00:01:27.000 Do you know that a majority of Christians are planning not to vote this election cycle?
00:01:31.000 And there's a lot of disinformation and spiritual darkness around how Christians should view this election.
00:01:38.000 Joining us now is Jack Hibbs, who is a great man.
00:01:43.000 I listen to him every week I can.
00:01:45.000 Founder and president of the Real Life Network, senior and founding pastor of Calvary Chapel at Chino Hills, an author of Living in the Days of Deception, and a spiritual mentor of mine.
00:01:54.000 Jack, great to see you, my friend.
00:01:56.000 Charlie, I love you, brother.
00:01:57.000 Thanks.
00:01:58.000 Thank you.
00:01:58.000 So, Jack, let's just begin with how should Christians view politics and specifically this election?
00:02:05.000 Yeah, number one, right out of the Bible, as a sacred trust.
00:02:09.000 Charlie, it's one of those things that Jesus said in a parable, that he gave one man one responsibility, another man a different responsibility, and the third man another one.
00:02:19.000 Each of them had their opportunity to advance what was given to them.
00:02:24.000 Jesus called them talents, not playing the piano.
00:02:26.000 It's opportunity to make a difference.
00:02:29.000 And he condemned the one who took the opportunity that they had and buried it under the ground or put it under a basket.
00:02:37.000 So for the Christian today to say, I'm going to sit out the vote, is to actually give the vote to, for example, Kamala Harris and her anti-Israel, anti-life, anti-God's design for marriage, anti-border, anti-constitutional belief system, she'll just surrender all of that.
00:02:57.000 So the Christian somehow has deluded himself, Charlie, into thinking, if I don't vote, I'm doing good.
00:03:03.000 No, in the reality, you are practicing apathy because if I can vote for Trump and block the death of one more child, look, neither one of these candidates can walk on water.
00:03:15.000 Christians need to really grow up and understand that only Jesus did that, and he's the only one that can do that.
00:03:20.000 We're not voting for a Pope or for a priest or for a Messiah, Charlie.
00:03:26.000 And I like to say this, that if Trump were to win, I get J.D. Vance, I get Vivek, I get Tulsi, I get Elon, I get a lot of people, I get RFK, I get a lot of people that's going to do really good for this nation.
00:03:42.000 If I sit it out, I take my Christian, Judeo-Christian fundamental...
00:03:49.000 Freedom of this nation, this constitutional republic, not a democracy.
00:03:53.000 And I bury it.
00:03:55.000 And Charlie, it's unacceptable.
00:03:57.000 Every Christian who names the name of Christ should go vote, frankly, for Trump because he's closest to a biblical worldview.
00:04:05.000 He's not perfect.
00:04:06.000 Nobody is.
00:04:08.000 But he's the one that fits the bill best for the believer.
00:04:10.000 We got to get away from emotions and get back to obedience to the Bible.
00:04:14.000 I love that, Jack.
00:04:15.000 And I want to just take a pause here and say, God bless you for speaking out, because so many pastors are silent right now.
00:04:22.000 Why is that, Jack?
00:04:23.000 Why are they overcomplicating this?
00:04:26.000 Why is it that pastors, where it's so clear that on one side you have abortion trucks at their national convention, and you have Easter becoming the transgender day of awareness, and You have anti-Israel, anti-Jew hatred, open borders, sex trafficking.
00:04:46.000 Why are pastors failing at their task so miserably?
00:04:51.000 Charlie, the answer is too long for me to put into this entire program.
00:04:54.000 I'll tell you this right now, though.
00:04:56.000 Lack of fear of God, number one thing.
00:04:58.000 They're not reading the Bibles for themselves.
00:05:00.000 I'm talking to the pastors in America.
00:05:02.000 They're not studying and reading the Bibles for themselves.
00:05:05.000 So they cannot address the issues that their congregants are dealing with Monday through Friday, or even Saturday in the soccer field.
00:05:11.000 The conversations they've not equipped their people to deal with at the water cooler on Monday morning.
00:05:16.000 They do sermons, or as Charles Spurgeon says, they preach sermonettes for Christianettes.
