00:01:18.000 Tonight is Joe Biden's State of the Union address.

00:01:24.000 He has been kind of MIA in more ways than one, and he's going to give people the State of the Union, and he'll give the cliche one-liner.

00:01:33.000 And the State of the Union is strong, right?

00:01:35.000 Sure.

00:01:37.000 There's multiple crises on his watch.

00:01:39.000 The border is wide open, double-digit inflation.

00:01:43.000 The economy is not what it is.

00:01:44.000 The market is down big time, not what it was.

00:01:47.000 What it should be, I should say.

00:01:49.000 Obviously, the issue in Ukraine, the Afghanistan withdrawal and debacle, urban and all-crime are up dramatically.

00:01:57.000 Let's go to cut 24.

00:01:59.000 Harris Faulkner highlights his disastrous presidency ahead of his State of the Union address.

00:02:04.000 Play Cut 24.

00:02:05.000 President Biden will give his first State of the Union address tomorrow.

00:02:09.000 And we know that the backdrop is grim.

00:02:11.000 War in Ukraine on his watch.

00:02:14.000 Maybe he could have done more.

00:02:15.000 Maybe he couldn't.

00:02:16.000 It's on his watch.

00:02:18.000 Multiple crises at home on his watch.

00:02:20.000 His own cratering poll numbers.

00:02:23.000 The latest ABC News Washington Post poll shows only 37% of Americans approve of his job performance.

00:02:30.000 It is remarkable how much he has damaged our country in just 13 months.

00:02:35.000 40-year high in inflation.

00:02:38.000 The Afghan withdrawal was a national embarrassment. 1.00

00:02:42.000 2.1 million person illegal invasion.

00:02:44.000 Fentanyl killing Americans at a historic rate.

00:02:48.000 Energy dominance is dead.

00:02:51.000 Importing 600,000 Russian barrels of oil a day.

00:02:55.000 $3.64 a gallon of gas, national average.

00:02:59.000 Surging crime.

00:03:00.000 And we're on day 715 of 15 days to slow the spread.

00:03:03.000 68% of voters say the State of the Union is worse today than it was one year ago.

00:03:08.000 To give you an idea of how bad Biden is doing, his numbers are underwater in Colorado, Nevada, underwater in some of the more blue states in America.

00:03:20.000 There's only like four states or five states, according to Ras Mussen, that he has a positive approval rating.

00:03:26.000 They're like Oregon, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and I think California.

00:03:34.000 The State of the Union is not strong in any way, shape, or form.

00:03:39.000 But don't worry, Joe Biden has now said, hey, now that we can all talk about Ukraine, COVID is over.

00:03:44.000 Okay?

00:03:45.000 It's so funny how we were talking so much about his etheromycin, hydroxychloroquic, and ivermectin, all that stuff.

00:03:50.000 And then overnight, it just ended.

00:03:52.000 And now we're all about war in Ukraine.

00:03:58.000 Let's go to cut 28, where the White House is saying that dropping the mask mandate one day before the State of the Union has nothing to do with the State of the Union.

00:04:09.000 Play Cut 28.

00:04:11.000 Today.

00:04:11.000 Was it important to the president that masks come off before the State of the Union?

00:04:16.000 Is there a message that he hopes to send with that news?

00:04:21.000 Well, I would say the president is very powerful, but he couldn't make us be in the green zone that we're in right now in D.C. That's why we are not required.

00:04:30.000 We're not going to be required to wear masks starting tomorrow's.

00:04:33.000 Yeah, just starting tomorrow.

00:04:35.000 He doesn't want to have to address a nation or address the nation while everyone is wearing masks.

00:04:41.000 Interesting how that works.

00:04:43.000 Biden claims that they've cut black poverty by over 30%, and we've reduced child poverty by more than 50% in the black community.

00:04:52.000 I have no idea where he's reading these numbers off of, but play cut 31.

00:04:57.000 Tax cuts to eliminate, and the estimate is that we've cut black poverty by over 30%.

00:05:05.000 We reduced child poverty by more than 50% in the black community.

00:05:08.000 American Rescue Plan also included historic funding that allows cities and states to invest in community violence intervention programs.

00:05:16.000 So you're getting a little bit of a preview of what tonight is going to be.

00:05:20.000 It really does beg the question, what is the Biden strategy?

00:05:24.000 Does he really think he's doing a good job?

00:05:26.000 I mean, with every one of these crises in front of him?

