00:00:53.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:55.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:00:57.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:01:00.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:01:04.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:01:05.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:01:06.000 His spirit, his love of this country.
00:01:07.000 He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:14.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:23.000 That's why we are here.

00:01:51.000 Okay, let's get to Karen, who is the first question here.
00:01:54.000 Reminder, if you are a member at members.charliekirk.com, you can ask us questions this hour.
00:02:00.000 Karen, what is your question?
00:02:02.000 We have two candidates who just won central committee positions, and we are working hard to elect Mark Cargile for Congress and Nick Wilson for State Assembly.
00:02:11.000 Do your turning point chapters table on campus for voter registration?
00:02:16.000 Would that interfere with your C3 status?
00:02:18.000 No, we register voters all the time.
00:02:21.000 We also have Turning Point Action that does it as well.
00:02:24.000 But doing nonpartisan voter registration is perfectly fine for a 501c3 to do.
00:02:28.000 And we do it on campuses all the time.
00:02:30.000 So we'd love to get you connected.
00:02:32.000 We'd love to network with you and also connect you with our Turning Point Action team as well.
00:02:39.000 And God bless you for staying involved, staying engaged.
00:02:43.000 We need activists and patriots like you.
00:02:44.000 God bless you.
00:02:46.000 I listen to you every single day.
00:02:48.000 Never miss an episode.
00:02:49.000 Wow, that's pretty amazing.
00:02:51.000 You and me both, Karen.
00:02:52.000 Yeah, that's right.
00:02:53.000 Yeah, because Blake, you do quality control, right?
00:02:56.000 Exactly.
00:02:57.000 So Karen, you and Blake listens through just in case I said something totally wacky or wrong.
00:03:02.000 Blake listens to it on like two times speed.
00:03:05.000 And so you guys make fast friends.
00:03:08.000 So God bless you, Karen.
00:03:09.000 And Karen, I want to thank you for being a member.
00:03:11.000 Means a lot.
00:03:12.000 And so, Karen, offline, if you just email us, freedom at charliekirk.com, we can connect you to the team and make sure that we're all synced up there.
00:03:22.000 Okay?
00:03:22.000 Thank you.
00:03:23.000 Awesome.
00:03:24.000 Love you guys.
00:03:25.000 All right.
00:03:26.000 Karen, thank you.
00:03:27.000 And so now we have Caleb, who is a supporter.
00:03:31.000 I think it is my favorite Caleb, but it could be another Caleb.
00:03:35.000 And by the way, everyone, submit your questions in the QA box, and we need more questions.
00:03:40.000 So do that.
00:03:41.000 Caleb, what's on your mind?
00:03:42.000 Thank you, Charlie.
00:03:43.000 Hey, so this week I just watched Gladiator with Russell Crowe all the way through for the first time.
00:03:49.000 And I know you're a fan of the movie.
00:03:51.000 Yes.
00:03:51.000 And I was wondering, what do you think are the important life lessons of that movie?
00:03:56.000 And what modern-day parallels do you see with our current cultural and political environment?
00:04:01.000 That's a great question.
00:04:02.000 Blake is chomping at the bit.
00:04:04.000 I will start, which is: great rulers can raise bad sons.
00:04:09.000 Definitely.
00:04:10.000 And that's, you know, it's not the most accurate movie, and yet that is the part that is 100% from history.
00:04:15.000 Marcus Aurelius, great emperor.
00:04:17.000 Joaquin Phoenix.
00:04:18.000 Walking Phoenix.
00:04:19.000 Commodus, a terrible emperor.
00:04:21.000 And that was, they had 100 years where they adopted their successor so they could pick a great emperor.
00:04:26.000 He violated that triumph.
00:04:27.000 He broke the rule.
00:04:28.000 And they, you know, we might still have a Roman Empire today if he had to do it.
00:04:31.000 So, Caleb, great question.
00:04:32.000 Blake, let's take some time and explain the context.
00:04:34.000 So there was something called Pax Romano, five great emperors.
00:04:36.000 I only know one of them.
00:04:37.000 What were all five?
00:04:38.000 Five.
00:04:39.000 It was Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius, and Marcus Aurelius.
00:04:43.000 By the way, just so everyone's clear, Blake can name every Roman emperor.
00:04:47.000 It's pretty.
00:04:48.000 Even the really dumb ones.
00:04:49.000 I know Pertinax and all that.
00:04:50.000 No, it's out of question.
00:04:51.000 But so talk about the context, though, of the movie Gladiator, because it's the last of the five.
00:04:55.000 Marcus Aurelius also ends up being a Stoic philosopher, the author of Stoicism, Meditations.
00:05:01.000 But kind of talk about the context of that, because, you know, everyone knows about it as like the fights of Maximus.
00:05:07.000 But there's this incredible, at least the beginning part of the movie is.
00:05:12.000 Exactly, exactly.
00:05:13.000 And so the opening of the film, for anyone who hasn't seen it or doesn't remember, Marcus Aurelius is this old emperor, he's a true philosopher king in the movies in real life.
00:05:23.000 Theorize, yes.
00:05:24.000 You know, he wrote his meditations in private.
00:05:26.000 They're a great work.
00:05:28.000 One of my favorite books.
00:05:28.000 Yes, it's an amazing book that he didn't even write for popular consumption, yet it's lived on to today.
00:05:35.000 And he's everything an emperor should be.
