00:00:36.000 We go.
00:00:37.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:39.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:00:41.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:00:44.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:00:48.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:00:49.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:00:50.000 His spirit, his love of this country.
00:00:52.000 He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created.
00:00:57.000 Turning point USA.
00:00:58.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.

00:01:22.000 At some point, everyone reaches their breaking point.
00:01:27.000 Our friendly neighbors to the north, the Canadians, they seem to have reached their breaking point over the weekend.
00:01:34.000 Now, if you have not heard about this news story, I just want to emphasize the power of the activist press to be able to suppress and to be able to distract and cover up legitimate stories that are happening in real time.
00:01:55.000 The trucker convoy that has happened all across Canada is nothing short of miraculous.
00:02:01.000 Traveling thousands of miles to the capital city of Ottawa, the Canadian truckers, supported by millions of their fellow Canadians, waltzed right into Ottawa to demand an end to the vaccine mandates.
00:02:18.000 Now, this has been covered, if at all, by the media as trying to propagandize you to believe that this is some sort of fringe minority.
00:02:27.000 Justin Trudeau himself called this a fringe group with unacceptable views.
00:02:33.000 You might wonder, where is Justin Trudeau?
00:02:35.000 Well, Justin Trudeau, despite being triple vaxxed, boosted, and masking all the time, he has contracted COVID.
00:02:43.000 It's funny how those vaccine mandates work.
00:02:45.000 Justin Trudeau tweeted out, he said, I have COVID, now go get vaccinated.
00:02:52.000 Or so he says.
00:02:53.000 Maybe that's just an excuse not to address the people in the streets of Ottawa.
00:02:59.000 Now, what's happening in Canada is nothing short of a revival of the citizen.
00:03:06.000 You see, the people need to be rulers of their civilization, not subjects.
00:03:12.000 It is the people who are the sovereign.
00:03:15.000 The representatives, like Justin Trudeau, are supposed to serve at the will of the people.
00:03:22.000 That paradigm has been upside down for quite some time.
00:03:26.000 And Canada is a very interesting example.
00:03:28.000 And Canada is no different, by the way, than San Francisco or Seattle or Portland or New York City in this regard.
00:03:33.000 Which is the very same hand that gives you the stimulus check is the same hand that will force the jab into your shoulder.
00:03:44.000 The very same hand that will make you feel safe for the time being by locking everyone down at home is the same hand that will put a mask on your six-year-old daughter.
00:03:57.000 Put simply, the hand that feeds you is also the hand that will mandate you.
00:04:03.000 So, Canada is an interesting example for a variety of different reasons.
00:04:07.000 One of which is that Canada has always had this kind of very pleasant atmosphere of living, of existing as neighbors to one another, a very peaceful people, one might call it.
00:04:25.000 A very agreeable people as well.
00:04:29.000 But Canada is also this very interesting example, and Trudeau is a great embodiment of it, of where liberalism takes you.
00:04:39.000 So, Trudeau has been an advocate of decriminalizing almost all drugs, been an advocate of the transgender movement.
00:04:46.000 Oh, you just must tolerate them, we are told.
00:04:49.000 We must just accept it.
00:04:51.000 But at the back end of every liberal movement or the liberalization of people is the inevitable clenched fist that is going to terrorize you.
00:05:06.000 You see, Trudeau positions himself to the people of Canada as a tolerant, almost a 1970s hippie who went too far north in Woodstock and somehow stumbled into the lands of Canada and he's never left.
00:05:21.000 He positions himself as someone who says, we are an accepting, open-minded people.
00:05:25.000 I could play tape after tape after tape after tape of Trudeau saying, we as Canadians, our values are open-mindedness and global thinking.
00:05:35.000 But almost immediately, when their power is threatened or when they see an opening, they go from someone who is allegedly very tolerant and very open-minded to a third world dictator, saying that we're going to shut down the entire country.
00:05:51.000 We are going to arrest pastors.
00:05:53.000 We are going to do whatever it takes to stop the spread of the invisible virus.