00:05:21.000 we've got to equip our people for the darkest age that this world and that this nation has ever seen it is the christian pastor that should put away his fear and by the way if his board or his denomination says you can't talk about this stuff it's time to either get fired from that denomination or go start a church down the street but the hour is so late that i believe god has been so merciful that if the christian doesn't get involved uh this
00:05:48.000 the result of this election is going to be the church's engagement or not?
00:05:53.000 That's going to define the results of this election.
00:05:56.000 Jack, I completely agree with that, and I want to just reiterate it, okay?
00:05:59.000 Which is that the church is the counselor to the king.
00:06:03.000 As the church influences or does not influence, the culture and the nation will go.
00:06:09.000 And right now the Church is indifferent towards the suffering of our neighbor, towards the persecution of the believer.
00:06:15.000 So I want to ask you about what Christianity Today published yesterday.
00:06:21.000 Christianity Today says, quote, In a binary election with choices like these, not voting may be the best way for many Christians to heed their consciences and promptings of the Holy Spirit even to vote biblically.
00:06:36.000 Your reaction, Jack Hibbs, to Christianity Today?
00:06:39.000 It's my understanding that no spirit-filled, indwelt, Holy Spirit living inside the true believer would say at an hour like this, don't get involved, let babies die.
00:06:51.000 Don't get involved, let's keep trafficking kids across the border.
00:06:55.000 And listen...
00:06:56.000 Since when have we taken our conscience and made it greater than the Bible itself?
00:07:02.000 My conscience is to be rebuked by the Bible.
00:07:05.000 My conscience is to be shaped by the Word of God.
00:07:08.000 My conscience is not king.
00:07:10.000 Jesus is king.
00:07:11.000 But a lot of this rhetoric, Charlie, is going on because people want to feel better about themselves.
00:07:16.000 And just shame on that kind of thinking.
00:07:19.000 But you know what, Charlie?
00:07:21.000 Jesus said in the last days when he returned, would he even find faith on the earth?
00:07:25.000 Apathy seems to be what's being served up in the pulpits today, and tragically, by cowards.
00:07:33.000 They have completely shirked their biblical calling to equip and disciple their people to engage in a godless culture.
00:07:42.000 Only by the grace and the mercy of God do we still even have a country where we can have this discussion, because we don't deserve liberty anymore.
00:07:48.000 We have turned our back as a nation, and only because of God's goodness do we continue to have even a little bit of this freedom.
00:07:56.000 So Jack, I want you to talk about an objection that we receive from pastors every so often, where pastors will say, but I can't speak out on politics because of the Johnson Amendment and the Internal Revenue Service.
00:08:09.000 So Jack, there is one Sunday before the election.
00:08:11.000 This is the last chance for pastors to get it right.
00:08:14.000 Right now, they're probably back in their offices, they're preparing their Sunday sermons, but many of them are afraid to speak out because of the IRS. Jack, how should we think about this?
00:08:24.000 Yeah, well, number one, if you want some help about your sermon prep on this topic, you can check out my sermon that I just did a couple weeks ago on this.
00:08:30.000 It was excellent.
00:08:31.000 It was excellent.
00:08:32.000 When a Christian doesn't vote, or you can also listen to the great sermon by Gary Hemrick.
00:08:39.000 So here's the thing.
00:08:41.000 IRS? Are you afraid of the IRS? Why are you afraid of the IRS? Does God need the IRS? Does your church need the Johnson Amendment or 501c3?
00:08:50.000 Pastor, listen.
00:08:52.000 You and I are to answer to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
00:08:55.000 And if we don't exercise our freedoms, pastors have the First Amendment right also.
00:09:00.000 We pay taxes.
00:09:01.000 We can speak.
00:09:03.000 Listen, Taylor Swift doesn't hold anything back, but we see pastors holding back.
00:09:07.000 back pastors Ezekiel 33 God said through the watchman on the wall if you do not blow the trumpet of warning to the evil that is coming to your people God said I will require their blood from your hand if you do not warn them if you warn them and they do not listen to you then it's on their head but I'm commanding you to warn them Every pastor must, this Sunday, speak out on the biblical answer to apologetics.
