00:01:25.000 Joining us now is Brandon Gill.
00:01:27.000 A lot of chatter about his race.
00:01:29.000 It's happening today in the great state of Texas.
00:01:32.000 Brandon, welcome to the program.
00:01:34.000 Brandon, introduce yourself to our audience.
00:01:37.000 Charlie, first of all, thanks for having me.
00:01:39.000 You're right.
00:01:39.000 I'm running for U.S. Congress here in Texas 26th.
00:01:44.000 I tell you a bit about myself.
00:01:45.000 I grew up on a cattle ranch in West Texas, had a career in finance, which I left to get into the conservative media space.
00:01:53.000 Started a news outlet, which I think is President Trump's favorite online news outlet called DC Inquire, and worked on some documentaries as well, including 2,000 Mules two years ago.
00:02:03.000 And last fall, I was the executive producer of a movie called Police State, which traces how the federal government's been weaponized against conservatives and Christians.
00:02:12.000 And I'll tell you, the DC Swamp does not want a Trump-backed Senator Cruz-endorsed conservative fighter getting elected.
00:02:20.000 They're coming after us hard.
00:02:21.000 They've dumped $2 million into this district in total lies and slander only against me.
00:02:27.000 But we're fighting back and we're going to win this thing.
00:02:30.000 So tell us about your race, how many people are running and some of the dynamics involved of the people spending money against you.
00:02:37.000 Yeah, you know, there are 11 people in the race.
00:02:40.000 And maybe in my ignorance, before I got into the campaign side of politics, whenever I was in the conservative media space, I would always get frustrated.
00:02:50.000 You know, after making 2,000 meals, for example, I'd always get frustrated with why do no politicians or very few elected officials, even on the Republican side, will ever talk about things like election fraud, that the 2020 election was stolen, or will take a serious stance against the weaponization of government against conservatives and patriots and Christians.
00:03:11.000 And I've realized firsthand why that is.
00:03:14.000 It's because whenever you do, as I have in this race, and I've been endorsed by President Trump and Senator Cruz, and I've been saying I'm going to be in the Freedom Caucus immediately.
00:03:23.000 Whenever you do take that strong of a stance, the swamp goes ballistic.
00:03:27.000 And what's happened is we're early on in this race, 11 people in there, but some DC Swamp super PACs have dumped $2 million into attack ads only against me, not in favor of any other candidate or against any other candidate, just trying to knock me out.
00:03:44.000 And they're doing it because I'm the Trump guy.
00:03:46.000 I'm the Senator Cruz guy.
00:03:47.000 I'm the Freedom Caucus guy.
00:03:49.000 And I'm the person who will be unabashed in saying that the 2020 election was stolen and that we need to fight the weaponization at the FBI.
00:03:58.000 So we're in a really interesting place right now where, you know, it's kind of me versus the swamp, but we're fighting back.
00:04:05.000 We're feeling really good.
00:04:06.000 It's election day today.
00:04:07.000 I'm sitting out here out of the polls in Highland Village in Texas, and we're feeling good about things, but it's us against the swamp.
00:04:15.000 So you say that $2 million spent against you in a primary.
00:04:19.000 Can you give us more detail of who these groups are and what their motivations might be?
00:04:23.000 That's an extraordinary sum in a primary.
00:04:25.000 It is.
00:04:26.000 And just to give you a sense for the scale of that, this was probably a $1.5 million race three weeks ago.
00:04:33.000 These guys came in and turned it in basically overnight from a $1.5 million race to a $4.5 million race.
00:04:40.000 So these are, you know, these are DC super PACs.
00:04:43.000 And it's difficult to trace the way they set up these packs because the donors don't want their names out there and they intentionally try to try to obfuscate who these people are.
00:04:54.000 But what it looks like is these are potentially Soros-linked packs.
00:04:59.000 So George Soros made a big deal about flipping Texas blue several weeks ago.
00:05:04.000 Two days after that, these packs were created.
00:05:07.000 And it looks like it's also linked to some of the never Trumpers, some of the Never Trump or Republicans who, you know, for, I think it's great.
00:05:15.000 Trump is the nominee.
00:05:16.000 He's the leader of this party, and that's a very, very good thing.
00:05:19.000 But they don't like that.
00:05:20.000 They see that no matter what they do, they can't take Trump out.
00:05:23.000 So they're trying to take out Trump-backed candidates.
00:05:25.000 And Trump has endorsed me.
00:05:27.000 And I'm very proud.
