00:01:43.000 This civil trial is just outrageous and it's ongoing.
00:01:47.000 Joining us now is Alina Haba, who's doing a great job of representing and defending President Trump.
00:01:52.000 Alina, thank you for joining the program.
00:01:54.000 What can we expect today and what is the latest?
00:01:57.000 It's hard to keep all of this straight, all these different law fair scenarios.
00:02:02.000 Yeah, law fair is right.
00:02:05.000 What can we expect?
00:02:06.000 An utter disaster, I think, as we have thought would happen.
00:02:10.000 We have a judge that is absolutely in the pocket of the AG Letitia James coordinating lockstep.
00:02:17.000 We're going to deal with it, obviously.
00:02:19.000 Remember, there are appellate divisions for a reason.
00:02:21.000 We have reversed this judge before.
00:02:23.000 We'll do it again.
00:02:25.000 But the truth of the matter is that, you know, this is a person, as you know, Charlie, as we've discussed, you and I, that have ran on getting Trump.
00:02:33.000 She came out and said she was going to go in the Trump organization every day, see what's going on in their business, come out and sue them.
00:02:39.000 And that's what she did.
00:02:41.000 She made good on a campaign promise and she's making sure she gets re-elected.
00:02:45.000 It's really unfortunate, but it's the state of our country against the leading candidate for the GOP.
00:02:50.000 Yeah.
00:02:50.000 And so here's what's important.
00:02:51.000 Can you just talk about how long this has been ongoing, Alina?
00:02:54.000 I mean, I made a joke that I felt as if, you know, it was 110 degrees out in Phoenix when this thing started.
00:03:01.000 I wasn't kidding.
00:03:02.000 This has been going on a year and a half, and he made a decision.
00:03:05.000 And then he tell us about it.
00:03:08.000 Longer than that.
00:03:09.000 Yeah, I've been involved in this for the better of three years.
00:03:12.000 This has been a special proceeding when it wasn't as high profile, where she investigated for multiple years, wasted taxpayer dollars, did an investigation trying to find some little initial, some little bit of evidence that she could bring a case.
00:03:26.000 She couldn't.
00:03:27.000 So then she brought hundreds of pages of a complaint in this case under a 6312 action, which is a consumer fraud action.
00:03:36.000 Long story short, Charlie, it's been years and years and years.
00:03:39.000 It was a special proceeding, then it was a civil complaint.
00:03:42.000 And once the complaint got filed, the judge gave us six months.
00:03:46.000 They had three years, you know, barely any discovery.
00:03:49.000 We were limited to the amount of witnesses we could interview.
00:03:54.000 You know, it's absolutely outrageous, but we're seeing it time and time again.
00:03:57.000 They have as much time as they want to investigate.
00:04:00.000 And then in an election year, they hit you with a complaint.
00:04:02.000 It's no different than what happened in Georgia.
00:04:04.000 It's no different than Stormy Daniels coming in hot six years later.
00:04:08.000 It's no different than what we've seen in absolutely every case.
00:04:11.000 The boxes, everything.
00:04:13.000 It's perfectly time to keep him off the campaign trail.
00:04:16.000 So, yeah, this has been going on for a very long time, very long time.
00:04:19.000 Yeah.
00:04:19.000 And so it's just, and then we have all this EGE Carroll stuff.
00:04:23.000 And it is, it is such a terrible and destructive precedent.
00:04:28.000 Now, can you walk through what the appeal process here?
00:04:31.000 And I know, Alina, you have to be careful, but I imagine this afternoon, we could end up seeing a couple hundred million dollar judgment against Trump.
00:04:40.000 What does the appeal process look like?
00:04:42.000 Yeah.
00:04:43.000 Well, first of all, there's many motions that we're going to file on both cases.
00:04:47.000 100% we will be appealing.
00:04:49.000 We know that.
00:04:50.000 Unfortunately, and I mean, let's just take a step back, Charlie.
00:04:53.000 Think about the fact that you and I know a decision is coming out today at 2 o'clock.
00:04:57.000 What is that?
00:04:58.000 I mean, that's a leak from chambers, and that's disturbing to me beyond.
00:05:02.000 So I'm utterly concerned and worried about our country, frankly, more importantly.
00:05:09.000 You know, the Trump family is strong and resilient.
00:05:11.000 They have a great company.
00:05:12.000 They've done nothing wrong.
00:05:13.000 We'll get through this.
00:05:15.000 We'll file an appeal within 30 days.
00:05:16.000 We'll do our notice.