00:06:04.000 How's the American media treating this?
00:06:05.000 Well, cut five, Morning Joe called the truckers a cult and complained that they're vandalizing national monuments.
00:06:12.000 Oh, did you call BLM a cult when they were ripping down statues or when they were burning down federal buildings?
00:06:19.000 Of course not.
00:06:20.000 Play cut five.
00:06:21.000 The demonstrations were initially aimed at pushback against vaccine mandates for truck drivers crossing the U.S.-Canada border.
00:06:29.000 But the movement escalated into an expression of disapproval with the Canadian government's COVID-19 policies.
00:06:37.000 Officials say several investigations are underway into reports of severe vandalism and criminal behavior, including the desecration of national monuments.
00:06:48.000 Now they have met the enemy, and the enemy, their enemy, is themselves, because they've become what they hated.
00:06:56.000 Coming up.
00:06:57.000 That's a cult.
00:07:01.000 You ever call BLM a cult?
00:07:03.000 Of course not.
00:07:05.000 These are normal people.
00:07:06.000 These are truckers that are trying to fight for their freedom.
00:07:09.000 My heart goes out to them because it's just a matter of time before the Canadian government really locks down on them, clamps down on them.
00:07:16.000 The question is, will the Canadian police and the Canadian military actually take the orders?
00:07:23.000 We'll see.
00:07:24.000 Play cut six, convoy protesters carefully clean and take care of the Terry Fox Memorial in downtown Ottawa, the exact opposite of what they are told is happening.
00:07:33.000 Play cut six.
00:07:41.000 They're literally cleaning the memorial, not vandalizing the memorial.
00:07:47.000 A Canadian trucker was asked, how long will you stay in Ottawa?
00:07:52.000 Play cut 12.
00:07:53.000 Why did you feel it was important to come to the event?
00:07:56.000 Because I want to fight for the freedoms of Canada and my grandchildren and my kids.
00:08:02.000 All right, and how long do you plan on staying?
00:08:06.000 I plan on staying until it's over.
00:08:07.000 Until Justin resigns, all mandates are lifted.
00:08:12.000 All right, and what would you say to Trudeau if he was here right now?
00:08:16.000 I would ask him if he's going to listen to the people and let the people have a choice.
00:08:22.000 Because we don't have a choice in his legislation.
00:08:27.000 Awesome.
00:08:28.000 Anything else that you want to add?
00:08:32.000 Freedom!
00:08:35.000 It's a beautiful thing.
00:08:37.000 They're going to get clamped down on very quickly by the Canadian government.
00:08:40.000 They're going to call him domestic terrorists.
00:08:42.000 Just wait.
00:08:42.000 They're going to say, we have a domestic terrorist uprising.
00:08:45.000 I guarantee you that Justin Trudeau is on the phone right now with his friends from the FBI in America.
00:08:51.000 How do I deal with this?
00:08:52.000 Just call them domestic terrorists and everything gets better.
00:08:56.000 He's probably asking American intelligence to spy on them because technically they can because it's a foreign country.
00:09:02.000 He's probably asking the NSA, hey, can you spy on them and get some intelligence on who these people are, who's organizing them?
00:09:10.000 People are rising up in Canada.
00:09:13.000 Citizens want their country back.
00:09:15.000 There's so much more I want to cover with that.

00:10:52.000 I talked to some friends in Canada over the weekend, great people, really godly and strong and American-loving people.
00:11:03.000 And they said to me, Charlie, I told you, you know, we Canadians are really polite, but you push us so much, we're going to fight back.
00:11:12.000 And that's what's happening right now in Canada.
00:11:15.000 And what's been amazing to see is how the American media has joined in the chorus of trying to clamp down on these Canadian truckers.
00:11:25.000 But what would you expect?
00:11:28.000 It's not like it's the Canadian transgender march.
00:11:32.000 It's not the Canadian Indigenous Peoples march.
00:11:36.000 No, this is the muscular class.