00:05:31.000 And the answer is very simple and very clear, that it's not about whether or not he thinks he's doing a good job with the metrics of public approval or not.

00:05:39.000 It's whether or not he is going to be the bridge presidency, whether or not he is going to be the person to once and for all abolish fossil fuels, get rid of a bordered society, whether or not he is going to allow the transition from America being a Western country into a globalist project and experiment.

00:06:04.000 It does, in many different ways, remind you of a president that is looking at himself not as what he's actually doing, but how historians will grade him and judge him.

00:06:20.000 Let's play cut 45 about Biden's promises, and let's check in on them ahead of the State of the Union.

00:06:26.000 Play Cut 45.

00:06:27.000 The American Families Plan will finally provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave and medical leave.

00:06:33.000 The paid leave provision of this bill will not be included.

00:06:37.000 Let's extend that child care tax credit at least through the end of 2025.

00:06:42.000 New research from Columbia University shows nearly 4 million more children are now in poverty after child tax credit payments stopped in December.

00:06:51.000 And on Act Police Reform in George Floyd's name that passed the House already.

00:06:56.000 The House passed the George Floyd Justice and Policing Act back in March, but after Scott rejected the Democrats' latest scaled-down proposal Tuesday, that was apparently the end of the road.

00:07:08.000 Another thing.

00:07:09.000 Let's authorize the Violence Against Women Act. 1.00

00:07:11.000 The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act passed the House in March, but has since been stalled in the Senate.

00:07:18.000 One after the other after the other.

00:07:21.000 Now, it's really important we do not lose sight of our domestic issues while all the national media coverage is on Ukraine and on Russia.

00:07:31.000 The trucker convoy is heading towards Washington, D.C. I've told them to stay very peaceful.

00:07:40.000 I said that publicly.

00:07:41.000 I don't have any private conversations really with any of them.

00:07:43.000 And to remain compliant.

00:07:46.000 Now, Joe Biden is going to give a speech tonight in a Capitol Hill that is surrounded with security fencing.

00:07:54.000 Why is it that the U.S. Capitol is surrounded with security fencing, but the U.S. border remains wide open?

00:07:59.000 Play cut 43.

00:08:01.000 Fences and the checkpoints put up after last year's assault on the Capitol.

00:08:05.000 They've been brought back for tonight's State of the Union address.

00:08:08.000 It's all part of a series of safety precautions inside and outside of the Capitol.

00:08:13.000 Survey of 1,532 U.S. adults, which was conducted online from February 24th to the 27th, found that just 41% of them now approve of how Biden is handling his job, a number that has hovered between 38 and 42% since December, while a majority, 53%, disapprove.

00:08:30.000 More than 6 in 10 Americans, meanwhile, say Biden has not kept most of his promises.

00:08:36.000 60% of Americans, 61%, say that Biden has not kept most of his promises.

00:08:43.000 Has he healed the country?

00:08:44.000 Has he unified the country?

00:08:47.000 Has he ended COVID?

00:08:50.000 Whatever that means.

00:08:52.000 More COVID deaths on his watch than under Trump.

00:08:55.000 Build back better.

00:08:56.000 The infrastructure bill is a total scam and a con tonight.

00:09:00.000 He's going to do his best to try to spin all of that.

00:09:05.000 He's going to do his best to try and persuade the population that he's doing just a fine job, but the American people are seeing right through it.

00:09:13.000 He's not even able to execute on the one thing he said he was supposed to be able to, which is keep Vladimir Putin in check.

00:09:19.000 Can't even do that.

00:09:21.000 And the entire expert class, which continually fails us again.

00:09:27.000 Look, I've been using ExpressVPN for about six years now, and it's the VPN that I trust.

00:09:33.000 And here's something that blows my mind.

00:09:34.000 These guys that actually engineered their own VPN protocol called Lightway to keep your data secure without sacrificing speed.

00:09:41.000 That's why I love ExpressVPN.

00:09:43.000 There are no trade-offs.

00:09:45.000 If you don't know what ExpressVPN is, well, it's a virtual private network.

00:09:48.000 That's what a VPN is.

00:09:49.000 ExpressVPN is an app that encrypts 100% of your network data and reroutes it through a secure and encrypted server.

00:09:56.000 This is especially important when you're on public Wi-Fi.

00:09:59.000 Not only can admins see everything you're doing, but hackers connected to that same network can also steal your account logins and financial details.