00:05:17.000 We'll do it on both.
00:05:19.000 But more importantly, I always say they could do this to them.
00:05:23.000 They have the means.
00:05:24.000 They have me going on TV.
00:05:26.000 They have their voices.
00:05:28.000 But what if they do it to you?
00:05:29.000 And that's the critical thing that we need to focus on for Americans.
00:05:33.000 Yeah.
00:05:33.000 And it just, you're right.
00:05:35.000 They keep on fighting.
00:05:36.000 They keep on scrapping.
00:05:37.000 Is there any precedent for dismembering such a large organization based on allegations like this?
00:05:44.000 Any precedent that you're aware of?
00:05:46.000 Never.
00:05:47.000 Never.
00:05:48.000 They don't use 6312 in this way.
00:05:50.000 This is the first time that they're using Section 6312 against a private company to put their nose into something where they've done absolutely nothing wrong.
00:05:59.000 Their statements of financial condition were undervalued.
00:06:01.000 But if you try and say that Mar-a-Lago is worth $18 million, Charlie, then it looks like they're overvalued.
00:06:06.000 And that was all by design.
00:06:08.000 I mean, it's a joke.
00:06:10.000 Everybody in the media, left and right.
00:06:12.000 So I have to ask, but how important is that valuation in the midst of this?
00:06:16.000 Where do they, I know we make fun of it, but I was joking in the last hour.
00:06:19.000 I said, if Mar-a-Lago's for sale for $18 million, I'm going to go call a couple donors because that would be the steal of the century.
00:06:25.000 I mean, it's worth a billion and a half dollars.
00:06:26.000 You and me both.
00:06:27.000 Right, Alina?
00:06:28.000 We'll go partners.
00:06:29.000 We'll go partners on that and make a billion dollars.
00:06:31.000 So that's right.
00:06:33.000 The question I have, though, is, is that really what is the center of this piece that this judge valued Mar-a-Lago at 18?
00:06:40.000 Please help me understand this.
00:06:42.000 Yeah, 100%.
00:06:43.000 So the most was a couple hundred million in liquidity that they needed.
00:06:49.000 There is no question that the Trump organization and the Trump family is worth billions and billions of dollars, but they're bringing a lawsuit based on a VIG of a couple hundred million.
00:06:58.000 Imagine.
00:06:59.000 So let's take Mar-a-Lago, 18 million.
00:07:02.000 Okay, let's say in a crazy world, it sells for a billion.
00:07:06.000 The only property that large, which goes from the ocean to the inner coastal, which is massive and is truly historic.
00:07:13.000 But let's just say it's just a billion.
00:07:15.000 That covers that even in a worst case scenario, which it isn't.
00:07:19.000 So that's really the number.
00:07:21.000 It's preposterous.
00:07:22.000 And when you put it that way, it really makes it clear how insane this all is.
00:07:26.000 Yeah, I just, people might not be quite tracking what we're saying.
00:07:30.000 So if you've ever been to the island of Palm Beach, it is now the most expensive real estate in the country.
00:07:35.000 It's not even close.
00:07:36.000 There are lots that are adjacent next to what is called the Bath and Tennis Club that has been purchased by other billionaires that are like one fraction the size of Mar-a-Lago that are going, that goes for like hundreds of millions of dollars.
00:07:48.000 Literally, like the whole transaction one after the other, Mar-a-Lago is five to six like scale above it.
00:07:56.000 The toilets, the bathrooms at Mar-a-Lag are $18 million.
00:08:00.000 You can't get a shack on the island of Palm Beach.
00:08:02.000 You can't get a shack on the things are going for $2,500, $3,000 a square foot.
00:08:08.000 Not an exaggeration, right?
00:08:10.000 It is funny money.
00:08:12.000 And yet, here's, so Alina, I'm asking this somewhat facetiously.
00:08:18.000 Who got defrauded here?
00:08:20.000 Did the banks not get paid back?
00:08:22.000 Nobody.
00:08:23.000 So who's the victim?
00:08:24.000 There was never a default.
00:08:26.000 There was never a default.
00:08:27.000 Loans were always paid on time.
00:08:29.000 And Deutsche Bank, sophisticated banks, sophisticated insurance agencies were not only paid on time with interest and ahead of time sometimes.
00:08:36.000 They made money.
00:08:38.000 It's a private contract between individuals, but she's putting her nose into it because she had to find something to get Trump on.
00:08:43.000 That was the campaign promise.
00:08:45.000 And look at the coordination, Charlie.
