Justin Trudeau calls the unvaccinated racist, misogynistic extremists.
00:00:05.060
Meanwhile, Canada goes into lockdown again, proving once and for all that vaccine mandates
00:00:09.660
do not work. I'm Candace Malcolm, and this is The Candace Malcolm Show.
00:00:17.360
Hi, everyone. Thank you so much for tuning into the program. Thank you so much for joining us
00:00:21.580
today. And I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Christmas holiday. I hope you had
00:00:25.340
the opportunity to spend some time with your family, with loved ones. And I hope that all
00:00:29.580
of the craziness around COVID and the lockdowns didn't disrupt your Christmas holiday too much
00:00:35.360
at my household. My son, who's two years old, got COVID. He came down with COVID, and we sort of did
00:00:40.680
our best to make sure that he didn't infect the baby. We have a one-year-old as well, and making
00:00:45.860
sure that we could still sort of carry on. But it was definitely a low-key Christmas. We basically
00:00:50.780
barely left the house other than just to go for little walks here and there. But it was nice as
00:00:55.280
well. We got to just really reconnect with the family and spend lots and lots of time with the
00:00:59.040
kids. I mentioned this on social media, but I deleted all of my work-related apps from my phone.
00:01:05.780
So I didn't have any sort of distractions from social media. I was able to read a lot, spend a
00:01:11.260
lot of time with the kids and with my family. So I'm very grateful for that opportunity. And we're
00:01:16.380
back now. Happy 2022 as well. And we're ready to dive back into the world of journalism, to bring you
00:01:22.680
the Candace Malcolm Show every single day, to bring you hard-hitting journalism here at True
00:01:27.740
North. We did a fantastic, fantastic month in December with fundraising. Our team just absolutely
00:01:34.100
knocked it out of the ballpark. Our True North audience really, really dug deep, and we were able
00:01:38.620
to raise over $250,000 in the month of December. It's unbelievable. Totally unprecedented for
00:01:45.560
organization. The type of growth that we're seeing, it's really exciting. I think the Canadians just
00:01:49.940
really want to have independent journalism. They don't trust the legacy media. They don't trust
00:01:55.000
the stories that are being pushed out. True North does an incredible job. Our team of reporters and
00:01:59.420
investigative journalists do a great job of not just telling the other side of the story, but also
00:02:03.780
finding stories that aren't being reported by the legacy media, showing a different angle,
00:02:08.100
talking about things that the media isn't, breaking apart a lot of that groupthink and the sort of
00:02:13.720
political propaganda that you get from legacy media. So people appreciate it. We really appreciate our
00:02:18.640
audience. We love our audience at True North, and 2022 is just going to be a fantastic year for us.
00:02:23.460
So I really appreciate everyone out there who continues to support the Candace Malcolm Show,
00:02:27.880
True North, support our efforts, our journalism. Anyone out there that's listening who made a donation,
00:02:32.520
made a contribution, thank you. Thank you so much. It's just really exciting what we're building and
00:02:36.940
what we're able to do with the tremendous support that we have out there. All right, so two stories
00:02:42.740
that I want to get to on the podcast today, the first one is the big story, the big news story of
00:02:47.960
the day. Ontario announced yesterday that we are once again going into lockdown, as my colleague
00:02:52.200
Anthony Fury put it, it's two weeks to flatten the curve. Once again, two years later, and we are back
00:02:56.940
to score one, back with the exact same public policy solution that we had two years ago when we knew
00:03:01.280
nothing about COVID, and that is everybody just stay inside, lock down, we're not going to have
00:03:05.300
anything open, and we're going to try to hopefully curb the spread of COVID. So Ontario closes schools
00:03:11.220
until January 17th, bans indoor dining and cuts capacity limits. So Ontario announced sweeping new
00:03:17.140
restrictions that will see schools closed to in-person learning until at least January 17th,
00:03:22.200
a ban on indoor dining, gyms shuttered, and capacity limits put in place for retail as COVID-19 cases soar
00:03:28.340
in the province. The new restrictions, which also include slashing gathering limits to five people
00:03:33.300
indoors and 10 people outdoors, comes into place on January 5th and will be in place for 21 days,
00:03:38.600
the government announced Monday. So no, not two weeks to flatten the curve, three weeks this time.