00:10:06.000 Because they engineered their own VPN protocol, all the other major VPNs use the same off-the-shelf protocol.

00:10:12.000 This level of bespoke technology is exactly what allows ExpressVPN to provide superior speeds and enhanced privacy and protection.

00:10:20.000 It's 2022, and you need a VPN every time you go online.

00:10:24.000 Use the VPN that I trust that I have on my phone right now.

00:10:27.000 It's expressvpn.com/slash Charlie, and you can get three extra months free.

00:10:33.000 That's expsvpn.com/slash Charlie.

00:10:38.000 Expressvpn.com/slash Charlie.

00:10:44.000 Nancy Pelosi says that she's not going to wear a mask at the State of the Union, but she says if I had little children or grandchildren around, I would.

00:10:52.000 Well, hold on a second, Nancy Pelosi.

00:10:54.000 Given the average age of a member of Congress, they're much more at risk of COVID than your children or grandchildren.

00:11:02.000 Play cut 46.

00:11:04.000 No, I'm not going to be wearing a mask tonight.

00:11:06.000 If I had little children or if I were around little grandchildren, I would because some of them would not be vaccinated.

00:11:13.000 Or if I were around a person or were a person with a pre-condition, some kind of a condition that would make me susceptible to it.

00:11:22.000 So if COVID is over and you don't need to have mask mandates anymore, why does Biden still need his emergency powers?

00:11:32.000 Biden should announce tonight all mask and vaccine mandates are over.

00:11:36.000 He should say that emergency powers are no longer needed.

00:11:39.000 This is all that the truckers want.

00:11:42.000 Otherwise, if Biden keeps his emergency powers without having the mask mandate in place, this is about power, not health at all. 0.56

00:11:50.000 Republicans wearing masks and highlight all the Democrat double standards of hypocrisy.

00:11:56.000 Democrats can't have it both ways. 0.84

00:11:59.000 It's power or health.

00:12:01.000 They've got to decide which narrative that they want.

00:12:05.000 So look, we're at a situation right now where the emergency use authorizations for the vaccine, the emergency use authorization for the emergency declaration for mask mandates are ongoing.

00:12:18.000 So let me ask Joe Biden a question.

00:12:20.000 If you don't need to wear a mask mandate for the state of the union, why do you need to wear a mask mandate on an airplane?

00:12:26.000 If you don't need to wear a mask mandate to go hear him spew his nonsense, why do you need to wear a mask mandate to listen to fly across the country?

00:12:39.000 Now it looks like the mask mandates are finally being lifted in California for children in grade schools, but some schools are still pushing them forward.

00:12:48.000 Now some Republicans are deciding not to attend the speech.

00:12:53.000 Marco Rubio, of all people, kind of random, but I love it, is not attending.

00:12:58.000 He says that I am not going to take another COVID-19 test.

00:13:02.000 He said, Marco Rubio says, I don't have time to take a COVID test today.

00:13:06.000 I only take a test if I'm sick.

00:13:08.000 So he's not going to the speech.

00:13:10.000 For the first time in American history, you now have people having to produce papers to go in somewhere, to sit somewhere, to go to the state of the union.

00:13:17.000 You've got to show them I'm vaccinated.

00:13:19.000 I took a test yesterday and they took my temperature.

00:13:21.000 You know, all this stuff.

00:13:22.000 This is what's happening now in America.

00:13:24.000 It's what happens after 20 years of infusing this Marxist thought process into every aspect of our lives.

00:13:30.000 And now they've come face to face with it, Marco Rubio says.

00:13:34.000 Some other Republicans are deciding to boycott the speech tonight, such as Matt Rosendale and others.

00:13:43.000 State of the Union is largely theater, so don't take what is being said too seriously.

00:13:49.000 I don't even know how Joe Biden with Martin Scorsese and all the Hollywood people behind him could possibly spin what is happening right now.

00:13:57.000 Not even President Zelensky would be able to spin what Joe Biden is doing right now into some sort of a positive.

00:14:05.000 Zelensky is basically saying to the world, you know, the positive of being surrounded is you can shoot in any direction.

00:14:10.000 Got to give the Ukrainian government credit.

00:14:12.000 They're the best.

00:14:13.000 They've put on the best production to draw the West into their conflict that I've ever seen.

00:14:20.000 And all of this is happening simultaneously while it says the following.

00:14:28.000 Republican bounces to historic lead on 2022 ballot in New Poll.

