00:04:13.000 And, you know, we're just grateful to have, I'm glad we texted last night and I was like, dude, you got to come.

00:04:20.000 Before we hit the questions, I wanted to get, we talked about MAID, the assisted suicide thing in Canada, and I got a lot of emails.

00:04:28.000 So really, a lot of people had strong health.
00:04:29.000 And I wanted to read some of them because I thought it's important to really drive this point home, especially when it resonates with our audience.
00:04:35.000 Deborah points out, I have a friend in Canada who has lupus or had lupus and could not get proper care.
00:04:42.000 So instead, they just offered her MAID.
00:04:44.000 She had just turned 50.
00:04:45.000 She has a husband.
00:04:46.000 She has a child.
00:04:47.000 She refused for obvious reasons.
00:04:50.000 But Canada's health system is broken.
00:04:52.000 Praise God that she is a Christian.
00:04:54.000 They're literally shoving it down people's throats.
00:04:56.000 Yes, they'll just serve their actively encouraging it.

00:05:00.000 And you want to know what really freaks me out the most about this is how fast in one generation you can just switch to what was radical but is now normal.
00:05:08.000 And I was talking to my family about, you know, growing up, their generation would see movies where you could talk on the phone to your watch.
00:05:14.000 And they're like, and that happened in like 2013 with the Apple Watch.
00:05:18.000 But then now it's like way early on, the concept of a third trimester abortion was radical.
00:05:26.000 Now, and the concept of, you know, a medically assisted suicide was radical.
00:05:31.000 Or transing your kid was radical.
00:05:33.000 But within like a 50-year period, it's now normal.
00:05:37.000 And so you have to ask yourself, what's next?
00:05:40.000 Like, what comes after that?
00:05:41.000 And it's like, they're going to start normalizing marriage to an underage child.
00:05:46.000 If you want.
00:05:47.000 They're going to start normalizing polygamy.
00:05:50.000 Or, yeah, yeah.
00:05:51.000 And Canada, I feel mentioned this.

00:05:54.000 Canada was more Christian than America after World War II, if you can believe it.

00:06:06.000 My uncle had an ear infection, a quack, blew air into it, ruptured his eardrum, and the infection spread.

00:06:14.000 He couldn't stand the pain any longer.
00:06:14.000 They did nothing.
00:06:16.000 And the doctor was more than happy to help him end it all.
00:06:19.000 My aunt is still devastated two years later by the way he was treated.

00:06:27.000 And one more: Aaron points out: they should know that 1 Corinthians, do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's spirit dwells in you?

00:06:59.000 I think it's a great chair that you guys have today because I had two church questions I wanted to ask you guys.

00:07:06.000 Yeah.
00:07:07.000 My first question was: Many churches today seem to be struggling to keep young people connected and engaged.
00:07:13.000 From your perspective, what is the biggest issue churches need to fix and what steps can they take to rebuild their communities?
00:07:19.000 Well, first and foremost, the Bible says that God's truth endures to all generations.
00:07:24.000 With that in mind, we don't need a baby boomer gospel.
00:07:28.000 We don't need an X gospel.
00:07:30.000 We don't need a Gen Z gospel.
00:07:32.000 We need the gospel preached by men who have been impacted and changed by the gospel.
00:07:40.000 And so, about seven or eight years ago, I went to Barnes and Noble's to gain some understanding on what books were impacting kids.
00:07:48.000 And 70% of the books that I saw that was postured in the front of the store were about the occult world or pagan worship, which told me that people want to delve into mysticism.
00:08:02.000 They want to know that there's something out there that's supernatural.
00:08:06.000 And there is.
00:08:07.000 There are some false gods, but there's a real God that supersedes over the earth.
00:08:12.000 And now, more than ever, we need to have an emphasis in the Christian church on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:08:20.000 People need to have an encounter with God.
00:08:22.000 And when you have an encounter with God, no one can shake what you have seen and what you know.
00:08:29.000 In addition, pastors must engage the culture.
00:08:33.000 We can't leave it up to social media and TikTok to educate the church on what's right, what's true, and what's just.
00:08:41.000 Many pastors today won't touch issues of transgenderism, abortion, the school system issues of whether some states want school choice or not, or not.
00:08:53.000 They won't touch it because they are afraid to tick off their more liberal members.
00:08:58.000 And so I say it this way: that weak pulpits create weak Christians.
00:09:03.000 Scary preachers create scary sheep.
00:09:07.000 And what we need now more than ever are pastors who are not afraid to be bludgeoned, right?
00:09:13.000 To be crucified afresh because of what they stand for and what they believe.
00:09:19.000 Because of that, so many say nothing and they allow the podcaster to dominate what's being said.
00:09:25.000 Wow.
00:09:26.000 I also think comes to mind Proverbs 22, 6, train up the child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
00:09:34.000 It ties into what we were talking about with the scouts.
00:09:38.000 You know, that's why when we had 10 million scouts in 1976, that was a lot of young men being raised up in the way they should go.

