07:47.900 back burner because oh well there are partners in climate and it was like john carey shaking maduro's
00:07:53.320 hand at the charmel shake at cop 27 and charmel shake yeah this guy was like uh you know the grand
00:07:58.960 dictator that we don't recognize as the leader but oh if he says he wants to drop co2 emissions yeah
00:08:03.120 welcome aboard sir good to see you and i think that's the problem is that justin trudeau just
00:08:07.980 wants to be in the club internationally and i don't think he's doing a very good job at uh holding
00:08:13.780 china to account and it's not even like his appeasement has done all that much for us no not at all
00:08:19.520 and there's there is something to be said about the fact that at this point if you're a canadian
00:08:24.100 leader and you're not standing up for canada and you're not making it very clear that the the way
00:08:28.920 that china is engaging in this country the way that they're meddling they're they're putting spies in
00:08:33.300 canadian energy companies like at hydro quebec where they're funding 11 candidates in our elections and
00:08:37.920 and trying to interfere in our in our government you have to stand up to that you have to draw a line
00:08:43.140 and say enough is enough but then again you don't want to be caught out being embarrassed and
00:08:47.340 humiliated it's like the old saying and you never meet your heroes because sometimes you might get
00:08:51.420 exposed to it but in this case justin trudeau met his hero and in fact he was humiliated and ashamed
00:08:56.080 by xi jinping yep from hero to zero i'll keep my day job never mind there we go but anyway another
00:09:03.760 thing that's worth mentioning is the fact that xi jinping has sort of stepped out of character at this
00:09:09.080 g20 xi jinping has been holding meetings with a bunch of these world leaders he's of course he did a
00:09:13.640 big meeting with joe biden he met with emmanuel macron i think he met with with rishi sunak as
00:09:18.060 well but interestingly he didn't offer that same meeting to canada we know that the canada china
00:09:23.260 relations are pretty bad right now but he did however have time to meet with the argentinian
00:09:27.580 president i made the point that the fact is if justin trudeau can't get a meeting with xi jinping
00:09:32.120 but xi jinping wants to meet with the argentinian president that speaks volumes about where canada is
00:09:36.820 right now and the way the world sees canada and yeah i mean if you just look just look at that
00:09:40.820 interaction xi jinping is looking down at justin trudeau wanting to get out of the conversation
00:09:45.480 because it's not even worth his time but at the same point the point does stand that if justin
00:09:49.940 trudeau is not standing up to china if justin trudeau is not saying enough is enough this is
00:09:54.240 completely unacceptable then in a way he really isn't doing his job but there's ways to do it
00:09:58.840 and there's ways not to do it and i think we basically saw exactly how not to do it and it's
00:10:03.600 pretty embarrassing for justin trudeau i have to say the one the one thing just before we move on from
00:10:08.360 this that i found amusing there was a fair bit of like zapruder like analysis on this and how
00:10:12.840 justin trudeau started talking uh as the translator hadn't even translated what uh xi had said now it's
00:10:19.420 possible that justin trudeau speaks mandarin i have no evidence of this uh so i'm going to assume though
00:10:23.660 he didn't know what the what had what the guy had said and he just like went right to talking points
00:10:28.340 anyway that was that was the great thing so it's like he's just like no matter what he says the
00:10:33.660 talking points are going to be the same so might as well just cut out the translation and uh speak
00:10:38.320 only in talking points it'll be a lot more efficient uh let's move on here uh to another
00:10:43.520 development on the global scene this past week as i mentioned there was the uh junket in cambodia
00:10:50.140 then there was the g20 in bali so lots happening this week and then of course we had news on the
00:10:56.920 ukraine front but i want to talk about the g20 takeaway here which if you ask ctv all of the 20
00:11:06.740 most powerful world leaders got together people like chairman g people like chancellor olaf schultz
00:11:13.640 people like rishi sunak the president of the european commission all of these people with massive
00:11:19.560 economies they got together and at the end of it what did they do they ended the summit with pledges