00:14:34.000 Republicans, advantage over Democrats is at historic levels.

00:14:40.000 RealClear Politics average shows Biden's approval rating hovering around 40%, but a handful of national surveys released in recent days pegged the number around the 30s.

00:14:50.000 There's a Harvard Harris poll in which some people strongly disapprove.

00:14:53.000 Next up are the Rock Bottoms, Marist, and PR PBS numbers showing Biden at 39% approval.

00:15:00.000 There's the eyebrow-raising ABC News Washington Post data set as well.

00:15:06.000 It's plummeting at every single corner imaginable.

00:15:11.000 Now, what really this comes down to as far as how we're going to fix our problem is the states taking leadership, the states taking responsibility, I should say.

00:15:20.000 The states being leaders in the midst of all of this.

00:15:26.000 Hey, everybody, Charlie Kirk here.

00:15:28.000 You should be concerned about today's headlines.

00:15:31.000 I am too.

00:15:32.000 It's not pretty.

00:15:32.000 So here's the thing.

00:15:33.000 You should rely on yourself, especially when it comes to food.

00:15:37.000 Food shortages will only get worse in the coming months.

00:15:40.000 Do you have emergency food on hand that you can rely on when more empty store shelves appear?

00:15:45.000 If not, I urge you to get the four-week emergency food kit from MyPatriot Supply, the nation's largest emergency food company.

00:15:52.000 And they've served millions of your fellow Americans over the last 15 years.

00:15:56.000 And right now, you save $50 on their four-week emergency food kit.

00:15:59.000 This food stays fresh up to 25 years in proper storage.

00:16:02.000 It will be there when you need it.

00:16:04.000 Go to preparewithkirk.com right now to save $50 per kit.

00:16:07.000 Act now, and your order will ship quickly and arrive discreetly at your door in unmarked boxes in three days or less.

00:16:13.000 That's preparewithkirk.com, preparewithkirk.com.

00:16:17.000 Check it out right now.

00:16:18.000 You are nine meals away from anarchy.

00:16:19.000 Preparewithkirk.com.

00:16:21.000 Act now and your order will ship quickly and arrive discreetly at your door in unmarked boxes in three days or less.

00:16:29.000 Texas.

00:16:31.000 Big state.

00:16:32.000 Texas is very important.

00:16:35.000 Texas, in many ways, is going to determine the future of America.

00:16:39.000 And Texas is still a very free state, thankfully, in more ways than one.

00:16:43.000 And with us right now is the Attorney General of Texas, who's a friend of mine and has a very important primary race tonight or today, I believe.

00:16:53.000 He'll tell us about it.

00:16:54.000 Ken Paxton, Ken, welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show.

00:16:57.000 Hey, this is a little different than the last time I interviewed.

00:17:00.000 I was sitting where you are, and you were in like North Dakota.

00:17:02.000 I was in Fargo or something.

00:17:03.000 That's right.

00:17:04.000 Exactly.

00:17:04.000 It was my home where I was born, actually.

00:17:06.000 That's so funny.

00:17:07.000 So is today your primary?

00:17:09.000 Is that right?

00:17:10.000 Yeah, I literally left the polls to come talk to you, and I'm going back out after I'm done talking to you.

00:17:16.000 Well, I love it.

00:17:16.000 Walk us through the primary situation here in Texas.

00:17:20.000 Is it a potential runoff situation?

00:17:22.000 What's going on?

00:17:24.000 Yeah, so the goal is to get 50% plus one.

00:17:26.000 So that's unfortunately what you have to do.

00:17:28.000 And then if you don't get the 50% plus one and you finish in the top two, then there's a runoff that is scheduled for May 24th, which is kind of a long way away.

00:17:38.000 And a lot of times the voters are disconnected from the first election because it's so separated, but that's just the way it is now in Texas.

00:17:46.000 And I know you have some people running against you, and we're hoping that you get to that 50-plus-1 mark.

00:17:51.000 And people can go to the polls right now in Texas.

00:17:54.000 And so we're going to talk a little bit about that.

00:17:56.000 But so, Ken, I want to ask you first and foremost about what's happening on the southern border.

00:18:00.000 I called what's happening on the southern border an invasion.

00:18:03.000 Attorney General Mark Bernovich agreed with that from Arizona.

00:18:08.000 Do you agree that what's happening on the southern border is an invasion?

