00:00:03.000 My name is Charlie Kirk.
00:00:05.000 I run the largest pro-American student organization in the country fighting for the future of our republic.
00:00:11.000 My call is to fight evil and to proclaim truth.
00:00:14.000 If the most important thing for you is just feeling good, you're going to end up miserable.
00:00:19.000 But if the most important thing is doing good, you'll end up purposeful.
00:00:24.000 College is a scam, everybody.
00:00:26.000 You got to stop sending your kids to college.
00:00:27.000 You should get married as young as possible and have as many kids as possible.
00:00:31.000 Go start a Turning Point USA college chapter.
00:00:33.000 Go start a Turning Point USA High School chapter.
00:00:35.000 Go find out how your church can get involved.
00:00:37.000 Sign up and become an activist.
00:00:39.000 I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade.
00:00:41.000 Most important decision I ever made in my life.
00:00:43.000 And I encourage you to do the same.
00:00:45.000 Here I am, Lord Museman.
00:00:48.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:00:49.000 Here we go.
00:00:56.000 The Charlie Kirk Show is proudly sponsored by Preserve Gold, the leading gold and silver experts and the only precious metals company I recommend to my family, friends, and viewers.
00:01:09.000 All right, welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:11.000 Hour two is underway.
00:01:13.000 I'm still in DC after last night's State of the Union.
00:01:16.000 Blake's holding it down at the studio in Phoenix.
00:01:19.000 Thank you for doing that, Blake.
00:01:21.000 I'm very excited about this next segment, and it's with two great Americans.
00:01:26.000 Their names are Chase and Sarah Gibson.
00:01:29.000 They are owners of Grooveberry's Froyo Shop in Idaho, and they have quite the story to tell.
00:01:37.000 They have attempted in their way to honor Charlie, and it has not been a straight line of a story, but they are great patriots, and we wanted to honor them.
00:01:46.000 When I found out about the story, I, you know, I tweeted about it.
00:01:49.000 I tried to let people know so they could support this business.
00:01:52.000 But I want to hear about it from them themselves.
00:01:54.000 Chase and Sarah, welcome to the show.
00:01:56.000 Wow, it's an honor to have you.
00:01:58.000 Thank you.
00:01:59.000 Thank you so much for having us.
00:02:00.000 It's an honor to be on.
00:02:01.000 Yeah, thank you guys.
00:02:03.000 Such an honor.
00:02:04.000 It's so cool.
00:02:04.000 So we appreciate it so much.
00:02:06.000 Wow, God bless you.
00:02:07.000 Thank you guys.
00:02:08.000 And so why don't you tell us the story?
00:02:10.000 What happened?
00:02:11.000 Because you attempted to honor Charlie and you've been met with good and bad.
00:02:15.000 So tell us the story.
00:02:16.000 Yeah, so a couple days after his assassination, you know, my husband Chase and I, we prayed, what can we do to carry on Charlie's legacy?
00:02:26.000 And, you know, the idea popped, you know, here's the cops right here.
00:02:29.000 We printed a memoriam sticker with his birth and death year and his name.
00:02:35.000 I printed 200 of them because I just thought, okay, it'll be a day of thing.
00:02:40.000 Just a single remembrance for him, you know, and it took off way more than what we were thinking.
00:02:46.000 All into God.
00:02:48.000 Charlie was just such an amazing guy.
00:02:50.000 He was so, so good at pulling biblical scripture and for biblical truth within his dialogue and debates.
00:02:57.000 And it was something I really, really truly looked up to him for.
00:03:01.000 So it was just such a simple thing for us to do to show our support for him and his family and his remembrance.
00:03:07.000 Absolutely.
00:03:08.000 So how many did you end up printing?
00:03:12.000 Or are you still printing them?
00:03:14.000 Yeah, we're still printing them.
00:03:16.000 There's been how many, I mean, you would bet we're over 60,000, 80,000 cups with stickers on them.
00:03:24.000 Just to support.
00:03:28.000 I didn't have enough room in my shop to follow the yogurt, to be honest.
00:03:32.000 I had to make multiple trips actually out to our suppliers just to make sure I had enough to keep going, which thank goodness for our powerhouse tailor machines back here.
00:03:42.000 They just, they didn't stop.
00:03:44.000 It was, it was amazing.
00:03:47.000 I just love having you guys on the show because it sort of feels, Blake, like our version of what President Trump was trying to do last night at the State of the Union.
00:03:55.000 It did very well, by the way.
00:03:57.000 But telling real stories of real Americans out there.
00:04:01.000 You know, you did get some pushback, though.
00:04:01.000 Yeah.
00:04:04.000 So tell us about that.
00:04:06.000 So death threats, menacing messages.
00:04:10.000 Tell us.
00:04:11.000 So that first day that we put him out, we actually had him in person.
00:04:11.000 Exactly.
00:04:11.000 Yeah.
00:04:15.000 You know, somebody kind of shoved me up against my countertop.
00:04:19.000 We had to get the police involved.