00:11:26.160 aligned with the trudeau government's agenda hmm maybe we've been getting it all wrong maybe it's
00:11:33.620 not the un pulling the strings it's not klaus schwab pulling the strings maybe justin trudeau is the
00:11:38.800 puppet master behind the new world order do you buy into this that all of these people that they
00:11:44.660 magically came around to justin trudeau's position by the end of this meeting yes after justin trudeau's
00:11:50.200 humiliation from xi jinping all these world leaders andrew they wanted to including xi jinping by the way
00:11:56.060 exactly exactly so yes xi jinping has aligned china with canada and justin trudeau's mission
00:12:01.560 because they all say to themselves now what is justin doing we have to make sure that the sun we
00:12:06.520 all orbit around justin trudeau whatever he's doing we better not be out of step with the great
00:12:11.500 powerful canada we all know that's exactly what needs to be done now very conspicuously andrew this
00:12:16.880 article from the ctv came out right after the world was laughing at justin trudeau the world was
00:12:22.680 dunking on justin trudeau for that embarrassing performance it's almost as if andrew justin
00:12:26.620 trudeau's ego was so badly hurt so badly damaged by being embarrassed in front of the world that
00:12:31.340 the legacy media needed to puff him up a little bit give him give him a little victory something
00:12:35.500 that he can take home to canada and say look guys the rest of the world they're orbiting around canada
00:12:39.820 they they want to make sure they're in line with us and the best part about this is you read the
00:12:44.480 article there's no mention about that at all they just say that the rest of the world are talking
00:12:49.500 about are basically talking about the same thing justin trudeau is talking about not aligning their
00:12:53.980 agendas with justin trudeau it's it's classic classic canadian legacy media and it 100 deserves a
00:12:59.760 spot on the show no yeah this is like you know i got a coffee this morning and around the world
00:13:06.800 people have drank andrew lawton's chosen breakfast beverage for the morning and it's like oh wow yeah
00:13:13.520 i'm fairly influential i have a coffee everyone else does it's like the epitome of just seeing where
00:13:18.740 everyone's going so you can like get in front of them to lead them yeah and also when you look at
00:13:23.160 the article what's hilarious about it is you you read the article you open it up you see the headline
00:13:27.180 you think okay well maybe there's something maybe we've got this all wrong like you said and then the
00:13:31.200 very top video in the article is the video of xi jinping dressing down justin trudeau like they
00:13:36.720 they have they have that right right below the headline which says basically the the justin trudeau is
00:13:42.660 the sun that the rest of the world orbits around and you look at it again you look at the article
00:13:46.880 there's not one mention andrew of the fact that the rest of the world that you know has rishi sunak
00:13:52.100 pledged to be just like canada has has emmanuel macron pledged to be just like canada no in fact
00:13:57.480 all they're talking about is the ukraine uh ukraine poland russia missile uh conversation that's
00:14:04.360 basically all that all that this is about and it's so obvious they said look we can't allow our dear
00:14:08.940 leader to be hit so badly to be to be hurt so bad after his horrible performance at the g20 we have to
00:14:15.020 give him something to uh to take home we have to give him something to write home about about his
00:14:19.440 victory and uh pretty pathetic i have to say yeah it reminds me of that great story in bloomberg around
00:14:26.080 the time of one of the g7s i can't remember it was two years ago or so when uh justin trudeau's
00:14:31.720 uh staffers have been like going around telling everyone that uh with angela merkel resigning justin
00:14:37.420 trudeau is going to be the new dean of the g7 and everyone was like yeah yeah we're good we're good
00:14:42.320 but thank you so uh but on the g20 he's managed apparently to uh bring the whole thing into it
00:14:48.320 and he has also started a brewing buddy comedy style bromance with the new prime minister of the
00:14:54.900 united kingdom rishi sunak now uh the two of them have apparently been hitting it off there was this
00:15:00.340 photo of them having a nice little dinner in a casual eatery and then there was this video where the
00:15:05.600 two of them expressed their support to the ukrainian president volodymyr zelensky