00:18:11.000 There's no doubt it's an invasion.

00:18:13.000 It's actually a betrayal of the American people.

00:18:15.000 The federal government is given the responsibility.

00:18:17.000 And we've had, you know, we had a huge case under the Obama administration called United States versus Arizona, where they basically told Arizona they couldn't make their own laws because it was up to the federal government to protect the border.

00:18:29.000 Well, the reality is if they pass laws and they don't enforce them, that leaves the consequences to states like Texas.

00:18:36.000 And actually, I would argue that every state now is a border state because these drugs are being trafficked all over the country and increasing drug overdoses by a significant amount.

00:18:44.000 We've got COVID being spread because of the immigration. 1.00

00:18:47.000 You've got all kinds of crime and all of the problems associated with this really make us all border states.

00:18:52.000 It's just that Texas bears the brunt of that first.

00:18:55.000 So let me ask you, Ken, what is Texas doing to actually fix it themselves?

00:18:59.000 Because we know the federal government is not going to come in.

00:19:02.000 I know you can only do so much from a legal perspective, but at some point, the states have to take control of their own borders.

00:19:10.000 Yeah, and I know the governor's trying to do that.

00:19:12.000 We have nine lawsuits, offensive lawsuits against the Biden administration.

00:19:15.000 So far, we've been successful, as you know.

00:19:18.000 The problem with lawsuits is they don't happen in one day or one week or even one month.

00:19:23.000 They take time.

00:19:24.000 And we've been winning, but then we get appealed.

00:19:26.000 And we're, you know, the Remain in Mexico program is now being appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, even though we won our preliminary injunction against them months ago.

00:19:34.000 So that's part of the problem with what I'm dealing with: it just takes time.

00:19:38.000 The governor has tried to start arresting people along the border for crossing in areas where the border patrol are not.

00:19:46.000 The problem with that is all the cartels know all they have to do is drop these people off with the border patrol agents and they'll be transported around the country.

00:19:53.000 So we have limited access to people crossing the border.

00:19:57.000 And so it's hard for us to step in front of a border agent and try to take them away, which leaves the governor in a difficult spot.

00:20:03.000 He's also tried to arrest.

00:20:05.000 He put out an executive order trying to arrest people that are being transported other than by law enforcement.

00:20:11.000 And we were sued over that by the Biden administration in a pretty liberal court.

00:20:14.000 And the court stopped us from doing it.

00:20:16.000 So we have an injunction against that right now.

00:20:17.000 So we have offensive moves, including trying to build a wall, which obviously will take a lot of money, but we're trying and we're spending billions of our own dollars doing what we can to fight this.

00:20:28.000 Yeah, and it's a matter of sovereignty, right?

00:20:30.000 I know that Texas has now bills coming through to build their own wall and to build their own border patrol because the federal government has completely and totally betrayed the people of Texas in more ways than one.

00:20:42.000 So let me ask you, Ken, also about the pro-life bill.

00:20:47.000 This was kind of another moment of outrage from the left.

00:20:50.000 Talk about the success of the pro-life bill and also some of the work you're doing to defend the unborn.

00:20:57.000 You know what?

00:20:57.000 This is a, I've been working on this issue for 20 years in the House, Texas Senate, and then in the Attorney General's office.

00:21:03.000 This was, I think, our greatest success that we've had in my 20 years.

00:21:07.000 It was challenged all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

00:21:10.000 We went all the way up.

00:21:11.000 And the idea here was instead of putting enforcement in the hands of the Attorney General or some other DA, the enforcement here is in the hands of individual plaintiffs.

00:21:20.000 And so every doctor that performs an abortion now can be sued civilly.

00:21:24.000 And it's basically shut abortions down at least about 60, 70%.

00:21:30.000 And so we're saving about 3,000 babies a day.

00:21:32.000 And the argument is pretty simple.

00:21:34.000 The federal government took us all the way to the Supreme Court and they argued that the Supreme Court should come in and stop state judges from hearing these types of lawsuits.

00:21:44.000 And Gorsuch asked the best question of the day, which I think was the key question.

00:21:49.000 He said, hey, have we ever done this?

00:21:52.000 Has the Supreme Court ever gone into a state and told a judge, all the judges, they couldn't hear certain types of cases?

00:22:00.000 And the Solicitor General of the United States did not want to answer that question.

00:22:02.000 He asked her about four times and he finally said, I've asked this several times.

00:22:06.000 Would you please answer the question?