00:04:21.000 And then from there, it's been shoved against a countertop.
00:04:27.000 Yes, not physically with her hands, but backed me up, I should say, into my countertop.
00:04:34.000 Wouldn't leave our store, even though she said we were the ones that were making her feel uncomfortable.
00:04:40.000 It was a whole thing.
00:04:41.000 Yeah, she was too uncomfortable.
00:04:43.000 We've asked her, you know, you can leave.
00:04:46.000 Like, it's okay.
00:04:46.000 It's like, I'm too uncomfortable to get up out of my seat.
00:04:49.000 And so we're like, well, we'll have the police come get you, no problem.
00:04:52.000 You know, so there was that.
00:04:55.000 And then, yeah, just from there, lots of hate comments.
00:05:00.000 We have received death threats via mail, handwritten mail, via our social medias.
00:05:06.000 Yeah.
00:05:07.000 That was one that was interesting to me because I was just like going to the mailbox and, you know, didn't really assume much.
00:05:13.000 Get there.
00:05:14.000 Most of it's good mail.
00:05:15.000 You know, I would say 90% of our information we're getting from people is positive.
00:05:21.000 10% is pretty brutal.
00:05:23.000 But that comes from me who's not really on social media and I've never experienced it.
00:05:26.000 So it's a tell-telling situation to be in, I think, to see different opinions being pushed against us in a sense.
00:05:38.000 So, but that one was a handwritten note that was, I was colorblind.
00:05:43.000 I'm colorblind.
00:05:44.000 I thought it was red.
00:05:45.000 So it was a little more crazy to me than my wife said it was.
00:05:49.000 Yeah.
00:05:50.000 Basically, just in general, the whole experience has been lots of great and then mixed in with just, I would say the support has been way overshadowed.
00:05:59.000 Absolutely.
00:06:00.000 Yeah.
00:06:00.000 The hate, though.
00:06:01.000 Good.
00:06:03.000 Good.
00:06:03.000 Blake, I want to get you in here.
00:06:05.000 No, it all sounds remarkable.
00:06:08.000 I guess.
00:06:08.000 Yeah.
00:06:09.000 We're glad that the support overshadows the hate for sure.
00:06:12.000 But handwritten letters.
00:06:15.000 Do you get the sense?
00:06:16.000 Is this cranks in the community?
00:06:18.000 Or was there enough attention, you think, online?
00:06:20.000 Do you think you're getting it from all over the country at least?
00:06:23.000 I guess I'd feel better if it was a lunatic in Massachusetts sending this to you.
00:06:28.000 Well, we just recently had one like that too.
00:06:30.000 Yeah, I mean, we're still getting messages from all over the country.
00:06:34.000 Initially, Fox News had picked up on us.
00:06:38.000 And so it kind of, we were getting messages from actually all over the world.
00:06:42.000 Everywhere.
00:06:43.000 And I mean, just to highlight how much support we were getting too, I mean, there was people calling in with their credit card numbers asking how can they help pay it forward.
00:06:52.000 Or, you know, we had coined the blueberry budget.
00:06:56.000 I'm sure you remember Gigi's blueberry budget.
00:06:59.000 And we donated, yeah, from the day we started up until Charlie's birthday, we donated 25% of our Charlie Kirk related sales directly to Erica Kirk for the blueberry budget.
00:07:12.000 And then now going forward, we've been donating 5% to our local turning point chapters and Club America chapters.
00:07:19.000 Yep.
00:07:19.000 And we just had the turning point chapter for Northern Idaho College here yesterday using our space just to watch the state of the unit address.
00:07:28.000 So it's very cool to be able to support these groups.
00:07:33.000 And I think Club of America is a pretty big one that we're really getting super stoked to help out with.
00:07:40.000 Yeah.
00:07:40.000 Well, I just want to highlight for the folks at home, you know, you guys did this because you are strong Christians that believe that you are called to spread the gospel in whatever realm that you're in.
00:07:53.000 You have a grooveberry froyo shop in Cordelaine, Idaho.
00:07:56.000 So, you're spreading the gospel there and you're standing up.
00:07:59.000 You have worship nights at your shop.
00:08:01.000 You're supporting Club America, Turning Point.
00:08:05.000 We got about a minute remaining, guys.
00:08:07.000 I want to just first say, please support them.
00:08:10.000 If you're in that area of the woods, neck of the woods, please go buy Grooveberries Froyo shop.
00:08:14.000 If you're driving through, maybe you're going to live in Seattle and you're driving to go ski in Montana or something, drive through, stop by Grooveberries.
00:08:21.000 Please support them.
00:08:22.000 These are great patriots, Salty Earth people.
00:08:25.000 Just tell us, you know, in the last minute that we have here, you know, what does it mean for you and what Charlie's legacy was?
00:08:32.000 President Trump highlighted his, that there's a revival going on with young people after Charlie's assassination.
00:08:38.000 Tell us about the faith impact and why that's important to you.
00:08:41.000 One minute.
00:08:42.000 Honestly, it is the number one most important.