00:08:46.000 Let's not forget that.
00:08:48.000 DAs and AGs across the country are going to Washington and meeting with Biden.
00:08:52.000 We see logs of these AGs and DAs meeting with the Biden administration.
00:08:57.000 What planet are we on?
00:08:59.000 Where it's coordinated by the political opponent for the Democratic Party, Merrick Garland.
00:09:04.000 Same thing.
00:09:05.000 It all trinkles down.
00:09:06.000 And then they appoint special counsels.
00:09:08.000 They're not special counsels.
00:09:09.000 They're not independent counsel.
00:09:10.000 They're 150% people that are coordinating with the Biden administration.
00:09:14.000 And you can't deny that.
00:09:16.000 It is, by the way, I know so many New York business people that are getting out of New York as quickly as possible.
00:09:21.000 I mean, they say, you could take my business from me based on that there are no victims.
00:09:26.000 There are no victims.
00:09:28.000 No victims whatsoever.
00:09:30.000 And I mean, this idea that the Trump family doesn't have assets or wealth, just the name alone is a multi-billion dollar name.
00:09:38.000 We know this to be true.
00:09:39.000 The brand alone.
00:09:40.000 Yes.
00:09:41.000 Right.
00:09:42.000 Imagine if you want to inflate your property and you have a Trump name, the name that got him to be president because he was such a well-known businessman.
00:09:47.000 He was famous before this.
00:09:49.000 So wouldn't you think that the Trump organization would put the brand on the statement of financial condition?
00:09:55.000 Billions and billions of dollars.
00:09:57.000 If you want to defraud companies, I assure you, Charlie, you're not going with Deutsche Bank.
00:10:01.000 You're not going with sophisticated lenders and insurance companies.
00:10:04.000 And you most certainly are adding your brand when your last name's Trump.
00:10:08.000 It's crazy.
00:10:10.000 It is quite something, to be perfectly honest with you, that the first time where someone's going to lose their business empire and there's no victims.
00:10:19.000 They cannot show you a victim.
00:10:22.000 Alina, great work.
00:10:23.000 Thank you for taking time for us today.
00:10:25.000 We'll be watching Bracing for Impact.
00:10:29.000 Thanks so much.
00:10:30.000 Yeah, literally.
00:10:31.000 Thanks, Charlie.

00:11:37.000 Do you know what a Kulak is?
00:11:39.000 Kulak was a Russian peasant.
00:11:41.000 They said that was too wealthy, too prosperous, someone who owned a relatively large farm, several head of cattle and horses.
00:11:50.000 And they had their land taken away from them by the government.
00:11:54.000 You're too rich.
00:11:55.000 You're too prosperous.
00:11:56.000 We're taking all of your land away from you.
00:11:58.000 I'm going to try to personalize this Trump ruling for some of you and connect kulak Soviet history because you might feel that it's in the distance, but imagine if all of a sudden what you own is just taken from you because they don't like your politics.
00:12:14.000 In Russian, kulak means fist or it means grasping.
00:12:22.000 Kulak was someone who was considered to be a dishonest or rural traitor, but it just grew.
00:12:27.000 Anyone who owns land, anyone who employs anybody.
00:12:31.000 What's going on with Donald Trump and Letitia James is to set the precedent for a mass property confiscation campaign coming to America.
00:12:39.000 They're going to use reparations.
00:12:41.000 They're going to use a social credit score.
00:12:43.000 Donald Trump is patient zero.
00:12:45.000 Donald Trump is patient zero.
00:12:47.000 The same way Alex Jones was patient zero for social media coordinated cancellation.
00:12:52.000 Donald Trump is now patient zero for yes, a former president and political persecution, but it's more than that.
00:12:57.000 The New York case is actually deeper than the politics.
00:13:00.000 That is what makes the New York case so dangerous.
00:13:03.000 All the other stuff is so obviously political.
00:13:06.000 The politics is the attack vector so that they can set the precedent so that they could take your car.
00:13:13.000 They could take your farm.
00:13:15.000 They could take your home.
00:13:16.000 They could take your building.
00:13:18.000 If they just say they label you as fraudulent or as the Bolsheviks would call you, a kulak.
00:13:25.000 They said they were doing the people of Russia a service.
00:13:28.000 They claimed you had white privilege or you were racist or whatever slur they want to use on normal conservatives.
00:13:34.000 They label you as a kulak and this justified destroying everything about you.
00:13:40.000 Joining us now is Ben Berkwam, who is live from East Palestine, Ohio.