00:11:37.000 And guess what?
00:11:38.000 I guarantee it, you ready?
00:11:39.000 If this thing continues, I'm going to make a prediction here.
00:11:42.000 Somebody somewhere is going to say, well, it's a mostly white trucker group.
00:11:48.000 Well, this is the muscular class.
00:11:52.000 The very same group of people that the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, George Soros, Bezos, all these people have total contempt for.
00:12:04.000 What you are seeing happen in Canada is a blue-collar revival.
00:12:11.000 We need truckers to keep our entire supply chain together.
00:12:18.000 Also, just from like kind of a lack of wisdom perspective, Trudeau, not exactly smart to antagonize truckers when you already can't get food and things on the shelves.
00:12:28.000 Not exactly wise, but he doesn't care.
00:12:32.000 Trudeau came out of hiding to prophesy that there will be three more months of winter.
00:12:38.000 Oh, no, that's the Groundhog.
00:12:39.000 I'm sorry.
00:12:40.000 That happens tomorrow, right?
00:12:40.000 February 1st.
00:12:41.000 Is that right?
00:12:42.000 Am I right?
00:12:43.000 Groundhog Day?
00:12:45.000 It's a great movie with Bill Murray.
00:12:47.000 Justin Trudeau, there has been a sighting.
00:12:50.000 We found him.
00:12:52.000 Man, he looks like Fidel Castro.
00:12:54.000 Oh, my goodness, does he look like Fidel Castro?
00:12:57.000 Acts like him too.
00:12:57.000 Play cut 14.
00:13:01.000 Hello, everyone.
00:13:02.000 Bonjour tourmont.
00:13:06.000 This morning, I'd like to address the millions of Canadians who are making responsible decisions to ensure their safety and the safety of their lives.
00:13:16.000 I know that this pandemic has been frustrating.
00:13:19.000 After two years, the battle against COVID-19 is still dominating so many parts of our lives.
00:13:25.000 This virus affects us all.
00:13:29.000 So can we play cut 13 of Pierre Poliva?
00:13:33.000 I love all these French names, by the way.
00:13:34.000 I'm just getting up to date of Canadian politics.
00:13:37.000 Pierre Poliver, do we have that?
00:13:38.000 Okay, this is a member of parliament in Canada.
00:13:40.000 Play cut 13.
00:13:42.000 Governments have taken advantage of COVID to try and take away our freedom and give themselves more power.
00:13:49.000 Starting with Trudeau, whose deputy PM said that this was a political opportunity.
00:13:53.000 And that's how the Liberals have viewed this from the very beginning.
00:13:56.000 It's a political opportunity.
00:13:57.000 And right now, they're trying to win popularity by targeting what they perceive as an unpopular minority and to spread fear, keep everyone afraid for as long as possible is what the Liberals are doing.
00:14:10.000 So we have to replace that fear with freedom and optimism.
00:14:13.000 So that's why we're here.
00:14:14.000 Yeah.
00:14:15.000 So why does Trudeau have such contempt for the truckers?
00:14:20.000 Well, very simply, Trudeau has contempt for those who do work that he could never do.
00:14:26.000 You think that Trudeau could actually ever lift a box or actually ever drive a car?
00:14:31.000 Of course, I mean, he could drive a car, of course, I'm saying, but it's tough work.
00:14:34.000 Trudeau's a very weak person.
00:14:36.000 He was born into a political family, never worked an honest day in his life.
00:14:42.000 He's been the worst prime minister of my life of Canada.
00:14:44.000 I don't follow Canadian politics that closely, but he has been just so incredibly tyrannical and out of touch with the people of Canada for quite some time.
00:14:57.000 And he almost has no self-awareness of how shallow he is, what constituency he's serving.
00:15:05.000 I'm not exactly sure.
00:15:06.000 Do we have that tape?
00:15:08.000 Which one?
00:15:09.000 16?
00:15:10.000 Yeah?
00:15:11.000 Play cut 16.
