00:13:33.000And Athens fell apart because democracy is unsustainable and democracy is not a good idea.
00:13:38.000Now, in history, Thucydides argued that the war between Athens and Sparta, which was hugely long and enormously destructive to both countries, was caused because Athens was growing in power and was able to surpass Sparta.
00:13:54.000Sparta's leaders feared this outcome and decided to wage war on Athens and defeat them while they were still the stronger country.
00:14:02.000So, this idea of the Thucydides trap has been playing out many different times.