00:03:43.400
And Ford says that it took him 30 seconds to make the decision. Here's what that looked like.
00:03:50.760
You know, this took me about 30 seconds to make a decision. It was a decisive decision. And we're going
00:03:57.320
to make sure that we go through this and be as cautious as possible and use every tool in our
00:04:04.280
toolbox to sustain not only our health care, but our economy as well.
00:04:10.040
Well, it's good to know that Premier Ford is really thinking it through, really putting a lot of thought
00:04:14.360
and energy, 30 seconds to make a decision to completely, completely destroy the economy once
00:04:19.240
again, close small businesses, people losing their job, the severity of this lockdown. And it took
00:04:25.320
the Premier 30 seconds to make the decision. What a disgrace. What a joke. While Ontario is not alone,
00:04:30.920
Quebec has also imposed new rules, imposing a curfew because, because everyone knows that COVID strikes
00:04:36.840
at night, that COVID is more dangerous at night. After 10 PM, it just becomes way more viral and you'll
00:04:41.960
get way more sick. So, so, so that's the justification apparently over in Quebec that you have to have a
00:04:46.760
curfew. Otherwise, more people get COVID, try to make sense of that. Restaurants are closing as well
00:04:53.480
and further delays to return to schools. So, Quebec did it first and British Columbia is right there
00:04:59.080
as well. We reported on this over the holiday that they banned dancing and partying on New Year's Eve
00:05:04.280
and Christmas. They put all kinds of restrictions in as well over the holidays. So, here we have indoor
00:05:08.760
organized gatherings of any size or not allowed. This includes gatherings like New Year's Eve parties,
00:05:13.480
wedding receptions, and other celebrations. Indoor events at venues can only have 50% capacity.
00:05:18.600
That includes events like concerts, sports, and movies. Bars and nightclubs are closed. Restaurants,
00:05:23.400
cafes, and pubs can only have a maximum of six people per table and must use physical distance
00:05:29.320
and barriers between table. Indoor adult exercise, fitness, and dance activities are not permitted.
00:05:35.640
So, all of this is because Omicron is here, because it spreads, because a lot of people are going to
00:05:40.840
catch COVID. And now, I just want to read you, this is the way that it is being reported in Ontario. So,
00:05:45.880
so we're supposed to believe, basically, the thinking is that Omicron spreads a lot. It's very
00:05:50.520
mild. It doesn't impact people as much in the severe ways as the previous variants, as Delta
00:05:55.960
and the previous variant. However, just a sheer number of people getting COVID will lead to more
00:06:00.520
hospitalizations. They estimate that about 1,000 people who get COVID will end up in the hospital.
00:06:05.960
And so, if all these people are catching COVID, so the thinking goes that the hospitals will soon
00:06:10.760
get overrun. But let's just pause for a moment and look at the actual numbers, because I think
00:06:14.360
the numbers are incredibly important. And they paint a picture that just shows that this is basically
00:06:18.840
just all complete hysteria. Okay. The province says that there are 1,117 people in hospital as a
00:06:25.320
result of COVID-19. Health officials reported that there were 1,300 hospitalizations with the virus on
00:06:32.200
Saturday. Okay. So we have about 1,300 people in the hospital. Of that, the ICU admissions
00:06:38.120
continue to rise. So, so 224 people are in the hospital, in the ICU, in critical care because of
00:06:44.600
COVID. A week ago, there were 168 ICU patients. The seven-day rolling average of patients in the ICU
00:06:51.240
sits just under 200. According to the Ontario Hospital Association, 112 patients with COVID are on
00:06:58.360
a ventilator. So keep those numbers in mind. Okay. We have a rolling average of about 200 people
00:07:03.800
in the ICU in Ontario. Okay. Let's, let's have some facts here. This was the ICU usage in previous
00:07:10.360
waves. And this is according to the Ontario science table, which is the authority that Doug Ford relies
00:07:15.160
on. These are the people who give us the information and basically tell us what to do. And as you know,
00:07:19.640
they're very, very pro lockdown. Okay. So these are their numbers. Okay. So the peak number of patients in
00:07:24.920
the ICU with COVID related illnesses during the first wave. So this is April 12th, 2020 was 283
00:07:31.240
patients. Next, the peak in wave two, which was January 15th, 2021, almost a year ago, there were
00:07:36.440
450 patients in the ICU, 450. Keep in mind, the rolling average right now is just under 200. And the
00:07:44.440
peak of wave three, which was April 30th, 2021 was 940 patients in the ICU. So, so, so, so, so what we're
00:07:53.080
talking about right now is a fraction of what we have been through and what we've lived through.