00:05:28.000 I endorsed President Trump on the first day of my campaign, but the swamp doesn't like that.
00:05:32.000 So what are some of the other dynamics happening in Texas?
00:05:35.000 We're kind of seeing this play out across the state of Texas, trying to get rid of Dade Phelan and many other races.
00:05:41.000 What's going on in Texas?
00:05:42.000 It seems as if Democrats have been pretending to be Republicans for far too long.
00:05:46.000 Yeah, you know, it's fascinating because what we're seeing in Washington in Washington is very similar to what's happening in Austin as well.
00:05:54.000 There was a sham impeachment against President Trump.
00:05:57.000 And you talked about, you know this better than anybody about what happened to President Trump.
00:06:01.000 But it was the same thing with Ken Paxton in Austin.
00:06:05.000 There was no evidence to impeach the guy.
00:06:08.000 And yet they went and did it anyways out of the vendetta.
00:06:11.000 And frankly, I think it all comes down to, again, Ken Paxton was very strong on election integrity.
00:06:16.000 And the Democrats don't like that.
00:06:19.000 The left doesn't like that.
00:06:20.000 And unfortunately, a lot of people on the Republican side, the squishes, the weak Republicans don't like that either.
00:06:28.000 So, you know, the unfortunate thing is it's almost like we're not just up against the left right now.
00:06:33.000 We're up against the moderate, weaker side of our own party that's coming after us.
00:06:39.000 But, you know, the reality is Texas 26, the district that I'm in, this is Trump country.
00:06:45.000 This is a deep red MAGA district.
00:06:48.000 This district is going to go for Trump by a landslide.
00:06:51.000 And I think they're looking for a conservative fighter who's going to align himself with President Trump.
00:06:57.000 So at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much these DC swamp super PACs spend.
00:07:01.000 People can see through their lies.
00:07:03.000 And like I said, we're feeling really good today.
00:07:06.000 So talk more about what you plan to do, what the kind of mold you will be if you go to DC, the type of leader that you hope to be.
00:07:15.000 Because right now we're seeing continuing resolution after continuing resolution, the borders wide open.
00:07:20.000 We're spending trillions of dollars that we do not have.
00:07:23.000 What are some of the promises that you're pledging and that you and commitments you're making when you become a congressman from Texas?
00:07:30.000 Yep.
00:07:31.000 Well, I've said since the beginning of my campaign that I plan on being a member of the Freedom Caucus on day one.
00:07:36.000 The Freedom Caucus endorsed me and some of the best conservative fighters who are in the Freedom Caucus guys like Jim Jordan, like Warren Davidson, Anna Paulina, Luna, and many others have also endorsed me.
00:07:49.000 So my plan is immediately to join their ranks.
00:07:52.000 You know, I get asked oftentimes, you know, what can you do as one person in a house full of 435?
00:07:59.000 And my answer is that I'm not one person.
00:08:00.000 I'm going to join the most conservative fighters and move as a unit to fight this leftist juggernaut in our country.
00:08:07.000 Now, I've been saying, again, since the beginning of the campaign, that I think that we need to not only go back to President Trump's border policies that Biden got rid of immediately.
00:08:18.000 We need to be very clear.
00:08:19.000 We know that the border crisis right now, and this is the issue of the cycle, the border crisis is intentional, and the left is doing it to flood this country with people that they believe will be future reliable Democrat voters in perpetuity.
00:08:32.000 And they're doing it intentionally to flood this country with drugs and with crime and to tear apart our social fabric to create a crisis that big government can step in to solve.
00:08:43.000 And if we know that's why they're doing it, the answer is, and President Trump is ideologically on the forefront here of pushing for this, we have to deport every single illegal alien Joe Biden brought into this country.
00:08:56.000 President Trump knows that.
00:08:57.000 I'm going to be 100% behind him to do that.
00:09:00.000 Now, you referenced some continuing resolutions, and you're exactly right.
00:09:04.000 There's a reason that Congress's approval ratings are in the tank, and it's because we're governing via omnibus.
00:09:10.000 We're governing via short-term continuing resolutions.
00:09:13.000 We've got to go back to regular order.
00:09:15.000 We've got to cut reckless spending, but we've got to get, in order to do that, we've got to get conservative fighters who are willing to actually stand up in Washington.
00:09:24.000 And that's what I plan on doing.
00:09:25.000 You know, we've got, as conservatives, we've got the philosophy and the ideology correct.