00:09:34.000 The unborn, marriage, gender, Israel, borders, the United States, the founding of this country.
00:09:42.000 It's endless.
00:09:43.000 Stop thinking that this is sacred and that over there is secular.
00:09:47.000 Under God, it's all secular.
00:09:50.000 Or excuse me, under God, the secular is all sacred.
00:09:52.000 Jesus made that clear.
00:09:54.000 When he said, render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's.
00:09:58.000 Every Jew, Charlie, every Jew in the audience, when Jesus said that, they understood.
00:10:03.000 Oh my gosh, he just placed Caesar under the rule of God.
00:10:07.000 Because he wasn't saying Caesar's in charge of this and God's in charge of that.
00:10:11.000 No, Caesar is even under the charge of God.
00:10:15.000 Rome is under God's authority.
00:10:17.000 And they all got it back then.
00:10:18.000 It's only the Western church that has completely messed this up.
00:10:22.000 We've got to register to vote.
00:10:25.000 biblical worldview value.
00:10:27.000 And frankly, the party, for crying out loud, if you don't know how to vote, one party is for wholesale death.
00:10:32.000 They even did it at their convention.
00:10:34.000 And the other party is for the preservation of life.
00:10:38.000 If you don't know who these people are, then just vote down ballot life party versus death party.
00:10:45.000 Simple as that.
00:10:46.000 It's not hard.
00:10:47.000 Jack, thank you for your moral clarity.
00:10:48.000 If we had a thousand Jack Cibbs in this country, we would be in a far better place.
00:10:53.000 I mean that.
00:10:53.000 Your confidence, you're filled with the spirit, your clarity, your conviction.
00:10:58.000 God bless you, Jack.

00:12:05.000 Days of Deception is the book D-A-Z-E. Now, Jack, we're very focused on battleground states, but I got to give you credit.
00:12:12.000 Can you just riff on the energy that you have in California?
00:12:15.000 We can't forget our California brethren.
00:12:18.000 And so just for you, Jack, I want you to riff a little bit about how all states need to fight for liberty, regardless of the electoral chances or college probabilities.
00:12:27.000 Yeah, listen everybody, be encouraged because not only has California been the state that people have justifiably written off forever, but what's been happening, we've been at the bottom for so long and we are so debased here that we've even sent people like Kamala Harris from California to Washington.
00:12:44.000 So please stop.
00:12:45.000 But here's the deal.
00:12:47.000 In California, Charlie, we have traveled up and down the state of California.
00:12:50.000 We have held rallies to equip churches and pastors and congregants on how to do voter registration.
00:12:56.000 In California, ballot collections legal.
00:12:59.000 We've perfected that.
00:13:00.000 And then we've also equipped pastors on how to speak to the issues.
00:13:04.000 We've had such great turnout that it has been overwhelming.
00:13:08.000 I'm a native-born and raised Californian.
00:13:10.000 I have never seen so many people excited and motivated.
00:13:14.000 And please do keep this in mind, everybody.
00:13:16.000 Ever since 2016, California has been trending more and more red, more and more conservative, and you don't ever hear about it.
00:13:25.000 But I'm going to prove it to you right now.
00:13:27.000 Who is the Speaker of the House?
00:13:29.000 His name is Mike Johnson.
00:13:31.000 Where did he get his job from?
00:13:32.000 Kevin McCarthy.
00:13:34.000 How did Kevin McCarthy get the job?
00:13:36.000 Nancy Pelosi got fired because California sent more congressmen and women to Washington, D.C. than any other state in that 2022 election cycle.
00:13:46.000 Something's happening in California.
00:13:48.000 People are getting charged up.
00:13:51.000 And Charlie, don't be surprised if we see some awesome numbers on election night coming out of California.
00:13:57.000 I love it, Jack.
00:13:58.000 In closing here, Jack, just for the audience, if they have a quivering or a trembling pastor, these couple days, as their pastors are getting their sermon notes together, how should they approach their pastor?
00:14:10.000 Let's say they've gone to a church for 20 years.
00:14:11.000 Let's take one example.
00:14:12.000 Here in Phoenix, there's a church called CCV. It's the biggest church in Arizona.
