00:01:22.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:01:23.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:01:24.000 His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:32.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:41.000 That's why we are here.
00:01:45.000 I had a pretty interesting meeting that I want to share with you exclusively here on the Charlie Kirk show.
00:01:53.000 I was at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, and I had the opportunity to sit down with former President Trump.
00:01:58.000 We had a great meeting, and we talked about a variety of different things.
00:02:03.000 First of all, it is very clear that former President Trump is not just going to give up and go into the sunset and forget about politics.
00:02:17.000 President Trump is going to stay actively engaged in Republican politics and the conservative movement.
00:02:25.000 My advice to him, for whatever it's worth, my conversation with him was about focusing his support, focusing his followers on the positive.
00:02:39.000 And he seemed to agree.
00:02:41.000 Now, without disclosing any private details, I can tell you that President Trump is going to dedicate his energy and his resources towards reforming our elections in our country.
00:02:56.000 This is a primary concern for him.
00:02:58.000 I was really pleased to hear this.
00:03:00.000 I'm a big believer that President Trump is at his best when he's optimistic, when he is forward-thinking, when he is solution-oriented, when he is creative.
00:03:12.000 I think that some of the troubles emerge when he focuses too much on the negative.
00:03:19.000 And it's tempting to do so.
00:03:20.000 He was mistreated.
00:03:21.000 He was spied on.
00:03:22.000 There were plenty of things that were thrown at him.
00:03:25.000 One of the reasons why so many people adored him and followed him was his commitment to positivity.
00:03:32.000 So instead of saying the election was stolen, instead, the right thing to say is our election system was interfered with and broken, and I am going to dedicate my life to fixing it.
00:03:43.000 I think that is exactly what the American people want right now.
00:03:47.000 I was stopped by a couple of people in the last couple days at a few events I was at, and they looked at me and they said, if you are going to go see President Trump, tell him to tell us what we can do to help reform our elections.
00:04:01.000 Because if we do not reform our elections the way we actually elect our leaders, then nothing else matters.
00:04:07.000 I believe that former President Trump can have the greatest positive impact on American politics.
00:04:16.000 And he seemed to agree with this by focusing his time, energy, attention, resources, and following on two things: big tech and broken elections.
00:04:27.000 More than anything else, those two things are impacting the future of the American Republic and our entire civilization.
00:04:39.000 We also talked a lot about some of the up-and-coming voices in the Republican Party.
00:04:45.000 He's a very big fan of Ron DeSantis.
00:04:47.000 It's hard to not be a fan of Ron DeSantis because we were meeting at Mar-a-Lago where the restaurant was open and he was able to have his club open to people.
00:04:56.000 You can kind of see in real time how Ron DeSantis has been an effective and proven leader in the state of Florida.
00:05:03.000 In fact, even self-described Democrats that I've been talking to in the last two weeks of being here in Florida love Ron DeSantis.
00:05:10.000 When I travel, I like to talk to everybody.
00:05:14.000 I like to talk to waiters and waitresses, people that own hair salons, you name it.
00:05:21.000 What do you think of the governor?
00:05:22.000 What do you think of what's happening?
00:05:24.000 Now, I'm sure that person is out there somewhere, but I have not met one person that has something negative to say about Ron DeSantis.
00:05:35.000 And I'm talking about the muscular class.
00:05:37.000 I'm talking about people that are lifting boxes.
00:05:38.000 I'm talking about people that are driving cars.
00:05:40.000 I'm talking about people that are not your traditional Republican supporters.
00:05:45.000 But trusting the citizens of Florida to be responsible, trusting the citizens of Florida to act properly in the midst of this pandemic and not restricting their freedom turns out to be an incredibly popular political position.
00:06:04.000 And so, one of my big takeaways with my sit-down with President Trump, and by the way, he looked great.
00:06:10.000 He actually looked well-rested and more focused than anytime I have seen him in the last couple of years.
00:06:21.000 And that's not a criticism of him in any way.
00:06:23.000 But for anyone that might think he's worn down, for anyone that might think he's lost any spirit or energy, he's full of vitality.