00:05:38.000 He leads from the front.
00:05:40.000 He takes his army on campaign to protect the empire.
00:05:43.000 And that's what an emperor should do.
00:05:45.000 He could live in Rome in these palaces.
00:05:47.000 He could have a thousand wives.
00:05:49.000 He rules a quarter of the known world, as the movie mentions at the start.
00:05:54.000 But he is the man who goes to the front, who takes leadership roles, does everything you need to do.
00:06:00.000 But in the movie, they present him as realizing Commodus is bad and tries to disinherit him and just gets murdered.
00:06:08.000 But in real life, it just seems he wanted his son to take over for him.
00:06:11.000 And that's a weakness many great people.
00:06:13.000 Isn't there, though, some truth that his death was misreported back to the capital, right?
00:06:19.000 I can't recall the specifics on that in real life.
00:06:21.000 I think there was something about how he was sick, and then somebody came in back and said he died, but he didn't.
00:06:26.000 But then Commodus began a really big slip for the Roman Empire, right?
00:06:31.000 Exactly.
00:06:32.000 He was a terrible emperor.
00:06:32.000 He was terrible.
00:06:34.000 He was a huge narcissist and megalomaniac.
00:06:36.000 He tried to rename Rome after himself.
00:06:38.000 I think he called it like Colonia Commodia or something like that.
00:06:42.000 And he did, in fact, fight in the gladiatorial arenas.
00:06:46.000 The fights were rigged.
00:06:48.000 He would.
00:06:49.000 So that's part of the movie is true.
00:06:50.000 That part of the movie is true.
00:06:51.000 He wasn't killed in the arena.
00:06:53.000 He was strangled to death by a wrestler, actually, in the baths.
00:06:56.000 Kind of really.
00:06:57.000 Yes.
00:06:58.000 That's how he actually died.
00:07:00.000 And he reigned for about 10 years, I believe.
00:07:03.000 But he was very much this huge narcissist.
00:07:06.000 And he started this slide where after he dies, there's no good successor to him.
00:07:10.000 And we just get this military dictatorship version of Rome where the emperor of Rome is just whoever's the best fighter.
00:07:16.000 He gets killed all of the time.
00:07:18.000 And it almost destroys the empire.
00:07:20.000 It's only saved by Diocletian and Constantine 100 years later.
00:07:24.000 All right, Blake, Roman emperors.
00:07:25.000 Let's go.
00:07:26.000 You got to close the laptop.
00:07:28.000 All right, here we go.
00:07:29.000 All right.
00:07:29.000 Peer-reviewed.
00:07:30.000 Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Galpa, Otho, Vitellius, Vespasian, Titus, Domitian, Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius, the list Lucius Verus is a co-emperor with Marcus Aurelius.
00:07:47.000 Marcus Aurelius, Commodus.
00:07:49.000 He goes down, and then after Commodus, I believe, is Pertinax, Didius Julianus.
00:07:55.000 Uh-huh.
00:07:56.000 And then Septimius Severus.
00:07:58.000 Yep.
00:07:58.000 And I get a bit muggled here.
00:07:59.000 I think it's Geta and Caracalla, our co-emperors.
00:08:02.000 Geta gets murdered by Caracalla.
00:08:04.000 Then I think it's, is it Macrinus?
00:08:07.000 Then Elagobalis.
00:08:08.000 You're missing one, but it's like a fake one.
00:08:10.000 Is it Diaduminian?
00:08:12.000 Diaduminian.
00:08:13.000 And then Elagobalis goes down.
00:08:15.000 And then after this, it becomes a big old mess.
00:08:17.000 We have a thing called the Third Century Crisis, and there's like all these usurpers, huge disaster.
00:08:22.000 But I think after Elagobalis, is it Gordian the first?
00:08:27.000 Gordian the second.
00:08:29.000 Maximus one.
00:08:30.000 Oh, Maximus.
00:08:31.000 Oh, there's Maximus.
00:08:32.000 Maximinus Daya.
00:08:33.000 Yes.
00:08:33.000 Yeah, Maximinus or something.
00:08:34.000 Maximinus Thrax.
00:08:35.000 Maximinus Thrax.
00:08:37.000 Then, oh, Maximinus Thrax.
00:08:38.000 Oh, there's Severus Alexander.
00:08:40.000 I forgot Severus Alexander, too.
00:08:41.000 Crap.
00:08:42.000 Okay, I'm forgetting people now.
00:08:43.000 Hey, that's impressive, though.
00:08:44.000 Give it up for Blake, everybody.
00:08:46.000 All right.
00:08:46.000 I just think it's wild.
00:08:47.000 I just, it's like a spectacle.
00:08:49.000 It's like, it's just like going to, it's like going to a show and you pay money.
00:08:53.000 But before we move on from Gladiator, just a few things besides the big one, which is, yeah, great men can raise bad sons.
00:08:59.000 I guess a very big thing.
00:09:01.000 Embrace tradition.
00:09:03.000 Embrace tradition.
00:09:04.000 I think the merits of having leaders who are capable in the things that they oversee, that Maximus is a great general, but he's also a capable fighter.
00:09:16.000 Like you understand every level of what you do.
00:09:19.000 Yes.
00:09:19.000 That's what actually makes for the best leaders.
00:09:21.000 The best CEOs are not going to be these corporate raider types who take over or these management consultants.
