ICE Director Tom Homan joins the show to explain why he loves the bill, why he needs it, and why the President should sign it. The bill would fund $25 million more for a border wall, $50,000 more detention beds, and $100,000 in additional detention beds.
00:00:00.000Hey everybody, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show from the Bitcoin Mobile Studio.
00:00:04.000Andrew Colvett in for the one and only Charlie Kirk who's traveling in the United Kingdom.
00:00:08.000We talk about the one big, beautiful bill, what's in it, what's good, what's bad, what needs to be corrected, and how can we get to the finish line.
00:00:18.000Also, we have Bordersar, Tom Homan, who says why he loves the bill, why he needs the bill.
00:00:24.000More internal enforcement, more border security, more tech.
00:00:57.000His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:05.000We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.

00:03:17.000Buoys placed in the river that are actually very, very effective.
00:03:20.000And it's going to save lives because once a lot of illegal aliens see that buoy that you can't get over, you can't get under, they won't risk getting in the river and drowning.
00:03:30.000But the technology, even the existing wall, the new wall that President Trump built under 45, Joe Biden came in and not only ended building more wall, but ended the technology that went into the existing wall.
00:03:42.000That allows agents to have, you know, if you touch the wall, we know.
00:04:26.000As far as interior operations, it funds more ICE agents.
00:04:29.000It's going to fund more detention beds, which we really seriously need.
00:04:33.000Right now, we've got about $50,000 in detention.
00:04:35.000We need 100,000 beds to even put a dent in what we're trying to do here.
00:04:39.000So it's going to let us find beds, because every person we arrest, we've got to bed them before we get travel documents and send them home.
00:05:10.000It's also going to allow us to build out more contract work.
00:05:14.000So rather than a badge and gun with Title 8 authority, immigration authority, sitting doing an administrative job, let's get a contractor to do that job and put that badge and gun on the street.
00:05:22.000So allow us for all these things so we can continue doing what we're doing, increase the interior enforcement risks as the American people have mandated President Trump to do.
00:05:30.000It's going to let us finish the job we started.
00:05:32.000We're doing great, but we need more money.
00:05:34.000The more money we have, the more good stuff we can do.
00:05:37.000Yeah, and Mr. Homan, you have come on this show before and you asked for about $150 to $175 billion.
00:05:45.000I've heard you use both numbers in passing.
00:05:48.000So this, it allocates $150 billion via defense spending, but then another $70 billion for border security funding.
00:06:56.000So I hope the final number is bigger than that, but I'll take what we can get.
00:07:03.000Mr. Homan, you've come on this show before in the past as well, and you've said, hey, listen, we're doing the first worst.
00:07:11.000The worst are getting out first, but we've got to do more.
00:07:15.000And I believe I've heard numbers around 100,000, 150,000 that have been deported so far.
00:07:22.000I've seen that you've been frustrated that you couldn't get that higher faster, but again, this resource crunch that you're experiencing at ICE and DHS, will this deliver?
00:07:32.000Let's say half a million to a million deportations a year.
00:07:36.000Is that a number that's realistic if this budget gets passed?
00:07:40.000Well, half a million is absolutely realistic.
00:07:42.000We're shooting for a million, but a half a million is realistic.
00:07:46.000And look, the sanctuary cities, they put...
00:08:05.000It's all about more money for manpower, more marketable targeting.
00:08:08.000Look, there's a lot of smart companies out there, a lot of smart businesses out there with the most recent technology to help us find those people that don't want to be found.
00:08:18.000So bring some of these contracts up, help improve targeting.
00:08:22.000But the most important thing is resources, beds, planes, buses, and boots on the ground.
00:08:44.000We love that about you, that you are never going to be satisfied until every person who broke the law to get into this country is held accountable, put to the back of the line, gone through the legal process.
00:09:42.000Sanctuary cities, you can step back and watch us do your job, make your community safer, and not assist us with criminals, public safety threats in your community.
00:13:45.000They're asking for 50 over 10 years, guaranteed, or something approximately at that point.
00:13:50.000When we're dealing with a bill where the math does not work out, where the ends do not meet, and we're looking at a deficit increase, not a reduction, that dog ain't going to hunt.
00:14:00.000So I want to just echo President Trump and say that the SALT deductions, it's helping blue state governors.
00:14:09.000Now, we want to help all states, but we don't want to...
00:14:11.000We want to encourage blue states that are taxing at a huge high rate, and then they get rewarded for it, and the federal government bails them out.
00:21:07.000And they're not working, and we're still funding them.
00:21:10.000This is the number one area of expansion of the federal budget, and nobody is seriously trying to fight this except for these four holdouts.
00:21:41.000And we have to get back to pre-COVID spending levels wherever we can.
00:21:45.000We certainly can with Medicaid because the fraud, waste and abuse, the gaming of the system, the giving benefits to, you know, two and a half million illegal immigrants.
00:22:08.000This is the graph of what the Republican plan is for Medicaid spending over the next 10 years.