00:06:33.000 And some people are saying, well, it's time for President Trump to go away.
00:06:37.000 That's not going to happen.
00:06:40.000 So instead, you should be saying, I want President Trump to use his following, his resources, his attention, his influence for good.
00:06:51.000 It may be a cliche when you say you are what you eat, but it's the absolute truth.
00:06:55.000 Eating the right foods ensure you get the right nutrients into your body that are essential to maintain your health and vitality.
00:07:00.000 It's also true if you are not getting enough fruits and veggies every day, you could seriously be deficient in those nutrients that are so vital to your health.
00:07:08.000 Can you imagine how you'd feel if you were eating 10 servings of fruits and veggies every day?
00:07:12.000 Do what I do because I could tell you from personal experience, it is a game changer.
00:07:16.000 Because I take six daily capsules from Balance of Nature.
00:07:19.000 Just knowing I'm getting the vital nutrients sourced from 31 fruits and veggies every day makes a huge difference in my life.

00:07:51.000 So, being in the state of Florida, we sometimes forget how Ron DeSantis became governor.
00:07:58.000 How did Ron DeSantis, who was a congressman from the Jacksonville region of Florida, become governor?
00:08:07.000 Ron DeSantis was a long shot in the Republican primary.
00:08:11.000 This is the 2018 gubernatorial election.
00:08:14.000 Ron DeSantis was running up against very popular, well-financed, well-known candidate, Adam Putnam.
00:08:26.000 Adam Putnam was the heir apparent to the Florida governor's mansion, very much in the tradition of Jeb Bush, very much in the leadership dynasty of Florida Republican leaders.
00:08:43.000 Adam Putnam was supposed to be governor.
00:08:46.000 Ron DeSantis decided to throw his hat into the ring.
00:08:51.000 Adam Putnam didn't like it.
00:08:52.000 A lot of his financiers didn't like it.
00:08:54.000 Ron DeSantis was down 45 points in the first statewide Florida poll.
00:09:02.000 Ron DeSantis was smart, though.
00:09:05.000 Ron DeSantis decided to take an early position against the Mueller investigation while he was in Congress.
00:09:14.000 While he did that, he attracted the attention of the target of that investigation, Donald Trump.
00:09:22.000 Ron DeSantis then flew on Air Force One and famously convinced Donald Trump to endorse Ron DeSantis while Adam Putnam was still putting together his campaign apparatus, taking the entire Florida political establishment by surprise.
00:09:37.000 Ron DeSantis then wins the Florida primary convincingly by double digits.
00:09:41.000 We'll get the final tallies.
00:09:43.000 Going from down 40 to winning by double digits, Ron DeSantis then runs up against Andrew Gillum, who had the support of Barack Obama, who had the support of Bill Clinton, who had the support of all the Democrat establishment.
00:09:55.000 And Ron DeSantis narrowly beat Andrew Gillum, narrowly.
00:09:59.000 So what's the moral of that story?
00:10:03.000 Donald Trump as a kingmaker saved the state of Florida.
00:10:09.000 Donald Trump just saying, I endorse you and not you is the reason why Florida is the most prosperous, free, and open state in the entire country.
00:10:20.000 What a great blueprint for Donald Trump to follow in the next year, year and a half.
00:10:26.000 What a great example to say, I am going to pick the superstars of tomorrow.
00:10:36.000 And whether he runs again or not is an unknown.
00:10:39.000 But I can tell you this: seeing his focus, seeing his attention on what's happening in American politics, he's not going away.
00:10:52.000 But wouldn't it be amazing if Donald Trump says, I want more Ron DeSantis?
00:10:57.000 I want more people like that in positions of power.
00:11:01.000 That's a very exciting prospect to get behind.
00:11:06.000 We're talking about the state of Florida.
00:11:08.000 So many people are moving here, including Democrats.
00:11:09.000 You know, we were hanging out in Miami Beach the other day.
00:11:13.000 No, not on the beach.
00:11:14.000 Okay, we were in Miami Beach.
00:11:17.000 We were going from meeting to meeting, met with some phenomenal people starting businesses, moving businesses.
