00:02:24.000 Our reaction to the speech last night, not the State of the Union, but Donald Trump's address to Congress.
00:02:31.000 Now, it says in the U.S. Constitution that the president shall give a joint address to Congress.
00:02:37.000 And this was a joint session of Congress, not technically a State of the Union.
00:02:42.000 You know, State of the Unions used to be delivered, just a fun little tidbit.
00:02:45.000 They used to be written.
00:02:47.000 It's a new phenomenon actually of State of the Unions given orally.
00:02:53.000 Usually it was written and delivered to the Speaker of the House and say, here, read all that we've done.
00:02:58.000 We've changed a lot as a society with television, digital broadcasting.
00:03:02.000 Feels like the president has been, President Trump has been there for well over a year, two years.
00:03:07.000 He's only been in office for six months.
00:03:10.000 When he was sworn into office, we had no border.
00:03:13.000 One of the greatest accomplishments that he has been able to celebrate is that we have a secure border.
00:03:20.000 There's nobody invading our country anymore.
00:03:22.000 It doesn't happen.
00:03:23.000 It's gone.
00:03:24.000 There is no more southern border invasion.
00:03:29.000 He has been president for six weeks.
00:03:34.000 And we have a country that is bubbling back to life.
00:03:41.000 Now, I want to play some of the highlights here, but upon further reflection, these events, these joint sessions of Congress, are largely political theater.
00:03:51.000 You stand up for the stuff you like.
00:03:53.000 You sit down for the stuff you like.
00:03:54.000 But traditionally, everybody stands up during the agreeable stuff.
00:04:01.000 You stand up for the stuff where if you don't applaud, You could look kind of bad.
00:04:06.000 So, of course, the Democrats, they stayed seated when Donald Trump said we had a secure southern border.
00:04:11.000 He stayed seated when he was talking about how he was marshalling resources to underserved communities that were struck by wildfires.
00:04:20.000 They, of course, the Democrats refused to applaud during Donald Trump's moment saying that he wanted to broker peace with Ukraine.
00:04:30.000 And optics really matter here.
00:04:34.000 Went to a whole different level.
00:04:36.000 The Democrats were, of course, trying to interrupt him throughout his entire speech.
00:04:40.000 You had Al Green with his rod trying to interrupt Donald Trump.
00:04:47.000 It's important that we recognize and we realize that the Democrats don't just have a political problem.
00:05:00.000 The Democrats do not just have a policy problem.
00:05:04.000 There is a spiritual sickness that has infected the Democrat Party.
00:05:08.000 And I don't say that lightly.
00:05:10.000 You know, usually the political theater, okay, it is what it is.
00:05:14.000 It went to a whole different level last night.
00:05:16.000 A whole different level.
00:05:17.000 And it takes a lot for me to say this.
00:05:20.000 President Trump had this amazing moment with a young man by the name of DJ Daniel.
00:05:27.000 DJ Daniel is a 13-year-old battling cancer.
00:05:30.000 D.J. Daniel has always wanted to be a law enforcement officer, and he's been sworn in as a ceremonial law enforcement officer with police departments across the country.
00:05:39.000 He lifts people's spirits.
00:05:40.000 He has an amazing smile.
00:05:42.000 Who could not support D.J. Daniel?
00:05:45.000 So before I get into the inspiring moment that happened last night at the joint session of Congress, here is D.J. Daniel's story.
00:05:54.000 Playcut 141. What you want to know, the craziest part?
00:05:58.000 Because my mom, babe, me and my brothers all together.
00:06:01.000 And out of nowhere, I locked up.
00:06:02.000 And then my dad was calling my name, and I started going to the slow thing.
00:06:06.000 And he said, stop playing with me.
00:06:08.000 And I started to act slow.
00:06:11.000 And then as soon as he said that, we was speeding all the way, running lights, going to the hospital.
00:06:18.000 And then next thing you know, I was seasoned on the table.
00:06:20.000 They said, nah, we're going to have to go in his brain tonight.
00:06:22.000 Ever since then, I had 13 brain surgeries, and that's how many times my personality has changed.
00:06:28.000 And that's something that you don't hear from a terminal child.
00:06:31.000 They have five months to live.
00:06:33.000 I'm going to keep on going until my gas tanks run out.
00:06:35.000 And that's when God calls you home.
00:06:37.000 You never know when God's going to call you home.
00:06:39.000 I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my dad.
00:06:41.000 I know he's pretty proud of me, and I'm pretty proud of him, too.
00:06:44.000 And I'd like to thank President Trump, because if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here today.
00:06:51.000 I'm not crying.
00:06:52.000 You're crying.
00:06:53.000 I mean, it's beyond a tearjerker.
00:06:55.000 It moves you at a level of the soul.
00:06:58.000 It's not political.
00:06:59.000 It's what makes us human beings.
00:07:01.000 It is a moment that should bring the country together, not divide it, no matter how much you hate Trump.
00:07:07.000 So here's President Trump in a now very viral moment appointing 13-year-old DJ Daniel to be an honorary member of the U.S. Secret Service.
00:07:19.000 Play Cut 130. In 2018, D.J. was diagnosed with brain cancer.
00:07:25.000 The doctors gave him five months at most to live.
00:07:30.000 That was more than six years ago.
00:07:33.000 Since that time, D.J. and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true, and D.J. has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer actually a number of times.
00:07:47.000 The police love him.
00:07:48.000 The police departments love him.
00:07:50.000 And tonight, DJ, we're going to do you the biggest honor of them all.
00:07:55.000 I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.