00:08:45.000 And that's exactly what Charlie, that's exactly what Charlie stood for was God first, his devotion and love for Jesus Christ.
00:08:52.000 And he didn't care the persecution that is expected to come with it.
00:08:56.000 And we are all expected to stand up in his place now.
00:08:59.000 He was our voice and now we're his.
00:09:00.000 Yep.
00:09:01.000 And Charlie just did such a great job at making a point that his relationship with Jesus comes first.
00:09:06.000 And I have started to really try and make my point in life and every day to read my Bible.
00:09:11.000 And I encourage every single person to get in there.
00:09:14.000 There's nothing but positivity and goodness that comes from learning the word of God.
00:09:19.000 Yep.
00:09:20.000 Well, I mean, God bless you guys.
00:09:21.000 You guys are such rock stars.
00:09:23.000 We just love you guys.
00:09:25.000 We have your back.
00:09:26.000 Thank you for having our back.
00:09:28.000 And yeah, just God bless you and God bless Grooveberries.
00:09:31.000 Keep up the great work.
00:09:32.000 Thank you.
00:09:33.000 Thank you so much.
00:09:34.000 God bless you guys.
00:09:35.000 Thanks for coming on.
00:09:36.000 Those were amazing, amazing people.
00:09:39.000 I'm still rock.
00:09:40.000 I want them at one of our events.
00:09:43.000 Those people ruled.
00:09:44.000 Yeah.
00:09:44.000 We got to reach out to them and invite them to something because that is what makes America a great place.
00:09:51.000 Christians that are cool, that have courage, that are down to do the right thing.
00:09:56.000 And I just pray that they are richly, richly blessed.
00:09:59.000 I pray that they end up becoming like the biggest Froyo franchise in the country.
00:10:04.000 So help do that.
00:10:04.000 I mean, honestly, I'm going to go like buy some gift cards from them online and I'll probably never be able to use them.
00:10:10.000 Maybe I will, but I don't care.
00:10:12.000 So that's what I'm going to do.
00:10:16.000 If you knew Charlie Kirk, you knew this.
00:10:19.000 He was a connector.
00:10:20.000 Charlie believed in finding good people and connecting them with other good people that he cared about.
00:10:24.000 When someone truly took care of him, Charlie would never hesitate to recommend them.
00:10:28.000 Andrew Del Rey and Todd of Aiken were two of those people.
00:10:31.000 They personally helped Charlie and Erica with their mortgage needs, and Charlie trusted them completely.
00:10:36.000 Whether it was a home buyer trying to qualify or someone needing to consolidate debt or see if they could get a lower rate in payments, these were the guys Charlie sent people to.
00:10:45.000 And right now, timing matters.
00:10:47.000 The market has shifted and rates have come down.
00:10:49.000 There's more inventory, bidding wars have cooled, and buyers finally have more control.
00:10:54.000 But that window won't stay open forever.
00:10:56.000 As rates come down, competition will return.
00:10:59.000 That's why being prepared now is so important.
00:11:01.000 Andrew and Todd at Union Home Mortgage bring over 40 years of combined experience and guide you through the process clearly.
00:11:07.000 No pressure, no guesswork.
00:11:09.000 These are the people Charlie trusted, and they're the people you can count on.
00:11:12.000 Reach out today to get approved for mortgage financing with Andrew and Todd at andrewandtodd.com or call Triple 888 1172.
00:11:20.000 With 40 years of experience, they really are the experts and they make it easy because they keep everything in-house.
00:11:26.000 Call 888-888-1172 or go to AndrewandTodd.com.
00:11:30.000 That is AndrewandTodd.com.
00:11:34.000 We have to talk about this road in Texas, Blake.
00:11:37.000 Why don't you fill our audience in on it?
00:11:40.000 All right.
00:11:41.000 Well, so obviously there are a lot of proposals around the country to honor Charlie in various ways because of his accomplishments and, of course, his martyrdom.
00:11:54.000 We have one here in Arizona where we're hoping to name the 202 loop that goes right around this area after him.
00:12:00.000 But one of the proposals was in Texas.
00:12:04.000 It's Bastrup County.
00:12:05.000 This is just outside of Austin.
00:12:08.000 And they had a proposal to designate FM 969, which is about a 29-mile stretch of highway going from the town of Bastrup to the Austin area.
00:12:19.000 And they're going to call it the Charlie Kirk Corridor.
00:12:22.000 And this is a Republican county.
00:12:24.000 I know Austin is liberal, but this is a conservative-leaning county.
00:12:28.000 But apparently, dozens of people showed up to a county commission meeting on Monday and were against the proposal.
00:12:35.000 And as a result, they folded immediately.
00:12:39.000 Oh, a few dozen people are mad.
00:12:41.000 Drop the proposal.
00:12:43.000 They put the meeting, they put the vote on hold, and we don't know if it'll ever happen.
00:12:47.000 And I don't think Charlie would be very happy at that level of spine, I must say.