00:14:16.000 They're completely silent on the most radical abortion measure in the country, Jack.
00:14:21.000 So we have a thing called Prop 139 here in Arizona.
00:14:23.000 It's as bad as it gets.
00:14:24.000 It's California-style abortion for minors.
00:14:28.000 I'm not kidding.
00:14:29.000 Not an exaggeration.
00:14:30.000 CCV here in Phoenix is massive.
00:14:32.000 You've probably heard of it.
00:14:33.000 Totally silent.
00:14:34.000 They have not said a word, anything.
00:14:36.000 Let's say someone's gone to that church for 20 years.
00:14:38.000 How should they approach that?
00:14:39.000 I mean, as we get closer to the election, this Sunday, that's it.
00:14:43.000 This is the last chance.
00:14:44.000 How should the rank and file approach that with pastors that they've tithed to, prayed for, and loved?
00:14:50.000 Yeah, number one, listen, Isaiah chapter 10 verse 1 says, stop those who write bad laws.
00:14:55.000 Isaiah 10 verse 1.
00:14:57.000 Proverbs 29 verse 2.
00:14:59.000 When the righteous are in power, the people rejoice.
00:15:01.000 When the wicked are in power, the people groan.
00:15:03.000 All right?
00:15:04.000 And listen, bottom line is this.
00:15:06.000 I hate to put it to you this way, but God designed churches to become like their pastors and their pastors should follow Christ.
00:15:13.000 You're going to become like your pastor.
00:15:15.000 You're going to be tempted to be silent.
00:15:17.000 Get out of there quick because, listen, the number one person that is mentioned that inherits hell in Revelation chapter 21 verse 8 is the coward.
00:15:26.000 I don't want to hear any excuses from pastors.
00:15:29.000 The ship is sinking and they want to talk about, what, lighting and smoke screens?
00:15:34.000 No, listen, this is our last moment to preserve this republic.
00:15:38.000 And I believe that God has designed it right now, Charlie, to fall on the shoulders of the church.
00:15:43.000 You and I know well, the answer is not in the White House or in the State House.
00:15:47.000 The answer is going to be in God's house.
00:15:50.000 And what will we do with this opportunity, Charlie?
00:15:53.000 By the way, Jack, the secular world is looking at the church.
00:15:56.000 I want you to comment on this minute remaining.
00:15:58.000 Why is the church so silent?
00:16:00.000 The secular world, Jack, is asking why the church doesn't care about liberty as much as the non-believer unsaved community.
00:16:07.000 How dark is that?
00:16:09.000 I was just on, I won't mention his program, I don't know if it matters or not, but you know who I'm talking about.
00:16:13.000 I was just on his program.
00:16:15.000 He's not of our faith, but he's a man of faith.
00:16:17.000 He said, where are the Christians?
00:16:20.000 My people won't vote.
00:16:21.000 My people won't vote.
00:16:22.000 We need you Christians to keep this country free.
00:16:25.000 Where are you guys?
00:16:26.000 And Charlie, I gave them the data from the George Barna poll.
00:16:31.000 How close Biden won in 2020, but if the Christians would have turned down, it would have crushed all those swing states.
00:16:38.000 Crushed it.
00:16:38.000 It would have been remarkable.
00:16:40.000 So, listen, don't bury your light.
00:16:43.000 Don't put it under a basket, Christian.
00:16:44.000 Forget about what your pastor...
00:16:45.000 If your pastor's not speaking out on it, that doesn't leave you off the hook.
00:16:49.000 Go do the right thing.
00:16:50.000 Register and go vote.
00:16:52.000 You can even do it the same day.
00:16:53.000 But vote.
00:16:54.000 Vote life.
00:16:56.000 Vote...
00:16:56.000 Israel, vote border.
00:16:58.000 Yes, and that is to vote Trump.
00:17:00.000 Again, as Calvin Robinson said, I didn't say this, Jesus is not on the ballot, but Jezebel is.
00:17:06.000 That's Calvin Robinson's words.
00:17:08.000 Jack Kibbs.
00:17:10.000 You could give an attribution where it's due.
00:17:12.000 If you've got a problem with it, go after him on Twitter.
00:17:15.000 Thank you, Jack.