00:15:10.800 hello volodymyr it's rishi and justin i really wanted you to hear from us as friends we absolutely
00:15:22.360 know how difficult yesterday was it was horrific for you and your country and we have called it out
00:15:30.000 in the session that we've just had uh and on the media here this morning and we made that point
00:15:36.120 loud and clear to the to everyone who was here that what your country had to live through yesterday
00:15:42.540 was unacceptable and represented yet more barbarity from the russians we stood united in condemning it
00:15:51.160 rishi and i really wanted to to reach out to reassure you uh to show you we're standing with you
00:15:56.480 uh and to say we're gonna we're gonna uh figure out this uh step by step all together thank you
00:16:02.040 volodymyr talk to you soon now i just before we get into the just how cringeworthy that was
00:16:08.600 let me say how bizarre i find it that they're sharing this like conversation they took place
00:16:14.700 uh that took place between them and zelensky and not heard anywhere is zelensky so it's like
00:16:19.980 they could just be talking into a voice memo on their phone for all i know well it wouldn't be that
00:16:24.500 surprising right andrew if the drama teacher was just making it all up if it was all just a big
00:16:28.620 skit but i gotta say the best part about that is the accent that justin trudeau puts on the
00:16:32.920 the ukrainian accent when he says hello volodymyr it's rishi and justin and then and then they and
00:16:40.220 then it's like one of those bad editing jobs like when you've got like a a bad intern trying to put
00:16:44.820 together a quick video for for their boss like a quickly edited jump cut full video where they
00:16:50.040 basically say we're here to talk to you and then they cut in as friends and then they cut back but
00:16:54.780 they had to cut the part as friends in there it's from start to finish it is an absolute joke i wrote
00:17:00.920 on twitter how is this actually real and again this has to get through enough people for it to be put
00:17:06.240 out and published by 10 downing street the official uk prime minister uh twitter account as some sort of
00:17:13.080 video to say look at these two strong world leaders talking to vladimir zelensky using a fake
00:17:18.080 accent to talk to vladimir zelensky but don't make sure you don't hear anything that zelensky has to
00:17:22.440 say there's not like oh thanks for calling guys really appreciate it thanks for calling friends
00:17:26.480 none of that just the just the absolute cringe fest you you need to start doing the trudeau accent so
00:17:32.340 you don't call him vladimir it's volodymyr volodymyr volodymyr zelensky as friends we're your
00:17:39.460 friends and that by the way that was not me making fun of volodymyr zelensky's accent that was me
00:17:43.680 making fun of the fake uh justin trudeau accent just so no one like accuses me of uh ukrainophobia
00:17:49.060 or anything like no no of course not of course not let's uh do we want to end on our lighter note
00:17:55.060 i'm trying to remember what else we had going on today let's do it let's do the poec the uh the
00:17:59.480 toronto star headline for what we're missing from the public order emergency commission you've heard
00:18:04.360 a lot but we're missing something really key andrew in the emergencies act committee and apparently
00:18:09.820 from the toronto star what we're missing from the emergencies act committee is the fact that racism
00:18:15.480 and hatred are not being discussed as threats to national security interesting so there's an article
00:18:21.800 here by written by amira el gawabi and she's a columnist at the toronto star and in it she basically
00:18:28.220 says that although we just heard from evidence at the commission that ceases has told the told the
00:18:33.020 cabinet that there was no threat to national security under section two of the ceases act pretty key
00:18:38.100 there is that's one of the central requirements for the government to invoke the emergencies act
00:18:42.160 but no security threat no national security threat we hear from cesus but then again perhaps as amira
00:18:48.560 al-gawabi writes there's a different there's a different interpretation for what a national security
00:18:53.180 threat is and for her the fact that there was not any discussion of racism and hate indicates that
00:18:59.660 actually there was a national security threat andrew so we've got it all wrong the emergencies act
00:19:04.200 must be invoked if we think that racism and hate are taking place it is clearly a threat to national