00:07:58.120
So the idea that we're locking down now, because we have almost 200 people on average in the ICU,
00:08:03.720
when at the peak, we had nearly a thousand people in the ICU, just begs the question,
00:08:07.960
how is the hospital capacity has gone down? Hospital capacity has gone down. We can't even
00:08:13.160
absorb as many people in the hospital and in the ICU as we could seven, eight months ago. It makes
00:08:18.520
no sense. This is just pure, pure hysteria. So we know that Omicron is more mild compared to
00:08:24.600
earlier strains. All of the data that we see out there show that it is, it spreads faster. It's,
00:08:29.720
it's more viral. However, the impact is less. This is over in the national post. Ford is inflicting
00:08:34.760
pandemic pain, but offering little gain data shows that about 1% of those infected with Omicron will
00:08:40.040
end up in the hospital. Although few of those will need the ICUs. So we're using the most blunt tool
00:08:45.160
that we have in the political toolbox, shutting down the entire economy once again. And yet we're
00:08:49.880
dealing with a strain that isn't even as deadly as before. And as I just demonstrated, the ICU
00:08:56.120
capacity is nowhere near as full as it was seven, eight months ago during the second wave or during
00:09:01.320
the third wave. So again, the politics are completely ignoring the science and the facts here. So in
00:09:06.840
preparing for the show, we're looking for ways to just quantify how much more mild the Omicron variant
00:09:12.760
is compared to previous strains, Delta and the initial strain. And you know, one of the interesting
00:09:18.600
things that you see is that the media will report a single death, a single Omicron death as news. So
00:09:24.600
here we see CTV reporting its first Omicron related death in Kingston, Ontario. Okay. We're looking at
00:09:30.680
a disease that over the past two years has killed scores and scores of Canadians, tens of thousands of
00:09:35.240
people, upwards of 20,000 killed millions of people worldwide. And yet a single death from the
00:09:40.440
Omicron variant makes the news. It is a front page story when one person dies, which goes to show you
00:09:45.880
that that is not deadly. It's not killing people in the same way that previous waves were. Of course,
00:09:51.640
we don't know if there are comorbidities or what the real cause of death in this case is. We just
00:09:55.560
know that the person who died also had COVID and it was also confirmed to be the Omicron case. Even the
00:10:00.120
Globe and Mail here is reporting as COVID-19 cases rise, Ontario studies suggest that Omicron is less
00:10:05.800
severe. So it says in the study, public health Ontario compared Omicron cases with symptoms
00:10:11.080
that emerged between November 22nd and December 17th with Delta cases and found that after adjusting
00:10:16.040
for vaccination status and region, the risk of hospitalization or death was 54% lower with
00:10:22.360
Omicron. The agency says Omicron appears to be the first dominant variant to show a decline in severity,
00:10:28.280
but warned that due to its higher transmissibility, the absolute number of hospitalizations and impact
00:10:33.560
on healthcare is likely to be significant despite reduced severity. So this is good news. This is
00:10:40.040
all a good news story. It's telling us that COVID is mutating and each mutation is getting less
00:10:45.560
deadly. That's what you want. Eventually, you just want her mentality. You want everyone to have had it
00:10:49.720
to build up the natural immunities and or build up immunities through the vaccine, if that's what you
00:10:54.840
choose to do. And that way we'll be able to fight against it and it won't be a pandemic any longer.
00:11:00.520
But rather than seeing this as a good news story, instead, it's like doom and gloom,
00:11:04.040
end of the world. So many people are getting it. We've got to lock down. We've got to shut down
00:11:07.400
the entire economy, which just shows you the mindset of the politicians and legacy media.
00:11:11.800
They just want to go, go, go, go, go and push doom and gloom until the end of time.