00:17:16.000 I appreciate it.
00:17:16.000 I love you, brother.
00:17:17.000 Take care.
00:17:18.000 You're the best.
00:17:18.000 God bless you.
00:17:21.000 Joining us now is Father Frank Pavone, who is a pro-life warrior.
00:17:25.000 Father, great to see you again.
00:17:27.000 Hey Charlie, good to be with you.
00:17:28.000 Thanks for having me.
00:17:29.000 So what do you have to say about Christians that are staying at home and not voting because they say Donald Trump is insufficiently Christian for them?
00:17:39.000 Well, they're not being Christian enough to understand.
00:17:42.000 I was with the president yesterday with about 1,500 faith leaders and pastors, and it was amazing, Charlie, because there we were in a church chanting and crying out, Jesus is Lord, and applauding for Jesus Christ as the only one to whom we give.
00:17:56.000 Our absolute loyalty.
00:17:57.000 The only one we believe is the Savior.
00:17:59.000 And then we were chanting and clapping just as hard for President Donald J. Trump, who was there among us.
00:18:05.000 Now, how does a Christian look at that?
00:18:06.000 You know, we're applauding just as hard for both.
00:18:08.000 We understand as Christians that only Jesus is Savior.
00:18:12.000 Donald Trump isn't the Savior.
00:18:13.000 Donald Trump knows that.
00:18:14.000 No political party is our salvation.
00:18:16.000 And yet we realize that following Christ means we take his word, we're infused with his spirit, and that enables us to evaluate What's going on in the landscape of American politics?
00:18:27.000 It enables us to understand which candidates, which policies, which parties best advance the kingdom of God, best protect Christian truth and values, and then we work like crazy to make sure those candidates win.
00:18:41.000 Not because, necessarily, they are living our faith, but because they're going to protect our right to live our faith.
00:18:49.000 And that's what the people were about yesterday in that gathering, and that's what I think represents Christian voters around the country and the proper view of a Christian analysis of politics and candidates.
00:19:00.000 So what has changed?
00:19:02.000 Why is it so hard for us to be able to convey that to our fellow believers and people that think that Kamala Harris is a better fit for their values?
00:19:10.000 What's going on here?
00:19:12.000 You know, Charlie, a lot of the pastors have failed.
00:19:14.000 I've been leading this pro-life effort with Priests for Life.
00:19:17.000 For 31 years, and we have constantly run into one after another brick wall with pastors who are just, they talk about process.
00:19:27.000 If they talk about elections at all, they talk about process, but they never get to substance.
00:19:32.000 They never get to pointing out, for example, how the Democrats have a sustained and systematic attack.
00:19:39.000 Now, unless the pastors point that out, unless they can show believers the difference between candidates who are following the Word of God and those who are trying to nullify it, the people are going to be lulled into this position, as you're just saying here now, where they're incapable of seeing the difference.
00:19:57.000 And this is where, and this was a big theme yesterday too, but it's a big theme of my ministry, is awaken these pastors to...
00:20:06.000 Have the freedom and the courage to speak about this.
00:20:08.000 So that's one of the reasons the church, I think, in many ways, it's worse than ever before on the part of a lot of these pastors.
00:20:15.000 And frankly, it's because a lot of them have Democrat loyalties that are keeping them from speaking up to their congregations as they should.
00:20:23.000 Yeah, and Father, it seems as if that the lack of moral clarity from the church is one of the reasons we're in the mess that we are in.
00:20:31.000 Catholics, however, I have to say this, Catholics have been far better this election cycle than evangelicals.
00:20:38.000 And I have to say this, when it comes to moral clarity, we just had Jack Hibbs on, who's terrific, but locally here in Phoenix...
00:20:45.000 The diocese is speaking out against Prop 139 and yet the biggest evangelical church here in Phoenix, CCV, is silent on 139.
00:20:54.000 Father, can you educate our audience on these extreme ballot measures across the country and the need to speak out against them and what they would include?
00:21:04.000 You know them quite well.
00:21:06.000 Yes, Charlie, thanks for mentioning that.
00:21:08.000 There are 10 states that have ballot measures, which, Charlie, you know, over the last 50, 51 years since Roe v.