00:08:35.000 That's a kid with brain cancer who might not be around much longer.

00:08:48.000 During that exact moment, when President Trump was celebrating the ceremonial promotion of DJ Daniel, they are sitting, scowling with bitterness.

00:09:03.000 We're not built the same.
00:09:04.000 We don't see the world the same.
00:09:06.000 I hate talking like this.
00:09:08.000 I don't know what has infected the base of the Democrat Party, but it can only be an invisible dark force that could be called whatever you want.

00:09:25.000 You could fill in the dots.
00:09:28.000 But they hate you, and they hate the country, and they hate us so much that they also hate 13-year-olds with brain cancer.

00:09:42.000 I want one media pundit and one member of the Democrat Party to show me that is your Democrat Party.
00:09:50.000 Republicans would always stand during the ceremonial agreeable stuff when Joe Biden would do similar stuff like this.

00:09:58.000 What is not normal is for an entire political party to stay seated.
00:10:05.000 During a non-political, humane moment that elevates us and thinks about the beautiful things because the Democrat Party is ugly to the core.

00:10:21.000 A sickness that is beyond what we're able to describe in words.
00:10:25.000 They are darker than anything we have ever realized.
00:10:29.000 Praise the Lord that we won and they can never get close to power because they would not even put two hands together to applaud the kid with brain cancer.

00:13:28.000 If you are ever asked by liberal friends or relatives or Democrats, oh, you know, we all want the same thing.

00:13:37.000 The Democrats want something profoundly different than we do.
00:13:42.000 And they will not even stand out of their chair.

00:14:37.000 This is who the Democrats listen to, the show they go on to.
00:14:41.000 Play Cut 143. I think this was a lesson in finding one thing that you let yourself feel, and I let myself feel joy about DJ, and I hope he's alive for another, you know, 95 years, right?

00:15:03.000 He knows what he wants to do.
00:15:04.000 And maybe when you have childhood cancer, that crystallizes for you.

00:15:11.000 But I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump supporters.
00:15:15.000 And if he does, I hope he isn't one of the six who loses his life to suicide.
00:15:20.000 And I hope he isn't one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people.

00:15:35.000 As I said earlier, I don't get speechless quite often.
00:15:39.000 This is the state of the Democrat Party.
00:15:42.000 She's wishing that a 13-year-old with brain cancer doesn't commit suicide, that he doesn't have to testify, making some sort of bizarre connection to January 6th.
00:15:53.000 To this young man who just had this amazing moment.
00:15:56.000 She started off fine, and then all of a sudden a different programming set got put in.
00:16:00.000 As if the files got mixed up.
00:16:04.000 As if there was just a glitch.
00:16:06.000 She was like, my programming tells me I must say something agreeable, and then boom!
00:16:11.000 As if there was just kind of a programming error.
00:16:14.000 And she goes into...
00:16:16.000 I mean, she of course should be taken off air, but more than that, she should be watched very closely.
00:16:22.000 It's very, very dark.
00:16:24.000 And I mean, that is dark stuff.
00:16:26.000 I mean, that would be dark if just like a random YouTuber said that.
00:16:30.000 Or like a random person on the side of the street.
00:16:32.000 This is a woman with a news broadcast show that lawmakers go on.
00:16:37.000 And of course, all the media outlets say Republicans pounce on MSNBC host.
00:16:43.000 Right-wingers pounce.
00:16:45.000 This is the Independent.
00:16:46.000 MAGA loses its mind over Nicole Wallace's sickening comments.
00:16:53.000 The Daily Mail, to their credit, said, Nicole Wallace gives sickening take on 13-year-olds with terminal cancer.
00:17:00.000 It's the Democrat Party that has this spiritual cancer.

00:18:44.000 They look stupid sitting on their hands, not clapping for what the president talked about in so many ways, making this country great again.

00:19:18.000 Senator, the Democrats, excluding one person, there was one woman in red that stood up, decided to just ignore and not applaud DJ Daniel, the 13-year-old with brain cancer, who got awarded there.

00:19:34.000 I mean, how is this, how are you supposed to do business with people that don't even applaud a kid with brain cancer?

00:19:45.000 I mean, they hate this president so much that they won't get up and clap for a 13-year-old boy, a very special moment that President Trump created last night.

00:19:58.000 When Joe Biden walked out and when they announced the president of the United States of America before the state of the union's on his watch, every Republican got up and clapped, not for Joe Biden.