00:11:16.440
Meanwhile, Omicron is subsiding in South Africa. So South Africa, as you know, is where the
00:11:21.000
Omicron variant originated. That's where we first saw it. Well, the good news over there is that
00:11:25.880
Omicron has passed its peak in South Africa, causing relatively few deaths and hospitalizations,
00:11:30.920
according to authorities down there. This is in the Washington Post. It says South Africa appears
00:11:35.720
to have passed the peak of Omicron variant driven fourth coronavirus wave. The country's
00:11:40.280
cabinet announced Thursday, adding that there were only a marginal increase in fatalities,
00:11:44.120
which remained low compared to previous spikes. The number of infections fell by roughly 30%,
00:11:49.320
just under 90,000 for the week ending in December 25th, Christmas, down from some 127,000 in the
00:11:55.720
prior corresponding period. Government data show the number of hospital admissions has also been
00:12:00.840
significantly lower over the past one and a half weeks. The country's medical system has capacity
00:12:05.960
to provide routine health services. Authorities said in a statement Thursday, adding that the
00:12:10.280
government would roll back certain pandemic control measures. And this is reiterated by the
00:12:15.160
World Health Organization who said that Omicron spreads, but severe cases remain low in South
00:12:19.480
Africa. And finally, Bloomberg, this is really interesting. Omicron may cut Delta infections,
00:12:25.160
South African study shows. So if you're infected with Omicron, it could actually protect you. It
00:12:30.600
gives you strengthened immunity against other more deadly strains, including Delta. So if you get
00:12:36.600
Omicron, in some ways it's a good thing because then you're more protected. You have more antibodies.
00:12:40.760
Your body's able to fight off the original more deadly and more painful COVID strain in Delta.
00:12:46.600
So there's a couple big takeaways from all of this. I think the first one is at this point,
00:12:50.760
I think that Canadians should universally demand better from our healthcare system. Our healthcare
00:12:55.320
system is rigid, centrally planned, limited capacity, limited funding. It does not offer the
00:13:01.480
flexibility that we need to get through the pandemic. This is completely obvious to anyone paying
00:13:05.320
attention that we just don't have the flexibility needed to deal with a pandemic, to deal with surges,
00:13:10.760
in the hospitalization rates and the need for ICU capacity. Part of the reason that Canada doesn't
00:13:16.200
have a Florida where we don't have a Ron DeSantos, we don't have a politician willing to just say,
00:13:21.000
you know what, we're not going to lock down. We're not going to take these drastic measures.
00:13:24.040
And you know, Florida is being rewarded for that. A million people moved to Florida last year.
00:13:28.040
Canada doesn't have that because we don't have the healthcare system. We don't have the healthcare
00:13:31.240
system to be able to absorb these kind of shocks. I think at this point, two years into the pandemic,
00:13:36.840
it's time for more people to start talking about this. It's time to see some political courage.
00:13:40.200
It's time to see more conservatives standing up for the idea that our healthcare system needs
00:13:44.840
major reform. Now's a great time to do it. Here's what my colleague Andrew Lawton wrote
00:13:48.840
over on Twitter. He said, if after two years of COVID, the hospital system is still facing an
00:13:53.480
existential threat, perhaps we should stop listening to the people in charge of that system. That is
00:13:58.040
absolutely right. Now is the opportunity for change. And I wish that more people would champion
00:14:02.520
this cause and just say enough is enough. We don't want to have this limited rigid system anymore.
00:14:07.480
And, and the second big takeaway is that vaccine passports do not work. This whole idea that all
00:14:13.560
we have to do is get everyone vaccinated and then we'll be able to go back to life as usual,
00:14:17.560
that all of the places that you want to go to, as long as you're vaccinated and you're willing to
00:14:21.320
show the government, this piece of ID saying that you're vaccinated, you can have a normal life and,
00:14:25.960
and that everything will go back to normal. That has been proven completely wrong. Once again,
00:14:30.120
Andrew Lawton makes his point over on Twitter. He says, any government that shuts down sectors in
00:14:34.600
which a vaccine passport was previously mandated is admitting the vaccine passports did nothing.