00:15:13.000 I have attended protests and rallies in the past when I agreed with the goals, when I supported the people expressing their concerns and their issues.
00:15:23.000 Black Lives Matter is an excellent example of that.
00:15:26.000 But I have also chosen to not go anywhere near protests that have expressed hateful rhetoric, violence towards fellow citizens, and a disrespect not just of science, but of the frontline health workers and, quite frankly, the 90% of truckers who have been doing the right thing to keep incredible.
00:15:49.000 No, BLM is fine.
00:15:50.000 All that burning and looting, just blowing off steam.
00:15:53.000 Peaceful truckers to Ottawa, you're the problem.
00:15:56.000 There's a collision, Course, between the elites and the people, and it's playing out in Canada right now.
00:16:04.000 Right now, with us is Richard Barris from Big Data Polls, smarter and better looking than Nate Silver.
00:16:10.000 And Richard, welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:16:12.000 I love that introduction.
00:16:14.000 Thanks for having me back, Charlie.
00:16:15.000 It's good to be here.
00:16:16.000 Every time.
00:16:16.000 So I'm hearing a lot of different whispers from people.
00:16:18.000 I'm getting some calls from senators and congressmen.
00:16:22.000 And I was texting last night with some people that are rather important, all about this issue of maps.
00:16:28.000 Now, I know some people might be listening to this on radio and say, what are you talking about?
00:16:32.000 Maps.
00:16:33.000 Okay.
00:16:33.000 Every 10 years, we have to redraw our maps, congressional maps, because of the census.
00:16:40.000 And Richard, in certain states, let's start with New York.
00:16:42.000 It is a bloodbath.
00:16:44.000 Take it away.
00:16:45.000 Yeah, Republicans are timid.
00:16:48.000 They're playing a timid game here.
00:16:50.000 You look at somewhere like New York, California, even out in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon, New Mexico.
00:16:57.000 What Democrats are generally doing, which we should have expected because people like Alyssa Slotkin openly said they would.
00:17:04.000 Mark Elias and company and the Driple C are using more urban votes to carve out the swingy areas and also more right-leaning areas to basically dilute those votes with larger urban votes.
00:17:18.000 Now, their argument is it's all about population, Charlie, but it's not.
00:17:23.000 I mean, every state can be a little bit different.
00:17:26.000 Some states have a legislature doing it.
00:17:28.000 Others like California have a commission doing it.
00:17:31.000 The bottom line is, and Virginia, by the way, Sean Trendy from Rookie Politics was on that.
00:17:36.000 And Virginia is another example.
00:17:38.000 It's not all about population.
00:17:40.000 It's also about geography.
00:17:41.000 And there's a reason why it is.
00:17:43.000 People have to be represented.
00:17:45.000 Urban America is very different.
00:17:47.000 So in New York, using Albany to carve out rural votes to the north, it's obvious what they're doing.
00:17:54.000 Now, the latest one in New York with the fourth Republican seat, the latest proposal is not terrible.
00:18:01.000 It's not as good as the other one.
00:18:02.000 They were trying to go as low as two Republican seats.
00:18:05.000 But what they're doing, and they did this in New York, is either completely miss the deadline, Charlie, or wait until the very last minute.
00:18:12.000 And that is to avoid public commenting.
00:18:16.000 So, or at least to shorten it so they don't get completely battered by the public over it.
00:18:22.000 But they're planning to win, and Republicans are playing timid, as always.
00:18:26.000 So what are some of the other states?
00:18:28.000 Because this was supposed to be a good kind of redistricting cycle for Republicans, but it's turning out not to be.
00:18:37.000 What are some of the other states that aren't going the direction they should be?
00:18:40.000 Right.
00:18:41.000 So they use Portland.
00:18:42.000 They basically carved Portland up into three different areas.
00:18:46.000 Actually, I think the latest map was four to dilute some of the member Dino Rossi.
00:18:52.000 He's another one out in Washington state where they tried to basically use the more urban areas, but Albuquerque, New Mexico is another one.