00:09:52.000 The main thing struggling with, the church is struggling with is we got weak pastors.

00:10:03.000 The online world moves fast and it's moving even faster these days.
00:10:07.000 That's why TikTok approaches teen safety with families in mind from the start.
00:10:12.000 Because discovery and creativity are both wonderful things, but it's important to make sure that safety comes first as well.
00:10:18.000 On TikTok, teenagers have over 50 built-in protections right from when they join.
00:10:23.000 Accounts for teens all start private by default.
00:10:26.000 They're not open to the entire world.
00:10:28.000 And for those under 16, direct messages are turned off.
00:10:31.000 Only their friends can comment on their videos.
00:10:34.000 And that kind of approach matters because feeling confident and comfortable about these platforms your teenagers are on shouldn't mean digging through a bunch of menus and trying to set everything up yourself and worrying that you got it wrong.
00:10:45.000 TikTok is taking a proactive approach.
00:10:48.000 Their protections are built in from the moment those teenagers join so that safety and peace of mind for parents is there right from the start.

00:11:20.000 So I live in a smaller county in Florida.
00:11:26.000 And actually a couple of months back, actually, my wife called into you guys.
00:11:31.000 Again, you get so many callers every week.
00:11:34.000 I'm sure you don't remember.
00:11:35.000 But she had called in and asked about how do we deal with an issue within our county, essentially that they were trying to hit us with an additional tax and we had a unique idea for it.
00:11:47.000 You guys actually gave her a really cool quote.
00:11:49.000 You played a quote from Erica about having a velvet spine of steel and withstanding people.
00:11:54.000 I remember that, yeah.
00:11:55.000 Yeah, yeah, really cool.
00:11:56.000 And that quotes everywhere.
00:11:57.000 But so, anyway, so they want to raise our taxes here, right?
00:12:00.000 So we dug into the budget, and what we found was kind of alarming.
00:12:05.000 So, over the course of about a 10-year period, we actually found in our little Florida county about $180 million that nobody can really account for for why they collected at nine.
00:12:17.000 I'm an accountant, I have 11 spreadsheets all over this.
00:12:22.000 And I mean, it's actually legit, and not to get too nerdy on you, but basically, our property taxes grew by about 161% over the last 10 years, but population only went up by about 35%.
00:12:32.000 Inflation is about 28%.
00:12:34.000 So, there's a big gap essentially.
00:12:37.000 So, like last year, they collected what would have been the equivalent of an extra like $47 million than they should have if they would have used the 2015 baseline.
00:12:45.000 And it's like close to 200 million.
00:12:47.000 So, anyways, my question is: so, we're looking to kind of relaunch this and present this information to our county on Monday.
00:12:55.000 And one of the things we're doing is online, we're building out a website.
00:12:58.000 We're going to have an accountability scorecard as well for every elected official, every candidate in our area.
00:13:04.000 And basically, we want to get them on record publicly and saying, Hey, do you support having an independent audit of our county?
00:13:13.000 And only after doing that will you even think about raising taxes.
00:13:17.000 So, my question is: how do you actually get these officials to respond?
00:13:21.000 And I ironically say this, Jen's the only reason she's not talking to my wife on this right now.
00:13:25.000 She's actually talking to a city council member right now.
00:13:28.000 But we've had a lot of back and forth with people, and they don't really want to commit to anything.
00:13:33.000 So, how do we get them?
00:13:35.000 Randy Fine.