00:11:25.000 In fact, I met with two people that had moved their multi-billion dollar portfolios, family assets, and residency down to Miami.
00:11:36.000 Pretty remarkable from New York.
00:11:38.000 So while Andrew Cuomo is being investigated, accused, and attacked, Ron DeSantis is being platformed to become president.
00:11:48.000 It's a pretty amazing juxtaposition.
00:11:50.000 And politics aside, you know success based on the movement of people.
00:11:55.000 The way people move, they will vote with their movement.
00:11:59.000 They'll vote with their pocketbook, but most importantly, they'll vote with their feet.
00:12:03.000 Laboratories of democracy, as Louis Brandeis said.
00:12:06.000 So you can be an ardent Democrat, Chuck Schumer supporter, Alexander Ecasio-Cortez rally attending Democrat, but cut it out as soon as you move your business down to the free state of Florida.
00:12:18.000 Now, the point that I'm making is that Donald Trump, being heavily involved in American politics, can be a force for good.
00:12:25.000 So if you are a fan of Ron DeSantis, which I know many of you are, is thanks to Donald Trump.
00:12:32.000 But let's go through the numbers.
00:12:34.000 Ron DeSantis won the primary, thanks to Trump's endorsement, by 20 points, 913,000 votes to 591,000 votes.
00:12:43.000 The general election, which was very tight, versus the, let's say, very complicated man of Andrew Gillum, Andrew Gillum, who's a criminal and a liar.
00:13:01.000 I kid you not, 33,000 votes separated the two of them.
00:13:06.000 And Ron DeSantis won.
00:13:07.000 And that was with a corrupt Miami-Dade County, and that was with corrupt Brenda Snipes that took forever to count the ballots and bring the ballots in.
00:13:15.000 And Ron DeSantis fired her on day one.
00:13:19.000 Well, I don't know if it was day one, but it was in the first couple of days of his administration.
00:13:23.000 And so Ron DeSantis is someone we've talked about quite a lot on this program.
00:13:29.000 And I was just in Sarasota with my family.
00:13:31.000 I've been all over Florida, actually.
00:13:33.000 I've been in every major city in Florida in the last two weeks except Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
00:13:37.000 And I was a believer before I came to Florida.
00:13:40.000 When I start to talk to cobblers, do you know what a cobbler is?
00:13:44.000 Someone who fixes shoes.
00:13:46.000 That's a term I had not used in a while.
00:13:48.000 I went to a cobbler, actually, to get one of my shoes fixed.
00:13:50.000 That's why I knew.
00:13:50.000 When I talk to a cobbler and I ask him, I said, how's business?
00:13:54.000 And he looks at me and he says, I would not exist if the economy was not open and Ron DeSantis is not governor.
00:14:00.000 And I said, are you, have you been in politics before?
00:14:04.000 He said, I don't care about politics.
00:14:06.000 I care about life and I'm a Ron DeSantis fan.
00:14:08.000 Wow.
00:14:10.000 He said, I have family in New Jersey.
00:14:12.000 I have family in the state of Washington.
00:14:14.000 They're getting crushed and they'll never recover.
00:14:18.000 But Donald Trump's endorsement of DeSantis made that possible.
00:14:22.000 And so in my meeting with Trump yesterday, I can tell you he wants to be heavily involved in the selection of candidates.
00:14:30.000 And the more people that are courageous, intelligent, sharp, that he can get behind, the better.
00:14:39.000 And I'm going to do everything I possibly can to try and assist President Trump with his movement, with his followers, to influence the party for good, influence the conservative movement around these types of candidates.
00:14:54.000 To give an idea, if Ron DeSantis would not have beat Andrew Gillum, 33,000 votes, Florida would be locked down just like the state of Nevada.
00:15:05.000 Nevada is completely and totally closed.
00:15:08.000 I think the casinos finally reopened.
00:15:10.000 But I could tell you, I know people that own massive businesses in Vegas and they've been crushed.
00:15:15.000 Even Georgia is still having trouble reopening.
00:15:17.000 Arizona, Texas.