00:09:28.000 Often the very best CEOs are the ones who like came up through the ranks of the company, who understand how every fast of it works.
00:09:35.000 In the book Good to Great, it actually shows that outside celebrity CEOs are not as good as the people that have actually done the work in the company.
00:09:41.000 This is one of the reasons that family businesses can be so competitive and successful.
00:09:46.000 Imagine you're just groomed to be the heir of this company from 15.
00:09:52.000 Okay, Kirk fans, I need you to stop and pay attention to this.
00:09:56.000 If you deal with exhaustion, brain fog, mood swings, or food cravings, if you're constantly getting sick or simply lack the zeal used to have in life, then I have some news for you.
00:10:06.000 While back, I found a liquid supplement called Strong Cell, and it changed my health in a very profound way.
00:10:11.000 I take it every single day.
00:10:14.000 Look, I knew I had to partner with them.
00:10:15.000 I did the research.
00:10:16.000 Google and look up online what happens when you mix NADH with CoQ10 and marine collagen.
00:10:22.000 It's simple.
00:10:23.000 Every area of your body has cells.
00:10:25.000 So if your cells are healthier, then you will also be healthier.
00:10:29.000 You don't have to take my word for it.
00:10:30.000 Listen to one of these testimonials.
00:10:32.000 After taking Strong Cell for six weeks, I found improvement in many areas: less shoulder pain, improved mental clarity, increased natural energy, and so much more.
00:10:38.000 I'm thankful that Charlie Kirk recommended this to his listeners.
00:10:41.000 Rebecca says, I absolutely love Strong Cell.
00:10:45.000 At first, I didn't think it would make much of a difference for my chronic fatigue, depression, and anxiety, but I thought I'd give it a chance.
00:10:50.000 I've tried to find depression meds for 10 years, and since you Strong Cell, I'm feeling better than I ever have on depression medication.
00:10:57.000 Customer for life, thank you, Charlie Kirk, for recommending this product.
00:11:01.000 So there it is.
00:11:01.000 You've heard from me directly and some of the users who have seen their lives changed by Strong Cell.
00:11:06.000 I personally recommend taking it every day for at least 30 days.
00:11:10.000 I take it every day before I go on the air, and it's helped me in more ways than I can even name.
00:11:14.000 Each of our bodies is very different.
00:11:16.000 So I would recommend you give the supplement at least two to three months to see the changes in your body.

00:11:47.000 We got to get to Dominic.
00:11:48.000 Dominic, thank you for being a member.
00:11:50.000 What is on your mind?
00:11:51.000 Welcome to the program.
00:11:52.000 Dominic.
00:11:53.000 Hello?
00:11:53.000 Yes, Dominic, how are you?
00:11:55.000 Thank you for being a member.
00:11:56.000 What's on your mind?
00:11:57.000 So, I wanted to ask, you came to my campus yesterday at UNLV.
00:12:04.000 Thank you very much.
00:12:05.000 And I wanted to ask, as a person who's on this campus and sees all the stuff that's going on, it's very hard to get, you know, be conservative and all that.
00:12:16.000 I was wondering, what is the alternative?
00:12:19.000 Like, if you're a parent and you want your kids to get like college education, what's the alternative?
00:12:24.000 Great, great question, Dominic.
00:12:26.000 So I think what you said is what is the alternative instead of sending your kid to college?
00:12:30.000 Is that right?
00:12:31.000 Yes.
00:12:31.000 So look, there's a lot of alternatives.
00:12:34.000 If you need to go to college, try to go to the least woke college that you can.
00:12:38.000 You know, Hillsdale College is one of our favorites.
00:12:40.000 Trade or technical school, there are 11 million current job openings in America that do not require a college degree and they pay well.
00:12:46.000 That's not my number.
00:12:47.000 That's from Mike Rowe, who came on the show.
00:12:50.000 And that kind of closing the skills gap and closing the trades gap is something we're very, very passionate about here on the Charlie Kirk show.
00:12:57.000 And so in addition, you can become as well studied, as wise, and as educated on any topic you want in this country, as long as you have a smartphone and an internet connection.
00:13:09.000 So that's what I would say there.
00:13:10.000 Blake, you went to Dartmouth.
00:13:11.000 What would you like to add to that?
00:13:13.000 I would say I think sometimes I think we can oversell the anti-college thing just in the sense that right now, college is important to access a lot of elite professions straight up from professional licensing.
00:13:24.000 You can't be a doctor.
00:13:25.000 And I acknowledge that in the book.
00:13:27.000 And we need elites.
00:13:28.000 You need people who are successful in professions who make money.
00:13:32.000 That is just the building blocks of a powerful movement.
00:13:35.000 So I wouldn't say, what I would say is what's important is reject anything about, you know, you need college just for socialization or for connection or just going for your four-year quasi-vacation that's debt finance.
00:13:48.000 The majority of students are in that category.
00:13:50.000 And that's the issue.
00:13:51.000 Certainly a lot of them are.
00:13:53.000 And what you have to do is you have to realize that college is a means to an end.
00:13:58.000 If you treat it that way, if you focus on, pick a major that is in something you want to do, that you can monetize.
00:14:04.000 And for all of that sort of, oh, I can understand the world or whatever, you can do that on the side.
00:14:11.000 And if you go in with that attitude and try to save as much money as you can, don't focus on prestige.
00:14:16.000 Focus on the credential, getting the degree.
