00:03:51.000 The people in charge get to decide who actually has to go to jail for violating those rules.

00:03:57.000 And so people say, boy, you know, we have to be careful because the law should apply equally.

00:04:08.000 Bill Clinton's not going to go to jail for sexual, alleged sexual relations with children, teenagers, or at least going on planes, child sex trafficking stuff, or his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

00:14:45.000 It's the lawfare across the board.

00:14:47.000 And so you have nothing but bad options.

00:14:49.000 Through door A, they pummel us and they obliterate us and they steamroll us and the country is over.

00:14:54.000 Through door B, we actually embrace lawfare and maybe we can get to a place where we sign a peace treaty.

00:15:06.000 Door B, you have a chance to eventually save the country, but it's going to be nasty and brutish and cruel.

00:16:03.000 If you love this country, the only way that we get to peace is you have to be willing to escalate the fight equally.

00:16:14.000 Try to win them over and try to not have them eat you and be the eat-me-last Republicans, right?

00:16:20.000 And just throw all of it, you know, throw Charlie Kirk overboard, throw Steve Bannon overboard, throw Donald Trump overboard, and hope that when the parasites come to your door, they're somehow not going to devour you, right?

00:18:34.000 Well, there are multiple dimensions to this.

00:18:37.000 I mean, the first and most obvious and in some ways the most immediately scandalous dimension of this is this clear case of the Department of Justice interfering in the election.

00:18:48.000 I mean, you can't state it enough how egregious and really third world it is to have a sitting president's Department of Justice slap some clearly manufactured contrived charge in order to cripple his political opposition.

00:19:08.000 In this case, Trump, who is the frontrunner in 2024 for the Republicans by far.

00:19:14.000 Andrew, do you want to pick it up?

00:19:15.000 No, I mean, I think what you're talking about is something that we've been reiterating on the show, Darren, that this is clearly manufactured.

00:19:22.000 It's clearly basically a document process paperwork dispute that they're trumping up pun intended to target a political opponent.

00:19:31.000 I mean, we see that, we see that Rachel Maddow clip.

00:19:33.000 I'm sure you've seen it, Darren, where she's basically giving up, saying the quiet part out loud, saying, well, maybe there's a plea deal to be had.

00:19:40.000 He agrees not to run, and then we'll reduce the charges.

00:19:44.000 You don't have to spend any time in prison.

00:19:46.000 Darren, what is your take on the best way, you know, short of dropping out of the race?

00:19:54.000 If you're in Donald Trump's camp right now, what is your advice to them?

00:19:57.000 What are you telling them to do from a messaging standpoint, optics standpoint, and next steps?

00:20:02.000 Well, you got to play it up really hard in the messaging.

00:20:04.000 I mean, they're attacking him for precisely the reason that all American patriots need to rally around his defense.

00:20:12.000 And that is he is the number one threat to the regime.

00:20:16.000 He's the number one threat to the ruling establishment.

00:20:19.000 He's the number one threat to the illegitimate crooks who continue to run this country into the ground.

00:20:25.000 No one else has seen anything remotely close to the constant abuse and constant attempts to cripple him in every single capacity.

00:20:36.000 So I think he needs to make that an integral part of the messaging.

00:20:40.000 They're coming after me in an unprecedented way because he threatens the system in an unprecedented way.

00:20:48.000 And beyond the messaging part, I would say cooperate to the absolute minimum.

00:20:54.000 You know, make them, if they're going to do it, you know, call their bluff.

00:20:58.000 Force them to actually make the step of physically arresting him, doing all this stuff.

00:21:04.000 If that's where they want to take it, force them to do it and fully expose the American people.

00:21:13.000 So, Darren, you know, I've been calling on other Republican candidates to actually show that we have an opposition party in this country.

00:21:54.000 Darren, what's really in contrast here is the Department of Justice is basically saying the will of the people and the consent of the governed, we don't care.

00:22:08.000 Shouldn't every Republican suspend their campaign ahead of Tuesday as a show of solidarity and support against what is obviously a Maoist campaign against a former president?

00:22:19.000 I think at the very least, other candidates need to realize that this is much bigger than themselves.

00:22:27.000 I mean, it's important to remind ourselves, this is simply unprecedented.

00:22:32.000 Yes, Trump is the frontrunner for the GOP slot in 2024, but he's also a former president of the United States.

00:22:40.000 This is an office that rightly enjoys a tremendous amount of deference when it comes to these things.

