The Candice Malcolm Show - The Candice Malcolm Show： Everyone knows China lied except the Trudeau government

00:00:00.000 Hi, I'm Candice Malcolm for True North. Now, I want to talk about a remarkable exchange that

00:00:10.400 happened between Canada's health minister, Patti Hadieu, and a reporter. The reporter asked a very

00:00:16.700 basic, very straightforward question about a Bloomberg report. The Bloomberg report detailed

00:00:22.180 how U.S. intelligence officials don't trust the official Chinese line and the official Chinese

00:00:27.720 numbers when it comes to coronavirus. Now, this is what the Canadian health minister had to say.

00:00:34.440 There's no indication that the data that came out of China in terms of their infection rate and their

00:00:39.900 death rate was falsified in any way. In fact, if you look at the death rate overall in China,

00:00:45.580 it's much higher than the one we're seeing now.

00:00:47.320 All right, please let her finish.

00:00:50.560 So I would say that your question is feeding into conspiracy theories that many people have

00:01:03.160 been perpetuating on the internet. And it's important to remember that there is no way

00:01:08.560 to beat a global pandemic if we're actually not willing to work together as a globe.

00:01:13.280 Okay, did you hear that? First, Patti Hadieu, she says that there is no indication that the data that

00:01:19.100 came out of China in terms of their infection rate and their death rate is falsified in any way,

00:01:23.380 that there's no indication. Okay, wait a minute. The entire premise of the question came from a

00:01:28.900 Bloomberg report that does just that. It does give a very clear indication that China has falsified

00:01:35.980 their report. So let me just read from this Bloomberg report here. The headline says China

00:01:42.340 concealed extent of the virus and outbreak U.S. intelligence officers say. Here, I'll read from the

00:01:47.880 report. It says China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country. Under

00:01:54.160 reporting both total cases and deaths it suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community

00:01:59.660 concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials. The

00:02:05.540 officials asked not to be identified because their report is secret and they declined to detail its

00:02:10.720 contents. But the thrust, they said, is that China's public reporting on cases and deaths is

00:02:16.000 intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that China's numbers are

00:02:21.780 fake. China's numbers are fake. They're fake. So this is Canada's top ally, our most important partner

00:02:28.900 and our North American security partner. And here we have the Canadian health minister

00:02:34.120 basically saying that she doesn't trust the U.S. information, that she doesn't trust the story

00:02:39.360 that was based on U.S. intelligence sources and a document given to the White House. So rather than

00:02:46.000 trusting our top ally and our sort of cultural neighbor and partner, instead the Trudeau government

00:02:53.260 says that they would rather trust China. They would rather trust China. Just think about that for a 0.75

00:02:58.220 second. In a situation where the globe is in the midst of a pandemic, a health pandemic that originated in

00:03:05.040 China. That was the result of bad practices in China. The origin of this disease is believed to 0.85

00:03:11.440 have come from a wet market where exotic animals are killed or sold alive and eaten by people. That's

00:03:18.940 the origin of this disease. The Chinese government refuses to crack down on it. Then the Chinese 1.00

00:03:22.880 government lied for weeks, if not months, about the human-to-human transmission of this virus.

00:03:29.520 China is to blame. China is a very, very bad actor in all of this. They deserve to pay for 1.00

00:03:34.860 what they have done. And yet the health minister is actually kind of defending China and in some ways

00:03:41.480 repeating propaganda lies from the communist regime. China does not have a free and fair press,

00:03:47.800 so we have to take with a grain of salt and a high degree of skepticism the numbers that come out of

00:03:52.740 China. It's an autocratic communist regime that has lied throughout this entire pandemic. So we

00:03:58.360 shouldn't trust them. They don't have a free press like we do in Canada and in the West. So even the

00:04:04.180 press is highly suspect. It's all kind of communist government owned. But there are free journalists,

00:04:09.760 there are independent journalists, many of them who are early whistleblowers have been arrested or

00:04:15.100 disappeared by the communist regime because they've been speaking out. But there was a report that came

00:04:20.220 out of Radio Free Asia. This came out on March 27th. And it says estimates show Wuhan death toll far higher

00:04:28.900 than official figures. And let me read from this because this also provides some evidence to suggest

00:04:34.460 that China is lying. So it says, as authorities lifted a two-month coronavirus lockdown in the central

00:04:40.760 Chinese city of Wuhan, residents said they were growing increasingly skeptical of the figure of

00:04:46.580 some 2,500 deaths in the city to date. It was accurate. Since the start of the week, seven large funeral 0.98

00:04:53.420 homes in Wuhan have been handing out cremated remains of around 500 people to families every

00:04:58.660 single day, suggesting far more people died than ever made the official statistics. It can't be right

00:05:04.880 because the incinerators have been working around the clock. So how can so few people have died,

00:05:09.460 a Wuhan resident said on Friday. Okay, so seven funeral homes currently serve Wuhan. Social media users have

00:05:17.340 been doing some basic math to figure out their daily capacity. So one news outlet reported that there

00:05:23.660 were 5,000 urns delivered to just one funeral home in one day alone. That would be double the official

00:05:29.700 death rate for the entire region to one funeral home in one day. So some other estimates suggest that

00:05:36.760 there have been 3,500 urns every single day in total among the seven funeral homes. So just doing some

00:05:43.660 basic calculation, the estimate of the number of people who died just in Wuhan alone, just in that

00:05:48.960 one Chinese city, the epicenter of the virus, the communist government says it's 2,500. Estimates range

00:05:55.420 from 42,000 all the way up to 46,800. That's just based on the use of those funeral homes and the

00:06:03.420 number of urns. So to go back to Patty Haiju's comment, and saying that there's no indication to 0.98

00:06:09.480 believe that China is lying, yes, yes, there's so much indication. There are so many things that

00:06:15.500 have happened to make us believe that China is not telling the truth, or at least to bring some

00:06:20.400 skepticism toward it. And seeing a Canadian official just brazenly call out a reporter to defend the

00:06:27.880 communist regime as they have unleashed this deadly pandemic on the globe, and also to call out that

00:06:34.940 journalist as a conspiracy theorist for asking questions and doing his job, that's a shameful,

00:06:40.880 shameful moment for Canada. Let me just say Patty Haiju is looking more like an autocratic leader from 1.00

00:06:46.900 China than she is the health minister of a free and democratic country of Canada. For True North,

00:06:53.040 I'm Candace Malcolm.