00:13:45.000 Strangely, Joe Biden is going to be visiting, but there's a counter rally.
00:13:50.000 Ben, tell us what's going on there.
00:13:52.000 Hey, Charlie, yeah, there's we've got the whole street lined up down here in Market Street, just off of Main Street, East Palestine, small town, you know, small community, but they've come out.
00:14:01.000 Joe Biden finally is showing up, finally showing his face in town.
00:14:04.000 And the folks came out to let him know what they think of him and who they really support.
00:14:09.000 It's President Trump.
00:14:09.000 There's a sign you can't see it right now.
00:14:11.000 It's behind a couple of these people, but it just says too little, too late.
00:14:14.000 And that's basically the message to Joe Biden.
00:14:17.000 He's coming in sometime between four and five is what we're expecting.
00:14:20.000 And the folks out here just want to give him a not so warm welcome.
00:14:24.000 Yeah, so Ben, just remind our audience, this was a train derailment.
00:14:28.000 There was environmental toxins.
00:14:30.000 Just walk us through all of what, remind our audience what happened here.
00:14:34.000 And is Joe Biden going to drink the water?
00:14:36.000 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:14:37.000 Let's, I don't know.
00:14:38.000 I don't know if that would help him or hurt him.
00:14:39.000 But yes, just over a year ago, we were here at the year anniversary just a couple weekends ago on February 3rd.
00:14:46.000 And we had one of the largest train derailments and natural man-made disasters, not natural disasters, but disasters in America.
00:14:56.000 They actually made the decision.
00:14:57.000 Norfolk Southern, there's still question about who made that decision.
00:15:00.000 The call to blow up those tankers created a massive mushroom cloud of black toxic smoke and chemicals that ended up going all over this little tiny town and all throughout this area for hundreds of miles.
00:15:15.000 And people are still dealing with the health implications of this.
00:15:18.000 Some people still aren't in their homes.
00:15:20.000 People have been trying to sell their homes.
00:15:21.000 You basically can't sell your home here because who wants to move here now?
00:15:25.000 You've got health concerns for the kids.
00:15:27.000 You've got long-term concerns for the kids in particular.
00:15:30.000 And you've got an EPA that's basically done nothing.
00:15:33.000 They've told Norfolk Southern, which is the rail company that caused the disaster, that it's basically on them.
00:15:39.000 They still have not declared.
00:15:41.000 Joe Biden and Mayor Pete still have not declared a national basically the message that the people of East Palestine want.
00:15:49.000 They want this declared a national disaster.
00:15:51.000 It should have already been declared that.
00:15:53.000 And again, the message is very simple.
00:15:55.000 It's too little, too late.
00:15:56.000 They see this simply as a political move by Joe Biden to finally show up, and they're not buying it.
00:16:01.000 So, yeah, Ben, really quick, just why do you think Joe Biden is visiting?
00:16:05.000 He's drawing attention to this.
00:16:06.000 It's so late.
00:16:07.000 Is this a way to try to just have some sort of presence in the Rust Belt?
00:16:12.000 It's a strange approach, especially a state he's assuredly going to lose as Ohio.
00:16:17.000 Yeah, I can't even answer that for you, honestly.
00:16:20.000 I mean, it'll be interesting to see what he actually says.
00:16:23.000 I don't know if it's a deflection from everything else that's going on.
00:16:26.000 I don't know if he's been pressured by somebody.
00:16:28.000 You know, they've been pressuring him from the beginning.
00:16:30.000 You know, this he should have come out here the month after, the week after, the days after, but to wait an entire year, a year and two weeks, and then to just show up.
00:16:40.000 Honestly, I can't tell you what the purpose is.
00:16:44.000 You know, America's got to be the judge.
00:16:46.000 It doesn't make any sense to me, though.
00:16:48.000 I think it's, I think Sherrod Brown asked him to come as a way to give some cover fire because he's in a very tough Senate reelection race right now in Ohio.
00:16:57.000 I bet Chuck Schumer and Sherrod Brown called in a favor for some cover fire.
00:17:01.000 There, it's the only explanation.
00:17:03.000 Donald Trump's going to win Ohio by eight to 10 points.
00:17:06.000 This seems like a Sherrod Brown bailout package in eastern Ohio.
00:17:11.000 Thank you so much, Ben.
00:17:12.000 Great work.
00:17:13.000 All right.

00:18:03.000 That is Herzogfoundation.com.
00:18:07.000 Joining us now is Congressman Dan Bishop, who is running for North Carolina Attorney General.