00:22:08.000 And the answer was no.

00:22:09.000 The Supreme Court has never done that.

00:22:11.000 So even though there may have been judges on a court, I know there are three for sure, but there are others that were looking at overturning our law.

00:22:18.000 They realized to do to provide the remedy that was being asked for was going to open a Pandora's box for all kinds of crazy issues going forward.

00:22:26.000 And so I think we've got a pretty good law here that's going to protect the unborn, I hope, for a very long time.

00:22:31.000 And the success speaks for itself.

00:22:34.000 I mean, as you mentioned, it confirms it saved 17,000 babies and cut abortions by 60%.

00:22:40.000 And so, I mean, that speaks for itself.

00:22:43.000 It's amazing.

00:22:45.000 There's never been any bill like this in America.

00:22:47.000 And I hope that this is a model for the rest of the states that care about protecting the unborn because it's already been in the U.S. Recording Court.

00:22:55.000 And as Justice Keegan said, she seemed a little flustered and a little flabbergasted.

00:23:00.000 She said, I don't know who these geniuses in Texas have bumped this up, but it's basically a genius move.

00:23:07.000 So you said, quote, there is no doubt that gender transition of minors is child abuse under Texas law. 0.62

00:23:14.000 The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services will enforce this ruling and investigate and refer for prosecution of any such abuse.

00:23:20.000 Tell us about this.

00:23:22.000 Yeah, so I had a one of my jobs under the Texas Constitution is to answer questions from legislators, the governor, Lieutenant Governor, opinions.

00:23:30.000 And these are not my personal opinions.

00:23:32.000 I'm literally looking at the law, researching the law, and our team puts these opinions together.

00:23:37.000 I read them all.

00:23:38.000 I look over them.

00:23:38.000 And this opinion was a pretty long opinion citing Texas law.

00:23:43.000 And it's pretty simple.

00:23:44.000 In Texas, it's clear that if you mutilate a child's genitalist, you are committing child abuse.

00:23:54.000 And especially if it's something that sterilizes the child.

00:23:58.000 And, you know, you've seen the studies, we cite the studies.

00:24:00.000 A lot of these children have severe regret down the road.

00:24:04.000 And this ought to be just a decision since it's going to be.

00:24:06.000 life-changing, transforming, and permanent.

00:24:10.000 This is a decision that should be made by the child when they're of the age of majority, which in Texas is 21.

00:24:18.000 Yeah.

00:24:18.000 And so what's the pushback been to that?

00:24:20.000 Or what's the other argument?

00:24:22.000 I don't see, I'm sure the media is losing their mind on that.

00:24:25.000 They are totally losing their mind.

00:24:26.000 Honestly, I don't get the argument.

00:24:29.000 It's hard for me to even grasp why this would even be controversial when you're talking about permanent change.

00:24:35.000 Somehow they're saying we're harming the children, but the reality is this can always be done, but it can't be undone.

00:24:42.000 And so, look, I have kids.

00:24:47.000 When they were 16 or 18 or even 12 or 11, they weren't making the best decisions.

00:24:53.000 They needed guidance.

00:24:54.000 And I don't think we want them having this done when they're at it.

00:24:59.000 They can't make that decision, but I don't think parents should be able to make that decision that ends up permanently changing a child's life forever.

00:25:06.000 Yeah.

00:25:06.000 And with a lot of people regretting it, by the way, once they have that done.

00:25:11.000 And so thank you for your clarity on that.

00:25:14.000 So New York Times says that the Democrats flip to Republicans and political upheaval of border town.

00:25:19.000 This is more of a political question on the day of your primary here.

00:25:22.000 Ken, what's going on at the border towns?

00:25:24.000 It seems as if there's a red wave looming in the once very blue Rio Grande Valley.

00:25:30.000 You know, I don't think anybody on the Democratic side realize when you have policies and you look at the law and ignore it, like the Biden administration has done so faithfully, ignoring the Constitution and federal law, you start damaging people's lives along the border.

00:25:46.000 It doesn't matter what their background is.

00:25:48.000 They're not going to appreciate it.

00:25:49.000 And I think a lot of Democrats, Hispanic Democrats who have traditionally voted Democratic are starting to see the truth of this Democratic party that doesn't have their best interests. 0.76

00:25:59.000 They're more interested in increasing the numbers of illegal immigrants, no matter where they're from, no matter what their background, no matter what their criminal background, no matter what their terrorists. 0.77

00:26:07.000 And they get it and they're starting to get it.