00:15:19.000 Florida was the earliest and the most bold when it came to restaurant reopenings, beach openings, and school openings.
00:15:27.000 South Dakota as well, but South Dakota did not have the population mass that Florida has, not even close.
00:15:31.000 South Dakota, I think, might be the second most populated, or the, it might be like 40 out of 50 when it comes to population.
00:15:39.000 I think it's Wyoming, then South Dakota.
00:15:41.000 I could be wrong.
00:15:42.000 It's right near there.
00:15:43.000 But Florida was a bold move.
00:15:47.000 And Florida has a more urban population than New York.
00:15:52.000 And it worked.
00:15:54.000 Who do you want, America?
00:15:56.000 Do you want someone like Cuomo or DeSantis?
00:15:59.000 Well, you only get a DeSantis with a kingmaker that knows a leader when they see it.
00:16:06.000 I am a believer that the biggest threat to your success is you.
00:16:13.000 I'm a big believer that the biggest problem that you must deal with is yourself.
00:16:20.000 Your own choices, taking responsibility for your actions, living a full and good life is on you, not on the circumstances around you.
00:16:29.000 But there still are existential threats at times.
00:16:31.000 It could be foreign governments.
00:16:33.000 It could be corrupt politicians.
00:16:35.000 It could be very difficult circumstances that you might be in.
00:16:39.000 And yes, it could also be a big conglomerate of companies.
00:16:45.000 And so these big tech companies need to be called out.
00:16:49.000 We need to make the argument that it is not conservative to support multi-trillion dollar companies that want to destroy our way of life and thwart the will of Western civilization.
00:17:06.000 I will say in my speech, and you can see it in its entirety on YouTube, but since we have a good relationship here, I want to give you a little preview.
00:17:17.000 I'm going to say if you do not support breaking up and challenging the tech companies, you are not a conservative.
00:17:23.000 You are a corporatist.
00:17:26.000 You are someone that wants to protect the trillionaire class.
00:17:29.000 And I'm all for capitalism.
00:17:30.000 I love entrepreneurship.
00:17:31.000 I think that value creation starting something from nothing is one of the most beautiful aspects of a free market economy.
00:17:38.000 Pulling yourself up from the bootstraps.
00:17:40.000 I have said what Dennis Prager has said his entire life, my favorite word in the English language is earn.
00:17:47.000 E-A-R-N.
00:17:49.000 I love the word earn.
00:17:51.000 It's a uniquely American phrase.
00:17:53.000 I earned this.
00:17:56.000 I'm going to talk about why there is no Bill of Rights when it comes to tech companies and how the tech companies on a daily basis violate half the Bill of Rights.
00:18:09.000 I'm going to talk about how the idea of a private company is a red herring argument when it comes to the tech companies.
00:18:18.000 And I really believe the proper framing is Menlo Park versus America.
00:18:23.000 I will ask the question, who is more powerful, Google or our government?
00:18:28.000 You see, conservatism should be about the protection of naturally granted, God-given existence and rights, not the automatic or dogmatic defense of corporate America.
00:18:39.000 That is not what conservatism is about.
00:18:42.000 America is not just another colony for corporate interests to maximize their profits and move on.
00:18:49.000 America is our home.
00:18:51.000 It has a culture, a language, a history, a people.
00:18:56.000 And when a multi-trillion air class decides to collectivize their highly technological interests for a specific aim, we as conservatives must rise up against that.
00:19:12.000 I'm also going to make the point of three words.
00:19:14.000 They hate you.
00:19:17.000 They hate your viewpoints.
00:19:19.000 They hate your values.
00:19:20.000 They hate your worldview.
00:19:22.000 And they will do anything they possibly can to demolish you.
00:19:25.000 So make sure you tune in on that.
00:19:27.000 That's a little preview of what we have going there.
00:19:28.000 But we've been talking about my meeting with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
00:19:35.000 People seem very interested in this.
00:19:36.000 When I posted the social media picture of Trump and I at Mar-a-Lago, I've gotten more texts, more emails.
00:19:42.000 What did he say?
00:19:43.000 What's he thinking?