00:14:20.000 You know, what do they call the person who graduated from the 100th ranked med school in America?
00:14:24.000 A doctor.
00:14:25.000 I don't even know if there are 100, but you don't need to worry about this prestige stuff.
00:14:29.000 Don't worry about acculturation.
00:14:30.000 Worry about success.
00:14:31.000 If you're going to penetrate elite society, there's a good reason to do that as long as you can prevent yourself from becoming woke.
00:14:37.000 But just going to go study sociology or whatever, probably not the best option for you.
00:14:41.000 Okay, Matthew, thank you for being a member.
00:14:43.000 What's on your mind?
00:14:44.000 Hey, Charlie, thank you so much.
00:14:45.000 Can you guys hear me okay?
00:14:46.000 I can.
00:14:47.000 Yes.
00:14:47.000 Thank you.
00:14:48.000 The floor is yours.
00:14:50.000 I had an amazing time at the Dream Church conference, by the way, a few weeks ago.
00:14:54.000 That was good.
00:14:55.000 Incredible.
00:14:56.000 And I'm a big fan of what you guys are doing.
00:14:58.000 And we've hosted, I'm sorry, I actually just sprinted to my computer because I heard you say my name, but I'm a little out of breath, but I apologize.
00:15:07.000 But we want to book you.
00:15:08.000 I love your message.
00:15:09.000 I love what you guys are doing.
00:15:11.000 It's so amazing.
00:15:13.000 I went to your last two big conferences you had as well.
00:15:16.000 And we're hosting an event with about 2,000 people in Nashville.
00:15:20.000 And I just want to know how we can book you to speak at that event.
00:15:24.000 Yeah, just, well, thank you.
00:15:25.000 If we can make it work, we'll try our best.
00:15:27.000 Go to free, just you want to email me directly, freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:15:31.000 While you catch your breath, I am curious.
00:15:33.000 What did you like best about the conference, the dream conference?
00:15:36.000 And where are you at church or where are you in ministry?
00:15:38.000 I'm curious.
00:15:39.000 So what I love most is at the end of the third night when everybody marched up that massive mountain and I was the first person to go all the way up to the top of the mountain.
00:15:48.000 And my vision that God gave me was I need to start hosting these events again.
00:15:53.000 Used to host events with 500 people plus in 2021.
00:15:57.000 And I felt him speak to me.
00:15:59.000 And it was just, I can't even explain.
00:16:03.000 And I sat outside that outside area for three or four hours and just listened to, I think his name is Sean Wright worship and sing for the first hour or so.
00:16:15.000 And then after that, just hung around for the last two hours.
00:16:18.000 I've never had that strong of... a spiritual just connection.
00:16:25.000 I can't even explain it.
00:16:26.000 It was so impactful.
00:16:28.000 And even just listening to all the songs and all the pastors, it was incredible.
00:16:35.000 I grew up going to church.
00:16:36.000 My mom and parents, everybody, we all grew up, grew up growing, you know, going to church on the East Coast over in New Jersey, the country part of New Jersey.
00:16:46.000 But being in a whole new area and seeing that campus, I mean, I can ramble on about it for a long time, but it was incredible.
00:16:53.000 And my hat's off to you.
00:16:54.000 And I have so much respect for it.
00:16:56.000 And I stayed the entire time.
00:17:00.000 And I can't thank you enough for bringing so much awareness to that because I'm 26 years old and I dropped out of school.
00:17:09.000 I was going to Rutgers business school and it was very hard to find other people like yourself that stood up against, you know, the mainstream of going to college and everything.
00:17:22.000 And that's why I've followed you so much for the last eight years and you're bringing so much awareness to where people need it.
00:17:27.000 I mean, I believe that our country is spiritually dead.
00:17:30.000 And the fact that you packed the room with over 6,000 people or whatever it was at a conference that just praised God and brought in some incredibly courageous pastors, it was incredible.
00:17:42.000 Well, thank you, man.
00:17:43.000 That means a lot, Matthew.
00:17:44.000 And God bless.
00:17:45.000 Please email me.
00:17:46.000 We'd happy to follow up and, you know, would connect with you.
00:17:50.000 So thanks for being a member, man.
00:17:51.000 God bless.
00:17:52.000 Yes, sir.
00:17:52.000 Thank you, sir.
00:17:55.000 As we've all seen over the past few years, the amount of heavy metals, microplastics, and other toxins we are all exposed to has only increased.
00:18:03.000 These are important world issues we must continue to discuss.
00:18:06.000 And since you know that I take my health seriously, I only stand by the best.
00:18:09.000 One company that is aware of these global challenges and that I proudly support is Ascent Nutrition, which has unique health products meant for these times.
00:18:17.000 One I've been using is their Pine Pollen Tincture, which contains 200 nutrients and important components like glutathione and DHEA.
00:18:27.000 Glutathione is known for healthy detoxification and immune support, while DHEA is known as the happiness hormone and supports mood and brain health.
00:18:36.000 Pine pollen is also nature's highest source of special phytohormones, which support hormone function, libido, and adrenal health.
00:18:45.000 I love it because you could truly feel the benefits.
00:18:48.000 And since I am now telling everyone about it, they expect to sell out fast.
00:18:51.000 Before they sell out, click the link in the description below and use the code Kirk to save 10% on your Pine Pollen Tincture and all other products.
00:19:03.000 Jared, please unmute yourself.