00:12:54.000 Yeah, this is an amazing, I would say, microcosm of the problem that Charlie had with the GOP, the traditional GOP, the pre-Trump GOP.
00:13:03.000 They were spineless.
00:13:04.000 They had no guts.
00:13:05.000 This guy basically put it forward.
00:13:07.000 Sure, I will thank him for putting it forward.
00:13:10.000 But then he gets a little bit of pushback, a modicum of pushback, and he folds like a cheap suit.
00:13:17.000 That is unacceptable to me.
00:13:19.000 I would have preferred had he never even put the motion up in the first place than to be cowed by a couple dozen activists that don't want their highway named after Charlie Kirk.
00:13:30.000 It's an absolute insult to the people of Texas, the great state of Texas.
00:13:33.000 To your point, Blake, everything outside of Austin is ruby red.
00:13:37.000 I mean, Dripping Springs is ruby red.
00:13:40.000 This Bastrop County is ruby red.
00:13:42.000 Lake Travis area is ruby red.
00:13:44.000 There are great patriots all around Austin, and it is an amazing community of people that I know for a fact support Charlie Kirk.
00:13:52.000 Chip Roy, who was just on yesterday, represents just south of Austin.
00:13:56.000 This is an absolute insult to Charlie's memory.
00:13:59.000 And to your point, Blake, they're doing this all over the country, and these roads are going to be named in Charlie's honor.
00:14:04.000 He deserves that and so much more.
00:14:07.000 But the fact that the left is so insane right now that they can't celebrate Charlie, who died debating by inviting open debate on college campuses, who didn't, he did nothing wrong.
00:14:21.000 He did everything right, and they've got a problem with it is obscene.
00:14:26.000 And this man should have held the line and he should have fought back and should have pushed back and said, thank you for your comments.
00:14:32.000 I'm ignoring them.
00:14:33.000 We're moving forward with it anyways.
00:14:34.000 Instead, he's saying, oh, I'm going to take this motion off.
00:14:36.000 I'm not going to bring it back up.
00:14:38.000 We're going to take a breather and I'm going to talk with my constituents.
00:14:41.000 And he's not planning on bringing it back up.
00:14:43.000 Again, I say to him, you are a coward.
00:14:45.000 I wish you would have never done it in the first place.
00:14:48.000 I wish you would have never brought it up in the first place.
00:14:50.000 If you didn't have the spine to follow through on it, shame on you.
00:14:54.000 You're exactly what Charlie Kirk fought against in the GOP.
00:14:57.000 You read against what it says.
00:14:58.000 It's like some held signs that read no to show their opposition.
00:15:02.000 And then Commissioner David Glass, he's quoted in this article from The Hill, and he just says, I'm going to take a breath and have some more conversations with my constituents after this showed up.
00:15:14.000 And he was the one who originally put it on the voting block.
00:15:18.000 And just, again, if you couldn't anticipate that there would be angry liberals who would turn out to trash Charlie, to trash his legacy, to smear him, and to oppose this.
00:15:28.000 Yeah, why did you even bring this up?
00:15:30.000 If you're going to fold the moment anyone voices the slightest opposition, why are you even in politics?
00:15:38.000 Actually, okay, I take that back.
00:15:38.000 Why?
00:15:40.000 You're a perfect representation of a lot of GOP people in politics.
00:15:44.000 But why are you, it's aggravating in the extreme.
00:15:49.000 But here's the deal.
00:15:51.000 You know, you've got one side that, you know, is basically trying to honor Charlie.
00:15:57.000 This guy's done a poor job.
00:15:58.000 Okay.
00:15:59.000 And then you've got this other side that apparently is so deranged that they can't wrap their mind around honoring Charlie.
00:16:07.000 But they don't have the self-awareness to realize that it's their party that's inflicting the violence.
00:16:12.000 It's their party that has a violence problem.
00:16:14.000 Last night at the State of the Union, President Trump asked everybody to stand up against political violence.
00:16:18.000 They refused to do so.
00:16:20.000 It's appalling, and they are telling themselves this lie.
00:16:24.000 And so this is why this is important, Blake, because when you will not honor Charlie, a victim of political violence, a martyr for American free speech, a Christian martyr, when you won't do that, you are denying that you have a problem of political violence.
00:16:38.000 You're burying your head in the sand and you're not acknowledging it.
00:16:42.000 And they keep telling themselves this lie.
00:16:43.000 This is from CNN from April 2025.
00:16:46.000 This is what they tell themselves: 363.
00:16:48.000 While America's roots are soaked in bloodshed, violence in the country today is mostly from right-wing extremism.
00:16:56.000 From Oklahoma City to Charlottesville to January 6th.
00:17:02.000 There is simply no equivalent on the left.
00:17:05.000 This is what they believe, Blake, and it's appalling.
00:17:08.000 These people are lunatics.
00:17:10.000 There's this insane lie.
00:17:13.000 They're crazy over again.
00:17:14.000 Yeah.
00:17:14.000 Like it's like that Nazi article the other day in The Atlantic, where they're calling you a Nazi because that is their excuse to treat you horribly, to scream at you.
