00:00:03.000 My name is Charlie Kirk.
00:00:05.000 I run the largest pro American student organization in the country fighting for the future of our republic.
00:00:11.000 My call is to fight evil and to proclaim truth.
00:00:14.000 If the most important thing for you is just feeling good, you're going to end up miserable.
00:00:19.000 But if the most important thing is doing good, you will end up purposeful.
00:00:24.000 College is a scam, everybody.
00:00:26.000 You got to stop sending your kids to college.
00:00:27.000 You should get married as young as possible and have as many kids as possible.
00:00:31.000 Go start a turning point USA college chapter, go start a turning point USA high school chapter.
00:00:35.000 Go find out how your church can get involved.
00:00:37.000 Sign up and become an activist.
00:00:38.000 I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade.
00:00:41.000 Most important decision I ever made in my life.
00:00:43.000 And I encourage you to do the same.
00:00:45.000 Here I am.
00:00:46.000 Lord, use me.
00:00:48.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:00:49.000 Here we go.

00:01:17.000 It is Good Friday, and it is a solemn day of remembrance of what our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, did for us and for all of you.
00:01:29.000 And we're going to take time to remember that starting now.
00:01:33.000 Welcome, Blake.
00:01:34.000 Howdy.
00:01:35.000 So, what is Good Friday exactly?
00:01:38.000 It is, like I said, it's a solemn observance of Jesus' suffering, his trial, his crucifixion, his sacrificial death, his atoning death on the cross for our sins.
00:01:52.000 We believe as Christians that today is the day that Jesus took our sin upon him.
00:02:00.000 Though he lived a perfect life and lived without sin, that he took our sins upon himself and paid for those the ultimate sacrifice of his life.
00:02:11.000 And that culminated with the crucifixion.
00:02:14.000 And so we want to take some time to remember this and to remember what Charlie said about his faith in Jesus Christ.
00:02:22.000 Good Friday.
00:02:23.000 Because it is probably, besides Easter, the most important day on the Christian calendar.
00:02:30.000 I think so.
00:02:30.000 I mean, yeah, I would go for that.
00:02:32.000 But obviously, you don't get Easter without Good Friday.
00:02:35.000 And I was praying about this and thinking about what I wanted to do and what I wanted to say.
00:02:42.000 Especially everything that we've lived through.
00:02:44.000 This is obviously our first Easter season without Charlie.
00:02:48.000 And I think of him still the first thing I think about in the morning is Charlie.
00:02:53.000 And the last thing I think about before I go to bed is usually Charlie.
00:02:56.000 And I think a lot of you out there probably feel the same way I do.
00:03:00.000 And we still live in the shadow of our great friend who is a martyr, a Christian martyr.
00:03:07.000 And his example is powerful and it looms large over my life.
00:03:11.000 And so we want to give this day to the Lord.
00:03:15.000 And I want to read a verse from Isaiah 53.
00:03:18.000 And when I think about what Good Friday means to me, this is what Good Friday is.
00:03:23.000 And I think, especially everything that happened to Charlie, I think that he embodies so much of the Christian ethic and the life well lived.
00:03:32.000 So, Isaiah 53, written before the time of Jesus on this earth, and yet it points directly to him.
00:03:39.000 Who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
00:03:45.000 He grew up before him like a tender shoot and like a root out of dry ground.
00:03:51.000 He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
00:03:57.000 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering and familiar with pain.
00:04:04.000 Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
00:04:10.000 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
00:04:20.000 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities.
00:04:25.000 The punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
00:04:33.000 And that is essentially the core of the Christian message.
00:04:37.000 Good Friday.
00:04:38.000 And we don't say good in a celebratory sense.
00:04:41.000 We say good in sort of the old English sense, pious, holy.
00:04:45.000 It is a day to solemnly reflect on the sacrifices our Savior has made.
00:04:50.000 Yeah, I actually had it open for mine.
00:04:52.000 It was slightly different wording because we use a different translation of the Bible, but they do read that in Catholic services on Good Friday every year.
00:05:00.000 Basically, the whole of that that keeps going.
00:05:03.000 You might remember.
00:05:07.000 Though he was harshly treated, he submitted and opened not his mouth.