00:18:59.000 They split it right down the middle, basically diluting the rest of the vote statewide.
00:19:04.000 And in California, Devin Nunez was completely written out.
00:19:08.000 And I have the inside story because I was involved there.
00:19:11.000 At the very last minute, the deadline, the commission completely blew past it.
00:19:16.000 They had all of these different iterations that received public comment.
00:19:20.000 And then at the very last minute, the establishments from the parties and special interest groups, which I don't know what LGBT special interest groups have to do with redistricting, but they came in and they just wrote a totally new map.
00:19:33.000 And that's the map the commission adopted.
00:19:35.000 Devin Nunez was still written out of that map, but also David Valadeo, his seat is now D plus 10.
00:19:41.000 He's probably going to lose.
00:19:42.000 I don't know how he, even in a good year, it may be hard for David to hold on.
00:19:47.000 And, you know, Kevin McCarthy's sitting pretty, but that's really those maps are designed to keep challengers out to benefit the left and then keep out challengers.
00:19:57.000 And that's what happened.
00:19:58.000 Now, aren't there some court rulings, though, that show they can't explicitly gerrymander or the Democrats just ignoring that and they're going ahead and doing it anyway?
00:20:06.000 They're good at shopping.
00:20:07.000 I mean, this is what Mark Elias does.
00:20:09.000 You know, and then again, it's like there was a judge who said it once: you know, it's difficult to define gerrymandering.
00:20:15.000 It's like pornography.
00:20:16.000 It's difficult to define, but you know it when you see it.
00:20:19.000 So they're very good at that.
00:20:22.000 That map in New York will survive probably if it's if they leave the four R map.
00:20:27.000 That will probably survive a court challenge.
00:20:29.000 Out in California, nobody's even trying, Charlie.
00:20:31.000 Nobody's even trying.
00:20:32.000 In fact, they wrote a new district, which is actually very winnable.
00:20:36.000 I polled it.
00:20:37.000 It's the new CD 13.
00:20:39.000 They beefed up Jim Costa, who was in danger of losing his old seat in 16, the old 16, even though he had won it by 20-something points.
00:20:47.000 That's how bad Republicans are beating Democrats in these districts right now.
00:20:52.000 But CD 13 is up for grabs.
00:20:54.000 Adam Gray, a Democrat, is getting all the local Republican support.
00:20:58.000 I kid you not.
00:21:00.000 This is the, it's really when it comes down to it, you know, voters, Republican voters need to demand more from their leaders because they just roll over, buddy.
00:21:10.000 I mean, they just roll right over.
00:21:11.000 So talk about these alleged independent redistricting commissions.
00:21:14.000 They're anything but independent, is what it seems.
00:21:16.000 It seems like it's always so talk about that.
00:21:19.000 Yeah.
00:21:19.000 So, you know, full disclosure, I poll for David Giglio.
00:21:24.000 He's running in the new 13.
00:21:26.000 So this is how I saw this process.
00:21:29.000 They are not at all.
00:21:30.000 Yeah, they are not at all impartial.
00:21:35.000 Even the Republicans are your typical kind of establishment.
00:21:39.000 I don't like using the word moderate.
00:21:41.000 Moderate means you don't know what.
00:21:43.000 If you're moderate, then you don't know what you believe.
00:21:45.000 I don't know what that means.
00:21:47.000 But basically, they are more timid Republicans.
00:21:50.000 They know they are outvoted in that state.
00:21:52.000 So they just play nice.
00:21:54.000 Even in the, again, it's not really nonpartisan.
00:21:57.000 The idea that these are not like legislatures.
00:22:00.000 So they're not politically motivated at all is totally ridiculous.
00:22:05.000 I mean, I see people like David Washerman and others making that, you know, making that argument.
00:22:10.000 That's nonsense.
00:22:11.000 They pick up the phone from special interest groups.
00:22:14.000 They know everybody.
00:22:15.000 Everybody's got a friend.