00:13:38.000 Actually, you know, Randy Fine's going to be, I guess, just confirmed to speak at our event in DC that Anna Polina Luna is running.
00:13:47.000 Well, so, big picture, I think, getting at the heart of it is there is, I think, the flawed assumption that government actually cares about stopping waste.
00:13:56.000 And in a lot of cases, it doesn't.
00:13:58.000 They often are the beneficiaries of higher waste.
00:14:00.000 That can often translate to having more personnel under them, just higher salaries for themselves, higher benefits for themselves.
00:14:07.000 And more to the point, if you're in the government, there's not much of a penalty for having a lot of waste.
00:14:12.000 It's not your money, it's somebody else's money.
00:14:15.000 So, the people you do unfortunately have to get whipped up about it are the people who actually pay the taxes because they're the ones who are harmed by this.
00:14:23.000 And this is one of the big existential problems in America: as you tilt to where the number of people meaningfully paying taxes is less than half the population, you get to a point where there are arguably not enough people who have a stake in anything being run effectively, being run efficiently.
00:14:40.000 So I think you have a good idea with trying to create websites, create more local awareness of the scale of the problem.
00:14:48.000 But in the end, something that has to happen is you basically have to make sure that this is something people will turn out and vote for in local races to change.
00:14:57.000 Yeah.

00:15:47.000 But to Blake's point, getting popular support, groundswell support in your local community and showing up at the city council meetings demanding accountability as opposed to raising taxes.

00:15:59.000 You know, you have a Republican district that's acting like a bunch of Democrats.
00:16:04.000 What do Democrats do in California?
00:16:06.000 They tax and they spend and then they want to tax some more.
00:16:10.000 Now they need billionaires' wealth tax, right?
00:16:12.000 So this is what they do.
00:16:14.000 And instead of fixing the problem underlying, it's not that you have a revenue problem.
00:16:19.000 You have a spending problem.
00:16:20.000 So stop acting like Democrats.
00:16:22.000 Stop taxing us more.
00:16:23.000 We want more.
00:16:24.000 Listen, taxation is essentially theft at some level, right?
00:16:27.000 Especially when it's not being used responsibly.
00:16:32.000 It's certainly morally incumbent upon those elected leaders to use it responsibly.