00:09:31.000 Now, what we need is the backbone to actually go fight for what we believe in.
00:09:36.000 And, you know, I'm a fighter.
00:09:40.000 How do you feel?
00:09:41.000 Well, I feel great.
00:09:41.000 And one of the reasons I feel better is because I take Balance of Nature's fruit and veggies in a capsule.
00:09:46.000 They have an amazing story of how this product was developed by Dr. Douglas Howard.
00:09:50.000 It's right there on their website.
00:09:51.000 Balance of Nature receives over a thousand success stories every single month.
00:09:55.000 They've had hundreds of thousands of customers who've purchased billions of capsules of fruits and veggies over the past 20 years.
00:10:01.000 And you should check it all out on their website.
00:10:03.000 Their products are gluten-free and non-GMO, and they contain no added sugars or synthetics.

00:10:40.000 Check it out.
00:10:43.000 So, Brandon, you know, you're campaigning right now.
00:10:46.000 You're on the ground.
00:10:47.000 Talk about the generational approach that you're going to be bringing.
00:10:52.000 You're a father, and we are now creating a debtor nation.
00:10:56.000 We are adding $1 trillion to our debt every 100 days in this country.
00:11:00.000 There needs to be some urgency here.
00:11:02.000 We need some people from the next generation to go to DC and solve it.
00:11:06.000 Brandon Gill.
00:11:07.000 We do maybe I can put it this way: we've had a Republican Party for the past several decades who's still living in the 1980s, who's still living as if the Democrat Party that we are up against today is the same Democrat Party that we were up against in 1980, the same Democrat Party of Tip O'Neill or of the Blue Dog Democrats.
00:11:30.000 And the reality is that that Democrat Party is dead.
00:11:33.000 And if we're actually going to win in the political sphere, we need Republicans and conservatives to wake up and realize it.
00:11:40.000 That Democrat Party, which, you know, we I didn't agree with many things of the Democrats of the 1980s, but what we are up against right now is the Democrat Party of open borders, of driving our country off of a fiscal cliff intentionally, I think.
00:11:57.000 It's the Democrat Party of putting dirty books in our little children's schools.
00:12:00.000 I mean, could you imagine five years ago, we would be debating whether men and women can change genders or whether pornographic books should be in elementary schools.
00:12:11.000 I certainly didn't think we would get here this quickly, but here we are.
00:12:15.000 And we're at a point now where this is the Democrat Party who is creating an environment in America that is utterly unlivable.
00:12:25.000 To your point, whether it's fiscal spending that will collapse our economy, it's not a matter of if it will, it's a matter of when.
00:12:33.000 Intentionally creating just perverted curriculum in our schools, it's unlivable.
00:12:38.000 And listen, I have a seven-month-old daughter, Marigold.
00:12:41.000 She's the cutest little girl in the world.
00:12:43.000 And we have got to create a better America for her and stop letting the Democrats rip our country apart and create a country that we don't even recognize anymore.
00:12:55.000 That is exactly right.
00:12:56.000 And there needs to be a generational type mix up.
00:13:00.000 Final question here, Brandon.
00:13:02.000 You need to get 50 plus one to avoid a runoff.
00:13:04.000 Is that correct?
00:13:05.000 And if you go to a runoff, how does that work?
00:13:07.000 That's exactly right.
00:13:08.000 So, like I said, there are 11 people in the race right now.
00:13:11.000 Now, if nobody gets above 50%, then the top two go to a runoff.
00:13:15.000 The runoff will be held in late May.
00:13:18.000 We are feeling really, really good right now about potentially, we're hoping we can win this thing today without a runoff.
00:13:24.000 Now, 50 is a high bar whenever there are 11 people in the race, but I've been endorsed by President Trump and Senator Cruz and Jim Jordan and the Freedom Caucus and the people of Texas 26.
00:13:34.000 This is Trump country.
00:13:35.000 They're looking for a conservative fighter.
00:13:38.000 So for anybody listening who's in Texas 26, go out and vote.
00:13:42.000 Election days today.
00:13:43.000 Polls are open until seven o'clock.
00:13:46.000 Would really appreciate your support.
00:13:48.000 But listen, we're trying to do this thing today if we can, but we're feeling good regardless.
00:13:53.000 Brandon, we are behind you.
00:13:55.000 And if you have to go to a runoff, you're welcome back on the show.
00:13:58.000 Thanks so much.
00:13:59.000 Charlie, thanks for having me.