00:19:44.000 What's going on?
00:19:44.000 More so than when I even met with him at the Oval Office.
00:19:47.000 What'd you say?
00:19:49.000 What were the topics of discussion?
00:19:50.000 Look, my big thing was, and this is something that we've been trying to talk about here on this program for quite some time, which is stay positive.
00:19:59.000 Be optimistic.
00:20:00.000 The Democrat Party is a nasty, dark party.
00:20:03.000 They're always complaining.
00:20:05.000 They're talking about destruction.
00:20:06.000 Everything is awful.
00:20:08.000 You wear a mask when you shower.
00:20:10.000 You wear two masks when you go out in public.
00:20:11.000 I mean, people are yearning for that optimistic, positive breakthrough.
00:20:16.000 And that's part of what I was trying to communicate to President Trump, which is be the cheerleader for America and be the happy, joyful warrior.
00:20:26.000 Metaphorical, of course, can't even say that anymore without someone coming after it.
00:20:30.000 In juxtaposition with the Democrats that just seem to want to complain about everything.
00:20:38.000 And so there's a very valid concern about how we do elections in this country.
00:20:42.000 It's the number one concern of the conservative base.
00:20:46.000 Number one.
00:20:47.000 It is the question I get asked more than any other question.
00:20:49.000 I just finished a dinner with some dear friends of mine.
00:20:53.000 And the number one question is: Charlie, should we ever vote again?
00:20:56.000 Charlie, will we ever get our elections back?
00:20:58.000 Charlie, what can we do?
00:21:01.000 And so instead of former President Trump saying everything is terrible, everything is awful.
00:21:06.000 We lost, it got stolen, and there might be some legitimacy to that argument.
00:21:10.000 Instead, talk about solutions, signature verification.
00:21:16.000 What they did in Georgia is some good news.
00:21:18.000 It's a good step.
00:21:19.000 It's a step in the right direction.
00:21:20.000 It's not everything.
00:21:21.000 We did an entire podcast on that.
00:21:23.000 I think it's Senate Bill 67.
00:21:25.000 That was what it was.
00:21:26.000 We have such an opportunity.
00:21:28.000 You see, the Democrats used to be the more positive party than the Republicans.
00:21:34.000 You think, you remember back to Barack Obama?
00:21:36.000 He was always, not when he was president as much, but when he was candid Obama, he kind of got into this, we can do this, we can build, we can thrive, we can succeed.
00:21:46.000 And I got to admit, as a free market, conservative, constitutional guy, I was even won over by some of Obama's energy and charisma.
00:21:58.000 And Mr. Producer is nodding his head, and he said I was too.
00:22:01.000 I think that was Obama at his best.
00:22:04.000 Obviously, I disagreed with almost every public policy proposal.
00:22:06.000 I think he was a failure as president.
00:22:08.000 The point is that the Democrats were attractive.
00:22:12.000 The Democrats were successful, the more positive Obama was.
00:22:16.000 The more negative Obama got, the less appealing he was.
00:22:20.000 The more Obama complained, the more Obama pointed at Fox News and said, it's all Fox News' problem, he lost appeal.
00:22:26.000 The more professorial he became.
00:22:28.000 You saw that Barack Obama came out and he's arguing for reparations.
00:22:31.000 Do you see this?
00:22:32.000 Now, this is a complete and total side note that I did not plan on go here.
00:22:36.000 But isn't Obama half-white?
00:22:38.000 So should he pay reparations to himself?
00:22:40.000 How does that work?
00:22:42.000 Am I allowed to talk about this?
00:22:43.000 It's like political, correct, no-fly zone, right?
00:22:45.000 We are in a no-fly zone when it comes to political correct right now.
00:22:49.000 So Obama's very rich.
00:22:50.000 So who does he pay reparations to?
00:22:54.000 The point is, I'm not really even sure the point of that.
00:22:57.000 I just streaming consciousness.
00:22:59.000 But here's the point: Obama, when he was positive, not negative.
00:23:02.000 So Obama, instead of talking about black empowerment, talking about lifting people up, I think Obama's become radicalized in recent years.