00:14:39.800
That's absolutely correct. They don't work. They don't work because if they did work,
00:14:42.440
we wouldn't have to shut down again. This is a fatal conceit. All the politicians right now,
00:14:46.920
Doug Ford, Quebec, Justin Trudeau, by locking down, they are simply admitting that their scheme,
00:14:52.840
their unconstitutional scheme of, of having this vaccine passport, these vaccine mandates,
00:14:57.800
it doesn't work. It doesn't work because if it did work, we wouldn't be where we are. Okay,
00:15:02.120
let's talk about Justin Trudeau. Let's talk about Justin Trudeau because it seems like he's sort of
00:15:05.640
coming undone. Here is what Trudeau tweeted on New Year's Day. He said, get your first shot,
00:15:12.040
get your second shot, get your booster, get your kids vaccinated, and let's get out of this pandemic
00:15:17.000
for good. So again, reiterating this idea that all you have to do is get vaccinated,
00:15:20.600
vaccinate yourself, get jabbed over and over again, get your little kids vaccinated,
00:15:24.680
and we will get back to normal, pushing this idea that vaccinations will end the pandemic.
00:15:29.240
That's not true. It's not true because most people are vaccinated right now. And here we are
00:15:33.320
going into another wave. We know that a lot of people who have been vaccinated are still catching
00:15:38.040
COVID. They're still, I mean, how many stories have you heard of people that you know, people in your
00:15:42.280
family, people in your friend group and your colleagues at work who are vaccinated and yet still
00:15:46.760
got COVID because different strains, different mutations, you're not protected. You're not fully
00:15:50.600
protected, 100% protected. So no, this idea that getting vaccinated will get us back to normal,
00:15:56.200
it's just not true. Lauren Southern over on Twitter made a really good point. She said this,
00:15:59.960
she said, BC is over 90% vaccinated and still in lockdown. People don't trust you anymore. And then,
00:16:05.800
and then she has these two pictures. So one side is all the things that are promised to people if they
00:16:11.480
get vaccinated, saying that that proof of vaccination will allow you to do all these things. And then
00:16:16.120
followed by all the things that just got banned on December 22nd. So we can go through them. So,
00:16:20.440
so BC assured you that if you got vaccinated and had approved vaccination, it would allow you to go
00:16:25.640
to indoor ticketed events, indoor patio and dining, nightclubs and casinos, movie theaters,
00:16:30.520
gyms, pools, and recreational facilities, high intensity indoor group exercise, indoor organized
00:16:35.400
gathering, and indoor recreational classes. That of course is all not true because here we go,
00:16:41.320
BC same public health organization, December 23rd. Gatherings inside are limited to 10 guests.
00:16:47.320
All must be vaccinated. No indoor organized gatherings of any size, including parties,
00:16:53.080
all indoor venues reduced to 50% capacity, adult gym, fitness centers, dance studios,
00:16:57.880
closed bars and nightclubs closed, maximum six people per table at restaurants, all events and venues
00:17:04.600
required to scan the BC VAX code, no sports tournaments. So no, the vaccine passports
00:17:11.160
did not work and no vaccinations will not get us out of the pandemic. Absolutely untrue.
00:17:17.240
Now, second, there's this video circulating online. It's trending all over the place over the holiday.
00:17:22.040
And I'm told that it actually came from September that Trudeau said this on the campaign trail
00:17:26.440
for whatever reason, probably because the interview is in French. This just exploded online over the past
00:17:31.480
few days and there's been so much reaction to it. So I want to show you this clip of Justin Trudeau
00:17:37.080
in French and just, just coming out there angrily saying the worst of the worst possible things
00:17:42.120
about unvaccinated people, just completely unloading on them, othering them, demonizing them,
00:17:49.080
doing all the most despicable, horrible things that a prime minister should never do when talking about
00:17:53.640
his own citizens. But, but here is the unhinged clip of Justin Trudeau. And it's, there's subtitles
00:17:59.880
in the bottom in case you don't speak French, but, but here he is saying that unvaccinated people
00:18:04.600
are extremists, they don't believe in science, they are misogynistic, and they are racist.