00:17:29.000 So my question is, how do we, you know, balance what it tells us in scripture to obey the authority we live in with fighting unjust laws?
00:17:44.000 There's so many ways that you can unpack that question.
00:17:47.000 The thing is, the powers that be are ordained by God.
00:17:52.000 That's Romans chapter 13.
00:17:53.000 Surrender unto Caesar.
00:17:54.000 That's right.
00:17:55.000 But the problem with Caesar is Caesar wants too much, right?
00:17:58.000 Caesar wants to continue to take from us.
00:18:01.000 When you look at the Old Testament, you see the Hebrew boys who were thrown into a fiery furnace because they resisted what the king wanted.
00:18:11.000 You see Daniel thrown in the lion's den because he resisted what the king wanted.
00:18:15.000 You see David fighting Goliath.
00:18:17.000 Why?
00:18:17.000 Because he resisted what Goliath was saying about the people of God.
00:18:22.000 And so there lies a point, all right, where if the laws are unjust, i.e. we are being forced to do things that are against our biblical worldview, we shouldn't succumb to those laws.
00:18:38.000 We shouldn't do it, all right?
00:18:40.000 We shouldn't adhere to it.
00:18:41.000 Hats off to the mighty men of God who during the pandemic were told to close their churches.
00:18:47.000 But instead of closing their churches, they kept their churches open.
00:18:51.000 Now, many of them received fines.
00:18:53.000 I'm sure the McCoy's know something about that.
00:18:55.000 I know what I mean.
00:18:56.000 You know, fines, and they were pilloried and bludgeoned because of their belief system, but yet instead they kept their churches open.
00:19:04.000 What we're seeing right now is that the churches that resisted during the pandemic, those churches are thriving.
00:19:09.000 And the churches that closed down, many of them are still shuttered.
00:19:13.000 And so, yes, there is a point where we have to disagree and disobey the laws of the land if they go against scripture and what God has called us to do.
00:19:24.000 We should do that dutifully, but we should also do it winsomely, not with the intent to create disorder or chaos, but we cannot support laws that go against our biblical worldview.
00:19:38.000 Yeah, which is why I brought up the example from Acts, right?
00:19:41.000 Sure.
00:19:42.000 Where they were being told you can't spread the gospel.
00:19:43.000 You can't preach the gospel.
00:19:44.000 And they said, sorry, that's our mandate.
00:19:46.000 We have to do it.
00:19:46.000 We have to go against the authority of the land.
00:19:49.000 I would also add that specifically here in America, and Charlie used to talk about this all the time, that honoring those in authority is different in our country.
00:19:58.000 And I was at dinner at the Cedras last night, and they were like shocked.
00:20:02.000 I was going through the Constitution.
00:20:03.000 They're like, we love this article.
00:20:05.000 We love this declaration.
00:20:07.000 It's just the most powerful document.
00:20:09.000 But having free speech, having the Second Amendment, having all these things, the authority in our country is the people.
00:20:15.000 And so when you're called to honor those in authority, when there's unjust rules, specifically the example of COVID-19, when they're shuttering the doors, but strip clubs were allowed to be open.
00:20:26.000 When they're forcing pastors not to have counseling sessions with their congregants, but marijuana dispensaries were open.
00:20:26.000 That's right.
00:20:34.000 And so you have to ask yourself, you know, here in America, we the people are the authority.
00:20:39.000 But then even greater than that, you guys talked about, you know, in Matthew, where Christ talks about rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
00:20:46.000 He says, hold up the denarius.
00:20:48.000 And so they hold up denarius.
00:20:49.000 He says, whose face is on that?
00:20:50.000 He says, okay, so render unto Caesar's, what is Caesar's, and to God, what is God's.
00:20:50.000 It's Caesar.
00:20:55.000 But now in modern day society, specifically America and in the West, we've rendered unto Caesar what is God's.
00:21:04.000 Marriage is God's.
00:21:05.000 That's right.
00:21:06.000 The right to life is God's.
00:21:08.000 And yet we have this notion in our head that that belongs to the government.
00:21:13.000 That belongs to Caesar's.
00:21:15.000 You know, that's a political issue.
00:21:18.000 That's a political issue.
00:21:18.000 I can't touch that.
00:21:19.000 I don't want to talk about that.
00:21:20.000 That's right.
00:21:21.000 But no, no, it's not.
00:21:22.000 It's not a political issue.
00:21:24.000 You guys are, you're lost.

00:21:27.000 It's actually a biblical issue.

00:21:34.000 We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

00:21:51.000 We are the sovereign from which the consent, we allow the government to rule and govern by our consent because we are the sovereign.

00:22:16.000 Acts chapter 4, verse 29 says, And now, Lord, behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word.
00:22:25.000 Verse 31 says, And when they had prayed, the place was shaken.
00:22:28.000 They were assembled together and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word of God with boldness.
00:22:33.000 That word boldness in the Greek gives you the word parhesia, which means the unreservedness of utterance.
00:22:39.000 It also means freedom of speech.
00:22:41.000 Boldness is freedom of speech.
00:22:44.000 And so when the preacher preaches the whole council of God from Genesis to Revelation, that's freedom of speech.
00:22:50.000 When he holds back truth, it's not freedom of speech.
00:22:53.000 And so we see pastors all around our country withholding freedom of speech because they fear government.