00:20:14.000 Those Democrats sat on their hands.
00:20:16.000 They disrespected the President.
00:20:18.000 They disrespected our country.
00:20:20.000 And in that case, they disrespected the life of a 13-year-old boy.
00:20:24.000 I'll tell you what, one moment I saw, because I was on the far right side, on the Republican side, and I could see the Democrats across.
00:20:34.000 I saw one senator when President Trump talked about capturing the terrorist who was the mastermind behind the Abbey Gate attack that killed 13 of our heroes.
00:20:43.000 And by the way, none of the Democrats clapped for that either.
00:20:46.000 I mean, how can you not clap for that?
00:20:47.000 I saw one Democrat look to the Democrat to his right and say, we should stand up.
00:20:52.000 You can see him mouthing it.
00:20:54.000 We should be standing up.
00:20:55.000 And they were all shaking their heads.
00:20:57.000 No, we have to stay seated.
00:20:59.000 That's how foolish...
00:21:01.000 There's not a line that came out of President Trump's mouth last night that 75% or more of Americans don't agree with.
00:21:10.000 There was nothing controversial last night that he said he was speaking to the American people.
00:21:15.000 Everything that came out of his mouth was something that the majority of Americans agree with, and the Democrats wouldn't stand up for it.
00:21:23.000 Donald Trump has broken the Democrat Party.
00:21:25.000 They are beyond repair, and just how foolish they looked last night is something that's going to linger over them for a long time to come.
00:21:35.000 Views of Trump's speech, let's put this up on screen.
00:21:38.000 I've been around this space for about 13 years.
00:21:40.000 I'm just drawing from memory.
00:21:42.000 It is very rare to have a 76% approval rating of a joint session of speech to Congress.

00:21:50.000 Very unusual.
00:21:51.000 If I remember, Biden might be high 50s at the watermark and then maybe low 50s.
00:21:56.000 Even Obama might have been high 60s, low 70s during the high Obama period, then went down from there.
00:22:03.000 We can probably look at other speeches and reactions.
00:22:08.000 That's 76% of Americans that approve President Trump's speech.
00:22:11.000 And the Democrats, instead of at least having some sort of an agreeable attitude...
00:22:16.000 Their bitterness and their sourness towards America is disturbing and it is revealing of a darker sickness that has infected our politics.
00:22:29.000 This is one of my favorite parts of the speech and I want to get your reaction.
00:22:33.000 Senator, some of your colleagues said we need a bipartisan border bill to secure the border.
00:22:37.000 We can't secure the border unless we get a bipartisan border bill.
00:22:41.000 Turns out we actually just needed a new president.
00:22:44.000 Playcut 120. Within hours of taking the oath of office, I declared a national emergency on our southern border, and I deployed the U.S. military and border patrol to repel the invasion of our country.
00:22:59.000 And what a job they've done.
00:23:01.000 As a result, illegal border crossings last month were by far the lowest ever recorded.
00:23:09.000 ever.
00:23:11.000 They heard my words and they chose not to come.
00:23:28.000 Much easier that way.
00:23:30.000 In comparison, under Joe Biden, the worst president in American history, there were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings a month, and virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and people from mental institutions and insane asylums, were released into our country.
00:23:53.000 So, Senator, first, explain all the jeering.
00:23:56.000 Is that the Democrats standing up for Joe Biden?
00:23:59.000 And secondly, the border is now secure.
00:24:04.000 President Trump went on to say, it turns out that we didn't need a bill, we just needed a new president.
00:24:08.000 And we got that in Donald Trump.
00:24:10.000 After he took the oath of office, secure the border, go back to the Remain in Mexico policy, it works.
00:24:17.000 All it took was him being back in office.
00:24:19.000 Making this point last night, looking at the Democrats, they're responsible for the mess at the border.
00:24:23.000 They backed up the worst president in American history for four years, and that's why we have the travesty, the biggest humanitarian crisis at the border ever, the wide-open border, fentanyl killing Americans, all the crime that came with it.
00:24:36.000 It's all the Democrats' fault, and they know it.
00:24:39.000 That's why all they could do was jeer last night.
00:24:43.000 I want to play a piece of tape.
00:24:44.000 Another amazing moment.
00:24:46.000 Let's play Cut 122. And once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud.

00:25:03.000 I could find a cure to the most devastating disease, a disease that would wipe out entire nations or announce the answers to the greatest economy in history.
00:25:16.000 Or the stoppage of crime to the lowest levels ever recorded.
00:25:20.000 And these people sitting right here will not clap, will not stand, and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements.
00:25:30.000 They won't do it, no matter what.
00:25:32.000 Five times I've been up here.
00:25:34.000 It's very sad.

00:26:54.000 It was a mistake in 2017 when Paul Ryan and those others in charge of the House and the Senate made corporate tax rates permanent but didn't make the individual tax rates permanent on working class families.

00:27:10.000 It has to happen in the next few weeks in the reconciliation bill.

00:27:15.000 But then we have to fund ICE to deport illegal criminals out of our country and back up the efforts to build the wall and secure the border.