00:18:13.000 Congressman, welcome to the program.
00:18:15.000 Share with us the news.
00:18:16.000 Thank you, Charlie.
00:18:17.000 Good to be with you.
00:18:18.000 We had a busy week in Congress.
00:18:20.000 We just finished a markup in the Judiciary Committee yesterday in which we marked up a very important bill that I hope will stick in your mind and that of your viewers, Charlie.
00:18:30.000 It is a bill that last year, last summer, the United States Supreme Court said that state attorneys general could not sue when the Department of Homeland Security, when Secretary Mayorkis adopted rules about detaining or releasing migrants that flatly contradict the law, contradict the Immigration Nationality Act that's passed by Congress.
00:18:51.000 And the Supreme Court said, well, administration has some prosecutorial discretion left, so we can't get in the business of refereeing that.
00:18:59.000 The only thing Congress can do to make sure the law is followed is to do something like impeach Secretary Mayorkis.
00:19:04.000 Well, we've done that.
00:19:06.000 But what we ought to do is do what the Supreme Court invited, and that is for Congress to change the law so that secretaries of state all over the country can seek the court's help in enforcing the law when the Secretary of Homeland Security decides to violate it.
00:19:20.000 Any border deal that may end up at any point in time, and there's a new one suggested by the Rhinos and some Democrats to make sure they get Ukraine funding through.
00:19:31.000 They've got some fig leaf of a deal that they're proposing.
00:19:34.000 But the question that's going to have to be asked in any border deal that might come down the pike or any border legislation is how do we know the Biden administration will actually follow the deal?
00:19:47.000 What is the enforcement mechanism?
00:19:49.000 This bill that we just marked up on the Judiciary Committee would be one way, and all the Democrats oppose it vociferously.
00:19:56.000 If we end up, that's the kind of thing, Charlie, that would be the solid, the test whether or not we have a real deal if provisions like that are included.
00:20:07.000 So there's a lot happening here.
00:20:09.000 First, I just want to make sure to put my mind at ease.
00:20:12.000 You're not going to resign in the midst of this term, right?
00:20:15.000 You'll see out your term because we can't afford any more of this kind of mid-session resignation stuff.
00:20:21.000 Not a chance.
00:20:21.000 Okay, Charlie, I'm going to be fighting tooth and nail the whole way through.
00:20:25.000 And everybody, even those who say, are you leaving to because you've given up?
00:20:29.000 No, I'm maneuvering for a better grip, but I won't do that until I win in November and take office next January in North Carolina.
00:20:36.000 Okay, well, very good.
00:20:37.000 And I know that I think your race is going very, very well.
00:20:40.000 I want to just kind of go through some of these legislative primaries here.
00:20:43.000 There's four major things that are in front of us.
00:20:46.000 And we talked about this very clearly.
00:20:50.000 We have the CR, we have Ukraine, we have the border, and then we have 702.
00:20:55.000 Some of them have some in common.
00:20:57.000 Some are completely different.
00:20:58.000 Let's start with the CR.
00:21:00.000 This is one of the reasons why I was so upset back in the fall, not with you, Congressman, but just with leadership and just the establishment, because we're heading towards a shutdown.
00:21:09.000 We should have just really embraced that back in the fall.
00:21:13.000 Is the government going to shut down?
00:21:15.000 Are we going to get spending cuts?
00:21:16.000 It doesn't, I don't really feel the sense of urgency.
00:21:19.000 We got senators out in Munich.
00:21:21.000 This doesn't feel like the, I think we're going to see another CR.
00:21:26.000 Charlie, I think that's right.
00:21:28.000 It could be worse than that.
00:21:29.000 The speaker may collapse at the end and embrace the old omnibus appropriations bill routine that we've seen over and over again.
00:21:39.000 Actually, at this point, you understand we're a far cry from what we set out to do when we contested the speaker's election a year ago, year and a month ago, where we had a plan for fiscal restraint with specific targets.
00:21:51.000 Kevin McCarthy blew that, frankly, in June of last year.
00:21:54.000 We've never quite recovered it.
00:21:56.000 Speaker Johnson's doing his best to kind of get his feet under him.
00:21:59.000 But at this point in time, a continuing resolution that just kept things where they are for until through the next into the next fiscal year might be the best outcome.
00:22:09.000 The worst thing we can do is see it go below all those caps that were agreed to in the so-called fiscal responsibility act last June, which were too high as they were and go even further.
00:22:20.000 And then add supplementals on top of that.