00:17:25.000 And it's all projection from top to bottom.
00:17:27.000 They're the ones who want to censor speech.
00:17:29.000 They're the ones who would try to cancel Charlie's events.
00:17:31.000 They're the ones who would try to scream him off the platform.
00:17:35.000 They're endlessly, they tried to tear him down while he was alive.
00:17:38.000 They tried to tear him down now that he's a martyr.
00:17:40.000 Repulsive creatures.
00:17:42.000 Repulsive.
00:17:45.000 Now, welcoming to the show is Sean Davis, co-founder of the Federalists and CEO.
00:17:49.000 Great man, great American, great patriot.
00:17:51.000 Sean, I'll give you the layup question.
00:17:54.000 Tell me what your thought, what you thought of the president's state of the union last night.
00:17:59.000 I thought it was spectacular.
00:18:01.000 Previously, I thought the best speech he had ever given was the 2020 State of the Union, right before COVID hijacked the country in the election.
00:18:09.000 I was in the room that day, and he blew the roof off the place.
00:18:13.000 I thought this one was even better.
00:18:15.000 The contrast that he was able to draw between who Democrats work for and who Republicans work for, which America they represent.
00:18:22.000 Turns out Democrats don't really represent America at all.
00:18:26.000 I thought it was great.
00:18:27.000 I thought he laid out a roadmap for getting through the next nine months, winning the election.
00:18:32.000 And the question that I now have is: are Republicans in Congress willing to do what they need to do to keep that momentum and follow that roadmap so they don't get blown out in November?
00:18:42.000 And Sean, do you think Republicans in the Senate are going to have that do what is necessary to maintain that momentum?
00:18:50.000 I know you've been commenting on that online.
00:18:52.000 Yeah, Blake, I'm going to take the under on that one.
00:18:55.000 I don't have a whole lot of confidence, but hey, like we've got nine months.
00:18:59.000 It's an eternity in politics.
00:19:01.000 There's no one like Trump who has the ability to bully people, especially people on his own side, to do what needs to get done.
00:19:08.000 But what Republicans have to understand is that was an amazing speech, but Donald Trump's not on the ballot.
00:19:14.000 So they have to give people reasons to vote for them.
00:19:14.000 They are.
00:19:16.000 They can't just rely on Donald Trump to do all their work for them.
00:19:19.000 Amen.
00:19:20.000 I think that is such an important point.
00:19:24.000 You have to give the base reasons to turn out.
00:19:26.000 We talk about this in terms of California.
00:19:28.000 This is an easy example.
00:19:29.000 A lot of people aren't focusing on California.
00:19:31.000 They successfully got enough signatures to get voter ID on the ballot in California.
00:19:37.000 That is going to energize California Republicans to turn out.
00:19:41.000 And that might mean the difference of holding the House and not, even with all the shenanigans in California.
00:19:47.000 So it's so important to give the base what it wants to vote for.
00:19:51.000 You've got to put wins on the board.
00:19:52.000 This is last night, President Trump talking about pass the Save Act.
00:19:56.000 Then I'm going to play Thune's reaction to it this morning and have your reaction.
00:19:59.000 503.
00:20:00.000 And perhaps most importantly, I'm asking you to approve the Save America Act to stop illegal aliens and others who are unpermitted persons from voting in our sacred American elections.
00:20:21.000 And Leader Thun was asked about that this morning on Fox.
00:20:25.000 504.
00:20:26.000 The Democrats even in the chamber last night having to sit there and try and defend allowing non-citizens to vote in American elections.
00:20:32.000 That is a losing proposition for them.
00:20:34.000 So we will get a vote on it.
00:20:36.000 And we are right now in the middle of a government shutdown, so we've got to try and get the government opened up first.
00:20:41.000 But in due time, we will get that up on the floor.
00:20:45.000 We will have a vote on it.
00:20:46.000 We will make sure that the Democrats are on the record.
00:20:49.000 It is a stark contrast between Republicans and Democrats about how they want to handle elections in this country.
00:20:55.000 And this is going to put them, I think, in a very difficult position.
00:20:58.000 If I were running as a Democrat in the midterm elections in November, I wouldn't want to have to defend.
00:20:58.000 It's an issue.
00:21:04.000 All right, Sean, you have been around swamp creatures for a long time.
00:21:07.000 Can you please translate?
00:21:08.000 Yes, classic failure theater.
00:21:11.000 If you listen to what Trump asked for, he said, I want you to pass the Save America Act.
00:21:14.000 I want voter ID.
00:21:15.000 I want citizenship verification.
00:21:17.000 And then if you listen to what John Thune said, he didn't say we're going to pass that.
00:21:21.000 He didn't say we're going to make that happen.
00:21:22.000 He said, we're going to get a vote on it.
00:21:24.000 Well, congratulations.
00:21:26.000 Like, it takes no effort to get a vote on something.
00:21:29.000 One senator in the minority can get a vote on whatever he wants whenever he wants.