00:21:15.000 Wade, although abortion has been such a contentious issue in America, certain consensus points have emerged.
00:21:21.000 We shouldn't have late-term abortion.
00:21:22.000 We should have parental involvement if it's a minor.
00:21:25.000 Certain clinic regulations should be in place, etc., etc.
00:21:29.000 So, There have been consensus points.
00:21:31.000 In 10 states, amendments to the state constitutions are on the ballot right now that would lock those states into the most extreme positions on abortion, that is, no limits, no involvement of parents, no need for a doctor, no regulations whatsoever by any government agency.
00:21:49.000 The American people have never bought into any of those positions.
00:21:53.000 And even if people wanted to try to get them to support those positions, Why not introduce a bill?
00:21:59.000 The reason they're not introducing a bill, but rather trying to amend the Constitution, is that the other side is afraid of the debate.
00:22:06.000 Because every time we really have a debate, really look at what abortion is, then these points, again, of consensus emerge.
00:22:14.000 So the states we're talking about that our listeners really need to know and be active on, and this is summarized at a special site we've set up, stateballotmeasures.org.
00:22:23.000 Are Arizona, as you mentioned, Prop 139, also Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, and New York, and South Dakota.
00:22:35.000 Ten states.
00:22:36.000 Now, the amendments are worded differently in each of those ten, but they all accomplish the same thing.
00:22:41.000 Radical, unlimited abortion that would have terrible consequences, including forcing taxpayers to pay for abortion.
00:22:48.000 Again, something the American people have never supported.
00:22:50.000 Are you ready to lose weight but not sure where to start?
00:22:54.000 I understand.
00:22:55.000 I was right where you are two years ago.

00:24:00.000 Dr.
00:24:00.000 Ashley Lucas, great American.
00:24:01.000 Check it out, myphdweightloss.com.
00:24:05.000 Let's just kind of comment on this.
00:24:07.000 How are Catholics viewing this election currently, Father?
00:24:10.000 Can you give us a state-by-state analysis?
00:24:12.000 Because Catholics could determine the future of this election.
00:24:16.000 Catholics could determine the future.
00:24:18.000 Now, we just had an interesting development within the Catholic community.
00:24:21.000 Archbishop Vigano, who's been a controversial figure, he used to be the Pope's representative in the United States and has had a falling out with the Pope because he believes that The Pope and others in the church aren't being as strong, especially on these political matters, as they could be.
00:24:38.000 And he has actually come out and endorsed President Trump because many in the Catholic community, we see the statistics now that the Catholics are tending towards President Trump in this particular election because they see the difference between policy and principle.
00:24:54.000 This, I think, is what's coming through this year more than ever.
00:24:57.000 As I go around, I'm sure you've had a similar experience, As I go around and do voter trainings and whatnot, I've never heard more of our fellow citizens say, I've come to the conclusion this is just a battle between good and evil.
00:25:08.000 And so we have Catholics sensing the very same thing, principle rather than policy.
00:25:14.000 It's not just a question of, you know, How do we best protect the lives of the people in our communities?
00:25:19.000 It's come down to a question of whether we should protect them at all.
00:25:23.000 And now how do we advance freedom?
00:25:25.000 But the question becomes whether we believe in freedom in the first place.
00:25:29.000 So these differences on the level of principle have caused Catholics to begin to wake up to a certain extent We have, of course, a lot of the swing states where there's a significant Catholic population.
00:25:44.000 You see Pennsylvania, for example, Michigan, Wisconsin.
00:25:48.000 You've got a lot of Catholics who are having a big influence in these states.
00:25:54.000 I see a mixed picture when it comes to the priests.
00:25:59.000 They have a lot of material available to them.
00:26:02.000 And to the extent that they do preach on that, Some of the documents that the bishops have issued have been very good, but again, some of them are somewhat vague and again, more focused on process than on policy.
00:26:16.000 But yes, there's a certain awakening that, you know what, there's a spiritual battle here that we quite haven't felt the same before.
00:26:23.000 And I think, Charlie, as we've seen across the population, a lot of this also has to do with how children are being treated.