00:22:14.000This assumes that we actually get all the able-bodied, single people without children on Medicaid to agree to work 20 hours a week or volunteer at a church or train.
00:22:27.000And if we eliminate all the fraud, waste and abuse, and there's plenty of it, we're left with at least a 25% So that was obviously from the House floor.
00:22:46.000Now, there is a scam here where, and people, this gets wonky.
00:22:52.000I don't want to get too into the weeds, but it's called FMAP.
00:22:55.000It's the federal, I'll get the acronym for you in a second.
00:23:01.000It's the federal medical assistance percentage.
00:23:04.000So basically, it's a mean-tested program, meaning that the poorer states get more federal matching dollars than the rich states.
00:23:11.000But what the states do, and this is one of Chip Roy's big problems, is that they charge a provider tax on it.
00:23:19.000So if we send $10,000 to California, they'll bump it up by 5%.
00:23:24.000And then there's little carve-outs, and then they take that money and they fund Medi-Cal.
00:23:28.000And they give it to illegals or different things or Planned Parenthood.
00:23:31.000That stuff needs to stop, and Chip Royd's 100% right on that.
00:23:35.000So where we stand right now on the big, beautiful bill, Chip Royd's probably a no.
00:23:41.000All the SALT guys, that would be Stefanik, Garbarino, Lawler, Lalota, Young Kim, Tom King Jr., Langworthy.
00:23:50.000Those guys are all probably a no because they're going to hold fast in their coalition for these SALT exemptions.
00:23:55.000Now, again, I think that that horse ain't going to hunt.
00:23:59.000They've already gotten a concession, albeit a small one.
00:24:24.000Eli Crane, the great Eli Crane from Arizona, Rich McCormick, Eric Burleson, Mark Harris, Andrew Clyde, Tim Burchette, Keith Self, Warren Davidson, Andy Biggs, Andy Harris, Andy Ogles.
00:24:34.000Now, these are a lot of the Freedom Caucus guy, the budget hawks.
00:24:37.000Trump said in his presser this morning, he said, lay off my Freedom Caucus guy.
00:25:02.000And we were going to have Chip Roy on this morning.
00:25:05.000Unfortunately, schedules, everything's going crazy, but he was scheduled to be on right now explaining some of his holdouts, some of his reservations.
00:25:13.000But I think he's making some good points that we have to stop the expansion of this Medicaid graft and spending and abuse.
00:25:21.000Illegals have no place on this, on Medicaid.
00:25:26.000We have to stop this FMAP stuff where we're paying way too much to the states and we're incentivizing them to expand the amount of spending in this way.
00:25:38.000So, all in all, there's a lot to love in this bill.
00:25:42.000It is 95% of the way there, maybe 98% of the way there, but the devil is in the details.
00:26:48.000If somebody's able-bodied and they can go get a job and they're living in their mom's basement playing video games, I'm sorry, you got to go get a job.
00:26:55.000This program was designed for the truly needy, the disabled people, pregnant women, seniors.
00:27:01.000Those are the people we're going to help more by shoring the program up.
00:27:20.000If you are a fan of Congress, which would make you in the minority, but if you enjoy the way the sausage gets made, this is high drama stuff.
00:27:28.000You're going to be glued to your ex-feed and to your...
00:27:34.000Television scream for the next couple of days.
00:27:40.000They have reached out to the speaker to tell him they are a no on the bill after the Trump speech at the conference.
00:27:47.000So again, SALT caucus, that would be the Stefana, Garbarino, Lawler, Lelota, Young Kim, Tom King, Jr., Langworthy, those guys are all no.
00:27:57.000So there's still no, they're holding out for more salt reductions.
00:28:00.000Trump told Lawler this morning during his session with House Republicans, he said, I know your district better than you do, and if you're going to lose because you don't get salt reductions, you are going to lose anyway.
00:31:07.000It's so extreme that in this case, I think it's a terrible comm strategy.
00:31:10.000Instead of trying to get ahead of it and writing a book called Original Sin and making money off of it, maybe you should have just said, sorry, Jake Tapper.
00:31:19.000This is Jake Tapper in 2023 dressing down Lara Trump for daring to question the cognitive and mental abilities of Joe Biden.
00:31:30.000How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that?
00:31:35.000I think what we see on stage with Joe Biden, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline.
00:33:11.000If you have prostate cancer that is spread to the bone, then he most certainly, you are saying, had it when he was president of the United States.
00:33:28.000He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021.
00:33:35.000Yes, I don't think there's any disagreement about that.
00:33:39.000So are we supposed to believe that Joe Biden, with the best medical care on planet Earth, the best that money can buy, is provided for the president, that they missed this aggressive cancer?
00:33:53.000That he's probably had since the beginning of his presidency?
00:33:56.000Absolutely no way in hell is that true.
00:34:13.000Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
00:34:14.000If you get something out of the show, if you love what we do here at the Charlie Kirk Show, and you are not yet a member, you need to become a member.