00:19:05.000 Thank you for the support.
00:19:06.000 Jared, what's on your mind?
00:19:07.000 Hey, Charlie, first I wanted to say thank you so much for the podcast.
00:19:11.000 I have chronic Lyme disease and last year I was bedridden and couldn't speak.
00:19:16.000 And your podcast helped me get through it.
00:19:19.000 So super grateful for you and all that you do.
00:19:23.000 Yeah, I'm so sorry to hear that.
00:19:25.000 Lyme can be very dehabilitating.
00:19:27.000 I pray for some recovery or some ability for you to manage those symptoms.
00:19:31.000 But God bless you, Jared.
00:19:33.000 We'll be praying for you.
00:19:34.000 What's on your mind?
00:19:35.000 Thanks.
00:19:36.000 Two quick ones.
00:19:37.000 I live in Buffalo, New York.
00:19:39.000 And don't ask me why, but what would be your suggestion as far as, say, I had $500 to donate?
00:19:49.000 What would be your suggestion to donate?
00:19:52.000 Obviously, Turning Point USA being one of them.
00:19:54.000 Yeah, I mean, I love Turning Point.
00:19:57.000 Here's my best advice to you.
00:19:58.000 And this is, I learned this from the great Dennis Prager, which is: I wouldn't give that $500 to one group.
00:20:04.000 I would split that up.
00:20:06.000 And I want you to make a list of any nonprofit or place that sells services that has blessed you to give back.
00:20:14.000 And so, for example, you know, there's these sport blog websites that I go to for Oregon Dutt football recruiting.
00:20:20.000 And they say, you know, here's our PayPal account.
00:20:22.000 I try to give five bucks, you know, just because I'm using their service all the time.
00:20:26.000 I want to always try to make sure that I'm just not getting something for free.
00:20:30.000 So it could be a nonprofit.
00:20:31.000 It could be a podcast.
00:20:33.000 It could be something like that.
00:20:35.000 And I mean, there's so many great groups out there.
00:20:37.000 I, for one, try to make sure that a significant portion of our family's donation, Eric and I donation, goes towards pro-life ministries.
00:20:46.000 So we make sure that a portion of our tithe is always going towards pro-life.
00:20:52.000 So Pre-Born is one that I highly recommend.
00:20:56.000 We have preborn.org.
00:20:57.000 I think we have a promo code or something, don't we, guys?
00:20:59.000 Preborn.com.
00:21:01.000 And they're a partner of us with us on our program, Jared.
00:21:04.000 So check it out.
00:21:06.000 It's pre-born.com.
00:21:08.000 And so, Jared, I want to just say this, and we could talk offline if you email me.
00:21:12.000 I don't know if you've tried it.
00:21:13.000 I had a friend who's been able to really manage his Lyme disease symptoms using hyperbaric oxygen.
00:21:19.000 So I just feel called to tell you that.
00:21:21.000 I don't know if you've tried it or not, or anyone's told you that.
00:21:24.000 But anyway, we could dialogue offline if you want to email me on that.
00:21:28.000 Yeah, definitely.
00:21:31.000 One more quick second.
00:21:33.000 Did you hear Rubio?
00:21:35.000 That's what he said on Glenn Beck about being VP.
00:21:41.000 He was on Glenn Beck yesterday and Glenn Beck asked him about it and he said, well, no, no one's contacting me.
00:21:51.000 He said, but anyone should be honored to be VP, which got me thinking like most people are like, no, not at all.
00:22:00.000 I'm focusing on my senate seat.
00:22:03.000 So what would be your thoughts on Rubio and that, what he said?
00:22:07.000 Great question, Jared.
00:22:11.000 Of all the U.S. senators that have like celebrity status, I know him the least.
00:22:16.000 I have met him once.
00:22:18.000 We always knew little Marco was going to get on a shot.
00:22:20.000 However, I have a thought crime here.
00:22:22.000 I think that Marco Rubio is a better choice than some of the other establishment picks.
00:22:28.000 Marco has gravitated more on the populist angle economically.
00:22:33.000 He's been very based on stuff.
00:22:34.000 He's legitimately socially conservative.
00:22:37.000 He's legitimately pro-life.
00:22:38.000 He's been good on the trans stuff.
00:22:41.000 He would be able to help us.
00:22:43.000 I know that people don't like to hear this, but he'd be able to help us raise money.
00:22:46.000 And donors love Marco Rubio.
00:22:50.000 Love Marco Rubio.
00:22:51.000 So that would be an ability to help really kind of fill up that gap.
00:22:58.000 And I just, I think it would be fine.
00:23:00.000 I obviously prefer JD Vance over that.
00:23:03.000 But if you said, hey, Marco Rubio or Tim Scott, I would pick Marco Rubio.
00:23:06.000 Marco Rubio or Elise Defonic, I'd pick Marco Rubio.
00:23:09.000 Do you agree with me on that?
00:23:11.000 I feel pretty similarly.
00:23:12.000 Okay.
00:23:12.000 Again, I'm not like a cheerleader for it, but it's just I don't hate it as much.
00:23:16.000 Well, I guess I would ask: what is a big reason people dislike Rubio?
00:23:20.000 I feel like the amnesty stuff.
00:23:22.000 There's a bit of that.
00:23:22.000 The Gang of Eight.
00:23:23.000 Remember, he was like the leader on Gang of Eight.
00:23:25.000 He was there.