00:22:22.000 So we're wrestling over that.
00:22:24.000 I think it's a question that goes to the heart of the leadership of Speaker Johnson that he gets something figured out.
00:22:31.000 We had a conference this week, and I wish I could say there's an absolute clear plan on the table.
00:22:37.000 There are lots of people in Washington, lots of Republicans in the Unit Party that want to keep spending and show no restraint at all.
00:22:45.000 Yeah, and it's a narrow majority, and it's only getting narrower, unfortunately, because that's just the way things are working right now.
00:22:55.000 So, one of the elements here that I want to talk about, the Senate is considering this bill.
00:22:59.000 I don't know if you're aware of it, the Kids Online Safety Act, K-O-S-A.
00:23:04.000 And it involves potential attorneys general.
00:23:06.000 That's why I wanted to bring it up to you.
00:23:08.000 And so, essentially, it's a bill that looks to protect underage children from groomers, pornographers, and other predators online.
00:23:14.000 This should pass unanimously, not a problem.
00:23:17.000 But it gets very interesting.
00:23:19.000 The bill ran into trouble because LGBT groups, and we have evidence of this, we have a letter to show this, were worried it would make it too easy for red state AGs to target predators who try and groom children into mutilating themselves or destroying themselves with hormones.
00:23:35.000 So, now they're retooling the bill to give all the power to the FTC.
00:23:39.000 I know you're probably learning about this just right now, but I think it's important.
00:23:43.000 The red state AGs, I think we need a whole new class, a whole new attitude of AGs that love the law, that want justice, but also are going to stand up against the special interests that have done such damage to this country.
00:23:59.000 That's exactly right, Charlie.
00:24:01.000 Even the first thing that I mentioned off the tie at the top of the hit about what we marked up in the Judiciary Committee was about empowering state attorneys general to keep the government honest.
00:24:10.000 And yes, what you've just described, and you do see this, the attorney general role, state attorneys general have emerged over the past 20 years to be defending some of our most important fundamental rights against overreaches by lunatics across all sorts of institutions, but certainly overreaching federal agencies.
00:24:30.000 And so, yes, I'm not surprised because the left sees this.
00:24:35.000 That's one reason they spend disproportionately to try to keep and get as many attorney generals offices as they can.
00:24:43.000 And it's the reason that Republicans like, that's the reason I'm leaving Congress.
00:24:48.000 I believe it's an extraordinary important role to get.
00:24:50.000 And believe me, Charlie, if you know anything about me and you've watched me in Congress, folks know they can count on me to be as aggressive as possible in defending people's rights and restoring respect for and reverence for the law.
00:25:04.000 That's what we'll do.
00:25:04.000 Yes.
00:25:05.000 So I want to ask this about North Carolina here.
00:25:08.000 Your race is very important.
00:25:11.000 I think your primary is going very well.
00:25:13.000 You can update that.
00:25:15.000 Is it?
00:25:16.000 I'm imagining.
00:25:16.000 Actually, even better than that, Charlie, I have no primary.
00:25:20.000 I am the Republican nominee without a primary.
00:25:22.000 So that's a good piece of news.
00:25:24.000 There's a complicated primary on the other side.
00:25:26.000 Yeah, good.
00:25:28.000 Let them fight.
00:25:28.000 But North Carolina is an interesting state.
00:25:30.000 I want to just reflect on this for a second.
00:25:33.000 It has voted for Trump the last couple times, has two Republican senators, has a Democrat governor, and has this research triangle that feels more like Silicon Valley than the deep south.
00:25:50.000 And there's a lot of out-of-staters going to North Carolina.
00:25:53.000 My first question would be, what evidence do we have of how North Carolina has changed, if at all, since 2020?
00:26:01.000 I think the two pieces of evidence that you need to consider beyond those you've mentioned is that we've held the Republicans have held the General Assembly, the legislature for 13 years, usually and currently by supermajorities in both houses.
00:26:17.000 And here's the key, Charlie, 13 straight appellate court judgeships elections won by Republicans statewide.
00:26:25.000 This state is in the position that Florida was in some years ago before Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis transformed it into a Republican stronghold.
00:26:37.000 That opportunity is available here.
00:26:39.000 The mix that you see, you mentioned the leading executive offices, the Attorney General's office, which we've not won since 1896, and the governor's office, which we've only won three times over the last 30, 40 years.
00:26:51.000 But there have been some preeminent Democrats there, but this is a changing state.
00:26:55.000 Marvelous growth in exurban counties like Brunswick and Onslow, for example.