00:05:10.000 Like a lamb led to the slaughter or a sheep before the shearers, he was silent and opened not his mouth.
00:05:16.000 Oppressed and condemned, he was taken away.
00:05:18.000 And who would have thought any more of his destiny when he was cut off from the land of the living and smitten for the sin of his people?
00:05:25.000 A grave was assigned him among the wicked and a burial place with evildoers, though he had done no wrong nor spoken any falsehood.
00:05:33.000 And it continues from there.
00:05:37.000 We have other special readings that we do.
00:05:39.000 Usually, you don't have a verse that you read.
00:05:42.000 In a usual Catholic service, it's first reading, psalm, second reading, gospel.
00:05:46.000 But they also incorporate a special verse just before they read the gospel, which is on Good Friday, it's always the Passion according to John.
00:05:54.000 And they say, Christ became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
00:05:59.000 Because of this, God greatly exalted on him and bestowed on him the name which is above every other name.
00:06:06.000 That's from Philippians.
00:06:10.000 Hi, folks.
00:06:11.000 Andrew Colvett here.

00:07:09.000 Well, and it wouldn't be the Charlie Kirk Show without Charlie reflecting on.
00:07:15.000 Easter.
00:07:16.000 The team pulled this clip.
00:07:17.000 It's at two.
00:07:18.000 I love Easter.
00:07:21.000 I love the resurrection.
00:07:23.000 And also, just so everyone's clear, they say, oh, Easter is pagan.
00:07:26.000 Hold on a second.
00:07:27.000 The term Easter was a pagan term that was redeemed.
00:07:32.000 But no, Easter itself is actually always aligning with the Jewish Passover, Pescha, which is happening this week as well, those two things are always overlaid with one another.
00:07:45.000 And the resurrection and the promise of Jesus, honestly, can be best described as a fresh start, as a reset.
00:07:51.000 It's a beautiful idea.
00:07:53.000 And it's a truism that has captivated billions of people throughout time.
00:07:58.000 It is really an amazing part about Easter, the Easter season, how it overlays with the Passover.
00:08:04.000 Because obviously the Passover comes from the Genesis story of the Jews putting.
00:08:08.000 Exodus story.
00:08:09.000 Exodus, I'm sorry.
00:08:10.000 The Exodus story, where the Jews put the blood of a lamb over their doors so that the angel of death would pass over their house.
00:08:17.000 And.
00:08:18.000 Jesus is our Passover lamb.
00:08:21.000 And so it is the perfect embodiment of that story.
00:08:26.000 And I love how scripture tends to echo, right?
00:08:30.000 We see different themes and ideas that are once told in the Old Testament.
00:08:35.000 You see them reflected or embodied perfectly in the life of Jesus.
00:08:39.000 One of my favorite images of the that comes out of Good Friday and what it represents is from a church in modern day Istanbul.
00:08:48.000 It's called the Korah Church.
00:08:49.000 Throw up that image I sent you guys.
00:08:51.000 And It's an image of what we believe Jesus was doing during the harrowing of hell, we call it, which is he dies, he resurrects a few days later.
00:09:01.000 And what he is doing is he descended into hell.
00:09:05.000 And what he did is that is what the redemption of Christ means.
00:09:10.000 What that image is is that is Jesus bursting open the coffins that hold Adam on one side and Eve on the other.
00:09:16.000 That's Adam and Eve, that they have been separated from God for untold generations.
00:09:23.000 Because of their sin, and that Jesus is bursting them out and he is liberating them so that they can be taken up to heaven with him, that he can redeem them for paradise.
00:09:34.000 And it's one of the most powerful images you can have of what Jesus was accomplishing.
00:09:39.000 Beautiful.
00:09:40.000 There is another clip of Charlie with you, so I got to play it.
00:09:43.000 Sop 3.
00:09:44.000 All right.
00:09:44.000 Have a great Easter weekend.
00:09:45.000 Thank you, Blake, very much.
00:09:48.000 Remember, he is risen.
00:09:49.000 Please observe Good Friday and understand the significance of the suffering of our Lord.
00:09:56.000 And I am not Catholic, but I will be doing the Stations of the Cross tonight.
00:10:00.000 They have an outdoor Stations of the Cross in Arizona, actually.