00:22:16.000 That's how you end up on that commission.
00:22:18.000 And the reason I don't like them is because in Virginia, for instance, if the voters of Virginia don't like that map and they're mad, they can hold their state legislature accountable.
00:22:27.000 They can't do that now.
00:22:29.000 How can they hold Sean Trendy accountable, right?
00:22:31.000 They can't.
00:22:32.000 So they just completely take this power out of the hands of voters and put it into the hands of commissions, which everybody, everybody got a say in who gets on it.
00:22:42.000 And then everybody gets a call into their buddy to make sure that their seat is either shirt up or another challenger is drawn out.
00:22:51.000 It's nonsense.
00:22:52.000 It's nonpartisan.
00:22:52.000 So coming in coming into November, we're told there's going to be a red wave.
00:22:56.000 I believe that.
00:22:57.000 But if the maps are so terrible, that red wave might turn from an R plus 35 majority to an R plus 10 or 15.
00:23:05.000 How bad is it nationwide?
00:23:06.000 Truly, maybe I'm misreading this, Richard, but are Republicans generally losing the redistricting fight nationwide?
00:23:14.000 Yeah, they are.
00:23:15.000 Absolutely.
00:23:16.000 And then in states like North Carolina, they were bold in North Carolina.
00:23:20.000 And I would argue they, they, you know, everyone's different, right?
00:23:23.000 Everyone has a different opinion.
00:23:25.000 Somebody on the left probably would not like what happened in North Carolina, but that's, you know, like you said, every 10 years we get the census.
00:23:33.000 The general consensus in North Carolina was that Eastern North Carolina did not get surveyed properly.
00:23:40.000 So there's that argument there.
00:23:41.000 Republicans are fighting in a state like that.
00:23:43.000 But Florida, which is getting more and more Republican every day, they just, I mean, the governor has to come out and say, this is what the map should look like.
00:23:53.000 I mean, that's how ridiculous Republicans are.
00:23:55.000 That being said, even in the latest poll we just put out a few days ago, it's Republican plus seven on the generic ballot.
00:24:02.000 That's a big lead, Charlie.
00:24:03.000 I mean, this is my fear, though, Richard, though.
00:24:06.000 I agree.
00:24:07.000 But in six years from now, all of a sudden we're going to be dealing with such bad maps.
00:24:11.000 And let's say the generic is D plus three, and it becomes a blowout beyond anything we should have ever happened, right?
00:24:18.000 So why are Republicans?
00:24:21.000 Yeah, that concerns valid, Charlie.
00:24:22.000 That concerns valid.
00:24:24.000 Why are Republicans so sheepish with this?
00:24:26.000 Because 10 years ago, Republicans were rather enthusiastic about designing maps that would benefit Republicans.
00:24:34.000 And look, I wish it wasn't the case.
00:24:36.000 I wish we lived in a different country where everyone got along, but it's kind of brass knuckle politics.
00:24:40.000 It's like, okay, in New York, you're going to turn Lee Zeldon's district from R plus 4 to D plus 11.
00:24:46.000 Like, okay, welcome to Texas.
00:24:48.000 We're not going to let that happen.
00:24:49.000 You know, that's the way it should work.
00:24:51.000 But it seems like Republicans are trying to take this alleged higher road or higher ground.
00:24:55.000 Or is it they're afraid of the DOJ or what is it?
00:24:58.000 I can't quite understand it.
00:25:00.000 Yeah, you know, I talked to some, you just mentioned Texas.
00:25:03.000 I really think that some of it is, you know, regular Republican weakness, which is something we've been dealing with for a long time.
00:25:11.000 In 10, they had to undo a lot of Democratic dominance with the boundaries.
00:25:17.000 You know, Democrats screaming gerrymandering over a place like Texas.
00:25:20.000 Democrats had jerried for the better part of the 20th century going into the new millennium.
00:25:25.000 So this was kind of a ridiculous argument to make.
00:25:30.000 But Republicans this time around, I think they are afraid of the DOJ.