00:25:08.000 Yeah, it's like it, yeah, it's like when, for example, you brought up the COVID example.
00:25:15.000 When the government tells you not to do something and you know that it's a God-given right to do the opposite, you stand in boldness to do it, whether or not you will be attacked or whether or not you go to jail.
00:25:26.000 And it's because you are fighting for something bigger, something greater than yourself, specifically when it comes to the values of truth that we hold.
00:25:35.000 And so, if the left is threatening violence against you, you know that you have a duty to stand up for that truth, to stand up for your values, regardless of if you're going to be attacked or not.
00:25:47.000 And unfortunately, the trajectory of the left, especially when it comes to violence here in America, is they're becoming increasingly successful, not just in them assassinating our people, but also when it comes to the assassins, possibly in the case of Luigi Mangioni, the left mobilizing to make him this like hero.
00:26:09.000 He's a folk hero.
00:26:10.000 He's a folk hero.
00:26:11.000 So every time there's a hearing at the courthouse, there's a bunch of leftist protesters that want to see Luigi Mangioni walk free for killing a man in cold blood, for assassinating a man for no other reason than he did not like the healthcare system that he was in charge of.
00:26:27.000 And it's very dark because this can succeed.
00:26:29.000 It has succeeded in the past where movements that love violence and embrace violence and promote it have successfully gotten killers get away with things.
00:26:39.000 They've gotten them very lenient sentences.
00:26:41.000 You can see this, if you want an ominous example, this happened regularly in Russia before they had the Bolshevik Revolution.
00:26:48.000 Constant culture of assassinations and people who would get off quite lightly in many cases for involvement in those.
00:26:55.000 And so how do we fight it?
00:26:57.000 Well, I would say politically, a very important step in areas where we have power, for example, in red states right now, and for that matter in the federal government, you need to take a position of maximum hostility to politically driven violence.

00:27:11.000 And that can involve, obviously, prosecuting everyone you can, but also you have to lay down the law a bit.
00:27:18.000 If your organization is clearly engineering riots, we're going to say, like, yeah, we should probably change RICO and make sure RICO is capable of prosecuting organizations like that.
00:27:31.000 You can't take a casual attitude.
00:27:33.000 And so, for example, if you have these riots that happen on a campus to try to shut down a turning point speaker, as happened to Charlie many times, you have to actually say, this is a much bigger deal than we've acted like it is in the past.
00:27:46.000 This is an attempt to destroy freedom of speech and to violently intimidate someone against doing something.
00:27:51.000 Bam, you were trying to strip someone of their civil rights.
00:27:53.000 We're going to throw you in prison for a decade.

00:29:15.000 They've denied his edicts and his instructions and his commands.
00:29:20.000 And so what we really need is we need revival.

00:29:27.000 And that ultimately is the only thing that's going to give enough people enough courage to face it.
00:29:33.000 Consider the climate of where the early church was after the killing, the open killing of Jesus.
00:29:43.000 John, I believe it's 20, verse 19 says, Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut, where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst and said unto them, peace be unto you.

00:30:02.000 They're hiding out, afraid, terrified for their lives.
00:30:05.000 We don't want to go beyond these walls because they may kill us as well, because we just watched them kill our Savior.

00:30:18.000 There's a mentality that's required to do kingdom work.

00:30:41.000 The threats are supposed to cause you to neuter your voice, censor yourself, self-censorship, right?

00:30:49.000 It's a plan to keep a person from doing what they know is just, right, and good.
00:30:55.000 But Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them, peace be unto you.
00:31:00.000 And then he goes on to show them proof that he existed.
00:31:04.000 And then ultimately, he gives them, you know, the initial down payment of the Holy Spirit.
00:31:10.000 He breathes on them and gives them the power to go beyond their fears.
00:31:16.000 And so the movement within Turning Point USA will thrive.
00:31:19.000 It will continue to grow.
00:31:21.000 So as long as we move beyond the fear, the threat of retribution, what could happen?
00:31:28.000 I'll tell you what's going to happen.
00:31:30.000 We're all going to die one day.
00:31:32.000 That's what's going to happen.

00:31:35.000 It's not a variable.
00:31:37.000 At some point, at some time, it will happen.