00:10:02.000 It's pretty, it was really neat.
00:10:03.000 It kind of probably looks a little bit like Judea.
00:10:07.000 Yeah, exactly.
00:10:08.000 God bless everybody.
00:10:09.000 Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful Easter.
00:10:12.000 That's the perfect, like, sort of ecumenical clip of Charlie, the evangelical, doing the Catholic Stations of the Cross, signing off with Shabbat Shalom.
00:10:20.000 He had his very special way of approaching faith matters.
00:10:23.000 And Blake, you inspired me because you said the Catholics read.
00:10:28.000 From John, the crucifixion story from John.
00:10:30.000 So I figured we should do that.
00:10:32.000 This is from John 19, verse 17.
00:10:34.000 And he says, And he, bearing his cross, went out to a place called the place of the skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha, where they crucified him and two others with him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.
00:10:48.000 Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross, and the writing was Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.
00:10:55.000 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
00:11:02.000 Therefore, The chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write the king of the Jews, but he said, I am the king of the Jews.
00:11:09.000 Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
00:11:12.000 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic.
00:11:20.000 Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece.
00:11:24.000 They said, Therefore among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, of whose it shall be, that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.
00:11:35.000 Therefore, the soldiers did these things.
00:11:39.000 And then Jesus, it's an ode to Mary, which I wanted to keep in here.
00:11:45.000 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother and his mother's sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
00:11:52.000 When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing by, he said to his mother, Woman, behold your son.
00:11:59.000 Then he said to the disciple, Behold your mother.
00:12:02.000 And from that hour, that disciple took her into his own home.
00:12:08.000 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst.
00:12:15.000 Now, a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there, and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
00:12:23.000 So, when Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, It is finished.
00:12:29.000 And bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.
00:12:34.000 Powerful moment to reflect on on Good Friday, and we think it's important to read directly from Scripture because God said it best.
00:12:45.000 Listen, if faith and values are important to you, they should be a part of how you date.
00:12:50.000 It's that simple, not something you figure out later when you're like three, four months down the road in a relationship.
00:12:56.000 You see, most dating apps are built around casual connection, instant gratification, no long term vision.
00:13:01.000 And that's just not what many of you are looking for.
00:13:04.000 Thank goodness.
00:13:05.000 That's why I like Upward.
00:13:07.000 It's a dating app designed around faith and shared values.
00:13:10.000 People who care about commitment, integrity, marriage, and family, the things that we really value on this show, you're starting from Common ground instead of trying to negotiate your core beliefs months into a relationship.
00:13:21.000 That kind of clarity matters.
00:13:23.000 If faith is central to your life, or even if it's something that shaped how you were raised and how you see the world, Upward connects you with people who take that seriously.
00:13:31.000 So if you're tired of the confusion and ready to date with intention, with marriage and family in mind, download Upward and start building on that right foundation because strong relationships start with shared values.
00:13:43.000 Download the Upward app today.
00:13:48.000 I do want to reflect, though, a little bit on what it is finished.
00:13:51.000 And I saw this great clip that I wanted to share with all of you guys on the different meanings of what this means.
00:13:56.000 This is from Josh Howarton, Sot 1.
00:13:59.000 When Jesus was on the cross, he cried out, It is finished.
00:14:02.000 That's how it gets translated in English.
00:14:03.000 But that was just a translation of the Greek word, to telestai.
00:14:07.000 It was a word that was used in a business context on ancient receipts in the New Testament Bible times to indicate that a literal debt had been paid in full.
00:14:15.000 It was also used in a judicial context in a court when a sentence was fully served.
00:14:21.000 Completely and fully, once and for all, served.
00:14:23.000 The word to tell a stai was also used in a military context, meaning that a battle had been won.
00:14:29.000 It was a word of like triumph and victory.
00:14:31.000 When Jesus hangs on the cross and he cries out, to tell a stai, it is finished, he was declaring, the debt of your sin is fully paid, the judgment for your sin has been fully served, and the spiritual war against death, sin, and Satan has been completely won in Christ.
00:14:49.000 The work of salvation, victory, reconciliation, and a new life is fully yours.
00:14:54.000 It is finished.
00:14:57.000 Amen.