00:21:33.000 Getting a vote is not a victory.
00:21:35.000 Getting a vote is failure.
00:21:37.000 And even worse, he is allowing Democrats to block the Save America Act and to block voter ID by doing nothing.
00:21:44.000 He's basically saying the default here is that we don't do anything unless we have 60 votes.
00:21:48.000 We're not going to require Democrats to come and control the floor and actually talk about why they're opposing it.
00:21:53.000 We're just going to let them vote once and block it, and then we're going to move on to other things like permitting reform, whatever, whatever some corporate K-Street lobbyist wants.
00:22:02.000 It is failure theater.
00:22:04.000 It is designed to fail.
00:22:05.000 And he is designing it to fail in a way where he can pat himself on the back and be like, well, I did what I said I was going to do.
00:22:12.000 I gave a vote and we created a contrast.
00:22:14.000 We already have the contrast.
00:22:16.000 What we want is results.
00:22:18.000 Yeah, I noticed as far as failure theater goes, the sort of pre-defeat, pre-defeated lines he was using.
00:22:25.000 He's saying, we'll get them on the record.
00:22:26.000 They'll have to account for their vote in November.
00:22:30.000 But like, the Save Act is not about holding Democrats accountable for their votes.
00:22:33.000 It is about requiring voter ID in an election.
00:22:37.000 It is about taking steps to prevent potential fraud or the easy signing up of dubious votes.
00:22:43.000 And as you say, the whole thing, it's a song and dance you and I know we've heard for decades.
00:22:50.000 It is just the, it's that sort of fake Senate, the fake Congress, where since the default is nothing will pass other than omnibus spending bills, everything else is phony.
00:23:00.000 And that's actually, that's the best argument for getting rid of the filibuster is we should have a Congress that actually does things again.
00:23:07.000 And the only way that will happen is if they can pass votes by a majority vote.
00:23:11.000 Yeah, so I probably disagree on getting rid of the filibuster because I don't think you need to get rid of it.
00:23:16.000 The problem with Republicans in the Senate is they're just lazy.
00:23:20.000 They don't want to do work.
00:23:21.000 They don't want to have to be on the floor every day.
00:23:23.000 They certainly don't want to have to be on the floor Monday through Friday.
00:23:26.000 Like, what are they?
00:23:27.000 Normal people having to work 40 hours a week?
00:23:30.000 That's below them.
00:23:31.000 So, you know, in theory, I understand why some people think the filibuster is the problem here.
00:23:37.000 But it's really not.
00:23:38.000 If they were to pass, nuke the filibuster tomorrow, they might maybe pass one or two bills.
00:23:44.000 And then that's it.
00:23:46.000 I mean, to me, the problem here is not structural.
00:23:48.000 The problem is we have members who are too lazy to do the work.
00:23:54.000 Hi, folks.
00:23:54.000 Andrew Colvett here.
00:23:56.000 I'd like to tell you about my friends over at YReFi.
00:23:59.000 You've probably been hearing me talk about YReFi for some time now.
00:24:02.000 We are all in with these guys.
00:24:04.000 If you or someone you know is struggling with private student loan debt, take my advice and give them a call.

00:24:28.000 We go to campuses all over America and we see student after student who's drowning in private student loan debt.
00:24:34.000 Many of them don't even know how much they owe.
00:24:36.000 WhyReFi can help.
00:24:37.000 Just go to YReFi.com.
00:24:40.000 That's the letter why, then refi.com.
00:24:43.000 And remember, YReFi doesn't care what your credit score is.
00:24:46.000 Just go to whyRefi.com and tell them your friend Andrew sent you.
00:24:52.000 To Blake's point, this is not a political theater vote.
00:24:56.000 This is saying we have a structural issue in our elections that is going to fundamentally impact the election.
00:25:03.000 So we need to do it before the election.
00:25:04.000 We don't need a contrast vote.
00:25:06.000 We don't need a show vote, not a messaging vote.
00:25:08.000 We already know that they're against this.
00:25:10.000 We already know that the Republicans are for it.
00:25:11.000 So be for it and don't be a coward.
00:25:14.000 I genuinely, so yes, Sean, you know this better than I do.
00:25:18.000 I was invited to go to the State of the Union.
00:25:20.000 I was very honored.
00:25:20.000 Andy Ogle's office had me out there.
00:25:22.000 It was great.
00:25:23.000 Loved being there.
00:25:24.000 And they wanted to give me an insider view of the way Capitol Hill works, right?
00:25:29.000 Because I'd never lived in DC.
00:25:30.000 I don't live in D. I'm here right now.
00:25:32.000 I don't know it.
00:25:33.000 But they took me to this Capitol Club restaurant.
00:25:38.000 You probably know it.
00:25:39.000 So I go in there.
00:25:40.000 It's not much to see, but it's like all K-Street lobbyists.
00:25:45.000 It's all these special interests taking, whining and dining.
00:25:49.000 They have to pay all this money to get a membership.