00:14:00.000 Brandon is 30 years old.
00:14:02.000 I'm 30.
00:14:03.000 And we need a whole new generation of urgent patriots.
00:14:08.000 I like that term, urgent patriots.
00:14:11.000 We need urgency.
00:14:13.000 We haven't really covered the news because I don't want to demoralize.
00:14:15.000 I try to pick the news not to, there's just so much negative news.
00:14:18.000 Congress is just out of control right now.
00:14:20.000 Continuing resolution, spending trillions of dollars, borders wide open.
00:14:24.000 It's just an unbelievable, unmitigated disaster.
00:14:27.000 Jim Jordan is joining us next to talk about some of the oversight and kind of what's going on right now in Washington, D.C. Trillions of dollars spending that we don't have.
00:14:39.000 And we need people like Brandon Gill.
00:14:41.000 They got to go in there and they got to say no.
00:14:43.000 We need to cut spending.
00:14:45.000 The trillions of dollars that we're spending that is resulting in mass inflation.
00:14:51.000 It's destroying the country.
00:14:52.000 It's destroying our purchasing power.
00:14:54.000 We have more dollar bills than goods and services.
00:14:58.000 And we have a video that is going viral right now.
00:15:00.000 Ryan, can you pick that video up on Instagram?
00:15:02.000 It might be good to play in the RAV only segment.
00:15:04.000 It's going very viral where, amazingly, they don't teach this.
00:15:07.000 They don't teach anything at college anymore.
00:15:09.000 These kids come up, they say, Charlie, I don't understand why we're living through inflation.
00:15:12.000 It's the spending.
00:15:14.000 It is the fiscal spending paired with the monetary influx.
00:15:20.000 Everyone's feeling it.
00:15:22.000 They're feeling it at the grocery store.
00:15:23.000 You're feeling it in goods and services.
00:15:27.000 It's because of the federal government.
00:15:29.000 100% because of both parties that have spent more money than they have.
00:15:33.000 Inflation is a silent killer tax.
00:15:36.000 It's a hidden tax.
00:15:37.000 You are getting 10 to 15% poorer every single year because of this current regime.
00:15:42.000 Unless you own land and you can adjust your rents and adjust your costs in real time, you're getting poor.
00:15:51.000 If you're renting, you're getting poor.
00:15:53.000 And that's exactly how they want it.
00:15:54.000 You'll own nothing and you'll be happy.
00:15:58.000 Hey, this is Charlie Kirk, and I know a lot of you have been suffering under the Biden economy.
00:16:03.000 Recently, school loan payments have been reinstated, and for many, it's adding thousands to their monthly expenses.
00:16:08.000 My friends, Andrew Delray and Todd of Akien, they're amazing.
00:16:11.000 They really helped me through a tough, tough situation recently.
00:16:13.000 They've been excellent.
00:16:15.000 They're ethical.
00:16:16.000 They're just really great people.
00:16:18.000 They're followers of Jesus Christ, and our worldviews are the same.
00:16:21.000 I love them.
00:16:22.000 And so please go to AndrewNTodd.com.
00:16:24.000 Interest rates are coming down, and they may be able to lower your overall payment.
00:16:27.000 In fact, one of our team members said, Charlie, is it time for me to own a home?
00:16:30.000 I sat down.
00:16:30.000 I went through the numbers.
00:16:31.000 I said, get in the owner game.
00:16:32.000 Honestly, enough renting.
00:16:33.000 You are burning your money renting.
00:16:34.000 It might be a little bit more to own, but you're building equity.
00:16:37.000 That's money you'll have for the rest of your life.
00:16:39.000 Perhaps a reverse mortgage is a perfect solution.
00:16:41.000 It's about expertise you could trust in times like this.
00:16:44.000 I can't tell you how helpful they've been for me personally.
00:16:46.000 They've just been excellent.
00:16:47.000 Andrew and Todd, I'm honored to call them friends.
00:16:49.000 We hang out when I go to Orange County together.
00:16:51.000 They're really great.
00:16:52.000 So say, Charlie sent me 888-888-1172.
00:16:54.000 That's 888-888-1172.
00:16:56.000 They helped me through a mortgage situation recently that was super complex and moving pieces, and it was really, really tough.
00:17:03.000 And other banks, by the way, wanted nothing to do with it, and they crushed it for me.
00:17:06.000 10 out of 10.
00:17:07.000 AndrewandTodd.com.