00:23:25.000 That's fine.
00:23:26.000 And he kind of did arrogantly and smugly, like, I'm going to get an amnesty deal done.
00:23:29.000 Yeah.
00:23:30.000 And he did, he has been decent on Ukraine.
00:23:34.000 I just checked because I wasn't sure.
00:23:36.000 I think he might have been pro-support earlier, but he's followed the drift of the party overall on that.
00:23:41.000 That's not bad.
00:23:42.000 If anything, maybe you could have the concern that Rubio is a little too swayed by maybe his donors.
00:23:50.000 I know that's always been a concern with him.
00:23:52.000 I guess one of the most boring takes on him, he is really politically popular.
00:23:56.000 He cruised to reelection twice in a state that, you know, at least hold on.
00:24:03.000 He would have to leave Florida.
00:24:04.000 He would.
00:24:05.000 Oh, you're right.
00:24:06.000 It's that Florida thing again.
00:24:08.000 So Trump, buy a house in Wyoming or something.
00:24:12.000 No, Trump is not going to be.
00:24:14.000 He won't.
00:24:14.000 He won't.
00:24:14.000 So that actually is annoying.
00:24:16.000 So, just can you explain that?
00:24:17.000 12th Amendment, you cannot have elections.
00:24:19.000 Electoral votes of Florida would all go.
00:24:21.000 What it is, the reason it is, is every elector makes two votes.
00:24:25.000 They make a vote for president and for vice president.
00:24:28.000 And under the constitutional rules, an elector cannot cast two votes for two people from the same state.
00:24:37.000 And so that is how it functions.
00:24:40.000 In theory, it could still happen.
00:24:42.000 Like you could have, they're unable to elect a vice president, and so it would go to the Congress and they would do you can get weird shenanigans to make it happen, but it's an unnecessary obstacle you don't want to deal with.
00:24:53.000 And in the past, we've worked around it.
00:24:55.000 Notably, Dick Cheney was totally a Texas resident when he was on George W. Bush's ticket.
00:25:00.000 But how do they work around it?
00:25:02.000 He was from, he'd represented Wyoming in Congress.
00:25:04.000 He had ties there.
00:25:05.000 So he just relocated to Wyoming.
00:25:06.000 Okay, so you redomicize it.
00:25:07.000 So he's redominis.
00:25:08.000 It's harder if you're an office holder.
00:25:10.000 Yes, it's way harder.
00:25:11.000 But Trump, I don't think all of a sudden he'll be like, yeah, I'm going to get a condo in Jackson Hole.
00:25:16.000 Exactly, exactly.
00:25:17.000 And he's not going to go back to New York, that's for sure.
00:25:19.000 I believe he was in New York during the last election, but he's fully relocated to Florida now.
00:25:24.000 Yeah, it's sort of annoying.
00:25:26.000 Florida's been such a great state for us that we have all of these great rising stars there who are all great vice presidential material, but we can't use them.
00:25:35.000 That's so funny.
00:25:36.000 It is a funny thing.
00:25:37.000 But I think if you were going to pick a more establishment person, and if Trump really wants to go for his, I want a more diverse ticket because I think it will help me, Rubio's not a bad choice.
00:25:51.000 I think that I agree.
00:25:53.000 I think there's worse choices than Rubio.
00:25:55.000 Okay, Josiah.
00:25:56.000 Yes.
00:25:57.000 What is on your mind?
00:25:58.000 All right.
00:25:58.000 I listened to you in 2019 and I've listened to every episode since then, just because you're the first person that articulated that it's okay to work 100 plus hours a week and just like make stuff happen.
00:26:11.000 So, kind of on the topic about college, I was wondering what did it take besides just like knowledge to actually start Turning Point USA?
00:26:21.000 Because you could have a bunch of knowledge, but like have like lack wisdom to actually apply it in the day-to-day world.
00:26:27.000 Yeah, that is a great question, Josiah.
00:26:31.000 So you have to be willing to take risk and you have to be willing to be willing to step out in a place where there could be a loss.
00:26:39.000 Otherwise, there's no point in creating a business.
00:26:42.000 And you have to obviously be bold in what you do.
00:26:46.000 But this is what I tell people.
00:26:49.000 If you're trying to start your first business, it has to be the only thing you do.
00:26:54.000 Period.
00:26:55.000 It cannot be a side hustle.
00:26:57.000 It cannot be a hobby.
00:26:58.000 I have like a million things going on now.
00:27:00.000 I have now grown into the blessing of diversification.
00:27:04.000 There was no podcast.
00:27:05.000 Is it your greatest strength?
00:27:06.000 Yeah, diversity is now my greatest strength.
00:27:10.000 When I first started Turning Point, there was no podcast.
00:27:12.000 There was no radio.
00:27:13.000 There was really no public speaking.
00:27:14.000 There was really only two things.
00:27:16.000 There's little public speaking.
00:27:17.000 It was just Turning Point and cable news hits.
00:27:19.000 And cable news hits helped me build the idea of Turning Point.
00:27:23.000 And it was like pathological 120 hours a week of just raising money, of traveling the country, of trying to scrap to get Turning Point popular.
00:27:31.000 And so that's what I tell new entrepreneurs and starters.
00:27:34.000 You have to like quit everything you do.
00:27:36.000 And it helps.
00:27:37.000 I mean, again, I'm so happy that I'm married and have a kid.