00:25:51.000 And you just go into this place and your skin starts crawling because you can feel the dubious backroom deals getting like hatched right in front of your eyes.
00:26:00.000 And they took me there so that I could see it.
00:26:02.000 I wasn't like partaking.
00:26:03.000 I wasn't like, you know, please.
00:26:05.000 But it creaked me out.
00:26:07.000 And you know this swamp system better than most, Sean.
00:26:11.000 This is what I hear when I hear Jon Thune saying, we're going to get a show vote on this.
00:26:16.000 Yeah, you're exactly right.
00:26:17.000 It was the Capitol Hill Club, I think between C and D Street on 1st Street, Southeast and right across from the Canon Building there.
00:26:25.000 Yeah, yeah, that is where they do their deals.
00:26:27.000 It's where they hang out with each other and have a good time and try to think up all the ways they're going to screw the American public or try to pull the wool over our eyes by not doing what they said.
00:26:35.000 And that's what people are so frustrated with.
00:26:38.000 And I think it's one reason why Trump has been such a breath of fresh air in politics is the guy says he's going to do something and then he does it.
00:26:46.000 Like, what a revolutionary idea in politics to say you're going to do something and then do it.
00:26:52.000 And the thing about midterm elections is they are base elections.
00:26:55.000 You have to give your base a reason to turn out.
00:26:58.000 Yes, Democrats are crazy people who hate America.
00:27:01.000 We get that, but you can't just win on negative vibes against the other side.
00:27:05.000 You have to get your people jacked up on successes that you've pushed through to get them to fight and come to the polls for you.
00:27:12.000 This is, I think, the central message of today's show.
00:27:16.000 It has to be.
00:27:17.000 President Trump got massive positive marks on his speech last night.
00:27:22.000 He laid out the framework and the roadmap for how to win the midterms.
00:27:27.000 Do what he said.
00:27:29.000 Trust Trump on this one.
00:27:31.000 The weird thing is, is you will win elections by winning.
00:27:35.000 And it's the most frustrating thing with what Thune said.
00:27:38.000 It is the pre-defeat.
00:27:39.000 It is the, we'll hold the vote, nothing will change.
00:27:41.000 But well, look at the contrast.
00:27:43.000 No, you will win by delivering wins for the public and having credible promises of future wins.
00:27:49.000 And the best way to have credible promises of future wins is the list of wins you've already lined up.
00:27:55.000 And people are very, very fed up with fakeness.
00:27:59.000 This is why liberals do well.
00:28:00.000 They often, their ideas are horrible, but they often deliver them.
00:28:05.000 Look at Virginia.
00:28:06.000 Sean Davis, CEO of the Federalists, co-founder of the Federalists.
00:28:09.000 I check it every day.
00:28:10.000 You should too.
00:28:11.000 Great, great reporting there at the Federals.
00:28:13.000 Thank you, Sean Davis.
00:28:14.000 God bless you, man.
00:28:15.000 Thank you, guys.
00:28:18.000 We are joined on set here in D.C. by the one and only, Jack Posovic.
00:28:24.000 What's going on?
00:28:25.000 People don't realize that we shop for Blazers together.
00:28:27.000 So, you know, it was one of our trips.
00:28:28.000 They're very similar.
00:28:29.000 One of our trips.
00:28:29.000 They're very similar.
00:28:31.000 Jack, you said something to me that stuck with me.
00:28:33.000 Uh-oh.
00:28:33.000 You said it wasn't just a home run.
00:28:35.000 It was home run derby.
00:28:36.000 It really was.
00:28:37.000 So you are a messenger.
00:28:38.000 You're a messenger.
00:28:39.000 You're a conduit of the base and base energy.
00:28:42.000 How important was that speech?
00:28:44.000 Look, I think when you look at the way that President Trump undertook that speech for pretty much every single section of it, he was taking those issues that are right down the middle.
00:28:55.000 It was, you know, a fastball right down the middle was like pitching during a home run derby.
00:28:59.000 And he set it up.
00:29:00.000 Of course, they orchestrated it this way to create this trap for the Democrats that, you know, I dare you to be against this.
00:29:08.000 I dare you to be against American citizens.
00:29:10.000 I dare you to be against America heroes.
00:29:12.000 Even having Erica there, Erica with Irina Zarutska, which is just, it blew my brains to be with the parents of Arina Zarutzka, to be sitting there.
00:29:22.000 And in fact, Blake and I were in the chat during the speech.
00:29:27.000 We're saying, we're saying, can you tell who Erica is sitting next to?
00:29:30.000 We couldn't, you know, we didn't recognize them.
00:29:32.000 I don't think she knew who they were.
00:29:34.000 Oh, really?
00:29:35.000 That's my, I haven't talked to her about it, but they, you know, I talked to her before, and she was like, I'm going in solo, you know, because it's such limited seeds.
00:29:43.000 Yeah, the seeds.
00:29:43.000 So you don't get like a plus one.
00:29:45.000 And so you go in there and it was kind of like, you know, here's the president's area, but you don't, it's not like they introduced you to the future.