00:19:10.220 security yeah the big line here is perhaps we have different interpretations of what security means
00:19:16.580 and for who it's supposed to be for i believe she means to say for whom it's supposed to be or perhaps if
00:19:23.360 you want to play fast and loose with grammar whom it's supposed to be for either way the line is that
00:19:28.280 she is effectively experiencing national security differently than we are so take from that what
00:19:35.040 you will i listen i think racism is atrocious i think anti-semitism is lamophobia anti-black racism i
00:19:41.560 think any form of bigotry is wrong and i don't think that we should go down this road in society
00:19:47.740 of equating morally wrong with illegal and trying to criminalize wrong think which is what a lot of
00:19:54.180 people who do not fundamentally support free speech are trying to do here the fact that people may
00:19:59.260 have had and by the way i i dispute wholeheartedly her characterization of these things as ubiquitous in
00:20:04.920 the convoy but even if there were a few people that had very unpleasant or unsavory views about race
00:20:10.860 that does not equate to a national emergency in any way whatsoever legal or otherwise no and just
00:20:18.380 could it be possible could it be possible here that the toronto star is pushing this message
00:20:23.720 and actually there wasn't any real evidence of of of hatred and racism but it's just someone's again
00:20:30.060 it's just someone's interpretation it's not like the toronto star has ever gotten anything wrong about
00:20:34.080 the convoy before right it's just exactly like you said andrew it's not a national security threat
00:20:39.080 we can't just say that because of this because someone interprets it differently because someone
00:20:43.840 has a different interpretation of national security well then the the emergency act was justified
00:20:48.480 basically quashing a peaceful lawful protest was justified i mean again it's just classic
00:20:55.160 classic toronto star they're reaching here because as we've seen from the emergencies act commission
00:20:59.780 every single justification that the government has used for the emergencies act has been whittled down
00:21:05.320 to nothing but just basically hearsay there's every time a law enforcement officer has come up to
00:21:10.880 testify the main legs for the argument for the government to invoke the emergencies act get knocked out from
00:21:16.440 under them every single time so now we're reaching to the point where we have to reach so far andrew
00:21:21.360 that actually it was the racism that was alleged to have taken place which again we don't have really
00:21:25.880 much evidence for other than the the the very brief sighting of the swastika and the confederate flag
00:21:32.320 which still to this day i have to say have not been fully investigated other than that there's been
00:21:37.660 really no no evidence to prove that this was what it was it's just someone's someone's interpretation of it
00:21:44.240 when they're when they feel as though the entire justification is slipping away from them classic
00:21:48.420 from the toronto star yeah very much so and this actually does segue into the lighter story we wanted
00:21:55.300 to end on because if you really want to tackle racism if you really want to tackle a lack of inclusivity
00:22:01.240 you have to go right to the source of this and i'm talking of course about crosswords
00:22:06.580 am i reading this right crossword puzzles are everywhere but how inclusive are the bylines and
00:22:16.440 clues and let's play a game i like to call guess the canadian media outlets
00:22:20.780 cbc bingo it was kind of a toss-up between them and the toronto star but cbc has taken aim at the
00:22:29.400 crossword because there is a lack of inclusion now i am the in-house crossword expert for
00:22:36.560 true north i i mean no one assigned me this title i've just sort of claimed it so i apologize to any
00:22:41.120 of my colleagues if they're as obsessed with crosswords as i am i do the new york times i
00:22:45.160 occasionally do the times of london i'm not great at the cryptics but i try absolutely love crosswords
00:22:51.060 i even at one point submitted one to the new york times they didn't publish it but i tried so i like
00:22:57.340 crosswords and i have never once while i've done a crossword been struggling with the lack of
00:23:02.300 inclusivity but apparently it's been an issue that's been going on for quite some time as one