00:27:02.000 This is a state that is begging to become a solid red Republican state.
00:27:07.000 And I think this year is going to be pivotal.
00:27:09.000 Mark Robinson, I think, will be the Republican nominee for governor.
00:27:13.000 And I think he's an important historic figure.
00:27:15.000 He's going to win.
00:27:16.000 And I'm confident I'm going to win the Attorney General's office.
00:27:19.000 Yeah, North Carolina is a really interesting state because the rules are very conservative.
00:27:25.000 The suburbs are center right and are Republican.
00:27:29.000 But you have some real radical pockets in your state.
00:27:32.000 I mean, you've got some real right.
00:27:34.000 I mean, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn.
00:27:37.000 You're not.
00:27:38.000 Duke of North Carolina.
00:27:39.000 I mean, that is as liberal as it gets.
00:27:42.000 One of the Democrats in this race is the DA from Durham County, where Duke University is, and Durham's as liberal as they get, and she's a bona fide Soros type prosecutor.
00:27:53.000 So, yes, indeed, that is true.
00:27:54.000 And it's also true for when I gave the example of Florida.
00:27:57.000 It's true there, too.
00:27:58.000 Those pockets exist.
00:28:00.000 We're hammering it out.
00:28:01.000 And I don't suggest that it's a cakewalk, but one of the things, Charlie, I think that when you have this so-called purple state phenomenon, bold leadership and results change things both ways, frankly.
00:28:17.000 There's never been a more opportune moment for a law and order campaign in North Carolina.
00:28:22.000 That theme is going to hit home with those suburban soccer moms that people always ask about.
00:28:27.000 They're worried for their family's safety, for their own personal safety, and they're worried about institutional corruption that's destroying the civic order in so many ways.
00:28:37.000 And they're going to be ready for a message that says we're going to restore that.
00:28:41.000 And the way you do it is respect for the law, not an idea where you get an attorney general, he gives his ideological position on any number of issues like photo ID and just goes and fights the law constantly.
00:28:54.000 That's a corruption of our constitutional system.
00:28:56.000 And people are ready to see some order restored, some normalcy.
00:28:59.000 You're doing a great job.
00:29:00.000 We're behind you 100%.
00:29:02.000 Did I hear you right?
00:29:02.000 Finally, 1896 is the last time there was a Republican attorneys general?
00:29:06.000 That's right.
00:29:07.000 Almost amazing and surprising, but this is the year, Charlie.
00:29:10.000 Okay.
00:29:12.000 I believe you.
00:29:13.000 It's just, that is shocking.
00:29:14.000 All right.
00:29:15.000 Thanks so much.
00:29:15.000 Appreciate it, Congressman.
00:29:19.000 I want to talk about this Alexei Navalani story.
00:29:23.000 Joe Biden has come out and he said, are you more confident now that you'll get the Ukraine aid given what happened today?
00:29:29.000 He said, I hope to God it helps.
00:29:32.000 Okay.
00:29:32.000 Well, that's a strange answer.
00:29:35.000 I wouldn't try to use the death of somebody for that.
00:29:38.000 But look, the circumstances around his death are awfully not just suspicious.
00:29:46.000 I mean, he was murdered.
00:29:48.000 Yeah, he was going for a walk and he had a blood clot.
00:29:51.000 Like, okay, let's calm down here.
00:29:53.000 Let's first watch Joe Biden.
00:29:54.000 Let's play Cut 162.
00:29:55.000 Are you more confident now that you'll get the Ukraine aid given what's happened today?
00:30:00.000 Well, I hope to God it helps.
00:30:03.000 But I mean, the idea we need anything more to get the Ukraine aid.
00:30:07.000 I mean, this is in light of a former president's statement that saying, Russia, if they haven't paid their dues to us, go get them.
00:30:17.000 Come on.
00:30:18.000 What are these guys doing?
00:30:21.000 What are they doing?
00:30:23.000 This whole thing is very, very confusing to me in the sense, okay, obviously he was murdered.
00:30:28.000 So the conventional wisdom, which is probably true, is that Putin killed him because that's what happens in Russia.
00:30:34.000 Just dissidents get poisoned and they get put into exile.
00:30:37.000 By the way, Navalani was up in like the Arctic and some sort of tundra.
00:30:41.000 And again, Putin himself probably didn't pull the trigger, but he had some, you know, thug do it.
00:30:46.000 But it is something I do want an answer to this.
00:30:49.000 Why would Putin do this?
00:30:51.000 Why would he kill him today?