00:26:29.000 It has to do with concerns about education because Catholics are very invested in education.
00:26:34.000 Our school system is vast across the country.
00:26:37.000 And when we see drag queens and when we see indoctrination in transgender, you know, Catholic parents do wake up about that.
00:26:44.000 And I think we're seeing that in some of the polling now.
00:26:47.000 So, Father, more and more Catholics are waking up to that, and I'm glad to see it.
00:26:52.000 But the radical nature of the Kamala Harris agenda is against some of the core tenets of the Catholic faith, or against the core tenets of what we as Christians believe in.
00:27:04.000 And we must speak out and we must be bold.
00:27:06.000 Have you been encouraged by a new generation of priests that are starting to be more vocal on these issues?
00:27:13.000 The newer priests tend to be more vocal.
00:27:15.000 A lot of them found their vocations under the teachings of St.
00:27:21.000 John Paul II, whom I was privileged to know and work with.
00:27:24.000 I worked at the Vatican for a while under his pontificate, and he really inspired a whole generation of new priests.
00:27:31.000 We call them the John Paul II priests.
00:27:33.000 And yes, I am encouraged by that.
00:27:36.000 I've always pointed out, as we've done clergy education, it's one thing to know the teachings of the church.
00:27:41.000 It's a totally different skill set to know how to engage in the battle, a cultural battle, where these principles and teachings are under direct attack.
00:27:49.000 So...
00:27:50.000 We see in the clergy, again, it's very much of a mixed bag, but younger clergy are, you know, a lot of them have grown up praying outside abortion clinics.
00:28:00.000 You know, their parents brought them into the battle at a very young age, and so they're then able to translate that into the pulpit.
00:28:08.000 And I think just like we see, you know, I see a parallel, Charlie, between the thirst of people in the civic arena for politicians who speak clearly, you know, don't use word salads like Kamala Harris and are able to say, like President Trump, say what they mean and you feel it and they talk the way you talk around your kitchen table.
00:28:30.000 They want to see that in the church too.
00:28:32.000 They don't want to hear somebody preaching at a pulpit for 15 minutes and then you come away saying, well, I don't know really what they just said.
00:28:39.000 And this vagueness, that doesn't help in the church.
00:28:42.000 And they don't want to see the cowardice either.
00:28:43.000 They want to see courage from the pulpit.
00:28:45.000 And that's the distinguishing factor.
00:28:47.000 Not that these younger priests believe any more or less in the teachings, but it's that cowardice.
00:28:52.000 Spark of courage that when people see that coming across and the clarity with which they speak that they see coming across, that is really what's making the difference.
00:29:03.000 Father, what other issues should we as Christians care about that are not getting the attention or the light right now?
00:29:10.000 Political issues.
00:29:11.000 You know, one of the things that the Trump administration did for us who are believers is enabled us to To realize we can speak our mind, something that the president reaffirmed just yesterday.
00:29:24.000 He said, America is better when you religious believers are stronger.
00:29:29.000 And one of the things I think that needs a lot of attention is, you know, when he started campaigning, he was wondering why the pastors weren't actually endorsing him.
00:29:38.000 He saw that they were supporting him.
00:29:40.000 They liked him.
00:29:41.000 So why aren't you endorsing me?
00:29:43.000 And of course, he learned about the Johnson Amendment, which in the tax code says, well, you can't intervene in a political race if you're a nonprofit organization.
00:29:51.000 And of course, churches are mostly organized that way.
00:29:54.000 And so the churches...
00:29:56.000 And it has a chilling effect on what the pastors can say about voting.
00:29:59.000 And he has brought that up ever since.
00:30:02.000 He took executive action not to let churches be discriminated against through that rubric.
00:30:07.000 And then he has said again just yesterday...
00:30:10.000 He said, we're going to get rid of that Johnson Amendment entirely.
00:30:12.000 We need the Congress to just excise it out of the tax code.
00:30:15.000 This is significant because I'm sure a lot of our listeners right now, who, like you said, are working like crazy to get out the vote, are frustrated when their churches aren't speaking up enough about it.
00:30:25.000 And it's like, here's one of the reasons, and he's actually making it a campaign issue, that we will increase the freedom of that pulpit.