00:23:08.440 crossword designer says when you only have puzzles that represent a certain kind of topic or are only
00:23:14.720 of interest to straight white men a lot of people won't see themselves reflected in the grid i think
00:23:21.000 crosswords are only of interest to straight white men because other people have lives we're boring
00:23:25.420 let us have our crosswords for crying out loud no no andrew you can't get it but you see that's
00:23:29.740 exactly why the crosswords aren't inclusive it's because people like you are the ones that are only
00:23:35.360 doing them we need to open it up we need to make it more inclusive for the rest of the rest of society
00:23:40.580 i just find this so so hilarious it was i don't do crosswords i have to say i have a life uh but i when
00:23:48.760 i did read this i thought to myself stone cold when i did read this i thought to myself well again this
00:23:55.180 this might this might be in our in our yearly uh yearly fake news friday award show andrew which
00:23:59.960 speaking of we're getting close to christmas you hinted at it at the top we are going to have to do
00:24:03.720 some sort of award show and uh we're going to be highlighting the very best of the year in fake
00:24:08.920 news and i i wouldn't be surprised if this makes it into the list this is what this is what the uh this
00:24:14.480 is what deborah rainwright writes in the cbc article or is quoted as saying in the cbc article very hard
00:24:19.960 hitting journalism real real important stuff from the cbc this is what we pay them for she writes
00:24:24.740 someone decides what words get in what's part of the clues and in doing that they're deciding what
00:24:29.840 should be common knowledge for every one of us andrew andrew that's why you can't be the one you
00:24:33.580 can't be the one writing these crosswords you can't be submitting them and in fact it's probably time
00:24:37.560 that you you step back and let others have their go at the crosswords that's really what's going on we
00:24:42.720 need to change the target market and then we'll open it all up to the rest of rest of society
00:24:47.860 i i should say by the way this wasn't just the cbc news article cbc actually ran a documentary
00:24:54.500 a couple of weeks ago about this called a cross and down which is a great title but they found that
00:25:00.020 women indigenous black and queer identifying people have been almost invisible in crossword puzzles so
00:25:07.540 i here's the thing i i've already admitted that i have no life i do the crosswords for the new york
00:25:12.240 times fairly religiously but the interesting thing is the new york times has a crossword blog
00:25:17.840 every day that comes out that has some commentary on the crosswords and every now and then i'll read
00:25:23.520 that if you know i'm interested in the theme or whatever if you want to have a very good time and
00:25:28.500 i'm playing fast and loose with good and time you can see the comments on this and you get oftentimes
00:25:34.200 these little like woke fights when people don't like that a certain word was said or they don't like
00:25:39.260 that a certain word was used like one time the answer to the crossword clue was non-pc as in not
00:25:45.300 politically correct and everyone was like why are we vilifying political correctness political
00:25:49.180 correctness is great there was another time where it was 45th president and the answer was trump and
00:25:55.080 so i was like why do i have to see that name in my crossword like so people are getting triggered by
00:25:59.660 crosswords so maybe i am just being insensitive so andrew it's this is this just i've just thought of
00:26:04.820 this now maybe if the cbc the globe and mail new york times they all want to shift woke they're going
00:26:10.900 to open up the market for new new crosswords that can be made in fact we can make a true north crossword
00:26:16.740 that is just chock full of politically incorrect terms conservative terms and just designed exclusively
00:26:23.820 for people who are you know being being uh you know being left behind by the changing world of
00:26:29.760 crosswords who knew that there was a whole world andrew i didn't know there were blog posts
00:26:33.160 documentaries and whole you know philosophical debates about what gets put into crosswords fascinating
00:26:39.280 you got to sharpen that pencil and get to it harrison this has been a another edition of fake news
00:26:44.940 friday you can catch harrison faulkner on ratioed every week and you can catch me on
00:26:49.580 the uncreatively titled andrew lawton show and i do hope you do both