00:17:08.000 So check it out right now, AndrewandTodd.com.
00:17:13.000 Joining us now is Congressman Jim Jordan.
00:17:15.000 He's doing a great job.
00:17:15.000 Congressman, I do not envy your position.
00:17:18.000 What is it, a two-seat majority now that you're dealing with, Congressman?
00:17:22.000 Yep.
00:17:23.000 Yeah, it's a slim majority.
00:17:24.000 But, you know, look, we got to do what we told the American people we're going to do, and let's figure out a way to get that done.
00:17:28.000 By the way, Charlie, the reason there's confidence is down in the dollar is because Joe Biden's in the White House.
00:17:33.000 I mean, that's the relationship there.
00:17:35.000 You were talking about gold and the dollar, but the reason there's confidence down in the dollar is Biden's policies, inflationary policies and everything else.
00:17:42.000 So God bless you for pointing that out.
00:17:45.000 Thank you.
00:17:45.000 Yeah, it's absolutely right.
00:17:47.000 And he is deteriorating the dollar.
00:17:49.000 I think it's intentional, Congressman.
00:17:51.000 And that's the motives of society.
00:17:53.000 So everything else.
00:17:54.000 Yeah, everything else is intentional.
00:17:56.000 They intentionally opened the border.
00:17:58.000 They've intentionally done bad energy policy that creates high gas prices and hurts every family.
00:18:02.000 They've intentionally created this inflation problem.
00:18:04.000 They've intentionally let bad guys out.
00:18:06.000 So we used to have safe streets.
00:18:08.000 Now we got record crime.
00:18:09.000 So everything else is intentional.
00:18:10.000 I wouldn't know why that wouldn't be.
00:18:12.000 Yeah, so let's start on that, the border.
00:18:14.000 You're the chairman of the House Judiciary.
00:18:16.000 What has your role, if any, been on trying to check and balance and oversee this administration when it comes to the border crisis?
00:18:22.000 You have so much on your plate.
00:18:23.000 What can you comment on that?
00:18:25.000 Well, the first thing we did is the bill came through our committee and homeland security committee where we had the strongest immigration enforcement border security legislation, you know, HR2.
00:18:36.000 We passed that a year ago.
00:18:37.000 So that came, we worked on legislation that would actually remedy the problem.
00:18:41.000 But of course, Chuck Schumer won't bring it up and Joe Biden's against it.
00:18:44.000 And then, of course, we try to bring in key witnesses and talk about the situation and then subpoena documents so that the Americans know what's going on.
00:18:52.000 I remember the big hearing we had a while back, a year ago, when we asked Secretary Mayorkas, hey, what's the number of people who come across who are on the terrorist watch list?
00:19:02.000 And his response was, I don't know.
00:19:05.000 He couldn't tell us.
00:19:06.000 And then we asked him, we said, well, what are those individuals that you do encounter who are on the terrorist watch list?
00:19:11.000 Are you detaining them?
00:19:12.000 Are you sending them back?
00:19:13.000 What do you do?
00:19:14.000 And he says, I'll have to get back with you.
00:19:15.000 So, I mean, it didn't inspire a lot of confidence.
00:19:18.000 So we continue to try to do the oversight that the Constitution requires us to do of the executive branch.
00:19:23.000 We're going to keep that up.
00:19:24.000 But as we've always said, they created this problem on day one with their intentional decisions to go against the policies President Trump had in place.
00:19:34.000 So in addition to the border, we can't forget the Biden crime family.
00:19:38.000 We did a whole hour, Congressman.
00:19:40.000 It seems more and more like Biden is white-knuckling on power.
00:19:43.000 It doesn't look like he's going away.
00:19:45.000 Can you just give us some update on the Hunter Biden deposition that didn't get the coverage that I think it deserved?
00:19:52.000 You guys did a great job bringing him in.
00:19:54.000 Can you give us some deposition update for our audience?
00:19:58.000 Yeah, the biggest takeaway is Hunter Biden came in and said things that were in direct contradiction of what other people under oath, witnesses we've deposed, said.
00:20:07.000 I mean, for example, he said that when he was in Dubai with his partner, Devin Archer, meeting with the CEO of Burisma, and he was asked by the CEO, can you help alleviate the pressure we are under from the prosecutor in Ukraine?
00:20:21.000 Devin Archer testified that Hunter Biden stepped away and called D.C. and called his dad.
00:20:26.000 When we asked Hunter Biden that, he says, I didn't call D.C. and I didn't call my dad.