00:26:09.000 And it's starting to change our border towns.

00:26:12.000 It's starting to change our state in a way that no one anticipated.

00:26:15.000 And I think a lot of these voters are turning the tide and they're voting Republican.

00:26:21.000 And more than eight times as many people have already voted in the Republican primary in Star County, Texas, as did in 2020, where Republican primary voter was extremely rare.

00:26:31.000 Among these early voters in 2020, 74% voted in the Democrat primary.

00:26:36.000 23% did not vote in either primary.

00:26:39.000 And still, more people have pulled a Democrat ballot in Star County by a ratio of six to one.

00:26:44.000 But in 2018, this ratio was 895 to 1.

00:26:47.000 13,430 votes in the Democrat primary to 15 votes in the Republican primary.

00:26:52.000 During the last contest of the GOP presidential primary, it was 109 to 1.

00:26:56.000 Now it's 6 to 1.

00:26:58.000 I mean, we're seeing something rather dramatic happen in Texas.

00:27:02.000 Yeah, the numbers speak for themselves.

00:27:04.000 I mean, they're not little changes.

00:27:06.000 This is not little incremental changes.

00:27:08.000 This is a, you know, this is a sea change and it's a big sea change.

00:27:13.000 And honestly, the Democrats have left them behind.

00:27:17.000 And I think the Hispanic voters in Texas are starting to figure that out.

00:27:20.000 And they're starting to turn Republican because they realize we're the ones out fighting to protect them.

00:27:26.000 We're the ones out protecting their jobs.

00:27:27.000 We're the ones out protecting their safety.

00:27:28.000 We're the ones out protecting their children.

00:27:31.000 And they realized that the Biden administration has completely abandoned them and has betrayed them, as we earlier talked about.

00:27:38.000 Talk a little bit, if you can, just in the time we remaining.

00:27:40.000 Election integrity, big issue on people's mind.

00:27:43.000 Oh my gosh, we have so much to deal with, even in Texas.

00:27:46.000 We had a court of criminals appeals decision that struck down.

00:27:49.000 This was in December, right after their filing deal.

00:27:52.000 And so we only have one member that has an opponent, unfortunately.

00:27:54.000 Court of Criminal Appeals is our top court for criminal matters.

00:27:57.000 They struck down a statute from 1951 that allowed the attorney general to prosecute voter fraud.

00:28:02.000 We're going to have to find a way to overcome that, or we will be quickly become a Democratic state.

00:28:06.000 It was a pretty genius move done by eight Republican judges out of nine.

00:28:10.000 And I'm trying to call the fire alarm here because we're going to have to fix this very quickly or we're going to start losing November.

00:28:18.000 Yeah, geez, no kidding.

00:28:22.000 The three-week rule may be the best financial advice ever.

00:28:25.000 What's the three-week rule?

00:28:26.000 Wait three weeks to buy that new car, three weeks to refile your home mortgage, and three weeks to finance any major purchase.

00:28:32.000 Why three weeks?

00:28:33.000 Because that's how fast the average Scoremaster user takes to boost his or her credit score average of 61 points.

00:28:40.000 And listen, 61 points added to your credit score can save you tens of thousands of dollars on everything we finance.

00:28:46.000 Scoremaster technology was developed by credit data scientists to boost your credit score higher and faster than you thought possible.

00:28:54.000 Scoremaster is so easy, it takes about a minute to get everything started, and you don't have to wait months for the best credit score.

00:28:59.000 Look, a credit score is a game.

00:29:00.000 That's what it is.

00:29:01.000 And for example, I had a credit score that was okay, and I realized it was some confusion with some bill that I did pay and it wasn't communicated.

00:29:09.000 Boom, it gets cleared up like that.

00:29:10.000 So if you're trying to refinance a home or whatever, go to Scoremaster for free and see how many plus points you can add your credit score.

00:29:17.000 Go to scoremaster.com/slash Charlie.

00:29:19.000 That's scoremaster.com/slash Charlie.

00:29:22.000 Scoremaster.com/slash Charlie.

00:29:27.000 Ken, you're in a heated primary right now against George P. Bush.

00:29:32.000 You are the Attorney General of Texas and Louis Gomert.

00:29:35.000 I've known Louis for years.

00:29:36.000 Louis's a nice person.

00:29:37.000 What's going on here?