00:30:34.000 We will increase the sound of the voices of the clergy and by extension, all of us as believers.
00:30:41.000 And then, of course, you know, it's a Christian position as far as how much freedom do we have from government oppression?
00:30:52.000 You know, think of small businesses, for example, so many Christian families and what President Trump does and has done and will continue to do to slash regulations.
00:31:01.000 I mean, that becomes an issue for believers.
00:31:04.000 It's like my work is sacred.
00:31:07.000 My work is part of the way I worship God, I serve my family, and why should government be encroaching on this day after day?
00:31:14.000 And in fact, you can go down the list of all the different policy issues that he has distinguished himself on.
00:31:19.000 And then look at it from that faith perspective and say, hey, this really matters.
00:31:23.000 And I don't hear these things.
00:31:25.000 I mean, obviously in the churches where they do speak up, we're hearing about religious freedom.
00:31:29.000 We're hearing about life, marriage, family.
00:31:31.000 Okay.
00:31:31.000 But all these other government intrusion issues, regulation issues, these are all just as connected with faith too.
00:31:38.000 And I think the pastors need a little bit more education in this.
00:31:41.000 And all of us need to, as we talk to our fellow citizens, say, hey, those are issues that faith has something to say about as well.
00:31:49.000 In closing here, Father, if the church stays at home and doesn't vote or hands the White House to Kamala Harris, what would that mean for the values that we cherish and for the American church?
00:32:00.000 Please close it up.
00:32:01.000 It means that more and more churches would close.
00:32:05.000 It means that we would face—hey, Charlie, I myself faced and my ministry faced the Obama-Biden— Mandate that we had to include some forms of abortion and health insurance.
00:32:16.000 We fought it all the way up to the Supreme Court.
00:32:18.000 President Trump freed us from that.
00:32:19.000 And we would face more and more that dilemma.
00:32:23.000 Do I follow the law or do I follow my faith?
00:32:26.000 No citizen should be put in that situation.
00:32:29.000 But the other side is does not believe in freedom.
00:32:31.000 They're going to impose on us the duty to cooperate in their abortion, transgender, and government power agenda.
00:32:42.000 And that's what's going to happen.
00:32:44.000 We're going to be paralyzed into, what do I do now?
00:32:46.000 Do I obey Jesus and go to jail?
00:32:50.000 Or can I live my faith in freedom?
00:32:53.000 And there's going to be furthermore, Charlie, the alienation of parents and children.
00:32:57.000 As you know well, we see so many of these policies, and that's exactly the endgame of these people.
00:33:01.000 They want to destroy the family.
00:33:03.000 That's part of grabbing power for themselves.
00:33:07.000 Destroy that relationship between parents and children, and parents are going to be put in impossible situations where all of a sudden the school or other government-backed authorities are taking away their children from them in more ways than one, and they're going to say, how in the world did this happen?
00:33:22.000 And when we ask, how in the world did this happen?
00:33:24.000 It's going to trace back to, oh, I didn't realize what my vote could have prevented in 2024.
00:33:31.000 Look, I say this as an evangelical, on-fire, spirit-believing Christian who loves Catholics.
00:33:36.000 The Catholics are putting us to shame as evangelicals right now.
00:33:39.000 And I say this, I mean, go Catholics, go.
00:33:42.000 Catholics have stepped up.
00:33:43.000 They have sucked it up of all the, you know, let's just say issues they have with Trump, and they're organizing, and they are vocal.
00:33:50.000 And God bless the faithful Catholics, John Yep, and people like you that have really been terrific.
00:33:55.000 So God bless you.
00:33:56.000 I hope more evangelical pastors start to care about the unborn and the country as much as you guys do.
00:34:01.000 Thank you so much, Father.
00:34:02.000 Thanks, Charlie.
00:34:03.000 Onward to victory.
00:34:04.000 Amen.
00:34:05.000 I love that.
00:34:06.000 What are you going to do?

00:34:14.000 She's getting a little bit cocky, a little confident.
00:34:18.000 What are we going to do to save the country?
00:34:21.000 Find a voter.
00:34:22.000 Vote yourself.