00:20:29.000 So somebody's not being square with us.
00:20:31.000 You got two just contradictory, directly 180 degrees contradiction in statements.
00:20:36.000 Hunter Biden said he doesn't know who the big guy is, never used that term, don't know who it refers to.
00:20:41.000 Hunter Biden said, I don't ever recall dropping off a laptop at a computer store in Delaware.
00:20:47.000 I mean, and on and on it goes.
00:20:48.000 So that to me was the biggest takeaway.
00:20:51.000 Someone's not being square with us.
00:20:53.000 We're going to try to figure all that out.
00:20:55.000 But that was the biggest takeaway in my judgment from his deposition.
00:20:59.000 Yeah, I mean, I got to be honest, is this a new wrinkle that the administrative state has developed where their star witnesses just have selective amnesia whenever they have to be held accountable?
00:21:09.000 James Comey did this.
00:21:11.000 It's a cute way where they can still show up, not plead the fifth, and they don't answer any of your questions.
00:21:16.000 It's maddening.
00:21:18.000 Yeah, and I think they understand that if there was a referral, for example, if we would refer him to the Justice Department for not being square with us while he's under oath, testifying in front of Congress, I think they probably are pretty confident that the same Justice Department that was going to give him, that tried to sweetheart deal last summer, that same Justice Department's probably not going to prosecute him for giving false information to Congress.
00:21:42.000 So I think he's probably pretty confident in that.
00:21:44.000 Maybe that's why he came in and said the things he did and said them in the way that he said them.
00:21:49.000 It seems as if it's strategic, right?
00:21:51.000 I mean, give me a break.
00:21:52.000 I mean, again, he's kind of a cokehead, so maybe he doesn't remember, but I mean, it doesn't remember dropping off the laptop in Delaware.
00:22:00.000 It's obviously his.
00:22:02.000 So next thing I want to talk to you about here is the funding the government and the Ukraine spending.
00:22:08.000 I've been communicating with Speaker Johnson.
00:22:10.000 I don't envy your guys' position.
00:22:12.000 Two-seat majority.
00:22:13.000 It's hard to keep it all together.
00:22:15.000 But what wins can you share with our audience, Congressman?
00:22:18.000 Because we're desperate for a couple victories here.
00:22:20.000 Yeah, hopefully we will not we're certainly not going to bring up the Senate bill that had the Ukraine funding and all the other funding in it as well.
00:22:27.000 I'm for funding Israel.
00:22:28.000 I'm for helping our dearest and closest ally, the state of Israel.
00:22:32.000 I think we should do that.
00:22:33.000 But I'm not for sending the money to Ukraine because when it comes to Ukraine, I always go back to the basics.
00:22:38.000 Nobody can tell me what the ultimate objective is.
00:22:41.000 What's the goal here?
00:22:43.000 Is it to drive Russia out of the eastern region, what I think it's called the Donbass region?
00:22:48.000 Is it to drive him out of Crimea?
00:22:49.000 They've had Crimea now for 10 years.
00:22:51.000 10 years ago, I think this month is when they went into Crimea.
00:22:54.000 So what is the objective here?
00:22:56.000 And then how are we going to get that done when you have Ukraine, a country of 40 million, fighting a country, the Russia of 140 million?
00:23:06.000 Again, I don't see the objective here.
00:23:08.000 And I don't see the commander-in-chief, the guy who's supposed to make the case to the American people saying, here's our goal, America.
00:23:16.000 Here's why we're going to send billions of your tax dollars to this foreign country.
00:23:20.000 And here's how we're going to accomplish that.
00:23:21.000 He's never laid that out.
00:23:23.000 I don't know that he's capable of laying that out.
00:23:25.000 But until that happens, I don't know why we would continue to send the hard-earned money of the American people to Ukraine, particularly when you think about the situation on our southern border.
00:23:35.000 And the indifference about the suffering on the border is just so frustrating.
00:23:38.000 And by the way, God bless you for that moral clarity on that, Congressman.
00:23:42.000 And you have this two-seat majority, and just to be able to even get all the Republicans in agreement on that has just been nearly impossible.
00:23:51.000 So I suppose we're going to get some sort of a deal for the individual spending bills.
00:23:56.000 Can you just talk our audience about how we're at least starting to get rid of these mini, again, I don't think a mini-bus is a win, but I suppose it's better than an omnibus, I suppose.