00:25:34.000 I do.
00:25:34.000 And I know some are in Texas.
00:25:37.000 So I did speak to somebody and they were lamenting: you know, look over to the West.
00:25:42.000 Just right to look at what they did with Albuquerque and they're having a problem with us.
00:25:45.000 They're going to target us.
00:25:46.000 You know, when people play political lawfare, then things get crazy, Charlie.
00:25:51.000 You know, they get crazy and people, you know, they fear it.
00:25:56.000 They do.
00:25:57.000 Yeah, Republicans are not going to fight.
00:25:59.000 Yeah, they're not ready for the government at all.
00:26:01.000 So what state, if any, is going well for Republicans in redistricting?
00:26:07.000 North Carolina went well.
00:26:08.000 Ohio went well because the fear there was that DeWine was going to be kind of weak and not spearheaded.
00:26:16.000 But that did all right.
00:26:18.000 Florida, folks, you got to look at Florida.
00:26:21.000 The Governor DeSantis' map that he released, I think, is a little bit ridiculous, but it's a beginning bargaining position, right?
00:26:28.000 So you start with what your most ideal situation would be, and then you guys kind of trade and horse trade for the rest.
00:26:37.000 That's the way it's done.
00:26:39.000 So in Florida, it could really turn out, Charlie, where Democrats get at least one seat, maybe two, that they really shouldn't have anymore.
00:26:46.000 And by the way, just so everybody, I really have to mention this.
00:26:50.000 This is why Trump wanted the census to ask about immigration status.
00:26:54.000 No kidding.
00:26:55.000 Because Albany and Kings County, they wouldn't be able to make these arguments if we knew the percentage of the people.
00:27:04.000 So we count illegals in the census.
00:27:07.000 So we have foreign nationals that are counted in our allocation of citizens.

00:28:17.000 So, how popular is Joe Biden, Richard?
00:28:20.000 Pretty unpopular.
00:28:21.000 So, the last, and I told people this was going to happen.
00:28:24.000 Joe Biden does not have a base.
00:28:26.000 Excuse me.
00:28:27.000 Everybody needs to remember this as we move forward.
00:28:30.000 He never had a base.
00:28:32.000 He was, we called him the great unremarkable.
00:28:34.000 You know, Donald Trump had 40% of the country, 38%, 40%.
00:28:38.000 It would constantly tell us they strongly approve of the job he does.
00:28:41.000 No matter what he did, it wasn't going to budge.
00:28:43.000 Obama was the same way.
00:28:45.000 Joe Biden is always in mired in the 20s with that number if he's lucky.
00:28:50.000 Strongly disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing.
00:28:53.000 Charlie is now at the number Trump and Obama had for people who love them, who strongly approved of them.
00:29:00.000 So, after COVID, it became clear on COVID where he did have high marks in our polling for a while.
00:29:06.000 But after it became clear that he wasn't really going to be better at handling the pandemic and that approval started to fall, it all collapsed for him.
00:29:14.000 On immigration, he's in the low 30s.
00:29:16.000 Foreign policy, the low 30s.
00:29:18.000 On all of the measures of a president, he is in the 30s.
00:29:22.000 Overall, we have met about 39%.
00:29:24.000 There is still some goodwill there over the pandemic, but we have him now, he fell into the low 40s for the pandemic, so and a good 55% disapproving.
00:29:35.000 So, you know, you can almost overlap those two trends.
00:29:38.000 And there's right now, what we saw in this poll was a crack in the Democratic base.
00:29:43.000 The liberal, the far more left-wing side of the Democratic Party is joining with the very few remaining conservative Democrats in disliking him.
00:29:53.000 So, Democratic approval now is almost 20% in our poll.
00:29:57.000 Wow.
00:29:57.000 We haven't seen base fracture like that.
00:30:00.000 I've never seen it, I've never polled a president in my career with base fracture like that.
00:30:05.000 Last time, because I did go back to look to see when the last time that happened to a president, it was Jimmy Carter.