00:22:47.000 Now, I can imagine if a former president actually, to take an example, shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, then they would undergo the criminal process like anyone else.

00:22:59.000 But for these clearly trivial, clearly petty, contrived, politically motivated charges, if they allow this to go through, this is going to be the norm.

00:23:09.000 Any president, any politician who makes any attempt to threaten the regime or the establishment is going to get the Biden DOJ banana boat treatment in the future.

00:23:22.000 And it might even get to the stage where if someone isn't indicted, it's going to be a red flag saying, are you so milquetoast?

00:23:30.000 Are you so unthreatening that you haven't even been indicted?

00:23:33.000 What's the matter with you?

00:23:36.000 So I think all of these other guys, they need to understand this is bigger.

00:24:27.000 Much has been made of his time in the Netherlands, The Hague, and all this.

00:24:32.000 I mean, he seems like a guy that pushes, that he expands the statute interpretations that others would have more of a prudent, conservative approach.

00:24:45.000 He's had other attacks that lawmakers get overturned by the Supreme Court in the case of his Virginia case.

00:24:53.000 What is your read on this man?

00:24:55.000 Is he just going to keep pushing?

00:24:58.000 It's hard to say, but it certainly looks like it's going in that direction.

00:25:02.000 But look, I mean, with these kinds of things, if there's prosecutorial gymnastics involved, you've heard of prosecutorial discretion.

00:25:12.000 And in order to affect this, you need the similar types of cognitive gymnastics undertaken at the judicial level to come remotely close to sustaining such a clearly petty and politically motivated case such as this.

00:25:27.000 So it just, you know, it just remains to be seen.

00:25:31.000 Trump needs to recognize this.

00:25:33.000 He needs to incorporate it into his messaging.

00:25:35.000 And he needs to call their bluff, saying, you're going to hit me with something so petty, okay?

00:25:40.000 I'm going to force you to go all out and make a spectacle of it so the American people can see just how low you're willing to go to take the number one threat to the regime off the political chessboard.

00:25:53.000 You know, so Darren, I'm going to read just a title here from Dan Bongino.

00:25:57.000 Dan Bongino says, RIP USA, he says, the country that we grew up in is dead, over.

00:26:03.000 Now, that might be a little bit hyperbole.

00:26:05.000 I haven't listened to all of it, but we've said the same, though.

00:26:09.000 I mean, I believe.

00:26:10.000 You're the first person I heard say that.

00:26:16.000 We are going through the binary of door A, which is to do the Chris Christie, Assa Hutchinson thing, and to try to win over the deep state and hope they don't devour us and throw the rats they don't, you know, the quote-unquote rats they don't like off the ship, like Charlie Kirk and Darren Beattie and, you know, all this.

00:26:33.000 Or we can go to door B and with a sigh and with regret, not with regret, but with just a sense of disappointment, enter door B and say it's time for us to have mutually assured destruction.

00:26:51.000 I think it's time for perp walks, handcuffs, subpoenas, indictments, and investigations.

00:27:14.000 Call their bluff because I really don't think they want to see what happens in the country if they actually go through with the process of saying we're putting handcuffs on this guy.

00:27:31.000 American people know they deserve a chance at this election to say who they want.

00:27:35.000 I mean, again, it's so many, it's such a violation on so many levels of everything that Americans like to think of themselves as, according to our self-conception, as a free country, as a democracy.

00:27:48.000 If this were happening in any other country, you know, a country at least that's a foreign adversary, we'd be talking about regime change at this point.

00:27:57.000 But now it's in our country.

00:27:59.000 The regime we have in place is pretty much just as bad as any of the regimes that we talked about and demonize.

00:28:08.000 Until we exercise the demons, so to speak, the country will continue to go into the toilet bowl.

00:28:16.000 We are sending weapons to Ukraine because we're told that we should fight tyranny while our own government becomes more tyrannical, in some ways more so than Vladimir Putin's.

00:29:28.000 They are alleging that the United States nuclear programs, potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack, and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack are among the documents, the classified documents that Trump maintained.

00:29:41.000 The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military and human sources, and the continued viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods.

00:29:55.000 And they're saying he stored these at Mar-a-Lago, which is an active social club, tens of thousands of members and guests.

00:30:03.000 Point six, on two occasions in 2021, Trump showed classified documents to others.