00:24:06.000 Yeah, I mean, I guess, well, in some ways, maybe, but, you know, you can get, what's the old line?
00:24:12.000 You can get run over by two smaller buses just like you can get run over by one big bus.
00:24:16.000 So we do have one of those smaller buses happening this week.
00:24:20.000 I think it's six bills.
00:24:21.000 And I'm going through it.
00:24:23.000 I'm probably a no on this.
00:24:25.000 Actually, I'm definitely a no because it's, I don't, I know we're not getting the policy that we want, particularly on some of the things relative to the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security, which our committee has tries to influence.
00:24:36.000 So I'll be voting against it.
00:24:39.000 What I think is the best strategy, and I know I don't like CRs either, but I'm actually for a long-term CR all the way to the end of the fiscal year.
00:24:46.000 I've heard about this.
00:24:47.000 I was a skeptic.
00:24:48.000 So tell us about this.
00:24:49.000 Yeah.
00:24:50.000 Well, because we've got in place, if we're in a CR past April 30th, there's an automatic 1% across the board cut.
00:24:57.000 We would save more money than we ever save in Congress on certainly on discretionary spending.
00:25:02.000 We would save more than we've ever done.
00:25:04.000 So we should do that.
00:25:05.000 And then all of a sudden people want to come talk to you and say, you know what, those policies you wanted, those reforms you needed, and we're trying to get in the Justice Department.
00:25:12.000 We're willing to talk to you now because we want our earmarks and we don't want to cut 1% funding in some of our key programs.
00:25:19.000 And suddenly you have an incentive.
00:25:20.000 You have a position of leverage that you can use in a negotiation to get some policy for the American people.
00:25:26.000 I was all for that.
00:25:27.000 That's the play I thought we should have been running since last fall.
00:25:31.000 Frankly, it's what I campaigned on when I was running for speaker.
00:25:34.000 I said we should go with this play because we've called this play.
00:25:36.000 It makes the most sense and divided government to put us in a position to actually be able to win, have some leverage to win.
00:25:43.000 But unfortunately, we're not going to do it.
00:25:44.000 This is thanks to Thomas Massey.
00:25:46.000 Oh, so you don't think that's going to happen is what you're saying?
00:25:48.000 I don't.
00:25:48.000 I don't.
00:25:49.000 They're going to pass this.
00:25:50.000 They're going to pass one of these appropriation bills that is going to spend at a slightly higher amount, not saving any money and not getting the policy.
00:25:58.000 Well, and what you're talking about, Congressman, is that, and I want to make sure I'm clear, is that it's an actual cut, not a cut in the rate of growth.
00:26:05.000 I think that's an important distinction.
00:26:06.000 Is that right?
00:26:07.000 It was a legit cut.
00:26:09.000 Legit cut in discretionary spending.
00:26:10.000 But now remember, under Pelosi and Biden, the last Congress, they jacked up spending tremendously.
00:26:16.000 Yeah, but it would be better to cut from the business.
00:26:18.000 It's a cut from that.
00:26:19.000 A cut from the baseline, of course.
00:26:20.000 And that's what we want because the main thing is so many Democrats can't cut any spending.
00:26:26.000 And all these Democrats have earmarks in these bills.
00:26:28.000 And frankly, a bunch of Republicans do too.
00:26:31.000 And that's the leverage you want to say.
00:26:34.000 If you want those earmarks and you want that spending, you better talk to us about certain policy.
00:26:39.000 In this situation, what we're getting is they're getting the earmarks and they're getting increased spending.
00:26:43.000 We're not getting the policy that we need.
00:26:45.000 Just in closing, Congressman, what are the top things on your to-do list the next couple of months?
00:26:51.000 We're heading up to an election.
00:26:52.000 You have a lot of oversight still to do.
00:26:54.000 You have a regime that is trying to defy and ignore you.
00:26:57.000 What are your top priorities as chairman of the Judiciary Committee?
00:27:00.000 Well, the two key things coming up.
00:27:01.000 One, we got a hearing this Thursday that starts to delve into how the big banks working with big government and other big corporations are looking at Americans' financial transactions, their financial data, getting information there.
00:27:12.000 And it is just like with the Twitter files and all the censorship and the Facebook files and everything else we've uncovered, it is targeted towards conservatives.
00:27:18.000 You shop at Bass Pro Shop.
00:27:20.000 You shop at a Christian bookstore.
00:27:24.000 They want to know your purchase.
00:27:25.000 It's scary.
00:27:26.000 It's frightening.