00:29:52.000 I figured that it wasn't done by chance, though.
00:29:54.000 I figured for some reason.
00:29:55.000 Listen, one of Charlie's final things that he messaged so hard on was the murder of Arina Zarutska.
00:30:01.000 Last week.
00:30:02.000 I pulled it up last night, so it was 12.35 Eastern.
00:30:07.000 So just two hours.
00:30:09.000 Literally, just two hours.
00:30:13.000 Yeah, and he believed, he said we have to politicize this because it was a political malady that created it.
00:30:18.000 That, you know, this cashless bail, putting repeat criminals back on the streets to murder innocent Americans.
00:30:23.000 And so, yeah, it was a very fitting position.
00:30:26.000 You think of the logistics, by the way, to get a family like that out of Ukraine and all the people to just be in that room at that.
00:30:34.000 I mean, I can't even imagine because we try to get people together for Amfest, and it's like it's so hard.
00:30:41.000 Yeah, I mean, so the question then becomes, okay, there's been a lot of doomerism.
00:30:45.000 There's been a lot of black pilling.
00:30:47.000 You know, I love Rich Barris like a brother, but he's been very negative on some of the polling that he's seeing.
00:30:54.000 Is this going to be enough?
00:30:55.000 Is this this spark that lights the midterm?
00:30:59.000 It's a big shot in the arm just to see the president up there showing that he showed the 2024 energy again.
00:31:05.000 And when I was with him down in Georgia at that rally, I could see sparks of it.
00:31:08.000 I remember saying that on the show that when you went to Rome just recently.
00:31:12.000 I went to Rome, Georgia.
00:31:13.000 Then he's giving that speech at the steel factory.
00:31:16.000 And I could see, hey, this doesn't seem like 2025 or 2026, Trump.
00:31:21.000 This seems like 2024.
00:31:23.000 You and I were talking about it.
00:31:24.000 I think people underestimate the weight of the world that exists on a president's shoulders constantly, day in, day out, day in, day out.
00:31:33.000 And to then have to turn around and be a showman, which Trump is very good at, but you've been in the White House.
00:31:39.000 You've seen him behind closed doors and the weight that he is under all the time.
00:31:45.000 I think it's, and he's almost 80.
00:31:47.000 Let's just be honest.
00:31:47.000 I mean, he doesn't show signs of it, but I mean, just I think maybe take us into the room.
00:31:53.000 What, I mean, that balancing act he has to do between making these incredibly difficult decisions in Iran or whatever, as well as having to be showman in chief, having to be the lead cheerleader for the first time.
00:32:04.000 This is something that I think everyone needs to understand: is that as much as he enjoys putting on the show, he is the greatest showman.
00:32:10.000 We all saw that last night.
00:32:11.000 There's no question that he takes this all very seriously.
00:32:15.000 And when he meets with victims, like he spent the day with the Angel families, meeting with Irina Zarutka's parents, meeting with Erica, who, you know, and they still talk regularly, that checking in by the way that he does, he takes this very personally, very, honestly, he's a much more emotional guy than I think people give him credit for.
00:32:35.000 Oh, yeah, because he could be doing anything else with his life.
00:32:40.000 And people are trying to kill him on a regular basis.
00:32:44.000 Blake will attest.
00:32:46.000 We did a whole show on this yesterday about that speech with the Angel families.
00:32:52.000 And he said, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here.
00:32:54.000 A lot of people are gunning for me.
00:32:56.000 And you think instantly of Charlie.
00:32:58.000 You think instantly of what just happened at Mar-a-Lago.
00:33:01.000 And you think about the political violence problem on the left.
00:33:03.000 You couldn't even get them to stand up in the gallery for a message against political violence.
00:33:08.000 Blake, I want to bring you in here.
00:33:09.000 I don't, you know, we're on set here, but you realize the weight of the world on President Trump.
00:33:15.000 It's got to be an impossible balancing act.
00:33:17.000 And I don't think we personalize him enough sometimes.
00:33:19.000 Yeah, well, I sometimes think about that.
00:33:22.000 It's got to be one of the most alien experiences in the world for the president that even when he's not president, he's been the most famous person in the world.
00:33:32.000 I think you could safely say for a decade at this point.
00:33:36.000 He's always been holding court.
00:33:37.000 He has endless people who are talking to him, endless people who are trying to influence him, endless people who are trying to flatter him.
00:33:45.000 And it does have, and he is endlessly seeing himself on TV, and he knows there's a lot of people who would want him dead.
00:33:54.000 I truly do wonder what would it be like to be that person.
00:33:58.000 It's got to be one of the most unusual existences that anyone has ever lived in the history of the world.
00:34:04.000 And the fact that he's delivered on as much as he has in the past year, I think we should always be grateful in that context that he could very easily have said, he could have very easily made a call to a Democrat and said, I will go away and retire forever if you guys just leave me $3 billion and stop trying to put me in jail.
00:34:23.000 And he didn't do that.
00:34:24.000 He instead came back to Washington, made them angrier than ever.