00:14:58.000 Also, as Jesus said, that he had come to fulfill the law.
00:15:02.000 It kind of means that as well.
00:15:04.000 It is fulfilled.
00:15:06.000 Yeah, absolutely.
00:15:08.000 I love that the Catholics read from John.
00:15:12.000 There are many interesting parts about it.
00:15:13.000 One of the most interesting to me is when you do readings in church, all of the gospel readings are done by the priest, exclusively by the priest.
00:15:25.000 And the one exception is during the Passion readings, where they actually will have the audience take part of it.
00:15:32.000 And you're taking the part of the mob, of the crowd, which goes in the story.
00:15:37.000 So when they say, the one that's really memorable, I can't remember if this is in, let me see, do they have it in John or is it only in.
00:15:51.000 Okay, the memorable one, when they say, take him away, they cried out.
00:15:54.000 He says, behold your king.
00:15:56.000 And then they cry out.
00:15:57.000 And this is the audience in the service will say this.
00:15:59.000 Take him away, take him away, crucify him.
00:16:02.000 Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your king?
00:16:05.000 And the chief priest answered, and then this is everyone says, We have no king but Caesar.
00:16:10.000 And this audience that says that very much drives home our collective sin, our collective guilt.
00:16:19.000 It's our sin that held him there on that cross.
00:16:21.000 He was crushed for our iniquity.
00:16:23.000 He was punished for our iniquities, crushed for our sins.
00:16:26.000 It personalizes it in a really powerful way.
00:16:29.000 Yeah, I love that.
00:16:31.000 And I love so much of the ancient liturgy and the rituals.
00:16:36.000 This is the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:16:37.000 He loved talking about these things.
00:16:39.000 Let's go ahead and play more of Charlie in his own words, reflecting on his faith sought for.
00:16:45.000 The modern gospel is God has this beautiful, amazing, wonderful life for you.
00:16:50.000 And if you give your life to Christ, your life will infinitely improve.
00:16:53.000 That is somewhat true, but it's very misleading because you're basically trying to sell people in Christianity of a life without difficulty, where the better way to teach the gospel is here's the Ten Commandments.
00:17:06.000 How many of these are you violating?
00:17:07.000 Oh, you deserve to go to hell.
00:17:09.000 And you probably will, unless you give your life to Christ.
00:17:11.000 That is the proper way to evangelize.
00:17:13.000 And so I realized the stakes in fifth grade.
00:17:15.000 I was like, oh my goodness, I'm a sinner.
00:17:16.000 I'm selfish.
00:17:17.000 I'm broken.
00:17:18.000 And only thanks to Jesus' perfect sacrifice, coming and living a perfect life, that I get something I do not earn, but has been given to me this free gift of eternal life.
00:17:30.000 So good.
00:17:31.000 So good.
00:17:31.000 Good job, team.
00:17:32.000 We've got all these tweets of Charlie's, too.
00:17:36.000 He says, this is from April 18th, 2025.
00:17:39.000 He says, today is Good Friday.
00:17:41.000 Thank you, Jesus, for your amazing and unthinkable sacrifice.
00:17:44.000 You died so that we would have life and life in abundance.
00:17:48.000 And then he quotes scripture from Mark 15.
00:17:50.000 It was nine in the morning when they crucified him.
00:17:53.000 The written notice of the charge against him read, The King of the Jews.
00:17:56.000 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.
00:17:58.000 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
00:18:02.000 And when the centurion who stood there in front of Jesus saw how he died, he said, Surely this man was the Son of God.
00:18:11.000 We've got more if we want to read.
00:18:12.000 You want to read the next one, Blake?
00:18:14.000 This one's very long, so I don't think we can complete it, but I would encourage you guys to search it on X.
00:18:18.000 It's from April 20th of last year.
00:18:21.000 So Charlie's last Easter with us.
00:18:24.000 And he said, Today we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, a real event of history.
00:18:29.000 He is risen, and he lists 10 historical facts to back the resurrection of Christ.
00:18:35.000 The first of them is just that he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
00:18:38.000 I love to mention to people this is a name that is in the creed that most Christians will recite.
00:18:43.000 He was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
00:18:45.000 This is a statement of historical fact that this was a real person who was involved in it.