00:27:27.000 So we're going to launch into that with a hearing this Thursday.
00:27:31.000 And then, of course, next week, we have Robert Hur, who was the special counsel who looked at Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents and said Joe Biden willfully, intentionally, deliberately mishandled classified documents, willfully, intentionally, deliberately gave some of that information to the ghostwriter of his book, but he's not going to charge him because Joe Biden is an old man who's forgetful and would be perceived as sympathetic by a jury.
00:27:54.000 And we're going to probe into that in an open hearing with Robert Hurr next Tuesday.
00:28:00.000 Congressman Jim Jordan, keep fighting.
00:28:02.000 Thank you so much.
00:28:03.000 Are you too good?
00:28:04.000 Thanks for all you do.

00:29:11.000 Okay, everybody, welcome back.
00:29:12.000 The Maricopa County Recorder has got to go.
00:29:15.000 Stephen Richer, we've been saying that for quite some time.
00:29:18.000 Joining us now is State Representative from Arizona, Justin Heap, does a great job, member of the Arizona Freedom Caucus and candidate for Maricopa County Recorder.
00:29:27.000 Representative Heap, welcome to the program.
00:29:30.000 Thank you for having me, Charlie.
00:29:31.000 So tell us about why you're running for Maricopa County Recorder against Mr. Richer.
00:29:37.000 Well, Arizona right now stands at, I think, a pivotal moment in our country's history.
00:29:41.000 So Arizona is not just a swing state, it is a must-win state for both parties.
00:29:47.000 And all roads in Arizona lead through Maricopa County.
00:29:50.000 It's the largest county.
00:29:51.000 It has about 65% of Arizona's population lives in Maricopa County.
00:29:58.000 And despite that, for the last four election cycles, we have had an election system that had been marred with chaos on day of voting, delayed votes for early ballots.
00:30:13.000 And this, and if anyone remembers, in 2023, it took almost two weeks for Maricopa County to tell us who had actually won the election.
00:30:23.000 And this has made Maricopa County the laughing stock of our nation.
00:30:28.000 And so I am running for county recorder because as I have worked as a member of the legislature and the election committee, studying election law, seeing where the problems arise in our system, it's become clear that we have in our state election officials that are not following the law as they should, that basic procedures of safety, like signature verification, chain of custody, are not being complied with.
00:30:57.000 And what this has done in Arizona and in Maricopa County specifically is bring about a precipitous collapse in the confidence that Arizonans have in their voting system.
00:31:09.000 So I am running because We need primarily our fundamental duty as election officials is to make sure that we are reassuring all citizens that their votes count, that the election safeties, safeguards, and procedures are being followed.
00:31:29.000 And our current county recorder is not doing that.
00:31:31.000 We have had a precipitous drop in trust in the elections.
00:31:35.000 In our last election cycle, we had 300,000 active Republican voters simply did not turn up to vote.
00:31:43.000 Now, pundits can give all sorts of theories for why that might be and talk about candidate choice, but for me, that represents a monumental collapse in the confidence that we have in our voting system here in Arizona and in Maricopa County specifically.
00:31:59.000 And so the only way that we can restore that confidence and bring those voters back and is by greater openness, by greater transparency, by assuring the voters that their vote matters.
00:32:13.000 And that is the fundamental duty and trust given to our elected officials.
00:32:16.000 And our current county recorder just is not doing that.
00:32:19.000 So I intend to run an office that can run elections efficiently and that can follow our state laws and our safeguards and restore some confidence and trust in our system.
00:32:31.000 That is the basis of our system, that the people's voice can be heard through their vote.
00:32:36.000 And that is how we give the government consent to what our wishes are.
00:32:40.000 And if we can't trust our election system, then it will be a disaster both for our voters here in Arizona and potentially for the whole country.
00:32:48.000 It's all about trust and people's trust in the election system is at an all-time low.
00:32:53.000 And we want, by the way, it shouldn't take all week to count ballots.
00:32:57.000 It shouldn't take all week to get them in.
00:32:59.000 I think we lost Justin there for a second.
00:33:00.000 We're going to have him back on.
00:33:02.000 It is State Representative Justin Heap, who is now challenging Stephen Richer, who is the county recorder here in Maricopa County.
00:33:09.000 This is a huge local deal, and we can do everything we possibly can to help him out.
00:33:17.000 Thanks so much for listening.
00:33:18.000 Everybody, email us as alwaysfreedom at charliekirk.com.