00:18:09.080
Yes, we're going to get out of this pandemic for vaccination. And we all know people who are
00:18:15.880
trying to hesitate a little bit. We're going to try to convince them. But there's also people who are
00:18:20.440
strangely opposed to vaccination. Who are extremists. Who don't believe in science,
00:18:25.080
who are often misogynes, who are often racist. It's a small group, but who takes place.
00:18:32.600
So, doubling down on this notion that if all we have to do is get vaccinated and we will be out of
00:18:42.600
the pandemic, which is false, it's not true, saying that we should not tolerate people who are unvaccinated,
00:18:49.080
I don't know what that means. If you're not going to tolerate someone, what's the alternative? Like,
00:19:05.640
kicking them out of the country, throwing them in prison. What exactly is Trudeau saying by that? And
00:19:10.600
then again, just flat out equating the unvaccinated with the worst of the worst, saying that you must
00:19:16.520
be racist, you must hate minorities, you must hate women if you don't want to participate in an
00:19:22.760
experimental vaccine. I mean, this is just really letting the cat out of the bag. And there's been
00:19:27.960
huge reaction to it. So here is Jordan Peterson saying, our Prime Minister's careless words have become
00:19:33.480
internationally scandalous. And he links to a Great Britain news segment. I'm going to play this
00:19:38.200
segment because it's really, really quite good. Neil Oliver is a tremendous speaker and thinker.
00:19:43.800
He's just been incredibly articulate throughout the pandemic, really explaining, articulating some of
00:19:49.400
the biggest problems of our times. And here he is zeroing in on Trudeau's angry, unhinged rant,
00:19:56.200
and really dissecting some of the problems here. I'm going to play this right now.
00:19:59.320
Do you think he really believes it, Neil? Or is this part of a bullying campaign to shame
00:20:12.600
Goodness. I mean, who can really look into somebody else's heart, into somebody else's head,
00:20:17.320
and say what they really believe? But this is a man trained, you would think,
00:20:23.240
in media relations, you know, to the highest level. And he must have, you know, a good understanding of
00:20:30.760
what happens when you see things in public. You know, so it must at some level, although I would
00:20:38.040
contend that he's angry, and some of that was dripping out in his words, it would also be calculated and
00:20:44.680
tactical. And yes, it begins or advances that process of demonizing people that you don't agree with.
00:20:56.360
So there's something about the way those people are behaving, something they're doing or not doing,
00:21:01.080
that you don't like. Maybe you just don't like those people. But you need to find reasons to legitimize your
00:21:09.160
hatred of them. And so it's not enough for him to say, just that these people haven't taken a
00:21:16.840
vaccination that he would prefer that they did. He's trying to turn the majority of his population
00:21:24.680
against that group of people. And he's doing that by seeking to demonize them, by saying that they're not
00:21:30.440
just, they're not just refusing the vaccine. They also hate black people, and they hate women. And we
00:21:35.880
know it's all right to, we know it's all right to, you know, to punish people like that. You know,
00:21:41.000
so what's next for Justin Trudeau? You know, does he finally go on television and just say,
00:21:45.000
right, the time has come, let's get them. You know, he's setting people up as being lesser,
00:21:51.960
as being other, as being despicable, as being guilty of things that are, you know, that are socially
00:21:57.800
unacceptable, misogyny, racism, and to bolt those crimes onto the fact that there are people out
00:22:05.240
there who are hesitant about an experimental medical procedure. I think it's a disgrace. I
00:22:09.880
think it's borderline criminal. So that's, that's absolutely right. Sometimes it takes an outsider to
00:22:14.440
look in to be able to properly, again, articulate and dissect what is happening in his country and
00:22:19.240
what is happening with Justin Trudeau. Justin Trudeau, frankly, has become unhinged. His language,
00:22:23.640
his rhetoric, it comes across as hateful, as angry, as ineffective. That's not going to convince anyone
00:22:28.840
to get vaccinated. Calling someone a racist and saying that they're misogynistic if they don't agree with you
00:22:33.240
is the absolutely worst way to convince someone to come around to your point of view. So Trudeau is
00:22:37.720
just a lost soul at this point. He has no idea the way to lead a country and, and it's just really
00:22:43.320
despicable to hear him talking about Canadians that way. Thank you so much for tuning in. I'm