00:23:10.000 And so the more radical a Democrat politician is publicly, the more negative they are by definition.
00:23:20.000 They have to be against whatever power structure currently exists.
00:23:27.000 And so the more positive Trump is, the more optimistic he is, the more forward-thinking he is, the more solution-oriented he is, the better.
00:23:38.000 And when politicians decide to go against President Trump, what happens?
00:23:45.000 Mitch McConnell has an approval rating 29 points lower than it was on Election Day, 29 points.
00:23:58.000 Over 73% of all Republicans that were polled believe that President Biden's election was not legitimate.
00:24:10.000 And so this is a great opportunity.
00:24:12.000 It also is something that I think President Trump could get hung up on if he is not talking about elevating candidates that care about election reform, care about middle class prosperity, care about giving a voice to the muscular class.
00:24:30.000 It's critically important.
00:24:32.000 And that's basically the main point of our conversation, or it was when I sat down with him.
00:24:38.000 It's the more positive, the better.
00:24:40.000 The more solution-oriented, the better, because it's his party.
00:24:45.000 Even Mitt Romney admits it's his party.
00:24:47.000 Mitt Romney came out and said, well, this is Donald Trump's party.
00:24:51.000 And even my small little sliver of the party doesn't stand a chance to really win in the Republican Party today.
00:24:58.000 I'm paraphrasing.
00:24:59.000 But basically, Mitt Romney admitted that he would lose in a landslide in the primary.
00:25:07.000 Don't be surprised if Mitt Romney runs for president in 2024.
00:25:12.000 Don't be surprised.
00:25:14.000 He would love the attention.
00:25:15.000 He would love the virtue signaling.
00:25:19.000 He would love the praise and defeat.
00:25:22.000 He would enjoy all of it.
00:25:24.000 He would love the long Washington Post puff pieces.
00:25:29.000 You know why?
00:25:30.000 Because Mitt Romney is trying to win the approval of an abusive parent.
00:25:38.000 It's like someone who is in an abusive relationship.
00:25:41.000 Mitt Romney was abused by the media in 2012.
00:25:45.000 So instead of standing up to them, instead of treating them like the bully they are, Mitt Romney, who they slandered as saying that he drove around with dogs on the top of his car, he said the trees were the right height in Michigan, the 47% comment, everything Mitt Romney has done since has been trying to say, please like me.
00:26:14.000 I'm a good person.
00:26:16.000 I know you didn't mean that stuff, but please like me.
00:26:20.000 When in reality, Mitt Romney should have become more hardened by that experience.
00:26:26.000 Mitt Romney should have saw who those people really were.
00:26:29.000 Mitt Romney deep down always wanted to win the approval of the Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford class in our country, the intelligentsia.
00:26:41.000 With the ever-increasing number of makes and models, the Fiat Kia and models such as the Pacific X-T5, it is now impossible to stock all the parts you need in a traditional chain storefront.
00:26:53.000 Why endure often pointless or just quite honestly irrelevant and intimidating questioning from people that want to fix your car?
00:27:01.000 Why wait while the counterman orders the parts on his computer?
00:27:05.000 Well, here's the cool thing.
00:27:06.000 I am now offering you a way to get all the parts you need.
00:27:09.000 Why would you choose to spend 30, 50 or 100% more on the exact same auto part at a chain store than on a new car dealership?

00:28:27.000 I want to get to some questions here that were emailed to us: freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:28:33.000 Lily says, Hi, Charlie.
00:28:34.000 My name is Lily.
00:28:35.000 I'm 16 years old, and I'm a frequent listener of the Charlie Kirk show in Texas.
00:28:39.000 Thank you for listening.
00:28:40.000 A leftist friend of mine believes socialism is the only way to prevent poverty and uses the model of socialism of Nordic countries to back up her point.
00:28:49.000 I was wondering how their system differs from other socialist countries.
00:28:53.000 On a different note, I was wondering your opinion of taxpayer dollars going towards FAFSA.
00:28:58.000 Thanks.
00:28:58.000 Well, Lily, this is a great question.