00:27:40.000 I could not start Turning Point with the life I have now.
00:27:42.000 It's impossible.
00:27:43.000 Like I traveled 330 days.
00:27:44.000 And that's a reason to be aggressive when you're young.
00:27:46.000 Yes, you absorb a failure.
00:27:48.000 Can if turning point had bombed, you could have been, oh, that's too bad.
00:27:51.000 Go get a job.
00:27:51.000 Because the downside's like, whatever.
00:27:52.000 I could go, you know, work somewhere.
00:27:54.000 And it just so happened it caught on thanks to the glory of God.
00:27:57.000 And it was just, it required this insane drive.
00:28:02.000 And that's the final thing I'll say, Josiah, is you have to kind of be maniacal to start something from nothing at a young age.
00:28:08.000 I'm going to intrude here.
00:28:09.000 This is, I was talking about Charlie to another person.
00:28:12.000 Oh, is that right?
00:28:12.000 And I was just describing what I think of him as a boss.
00:28:16.000 And I just said, if this was the 1800s, Charlie would be one of those guys who just moves to Texas and takes over Texas in a span of 10 years.
00:28:25.000 He's always a go-getter.
00:28:28.000 He's the guy who, you know, if there is a news story, if it's like, oh, Congress is doing a thing I don't like, instead of just moping, he's like, what are we going to do about this?
00:28:37.000 I'm going to text all of these people.
00:28:38.000 That is true.
00:28:39.000 Do it.
00:28:39.000 Make the ask.
00:28:41.000 One of the biggest things, you have agency as a person.
00:28:44.000 And of all the people I know, Charlie is one of the most agentic.
00:28:48.000 He has very high personal agency.
00:28:51.000 He's like, why can't I change the world?
00:28:52.000 Well, that's very sweet, Blake.
00:28:54.000 Thank you.
00:28:55.000 And I don't know if I'd conquer Texas, but maybe West Texas.
00:28:58.000 Maybe like Midland.
00:29:02.000 The world is in flames, and biotinomics is a complete and total disaster.
00:29:06.000 But it can't and won't ruin my day.
00:29:08.000 Why?
00:29:09.000 Because I start my day with a hot America first cup of blackout coffee.
00:29:13.000 It's 100% America and 0% Grift.

00:29:36.000 That's blackoutcoffee.com/slash Charlie.
00:29:39.000 Check it out, promo code Charlie.
00:29:43.000 So let's get to another question here while we have time.
00:29:46.000 This one is freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:29:48.000 This one's for you, Blake.
00:29:50.000 Actually, super impressed by Blake's knowledge.
00:29:52.000 How did you learn all of this?
00:29:53.000 Did you learn it in college?
00:29:55.000 History especially.
00:29:56.000 I love history, but Blake blows me away.
00:29:58.000 That is Dale from Iowa.
00:29:59.000 So I did study history in college.
00:30:02.000 I would probably not recommend this to people, to be honest.
00:30:05.000 You were a history major?
00:30:06.000 I was a history major.
00:30:08.000 I thought I was going to go to law school.
00:30:09.000 And the tip: if you're going to go to law school, don't major in pre-law.
00:30:13.000 They do this scam.
00:30:15.000 All you need to do, the only thing they care about is your GPA and your LSAT score.
00:30:18.000 So I was like, okay, I'm going to max out my GPA by studying a subject I'm good at.
00:30:22.000 And then I'll go to law school.
00:30:23.000 And then I noticed all the lawyers that I knew wanted to jump out of buildings.
00:30:27.000 And so I relatively late, I did the LSAT.
00:30:32.000 I did applications.
00:30:34.000 You did well, I'm sure.
00:30:34.000 I had good options.
00:30:35.000 I had very good schools I could have gone to.
00:30:38.000 But I just thought, am I going to be 70 and be happy that I chose to be a lawyer?
00:30:44.000 And maybe I could have.
00:30:45.000 I know some lawyers who have done some exciting stuff, but I just, I wasn't ready to commit to it.
00:30:50.000 So I did a journalism path instead.
00:30:53.000 But as for how I know it stuff, it's just, there's really no substitute for just loving it and reading a ton of it.
00:31:00.000 It's not a thing you can easily digest.
00:31:02.000 You have a passion for it.
00:31:02.000 You just have to have a passion for it and you really marinate in it.
00:31:06.000 And there is, you know, it's always uncool these days to say, like, oh, kids, they shouldn't memorize facts.
00:31:13.000 They should learn how to.
00:31:14.000 No, no, no, no.
00:31:15.000 Memorization is the significant thing.
00:31:16.000 Memorization is, that is how you understand the world.
00:31:19.000 And it's how you understand when people are lying to you.
00:31:21.000 They come out and they say, oh, America's a nation of immigrants or whatever.
00:31:26.000 And if you know enough stuff, you're able to actually assess that claim honestly.
00:31:31.000 And you can understand where it comes from and also what's misleading about it.
00:31:36.000 And the bedrock for that is just you've got to know things.
00:31:40.000 You should know who the U.S. presidents are.
00:31:42.000 What did they do?
00:31:43.000 What was the country like in the past?
00:31:45.000 And this is just something that builds up over the course of your life.
00:31:48.000 I find every year I just kind of add a new thing to my repertoire.
00:31:52.000 So early on, I knew U.S. history.
00:31:54.000 Then I added Rome, which I still think about every day, of course.