00:29:38.000 I'm kind of confused.

00:29:39.000 Yeah, I mean, that's the question I get asked more than any other question in the primary because my other two opponents tend to be more liberal.

00:29:46.000 He is a conservative.

00:29:47.000 He got in really late, two and a half months to run a statewide campaign, which made it seem not very serious.

00:29:54.000 And then I had been told by many people that he was brought in to help basically get me in a runoff with one of the other two, particularly Bush, that the Bush people needed because I was going to win outright.

00:30:04.000 I was in the 60s.

00:30:06.000 And so he was designed to kind of be a spoiler.

00:30:09.000 And you can tell by his campaign spending, one of his very first spends was a $65,000 truck for a two-month campaign.

00:30:18.000 And when I saw that, I knew, like, if I'm running for office, I'm not spending money on a truck for myself, calling it a campaign expense for a two-month campaign.

00:30:26.000 I'm going to spend every dollar I can communicate with voters about what I think is the right message for Texas and the right message for the country.

00:30:34.000 Yeah, it's just strange.

00:30:35.000 I think highly of Louis, so I don't really know what's going on there.

00:30:38.000 But I know that we need a strong conservative attorney general, and that's why you're on our show right now.

00:30:42.000 So I want to ask you about oil and gas, oil and natural gas.

00:30:46.000 Talk a little about how the federal government has made it harder to expand oil and natural gas exploration, Keystone XL pipeline, huge part of Texas economy.

00:30:56.000 Yeah, incredibly frustrating.

00:30:57.000 We were energy independent.

00:30:58.000 We became energy independent under Trump.

00:31:00.000 Texas was providing a lot of oil and gas.

00:31:03.000 It was fueling our economy.

00:31:05.000 We were exporting it.

00:31:07.000 And now we're back to energy dependence on the Saudis and other people that may not, other countries that may not be our friends. 0.96

00:31:14.000 The Biden administration immediately shut down the Keystone Pipeline, which was another way for us to be energy independent.

00:31:20.000 We lost lots of jobs.

00:31:21.000 They claimed it was for environmental reasons.

00:31:23.000 We know that's not true because now they transport it by rail, which is less environmentally friendly than transporting it by pipelines.

00:31:30.000 And then, of course, he opened up the Russian pipeline to Germany, which Trump had kept shut down.

00:31:36.000 So it's all the policies, all these regulations.

00:31:38.000 We just filed a lawsuit yesterday on emissions that 14 states are joining us on.

00:31:43.000 But it's all of these regulations designed to make it harder for America to be energy independent and to have basically the independence and people to have a reliable source of energy.

00:31:54.000 And I can tell you this, Texas can provide that and so can other states.

00:31:57.000 And the Biden administration doesn't want that.

00:31:59.000 They want this renewable energy that doesn't work yet and puts us in a very bad spot with our enemies.

00:32:06.000 So talk a little bit about what the posture you think Texas needs to continue to take, because it seems like it's an opportunity and a time for Texas to say, this is what we want, and we're not going to allow the federal government to get in our way.

00:32:19.000 Yeah, look, this is the whole reason I'm running a third term.

00:32:22.000 I wasn't necessarily thinking, I didn't think Biden was going to win.

00:32:24.000 So I didn't know for sure if Bob was going to run.

00:32:26.000 I have these big tech issues that are not done.

00:32:28.000 And I also have the Biden issue that is clearly not done.

00:32:31.000 And our posture is very simple.

00:32:34.000 If as president, you're going to run the country by edict and you're not going to follow federal law that's passed by one branch of government that you're supposed to implement, then Texas as a state, and I think many Republican states with us, are going to oppose you at every turn.

00:32:48.000 That's why we have, you know, I think over 30 lawsuits now in about a little over a year with the Biden administration as he's about to give his state of union.

00:32:56.000 You know, we're on lawsuit number 30 or 31.

00:32:58.000 And it's because we cannot sit by idly, even if like we happen to agree with one of these policies, which we don't, because they're all designed to hurt the American people.

00:33:08.000 We're not going to let it happen because we can't, because we can't give an exception.

00:33:12.000 Because if we give an exception, then the Constitution becomes less meaningful and less protective of the people of this country.

00:33:19.000 It's well said.

00:33:20.000 Well, Ken, best of luck today.

00:33:21.000 Everyone in Texas, get behind Ken, and we'll be tracking it from here.

00:33:25.000 So thanks so much.