00:29:00.000 And rest assured, you're not the first person to encounter the Nordic socialism question.
00:29:07.000 We've talked about this at great length and we've posted a couple videos about it, but here's the long and short of it: part of the Scandinavian model is actually more pro-free market than the American model.
00:29:20.000 According to the World Economic Freedom Index, Norway, Sweden, Finland, when it comes to small business creation, is more economically free.
00:29:28.000 They do have higher taxes, but their regulatory environment has a higher likelihood of being able to start businesses.
00:29:38.000 So, this idea that they're completely socialist is a little bit of a false start.
00:29:43.000 It's a misnomer.
00:29:44.000 Rand Paul even talked about this in his book, The Case Against Socialism, where the head of the Denmark government said, Stop calling a socialist to Bernie Sanders.
00:29:54.000 The book is called Debunking Utopia: Exposing the Myth of Nordic Socialism.
00:29:58.000 Number two is that Norway, Sweden, and Finland traditionally was able to find some form of model that worked because they had incredibly strict immigration.
00:30:08.000 They had immigration levels that they were able to maintain and control.
00:30:12.000 That is not something that the modern Democrat Party wants to entertain anymore.
00:30:16.000 The modern Democrat Party wants complete and total open borders.
00:30:19.000 Norway, which has the largest sovereign wealth fund on the planet, $1 trillion, has it largely because of oil and natural gas.
00:30:31.000 Another thing that the left hates.
00:30:32.000 Do you know that Sweden has full and total school choice?
00:30:36.000 Something that the left also hates in this country.
00:30:38.000 They want complete and total government-run schools.
00:30:42.000 They do not want any form of school choice.
00:30:46.000 And look, Milton Friedman, one of his main messages was that you can either have open borders or socialism, not both.
00:30:56.000 That was his argument.
00:30:58.000 And so there are aspects of the Scandinavian model that I think work really well.
00:31:04.000 How they embrace small business, free enterprise, how they have always valued what it means to be a citizen of their country, how they take ownership of their country.
00:31:17.000 I think that's really admirable.
00:31:18.000 How they believe their country is not just a random place on the map that can be exploited by corporate interests.
00:31:24.000 I think that's actually something really admirable.
00:31:26.000 I think they take it too far, to be honest with you.
00:31:28.000 Taxes are too high for my liking.
00:31:30.000 I think that the culture that brings down success and ambition, especially in Norway, goes too far.
00:31:38.000 But I think there are some things that actually they do well.
00:31:39.000 There's some things I think they do horrific.
00:31:41.000 Healthcare, for example.
00:31:43.000 Their idea of clamping down on ambition.
00:31:48.000 The idea to look to government to solve your problems.
00:31:53.000 Those things I think that the Scandinavian countries do poorly.
00:31:56.000 But also, they have extra resources.
00:31:58.000 Why do they have extra resources?
00:32:00.000 Why do the Scandinavian countries have extra resources?
00:32:02.000 They don't have to pay for a military.
00:32:04.000 That's why.
00:32:05.000 They do not have to pay for a military because the United States of America subsidizes socialism in Europe by stationing our troops in Germany and funding most of NATO.
00:32:15.000 Now, Donald Trump changed a lot of this by actually getting the European countries to participate in NATO.
00:32:22.000 And just so we're all clear, in truth, most Nordic countries have actually reduced the size of government services and taxation in recent years because it was hurting economic growth.
00:32:32.000 So there's some parts of the Nordic model I do not like.
00:32:35.000 There's some parts that we could actually learn from.
00:32:38.000 Now, the Nordic countries or the Scandinavian countries are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark.
00:32:42.000 Those are the four Scandinavian countries.
00:32:46.000 But Sweden is screwing it up now.
00:32:48.000 Sweden is opening up their borders completely and they're paying a huge price for it.
00:32:52.000 And many people in Sweden are regretting it.
00:32:55.000 So if they want to bring Nordic socialism here, that means they believe in using oil and gas, oil, natural gas, school choice, and closing our borders.
00:33:05.000 That is at direct odds with everything the Democrat Party stands for.
00:33:12.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