00:30:11.000 Wow.
00:30:11.000 So, that's where Biden is.
00:30:12.000 That's the real deal with him.
00:30:15.000 As relentless they attacked Trump, his base only grew.
00:30:17.000 It never fractured, it stayed with him throughout the entire presidency.
00:30:21.000 So, we have about three minutes remaining, Richard.
00:30:23.000 What do you think that means for the midterms?
00:30:25.000 And what is the Democrat strategy going to be?
00:30:27.000 Because they're going to try to do all sorts of different tricks and all sorts of different surprises because they're not going to accept these numbers.
00:30:34.000 They know they're catastrophic.
00:30:36.000 What could their plan potentially be?
00:30:39.000 That's what redistricting was part of that plan.
00:30:42.000 So, they know what's coming.
00:30:45.000 They're not fooling themselves.
00:30:46.000 You know, the idea, though, I was reading an article in Politico, and they're fundamentally misunderstanding their problem.
00:30:54.000 So, they think they just have done a lot and they're bad at communicating to the American people what they've done.
00:31:00.000 No, what you have done is unpopular.
00:31:03.000 If you look at that poll, Charlie, that we did, we asked about shortages, we asked about inflation, and on typical grocery store items, inflation is now overtaken.
00:31:13.000 Jobs and the economy is the number one issue.
00:31:15.000 Coronavirus is a very distant number three and almost tied with immigration.
00:31:20.000 So, and when we asked people about COVID, why did you pick COVID?
00:31:25.000 Only about half of them said that's because they think we're getting too loose.
00:31:30.000 We need to get more strict mitigation measures.
00:31:33.000 The other half picked it because they can't stand the mandates.
00:31:36.000 So it's not even a universally positive issue for Democrats at this point.
00:31:40.000 We asked about those shortages and, you know, over 70% are experiencing shortages when it comes to things like paper goods.
00:31:49.000 80% of the country is paying more for meat and poultry.
00:31:53.000 And the numbers are horrid.
00:31:54.000 They're horrid.
00:31:55.000 I mean, it looked third world.
00:31:57.000 It really looked like I was pulling a third world nation.
00:32:00.000 Well, it feels like we're living over it.
00:32:02.000 In a third world nation.
00:32:03.000 I mean, you go to a grocery store recently.
00:32:05.000 You don't have employees.
00:32:06.000 They don't have bottles of water.
00:32:08.000 The entire supply chain is completely and totally disrupted.
00:32:11.000 What do Republicans need to do to not mess this up?
00:32:14.000 Because it sure looks like a good equation for what would be called a red tsunami.
00:32:19.000 Yeah, they need to.
00:32:21.000 There is still some time in some of these states to change course to fix these redistricting efforts.
00:32:28.000 But secondly, I think the most important is that there is a very large chunk of voters.
00:32:33.000 If they come out, they don't really identify as Republican.
00:32:37.000 They just like Donald Trump.
00:32:39.000 If they come out and vote, it's going to be an even bigger problem for Democrats than it would be in a normal electorate.
00:32:45.000 And the only way to get them out there, Charlie, is to is to do what you say you're going to do.
00:32:50.000 So if you tell voters you're going to fight, then fight.
00:32:53.000 You know, all these people want, all they want is someone to stand up for them.
00:32:58.000 That's why they like Donald Trump so much.
00:33:00.000 That's why he could do no wrong with these people.
00:33:02.000 It didn't matter what he did.
00:33:03.000 He was their guy.
00:33:04.000 They defended him and they knew they could count on him.
00:33:07.000 They don't believe that with Republicans.
00:33:09.000 There's this tremendous opportunity in some of these districts that normally Republicans would not be able to win.
00:33:16.000 But this year, this shift, especially among Hispanic working men, is got to be terrifying to Democrats.
00:33:23.000 It has to be.
00:33:24.000 Looks that way.
00:33:25.000 Richard, thank you so much, People's Pundit and big data poll.