00:30:08.000 In July 2021, at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, during an audio-recorded meeting with a writer, a publisher, and two members of his staff, none of whom possessed a security clinch, Trump showed and described a, quote, plan of attack that Trump said was prepared for him by the Department of Defense and a senior military official.

00:30:27.000 Trump told the individuals that the plan was highly confidential and secret.

00:30:31.000 Trump also said, as president, I could have declassified it, and now I can't, you know, but this is still a secret.

00:30:36.000 So what this tells me, by the way, Charlie, that this story, before this was unsealed, broke in CNN.

00:30:42.000 So we have leaked after leak after leak, right?

00:30:45.000 So this is proof that somebody leaked this early to CNN.

00:30:48.000 It was actually included in now the unsealed indictment.

00:30:52.000 That is proof positive that this DOJ is doing a trial by PR.

00:30:57.000 This is a publicity trial against the former president right here.

00:31:01.000 Let's go back to, well, Cut 119, as we're reading this indictment, Joe Biden admitting having classified documents in his garage dating back to 1974.

00:31:08.000 You think Joe Biden's going to be indicted anytime soon?

00:31:11.000 Play Cut 119.

00:31:12.000 The best of my knowledge, the kinds of things they picked up are things that are from 1974 and stray papers.

00:31:20.000 There may be something else I don't know.

00:31:22.000 And then Cut 116 asked about classified documents.

00:31:25.000 Joe Biden had the same thing.

00:31:27.000 He had them in his garage with the Corvette.

00:31:30.000 not going to get indicted because we do not have a law in our country or a legal system we have a rules-based system and in a rules-based system important distinction those in charge get to enforce what rules they want and which ones they do not want play cut 116.

00:31:45.000 you said just possessing classified documents is you said totally irresponsible so what was totally irresponsible but the fact that you had some what They've informed me not to speak to this issue to any way try to prejudice the investigation that's going on.

00:32:04.000 And the other important part of the indictment, as we're reading it, Andrew is, but I want to just read the lead.

00:32:12.000 Donald Trump and Walt Nada.

00:32:15.000 This is how you go after the mob every day.

00:32:17.000 So here's what specifically, this is point seven.

00:32:21.000 This is the obstruction case that they're trying to build.

00:32:23.000 They're basically saying Trump endeavored to obstruct the FBI and grand jury investigations and conceals continued retention of classified documents by, among other things, and this is the Waltine Nada piece, B, directing defendant Walteen Nada to move boxes of documents to conceal them from Trump's attorneys, the FBI, and the grand jury.

00:32:43.000 By the way, it's important to state that all of these documents have been recovered, right, after they raided Mar-a-Lago and they posted the pictures online of all the, you know.

00:32:51.000 He didn't burn them or destroy them.

00:32:53.000 And again, he has full authority.

00:32:56.000 This is the issue.

00:32:57.000 This is the crux.

00:32:58.000 As president to declassify them under the Presidential Records Act.

00:33:02.000 The issue is that Trump, in a showman-type way, was caught on tape bragging that he had documents that he did not declassify.

00:33:13.000 That's in the indictment.

00:33:14.000 I could have declassified it as president, is what he said.

00:33:17.000 What was the exact quote?

00:33:18.000 It's going to be up to a very, very talented defense attorney to explain that one, right?

00:33:24.000 Because either way, the prosecution is going to do it.

00:33:26.000 It's right there.

00:33:27.000 Here's the dialogue.

00:33:28.000 Trump said, this was done by the military and given to me.

00:33:30.000 I think we probably can.

00:33:31.000 Staffer, I don't know.

00:33:32.000 We'll have to see.

00:33:34.000 Trump said, declassify it.

00:33:35.000 And Staffer said, figure out, yeah.

00:33:38.000 And Trump said, see, as president, I could have declassified it.

00:33:41.000 Hold on, let me see that.

00:33:42.000 That's in the indictment.

00:33:43.000 This was done by the Trump.

00:33:46.000 This is so weak to indict somebody on this, but this is where their case is hinging on, right?

00:33:51.000 This little back and forth caught on audio, which is completely subjective, circumstantial.

00:33:57.000 He could have been joking.

00:33:58.000 This very well could be an indictment based on a joke.

00:34:01.000 I'm seriously.

00:34:02.000 Yeah, no, no.

00:34:03.000 I totally, you know, I mean, I know Trump's, I know his vibe.

00:34:07.000 It could have just been a, oh, you know, as president, I could have been, you know, or just classify.

00:34:13.000 But there's no humor with the DOJ.