00:30:52.000 How is that in Putin's best interest?
00:30:54.000 Maybe it's just like, I want this guy off the chessboard.
00:30:57.000 He's a, he's an awful person.
00:31:00.000 That's the only part I'm failing to quite grasp.
00:31:03.000 I don't understand his worldview.
00:31:04.000 I don't understand his approach.
00:31:06.000 Don't understand his way of thinking.
00:31:09.000 So it seems to only embolden and empower the pro-Ukraine forces right now during the Munich Security Conference.
00:31:15.000 So just understand all the different connective dots here.
00:31:18.000 This is during the Munich Security Conference while there's a Ukraine bill about to be voted on in the House and in Congress.
00:31:24.000 Putin has been taking out a lot of enemies lately.
00:31:27.000 Pergosian was just killed a few months ago.
00:31:29.000 Oh, yeah, plane failure.
00:31:30.000 It is not a plane failure.
00:31:31.000 Okay.
00:31:31.000 Putin killed him.
00:31:34.000 So let's just get our facts straight here.
00:31:36.000 And look, I said this on Telegram, and I'm going to just repeat this.
00:31:39.000 And I want to make sure you have to be morally clear on this stuff.
00:31:41.000 You guys know I'm the cheerleader for Ukraine.
00:31:46.000 And some people are saying, oh, Navalani is a CIA asset.
00:31:49.000 Here's what I said.
00:31:49.000 Enough.
00:31:50.000 Okay, that's a stupid argument.
00:31:52.000 It might be right, but it's stupid.
00:31:54.000 Without the pandering that so many people are doing, I think it's important to recognize Navalani as a true courageous person.
00:32:00.000 I don't care if he was a CIA asset or whatever, not relevant.
00:32:03.000 A country shouldn't imprison and kill dissidents, period.
00:32:06.000 It's wrong when Garland and Biden do it.
00:32:09.000 It's wrong when Putin does it.
00:32:10.000 Navalani kept pushing towards what he felt was right, despite knowing it could result in his death.
00:32:15.000 Whatever flaws he might have, I think that is admirable and worthy of praise.
00:32:20.000 I think that's 100% consistent.
00:32:23.000 It's just, it is very, I will say this, it's monumental timing.
00:32:29.000 I'm not going to say curious timing because I think every piece of evidence we have, both prior and current, is that probably this was a Putin operation.
00:32:38.000 Why he did this, awfully perplexing.
00:32:42.000 Not sure.
00:32:43.000 I always ask the question, koi bono, who benefits?
00:32:47.000 By who benefits doing this, right?
00:32:49.000 Who benefits by killing Navalani?
00:32:52.000 Maybe Putin just wants to send a final message that FAFO, man, he's just, and maybe some of the previous poisoning attempts could have weakened his constitution and he was weakened and it's random.
00:33:05.000 Maybe, but I mean, I just, I, come on, don't.
00:33:10.000 I don't want to go too far down that road.
00:33:12.000 But here's the facts.
00:33:13.000 The facts of the matter is this.
00:33:15.000 I admire Navalani.
00:33:16.000 The guy knew that he was probably going to get killed.
00:33:18.000 He kept on fighting.
00:33:18.000 He had a family, kept on pushing.
00:33:20.000 I think that's admirable.
00:33:21.000 Even if you disagree with him, I mean, I'm largely sympathetic to the idea of creating a free society, but I don't know Russian politics and I'm not going to overly weigh in on that.
00:33:32.000 Here's breaking from Russia.
00:33:35.000 If it's true, who is this?
00:33:36.000 This is Navalani's wife at the Munich Security Conference.
00:33:39.000 So that's interesting.
00:33:40.000 She's at the Munich Security Conference.
00:33:42.000 That seems strange.
00:33:43.000 What is she doing at the Munich Security Conference?
00:33:46.000 She's in the Munich Security Conference the day that her husband dies in an Arctic prison?
00:33:51.000 That's weird.
00:33:52.000 Maybe because she was just the spokesperson and she's just kind of a common guest, I guess.
00:33:57.000 Okay.
00:33:58.000 What does she say?
00:33:59.000 If it's true, I want Putin, his entourage, Putin friends, and his government to know they'll be held responsible for what they've done to my country, my family, and my husband.
00:34:06.000 Okay.
00:34:07.000 But I think you got to be morally clear.
00:34:09.000 You got to admire a guy who fights for what he believes in all the way to the death.
00:34:13.000 And that was Alexei Navalani.
00:34:17.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