00:31:57.000 Every day.
00:31:58.000 And then you expand.
00:31:59.000 You add Russia.
00:32:00.000 You add Spain.
00:32:02.000 You add the Middle Ages.
00:32:03.000 And I'm just always finding new stuff that appeals to me.
00:32:06.000 I just read a history of Texas, a history of Mexico.
00:32:08.000 Yeah, and it's important to understand it's not just about remembering facts, but also trends, what people do, outliers, what people are doing.
00:32:14.000 What people's lives were like.
00:32:15.000 Yes.
00:32:16.000 What failed?
00:32:17.000 It's a study in humanity, is really what it is.
00:32:19.000 All right, great question.
00:32:20.000 We're going to take two from some of you that are members.
00:32:23.000 Okay, they want to remain anonymous, but they are members.
00:32:27.000 Okay, regarding the spending bill, help me understand why can't Speaker Johnson shut down the government for all essential services, everything except essential services, military veteran, Medicare, Social Security.
00:32:37.000 Well, he can.
00:32:38.000 It just wouldn't be, it wouldn't be politically prudent this close to an election.
00:32:42.000 I'm not sure he could at this point.
00:32:44.000 Even why?
00:32:44.000 The way I like to frame it, and I was telling you this morning, is you're not really led by what the overall Republican majority thinks.
00:32:53.000 The person with the most power among all the Republicans right now is basically the third most liberal member because you're thinking that's the number of people who need to defect, and we get Speaker Hakeem Jeffries.
00:33:07.000 And so if there are three Republicans who just categorically say, I will not defund the government ever, period, I have promised not to do this.
00:33:16.000 I think it is bad.
00:33:17.000 And I am willing to help the Democrats to make sure that doesn't happen, then we can't shut down the government because they will defect.
00:33:24.000 Yes.
00:33:24.000 And you just need that part of unity.
00:33:27.000 This is why small majorities are bad and why it's really bad to intentionally shrink your majority by kicking out.
00:33:33.000 By kicking out George Santos and having Kevin McCarthy resigned.
00:33:36.000 He's an embarrassment.
00:33:37.000 He's a criminal.
00:33:38.000 Okay, granted, but we have a majority of three seats or whatever it is now.
00:33:43.000 And so you have to, you know, politics is the art of the possible.
00:33:48.000 You want to exist in the realm of reality.
00:33:50.000 And that's why we should have done it last fall.
00:33:52.000 They were all exhausted from that speaker fight.
00:33:54.000 They wouldn't want to do it again.
00:33:56.000 We had a bigger majority then.
00:33:57.000 Just do the shutdown fight then.
00:34:00.000 Now it's people are going to defect.
00:34:02.000 It's closer to an election.
00:34:04.000 We're up in the polls, so chaos is bad for us.
00:34:06.000 You don't want to do stuff that, I guess, for lack of a better term, messes up a politically advantageous situation.
00:34:13.000 And those are all the obstacles to making it happen.
00:34:16.000 And I wish Speaker Johnson was able to do this and wanted to do it, but I don't think the situation's there now.
00:34:23.000 This one says, what are your take on chemtrails?
00:34:26.000 All that's happening over.
00:34:27.000 Also, any thoughts regarding the upcoming eclipse and hitting meetings about it?
00:34:30.000 I don't want to get into the chemtrails stuff because I don't have any strong opinions on it.
00:34:32.000 But the eclipse, you're like traveling to go to the train.
00:34:35.000 Charlie, I am, well, I'll still work, but I will be in the city of Austin, Texas to gaze upon the eclipse, which I have to be there because as we all know, when the sun is covered up by the moon, it causes a demonic magical resonance and the end is nigh and it allows Satan to penetrate the real world.
00:34:52.000 And only, you know, divine warriors will be able to drive him back into the abyss and save our existence.
00:34:57.000 More seriously, it's just an astronomical phenomenon.
00:35:03.000 I don't want to say it's once in a lifetime, but there are not a lot of these.
00:35:06.000 This will be the only eclipse in the U.S. for decades.
00:35:10.000 And I like to always try to live a life of wonder to see things that are rare and unusual and that I can hopefully remember fondly.
00:35:19.000 And it's an excuse to hang out with my friends in Austin.
00:35:21.000 So this last question here, Brian said, Charlie, love being a member.
00:35:25.000 You said you were going to post on TikTok.
00:35:27.000 How's that going?
00:35:27.000 It's funny.
00:35:28.000 We just got, did you see this?
00:35:29.000 We just got a notice.
00:35:30.000 We posted one of my campus videos.
00:35:32.000 It was going viral on TikTok.
00:35:33.000 Ryan did on a fan page.
00:35:35.000 It says, we violated their hate speech and hateful behavior clause.
00:35:38.000 Oh, no.
00:35:39.000 We're going to have to ban TikTok now.
00:35:41.000 TikTok is enriched by various backgrounds.
00:35:43.000 What is my violation?
00:35:44.000 I said that blacks are 13% of the population and they commit 55% of the murders.
00:35:49.000 That is unfortunate.
00:35:50.000 That's unfortunately true.
00:35:51.000 We would like to fix that.
00:35:54.000 Yes.
00:35:54.000 In fact, we have ideas.
00:35:56.000 Yeah.
00:35:56.000 Fathers in the home, things of that nature.
00:35:58.000 And so according to TikTok, that is hate speech.
00:36:02.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
